This Zoo belongs to the category of Zoo.
Membership no longer includes parking... bogas! No animals were really out and the ones that were are all so bored, miserable and cramped up. Elephants are gone yet the habitat sits. They should expand the exibits and make the park more walkable (alot of dead ends). Way overcharged food prices for what little you get as well. Also only 10% off in gift shop basically excludes you from taxes.
Zoo is a bit small, went through quickly. The loin cubs were very cute.
No
We most frequently visit the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia Zoos, though we've also been to the Bronx Zoo in the past few years. This was a wonderful combination of the smaller crowds and hands-on opportunities of the smallest zoos and the big-draw animals of the larger ones. We thought the price was reasonable, and small bonuses like air-conditioned indoor exhibits, a modest-fee children's train and a free goat petting area were nice additions. While we don't live close, we'll be sure to visit again next time we're in the region.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Buffalo Zoo. There were plenty of animals and the overall layout of the zoo flowed nicely.

Small zoo. They are making repairs, adding attractions but a lot of the animals are missing and needs more adjustments. It's a pleasant way to spend part of your day.
So glad to see so many people enjoying our Buffalo Zoo at full capacity. It's been a long 16 months. The cubs were having so much fun playing with each other!!
If the humidity had not been so great we would have made a day of it. A zoo guide was seen giving special attention to kids enhancing their learning experience. Impressive. Can't wait to go back.
Fun place to explore with family and friends!
Great place to spend some time in Buffalo. They have a wide-range of animals, big and small, and you can get really close to them. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here
As an older, downtown zoo this is nice. The animals appear in variety and good care. Exhibits were not crowded and indoor masking was honored with masks provided if necessary. Perhaps I missed it but would have liked a price that included kids admission with unlimited train and carousel rides so that we didn’t have to negotiate regularly. More experiential exhibits like the baby goat petting and feeding would also be appreciated.
I love the buffalo zoo it's a great place for families I did A fundraiser for the zoo on Facebook and raised$1,476 dollars
Coming from someone who spent the first 30 years of her life spoiled by the San Diego Zoo, I have to say that the Buffalo Zoo, while small, did not disappoint. We got to see lions, and tigers, and bears (of the polar type) oh my! The ability to order lunch from an app was nice although their attendant was a little rude when we brought what was supposed to be a diet pop back up because it was regular. The guy was really nice when we had to go back up to get the missing cheese sauce. I got quite a deal on two adorable stuffies when we left as well. All in all, it was a really nice experience for us.
Decent zoo. Located in a small town so didn’t expect much. But not bad.
The zoo was fun and interesting. A lot of the exhibits were empty and some of the animals seemed listless. The puppet play they did was also really funny.
Always a good time. Recently visited to have breakfast with the Easter bunny. The food was great and my kids had a great time.
$11–15
The Buffalo Zoo is full of many exciting encounters. There are plenty of personalities and faces to see, from lion cubs to polar bears to gorillas. On a sunny day in August you’ll thrill yourself going from space to space wondering whose gaze will return your eager appeal. Judging by the busy packs of kids and parents searching out that memorable and lasting connection with animals you normally see on screens, we weren’t the only ones ready for the rich moments possible at one of the biggest and cleanest zoos we’ve ever visited. Like anywhere else these days, there are indoor mask rules that aren’t really enforced or followed - the zoo here isn’t alone in perhaps being short-staffed, or non-committed, to the policies pointed out on signs by the entrance. The big animals are bringing bodies to the ticket window, and the giraffes were on the verge of making some memorable moments to reward such curiosity, but it’s the many smaller animals we saw whose eyes helped give the visit a soulful and winsome tone.
Very nice zoo, we were able to see a lot of animals we haven't seen at other zoos near us. Clean and staff was friendly. Gift shop was a little disappointing but overall an awesome trip and we will return.
The parking lot sign said lot full...but there was 10 to 12 spaces avalable so l parked 3 blocks away. We loved the animals the boomerang island birds were very cool
Such a great place! I travel for work, and finally took the time to visit the Buffalo Zoo last week -and I'm so glad I did! The rainforest area is so cool, complete with a capybara wading through the water, free flying birds, and great exhibits. A small zoo, but the entry and parking fees are very reasonable, and the cleanliness and quality of the exhibits are excellent. I'll definitely be back!
Zoo itself is clean, big and open in winter time! Don’t forget to take a map on the entrance, it would make you life easy to navigate in the zoo much faster. Kids can celebrate their birthday at the zoo. There was a birthday celebration when I went. Best thing for me was Polar Bear Day!
So the zoo is easy to get around and is clean but the care these animals are in is horrible I can see many signs of distress in the animals. Their areas are way too small for the size of the animals. Also the safety levels that should be around here cause these are dangerous animals are non existence I don’t encourage letting your child run around unattended. (Also the brownie batter dippin dots were sold out)
Buffalo zoo is a smaller quaint zoo. As much to do inside as there is outside. Our favs are the gorilla habitat, the lion cubs, giraffes and sea lions. Polar bear seems a little miserable in the hot small enclosure.
Beautiful animals (they should switch to a habitat rather than the zoo) but the weather was too hot for them. The animals were smart and around I. The shade, as we should have lol. Overall a decent experience
I gave the Buffalo Zoo 1 * less only because I think they should expand more and give more room to the Buffalo and the outer exhibits other than that they have made a great Improvement and to what used to be a very depressing site. The new exhibits are fantastic very good design well thought out if you haven't been there in a while it's time to revisit it
Going after peak season effected a few of the exhibits and amenities being open but was a good time.
The Buffalo Zoo is a medium size facility but arguably one of the best zoo's in the region. The Buffalo zoo is an excellent place to visit with both kids and youth groups. The animal exhibits are all reasonably placed and Do Not require a lot of walking. They offer excellent parking, and a medium sized restaurant for burgers, fries and stuff. If your in the area, i highly recommend it!
They didn't have all the animals, some were sleeping or not visible. General admission was $18 and kids under a certain age get in free. It wasn't crowded so the exhibits were easy to get to and see.
Decided to make it a stop before heading to Niagara Falls. It is a small zoo but it is well kept and clean. You can walk it in about 1 to 1.5 hrs if you don't spend much time at each exhibit. Some exhibits were closed for remodeling, so we missed some animals. They had a train and carousel for kids to use (extra charge) and they started their Halloween decor and activities. Not a bad experience and kind of cute to just stop by and stroll or make it a quick stop while in Buffalo.
A nice visit. We unfortunately went at a time where a lot of the Animals were sleeping. Maybe look into which are best time for when they are active. The reptile exhibit was my favorite. It had a lot of animals at a good visibility and high activity rate. Would definitely check it out when promotions are going. Looking forward to the new exhibits in development.

Went there for the lights, impressively underwhelmed. The fact that they charge for admission is nothing less than robbery. Buffalo zoo you can do better even during covid. The right Neighborhoods had more lights than them and it was FREE!
During the pandemic, not sure if the animals collection in the Zoo are likely to little When I visited in 2018 it's way too many collection, but not now I guess
Clean walkways, well kept areas for animals. Can't wait to go back after Covid times so animals can be viewed without the plexiglass barriers. Only issue was inside buildings nobody enforced mask wearing though signs said masks were required inside all buildings.

Like a walk in the park with animals. Generally a pleasant visit. I like how spread out it is, but I could see how you mind find it sparse. Just enough little rides to make it fun for my kid. If you don't expect a grand zoo experience, it's a good morning or afternoon.
The zoo itself is pretty nice. I'm so sad they no longer have elephants though. The main reason for only 3 stars is because the membership perks seem to have gone down while prices for things like food and parking have gone up over the past few years. You'd think that even if they no longer give any free parking tokens to members, that they'd at least offer discounted parking. My family loves souvenirs and gift shops, and the Buffalo zoo's gift shop is definitely one of the highest priced gift shops I've ever been in! I couldn't even find a little something to let my kids buy because I couldn't fathom paying those prices.
When the zoo closed for the pandemic they offered 4 months extended to the end of your membership because of the time lost at the zoo which was wonderful but today when I called they refused to honor the 4 months because we renew our membership annually! Seriously they are not only screwing their regular customer but this was a gift for my six-year-old on her birthday (from her Aunt) who lost zoo time March, April, May and June 2020! We will NOT be renewing our membership from this point forward. Very sad but there are many other things to spend birthday money on- I’m thinking next year we do horseback riding camp :)
We loved this place. So much fun, so much to see, and learn. The animals are very well cared for. They are following COVID 19 guidelines to make sure everyone is safe at this place.
This zoo is amazing and I loved almost everything about it! For the most part, the animals seemed content with their enclosures, except for two. I remember the poor sandcat was in an extremely small enclosure, essentially just a glass box. I think a snake would have been fine in a habitat like that, but definitely not a cat. It was pacing back and forth the whole time I was around it, and it didn’t stop by the time I left. The other exhibit I had a problem with were the gorillas. I’m not sure if they’re normally indoors, but these huge animals were in an indoor exhibit. They were surrounded by multiple glass windows and had essentially no privacy. All of them appeared agitated and some of them were even banging on the glass in response to children screaming and banging on the glass as well. At the very least they could have an employee there to prevent people from purposely agitating the gorillas like this when they are already extremely distressed by their lack of privacy.
I usually love the buffalo zoo but I am sad that the elephants are gone and that the train and carasol were both under maintenance. Also, we pay we family membership for years and years and years and they made us pay to feed bird :/ plus side was the baby rhino!

I'm an intern here and I hope to work here one day. The staff here truly care about the animals. And they are very well taken care of????
A lot of the animals I wanted to see weren't there... Gorillas...Hyenas...for example. The other exhibits were OK. Feel like prices should be lowered if some animals won't be there.

Great way to kills some time before a flight. The best part was the sea lion exhibit.
Nice but not $15 oh wait $20 after service fee and $4 for one s'mores sandwich I could see $2 each and $7 for parking
What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful Buffalo Day! The zoo seems to be handling the pandemic protocols quite well. They are protecting their workers, customers and animals.
Great place for families. Nice, clean zoo with plenty to see and do. I highly recommend zoo membership.
I really like this zoo. It's got a great variety of exotic animals, the kids love it. The zoo is rather small so it's easy to walk and feel like you saw everything. Some paths and directions were closed off, so it was a tad more walking than usual. The zoo keepers normally have info sessions but these and some exhibits are closed now due to COVID-19. The animals look well cared for. The staff enjoy their jobs. It's very educational and informative for children (and even adults). I hope the zoo stays for many years to come.
Really nice people ... Great array of animals my family had a great day !!!
Fun day at the Buffalo Zoo. Contactless entry, masks required indoors, not overly crowded. I used online reservations, very easy
A smaller zoo but filled with interesting animals displayed in creative ways. Allow about two hours fro small children.
Nice zoo, very spaced out exhibits. Some of the enclosures (giraffes in particular) are a little lackluster. The lions were right up to the glass, and I loved seeing the maned wolf, which I had never seen before. We are from Ohio and had been planning on visiting the Buffalo zoo for about 6 months. I feel it did not live up to my expectations, but it was still a very nice zoo.
The zoo can be a little depressing, but they are trying... Great for kids. Sometimes disappointing depending on what time of the day you go. Sometimes the animals are hot and hidden away... But that is how it is for any zoo.
So awesome.. everyone wore masks and they checked everyone's temp before entering
No wait
Weekday
This zoo has everything you never knew you wanted to see. I learned so much and my children didn't want to leave. Make the visit and I promise you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful day for a stroll through the Zoo!
Really gone downhill over the years, not much to look at, not to mention it doesn't look like they have much of a cleaning staff. They got rid of the elephants for another rhino. If you're going with kids, I'm sure they'll have a good time. Of course it's still a good time with the variety of animals
It was clean and spread out. We enjoyed our time there. Just wish we had printed out a map because we missed a whole section. Never saw the giraffes. It would have been nice to have " you are here" maps through the zoo.
The grandparent seasons pass is just wonderful. There is nothing better than spending time with your grandkids at the zoo. We actually have a season pass to explore and more, the science museum, and the zoo. Zoo. Often we will spend the morning at Explore and More or the Science Museum and then visit the Buffalo Zoo in the afternoon. Great times and you can make it as educational as you want. Season Passes are great deals for folks who can take advantage of these great resources regularly. With seasons passes there are no pressure to stay for long times. You can come and go as you please.
Love bringing the grands here its one of our favorite outdoor activities to do with them . We love to spend the entire day there just walking around enjoying the animals and eating as many good snacks as we can on our day out . By the time we leave the kids are exhausted and their belly are full and the memories made for them will last a lifetime
Wonderful day with all kinds of animals. Peaceful, fascinating and beautiful creatures up close, even allowing for social distancing.
This is always a great place to go. Out of all the zoos around the area this is probably one of the bigger ones. There's always stuff to do and they have seasonal activities which are fantastic.
Not a huge zoo, but big enough to spend about 4 hours walking around (our favorites were the monkeys, polar bear, tigers, and the entire rainforest area). Knowledgeable staff, very clean, and decent food available. Strollers for rent $6 if you have little ones, carousel and train ride available as well as a farm area. One word of caution: In the bird exhibit, if you buy the popsicle sticks for the birds to eat off of, some of them will land on the sticks, or possibly your fingers. You'll get a perfectly good close-up view of the birds without, so I'd skip that if you like personal space.
A great place to spend a summer day if it were not for questionable social distancing practices. Before arriving at the zoo, a reservation needed to be placed beforehand as part of social distancing measures. Expecting few visitors, we were surprised when upon arriving to the zoo the parking lot was packed. As we entered the zoo proper we noticed that several exhibits were at a capacity that doesn't appear safe. In particular, the polar bear exhibit had around +20 people confined to a space that could jeopardize the health of everyone. Now while there are designated spots to stand for exhibits, the size of the area cannot possibly hold the amount of guests present. Several other exhibits also share a similar story. There were also sights of several visitors not wearing any masks roaming the park. All of these warning signs makes it very uncomfortable navigating the park, as social distancing is very hard to maintain. I will say that apart from all my complaints above, the actual exhibits were quite fun to experience. That being said, I would stay clear from this place from the time being, as the zoo seems to have no concern over the health of its guests.
Good place to take a stroll with little ones.. unfortunately many of the animals do not seem to be very at home in the older enclosures. The zoo has been trying to update but it takes time

Nice place but many of the cells were under maintenance and many are closed due to non season. Wanted to see kangaroo n elephants which we couldnt see there. But sea seal, polar bear were really nice.
Beautiful, grrounds were well kept. Park waa cleaned. The animal habitats were well kept.
We LOVE the Buffalo zoo we have yearly passes! Take my kids once a week but we will NOT be getting food there any longer, especially from the pizzeria the workers are absolutely horrible and have the worst attitudes I have ever seen in my life!! LEARN HOW TO SMILE AND SAY HAVE A GOOD DAY INSTEAD OF ROLLING YOUR EYES AT CHILDREN. needs better staff is all I can say.
What a great zoo for the family. I particularly found the Buffalo Zoo to be well taken care of. All of the facilities were very clean. The size of the park is very friendly to families with young ones who may not want to walk very far. It's also surrounded by Delaware Park and the historic Delaware Ave. This is a must visit for Buffalo.

Smaller zoo, great for kids. We were able to see all of the animals. None of the were kept inside out of view.
It's okay but many main attraction animals were hiding in the back and that kinda was lame.. .but overall I enjoy the buffalo zoo!
It’s was horrible, hardly any animals were out, the prices of food is absolutely disgusting, the food itself my disgusting the pizza made my great granddaughter sick. For the price you pay to get in should have been more to see. Very disappointing experience

Great little zoo for toddlers to run around, decent price, bring your own food is a must. They need to address the problem with yellow jackets around the trash bins and food courts.
Have not been to the zoo in years! I forgot how fun it is to see all the animals! Very nice zoo!
Fantastic place. It's great getting to see all the animals, and there's an app you can download to do a type of listening your as you go around. I didn't get to see the new baby rhino or sea lion, but I did get to see the new sand cats, and they were beyond adorable. The new animatronic dinosaurs were awesome as well. My only complaint is that parents don't know how to control their screaming children, so I highly recommend downloading the app and using headphones.
We had a good time at the zoo. Some of areas closed due to COVID at the time we went.
A good place to spend day with family. They have plenty of animals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. Decently managed, I hope they get more funding to be able to continue maintaining the animals there.
Price for adult entry
Was good, but nothing compare to Columbus Ohio Zoo ???? . Anyway they have people everywhere sharing a good information about the animals .
We had an enjoyable time seeing the lights. Not as many lights as I thought there was going to be. Still fun for my 10year to see! Fun Santa and Mrs. Claus experience, and great photo with green screen, but very pricey.
We visited the zoo yesterday and I will never return. My children were very disturbed and I too cried after seeing the gorillas. They were in a filthy small room, multiple of them. I don't know how people can sit there and think it is cute when they are contained like that. I would never confine or treat my dog like that. My dog goes on walks and has a large back yard to play in. There were way too many gorillas in too small of a space. Very heartbreaking. I will be advocating on their behalf with national organizations for zoo safety and education. They are voiceless and deserve advocates.
Even on a cold windy winter day the zoo was still open and the staff were friendly. Many animals were moved inside for there own comfort (gladly) but only a few animals were unavailable.
Good place to visit with the family,my little ones loved the train & the reptile section. You could do the whole zoo probably in an 1.5 but take your time to enjoy
I loved the place we traveled from Connecticut ????
A great place to go when looking for something to do during the spring, summer, and fall! Mulitple times too. Am overcast cooler day will usually allow more sitings of animals. Not too pricey, and a fun couple of hours, plan for 2 to 3 hours to see everything.
Wonderful place! Lots of fun to see such a historical Zoo. Old buildings and structures but it's all in great condition and wonderfully laid out. A great time for any family outing.
This place is awesome. If you're looking for something to do with the kids. This place is perfect. The polar bears are my favorite!!
Very nice zoo, great enclosures and a huge variety of animals to see. Awesome ways to see things up close!
Great zoo, an older smaller zoo, but modern, great family atmosphere, plenty of spots to enjoy a picnic, they don't care if you bring in food or coolers. Open all year round.
Nice but not $15 oh wait $20 after service fee and $4 for one s'mores sandwich I could see $2 each and $7 for parking
Wonderful metropolitan zoo with a great variety of animals from around the world. Now open for visits without the need for advance reservations and arrival time slots. Be sure to see the lion cubs
Weekend
Fun place to take the kids. Looking forward to some of the new exhibits they are working on.
The winter is the perfect time to visit the Buffalo Zoo. The animals are more active in the cold and there are fewer crowds.
Great zoo! Small but great exhibits. Clean. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
First time I've honestly been to the zoo and this was such an amazing experience. All the animals were in great view, friendly staff, and all types of good times. Can't wait to go back.

We came here with friends for a little birthday outing. It was about 58° and the Saturday before easter. It turned out to be such a beautiful day. The grounds were spotless and looked so nice even though it was early spring. The social distancing was following wonderfully. Prices are reasonable and no long wait in line. Their staff had it moving along very quickly. We will definitely be back soon.
Very cool zoo. Went in Feb and it was great cause hardly anyone was there. Didn’t get to see the elephants or rhinos but it was great.
I have fond memories as a child going to the Buffalo Zoo and watching the Polar Bears. Unfortunately, now they look so sad. We enjoyed looking at the ????????Giraffes and the ????????rhino was fun to watch- but the rest of the animals looked sad even the gorilla????????. I am sure kids might enjoy... But... It was sad.
Not the best zoo, not the worst zoo. My daughter loved it, so that's a plus. We did stand in line for food for over 45 minutes. Next time we will bring our own food.
Today was an amazing day. Most of the animals where out and about so we really got to see a lot. The rain forest exhibit was really enjoyable and warm in this chilly weather. There was an Ocelot, anteater, monkeys and several other interesting animals to see. Overall it was a fun time and I'm so happy the zoo is open in the winter months.
Our zoo has come a long way and makes for a very enjoyable afternoon. The polar bear enclosure is fantastic and watching Luna swim is so enjoyable. They are currently upgrading the reptile house and I can't wait to see it. It is a great family treat.
Nice zoo. Small but packed with stuff. Make sure to walk through the lion house!!
Weekend
We did the behind the scenes giraffe encounter and it was fantastic. The keeper was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The best part was getting to feed giraffes!
We are so lucky to have such a great zoo so close to us...the wife and I love taking our daughter there. A little sad that we just sent our elehants away, but hopeful they will be replaced with other great animals for our little one to grow up seeing and learning about!!! Keep it up Buffalo!!! Maybe we could get some more cold weather animals...seeings how it always cold here!!!
The zoo has significantly improved over the past couple of years so it was nice to come back after a break and see all the improvements. If you havent been in a while I suggest you try it out. Was happy with the updates
Many years since we were here and it has changed very much for the better. An enjoyable park to walk through, very well maintained. A bottle of water was pricey, but parking was reasonable at 5 for 2 hours, credit cards greatly preferred.
Went with my daughter, her friend and her mother. Had a great time . Nice to see the animals.

Had a fun day, however no elephants any more which makes me sad and also love the newer cages and things also love how we could pet a goat!! I wish we could have more interactions with the animals especially the monkeys or the new lion cubs or like a farm petting zooo!!! Even the giraffes!! The merry go round amd all the. Playgrounds were closed which was dissapointing!! However we had a good day, just seems like a lot of money, for what it actually is!!! Oh as far as covid goes I love all the sinks and hand sanitizer stations as well!! Seem.like every place should have these little sinks!!! That is.all i.can think of
If I could have given this zoo a 'zero' I would have. Barely any animals were out. Must've been close to quitting time. It was almost deserted. If zoo hours are until 4 pm, everything should be functional until that time. Such a waste of money.????
Very good place to take our granddaughter. Still has some things closed but still a very nice zoo.
Great for family outing , don't eat at slice if you go it's a joke either bring your lunch or eat at wild burger which is much more resonably proceed, terrific exibits... The reptile exibits open soon????

Very neat clean park. Educational opportunities abound !
Not sure
We go at least once a year. The kids love it. I feel terrible for all those guys locked in cages and small enclosures, but it is what it is.
There's not a whole lot to see. It was sad to see animals in the heat when their natural habitat is cold weather. On the other hand the employees are awesome. Aaron the janitor went above and beyond to help me find my lost cell phone. Thanks Aaron!!
We visited in July while on vacation. It is a small zoo but nice and well maintained. We got there right after it opened and the grounds were all very clean. It cost us $5 to park in the zoo lot. You get a token which you will use to get out of the lot. Very happy to see that they offered recycling along side almost every trash can by partnering with Coca-Cola. Kudos to both as this was a pleasant surprise for us being a big recycling household. Even though it was not a huge zoo we were still there for 2.5 hours. We let our 3 year old lead the way and just enjoyed the sites. They had giraffes, rhinos and a polar bear among many other animals. They also had dinosaurs set up all over the property. Most were animated with noise, they even had one that spit water (kids favorite on a very hot day)! Not a place you will spend all day at but a nice way to spend a couple of hours for some family fun.
I have to say I’m extremely disappointed in our visit. My wife and I took our 18 month old here and while I think she had a good time, I would never come here again. The main reason being that they just want to nickel and dime you. Having to pay $15 dollars per person to see giraffes up close for 15 minutes? No thanks. There was also a bird pavilion that also costs extra. The price of admission and the mandatory $5 for parking should be more than enough to cover admission to everything in the zoo. The worst part by far was the price on food. For some reason, they upcharge for fries?!? It’s bad enough it was $9 for two chicken fingers and chips (which weren’t good). It’s a shame because I’ve lived in Western New York my entire life and the zoo has never really been that great. If you are serious about going to an actual zoo, I would suggest the Toronto Zoo. I’ve gone multiple times and it’s fantastic. You could literally spend all day in there and not see everything. Thank you for taking the time to read my honest opinion about our visit!
Such a beautiful place needs a lot of work. Water stations ran out of water/ paper towels to clean hands. Bathrooms had 1 ply ripped continuously all over the floors. Maintenance repairs thru out. Love ❣the animals.
Small zoo. They are making repairs, adding attractions but a lot of the animals are missing and needs more adjustments. It's a pleasant way to spend part of your day.
My entire family had such a great day. The staff was so nice and helpful.
I have gone to this zoo for 40 years. It was saddening to see it now. Lots of single animals, in the same small enclosures. Half of them werent even out on a clear mid 70's day. They do have more fish then our aquarium!! ???? Could be great, but needs a lot of upgrades.
Excellent experience... the place was clean, animals looked well cared for... would go back!
Most animals were visible today. Lots of unexpected animals we haven’t seen in a zoo before. Too many exhibits closed. Understand why but was disappointed.
Nice, family friendly zoo.
Love going to the zoo. First time with my 1 year old twins. Wish the polar bears were out. Only bad thing was there were so many schools there for field trips I guess. I thought going during the week would be quieter, but it wasn't. Parking lot was full, but luckily found spot right near by which saved us $5.
Even with social distancing, the kids had a great time at the zoo. Everyone was respectful of others' space. The play equipment was all closed down, so don't plan on the kiddos playing on those. The merry go round is still active, though.
Exhibit is nice but the employee taking pictures is rude and disrespectful. She needs to humble herself and stop looking bitter. Very unpleasant to first walk into a zoo and see. Made the entire experience uncomfortable.
Not so good as it was few years ago. Think twice before you go. Most important minus- no animals in this zoo(?). I would not recommend friends to go there.
Fun trip to the zoo. Very clean, all staff was so noce and helpful. (Just keep an eye on all your items. We had my sons hat&toy stolen from our stroller)
They didn't have all the animals, some were sleeping or not visible. General admission was $18 and kids under a certain age get in free. It wasn't crowded so the exhibits were easy to get to and see.
Although the kids had a good time, I must say I was not happy. There wasn't many animals we could actually see... I get because of Covid a lot has been closed off to the public but come on, even the park was closed. My 2 year old was not happy about it at all! We did get some great pics with a fun polar bear who was sitting right at the window! Hopefully next time our visit will be better!
Have not been to the zoo in years! I forgot how fun it is to see all the animals! Very nice zoo!

Cant wait to go back post-Covid when all the areas and playgrounds are open. Very little free parking so plan on paying $10 to park on Zoo property. Feels like a smaller but great tourist destination zoo, rather than a "our" local zoo.
$16–20
Had a perfect day at the zoo.beautiful setting.all the animals appear we cared for. Clean and active. Personnel were friendly. Genuinely interested and informed
Beautiful zoo
Great experience for all of us. It felt so nice to be there it's been quite a while for all of us. It's nice to see the new exhibits in the past years. We also feel there is so much more than needs to be done aswell. I would like to see more expansions of each exhibit for the animals. My concern if for the tigers, the lions and the chimpanzee, they need larger spaces. They seem uneasy in their living spaces. I know it's not easy for a lot of them to adjust but I feel if they had a bigger enclosure it would give them more safety and peace.

Nice family fun. My granddaughter loves seeing all the animals and playing on the playground. We bring a snack or pack a lunch.
Pretty good, I don't have any complaints. First time I've ever been to a zoo. It was quiet (Wednesday afternoon) and not many people. The place seemed like to the visitors, railings and glass and people where there cleaning stuff all day. The animal enclosures or exhibits where especially clean. I do feel bad for the animals living in small cages but the exhibits looked pretty nice especially the ones for the reptiles and frogs.
Smaller zoo, but for all that a great place to visit. Didn't get any food or drinks, but thought the cost worth it to see the park.

The animals are well taken care of, but I can't help but feel sad of some of them being alone or in small spaces I know they work on donations but the gorilla enclosure is too small for them. They also are working on saving the local turtoiss population so hopefully people. Donate to them more

The zoo has significantly improved over the past couple of years so it was nice to come back after a break and see all the improvements. If you havent been in a while I suggest you try it out. Was happy with the updates
The zoo is nice but there is Lake of signboard, we had to navigate only with the map which we had in our hand. It was quite confusing and we were trying to find out different animals by guessing where they must have been located seeing other surrounding animals. I would recommend to put up signboards.

The overall size and layout, and variety of animals is decent; a lot less than neighboring Cleveland, but more than Seneca. That said, over the past decade I've gone here, there's almost always a major construction endeavor with little to show for the effort. You'd also better hope that parking is available in the main lot. Otherwise it's basically a reenactment of Frodo's journey to Mordor.
My 9 year old and I loved it! Just the right size and so much to see. Very enjoyable park to walk through and took a couple hours just taking our time.
Love our zoo! Small enough to see everything in a day but big enough to keep the kids wanting to come back! We've been members for the past 10 years, bringing the kids as infants just to get out and walking. Great place with great staff ????
I forgot to go to the rain forest exhibit. Totally bummed but going back soon. Gorillas are great and the reptile room is a time capsule. I could have stayed all day.

We always have a good time at the zoo. The food is solid. It's clean, the animals are displayed nicely, and my 5 year old loves it!!
Haven't been here for 5+ years. Many animals are gone(elephants). PETA, sometimes we are so politically correct that we will never see or understand the entire picture. We enjoyed all the beautiful animals, felt sorry for others. Hard to ignore the neurotic pacing. Food courts $15.00 drinks even made my grandson gag.Way overpriced, as well as the final clincher; the photo shop($30.00 bucks) for digital photos that you could easily take on your own phone for free!?! Most of the fun things were closed.????
It poured while we were there but we still had a great time. We were able to see many of the animals, even the lion cubs, during some of the break in the rain. It's smaller than I thought but it's got animals that other places about the same size by me don't have. It was the first time my kids saw a rhino and red panda.
Great zoo with a wide variety of very fun animals to view for the smaller size of the zoo. My wife and I recommend going to a zoo any time the weather is wet and rainy. We have yet to have a bad experience in that kind of weather and it’s a lot of fun!
The zoo is always a great visit however lack of signs made it difficult to navigate and when I inquired about a map I was told I can scan a QR code and see it on my phone. I know many people who don't have that capability. And even with the online map and lack of directional signs still made things hard to find. We went past the Rainforest exhibit several times in our attempt to find it. I'm a disabled person and the walk wasn't easy so after some time, lack of directional signs, and no staff to ask along the way, we left having only visited half the zoo. A bit disappointed for the price we paid, just a bit over $50 for 3 people. I know the pandemic has hit everyone hard but I think the things I am taking about, is not alot to ask for to make the visit a bit more enjoyable and make someone want to come back.

It was nice having the zoo pretty much to ourselves. The staffs were super friendly and one of them pretty much spent the whole time with us in the reptile room. Talking about every animal & section we went to.
My kids had a fun time at the zoo. However it seemed run down and grass needed cut and new paint jobs around. Additionally, a lot of animals weren’t on exhibit. For the price for entry, it would seem that there would be more to see or better upkeep. Kids did have fun but we’re especially disappointed that the sea lions weren’t out either. The elephants had been transferred to another zoo as well and this wasn’t known until we were already inside the zoo. There were a lot of people there at the zoo that day as well and it looked like a lot of kids were disappointed with not a lot of animals on display. A favorite exhibit this trip however was the polar bears. One came running down and did a cannonball into the water. The kids all enjoyed that. I hadn’t been to the buffalo zoo since i was a kid and what I remember was completely different from now. I remember the zoo packed with animals as well as lots of other exciting things for kids to be involved in and do.

It's a zoo. Sure it's a fun day to look at animals, but again, they're animals just trapped in cages. Not necessarily bad, but not good either. The staff there is nice, it's a relatively clean place. When I ordered my food, I didn't get what I asked, so that kinda sucked.
Was amazed at how many different animals they had at the zoo. Everything from Polar Bears and Snow Leopards (my personal favorite) to Lions and a Rhino. There was a good mix of shade areas with sunny spaces. Also experienced Perry's custard for the first time and loved it. Would recommend this zoo to others.
I've been going to the Buffalo Zoo since I was a child. Sadly, it left us a bit disappointed. We paid full price for admission only to learn that most of the exhibits were closed to the public due to lingering concerns about COVID. Luckily the lions were very active today or this would have been a 2 or 1 star rating.
Something about this zoo felt off -even by small city zoo standards . The electric vehicle charging station (of which there is only 1 of , a joke in and of itself considering where the world is obviously headed ) has been broken since June. So as a visitor from Rochester , it was a sad start to the whole half day we spent there , with many of the exhibits closed , food and beverage stations not open , and mega fauna there that looked like they would rather be culled . Sure there are a few animals being rehabilitated and that’s cool, but this zoo missed. Disclaimer : all zoos miss for me . Enjoy though if this is your thing . Just make sure you drive your gas guzzler

This is an above average zoo that offers plenty of open spaces, natural shade, and hand sanitizers with washing stations. The lion exhibit was exceptional having 2 new cubs and an indoor viewing option that looked directly into the mother lionesses favorite resting spot. Watching and listening to the lion family interact was incredible. The monkeys were active and gorillas sociable. The displayed polar bear den and red panda exhibit was icing on the cake. I recommend going on a weekday.
Great place to visit with the kids or just get out for the day. Very reasonable prices. Lots of improvements since I was there as a child. Love the natural habitat and closures and work that has been done was sad to see there was no elephants. Great gift and souvenir shop . Also have food selections only issue I had was all the water fountains were closed due to "covid" and all bottled 20 oz water was $4.00. Also I am handicap and it would have been nice to get reduced parking seeing as I could not park on other streets and walk to get the free parking.
Need more cleaning spots for people hands and more lines for spacing on floor Signs that say do not touch railings should be added kids are licking the railings
Loved it so much too see I loved the lion cubs
Good place to take a stroll with little ones.. unfortunately many of the animals do not seem to be very at home in the older enclosures. The zoo has been trying to update but it takes time
Today was the first time that I went to the Buffalo zoo and it was a great experience they had a lot of different animals and they were all outside playing in the nice weather it was clean there wasn’t trash littered all over. A lot of the cages in the indoor exhibits were empty because they’re doing a remodeling of some kind.Oh and the elephants are gone had a blast though
This zoo is alright. We came on Christmas Eve, and it was basically a ghost zoo. Some animals like the rhino and elephants were not out because it was too cold. The polar bear was definitely not doing so well.... Waking around in circles and swinging its head... Signs of mental issues and boredom. Same goes with the tigers. The reptiles and amphibians were the coolest part.
The zoo is well maintained by people who obviously care about animals. Even in February we had plenty to see. Lovely gift shop.
Underwhelming, old facilities. Yes, it was built 100 years ago, the buildings are dowdy looking, the animals displays were terriblely small and junky looking and terribly undersized. Two hotdogs were nealy $20 and the other foods were very high priced. I do have to say the restrooms were very well taken care of.
Nice zoo. Animals are always fun to see. Need to hire more employees for food outlets.
We had a great time!! We got there early so it wasn't super crowded and a parking spot up front. The lion cubs were absolutely adorable!!!! We will definitely be back ????
Very fun to walk around and see all the animals. Kids loved it.
On one hand I had a lovely conversation with a macaw. On the other hand, I think a macaque threatened me. 10/10
Nice place! Most of the animals had decent sized enclosures. And even on a chilly day in October, most of the animals were out playing around!

Even on a cold windy winter day the zoo was still open and the staff were friendly. Many animals were moved inside for there own comfort (gladly) but only a few animals were unavailable.
Great experience everything is very spaced out and open and the animals have the best enclosures it's like a zoo out of the movies wife and son loved it will be back soon before end of the season. 5/5
A really great Zoo! A few workers went above and beyond to help us get a couple of pictures of different animals when I was there with my client with special needs. Good walking paths along with shady spots and nice places to sit to rest. I felt like the animal exhibits were easy to get up close type pictures.
It was ok, not the best not the worst. 1 hour and everything was seen. Food was very expensive and not so good. Loved the animals!
Its small compared to the other zoos but a great place to make a family outing for.
Amazing family pass prices ,we have gone 4 x so far and it equals the amount the passes cost.so technically anytime after is now " free" very organized ( crowd control) very clean fast clean service in the cafe .great staff ,they clean all day long (railings door knobs windows etc ) the 2 lion cubs were feeding but they were out and ready to meet their fans .
Best place to be with Grand children. Loved and clean space. Lion is really KING OF ANIMALS GO THERE AND ENJOY
We love the zoo! The lion Cubs are very cute, the grounds are taken care of and the staff is friendly.
I was satisfied with this first visit. I have other favorite zoo's but in other areas of the country

I love the zoo such awesome animals and my grandson loves the train
Most beautiful zoo! Endangered animals were amazing to see! All the trees and picnic areas were beautiful. Kinda small but incredible to see all of the history.
Decent zoo. Located in a small town so didn’t expect much. But not bad.
Great day out with the family at a very reasonable price!
Despite having visited on what had to be the hottest day on record for 2021 it was a great time. The zoo is small but well taken care of. The animals were a bit lazy during our visit but understandably so. With my current physical challenges, the layout was easy to navigate with plenty of places to rest.
Our go to place with the kiddos small but not tiny . We love the animals and love that we get to create so many memories with out kiddos here
Went in January and the admission was only $5 with free parking! Many animals aren't on exhibit due to the cold and snow but with very few people visiting seeing the animals close up was much easier.
Nice zoo. Small but packed with stuff. Make sure to walk through the lion house!!
The workers around were very friendly. A great selection of animals to see and amazing decorations around the zoo! It was very clean and orderly and easy to navigate.

They had a variety of different animals. I had not been a zoo since I was a child. I thought the zoo enclosures were small and that the animals needed more attention.
Nice medium sized zoo. Clean and animals and they look well taken care of. They've come a long way since I was a kid. Polar bears, elephants, giraffes, lions, gorillas, rainforest enclosure with birds, and other animals, reptiles, gorillas, vanishing species like the snow leopard, manned wolf, and red panda, sea lions, otters, farm animals, buffalo, etc.. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. I find that the animals are really active right when the zoo opens. I think they get fed right before it opens and they seem to be more alert and vibrant, so it's my favorite time to visit. They also have a carousel and train in the warm months. A little food pavilion and ice cream shack that JUST got renovated (2019) and look amazing! Their bathrooms are really clean too.

I've been going to the Buffalo Zoo since I was a child. Sadly, it left us a bit disappointed. We paid full price for admission only to learn that most of the exhibits were closed to the public due to lingering concerns about COVID. Nice, clean zoo. Animals all appeared healthy and well cared for. Polar bear exhibit closed the day we visited, so a little sad, but overall an enjoyable visit.
Nice zoo. Clean. My complaints... there were no directions or guidance. We've never been there before so we were there way longer than needed because we would see exhibits across from another but not know how to get there. And they had minimum animals out. And we waited for the train operator sign said they would return at 130 we stood there till 145 and still no one returned.
I am a Buffalo Zoo member. I absolutely love the Zoo and the changes that they have made and are making. I gave it 4 star's instead of 5 because of seating to be able to sit and eat and benches throughout the Zoo. Also cleanliness of the restrooms. Other than that I love the Zoo.
It's a medium size zoo, very good to walk around with the kids.

The zoo was very thorough in covid protection measures. They even took our temperature when we got there and most people kept their masks on which was great. Definitely would recommend taking your own snacks and water though for sure. $4 for a water!?
Went for winter lights. Saw a few animals. Rainforest house and the farm were only open areas with animals. Got hot chocolate and smores package. FYI... parking is an additional $5... lights were ok... nice family outing.
We are from Ohio, so we already have some great zoo options. In saying that this is truly a charming, smaller zoo. Price is a little high for entry but didn't mind after seeing how many animal's the zoo houses. Vendors are way too expensive! Highly recommend if your passing by!
Fairly nice zoo, considering the size. Good variety of animals that look well taken care of, and decent facilities (Food, Vending, bathrooms, etc)
Didn't like how you had to pay to see some of the animals as much as you pay for your family to get in plus eat their they should let you see all the animals for free not charge us more, but a very clean zoo and a lot to see, all in all my grand daughters had a wonderful day
Other than the chaos we experienced in the parking lot, we had a wonderful time inside the zoo! My grandsons are 7 and 9 and there was plenty to keep both of their minds active for several hours. From watching the sea lions to digging for bones, they had a wonderful time, and to me, what makes them happy is what makes me happy. We will be back again next year.
My son (6) loves the zoo. We spend lots or time here. I don't think he will get tired of that place!
Weekend
OUTSTANDING DAY for Family fun. Bring your lunch and have a picnic at Delaware Park. Then finish your day at the Zoo. BUT Don't forget to get stamped in the gift shop!
My family enjoys the Buffalo Zoo at least once every summer. Prices are high throughout the zoo; not just at the gate. Its an exciting place to keep you entertained for a little while. There's tons to do and see for people of all ages. Also depending on the time of day, most animals were not in their habitats but understandable.
It's a great zoo that is clean, well organized, and great for families. It's been great to come here with my kids after coming here as a kid for so many years. Prices are reasonable and a visit here makes for some great memories.
My entire family had such a great day. The staff was so nice and helpful.
We love the zoo! Only four stars because there are alot of empty enclosures, but there is alot to see still! Their update a few years ago made everything cleaner.
Great time, and a good amount of animals were active too.
Having visited this zoo, I was pleasantly surprised. The animals were clean and well-fed (they look very good) But despite this: They have insanely sad eyes. When they look, it seems that they look into the very heart ... ...
Almost no animals. Most areas were closed off. The lion family was the best part. They put on a great show!
Nice way to spend a couple of hours on a nice summer day. The zoo has made great improvements over the past couple of years. I can't wait to see what else they have planned.
Didn't like how you had to pay to see some of the animals as much as you pay for your family to get in plus eat their they should let you see all the animals for free not charge us more, but a very clean zoo and a lot to see, all in all my grand daughters had a wonderful day
Lovely campus, exhibits and animals. One of the oldest zoo's in the country and it's awesome.
We went for Lights at the Zoo. It was Ok. For all the lights they had up the walkways were actually on the dark side. We took a 3 and 4 yr old , they enjoyed the lights and seeing Santa.
It was clean and spread out. We enjoyed our time there. Just wish we had printed out a map because we missed a whole section. Never saw the giraffes. It would have been nice to have " you are here" maps through the zoo.
My 9 year old and I loved it! Just the right size and so much to see. Very enjoyable park to walk through and took a couple hours just taking our time.
The zoo is a good place for animal viewing, a discount should be offered when while exhibits are closed. We had a wonderful time on our visit it was snowing and the polar bears were having a blast and the kids really loved watching them play. We will always come back at least once a year. The reptile house will be done soon we hope.
It's ok... I dont know if its because the cold weather but alot of the animals that advertise weren't there like the rhino and giraffe.. my son love it!!,
Beautiful zoo, a lots of animals!
This Zoo is simply fantastic. First time in Buffalo, and I truly enjoyed it. While it was winter, and a big snowfall had just hit, lots of animals were available outside to see, and there were also various indoor sections for people to see. The area is very nice to walk, and while a lot of the playgrounds were shut down, I would imagine if it was summer, it would be much more popular and kid-friendly. Regardless, your family will enjoy coming here, without a doubt. The parking lot is massive, and the souvenir shop is big with variety of choices. I also believe they accept both US and Canadian currencies (do not quote me on that!). One thing I wouldn't really recommend is the food there which were mediocre. My favourite part was seeing the tiger, and the baby chimpanzees which were SUPER adorable! A really nice place to enjoy as a person, couple, or family!
Went to the zoo for their Holiday Lights at The Zoo. Lots of activities and treats for kids.
We had a great time visiting the zoo on a cool, windy day. Some of the animals were more active than in the warmer weather and it was also great to visit the indoor exhibits to warm up!
No animals in several exhibits. Exhibits seem very small for the animals. I honestly am concerned for the wellbeing of the giraffes. That space is way to small and they were struggling to bend down to feed. Many animals seem to be lacking enrichment.
Smaller zoo, great for kids. We were able to see all of the animals. None of the were kept inside out of view.
This was our first time to the buffalo zoo. We had a great time here there was many different animals than the normal Rochester and Syracuse zoo. My 2-year-old and 8-year-old had a very good time. The sea lions were the best playing catch with each other and trying to splash us. I feel as though the giraffe should have a bigger nicer place to live then their concrete bunker but I guess they may do with what they had. Other than this it's a good zoo and it's worth visiting
Zoo is great but front gate staff is being very poorly managed. There was one girl working in the gift shop at the exit with a line out the door. Three girls standing at the entrance gate doing NOTHING! We just needed our hands stamped to get back in and the girls at the front gate refused to help. So sad that young people do not understand customer service and the phrase "not my job" is their moto.
Great place to experience with the family. Get to see quite a few exhibits even with the restrictions. Over all good place.
It is a great little zoo. We were disappointed that the reptile exhibit was closed, but will defiantly be going back again. We really enjoyed the Rain Forest Pavilion. Could not see the polar bear he was roaming behind rocks. Many lions and giraffe, meerkats and elephants were in a playful mood, bald eagles majestic. One of the great features about this zoo is that they provide many places in the shade to sit if you are elderly or wish to bring a picnic lunch. You can do the whole zoo in about 2 hours or less if you have young legs. They also have a merry-go-round and a small train ride for the really young children, I would say ages 6 and younger would enjoy these rides. Best to buy a season pass as it is a great way to spend a few hours on a warm sunny day.
$11–15
The zoo is all decorated for fall and HALLOWEEN it was really nice out and the animals were out. This weekend a lot of Halloween stuff going on there.
It seems like they've added so much more this year, and all the exhibits were open. We went today and it was just a perfect day! The weather was great and the animals did not disappoint!! We really enjoyed Heritage Farm where we could climb the logs and rocks, and pet the Mule and Cow. Our 2 year old really enjoyed the playground and dinosaurs too!
We had a great time here with the kids. The park was clean and the animals seemed to be in good spirit. I wish there were more staff to explain. The animals and their habitats. We also came when the reptiles area was not in operation so that was disappointing but it was still a great day.

Awesome experience! Was really great and employees were really polite and attentive. The only complaint I had at all, and its my fault kind of. We let our son and daughter play in the dig up a dinosaur play area. When we went to leave, we had to walk all the way back to the beginning to wash up from sand and dirt. Every handwashing station was empty of water, so we had soaped hands for a little bit of a walk to the goat exhibit. We should have checked before letting kids play I guess. Otherwise was excellent. Please fill hand washing stations!
I love the zoo I loved it ever since I was a kid. But what I live the most is when me and my boyfriend went in the bird Forest and feed the bird. It cost $3 and went in it 3 times but it was so worth it.
Yes
I like how they keep expanding every few years, and building new exhibits. Today was packed had to park half mile from entrance, but still worth it for a sunny day and discounted admission price. But overall kids had alot of fun.
Family of 4 cost about $60. We all loved it, all the animals were out! Gorillas were very entertaining. Will be going again soon
What a great time. Nice flat walking paths, clearly marked, beautifully manicured. Clean enclosures, and many animals of varying sizes and world regions.
Lots have changed since I was last there in my teen years ???? some parts haven't changed, and I'm ok with that lol
I really like that zoo.. it's not overwhelmingly.. and the Lion cubs are very playful..
I don't mind helping a good cause BUT my visit today was so very disappointing, even the children I brought were disappointed. The zoo is terrible. Hardly any animals, empty enclosures, the animals that are there are pacing back and forth they are not happy at all. It's so sad you charge so much to get in to the zoo and then to park. The drinks we got were so over priced. We couldn't afford to eat there. The prices were ridiculous. We will not be back. It's funny how other cities can have a zoo with wonderful exhibits with animals and survive without costing a week's pay check for a family. It would be different if it was worth it but it's not. Not a good experience at all. I feel so sad for the animals that are there.
The zoo was fun and interesting. A lot of the exhibits were empty and some of the animals seemed listless. The puppet play they did was also really funny.
Lots of indoor & interactive exhibits are still closed. Sea Lion show is closed. Merry-go-round is closed. Playground is closed. Train is closed. Plan your visit exepctations accordingly.
Not impressed. Half the animals were inside or sleeping and hard to find. Most buildings were closed. Have been every time I go. Gift shop is way over priced for the quality of items. Gate price plus parking was $70 for a family of 4. Not worth the price at all. Its sad really. We Loved going to the zoo. Its just not worth it anymore.
Nothing to complain about! Our daughter spend 20 minutes watching the sea lions ha♡ other favorites were the lion cubs, gorillas, lemurs, and rhinos! It was a perfect day/time to go cuz not crowded at all and not super hot. Would go again!
Very nice zoo. Every one in our group enjoyed the animals. Quiet and cozy.
Pleasant day..loved seeing the animals..miss the elephants..but happy knowing they are at a Sanctuary for Elephants. My husband is in wc and he really enjoyed being there..
Good zoo overall. It seems very land locked and enclosures are a little small. They have some animals that some bigger zoos do not.
Had a great day with my twins! All the animals that you wouldn't see in the summer, we're extremely active. Both polar bears were running and playing in the water. The lioness were grunting and playing with each other. The sea lions and their baby are very playful. The monkeys were playing chase with the kids. They loved it! Would have been 5 stars if the playground had some new pads/mats and protective screens. They were shredded and ripped throughout the playground structure. Otherwise, I'd recommend taking the time to check them out!

Love the Buffalo Zoo! Sad to see the elephants are gone but we understand. New dinosaurs are out around the zoo to see! One even shoots water. Many great exhibits both inside and outside. Large playground, bone digging site and lots of food choice!
Pretty cool place. Lots to see!
Nice zoo but just average compared to other zoos within our region.Although I think Dona is doing a great job running things I respect the fact she left bigger zoo in California 2 come back to humble Buffalo
TIMON WAS PEOPLE WATCHING!! ???? Having a membership is totally worth it. It's a great place to walk around for a couple hours and see some adorable animals!!!
Good zoo overall. It seems very land locked and enclosures are a little small. They have some animals that some bigger zoos do not.
Still mostly an antiquated menagerie. The reptiles were well displayed, as were some of the smaller mammals. Sad to see captive psychosis in the polar bear and snow leopard. Let's get with AZA recommendations for behavioral enrichment people.
Love this zoo! Sealions, otters, artic fox, lions and gorillas are always playful... But nothing compares to the polar bears, Luna and Sakari! Luna is as playful as a puppy! They love to play in the water which is a fantastic viewing area! They have toys they throw and bones that play Marco Polo with! They are a thrill to watch!
Had a nice visit. Although I think the gorillas and Polar bears need new habitats. The Polar bears were pacing back and forth for a while looked very stressed out. The gorillas seemed very unhappy. As well as the lion.

Not the best zoo, not the worst zoo. My daughter loved it, so that's a plus. We did stand in line for food for over 45 minutes. Next time we will bring our own food.
The zoo layout could have been better set up The acclamation however were really active which was nice to see. The for pattern traffic though was set up really bad there were lines to just see animals and to get in to about 1hr waiting in traffic. If they are gonna be open they are gonna have to step up their game and figure something out
Nice, quiet place. Beautiful lanscaping and lots of animals to see. Not overcrowded. General admission is $12, while food offered inside is still reasonably-priced.
I have been to the Buffalo Zoo before but have never experienced it quite like today. All of the animals were up and active like I've never seen before. I wasn't expecting that due to the weather being hot and humid today. It wasn't …
Small zoo..may be better for smaller kids as they won't get disappointed by lack of diversity. If we looked at everything, would probably take 2 hours. We skipped some and was done in 1. The ???? as interesting.
First time back since before the pandemic. Still a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Doesn't require much more than a half day to see everything with kids in tow. For a small zoo, it has a spacious layout. Current reservation requirements for times entry tickets seem like a positive aspect to keep the zoo from getting too crowded. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Seemed like a majority of the animals were napping, but that's nature, too, and might just be a part of their afternoon routines. ???? Will be returning again!
Awesome! Like seriously. They are awesome. Great views, great animals. Services and food is good, people are friendly, location is pretty cool too!
I would not go to this zoo. No animals. Everything was closed. Paid for 2 tickets to walk. No sloth. Animals not active or out.
Great little zoo for toddlers to run around, decent price, bring your own food is a must. They need to address the problem with yellow jackets around the trash bins and food courts.
Such an old zoo with modern updates! The old architecture makes you feel like your in a different era. The selection of animals was very large just wish could have seen some elephants or penguins. But otherwise we had an excellent time despite many areas still being closed off from what can only be assumed due to the pandemic.
A nice zoo with fun activities. The rainforest was cool, and the amphibians area was really well done. Just seems like they focus on a few animals and really work to develop those habitats instead of being really comprehensive. I hope they get more bison. That was always my favorite when I was little

The Buffalo zoo is one of the most amazing places to learn about animals. The staff is kind and knowledgeable the vendors are awesome in the parking was fair. The Buffalo zoo is also COVID it ready with help me create a safe space for visitors. This is an awesome place to take the family have a beautiful and blessed day.❤️
It's not the biggest zoo around, when compared to Pittsburgh or Toronto (which is gargantuan), but it's great for a quick ride down there with the kids to enjoy a day of seeing animals. If you're an adult couple...maybe one visit is enough every other year? If you have small children they will want to go every week without complaint. Also, the Komodo Dragon is awesome to see.
Well, I normally love the zoo and I took my grandson there and he had a great time. But I have to say that I purchased tickets for the Halloween celebration which was supposed to be a special event. The tickets were rather expensive. I realized that it's a donation to the zoo which I do support, however, I felt that for what I was getting it was overpriced. Aside from the trick-or-treat stations where Candy was given out, and I have to say that the candy was not that great, like, chewy type things that little kids shouldn't be eating, all the other so-called special things were things that I could have participated in without having paid the special Halloween celebration price. We did have the option of paying general admission. But, I was led to believe that I could not participate in those other things unless I paid the special Halloween celebration price. I think this was very deceiving. I think it would have been better if people had been allowed to come in at the regular general admission and be encouraged to give a donation in addition to support the zoo. Just my two cents.
Yes
Not large, but a terrific zoo, filled with a lot of animals that aren't often seen. Well done, I highly recommend and I'll definitely be back.

Who doesn't love wild animals caged up against their wills and forced to eat smaller portions than prison inmates at rikers island? On a less serious note, they're nice and safe and obviously content, kind of like the new age version of Noah's Ark if you think about it. Zoos need our support, especially during these times, and the gift shop has those cool mood rings in bracelet format, which I've never seen before, so get em while the gettins good peoples. They got hyenas! How on earth did they get hyenas? Like who's the brave soul that goes in that cage to feed them? What if they didn't like the previous meal from the night before? I don't want to be the guy they tell the next day during feeding time. Alright, overall, a great time. Also, my wife insists bison and buffalo are not the same animal. I say they both taste delicious.
Went at a bad time (around 2pm) as a handful of exhibits didn't seem to be open. Nice small scale zoo but it doesn't compare to the Bronx Zoo or Philadelphia Zoo. I think this Zoo is for the younger crowd. Easy to get to. Make sure to order tickets online before arriving.
We had a great time here with the kids. The park was clean and the animals seemed to be in good spirit. I wish there were more staff to explain. The animals and their habitats. We also came when the reptiles area was not in operation so that was disappointing but it was still a great day.
I love the zoo, they need to up their gsme, there were so few animals out it was sad. I went to support them and would love to keep supporting them if you can see animals. I have donated a huge amount of money in memorials and my brother has an exhibit in his name. Buffalo loves the zoo and we need to work at upping the game.
Good zoo. Been here multiple times, usually get the year long membership. All comes with some free clearasil ride tickets and a free friend pass per visit. Will go again, and again and again.
Great zoo, an older smaller zoo, but modern, great family atmosphere, plenty of spots to enjoy a picnic, they don't care if you bring in food or coolers. Open all year round.
Just always loved this place the polar bears look so happy I could off watched them all day .

We had a great time at the zoo. The staff is very friendly and the new exhibits are great and give you a fantastic view of the animals. If you plan on going more than once I would recommend a season pass as its pretty much the same price as going twice. (Family of four)

Took my niece here for the first time, it was really hot but alot of the animals were still out. She had a fun time and enjoyed herself.
Very nice zoo, we were able to see a lot of animals we haven't seen at other zoos near us. Clean and staff was friendly. Gift shop was a little disappointing but overall an awesome trip and we will return.
Great for family outing , don't eat at slice if you go it's a joke either bring your lunch or eat at wild burger which is much more resonably proceed, terrific exibits... The reptile exibits open soon????
A smaller zoo but filled with interesting animals displayed in creative ways. Allow about two hours fro small children.
Got a family membership for the year. Its 6 of us and it was less than $150 and that includes a guest when ever we come and free attractions .. Great buy......PS baby tiger are out early in the day
I love the zoo! We are always a little disappointed that some exhibits are closed. But that only means they are making improvements. They have a couple restaurants inside the zoo, some kiddie rides, and a free playground if your child needs to burn off extra energy.
Fairly nice zoo, considering the size. Good variety of animals that look well taken care of, and decent facilities (Food, Vending, bathrooms, etc)
Great time with the kids, but do not eat at the place called Slice. Paid 21 bucks for 2 pizzas and dough was not cooked all the way. They were nice enough to give refund but kind of ruined the experience a bit
I changed my mind when I entered and started seeing animals that are not normally seen in a zoo, my children liked me, i recomended for children 10 years or under but honesty is nice for all family
Nice zoo. Most of the exhibits felt old, but it looks like a solid effort is being made to update the zoo. Had a burger and chicken for lunch. It is a bit pricy, but the food is good and proceeds go towards good causes. Don't like that you have to pay for parking. We came from the Rochester area. It is worth the trip once, but I think we would rather go to the zoo there or in Syracuse in the future.
What child doesn't love to do My one year old son enjoyed walking around enjoying the view seeing all the animals they even had caretakers out with animals for kids to touch with feed and play with it was a great experience!
First warm day in Buffalo but zoo for me was a let down. No Elephants but they could use the space for something else. Couldn't get into amphibians exhibit, just wasn't that entertaining for the money spent. Ho-hum.
Allways a fun time for the family the kids loved it nice warm fall day and not too busy
You needed to pay to get in, after you enter them they let you know that the tigers, lions and reptiles are under construction and cant be viewed. Then you get a map and list of extras. To view elephants, rhinos and zebras you need to pay an additional $10 per person. per animal. The exotic birds are $2 per person to view. The sea lion training show was 5 minutes long. I cant believe we drove from Rochester for this. Never again
The animals seem well cared for and happy. It was nice to see the winter animals enjoying the snow. Some animals were inside to stay warm.
I was hoping to show my grandchildren the zoo I remembered. They were mostly looking forward to seeing elephants and monkeys. Neither was there. On the plus side,, hey were thrilled by the giraffes and gorillas. The Halloween decorations were great but I felt bad that they could not participate in the special events. $30 for 6 people just was not in this Grandma's budget. They were bored after an hour and we left. Next time I'll drive to Rochester.
I have been going to the zoo since I was a kid. It's nice to see it being updated. I enjoy every visit to the zoo! They constantly have new experiences or events
Not a bad place to spend a few hours, but the lack of exhibits currently on display was disappointing. The newer animal displays offer a variety of options for the resident beasts, but check on their website to ensure you're able to see everything you are interested in viewing. Print a map and bring it with you.
A little zoo that is pretty quick to get through, but is clean and the animals seem well taken care of.
It was ok....maps on on phones only...not easy to use....does not indicate where you are in the zoo...you are on your own. Very pricey for foods and souvenir shop prices way too high for items that are available.

Nice place but many of the cells were under maintenance and many are closed due to non season. Wanted to see kangaroo n elephants which we couldnt see there. But sea seal, polar bear were really nice.
Bone zone closed, but still a great time. No elephants, and the playground was closed. Several paths were closed as well, put on the whole worth a trip
We went for family night they had for Pre-k students and I must say it was nice being it was free for student and family. The kids was also able to Trick -or - Treat while parents was able to get information about different things it was like a health fair. Definitely enjoyed ourselves an kids got a lot of goodies while getting to see some animals.
It was a nice cool day and most of the arctic critters were out and about. Had a blast, as always!
The zoo was nice. There aren't a ton of animals but there are plenty enough to make it an enjoyable day. It's a bummer that there are no elephants right now but the young rhino calf, Monica was very cute and more than made up for it. I wish there were more people there as well but we went on a week day when I assume they have less business. I was excited to see the Sand Cats, I'd never seen one before. All and all a great time.
We've made it a tradition to bring my son to the zoo on his birthday in the morning when weather permits. Unfortunately, this year my son woke up on his birthday ill and not feeling well. We had already pre-bought our admission tickets days prior to his birthday and I was worried we were going to lose out on our visit and money, but I called the zoo and was able to reschedule our visit, they were very accommodating! This zoo is very small but clean and tidy. The animals appear to be well cared for although I can't help but feel bad for the polar bear who didnt seem to be enjoying the 80-90 degree weather outside, kinda sad because you know that's not the natural habitat or temperatures they should have to be exposed to, wish they would change the polar bears living space to something more appropriate in the summer months. Absolutely love the rain forest building, it's my son's favorite to visit when we are there, there is always something to new to see. Parking seemed ample and we were able to get a spot close to the entry/exit, just wish they charged a single flat rate parking fee, instead of per hour (or 2 cant recall exactly) but I know we were just a few minutes over the minimum fee and got bumped into the next pricing tier because we were waiting for the cars ahead of us to pay which felt like it took foever. Also, there should NOT be parking on both sides of the street where you pull in and out to the zoo's entrance parking lot, Absolutely ridiculous!! Cars were so close to hitting each other, I've never seen anything like that before!! I can't even believe that is even allowed! People were yelling at each other through their car windows to move over! All in all it's a nice place to visit for a couple of hours. My son always seems to have a nice time. Avoid weekends if possible to avoid the larger crowds.
This zoo is a bit small and there are not many animals. Many places are closed and some facilities are broken.
