We offer you all the reviews of real people who use the products of Cavendish Beach, Prince Edward Island National Park (Zoo) in the area close to Charlottetown (Canada).
At the present the business receives a rating of 4.7 out of 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is nearly the highest, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the rating is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Zoo belongs to the category of National park.
Beautiful beach. Usually the red pebbles/stones are cleared during the summer for swimmers. It's still too early for swimming so the stones have not been cleared but it made for a gorgeous looking beach.
Nice sunny sandy beach. Before you walk to the beach talk all your supplies ,shades, mats, food etc. If not it is a 20 min walk both ways from the beach to the parking lot. There are changing rooms and fresh water showers. Few picnic tables available in the common area where there's is a shed and showers. It was one of the Best sandy shallow beach that we visit. Safe and fun.
The weather was perfect. The waves were huge. What a beautiful spot in PEI
Nice beach! I recommend going early to beat the crowd. There is a small canteen at the entrance that sells snacks, drinks, and ice cream. There are also change rooms, washrooms, and an outdoor shower area. But once you enter the beach area, it's all beach!
Stunning beach. Nice dunes, very nice sand, picturesque, nice washroom facilities
Absolutely visit here !!!! Omg beautiful !!
This beach is beautiful. out of all the beaches I've been to in the mertimes it is busy there but I just walked to the back of the beach to avoid all of humans. The view from the beach is amazing and there is food nearby (Cows and Beavertails) there might be more but I know for sure that those stores are there. I don't know if there's a bathroom nearby the beach but there might be bathrooms near Beavertails.
$15.00 to go to a beach, you're better off going to one of the other beaches around the area.
Truly picturesque beach. Clean, neat and tidy.
Amazing Beach the sand was really soft no jellyfish water was really clear and had no seaweed. Great canteen and showers to shower off after
Beautiful beach not that far from Charlottetown but is quite overrated by tourist agencies
Lovely expanse of a beach. Lots of parking. This is part of a national park. But if you come after 6pm, it's free (tip). We came on a very windy day, so could not enjoy the beach much. But I can see it being extremely popular on a nice warm summer day. The dunes walk should not be missed.
This is one of the best beaches in the maritime but is quite busy. Come before 9 if you want to stake your spot. The red colour or the sand is nice and you can get a good view of the cliffs as well. The foot wash station is a little walk from the beach along a board walk so plan accordingly.
Grew up on this beach. The facilities are basic, but it's warm and well supervised with ample parking.
Sunset is very nice there
Nice beach. I enjoyed. Recommend it
A majestic sunset on the boardwalk!
Should be free of charge!~!!! It's a joke for National Park
A very well maintained national park. There are washrooms, change rooms, as well as a small canteen. Trails are clearly marked. Would recommend to others!
Can't find anything better. Beautiful and vibrant beach. You have to pay to enter, but you'll use the pass for free up to 24 hours, and stay as long as you need. Accessible for disabled people. I think more shower spots are needed. A couple of restaurants nearby. Great family experience.
The beach was busier than I like, but for a tourist area I expected it. There are many attractions and family activities to enjoy close by, Anne of Green gables historic site, mini putt, golf and a phenomenal haunted house, if you are into that type of thing. I think I even saw a water park.
Beautiful place glad I was able to visit.
Super tourist attraction! We visited so many other spots that were peaceful and serene that this shocked our senses. Beach was clean, facilities were available, and if we go back we will walk the dunes boardwalks. Definitely need to see the red cliffs in contrast to the "white" sand.
Such a beautiful place. Could spend forever on this beach . Clean restroom and nice boardwalk. Truly a beautiful place
Calm and beautiful sandy beach ???????? you have walking trails along the beach. Sunset views are awesome. ????
Some say it's too busy but it was very fine when we were there
Beautiful scenery! Lovely sand to walk in, sandy area for swimming, beautiful dunes behind you. Seashell hunting, relaxing in the sun, walking through the waves, and swimming are all available to you. Bring a good camera as the scenes are worth capturing!
A very clean beach with warm water, soft sand and good facilities. The red cliffs are beautiful. The only drawback of this beach is that it's more crowded in comparison to the other beaches.
Fantastic beach! Bathrooms, shower rinse station on boardwalk. Tons of space for families!
Beautiful beach and peaceful place!
Nice view on the cliff. We sat on the right side closer to the cliff and there were not too many people. The sand was fine
You don't see places like this everywhere! Was breathtaking definately drive thru both areas of the park
Great Beach to come to. They have outdoor showers, a boardwalk to go to the beach, a lifeguard supervised area, and a pretty long beach. There is a trail near the beach leading to other areas, which you can go by foot or your own bike. The water was great, but the water can get wavy. Normal for the ocean. Recommend to come here.
Great place to spend some rinse with the family. It can get quite crowded on sunny days. Restrooms, showers, and snack bar available.
Memorable time spent on Cavendish beach lots of sand and rocks.
Cavendish Beach, PEI, in April, is almost deserted. A perfect time to just close your eyes, dig your toes in the sand and let nature guide you along the sandy shore, shaped and beatified by nature. I did not swim! Too cold. I enjoyed an off season walk and breathed in the air that Mother Nature gives us. A visit to Cavendish Beach cleaned your soul.
Cold and unsuitable due to arctic red jellyfish which sting. View was pretty but we came to ????♂️????
A beautiful clean beach with warm soft sands, red cliffs overlooking and a lovely board walk next to it. Everything is perfect with the exception of the lack of care that is shown to the sand dunes which were once well guarded. We saw multiple people on it. No signs or gate in front of hill. Please put more protection around it, since they are easily destroyed just by walking on them. Stay off the dunes! Don’t be that guy.
B + L = ♥️
Awesome beach in Cavendish,PEI. The entire Northern part of the island is beautiful showcased by this beach. The water was warm and the shallow beach extends very far into the ocean. The waves were pretty calm for a family friendly day at the beach without fear of trouble. Yes it is a little more crowded than others beaches in the area but the long coastline allowed for privacy for those who are willy to venture out a little further from the crowds, the option was there. I would make this beach a must see destination as the national park offers much more than just the beach.
Beautiful beach!! Facilities were updated recently. Lots of sand and good access for all...
An amazing Narional park. Very simple installations. Here it's all about nature and fun. Beautiful sandy beach. Do keep in mind it's bit windy here. So bring some pins to keep your towels down. Water is cold but hey, it is the north-atlantic after all...
A beautiful beach to check out.
Best sunset in PEI. Wonderful place to spend time.
One of the best Atlantic beaches i have visited. Nice clear water but a little cold, Overall it was a wonderful experience. Just make sure to check their website for jellyfish warning lol
Great views and a beautiful beach .They have number of washrooms and shower rooms .The temperature was ok .we went as a group. We had a great time there. Its a clean beach and lots of area to occupy large number of people. We really enjoyed. One of the best places to visit if u r going to Prince Edward Island.
Place is good but the security for vehicle is very bad.my car window smashed by thief.never left anything visible in your car.
Loved the place so much ????
We visited PEI last year (2018) and love the island, its remind me of Iceland in Europe
Gorgeous beach. Water was 20 degrees today.
Beautiful, clean beach, red sands, no rocks as you walking in the ocean. Shallow waters to a certain distance. We were there last year on vacation to East Coast and went back again this year.
Beautiful Sandy Beach that stretches quite far in all directions. It also connects to fairly nice walking and biking trail. Full washroom and rinsing facilities on site.
Nice beach within the national park. Good facilities.
This is particularly hard to rate As a guy from manly beach I'm used to white sand and lots of surf. For pictures and walking around the dunes it's great with clean facilities. For actually going into the water well I went out but didn't stay long
Beautiful beach ❤
Really lovely. Clean facilities, very accessible and good amount of sandiness
Excellent love it
I haven’t been there but I rate the village after I watched “ Anne with an E” series on Netflix, which makes me put visiting PEI on my wish list ❤️????
Great beach, could see for miles, just wish it was warmer so we could've gone for a dip.
One of the most stunning beaches in all of Canada. Beautiful water and beach, but the most impressively is the access ramps for physical disabilities. Would recommend for anyone looking to get a taste of island beaches.
Amazing beach to explore with great views. If you like geology and the formation/erosion of rocks, it’s a great place to visit. Also very affordable!
It's nice but can be very busy. Water is a bit deeper than some other beaches so we found it to be a bit more cooler. Depends on what you are looking for ????
Favorite Canadian beach...best sand!!
Excellent experience! Great sandy beach and clean water. You van fid lots of shells just left of the guarded beach.
The devastation from Hurricane Dorian caused alot of changes to the campground but overall still a fine campground and beach.
This is a great beach! The life-guards on staff were very friendly and the sand was nice and clean. Smoking laws are politely reinforced here to keep the air clean for your family as well. Water both times we went this summer was very clear and free of Jellyfish, so the kids loved being out in the water. All around a great experience!
Fine sand, great for families. Lifeguard on duty and marked swimming area. Showers, toilets and a kiosk for ice-cream and snacks. Well-organized and marked parking. Worth the entrance fee to the park.
Warm water to swim in, and a really clean beach It was still early on in the season, so the beach was not packed yet
So very pretty!!
I did love the rocks formations very much and would have enjoyed it more if I did not injured myself couple days prior. The food at the restaurant was fresh and delicious.
A beautiful beach with a beautiful and accessible boardwalk. Facilities were clean.
Beautiful beach. We loved it but the park entrance fee was a bit much just to go to the beach.
Incredible beaches. Beautiful views. Ocean was great. Has showers along the peir, posts of water and tide conditions along with temperatures. Stores along the boardwalk. Red sands. Beautiful cliff views. Lots of parking. Cost for entrance (approx $15 for 2 adults) lots of parking and spots, world famous Cavendish Beach is a must. Highly recommended on the list of "Things to see on the Island"
Very nice beach. Water was 21 degrees. Lots of swimming. Sand was soft and clean as far as sand goes.
An excellent beach. A true “sea” experience; you’ll see some seaweed and gunk pushed up from the ocean. 4 kilometres down the beach, one can find the vulnerable piping plover species (for avid bird watchers). Ospreys, great blue herons, numerous gulls and bank swallows are spotted here. You do have to pay to enter - it is $7.80 per person or you can pay $15.80 for a family. Seniors and children have discounted pricing.
Omg the views are beyond amazing. The sand is fine and so soft. You need to stop here if your in PEI
Cavendish National park and beach. Wow what great facility. 1 beautiful beach with sandy brown sand, lifeguard stand and swim area. Trails. Great facilities including warm shower and change room.
Very scenic with sevaral beaches big and small where you can access the Gulf waters
This beach is super busy and it’s for a reason. It’s got a great changing facility, fabulous beach, amazing views, warm water with fun waves and a life guard on duty. There is a trail off of the parking lot. It has a floating boardwalk that takes you over the ‘Lake of Shining Waters’.
Changerooms showers are colder than the Atlantic. Lifeguards need to be more attentive. Otherwise everything was beautiful!
Amazing windswept beach with huge waves and gorgeous sand dunes. It was raining but great for a walk. Happened across a giant communal sandcastle being built, organised by the park workers - all in all a v nice experience.
Nice beach to spend the day with family!
Amazing place. Really beautiful. It was very busy and too many people in the water. It has washrooms and changing rooms.
Beautiful beach!
Beautiful place to watch sunrise. Lots of parking and warm early morning washrooms. Nice boardwalk and if you are lucky, the occasional early morning fox.
Absolutely beautiful evening!!
Beautiful! Worth the visit, even on a cloudy day!
Beautiful beach. Water is nice for swimming not very cold in August. We loved swimming in it.
What a beautiful beach. The water was way warmer than Shediac where they claim it's the warmest in Canada lol
Breathtaking!
Beautiful expansive beach, lots of the “red rocky coastline” we were looking for. Lots of parking, but pretty hot when we went in August so make sure to bring lots of water and sunscreen. Snack bar didn’t have too many options, so recommend bringing your own food. Water was fairly cold even in August (I’m used to Great Lakes temperatures), so don’t expect it to be super cosy. Pictures I attached are of a trail you can take to rocky area slightly away from beach.
Amasing . Love the view and super clean
Great beach- supervised in summer with a roped off swimming area. The day we went there were some surfy waves for the kids to have fun jumping into. If you walk further down tons of space to spread out. Soft sand and clean area.
Even with the storm, in early September, water was warm enough to swim, although it was forbidden due to sea conditions. Nice place with bathrooms, changing rooms, showers to clean off the sand and yes, you do have to pay but it's only 7.90 per adult so not the end of the world.
Beautiful! Glorious! Love it! Walking the red rocks is a great adventure and the beach is super clean and sand is super soft!
Construction still under way, but great spot.
What an amazing beach! The water was so warm.
Easy drive from Charlottetown. Clean, relaxing. Great place to spend a day at the beach.
Beautiful huge red sand beach. Shallow (although not terribly warm) water makes it great for kids to frolic. Lots of room for visitors and the bathrooms & changerooms are clean. Great place to visit!
The beach looks spectacular and very calm, and most people stay there. But don't overlook the beautiful boardwalk and red rock cliff area where we dip in and see many small crabs. On the downside, it is somehow hotter or more humid than other parts of the island.
It was great I loved it.The water is the perfect temperature to swim and it’s best to go when it’s warm out so that you can lay on the sand ,swim in the water or just take a walk. And after you can always go to eat a delicious cows ice cream so that you can cool down a bit.I really recommend it !????
Nice beach! Can walk to red cliffs as well, costs $7.90 per person to enter, pass good for 24 hours
Beautiful spot to take the family. Lots of parking, clean restrooms and a spot to fill up your water. It is a lot of walking if you have somebody that has any difficulties.
Beautiful park. The beach is really nice and I wish we brought our bathing suits!!
One of the best beach on pei. No rocks at all but can be very crowded
Awesome beach. Great sand and lots of open space. We make a trip here every year from New Brunswick.
Amazing views from several stops in the drive! Recommended
I'm not a beach expert, but the dunes, boardwalks, endless soft sandy beach and cycling trail help make a visit a delicious adventure.
Packed solid with people. Very nice area but too many people for my liking. There are just as nice locations on the island. Like Panmure Beach
Just across the street from the beach. The owners were awesome! The housekeeper went above of what was expected. She grabbed the provincial park pass for us so we can see all of what the island has to offer. Quiet cottage with everything you need for a long stay. Laundry on site. If we go back to the island this is where we will return.
Is there really bad beach in PEI???? NO! Only drawback is the $15.00 you have to pay to park and you may have to walk a bit after that depending on how busy it is.
Beautiful beach. Great for walking and swimming.
Beach really beautiful to spend your sunny days.
We visited off season in November. The views are stunning. Definitely worth a visit.
Great beach - life guards on duty. Water was clean and refreshing. Lots of parking available - clean washroom and change facilities. Small concession stand with popsicles and drinks. Fun day!
Fun area for families. Lots to do with all the fun parks etc. Beautiful beach too.
Beautiful spot no matter the season!
Late start for breakfast 800am not good if you want an early start to your day. Pool only opens at 1100am.
All the photos of Cavendish Beach are taken at this section of Cavendish National Park. There is an entrance fee that allows you to enter the North Rustic Beach area, as well. At Cavendish, you have a roped off area that has Lifeguards. At the entrance to the beach, there is washrooms as well as change rooms and a canteen style restaurant. The boardwalk to the beach has showers to rinse off after your beach day. There are stairs as well as a ramp for those with disabilities, that leads to a wheelchair accessible ramp to the water's edge. If you want there are at least 3 special water chairs available for those who need assistance. The water was wonderful, with sandbars at low tide, for digging and making sand castles. There is plenty of room for everyone at this popular beach. I would suggest you go early (a pass let's you in before those who pay that day), gates open around 11, I think, and stay late. Check open and closing dates prior to going. They were working on a new toll booth when we were there. Have a wonderful day! We did.
Awesome beach. Neat to see the cliffs and such. Lots of shells scatted about. Nice trail to the beach as well.
Beautiful beach with lots of space so you aren't crammed in next to people.
Been to Cavendish numerous times, this was first time on the actual beach!
Beautiful scenery and warm water. A little busy at times, but there are areas where there are fewer people as well.
Most beautiful beach and wonderful views nearby. The sand is so good and clean. Its easy to reach from the town. The wash and rest area are also very clean and water availability always to help clean from the sand. Good place to go with families and friends. Lots of greenery and spots for photographers. The fresh atmosphere will make us relaxed and stress free. Lots of Parking spaces available .Totally recommend.
If you go on a sunny day the sea is amazing! There's is a little forest near by around 6 min of walking but its really calm and chill to look around! Amazing place to go if you are near by!
Easy access to the beach for all also handicap.
Great beach. Many good times there.
Beautiful if sometimes crowded beach. Great for kids but definitely not the best beach on the island.
So beautiful
Not officially open yet today so it was nice to have the place to ourselves. It was a nice walk and lovely to watch the waves
Third time here in my life. Always want to spend more time when I visit. It's incredibly picturesque.
Nice beach but too rocky to get in to swim, wouldn't go back, PEI has nicer beaches
Love the floating docks and trails and the red beach was great! Cute little shops at the beach where you can grab a snack as well.
The water is unusually clear for the Gulf of St. Lawrence. There are lots of cool rock formations and small cliffs to explore. This is definitely a heavily visited spot on PEI so expect the crowds.
Beautiful family beach.
We came off season, very few people on the beach. Water was perfect temperature.
We were only here for a short time due to travelling constraints but enjoyed what we saw. The beach was clean and well monitored from what we saw. There is a great near by cliff like area for good hiking and awesome rock formations.
good beach! free now, but looks like they are constructing tolls. Watch out for near future as they will charge.
Lots of seaweed that day but it was a nice beach. There are showers.
Beautiful beach. Better than Florida in my opinion.
A national park and a treasure at that. This beach has plenty of parking, changing rooms separate from the washrooms. A clean boardwalk up to the beach with a fantastic view. The water is a bit chilly but on a hot summer day it's just what you need.
Nice beach. Has shower and washroom facilities. All for free!
Wonderful white sand beach, i loved the views and the beach was beautiful, it isn’t however accessible which was a huge downfall for us.
The lobster roll is a must. It's the best roll I've had across New Brunswick, NS and PEI Fries are good as well and the coleslaw is great if you like the creamy version. The sunflower seed addition to the slaw was a good surprise.
This beach is amazing and so close to Charlottetown! Good facilities and parking. Beach is beyond clean. Canteen is covid closed so take your own snacks!
As far as beaches go, this one is beautiful and a worthwhile stop if you're visiting PEI. It was particularly windy the day we visited but still managed to have our family picnic. The water was too cold for any of us. Perhaps it gets warmer later on in the summer.
Absolutely fantastic beach. Wheelchair accessible right to the water too!
A beautiful sandy beach. The water is a bit too cold for most parents but doesn't seem to be a issue for the young kids.
Amazing beach. It was raining the day we were there but it was the kind of beach l could spend hours on just looking at red sand stone pebbles and rock formations.
Gorgeous white sand beach! We went before peak season so only a few others. Understand why this is the #1 spot for tourists.
A vast Atlantic beech with sand dunes and hence deeper sand levels. Thus fantastic opportunity for sand artists. Rather sparse crowd provides peaceful atmosphere. Large parking space, a restaurant, clean toilets, drinking and washing water facilities complete the amenities. A few minutes drive from various lodging of Cavendish. However a convenience store is missing.
Beautiful beach with a great view and atmosphere.
Amazing views in the National Park. Camping is quite comfortable, affordable and close to the beach. Lots of places for tents and RV's. Plenty of washrooms, showers and laundry. Grass is manicured and garbage cans emptied on a routine schedule. Main office sells I've and wood for campers as well as a limited amount of snacks. Staff put on information specials in the small Amphitheater located close to the beach. Great place to spend a few days.
Awesome beach, beautiful, just beware that if you go mid July you are not getting in the water to swim, jellyfish will sting you like crazy. Great place to go though, lots of things for the kids.
Beautiful beach.but too windy and cold when we went there.Ample parking space, clean change rooms and showers.there were no options to buy food and refreshments.a tiny store with some coffee and hot dogs
Nice beach for perfect sunny day
Cold water even in August, but beautiful beach with soft red clay underfoot in the clear water and lots of sea life.
We couldn't visit ot during the day time as we had our dog along. Pets are not allowed on any National Park beaches on PEI. We went back the next day to see the sunset. It was right after the thunderstorm. It was quite deserted and beautiful. People started pouring jn after we got there. Definitely a place to relax and unwind. I think you will be able to get both views at the beach...sunset and sunrise. The facilities are great. The washrooms were clean and the boardwalk is gorgeous. The grass makes this beach special. Keep mind though that there are no tress close to the beach, so take what you need for shade.
Amazing beach. Lots of people is not my fave part, but overall totally beautiful.
The Beach was beautiful. And I loved the tent they had set up with employees that showed the water animals and shells and allowed us to touch them. My 4 year old boy learned so much and they were so great with him!
+19C and it's 16th October!!! BEAUTIFUL day for a walk along the beach. Love it!!
A little crowded but even awesome.
Loved everything about this place, beautiful beaches, great trails, will visit again.
Beautiful clean sandy beach!
Very nice beach. Fine sand , lots of parking and beautiful views. Excellent for kids. Cons: some people can find the place to crowded, you have to pay ~7$ to access the beach and it is often windy, so, expect some problem with your umbrella…
Closed for the winter. Was quite windy, had trouble holding my phone straight at the beach. Washrooms are also closed. The municipal office connected to the Cavendish information centre let me use the washroom. Tim's and gas station in town are also closed
Clean, warm, and with an on-duty lifeguard. Beautiful swimming area.
Very long and winding beach. Very good for walks and swimming. Lifeguard on duty during the day. Main Beach does need to be combed as there are alot of sharp broken shells and garbage.
Went at 8:30 in the morning. It was so quiet and peaceful and stunningly beautiful. Was thrilled to see the beach wheelchairs and access to the water for the wheelchairs.
Pristine Beach with ample walking and Beach territory. There's a life guard area as well! Very shallow sandy decline so the kids can safely wade out pretty far. Lots of parking and on the day we went there was a hands on three hour workshop on sand castle building! Clean washrooms and change rooms. Such a beautiful place to come here! If you are looking for an even quieter spot, head down the road a bit to Ross Lane!
Excellent beach that goes on for miles but unfortunately it was very windy and we were getting pelted in the face with sand so we didn't stay long. There were about 5 Bald Eagles flying around which was pretty cool. Unfortunately not everyone can read so they bring their dogs to the beach.
There is no place like this Beach! Beautiful!
Beautiful beach, easy parking, clean facilities. Lifeguards on duty. Lots of people here.
Beautiful beach with boardwalks close by. Makes for great sunset/rise pictures. Nice to go for a swim, walks or tan.
An absolutely beautiful space. Change rooms and washrooms are clean. There's a canteen on site. Lifeguards on duty. Loved it there!
Very clean beach, clean sand, water is also clean. You can see through the water, like crystal clear. It’s the best beach I’ve ever seen. The pride of Prince Edward Island????????
Pics speak for itself. On our 20th anniversary this is my husbands 1st time ever seeing a ocean. The views are just breathtaking. If ever we come back to P.E.I we will definitely be back.
The water was 17c, maybe it was the wrong time of the year.
If you're in New Brunswick this is a "must do". Great beach that stretches for miles of soft white sand. The water here is much warmer than in many parts of the maritime provinces making it a very popular stop. Lots to do in the Cavendish area including restaurants, hotels, gas stations, shops etc.
Such an amazing beach. The Water was amazing and really enjoyed our stay here.
Beautiful walking on this very calm red beach.
Beautiful, stunning! No crowd, easy to walk through and enjoy the get away feelings!
Clean. Not many people. Only advice I could give is go to the bathroom up top. There isn't any on the beach an if you save the walk you might be that much better
Beach is clean and water a pleasant temperature (was there in July). Paid entry through national park, but free after 6:00pm.
Beautiful beach, but quite busy. There are other beaches along the north shore that are just as nice - just less busy and more private. I’d recommend adventuring around.
LOTS of people. Under construction as of August 7th and parking is free! There’s sand dunes/ walking trail throughout and a large beach. A canteen, showers and bathrooms are available. No dogs permitted on the beach, but expect to see smuggled small dogs
Nice and calm beach. The only issue is that if you go during a damp day there are Too many bugs flying around.
February 20th, about the only time of year that you can have the beach to yourself. Lots of tracks around though, boot prints, skis and snowshoes
Amazing feeling when you are in bare feet to have a walk on the beach !
Very nice, well kept sandy beach. Pretty crowded, and overall the experience was not that different from our average beach days in Nova Scotia.
Love this place for many reason!
Amazing views!!! With red earth, everything is red the dirt is red, the rocks and , the sand! Now to the next part. The Fox's. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THEM!!! MAKES them dependent on people also make them run towards cars. It's very cool hanging out with Fox's just don't feed them!
Really nice beach!
We visited in the middle of October so everything was closed and we weren't required to pay for entry. The weather was rainy and windy but we still went for a walk along the beach and it was nice that there weren't any people around
Beautiful place, lots of space and usually populated. Great place to take pictures of the scenery.
Great beach. Great amenities including change rooms and bathrooms. However each time I swim on PEI beaches I leave the water with a scummy residue on my skin that I haven't ever seen swimming on other salt water beaches...
Good place for family. Great beach where you can walk about 100m in to sea.
Nice and safe for kids
This beach is amazing. Our 12 year old daughter got to swim in the sea for her first time
Just a wonderful place to visit. Beautiful sunsets and beaches.
Very nice beach with soft sands and waters around 20 degrees C on summer. An amazing section of the beach with red rocks gives a special view.
Beautiful and uncrowded, free parking (when we were there) showers and toilets nearby.
Amazing beach... But really crowded for social distance practices. Too bad there are only 7-8 weeks of good summer weather. ????
Best beach in eastern Canada
One of the best beaches in the Maritimes. Clean, clear water, beautiful sand.
Awesome beach I'm from outside the province and did not realize you had to pay to go to the beach which is something you do not have to do in nova Scotia
Visit every time I'm home. I love that you can walk for miles. The new stairs and walkways are a great improvement.
Cool sand dunes
Beach was clean, and had very good facilities. Defi itely had a great time with my wife
Great place to go for a swim and sun bathe on the beach. Very clean.
Wonderful place to go. The beach is clean and the washrooms are fine. There is hot water in the showers, which I find amazing after walking on the sand or bathing in the sea. Entry is free after 5:00 pm.
Nice Beach, little busy. Walking trails are fantastic too.. dogs can at least enjoy those ????
What a lovely place. Canada has some great beaches too.
This is the go to beach for all the tourists so it's very crowded and a bit unorganized. The facilities are nice and the beach water is really warm.
Trully amazing beach, huge and wide, clean , perfect for holidays for families , the water is not deep , very safety
Really nice beach. The men's bathroom can get quite gross. Entrance fee required per person.
Pretty nice. Large facilities. Big beach looonnng boardwalk. Lots of parking. Wheelchair friendly. They can even float a paraplegic with a special float chair
I LOVE Cavendish Beach. Dunes are breathtaking, beach is soft and sandy, it’s lifeguarded and there’s a swimming area marked out. Perfect place for a walk over by the island’s red rocky shores, and in August the water way perfectly wavy and warm! A must see/do on PEI!
Really nice place! Renovated bathrooms, showers, ect. Water is nice but a little crowded
It was very clean and we enjoyed the long walks
Huge beach with lots of space. Beautiful scenery. There are public washrooms open here even after the info center has closed for the season. Good access to biking/hiking trails. Be prepared to do a little walking.
Amazing views! Just so pretty!!
Magnificent nothing to envy the Spanish cost of andalousia
Lovely beach with amenities at entrance. No shade so bring an umbrella. Nice beach to walk
7 hours of pure bliss and beauty!!!!
Very busy place on a Thursday afternoon in August, but the great facilities and trail system attached, along with the fact we already have a Parks Canada annual pass, made this beach an easy choice on our vacation.
Best stop on PEI. If you go anywhere plan to spend 4-5 hours here. Beach, trails, bring a lunch and enjoy the day...cost about $8 per adult and youth under 17 are free in 2019. You must visit this location.
The beach is awesome. A little rocky for 30 ft and then soft sand. Great views and facilities.
Such a beautiful beach! Can't wait to go again
Excellent beach, no rocks, beautiful view and family friendly!
Spectacular view of the striking red cliffs so special to PEI. The beach sand itself is soft and makes for a lovely walk. There were lots of families enjoying the water as well. Picnic tables, washrooms and water fountains are available. There is a pretty walk (Dunelands) over to the more rugged landscapes that I highly recommend. This short and very easy walk goes over MacNeill Pond which has some educational blurbs about the ecosystem. At the other end of the walk, there is a boardwalk in place to protect the dunes and promote public safety as there is a danger of cliff erosion. Nevertheless, I saw countless people (with their kids!) strolling on the off-limits area. Not cool, guys. How about we follow the rules so that future tourists can also enjoy it?
Nice beach located in an easily accessible area. We went close to the end of season so it was not crowded. If you're into taking nice photographs, this would be a great addition to your trip.
Beautiful beach. Friendly environment. Clean and wonderful place with family & friends, on a hot summer day :)
Great place to take the family. I wish people would collectively do their part by taking their garbage with them to keep this beautiful beach clean.
What a beautiful setting! PEI at its best. It quickly turned into a hot and sunny fall day but fortunately the beach was quiet
Amazing Beach, amazing views, would have loved to spend all day on the beach.
Beautiful during sunset
Amazing!! Gets busy after 1pm. Get there early. There is a little place to buy food. Great shower facilities and bathroom.
loved it, lots of beautiful rocks for those who collects them lots of colors and you can walk on the other side to see the Dunes sand, it's a maybe half an hour walk
Beautiful beach on the North shore of PEI. We love visiting here.
Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I've encountered
Very nice beach, sand is super good, water is super clean, and if you walk longer, the red layered rocks is wonderful. And the trail is the widest i ever walked.
How can you not like this place - not crowded, great scenery and clean water!
It has everything you need. Places to change, snack bar, boardwalk to a sandy beach, showers to clean off the salt and sand, big waves. We had to pay about $7 per person to get into the park, but it was worth it to us for the amazing beach and amenities. It is also wheelchair accessible, including a ramp to beach and an accessible carpet-thingy to get to the water.
Awesome. Lots of beach side - sand space. Water not too deep which is good for all the family. Red fine sand. Can walk to the park nearby. Great place for panoramic views. Supervised beach means there are lifesavers all the time. Lots of parking places. Changing rooms, showers and toilets also available at the entrance. Cannot compare with the Caribbean but work while you're in Canada. One of my favorites beaches in PEI.
Beautiful beach which highlights sand dunes, red sand, ocean waves, marsh land, and a floating dock over a lovely pond area! Public washrooms, lots of parking, it truly was a beautiful place to visit!
Our last night on vacation we came down to Cavendish beach to watch the sunset and it was beautiful. We walked along the beach and sat in the sand as the sun set. I would have liked to spend more time here, hopefully next time.
Beautiful but most importantly, clean
Excellent boardwalk and wonderful beach. Great walking trails.
Any season, you can find activities to fit your needs, the beauty of the land.
Maintained by Parks Canada on the north side of PEI. The prominent red sand dunes are everywhere. A new welcome center has been completed together with new cedar walkways. Good to know that your entrance fees are going to something tangible. This beach can be windy though so plan your visit accordingly. Unless it's a warm and humid day, water temps can also be cold.
First time there, it really is a beautiful beach to experience.
What a gorgeous beach! A must see in PEI.
just as beautiful as I remember. having walkways is great as I have had knee surgery and stairs are difficult.
What an amazing experience, this place is gorgeous. The water was clear and the beach was very clean. Within a short walk on the beach there are some magnificent rock formations that are spellbinding. If you're in PEI definitely check this place out
This place was beaaaaautiful! We had an overcast day and one if our expeditions in the area was cancelled in the morning so we went to walk along the beach instead. It was pretty early when we got there (around 8a) and we had the whole place to ourselves. We didn't go in the water cause it was very windy and cool, but we had an absolutely lovely walk and enjoyed the scenery very much. The sandy areas had nice soft sand, and bring some runners for the trails. This was one of my favourite stops in PEI. It does get busy later in the day (and I'm sure also during nicer weather), we saw lots of tour buses stop by when we biked by again in the afternoon. Still a lovely stop, would go again, and I think pictures are even nicer on an overcast day. Stunning!
During our visit to PEI, we stopped at the beach with our friends and their kids. This is an amazing beach with great sand and breathtaking scenery. I would love to come back here next time and enjoy the sun and the view.
Beautiful place, go visit if you can
Amazing white sandy beaches
Beautiful Duneland Trails, Homestead trails, Public beach, wash houses, canteen, beautiful Cavendish beach & red sands. Lovely !!
Best beaches in the Maritimes in this area! Beautiful red sand and the water temperature is excellent. Close to many amenities
Awesome beach. But not accessible for all. Need to add a wide ramp asap!!
Needs benchs or picnic tables on the beach for those that don't want to swim
Beautiful beach and National Park. This is typically a summer and tourist destination and can be quite busy. The beach is great in season, but the overall area has much more to offer. There are walking trails and bike area that can be utilized the majority of the year. Service are only provided in summer months, so be sure to plan ahead. Well worth exploring and spending some time.
Amazing beach! Impressive amenities too for such a small area
The beach has new facilities and a nice new accessible Boardwalk down to the beach. The facilities are awesome, clean and well appointed. There's also a canteen onsite. The beach is monitored by lifeguards in some areas and the beach is nice and sandy.
Very nice walk on the beach at twilight!
Really beautiful red sand beeches with lots of interesting natural features, seaweed, birds, tiny crabs (if you can find them) and a really nice view. Coastal meadow is also interesting and lots of cool interpretive signage. Definitely worth seeing if you're already in PEI.
Beautiful beach and red cliffs are at the looking points are amazing. Everywhere you look there is a great picture to be taken.
Beautiful beach, red sand, great views, dunes, trails, washrooms.
Walk as far as you can along the beach. You kinda get to see multiple different beaches in one
Nice beach but too touristy. Worth the visit but there are better beaches on the island.
Beautiful beach with change rooms, small canteen, life guards, lots of parking and the parks board brings out educational tables! The views are great but if you want a good picture, go early before the crowds. Water temperature was great, so it really depends on the time of year and your own tolerance to cold.
Beautiful red beach. The sand has such a unique consistency and is red like the soil. This area has public washrooms and a foot was station. There was also some Parks Canada people on the beach with en education booth showing native wildlife and artifacts. Great place to visit, wish I had more time there but I was part of a tour.
Wonderful, Just love the beach, It's absolutely clean and there are many places to take good photos
It's very nice but there were a few others in PEI that we visited that were better, less crowded, and free. Worth seeing but I would spend my beach time at basin head or canoe cove personally.
Gets rather busy between 1:00 and 4:00. Make sure to bring some extra food with you, there is only a small bar serving hotdogs around.
Many trails explore them all. Specifically the one which takes you to the north side of the Atlantic view.
Lot of rocks on the beach and the stairs were very difficult to use, as they were almost totally covered in sand. Very unsafe to use! And not wheel chair accessible!!
As Great as the medetiranean sea
Beautiful dunes, you can analyze the erosion of the beach pretty well
The best beach by far in PEI. Avoid the touristy traps along the main road before turning into the one leading to the beach it's located in a National Park so it's tolled but the annual Parks Canada pass gives holders entry at no charge. The beach is pretty wide and fairly shallow approach means you can be out pretty before you reach crotch level depending on the tide. It had washrooms and change rooms along with a small snack bar.
Amazing beach, but water is cold to swim
Easy access to deceive trails that are fantastically maintained.
Great beach, went in the summer and had a tonne of fun. The water was extremely cold so only a few of my summer group went swimming. It is extremely beautiful here!!! The change rooms were ok, kind of dirty but not too bad. Also my friends socks got stolen here which was weird :/
Got married here... what does that tell ya?
Nice beach,It's still a little cold. it will take some time to get into the water.
Not a good beach day had chilly winds and clouds. Beach and dunes were great.
Beautiful beach! Changerooms with showers, washrooms and a small canteen. The canteen had slow service, however, it was an extremely busy day.
