This Zoo corresponds to the category of City park.
Decent park in uptown Waterloo between all the upscale condos. In 2021 the construction does fences off the water from visitors but the trails are still worth a good walk, or cycling. I still wonder what the white chicken is doing with bunch of peacocks at the park.
Amazing display of lights and a good place to walk and hang out.
Pretty big and well maintained, also there is a nice splash zone - so good for kids!
Lovely park with two playgrounds , farm animals , splash pad and skateboard park. Walking distance to swimming pool and library.
Good escape for kids with farm animals zoo. They also have soccer field, tennis courts, base ball, etc. more than half of the park particularly water stream side is under construction with no access. No barbecue, no fire allowed. Propane barbecue are allowed though. Few parking lots are closed making it difficult to find a parking.
Wide open spaces with lots of things to do. There are animals in appropriately sized caged spaces, multiple parks for children, easily accessible parking and washrooms. Conveniently located and gorgeous. Walkable gardens and paths and a few open fields, you can almost forget that you are in the city. I enjoy taking my dog here for a walk and good training.
Beautiful park. I visited in mid July so it was nice and sunny. People cycle, skate board and go walking here. There is a heritage site within the park. Overall a great place to unwind and relax or study. ????/???? There's peacocks too ????
It's great park to hang out and just chill with your family and friends. So widespread that you can easily find the right spot with decent privacy.
Nice place for get together and jogging. I had lots of fun in this area.
Where else could you find a park in Waterloo with a zoo, splash pad and enough space to host a variety of sports and recreational activities? Waterloo Park! It will be even better when the renovations around the "lake" are completed.
Amazing place to visit in Summer. Good place for jogging and morning walk. Especially, the walkway near tram railway is amazing view... Also, few animals and birds are there for kids to get entertained..
Its a beautiful park with animals, there is a great pond by it with ducks and geese usually as well. Connects to the iron horse trail and has a lrt stop nearby. Saw people doing catch and release from the gazebo today. Great place for kids and adults. Splash pad is there although its closed at this time
It was really nice with lights and people around
Beautiful park, specially on winter ❄️
Well maintained, even while under some construction. Beautiful flower garden right near the parking lot/playground/splashpad.
Located south of the university of waterloo, waterloo park was a hidden gem! Grab a coffee or a friend and chill, pet the animals, throw a ball around, walk the pathways, waterloo park is great for all that!
It has it all! Perfect for skating, roller plates lovers and scooters, very big with lots of trails for walking and biking. Lots of shaded seating areas among the trees and little zoo with domestic animals. It has couple small playing grounds for kids as well.
Nice walking park. Not many animals but still worthwhile.
We missed the Zoo animals. Maybe an online schedule for animal appearances? We've never seen some of the animals on the signs, despite several visits.
Was there for a nice walk. Surprised the water is so low. Poor birds were walking knee deep in the shallow water. Peacocks were having a great time showing off and the donkeys were very friendly.
Waterloo Park is sporting Christmas lights. Many families and singles alike are enjoying the festivities even on the coldest of nights. Come out and enjoy the seasonal magic of the lights.
It's very calming, try visit during evening times near the water body. It's refreshing.
This park has a nice little zoo for you to stroll through. It's a great place to kill a few hours and also catch some pokemon. There are quite a few poke stops!
Love the holiday lights. Always enjoy going to the park when I am in town.
Such a lovely place to walk - be sure to do the two halves! There's a band shell, many picnic tables, a baseball diamond and a skate park on once side. There's a small forest with a path and a bridge over a creek to get to the other side, where there are more picnic tables, a kids' play area, some pens with various animals. They are currently rebuilding the pond and the water park.
Beautiful park with a mini zoo and amazing trails. The lake is currently under construction, so not the best view. Parking is almost always full during the weekends.
Good place for a stoll or to bring kids. They have animals there sometimes; when we went there was just a peacock but my daughter loved it.
Great park area. Animals are cute and the splash pad and parks are nice. My daughter loves it.
We celebrated our roommates bday there . It was awesome party . She really enjoyed it and on top of it she was really happy on her special day. Park was maintain very well. We took some pictures and played there.
Nice park to walk though. Though the area near the pond smells with fowel - there are many ducks in the pond. There's a splash area which seems outdated. The park itself is ok. +1 for the animals.
I love this park! It’s really relaxing to walk through with my friends and family. I love the animals and their Winter Lights set up around Christmas time. I used to go here with my dad a lot as a kid; and I still don’t get bored coming. Cute and family friendly!!
Nice place for a picnic, also has a small zoo. Splash pad is well made. Went there with a group and it was an enjoyable experience
Cute little park with a small animal zoo. My daughter loved watching the llamas. There is also an area for the kiddos to climb tree stumps & play on a jungle gym. The park itself is currently under construction but can still walk around. Will be taking my daughter there again!
Good park at the heart of Waterloo...Zoo with few animals is added attraction..
A lovely spot in the heart of Waterloo with connecting trails and Ion stop. It will be great to see when the Silver Lake restoration is completed.
Lots of green space. A little farm with llamas, peacocks, donkeys and goats. The colors are beautiful in the fall season.
We spent a good time with family at the park. The weather was perfect and surprisingly we easily found a parking spot there.
It's best when you want to spend some time either alone or with family and friends amongst the beautiful nature!!!
Really nice place for a calm, relaxed walk/jog experience....scenic and tranquil with trail and water-stream experience...a few areas are under construction and I hope they get completed fast, which will make this place even more beautiful.
Lovely park. I will be glad when the upgrades are completed.
The green gazebo on the west side was clean . We had lunch at one of the tables under the he gazebo and enjoyed our lunch time
Wonderful. When my daughter was small we used to visit the farm and it was great. Definitely recommend taking young children to the park.
A must-visit in Waterloo. Great for children and family. Interesting animals, playgrounds, and picnic tables. Used to have a water park, which has moved to the skate park nearby (like 15 minutes walk).
Being new to the Waterloo area, while roaming around l happen to come across a nice and happening place at Waterloo park .It encompasses varied features- Different corners for each -be it meditation, art corner, sports, cycling, mini zoo for kids - activities for all age group of people under one roof... isn’t it exciting.
Relaxing park in the city with water features. Great for kids. Well kept. The farm animals were a hit with the kids. Multiple playgrounds. Splash pad was big but underwhelming. Nice concession stand.
Nice park. Plenty of space. Well kept up and easy to get to.
It was a cold, snowy night; I went there and walked for an hour. They decorated the park because of Christmas, and it was so cool. However, there was no open indoor place to get some coffee or warm drink.
This park is a wonderful place to walk, sit, picnic, play. Kid's playground, water park, sports fields, paved paths for walking, woods, some historical sights and a small zoo. They are currently doing a lot of work around the river and lake. Once that's done, it'll look great.
I travelled far to see this park and was very disappointed. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst parks I've visited. I've never had my dog want to go home so fast. The garden has not been kept at all, just a bunch of perennials amongst weeds. The main lake area has been blocked off for what looks to be renovations that look like they won't be completed for several years. The grassy parts are just a lot of young people hanging out, leaving behind litter everywhere. Don't go expecting much. Definitely, don't travel a far distance for this place. It's not worth the time or gas to get here. My advice is to go to Victoria Park in Kitchener instead. I've attached photos of what Waterloo Park looks like currently (June 17th 2021).
This park has everything, but be sure you know where you are going as there are multiple entrances and they do not all go to the same place. The animals are entertaining in the zoo and there is a nice trail, baseball facilities are nice. Washrooms are better than you average public park.
Very relaxing. Enjoyed a morning coffee with my wife. The little lake there really needs much help. Discustingly dirty and full of garbage. Also the docks and walkways around it are falling apart
Really enjoyed a winter visit with the lights.
Absolutely beautiful gem full of trails and things to do. We are here all the time!
Waterloo Park is under construction. The river has been controlled and the land sculpted for planting. It is raw now but it will be great. I like the pictured 1967 Centennial band shell which will be fun.
Great park to walk around in and probably one of the nicest in the area. Lots going on here at all times of year. Festivals and other events happen here as well! Lots of picnic areas, a few baseball diamonds, a little lake, bridge, garden, fields, tennis, cricket, and other things! Lots of variety but not too much parking anymore on the one side, especially since the LRT development.
Very lovely park. Lots of open green space. Interesting animal exhibits with llamas, goats, donkeys and more.
Love the light displays this year. They pulled all the displays closer together so you can walk a nice loop around the park and see everything without being too close to everyone else who's there.
We hosted our sons first birthday here and it was amazing we had so much space for all the kids to run around. The splash pad was great and the older kids loved the skate park. I would recommend doing your childs party here for sure.
The Christmas lights and displays were awesome.
Good park for family. Children can play in the garden.
Beautiful and great fun for kids, the splash pad is fantastic and it's all free, plus they have a little french fry/ice cream place too.
nice open fields and many benches to relax on, also cute animals! best of all during spring you can see all the cute baby ducks and geese in the pond and on the grass ☺️
Always great park for a weekend walk!
Very nice park. The basketball court needs a major renovation. The bathrooms are well maintained. There are many picnic benches to sit on or to take your lunch. The farm is very nice. Overall, excellent park.
Must visit the Christmas lights before the season. Very nicely done.
Nice park for an afternoon stroll. Just don't ask anyone for directions. If you're looking for the animal part of the park, it's in the east end of the park, directly north of the lake.
Very beautiful park with a nice trail to walk on! Also very clean and well maintained
It's always very beautiful, though most of the animals were missing from the mini zoo. Probably covid. They also removed some swings, presumably for the same reason. The ball diamond is simple but well-maintained and has shade where you can watch the game.
One of the best place to chil your evening. There is a cricket pitch and place to have some football, freebie and other sports also.
Nice place to take a walk and get away from the ugly concrete that surrounds it
Nice park, but there's a big construction going on around it now.
Sometimes full, with a baseball diamond, view of the water and a small zoo with animals such as donkeys, peacocks, llhamas and goats.
I loved it so much , very nice place for all the family
It is a good park for leisurely walks or more active pursuits.
This park tends to offer a lot of fun for kids and adults. It has good playing ground and facilities a kid of various ages can have fun with. Having a lot of trees and green ares is also additional advantage for adults to get fresh air or have escape, doing activities like reading book, playing sport or just having rest.
Fantastic park! My dog loves walking through it and playing frisbee off to the side. Well cared for, lots of greenery, and lots of friendly people! Just watch out in some of the fields as there can be lots of goose droppings.
Love the animals and this park will always hold a place in my heart the many days spent there growing up
Great walk it's a really nice park
the place was awesome. i have been around this place before. but on that day we decided to go and it was awesome. We had gone for a photoshoot and the scenic area had so many different paths and tables, it was a photographer's heaven. the photo i posted was just a random shot i took. i loved it.
The place is nice but closes at 7 pm which is too early for this time of year Riverside park splash closes at 9 pm
Beautiful park located in uptown waterloo. Lots of interesting sites including live farm animals, kw's first one room school house, the original train station and an old mill are just a few of the gorgeous sites/ things to do here. Not to mention the kids playground/splash pad. It's a win with both children and adults of all ages. Don't miss the chance to take a trip here
Great park with a lot of different options- a few playgrounds including one with water taps in the summer (father David Bauer entrance), a skate/BMX park, trails, lots of multiuse open space. The pond is up for some rehab but it is still quite beautiful and there are always ducks and geese in the warm months. Bathrooms are seasonal and hours are limited- so this is the only issue for families (it's quite a walk to another bathroom if needed). Lots of picnic tables plus farm animals as well- but they have quiet and private areas in their pens, so no guarantees they will want to be social.
Its nice to have walk through Wonders of Winter.. Amazing..
The park was well kept and tidy. There was construction on some parts of the park, but the park is very large and fits a lot of people. The animals seemed to want to graze but didn't have enough grass, the miniature horses were trying to get the weeds under the fence. There were miniature horses, lamas and peacocks. I miss the pigs and bunnies.
Great park to visit! The park is accessible through a local trail. There is lots of parking available. They have cute Alpacas as well.
Great picnic tables to enjoy some Penny's Hot Chicken.
Beautiful place. Lots of birds and green spaces. Well maintained. Functioning clean washrooms.
Silver Lake,Waterloo Park of Waterloo, Ontario. 滑铁卢公园,银湖。 Waterloo Park has a long history as a community gathering place located conveniently in the city's uptown core. Known as the jewel of the city, the park boasts 45 hectares (111 acres) of prime parkland, with a multitude of active and passive uses.
One of my favourite places to go in the city. Lots of walking paths and parking. They have public washrooms and a concession stand that is usually open in the summer but not very often. I love to visit this place to visit and interact with the animals.
I loved it so much , very nice place for all the family
A quite peaceful, safe even at night park very close to Waterloo University and Wilfried Laurier. It has lots of places to sit down and have a nice time, or for long refreshing walks. The park also accomodates some wildlife like small ponies, lamas, peacocks and a lot of geese. The park also house many sports activities in most evenings.
I mean its a park in the middle of the city, the only complaint i have is that the map pin drops you in a spot not really ideal for parking.
A perfect example of how OVER-MANAGEMENT of parks destroys our valuable green spaces. The city has cut down roughly HALF of the trees in the park (mostly mature trees) and ruined the last remaining forest trails that were present in the park with their most recent project. The city shouldn't be striving to "illuminate" every square inch of the city. We need NATURAL areas in the city. Parks shouldn't be illuminated at night. Not every trail needs to be for cyclists. Apparently the trees were cut down to "improve the view" for the residents living in the apartment buildings across the street -- buildings which didn't exist 10 years ago. Thus, the creation of those apartment buildings has already contributed to the destruction of the park. It's a shame that the city can't see the damage that it's doing to our green spaces, denying people the right to have some public land in the city that isn't molested by humans. A park is supposed to be an un-illuminated green space with trees. It isn't supposed to look like a typical backyard.
Beautiful, well preserved park, easily approachable...
Nice place, beautiful trees and play ground.
Great park to walk your dog or to simply relax by the pond. The old school house is worth a visit as is the farm.
It has a lot of different environments and "places". The water park is free . It has an enclosure so it's great for running preschoolers. The water of silver lake is full of geese poop :(. It is lively, with buskers, families with young children. Weddings happening at the Mill or the English style gardens. Something for everyone.
pretty solid park overall, especially love the llamas and fluffy chickens
Always beautiful but currently no water access as it's under construction
It’s free to visit and they have cute animals that are friendly if you go up to them.
A very nice urban park, you could easily forget you are in the city center. It has animal enclosures like a small outdoor zoo, a tennis dome, and a pretty lake. We had a good time on a sunny March day, but it must be great in the summer!
Waterloo Park is a great public space with beautiful greenery to enjoy anything from a relaxing stroll to a high intensity game of soccer. It offer a healthy place to bur off some energy and enjoy your day. Being close to King St also means ample food and refreshments are within a short walk or drive.
Really loved it here. Especially a great relief after almost 2 months of COVID!! Enough space for people to keep the necessary social distance.
Amazing place for picnic and a walk! Small animal farm is superb!
Wonderful park in the city... great for walks, a bit of bird watching and the start or end if trail walks, runs or bike rides. You'd get to see Lama's, too :)
A must see park, specially in fall. I highly recommend visiting this park on a nice sunny fall afternoon and soaking in all the beauty. If you've got rug rats, you'll have no problem keeping them engaged here... Lots to see and learn here for little people.
They waterfront is under construction right now which is kind of too bad. However I'm excited to see it when done. You can still go see the animals or hangout in the park though. Good place for a stroll or picnic with your friends, family or s/o if you want something informal and low key. Also if you haven't seen the peacocks or alpaca before then you're missing out
Peaceful and relaxing place.
What's not to love about this park? We have been coming here frequently during COVID times. It is spread out enough that you don't get too close to other people. Lots of area to walk around, it has a splash pad in the summer months (during …
Great place to walk/run/jog/bike/kick a ball, play sports, picnic, etc. One of my favourite places in Waterloo to hang out when the weather plays its part!
Beautiful and big parks, could use more light for nights though
Great place for a family picnic, social-distancing visit with friends, or just a walk alone to enjoy the day. Ample parking, has sime picnic tables. Also a public bathroom that's open now during Covid-19. I recommend you bring own sanitizer and a face mask. It's a good idea to bring your own lawn chair or blanket.
Amazing place to feed your soul...
Nice place, I like to come here and draw.
This is a great park with live animals (not sure how I feel about the city caging animals for entertainment) but it's a nice park and a lot of work is being done to improve its water front to make it look even nicer.
A bit of a mud pile right now, they are working on dredging and reshaping the lake and half the parking is fenced off for machinery. The Christmas lights are up but taking up less space than last year. I'm looking forward to the finished redesign.
Once place to hang out. Used to go there a lot 55 to 60 years ago when I was at university. Returned recently, smaller than I remembered but nice area with water view.
Small park with pretty much good space to play and have a evening walk. Best place to play, walk, jog, and enjoy weather (mostly in summer)
Lots of nooks and crannies to explore! Ample space to enjoy the grass, trees, water and picnic benches.
nice walk and lights display, during the day before lock down it was good place for kids to play.
Great place for a walk/run
Great open space for sports with multiple fields. New walking path and bike path are nice with easy access through the park. Plus there is a small zoo with animals.
So many amazing memories here. See if you can find the swing set, zoo, waterfront, and baseball diamonds! Did you know it extends west of the train track as well?
This is one of the best visiting places in the K-W region. Enough parking is available all the time. Cleanliness standard is quite maintain here. Suitable place for family. Would love to visit this place again.
Excellent place for a picnic or a walk with your doggie. Huge park Lots of open spaces and trails.
Spring looks awesome when trees changes colors, nice small trail for walk and cycling with soothing weather, plenty of activities to do, lush green grass everywhere, with water flowing side by side…
Fun seeing the different animals there
Should definitely go. Take extra caps and sweaters
There is some construction work going, which stop visitors to walk near the lake, other than that it is good place to visit. It has many picnic spots and long walking trail, many green grounds to play soccer, tennis, etc.
Great place to take family for an evening walk in the Christmas lights
A nice short walk with Christmas lights. I'd like to see more trees wrapped in lights. I'm glad the business community supports this, but do we have to have an advertisement with each display? Why not a.large board at the end.
Waterloo Park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. It lacks forest-space, and primarily is divided between two fields, but also sports a playground and small Zoo with multiple animals. There is parking in multiple locations, however there aren't washrooms currently available. There are ample Picnic tables!
In spite of Covid climate and cool weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our short visit to this very lovely place, a great getaway spot in the city, lots to see and nice to stroll or just sit around.
Beautiful place for a picnic, or just a walk. There's soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and even an enclosure with animals that you can visit. There's also a place you can go to buy icecream and drinks, though it will be a bit expensive, unsurprisingly.
It's so good place to see animals like Lama, ????, goats and peacocks. I had very pleasant experience being in the park.
Beautiful, well-lit park for a post-dinner walk! I've been to this park dozens of times since I was a child and it just gets better everytime. The exhibit with the peacocks was interesting at dusk. The male had managed to perch in a tree and the female was doing some acrobatics to climb up to him. I've never seen peacocks off of the ground so it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Unfortunately the lake is under construction but there is a beautiful garden to walk through nearby. The entire park is well lit and well maintained. Overall lovely place for an evening stroll after dinner. ????
A beautiful park in the town, have a small pond and a few animals in the summer. It does have a big play ground , where soccer.. football or cricket can be played. There is another play area , im not sure if its for basket ball or tennis.
It's beautiful place to visit for all ages. Beautiful lake and ducks ???? ????????????????
Under construction right now, otherwise a great place for walks.
Lots of space to walk around. Some animals to look at. Playground areas for kids and lots of tables and benches for parents to sit and have a picnic.
Took my son to the new splash pad off of Father David Bauer and really loved it. My son is 2.5 years and the splash pad is so perfect for his age. He can reach everything and it's not a big splash pad so I can always sit down and watch him comfortably. The area also has a big sandbox that he loved, but it seems like they removed the big faucet that was in the sandbox. Still a great place though!
Would be nice if they would make updates to the animal areas. Lake is still not done so it feels like a giant construction site.
My son loves going to the parks here and seeing the geese and ducks. I don't agree with the animals being there though, I don't think the space they give them is adequate and it's barren. It's actually sad to see. I would give it a better …
Lovely place. My favourite spot in Waterloo.
I always love this park. So many animals and trails you can either walk or bike down. Perfect for a picnic with the kids.
This park is exceptional in its size and amenities. My kids have always loved the animals here. The recent improvements with the skate park and playground with the wild water feature have really elevated its popularity. Many are looking …
Great space. We reclaimed a part of the park in 2020 with our trailer and teepee. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms always clean.
Beautiful space to photograph weddings! Highly recommend.
Very cozy and comfortable park! You can play cricket, soccer , baseball, tennis and other sports too!
Open and clean park that's great for walks and biking. There are areas that can use some maintenance specifically the presence of weeds and dying flowers. However, overall it is very enjoyable including small animal pens, a playground, a water park section (closed when I went), a tennis club close by, etc
It was nice to see so many people enjoying Waterloo Park this evening. We went as a family and the kids enjoyed seeing a few animals that are out and play on the little climber that's there. There are plenty of benches/picnic tables to sit if needed and nicely paved walkways for walking/biking etc. Lots to see and do.
Bring my daughter here multiple times a week. Love seeing the animals and when the weather is nice there are many other kids for her to play with :)
Beautiful park. I visited in mid July so it was nice and sunny. People cycle, skate board and go walking here. There is a heritage site within the park. Overall a great place to unwind and relax or study. ????/???? There's peacocks too????
A good way to get lost and enjoy the walk. Didn't expect to see animals (llamas and peacocks) but made for a great afternoon. Oh, and there were some questionable pigs along the way.. ????
Not bad for a public municipal park, a few nicely maintained trails, some sports facilities, a few barnyard animals make for an idyllic stroll on a spring day (bring a mask if you want to pet the animals, as they can be quite strong smelling). One main issue is the abundance of unpaved trails which become waterlogged swamps after heavy rain, making walking through quite a chore.
Really cool place to visit during Christmas time. I think the lights turn on after 6pm. ????????????????????
It could have been a nice park, and the idea of the adult electric scooters is wonderful. But the reality is that it needs more maintenance. There are geese and geese poop everywhere you walk, and the animals in the miniature zoo need more care. They seem almost neglected, or at least just the miniature ponies. They looked almost depressed in their enclosure.
Lots of different things to do. Farm animals, splash pad, party area.
Spent a lovely evening walking through the park with the family and the dog. The park has has some vast improvements with the new double walking paths and the improvements to the waterways. The overall feel of the park has greatly improved and there are still a nice amount of animals to visit, my daughters still love the donkey and the miniature horses. We will continue to visit when ever we can, it is still one of the best inner city green spaces in Waterloo.
Great place for a walk, family getaway or reading a book. Kids will love all those animals.
Nice place to spend sometime with family and children. Huge green space and trees, few domestic animals, basketball courts for children and adults. Good place to spend an afternoon with family and friends.
Love it! Always nice to go there and have a snack or play some cards! Also good for a walk!
Beautiful park with some animals. Great to just stroll around in.
Lots of trails, big fields, animals, and a big body of water.
Part waterpark, part zoo, part playground....this unassuming park is huge and actually has tons of stuff to see and do. Use the swings, get soaked on the splash pad or scope out the peacocks and Llamas. It's so fun and it's in Waterloo of all places.
Nice park, with lots to do, easily accessible accept for one problem, it isn't well snow cleaned, I found myself having a lot of trouble walking, even though it had been a few days since it snowed.
Loved the Christmas lights here this year! Came with my partner and friend on New Year's Eve and it was absolutely gorgeous..it was wonderful to see the community come together with so many smiles and bright eyes :). There were also many characters from shows and movies in the form of lights (ex. Dora the explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick, Batman and more). I loved the Nativity scene as well..stunning! I would definately recommend this as a date spot, to take kids or just for a stroll in the winter while the lights are on (double check to make sure). Cheers and Happy New Year to everyone!
Awesome place for kids to burn their energy with a play park and animals
It is a wonderful place for everyone. Climbing, slides and splash pad for children. A small zoo to see with climbing and slides and swings and rocking toys for little kids. They sell ice cream and other snack foods. There is a bridge over a stream with picnic tables and open air shelters.
Beautifully maintained park with a really fun zoo within it. Great for family strolls and picnics
Cool place and enough space to hang out and party
beautiful, clean park in the heart of waterloo. perfect for the family, with play structures, a mini zoo, forest trails, and lots of green space.
Beautiful park. Propane gas bbq is allowed only. But still in construction. Kids playground could me much better
Beautiful ❤️ Park. Nice entertainment spot for all ages.
Park with wonderful trees and lots of areas for families to make a picnic; for birthday party celebrations (now doing Covid time extremely helpful) It was also very clean and it seems to have also washroom facilities and enough parking lots. I loved the place!
Nice park to visit as a family. Small petting zoo (goats, donkey, llamas, peacocks), playgrounds, swings, plenty of shady areas and picnic tables. Splash pad is currently under construction.
My favorite park in the city. It's in a major renovation right now so parking is not as convenient, but still good for a stroll or run around. Good for kids as they have cute animals to see as well.
An amazing place to relax and enjoy...
Very large park with two different sections to it separated by a river. Large splash pad with cover picnic area which is great for birthday parties. Its also near a large play structure. A zoo type set up where you can see a bunch of animals but not touch them. The LRT goes through the park which my kids like to see. The Waterloo Tennis club is in one section. There is a skate park, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and band shell. Great place for photos also!
Fun little park to walk around. They have animals there. Last I went they had peacocks, Lama's, pigs, miniature horses. I especially like to come in the winter when they have the lights up. Picnic tables around the park to sit and relax, eat a small lunch.
Pretty big park, great place to have a relaxing weekend. Really beautiful peacocks too!
It's a nice park to walk through and check out some animals and to let the kids play on the playground and on a hot day to hit up the waterpark and also in the winter they have a BEAUTIFUL light show
Beautiful place to take a stroll with small children, dogs and family/friends. I walk with my family around to the animals (who are adorable), over by the dock and around the loop. Available parking at the recreation center on Father David Bauer drive street in Waterloo. Rental scooters, snack store, and good trails. I rated this 4/5 because of all the geese poop I get on my stroller wheels lol. Not sure how this could be preventable, but maybe a clean once or twice a day by a worker.
This place is worth visiting. A lot of space is available here to pursue various activities that also includes sports. Park is well maintained and equipped with all the basic amenities. Perfect place for a fun lover ????
It was an average city park.. I would like to remind everyone that didn't have a mask to have one. There was construction but that didn't bother me. They did how ever take down the splash pad and I was disappointed to that. Over all I had fun though.
Good, as long as you don't go there for Christmas lights ;)
One of my fave parks to go to in kw. Just wish they had even a small off leash dog area. Always love walking through with my dog though; lots of cute spots for pics!
A very large park right in the middle of waterloo. Pretty much accessible all year round from various directions. Has access from Westmount rd, university ave and many more inner streets. There is a mini zoo with dwarf horses and llamas at the center. Lots of walking/biking trails and a lake at one end with a children's play area over looking it. Come here for a walk, game of baseball or just to see those stylish llamas. During winters the park has many exhibition around Christmas time with lots of lights and decorated paths.
Peaceful family place, amazing view-It has vintage first school of waterloo as well. Trailwalk and amazing sunset view with a small yet pleasant to hear constantly flowing water- must visit place for evening walk and jogging..
A haven of green space with a little river running through, and right next door to Uptown! Also has llamas, miniture horses, donkeys, goats, peacocks and pea-hens, chickens, and sheep, which your kids will love!
One of the best park i had ever seen
This park is one of the best in the city, its large and very well maintained. It has many nice walking trails that weave threw the park. They also have a lovely flower garden near the cricket pitch.
This park is a great place to take a walk with the family and see many pretty sights! Theres also a playground and splash park that are well maintained and a decently large size. There's a few small scenic trails and animals! A great place for a picnic!
Love this park, it's beautiful and I'm looking forward to them fixing up the lake and making it more appealing! The grounds are beautiful and the animals are always adorable. There's lots of seating and a little shop to get food and refreshments, along with washrooms and a Waterpark which is awesome for kids. Tons of parking and space for people to play outdoor sports during the summer.
Beautiful flower gardens and a compact children's playground and large splash pad. This park has few animals in large enclosed areas as well and a lake with geese and ducks.
Great family park. In the summer there is a large splash pad, and the river with lots of ducks and geese. A nice playground and a large set of swings. Easy to come for a picnic. The snack shack has a decent choice of ice cream and the waffle fries are wicked(a nice treat to share) There are also animals for the kids to see while they are there. Peacocks, chickens, pigs, donkeys, goats, llamas and horses. So for a city park it's definitely a great time out.
Walking paths, several caged animals, boardwalk with geese, jungle gym, botanical garden, splash pad and ice cream/food station. Nice city park location that is great for families trying to waste away a day at a low cost. Only thing is, I wish it had a bit better up keep...otherwise it would have been a 5 ⭐️
Nice walking trail and cool little cricket pitch. Watching a game from the hill with the cannon is pretty awesome.
There are lots of trails to walk and places for the kids to play. Don't forget the light display at Christmas! It will be very nice when they fix the pond. Plans are in the works!
Very nice place to walk and see various animals.
Very nice place for all ages. My friends and I play cricket and the playground is maintained so well, thanks to the staff. My only suggestion to the management is to add more washrooms close to the playground and make them accessible until the sunset.
Waterloo park is a real gem in the middle of the city. Currently undergoing tons of renovations and I'm very excited to see what it looks like when it's all done. I must visit!
Big fan of the park during the summer months. Lots of people around, sitting, picnics and sports to be played on the grounds. They just recently took out the Splash pad so not sure what will replace it. Not a big fan of the animals kept at the park but it does attract a lot of families. Worth visiting as lots of activities to do with friends and family.
Always love spending time here, whether it's relaxing in the summer shade, reading in fall or exploring the Christmas lights.
Ice and foam formation under the LRT bridge
One of the few parks that just make you feel nature. The vibe is so cool and just walking there during the day helps alleviate any mood
Nice large park with trees and some facilities that is hidden away and maybe a little hard to get to by car. Close to the university.
The best place to come & catch a break
Great park. This one is huge! Live animals in the summer, baseball fields, cricket and soccer fields, multiple playgrounds, a bandstand, splash pad, and a lake. It's got it all! Entrances off of Albert and Westmount. There is a bike trail that links Uptown Waterloo to the University of Waterloo. Great place to spend the day.
This was our first time visiting Waterloo Park, and I must say, we have been missing out!! There was soooo much to do there. Large walking trail, park, mini animal zoo, fields to play games like Frisbee, water play in the summer, LRT is right there it you have Littles that like to watch the trains go by. There are so many options for every family member! That would be an excellent place to have a picnic!!
Overall has a nice atmosphere to it and nothing bad has occurred while I've been there. There's a good assortment of animals to see. My biggest qualm they need more water and shade. There is a place to get food in the park and it's been good the 2 times I've bought something.
Beautiful trails, I like the animals, good amount of exploration to do for such a small area. Great day park. My main issue is that you go at any point during the night the security guards/officers or whoever they are will harass you relentlessly
They had a great winter fest setup going on so I took the family for a fun evening. Especially liked the play in the old school house put on by middle school kids.
Very nice park but currently lake is under maintenance. Place also has few adorable animals like Lama and Indian Peacock ????
Absolutely a top notch park. Splash pad, zoo, tennis club nearby and a pond with many birds, ducks and geese. Loses a star for inadequate parking for the droves of park-goers and toilets closing at 2pm on busy weekends. Like what the hell man!
Beautiful park lots to do
Hopes - building more wooden walks, Eye care by Indian blue peacock Llama, green fields, walk alone with meditation ????♀️ ????♂️ ???? ????
Wonders of Winter impressed us again! So pretty with the snowfall today.
Nice place to go for a walk or picnic. The water view is really nice and there are a lot of shaded areas which I really appreciate on those extra hot summer days. Has a little zoo too which is pretty neat; always fun to go check in on the peacocks and others. Also, the park has swings so that's a big plus.
Incredibly well managed Park both environmentally and in regards to inclusive infrastructure (cyclists, children, pedestrians, etc.)
Waterloo park will be much better next year when the renovation is done and the animals are back.
Great place to walk anytime of the day. You can interact with horses, llamas, nice walking trail and jogging track. Fresh air in the morning and feeling of freedom in the middle of night.
Major improvement from what it used to look like 10 years ago however City of Kitchener should maintain the level of focus to continue to improve the park as it remain a key vital core of the city. Many events take place and for the most part are safe and well manged. Improvement can be made by having more and consistent officers passing through area, fines for people that litter and allow local talent weekly to use the space to showcasing their talent.
Great Christmas set-up. Stroll through and check out all the light displays!
Nice place to relax with your kids
Big park, with gravel and paved trails, live animals. Has soccer fields, baseball field, a cricket turf, and a tennis club with good courts. At night the lights come on that looks beautiful to walk through. A must try if new to area!
Our kids love the animals, can't wait for the construction to be completed
So relaxing walking along the water watching the ducks and fish. Going to see the farm animals is a great family outing. After the animals grab a picnic table by the playground kids can play and have a nice lunch or dinner.
Large greenspace with lots of extras. Tennis court, baseball diamonds, splash pad with consession stand, live animals, 2 playgrounds, basketball court, cricket field. Beautiful flower gardens and small little lake with a boardwalk. Lots of geese to look at but don't get to close because they are not friendly. Large pavilions and gazebos that you can rent/use for parties.
Access to the park is off Westmount. Other entrance is blocked because of construction. Walking trail is great. Washrooms open.
I didn't know they had a little Zoo! Christmas display in the winter, sports and lots of activities in the summer. Busy, but well laid out and maintained paths
Excellent job with the Christmas light displays... and what a joy to chat with a couple of the volunteers that work all year to make it happen year after year. Now if we could just get some of the transients involved in the creation of something like this Maybe they wouldn't be quite as destructive
could be more fun but it's the most fun park we have!
Main attraction in Waterloo and best place to see Christmas lights in the holiday season
The Wonders of Winter Christmas light display is truly wonderful! A great walk in the park!
Usually plenty of parking available. Nice place to go for a walk. There is a large splash pad in the summer open. Plenty of animals to see, such as this deer.
Great place to take your kids for a walk or to see some of the animals they have there!
I love this park. Currently under construction, but still beautiful. There's a really nice mini zoo that's open in the summer months and a beautiful wonders of winter light display in the winter months.
Great location and awesome mini Zoo. Very close to University of Waterloo. There is splash park, mini lake and a cricket ground too.
This was a surprise to us when we were strolling around Waterloo. Great little place for the family to spend a day here. The animals are great for the little one.
This was a surprise to us when we were strolling around Waterloo. Great little place for the family to spend a day here. The animals are great for the little one.
Lots to do here, lots to see, great place for walking the dogs. They've cut out a great deal of "cover" and opened everything up which is nice but they could have kept some of it to give the sense of privacy and variety. The construction …
It was besutiful. Well done. Lots of displays to see. Lots of people in the park tonight. Missed being able to go on the trolley ride.
Great place to take kids. The animals in the pens are friendly. Lots of things to see and do.
So much to do-splash pad, swings, playground, visit the animals, watch a baseball game, go for a nature walk
Great venue for a convocation ceremony during the pandemic. Congratulations to the innovative graduates.
Nice and big park that leads to uptown. Lots of goslings here in the spring. There are also cool animals at the farm that change depending on the weather. Just wish they had food that you could buy to feed the animals.
Love this lovely little park. All the upgrades are beautiful, and I love that there's animals there
Beautifully decorated with Christmas lights!
Very nice place with clean washrooms, a lot of picnic benches.
Great for everyone. Kids to Seniors. Playgrounds, bike / walking trails even a couple cannons :). Oh and a mini Zoo ????
Waterloo Park is one of my favorite places to walk my dogs or just go for a romantic walk with my husband. This park has wide parallel paths for bikers and pedestrians to enjoy a spacious stroll. In comparison to Victoria Park in Kitchener, there are none to very few homeless campers in the Waterloo park which generally makes the park feel safer and cleaner. There's also a small zoo with llamas and peacocks which you can view for free as you take your stroll down the paths. If you walk far enough in the park you'll hit the center of uptown Waterloo aka the lively King Street where you can find the little mall called 'The Shops' to grab a tea or a little trinket to remember your visit.
Big park with some animals. There are Peacocks and Limas, not so many animal. There is construction area, but not dangerous. Good to jogging.
Beautiful place.. lot of peace
Christmas lights with my beautiful grandchildren absolutely wonderful
The park has a lot of good things going for it, the animals are always cool to check out but lately it has lost a bunch of it's good vibes. I am not a fan of the having the Ion train go through the park, it can be loud if you are near by and it takes away from the atmosphere at the docks. The landscaping is also lacking, Silver lake can have a lot of garbage in it at times and needs to be cleaned up. The apartments overlooking the docking area are also an eye sore. I think there is some room for improvements in the park, but it's still a good place to spend some time.
Great park to take the family. There is a mini zoo with peacocks, llamas, miniature ponies, and other animals, as well as a splash pad, playgrounds, natural play areas, and sports fields (soccer and baseball). There is a covered pavilion that can be booked for events too. My kids always enjoy a visit to this park.
Amazing! It's really beautiful in fall.
Nice place for a relaxing weekend with kids. Multiple playgrounds distribute the kid crowd all through the park. Lot of green space to relax or play. Kids will also enjoy the Llamas, peacocks and donkeys in this park. Parking is limited so many people park on the side of the park entrance road. Also follow google maps very closely because it is easy to miss the turn on Yonge Street (we missed and had to circle around). Overall its fun place to spend time.
A lovely park with lots of picnic tables, grass, trees. Big enough to walk/run laps around without it being too monotonous. One of the highlights of the city.
Large park in downtown with many places to picnic, play some sports, sit by the lake or visit the small zoo.
Went to see the lights which we enjoyed but the sidewalks were all full of slushy snow. This made is hard to walk through. Cant wait for the construction to be completed and see end result
Starting to look very nice down there. It'll be great when it's done
I love this park! It’s really relaxing to walk through with my friends and family. I love the animals and their Winter Lights set up around Christmas time. I used to go here with my dad a lot as a kid; and I still don’t get bored coming. Cute and family friendly!!
Love walking my baby through this park. So clean and inviting
Smaller park with light to medium pedestrian traffic. Occasionally see deer which is cool.
Great outdoor space for kids (and the rest of the family). Our daughter loves the animals and playgrounds. My wife and I love the green space. Highly recommend.
Beautiful park nearby waterloo University
Wonderful park But limited parking place. And little hard to find the park's entrance.
Wonderful park to go to. Especially seeing the animals in the summer time and winter when the lights go up.
It is really amazing park with small zoo and trail. It is still under construction.yeah, they also have the splash pads for kids. Their washrooms are good too.
There has been a lot of work going on around the park, but it is nice to be able to walk around and see some animals.
Nice park. Like the Christmas lights they put up there.
Nice little park close to the universities, bike, hike, swim, or kayak. (Bring your own) all venues are still closed. Get out and get some sun. Plenty of parking, bathrooms available.
Well kept, clean, with picnic tables and baseball diamonds- this park has some thing for everyone. Loved it.
Great place to go for a walk and and you can see a few animals in there small enclosures
Pathways are in very poor condition, mud along the sides of the roadways/paths, gardens are overgrown with weeds. The buildings are all run down looking. Time to spend some money on our park Waterloo... I couldn’t believe how much worse Waterloo park was compared to Victoria park.
It was winter and there weren't many people due to the covid. It was under construction, but it was nice to be able to walk.
We found this gem while searching for a picnic spot. So much space spread out to accommodate a LOT of people! There were loads of picnic tables, as well as trees, so we could choose a sunny spot or shaded spot. There was a beautiful flower garden with walkways through it. Many available garbage and recycle bins, to easily take care of our trash when we were done eating. We saw people playing ball in one area, and a couple guys drumming under a tree in another area. Lots of people walking dogs, all on leashes. Great place!! Will definitely visit again!
No animals at this time but still a great place to spend the day ... I love being there food family fun or a great place to just go find somewhere to sit read a book and enjoy the outside world passing you by
Good outdoor park with nice trails, petting zoo for kids, cricket pitch, water pond and serene environment. I come all the way from Milton to have some good time with family while enjoying nature’s beauty.
Nice park. The caged animals here are a little dated. The walking paths and pond are really nice. This is a stop on the light rail that is worth jumping off for an hour or two wander.
Park is amazing overall, only wish they had more woods space.
I love this place. They have a little bit of everything that you could want in a park. The scenery is beautiful. The view over the water at sunset is spectacular. In the summer there are Swans, ducks and other wildlife and all year round there is a little zoo full of our local farm animals. Three kids love the splash pad, and I love the walking trails and board walk. It's a total gem. I love it enough that I moved near it.
We are so lucky to have such a beautiful well kept park in our region. So many things to do. It's a great way to spend the day. Clean and family friendly. The Victorian gardens is something to see in the summer. The park is magical during the Christmas season as they have the wonders of winter display as through the park.
This was a nice park before the streetcars cut it in half, but still a decent place to go with a tiny farm animal zoo, some sports fields, and a cool looking old grist mill on the south edge. It had a nice pond which is half dried up now, but there will still be some ducks and geese. The swans don't seem to come anymore.
Best place to visit during Christmas time when it’s All lit with lights nd decorations….great spot for children to play ????
Very beautiful park, nice place to spend some time relaxing in the lap of of nature. There is also small zoo (peacock and one or two animals) kids can have fun too. There are lots of flowers in the garden (atleast during the summers). An artificial lake is also created at an end with wooden pavement for promenade on the edge of the lake, it gives a beautiful scenic view. Thr are some benches to sit, its a very quiet place so one can relax and read at this place.
