Peaceful, friendly people!

This Aviary is a VERY interesting little spot, with a wide variety of very cool birds. My wife and I encountered it ai the beginning of a hike to Sassafras Point, with is just north of there on a pathway. The birds -- cockatoos, parrits and others will charm you if you visit. Also, they may very well greet you with "Hello!"

Their website says they are open Sundays but they weren't open. The grounds immediately around the aviary building in overgrown and unkempt. I paid $5 to park and couldn't get in the building.

Love volunteering here! It is a great way for me to get to spend time with birds that I wouldn't usually get to interact with, as I am not currently in a position to have my own bird. I would definitely recommend that you check it out, as well as considering leaving a donation, as it really helps the birds!

Beautiful spot for a hike.

It was great. It's stupid the city is making them move. They let the birds outside of the the cages and feed them fresh veggies and fruits in the morning. They clean cages daily as well.

Suyash Kumar

Nice little collection of exotic birds. Well maintained

Krista Hughes

One of Hamilton's greatest treasures, I have loved these birds since I first discovered them over 12 years ago. Dedicated volunteers inspired me to volunteer myself and dedicate much of my spare time and passion into helping these incredible parrots. If you haven't been and parrots interest you- do yourself a favour and go!

Jeff Gordon

Great place to go for a walk and enjoy nature.

Turlough O'Hare

Lots of exotic birds for the public to interact with. Open to the public Saturdays 1-4. They often have birds out with a volunteer. It can be very loud when the attention-starved birds try to get you to come over to say hi! Lots of talkers and very personable birds.

Ohhh Jacquie

Talking birds and outdoor spaces. Awesome place to walk through the woods

Kat

Lovely place to get in touch with feathered friends! Over 15 different species of birds- most of them parrots. The aviary is currently volunteer based and in need of love - they give public tours on Saturday afternoons from 1pm-4pm

These birds are very near and dear to my heart! I first met the Flock in 2006, as MAC student. Within weeks, I was signed up to volunteer, which evolved into a place on their board, which ultimately inspired my career in fundraising.

Incredible place to visit, the birds are all so gorgeous and I find myself staying here for hours when it's open. The volunteer crew are all incredibly hardworking as well! If you haven't been here you're definitely missing out, and you should plan a trip down as soon as you can ????

Liv Morton

The people here are working so hard to create a safe and enriching space for the birds. Without the volunteers, these birds would have nowhere to go. Please donate when you visit, I see reviews about the place being run down and I agree but …

Fantastic trails along the lake. Surrounded by trees and shrubs it is not too hard for hikers good for kids and seniors too.

A hidden gem. Rare birds and private tours for groups and individuals. Some public funding or a grant to improve the facility would make it even better.

It's time for Hamilton to close the aviary and find the birds good homes. They don't have enough room and you can tell some aren't happy to be there. Really sad how bad it is compared to 15 years ago.

Dria McGraw

Sad to see the condition of the outdoor groundfowl pavilion. Overgrown. No groundfowl. I personally was one of the three people who built the "barn" and the first section of the pavilion for the peafowl. So sad. Two other outdoor flights …

Nice visit to the aviary. Great little trip to see a variety of birds. Family with small kids would love it .

Jen Morris

The birds are cute but the condition of the place doesn't make it much of an attraction. It would be nice if it looked more like Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls. They provide a natural environment which seems much nicer for the birds.

indushan ariyaratnam

Aleverette S

It's a rotting building, where people feed rotting vegetables to rotting birds.

Saturday and Sunday 1:00pm - 4:00pm There are some lovely birds that live here and the habitat allows for many of the birds to freely move from indoors to outdoors. The caregivers on site today were friendly and knowledgeable. We made some new friends today and saw many beautiful birds.
