We loved the Animal Experience! Meeting the Meerkats was why we went. The family run business were so friendly and even let us tag along to see the other animals on our visit.

The Meerkat Experience drew us to this place and it did not disappoint! The Animal Experience is a small business along a main road. There is an array of reptiles and birds - of course not forgetting the meerkats! The actually experience of being with the meerkats was absolutely brilliant. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We even turned up early and they squeezed us in. After the experience, we were given the chance to hold one of the snakes which was a whole other experience on its own! I'd highly highly highly recommend visiting this small business. All animals have been adopted and appear to be well treated. I'd love to be able to go back again soon!

Podium Driving School

Not overly impressed by this place. It has potential but wouldn't return. We travelled up from Kent to visit this experience (the journey was 1.5hr) which took 3 times as long as the experience. This was booked for our son as he loves reptiles - which I must admit, he loved the the experience of holding the animals and touching them. From a parents perspective it just didnt add up in terms of value. On arrival we wasnt really made to feel welcome and trying go find someone initially was difficult. Having spoken to staff we offered the opportunity to go outside and look at the meerkats and birds of prey. Meerkats being my favourite wild animal, I was straight there. Unfortunately I was a little saddened to find them in 'summer houses' and struggled to find anywhere for them to burrow and also lack of outdoor space. The young lady holding the bird of prey was extremely rude to my father in law, who hard of hearing got too close to one and was met with a barrage of uncouth youth. Instead of educating as to why it maybe unsafe to proceed, he got "just dont do it". A little odd in my book of customer service and common decency. Moving on to the experience, I watched for some part but not all as I'm not a fan of spiders etc. But from what I did knowledge was very good from the guide. Just disappointed in the length and also to note, the amount of dead bugs stuck between the lizards tanks etc. Another note was the coffee machine. Its one of those that you choose the drink and have to peel the silver tab out of the bottom and just add water. Not the greatest and cost me £1... oh and a battle finding the milk.. and as a heads up, you pay the the little ornament (you have to turn it around) ... ni clue what's going on with that. After the journey and being cold I wanted a decent brew / coffee - I mean I spent £3 on them in service stations so I'll happy pay for a proper cuppa. Anyway all of.that summed up bit of a disappointing Sunday afternoon for us. Value for money = poor Customer service = ok Overall experience = ok Would I return = no Location = poorly signed / needs adjusting on Google maps Cleanliness = ok Staff = ok

We had a wonderful time visiting the animals. Buster was great and had an excellent knowledge, being able to answer questions and talk with us about all the creatures that they have. There is a genuine concern for animal welfare from the staff. They have such great tales to tell you about the animals in their care. The meerkats are so friendly and readily sit on your lap. Such a wonderful place, do visit if you get the opportunity.

A friend.booked it as a birthday present and I really enjoyed the experience: it also included holding a snake for the first time in my life. Definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing! We love meerkats even more than before! Our experience took us in their enclosure where we fed and watched them. So soft! My boys loved it so much and want to do it again! We asked questions and learnt loads. We were then taken round the rest of the animals, birds and reptiles, and held a python. I couldn't find anywhere else that let my children in with the animals. Not a huge place, but a lovely experience.

My girlfriend bought me an experience with the Meerkats at this rescue centre and we both had an amazing time. Before buying a voucher elsewhere, message them direct first as they're very friendly and flexible. The Meerkats themselves were just as friendly and we both learnt a lot about the species. If you book do so direct as the offer companies who offer these days take 50 percent and if you book direct all the money goes to the care of all the animal's :-)

I bought the BoP experience for my wife's birthday we thoroughly enjoyed flying both the Barn Owl and Kestrel and getting see the rest of the birds etc. Be warned though approaching from Cambridge direction the entrance is on a busy corner with no signage on the road.

Beware if like me you hate snakes!!!! Warn the person you book with beforehand and they will keep you away ftom them. Otherwise I enjoyed meeting these funny gentle little creatures. Place very small though.

Was so impressed with everything here, thought it was going to a place just to watch and maybe have small interactions with the meerkats but was I wrong! They give you a tub of food and the meerkats climb all over you and look everywhere for food on you! Your allowed to stroke them and they are not bothered! Your briefed before you go it but it consists of don't pick them and and don't touch their tail! They ate so curious they will climb all over you just to see what is going on! Loved every moment and will go back again!

The experience was amazing. We meet the meerkats. Ben was a fantastic host . We feed and stroked them .There were 5 generations in the group we meet . You didn't feel rushed which was nice. Afterwards we held a snake and a chameleon . I recommend this place to anyone who wants to meet meerkats, reptiles, snakes and birds of prey.

Great fun!!! Buster was really a great guide and was passionate about all the animals. He made the whole experience quite fascinating with his knowledge of the Meerkats, birds and lizards. I cannot recommend this place enough! My boyfriend and I did the reptile experience for my birthday last week and it was amazing. We had an hour with a lovely, very knowledgeable member of staff who showed us round and brought out an incredible range of animals for us to handle. It was so cool and interesting - and was also a great opportunity to chat to staff about the bearded dragon I plan to get later this year. The experience was brilliant and all for the grand total of £20!!! You'd probably pay at least £150 in a zoo. Amazing! We'll definitely be back for the meerkat experience. Thanks for an awesome birthday! :D

Finally got to use our "Meet the Meerkats" vouchers. With, lockdowns and Covid it was a long awaited treat. We were looked after by Mitch who was very helpful, informative and easy to chat to. Our time with the Meerkats was a lovely experience, such cute animals. We were all able to feed them and interact with them. Afterwards we were given a tour of the other animals that are homed there. This was a birthday gift and would definately recommend. A great experience for any age and a great place for doing it. Thank you Gill, Karyn, Mandy

I brought my 7 and 9 year old boys here for the meerkat experience and they had a great afternoon. The establishment is not very large, but we nearly had the place to ourselves and enjoyed very personal interaction with the animals. Our guide, Karen, was friendly and patient and showed that she really cares about and knows the animals. We learned about each animal and special characteristics of the meerkats. The boys really enjoyed the meerkats tendency to dig around in their shoes because it tickled.

What can I say, if your expecting to walk into a modern zoo with all that goes with it then walk away now, if however you want to see some reptiles up close and personal then this is the place for you. We own our own reptiles so we opted to go and have a Meerkat experience. We were greeted by Jen, a young enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable lady that took us into the Meerkats enclosure. We had an hour to sit with these wonderfully curious animals and our children (8 & 11) were on cloud nine. Jen was able to answer all our questions which made the visit all the more enjoyable. This establishment uses this site as their base camp and they travel with their animals to schools and parties all over the region. We are going to use their services again. Down to details, do they have a cafe? no, their is a hot water dispenser that you can use to make a black or white coffee at £1 a cup. There is no other beverages or any food available . There is a fresh water dispenser on site . There is a toilet on site for visitors use . If you are disabled the going will be tough. The car park is uneven and not particularly wheelchair friendly but manageable with some determination. Once inside you can get around and to visit the meerkats I believe you may be disappointed unless there is another way to meet them as there is a large step into the enclosure/shed . I'm sure something could be done to accommodate chair users however, I'd advise a personal visit to your home and you can have the Meerkats in your lounge. Well worth a visit.

Met a very cute "mob" of meerkats called Scratchy, Princess, Digby & Dara. Had a lovely time feeding them & stroking them, having lap cuddles & listening to Princess munching her mealworms whilst sat on our shoulders. We were introduced to some snakes & lizards afterwards & held a bearded dragon. A little disappointed that we were not given a more extensive tour to see all of their other animals but thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which was actually discounted so still good value. It was November 2021 & we paid £50 for 2 people for 1/2 an hour with the meerkats & 5 minutes with the reptiles.

Fantastic little gem, the meerkat experience was brilliant and worth every penny! The staff are so knowledgable and friendly. Would recommend taking a little cash with you because the card machine is a little temperamental at the gift shop. Also to support this great organisation book your experience directly with them and they will match any internet price.

The coati experience was amazing. Our Keeper, George, was very knowledgeable so we learnt a lot about coatis and conservation generally. The coatis were rescued from being illegal pets in not very nice conditions. All the animals are well looked after and appear very happy and friendly. The staff are all passionate and are experts at what they do. I'd definitely recommend it.

Booked a Reptile Experience that was an Xmas gift. Cannot recommend highly enough! We visited with our almost - 16 year old and 6 year old, but this experience was enjoyed by our whole family. A lovely lady called Karen led our experience, she was so kind and knowledgeable. We are already trying to plan our next visit!

I was bought a "Meet The Meerkats" as a Christmas present last year, I didn't think it was going to be my sort of thing & left it until the last minute to book but I was wrong. It was the best day out I've had. The staff are extremely knowledgeable & friendly. We got there a little early & while we waited we were given the opportunity to hold a snake & lizard but declined as not my sort of thing, by the time we'd seen the Meerkats & Yin & Yang I was game for the snake & lizard. The boys that were introducing us to the animals were patient with us & made it the best experience ever. Would like to revisit at some point. Thanks for a wonderful day. A quick ps Coming from Essex the Google Maps directed us to the wrong location. It told us to go left into a Farm (pic below) when we had to turn right into the slip road 20sec further on, just before the "hand carwash".

Karen was very informative and such a lovely lady - she even let us hold a snake after. It’s a small place with a few animals but the staff are all very kind and happy to answer any questions. Wow, went here today to meet their amazing Meerkats and was very impressed! The service from all the staff members is brilliant from start to end and the Meerkats are so gentle and precious. You are allowed to feed, stroke and hold them once they get used to you and they seem really happy and content where they are. They show you round to all the other animals at the centre and have a lot of knowledge on the animals they have. The ferrets had young babies and mum was hiding them but I got a glimpse of those too. Overall I would highly recommend this place to all!

An outstanding experience meeting Meerkats and seeing around the other animals there. You can tell the staff and owners are animal lovers and are passionate about what they do. Our guide was full of knowledge, friendly and we really appreciated the interaction.

Air con Was not working place ridiculously hot. Breakfast was great although thoroughly spoiled by a stroppy young woman with long wavy hair on Sunday morning crashing and banging her empty plates and glasses about on every table she cleared. She had a face like thunder. She definitely was having a bad morning but it made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Previous visits were great though.

I'm leaving a review to say that in this case all the positive words you have read are true. We were shown around by the owner, who introduced us to 4 amazing Meerkats, he was brilliant with my two Autistic children, who were rather nervous. Mitch was knowledgeable, and he really cared about the animals in his care. I would very much recommend.

My daughter had the most fantastic day out at the Animal Experience Centre to celebrate her 10th Birthday. Her and her friend got to fly the birds of prey, meet the reptiles and feed the meerkats. They even got to meet Storm the 10 day old meerkat who sadly was rejected by its mum....super cute ! 85% of the animals are rescues and the team on site are very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend it - Book direct and not via Groupon. Ps. This is our 2nd time at the centre and we will be back again !

Brilliant experience here for my mum’s 70th Birthday. Meerkats were amazing and so friendly, great experience to have them running all over you and taking food from you ☺️ Also saw some beautiful owls and other birds of prey. The reptile part is great too, got to hold snakes and Lizards (only if you want to that is) Staff were great and very friendly and very good with the social distancing measures. 100% recommend!!

Seen the meerkats this morning super cute and utterly adorable. They climbed all over us we were told all about them and got to hold a bowl of food for them to eat. Well worth the experience, half hour is just the right amount of time to be climbed all over We were then shown the birds of pray and then taken to see snakes lizards spiders and again got told interesting facts about them, got to hold a lovely lizard at the end. Was pleased with the COVID practices they had in place. Truly a memory to hold onto.

I can not recommend this highly enough, I bought a meerkat experience for 4. The meerkats were so friendly and climb all over you, let you stroke and pet them. The team who Supervise are friendly and don’t rush you. They then showed us around the rest of the animals there and it’s was a great day out especially for the little ones. Definitely surpassed my expectations.

Me and my girlfriend went for the Meerkat experience and it was absolutely lovely. From the moment we arrived everybody was so friendly and welcoming. We didn't feel rushed at all and felt like we had a very long time in the Meerkat enclosure itself, and were allowed to look at all the other animals for as long as we liked afterwards. I took my daughter as a surprise 21st pre birthday surprise - it was amazing - I can totally recommend it. -the young men staff and their young man volunteer (very informative and helpful) were all lovely and so friendly - we had a meerkat experience with scratchy and his brood and it was just perfect ! I became a watch tower for mama lol and scratchy snuggled in my jacket and fell asleep - I thoroughly recommend this for a special treat - or just a once a month thing ! (Would love that!)
