These fine folks are near our home. We visit yearly to sample their red wines. Its a down to earth place & the stuff has always been friendly.

Aaron Kipp

Free samples and some good ciders available. Great service, and also a scenic property with a few fun things to do (miniature rail, old rail cars, orchards)

I was there on Saturday, at 9:00. It was easy to get in but when we got back around 11:00 the crowd was in the line to pay or get into the truck. It was unbelievable busy. It is better to get there early morning to avoid the crowd and hot weather. You have to wear a mask and gloves all the time. The orchard was full of sour cherry. The portable washroom, water and soap are available. You can purchase a basket in the entry by cash or credit but if you need to buy more basket in the orchard you have to pay just in cash. Having more fun early morning.

Bobbi Leblanc

Not sure if it's because of covid or the season.....but to charge people 9.00 for the train ride to see pretty much a junk yard is really sad...the conductor was very friendly and knowledgeable, however for a child who wants to go on the train and all they see is run down trailers, and old skids and garbage wasn't very pleasing at all.....the young lad at the POY apple orchard was friendly. They really need to clean up the farm.

This place has huge potential. There is alot of run down debris. The animals looks great and the kids loved it but they could clean the place up a bit.

Lovely, the animals are so friendly. I'm always so happy coming here being able to pet the animals. The pigs and horses loved the attention when we met them :)

Mehdi Rezagholizadeh

I went on July 24th and had a terrible experience: 1- we had called them beforehand to make sure they still have sour cherry and they confirmed. 2- In the farm, first, we had to buy a container and we paid $20 for the smallest size. They did not tell us that no cherry is left and sold us a cardboard container. 3- We went to the trees and observed 80% of cherries were perished on the tree. It took me literary 45 min to make the container half full. 4- It was raining and right in the middle of cherry picking (after 45 mins), the cardboard container collapsed and all cherries fell. 5- They did not a new container and refused to give my money back.

Fun and informative place to visit with your family. Great market, winery, cidery, pick your own fruit, petting zoo, and a train ride. Plus there are a couple of AirBnB rooms in old train cars here.

N H

Been to this farm twice and it has been a good experience. Fair price and cherries are good, although I liked last year's produce more. The staff are helpful and ensure protocols are followed. Will return for more fruit picking.

Mohammad Shekarforoush

Great sour cherries

Nicole Persia

Although we enjoyed the natural beauty of the escarpment. The animals were so sad looking in their small cages. With all the hundreds of acres couldn't more space be allocated for the animals to be able to move around in a free range setting?? Pig on concrete slab... chickens on stones... sad... Also for some reason the man thought that weed whacking the kids play area was a good idea during operating hours, therefore all the kids there (including my son) did not get to play in that area. Then we left because there was nothing else to do. Friendly staff (minus the train driver).

Winery & gift shop in winter

Bill Everson

Very poor experience here. It's listed online as a farm experience to bring kids to but I honestly felt uncomfortable here with my nephew. The petting zoo was about 10 different kind of animals all crammed together in tiny pens, the rabbits didn't have any water in their cages on an incredibly hot day. There is a playground but it's all old sun-faded fisher-price toys that have reached the end of their life. The play structures look unsafe and the property is not very well kept. I would not come here again, or recommend it to others.

A reasonable selection of wines and bits and bobs. We will really need to go back in summer and see what else is on offer. We especially need to come back during peach season and check out their offerings then.

This spectacular seventh generation farm was such a great spot to visit. Puddicombe Farms offers wine, cider, and seasonal produce. We stopped in for a wine tasting, but were met with wine as well as cider. Our wine tasting was part of the Niagara Fun Tours trip we went on. We tried out the Pinot Blanc, Cherry Wine, and the Cider with Hops. The Pinot blanc was quite good, very easy and smooth. The Cherry wine smelled like pie and I could just imagine adding this in to tonnes of recipes. The Cider we were given with hops was amazing, perfect for those who like cider and beer. In the shop, you could purchase different wines as well as have tasting flights. They had many wines for reasonable prices. In the neighboring area, connected to the wine shop, are many artisan items and bakery goods for sale. The shop also features a small area to purchase fresh produce from the farm. Outside the shop, there are a tonne of things to do from looking at the animals, taking a train ride, or taking photos in the cleverly designed areas. The animal area has Emus, Pigs, Chickens and Peacocks. The train is right beside this area. The small train is absolutely precious and is situated beside a much larger train which the owners must have purchased. An additional train car is on the alternate side of the shop, which also is great for photos. The Peach Orchard is open and you can pick your own. Definitely somewhere to take the family!

Arezoo Alamdari

Organized and very welcoming staff. Good place for children to experience several activities all at one place: fruit picking, train tour, small animal farm, live music beside luch BBQ service. We enjoyed all of it!!

Sahar Roohi

great local farm for kids. Riding pony, kids playground, farm animals, delicious pie and live music and wine. So many things to have a great day in the farm for whole family.

Horrible customer service, stuff is extremely rude. They simply dont know how to handle large amounts of people, lack of stuff, and clear signage on there property makes me want to say never again.

The farm was easy to find but the prices were quite expensive. The cherries were $30 per 6 quart basket and the field is quite small relative to other farms. Every year my family and I go to Cherry Avenue Farms or Sun Valley for cherry picking and find that the fields and cherries are much bigger. The size of the field for cherries at puddicombe was around 200 sq ft and when we got there half the trees were empty already. Would definitely recommend the nearby farms such as Cherry Avenue or Sun Valley. Better deal for your money and better quality service as well.

Amin Vali

I go there every year to pick up sour cherry.

Raluca M

Friendly staff. Tractor that takes you to the trees is a nice ride (free). They also have a little train tour that, for about an hour, takes you around their estate ($), definitely fun for kids. They also depit your cherries if you need for jam making; price is good and it's fast. Finally, they have wines inside and offer wine tasting at 25 cents per taste - awesome

No fun for kids....nothing was open. We called ahead and were told the train may be running today but nothing was open , not even the animals. Wine shop was open but it is not what it used to be at all.

Great place to bring the entire family! from babies to grandparents. Also a nice place for a date, wine tasting (award winning, made on site) Petting zoo, fresh homemade jams, jellies, pies and so much more. Live music (check schedule) big fire pit to roast marshmallows, pumpkin patch, site seeing train ride, playground for the little ones. Everything you would want from a family run Farm & Winery and so much more!

We stayed on the farm premises with our RV the summer of 2021. We were provided a personal tour of the property and had a great time with the staff. The store was great place to pick up fresh baked good and meals. The wine was exceptional. They encouraged us to stay as a Harvest Host member and recommended local sights and wineries to explore. This place is a must see.

A bit pricey for the services provided. If you plan on spending a day here prepare to open your wallet

The train ride experience and apple picking in the early fall end of summer is gorgeous. Great family outing. The only negative I have is that the cleanliness of both the store/gift shop and out door play area/grounds is a bit too dated/dirty. The kids play area needs a good clean up. Lovely views and location though.

This place was terrible! There were rabbit feces all over the ground going into the store where you buy food! The women's toilet was clogged and no staff seemed to care. The food was absolutely terrible as it was old and stale. The upstairs area where we ate was a complete mess. No cleaning was being done in regards to Covid regulations, with tables not being cleaned between uses. Unvaccinated people were inside eating, as no one was enforcing health restrictions. Absolutely the dirtiest place I have ever been to. I am surprised that they would pass a health inspection.

Poor service.. We had been about 2 years ago and found the attitude and service lousy. And that remains the same now. We brought our to small children hoping to enjoy apple picking and a fun environment. We were once again let down. Miserable staff and owners???????????????? Go to another farm, this one sucks!

Isaac has hosted our wine tour on Oct 17th 2020 and was an absolute gem! He was very informative with the vineyard and full services that Puddicombe farms provides. Would definitely come back if this Isaac is still around. Very pleased with our “wine tour” experience.

The kids had a great time picking apples and viewing the animals. The fruit is great and wine selection is good. The buildings and play structures are a little old and run down but the kids don't care.

Loved the cherrys!! You get to take as many as you can fit in a basket and they are very sour as well.

Siobhan Watters

Don't believe the social media/review nonsense posted in the last day or two. Long story short a well loved horse of 30 years died on the farm as old animals do and some folks, who don't understand farming and animal care went ballistic on social media. The horse was cared for by a vet, SPCA came out and cleared the owners of any wrong doing. Read the reviews of people who have actually gone to the farm, and enjoyed (or complained) about the place and make your decision to visit based on that.

Allen Martin

Great place to take children. Fun tractor ride

Khal Bishop

Have been going since I was a child. Very disheartened today to hear about negative backlash on the animal controversy. It is very clear they take care of the animals. The goat pen is custom built and extravagant clearly. It is very sad that these people with no clue on the costs of animals feel the need to post reviews and feedback. From a family who has owned horses and worked onn farms, everyone needs to realize this place is doing a good service to injured or abandoned animals. Please grow up or simply just stop talking about what you don't understand. This place is a wonderful experience for families would rate it 5,/5 and look forward to bringing my future children here !

Always a great trip. $12.00 for a 10lb bag of apples and you can pick what ever type you like. Great fudge as well.

Chris Graham

Great place to take kids! The train ride, animals and playground were great. Pick your own fruit is also fun. Lunch on the patio was nice. And then there's the wine... Bought three bottles of wine: raspberry, sauv blanc, and Pinot noir. The Pinot was drinkable (barely), the others were gross and acetic.

Had called in to reserve a train ride spot the day before. When we showed up, the train wasn't running due to needing repairs. One of the ladies working gave our family free wagon ride tickets that saved the day for our lil guy. A little disappointed but was a good experience.

Petra Bauer

I went yesterday and had the pizza and Mac and cheese outside . The pizza was terrible , I think they heated up a frozen pizza because it was done in 5 min and didn’t taste fresh. But the Mac and cheese legit had a big fat fly in it. When I told the girl serving it she apologized and offered something y else but I had totally lost my appetite. The wine we had later that evening and ended up pouring it out because it tasted so bad. It was disappointing very much.

We love Puddicombe Farms! We head here for the pick your own apples, pears and pumpkins. Also have a great little baked goods / jam shop and small little viewing farm. In the summer months there is a small train that goes around the property. Highly recommended stop to add to your traveling list ♥️

Thiviya Varatheswaran

Got a chance yesterday to visit the winery during a tour and had a good time. The pizza was good, not great, but that might be from them freezing it before putting it in the wooden oven. I did love how thin the pizza was however ! The wine we had during our tasting was good but what I really enjoyed was their peach cider ! Absolutely delicious!!

I went pear picking during the first week of September. I found most of the pears the be very firm not ripe. I wish there were more fruits to pick so I can give a better review but since it was only pear picking that was available to us I can only make my judgement off of that. Overall it is a spacious and beautiful farm/area.

Had a wonderful day today at Puddicombe. Enjoyed a few wine tastings and took home 6 bottles:) Kids enjoyed the playground, the farm, feeding the horses and some much needed popsicles. The Staff was very friendly and Victoria who helped us with the wine tasting was very knowledgeable, accommodating and very charming. We really enjoyed the overall charm of the farm and winery. We will certainly visit here again:)

I sent an email asking to book one of their wine tours for my moms birthday. I didn't get a response for days and when I tried calling their voicemail was full. Finally I was able to get through to someome on the phone and I made a reservation for the wine tour at 1pm. I was given no special information for arrival. Once we arrived it was incredibly unclear where we were supposed to go but there was a long line for the building so we just got in the line. I asked multiple staff members and they all said to wait in the line. It look 30 minutes to get into the building which made us arrive way later than our 1pm reservation time. When I got in the building I had no idea who to go to about the wine tour so just started asking random staff. Mostly no one knew what to tell me other than I had to wait for a lady named Heather. Finally we found Heather and she told us to wait outside. We were supposed to get a train tour but it turned out to be a tractor instead. We didnt get on the tractor until 2pm which is an hour after my reservation time. At this point I just wanted my wine samples and to leave. After the tractor tour we had to go back inside to find the lady for the tasting. We got our pie and wine samples but I was disapointed as there was no real description of the wines or how they are made. We just drank them and they weren't very good. I paid the $100 bucks and left but wish I made a reservation somewhere else for my moms bday it was a bit of a bummer. If you are looking for a wine tour just make the trip to niagara on the lake.

Brilliant place and really great people. My family had a fantastic time and would definitely be heading back.

The wines are good, reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and helpful. The amusements are tired, and if they're going to be featured, would certainly benefit from a sprucing-up. Puddicombe Farms is a Harvest Host, and we spent a night in our motorhome parked beside an orchard. The view of the Niagara Escarpment and a drop-dead gorgeous sunset made for a fabulous summer night! Three thumbs-up for hospitality and fine wine.

This is a working farm - great for the kids! Train is the main attraction, kids LOVE it. Food snack options are good, however the wine / cider was undrinkable. Great place, don't expect it to be pristine (it's a working farm) -- and avoid the wine / cider at all costs.

Hamed Fathiannasab

Had a great experience here at Puddicombe Farms. It is for two years in a row we went there for sour cherry picking. Very big farm with lots of parking spots.

Jeff

Picked up some proper pumpkin pie and reserve self branded merlot. Live music on weekends, too bad no cider left. Train ride is 10 bucks each! Kid at the gate didn't even say anything and no signs indicating this. Wheres the tractor ride? Zoo was only a few bucks but not many animals, the cages look poorly kept. Playground didnt look safe or clean. Nice place but needs a overhaul.

Realtor Najib Shams

Nice place! However needs more improvements in transferring or carrying guests to the farm. Truck is unsafe because of the no barrier between, one of them even does not have any seats. Guests were hanging their feet on the side of truck that I found it very unsafe. Assisting stools or ladders to get to the high branches were not many. Not enough washrooms, people have to wait on the lines under sun till the truck comes. Overall, staffs were nice, the farm was very clean, the sour cherry was very enticing and delicious. Therefore, for the future, good strategy, planning and effective managing strategy would definitely make this farm one of the best if improved. Do I go again next year? Certainly, yes if the above improvements are implemented.

Do you want to enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful scenery of the countryside? Come to Puddicombe Farms. ???????????? I love everything about this place!!! The location, the wine, the fruit, the treats in their store. When reading other reviews from other visitors, I think it is important for everyone to remember a couple of things. 1) it is a WORKING farm. This means that the farm is operating in a way to bring in its fruit and still continue to serve the public 2) They are farmers trying to do their best to bring their harvest to you. 3)When you are going to "pick your own" this does not mean you can dig up some of their plants and then ask staff how to care for them (i kid you not i literally watched someone do this). This is stealing and damaging. 4) When they ask you to wear gloves and masks. Wear them for your safety and the safety of others. 5) wine tasting on this working farm is a really difficult thing to right now but they are doing their best. This farm is not quite far from Toronto – it’s just south of Hamilton. You can have a day trip in here and pick your own beautiful sweet cherries. Puddicombe Estate is a family-run fruit farm, winery and cidery, operating for over 220 years. Enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful countryside scenery while sharing and making memories with friends and family at Puddicombe Farms. Support them. Farmers feed cities.

Visited this farm/winery to check out their selection of ciders. I was pleasantly surprised by how many different ciders they have. Staff was super friendly, helpful and beyond knowledgeable. We tasted all the ciders and decided on the 3 or 4 we liked best to purchase. I love the old vintage look of the whole place, it has great character!! Plus the cute old dog wandering around adds to the warm family feel. I will come back, and will recommend to everyone I know!

Puddicombe must have one heck of a web designer as their website makes the farm look amazing. However, it is old, run down and expensive. The "playground" needs to be updated for children of all ages if you're expected to pay $2 a person just to walk around. The food is obscenely expensive and limited considering they call it a cafe, $8 for a small bowl of chili or Mac and cheese. $10 to ride a pony and $5 per person to ride the train. Overall experience was terrible. There are much better farms to spend the day at such as Springridge and Chudleighs.

They were very organized, lots to do in addition to picking fruits, my daughter enjoyed the train ride a lot, not very impressed by their playground or the "zoo". I went there for sour cherry picking which was fun

Fun for the kids

P Kaur

It's a nice outing during covid, good place to take the children. The choo choo train ride for $9/person is fun, but sadly, by October 1st the apple pickings are just okay. There is no entrance fee, yet there are a few animals for the kids to see. After a long drive, it would be nice to sit and a meal together on one of their many benches. However, their food offerings could be great, but they are not! Worse still, they don't let you bring your own healthy, vegetarian options either. Their gift shop is very poor. With a little bit of restructuring, the experience could he exceptional. That said, the singer entertaining the crowds is great.

E B

Nice people working but I am really not a fan of their wines or ciders.

Anzhelika Marion-Camargo

Was there on Saturday, July 6th with my family. What a huge disappointment. This was our 3rd and last time there. They are now charging 2$ extra for the box for your cherries on top of 25$ for the cherries and they charged 2$ for my 2.5 year old nephew. He maybe ate 5 cherries. The worst part was that most of the cherries (85%) were damaged from rain or something else, and went bad the next day in the fridge. What a waste of money! Also, they charge you 6.5$ per person for the train ride and that's with a discount because you already bought the cherries. No thank you! Plus, you cannot even access half of the animals as it is blocked off. Lastly, a suggestion for the owners - you should hose down the playground equipment at least once in a while as most of it is absolutely filthy! We are taking our business elsewhere. Save your money and find another farm to go to.

Not a very nice outing. This is a working farm with visitors a secondary consideration. A lot of heavy vehicle traffic, workers moving and farm implements strewn about. The play area is an assortment of discarded fisher price play sets. Farm animals are visible but kids can't pet or feed them (though the animals appear to be in good health). Train was broken. The staff in the store were very friendly but selection was limited. Signage was very poor making it difficult to find points of entry to pick your own (pyo) areas. You also have to pay ahead of time for PYO vs by weight at the end.

THIS PLACE WAS SO GROSS IT SMELT LIKE ASS AND THE WINE WAS SO BAD IT TASTED LIKE DOG FOOD THE WORKERS ARE BAD AND RUDE TO THE CUSTOMERS AND ITS JUST A BAD PLACE TO GO TO

My American friends love Puddicombe wines, and we go the Farms each time they come to Ontario. Our last visit was in August 2021. Things we liked: - wine selection, according to my friends (I'm not a wine drinker) - ciders - cute rabbit - friendly staff in the wine room - cool train Things we did not like: - Shabby place with junk piled all over the property - Very expensive food - Expensive fruits (other farms have better prices) If you live nearby, the place is worth visiting. If not, go elsewhere.

I would even give zero for unfriendly staffs, unsupervized farm ; zero for picking notting; I took my senior parents to cafe to use washrooms but they did not let us get in and said to use outdoor portable ones which was really difficult for seniors to step in and out; they did not provide sanitizer and asked everybody to buy gloves for 2 dollars which is not mandetory if they provide sanitizer.trees were empty the owner picked all the cherries already and noting left to pick for us. No one was at buffet to serve and guide visitors as visitors were helping each others. This was the third time I had visited there and even getting worse. I do not recommend people going there. Honestly It seems they do not care about visitors if so why they take visitors if they do not count on them. Cherries were not sweet and is wasting money. Even they increased the each basket price crazy. I also went to few farms at markham and king city and never had same experience as like as Puddicomb. The worse farm have ever seen. honestly I feel sad for this kind of managements but they need to review their strategies and costumer services. it looks like running out. Do not waste yout time and money .

Very nice...excellent service all round. Purchased a case of wine and 2 pies. Especially nice lady providing wine samples.

What a disappointment! I came here with my husband , his mother who was visiting and my 2 yr old. The petting zoo was a bunch of caged animals with filthy pens and overgrown weeds. There was a small play area full of plastic climbing toys that had seen much better days. My son played for a bit while we waited for a train ride. The train squeaked and squealed it's way around heaps of garbage strewn on the property. It was a mess and quite disgusting. We gave the gift shop a wide berth. I have been to many "working" farms and have never seen such squalor. Save your pennies or spend them elsewhere.

B. W

Great time at Cider Fest!

.

They have train rides.... Pick your own cherries, sour cherries, peaches, apples, pears... The train ride is 9$/person...a bit pricey... The play area is overgrown and closed due to COVID-19.... When we were there on Canada day, they had a really good musician playing guitar

TheTravelling PostCard

WAY overpriced: Stopped for a walk around, ordered some pie; when it came it was full of mold, sent it back and the uncaring lady brought a second piece which was also moldy... NOT a nice place to stop, it is old, run down and overpriced...

Svetlana Franz

This is the first review I have ever written. We called in advance and were told that they still have a lot of beautiful cherries left. We arrived and were told to pay for the cherries before we had even seen or picked them, with no refund, and were once again told there were many cherries. When the tractor brought us to the orchard, we saw many cherries on the trees, but every single cherry -and I'm not exaggerating at all- was damaged, rotten, moldy, or infested with worms. We could not even taste or pick a single cherry to fill our basket. We decided to walk back to the desk and told them that there were no good cherries, in response, the cashiers told us that there were many beautiful cherries, implying that we were lying. They pointed at the sign and told us we could not get a refund for the two baskets we had paid for although we didn't have a single cherry in them. We decided not to argue with these teenage workers and asked to see the manager. After 10 minutes of waiting, she appeared and rudely told us she did not want to speak to us. "I don't wanna hear what you have to say", she said and brushed us off, ordering the cashiers to give us our refund, as she threw our baskets away. I would never recommend to anyone to go to this place and definitely will not come back ever again. The way they do their business is completely unethical, forcing you to pay in advance and failing to provide you with a quality product. Service is rude on all levels.

Mary Smith

We went past weekend july 14th to pick up cherries. The cherries were not ripe but the owner at the gate told us it's ripe and ready for pickup. Once we got inside we couldn't find any nice sweet cherry. We were about five six families and each family got two baskets worth 30 dollars each basket. Since the cherries weren't good we decided to go back and get our money but it wasn't refundable. So very disappointed and waste of our money. So don't trust anyone at enternce since they just want to sell their products.

Shelby Stanat

We just left Puddicombe farms and had a wonderful experience. The employee working the wine counter (didn't catch his name, sorry!) was extremely informative and took the time to chat with us about their wines, ciders, and his time working at Puddicombe. He was very personable and we felt in no rush to be on our way. We were sorry to hear the explanation of the cyberbullying posters scattered throughout the farm. It's a shame people can't appreciate the hard work it takes to care for animals (especially ones already at a disadvantage!) Thank you for the authentic family farm experience. (We understand dust happens)

Had such a pleasant visit to Puddicombe Farms! My partner and I picked our pumpkins and made some cider/wine purchases in the shop. The staff were super friendly! Their peach cider is amazing and their canned sangrias are to die for! Will definitely visit again in the future

Dan McLean

Run down. Looks like they have lost interest in what was once probably a nice place to visit. Don't waste your time.

Patrick

Had a good experience here at Puddicombe Farms. It is a nice place to pick your own cherries. I found a lot of good cherries (medium sized) but a lot of them were split in the middle as well. It is a busy place on the weekends, so go early if you need to find parking or get the good cherries on the trees. They have a nice shop as well, entertainment and eating area outside. Staff is professional as well too during COVID times, making sure everyone is wearing masks outside, so people don't feel like they need to worry about others near them.

Chad Wismer

Beautiful farm and very friendly helpful staff. They have tons of great things in their store from wine's, to hard apple ciders in a large variety, great selection of honey, pies, baked goods, different food, tons of trinkets and much, much, more, too many to list. Everything is made fresh right from the farm. Beautiful outdoor seating to enjoy live entertainment, playing an assortment of excellent music while you enjoy a drink and snacks or food from their wonderful store. One of my favorite places I visit frequently. Definitely recommend this place!!!!!!

corey newell

We go cherry picking every year

Mary Dee

We travelled almost 2 hours and when we got there we were told that there were no more apples and we were not allowed to walk through the Orchards. They told us they haven't updated their website yet and they were sorry. The menu up in their Bakery had quite a few items but while we were trying to order we were told that many of the things were no longer being made even though they were written on the board. We sat a few minutes at a picnic table and made the trek back home.

Quite disturbed by the picture of their downed horse. He’s all RIBS! That poor animal was starved!

This farm gave my family a horrible experience! The staff were so rude and not helpful at all! When we went to purchase some wine at the shop they were not helpful in terms of what is the better wine, etc, we were the only brown family in the store and they only catered to the white customers. will not be going again!!

Victoria C

Paid to get in to see the animals and walk the farm/orchard. They had some animals but we were through looking at them within 5 mins. I also noticed that many of the animals seemed to be in poor condition, birds with lots of feathers missing, horses looking quite skinny, goats in very small areas with a questionable walking structure for them. Went to walk in the orchard but we got told that we could not enter unless we purchased a bag to pick apples despite being told previously we could walk around. We went on the train ride and it was nice to see the orchards and various trees however the train broke down (although beyond their control added to the let down of the day). Would not recommend.

Tim Woo

Came here after going to the Winona peach festival. Probably the better peach festival in the area. The farm is great. Lots of peach products and has good activities for the kids. Will come here again

A nice drive in the country leads to a place where you can pick out a Christmas Tree and do some wine tasting at the same venue! Their roadside sign elicited a response. Maybe the only way to survive living a rural existence, same applies to cottage country, ferment everything. Drink responsibly! It's a fun place for adults and children alike with in season train rides through the orchards. A lot of time and effort has gone into this farm retail experience that offers local foods, educational programs, campfires and estate tours. Convenient access just south (towards the Niagara escarpment) off the QEW in Stoney Creek at the Fifty Road interchange.

Awesome place LOTS for children to do and see

Been a great tradition for years with apple picking. Went last weekend and was a great day and great variety of apples. Visit this time was great as usual until the end when myself and kids went into the store to purchase some treats. Lady behind the counter was extremely rude to the kids and myself so we ended walking out. Not a good end to the visit.

So well organized with treats, food, crafts and drinks (adult and child beverages) at every stop. Great photos with Santa in front of the train. Thanks Puddicombe for a great Christmas experience. This used to be one of go to places when we want a wholesome family fun. The train ride through the farm is something the kids always enjoyed, seeing the animals as well. The fudge is a must have! however, this year we decided to skip because , they have this $20 per person fall weekend festival. really $20? it's an old run down place, old play area and the buffet is a blah. there are other farms in the area, skip this one.

Patricia Eboru

Not a lot to do there beside the tractor ride and some wine tasting. Staff were nice and overall kids had a good time.

Brianne Bouk

We recently just had our sons birthday party here. We had never visited the farm before but I had seem many photos that made the farm look lovely. We were so excited. When we arrived we were told that the staff were working hard all day to prepare for our party and that they would be out soon as we arrived early. This sounded very promising! When we were greated by our hostesses, they were so lovely. In fact, everyone at the farm was very warm, welcoming and inviting. As we waited for more guests the hostess checked in to see if we were ready to head to the train car where the 2 hour party would take place. We headed over to the train car to find a deck that had not been well kept with a stack of filthy patio furniture. The hostesses opened the door of the train car and welcomed us in. During the welcoming they said the train car hadn't been opened since Christmas. (Werent they working so hard to prepare for us all day?) The train car was hot and smelt very musty. There was rusted metal sticking out of party and a brick suspended from the ceiling in a manner in which was not very safe. May I remind you this is a toddler birthday party and from what we saw at first glance this was not a toddler friendly environment. We decided it was best if we remained out on the patio area as it was cooler. The hostesses were very helpful in setting up and arranging the furniture. They even headed back to the main office to grab something to wipe everything down. They then told us that the train ride is scheduled for 230 and if we don't make it to see the goats before, we can totally make it to see them after as they brought a bucket of feed over with them. We boarded the train around 230 and didn't make it off the train till about 330. This was the longest train ride I had ever expected! It was lovely and very informative but in our opinion WAY to long. After we got off the train the hostess brought over the food to the old rusted train car which consisted of hot dogs, chips and a fruit tray. All in which were very mediocre but we knew what food we were getting when we booked the party. The fruit was delicious! Once the food was served the ladies said they would bring the cupcakes by in 15 minutes. By the time the cupcakes arrived it was 4 and our scheduled party time was over. We then asked the hostesses where the petting zoo was for the kids as the farm was still open for another hour or so (the petting zoo trip was supposed to be included in our party fee..). We headed over to where the animals were kept and turned right back around. There was a total of 3 animals. An emu and 2 pigs. All in small, sad looking enclosures. I would have loved to say we had such a great time here, but we are disappointed to say the least. We spent $400 on a birthday party that none of our guests enjoyed overall.

Their animals are treated very poorly

Marissa Scattolon

I’ve been going here since I was a kid and have nothing but good memories. I now take my nephew here and he absolutely love the animals. I do think it’s sad that because of one person who clearly didn’t have the facts straight they are now dealing with all of this backlash and negative reviews from people who are just basing their opinion off of hearsay, some may have never even been to the farm before. Don’t trust everything you read on the internet!

I would actually give them zero star if I could, I drove 100kms to get with my in laws there and kids have no respect for seniors, no accomodation for washrooms, urged the price $10 per basket, no sanitizing provided on entrance and they forced us to wear gloves and because we didn't have they forced us to buy from them for $2/pair for a rubbery latex gloves trees were empty already and lots of dried trees, worst ever farm I've been very rude kids and talk back to seniors, I don't recommend this place to no one. I'm a person who believe in supporting the farmers and agriculture but my experience today was the worst farm I've been

Reza Danak

Big lie to customer all fruit where damage and fungus because of rain and they sold the baskets to customers and didn't tell them and several times they mention to us no refund and when we went to the Garden we realize what does mean

Brian Harkness

Always great quality fruit, clean facilities, friendly staff, don’t let the low ratings sway you from visiting, the bakery is amazing! Great selection and quality products. Highly recommend the Carmel apple pie !!

Very disappointed. We wanted to buy a cider and walk the grounds. Room temp cider was $3.50 and refrigerated was $8.95! What a rip off. Secondly there really no grounds to walk on. Just a tired old area with caged animals and a lot of junk lying around. With a little bit of effort this could be a nice place to visit. Train ride seemed ok and staff were friendly enough.

Great time here. Love the place. I stand with them through the stupidity of people commenting negativity. I work and understand farming and animals and this is a great establishment. Suitable for families looking to have country fun. Highly recommended!

J J

What a disappointment. Mounds of clutter thrown around everywhere. We took a tractor ride through the fields, which was visually pretty, until we started to pass by random heaps of trash strewn around. We have visited many “working farms” and I guess we have been spoiled with how well the rest of them have been presented. Even their indoor wine tasting area was unorganized and unkempt. Untidy restrooms. Overpriced. Will not return, will not recommend.

Disappointed with Puddicombe. Staff are very unfriendly especially with young children. Playground is a safety hazard. Animals in small cages are unkept and not taken care of. It’s a nice place to spend some time with family and friends. No entry fee is required. 25 minutes train ride is there (for kids & adults), cost is around 8$ per person. Recently they have changed their firm closing time, it’s 4pm now. Employees are very nice and helpful.

I went to Puddicombe today to get strawberries and an apple pie for dessert. The Apple pie that I got was just out of the oven. I thought that it would be great that it was just baked. Unfortunately when I got home and took it out of the box, it was burnt. Both the top crust and the bottom crust. I expected better from a bakery. It was also unfortunate that I wasn’t able to see the pie before it was put in the box. I would not recommend getting an Apple pie from here.

I drove 30 minutes to get here on the last weekend of August, half an hour after opening and they wouldn't sell me any peaches. There was a tractor and trailer in the parking lot loaded with peaches, but I was told they needed to be sorted first. Aparently all the peaches were taken to the Peach festival. I was told I had two choices - wait around until later, or go to the Peach festival and buy some there. Maybe next time the could save some peaches for their drive in customers.

I attended puddicombe farms today for a birthday for a friend of my daughter who was turning three .. the birthday party was set for a 2 hour time limits. Upon arrival it seemed as though they were not prepared and un aware they had a birthday party taking place today .. we were left setting in the front common area for 30 minutes before someone came asking if we were the group for the birthday party and moved us to a different area. We were told the tractor would be coming to take us for a ride in 5 minutes after waiting another 15 minutes with no tractor and the kids playing with stick and rocks ( as we were still in the front area just moved further away where there was nothing to do ) the brought out the hot dogs that were suppose to be roasted on a fire which was not done. They offered to “relight” the fire for us ( which is part of the package and was also actually never originally lit) the hot dogs we were told were “warmed” but they were actually pretty cold.. we were then rushed from one part of the party to the next as we had already lost 45 minutes and were not offered any extended time or a discount on the party price considering we lost 45 minutes of our two hour party. It is thanksgiving long weekend and the place was extremely packed however I feel if you can not accomadte properly during high traffic times .. birthday parties should not be offered during those times .. as well as I feel a discount should have been offered considering the circumstances. It was a very disappointing experience and extra stressful when it should of been a fun, happy, smooth birthday party.

Don’t book a birthday at this location, you get very little for the cost of the party. For a 400$ Kids birthday party we got a extremely hot train to eat it in that we were told hasn’t been aired out since Christmas time. And you can tell just by the smell of the train. There was a large deck that was attached to the train with Christmas decorations still on it. And we had to set up the tables and chairs out on the deck and when we brought this up we were told they only pull them out for “ special occasions” I’m sorry for 400$ please put the tables out clean them and open the train door in the morning to get that smell out. The 20-30mim train ride turned into 1 hour and because of this we didint get much time to open gifts/eat ,our party ended at 4:00 and our cake didint show up till 4:00. I think this location is very overpriced and not kid friendly. Id suggest anyone thinking about hosting a party/event here to goo look at the location first.

We went to puddicombe farms after checking out their website stating that it was $20 for those over 5 years old. Once we got there however the teenage girl at the booth informs us that its $20 per person. That would mean it would cost my family $80. When we stated that their site states differently her explanation was very vague. We just got train tickets for $20 total & were so glad we didn't waste our money on anything else because if we had paid $80 it would have been an utter waste once we saw what the farm actually had to offer. Very misleading and disappointing experience altogether. Will not be visiting this place again!!
