If the polar bears arent out, it's a bit of a disappointment. But if they're out, then this is a world class location. The harbour seals are just a blast with the kids getting them to do acrobatics in the water. I was also blown away at the 360 theater, with breath taking cinematics. The tundra grill is a bit steep, but you're helping pay the mortgage. The play structure is amazing. Kids love it.

Good and very beautiful place to see animals from a close distance. I could see Seals and Polar bears here. Animals were very happy and enjoying a lot. I have two concerns here, the first is animals had very limited water to have fun and their water area was crowded. A larger water area would have been much better for them. The second concern I have is, there was a limited glass area to see the animals. Again a large window space will not only allow visitors to see the animals from different angles, but larger window with larger animal space will avoid stress on the animals. Apart from these two feedbacks, I would say that authorities are doing very good job. This is a must see thing when you are in Winnipeg.

My review of this exhibit will echo the overall review of the zoo. Loved it. I took my kids to the zoo on Canada day and this part was definitely my favorite. It was awesome watching polar bears swim above and beside you as you walk through the glass tunnel. The seal exhibit was also awesome to see. I could of spent the entire day there just watching the polar bears and seals but I have a 2 year old and patience isn't a thing 2 year olds are know for. If you go to the Winnipeg zoo, you have to go to the journey to Churchill.

Having been to the Winnipeg Zoo several times this was a brand-new display for me as I haven't been to the zoo in many years. We enjoyed the seals and the polar bears and the information we gained from the various plaques and displays. The shark movie although informative was trying on our patients as the pace was slow and information was sparse. The native drumming and chanting nearly put us to sleep. Would have been nice to have somewhere to sit down as well.

Loved every minute of our time here, it was a great opportunity to enjoy a nice walk, while taking in the animal enclosures. The Polar Bears had to be the favourite exhibit. With the vast majority being outside, it was a great opportunity to stretch our legs after several long driving days.

Been here a few times. The Zoo has been going through continual improvments over the last few years. Inclosures are getting bigger and better for the animals. Always a good visit. It is good to go here at least once a year to see everything.

Amazing zoo. The upgrades have been fantastic. The Winnipeg soon has turned it self around. Used to be a smelly dump. Now it is amazing. Fantastic. The best. It's nice to see Winnipeg is able to have nice things. We are not going to be a Saskatoon. And I mean there was a time where I wasn't impressed with Winnipeg and how they spent their money. However now we at least are seeing a little bit of that money put to actually use. Now we just need to do something about those stupid traffic circles, stupid bike lanes in a city with winter driving for 8 months a year, and rapid transit roads that don't work. Maybe we can use that as an express toll road or anything. We spend all that money for something that we can only get about 2% of the population of the city get utility out of it.

Journey to Churchill and The Horse Stables are some of the favorites when we make our family trips to the Zoo! What can you say about the Journey? It’s a world class exhibit and research station right here in Winnipeg!! The viewing tunnels are magical for the young kids to explore in and to witness the size and grace of the bears. The seals are often in a great mood and put on quite the show. Make a stop at the Tundra Grill for a bite while looking out over the tundra developed for the Bears. I like the chicken fingers. If you sit next to the Window, you might even get a bear wandering up to take a look at your lunch. With dine in eating being paused for now, you can still grab a bite or a hot chocolate to take with you on the rest of your tour thru the zoo. From there you can make your way around to the horses which the kids love as well. We can’t wait for Aunt Sally’s Farm to open up and bring back all that nostalgia of our youth. It looks like it’s on track to open in the spring and I’m sure it will be quite popular once it does. Kudo’s to the Assiniboine Park Conservancy for it’s continues investment in our cherished park and zoo.

Journey to Churchill is a wonderful experience for all ages to enjoy! Being able to see the polar bears play and enjoy themselves almost as if they were still in the wild is a beautiful thing. The seals also hold their own to try and steal the show!

Truly impressive display with a variety of ways to interact and learn. Great for families as there is a very cool play centre indoors, as well as a park designed like a life sized bowhead whale skeleton! Places for photos, for playing, for admiring the animals and for learning about life in the North. Get up close and personal woth the polar bears, arctic foxes, and seals! What an amazing addition to the zoo!

Nice trip to know about the artic polar circuit, your animals, weather. The animals are very well care, in excellent conditions, clean and healthy. Very nice presentation about the life in the Boreal forest and Churchill Bay. Bones and skeletons of different animals and the main attraction: the under water observatory of seals and polar bears.

My experience at this zoo is generally the same whenever I visit. Parking can be a nightmare during peak time unless you're okay with walking and burning some calories. Due to COVID-19, things were a bit different. But not much. Tickets Need to purchased either online or at the front office. Most of the animals were more active and playful. The park was also not as crowded as it usually is. The shows were put on hold. I also recommend visiting the butterfly garden. It's very beautiful and well kept.

The Journey to Churchill exhibit is amazing. It's definitely a world class exhibit. There are seven seals currently with the two new additions that were added in the last few months. There's either nine or eleven bears I can't remember at the moment but anyway you look at it it's lots. Almost always lots of action with the bears.

The exhibit rather boring. Though the screen is very large it's distance makes it seem still quite lacking. The seats are just improvised; they use basic waiting chairs which are not the most comfortable to sit. The actual video was very slow and drawn out while teaching very little that could not be learnt elsewhere.

Amazing experience. We planned a corporate event and the staff were very helpful in planning. Catered food by Journey To Churchill was very good. It was a great venue and was enjoyed by everyone, especially the out of town guests. Polar bears are spectacular and the seals are very interactive and playful.

Seals are always putting on a show, so graceful in the water. During our visit it was 18C and surprisingly not all bears were resting in the shade. One took a splash on the pool and played. Two others roamed at interacted in front of diners at the cafe. Interactive exhibits are quite educational for youth and adults.

A great zoo exhibit featuring polar bears swiming in a pool that has glass tunnels you walk through. It also has seals, caribou, arctic foxes and other animals. Well worth the price of admission. Make sure you check put the snow leapards.

There are a number of outdoor viewing areas for the polar bears, along with interesting information posted along the way. Very well designed, as when you're in one viewing area, you can't see the other areas and it feels less like a zoo and more like you're peering into the bears' real habitat. The video in the Aurora Borealis Theatre was both beautiful and educational. The unique indoor playground gives a nice break in the day. The highlight, of course, was walking through the tunnels and seeing the polar bears and seals swimming above us! The improvements to the zoo when they made this exhibit is like night and day! We were proud to bring our out-of-town guests to the zoo.

The tunnel the bears swim over can get very crowded when the polar bears are out swimming. Bears seem to be swimming about 50% of the time I'm there. If you dont see them swimming, you can usually see them from the restaurant windows.

Perfect time to show up at the Journey to Churchill at the Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg, MB. When we arrived we got to see 2 of the Polar bears play fighting and putting on an amazing show. Continuing through the Journey to Churchill there was one polar bear telling the zoo staff that he/ she was hungry by showing them the empty pail. If you have the chance, I highly suggest checking out the Journey to Churchill at the Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg, MB and all their friends. Taking into account the current situation world-wide (COVID-19), if your still travelling for work or any occasion; and are making a stop over in Winnipeg and want a chance to see the Polar Bears and all their friends check this deal I came across out, I posted a picture of it down below. And best of all, it's a great way to get out, enjoy the sceneries, learn some new things and social distance at the same time.

I love coming to the zoo and seeing all the animals. The staff are always knowledgeable and friendly and it's just great walking around and checking it out

Really neat exhibit, great for kids. The tundra grill is really beautiful with the big windows looking into the polar bear enclosure and has a great play area for children.
