Called a week in advance to make an appointment and was told 4pm Tuesday, I arrive and they don't have me on the list. I even called back from the nunber in my call log nothing. Very unimpressed, I am the best man at a wedding this saturday and they just ruined that experience. Not to mention I had to drive 30min just to get here to be sent away. So what was the point of calling to book an appointment??

Worst ever experience for haircut in Cambridge. Tried with Doreen who communicated so rudely and had more interest in selling their products rather than actual hair-cut service. She cut my hair so bad that I would give zero star if I could. Never recommend this place.

It was the first time i went to this place. I showed my old picture to the lady just to give her better idea what i want but she just ruined my hairs, she cut my hairs too short it was not even close to what i wanted. I had to wait for a month until my hairs grow back in order to fix them. Also, the other old lady working there was so rude, she had 0 customer skills and was utterly rude to non white people. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all.

I and my family have been seeing Zina for a long time now. I am so happy with her friendly attitude and her professional knowledge. She does my kids hair and they love seeing her. She knows what looks right, and always does a great job. I have long hair that I get trimmed and layered and she always shows me how much she's cutting off and confirms that it is the length I want. I will be continuing to see her for as long as possible.

My first time here I came in for a simple trim and some long layers. There were 3 people working and said it would be about 10 minutes. I waited over 40 minutes when the lady finally took me. When I sat down, the other hairdresser that just finished up a customer, went outside the store to clean despite there being 5 people waiting. Neither of the other two thought to go get him. He eventually did come in. When the lady started cutting my hair she said I had a lot of flakes in my hair (I was aware). I told her I knew I had dandruff and she proceed to tell me that it wasn't dandruff but left over shampoo. I got my hair checked afterwards and it was dandruff which I controlled using dandruff shampoo. If you don't know what you're talking about don't talk about it. The lady took forever doing my hair and did not do what I had asked in terms of layers. All three hairdressers spent my time their gossiping about fellow associates. It was not correct to do in front of that many customers and while I'm in the chair getting my hair cut. Overall they did not care about me or what I wanted and were much too chill. I work in customer service and that is not how you treat a customer.

My son and I went here last week to get a haircut. It was on a sunday, so the waiting time was only about 5 mins. However, after I got my haircut, I asked the lady for some changes; and she said "ok.." and grinned at her co worker. It was very obvious as to what shes laughing about; I thought that was quite rude as she has no right to judge what I do and dont want to do with my hair. Wouldn't reccomend this to any family or friends; would rather take the 10 min drive to great clips in kitchener.

First Choice does not have the best reputation, but I decided to go anyway because I did not feel like spending a lot of money on a trim (BIG mistake). The salon is nice and so are the employees, but I absolutely hate my haircut. Zina did not listen to my instructions and chopped off and layered between 6 and 10 inches of my previously long hair. It will probably take a full year to grow back. After 2 months I still feel angry when I look in the mirror. Never again!

I come here if I have to, or if I need a quick trim. Although employees are very nice they don't always do the best job, but they try. I wouldn't come here for an extravagant style, or a major cut. I do find they either take too much or too little off and it happens more often than not. For the price, I don't usually mind and it's never been a horrible experience.

I have been coming to FC for years, but now the prices are getting ridiculous. Stylist adjusted her mask every 5 seconds thoughout my haircut. That's NOT the way to stop the spread of covid-19. I'll definitely be looking for a new place to get my hair cut.

I been going this place for 15 something years, hair dresser used to be ok back in days but now lately they are very rude no appreciation of your business. It's more like why are here leave us alone kinda attitude. After 15 years going there I not once got a thankyou from theses people. I don't know what it is either their workers are under paid or they just don't get training to appreciate the customers. Anyway I don't like writing negative about any business but I feel that people need to know this, you deserve better. It's not like you are getting a hair cut for half the price I always give tips. Take your business somewhere where they appreciate your business. I will not return to first choice ever again. Very disappointing behaviour yesterday evening when I was there for a hair Cut and I just left without getting one.

I had a great experience here getting my long, to the middle of my back, hair cut off by ANA. She did an excellent job & was quite quick. Even better than that, the staff were very accommodating of my 2 children. They allowed the kids to sit in other styling chairs & watch their dad getting all of his hair cut off. I made an appointment for someone to cut my sons hair at 11am when they opened on a Sunday. There was a nice guy there already just cutting someone’s hair. He said our girl was just running late. I said no problem. It was snowing so I tried to be understanding. She was 18 MINS LATE and then called the guy working to ASK HIM IF HE WANTED A COFFEE because she was stopping for herself….. how thoughtful, yet she didn’t think about how that might make her even more late. We left immediately and went to magicuts who was more than happy to have our business. I will never go to this particular first choice EVER again. RUDE.

The guy couldn't tolerate is, so he left without getting his haircut. - She was very friendly to person number 1 and person number 4. - Number 1 and number 4 were the only white individuals among four clients - I will never go to this place again - I felt as if we were in Mississippi in 1960s - Do not go to this place - The one who took care of us was nice. They were able to accommodate me in their bookings same day, but it felt like from the way they were speaking about the scheduling like I was a burden that messed up their whole day. I only requested a shampoo and a flat iron service, and was surprised to see my total was nearly $50. I have previously used other First Choice locations with much lower rates.. but I was satisfied with the final product.

I was so scared to come to a place to get my hair done instead of doing it myself because it was not a 'normal' cut. I was scared Id be judged because it wasnt just a straight chop off the bottom but Brent did so so good on my hair. I made an appointment for 1:00 pm today and when i got there they told told they are running a bit late. I waited outside for 30 minutes and they took two other customer ahead of me. I thought it takes another 30 minutes before they are ready for me. I didn't wait any longer. They seemed to have double booked. Shouldn't do that to people.

Absolutely ridiculous customer service and horrible attitude from staff. I went to this location on Hespeler Rd this weekend to get my kid a haircut. The attendant asked me for my contact number at which I explained that I dont want to give my contact number due to privacy reasons. The attendant was adamant and pulled up completely wrong claim that it is a federal law to give contact number! I told her there is no such law to give a "Barber" contact number to get a haircut; obviously the location has no idea about data privacy laws. Upon this, the attendant stubbornly refused to provide me service stating that I will not be served at this location as I am refusing to give contact number. I am in process of filing legal complaint against this location with Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.

The staff member that greeted me when I entered did not smile once. She just took my name and told me to wait. Very unfriendly atmosphere. The person that trimmed my hair did a good job. But she just waved a blow dryer at the back of my hair a few times, even though I asked her to dry it. She was in a rush and didn't want to spend any more time. My hair was still very wet when I walked out of there.
