This was my first time coming up here and it was great! We saw pretty much every animal we wanted to see and the staff were very polite. Can't wait to plan another trip!
Compared to other zoos I've visited this one is pricey, but fun -- hence the four stars. It's best to wear comfortable walking shoes. Keep in the mind: Altitude is a factor here so drink plenty of water. If you're not used to it, you will feel the impact as this zoo has a gradual incline from exhibit to exhibit. The areas we enjoyed the most were the giraffe feeding experience -- they will slobber all over your hand. Pro tips: Break up the lettuce into smaller pieces so you can feed them more than once and don't forget about the shorter giraffes peeking through the bottom. Show them some love, too! There are hand-washing stations nearby when you're done. Also, we enjoyed the bird feeding experience. The primate and big cat areas were also really neat. As far as kids, there are some fun experiences for them and free play areas. Also, the sky ride is a unique experience if you have a chance to do it, I highly recommend! We had adults in our group and were able to comfortably experience the entire zoo in about 2.5 hours. When we had younger kids in the group it is a much longer day experience, but still a fun one. Enjoy your visit!
We're members, so we're going often. Even we go VERY often, every time we go it's so new and fun. My daughter is learning many things. This zoo is like my daughter's playground and school. We love this place.
Cute zoo. Lots of fun animals and very close encounters. Lots of fun little kid areas for them to enjoy. Tickets I thought where pricey compared to other zoos. The gift shop was small. I was hoping for more stuffed animals options for the kids. They didn’t have maps, so we accidentally skipped some exhibits. We eat lunch and the pizza and fries were delicious. The burger and hot dog was not bad but wouldn’t buy it again for the price. Of the zoo staff corrected me on something I was telling my kids about in the wolf enclosure. . Told me I was wrong and there was no such thing; in front of lots of people. It was rude and I was speaking to my son not the other people. I looked up what I told him later and I was right. They lady was wrong about it being made up and I’m a little bitter about it. She could of been more tactful on correcting me; or at least said while that is true In most cases these wolves don’t have any alphas in this pack. But Overall a good experience and the kiddos loved it.

Just visited the zoo for the electric safari and it was incredible! So many lights! My three small kids had a blast and it was a night to remember. They even honored a military discount which was incredible for us and 2 year olds and under are free! The carousel was only $2 a person and was a definite highlight!

I love the location. It's one of the smallest zoos I've ever visited but a lovely one. Like I mentioned, the location - its beautiful. It certainly offered a great view of Colorado Springs. The majority of the exhibits were clean and pleasant. Are the animals happy? Well, the team of interns, volunteers, keeper assistants and the animal keepers staff appeared to have positive interactions with the animals. I got there early to see them all busily attending to these wild creatures. They were handled with knowledge, love and care. Some of these animals were injured and could not be released back into their natural environments. So Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is now their home. It's worth visiting at least once. It can be completed in just a couple of hours of meandering through the exhibits. Also you can bring your own food and drink in. That was super helpful although I did end up eating at one of the smaller restaurants. I had pizza. It was super yummy.

The Minnesota Zoo is a wonderful place to visit, whether or not you're into animals. A vast collection of animals from all over the world keeps every trip interesting. The Tropics Trail and Grizzly Coast both immerse you in a different world than what we are used to, in opposite climates. There's plenty to learn and lots to do. Also a great place for little ones! Just make sure they know how to respect the animals.????
We LOVE Cheyenne Mountain Zoo & this time was probably our favorite ever! The weather was amazing, the fall colors were beautiful, the animals were active & the staff was on-hand to tell us all kinds of interesting things about the animals! It really is the most beautiful zoo we've ever been to!

I really loved coming here as a tourist from MD. I was so surprised to see that the animals were out even though it was a little colder than expected. My favorite exhibit were the giraffes and goats. They have $2 shuttles, $3 giraffe feeding, close up encounter with wallabies. It was great 10/10 experience. Will go again

This beautiful place never lets me down. It's not just the animals we enjoy, but the scenic views are hard to beat as well. The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any questions and discuss the animals. The restaurants are actually good. Wear your walking shoes because this is, after all, on a mountain and will provide a workout! I definitely recommend the annual family pass(other other passes) if you plan on coming to this zoo even a few times. It definitely gets crowded on the weekends and when school is out, so going on a autumn weekday may give you a more relaxing experience and the ability to see more animals.

I need more stars to rate this one. To be able to get up close and be able to touch animals that we've never been able to do before with amazing. There were several babies which was exciting. That habitats are some of the most natural-looking an attractive and spacious that we have seen and we have been to several zoos. Kudos to all the animals look very well cared for. We will come back often and are thinking of a membership.

Cheyenne Zoo is the cutest zoo I’ve visited in the U.S. It is a great place for toddlers since everything is safe and well protected. Also, you can have an excellent view of the city, the sky and the animals. I found lots of yummy things to eat for me and the kids, the cafeteria is clean with a nice set up. All the animals seemed to be relaxed and well taken care of. I loved the giraffes’ exhibit!
Visited the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the MN Zoo. Amazing display of over 5000 pumpkins. On sides of walkways, on platforms, hanging in trees, all very artfully arranged. The path wanders through the alphabet with each letter becoming a theme, complete with music! Multiple places to buy food & drink as well as souvenirs along the way. We had a 9:00 reservation but it was still quite busy. You walk (5-10 min) through a portion of the zoo to get to the display. A line formed outside the entrance, we waited about 15-20 min to enter. We were blessed with a beautiful evening 40°-50° with clear sky & no wind. Suggest layers, hats, scarves, mittens & boots if cooler temps or you chill easily. We spent 2 hours total on our visit. Paid $22 per person for tickets. A slight discount for attending at a later time.

Aside from the incredible zoolights display, the interactivity of this zoo is superior to any other we’ve visited. By focusing on making connections with threatened and endangered species, they successfully curate environmental stewardship. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is an exceptional zoological facility, and we’ll be visiting over and over again!

Honestly the best zoo I’ve ever been too… and that’s saying a lot because we go to a lot of zoos! The enclosures are large and well taken care of for the animals. We observed several zoo keepers setting up enrichment activities for the animals. We ate at the Grizzly Grill and the fries were delicious as was the Korean BBQ special of the day! There was so much that was enjoyable. Being able to feed and pet the giraffes was incredible! We all LOVED walking through the Wallaby’s! The Orangutan exhibit has tons of information about palm oil and how to help with the loss of their environments. Baby Omo the hippo was the cutest of my life, along with the baby lemurs you could see nearby! Honestly just an overall incredible experience! So grateful that there are good facilities like this providing these animals homes and sharing education about them. Zoos are so important for animal conservation!

What a fun experience for the Electric safari at the zoo. It was cold but still fun. The kiddos and family enjoyed themselves but, want to come back in the summer lol… we didn’t get a chance to see all the animals due to some areas were closed. The view was breathtaking in every sense of the word. The Christmas lights throughout the place was neat!!! The kiddos got a chance to feed the giraffes and birdies. They saw the moose and the lynx although it was dark they were excited. The price was good and the hot chocolate was on point for the chill night. The staff was very friendly and helpful giving explanations to any questions anyone had. You were able to still ride the ski lift they have. The restroom were clean. If you didn’t want to walk, climb the stairs he elevator was available. The penguin display was so neat and cool the kiddos loved it!!! We will be back.
