Nice playground & pool with plenty of room. Sneaky little dog park the length of and width of a baseball stadiums home run line along the far side. Batter up
Nice old spray park, good sized playground and a big open field. Excellent for active kids. Tough to get parking on the weekend, however still lots of space in the park even when you can't find parking.
It was nice an clean mind you their was a lot of people there also in small groups with good distancing had a great time
Quiet, accessible, bathrooms are usually clean and there's a big undercover area. Lots of green grass for picnics and games, willow trees for shade, a couple benches, and secret spots along the river to enjoy the cool water. …
Nice, cozy, quiet park to have a picnic. There are tables and chairs at the park for you to enjoy food as well.
This is our best park in New Westminster in my humble opinion. We must preserve it as city council is proposing changes a d not good ones. This park has it all and has lots of elements to it. It has all sports you can think of including 2 baseball diamonds at upper level and 1 at lower Hume. Lacrosse box, tennis courts, multi sport grass field, playground for all age levels, spray park is the best one in the city. The pool is closed for right now an dthis summer for repairs. There are trails between lower and upper Hume with a large dog park. Lower Hume has a barbecue area with a roof. The Brunette river is always a great cool down in the summer.
As dog parks go, the one at Hume is pretty awesome. Rather than a caged square area, the dog park follows the length of the park. It's a nice walk. Also, brunette creek is super pretty in Lower Hume.
Went to have lunch. Very lively park with lots of childrens sports camps going on. Big playground and waterpark for children. Also a small fenced dog park. Head to the lower part of the park for a more peaceful field area and baseball court. Parking from lower hume park is confusing and path to parking is quite tight for cars from both directions.
Really awesome dog park and field! Bring your boots ☺️
Love love love this place. Shaded play area , with separate spaces for younger and older kids. Also has a huge green space for playing football, has a spray park and a tennis court too
This us an AWESOME park and has loads if activities for little ones. It gets crowded real fast and I wish there were more such splash parks. Great job on the water park portion and parking was not bad at all. Wish they had better wash rooms with private change stations sin e its so kids centric.
Great little water park. Fun for all ages. Big trees surround the play area for parents to sit and watch in the shade. Small parking lot but street parking is available.
Great place to bring kids - nice playground, spray park, clean public washroom, lots of open space, big grass field, dog park
My dog's favorite park! Dog friendly, kids friendly. Water fountain available. Beautiful trees provide perfect shade in hot weather. A creek and hiking trail nearby. The lawn is well maintained. Friendly community. The waterpark is full of children every single day in summer time. Parking might be difficult, especially after work time.
The dog park is great; variety of terrain, lots of shade, and convenient water.
Our favourite place with one of the best splash parks and a great playground. We've never tried the swimming pool, but it looks good too. It gets really busy on sunny days though, but there is always enough space for everyone
Dog park off-leash area is big and lots of shade. Public washroom. Not very much parking. Big covered BBQ area. A tiny oasis off North Road. Super clean.
This park is gigantic! Large dog run that has multiple entrances/exits, and it's well equipped for almost any sport or activity you would want to do (bring your own equipment). Great for a picnic or other activities with your family - including the dog! Large grass field, tennis court, playground and more. Free 2 hour parking available.
Good place to go with family especially good for kids as there’s good swings. Swimming pool etc. Benches are in good distance and you can maintain social distancing. If you’re with family and going for picnic. There’s a covered area to sit together.beautiful nature walk from one area to other. If you going downside or coming up you can take a short or long nature walk . Up to you both are small but lush green. Parking shortages on weekends. But you get a spot anyway. Public washroom one upstairs one downstairs. Keep checking I will add more photos. These are just quick shots. When the spring is coming you can watch birds here from tiny Chikadee to large woodpecker who knows what’s in your luck . I saw chickadee, pileated woodpecker ,blue jay ,robins song sparrow, hummingbird and warbler. Seagulls and crows as they’re everywhere.
Neat old school park.Dog run ,washrooms that are heated, nice back side trail to Braid Station.Lotsa picnic tables.Huge park.Been here forever.Bring the kids, they will love it.Even the dogs smile.
Hume park is quite large, there is a park, ball diamonds, dog park and playground at the top of the hill, then another diamond and covered picnic area at the bottom. The bike route goes through this park and includes this hill.
Lovely park with a well-maintained playground and dog park, tennis courts, washrooms, baseball fields, pool, spray park, and lacrosse box. Great place to picnic and hang out!
Good place for BBQ, have wide ground to play volleyball, badminton and other ball games, just the washroom is not that hygienic..
Nice park, large space for gatherings.
Awesome park. Water park, playground and a pool! Plus a big open field and tenis courts. Great place for family gatherings and picnicks. So far my favorite park in new west so far :)
Came here with family and friends. Park is large with lots of space to play for young and old alike. There is a water park and a dry playground for the kids. Open grass fire LFA for those wanting some space to throw a ball or disc. Some trails to walk as well as a off leash dog park for your best friend to get some exercise. There are also tennis courts, bathrooms, picnic tables, benches, a lacrosse area, an outdoor pool (closed) and a baseball diamond. There are (at least) two parking lots on opposite ends of the park. Another nice feature were the abundance of trees one can use for shade on those hot, sunny days. Plenty of groups also brought their temporary shelters. Would recommend this place to a friend and will come back again.
This was a nice change up from our normal dog park. It has many entrances and exits and has grass and wood chip ground cover. There is only one area but two larger open areas are separated by a narrow walkway. The off-leash borders on a large grassy mostly-enclosed field that is *not* part of the off-leash park (I don't believe) but is a nice space to be close to. The walk from parking is on a hill and I believe there are steps at the first entrance we came to. Overall puppy seemed to enjoy his time here and so did we!
Shanti
Small park to enjoy a walk but various facilities available
There is a big Dog unleash area in the back, don't know how to put it separately from the map
A nice park, good facilities and a pool. Popular in the summer and fall.
Great park with both a playground and water park for kids. Lots of picnic tables and grassy areas with sun/ shade to choose from. Bathrooms were also very well kept.
Great place to picnic, walk or chill plus there is a while other part which is great for kids. Playground, spray-park and outdoor pool
Great park, for picnics and tossing the ball around. Amazing kid play ground.
Park its self was great, but need more river access for sure. Still had a great time crushing a couple beers there
Beautiful park with an outdoor pool, park, dog area, water park for those hot days and to top it off there is a whole other area where you can go to play baseball or just sit and enjoy the silence. Lately, people go to lower hume park (entrance off caribou rd) and there is a gentleman who goes and sets up his amp and mic and sings. He isn't half bad and it is about as close to what we are going to get for a concert for 2020.
Kids love it! The splash park gets sun all day long and has a great playground. Also, there is a washroom. Not so many parking spots though
A few large willows. Close to brunette River but it is hard to watch salmon run
Another great park to visit,it has everything…
Had a fare party at lower Hume park. Great place to get together
Very big park with small trails to explore. Once you reach the parking lot , if you continue walking, you will see some stairs on the right that would lead you to different ways to explore within the forest. Hopefully you will be able to find this turtle artwork (picture attached) like I do. Some of the side and main paths will lead you to the main playground area of the park. Have a lot of shades when I went there at around 2 to 3 pm, which is very nice in the summer. One trail has many MANY blackberries to pick! Keep it a secret otherwise they will be all gone haha!
Huge dog park with nice folks. One of the more laid back off leash dog areas I've found.
Fantastic park for families. Love the splash park.
Amazing park! It features tennis courts, a pool, a splash park, playground, baseball field, picnic fields, a some short hikes!
Great field and a large enclosed dog run at the end of the field. Playground. Ample parking. Lovely open setting among trees and a nice space for various groups to do their thing uninterrupted. Seems like a good community spot to enjoy some fresh air. I always appreciate these spaces that allow for an outing where the dogs can have a place to play.
Lots of mushy areas but a huge beautiful park with lots of features, venues and spaces. Dog park is great and large as well, lots of users all round with pathways to transit corridors and Braid station.
I brought my Timmy's coffee and had a relaxing break. It was great
My wife and I run or walk through Hume Park as we head to Burnaby Lake. It looks like there a little something for everyone...a dog park, huge field, water park area for kids, tennis courts and some covered areas.
Has both sunny and shaded area . Water park in summer is a hit.
Lower Hume is the secret entrance to lost creek and the Central Vally Greenway. A great way to travel into the city by bicycle. Careful crossing Columbia (automóviles think they are in a freeway.)
We looooooove this park's spray park. It is probably the best in the city that we've come across. The water table is perfect for my 16 month and there are a variety of different spray options. The playground itself looks great for older kids but not much for toddlers.
There’s something to do for everyone. Hume park has a spray park operating in the summer and playground right beside it. The dog park is in decent size and there’s a trail on the north side of the park that goes all the way to Burnaby lake. The facilities do need a little upgrade though, ie. tennis court, outdoor swimming pool, playground and spray park. There are 2 public washrooms nearby, one is by the spray park and the other one by the large lawn area on the north side. There are enough parking spaces around.
All in one park! Love it
This park has great equipment in really good shape. There is something for most children of different age ranges. A swing for children will physical difficulty is present as well. The neighbouring water park keeps the little ones busy on the warmer days, and has enough to keep their interest for a solid amount of time. If you want to play some more physically demanding activities, there is a large field for all types of sports also. My 3 year old had a blast last time we went, and met a few new children to interact with to add to the experience.
A good park to eat fried chicken in. If you DO eat fried chicken, make sure you have napkins. If not, they have bathrooms. One downside: the playground should be big enough to accommodate adults. Not that I goy stuck or anything.
We had a celebration of life there It was great to be outside and be able to be around people
Very quiet and relaxing. It feels like private park
Great open space cradled in western side of new westminister and almost to the entrance of coquitlam. Lots of space for kiddie to get fresh air and have fun.
Great family park in for young and old
Very nice community park. The upper level has a splash park and playground for the kids. Lots of benches for parents to sit and watch. Tennis courts and a lacrosse box for the adults. Also one of the largest dog runs I've seen anywhere! The lower area has picnic areas, parking, and washrooms. If there is no parking left you can access the upper area through the side streets, check on a map before you go.
Great place to have lunch and go for a bike ride through bruntee river to burnaby lake
Great place for families!! The pool is closed right now due to COVID19, but the spray park is open. Lots of open fields, picnic bench, trees for shades, a playground, and spray park. You can park for free on the street.
Nice park, all sorts of different spots. Found a stream.
love this park except the area around no-leash dog park which stinks a bit. The walk around the park, inside trails and playground are all good
Nice small park, shady areas and paths. Quiet area.
Great park that has it all. Waterpark, trees for shade, playground, soccer field, tennis courts. ????
Great place to get together with your family ???? and friends
One of the best and biggest and friendliest dog parks I've been too. Has a very large waterpark as well, and lots of space and shade.
Everything has been opened except the wading pool. All parts of the park are well-maintained.
It is nice park with beautiful view. Nice play area for children.
Nice park to bbq and have amenities for kids
Really nice path great for longer walks. Lots of wild life to see.
Great dog park, its huge and wraps around the upper park , definitely a good place to teach your dog off leash while still being enclosed
Great water park for the kids. Plenty of space for picnics and a decent playground. Parking is easy as well.
This park is amazing, I really love it and it's my dog who loves it the most. With multiple paths that lead down to the river shoreline and the shallow crystal clear waters that await you there, for a dog who loves to swim it's pure paradise. Especially during these hot days of summer when you can't really run the dog giving him the exercise he needs, this allows him to use abundant energy productively and stay comfortable and cool as he does.
Was good. Family oriented. Was good quite. Spread out like it should
Nice enclosed park with splash park. Lots of lush green grass area for kids to play around. There is a small tennis play area too.
The water park was so nice and cool perfect for a hot day. Love that you can enjoy a drink in the park as well
Fun park to hang with cool people
Its an awesome park. There are two parks like one is lower Hume park and the other with children playground and spray park is upper hume. Lower one has a gazibo and big area for outdoor celebrations or get togethers, there is no marked …
