This Zoo corresponds to the category of Zoo.
Nothing much. 2 bears only. Quite expensive in comparison to other mores actions area same like Whistler. Long q to come inside or out. Very suitable for kids and teens.
Beautiful story around how they sheltered these bears.
The Bears look healthy and happy, the presentations were very informative and interesting. Great way to see grizzlies without fearing for your life.
A lot of fun the birthday cake thing was great
Great bird show
Wonderful place to visit in Grouse Mountain in Vancouver. Learn about bears and their habitats.
Amazing. Saw them eating and they come so close. Definitely go see them.
Got to see bears! kids were super happy.
Most beautiful place with the most helpful people I always learn something new about the bears and the wildlife :) thanks for being so helpful &fun y'all!!
Sleeping bears not visible. Went in the fall. So probably does not count... was my experience though. The hike to it is quite nice and the views are amazing.
Very nice you get to see the bears up close. Just be sure to catch them before they go into hibernation.
Couldn't believe about big the bear was until up close. We were sitting in the coffee shop while enjoying the view.
Shows were great. Very crowded but was still spacious enough to get around. Hope you're not claustrophobic. They cram as many people as possible into the tram you take to the top.
We had a great time in Grouse Mountain. So many interesting things to do and see. SHOUT OUT TO ZACH S FOR RETRIEVING THE BACKPACK WE DROPPED FROM THE LIFT. ZACH …
Bears are so lovely here
Outstanding place where you get to see Grizzly bears from a very close distance while staying safe. They are magnificent.
Great time as always. Disappointed that we had to pay full price for off season. Most exhibits were closed last week
It’s awesome to watch the mighty grizzlies go about their daily business from such close proximity. It does concern me that the bears are at the end of the day trapped in an enclosure. However, the Grouse Mountain facility treats the bears very well. They only have the bear outdoors in the summer months.
This is the place to be close and personal with 2 Grizzly bears. The web site for mt. Grouse offers special bear breakfast early morning. Sign up way ahead of time to secure your unforgettable breakfast :-0
Very large exhibit. We'll maintained.
Pity it wasn't snowing
The bears seem very happy and healthy, love the extra enrichment activities included for them, such as feed scattering, no predictability, provisions of nest building materials, etc. Gives us tourists opportunities to see bears up close without dying, which is always a plus.
Top of the mountain they have two rescued bears. Be sure not to come during hibernation months!!
We went just right after the bears woke up from hibernation so we had the opportunity to see them and it was nice.
You can see they have a lot of space and the people that work there modify their habitat when needed. The bears are lovely and are aware of their situation. Its beautiful but its a little sad if you think it a lot, like any zoo.
Fantastic, I highly recommend this attraction!
Great place to get up close and personal with big bears. They seem happy enough in their larger enclosures which appear to mimic the local habitat well.
The bears are huge! Fortunate to have seen them.
Best grizzlies I've ever seen.
Fabulous. An OMG moment when we got to see both of them and they were enjoying the cool rainy weather. Breakfast was great to.We we're impressed.
Great difficult hike, no views if cloudy, good value for $15. If you hike up and take gondola down it’s $15. Also includes attractions at the top, and chair lift to the very top.
Grouse mountain resort is a great place to bring the family for a wonderful outdoor activities during both summer and winter time. The tram ride up and down the mountain is fun for all and the children get a grill from it. The staff are knowledgeable and super friendly to all its guest. The view of downtown Vancouver is fantastic..
Neat exhibit with a couple of Grizzly Bears.
Really cool. Try to go when they "feed" the bears. They do a little explanation about the bears. It's really good info about the 2 bears.
I never saw grizzlies in person and they look cute! You can get fairly close to them and still be safe!
Gorgeous views from the tram ;)!
Always fun to watch Grinder and Coola. Must watch when they're being fed by the Park Rangers.
That grizzlies are a great watch! A small reward for a strenuous grouse grind hike.
Family had a great time here. Friendly staff. The two grizzly bears are beautiful. The sky tram ride and bird shows were fun.
Really worth a visit when around Grouse Mountain. The habitat is interesting for both adults and young kids. The rangers do a great job and explain both the value of the habitat as such as well as the specific information about the two grizzlies that live there.
amazing place, luckily catch the last show in a year. those guys were so funny. my 9 years old was soooo happy
If it's your first tome coming to Grouse Mountain I definitely recommend trying breakfast with the bears. The group is small and it's before anyone else comes up the mountain. The breakfast itself is very good. Featuring a buffet style breakfast with smoked salmon, eggs, pastries, sausage and bacon etc. A wonderful way to start your day on Grouse Mountain.
Great view on Vancouver from Grouse mountain and the bears look happy and healthy!
The habitat for the bears is really nice, it seems to include stimulation as well as resembling their natural habitat. We saw the bears both up close and from the ski lift.
No shortage of views at the top of Grouse. One of those views are of a couple resident grizzly bears that meander around their habitat. It gives viewers a close up view of just how magnificently large and powerful bears can be. Be sure to check out the movie in the chalet to see how they came to be where they are today.
2 orphan bears super cute as they cronch on some snacks. Staff are super happy to talk about Coola and Grinder!
Went in early July. Wear shorts and T-shirt. A water bottle is a must. You'll get to fill it before starting the hike. There's a Starbucks at the base from where energy bars can be taken though they aren't super necessary. A light jacket will help once you reach the top and when you come back down at night. It's not needed during the grind. Regarding bears, they're hard to see. They're sleeping most of the time. I could see them only on my third visit. Good luck with that.
The bears are cute
Great to see and learn about the bears!
Excellent view over Vancouver and the Vancouver Bay. On the mountain you can hike or visit some shows e.g. lumberjacks.
So cool check out the lumber jack show it is so cool theres comedy and history behind it and I absolutely loved the hiking and the bears really amazing
Those 2 bears are so well behaved! Lots of room to roam around in and chill on rocks, in trees, beautiful spot!
Nice place to get to know Coola and Grinder, resident bears of the resort.
This was an adventurous experience! Climbed up the mountain and was really feeling accomplished for being to do it (because I don't really trek). Reaching the top felt good, and the attractions were great. Seeing the grizzly bear in its natural habitat was nice, and it looked peaceful and relaxed. A good place to go to unwind and enjoy the scenery and nature.
Bears are great , fairly lively in the early or late part of the day.
It's pretty cool being able to see grizzly bears that close of you.
It's pretty cool being able to see grizzly bears that close of you.
Neat to see two large and dangerous animals from up close
Did Snowshoe Grind trail this day. Great snowy weather! Very much fairy tale like... Great trail for beginners to Intermediate hikers.
A good range of attractions included in the price. Most of the staff were enthusiastic and informed though a few were less focused but never less than good mannered. The film show in the Theatre dragged a bit, until you get to the bit about the bears. The bird show is brilliant...funny, surprising and informative. The grizlies...awesome, everyone just starts smiling and even laughing.
The gondola ride to the peak and back, the lumber jack show, the birds in motion performance, and the scenery makes it worth spending for the tickets for your out of town guests. Personally, I hike the grouse grind trail and take the gondola down.
Great place for kids. I thought the enclosure was small for these bears, then again I do not know if they were rescued before coming here. I can only give this place one thumb up after trying to share my cheetos with what looked like "the friendly one".
Amazing! The bears have just woken up and are very docile which is entertaining to see.
Awesome experience. Best hike I've ever done. Cool grizzlies at the top
Stunning view. Pleasure path to walk with snow shooes
One our stops on the cable car.
Lots to do and see here. The views are amazing and the does are entertaining and informative.
It was fun for kids to see 2 ???? Bear together.
Loved every minute...snoeshoeing, the educational tour...everything. great day!
Visited it in summer. There are several shows there: birds show, acrobatic show, bit longer walk through the nature with a guide and a small guided talk near grizzly bears in a reservation. There is also a a café near bears and a restaurant on the upper station if gondola. It was beautiful, even though too expensive for us - 60 cad just a daily entrance including lift to the upper point, where I couldn't go because my son was under 1 meter.
Guide provides interesting facts and history while bear watching.
Finally took an opportunity to be a tourist up there. I loved it! The bears seem to be treated respectfully, the logging show is hilarious, and the raptor show is interesting and informative
Bears are hibernating inside
It is a good tourist attraction and great for hiking. There are Lumberjack Shows 3 times a day. If you visit I highly suggest you stick around to watch it. There are bears that you could look at and take pictures of. There is snow in June but it is warm in August.
Going to Grouse Mountain was a great experience. I'm afraid of heights but the gondola was so smooth and quick! The Grizzly Bear Habitat was lovely and we happened to go on their bear-thday so it was extra special. Worth the trip!
Love seeing the rescued bears up close and personal! Always a highlight of our visit! ???????? Make sure you visit when they are not hibernating!
Experience may vary depending on how close the bears decide to come - we had an absolutely amazing time, with both of them coming very close to the fence, hanging out by the people for a long time and generally being very curious.
Kicking horse mountain had a way better reserve. These bears looked sedated and were fed a kibble looking like dog food to keep them in view I assume. We also walked around the whole inclosure in under 10 minutes.
What a treat to see these bears up so close.
Very cute bears, up close and personal and loved the bear talk
Attended at the perfect time! During the summer Grinder and Coola have acres of land so can be difficult to find (or see) however the enclosure gets smaller just before their winter sleep so couldn't miss them! There was a guide telling us so much information and answering questions whilst watching the bears wonder around! Just beautiful!
Great place to find two orphaned bears rescued and given a protected habitat. The bears are a delight to watch. If you want to ensure you get a glimpse of the bears, try coming after they wake up in the morning (generally around 8-9 or so). But then, they're like us afterall, and might have a lazy day. They hibernate around November and tend sleep more before going into hibernation. So, you might want to time your visit accordingly. The guide was kind, informative, patient, and helpful. He answered all questions, no matter how silly. Kids will absolutely love it. And please, please, I request you not to feed them or startle them in any way. Just enjoy their magnificence in silence. (During my visit, I noticed one of the bears chewing on a toothpaste tube lying around. That's so irresponsible of visitors. Please don't be that guy.)
Amazing close up of the bears!!
Fabulous place to visit, go on cable chair's awesome viewing.. Even lumberjack show is very entertaining ????
Saw one sleepy boy. Enclosure looked very well maintained and expansive. I felt other bears would be jealous of being so well looked after.
These bears are huge and were hugging each other when we were there...so cute.
The closest place to DT Vancouver to see real bears. Two bears are lovely and lazy during summer times. They have a huge place to walk around. They are hibernating during winter time.
We have so much fun there and miss the place Grouse Mountain so much ......
So sad. Wish we had done our research before hand. We found this place super last minute. Paid to up to the top which isnt bad at all but we missed all the shows. It has wonderful views from the top. And "Da Bear" were up and about.
The bears were out. One was grazing close to us and the other was sun bathing. Electric fence between you and them so you feel safe and they look cute instead of scary.
We were 10' from the bears. The crowds were watching the Lumberjack show and there were 5-10 people watching the bears. They are magnificent.
Rating: 4/5 How much time should you spend here: ~2 hrs Pricing: Cheaper for Locals, around $50 for an adult Who to bring here/Suitable for: Family and friends Warnings/Precautions: A lot of wildlife Additional features: · A Grizzly Bear Habitat · Chairlift · Gondola · World Famous Lumberjack Show · Amazing Bird Feeding Demonstration Cons: · Expensive Admission · Expensive Food · Really Hot in the Summer Parking Situation: Paid Parking is available on-site
Fantastic! We loved how close you can get to Bears
We stopped at Grouse Mountain and rode the tram. It was a great place.
Very interesting
Beautiful park, nice experience.
I enjoyed the ranger talk while watching the bears forage. Lots of interesting info about bears and how the park cares for them.
Even though the habitat itself seems nice to us hunans, the bears looked rather sad & depressed. Maybe this was due to the gloomy weather.
Two HUGE grizzly bears. Grinder and Coola. Went there during the Nature Talk or something. So the Bears were really close to the fences. One of them played in the water. Never seen a bear this huge and this close. Went back there later around 6pm but the bears were tucked in between the trees pretty far from the fences.
The Lumber Jack show is worth tó see, the bears are amazing. The drind track is challenging a bit, you have tó be honest with your strenght.
Grouse Mountain was a nice place to spend the afternoon. It’s definitely a touristy place and more of a family vibe here. We enjoyed being able to walk around and there are plenty of activities (additional cost for a lot of them) to do. It was a very foggy day but the chairlift was so magical and mystical. If you go with children, the bear habitat and the lumberjack show were good activities!
Super cool! Loved seeing the bears - looks like they have good space.to roam
It was AWESOME to see the Grizzly bears up close in safety while they enjoy their normal habitat!
Grinder and Coola are both male orphans who were found around the same time. Rumors are the park had a coyote back then, Grinder and Coola use to play with the coyote. Come early to see them sleepy stumble around while eating breakfast.
Loved seeing the orphaned Grizzly Bears and enthusiastic ranger talk. It's great that they try to keep them as natural as possible, even hibernating in winter.
Wonderful experience even when it is pouring rain. Cool experience seeing the drizzly bears and the lumberjack show!
Great place must visit to see Grizzlies up close????
A few kilometers from downtown Vancouver, you can already experience a touch of the wild...they do beautiful shows as well, very entertaining for all walks of life..
If you want to get up close and personal with a Grizzly Bear, this is the place to be. Grinder and Coola are very accommodating... Keep in mind the bears go into hibernation during winter months. These bears are getting a little older now, so if you haven't seen them be sure to before they pass on...I can't 8magine Grouse being able to keep more bears after this...
We love Grouse Mountain. There's always lots to do, even if you're not into skiing/snowboarding. Sunsets from the mountain are stunning.
Highland view to discover Vancouver good restaurant sky helicopter and zipline experience.
Great views of the bears
It is always fun to see the two bears. This time it was right after hibernation period.
Grinder and Cooler rule!! The bird show is awesome and concise. Grind is awesome.
Awesome experience and you can get some amazing pictures
Really cool experience. I worry a bit that the habitat might be a bit small for them. Awesome tour guilds. The ride up on the tram is a bit nerve racking if you don’t like hightail. Still would recommend.
It’s not easy to see a bear but it worth it. They are so beautiful! A must see if you haven’t met bears before. And if you have met too.
If you go to the mountain I recommend that you climb it up and down the cable car, so you can appreciate the nature of both ways.
We hiked quickly past the grizzly enclosure onto the Crown Mountain.path. We started on the Grouse Grind and finished on the top of Crown Mountain.????. Re Gregorie Wright guided tours. Elevation gain 2100 meters over 20 kilometres. 7 hours both ways. One stop 15 minutes.. zoom zoom zoom.????
According to person here, last year grizzly bears went into sleep and they shut the door on 12/1. But they started sleeping from 11/15 or so. They are 19 years old, and they came here when they were cubs. Big one weigh around 1060 pounds and smaller one 900 something. The day was nice when we visited so we could see grizzly bear outside under the sun trying to eat some grass(?) and just hanging around. It was very nice.
The view and two orphaned grizzly bears are thrilling to see.
Very cool. The bears dont seem to mind the crowds and will find their own hidden areas to take their afternoon naps. The staff are very knowledgeable and more than willing to give out informatoon for any question you have
What a beautiful view on Grouse!
We loved visiting the grizzly bears. It was great to be so close to the bears. They were eating pumpkins when we were visiting which was fun to watch!
The bears are amazing and it’s a fun and scenic trip up the mountain. Definitely worth it if you are in the area.
Up close and personal with the bear couple !! And yes they are not shy.. they will show up and even show their calm as well as wilder side when time comes.. it's a very good experience to see this animal in its own habitat..
How docil they are on their habitat. Love it
The bears are fun! If you're up Grouse mountain, you should take the time to "meet" them! They're …
It's a mountain, you climb it (actuall climbing not using the gandola to go up there) you reach the top, you feel awesome.
Saw a lovely pair of Grizzlies.
Visited the top ot the mountain with our son and his wife on our first trip to Vancouver. Did not expect to see a zoo here and we had to have a picture with our friend. There are also nice sculptures. But you also have to look at the city from the top of the mountain.
Cutest rescue bear ????
Great place, very informative guides.
Saw the bears very close (through a bit of a small fence). Amazing to see!
Bring the kids or a date cause you get to walk around in nature also, you get food with a spectacular view
Very nice park! Grizzlies are beautiful and the staff is super friendly
Very cool. Bears were napping when we first arrived but were up wandering around late afternoon.
Beautiful view from the mountain. You can choose to trek, will take about 1 hr. Lovely view from top. Bird watching and spotting grizzly bears. Take enough water while trekking.
Lovely seeing the bears as we didn't see any out in the wild, they're very cared for
You can't go wrong vi visiting this place, the only down side is how expensive it is but if you a tourist visiting Vancouver you have to come here and spend the almost 60 CAD admission ticket.
I love to visit this mountain! I have the annual passes just because each season is a new atmosphere. You must visit it!
Great place to visit. Super cool to see the bears up that close.
Too many lines: line for gondola (and if you are with small kids - its a really bad experience, when people are pushing their way to gondola), regular lines to lifts, crowded paid parking. There are better resorts, than this.
Got within 10 feet of the Bears on our last trip, I sure wouldn't want to meet one in the wild!
Really cool to see 2 grizzly bears ???? on top of Grouse Mountain. This habitat has been here for 20 years. There seems to be a good amount of space for them. We were able to talk with the bear expert and learned all about the bears. I didn’t know there were bears ???? on top of the mountain ⛰ so it’s really neat to see them. The bears ???? have been in captivity for so long that they will live out their lives here. This habitat is on the top of Grouse Mountain ⛰ so there are washroom facilities available here and other things to do here.
It was cool. We visited in the early evening and the bears were very active. One of them even put on a bit of a show during bath time.
Two poor Grizzly bears have been confined in a relatively-small fenced area, enclosed with electrified metal fences! Lots of people had gathered to watch the bears. It is still hard to judge whether those two poor bears are more dangerous and considered threats to other creatures, or humans who have done so bad to the environment, have put the species of many many animals in danger of extinction, have destroyed the forests and the natural habitats of many innocent creatures, polluted the air, the mother nature and the landscapes and whose damages continue on a large scale! :(
I enjoyed every bit of time spent up there in the mountains. It's winter so I couldn't see the Grizzlies because they're hibernating. Anyone who is out to see the Bears should go at another time of the year. The tramp ride was also smooth, except that it was much slower on our way down due to wind gusts. As such they stopped taking people up the hill and people were practically turned back, so you might want to check what the wind forecasts says before heading down there.
Amazing experience for those who haven't had the privilege of viewing Ursus arctos up close. Friendly staff were knowledgeable and the bears were stunning.
Ziplining is well worth the money. Eye of the Wind is a great view. Saw both grizzlies and a barn owl. Food was good but super expensive. Bring water, a jacket, and proper shoes. Don't plan to take the skytram down at rush hour, it's over an hour long line.
Rewarding spot after the hike, it can get very crowded on the weekends.
It was nice to see the orphaned bears in their huge well-maintained enclosure and they were a hit with kids of all ages. ????????
Incredible big Bear.Sometimes you need to wait for them to come out
I love those bears! They are the cutest thing on this hill
Great opportunity for hiking, Sundays are busy with some hiking races Try to have your own food , food is $$$ There some eagle and owl show if you can catch , bear show , Zip lines are great and safe
Best family day in a long time and even the Grizzly Bear's put on a show. From the lumberjack competition to the Raptor in flight skills demonstration it was fun. Down side. Food is not the best. More work to be done. Pack your own lunch.
You can get within inches of these guys and only a few people have ever been eaten. Probably better than any zoo if you want to see bears.
Good place to see Grizzly Bear before snow season
Our party of three loved the Grouse Mountain experience. The scenery was spectacular, enjoyed the gondola ride to the top, and all three shows were great!
These bears are so cute and always playful. We loved this place.
Great enclosure on the top of the mountain for the two rescue grizzlies. The grizzlies look healthy, and are huge, and there's ample space to view them unobstructed.
We had great time
Very lucky to have been here early enough to watch the Ranger feed and weight Coola and Grinder! Beautiful bears ❤️. Get there early and watch Grinder boss Coola around. At 10am there is a info session on the bears and they love hanging around with their handler so you see them a lot during this time!
Hands down a fantastic experience ! And kudos to Grouse Mountain for saving these 2 bears !
Fantastic! Bears were active and playing with each other. Enclosure is impressive and the staff are very knowledgeable.
Great looking place. Well kept, friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Bears were very tired of course but really cute. Overall great experience
Great way to see some grizzlies up close!
This is for the habitat which is part of the larger tourist facility at the top of the mountain. Unfortunately the two bears there could not be rehabilitated back to the wild so they had to be confined to some sort of facility like this. Some may feel that it's sort of like being in a zoo but the bears have a range to wander and don't have to come out where the tourists can see them. However they do come out for feeding time and it was great for us to see them as we had seen black bears in the wild in Alaska but not close up and never seen a grizzly. They have a nearby habitat where they go into for hibernation. It was a chance to see and learn about these animals.
The trip is worth it. Good to see the peakest of Vancouver. Just dont like paid parking. Expect people with cars and in a place where it is always busy and crowded, parking should be free especially if the admissions is as high as 59 dollars per person.
Great place to go! Grizzly bears are the best. You have to see them as they so huge and healthy! Theres also a lumberjack show and a Raptor's bird in motion show. Very good value as you can spend the whole day there.
Super fun spot to go see the Grizzlies up close and personal.
Great tourist attraction when visiting Grous Mountain during the summer. The Grizzlys look well taken care of. A really cool experience to get up close to such an amazing animal!
We were face to face with two huge grizzly bears that were being fed watermelon to lead them to weigh scales. We lucked out and followed them the whole way. FYI: we were separated from the bears with an electric fence and other barriers. One of our favourite parts up at the top of Grouse Mountain
We were lucky to see the bear. The place is well maintained and good amount of security is also there. The playing area of the twins are very large. Will definitely recommend to all of my friends and others.
A great day out for the family (of all ages). Genuinely pleasant fun, spectacular scenery (view of Vancouver and port), and there is still a veneer of Canadian politeness and good manners that lubricates the whole operation. It's not the opera or Shakespeare, but definitely worth doing. I suppose it's a bit 'touristy' but there's only so much hiking through mosquito ridden swamps at the base of glaciers that a body can take!
Always a hit with my son! Great place to take kids to. So much to do and so many shows all year around!
Wonderful! If you have never seen a grizzly bear, you will definitely enjoy this experience. Take note...they let the bears do their own thing and don't force them to come out...do if it's not feeding time, you may or may not see them. We …
Very cool to see grizzly bears so close
Beautiful animals, well taken care of. We enjoyed the lumberjack and the bird shows. They have a nice adventure park for the kids that enjoy zip lining and climbing.
Finally able to see 2 Grizzly bears after a long struggle.
So close to Vancouver with Avery good bus system. Walked in sneakers in snow for 15 minutes from gondola that week took up the mountain. Get there early before it's too crowded. Bears just recently got up from hibernation. Well worth it.
Good place to see bear!
It is so amazing when you listen to the story of these to gigantic grizzlies. Thanks to the informative staffs.
Bears had lots of space to roam, and areas where they could be away from people. They looked very happy and well-nourished.
Cool to see a live bear in its semi natural habitat.
very beautiful
My kids loved watching the bears, and the information about them was super interesting. The staff very patiently answered all my 4 year olds question.
This is not a zoo, it is a ski hill with a great deal of summer options as far as entertainment goes. They have a birds of prey demonstration, zip line tours, mountian biking, and a giant windmill. Not to mention a theater and 3 dining options, almost forgot they also have a shop that sells clothes and ski wear on top of the mountian. I suggest booking a dinner in the fine dinning restaurant because then the skyride or tram/gondola is free. They also have all the standard ski hill activities as well as snowshoe trails and tours. They even have after school and weekend camps or lessons for teenagers that live nearby. Winter or summer there is lots other than just a couple of rescued bears. Remeber bears hibernate all winter long.
Mountain refuge for endangered wildlife sanctuary where endangered animals can explore and play, they are safe and secure. Research, education and conservation center on the mountain. The Refuge also offers leading-edge interpretative programs that make learning about nature fun and fascinating - and it’s all included in Mountain Admission Ticket.
Beautiful intense hike. The Grizzly enclosure is beautiful. Saw 2 big bears.
Great place to visit. Beavertails is awesome wish we had it in town.
Good nature talks with Grinder and Coola
It's always a great time roaming around the park especially after a long gruesome grouse grind hike. The Bears were very playful and the staff who was around the habitat was very informative as well. Managed to squeeze these two pics while up there as well.
No better way to spend the day than up at Grouse Mountain! Check out the grizzles, the lumberjack show, the treetop playground.
Grouse Mountain is one of the best choice for snowboarding, if you are staying in Vancouver and you want to skiing, ice skating, trail and so, you must visit this place. You can go easily by normal bus from downtown.
Beautiful panoramic views of Vancouver. Grizzlies at play.
Bears have lots of room to roam while letting you get close.
Beautiful animals, well taken care of. We enjoyed the lumberjack and the bird shows. They have a nice adventure park for the kids that enjoy zip lining and climbing.
Super cute and amazing animals to watch. They're in a safe and natural habitat which it makes it more special to see. Recomend it for families.
Hiked up the BCMC trail to grouse mountain and the views up here are amazing! There also a few shows you can enjoy up here including the lumberjack show and bird show! Also 2 grizzly bears are seen playing with each other which made my day!
Great place to see rescued Grizzlies up close!
Beautiful views of the city and the ocean. Fun ride up there the only thing is they like to really pack the people in the gondola. Once your up there there is a limited amount of things to do if your not paying extra for anything. Lots of hiking trails. Fairly good lumberjack show and an extra chair lift up the mountain.
I was reluctant to support animals in captivity but was lucky to catch the information session. Amazing animals and amazing story, definitely worth the visit.
The bears are cute and barely a short walk from the chalet.
We loved it! They are so adorable, huge and so much fun to watch!
So glad to see them!
The Grizzly bears Coola & Grinder are generally out & about during the summer & they're definitely not camera shy. They usually hang out by the upper or lower pond during the day & are very accessible & easy to see. I always check them out before or after my hike.
To see a grizzly bear was the best thing. They are beautiful animals, Grinder and Coola you can see 2 very different personalities, Grinder is such a cheeky playful bear, and Coola a bit more cool and collected posing for the camera.
The bears are small, and sometimes it's hard to see them.
Grizzly bears Grinder and Coola are up at the top of Grouse Mountain. They have a decent habitat and seem relatively happy. There's a video about how they came to be up at Grouse shown in the Chalet as they were both rescued from the wild. There's a small interpretive centre and the bears come up really close to the fence. Beautiful animals and while I wish they were free and roaming, I understand why they are here. Rare you'll get a chance to see grizzlies from such close range.
The whole experience from the team up to the team down exceeded my expectations. So much to see and do, so beautiful in every direction, great facility, great patio, food, beer etc. Could spend a while day.
Great place to see some real Brown Bears ("Grizzly") up close. There are also excellent talks from park rangers about the bears and how they came to live in this refuge. Also check out the birds of prey and lumberjack shows nearby.
You can see the bears from up close while you are able to learn all about their habits in captivity. They are astoundingly cute and Grouse keeps them in pretty good shape. The are definitely the stars of the mountain.
Our favorite part of the mountain visit!! Very knowledgeable staff!
I love these grizzlies. Their well taken care of, not like a zoo. Try to visit on a weekday if you can, or get here early in the morning. :)
Great place to look at Grizzly bears. The observation decks are spacious and with a nice clear view of the ground where the bears hang out. It is a lot much fun watching them play in the water and surfing around the area.
The Grizzly bear habit is one of the nicest exhibits up on the Mountain. Rare sightings of the bears do occur, but do remember they do hibernate during the winter so be sure to come check it out during spring/summer/fall. There are various vantage points to see the bears around, so walk around the area, and you may get lucky!
Nature beauty is very fine.To go up and down through rope way is interesting.Entertainment programmes are very interesting.People from diffrent countries reach there.
Beautiful mountain just outside the city. I took the free shuttle bus from Canada Place. The cable car ride was awesome and at the top even though some areas were closed we managed to see the famous grizzly bears. The theatre presentation was great and an assistant explained the films and showed us a claw from one of the bears. It's an amazing place.
Nice place to learn a bit more about grizzly Bears and other kind of birds ! Great view from Vancouver ! You can hike up to the top and then take the gondola to go back down ( $10) if you not feel like hiking up you can just purchase a day pass, wich is $56 for the day. If you are a resident ($49)
Awesome! Very cool to see bears, and the volunteers and setting on grouse mountain are all awesome!
The grizzlies are so cute & I like all the complementary activities at the top of the mountain. The person telling us about the bears were very informative & the information was interesting! When you're at the top of the mountain, would definitely recommend seeing the bears.. I mean, when else are you going to get to see bears & feel safe?
Don't skip this to save a little walking once you get to the top of Grouse Mountain! One bear came right near the fence to pose for photos. Park ranger standing nearby patiently answered my questions about the bears.
Seeing these two beautiful animals up close is an amazing experience and one that most people would love. The bear rehabilitation center located on popular Grouse Mountain and requiring a gondola ride up is one of Vancouver's most visited attractions. Highly recommended.
This place is fantastic, plenty to see and do all day.
Great experience.... Bear watching and the bird & lumbar shows.
This is a great day out for everyone. Grouse puts on a number of different shows ranging from comedic lumberjack shows to birds of prey shows. It was great to see the two bears, Coola and Grinder making full use of the sanctuary built for them
This was the favourite part of our trip to Grouse Mountain. We had a long time viewing the animals and had all our questions answered.
Sooo cool, the bears almost seem to want you to take pics with them, but turn off your flash.
If you like a challenge I would recommend climbing up the grind to the top of grouse mountain. Once at the top you have access to all the amenities and just need to pay $15 for the gondola down.
Cool and fun definitely a place to check while you are up in the mountains
What an experience to see these bears in their natural surroundings and getting a chance to witness the beauty and diversity of nature. Highly recommend for anyone who wishes to see bears up close having a fun time.
It was nice to know that they take care about the wild life. The bears don't live in the nature like in Banff. Very nice area. Friendly staff around.
Great attraction, well worth the price (it's not cheap though!). Great views. Don't miss the Birds of Prey show and definitely don't miss the lumberjack show - the cheesiest but most entertaining thing I've seen in years - very funny great for kids and adults alike. Cafe is OK, not great, very crowded - better off taking your own picnic.
This has to be one of the very best places to visit in Vancouver!! I could spend all day watching the bears! You can get so close, but are completely safe. The staff are very friendly and happy to share information and stories about Coola and Grinda. Loved this experience!
Super cool to get so close to sick amazing, powerful and majestic animals. I could have hung out with them all day. Worth the trip to the top, they aren't shy, they're out during the day and seem to enjoy the attention.
The grizzlies were good to us today, they posed well
A nice ride up the mountain on the gondola to be greeted by cool wind and swirling fog. Then a fantastic experience seeing Grinder and Coola and hearing their story. So many other things to do up there but unfortunately our time was limited. Next time in Vancouver we will make sure to spend more time up on Grouse Mountain.
Really cute and they don't look unhappy or mistreated at all
First time to see Grizzlies up close and personal
Lots to see and do. The zip lining was a ton of fun. The lumberjack show was very entertaining. And you absolutely have to see the grizzly bears.
The bears were really cute. They sat on their hind legs like Teddy bears and ate grass. There's plenty of space to take pictures. If you're already on top of the mountain, definitely worth taking a look.
Loved seeing the home of these 2 rescued brown bears Never happy to see wild animals on show however the raptor man explained these were captive bred birds used in falconry and he was very knowledgeable... Enjoyed his show
Awesome and the bears are so majestic!
Nice day out, grizzly bear ,lumberjack and bird fly over is fantastic.
Love getting up close and personal with Grinder and Coola!
Beautiful bears when they came out, very good photo opportunities. Long wait to get the tram back down was the only negative.
Amazing large grizzlies
Bears habitat is very well done. They have great care
Beautiful place with various shows to watch. The only thing I didn't like is that there wasn't any posting of what times the shows where actually supposed to run. The only place we found the times was at the chair lift, which you had to walk a little way out of the way to get to it. It would have been nice to have signs at each show location as to when the next show time was.
The whole mountaintop was nice, the bears themselves weren’t out and about so we didn’t actually see them, but there was plenty else to see and the lumberjack show was highly entertaining, definitely recommend. Choice of food is limited at the top.
This was really a neat experience being able to be so close to a bear!
Amazing experience seeing the bears from a close distance
Grizzly bears in an enclosure. Unless you took the athletic Grouse Grind up to here, you will have to pay to get this high up the mountain. Prices are fair, and as we were living in Vancouver, we would get annual passes so we could bring guests.
The two bears are orphans found lost without their mothers. I guess this is better than leaving them out alone in the wild. As for the space, it's pretty big, with a big den for them to stay dorment during the winter. The space also has a big pond, covered with big trees and small plants.
Exellent day trip to see the the bears coming out of hibernation before they were released into their 5 acre pen for spring .....beautiful scenery from the top of the mountain over vancouver Exellent coffee shop ....although for 3adults 1 …
So much fun to see the bears. Go early in the morning to catch them eating before they nap mid-day.
They are so adorable ????????
AMAZING!!!!! I was lucky enough to see both bears up close and it was phenomenal. They are mesmerising.
My son loved the show, view was speechless, Nature was clean and staff was very friendly
Once at the top enjoy the view of the city. And walk of the strain of the grouse grind hike.
So much info given and bears look amazing
I was lucky to see them. There were two bears walking around, keeping eyes on the public; and more the weather was fabulous.
They were cute and if you hike to the top its free
Grouse Mountain continues to offer must-see, must-do experiences that no visitor to or resident of Vancouver should miss.
Loved just driving up there. Riding Cable car, chairlift, watching the bears, enjoyed the Lumberjack show very entertaining. Great views over Vancouver. Worth the trip.
It capped off an amazing visit to Vancouver. The skyride was smooth and fast. The views are the best around. The staff have a good sense of humor.
It is a great place to get close to bears. They are orphan bears that have been given a nice place to live. Depending on the time of the year they might be hibernating so if you want to see them you need to avoid Winter.
Love them. Check out the live dencam to see them hibernating.
Great idea and well presenred by the staff on the glacier, however the manager was the rudest person I met in the whole of Canada. We were booked for a 1pm tour according to the tickets downloaded from THEIR website, we stood around until 1.15 then when we asked What was going on no-one could answer. This so called manager came over looked at the tickets and said there is no 1pm tour!!!!!........ no apology......nothing. then when i said they are your tickets she snapped and said " IF YOU'LL LET ME SPEAK " you can go on the next tour. What an obnoxious woman, spoilt the whole expreience and made me wish i had never booked it. On reflection (with a sour taste in my mouth) it was overpriced for what it was and the glass observatory they take you too aint that much either. If anyone reads this from the resort, get rid of that vile woman she is destroying your business, just look how she made me feel to write this 4 days after my trip there. I would happily discuss this experience with you too.
Nice ride with the cabin elevator to halfway the mountain. Lumberjack show is very nice, funny and courageous. Orphan bears brought up here live in big habitat, to see from up close. Beautiful. Chairelevator brings you to the top of the mountain for a nice view over Vancouver and to visit a turbine. All together we spent almost 3,5hrs here, including slow (!) ride with both elevators.
It was foggy and cool yesterday when we were there. Cool enough that the bears were quite active. They were in an easy to see area until they went to take naps on the hill around 3pm. The rangers expected them to nap only about a half an hour.
Amazing trip loved seeing the bears and the birds in flight. Spent 6 hours enjoying grouse mountain and 4 hours trying to get off the damn mountain because they are ill equipped to deal with power issues( apparently a car accident caused power to be shut down to the mountain) and the sky tram wasn't running right.
This is a must see if you make it up to the top of the mountain.
Take the time to watch the movie in the main lodge...it explains the bears in much greater detail. Several movies are on a loop so allow an hour to see all of them
Amazing views. Lumberjack show cheesy but entertaining and impressive. The bears were incredible. Ziplining is a pass though if its windy.
2 large male grizzlies. We got really close to them. Kids loved it.
Love seeing the beautiful grizzlies. Been visiting them since 2006, now they are 19 years old and considered senior citizens. Moving a little slower but still playing in the ponds with sticks!
Amazing. It's impossible go to Grouse Mountain and no visiting grizzly bear
Beautiful! The bears were fantastic to watch. The guides were very knowledgeable.
It was an amazing experience at Grouse Mountain. The gandola ride was great and then we had an amazing bird in motion show. It was a different experience. We saw Grizzly bears thereafter. After that we had an amazing lumberjack show. It was an adventurous show. They have various food shops on the mountain. Most of the stores have vegan options. Rest room a are also available on the mountain. Pre book online to get better discount.
So many activities to do and very organized. Do not miss the zipline!
Good place to visit and ski
Very cool bear habitat. If you're lucky to see the bears. If not, you typically have to hang around. According to the rangers, they will move around after their nap.
Unbelievable! Spectacular! There are no words to describe the opportunity to see these majestic giants!
Really cool to see the Bears in their habitats. Staff are super friendly!
Enjoyed walking around and seeing the Rescued Grizzleys
Always love coming to Grouse but it's a shame they treated their loyal members so badly over Covid. The poor customer service really impacts how I feel about our membership... so unfortunate.
Just loved this place at Grouse mountain. The 2 bears were around and there was some show being shot so they were being given food which was hidden on trees so they were finding it and eating.
What a fabulous habitat for these amazing bears to be placed. plenty of room to roam about in, well cared for and the chance to view at close quarters is an opportunity not to be missed.
Lovely day, lumberjack show was good, great views & we saw the 2 bears.
Cable car, chairlift, lumberjack show and 2 wonderful bears. Superb scenery and a free shuttle bus from downtown or travel with the locals on the sea bus and the public bus. Great value.
Great experience - the staff tells you about grizzly behaviour as you're watching them hang out/play. You can see the bears fairly closely - at least as closely as I'd want to get to a grizzly! If you're at grouse - definitely check it out!
Amazing visit ! Don’t miss it
This is an amazing place and the grizzly bears are so close and well looked after.
Staff really friendly great place to zipline also best experience closed up with the bear
Hit or miss if the two bears decide to be around but when they are, it is truly amazing. They come very close to fence to check their visitors out
Great outdoors experience for the whole family.
The bears were very active the day we were there, which meant we got to see them quite close. Good viewing area
There is a chalet, a bit above ground where you can watch the bears.
Two bears bored as fudge with gawking humans. ????
The gondola ride up and down is an exhilarating experience. The bewrs were beautiful. Good restaurant. Plenty of activities to engage in.
Wonderful views of the mountain.
Walked up the BCMC trail up which was very hard, took about 1 3/4 hours but worth it for the views once at the top. Make sure to take your own food and water as its expensive and pretty ordinary food at the top. The bears are awesome and the bird show was also great.
Bears were super cool. Come right up to the fence and sniff you.
After a challenging hike we were lucky enough to see both Bears up close! Impressive animals, humbling experience to see them so close up. The reason why they are kept here is because they were found as cubs without a Mum, and had to be cared for. Would be dangerous to release them as they have grown accustomed to humans feeding them...
In the morning time is the best to watching them daily activities
We were really lucky the bears came out of hibernation the day we visited. It was amazing to be so close to these wonderful creatures.
Kind of hard to find the bears at first but it's worth it
Seeing a beautiful bear so very close was simply fantastic. There was a rangers talk too which was very interesting. I just wanted to stand and watch these magnificent animals. There are other free attractions on Grouse Mountains too. A great place.
Not much to see.. you just go over the top in a chair lift. Only slim chance of seeing bears.
Great to see the bears, and the size chart next to their enclosure to be able to get a perspective of size- kids were amazed!
Very cool. Enormous and a beautiful habitat.
Bear was probably on drugs or something. Very unresponsive and lazy dude ????
2 male grizzlies living here; Koola and Grinder. We arrived early enough to catch them eat and got a great view up close. Later on enjoyed a really informative ranger talk. A good experience for all ages young and old.
Watch the bears cool down in the pond. Also feeding time was amazing to see.
Amazing close up views of bears in an environment that is as close as you can get to natural
Best to go on a sunny, cloudless day so you can see Vancouver from the top. Be prepared to pay extra for parking. Prices are expensive, about $200 for a family of 4 with 2 younger teenagers. The best part was the free chairlift at the top and the bear enclosure. Zip lines and going to the windmill tower cost extra. I guess another way to nickle and dime tourists.
Big fan of the lumber jack show and the Birds in Motion show. You can tell they care about the environment and animals there. The hot chocolate was a little expensive at 5 bucks for the powdered stuff but it hit the stop on a cool day up the mountain.
Beautiful, and amazing, don't forger the free shuttle on Canadá place to get There
A great place to see Vancouver from the top. Zip lining is GREAT! But there’s lots of walking. There are lots and lots of activities to try. I would definitely recommend it to anyone because of the variety of activities that anyone could do.
Great to see the rescue grizzly bears and learn about conservation efforts. Generally I hate to see animals in captivity but this habitat is good and especially interesting to watch the video about how Coola and Grinder came to live at Grouse Mountain and the impact they will have for orphan bears in the future.
They were feeding the bears so they were active, got great pictures, can get quite close. Staff very knowledgeable. Enjoyed presentation.
The grizzly bears are doing well there.
Beautiful viewpoint on all Vancouver ! You can hike to go on the top, little bit hard to do because it's most of the time stairs for 2.5km, but the view worth it and it's expensive to take the gondola (~50$)
This is a first class refuge with the welfare of the grizzlies always a focus. I was so impressed with the habitat, informative staff and enthusiasm of everyone involved with Grinder and Coola's well being !
You never know how energetic the bears will be but when we were there they were very playful. Although it's crowded, you can get fairly close to the bears and get some great photos. Don't miss the video in the visitors center theatre about the bears before you visit the actual bear show so you know the animals' history.
A great place to visit. Must be capable of low impact walking, quite hilly and some distance between attractions. Well worth a visit. Loved the bear and bird shows and best of all the chairlift ride to the higher level. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks available and were reasonably priced.
Nice point of view of Vancouver area. Nice place to spend 2-3 houres of fun.
The place is beautiful, with fantastic views and enjoyable activities. Even if I expected it to be crowded during the long weekend, it was almost unbearable. Long line to get the shuttle, to get the food, to pay for the food, to seat for eating,... It looks like the place needs some reorganization to keep up with the increasing number of tourists.
Sometimes is hard to see the Bears but it's cool that they live in an open space and they can walk freely
Good place to see the bear at close. This time the bear slept but hope next time see more active bear :)
The bears were so cute and it was amazing to be so close to this magnificent animal.
I cried when I seen the bears, they are just so precious. They looked very happy indeed. Grinder was being silly and rolling about in the snow, he appeared to be digging a hole and would start play fighting with Coola then back to rolling …
Super amazing the staff were very knowledgeable about the grizzlies and super nice!
Unfortunately we visited on a very misty and wet day. Couldn't do much because of the weather so this was a very expensive trip to see the bears through the mist.
A well known tourist attraction in Vancouver. There are free shuttle buses from Canada place to Grouse Mountain. My family took the Gondola ride to top. The view is stunning. You can buy food from the shops at the top. The temperature will be cooler than the city. Hiking or comfortable walking shoes will be great. we watched the lumber jack show. it was fun. There is a nature walk. A guide will walk with you to the up to where the bears are living. The guide will explain to you the trees and plants in the area. If you are lucky, you may get a glimpse of deers or birds. There are two bears. They are having their life there. A handler will explain the story of bears and their lifestyle. There is a small shop near the bear place. They have coffee and snacks. Then you can have the skyride. On a clear day, it will be amazing. The day I visit was foggy. It is a great experience.
Fantastic journeys both up and down, weather was perfect
A great place full of activities to partake in.
Great sanctuary for the captive bears, over 5 acres big. The Grizzlies seem to be out and about in the mornings!
It's a great place for tourists, well laid out, lots of different activities such as a lumberjack show, hang gliding and bear sanctuary. It is a little sad these bears are locked up but their habitat looks authentic.
