Here you will be able to see the opinions of people like you who consume the products of Westman Reptile Gardens (Zoo) in Brandon area (Canada).
Now the firm receives a score of 4.4 over 5 and the rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is very good, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is very faithful. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Zoo.
There are too many animals in some of the cages
My kids loved the exotic animals and my daughter wishes she could have a snake lol
Love the place it awesome
Probably one of the coolest places I’ve been, not something you would think you’d find in the middle of nowhere! The lady there was so nice and offered us lots of good information about the reptiles they have there. We would definitely go again next time we’re driving across the country.
Huge selection of reptiles
This place is GREAT!!! I take my family at least once a year. The price to get in is a steal!!!!! We payed like $40 for 7 people. We were a bit early for feeding this time but have seen it before and its pretty cool to watch (if you like to see that stuff). He said he has some new stuff coming in a couple weeks and I can't wait to go again!!! Highly recommend
Enjoyed our visit. Friendly staff.
Got great selection of critters to keep the kids entertained
(Translated) marvelous! (Original) 太棒了!
It may have been impressive 10 years ago, but it looks like that's the last time they cleaned the enclosures, poor creatures look brutal, water dishes all have algae, cobwebs and dust everywhere, the ammonia smell assaults you before you even enter... yea. Not impressed. Very sad for the critters.
I am from B.C. and on a whim stopped here to check it out, turned out to be the highlight of my trip! Next year I was in the area and I made sure to take time to visit again. Very interesting place! Perfect for the reptile and amphibian enthusiast.
Awesome place to visit
Fun place to take the kids, lots of creatures to look at but it is tight to get in. We will go again.
Awesome little hidden gem in Westman. Must see, son loved it.
I would definitely recommend to visit Westman Reptile Garten. They for sure have the most amazing collection of cold-blooded animals I have ever had a chance to see.
Not much for signing to get there but amazing to see these reptiles. Still intimidating but worth the drive from Winnipeg. An experience for sure. The owner's we're very nice, answered any questions and interacted with us even though they were working on cleaning.
It was very interesting
I have rethought my previous review and I must say please think twice about visiting. It was shabby and the crocodiles were kept in small dirty closures and all the reptiles are lethargic and kept in filthy conditions.
It's a really interesting place! I've never been to a reptile garden before, so my friend took me. The lady working at the front (who I believe also tended to the animals) was super friendly and gave us some cool facts about some of the reptiles. The place doesn't look too grandiose, but it's still worth a trip down if you want to spare the time.
It's quite the interesting place to visit... if you're brave enough. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and more then eager to answer any questions you may have. Westman Reptile Gardens has a wide variety of reptiles to see it's definitely worth the detour if you happen to be nearby.
This was an excellent experience, with a wide variety of animals to be seen. The cost is far lower than would be expected based on the experience. Highly recommended!
Such a unique place to explore here on the prairies
Good educational experience for kids
Awesome experience loved seeing all the different reptiles
When driving in we thought we were at the wrong place, nothing about the outside looks like a Zoo, however when you go in it's very interesting! Some really cool reptiles and the lady was very friendly and answered all our questions! I would recommend stopping in!
Loved it.
The have a large variety of animals to see. Love the turtles. A manitoba hidden gem. Small facility but very cool.
Helpful kind staff
Felt sad for the animals though, there habitats were very small for them
If I could rate this 10/10 I would! It was so fun to see all of the critters they've got and you can really tell that the animals are well cared for. I'd highly recommend stopping by if you're passing through
Really cool place, lots of different creatures to see...even got to feed some turtles
What an amazing place to visit. Never in my entire life have I seen so many incredible creatures all at once. The staff knows there facts and the reptiles all look very healthy. This is a must visit before you die place lol.
This place is truly exceptional. The lady working was extremely knowledgeable and great with my kids. Admission is very reasonable as is the gift shop. My kids wanted to go again the next day and I am almost certain to get a pet bearded dragon in the future.
Great place to see critters not seen in Canada. Gators, crocks, scorpions and rattlesnakes and everything in between. One problem is that the building that houses them is in need of repairs and some enclosures seem a bit small for the large critters but can imagine the shear cost of heating and feeding them. Due to the off the beaten path place, business may not be high as it could. Overall, very interesting place to visit.
Went to visit the reptile gardens two times from Winnipeg, both times closed and they won’t even answer their phones. Why have business hours if they don’t operate daily as posted. Poorly managed
Horrible place. They don't care about the reptiles. Some are big reptiles living in very small habitats!!!
good price, lots of reptiles, friendly staff!
What a disappointment!!! I cannot believe this is considered a "major" attraction in Manitoba. The place is incredibly run down, dirty, dark and seemingly unsafe! It is basically one smal building in somebody's yard with junky buildings and vehicles all over. The guy behind the counter barely said 10 words to us. The enclosures are too small, dark, dirty and some appeared to be not even secured well! Not to mention the various junk setting in doorways leading to creepy hallways. I would not recommend this to anyone and if zero stars were an option, that's what I would rate it!!!
Amazing! Better than the zoo! Way more than i expected, and super cheap to get in!
First visit and would recommend.
The Reptile Garden is about 10 min off the #1 Highway. Parking is free and it only costs about $7 a person. The owners are friendly. Be prepared for the smell, afterall it's a reptile garden. There are a lot of different snakes, crocodiles and other reptiles. If you go with younger kids they might be terrified. My 5 and 3 year olds didn't want to stay at all and we had to leave.
None of these reptiles make any sense being in Canada. Well taken care of, minus one snapping turtle, and very friendly staff. Cheap too!
Great place to learn about reptiles. My daughter, terrified of snakes, asked lots of questions. Her comfort level was a little better seeing them confined. Ditto for my 7 yo granddaughter's comfort with spiders.
Quite a number of reptiles you can see in this place. Just 4/5 because I wasn't able to touch the albino python.
Was so in awe of what they had....We will definitely come back again. We came from Winnipeg and it sure was worth the trip! We talked with the couple that runs it and such great people that show their love of these unique animals....what makes this place so amazing too is that the animals are up close and everything was visible. Lots of surprises around each corner!
Takes about 45 mins to an hour. Lots of variety of animals. My favorite were the turtles and crocodiles
Pretty awosme place. Great price. Had a great time here with my 6 year old daughter. Spent a few hours wondering around in the cave-like hallways, looking at a large assortment of creatures. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful.
A fun and informative spot to take the kids! Spiders, snakes, gaters and other creepy crawlers to keep everyone amused!
Though my kids liked the animals there are a few motives for the 2 stsr review. This place seems like the house of a reptile's collector that one day decided to show his collection while charging. It charges $20 for a family of 4, and it takes around 20 minutes to see the place. The tanks are filthy and small and it is very sad to see the animals that some look dead, or almost. The smell...I can't even describe it. So, though kids might like it, I don't know why the city of Brandon and the province of MB promote this place as an attraction

I'll add more pics from my boyfriend's phone later but these alligators and crocodiles are kept in AWFUL conditions. This big one is lucky - most have grey walls, grey floors, a tiny pool that won't even reach some of their backs and a log if they're lucky. It was incredibly depressing, although the smaller animals are kept in fine conditions. That, and there's a baby crocodile in its own tiny little grey box, all by himself, kept in isolation. Very very sad.
Wasn't sure about it because it's basically in someone's yard but it was legit. So many snakes, turtles, turantulas, scorpions, crocodiles, boas, and pythons. It's one of the largest reptile exibits in Canada. Really cool!
I hate reptiles so much and as grossed out as I was it was kinda neat and the owner was so nice
I will never recommend this place. Besides being dirty and old, they have big snakes, alligators, and turtles in very small places. Some big turtles are in aquariums that they can barely move.
What a neat place! Kids loved the wide variety of reptiles on display and the staff were always happy to tell us more about them. Great value.
worth the drive from Winnipeg, the rattle snakes aren't to friendly but nature didn't intend you to spoon with them :p
Amazing display and a large variety of reptiles!
Great selection of reptiles, who knew we have crocodiles, alligators, huge pythons, and tarantulas! Still more with turtles, geckos...the list goes on. Too cool
Went during the winter and it was still amazing to go, tho the owner said that summer the animals are more active so will be going back then. We spent over an hour there, tho it is small there is lots to see.
Really cool, got to see snakes eating their pray
Snakes were way bigger then I was expecting would have got 5 starts if we could have touched reptiles and if they place was a little cleaner
I wish I could give less than 1 star. I honestly am blown away on how may people are impressed by this place. Its horrible. Yes they have a large selection of reptiles. Many, if not all are in tiny, disgusting and dirty enclosures. I have seen the signs on the highway for a few years and finally took the time to stop. When our google maps said we had arrived, I was confused. The place looks like a private residence. Any parking that is available inside is taken up by junked out old vehicles. Feels like your at an auto wrecker. Once you finally figure out where to go, as soon as you enter the building it hits you. Stench. I have owned many reptiles and have been to several reptile gardens in both Canada an US. This is by far the most inhumane and disgusting of them all. The conditions of all the crocs and gators is horrible. Small and dirty is the theme for almost every enclosure. It saddens me that a place like this exists and people praise it. :(
This place was super awesome! I didn’t know what to expect, but they did not disappoint! They have almost every reptile you can think of and they have them displayed very nicely! The tanks aren’t sparkly clean, but anyone who owns a reptile or aquatic pet knows they love to make a mess right after it’s been cleaned. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable, and the animals looked happy. If you’re a reptile person like I am I highly recommend visiting here!
We ended up finding this place on our way back home. It is such an awesome place. The admission price is well worth it. We now stop here everytime we are near it
Definitely worth stopping in for an hour or two. The cages weren't sparkling and shiny but anyone who cares for animals knows that they usually make a mess right after you clean the cage. The animals seemed well cared for and, after talking to the owner, it's obvious that they are in capable and knowledgeable hands. We will be back in the future!
Never been but looks horrible. Those poor animals look miserable.
My son really enjoyed the experience and the staff member working was very kind and made it even more enjoyable!
Interesting little place here, will definitely be coming back for a second visit.
Great place, cheap price. Worker seemed fine to leave you be if you wanted that, but also very social and knowledgeable. Definitely would go back and plan to.
Great pace to stop by! Short drive from the highway and convenient to get to. Super friendly staff and a large variety of reptiles.

I've been here a few times and have loved it every time. To be fair, the first time I was there I wasn't sure I was in the right place but after opening the door it was very evident I had reached the correct place. The owner has been nothing but friendly towards myself and family every single time I've been there as well has walked through the entire place with us answering all our questions while teaching interesting facts about the animals. To my understanding, this is purely family run and done out of a labour of love. Don't have unreasonable expectations that everything will be cleaned spotless. Besides, how many people are willing to go into the exhibit every day with alligators, crocs and snakes. It must be a Herculean task to manage the upkeep of the hundreds of animals they have. When you go there, I would recommend going on a cooler day, it can be very humid inside. If you go there with the intention of taking your time, enjoying the place and learning; you can easily be there for hours. If your goal is to blitz through, you can be done in fifteen minutes. Please keep in mind that these are animals, they aren't always going to be "putting on a show." I would rather drive out to Westman Reptile Gardens from Winnipeg than go to Assiniboine Zoo anyday.
Greet an interesting place
Loved it. The lady we spoke with was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a real bargain at only $6 per person.
Friendly staff. Way bigger than expected. Do not judge this book by its cover.
Nice place for animal lovers
Great place to bring reptile loving kiddos! Friendly staff and lots of creepy crawlies to see!
Great way to spend a couple hours! Lots to see, staff if knowledgeable & ready to answer any questions. Be cool to see more gift shop stuff tho
For a small fee you can see a huge variety of reptiles in rural Manitoba. Pretty cool place.
The entrance fee is good and there are a lot of animals BUT as we exited our van we were met with the smell of magots. There were a couple of horses that looked sickly and underfed. Inside we found narrow halls filled with aquariums. My kids aged 8,9 and 10 could not see into the top row of cages (and my kids are not short). The cages were too small, crowded and very dirty. Everything was dirty...the floors, walls, doors, cages and any water in the cages was also dirty. So while this was an interesting place to visit and I would recommend it I also question why they have not been shut down because of the conditions the animals live in.
Good price, and there is a variety of animals. However some of the enclosures are too small for the animals (example- monitor). There are also enclosures with wayyy too many animals. For example, leopard geckos should NOT be housed together. Especially male and females geckos. Since there were so many geckos some had thin tails or regenerated tails. If you are a true reptile enthusiast or care for animal well-being at all, you would be disgusted and heartbroken by this establishment.
Was bigger inside than i expected, very impressed with the vast array of animals. Staff were happy to answer questions and were very friendly.
Amazing, you just don't see that in Southern manitoba ..... Anywhere!!! Crocodiles and Alligators, snakes and frogs, crabs and tarantulas!!!!
A hidden treasure. We saw the Manitoba Attraction sign when driving to Brandon, stopped by to check it out. We thought we turned into a private property when Google said we were there, and realized it was the right place as there are two turtle statues on the ground. We are not super reptile fans but the varieties are amazing, never thought we could see these many reptiles here in Manitoba. Admission is too cheap compare to the large varieties you will see here~
We take the kids here 2-3 times every year. Fascinating animals and very visible, which can be difficult with reptiles. Sunday is feeding day if you're into that
Great place to see a large collection of snakes (small to very large and venomous), turtles, lizards, some alligators, caimans, and tarantulas! Low cost and can get through in an hour.
Great impressive place with absolutly knowledge stuff.
Very cool collection of reptiles
Just a lot of fun. They have lots of great reptiles to look at with a cute turtle pond to greet you.
Awesome!!!
A place to visit with children
Such a sad place to visit. Horrible dirty conditions, we didn't know if some of them were alive or dead. Dirty water, dark and depressing. The one turtle we saw was eating a fake plant. We took pictures but deleted them all because it made us all so sad after we left. I will never visit this place again.
Hidden gem for kids who like creepy crawlies. Bring some nose plugs
Awesome specimens
First time there. As a snake lover and anything deadly ????, place is awesome.
Quite impressive! And I'm never impressed with anything
This is a must stop place in Manitoba you will be amazed at what you see wonderful animals friendly staff
Our kids had a wonderful time. Large assortment of some very interesting reptiles.
Very informative
(Translated) An interesting private collection, reptiles clean and comfortable, well-groomed and well-fed especially on Sunday when they are fed (It is advisable without children, not a sight for everyone). From the advantages I can distinguish the presence of a "black mamba" which is already a rarity. Also a huge plus is the staff, a person specially trained to watch snakes can help you and explain how to watch them and where it is better to buy them. Of the minuses, I can distinguish not a presentable appearance of the institution, unfortunately only snake farmers will be interested as advertising is rather weak, but it is considered one of the best exotic parks in Canada. I recommend to visit, as a great place for dates and walks with friends (however, it is advisable that they love reptiles).
Fantastic
Fun place to take the kiddos, lots to see. More like a mini zoo!
Friendly staff very knowledgeable, from my opinion it looks like some of the enclosures for the animals could be kept in better shape and be cleaned more often but I'm not a reptile expert.
interesting
Alot of Reptiles you wouldn't see at a normal zoo. The turtles, Alligator and Water Dragons were our favourites. Thank you for the visit! First Timers!
Amazing collection well cared for and clean. staff was super friendly and knowledgeable
A wonderful experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and they make it a great visit
nice place
love coming to this place every summer ????
Amazing place! Very inexpensive (20$for a family of 4) lots of awesome animals, supper knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate staff willing to chat all day about reptiles.
Amazing place with lots of cool creatures! A must visit.
Took my family here today and had such a great time!! Lots to see!! the staff was super friendly and provided a lot of information! My kids had such a great time!! I wish I had brought a business card with me. I would love to collaborate on a project, there is just so much to work with at this business!! Recommend any families to check this place out!
Amazing reptiles and lots of information. Owner comes to answer any questions. Gift shop has unique affordable items. Kids and I loved it
Awsome if your in to reptiles.
