As you know, we don't usually bother to put tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is classified in the category of National park.
The foliage today was really nice. Lots to see while there. There is many different trails here we to took the Vista trail and the Orchard trail each of these are about 2 km each. While there we found a old rock building and gate.
I lived in Scarborough growing up and can't believe this place exists...it's gorgeous and many trails to explore...from easy, moderate or difficult...there's something for everyone!
A nature refuge right in Toronto, Rouge park offers stunning views, beautiful and colorful trees, lakes, river, fun and accessible trails. A perfect escape from the city for solo, friends or families adventures. It takes around 2 hours to explore the area. You can get there by public transit or by car (there's a free public parking at the local)
Perfect spot for hiking without going too far out of the city, wide paths, lots of small wildflowers, it makes for a great break from the concrete jungle! Keep your eyes open and look low, these flowers are pretty tiny. Smaller than a dime some of them. Watch out for those caterpillars!
This is such a place to get your body worked up a little and enjoy the views at the same time. Really loved taking a stroll through this place and enjoying the best views. Highly recommend to go on trails
Wonderful experience to see fall colors.
The best park I’ve been to! I’ve been through 3 trails so far and I hope to explore the rest!
Stunning beauty and breathtaking views. Plenty of parking
Beautiful hike in the summer and there is a great hill for tobogganing in the winter. Parking can be difficult
Amazing trails, easy to medium difficulty. Prepare to spend whole day here and it's fun for the whole family. You can do 5 mils or 15. Enjoy
Owesome Park in middle of Toronto by the zoo. Hiking trails are easy to moderate with beautiful views.
Awesome andone of most beautiful places to walk and hike in
So many trails and places to discover. Beautiful streams as well.
Such a beautiful park. Had such a good time there with my friends.
Beautiful scenery, quiet trails, and serene expanses of forests in every direction. A perfect place to get away from the city and take some time to enjoy the solitude of the natural surroundings.
Great location with beautiful hiking trails for all seasons. Experience great bird watching kayaking up the Rouge - filled with Herons.
Don't know how it is ranked as a "National" park! It is a 0.5 star if compared to Banff that is a 5-star national park in my opinion.
One of the best hiking trails in Toronto.
This part of the Rouge is a beautiful part, you have nice trails and might get lucky to see the train go by. My son and his friends liked seeing it ! its not far walk but it makes you feel like your up north for a bit. its great for alone time or with the family, dogs are welcome too.
Great place, will surprise you with Love n coolness.
It’s a good park. We love the hiking trail.
It’s a great place to go with family and friends. Don’t go on weekends as it is always packed. The vista trail is the best one but is long. Other trails are great too. It’s a great place for photos.
One of the best trails around. Either by bike or foot.
Amazing place for fishing and hanging out with friends!
Very nice place for a little hiking
There was a secret passage way that led to a beautiful ravine. Walking in the forest felt so unreal. We went yesterday, and it was the perfect weather with little to no insects.
Nice to visit
It a so mesmerising looking at the Nature , the bird nest the river stream and the trees and woods.. it's an amazing place. Just worry about the bugs...
Rouge National Urban Park was a great place to spend time with my loved ones. This park was huge and you can do many things like walking, jogging, paddling along the river or just simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Kids enjoyed seeing different animals and running around the open space. The area was clean and well- maintined. The place was also not crowded and strictly followed the COVID 19 precautions. They have enough parking space. It was also not hard to find since it is just along Zoo Rd. I will re-visit this place again.
Superb one.for Scarborough ppl must go..ppl goes most of the time out side of the city..know ur city first.one of the best fall colour ur can see.its have 3trails...all r differently beautiful and safe..
Great trail to walk on with family and friends. the rouge river is very clean and fresh here. many small trails to explore.
I live in this city five years but I never get in here. I visited this park in the winter and everything is stucked with ice. I just introduce with park and I was wondered huge trail and wetland in this park. Some food, water, snacks with a daypack have to come here and spend whole day in the trail. Amazing place in the city.
Rouge National Urban Park is the biggest urban park in Toronto. People come here for cycling, evening walk and enjoying nature. If you are lucky enough, you may also see deers grazing around. In Summer time it's usually crowded. There is no public restroom in this park.
There was no reason for me to deduct stars or points from the park, it was very scenic and and the routes were pretty fun exploring with my nephew (the one in the picture), not to mention the beautiful river. Overall this was a pretty relaxing hike! Would recommend to adventurous people, or to those who’d like a slow scenic hike. (This was early April)
Nice Park!
First hike of the year and started off in the small leagues. Dont underestimate the trails, they are dependent on what type of pace, length, and scenery.
This beautiful urban park is located not too far from the city core. It is bus accessible and there are many parking spots for those coming by car. The park itself has a lot of different trails that lead to open spaces where you can relax and take in the scenery. Beware or bug bites and sunburn so come prepared with a lot of bug repellent as well as sunscreen.
Its a lovely way to heaven, :) so calm beautiful colors in fall, an absolute wonderful spend time with nature ????
Fantastic trails and dog friendly environment - people are kind and considerate of each other and it's a great place for a workout
Watch out when walking on these trails. Some places are very steep,. Nice view though.
Once you get off the main trail its a great spot!
Lovely place to walk! You can escape to the beautiful nature countryside in the city.
I love Rouge Park. It has many trails to explore, is stunning in every season, and brings a great touch of nature to the large part of Toronto. I have been going to Rouge Park to explore their many trails for years. It is a family favourite fall activity.
Nice for a short daily walks
Good place to walking with a family and friends.
On a Saturday when you don’t know what to do but you know you would like to be close to the nature. Then this is the place. It was a sunny day, and we walked. We went hiking to one of the trails which would be close to 5-6 kms. It was fun and full of adrenaline rush. The beauty of it was at its peak. The sun was in full mood to feed us with Vitamin D. Explore the trails. There are also organized groups with whom you can plan but we went on our own. Also, make sure you are in the right gear-tracks, shoes. Carry yourself bottle of waters and do not forget to check the weather in advance to make the most of it. I will be going so there to complete the other trail.
I photographed an engagement session here recently, and the trail is absolutely beautiful. Took us about an hour to get all the way around. Word of warning- if you're going in the summer months bring bug spray because we got EATEN ALIVE!!!
Absolutely loved my day trip here. So many trails to explore and the observation deck look off was beautiful. Went off trail a few times to do some exploring and crossed over a beautiful river. Was quite busy when first arriving but everyone spreads out along the trails and if feels like you’re hiking alone. Parking is difficult! Not much parking and very crowded. Try and get there early for a good spot or prepare to get creative or find another entrance.
Really nice path. We took Vista and found a trail down to the river. It will be beautiful in the spring. I will come again
Tough finding parking! Lovely side small trails, as well as the main ones, beautiful. The creek was very peaceful and found a beaver dam. Totally need to see more!
Great open space for hiking and going on an adventure just on the perimeter of the city. A lot of safe and family friendly routes to walk during the winter time.
Family fun time - neat pleasant environment
This place has nice sceneries. You can go fishing here. There is a beach here where you can swim or sunbathe. There is also a part where there is big stones as shown in the picture. It is very instagrammable. If you feel like climbing stairs, there is a place here that is much elevated that gives you a view of the sea. Will definitely come back!
For an urban park, it's really quite big and varied. You can get lost in here for a little bit if you're not paying attention, and I think that's what makes it very interesting for someone like me, who lives adventures! There are many trails to explore, two streams running through the park as well. You could possibly walk all the way down to the beach. I loved the fact that the hiking trails here are actually like real hikes - the elevation changes quite a bit throughout the park, so does the thickness of the woods. I went there on a rainy day, and there are places along the trails where the tree cover is think enough that you won't get wet!
A nice place to bring the family. We went for a short walk for a couple of hours through trails, forest, and riverside strolling. There was even an observation deck with which we could view the pedestrians on the other side of the park +5km~ away. Many different levels of hiking. We will be back.
Rouge park is one of the nicest looking parks in GTA
I was a volunteer with TRCA tree stewardship and planted many trees in the Rouge before it became a federal park. This place is beautiful. It's hard to believe you are in Toronto. The close proximity and ease of travel has a downside, the parking can sometimes be overloaded and the paths very congested. Better to visit parks outside Toronto on holidays and visit the Rouge on less active times. When you're there please do NOT litter.
Great place, been going since I was a kid. Recommended for hiking and mountain biking. Snake hill is a good spot for a workout.
Very cool trails and beautiful scenery.
Good walk near the city. Clean but weekends in the summer are really crowded.
Lots of fun rain or shine. Many trails. Not crowded and lots to see and do. Many parking lots to.choose from.
Great place for families, pets to get some fresh air. Excellent terrain for hiking with plenty of space and various trails to follow. During the winter season just be cautious as there is a lot of ice that develops along the walking trail. Only challenge is finding a parking spot down during busy times or holidays.
Very beautiful park
We appreciate your service on Time you all wel come success Good luck to you all ????
A great place to get away from the city within the city. There are different trails you can explore and they are marked fairly well. The different seasons also make a hike a unique experience.
Hidden gem discoveries during COVID. Thank goodness.
So worth the trip. Nice trails by the Little Rouge creek.
Rouge National Urban Park covers a relatively large area in the outskirts of Toronto. It’s certainly not the first thing one would recommend to visit. The word “urban” in Rouge National Urban Park is descriptively appropriate to this particular park. The southern part of Rouge National Urban Park features a small sandy beach; no BBQs allowed. There’s a phone number posted on the beach that you can call to verify the water quality. If you look at the East of the beach, far away you’ll notice a large factory. There are also two bridges in the area: one for pedestrians, the other for trains. The Rouge Hill Go Train station is a 5 minute west of the beach. From the beach, you can see and hear Go Trains (and the occasional VIA train) passing by every 5-10 minutes. The Southern part of the Rouge National Urban Park also includes a medium to large size busy parking lot. North of the parking lot is a marsh and short board walk where people like to fish, walk, and take photos.
Lots of trails can explore~easy hiking routes, 2 kms each averagely~views is soso
A day well spent !
A great camping spot and nice trail
I went to see the beautiful fall colors. This park was recommended by my friend. I went on the Thanksgiving Monday. The parking lot was full I guess everyone wanted to see the fall colour, but if you keep circling you probably will find parking spots because people come in and out. In busy time they are staffs to direct traffic. There were lots of people, most of the time I had my mask on. The trial is very beautiful & it is quite easy to walk. There are portable washrooms. There are signs along the trails i went on Vista trail
Fun place to explore
Feel like you are far away from the city. Great walking trails.
Thanksgiving Hike Fantastic Trails busy busy
Stunning views especially at this time of year as the leaves are changing. Lots of vistas and lively view of bluffs. The outlook observation deck was a nice stopping point. And even from up on top of bluff we could see the salmon swimming in the river. Only downside was getting the ticks of our puppy after the trip.
Pure nature full of eye catching scene
Nice retreat from the city but it does get busy. We saw 3 deer on our hike.
such a nice view in fall!
Very nice park
I like this park but the scenery isn't very unique. There are lots of nicer parks around. Also parking could be a problem.
Come prepared with water bottles. It can get pretty hot and humid inside the park
Awesome hiking spot can be challenging but overall great fun for adults and kids alike
A beautiful place to walk and explore!
Excellent walk and Visuals.......Plenty of nature all around for a serene walk with the sound of nature going through your ears
A true treasure for Toronto. You don't need to go to Algonquin to fel it...head over to the rouge, pick a trail, bring liquids and a picnic and away you go...the wilderness of Ontario awaits...all minutes from the Sheppard east bus. Fantastic vistas
Wonderful time at Rouge National Urban Park. The trails along the waterfront, the beach and loved the bridges over water. All the highest points around the park perfect for photography. Great spot for fishing as we watch many along the water under the bridge for hours. Bikes are very prominent in the areas. Parking was free before entering the park and you also have the option to drive down into the park but parking is limited and monitored at the top of the hill entrance.
Great place to go hiking
Beautiful park with great trail and hike place. If u have dog beware of deer ticks.
Great place to bring kids and explore the forest and river. Also great for you and that special someone in your life to get away for a couple of hours! Highly recommend this park!!!
Love this park~ have many trails to hike~
Had an amazing hiking experience today at the Rogue National Urban Park. The Park team was super aware of the surroundings, informative and friendly. We saw a red robin come down on a picnic table, and got to see a beautiful monarc following us along the trail. Highly recommend this park for anyone looking for a great hike, or run through nature. Side note, Park Bus is offering a free shuttle from downtown Toronto all summer, so for those of you in the city looking for an escape from the city.
Good place to take walk with your kids.
Heavenly get back to nature and forget the trouble times.
Fall colours are lovely, and there are lots of different trails to take (some are more well marked than others). Definitely worth coming back to!
It's alright. The view was great at this time of the year but there wasn't much.
It’s so beautiful
So far we only went down the orchid trail, but It was absolutely stunning. This is one of the most beautiful places we have been. Lots of trails which you can see the trails on Google maps(well the orchid trail is and a few others in the area). There was a fork in the trail and we pulled up maps and just followed the direction and when we wanted to turn back we just looked for a path that looped back. Super clean place with many animals. We seen turtles! I recommend bug spray... Lots and lots of bug spray... It a forest and I stupidly went in and got bit up pretty bad. Good first day of summer.
The park is huge and many different trails to explore! It is beautiful and away from the city yet inside the city
East of this city there are a few nice trails here. Might be a bit difficult if you have a child with a stroller as it does get a bit hilly. Parking can be hard to find. Otherwise some nice scenery.
favourite place for Sunrise, and great places for hiking within urban area.
A wonderful place to go for a hike. Just check the weather, if it is raining or rained the night before then the parking is muddy and difficult for those with strollers to navigate.
Loved hiking in here ???? there are so many trails that you can easily spend all day with family/friends. Highly recommended!
A great place for a hike on a sunny day. We started at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre and walked along the Vista trail to Twynn Rivers road. We followed the Orchard trail to loop back to the start. The round trip took us 1.5 hours and was mostly flat. There's parking just outside the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre. The Vista trail has two branches: turn left at the start to walk the branch of the trail that passes by the observation deck. The start of the Vista trail is in a clearing but then passes through a forest. The Orchard trail ends at a road. Turn left and walk along the road to return to your starting point/parking. The road may seem like a major incline but it is an optical illusion.
First time ever going here, and though it rained, it was a great hike! The views are beautiful at this time! The colours breathtaking! I can imagine this park is really busy on a sunny day. Definitely worth a visit during the fall season.
I was visiting Toronto and this park was recommended. Great for hiking and nature photos!
The best combination of hiking trails. Do Winter hiking, you find a lot of surprises.
Great place so accessible to people in the city!
Perfect for canoeing swimming running and road bike!
It was fun time camping
The best one in GTA!
Beautiful trails and amazing views!
Nice bicycle trail. Beautiful scenery ????????
Perfect spot to get away from city life. Nice trails. Busy on weekends.
nice place to break sweat...great amenities.tennis court, baseball field, football field, skating rink, and a children's play area...great place.
An amazing park to spend a whole day hiking in if yiu wanted to. There are so many gorgeous trails and you can really get lost in the grandeur of the nature. There are easy trails for beginners, intermediate trails for those that want a little bit of a challenge and some much more challenging trails for those that are really inclined to get a serious workout. There are tons of access points into the park, and small parking areas for vehicles.
Very nice place for afternoon walk.
It's a beautiful park! A lot to see if you are a nature person. It's not just a flat surface. We liked it because there's different ways to take the path...some of it you have to climb in a very steeped, zigzag and somewhat flat ways. We hiked near the water and the forest area. Its amazing!!! We recommend Rouge Park for everyone!!!
Very good park for hiking for casual hikers! Trails are easy and park is beautiful. Free parking and easy to find.
Lovely place to feel like you've left the city without actually leaving the city.
Lots of Caterpillar. Good trail.
Well maintained trails and friendly staff
Great spot to go hiking with th3 kids and doh
Lots of different trails and amazing lookout spots. Parking can get full.
Nice palce to do hike and pose for some clicks
Great place for enjoying the outdoors.
It was great. It's still alright if you don't mind watching random folks kick down and destroy habitat for the sake of having something to sit on. Good way to get ticked. That being said, check your dogs, there is always one more tick to remove.
An amazing park, just across the Toronto Zoo entrance and few minutes from 401. Easy to get there, free parking, nice trails and a awesome view.
Very close to Tornto Zoo It's a huge trail, not possible to cover the whole place in a single day! Awsome for adventure lovers.
Always best for hiking. But if u need some "alone time" , just start walking and the trees will takeout your bad n sad vibes.
Toronto's most astonishing secret - it's beautiful, rain or shine, and so close to the city.
❤️
A nice park to go for a walk in
One of gorgeous nature that you can enjoy after parking your car and then take a deep breath.
The National Park closest to the city. Need more maintenance and further development on hiking trails.
I visited.. Enjoyed lot .. perfect spot for weekend. Perfect Spot for hangout & workout .. can run & walk freely. Feels like we are in jungle ..
went on a sunny day but the temperature while inside the woods / during the hike was perfect. we parked at the zoo road parking, the lot was huge. the view from the observation deck was perfect and i already decided that I'd go back in fall. I say vista was an easy to moderate trail and it was a kid / family friendly. It was refreshing to be with nature! It's a must visit place. It was my first time visiting and I am from Scarborough.
Beautiful nature. Recently I discovered this beautiful place.
Enjoy my walk
A beautiful spot to feel like you are one with nature:)
Been fishing and taking my children here since they were little. A real blessing in the city and magnificent green space. Vast kilometers of trails walking, biking or running. Beach gets overwhelming crowds on weekends and afternoons. So move accordingly and get there if you want to get parking.
There are so many entrances to this place! My favorite is the entrance from Shepherd avenue.. The trails are beautiful from that side.. You feel like you're walking in a rain forest right in the middle of the city
Beautiful for hiking and mjni adventure to explore some wildlife. However, it us easy to get lost there due to lack of signage and no where to sit and take a break.
Beautiful sites! Quite a few inclines and declines in some sections so keep this in mind if you have knee troubles or a stroller !
OMG I LOVE DIS PLACE????????????⚘ I had so much fun riding around on the different trails, exploring little craveses, watching the train go by and the different kind of birds, and the view from the Observation Deck. One trail leads to Twyn Rivers where you can explore the wetlands. I saw beaver, opossum, frogs, butterflies, and fishes in the river. Next time I will go deeper in the woods????
What a beautiful walk! Awesome trail. Manageable for the novice walker without being dull. Some steep/slippy areas so wouldn't class it as accessible but a lot of fun with a decent pair of trainers/sneakers or walking boots. Toddler & dog loved it.
Great trails to walk around. I like the waterfront trail. It's very long, not too sure where it leads to.
The park is very well maintained in almost natural form. The trails are great to be in an urban area
Quite walking trail with lots of shades. Interesting trees and beautiful creek.
We started from Orchard Trail ???? We end it island rd (Rouge Hills dr & Island rd)???? It was so nice trip You can see deer ???? It can be little bit hard for children and old people
Beautiful but full of flies
It’s a perfect place for family adventure. The park is in the city, and I guess that’s the most important thing. You can go for hiking and the trail is not that difficult as well. Parking can be a bit of an issue during holidays.
Hiked Mast - Vista - Cedar - Orchard - Mast, Came out to around 13k. Fantastic hike, gorgeous views, especially on Mast and Vista. Terrain just challenging enough for some hikers in training :) Will definitely be back.
Beautiful trail
Not clean. Need better maintenance. Not much to see.
You'll love hiking here as this park offers multiple hiking routes alongside each others. You can take a stop and sit beside the small river and enjoy eating your snacks and food while hearing the sound of water and birds chirping above your head. Please keep the nature clean!
A really nice and calm place to get away from the city in with.
Beautiful but dont bother on the weekends. The paths are too narrow and its packed with people. Weekdays before 11 are best
We did Orchard Trail north from Twyn Rivers then crossed over the creek on Zoo Road and then returned via Vista Trail
If only young adults would be taught in schools how to protect our nature as they were recently thought how to wear masks for protecting themselves! Rouge park is littered with masks, coffee cups, doses of drinks and why not dental floss in a Ziploc bag and broken plastic sleds?!!
Because of COVID, some parts are closed so is not great for long hike. We could hike just trail 2.5km
Amazing..best in GTA
Great guided hikes every week (organized by knowledgeable volunteers from Parks Canada).
Amazing during fall season; hard to get a parking spot during weekends.
Don't come here...it's to crowded as it is. ☺️
Amazing walk with the family. Lucky to see some whitetail deer. Spent nearly 4 hours exploring the different trails. We got to see a huge goods train go by. Overall a very good place for the family.
Usually there will be other people around, but most encounters happen in the parking lot and people keep distance. The trails are are diverse enough you will hardly run into other people. My family and myself enough hikes here often, we really enjoy that every season it offers new beauty.
Today difficult to find parking. Trails were either muddy or icy. Looks like would be nice to hike in better conditions These are the good pictures lol
Great views! Plenty of space for physical distancing
Had the best time enjoying the trail and water.
Huge natural park in the city.
Great trails with lots of wildlife to see if you're lucky. I've been to a lot of conservation parks and this one ranks among the best.
A nice place to go yes
Amazing Trails
On the evening of June 18th, 2021, it was cool outside and the water was calm. Very peaceful. I'm looking forward to visiting Rouge park again.
It is the place we have been keep on going back.
Lovely natural habitat, lots of trails of all grades, close to public transit
Rouge park has great trails and is an amazing park in the city.
Great place for family beach hiking fishing Love this place :)
Fun to drive through. Nice and scenic for a walk.
Great hike lots of ice so be careful.
Gorgeous park, it does get crowded - but even on a Saturday it wasn't too packed. Parking is free but you will be circling for a good few minutes. Lots of great exploration to be had off the beaten trails. Look closely and you will spot some mushrooms ????
Friendly park! The parking area is massive. There’s different trails you can go to. Make sure to wear proper attire-especially shoes.
You can see the beauty of earth here. The colorful autumn and nice pathway as show in pictures. A piece of heaven
Easy trekking place, accessible.
Have lived in Pickering for 5 years but this week I hiked here for the first time. Can't believe it took me so long. The trail is easy to access from the parking area. Such beautiful views and many options of ways you can walk the trail. Be prepared for some hills. Beautiful experience!!!
I have to say this is a wonderful place that I regularly visit for trail running C Facebook group C air BNB experience come and join lot of fun and durrance training stamina training
One of best park to view to fall colors in Toronto or near by Toronto. Given the platform you can view the platform from the height to have complete view. And then are trails you can explore how much ever you want to.
I haven't spent much time here, but it looks like a great place to recreate. We're so lucky in Toronto to have a national park so close!
Always a great getaway from busy city lifestyle.
Very beautiful trail, more on the easy side. You do have to cross actual roads in some trails which breaks the nature aspect of it, but nonetheless very enjoyable to hike there. Also has a breathtaking viewpoint! Worth it! Updating review: MUST SEE DURING FALL, the view point is just gorgeous with all the fall leaves
Beautiful trails. Clear signs. Free parking with portables. Great experience.
Rouge National Urban Park is made for walking/hiking in the hills among trees, in the valley along the river, in every season. Even a great big hill to toboggan down after some fresh snow. And always a chance to spot some wildlife, from salmon in the water, ducks floating on top, woodpeckers in trees, maybe even deer in the bush, and more. The more you walk here, the more attuned you become to how natural life follows the rhythm of the seasons. See you out there!
Great place to walk the dogs outside, but be aware there are LOTS of ticks!!
Loved the trails but totally got lost because some areas had signs that were not updated which led to dead ends and deeper into the forest. But luckily I was able to retract my steps and found my way out easily. Otherwise it is beautiful. I saw a deer there at one point. Awesome uphill trek.
We did Vista trail. Bit steep in the beginning but it's an easy trail. They have a viewing/observation deck on the top. Beautiful views and colors as of October 1, 2020. Such a nice place that's not too far from the city.
Great short trails to walk on. It is a little muddy at parts with the weather getting warmer so wear proper footwear !
Beautiful park, plenty of space for social distancing. ????
Great place to go for a walk
Great park! But wouldn't go in the summer with your dog ,it's filled with ticks !
Beautiful national park at the edge of the city. Lovely trees, trails, creek and wildlife. Love it!
Great place to hike. So peaceful and nature as it's best
Many parking spots, nice place for hiking, good view of fall and winter, spring and summer.
Great park. There are so many trails. My wife and I walk through here almost every other day!
Autumn ???? Really nice time
I only passed through to go to the cemetery to visit my mother's grave.
Bit crowdy but nice place for a walk or fishing
A national park close to Toronto! Very friendly Park staff who greeted us, gave us a map and made recommendations on which trails to follow. There are several trail options so you can continue on if you want to walk further or head back to the start if you have had enough. The hiking was not difficult and the trails were marked with standard blazes on trees. There were a few junctions where we were unsure which way to go but figured out the way based on the map. Make sure to pick one up before heading out! We went on a windy and rainy day so parking was available near the zoo. We had a bit of adventure as we walked under a grove of walnut trees. The wind was so strong, it blew the large walnuts down and we had to run for cover.
Love this park. Not difficult, and lots of parking!
We appreciate Help Care. Yoga's Volunteer MARUTI IS Motivated community Volunteers work in India and Canada's 2003 till today for a Great help community in Canada's
Free parking, nice drive, lots of beautiful walking paths with mature trees and peaceful river sounds.
It is a beautiful park that is easily accessible. The trails are well maintained and are not particularly difficult. Some great spots if you do want a challenge with steep slopes.
I have been hiking through the paths here for a couple of months and it's got a number of steep hills if you need hill training for trail runs or OCR training. The loop is about 5km or go through it twice for a 10km.
It's a great park system within Toronto!
Such a perfect park with lots to see. There’s also a beach near by.
My wife and I really enjoy this park! I recommend it to anyone highly.
Nice place for hiking. I enjoyed some time there with my friends.
Perfect park to enjoy your autumn ????
Lots of trails to walk. Have to watch your step and look where you are going. Could be slightly difficult for very small children and very old adults. Dogs must be on leash. Place is picturesque and looks different in each season. Planning to walk here again in the fall. Limited parking so plan on coming very early in the morning or be patient and wait for a spot to park. Camera a must. Though we did not see any wildlife I'm sure they were there. Updated: visited in the fall. Still amazing to walk and view the changing colors.
An awesome place to be! Interesting trails and beautiful views!
A hood hike for the kids, with the possibility of a longer hike if you want to keep going sand kiddos. Scenery is beautiful.
Vista trail is a great trail. Free parking opposite Toronto Zoo as of May 2021
This is a very nice park for your family to visit ????
Lots of different trails with great scenery. Fun time for the whole family no matter how old or fit. Great place to go in any season. Plan ahead and prepare some snacks... Definitely bring water. There are several starting points, so check a map and know where you are parking. It is a popular area, so don't be surprised if your original chosen parking lot is full.
It's huge, it's pretty wild, you can make your way down to the river but it's a tough climb coming back up 100% recommended! This would be class to level two hike I believe it's a lot of elevation going up and down but absolutely worth when you get to the river at the bottom... Careful trying to cross it though, the water is pretty fast and the rocks are pretty slippery
Lovely place for a hike! It gets quite busy on weekends but the further down the trail you go the less people are around
Absolutely beautiful! It was my first time going there and it was beautiful, I expected the paved trail to be longer but there are alot of side trails to choose from. Definitely worth the trip.
Nice afternoon walk, lots of open vistas, no woods here, at least not in immediate view. Lots of geese flying over, some flocks of sparrows. The trail is very wide, made for disabled people too. Parking lot (starting point) is big enough for many cars. As the name suggests, this is urban trail, you can hear the cars in a distance, from various directions. Enjoy.
Beautiful views of the fall colors, and multiple paths to see the water and forests. We went exploring with our little one (kindergarten-aged) and it was doable for him. We took some shorter paths but there was still a lot to see. Might be a little tough with strollers or very small children (unless in a carrier) since there are rocky or narrower paths and a lot that's up/downhill. Parking is also very limited. Still worth a visit!
Luscious urban trail in the heart of the city.
It is one of the most beautiful parks in Toronto. There is so much to see and you may even be lucky to see the deer that live in the Rouge. There are a lot of trails and rivers to follow. It is great for hiking and biking. Just be prepared for the scary steep hill you need to drive down to get to it. They have a few parking lots as well.
Fantastic please; best time to visit is an evening on fall. Enjoy
A beutifull and peaceful place which attracts tourists once u visited will definitely come again to spent more time here
Loved it. It was a adventures experience and felt rejuvenate in the nature's lap.
A good walking hike but too short for a good trail run.
Very popular place to visit during the fall. Almost too popular that you might not find parking. If you really want to get those gorgeous Instagram pictures, go during the day on a weekday.
Beautiful park. Would recommend
Recommend going off trail if you're feeling adventurous. Getting lost will never happen due to many land marks guiding you.
Nice place for hiking.
Walked the Mast trail with a friend and it was so different from the usual paved paths in the surrounding parks in the neighborhood. You are right in the middle of a forest with steep drop offs so be careful, but it is worth it. The trees animals birds and the nearby Rouge River gives you the impression that you're miles from civilization but for the distance faint white noise of the 401. I highly recommend that you visit this pristine wilderness on our doorstep, I promise you, you won't regret it.
Some great trails here!
Good place where you can find your dream Toyata brand....
It's my happy place.. I call it my infinite playgroud.
Huge park with over a dozen trails. Could use some better signs and a trail map.
Rouge is a great getaway from the noise and business of the city. Large area with some nice casual trails. Rating at 4 stars because wayfinding and signage could definitely be improved. As a keen explorer it’s very disconnecting to refer to my phone for directions and trail information.
An amazing gorgeous trail ...explore the beautiful nature within the City.
Lots of trails and nature. You can easily walk for miles and wont even notice. There is a few off trails that will take you to the river, not so pretty the river but gives you a nice breeze. You can relax and enjoy the views.
An oasis right in the GTA! Beautiful and diverse trails to choose from and tons of space to stay safe during COVID. I especially recommend the Vista Trail and the Mast Trail. There’s also a great app for the park you can download to help you navigate as you hike. Parking can get really busy on the weekends so go early or choose some of the smaller lots.
beautiful frozen lake views... good get away around these times. Do carry your masks along.
Beautiful Trail! :)
Beautiful large park in Toronto. It’s vey far from the subway so transit takes far too long. Parking is very limited but free. There’s a few trials available. I found the Orchard trail to have great signage for part of it and the other part had none. This trail seem less busy than the others but aren’t as scenic.
Lots of different trails with great scenery. A really good place to spend time with families and friends.
Great place for family and friends. The autumn colours are fabulous this time of year. Try hiking to the observation deck, spectacular view.
Very good place just next to Toronto zoo, it has small river and Lake too. Enjoyed small mountain trails.
Wild hiking park and close to the city. Sceneries are different around the year. Always beaui.
Fantastic selection and very friendly staff! Not to mention great prices!
Very big and nice. Has cliffs, river, lake, forest - everything you can think of in the park. So it's nice place to go for a few hours walk.
Its quiet but stay away from the mosquitoes for the nights ????
Absolutely picture perfect
Special Park, very good
Paved trails at Lake Ontario but a great change of pace without leaving the GTA. Public washrooms were open. Less visited by those not local.
I will go there again in Fall! Lol
Incredible place to breathe and stretch! Beautiful trails, rivers, streams and so much so that you will forget to return home. It is very close to Toronto Zoo. You will simply like it. Portable washroom available. Parking spots are available and very cheap. Accessible TTC bus 86. Checkout this place ASAP. So much fun for hiking.
The perfect for a hike through the beauty of the Rouge and all it has to offer. You an see all kinds of wildlife including beavers, cardinals, woodpeckers and bluejays.
Visited Thanksgiving Monday and was very busy but there was ample parking for all.
Large, beautiful national park with a few rivers and several walking trails.
This park have a little bit of every thing, you can go hiking or enjoy a beautiful walk or bird watching an much more . It's beautiful I enjoy trail hiking walk.
My family love to come here for hikes throughout the year. It can as easy or as challenging as you want. We always explore trails that we have not taken before and seek adventure. Our kids are getting older so we can explore further and further from where we park. It can be quite busy at times but always worth the visit. During the fall, you get to see the great colours in the foliage. Amazing views, great exercise and time spent with family - what else would you want.
A lovely urban park to explore
Amazing 'park' close to the city to relax and catch some scenery. Also a really good place to do trail runs. A full circuit is around 13 kilometers composed of around 3/4 smaller trails
The trails here are amazingly beautiful. There is parking available as well. I suggest using insect repellent though before going there as in July it had quite a few bugs. Its a good place for people who want different range of trails...from small to quite long as well!
Nature in city. Easy trail.
A nice steap road to walk up and down on along with a beautiful tunnel surrounded by water, rocks and nature.
Awesome hiking path. Can't beat it.
My favourite park in Scarberia
The most beautiful hills and valleys of Toronto. Lots of pine trees and an unique scenario.
Go on a hike ..place for nature lovers
Excellent place! Calm and tranquil! Sub urban vibe in GTA...
This place is perfect for lazy folks LOL. It's a short trail with creek and two swamps (small lake??). Filled with little critters and some swans too. There's porta potty nearby with hand sanitizer by the door. Quite a crowd on weekend of families and couples. You can bring your dog but don't forget to put them on leash. You can certainly bring yourself or your pet to play in the creek since the current is weak and it's very shallow but always keep an eye on them.
Perfect place for fall ???? been here 3 times and it has been a wonderful experience! Go up at the top and enjoy the view of beautiful sunset/city ! This places has so much to offer .
Nice place close to the nature ????
If you like hiking and live in Toronto, this’s probably the best place to start your adventure. My family and I planned to go hiking on a mild spring day. We had completed 3 trails after 4 hours since we’ve a kid tagged along with us. Anyway I was pretty satisfied with our short journey on the day. The rivers and the trails aren’t difficult for beginners, we just need to follow the signs. Other than that, the view from top of the hill was extremely gorgeous as I couldn’t stop my phone from taking the best angle of it. Now guess what, the best part was when I bumped into 2 water snakes. It wasn’t terrifying, they might stare at you, stay calm and you’ll be fine. I’ve been hiking in Rouge Park for more than 3 times and on the whole, they’re by far one of the best places I would definitely recommend to a friend or family member who enjoys hiking or biking just like me. P - Nov 20, 2018
Nice place to get relax and to spend time with family and friends. Nice walking trails
This area is very nice for hiking and enjoying of nature.
Great trails, did the Mast Trail and the Vista Trail ????
Excellent marked trails. There is an app for trails but I have not tried. Great for picnicing, snow shoeing , skiiing, in the winter.
Beautiful scenery and very peaceful.
Wonderful place for a walk or run.
It was fairly busy on a Sunday afternoon. There wasn't very much parking. Dog owners...please be careful...our dog got 6 ticks here while on a fairly short leash (4ft).
Great place to visit
This is a beautiful place for the family. A great hike
Really nice wilderness trails close to the city. Multiple trail heads to take. Moderate skill/exertion level. Popular and often somewhat busy. If dog walking be mindful of the occasional tick problems
Must go trail. Was my first trail in Canada and I really enjoyed it.
Nice place for a peaceful hike away from the crowds. Omar and RNUP staff should be commended for maintaining such an excellent facility for the public to enjoy free of charge.
Because it was so busy there was a security guy directing cars. He wanted everyone to park rediculously close together. When we got back to our car we couldn't get in because he had packed the cars in beside us so tightly... The park itself however was really nice. Lots of different trails to choose from. Some flat for casual walks and some your almost climbing. Nice place for any level of hiker to check out.
Excellent outdoor experience, limited marking spots, several paths to choose. If your orientation skills are not good just use google maps
Went there early morning today to watch the Lunar Eclipse Blood Moon. Although it was cloudy, just before the eclipse could end got beautiful view of the Moon through my Telescope. Check the pictures. Parking is available. Observation deck is open.
This is without question one of the nicest (and largest) parks in the GTA and I would very highly recommend to take a friend or family member here for a hike or even picnic by the river. There is also a fun training hill with a very steep incline that will have you huffing and puffing, no doubt. ????
Beautiful place to hike and enjoy nature. And so close to drive to.
A national park right next to the Toronto Zoo. Has multiple trails, with only a small portion that is accessible to strollers, which has a nice viewpoint overlooking the Rouge River and the many maple trees in the next mountain.
A great place for a hike. Trails can be rugged so wear good footwear
Can be slippery and dirty after rain, but a good escape otherwise!
Great place for a hike and enjoy fall colours
There was no reason for me to deduct stars or points from the park, it was very scenic and and the routes were pretty fun exploring with my nephew (the one in the picture), not to mention the beautiful river. Overall this was a pretty relaxing hike! Would recommend to adventurous people, or to those who’d like a slow scenic hike. (This was early April)
Amazing place for fishing and hanging out with friends!
Lovely natural habitat, lots of trails of all grades, close to public transit
Pretty scenery and many trails to choose from
Out for a stroll and a doobie
Beautiful trails at various levels of incline/difficulty. Right by the highway; it's an amazing escape from the city.
Great spot to walk on and off trail- on trail is pretty populated but off trail is great for dogs- make sure to prepare for ticks/ there is a lot
It’s beautiful, but as a dog owner I wish there would have been a warning for that this area is a tick hot spot. Walked for 2 hours and found 7-8 ticks attached to my dog when we got home. So just a fair warning to all dog owners who are thinking of going here.
A great place to unwind, spend with family, and just be with nature; even if it close to the city
nice
Great place, I wish I could bring my dirtbike ;)
The weather was amazing and the trails were easy enough to hike with small kids.
The park is beautiful.... went for fall colors festival it was too good
Love that it's free and they have portapotties to use. The trails are wonderful and lots of wildlife.
Community Good lucky we are doing Well Jay
Rouge Park didnt dissapoint with it great scenery and winding trails. We went in October so the colours of the leaves were really beautiful. The only drawback was the constant sound of the nearby highway. I guess that is the tradeoff for being so close to the city.
Overated, under-developed, rough and not much to see. Not a park to me, more like an organic rough jungle. No where to picnic or sit. Trail / road is harsh and uneven, scratched and broke my nice sneakers because of the sharp tree branches on the ground! There are lots of nicer parks in GTA with better scenaries. Too many people in the weekend. No problem with parking. Personally I will not go back.
Stunning views, honestly breathe taking. If you love adventure and are up for a bit of a hike this is your place. Beat time to visit is in fall the colors make it that much more magical. ????
Beautiful park with access to beach. Great place to spend time with the family along the water. Neat and clean to also have bbq.
Beautiful spot towards the east side of Toronto - great place to hike around, get some fresh air, and reconnect with nature. In winter, there's a huge hill for tobogganing - the view and the trip down the hill make walk to the top totally worth it. Enjoy!
excellent fall view, easy trails
Loved the trails, great escape next to our home
Since this is the closest hiking trail near me I go often. I've noticed lately a lot of cidiots hiking the trails with music blasting on speakers and many anti socials who can't even muster a good morning as they pass. I much prefer northern and remote trails.
Beautiful park with a few natural trails and observation deck) Great for walking and relaxing This park is very busy on weekends (
Was an awesome walk would highly recommend going here was next to no bugs depending but well worth spending the day
Beautiful and peaceful.
We arrived early in the afternoon on Saturday. We had a bit of struggle finding a parking spot and had to keep our masks on for most of the time, but the beauty we went on to encounter was worth it all. There are several trails, and the reds and oranges and yellows of the season are truly marvellous. Just don't forget your water bottle and keep walking along the trails, and you'll be fine.
Beautiful place, nice walk way and a lot of adventure. Young children will enjoy a lot up hill is a good spot for photography will be going back for sure. A good spot near Toronto zoo.
Because I was able to go there and enjoy the beauty of looking at some deer and their natural habitat as small as it is for them what a gift to witness
A blessing for the Torontonians! Rouge Park is a unique wilderness setting in the midst of Toronto. It covers more than 50 square kilometres, following the river valleys and nearby lands of the Rouge River system from the Oak Ridges Moraine to Lake Ontario. Rouge Park provides a continuous ecological corridor in the Toronto Area: combination of natural, cultural and agricultural features including 1,700 species of plants and animals, over 10,000 years of human history, along with some of the best remaining wetlands, forests and agricultural lands in the Greater Toronto Area.
Good winter hiking, walk on the river ice
What a patch of oasis in the middle of the city! Vista trail is an easy hike along an umbrella of trees. It connects to Mast trail where the river is within reach. Let alone the gushing sound is already refreshing, what more wading or dipping in it. A breath of fresh air in heaps and no bounds, that’s the treat to behold in the the beauty that is Rouge Valley.
Quite icy today, but still a beautiful hike
Beautiful well kept parks and trails, but more public washrooms would be nice
Rouge National Urban Park
The place has too few parking spots. Cars were parked on Reesor Rd.. Very dangerous with constant traffic. The trail itself was fine.
It’s a great place for a day out with family and friends. Ideal picnic spot. There’s an observation deck that offers amazing view of the Rouge river down in the valley.
Beautiful place for hiking, running ????????♀️ and so much more to see and enjoy nature.
Trail is flat. Good for seniors too
The trails are varied, well marked and extensive. Great views from many areas. Good amount of parking
Great park with numerous trails for hiking. There are a few hills to give you a little workout. Very convenient being so close to Toronto. Colors are beautiful in the fall.
Lots of different trails with great scenery. A really good place to spend time with families and friends.
I love this park and trail for good tree coverage in the east side of Toronto. It’s easy to find parking. The grassy entrance is perfect for observing birds, wildflowers, and insects. Shortly after you cross the road, you’ll find a creek with crayfish hiding under the rocks. There’s also a giant hill to roll or sled down, or climb up if you’re a training trail runner. Overall just great for its variety and location.
You won't believe you're still in the city, but this is a slice of nature you don't have to travel too far to get too. It's covers a massive area, so take the hold day off if you can to spend some time in nature
Lots to see. Beautiful park, well maintained. It’s a great place for people in the city to have. You don’t even necessarily need a car, you can get to it through transit. In parts, you don’t even feel like you’re in a city. It has expanded quite a bit overtime, so there’s always a different part to explore.
Excellent space. A good amount of trails here. Lots of entry points through different parking lots along the river.
It's in city. Lots of people and small parking lots. Trees turn color and trails are up and down. If you plan to go and go early.
Good place for hiking, lots of trails and beautiful view up from the hill...
Great place to go and see new things and get good photos
I went to th Woodland Day Area. It's not so busy, and very peaceful. Great trails, fairly easy
They have a lot of good hiking trails to explore, a river, a view, a hill and a forest with trees older than me ???? Highly recommend for people who like to hike and explore.
This is where the Rouge River empties into Lake Ontario. And this is where the swans, the geese, and the ducks like to congregate in the pond. Nice and peaceful; until the train passes by. But the fowl don't seem to mind. Lots of birds hang out around here too. The last vestige of nature residing on the precipice of civilization. May it always remain a national park.
I had a good time, only thing I was shocked about was that has been bear sightings. Lovely place to walk and great scenery
My husband's favorite place! I love it too. Great place to find deer.
Great trail. You can choose to go along flat terrain or head down to the river, according to your ability. The whole family enjoyed it.
Lots of Caterpillar. Good trail.
Right behind Toronto Zoo, this is a starting point for a nice hike. Enjoy it with family or just alone.
Great place to hike. Not recommended for strollers though. Quit a bit of hilly terrain.
Enjoyed the fall colors! Had a short walk with family. It was kind of very short, maybe there's a longer trek downhill.
Pretty landscape. We went for a walk near the Zoo Renewable Energy area....I wont ever go back again, I have never been to a hiking space so infested with ticks. One bit my face and I got it off before it latched, and when I got home I put my clothing into the dryer immediately--- there were at least 4 in the lint trap. Warning signs aren't enough to keep people safe from potential sickness. SO many people with animals and kids around likely not fully aware of the issue.
Nice place for a walk or hike. Enough length, not too short or too long. Some rough trail spots make feel work out done.
Nice walk in nice weather
My favorite place to trail walk and I cannot wait for the camp ground to reopen.
Nice place to walk in nature and get some fresh air and having some nice pictures. But fall color is still not at pick. May be next week will be good enough for some nice colors of nature
Great beach view less crowd i like it..
Trails are very muddy at this time. Lots of erosion occurred since last year. Scenery is still sparse.
Very beautiful fall colours in town. Gives a feel of somewhere quite far. The wooden stairs path at the mast trail entrance through glen rouge campground at Kingston rd. Scarborough are also very beautiful. Have been here both in summer and fall and this place never lets you down. Glen Rouge campground is closed for 2020 but the parking lot is open for the mast trail. Beautiful place in GTA for hike lovers!!
This is located right beside the zoo. You park your car ( sometimes it's a bit tough to find parking as it's a popular spot), then you can walk down the main paved road for awhile, and all along that road there are trail openings going both to the left and to the right. Some trails are marked, some are unmarked. There is a river, a lake, and lots of beautiful scenery.
Beautiful park! Lots of vistas, and natural scenery. It contains a great paved recreational/bike trail along the water for the length of the park adjacent to Lake Ontario (part of the Waterfront Trail network) as well as connecting trails along the river that connect into Colonel Danforth park. You never know what wildlife you may spot including deer, swans, racoons and rabbits. I deducted one star because there is limited parking and only one washroom facility in the park.
Awesome place to unwind yourself with your family. Pristine nature to the fullest
Nice view & good to walk.
Great trails with moderate elevation and beautiful views. Kids can do the trails as well.
Beautiful day for a hike even if there was a bit of wind!
I love here
Great view at the top for pictures. Good place to see the sunset. Good hike. 2.5 hrs altogether. Will definitely go again.
Absolutely beautiful! It was my first time going there and it was beautiful, I expected the paved trail to be longer but there are alot of side trails to choose from. Definitely worth the trip.
Take the secret path to the creek. This is the most private way to go
Loved it. It was a adventures experience and felt rejuvenate in the nature's lap.
Clean, spacious, easy trails
Beautiful hike and view is stunning
Nice place to hike in Scarborough/Markham. The park is huge, with several trails. The elevation varies, and the trails cross with the road at several points. There are a few different parking lots, depending which part of the park you want to visit. The main lot off of Meadowvale (where Google maps will take you) is the biggest lot and is located right by the zoo. Nice views, especially in the fall.
Take your kids and go have fun fishing and crabbing
Great place in the warm weather nice and filled with nature. Great to go on walks and a nice place to relax and take your mind off things.
Nice place for trail
Rouge is a great park I only found out about recently through a blog TO article. It took a while to get to and the entrance was somewhat unclear, as was the return bus route. But the park itself was worth the trouble. There are so many trails to discover, all well-marked so you feel able to completely relax. Each trail has unique features and plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities. In the fall it's also a mushroom forager's dream, though do be careful of course. Sparkling waters, rustic staircases and charming bridges make this a great outdoor excursion for anyone.
Nice to go for a walk on the beach and also You can see beautiful White water lilly . Not to forget fishing too. RELAXXXX!!!!!
Beautiful for fall photos and nature hikes
There are three different short trails. You can enjoy hiking with your family or group of friends. I haven't completed any of them, but will go there again and try soon. Parking is free but limited spots.
This place used to be amazing!! One of my favourite places to hike years ago. It was really sad to see that it has not been taken care off. The traffic is incredibly high now and there are many people going there. This results in trash being everywhere. It no longer looks like a park. The ecosystems are ruined, the ground is incredibly trampled everywhere. There is no signs of wildlife etc. (Toronto zoo entrance). Trash is littered all over the place. They should set a system in place where you have to pay a fee to walk the trails and give each person a garbage bag to fill during your walk. When you get back you can get a refund of the entrance fee in exchange for the bag filled with garbage. Installing more garbage bins everywhere will help as well - there were none in sight. This park needs care. If you chose to go here, please take a garbage bag and collect a few pieces of trash along the way.
Every time I go there, there's something new.
Love this place ❤️!! I have hiked here in the summer, fall, and winter and loved it everytime. The trails are very long and can be hiked for any duration. It is also very popular location so it feels nice to see people out and active. This trail was also great in the winter and very busy as well. Would highly recommend!! Great to have something so nice and beautiful and so local to the area. If you live in the east and haven't gone, you should go, great ski year round.
It's a very quiet trail with forestry view. Next trip I will down to the river area
Great place close to the city to get away and reconnect with Nature. I was pleasantly surprised with the hiking trails. The trails were varied between sun and shade and actually some fairly steep inclines in some areas. Excellent day trip, just get there early on nice weekend days as the parking area fills up.
You'll find good scenery if you take your time to explore it.... Small hills, nice forestry and multiple uphill/downhill for hiking. Had to Go multiple times during lockdown and was very enjoyable.
Very nice hike that's right close to the city. Excellent sledding in the winter
Now this is a trail. So many options to choose from. Excellent place for running and hiking!
AMAZING for fall color ????
it was a lovely park from what my friends and I saw.
Absolutely amazing park. Can't believe that this is so close to the city!... Great scenery!.
We went for a hike at this park and we were exhausted, but it was serene and worth it.
One of the best places to go for a hike in fall to see the leaves changing color
Very good QUITE place
This is a great place for a hike or just to get away from "civilization" oasis in the middle of the city!
Beautiful trails, amazing fall colors ???????? This is an amazing urban park. Not very crowded, enjoying the walks fully. Highly recommended.
Mild trails perfect to bring toddler
This park is huge and the trail is really good and well maintained most of the part of the trail is covered with tall trees. There is no fee going to the place and there is a lot of people walking in here.
It is a big park. Be prepare to walk a lot. Not a good place for small kids.
One of the most beautiful places for hiking in Fall.
Very nice park. It's my first time there and at the beginning of the trail, I met two park employees. They both were so nice answering my questions.
We went for a hike along the vista and orchard trails. It was beautiful. Hardly any people so easy to social distance. Saw swans and a beaver among other things.
Nice place for hiking. But do watch out for coyotes. It isn’t safe especially when it’s getting darker. We saw a group of howling coyotes and ended up running our lives outa the park. Super scary. If you have to go there at a later time of the day, go with your friends.
Firts time here nice walking trail you can see a nice view when you reach the top.
Love this park , it’s absolutely beautiful. One star rating for the amount of ticks I found on my dogs!!!! Definitely will not be bringing them back. Wish I read the reviews regarding ticks before hand.
It is a wonderful park, to be in contact with nature and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. You can feel calm after a stressful day.
Nice place nice view but beware of moths
Very nice place for hiking. Scenery would be a lot better in the summer.
Great place for walking, running and just being outdoors. Kids will love it too. There are hills and the ravine. Safe and peaceful park for all, Not to busy because of parking...very smart ????
Beautiful piece of nature close to Toronto
Very nice park in GTA!!!
Many lookout points and nice trail spot, no outdoor washrooms from what I've seen. Large parking lot
This place is huge! Multiple free parkings available around different parts of the park. Lots of trails to choose from. I have only tried the Vista trail as of now but will surely come back for the rest. It has elevated parts and low parts too. There is a 'lookout' to see a good view of the park. Be careful with your young ones as some parts of the path have very steep sides with no barriers. Bring food and water as I did not see any places to buy them from. I did see some remains of a camp fire so I would imagine that you can do a barbecue. Don't quote me on this because I am not 100% sure. It is easy to get lost here so, unless you are a savvy trekker, better stick to the trail and remember where you parked your vehicle. I have seen people with bikes and dogs but I don't think that there is a specified "bike only" area. Some parts of it may be wheelchair accessible but I must remind you that it is a dirt road for the most part. I did not see a lot of animals but there is a sign that says that there may be bears. A saw a few bird watchers there too. It is a very nice place to hike or trek. Lots of open spaces and tree covered areas as well. It has dirt, rock, trees and streams. There's probably a bus route that could bring you close to it and it is in the same way going to the Toronto Zoo. It is a great escape from the bustling life in Scarborough.
I wish people would not leave there trash
Beautiful spot to visit especially during the fall!
Interesting concept to preserve the areas in and around the Rouge Valley. Thankful not everything in this area has turned into subdivisions.
This National park is right at the edge of Markham and Scarborough in the Toronto Zoo area. It's clean and we'll maintained. It's quite a nice area for a relaxing hike or bike ride. It's also a super large area so you can definitely come for revisits without boredom. They also feature little activities like scavenger hunts on their notification board. Definitely give it a visit!
It is a heaven to the nature lovers. Why? go there and experience yourself.
Beautiful place, amazing view, majestic fall colours. Hidden gem within the city.
This Is The Best Place In Pickering To Do Long Walk!!????
Country close to the city. :)
So incredible and large enough to get lost in. Beautiful
This was my first trip to Rouge National Park and its the 2nd day of Spring. The scenery and nature trails are beautiful now ... Can only wait for more warmer weather and go back.
So peaceful and calming. Just what you need for a break from the city.
I really like hiking there, it's very nice and fresh kind of feeling
So blessed to be close to such amazing place.
Beautiful place but people keep littering, leaving dog poo bags and garbage everywhere
We have a good time to watch the snow scenes
Pretty respect ????
What an amazing place to take a hike with the family. And if you want a great workout there is some great elevation changes that will kick your butt. Love it.
Too much debris in the sand on the beach from patrons, bottles, cigarettes, etc. It was concerning since we have a small baby. Water was clean
Beautiful, great trail walks
Nice trail place
not big, but has a beach, could do fishing under the bridge, or birding at the pond.
Beautiful place...specially in Fall
Amazing hiking trail in big city.
Great park for hiking and communing with nature, lots of birds and turtles in the wetlands area and very pretty views
Five. Five ticks. Our dog was on a five foot leash the entire time and we never veered off trail. When we came home we found the first tick on her face. Soon into a good brushing, we found another. After a shower and a scrub, we found one more on the couch and two on the floor. This park is outright dangerous for dogs (even on leash) and I would hazard to guess at least one of those ticks came home on us, so unsafe for families too. AVOID THIS PLACE!
Super big urban park. Nice clean trails. Wide walking space to ensure physical distancing
Best park in Toronto. Feels like up north
Beautiful park. Leaves are starting to change. Must see
Known to be the largest urban park in the world. Near Toronto zoo on the east side of City of Toronto. Provides many nice trails and us very close to the city and highway 401.
Beautiful national park near city. Nice trails, scenic views at different seasons. Watch for ticks.
you know what other people go there and the parking is bad sometimes but also there are leeches and farm where this guys dangerous dogs run around but i love it have live there camping for 3 weeks myself fished and loved it is so local its amazing. <3
Its the Canada’s first and the largest national urban park . The park overlaps the cities of Toronto, Markham and Pickering. You can reach out by car, train, bike and bus. A great place to explore the natural, cultural and agricultural landscapes. Rouge National Urban Park is home to amazing biodiversity. Toronto’s only campground, one of the region’s largest marshes, a beach at Lake Ontario, amazing hiking and bike trails. I was there last weekend for 2 trails, It was colourful and enjoyable. Peaceful meadows and lush wetlands. Parking is available and free.
I really enjoy the beatiful view covered by snow in the morning. It seems like a black &white painting.
Must see. I tried 6 trails which provide you different views!
Wow. A great amenity for all Torontonians. Lots of hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Keep up the great work Toronto!
Good place for hiking ????♂️
Beautiful park and forest. Well maintained and clean
Most of the trails are quite muddy with some that are very slippery due to the rain/snow we had recently. The Vista Trail was quite scenic and busier than I expected for a weekday afternoon.
I walked here when the snow and ice on the water was just starting to melt. The sound of the trickling water under the ice added to the peaceful and sunny afternoon.I will go back again as soon as there is parking available .
A great park , free to use for the most part and really well maintained. Great to see trail direction signs being added throughout. Having done lots of trails I recommend the moderate Vista trail for its stunning views and gorgeous geography.
