We have the information of real people like you who use the products of Riverdale Farm (Zoo) in the area close to Belleville (Canada).
At present this business receives a rating of 4.6 stars out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is practically the highest, and it's based on a very high number of opinions, so we may think that the evaluation is quite faithful. If people have bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo corresponds to the category of Farm.
Haven't been here since my son was small so about 20 years ago. It does seem smaller but it could just be me. But it is a great place to take small children or just go for a walk.
Cute place! ????
People enjoy their time in this park viewing the Toronto skyline. In winter they get the snow sliders and do the sliding when the park filled with snow. The park is busy in Summer time too with people relaxing and enjoying food got from their homes.
Great place to take kids. There are no dogs allowed on the premises. Public bathrooms are available here and at Riverdale park west baseball diamonds just around the corner. Check out the hidden pond near the back of the farm and the pigs are a highlight ????????
Great view of CN tower from here, and it's nice place to have a walk with your dog.
Great place for a family to go out! Kids will enjoy and experience a great sense of nature and have fun with domestic animals: goats, sheep, cows, horses, pigs, rabbits, turkeys, geese, ducks, hens and roosters.
Awesome view and vast playground for players it's perfect for summer Games other then that u can come and meditate viewing beautiful view from top../ And also you can make lots of furry friends ❤
Nice, quiet place to visit. We went to fill some time in Toronto. A lot was closed due to season/construction making the visit a little less fun. However considering it’s free and parking is free I’d say it’s worth a short visit if you are in the area. I’d come back in the summer and likely bump my review to 4* when I see the place fully opened.

Absolutely loved it! My daughter had an amazing time, and most the animals looked well fed and happy, and the farm looks extremely well-maintained. My own issue was with the duck cage. Me and my friend saw a male attacking female, and it looked like the male had been hurting the female for at least a few days because she was missing nearly all the feathers from her back and was bleeding a little. I wonder how nobody has noticed this, and if they have why the two animals haven't been separated. I loved it regardless and will definitely be returning, but I'll also be calling to making sure this is dealt with.
Because of the virus most of the buildings were closed but there were enough animals to keep the four year olds with us interested. It was beautifully maintained. The wading pool is spacious and supervised by park attendants.
My favourite hangout place in city. Love the view of the skyline
A lot of activities for children.
Beautiful park. Strongly recommend!
First time actually going here. Great place to take a lady out kids even. Cows horses, poultry, sheep, goats. So nice, so lovely.
Wonderful place for kids. It also makes for a pleasant walk. The whole farm can be seen in about 30 minutes at a leisurely pace.
Always a great place to go when the kids are antsy. Loved the goats and sheep. Lots of animals and fresh air.
Great place to bring toddlers, especially ones that love animals. Very well kept; washrooms were notably clean (considering it's a farm). Friendly staff are around the farm but are never in the way. Make sure you visit Park Snacks at Winchester and Sumach; poutine is recommended.
Very cute farm in the city ! Great to visit for families and dates
NO EASY TO FIND PARKING, WELL THE VIEW IS PURE TORONTO!!!
Nice place to walk on a nice day but don't expect to see many animals. A few horses and cows as well as chickens goats and 3 pigs. That's it. Nothing else. There is a very nice river view and the park is nice.
Cute little farm with nice options for kids to see farm animals while they are well taken care of. It's free, there is parking available on streets around and is located beside an amazing park, with lots of shades and a nice waddling pool.
The big city's best kept secret little retreat. Fun for both the kids and the whole family to escape the concrete jungle.
An amazing place to have in the middle of a city. If not for the sound of the DVP, you'd think you were in the country. A perfect place to take kids for an hour, and great city run programs too.
It's cute and free/by donation. There are horses, cows, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens. It's a Toronto staple and I am very glad it's still operating considering there is always a fight for funding. Please make a donation!! Sometimes you'll get lucky and you'll see a tiny baby animal!
Cute place in the middle of the city, very well maintained and beautiful.
Beautiful inner city park where I grew up... It was originally called the Toronto Riverdale Zoo before the new zoo opened in the mid-1970s and moved out to Scarborough... Its now the Riverdale farm... Nice small park connected to a larger ecosystem joining west and east sides of the Don River
It's a cute little farm in a quiet part of the city. The little park outside the farm has lots of picnic tables and big trees perfect for sitting under. I wasn't terribly impressed with the number of animals there were given that I had driven 40+ minutes to get there. We spent less time looking at the animals than we did in the car driving one way. I still think it's a cute place to go, especially if you live close by.
Great place for family. It is all FREE. A donation box is located right at the exit of the free farm so please stop and donate so that this can be enjoyed for many more years to come. Thank you Riverdale Farm.
Limited animals and areas currently. Suspect higher rating post covid.
What’s not to like about a farm that is in the middle of the city. We took our toddler here for a stroll and he loved seeing all the animals. There is a path that leads you all around the farm some areas are paved and some have gravel. You can definitely bring your stroller here. We did! Also the farm is right beside Riverdale West Park. Beautiful park with a snack shop located outside the park. Splash pad for the kids.
My son loves seeing the animals and the staff is super friendly.
Amazingly huge green field perfect for picnics and baseball fields to play amongst friends.
Very quaint farm in the city. Great for taking a small child to burn an hour or so. They have a good variety of farm animals and children just love it.
I love this park. Plenty of space. The west side is very quiet.
I've been Riverdale time number of times, and it is spectacular each time irrespective of the weather. It's indeed a peaceful place filled with true colours of nature. On number of occasions, I've seen kids, babies enjoy around animals. The best part is that it's free.
????????magical place full of children artists laughter and our animal friends.. left refreshed and full of positive energy????????
Nice place to take the kids see the animals and walk around. By the entrance there are some activities for the kids and the splash pad is just one minute walking. It worth to go and enjoy a day over there.

Roller skating on Sundays on the ice rink. It's coming to the end because it's getting cold but it was great while it lasted!!
Funny farm and beautiful garden than expected
It's a nice farm in downtown. Takes about 30 minutes to see all the animals. There is not much animals but it's exciting for children. Would recommend it if you live nearby. The outside picnic area and nearby wading pool are also beautiful and give you options to spend some more time there.
Great Park to hang out with friends, and family are someone you love ❤️ also great if you have children for them to have fun playing their is also a petting zoo and on Tuesday the have a farmer market with vendors so their is a lot to do check it out if you have sometime
Lovely place to spend a day.
It is a nice farm, with free entry. I assume, usually, you could have entered barns and be more closer to animals rather than just viewing them in their pen but due to pandemic, it's not an option. Still, great experience particularly for the toddlers. Park next to the farm are great add on to make out picnic out of the farm trip.
A hidden gem in Toronto. Have been going here as long as I can remember. So glad it has managed to stay open after so many years. Great place for kids or just to take a walk.
Very cute farm in the city ! Great to visit for families and dates
The perfect place for toddlers!
Great atmosphere and only minutes from downtown. Four legs good, two legs bad. At one time was the original Toronto Zoo (50 years ago) and my classmate kept shooting spitballs at the monkeys and driving them nuts. I think he later went into policing.
Very nice scenery , the walking is not bothersome, there is lots of places to sit down and enjoy some nice sandwiches , they have animals such as : pigs horses, chickens, bunnies, ducks, geese, turkeys cows and frogs when you walk to the restoration pond
Realized how much if a city girl i am when i had to peer at the cows to figure out if they were horses or not
It was a cute place to take the kids, I have a young child and she loved it. I wouldnt advise it for older children as there are not alot of the typical Zoo animals but this place is a farm and is free, very clean, beautiful flowers and active animals. I believe we saw, Horses. Sheep, cows, chickens, goats, pigs bunnies.
Great place in the city to bring the kids or anyone that's never been on an animal farm. Holidays can be busy and some of the pathways are closed during the Winter, but even those times can be fun; especially if there are newborn animals to view. Washrooms are located in Simpson House or under the Middle Road archway.
Great for kids in the city. My son loves to go there to see all the animals. Good activity for sunny weekends.
The farm is a nice getaway from the city. Its good for family with children or even as simple that you wanna go for a walk/ run along the trails among the trees. I wish they had more on the animals there. Also, the staff was rude. We came here around 4ish and the farm wont close until 5 but the staff ran into us twice at 4.30 and 4.45 and kept telling us to headback because they were closing. It was so annoying
Gorgeous escape in downtown Toronto. It's always a treat to visit the animals, especially the goats. Perfect place to take young city kids who have never seen farm animals up close, but also for adults looking to do something different in a more natural setting.
Very cute and well maintained, great for kids or just for a stroll!
A hobby farm+park in the city in a beautiful neighborhood. It’s free and open year round. Great for young kids and families. There is parking in the residential streets and also parking lot but not so many spots. Great in fall
Such a nice beautiful place to walk around in with the family
A wonderful place to visit... especially on family excursions. Always nice to see the animals and chickens on site. Just heard on the news that little Juniper is missing. I pray that she is found safely....
Was of Toronto's many hidden gems. Free entry. Great for kids. Lots of animals. Don't miss the trail down to the river valley!
Great way for city people to see & pet the animals, as I see them most days back in Cornwall England.
Mostly closed due to Covid protocol.
Could be more animals out and more to pet
Fun and free! Very clean. Not really a petting zoo, but can reach through gates to touch pigs, goats, and horses. Also, free wading pool next door knee deep.
Didnt go to Riverdale Farm. Not sure google keeps asking me.
Great jem in the city with lots of shady spots and wonderful animals to view for all ages. Also there is a pretty great splash pad right outside the gate to keep little ones cool once they learn new animal noises!
It's very tiny but very well maintained, it's a walk through. More for people trying to take nice insta pics more than a fun place for the kids. Granted we're in November probably more in the summer. We will try again next year. All in all cute little walk.
It's not so bad
Great place to visit with kids! Pig and chicken barn was closed but we got to see cows, horses, goats and lambs.
Visited a while ago and was super chill to hang around animals. Haven't been inside since covid hit.

It is an urban farm, in the middle of the city. It is great for kids who haven't had the chance to see farm animals. It is located close to a wadding pool which is a plus for the kids. I registered my son for their week summer camp and he loved the experience. I totally recommend!
Great for kids, I wish they didn't close at 5 pm.
Literally a farm within the heart of the city. One of Toronto's more unique attractions. Entrance is totally free and they have a wide range of animals is all of which are super well cared for. Excellent place for kids!
Small selection of animals to excite kids of all ages
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! What a gorgeous farm, right in the city of Toronto. Great place to visit alone or with family. The animals are happy and healthy. Very clean and well kept farmland. Great place for a quick visit or a full family day. They offer a spectacular picnic area with a wonderful view. The sounds, smells, and visual appearance are as authentic as you could expect.
This farm is such a hidden gem for all families within Toronto, has so much to see and things to do, it's truly worth the visit. From goats and sheep to cows and horses, dogs, chicken, and turkeys, you will not be dissappointed. There is a good ice cream store on the corner which is always busy during the summer. Very good weekend event for kids.
Great environment, great place to work out, or hang out on the hills while watching an amazing sunset with the city's skyline in the background
Awesome free activity offered by the city. The programming is always very well done and the boo barn is an event the neighborhood looks forward to every year.
Good place to visit with your kids. They don't have place to eat or drink, bring yours.
I loved going to Riverdale Farm as a child and now get to share that experience with my two boys. It's a nice way to spend the morning and the kids have fun seeing the animals. Highly recommended.
An isle of calm, fun and cuteness in the middle of Toronto. Treat yourself go visit.
You can watch the sunset. And the downtown skyline. You can take pictures. Play around and skate.
Relaxing, fun, large park. Great for reading, using the track, working out, or a picnic with friends/family. Bring your dog so I can look at it/maybe pet it!?
Nice farm in the middle of the city
It is small, but very nice and family friendly.
An historical old rural farm in the middle of the city. Relaxing to see the animals and be amongst the nature.
Tonnes of green space, you are easily able to sit in the park and maintain social distancing. The uphill climb is perfect for a solid cardio workout.
Great to visit with children. Also hood for walks.
Whattttt! I loved it! I'm fairly new to Toronto... so I'm still discovering the city. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT that in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the city you could find such a PEACEFUL and GORGEOUS piece of land? If you love animals, farms, the smell of manure... GO TO RIVERDALE FARM! (I didnt take pictures because I was too happy to ruin it with technology)
Great for kids and adults young at heart. The barn donated from Markham is beautiful and the grounds are well taken care of. So happy went with the girls.
Nice if you have kids and want to show them the different animals from the farm.
Very cute & cozy place to take the kids. My kids absolutely loved it!
Great place to visit
Today, January 31st 2021 walking down the steps into Riverdale Park West and looking in through the fence I seen a building I have never noticed in 10 years of living here in Cabbagetown. I'm so interested in finding out more of what it is. Love our evening walks around Riverdale Park and the farm. We have been in Cabbagetown for almost 10 years and over this time have spent more time in this area than our own yard. Sharing some old photos from a past company I owned. Think these are 8 years old. Enjoy
Simple with top view of Toronto skyline
I had a great day in this place with my husband! We walked a lot, saw the lovely animals and flowes and had a picnic there! I would love to visit it again whenever I'm in Toronto.
I was so saddened to hear about the baby goat named Juniper being taken. I remember taking my son to Riverdale Farm on so many occasions, and the joy the animals would bring him. The animals are well taken care of, and you will notice right away how content they are to freely roam. I think now their needs to be security cameras up and around different areas of the farm to protect and keep the animals safe. I think the City of Toronto needs to better invest in Riverdale Farm, so these types of crimes never happen again.
Bring the little kids to watch the cows, horses, pigs, goats, rabbits.
Awesome litte hidden Toronto secret. Great for the kids. No dogs allowed though.
Great place for kids (Toddlers) lots of space to run around. And in summer they open the splash pond.
This place is amazing, if you want to go for hiking, biking. Its also good place place for kids, there is farm inside the park, its open till 6pm. Kids would love to see the animals.
I ran past this place on my weekend jog and was pleasantly surprised to find a full blown animal farm! The animals seem quite content and are well taken care of. This place looks like something you might find in a Disney movie, it's simply that magical and quaint. This is a great spot for a date or catching up with an old friend.
COVID19 restrictions affected the experience a bit but toddler had fun
Small farm but very nice, worth a visit. I'd recommend especially for families. Little kids will definitely enjoy it!
For the kids and kids at heart, a great little oasis in the city to reconnect with nature and a bit of farm life.

It was surprising to find a full fam tucked away in the middle of the city. Cool to see all the animals, though a lot of the pens were empty. There are washrooms onsite. At the moment it is a one way trail, though can get a little crowded towards the end.
A fun place to be. Safe & easy access. Gentle farm animals.
A nice park and urban zoo with cows, miniature pigs and other farm animals.
As a tourist attraction, there isn't really much to see - there are some animals, and during festival events, there are activity stations which school age children seem to enjoy. However; it is also completely free. There are no admission costs, corporate sponsorships or any cash grabs to take away from the experience. As a low cost outing for young ones to see animals, it is tough to beat and is one of the best public parks in the city.
I'm not a big fan of zoos, but it's hard to not enjoy this animal oasis in the middle of the city. Not to mention ... it's free! Great activity with the kids and way to get them outside. The park and surrounding area adjacent to Riverdale Farm is also lovely.
Cute farm! The animals are very well taken care of
I like to walk from where we live, on Don Mills Road, down the ravine and the lower Don Trail, to Riverdale Park. The farm is readily accessible from the footbridge crossing the Don River, and it's nice to wander around enjoying the various farm animals. Afterwards, it's easy to walk back across the footbridge to Riverdale East Park, and up to the Rooster Coffee House.
Very sweet surprise in the heart of the city, the animals were lovely!
Animals look cool.
We visited for the Halloween activities - free entry, but a donation is suggested. My 4yo son loved the "Boo Barn"; the children were given a torch (flashlight) and walked through the spookily decorated barn. There was an extra fright waiting near the end... Not all the decorations were fake! The kids got a lolly at the end. Next stop was the pumpkin patch; my son chose a pumpkin and we received tools and a stensil to make our traditional Halloween craft. A handwashing station was included - and necessary! Another area of the farm had a play area with toys (shoes to be removed) and Halloween decoration making. The farm itself is quaint and spread over a steep set of hills. Pigs, ducks, geese, turkeys, chickens, horses, sheep, goats and cows are to be found. There is a building with toilets and a café near the main entrance. A lovely little farm with friendly, helpful staff.
Beautiful place to visit in summer not winter.
Really enjoyed this cute little farm with our toddler. She loved seeing all the animals, including horses, sheep, cows and pigs. Small area so take your time walking through it. Entry is free, and there was no line up when we went. There is a nice park nearby, with a splash pool if you want to relax afterwards.
Visit nature within city. Its a great place if you want to take a quick break from city chaos
One of my favorite spots in the city. Great for families with kids
Awesome place to wander around and see the animals in the city! Lots of free street parking as a bonus and great picnic tables in the park outside of the farm.
Here with my 2 year old. Good experience seeing farm animals. We showed up without a stroller but a stroller would work on most trails here.
A good place to walk by and see some farm animals. Due to pandemic, the big trail that's in middle of the forest is off limits, which really sucked, so all you can see is the very small farm place. I've been here before the pandemic and the trail in my opinion was the main attraction. Hopefully it opens soon!
I mainly visit to walk my dog. Plenty of green space and a great trail that keeps you away from the concrete jungle of the city. There are plenty of dogs in the area so lots of opportunity to mingle your pup with other pups.
I love this place but it looks kinda abandoned, all the pretty building are closed and full of dust, the ponds are dirty (there is no birds or fish living inn it), there's old and rusty picnics table abandoned in the trails Is definitely a place that is potentially wasted, It can be much more There's nothing I can said about the animals, they all look healthy and happy
Cute animals that u usually don't see in everyday life especially in the city. Bumbed out of the fact that half of it was closed but understandable I guess. I got to pet many of them but be cautious if u decide to
Great to be here.
Had fun bringing my daughter here to see the animals. It’s run by the city and it’s free, but you can give a donation at the gate if you wish. They did a really great boo barn for Halloween too!
Love it here! It's great for scenic walks. It's also well kept so you don't have to worry about getting dirty. Great for families, couples or solo explorers.
wonderful place to spend time with kids. Also the large area and calm atmosphere is appropriate for adults to spend some quite time
The Riverdale Farm is an incredibly historic place to visit in the 6 ✌ Located in Toronto's Cabbagetown Village; it was first used as a zoo ???? in the early 1900s. After the zoo closed and was relocated to Scarborough; Riverdale Farm was established ???? Here you will find cows, pigs, horses, goats and an array of other farm animals ???????????? Perfect for kids (and kids at ❤) Spring is a wonderful time to visit and see the baby animals ????
I always love going to Riverdale Farm with my family. It's a little time capsule to a simpler time nestled right in the middle of the city. It's never super busy, it has ample bathroom facilities and there's a terrific little snack bar to the west of the park. The meeting room is also great for parties.
Great park for children, has a couple of barns with animals you can go in, a play room that is sometimes open, small trails and a tiny island you can explore. Splash pad is open in the summer.
Riverdale is a family must when visiting Cabbagetown. The farm has lots of walking space and a few animals to see. My toddler loves the open field outside the farm and gets a kick seeing sheep and cows in the city. If you visit in the summer you'll have the added bonus of the splash pad.
Perfect place for younger children. (About up to 10yrs) Small farm experience, they are offering some craft and art class as well, it was worth to sign up the kidos years ago, when they have made Christmas gifts for us. You can also have a short walk in the nature.
Lovely place to visit, with family and friends, nice place for kids and school picnics.
a great place to experience sled skiing
Loved the horses! Ponds need a little more care.
Amazing farm. Friendly staff, great animals.
Fun stroll to check out the animals - horses, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs. Nice butterflies. Lovely garden surrounding Simpson House. Farmer demo 11:30-12:00. Activities and camps for kids. 10 minute walk from Parliament Street if taking public transit.
Good finds
Meh! It's alright
Momentum Montessori students love visiting the little zoo in our neighborhood park. Lots to explore in the world of Flora and Fauna, a well-maintained farm. We usually take a small walk around the farm it's so nice that you forget you are in a city.
Unfortunately, there’s not much to see here. It’s a lot like going to the zoo. It sounds like a good idea conceptually. But when I got there, I just felt sorry for all the animals trapped inside with a bunch of screaming kids.
People enjoy their time in this park viewing the Toronto skyline. In winter they get the snow sliders and do the sliding when the park filled with snow. The park is busy in Summer time too with people relaxing and enjoying food got from their homes.
This is a lovely area to go for a walk. There's picnic tables and the animals are cute. Lots of shade, and somehow always seems to have a breeze which helps make even the sunniest days bearable. Often crowded with families and small children so patience can be important.
This place is a little gem in the heart of the city. Either full of activity, or peaceful. Highlights include the snuggling piglets (they get a new set of them every fall) and gobbling turkeys.
Farm history preserved - popular with school groups and families
Lots of fun for families with small children. Lots of animals to see and places to explore. Plenty of trials to run and enjoy the weather. My 2yr old loved it! Super toddler friendly.
Amazing unique Park/Garden/Farm with lots of cool wonderfuul animals ????????❤️♥️
Great places for animal sketching~ it's free but feel free to donate at the door.
This is one of the most beutiful places in Toronto. My kid loves watching the animals there. Plus, there is a changing table in the washroom what was quite a surprise for me because even some big restaurants have problem with it. Next to the farm there is a big park where you can enjoy the fresh air and the quiet neighbourhood.
A Awsome Beautiful Place With Lots Of Adourable Animals.
The animals looked kinda sad but it was nice to visit a farm like setting in the middle of the city.
It's a very nice place to visit with kids. My two year old loves the farm animals and the Mallards in the pond. Last time we spotted a turtle too.
Small collection of animals(sheep, hens, horses) . Good place to take kids
Amazing little farm not far outside from the city. Fun place to see cows, horses, goats, pigs, sheep.
Amazing experience even in winters
Very beautiful park.
Nice view of sunset near 6am . Best place for peace
Great place
Great view as always. A great spot to sit and read, drink or eat!
Revisited riverdale from since I was in middle school not much to say besides it's starting to age and is no longer in its prime
A park and farm animals in the middle of the city? Are you kidding me? Awesome!
Nice and good place for the kids. Best to go a little early in the day.
Amazing views of Toronto downtown from here
A fantastic, hidden gem in the heart of Toronto that is worth the visit for anyone with children. Formerly the Toronto Zoo in days of yore, it is now the only working farm in downtown Toronto. It has your basic farm animals, but also programs for children that run at different points of the year. This spot is wheelchair accessible, though there are some hills involved, and some are on a greater incline, so having a second person to help is definitely recommended if the wheelchair is manual. All in all, a great spot for kids, or anyone out on a walk in the neighbourhood.
Really nice after snow. A lot of places are blocked in the winter. No smell:)
Really nice after snow. A lot of places are blocked in the winter. No smell:)
Great for rc testing, drone photography and even tobogganing in the winter. Great for cute picnics in the summer, or the best spot for smoking a blunt
Love everything about this place!
This is a great place for kids! We saw horses, cows, goats, chickens, pigs, sheeps. We had a nice time there.
Good farm experience without having to go into the country
Beautiful place. Lower gate is locked
I live in "Cabbagetown," an historic neighbourhood in downtown Toronto which has Parliament Street as its centre. Walk less than 15 minutes east of Parliament Street, along streets lined with a mix of mid- and Late Victorian and grander Edwardian houses, and you'll reach Riverdale Park West and Riverdale Farm at the very edge of the ravine that leads down into the Don Valley. This is a real, working farm, with some of the buildings dating from the Victorian era and a rare type of barn which was moved here from north of the city. The real joy of Riverdale Farm, for adults and especially for children, is to meet the animals. There's a pig barn, and in the summer you can gasp at the sight of mother sow and piglets contentedly lolling in mud. In the spring you can see new born baby goats and lambs in the barns, and there are also hysterically funny chickens and turkeys in another barn, not to mention bunnies. (Yes, I'm a grown man and I just said "bunnies." I make no apology.) When the weather is fine in late spring and summer, the animals are outside, doing their cow / horse / donkey / kid / chicken thing. Did I mention ducks? A great corrective for people who think food comes from a styrofoam packet and a place whose earthy, extremely pungent farm odours take you back to an earlier time when food production wasn't a business and "animal husbandry" was a real term. Visiting Riverdale Farm is some of the best of Toronto: a delightful, educational outing any time of year. It's good for the soul.
Great place for kids and Cabbagetown is beautiful.
There are sheeps and pigs, and there is the farm environment provided. People can go for free and visit. It is a splendid city farm, with farm animals. It is also wonderful, as it is located near Riverdale park and it is near children's playground.
My son loved this farm today. There are some farm animals you would enjoy to watch. Street parking available. I would like to go there again next time.
V large park. Beautiful place. Didn't have much time otherwise would have walked along the scenic discovery route... Next occasion ????
As a kid I've always wondered about the hype around this place. It's a good place to go as a kid, I'm surprised I've only been here once now that I'm older with my baby nephew, considering I was born in the cabbagetown neighborhood. Kinda like living around high park and never going to high park not quite to that extent but yeah.
It was a nice day to visit but we didn't get to see to many animals. Some were feeding and relaxing in the shade.
Not too busy. Good social distancing. Beside a park and wading pool to have a nice picnic.
A nice farm with some rustic buildings for walking and hanging out. I feel really lucky living so close to the farm
It was exciting day. Full of fun.
An amazing gem in our city! We come here as a family quite often. Our kids love it. Today, my son who is 2 years old an incredible experience with farmer Michelle. Michelle was so terrific with him. letting him help her with sweeping. She was incredibly patient and talked to him about the animals and the tractor. He was her little shadow for the morning. Thank you.
What a lovely and relaxing place to go with family to look at farm animals. My kids loves this place. It a lovely place to spend few hours exploring farm life ????
I absolutely love this place! It's small, it's charming, and it's great for couples or families. You learn a great deal about animals as well as interact with them. It's a great place to go to for any occasion!
Beautiful place for a casual walk
An excellent green space!! A very outstanding choice for being outdoors!
We like the fact that this place is free. It is more suitable for walking than playing. If you love nature, it will be a good place!
Decent place to take young kids to kill some time. A bit sparse on animals, would be more enjoyable if there were more to see!
Great place to go with kids
One of my favourite places in the city. Underutilized. Great place for young kids & its free. The only thing missing is a lunch/snack place within the farm. The cafe serves cookies, drinks and sometimes other food, but not enough to rely on for grabbing lunch or feeding a snack to a kid. There is a private cafe, with outdoor seating only across the street from the park, open seasonally. Also tonnes of picnic table within the farm if you pack a lunch.
Of course Riverdale Farm is a must! Whether with family or looking for a walk on your own. Quaint and rural/rustic layout with farm animals to visit and trails to walk. Especially beautiful in the fall! Usually has activities to view or partake in. Lots of great photo ops!
Nice little farm in the city. Only need 30 minutes to go through it but nice place to take kids to run around. They have chickens, turkey, pigs, goat, cows and horses. Try the food place across the street- great fries!!
Small farm with few animals...good that it's in city and kids can have feel. But due to covid we can not go near animals but still a good place to visit with kids for sometime. We loved the park surrounding the farm and the trail that runs alongside. Worth walking on the trail and good place to hang out with friends and family in the nearby park/playground. Good views and good to see fall colours too
Nice to walk around. Great place to take kids to see farm animals like horses, pigs, goats, etc. Is a little farm in the city so don't expect too much from it. Various seating areas so go ahead and bring snacks. There's a decent sized park right in front of the farm and ppl have large bbqs and picnics there all the time. There's even a farmer's market set up in this park. The farm has hills and gravel pathways so dress appropriately and use proper strollers or whatever. Lots of family and kids around but plenty of adults go for a leisurely walk here too. Lots of trees so it's very cool on a hot day.
I love this beautiful place! It is a jewel in this city, with gorgeous gardens, so many animals, historic barns and an incredible sense of peace and tranquillity. One of the best places in Toronto to take kids!
Beautiful place in the city. Especially enjoy it when they have the art and craft fairs around it. Wish they had a more working type farm so you could buy fresh eggs or milk...or even ride the horses. Brings back memories of the old zoo. Lucky to have this in the neighborhood.
It is a very nice place. I will definitely go again. The keep the placw very clean.
Nice quiet green space on the perimeter of the downtown core
This point provides good spellbound view of the great city of Toronto. Have a lash green ground and hilly slide where people can lay and take a sunbath and good rest. Good place for the love birds. I recommend to the visitors to come here and save the pic of Toronto city for their memorable visit of Canada.
Great park. Lots of options to chose from depending on what your looking for. There's shaded tree areas by the farm. Or open space for sun and fun down the hill.
Great park with a nice big hill. Riverdale farm has a bunch of animals, and there is a splash pad. Ice cream at a corner shop too!
This is a great place to check out online animals and take in nature completely for free in the middle of the city! I love the sheep the most
Great place. Friendly staff and amazing walk
Sadly I can only give this an average rating. It is much beloved but I don't know why. There are not many animals. They usually are taking shelter far from the fences. It's 'free' but there is a donation box at the entrance making you feel guilty if you walk in. I have tried taking my 2 and 4 year old there three times and they have never enjoyed it. And, bizarrely, the park next door has no playground. It has a wading pool open only 2 months a year. So there is no fallback if the kids don't enjoy the animals. The 'far away' free zoo on Toronto island is far better. My kids always enjoy that. I give them an 'A' for effort. The staff is nice but there is not much there there - especially given how so many parents and teachers give it such high praise.
Really nice for an outing with kids. Really nicely maintained :)
Great place to visit some animals in the middle of the city. We visit this farm often with our kids and they always have a blast. The farm has a few pigs, goats, chickens, and more. The entire farm would probably take you 30 minutes to walk through but there’s a nearby park that can easily turn your 30 minutes into a nice afternoon. There are public washrooms onsite but no place for snacks / food so make sure you pack something for the kids :)
Pretty cool to find something like this so close to downtown Toronto.
Awesome place for toddlers - why learn about it in books, when you can see, hear and smell the barnyard for yourself! ;)
My family loved it! Must visit place in Toronto. Quite a bit of walk, but the atmosphere is very relaxing.
My family loved it! Must visit place in Toronto. Quite a bit of walk, but the atmosphere is very relaxing.
My Wonder years!! An amazing little farm in the big city...which seems frozen in time!! Please stay forever!!
The only place in Toronto with love pigs that kids can go see; this is currently under construction (winter 2018) so do look for an updated review this summer. No entry cost but there is a donation machine at the entrance. Picnic tables throughout and a good place to bring a take out lunch. Good TTC access.
Nice little place in the middle of Toronto. Has a few farm animals to look at (horses, pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, rabbits). Also has a nice wading pool (in the summer months). Great place to take the kids.
Cute little farm with cute animalds and a beautiful view looking onwards to the highway, and Riverdale park. The garden in the summer is beautiful filled with assortments of flowers and maintained well.
My dog loves to drag me on Carlton street until we reach there ????
Totally unimpressed with the barn help. Not one nice or helpful comment. Had a small group of students over on Thursday afternoon. We felt like we were an imposition. Bad vibes! I wouldn't return if they paid me.
What's not to love? Animals. Nature. Very loud children yelling at animals. Okay the last thing's not great but if you have kids the farm is a great place to bring your kids if they like yelling at animals.
The wadding pool is currently under construction. Its official they are putting in a splash pad. The farm is open.9am to 5pm Paths have steep hills however they are stroller friendly. The farmers market is open tuesdays 3 til 7pm. Although its closing soon for the 2018 season. There are 12 vendors today. Selling veggies, cheeses, fresh callou, some awesone farm raised and organic sausages also hidden in amongst the vendors too. Theres another vendor with a delicious pot of curried lentil and roasted squash soup. Plenty of picnic tables set up to relax n enjoy riverdale park on any day.
Great location with a secluded view of the downtown core. The hill between the street and the activities is a little long, but it does lead to a spacious field for soccer, baseball and any other games you want to play.
One of my favourite places to come for a walk!
Great place for a walk.
Beautiful farm but small, where children can see various farm animals. Some places are closed due to COVID-19.
Wonderful people wonderful park
Great place to hang out and just walk around right next to the farm zoo.
It was exciting day. Full of fun.
Love Riverdale farm so much! Such a great place in the heart of cabbagetown. Live farm animals and great picnicing, it's the perfect place to brings kids over and over for a light aftnoon trek - totally accessible without a car too
Great place to take picture of downtown Toronto(skyline).
Great place to take the kids.
Free to enter but ask for donations. Nice walks around the site and your usual farmyard animals to see.
Beautiful view of Toronto Skyline. Nice place to do some exercise and to enjoy the weather.
One of my favourite places in the city. Whether you have kids or just someone special you want to walk around with, this place never disappoints.
Kids love watching animals
Loved the horses! Ponds need a little more care.
A great place to bring young kids in the middle of the city. It's free! Lots of park space immediately adjoining it for running around, picnic, playing and in the summer there is a wading pool just steps away from the entrance in the park.
Nice cute place, free entry which is always nice but I recommend donating to help the far every time you visit. It's a beautiful place right in downtown
Been going there since I was 5! And I’m 41 now. It’s maintained its charm. The staff are great. And it’s amazing nostalgia. Love the Halloween events ;)
Awesome place to visit with your family in summer time when no covid exist. Otherwise, be wise but always remember to support your local farms
Small farm just west of the Don Valley River. See and learn about the cows, goats, chickens & horses that live on the farm all year round. Lots of great city programs also run out of the buildings around the property. Great way to spend a few hours in the city and explore the property.
A real farm inside Toronto with horses, cows, ducks, turkeys, chicken. It is very funny for small children. They will have some ideas how food is produced and their importance to the environment.
What's not to love? Little farm in the big city. Kids love it, splashpad right outside - large open field, cute corner stores. City classic!
This place is best for sunset. You can take a blanket from home and sit on upper side and see the skyline of downtown along with sunset. The colors and building both give you goosebumps. For me this place is one of the best places to calm your mind. I can think of myself without any distraction. If you're photography lover you can make timelapse or hyper lapse by putting camera on tripod.
A beautiful park nestled in the Don Valley. The park extends both sides of the river and is joined by a foot bridge. On one side there is a huge open park area with picnic tables and plenty of space to relax. On the other side of the bridge there's a second huge open green space with a baseball diamond and Riverdale Farm at the top of the hill. The farm has many different animals, clean facilities, and is absolutely free. There is some street parking available on both sides, but get there early as it gets busy in the warmer months.
Good place for an evening walk.
Adorable and unique urban farm run by the City of Toronto. Expect the typical range farm animals, housed outside in fenced off enclosures or in a barn. Hilarious chickens and goats. Probably great with kids.
A cute, free place to take a stroll the park attached would be a great spot for a Sunday picnic.
One of my favorite Toronto spots...features cows, sheep, goats, cows, horses, chickens, turkeys and roosters. Great, free spot to walk around with kids. Visitors are asked to provide donation if possible . Parking is free, on-street nearby. There is an early years centre in the heart of the farm with drop in programs (see city of Toronto website).
A real chill place to visit. It's a small farm with a couple of horse-like animals, moo-cows, loud geese, chickens and sheep. The park it's beside is great! The farm would take 30 mins max and the park is good and big. Let the kids run and frolic. Bring your own food. There's a nice little take-out place on the corner, but it is a long wait if there's a long line.
I love Riverdale Farm; a demonstration farm in the middle of a large city and a great place for families to come and learn how things were on a working farm. If you live in the neighborhood you wake up to the sound of roosters and cows. Lots of fun events from milking demonstrations to a Christmas Eve nativity scene with live actors.
On a Sunday there are tons of families having fun. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Weekdays it's more quiet and you can walk around and see the animals at your leisure.
Beautiful ????
Great park with tons of space for plenty of social distancing. Since there aren't as many people, the public bathrooms are much nicer.
It’s a city maintain free to entry park, farm animals, nice building n scenic places , picnic place (you can book), street parking
A showcase farm in downtown Toronto with cows, pigs, horses, goats, sheep, chicken, ducks, rabbits, etc. Free to visit. A great outing for families on the weekend. Highly recommended spot for families. In the winter the huge hill on the South side of the farm is perfect for tobogganing.
I really like bringing the small kids to Riverdale farm. The staff are friendly and are always willing to stop and chat if we have questions. We were sad when the donkey "left" and we love the noisy turkey!! Its deffinately a place where you'd just spend a couple of hours. I'd really wish they would finish off the restrooms and maybe put in a small cafe during the summer months, id stay longer then.
Nice walk and a relatively safer area
Nice view. Not popular but, worth to visit.
Lovely animals. Great experience.
Imagine a farm right in the city?! It truly is a beautiful place filled with lots of learning opportunities. With so many city children never having a chance to see what a farm really truly looks like this is an amazing opportunity. It used to be the location of the Toronto Zoo until a much bigger location opened in the 1980’s.
Amazing location for a afternoon walk with the pup!
Plenty of animals and plants for my children (4, and 2) to enjoy. We spent about an hour at the farm just looking at the sights. Bonus: a cup of lemonade is just $0.50 in the main house with restrooms.
I love this farm. Its quaint and picturesque but lack of funding from the City really has reduced what it once was. There use to be so many animals and fun activities for kids and family. The gardens are wonderful and a good hike for anyone crossing the Riverdale valley. Bike paths through and access is closed nightly. Washrooms are on site but some spaces aren't exactly wheelchair friendly due to the age and nature of the farm. So worth walking by.
Nice and relaxing place to visit, especially with kids.
Have portion of the area a quiet place to meditate read and self stretch exercise during the day.
Riverdale farm is set up as a turn-of-the century hobby farm. It has all the standard farm animals: horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs and assorted poultry. It's a great spot to bring the kids, especially the littler ones. Lovely gardens as well. Go when when the tulips are blooming for the greatest effect. And best of all, it's free.
An amazing place near the heart of the city. Well maintain, free entry, heritage breed beautiful animals and a nearby splash pad. Can't say enough about how lucky the city is to have it (and that Ford didn't get toshut it down). Take the family and enjoy the near by ice cream shop and church yard as well.
Riverdale Farm is open all year long and doesn't charge any entrance fee. You can observe some beautiful farm buildings as well as farm animals like turkeys, sheep and chickens. This place is particularly intriguing for infants and young children. Visiting the farm takes between thirty to sixty minutes. Restrooms are available but everything else is closed during the ongoing pandemic at the farm.
Quaint little farm in the middle of the city. Kids enjoyed seeing all the farm animals. Right near Riverdale Park with a wading pool and across the street is the Necropolis.
Lots of animals to see, and the grounds are wall kept. There are chickens, cows, goat, and many more interesting farm animals to see. There are also paths that you can take some of the most beautiful pictures in the city.
Loved the place, little sense of farm life in the city.
Beautiful city view calm and refreshing.
Peaceful place with amazing skyline view
A piece of country-side right in the middle if the city. This is a fun farm place for families. Can easily spend around 1.30 hours watching and petting farm animals and enjoying picnic.
Nice park. Free entrance. Connects discovery walk trail. Bridge over the highway. Fun for kids. Water Toilets.
Open space with shade. Good for kids with the splash pad. Biking. Picnic. People watching. And the animal farm.
I was amazed by seeing so many different types of domestic animals in the middle of the city!
One of the best parks in the city. The corner shop that sells ice cream is a favorite and you can always find a bench to relax
Few animals but diverse enough in a free\by donation farm. Nice to visit once not more.
It's a mini farm like how cute is that and the animals are adorable ????
Love this place. Not only a farm they have a great little trail through the ponds, a slash pad and a picturesque cemetery and little tiny church right across the street.
Beautiful place to go for a walk or to take your kids. Lots of animals lots of grass space for a picnic. Great place to learn about farms and animals. Great place for a school field trip. Lots of various activities to do here, check their schedule. Warning... Be prepared for a mix of city and farm smells, and place is unfortunately under funded but it is amazing.
Fantastic green, lovely place in the middle if Toronto
Lovely place for young children to see farm animals
Good place to visit
Great family fun in the city with no admission fees. Not as many animals as you would see in a farm outside the city, but you would have to drive pretty far out to get a similar experience. Lots of street parking around and not that busy, even on Saturday afternoon on Labour Day weekend, which was a pleasant surprise. Only takes about 30 minutes to go through the whole thing if you're taking your time, so if you're making a trip just to go, I would have some additional activities planned near by to make it worth the effort.
Favorite place
This 'farm' has a small petting zoo and legit establishment that I have seen closed since the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is a connecting park with lots of green space that connects to Cabbagetown on one side and Riverdale Park West on the other. Great park for families, dogs and general greenery/fresh air.
Lovely place to take young children even during COVID. Wasn't too crowded during the day (around 11:30am on a Wed). My toddler got to see animals in a working farm and had lots of great questions afterwards. There is a single direction, signage to remind people to keep 6ft apart, and in the barn arrows on the floor to help space visitors out. Washrooms are also open.
Beautiful
A great park with a live-animal farm attached. Good for a trip with the family, or to just wander alone. It's great to see animals like cows and sheep while still being in the city.
Awesome free activity to checkout! Great farm for the kids to see some farm animals ranging from pigs to goats and lambs and horses! Really great area to visit in Toronto!
A beautiful and small park to recreate
Love it here! Located in a great neighborhood this is one of the cities hidden gems. A few animals, paths and some nice gardening make Riverdale Farm a great spot to check out. The only downside is the farm closes at 5pm. Wish it would stay open just a little longer in the summer.
Great place for all the family. Well kept animals and their housing. Always clean. Small Sandwich store close by. They used to have one in the farm not sure if its seasonal.
Located at a hectic place like downtown, this farm and the neighbouring open field provides peaceful and relaxing time for walking with your friends, dogs or jogging alone. Farm has horses, cows, ducks and other domestic animals to ponder at.
Great place to take the family. The park beside it is very spacious and the water feature is nice for the kids during the summer.
Been before COVID, used to be much better. The barns are currently closed which means there's only horses, cows & some sheep to look at. The baby animals, the fowl were all unavailable in an already small park which was disappointing. Bathrooms are clean.
Great place to visit. FREE
My 1st time there. Small but good for a quick outing with the kids.
The barn, chicken coop, the lower part of the farm and all the buildings are closed. Three of the animal pens are empty. If I'd know the I would have waited until covid was gone to visit Riverdale Farm
Didn't even see a whole sheep.
Love the animals there
What a fine day it was for a stroll in the park, indeed! However, I must make reviewers cognizant of the fact that there are absolutely no dragons, Komodo or otherwise. Riverdull farm, I tip my well-fitted cap to you, but perhaps heed my suggestions of exotic animals.
A beautiful little asset to the city that offers small insight to farmlife. A collection of lovely animals and some barns to explore. And adjacent Riverdale park offers lots of green space and a wading pool for children. Only street parking is available but most of it is no charge if you can find a space.
Due to Corona we did not get to see much animals. From what I see it a nice place to visit with your family or love one. I wish I could of see more. Alot of area were block off. But nice.
One of my favourite stops in the city when walking or jogging through Riverdale park. The animals are open to the public, and if you can get past listening to never ending questions from parents to their children regarding the sound a pig or chicken makes, it's a lovely oasis within the city.
Easy to navigate with kids. Clean (as clean as a farm can be). And the park just outside the farm is perfect!
Excellent place for the whole family. Friendly staff ????????????????????
It's a quite place where u can connect with nature and enjoy your time. Good for hangouts with friends or going on a special date. Also, your dogs will appreciate hanging out there.
Almost forgot that I'm still in Toronto. Lovely little place.
Amazing place for running / cardio , different sports, family friendly environment, great trail for running, cycling and walking.
Nice little farm in the middle of the city.
Nice little park. It is closed at these times. We walked by it and saw the sunset for this spot. Looks nice and great sunset spot.
A farm within a Beautiful park. Didn't get to see many animals may be because it was in the middle of winter?? Nice area and good place to take kids too.
A farm within a Beautiful park. Didn't get to see many animals may be because it was in the middle of winter?? Nice area and good place to take kids too.
Filled with many different groups of people checking out the animals. Has rabbits, chickens, pigs, geese, horses, cows, sheep and a big ol' turkey. The farm is often open on Holidays and is totally free of charge. Note for dog owners, they cannot allow dogs into the farm area, but there is a lovely park surrounding the farm.
It is so nice to visit a farm in the city! I love to walk around the park and see the animals.
Had fun here
Great place to visit. Free admission. Good access for wheelchair or walker although it does have some small hills. All domestic animals , chicken, goat, sheep etc. Well worth a visit.
Lovely little farm in the heart of downtown Toronto. Bring your little one, they would love here! Street parking is not hard to find during weekday visit.
Cute little farm, however for my chikdren's age grounp (9 and 6) not many animals so nit worth the drive downtown.
Green great walk for dogs too
Only reason I am giving this place 2 star is because the name is "Riverdale Farm" , if it was Riverdale Park or a Riverdale walking trail its a perfect 5. I am disappointed only because I went to that place with two of my toddlers and all we could see was 2 horses couple of cows and some chickens. Try Lionels farm, my favourite, it used to be free but I guess its 2$ per person, bring lettuce, carrots etc from home and feed the animals. Kids love it.
Wonderful green environment. I love coming here.
I used to come here as a kid when it was the Riverdale Zoo and they had the typical cage zoo fare. Now it's an old fashion animal barn where they keep a few horses, cows and goats. A beautiful path down the hill leads to an old brick and stone, barred window stable of sorts, surrounded by lush green vines and and an algae covered pond. There is also a large park for strolling and lazing on benches, with a small wading pool, I believe during the summer for kids. This is a dog on-leash area, the dog off-leash area is at the bottom of the park where the sports playing fields are. Adjacent to the park is the famed Cabbagetown neighbourhood of Toronto. It's a beautiful old neighbourhood steeped in original homes, on quiet tree-lined streets and obscure laneways. We do a Christmas walk through the neighbourhood most years at night. The park and Riverdale farm is a delightful 30 minute walk from Yonge and Bloor area.
It is a small little farm with a few animals. It is great that I can peacefully walk though with my coffee and enjoy the scenery and the farm animals in the middle of downtown Toronto. It is free to walk through but there is a donation box outside if you want to support the farm in the city
It's awesome to know this still stands. Happy the city didn't remove it. It's nice to know that in the middle of everything in Toronto this farm is still around, it's a great place to bring the kids for a few hours. There is a wadding pool for younger kids just out front of the farm, and a fairly nice park. Great to see the animals, and have the kids learn about the farm. A great piece of history for the city of Toronto, a must visit for at least a couple of hours.
LOVEEEEEEEE Riverdale Farm. Can't believe I never went here as a kid. My daughter loves it here and we have been going pretty often since I discovered it. The best part is it is free. Great walking trails. Nice place to meet other parents too; if your social. Which I'm not LOL.
Always visit this place. Such a peaceful atmosphere
Cute place to get away from the city life..just for a moment in time
Wasn't inside the farm however the park in front of it is very nice
Currently its closed due to pandemic, overall looks like it will provide country feeling in heart of city.
Amazing place to sledge in winters
It's kind of great that there is an actual farm with livestock etc just steps away from Yonge street! The admission is free and even if you're not interested in the farm aspect of it, it's a nice place to just walk around. The kids like it here as heres) there's lots for them to see.
Great view to watch sunset
Beautiful open space, running track, baseball diamond, outdoor pool in the summer and an outdoor fitness area. Great place to relax or workout in the summer and the hills makes for amazing tobogganing in the winter. One of my favorite outdoor spots in the city.
E Park to Connect With The Lower Don Trail
Really cute hidden gem in the city, so many adorable animals and it's a great place for kids! Only complaint I have is that the horses need to be brushed .... It's sad because they look slightly neglected
Wonderful green environment. I love coming here.
One of my all-time favourite places in Toronto. As a kid growing up in Regent Park, this place was an oasis, just a few blocks away where I could get away from the gangs and dealers; a place where I could bring my girlfriend on a date without any money. Be sure not to neglect the small cemetery just north. There is a really interesting little mausoleum and crematorium and if you look hard enough you can find the grave of George Brown.
The original Toronto zoo. Great place to bring kids for a couple hours.
Lovely little park. Some places had access denied. You could see the farm animals grazing around fenced. You can't ignore the smell, but a nice, short walk was sufficient for a quick look around.
Nice little gem near downtown. Fun place for kids to see some farm animals. Gets really pretty in the fall
Love this place . Always feel better going there..
Who knew there was an actual farm in the city lol Fun place to see if you dont know about it
You should certainly come visit if you can, as it was a lovely stroll. I'm excited to go back once restrictions are removed and the buildings open up, but certainly enjoyed our time there this trip!
A working farm in the middle of the city. Great place for younger children to engage with animals, and enjoy a taste, of the country. Good for longer walks and play in the, adjoining parks.
It was nice place, but the place was smaller than what we thought and the farm animals was also very less in number.
Nice place to let your dog off leash!
This park is lovely. Always clean. The sound of children playing in the fountain is heartbreakingly wonderful. Parking is a bit difficult in the summer because of the baseball games.
This little farm is super cute and great to spend some time with kids and friends. Should definitely visit! Also the farm closes early so make sure to go there early afternoon.
The hill in this park is perfect for tobogganing. There's parking along the top and bottom of the hill as well so its a quick stop.
Fun and unique experience for kids in the city. Very well-kept with nice parts and a variety of traditional farm animals to enjoy it. They provide Farmer demonstrations daily that start at 11:30 AM. We had a great time!
Very disappointed, felt like there were more animals when I used to go as a child. Until they add more animals and make it feel like a farm again, the Toronto Zoo will be the best option for children young and old.
Great place to bring the kids to see some animals for free. Street parking can be a little annoying. It's operations are reduced due to covid. You could enter some of the barn houses and stuff previously.
Perfect place to spend time during summertime under the shade of trees. Enjoy some quality time with your loved ones.
For a free farm in the city, this place was pretty great. Was easy to find parking too.
We had a great muddy morning at farm, we .et the new baby lamb baby goat. It was fun walking around the barn. There were new ducklings and chick's. Awesome Saturday morning.
Beautiful surroundings within the downtown core. Personally, I prefer to enjoy it early mornings before the mobs of children arrive from the local schools. Give generously, its a wonderful facility without the "wedding photo crowd" and the lavatory is always spotless. The necropolis across the road is worth checking out as well.
What a breathtaking view of the city of Toronto. This farm was the staple of many class trips in elementary school. Always nice to get away but close to home by a farm.
One of the nicest parks in Toronto. Park Snacks is a great spot for ice cream and when the Farm is open it's a great stop to spend time with the kids.
☆☆MAKE SURE☆☆ the forecast is a shiny 1 cuz it will make ur Riverdale Farm outing WAYYYY special????????...no matter where you live in this giant crazy and awesome city.........if u got a bit of adventure in ur bones.......BEAUTIFUL side streets filled with yards of fancy flowers can pave the journey!! ...chances R you'll probably end up going through or around other parks that are in between. Easiest way to accidentally????..Explore????..... P.S. ------if ur comin from the east then definitely wiggle ur way through these side streets and lane ways...YOU will totally forget ur in Toronto...enjoy
Lovely part of town with the farm, Park, Park Snack, the old houses, splash pad and the cemetery. Like being in a small town.
Beautiful old homes with old trees and a gorgeous front lawns
A beautiful park with a real farm to visit, spend and afternoon with your family or friends, or exercise around.
It's nice, you can take your dog.
Lovely park with a working farm and a lot of animals.
It is good to have a farm so children and adults are able to appreciate and learn about other sentient beings. Riverdale farm offers demonstrations on milking cows every day along wirh education on farm animals. There are many groups and classes available throughout the year and a store opens everyday where we can buy produce and crafts. Sadly the baby pigs don't stay too long as the farm have a deal with a farmer to supply new piglets.
One of our go-to local places in the spring/summer/fall. Lots to do: see the animals, tour the Necropolis, enjoy some icecream or snacks from the shop at the northwest corner, read historical plaques, have a picnic (lots of big picnic tables, green lawns). For the kids: newly redone wading pool/splash pad.
Small but very nice park. Good place for kids and not only
Very good farm. Last summer my son saw farm animals for the first time here. He was so amazed. There is a Persian pastry store near the farm which sells great desserts.
Such a shame the trash in the area
The cutest farm ❤️ My daughter loves to visit!
The farm itself was nothing special. Maybe fun for toddlers and slightly older kids than toddlers. However the adjacent park is amazing.
Nice view and good place for walking and other outdoor physical activities.
Went with my son's daycare few years back and I can't say we were all very happy.the kids were very much satisfied. The splash pool close by was the cherry.lol
A wonderful place to bring your little ones (and even your bigger ones). Lots of parking unless there are events on in the neighbourhood. Bring your own snacks as there is but one cafe in immediate proximity unless there is a market happening in the adjacent park. Beautiful area to walk around. Great, quiet way to intro your kids to farm animals.
Nice farm with farm animals. Good place for a jog or a stroll. Has a few baseball diamonds close by. From the other side of the hill you get a good view of Toronto.
Beautiful jungle in busy city:)
Nice farm, was a bit cold when I visited so it wasn't too comfortable, but it's nice to see animals in a public space.
Great place to take the little ones. Parking is free but limited to street only. Entrance to the farm is free and donations are encouraged. Outside the farm is a cool splash pad for those hot summer days. The barns and grounds are fine for strollers as well.
What an awesome little gem tucked away in a big city! Great FREE spot to come and if not enjoy the animals hanging out then just to walk around the beautiful gardens! Tons of well taken care of flowers and food gardens! It’s a bit hilly so some may find it harder to walk around in! It’s small though so very manageable. In the park beside there is a great splash pad too so great for families with young kids!
Great little farm tucked away in the city. There's cows, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese and pigs. Right now there's a bit of a wait to get in due to the COVID capacity restrictions. My little one loves going here to see the ducks. It's free to enter.
Awesome. Right in the heart of Toronto's downtown core there os a place which looks and feels like a place that is old fashioned and good to bring your family into. It was fun walking around the farm. Actually a cow was supposed to give a birth to a cub that day! So perhaps next time you come there you'll see a small one walking I the den. Is recommend come 2-3 hours before closing minimum. Because there os quite large area for walking to cover. I'm not a huge fan of zoos, but this place looks pretty peaceful. You can feed goats with grease right through the fence. There is free parking along the street on one of the north side towards western direction of traffic on Winchester Street.
So cute! Loved it and all the amazing buildinga and animals. Such a pretty neighbourhood
Always love the goats!
Beautiful place for kids and their accompanying adults. Good for long walks . Kids can run around , awesome place to look at a farm life.in an urban setting. Best in all seasons. Look for their seasonal events.
One of my favourite stops in the city when walking or jogging through Riverdale park. The animals are open to the public, and if you can get past listening to never ending questions from parents to their children regarding the sound a pig or chicken makes, it's a lovely oasis within the city.
Cutest little farm. The animals are so friendly. Beautiful colours in autumn. Quick escape from city life. And it's FREE! Support Riverdale farm :)
Great place to visit. Kids love it obviously but good date spot and wind up in Cabbagetown for lunch.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. Cute animals, a small history museum about the farm and the surrounding Cabbagetown area, and some seasonal events for the children. A nice way to kill a few hours on a weekend just walking though and looking at all kind of farm life.
Riverdale farm is a nice small farm , that a lot of people do not know used to be the original toronto zoo before the one in Scarborough was built and also riverdale park infront of the farm has a farmers market every Tuesday from 3 to 7 weather permitting
Great outing with the kids
It is nice and relaxing
Wonderful little gem that we have in the city. Bring the kids to visit with the farm animals. Enjoy a picnic in the park while the kids cool off in the wading pool.
Living the farm animals
Good place for ???? toboggan at the back of the farm at this time.
Lots of space clesr view if the downtown core and the DVP. Hills are great to run down & up. Leave are colorful trees. Great place to relax & enjoy!
It’s a nice day out for family with young kids. My son is fond of this place, there are a variety of farm animals. Kids can watch animal care including shearing sheep hair. Visitors should carry food and water with them as there is nothing available onsite, sitting space available though.
This is a good free place to go for the family or a couple or just a friendly walk through some historic nature and see a couple animals we went in late November so there were only a couple animals but if you want to do something free this place is good for a short thing to do we spent half hour there cause there’s not a lot here but maybe in the spring and summer there will be a few more animals
A lovely place to wander through for an hour, especially with children, and those that love animals. Horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens and pigs in a country-like setting.
This is a nice place to walk around with the kids. It is quiet and the people seem respectful. Being winter there weren't too many animals out, but we enjoyed the cows, horses, goats, and sheep.
I love this park. The view is amazing. There is a large off leash area for dogs to run around. The park is well maintained. This is one of my favorite parks in the city. I recommend a visit.
A nice green place right in the heart of Cabbagetown. Great place to walk and meditate, play sports,or take your dog for a walk.
We have been coming with our children for many years. A small place, perfect for the younger folks, who don't need anything fancy. A couple of horses and cows, a bunch of sheep and goats, and many chickens. Entrance is free, though they appreciate donations, and on the street parking is ample and free. Just a heads up, there is lots of construction now, (January 2018) so it is muddy, and not everything is accessible.
Hidden place in downtown Toronto. Not very far from Castle Frank or Wellesley subway station. Small barn and good place for kids to see and walk. Garden and splash pad outside farm. Overall it's free and 1-2hrs of activity.
Very nice park and farm for children. free parking. the farm is free but encourage donation to keep it running. farm is clean and tidy. popular place for school trip
A great hobby farm in the middle of the city. It's really tiny, it will maybe take 30 mins to walk through, but it gives city kids a chance to see cows, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, ducks, and others. In the heart of Cabbagetown and a short walk to downtown, or a short TTC ride to anywhere in Toronto. There's a great park and splashpad right there if you want to make a day of it.
Always fun to walk and see animals in a short period of time! Well maintained animals well cared for. Staff usually friendly and knowledgeable and professional!
I use to work at Riverdale Farm - everytime I would run into friends they would sing the theme song to Green Acres (TV Show). It a nice place to bring the family. Summertime there's a Farmer's Market. Farm usually has cows, pigs, chickens, goats and other farm animals depending on availability. The staff is friendly, public washrooms (new) are available, a park next door to the farm (Cabbage Town), parking is limited. From time to time the Farm holds special events and demonstrations (check website). A turn of the century farm with flower gardens and walkways.
This farm is amazing. .. its in green lands downtown toronto. .. had a great time walking through the trails/paths with the kids.. the animals weren't to activate due to the weather being so hot.. but all around it was fun... will definitely go again. .
The farm is nice and most parts are closed, kids loves the animals. It's a free admission.
One of our favorite places to hang in the city with our kiddos. Other than the animals, there's playroom for the tiny visitors and always kids cdafts related to each holidays. The washroom has been renovated and was quite clean. Daily show and tells about the different animals from the farmers taking care of them!
My grandson, daughter-in-law and I had a wonderful time sad we didnt see as many animals as wewould of like but we had a great "fun time" anyway :)
It's totally a family place, you can bring kids of any age and for sure every body will have fun. Children and adults.
Beautiful place to sit and have a picnic while watching the clouds go by... just be careful to leave your bike locked up over night around the area! Most likely will get stolen
Fun place for kids
Great place for small kids (upto 5 years may be ). The farm includes basic farm animals : pigs, hen, horses, lambs, cows/buffalo. The farm map mentioned duck pond but unfortunately there weren't any there. One can probably take an entire tour in about an hour.
Great escape for everyone, especially children, to see farm animals in their environment. And no admission fee! Parking on local streets. There is also a splash pad nearby.
The farm is always a nice experience and it's nice to have some free activities for both adults and kids in the city. There are a variety of animals, including cows, horses, pigs, rabbits, goats, etc. The kids really loved it. There are vegetable, herb, and flower gardens too so it really is beautiful. Outside the little farm, there is both a beautiful park with a little wading pool and great places for picnicking, but also some trails in the woods to walk in. Keep in mind that due to the animals, there are no dogs allowed in the farm itself. I highly recommend this place on summer and fall as the animals are fun and the park is lovely. However, the staff was nowhere to be found when we visited and the daily talks about the animals were suspended that day but without any other information which was a little sad for the kids who were looking forward to it. Riverdale Farm happens to be located in the Cabbagetown area of Toronto which is a really underrated part of the city. It's great for a summer's walk and you can see all of Toronto's older, well - preserved Victorian homes
Good place for kids
This is a photo of the field beside the lower entrance to the farm, not of the farm. This old farm was here before the city grew this far out from downtown. Beautiful place to go for a walk with or without kids. Benches for sitting and sightseeing throughout. Baby animals in spring and summer. Festivals. Seasonal. Washrooms. A gem in the middle of the city. Take a walk through the ancient graveyard a stone's throw from the top entrance. Also very cool. Park at the top of the farm also has a wading pool and picnic tables and lots of big old shady trees. Old fashioned ice cream parlour across the street.
Just visit the outside near the outer fence.i was able to see two farm animals!
Just visit the outside near the outer fence.i was able to see two farm animals!
Great Place to visit, clean, well maintained with a petting zoo. Nice place for a walk or to simply relax and read a book.
Got to see most of the animals there today
It's a nice place that's in the city. Kids love the farm animals and it's completely free. In the summer, the kids also love the splash pad that is nearby
Fun little farm that is free to visit. A wonderful place to bring young children.
Free and good place in the city to see some farm animals. Kids love it. Pigs horses sheep goat and chickens
Great place to hang on a hot summers night!
Large park with benches and mature trees precedes the entrance to the zoo. Zoo itself is small but charming. Be aware washrooms are currently under construction.
Cool place for sledding, people were still going down the hill at 9 that night. City should put up more lights for them
We had a fantastic time with our 2 year old boy, Its just the right size for a fun day out and about
Am overall pleased with the changes made at Riverdale. Route is one way to avoid people going every which way, routes to washrooms are clearly marked and paths that must be two way have clear arrows for what side to be on. I didn't see anyone keeping track of how many visitors there were, but I was there early in the morning. Some people were wearing masks and certainly is an option for added protection for when/if it gets more crowded.
Great escape from the city in the city
Great place to take the kids and see some farm animals
Good family place to come and have the opportunity to see farm animals, people and children in the city might not normally see. They have fun activities for kids on a regular basis. Ice cream shop at edge of park. 40 year old down town treasure. Everything is free.
Very peaceful place to connect with animals and nature, perfect for kids and family. It's a free oasis in the city
My kids love this place !
Great place to bring kids for walk in the city.
Our favorite little farm. The animals are beautiful.
That's unbelievable farm in the central city, great place for children
Well to start this family friendly Farm/Park is free to the neighborhood and to any person residing in Toronto well maintained clean then even added a food court if you and your family wishes to grab a quick bite a good variety of animals and beautiful scenery. Would recommend to you and your family for a nice day out on the weekend enjoy
Great for families/visitors all ages Great for picnics visit the farm animals and their home walk around the farm and along the trail. Washroom available onsite Kiddie outdoor pool right outside Picnic benches right outside front entrance for larger groups. treat yourself and those with you to some ice cream!! afterwards. Ice cream parlour across the street from farm Enjoy your day
One of Toronto's best kept "secrets".....but more people should go! The farm staff are all knowledgeable and helpful, anxious to share what they know. Well maintained. A great place to wander, with or without little ones.
Small but cute farm, come here early Sunday morning and it's mostly parents with small children. Free street parking too.
I asked for small orders he gave me large orders not impressed
Beautiful park with impressive view. You can go there for a hill workout as well!
Interesting place to visit and walk, friendly staff
Love it! It was nice to see some farm animals which I haven't seen in years and ny son's first time. The trail were so lush with trees, cool and relaxing. A nice break from all the hustle of Toronto.
A hidden working farm in downtown Toronto, city maintained. Best time of year to visit is in Springtime when all the animals have just had their babies; the kids can see lambs jumping about playing, calves, baby goats, chicks. There is an activity centre on the farm all running programs for the kids. Public washroom facilities on the farm. A great respite from the rush of city life. So peaceful. A relaxing way to spend a few hours.
A small animal farm in Toronto. Free entry. Roadside parking. They have cows, horses, goats, lambs, pigs and chicken. The barn is closed now because of Covid. Kids loved to see the animals and we loved the scenic beauty.
Very large park. Wide open Space. Airy with large trees providing shady areas in the summer. Ideal for family activities. Could use some more washrooms.
They have baby goat triplets that are only a couple of months old right now. They're incredibly cute. Springtime here is great because of all of the newborns. It's free and great fun on a nice day.
I've just discovered the frog pond
My experiences there are as many say, a glimpse of rural in urban. Amazing concept I agree and my favourite animal there are pigs. Everything else is cool as well though!
Lovely park and farm. Nice for a lazy stroll beside the don river.
The only outdoor workout area with a rope ladder to climb. I love this one! Things can get a little bit crowded early in the morning, but people tend to flow in and out in waves.
I took my grandson, his girlfriend and my 2 greatgrand kids. It was a surprise for my grandson as he hadn't been there since he was about 8. He remembered what he had seen years ago. We all enjoyed it. We will go back and hopefully everything will be open.
Lovely place to enjoy with kids
The grounds are great, but unfortunately the vast majority of patrons don't follow pandemic precautions (at least when we were there), so I wouldn't recommend it at this time.
Great place for toddlers.
This is a great place for you and small children. It is very accessible for being downtown and best of all it is free. Also the necropolis across the street is worth a visit.
Great place to spend a sunny afternoon in Toronto. Kids love it here. Lot's of places to explore. Gorgeous little farm surrounded by beautiful Victorian style homes in Cabbagetown. Another bonus - it's across the street from the historically interesting and beautiful Necropolis.
Suitable for kids watch and play with farm animals..it has got a nice tree shaded walk trail.
Awesome place for a quiet walk or a jogging that will take to the bridge and east side of Riverdale
Cute place with various farm animals. Nice for a stroll with the kids. The trail to cross the Don River is currently closed though.
Cute place with various farm animals. Nice for a stroll with the kids. The trail to cross the Don River is currently closed though.
Riverdale farm is now open again and it is super cute. On the weekends you may find some line because many families go with kids. There is also a really nice park next to it with a snack/coffee/ ice cream store
It’s very easy to walk around. It’s free but you can donate to support the farm.
This place is one of the best for enjoying sunset in downtown toronto with green sorrounding.
Great place for the family and also photography enthusiasts.
Beautifully maintained, lots of animals to see, nice paths to walk and clean facilities - would definitly recommend!
Small farm. Admission is free and street parking is available.
Beautiful, calm, and smells good like a farm should
Beautiful place, peaceful. Not giving 5 stars as I wish the farm could have been bigger. But other than that its great.
Its an experience within city, fun farm tour with kids. Trail was amazing
Even though buildings are still closed due to Covid, this was a lovely visit. The animals looked peaceful and well taken care of, the grounds were very clean and the gardens were beautiful. Our little girl enjoyed being able to see the animals up close. There were also staff members at the entrance ensuring that is was never over the allowed capacity. Overall lovely place!
I've never been here before, but I can tell you these people here have no love for any animals at all nor respect for people. They are the first people to ever ask me about pricing for animals over the first email rather than, is it dewormed? Is it healthy? What size are expected, etc... I don't recommend a place where they only care about money.
Friendly people who work there
A beautiful scenic view, especially during sunset.
Where else can you see big smelly creatures crapping all over Toronto? Queens park perhaps? Great park with some fun animals and nice facilities. Great for kids of many ages. Also its free!
Take a breath of fresh air right here at the heart of Toronto. Riverdale Farm offers a quick scape to nature without leaving the city. Perfect place to spend a couple of hours with friends and family. Children will love it. Animals include cows, horses, sheeps, pigs, goats, ducks... And you can hear birds singing all along the walk through. Barns, wood oven, ponds and much more to be discovered in this peaceful charming little farm. Enjoy!!
Love it! Not a lot of animals but it's great for kids and is totally free, you can choose to make a donation when you enter if you wish. Parking kind of sucks but it is open 365 days a year and it was something to do on Easter weekend when everything else was closed.
A quiet little area in the heart of Toronto. I only saw horses, not sure what other animals are there. Washrooms are also available. A nice place to go, but you can't bring pets there.
Such a hidden gem downtown. We loved taking our son here to see the animals. It wasn't congested with no line ups and very clean. Fantastic experience, and totally free!! Just wow!
This is a great place to take children to see what a farm looks like. It gives them a chance to close to farm animals that you would never see in the city. Also Riverdale park is a nice place go and relax, have a picnic or just take the dog for a nice walk. Also there are trails you can go on as well for a nice walk or hike.
Beautiful place to take your kids
Great place too look around whats there and take pictures.
Happy people enjoying the day. Lovely afternoon. No beggars, no needles, no annoyances.
Excellent piece of 'farm life' in middle of the city. Gorgeous grounds+ gardens with picnic tables! Animals are tame and love attention!
A great place to go with pre-schoolers. Great for city kids to see "real" farm animals they would never see otherwise. Fun to see baby animals there. Riverdale Farm is right beside a beautiful city park.
The stairs and hill are good to run up. The farm is nice for the kiddies
Love to walk thru here with the family!
Such a wonderful walk. I miss it being a zoo but I understand why it is no longer. The farm is very informative as well. Good for all who go.
Nice farm. Went on a Saturday and most of the animals were not in sight. Very well maintained farm space. Cute place to go for a couple hours. Small place so not much to do.
It's a peaceful out of the way haven where one can enjoy the natural. The animals add a wonderful bit of life and amusement. It all rolls together to give one the ability to connect to what ever it is we might need to connect to.
It's got animals. Several, in fact. One goat yelled at me, but we got over it. One sheep yelled at me, and we are still working it. Things are strange but will be ok. Great trail to walk, recommended for kids of all ages
Riverdale farm is good. But if you want to have a break or rest, there are a few benches which are very unclean and there are a lot of bee's and if you try to eat , the bee's attack you. Also the park is very small and unsafe for little kids because the there is not a barrier around the park. My visit was not very good.
Riverdale Farm is one of a very few petting zoos Lefton the world that's Freeland educational. There's a plaque beside each exhibit is informative and enhances the visitors enjoyment and knowledge. The majority of exhibits are interactive. This little gem is only one of a handful of this type of zoos left in North America. I urge you to see and experience it before it gets taken over by a developer. Just Google directions.
Great place to visit, to see farm animals. Rainy day made for no crowds :) Definitely worth taking small kids there.
well maintained.. it's running only with the help of donations I heard... we should have more such places .. good for a nature walk .. a lovely park attached to the farm for one to relax under the lovely trees .. washroom wasn't clean rest no other negatives ..
Great area for kids and pets. Ideal for picnicking. The animal area was limited but satisfactory. The park size can be comparable to Kensington Park. The surrounding area is also pleasant. Only downside is the size but it's overall a wonderful area.
Small farm in the city. Lots of animals to see. Free and a very easy trip if you live in the city. Great for kids.
Animals. Free. Wholesome. What more can you ask for? If you see a black cat please refer to her as Pawriana Grande. That's definitely not her name, but we're trying to make it stick.
I went to here with my son. We had a very good time. :)
It's a pleasant spot in the heart of the city - green, nicely maintained and with a variety of farm animals. It's mostly a walkaround and see proposition, not much hands-on for kids. On a pleasant day outside, it's worth an hour's explore. Parking can be tough if you don't get there early.
Great for kids.
Nice one within the city. Good for toddler and kids. They can enjoy farm animal. And an awesome little icecream shop on the corner of the intersection.
Beautiful farm and walk. The autumn foliage was really magnificent! There were horses, sheep, goats, chickens turkeys and some other farm animals. The kids loved it. Not really much for the kids, but the farm read enough of an incentive to get them to go on a nice walk in the park!
Riverdale Farm is a good place for young kids to see farm animals in the city. They have standard farm animals such as cows, chickens and pigs. You can pet some of the animals and watch them feed others. In addition, there is a paved path you can walk around. I would really only recommend it to families with children.
The most amount of green space locally.
Nice and natural farm fresh organic Market once a weak. Beside Highway don velly.Children fun with cattle.
A very nice park in the city. Well maintained. Many families during the weekends.
Pretty quiet here this morning, but a nice break outside. Parking was not so bad, ended up around 400m down Winchester.
Amazing city farm
This place is fantastic! There is a cute little farm to see some animals at and an extensive set of trails where you can enjoy beautiful nature and relaxing pond. It's a great place for a first date, and a good place for families.
A lovely sanctuary, to stroll and visit
We liked the farm ; it’s small but what more can you ask for in middle of the city . But; we didn’t like the fact there was no social distancing being followed in the splash pad area of the picnic park outside the farm ! Pictures Attached..
Great place to take little ones to see farm animals. Cute little farm inside the city. With nice parks and trail surrounding the farm in Cabbage town. Limited street parking
Let's go the cows is what I'm sayin
A beautiful farm in the downtown area. Lots of green space. They have pigs, cows, horses, goats, sheep and chicken. Nice hangout place with kids. There are washrooms. Next to the farm is a large green space ( Riverdale park West) with picnic tables , lot of tree shades and a nice wading pool for kids to enjoy. Easily accessible by TTC. Overall, a great park to hangout with kids.
Great spot in the middle of Cabbagetown. Lots of exploring to do and a means to get into the Don Valley. Learn about animal lifecycles and get a better idea of where things come from (other than "the store").
Great place for children and adults. Safe because there are no vehicles. Gardens are absolutely beautiful. Picnic tables are available for eating. Boo barn was fun for halloween. Staff are hard workers .
Love the small farm. As of this moment not much is open (Covid) but what is around is great for a 2 year old to enjoy. Had a wonderful time and would go back again. Quiet and tranquil and very family friendly.
It looks like a really nice place for the summer. However, During the winter season it doesn't look like there's much happening. There were very few animals to see.
Been there a few times, my kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals, goats, horses etc. Also spent an evening there during Halloween special event. Just keep in mind do some donations, more or less, will make a big difference.
Cute animals, fun times :)
Always a fun place to visit with the family. Free public parking within walking distance. Free family friendly accessible farm, with accessible washrooms. Farm is open now with covid restrictions to maintain safety. Highly recommend, especially if youre not looking to spend any $$
Way better than Haute goat farm
This was so fun! Hard to believe it's in the middle of Toronto.
One of my favorite places to lose myself in the city, absolutely beautiful space! I have also seen coyotes here so be careful with your dog off leash.
Amazing farm within the city! Easy to find free parking in the morning. Indoor stuff is still closed but understandable.
I did not go to the farm but to the ball diamonds. The ball diamonds at the bottom of the hill were in good condition. Washrooms taken care of and clean considering the amount of people that use it throughout the day
It was a little bit hard to get to and busier than I would have liked, but I would try to go again earlier in day next time since it seems to be a popular place and then hope to be able to find parking.
We always have a great time. Admission is free and there's great spots for picnics. Path and exhibit closures due to construction, are a slight letdown but there's always lots to do and see.
A Toronto must see! Absolutely adorable!
A great destination for parents, the Riverdale Farm allows you to travel to a time when the milk was obtained from the cows and goats, not simply purchased. The friendly staff gave us a splendid presentation on the goat milk and the milking process. The children could assist the city farmer when she milked the goats. For the budget conscious parents, the farm does not charge an entrance fee.
All a nice place to visit
I live near the farm and as I get older honestly I find my self walking there more and more . I truly do enjoy a walk through the farm it's so peaceful and relaxing , pluse who dose not enjoy seeing animals.
It is a very nice place to go for a walk.
A farm in the middle of the city?! This place is very cool. Love visiting the animals (sheep, goats, cows and more!) and the park is gorgeous. Take a walk of the surrounding area and enjoy the Cabbagetown architecture.
I love Riverdale Farm, no it is not like the zoo that you all imagine. It is a traditional old farm that has been there for over a hundred years. It is a Toronto staple and something definitely north checking out but at best it is 1 to 1.5 hours with children or about 30 mins as adults. There are no concession stands (great ice cream/ cafe across the road) or rides, think 1800's farm life, if that appeals go check it out but if you are looking for exotic animals or rides, go check out the Toronto Zoo or Canada's Wonderland.
This is an often requested outing and a great place for families, couples, and singles who want to visit some farm animals and/or relax in a peaceful setting in the middle of the city. There is a large, beautiful park (with plenty of mature trees) just outside the farm entrance, perfect for a picnic or throwing a ball around. The farm connects to several trail systems and has a marshland habitat that is home to birds such as the woodpecker, great blue heron, and yellow-rumpled warbler as well as favourites such as the cardinal, blue jay, and chickadee. The farm itself is home to horses, cows, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, bunnies, a turkey, and ducks. This is a great place (and teaching opportunity) for kids who love farm animals. The grounds are very well kept and feature beautiful landscaping and interesting (historical) facts. Parking is available on Sumach St (right in front of the main entrance) as well on the streets surrounding. Enjoy a short visit (in the winter) or spend the entire day (in the summer) - the farm is open year-round.
Nice place to unload anything keep you cool. Walking through the garden all around the park and enjoy the quiet atmosphere and breathing the green green grass of home. Beautiful place to relax and appreciate the beauty of nature.
This place is always nice to go for a walk, they have not too many animals but the once they have, it seems to be taking care of, in the summer time when they have the farmers market right by the entrance, also they have programs for kids, which I think is really cool ????????????????????????
We go here often on weekends with a toddler. It's a great, FREE activity for families with younger kids. There are always parking spots available before 9:30am. Takes us 45 mins to an hour to get through the farm, with one way traffic.
Farm, free entry. No pumpkin patch when I went.
Cute little park. Free admission... Even if you're not into animals, it's a cool place to go for a walk. Typical filled with families and strollers. There's not many animals but it is still cool to see cows and horses etc in the heart of downtown Toronto There are also washrooms available to the public during the farms opening hours
Awesome place to go. In the heart of cabbagetown it's a great place for everyone to enjoy.
