They do fantastic work. They rescue injured, orphaned, and zoo overflow animals. Guided Tours are available. They were the only place that would take a lone baby duck that we found in our pool. Also, I loved the fact that on their website you can donate money, or you can purchase things they need to care for the animals from an Amazon wish list that gets shipped directly to them. If I could give more then 5 stars I would.

Amazing wildlife rescue and sanctuary, completely dependent on donations. Currently providing for over 100 animals from injured baby squirrels from last night's major windstorm, to exotic pets people could not handle, such as lions, as well as displaced or injured bears. A very caring hard working staff, valuing donations, and volunteer efforts. Open to the public, Tuesdays & Thursdays, but calling ahead is recommended, in case they are dealing with demands that change their ability to accommodate visitors (like the storm we just had resulting in a massive number of requests to assist all kinds of animals). We found an injured baby squirrel in downtown Toronto, no other place could help... Very glad to find out the actually live close to us just 10 minutes away from Barrie/ Springwater/Angus.

Wonderful staff; very caring! Took a little bird there today that had hit our office window and tumbled into a parked car. Appreciated that we would take the time to bring the bird to them! I would highly recommend them! We visited the SPCA first as it was closer. They didn't take the time to even look at the bird and informed us they didn't have a vet to euthanize the bird....we were not impressed

They are truly amazing!!!! We had a little bird who flew into our work window yesterday, then eventually flew away we thought. However, this morning we found the bird on the sidewalk again bouncing around- looked like it was in really rough shape. Then it tried flying again and bounced off of a car and went belly up. We got the bird and initially brought it to SPCA where they turned us away , didn't even seem to care at all and told us to find somewhere to get it put down. So my co-worker and I drove the bird to Bear Creek Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary where immediately they took action to help the little bird in which it seems like it will be okay!!! They are super caring and knowledgeable. Really cared about the outcome of the little bird. Highly recommend!!!! :)

Absolutely an amazing sanctuary with amazing people working there. My father in law had found an abandoned baby squirrel and brought it to me. I cared for it while I waited to find somewhere that would take him that would also care for him and not put him to sleep. I eventually stumbled upon Bear Creek Sanctuary. I spoke with a woman named Mary who was so nice and assured me that she would take the squirrel and he would be safe and cared for. When I brought the baby squirrel, the staff put him in the nursery and assured me that he will eventually be moved to an outdoor enclosure with other squirrels where he would learn to climb and forge for food and eventually be released back into the wild. They do give tours here. Amazing people with big hearts!

This place is amazing. The animals are well taken care of, and given plenty of proper nutrition. Mary, and her team of volunteers, are passionate, and truly love what they do. This is a very selfless job to take care of so many animals in need from Siberian tigers all the way to small racoons. Aside from a very interesting and informative 3+ hour tour, some highlights include: interacting with a bobcat on a leash, hearing a powerful lion roar, shaking a spider monkey's hand, and more. Well worth the modest $50 tour price for the once in a lifetime experience.
