Neat urban island park to spend your afternoon. Great summer water park to keep them kids occupied and a Hill for winter sledding . Great change of scenery for running.

Marilyn Lantano

Fabulous little spot right between the zoo and Inglewood. Great walking paths, access to the Bow River and a great flooded walkway to cool off. Love this little piece of nature in the heart of #yyc

America Libertad

Went here to watch a free movie at the park. Really nice.

Favourite outdoor spot in Calgary, in any season. In summer the inlet is a great spot for kids to swim and splash about, and in the winter the sledding hill is well lit, and perfectly designed to be both fast and safe for all ages. Has a great playground and space for outdoor events as well, definitely a good job by the city constructing this new park.

Kali Srinivasan Sindhuja

Great place for a walk, if you live near the area. Must pay for parking 24/7 365 days a year.

Jordan Leong

Very beautiful and peaceful !!

GI WON PARK

Great getaway in the city

dom rose

Great place for everyone! ????????

Mike Larsson

Was a great place to hang out, BBQ and had a good truck near by for those of us that forgot to bring food! Didn't have any grassy areas to play with our Balls but besides that, was great!

Ryan Sorensen

Great open park space tucked away on a small island in between East village, Inglewood, and the zoo. The views are great with some seclusion from the busy city life and you can catch a nice spring/summer sunset of the time is right. It provides a nice escape without escaping and comes equipped with bbq and seating area with a playground to keep everyone happy. Minutes away from east village and down the river from the peace bridge, this island is just another hidden gem this beautiful city has to offer.

Frank Janer

This is always a great part of my ride, very peaceful and wholesome here. They have a massive fire pit on top of the toboggan hill. Washrooms and lots of BBQ pits with seating. Stuff for everyone’s enjoy really.

Quy La

In the midst of city, it is a calming place. Good place to do cardio.

Adam “Bison Court” D

Great playground for younger kids.

A Frewan

awesome little park, cool place to hangout or to come with family.

Damoona Moradi

Great location and lots of green space. Nice wading area during summer months, but winter months leave plenty of nature to take in.

Heather Northey

Whether your new to Calgary or you've been here your entire life.. Everyone enjoys what this gorgeous park has to offer.. Bike and family friendly is always a plus ????

Faye W

not bad i guess.. the kids had fun..we had fun thats all that matters..

Yasmin Hovakeemian

A very lively place along the river path

CBVM CHBORI

Such a sweet little nature spot in the middle of bustling downtown. Always full of pedestrians, cyclists and humans all out enjoying the scenery, weather. We live in area so rather enjoy a quick trip there to walk the river and soak it all in. Definitely prettier to visit in winter or summer. Spring season is rather brown, dusty and a little gritty

Dodi Espanioli

Where do I even start? It's a beautiful park! A perfect place to relax whether by yourself or with others! Walk across the Bridge over the Bow River and look over downtown during sunset or sunrise! Breathe in and feel the cool breeze along the river bank. Even better, take a dip at the 'mini beach' before entering the park. I bring my pup there for a dip (on leash) and she absolutely loves it! You can even go up the hill and see a view of Calgary's skyscrapers. The park also turns in to winter wonderland during snow months. You can go sledding down the hill or simply, walk around and enjoy the view. This path also leads you right to the Calgary Zoo! We are lucky to have this space in our East Village community

Jared Iverson

Great little beach for children near downtown Calgary. Lots of walking trails as well. The play structure is best for 5 years plus due to the ladders and rope obstacles.

Shahnavaz Vora

A park is a park is a park..lol! In all seriousness though, it is a beautiful place to visit with family. The kids will love it as there's a playground just for them. It's also great for relaxing after a long day. It's also good for picnics too. One suggestion to anyone who wants to visit in summer though and especially in the evenings: wear pants or else the mosquitos will get ya.

Linda Knoke

Great place for kids to discover AMAZING A MUST GO PLACE

Florence Tan

I hope the natural design lasts, but for now makes a great urban escape.

Daryl Wevers

It is a place fun for kids and adults????

Ruth Stutz

Beautiful place for a picnic ????

Dr. Marco Navarro-Genie

This place is great for a leisurely stroll or a quick jog. There is also a playground for kids. It's an excellent place to spend an afternoon.

Sunny Ho

Born and raised in Calgary and had never visited this specific park! what a great area for a picnic, walk and for the kids to play. The restrooms were clean and fully stocked with soap. Will be checking it out again soon.

jANsON Potato.

Awesome place! for a quick hike downtown

Stephen

My kids love it. Big beautiful space

Mark Powers

The fire pit on top of the hill has to be one of the best kept secrets in the city

Nancy MacDonald

It's a really cool wooden structure with rock climbing walls, and tables surrounding. Very cool!

Elena Tatiana

Great place to take kids, with their playgrounds and wading pools.

Tomas Ruhland

It's a great place for a hang out with kids. The beach is rocky but shallow. The playground is great for older kids. I wouldn't recommend it for children under 2.5 as there isn't much they can do on those tall structures. Still a perfect spot downtown Calgary for splash and BBQ.

beachrischan magali

It's such a great little park that makes me feel like I've escaped the city for a moment. The children love the playground and we enjoy the many paths through the park and along the river. Highly recommend!

T. Currie

Amazing park!! Never been before so it was an amazing experience, its right on the river and has a great playground for kids.

rakhi arora

This place is amazing ???? Inner city hidden gem

Lisa Merrett

Nice quiet place to take kids.

Ian Love

Beautiful little park with a great view of Calgary's downtown skyline. Only downside is that parking is $1.75 for every 30 minutes.

Mohit Rishi

This is a neat park on the edge of the downtown. Great place for children.

Devan Lewis

Beautiful little park with a nice selection of amenities. Great place for a walk, or to hang with the family for an afternoon. Picnic tables, playground, and a "wading pool" for little kids (and grownups too) that is a pretty, man-made inlet fed by the Bow River. The history of the area might intestest some people too -- signs give visitors a little background on the island. Parking is free for zoo members, as the lot is by the zoo's back entrance (if and when the zoo ever re-opens those gates). Or you can park at 6th & 6th SE and walk over the bridge to the park.

Tara Lynn Lee

It is such a blessing to have amazing parks in our city like this. It's just crazy how Calgary is expanding and building such beautiful places for children families and adults. It's something that I would definitely recommend checking out because there isn't much like this in other cities it's got amazing playgrounds and places to walk and places to even just view awesome water scenes. I need a great place to retreat for the day, I would highly recommend this place.

Trevor Prosser

This is a great alternative to Prince's Island Park. It's got a lot of interesting features, such as the Rise, and the walking path that is partially under a few inches of water (there's a bridge nearby if you don't want to get your feet wet, don't worry). The views of downtown are pretty, and there are plenty of seating areas. Definitely recommend!

Robert Brownlee (A.K.A. Junior)

This little hangout area is absolutely perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. So proud of the city for making such fantastic open green spaces and places to hang out on the river. Kid safe / family friendly. Easily accessed from the bike path / East Village. Plan to get your feet wet. Occasional ducks.

Bethany

We love this area and place!! We spent time here last 3 weekends in a row

Tynan Allan

Beautiful place and a family park

Ryan Bergsma

Great park. Kids love the playground! Its never over crowded, even on warm days. Love the little water area coming off from the bow, nice and shallow for the kids to play in and cool off after the playground.

January Kohli

Very cute and well-designed island park that is relatively newer to Calgary. They have cool art pieces throughout (such as the lighting display on the West of the island). There is a small rock/pebble beach that kids and dogs alike enjoy. There is a large play ground and a huge sledding hill that sometimes has events going on such as movie nights in the park. There is also a fire pit at the top of the hill. There are numerous chairs/benches/picnic tables around to enjoy an afternoon out and in the summer, the Paddle Station has a raft drop off station here. All in all, very well designed and convenient park in the East Village.

David Balfour

The island looks nothing like it did 10 years ago. Amazing work has been done and even a new wet land marsh added.. climing wall for kids.. good play ground.. amazing places to have cooking fire. Parking is not free except sundays

Carina Kwok

A beautifully redeveloped island park with lots of different spaces to enjoy. There is a children's playground, wading area, a picnic area with tables and small cooking grates.

Jenna L

Like a heaven

Bonivacia Seriulina

Great little playground! Aimed at slightly older kids (5+) I think.

Shane Meers

Nice place

Rami F.F

My second favourite park to walk in Calgary. It's not crowded, nicely secluded except for the hum of Memorial Dr. traffic (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and also hosts outdoor movies on occasion.

Tom K

Beautiful park in the centre of Calgary near the Bow River

Mat Knopp

The city gob, can do better than this little castle playground.

Nupur Panchal

Rudolpho Arroyo (El RENO)

Beautiful shoers as well

St.Patricks Island is my favorite relaxation place.

Osasu Elaiho

Great place to come for a relaxing day. There are good restaurants that are allowing patio dine-in. The walk next to the river is gorgeous. Kids will love this place. Saw few BBQ benches as well, which means picnic. Alert: may encounter coyotes, please take care of your pets

Tanveer Kaur

This widely varied park has much to offer. Bicycles are only allowed on the paved paths, while walkers can stroll the extensive gravel paths. Bathrooms are cleaned every two hours. Picnic areas have bbqs and multiple tables. We played at the natural playground. It has a gravel base, two swings, a see saw, balance platforms, a spinning log, climbing wall, and an enclosed climber that looks like a tent with a tunnel leading to a rope bridge. It's well laid out with lots of seating. Very fun!

Linda Tyler

This place is great for the Kids

Jay Kruzliak

Beautiful park for a walk along the river, with great play areas for kids and wonderful spots to picnic

Newton Hislop

Always a nice time, would be nicer if parking were free.

Louise Dormaar

We live in east village and regularly visit the island. I didn’t get the chance to see it before the flood but they have done a fantastic job. Our kids love to be immersed in nature and also have access to play areas.

Alex Jennett

Beautiful natural park.

Chris Deschaine

Really nice park.

Omidullah Qurishe

I love this park! It's very easy to get to as lost past and has easy access to the river in many spots. I bring my dog here regularly. It is not an off-leash Park which is one of the reasons I bring my dog here the most.

Jeremy Brown

Great park, finally addresses the slide issue with a nice rock climbing wall that my kids loved

Luke Kaye

People are friendly kids play well together

Kay C

Very cool little park. Reminds me of the wood parks from my childhood that don't really exist anymore

Adrian Blazevic

Amazing place for a walk around the city while feeling part of nature. The bow river is beautiful. Lots of pathways. Options to rent electric scooters and bikes. Fun little playground with rock climbing. Cute little cafe's. Really nice views of the city and a great bridge.

Great experience. Serene environment

D M

A haven for escaping the crazy city life for a little bit and enjoy it in a such nice green space. And being beside the bow river is a great bonus and very relaxing. Parking is paid unless, if you are willing to walk for 15 minutes and park for free.

Sabrina P

We take care of this and much more with green Meadows

Chris Van Zwam

It is a wonderful park with so many place grounds for children and beautiful walking trails as well. However, there are some games that children were needed adult's supervision. In conclusion, it is a good place for parent to hang out with kids

dammie agbaje

Awesome little gem, lived here most of my life, I never visited this place before. Family loved it. Not as busy as Prince's Island.

Great park for biking, walking, and picnics.

Paolo Santiago

beautiful park to walk and see the river and abundant nature, with playground for children BBQ and bike paths

S Pock

Very Beautiful Park, Great place for a little afternoon stroll. Clean & well maintained.

Tristan Court

Great place to walk and explore. Bathrooms were decent. Pathways were clean. Water you can wade into. Really cool toboggan hill in the winter!

Angela sager

It's a good spot for a stroll and picnic. There are plenty of picnic benches and benches to sit around the park. It has a small and nice play area for kids. I was pleased to spot a infant swing for my baby. It has good spots for photographs. It has nice beach like area where everyone can enjoy ! I recommend it!

Phat Huynh Huu

Fabulous park so close to downtown. This park is a hidden gem. Many people I talk to have no idea it is here. This park is huge, has a great amount of shade with large mature trees, a wonderful wading area for those hot days, a fun rolling hill in the summer and sledding in the winter. The playground has something for all ages of children. The newly renovated concrete slide is too fast for many so be a little cautious on the first run. This park is also fabulous for a nice walk with lots of scenery and places to stop.

Stefan Tank

This is my children's favourite spot in the city. They are far from the only kids powerless to resist getting wet and having fun in the water.
