This Zoo corresponds to the category of Farm.
This is the saddest place I have ever been to. The animals are not well looked after and don’t seem happy at all. The chickens are kept in tiny cages with no where to have a dust bath. They had a giant pig that was kept on a cold concrete floor with no hay or mud to roll in and no other pigs for company. The staff are incredibly rude and abrasive. It’s blatantly obvious that it’s sole purpose is money making. My 10 year old daughter left in tears because of the neglect of the animals we witnessed. The place should be closed down. It’s atrocious. We will never go back there.
My son loves this place!
Small farm. Your time starts at the top of the hour and end 45 minutes later. So you better be there on time. If you are 10 min late, you only get to remaining 35 minutes to spend in the farm.
Awesome experience for kids.
The staff are rude.. but good place to pet animals and introduce kids to animals
My kids loved the place but I saw dogs without the leash that made me uncomfortable.
Lovely afternoon trip with the family. Great pony ride, even out in the rain. My 5 yr old son loved it.
Large, well maintained space. This is great for younger children. There isn't a large variety of animals for older children.
It's a small petting zoo good for small kids. This used to be free but now charge a $2 admission.
Good place to bring the kids to see farm animals, touch them, feed them. Lots of varieties of chickens, and other birds/fowl. Goats and lambs super friendly.
Really nice staff, our daughter had a blast with the animals and she absolutely loved the pony ride. We will be coming back during Christmas for the horse and carriage ride for the family.
Lots of ppl were upset that they started charging admission which i feel is ridiculous. You get plenty to see for a small fee. This year they have made many improvements to the enclosures and even added a small playground. Great work guys!
A wonderful, inexpensive outing!
Very fun experience, our toddler enjoyed feeding the animals and to be honest we the adults did too. Friendly staff Highly recommended for little hangout with the little ones
Fun place to take Lil ones
The good farm
This place is absolutely amazing. Be sure to adhere to the rules of what you can and cannot bring to feed the animals, it is enforced (as it should be!). Definitely bring food with you rather than purchase it there to feed the animals. The staff are friendly and we always have a great time when we visit
Admission is only $2 and you can bring your own food to feed the animals which is fun. Although all animals are in enclosure and are hard to pet, and it would be good for them to get some shade
Very fun for kids
Not a big farm as expected but worth for the money payed. The peacock was really in good mood ????...
This was a great little farm to see a variety of animals.
Wonderful for the kiddos.
Amazing place for kids. Visited with my kids on weekdays as there is no slot available on weekends. Owners are very passionate and professional. Animals are so adorable and the place is very clean. You can not eat anything at the place which allow to keep it clean. Important tips - if you are going for pony ride, make sure you reach on time as they are heavily booked so you will lose your time. Will be visiting again soon
Best farm ever! Friendly staff cute animals! Best farm for party!
Just an average place for a one time visit Not that great as mentioned in the other reviews. The animals are all very old. The only healthy animals I was able to spot were deer, ducks, goat and sheep. The peacock has shed most of its feathers and is almost white now. The play structures are all rusted. Don't go with great expectation.
This is not a farm where you can touch the animals. They are all behind cages. My kids really wanted to play with some rabbits and they are all behind cages like everything else Theres no running water and nowhere to wash your hands or drink some wate. There is no food. They don't let you leave to go have lunch and come back. $16 for one adult and 2 kids (3 and 7) It's pretty disgusting to have portable toilet and animals that you touch through a cage and have nowhere to wash your hands. Just need a hose and some soap.
Excellent place for kids. Kids enjoy feeding the animals. Clean and excellent maintenance. Myself and family have visited this place 3 times especially for my kids to experience the petting of animals. Entry fee is very minimal.
Absolutely disguasting customer service!! Worst I have experienced in a really, really long time. We were a little late (who hasn't been late with little kids, I have a 16months old) and the girl at the front was extremely rude. We asked if we could stay a little bit longer so that the kids could have at least enough time to see all the animals and got an extremely rude "no" for an answer. Then we requested to have a credit issued or to reschedule for another time, since there really wasn't enough time for us. In response, we were told that there is a rescheduling fee. She and the other worker that was there, would not explain why the fee was being charged and stated that "it was the people who own the farm who charge it". Both workers' attitude was so outrageous that I asked to speak to the manager. That was a failed attempt also. After asking numerous times for the name of the manager/owner, the girl at the front pointed to the other worker stating that he is the actual owner. This genteleman, just stood there with a smirk. As a result, we only had fifteen minutes to walk around and the experience was ruined by the staff anyways. Very, very disappointing. We drove for 40 minutes to get there. Not a good way to conduct a business. Disgraceful. Will never go back and will let everyone I know not to return there again.
Friendly animals great for kids
A few animals and small space, but good to go if you have small kids and they enjoy watching animals
Blair and family hosted our daughter's birthday party. It was excellent. All the kids had a great time. Few baby animals too which was a hit. Lucky the Pony was so sweet with the children
Nice place for kids
Mostly friendly animals Including pigs goats cows llamas chickens and many more.
It's a really nice place to visit and enjoy the view
Lovvvv it.
Place is good for small children. Please follow guidelines for types of food to bring for the animals.
rude staff ... they should mention that this farm is like catching a flight in their website ..we were asked to leave in 10 minutes from entry ..we even said there is no one waiting can we take 10 minutes more but were asked to leave ...staffs act like they are doing a favour to us by letting us in .. never will recommend to anyone ...
Great place to hangout. Very calm and relaxing place for a change. Dont forget to take some baby carrots or lettuce.????
Every time I’ve had to deal with Lionel Farm customer service it’s just been terrible. In December I had booked for the Private Family Christmas at the Farm we had a family member die of covid unexpectedly & we forgot about it our minds were just so wrapped up. We didn’t even realize we forgot till days after so I called them to explain & apologized. We weren’t expecting anything in return but the response we got from the man who answered the phone he told us “we should have let him know”. We let it go. But now I had accidentally booked the petting Zoo for May & realized after I had booked they were closed during the month of May because of covid. I reached out via email & then they had rescheduled me for June 3rd which is a Thursday the original date I had put was for a Saturday. So I had asked if we could reschedule for a Saturday as per my original request they then told me I had to pay a 5.00 rescheduling fee. WHATTT!?!?!?
We love going to Lionel's farm as a family and feeding and petting the animals. Make sure to make reservations online before going due to covid. It's less crowded and you can spend more time with the animals.
This restaurant has some of the freshest and most flavorful food in the area. The food is creative and fun and I like that the menu is small! We always get two or three courses and just enjoy. It is pricey but worth every penny! Try brunch on Sunday which is reasonably priced and still awesome! Can't wait to go back.
Price is not updated. And very rud staff. Its was out second time and the last time.
Clean, very cheap and staff was very nice and helpful. Really enjoyed the visit (been there twice!)
Lionel's farm is a great place for kids to come. Lionel's is known for being a pony farm (rides are $5). They have rabbits, goats, chickens, roosters, peacocks, ducks, donkeys, llamas and a huge pig and sheep. There is the opportunity for the kids to feed the animals. You can also bring fruits and vegetables from home to feed the animals but all food will be inspected as you enter the farm. A great afternoon of family fun!
Lovely farm run by lively people. Well taken care of animals. Beautiful pony rides. Whole process is easy and simple.
Horrible customer service from the blonde/brunette lady. She advised me not to feed the animals because I had a homemade baked bread for my baby which is fine. I insisted that he's hungry and I would definitely not feed it to the animals. She made a rude comment and said loudly behind my back "then you should of not come at this time". This lady is TERRIBLE. Her attitude was horrible and she does not seem like she enjoyed her work. My mood was bright before I entered and she has ruined it.
I agree with others with the negative comments. My child is SN with a handicap permit. We park at the handicap parking spot, the first thing the old lady at the front told us not to park there because is for handicap (WITHOUT CHECKING THAT WE HAVE A PERMIT). I told the older lady, my child is handicap, she kinda scan him up and down while I was holding him. First off, handicap does NOT equal kids are in wheelchair. Never assume. Secondly, we asked the older lady, do you have any special price for SN kids. She told me "oh is just $3" . Well, your price has increased from free to $2 to $3 to now $5 . Not really worth to visit anymore. Animals are awesome, staffs are just not very friendly.
Really fun place to stop with the kids. Was there on a weekday, wasn’t crowded at all. The kids loved feeding the animals and playing on the playground.
Great place to introduce your little ones to a good variety of animals. They also have a play ground with some interesting and fun facilities to keep the younger kids entertained. We visited on a weekday and did not have any parking problem. Staff were cool and friendly. The farm is well-kept and clean. Will surely go back again!
Had a wonderful time at the farm. The animals look well cared for and my son and daughter got to ride the sweetest pony. Feeding the animals was a treat too, so nice to be able to bring carrots and make that a part of the experience.I will definitely visit again. The owner was so kind and welcoming. Great family experience.
Very kind owners/operators. I suggest going early when the animals are hungry instead of mid day when it's busy and they are less interested. Also lettuce was a bigger hit than carrot. Will try celery and apples next visit.
Super kids friendly, very economical, super fun place for kids especially..
Nice place for the kidlet to spend the day. He loved the animals. And there pony ride was a huge hit (once we could pry him away from the little playground right beside it). Fun and affordable! I'd recommend it.
We had a great day at Lionel Farm and kids loved the animal. A fun day for them and amazing experience. We will go again next summer. I do recommend this farm.
Great place to take kids. Always bring lettuce, carrots or sliced apple to fees animals
Great place for toddlers
Great place to feed the animals. All 3 kids had a blast! And very cheap admission $2 to get in. Highly recommend it to families, looking for something fun.
What a fantastic time! Our family just finished an awesome morning visiting and feeding all the animals. Pony rides were a fantastic addition to the fun but be warned, your kids won’t want to leave . The animals were surprisingly gentle when my 4 and 2 year old was feeding them baby carrots, bread and lettuce. The sheep were awesome and the goats were a good laugh. The cost to get in was extremely reasonable. Highly highly recommend this farm fun for all families.
It's a fun spot to take (smaller kids). There is a variety of animals and we'll definitely bring them back
Great for the price. Toddler LOVED it. Nice you get to feed the animal but no touching.
I like the Lama there and kids love the pony ride.
Love visiting this place???? love the baby sheep especially..So cute & loving ???? would love to visit again & spend some quality petting time. Amazing experience ✨
Great spot to bring the kids. I’d bring them again.
Nice place
It was nice, the kids enjoyed their time there.
I have been to Lionels before but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had here. I booked a reservation for myself, my husband and my son today for 3pm until 4pm. We arrived a bit late due to our covid vaccine appointments running late. One of the employees came up to us at 3:40 telling us we had to leave after we spent $40 between the food for the animals and our reservation. The employee was extremely rude and followed us around until we left. I am so disappointed in my experience today.
It's a nice place - perfect for our family - not to mention it's free. But I strongly recommend anyone visits this place to donate whatever he/she can just to show appreciation. It's so nice for them to open up their property for kids! I never get to meet the owner so I can't comment on the "racism" comment that other user had. There are plenty of different color of people come and go everyday, I myself didn't see any sign of no-welcoming ( I am minority).
Christmas lights were OMG. You tell me what you think?:) if you ever have been impressed by three flashlights firing at the same time then this is the place for you:))))
My favorite place to be. I love the animals!!
The drive to this location is great, with farms all around the area. Small Farm, but great animals. Small Kids (3y-9y)will surely like it. Farm animals like Lama, Cows, Sheep, Goat we can actually touch and feel them licking your hands as you feed them your vegetables. Make sure you check the website for the list of items you can feed. They do check all the bags to make sure only the correct food is given to the animals. Deers, pigs, Emu, birds were in enclosures so we can get very close to them. There were some farm birds I had seen for the first time. The original smell of farm is also great, (for some). Down side The place is small, so you can complete the visit in 30 min or one hour depending on the amount of food you get . In my opinion, the ducks were not so active. The water they drink was green in colour and the eggs were not removed from their pen. Wish they got some more space. Normally ducks need a lot of space to move and water to swim. The peacocks had most of their feathers gone. Do not know why. The pony rides was closed for some reason. But do get a lot of veggies & bread as you can. Its fun to feed the animals
don't like the fact that you have to pay now. to feed their pets
Excellent experience. Fun for the whole family. Friendly staff and animals. Couldn't give 5 stars for 2 reasons: Food bag has very little in it. Needed to buy 2 food bags. Also, more signage on McCowan would be great on both the north and south of Lionel's Farm.
Great place
Good place for walking kids
Great little zoo but not a petting zoo. Really would have loved to snuggle those adorable bunnies. Luckily the sheep were okay with some quick head pats. Definitely will be back.
Easy and sweet place, 1-3 hours easier to stay, let kids play inside, bring greens to service animals
It’s not a big farm and the only attraction was the limited number of animals, plus the time limit of 45 minutes per visit doesn’t make it all worth the long drive.
Wonderful for the kiddos.
V love going here
Loved going here to take my 3 yr old daughter for a pony ride and to support the farm. Super nice and friendly staff and lots of friendly animals to see and feed.
Nice farm animals and awesom Pony ride for kids. Staff are friendly
A fun afternoon… will definitely return.
Fun.
Great experience in this place with kids!
So many animals to feed. Great for young children. Bring lettuce, carrots and bread with you and the animals will eat out of your hand. Only $2 per person!
Great place and reasonably priced
Kids love it. We go pretty much every weekend in the summer. Easy to keep an eye on the kids and very inexpensive.
You can feed the animal iceberg lettuce, bread, carrot. It’s fun farm for young kids.
With covid you need an appointment. We booked yesterday for today. It was very well organized. They allow everyone in at the same time then you have roughly 45 minutes and they ask you to leave so the next group can come in. Feed bags are an additional $5.00. Entrance cost was $20 for 3 of us. (Any group 3 of less is $20). My only “issue” is there is another farm, not far, Carma Farms, which is free (except for a bag of feed is $5.00). It isn’t as nice, but.. it’s free. It also has sheep, goats, cows, ducks, and pigs. Lionel’s also has lots of chickens, a few peacocks, and some deer. So it’s really dependant on what you are looking for. We would go back to Lionel’s.
Horrible experience, bad customer service starting with front desk folks.
My toddler had a ball with the animals and riding a pony... Weather was also nice! So we all enjoyed.
Overprice for what it offers. Not worth the fee they charge of $20. To feed the animals they charge another 5 dollars for handful of grains. Did not appreciate that they ask you to leave after 1 hour. It wasnt even busy. Just no courtesy. Its all about making money for them. Will never go back.
Fabulous place lovely people beautiful day couldn't be happier
The old white lady who is the owner is a racist. This petting zoo is open to the public but by the look on her face, minorities are not welcome but she cannot blatantly put it out there. We were chased off the farm like wild goats treppassing on green pastures.all because it was a very hot day and we took refuge from the sweltering heat under one of her shade trees. She asked us to leave her private property and further insulted us by asking us if we cannot read. She said that she will escort us off the property so we do not lose our way. I maintained my composure as my kids were present. So I refused to argue with her. I am deeply saddened by her behavior and attitude especially I'm this day and age.
Cute little petting farm. Not that big, only spend 45 mins there. You get to feed the animals.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO COME TO THIS FARM. READ OTHER COMMENTS AND U CAN EASILY FIND THE SAME REASON. Everything is ok EXCEPT THE OLD LADY AT PONY RIDE WAS SO RUDE KEPT YELLING AT EVERYONE!! Said we were the second one not following rules to take pictures on the track during pony ride and told us to leave. What do I have to do with another unknown stranger taking picture as well before us? But here's the real question: why did we both family take pictures during the pony ride? Because that's a normal thing every family would do to capture the precious moment with our children while no one told us we couldn't do that. Then she questioned the young staff and blamed her not telling us beforehand. So just put a big damn sign at the entrance listing all the damn rules like everyone else does. Your staff also didn't tell me we could do two rounds from every ticket. Yelling at my wife not to pull the pony hard enough while the pony refused to move. I yelled back at her saying couldn't she see her hand was injured while her hand was wrapped up, then she yelled at me questioning why was I not pulling instead. Because apparently I was holding a 9 months old in my arms and I did that on the last ticket ride so my wife would like to pull on this ride. Is that also another damn rule ya farm decides which parent to pull the horse? And u IRRESPONSIBLE people trying to get away from the visitors' injuries and refused to pull the horse and forced the untrained parents to pull the horse instead. There are lots of farms also open for public near ya farm, so u are not the only one. Mind ya BS attitude especially in front of all the children.
I thought it was bigger... but me and my family had lots of fun, great for kids, and they have pony rides which are very clean and calm, my daughter had lots of fun and will gladly make it as a regular visit.
Great local place pet farm for everyone. There is an admin fee of 3 dollars per head (under 1 is free) and you can bring baby carrots, apple, lettuce and bread to feed (can’t feed anything else). My suggest long is to bring lettuce as it is long and easier to feed animal.
Great people. Well managed and clean
Fun times for kids but there's no shade so can get warm for the kids
Perfect for little ones...
Just awesome fun for the kids and family outing. Great staff.
Very friendly staff ???? My grandkids loved pony ride and petting zoo. Good fun for kids. Thank you!!!
Great experience for kids, but be sure to supervise the kids, lots of danger inherent at any farm
That older guy who works there is so rude, has no customer service and is a bit creepy. I don't know if he is the owner, (I hope not) but after my niece finished riding the pony and I was showing her around, we walked up to a statue near the entrance and he told us we can't be there because it is private property (this was the area where we originally were waiting to ride the pony because we had a time slot). Then I took her to the fence to show her a deer and I saw he was standing behind something, peaking at us to see what we were doing, then the rest of my family walked towards us and we started walking away toward the entrance of the place because at this point we wanted to go to the zoo part and then he walked up to us but specifically singled me out and said, "can I help you?" in a rude, annoying way, as if I was a random intruder walking on private property and had no idea who I was or what I am doing there! Learn how to be a bit more personable and have proper customer service!
Excellent experience! They were super patient and very very polite. My 2 year was scared of the pony ride and ended it fairly quickly. They went out of their way to entertain him and let him pet the bunny just so he'd have a good experience. Very happy! Looking forward to going back soon!
Excellent place
Great people, great farm, great time for families.
Great place to hangout. Very calm and relaxing place for a change. Dont forget to take some baby carrots or lettuce.????
This is my favourite place to be. Fun for kids and adults. They have an array of animals, you can buy little cones full of food to feed the animals for only 3$, all the animals are adorable, friendly, enjoy being pet, and well kept. This is a great place for a family outing.
Not the place I would take kids, small farm and no running water to wash your hands, and the animal variety are fewer than other petting farms where there is plenty of running water. They like to be condescending to the visitor, though I suppose sometimes you need to have something to look forward to.
Great time for a family with young kids. This family farm definitley works hard, especially hard during the Covid situation.
Drove 2 hours to get here for the staff to deny a pony ride to my 3 kids. Very salty staff with bad attitudes. Zoo was good, staff were not!
Amazing ????
Awesome place. So much fun for the kids. Thank you. .
Great fun for kids & adults too! Bring lettuce, baby carrot, celery for the animals!
Excellent place for kids very fun
Awesome farm with animal feeding. Good for young kids.
(Translated) It's good for small children to go and play. (Original) 작은아이들이가서 놀기좋아요
Super fun for children. Well enclosed too.
Nice place to spend and hour or so with the kids at a very low cost.
Petting Farm - The place is relatively clean and is being take care of. Good verity of animals. Nice staff. The net on the fence is very small, what makes it very difficult to feed the animals. It also makes it very difficult to pet the animals. You could reach the animals over the fence, but kids are not able to do so because of their hight. You pay to get in and then you pay extra to get a very small bag of food that can be used to feed the animals. Overall, more expensive than similar farms. My kids were out in 20 mins complaining. We visited the Carma Farm the same day. My kids enjoyed at Carma Farm much more and for less.
great place for family activity. lots of animals to see and feed. bring veggies from home to feed them. otherwise, they do sell food for you to feed the animals.
My kids enjoyed the farm. Pony rides, and feeding the animals was so much fun! I wish I knew that I could bring my own food like lettuce and cabbage!! Well for next time I know what to take for those farm animals.
Great fun place to bring your kids, well kept and friendly staff.
small zoo. but clean and nice.
Was amazing trip Nancy gabby
Wonderful place for kids
Reserved our time online and arrived a few minutes early. I recommend buying the feed it was a ton of fun for our kids. The staff was well organised sanitizer was available on entry and exit. My kids especially liked the spotted deer.
PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU COME. Brown haired man with mustache and a very fat man who were staffing the admission booth was very rude and criticized the food we brought. The animals are badly treated by them with very dirty water and stink smell all around. If you do not want your family get sick. PLEASE DO NOT COME.
Nice little farm with everything you expect with a petting farm, kids loved it and best of all they have a lama and a peacock
Very well managed. Friendy staff.
Paid for pack of 5 people (56$) which was supposed to include a group ride for 30 minutes, but it turned out that my two kids had to ride alternately sharing these 30 minutes which was 15 minutes only for two people. We noticed this scam too late.
All the animals were so beautiful. Admission is reasonable: $3. Can buy food there, or bring your own (for the animals). Its a small farm (nothing compared to an actual zoo) It was very hot the day I visited and I felt bad for the animals that didn't have much shade or anything to help cool them down. Like another reviewer mentioned, I would also like to see the animals have an abundant amount of fresh clean drinking water readily available. Especially on such hot days, it is absolutely necessary! I hope the animals are treated well, they mostly look healthy and comfortable, aside from the heat. I'm not sure if its okay for birds to be enclosed in such small spaces where they can't really fly around, this made me sad seeing them cooped up together like that.
Nice little farm and reasonably priced . Kids love coming here and enjoying the animals
Truly a relaxing experience, away from the hussle and bussle in the city.
Truly a relaxing experience, away from the hussle and bussle in the city.
Missing ???? and alpacas, only one available at the time of visit.
A few animals but you get 15 -20 mins in there for $16 / person and then they kick you out. I can here before but now seems like a money grab. Go to another farm.
Our experience at the Lionels Farm was wonderful. Our daughter really enjoyed her time there. She loved the pony ride, and feeding the animals. The farm is very clean, and automatic sanitizer is available at the entrance. You can feed the animals: lettuce, carrots, apple, bread or celery. Our 25 months old daughter visits the farm on Saturdays, and she gets the foods all washed and ready to go on Friday night. Thank you so much Lionels Farm for letting us visit your farm.
Everyone was very friendly and exercised the best precautions against Covid19 spread. It was a very enjoyable experience. We'd definitely love to go back again.
Very nice place for family visit!
Fantastic pony experience today! My toddler and I had a great time! Everyone at the farm was very friendly and professional and all covid safety precautions were taken! Will definitely return!
Nice farm animals for kids to have loads of fun in feeding and plsying with them
Perfect little petting farm for little ones. We had feeding the sheep and ducks and our daughter loved it. Worth a visit!
We used to come here every month or so to feed the animals with our then 2-3 years old. Unfortunately, they started changing the feeding rule to limit the amount of lettuce we could bring. Now with COVID, timed tickets that allow visits to be 40 min visits must be bought ahead and all food must be purchased through them. The food includes 3 ice cream cones and some bird feed. I also believe that pony rides aren't available from the website because it was a Friday. Today was a hot day and it was noon time, I didn't notice many shelter areas or overhangs for the animals. There's also less animals out than pre COVID, so maybe they weren't all released out because of the heat which is a good thing. Just something to bear in mind when expecting there to be more animals like before shutdown. Today we went as a group of 11 people, including little kids. They definitely enforced the timed tickets and got everyone to leave on the dot for crowd control. As much as crowd control is appreciated for COVID purposes, it's a bit hard to march like a machine at times. When we were outside, another timed group of people were already coming in. Definitely it's helpful for crowd control but also felt more for profit reasons. It's understandable for many places after lockdowns but again, it's a bit shocking since we used to come often pre COVID. In terms of COVID health, there's room for people to walk around but there's no disinfection for the now limited play areas or hand sanitizers other than at the front. As much as it's outdoors, kids and adults can still swarm together close and there's most individuals who don't wear masks.
Good place to visit and kids really enjoy it. The people were very friendly to approach
Great for little kids, very reasonable.
A good place to bring your kids there. Must have more staffs to educate people who disregard the rules. I keep seeing people giving wing type of food to animals
This place very good for young kids
I was so excited to take my kids here since I came here as a child . . But the manager there names Carrie made my visit a terrible experience . . From the moment we arrived to pay to enter she made a sideways comment about my carrots being old when it was the same carrots we use at home . . I let that comment go until she showed up at the pony rides just when my family was going to ride and said “no pictures . . Ride is over!” When I hadn’t even been told not to take pictures on the trail. She kept going on about following the rules and I let her know that I respect rules very well but if the rules aren’t communicated properly how are we to guess what they are. She made me EXTREMELY upset and ruined the whole experience and nostalgia I had for the place. I came out of there in tears as my child almost didn’t get to ride which was the thing she was looking forward to most. This is a place for children and though I understand rules are there for safety, they should do a better job communicating them and not attack people verbally and threaten their experience.
Nice place to come with young kids! The petting zoo has a range of animals!
Sad that it's no longer open to the public????
I had a terrible experience there for the reason that unlike most petting zoo's/farms there is no where you can actually go into an enclosed area with many of the animals to actually pet them. To my mistake I wasn't aware of this and had to deal with an EXTREMELY rude women who I can only assume is the owner. It's a small depressing place and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone, don't waste your gas money. If you actually want to see animals, take your children to the zoo. I regret donating what money I had in my wallet to them. A fun place that I would suggest is elmville zoo near wassaga beach, it has a petting zoo area with miniature goats and would be a blast for kids.
Good local place to take little kids to get their animal-fix!
Amazing place to hang out with the family.
Visited the petting zoo. Wish they have more varieties of animals. Make sure you get some true free run eggs while you are there!
So close to the city. Clean and family friendly. Great for small children.
Honestly, the best farm and the best staff. We absolutely enjoy our time every time rgat we go there.
Great place to bring the family. They've got plenty of farm animals to see and feed. Especially love the alpacas and baby deer. Due to COVID reservations are in 1 hr slots but plenty of time to enjoy everything they have to see.
very bad
Fun place to take Lil ones
Cute
Nice place to bring the kids to see a few farm animals.
Great outing for the kids and great price!
**ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK** I declined to take my family on the tour we paid for on-line today, as I witnessed countless people, both adults and children, not wearing masks and not maintaining appropriate distance from each other.
The best place to visit ????????????
It is disappointing to see a lovely farm staffed by people who are rude. Brown haired man with mustache who was staffing the admission booth was rude and abrupt to the family in front of us and to us. He demanded payment immediately (no hello, no good morning) and criticized the food we brought. There are more cordial ways of greeting customers and communicating his concerns: a simple hello and explanation that "sorry that food isn't ideal" would have been fine. You don't need to put down people that have driven a long ways to learn from your facilities and contribute to your revenue. Suggest you reassess who is staffing this booth as it gives your business a terrible first impression.
It was nice place for kids to see animals close. Unfortunately very humid day to stay long out side for kids.
All safety protocols in place. Great for kids. Make sure to reserve a time slot online. 5 people max per time slot. Bags of animal food provided at $5/each. Bring your mask, have fun!
Bring your own carrots, bread or lettuce to feed the animals. Great for kids. Horses goats Ducks geese deer pigs sheep cows chickens peacocks and lots of birds. Pony rides. Small playground too.
Very close and cozy. Friendly staff and clean bathroom
after feeding animals for 45 minutes, my 4 year old was just looking at the horse statue in front of their farm.. the farm management team told these exact words ‘We don’t let people monger around, after visiting the farm you will have to leave’ it made my son cry..
I really enjoyed going here pre-COVID. They have a really interesting collection of animals. However with the new reservation system, you can only stay 45 min. $30 is quite a lot for a family of 4 to visit for such a short time. I also wasn't very impressed with the $5 bag of animal feed that consisted of 4 ice cream cones. Animals aren't meant to eat ice cream cones. It would have been better if they provided corn or some vegetables in their animal feed bags.
It's not what I expect. You get a very short time slot, no activities, play areas for the kids. This being geared towards kids there should be a better washroom facility. There is nowhere to wash your hands. The animal will eat from your hands, which is awesome. But, then you have nowhere to wash your hands. Not worth it al all.
Nice place for the kids to run around and feed the farm animals.
Kids had a good time. Staff were friendly and could properly social distance from the other families. Don't be late, 40 minute time limit. Wish that had been a little more obvious on the site when purchasing tickets, but still had a good time.
Lots of different animals. great for kids.
Great place to bring the kids. Check their website and bring the vegetables from home to feed the animals. Best time to come is right after they open, because after being fed for a while most animals simply go for a nap or are not that much interested in the visitors anymore. They also have pony rides available ???? for toddlers and small kids
Great people and a wonderful local attraction.
Like it wish for even more pets
My son enjoyed it
Great farm and amazing staff! Gives the little ones something fun to do!
Fun times at Lionels! For the kids and whole family ????
My kids live it here, lots for them to see.
Cute little place with lots of farm animals. Not much alse to do with the kids but feed the animals. It cost $18 for 2 adults and 1 kid. Some of the animals looks abit off especially the deers. It was ok.
Fantastic place to bring the kids. Very cheap entrance fees, but surprisingly, the farm is very clean and the staff are super friendly. Both of the kids enjoyed the time there (especially the pony rides) and have already asked to go back. We did visit on a weekend before the schools had been let out, so perhaps when we go back, it will be busier, but would definitely bring them back again.
Hidden gem.
Poor experience!! Rude staff! Unreasonable price!! 2 adults and 1baby they charged $30+tax for 20mins! I went there at 2:20 on Tuesday, one of the staff( an old woman) stared chasing me out at 2:40! If you tell me clearly in advance that I paid $30+tax only for 20mins, I wouldn’t go in! Never recommended! They didn’t put their price list out too!
Great place to visit with kids. The petting/feeding zoo was great with certain foods like carrots, salad, apples being allowed to be fed to the animals. Admission was $2 and 1 round for a pony ride, $5.
Cute place to take young kids to.
Lionel's farm used to be free. Then they decided to charge $2 per person. That was understandable to help cover their operational costs. This year they have raised it to $3 plus HST---rather a hefty raise from the original fee especially since it's a very small farm that does not consume much time to spend there. Originally it was a nice place for a quick family visit but since there are no breaks in cost for families, it will not encourage people to make repeated visits. How can the owners justify such a steep hike in price ?
Great time for the kids for very little money. (It's not free any more, but I really don't mind). Lots of animals to feed. Lots of parking (and you can legally and safely park on the side of the road too if needed). Highly recommend. A fraction of the cost of many of the kids farm experiences around and the kids have just as much fun.
Fed animals baby carrots. Left with all my fingers. It was a good day.
Great family outing
An inexpensive way to entertain your kids for a long time! Admission is cheap, you can bring your own food for the animals (apples, baby carrots, etc) which they will check at the gate to ensure it's not something that will make the animals sick. A variety of animals from sheep and goats, to llamas, bunnies, a pig, emu, deer, rabbits, turkeys, ducks, chickens, peacocks and other fowl. A slide and a few other things for the kids to play on as well.
Good place to spend couple of hours with the family. Kids love feeding the animal and pony rides.
Used to be a nice short stopover for kids as it is a just small farm with not a lot of animals. But recent years, they increased the admission from free to $2, $3, and now $5! Not that $5 is a lot per person, but there are just so many options if you really want to spend a day with your family and kids. Going to an actual zoo might make more sense if an activity for the day is what your family is looking for.
Great place for families edp kids.
Cute farm where you can bring your own food (celery, carrots, bread) to feed the animals. They have sheep, cows, goats, pigs, deer and other animals. Cheap, family fun.
Unacceptably Rude. Mood ruined for the entire family. Will not go again or recommend to anyone. Below in the reviews I can see we are not the only ones who had this experience: "The guy in the front booth (petting zoo) is really unbelievably rude. Quite possibly the rudest person I've encountered in the whole of GTA" ... I would add: rudest I ever met.
The owner is being so rude and Unrespectful . The place is soo dirty and smelly. Will never come to this place. So bad experience.
Pretty cool petting zoo. Don’t need much time there. Maybe 45-60 minutes to see everything. Great for small children.
It’s a very small farm. Nothing much to explore. Many birds are very old. Was a bit disappointed ☹️
Beautiful experience for kids and adults. Very friendly staffs. My kids had a great time feeding and petting the animals
Great little farm with a variety of kid-friendly animals to feed and interact with. Came early on the weekend and was able to get a parking spot no problem, I noticed the lot was full an hour later when we left. Overall it was a good experience, definitely a great place for kids and animal lovers. I noticed after we left that the staff charged my 10-year-old sister with adult admission, wasn't too happy about that.
Great family owned farm
Kids loved feeding the animals
Awesome place for kids!
A great, cheap outing for the kids to experience and feed real farm animals.
Have been here twice already and both times my daughter has had the most fun. Feeding the animals or riding the pony. The pony ride was nice. Quite peaceful because of the environment around you. Definitely recommend.
Fun little place for kids. Pony rides and lots of farm animals. We'll be returning.
My kids enjoyed petty farming. If you have kids below 5 years they will enjoy it. Worth visiting.
We had the best time! The staff are so nice and helpful. Lots of fun!
We had the best time! The staff are so nice and helpful. Lots of fun!
Great petting farm with cute animals. My daughter and I were so happy to be able to feed the sheep, goats and donkey there. The animals are well taken care of. Great family time is spent there.
Very organized and clean. My toddler had fun with the animals and also with the cute rides they have inside. The petting zoo has a good variety of animals. They look well nourish and happy. You have to book bfore hand on their website the date and time of your visit. On site you biy the food for the animals (5dollars). I recoment the experience????
staff are rude
Unfortunately, we did not have an opportunity to experience this farm because it was raining extremely hard about 2 min after we got there, and the forecast called for heavy rain and lightning for the next 3 hrs. Instead of canceling and refunding us, they made us wait in the car for an endless amount of time in the hopes that it would get better. It did not. When discussing this with the owner and asking for at least a rain cheque, he rudely refused. Shame. Will not be back. His policies are ridiculous.
Clean and fun. Didn't have the fortune of meeting rude and racist owner but all other staff were friendly!!! Would go again!
Cheap, bring your own veggies for the animals, pony rides are great. The animals always look like they are well cared for. This place has been around forever.
Fun place for the kids with lots of animals to see. You can bring your own food to feed the animals or buy some there. There are also a couple play places for the kids. The grounds are fenced in so the kids can run around safely.
nice place for kids to explore!
Nice place for the kids & family. My child had good experience of pony riding and feeding carrots & celery to the animals.
A nice petting zoo in Markham-Stouffville border. You can spent an hour or so there. Bring baby carrots and bread to feed the animals. They also have pony rides.
We did my daughters birthday's here and had about 50 guests. It was very nice - the staff were amazing and the pony rides were a huge hit. Everyone loved it! Great for birthdays and even just to go for an afternoon.
$2 per person over 1 year old and completely worth it. Bring pre cut carrots to feed the animal
Everyone was very friendly and exercised the best precautions against Covid19 spread. It was a very enjoyable experience. We'd definitely love to go back again.
Fantastic for toddlers! Mine LOVED every inch of this place.
So much fun!
Was referred by my friend to come here he said it's a lot of fun for kids. My daughter loves it! We enjoyed too and have visited quite a few times now. She loves feeding all the animals. Great people running the farm. Very nice and clean. It's a nice small area so it's great for small children. Pony rides for $5. Make sure u take baby carrots and lettuce to feed the animals. Recently went again during covid. We did the pony ride which is $56.50 Carrie was our guide. She was really friendly and we had a good time with her. It's definitely worth the money for the pony ride, my daughter loved the longer scenic trail. We visited the animals in the petting farm after for 30 minutes it was nice. You can't bring your own food to feed the animals anymore, but you can purchase food to feed them which is great! We will continue to come to this farm for years.
Great experience for the little ones, timed entry so it wasn’t crowded. If you want to feed the animals you must buy the food from them, can’t bring your own carrots or veggies anymore.
Great place for a petting zoo. Lots of different types of animals. It has a 600 lb pig! COVID protocols in place as well. Great place to take your children to look and feed animals!
Very cute and nice little print zoo. People were very kind and welcoming. The little ones can't wait to come back and also try the pony rides. Make sure you book online before coming because they don't accept walk ins due to COVID prevention measures.
My toddler had a ball with the animals and riding a pony... Weather was also nice! So we all enjoyed.
Sad that it's no longer open to the public????
We always have fun here! Kids love it! The animals and birds are well kept and very cute. They have ponies, cow, donkeys, goats, ram, sheeps, rabbits, 1 gigantic pig, lots of different birds like peacocks, emu, chickens, roosters, turkeys, alpaca (our fave), deer, ducks, geese (who just had baby goslings), & llama. All the families who visit are so happy as they walk around taking photos and the kids are running around feeding the animals and playing in the small play area. Many bring their own food to feed the animals (ie. lettuce, carrots, apples, white bread) and they'll inspect it first prior entry to ensure it's safe for the animals. You can also buy animal feed in a cone for $2 - the animals love it! :) Great place to visit! Come often, it's worth going!
Super fun activity for the family.
A bit expensive comparing to the attractions and farm size.
Great for kids!
Private pony ride and animal viewing. We had a very enjoyable time. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The most wonderful lady did the pony ride for my 2 yr old. He had a great time riding the pony and quacking at the ducks. 30 mins was plenty of time and it was relaxing to have the barn for just our family. Highly recommended ????
After reading couple comments saying the owner is a Racist, I think the complain email I just wrote to them would probably not be responded. It was the same white woman who happened to be the guide of my kid's school field trip today. So I was waiting for the school bus to come(some of our parents were asked to drive to the farm bc of not enough space in school bus). She came to me starting questions like" someone tell me the bus is coming, it is coming?" I said oh yes, she went like "Then why you are here? DON't tell me it's coming when it's not..." in an UNEXPECTED rude tone and also asked things like how many cars parents would be driving here which I told her to ask school instead of me. I don't mind provide information and answer strangers' questions, but this is NOT a proper way talking to people. Plus we are the guests and we paid for the visit. Just like the other people commented in their reviews, if this owner wants to continue business in this area, she should learn how to deal with immigrants in an educated way. See my name, Yes, I am a Chinese. To be fair, I gave out two stars as the tour was okay and other guides were friendly.
So fun!!
Take a bunch of lettuce with you and u're good to go
Perfect for kids of all ages..... There's $2 admission fee and worth ten times over (from the kids reaction). Besides they have to up keep the place.
It’s a very small farm. Nothing much to explore. Many birds are very old. Was a bit disappointed ☹️
This was such a poor experience. The staff was rude, inconsiderate and if I'm being honest racist. The way these people were talking to us it was clear they didn't appreciate our business. I regret giving these people our hard earned money.
It's a nice, small petting farm that is close to the city. It is pretty straightforward - you go there to feed the animals, maybe ride a Pony, and that's it. There's nothing else to do, so plan on staying for only 1 hr or less. There are no tables or benches to sit on, and there's only one portalet (Read: don't expect to find any changes tables here!) Kids will definitely enjoy feeding and petting the animals, but it can be a tough place for parents.
Lionel's farm is an awesome spot and amazing petting farm. All the animals are very friendly and lots of fun to feed. You can bring your own food to feed the animals (from a select list of items you can find on the website) or purchase cones of food for a modest $2 each or 3 for $5. Feeding the goats, cows, donkeys, ponies, ducks, rabbits, pig, emu, and much much more was incredibly fun! They also offer pony rides for $5/ride where you can lead the pony while your child rides! We had a blast here and will definitely come back.
Great place for the kids.
Nice place. Worth visiting with kids around Christmas.
Lots of fun for kids!
Friendly place for kids.
Lots of animal for 2$ per person.
Not alot of animals. Guess because of covid activities were not available?? I prefer riverdale farm or High Park
I would not give any stars if permitted! very rude staff and farm animals looked hungry (may be on purpose since feeding is allowed). Don't waste you time and money here. High park zoo is way better!!
Lionel's farm is an amazing place! And it's very safe regarding covid19, they have protocols in place. We did pony ride package as a birthday present for our daughter and she was so happy! It's a great way to spend your day outside and we hope to return here many more times!
Awesome place, the animals are well taken care off, which is what matters most. Highly recommended!! Lots of fun!
Good amount of animals for a toddler to experience. Well kept and nice people
Very bad behaviour from staffs I never ever go there again
I regret not finding this place a few years ago when my kids were younger. They absolutely love the experience and this farm will definitely be an annual trip for my family. We loved how interactive we can be with the animals and the farm was very clean. Not smelly at all.
Great for kids..
Amazing place for kids. Visited with my kids on weekdays as there is no slot available on weekends. Owners are very passionate and professional. Animals are so adorable and the place is very clean. You can not eat anything at the place …
Great scenery, peaceful and good interactions with animals
Thank you so much for great and safe time during COVID-19, it was a fun farm tour for our whole family. Pony ride is unforgettable experience for our kid. All animals are so adorable. The petting farm tour is really great for all, stress relief place, love all this cute animals. The animal food price for bag is 5$. I recommend this small cute farm for families with small kids specially <3
It's a nice, small petting farm that is close to the city. It is pretty straightforward - you go there to feed the animals, maybe ride a Pony, and that's it. My kids 3 and 6 years old love to go to this place. Lots of various animals they can pet and feed. During Covid they have pre-booked 45 minute time slots which is great to ensure social distancing.
Abit Nice but very faraway from our home in Mississauga
I think a staff member should be walking around at all times just making sure people are treating the animals respectfully.
It is a small nice place for spend time with kids
Great place to spend the day
We booked online and understood that visits were only allowed through online booking, as it said "no walk ins" on the website. Had we known they were accepting walk-ins, we would have gone in the morning when the sun wasn't as strong for our baby. We arrived 15 min late because our baby was napping longer than usual, and then were disappointed to see people just doing walk ins and paying at the front. We then were kicked out to allow the next few people to enter, but the farm at this point was empty. I just think that the website should be honest about walk ins, because had I known, I would have not pre-booked, rushed my child after her nap, and then to feel a bit unwelcome when they were asking us to leave to allow the next group of 5 people in (when the farm was empty at this point). Other than that, the animals were cute and friendly.
The man who runs the private pony packages has the personality of an old leather boot. Completely takes away from what should be a fun experience for the kids ( and the parents to see their kids enjoying). This was our second time visiting the farm for this package and both times we had this individual - there wont be a third time. I dont get it - you run a business geared towards families with children, yet are so unwelcoming and dour to everyone. This person should be instead working in the back barn or something, not customer facing.
Dear readers, Let me tell you about this miracle called Lionel's Farm. This place is family owned, admission tickets are extremely cheap, and this place provides an incredible experience. Why? Because they aren't thieves. They want you to come here with your family, have fun, enjoy, feed the animals, and come out with a smile. These guys don't wish to be millionaires, just people who do good deeds and see smiles on a family's face. I will go there again once I am in the area.
Perfect for little ones...
Simple
Had my 27th birthday party here and all 8 of us had a blast. I brought 5 heads of lettuce, 1 bag of bread, and 2 big bags of mini carrots. Animals ate it all in about an hour. I would pay good $$$ if this place would have proper petting rather than reaching over a fence.
Kids love feeding the animals. Well kept and clean at front. Pony rides for birthday parties is good. Lots of flies if bring food for party. Back barn has toys and bikes for kids but is very dirty. Mice droppings found in back barn but it's a farm so it's expected. Friendly staff.
Would not recommend this farm. Staff was very rude and charged us 45$ for two adults two children under three. Charged us double for not prebooking. Never going back here
Super kids friendly, very economical, super fun place for kids especially..
They now charge $2+hst for entry. The amount if time your kids are occupied is dependent in the amount if food you bring to feed the animals.
The owners are very sweet and for the minimum fee they charge it is a great place for us to go to in the summer. If you are complaining about a $2 - $3 entry fee you need to check yourself. If you are complaining that you are being kicked out of the party area after your allotted time slot, you are the rude one. If you are complaining about hand washing 1. It's a farm 2. there are lots of sanitizing lotion stands around the park. No wonder good things in life never last, no one is ever happy and people love to complain.
Read some reviews and lots of people were taking about how it was great for kids. I brought my date here and we had a great time feeding and petting some animals. It’s not just for kids it’s for anyone who loves animals!
You only get to stay for 35 minutes and you have to pay for entrance plus animal feed and very rude staff. Very expensive. Overall not a good experience.
Such a fun little place! Highly recommend it!
They were super sweet to us, very aware of safety requirements.
Lincoln and Diefenbaker were the best
Cute little farm, animals are friendly & well kept. They also have pony rides. The only thing is that the front staff can be kind of rude, always having a condescending answer to simple questions. But, seems from other reviews that's just what they're like, so, if you can let that slide, the farm is a cute place for little kids to enjoy. It's just a pretty small farm, so wouldn't recommend for kids over 5 yeard old. It honestly takes prob 20 minutes to see all the animals. Make sure to check their website to bring appropiate foods to feed the animals, they will check at the front.
My kids just love this place
Visted the farm today, great tome had by all. Staff super friendly. Can't wait to visit again!
Fun experience for the kids!
Love this place. The animals look happy and react friendly with the kids and other guests. My kids love coming hear and being able to feed the animals vegetables. Please respect the rules and feed the animals only what's indicated on the website. Going there again right now actually.. lol
Just tired to enter farm. Been coming here for years. Bringing my own apples and cutting them with the knife and cutting board provide at the farm. This ladies at the front entrance proceed to tell us they don’t do that and you need to go cut it yourself. We tired to break the apple in front of her and she said thats not acceptable and you need to need to go get a knife. Apparently people just carry knifes on them. She also made a remark under her break and said “you didn’t ask” about my grandma using the exit to enter instead of going around the line.
Great trip for the kids! Lots of cute animals to feed (they sell feed at the front desk), very cheap price, paid around $5 per person. Although I found the staff to be a little pushy, other than that it was a worth while experience
It used to be free then they started charging $2.00 per person and this year it’s gone up to $3.00... You used to be able to bring vegetables and fruits from home to feed the animals and now they also switched to pellets that you also have to purchase or you can only bring baby carrots or lettuce only. You would expect to see that place packed especially on weekends, but I guess all these rules are not well accepted. Lastly...they don’t seem to have the variety of animals they had in the pastes. Sorry...it’s become a disappointment vs a place that we looked forward taking are kids.
Friendly staff and the animals are so much fun to feed and learn about.
Great for small kids. Friendly staff and only $2 per person.
Amazing experience for the whole family! The animals were great and the staff were all so kind and helpful. Definitely appreciated all of the covid protocols as well. Looking forward to coming back!
It was a nice li'l petting zoo area. Nothing much to it. Recommend people to take their own food for the animals. Like carrots and celery. If not you can even buy it for i think $2 The pony ride was of $5 for 2 rounds. It was an okay outdoor activity for kids. We were there for 2 hrs with 4 kids. It was more than enough time.
It's not the same as it once was. Used to be free cost $28 for 5 people and 2 bags of food for $10. Not as many animals as before.
Excellent place. Been there with my 2 year old daughter.. She just loved it. Felt like she is enjoying Old McDonald Rhyme live.. ❤❤❤❤❤
We have been visiting Lionel's Farm since our daughter was able to walk. Great place to visit and only minutes north of the city.
Fun place to take the kids!
(Translated) The moral quality of managers is very poor, and Asians are suspected! not good! (Original) 管理人员的道德素质很差,怀疑亚裔人!不好!
Kids loved it
Best farm, kids can feed a variety of animals
Nice farm. Great place for kids but I am very disappointed seeing ducks having very dirty water for drinking and swimming
Fun times at Lionels! For the kids and whole family ????
Great place to take kids. Lot of animals to see, and there is no entrance charge, only small donation jar that you can put a few bucks into. Just awesome!
Loved this farm! My 2.5 year old daughter had so much fun seeing the animals and feeding them! Only thing is I wish we had more time! Loved the variety of animals and they were all so active and super friendly ????
My daughter loved the Pony rides, feeding deers, lamas, emu and more. Prices are really good too!
Clean, staff are friendly and helpful
Sadly the experience did not meet expectations. The staff were grumpy and cranky.
Great experience to take your kids
Nice farm with different kinds of domestic animals. Not a big one, but enough for the little ones to enjoy and not get tired. The price is fair. I recommend it. We will probably visit it again when our kids grow older and can enjoy the pony riding.
This place is super cute! My husband and I took our daughter last week and she absolutely loved it! It was very clean and they even had hand sanitizer for your hands. Love that she could feed the animals her self. Pony rides are 5 bucks (a great deal) The best part about it is it's FREE to get in. I will take her as often as I can!
Cool pettin zoo
Great time with private 30 min pony ride with my kid. Got to experience other farm animals in the pony barn area too.
We spent a pleasant afternoon petting animals and pony riding. Happy to support this family owned and operated farm.
A very cozy farm. Good for stop by. Kids love it but there weren't too much to see. Price are reasonable $5 entry. Not much to say...A very small, kinda worn out playground for kids. But kids don't mind. They have fun.
My husband and I took our son to the farm today and it was amazing. We had a great time. It's very clean, the animals seem very well cared for and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend Lionel's Farm for a great family day outting.
Super clean, animals are friendly and appear to be treated really well, awesome place to quickly burn out your toddler :P
Was recently there for a birthday party, initially it was a fun, different experience. Kids had fun playing in the barn which had many trucks, wagon, slides. Party room was small and not clean (but it is to be expected since it is dusty everywhere). I am sad that they want to kick you out as soon as the allotted time is up, and even demanded that we leave and pay admission to enter the petting area (when we are already inside). Not sure if the staff is having a bad day or what, seems grumpy and unfriendly. Not a good way to treat your customers.
granddaughter enjoyed feeding lettuce to animals. only baby carrots are accepted for feeding for animal safety. small farm but good selection of animals. hand stamp provided so you can exit to have lunch and return after. Not much shade so can get pretty hot. I would like to see more water locations for animals but otherwise good place for family visit. you can purchase a cone filled with food if you forget to bring something.
$3 admission and kids under 1 are free. My kid is at that age where I can't lie anymore and say that they are still 1. "No I'm not daddy!". They also scan what you are bringing in to keep a consistent diet for the animals and to avoid overfeeding. We went in 1 hour before it closed and what a sight. These animals were well fed ! They didn't want my carrots, I had to feed them to my kid. Ever hear an animal burp ? Or see animals pass out because they just finished a buffet ? Animal activists can skip this place , these animals are living the good life.
Great for short visits with the kids.
Super fun for little ones and very inexpensive! Great learning experience!!!!
Isn’t amazing, but definitely worth it for younger kids It was clean, during the week relatively cheap and enough animals to keep my toddlers preoccupied Would recommend
We visit Lionel at least twice a year. They started charging a small entrance fee which I think make sense. It's a clean place for a short break for kids. Bring veggies that are short listed by them or they will not let you give it to the animals
Very interesting! Loved it!
Has to be the best petting zoo in York Region. Besides the common farm animals like cows, sheep, goats, ponies and deer, it is famous for its rare fowl & bird collections! Admission is $3 per person. The owner is very specific for the food and amount you are allowed to bring in to feed the animals. Romaine lettuce & baby carrots are safe bets. Check their website for details.
Fun
Fun for the kids
This place is almost too good to be true!! Extremely cheap, clean and fun.
Nice little farm. Very busy. When the sun is out, it's very hot. There is a playground as well. The playground is in the shade so kids aren't likely to overheat while playing. Lots of parking available.
Fun fun fun
Good fun
Compare to others farms (for instance brooks farm) this farm most expensive and unconvinient....they have just option for 5 people. I will not come back never.
Place is fun for kids . 1 star rating is for the poor organized place and EXTREME POOR customer service from the staff. Sadly ,
Great place to take kids. Very affordable and safe.
Very busy on weekends but lots of fun feeding animals for the small children. The have an emu, which might actually be the spawn of Satan. Mean thing which I would not let kids near. I feel like it's just stalking it's prey. But otherwise - the animals are a joy and so are the staff. Really nice people.
Amazing farm. Small but nice. Fun family activity. Wouldn't spend more than an hour there as it's small and not that many activities. Horse rides are a big hit with the kids, and at a symbolic price. Also you can bring your own veggies to feed the animals. They check the veggies at the entrance, and let you know what's acceptable. Cut Carrots and greens are a big hit with animals. Also if you want the animals to eat, come in the morning.
I called to ask about the pony riding experience that Lionel's farm offers and got an extremely rude person who handled my call. He insulted me, told me that I do not understand English and basically, implied that I am unintelligent. I cannot believe this customer service and will never visit this farm. Nor recommend it to anyone.
Fun place for small kids Rouse people who run this farm. Not even water to wash the hands of small kids. Anti bacterial not enough.
Great petting farm for kids! Our toddler loved the place. You can find goats, chickens, doves, pigeons, cows, lamas, duckies, pigs and many other animals here. Well worth the visit. Admission was only $2 each person.
Never before have I met such a rude and disrespectful owner and staff who sincerely hate their quests and are ready to yell even at a child
We drove onto the premises and parked off on the side of the driveway. We were not obstructing any vehicle or even walking traffic. The lot attendant or admission lady came out and asked if we were lost. When we politely answered and said we just wanted to decide if we wanted to stay for the animals, the lady rudely said we were blocking traffic (when there was nobody in sight) and we needed to move right away. She made our decision easy so we left. We will never come back to such an unwelcoming establishment.
Great attraction. Kid-friendly animals. Very cheap admission fee - $2.
Nice place to come with young kids! The petting zoo has a range of animals!
Good place for kids and families
My kids and I had so much fun here. The animals are fun to feed and the pony ride is great.
Great people
Greatest farm I've ever seen.
Just left the farm with my kids and nephew and everyone had a blast. The animals are adorable and we all had fun feeding and petting them. It was great to get outside and do something different with the kids. All the staff have masks on and there aren't many people who can book at the same time so there is lots of space to have fun while social distancing. Highly recommend ????
Great bang for your buck... lots of animals. Great for 2-3 yr olds.
Great place to take the kids and pet some animals
OVERRATED!!! NOT too many animals!! Rude staff!
It’s a cute relatively little place with nice animals. Clean overall and nicely fits into surrounding area. Animals are clean, kids have fun. Parking is limited, but we visited during the week and didn’t experience maximum capacity. They do let very specific animal food in like baby carrots(not long cut ones), lettuce, apples and I believe some bread. They sell their own food at the entrance at a reasonable cost. Admission during the week is 3 dollars and 5 dollars over weekend. They close 5pm. We didn’t experience much of interaction with staff therefore I can’t confirm or deny personalities issue. I believe it’s a nice place to go with kids. I’m surprised I haven’t visited them before.
My kids absolutely enjoy feeding all the farm animals here. There is a list of food you can bring in to feed but most of the animals prefer lettuce and apples. Very friendly staffs! Will come again for sure!
Very friendly staff and healthy animals. Decent for the kids... limited number of animals though and I wish we were able to buy carrots or corn etc. to feed instead of just getting ice cream cones and a few small pellets.
I regret not finding this place a few years ago when my kids were younger. They absolutely love the experience and this farm will definitely be an annual trip for my family. …
Small farm. So many chickens. A couple of goats, horses, donkeys, cuple of pigs. But the animals seemed very well cared for.. their pens and holding areas were clean. The kids loved feeding the animals. I would take the kids there again
Nothing much to see...plus+ bad experience...????????????
Been coming here for years and no more! I will NEVER reccommend this farm EVER again! I am terribly disappointed in the farms front admission lady today. She was so very DISGUSTING AND RUDE especially to me in front of my excited 4 year old who was bugging me all day to go to Lionel's as I was shopping around for much needed groceries all day knowing the shops and stuff would be closed on Victoria Day (the following day)!!!! I believe she was simply "out of line!!! I was walking quickly to get in so we could get a full 15min at least in there before being kicked out to leave right at 5pm (the time Google stated to me and the lady confirmed was their closing hour for this Saturday)! Having a 10 month old baby and not wanting to have waited in the scorching 23° weather earlier in the afternoon with him I optioned to go at the end for a little! It is such a small farm, trust me you dont need longer! Plus our cousin who went earlier stated they had a REALLY long line so of course I wasn't going to bring my 10 month to sit in the heat either with no shade!!! As I was walking in to head to the front gate, there was a lady standing in the booth in a blue shirt with another man standing in front of her also in a blue shirt leaning into the booth. As we caught eyes, she began pointing a finger in a wave motion stating "No excuse me we are already closed!" I said its not 5pm yet its like 15min or 20 min still!?! What do you mean you are closed??. EXCUSE ME BUT IT IS NOT 5PM IT WAS 435PM. Her response to me is, "Well, what are you only going to be in there for only 15minutes??? I said, "Ya, actually give them their food, say a quick hello and we will leave! I know the time! The kids just wanted the kids to see some of your animals. She looked into my carriage and said, "What food? Those are too big...it's baby carrots we allow!" Before I could state to her I have purchased big carrots before and I have used a knife with a board at the other side of the counter to feed these exact animals before she cut me off to tell me that "besides it's been busy all day so if you walked around you would see all the food laying around they aren't probably going to eat that!". As much as I can appreciate her honesty of telling me it's like a waste of my time to go in, I wasn't doing it for me! I was doing it for my little who was patient with me all day and tolerated my shopping for groceries and not wanting to danger his you her brother in the heat. Even if the animals didn't want to eat his carrots we could take them home and try again another day! That's for me to decide! Telling me I am not allowed to go in because you are closed at 435pm when you clearly aren't closed untul 5pm is ridiculous and also not your business to tell me! Maybe you should make your hours until 430pm and give that last half an hour for people to scoot out! That way others wont be trying to come in either! Don't judge me when you don't know what happens before someone comes over to your business. Like c'mon! This was just mean! Very very sad! Lionel's used to be such a nice place!
Great spot for kids. Just drop a few dollars in the bucket.
Outstanding experience. A great outing for all ages.
Animals are friendly and super cute :)
Worse experience ever!!! Rude staff!!!not recommend.
Tidy little farm. Plenty of goats, sheep, a couple donkeys and other interesting animals to see and feed (if you purchase a bag of food). Overall nice experience with the family.
Rude staff
The farm has so many cute animals. These guys know exactly when you got food and will pout for it. You can't control the urge to keep feeding all of em.
Horrible place and woman at reception. They don't care at all about your kids there. Stay away from this place
A really great place to feed animals - I'd you or you're kid is into that. As well, it's really cheap $2 a person.
Fantastic place to take young children. Lots of different animals to see and feed. Very reasonable prices.
Nice place for kids.
Have been coming here for a few years now. Nice place to go with kids to have some interaction with the animals. They have improved the facilities in the recent couple of years as they are getting busier every year. However, pony rides are too expensive for what they are. $5 for a tiny little circle. Water in the ducks' enclosure was filthy when we last came. And the biggest minus is not enough parking.
Worst experience we ever had! if you want to get ripped off this is the place. very rude staff and the manager / owner was even worse. 28.25 $ down the drain
I took my 2-year old here and he loved it. For small children, this place is perfect. Not too big, not too small. There is a good variety of animals to see and it is great having the option of bringing your own food to feed the animals. The admission fee is very reasonable at $3.00 per person. The only recommendation I have is that they create a picnic bench area. Was trying to feed by child his lunch but there was nowhere to sit down. Otherwise, overall a great place.
Great farm to see and pet farm animals! The best place in and near Toronto. They actually have a variety of animals and you can feed them with carrots, lettuce, and bread. Lots of good photos with the sheep and cows. We've been to other places and were disappointed. This one didn't!
Great for pony riding
Very nice and clean place. Friendly staff and it worth the money and time. My kid really enjoyed the visit.
Enjoyed our visit. Great for kids and animal lovers. However noticed the lack of fresh water for animals. The bunnies had a bowl of dirty water. :( Also bring your own lettuce, carrots to feed the animals. They also have rabbit pellets for $2 to feed to all the animals.
This place is great. Friendly staff. Great physical distancing procedures. Online booking recently set up to make it super convenient! My child had a wonderful time.
4 generations of my family have visited the farm. We started when they were on Progress.
Our kids loves this place...
Spend some time with some farm animals and others you dont expect in a small petting farm.
I was planning on visiting them during the Labor Day long weekend. In order to plan ahead, I tried calling them to find out if they were open. Although the automated message stated they were open on Sundays till 5PM I wanted to speak to someone who could confirm it so I wouldn't waste time travelling to their farm if it was closed for business. I sent an email to them, inquiring about their hours to hear a passive agressive sounding reply stating "If you checked the website you'd see it's open till 5PM". I gave them the benefit of the doubt only to receive a call from them and have my suspicions confirmed after speaking to a guy who sounded extremely rude and implied I shouldn't have wasted their time and checked online. I was going to let them have it, but decided to just tell them we'd no longer be coming. Wouldn't bother travelling to a place if they can't even speak to you with respect over the phone.
Awesome for the kids
Worth the trip
We visited Lionel's Farm with our kids and our nephews. Four little boys and we all had a wonderful time. The parking is free. You can bring certain kind of food for the animals. Watching how happy the kids get as they feed them is precious. The place is totally kid friendly, very safe. I was stress free letting them run around the farm. It was too bad a the pony rides were close. I will definitely come back to this farm.
Great place for kids to feed animals. They got a good selection of animals for toddlers to explore. The animals are quite aggressive in getting a good feed. I find the llama and deers were the most gentle, so good for kids to feed as a starter. I bring my kid here all the time for a quick farm visit. If you are bringing your own vegetables to feed, make sure you check out their website for their feeding guidelines.
Great place to take the kids. Go early to avoid the crowds.
Was Ok was a bit hot on our trip so the animals looked tired. Most of them were laying down.
Had a great time with kids
Great place
Good little farm with lots of animals to feed and also fun pony ride
Lionel's farm is a small but interesting petting zoo. Cost of admission is extremely reasonable, how many animals are interesting. There is a bit of a play area for kids, but nothing too fancy. You're allowed to feed the animals but aside from the goats and the cows not many of them are interested. That's okay though, they are still interesting to look at, to be so close to, and to see your kids react to them.
About as fun an uplifting as attending a loved one's funeral. Staff (3 we interacted with) are extremely rude to everyone and especially rude to kids. For the pony ride, the webpage says 45 minute. The confirmation email says 30 minutes. You arrive there and they tell you there's only one pony and 30 minutes is for the whole group taking turns. This is fine if the staff weren't so unbelievably rude. The guy in the front booth (petting zoo) is really unbelievably rude. Quite possibly the rudest person I've encountered in the whole of GTA. The guy running the pony rides is also very rude and yelled at the kids a few times. The girl driving the pony is as cheerful as a prison guard. To top it all off, the animals are not well kept. The chickens are in tiny tiny cages in which they barely have room to move. Really sad.
Very suitable for kids under6 years old
Nice place to take the kids. Small petting farm
The animals here seem like they don't have enough space. It's kind of sad, but my son (2.5) enjoyed it. You can bring your own carrots or lettuce to feed the animals which is nice and my son really enjoyed.
We did the pony ride and it was great. Very friendly staff.
The owner is a Racist and does not know how to speak to and deal with Children and adults! I had taken my two sons to the farm last week. Its a great place but BEWARE of the owner who also handles the pony rides!!! My children (4 & 5) along with other children were super excited to ride the ponies. So excited that they were jumping up and down and lets just say like any 5 year old and under, couldn't contain there excitement!! The owner (Lady -Older who also handles the horses), seeing all this felt that the parents needed to CONTROL there children and started shouting at the top of her lungs. At first I thought she was speaking to the staff. But soon she came closer to the children huffing and puffing. I quickly interrupted her and asked her to calm down and not speak to the children in this manner. Any normal person would have done the same. I explained to her that they are 4 & 5 year old's and are just excited. She turned to me and said "if you don't like being spoken to like this then you can leave". I couldn't believe what was happening and I refused to be spoken to in this manner so again I asked her to STOP, only for her to turn around and tell me it's "only people like you who don't understand" - at this time she points with her fingers at my friend and I, both women. both wearing the Islamic head gear -Hijab. I was completely caught off guard when she said this comment and couldn't believe my ears. As soon as she said those words the mood in the crowd quickly changed and other parents and every other concerned Canadian quickly came to our defense. Without incident on our end she demanded we leave. We asked to speak to the owner and at this time we learned that she was the owner. The two lovely girls handling the pony rides came to us on the side and apologized for her behavior and said that this is quite common behavior from her! Every Year the Pickering Mosque holds an annual Kids party & Bazaar. Lionel's farm has always been invited. But if she can't deal with people like us and children then she shouldn't do business with us either!
It was better once upon a time. Those who went years ago will understand.
Very clean and well kept petting zoo.
Loved it
So Bad Exprience here. You Staff is very very rude to customers and I highly believe you guys have discrimination.
The service attitude of the staff is very poor. T The inexplicable disappearance of the vegetables that were asked to be placed. The rabbit garden is not healthy and bad smell. The overall is not worth
Not many animals they charge you $5.00 if you want to feed the animals u get two empty icecream cones and and a handful of pellets. You can't bring outside food in the pony rides are ridiculous price to be booked way in advance, the cost just to go in was $28 for 5 when the father was alive he never changed a penny he wanted every one to enjoy the animals. Now it's just a money grabbing waste of time don't bother going here.
It is a good place for young kids to explore but the owners are very rude and do not respect the customers and the animals are limited variety . You can find more other fun farm in the area rather than going there and waste your money.
Great experience for the little ones, timed entry so it wasn’t crowded. If you want to feed the animals you must buy the food from them, can’t bring your own carrots or veggies anymore.
Great place to spend an hour or two.
what a wonderful place to take the kids! we went this past weekend and we were even accommodated with an earlier pony ride, which i requested via email the evening before. the pony ride was perfect for our 2 year old son and Holly was so friendly and helpful. we loved the smaller setting and that we were supporting a family run business. we'll be going back for sure!
minni zoo for kids
Please take with you carrot (baby carrots)and salad, you can feed but few animal very good for kids.
This was a lovely outing. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The animals were all lively and obviously well cared for. My 30 month old grandson was delighted with the experience. I would highly recommend Lionel's Farm to anyone with young children. My only criticism is the condition of the port-a-potty.
Lovely experience - People working there are lovely and super kind towards the kids - Petting farm is really good Llama, pig, donkey, bull, rabbits, lamb, sheep, miniature horse, and much more. Really fun day there!!!
My little sis had lots of fun riding on the pony, and feeding the animals. Very friendly couple. Tickets are ok priced! You should definitely take your kids/siblings there for a full farm experience :)
Th
Nice outing with kids.
Great place for children to see animals and a few variety of birds. Today I visited this place and had a very pleasant welcome from the front staff. I had a very bad experience from the girls who were guiding the pony ride. they were racists. when my children (three of them) took ride one by one, they kept on telling my wife (who held the reins to assist each child for the pony ride) to walk fast even though she was walking just behind the parent and child in front of them. They welcomed all white children with huge applause and big bright smiles and they almost grabbed the reins from my wife with a rude face. Their tone of speech to us was rude during the time we were there.
we had our daughters birthday there..what a wonderful place.we have been before so we knew it was great.my daughter and all her friends at the party had the best time. The family who owns it is so lovely. 10 stars if i could give
Great place, very family friendly. Some staff are sometimes a bit short tempered but the little ones don't seem to notice.
Unfriendly parking attendant, who has no business attending to any customers and does a disservice to the establishment. The man is better off working at the back - and staying there - amongst the livestocks, in order to minimize interaction with customers.
Lionels Farm is a petting farm. During Covid-19, though, petting is not permitted. Still, you may ride a donkey, see small goats and sheep, and horses grazing in the field. There are seasonal activities. It seems that the horses are being used for filming.
Took my daughter there, as a covid safe experience for her. Location was great, beautiful spot, animals well laid out and they even had some kids play structures. Everyone was super friendly and the whole family had a wonderful time. The "horsey" (pony) ride and the wooden "beep beep" (jeep) were my toddlers favorite; but Winston the water Buffalo was a favorite amongst the adults. Would definitely return!
Wonderful place to bring your kids to feed animals three dollars per person be sure to bring lots of lettuce and carrots
