As you can read, it has an average rating is very good, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may be quite sure that the evaluation is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is classified in the category of Aquarium.
Loved the environment and a lot to see. The polar bear exhibit was the highlight. There are many things to do and would highly recommend it for families and dates.
To be honest - not the best aquarium. Nothing special really.
That's a really sad place in my opinion... Too many fish per tank and the wild animal seemed really sad and crowed in the swimming pool... Moreover the outside decoration, aybe because of the long winter, was completely dry and dead.
Great aquarium fishes from the Arctic to the Amazon
Petting and feeding the sting ray's was the highlight of the trip. Great variety of aquatic life. The sand sculptures around the grounds were impressive. I will recommend it to others.
Wasnt as cool as I thought it would be, but it was pretty heckin fun. I liked the deep sea part best of all. And they had pretty fish, and seals.
Wow! Great place for family, kids, and friends!!
I loved it. It was just great. Y'all should really go
This is 3.5 stars for me. The place is relatively small and the facilities are a bit low tech compared to other aquariums that I have been to. It is still a nice place though to see numerous aquatic species. My favorite part is the jelly fish room (felt like a meditation room). This is still a great place to visit but they should lower the fee a bit to make it reasonable for the visitors. I felt like ut should be within $12 to $13 only.
Amazingly well laid out with open spaces and excellent exhibits. Best on a nice day as there are outdoor walks between buildings.
Nice area to walk around; good displays and entertaining 'show and tell'. The exhibit with jellyfish and lights is truly mesmerising!
It was a nice afternoon sight seeing at the aquarium, the walrus' were awesome.e and the park staff friendly.
The facility is dated and not up to an international standard. Much of love and investment are needed to make this aquarium facility shine. Of course, kids will appreciate the visit and I enjoyed it myself, but after visiting other aquarium facilities around the world, such as Vienna or Sydney, made me frown upon this one. For instance, I prefer Biodome's aquarium section in Montreal : better curation and interactivity.
An unforgettable experience.
Beautiful location, plenty of activities for children. Rest area and play grounds. Variety of food options for different taste budget.
Loved the environment and a lot to see. The polar bear exhibit was the highlight. There are many things to do and would highly recommend it for families and dates.
Very nice place to go with your kids. Some attractions are seasonal as the polar bear (just in the winter), but anyway it’s a good place to go. My favorite was the jellyfish section that you can see on the pictures. We saw a very big sea lion! You can walk through a small fish tunnel. There are many restrooms and if you are hungry you can buy some snack. Have fun!
Nice place to go with your entire family. Lots of things to watch and learn.
Was awesome! Staff was great! We did the whole thing twice.
Lots of great exhibits and lots to do for all ages. Definitely watch the shows. We watched one with seals, and another with polar bears. One thing to note - most of this facility is outdoors, with a few of the buildings having exhibits that are inside. Plan accordingly (bring a jacket or umbrella if rain is in the forecast for your visit). There was a really cool stingray exhibit where you can touch them as they swim by! Great way to spend time with the family and get some education in.
Beautiful aquarium. Great place for kids. Lots of interactive areas. Polar bears we're not there during my visit and this was not indicated online. They will be gone until the end of the year. Otherwise would absolutely recommend.
Really good place for family. Plenty of parking.
Beautiful.
A great experience with so many exhibits. The jellyfish are beautiful! Staff is really friendly and knowledgeable, everything is kept really clean, terrific place to bring the kids.
Amazing. Polar bears area is under construction but everything was great even with covid, it was very pleasant.
Ever wanted to pet a sting ray or watch a walrus do tricks? Then this is the place. I had a great afternoon exploring the exhibits and I saw a lot of things I'd never seen before.
Amazing place for the kids they will Just love it however other parents need to put their kids on check..a lot pushed my daughter and where running around not having consideration for others place needs security
Very beautiful, enough parking, comparing to Vancouver’s and Toronto’s aquarium this one is definitely a little smaller.
Animals seemed well taken care of for the most part. I saw one blatantly ill fish the entire visit, which is pretty good considering he was in the most populated tank on site. The staff are friendly and the exhibits interesting.
Because of COVID, some activities are closed. The aquarium is well organized and maintained.
Very cool aquarium. Kids loved going there and seeing everything. The sting ray pond was exciting for them and they had fun touching them. The best part was watching the sea lions for kids, they were thrilled just to watch them swim around and see them swap pools between them. We went on a cooler day and was rainy a bit so the outside shows were canceled.
The aquarium was super cool, really liked the jelly fish displays. Overall it was a good display of the fish and features lots from the Saint Lawrence River. Some of the stuff seemed a bit dated, but if you have kids this is a great experience. The outdoor play area is amazing, great play structures and the garden is amazing. Don't miss it if you're in the area
This is a nice aquarium albeit on the small side. The jelly fish displays and petting tanks are great. Unfortunately, a lot of the areas were closed.
A marvelous above and below the water tour of the life that is all around us... They have handled the pandemic logically and with a calm care...
Great family activity. A winner every time!
Good for kids, lacks animations and interactivity with sea mammals. Some animals should not be there (polar bear for example) laying down at 40 degrees in the summer. Pricing acceptable
Easy to get in, easy to get out. Staff is amazing from front door, to security to behind the line during a lunch rush and of course those with the animals. Always happy and willing to help.
We loved seeing all of the animal species but it is difficult not to feel badly for them especially the larger animals that are confined in fairly small spaces. The polar bear kept pacing around in the cage and seemed in distress.
I had an amazing time, it was during the winter so at night they had lights set up along the paths. They even had live music and a fire pit. The best part was the seals, and petting the rays.
Go here. It is a unique experience that you will have as a lasting memory of your visit to Quebec City. Unlike many aquarium's this is a place that has about half of the exhibits outdoors. This is very important to know if you're planning a trip in the winter (like us). It can actually still be fun even in the cold, because the polar bears, walruses and seals are in their more natural atmosphere.
Wow!! Such a great experience!! I love the oceans and this is a great place to view hundreds of animals and you can even pet the stingrays because for some reason they love the attention!!
Had a lot of fun. Only issue is the biggest building has a LOT of stairs and as someone who is disabled it's hard to do that many stairs. I wish there was a way to accommodate this minor issue.
Really great, especially for young kids, but interesting for adults as well. While Quebec city is great for adults, a lot of the most interesting sites are not really exciting for children, and it's difficult to get a stroller around. The aquarium, however was great for kids: there were shows, places to touch some animals, and lots of places to get up close to smaller and larger sea creatures. Plus it was easy to get around with a stroller.
Everything is super cute and i loves every animals there! Also the beaver tails were delicious ????????????
The aquarium du Quebec is a fair bit smaller than the Aquarium in Toronto we've been to both but a number of different exhibits the sea lions were my favorite while visiting the aquarium in Quebec you also get to go through four or five different buildings with various exhibits the little sea horses were especially interesting
Better than the.Biodôme in Montreal. Great variety of species.
Really nice place to visit, installations are pretty clean and animals well maintained.
The presentation of the animals is marvelous .
Lots of fish and things to see. We had a nice day, and it was quite well priced.
We visited on a rainy day and they warned us that the park is 40% outside. Despite the drizzle it was an enjoyable experience. The value was good for a family of five. Active areas are available outside for children to blow off steam. Parking was free which was a really nice surprise. The animals appeared active and healthy.
I am not a fan of aquariums. Honestly, I don't see much fun on fishes, and I do not feel ok seeing animals locked in places that are not of their own choice. Sure I do understand the concept, reasons and I agree they must stay there for their own sake. But even with that, I just don't feel ok going there. That being said, this aquarium is of standard type... Nothing amazingly different from the others. However, during winter, they transform the outdoor area into a light spectacle. You can definitively call it as a "one hour walking on a special environment", and nothing more. Best for children under 6.
Nice aquarium with lots of animals. They have a Halloween event every year that’s fun to attend as well.
Just Okay at least in summer. Instead it would be good to spend more time to explore the city to experience the French heritage.
Amasing!!!
It's smaller than the ones I've seen. Well maintained and the animals look happy and well kept
Small but nice that it includes an outdoor section.
Very good place to go. Lots of varieties of aquatic animals are present. Phirana is a special attraction. A special building only for jellyfish is present. You can see aquatic species like sting ray, variety of sea horses, star fish, dragon look like fish and sponges. You can touch few species of aquatic life with your bare hands. You can also see big seals, owls and arctic foxes. Polar bears are moved out for some reason. Typically you can spend 2 to 3 hours here.
Great experience for the whole family. Loved touching the rays and starfish!
Amazing place for the family. The place is clean but make sure you don't eat there it cost a fortune 30$ for croissant wither lettuce and cheer and two salads and any drink from the fridge + a soup. Asides from that I would go back a 3rd time.
Loved the scale and landscaping. Felt safe and family friendly. My son could've pet the Manta rays for days. Best touch tank ever.
Beautiful areas to visit with many kinds of fish and animals. Easily cramped in certain areas and not easy to see all the tanks wen theres alot of people
A nice place to spend time with your family.
Its a smaller aquarium, but what they have is done really well. Its in a natural park setting which is different and better than most other aquariums
Has a wide variety of fish, including many salt water fish and fresh water fish. Though it gets pretty busy, I think it's worth going once or twice!
Amazing. Polar bears area is under construction but everything was great even with covid, it was very pleasant.
Nice aquariums. Amazing seal show. They have a tunnel in the water which is REALLY short but looks amazing. Great to spend all day with family and friends
In Quebec, the best aquarium for sure. Though I will say that Ripley's aquarium in Toronto has it beat a million to one. Avoid during covid if possible, the waiting in line to get into the park was one thing but having to wait to get into each individual aquarium was another, out of 4 hours spent there I probably spent a third of it in line, if not more.
Improved in the past few years. Good place for kids of various ages
Alot of things to look at
After reading some of the negative reviews I had my thoughts but was I wrong. It was awesome. My 2 year old loved to see all the fishes, polar bears and all other animals and creatures that they have. We went on one of the hottest day of the year (32 + humidity) and the polar bears were enjoying there swim in the enclosure. My son loves the little splash pad they have spend 1 1/2 hour in that area. The food was decent priced. Overall our experience was awsome. Would go back and recommended it.
An amazing place to visit mostly with children. I went to the Aquarium many times as a child and as an adult and I still love to go. There is many nice animals to see and shows. The one I prefer is the walrus show, if I'm right, Boris! Also there is a jellyfish wall! That awesome!! I'm still amazed with that place even if I'm not a child anymore!! It is a most go place!!
The exhibits look rundown and dirty. I felt sorry for the poor creatures instead of marveling at their beauty. The artic foxes in particular looked sickly.
It seemed a little disorganized, but it was a decent facility. I enjoyed the jelly fish, and stingrays!
Good place but walk way under water is small.
Aquarium: 09/10 Staff welcoming : 10/10 Staff knowledgeable:10/10 Trying to find dive area but not able to find Love the atmosphere Too crowded The Aquarium closing timing are very bad it must be more then 4pm at least on weekends All types of Sharks were missing in the Aquarium Good place for children
It's a nice aquarium, but it's small. It'll take 2-3 hrs if that to see the place, that's if you watch some shows. They do have some BBQ place to eat, but I didn't get a chance to eat there. The day we went, it started raining
Do not go! I'll try to share the terrible experience I had. 1st of all: they advertise the polar bear exibition but they aren't there and won't be for the next year. 2nd. They don't tell you there are no polar beara, you just find out when you go and visit them. Few staff can effectively communicate in English. 3rd all the facilities tend to be old and lack care. I wonder how well they are treating the animals 4th during feeding exhibitions, they talk about 5 minutes in french and then say a couple sentences in English stating it's a bilingual show. 5 and last only because I'm too tired of writing about them, If you still want to go, grab some $5 discount coupons from a tourist booklet that can be found on la Maison Cafe or tourist info.
I was pretty impressed by the number of species this place had. You can even touch starfish, manta rays and a few others. My only complaint would be that the polar bears look absolutely miserable in the summer heat.
More people than you think. Reservation did not change anything???? And most of the people only wear mask when they see the worker in the aquarium, and when they don't see it, they remove it OMG. Prepare your self to wait 1 and half hours minimum to get inside the showroom ;) Good luck if you want to spend your day there!
Worth the visit. Specially for families / visiting with kids. Several different sections covering different groups of aquatic creatures. Shows on pre-set times which are quite entertaining. I mean why not? Animals are always cute.
Was great to explore, only downside is the attitude of the lady at the merch store. very rude to customers.
It's OK!
Biggest downfall half the park is closed . Took 1h to see the entire thing , could had spent the 48$/2 adults on something much better.
The aquarium is always fun! Lots of pretty cool animals to check out inside and out. The jelly fish were really cool to see as well.
Place was mobbed with children that I was constantly almost stepping on literally, and like water they would flood and fill in all spaces. They were cute though and hilarious as well. The tunnel under the tank was difficult to see as you had to constantly wipe the glass from the temperature variations. The cleaning of the tank show was fun, seeing the divers drop in and talk through full face masks in Québécois and in English. Wash you hands before and after the hands on marine exhibits! Come to think of it there are children everywhere touching things. Little stingrays that you were allowed to touch with 2 fingers as the swam by. There's a sweet spot to stand where they pop out and jump up and down and even headbutt your hand is by the counter where staff hang out... I assume its where they feed them ;-) Tide pools that were cold! Huge sea anemones, starfish. I was impressed with the stoutness and textures of these creatures. The outdoor exhibits felt sparse for the animals and strongly smelled of animal pee, I felt bad for the animals, but they didn't seem to care. They are beautiful to behold swimming around and pacing or hiding from the heat. Wow can I say we almost missed the Jellyfish exhibit? They were playing Icelandic alternative music and had colors cycling while the jellyfish swam in a dark environment. It was beautiful and greatly impressed me. Don't miss out on it! Owls that were facinating, sand castle exhibits that I found interesting, a small water park, more like setting and spraying park for kids, (but my adult self and accompanying lady made it a point to run through a few times as it was 94° Fahrenheit when we visited). They have a snack bar, popcorn candy soda's, the usual fare. I think sandwiches, but nothing that grabbed you and sparse to none on the vegetarian options. If you are patient and can relax in the surge and swells of chaos with large groups of children in the summer during camp field trips the exhibits are filled with exotic and interesting creatures. I'd go again even knowing there might be a gaggle of children running loose, and I mean 8+ school bus worth of them. Oh there are stands next to tanks built in so littles can peek into exhibits as well.
I found this place to be geared towards information and education rather than mere entertainment and showmanship. There were a lot of species in display and interesting facts to go along with it. The place was relatively clean. Didn't feel too bad about the poor animals who were in captivity.
Lots of sea and water creature to see. Super nice jellyfishes and seahorses. Touched anemones, stingrays. Even fed stingrays. Really awesome.
Great spot although many of the species are hard to spot in the winter. Also the interior could use a good cleaning.
The walruses were great and full of personality. They are outdoors. Inside are many fish.
Of course its beautiful but would not recommend it during this pandemic situation. It was very crowded and we had to wait 15 to go in.
Okay so I wasn't so sure I liked the idea of captive animals. But it seems they are treated very well. And I now know how big a walrus is. They are big.
Great experience the kids love the place. The animals are active and the place is well maintained. My kids are big fans of the jellyfish which there are a ton there, the playground and the small water park are very nice too. Only thing is the largest building is crowded with a massive line which takes literally forever to get through I left my wife and kids to play while I did it otherwise It would have been impossible to have the kids wait patiently. But overall a gear few hours experience if you're not stressed by time.
The polar bear exhibit was closed while we were there but otherwise it was a nice day spent at the aquarium. Great place to spend if it's a rainy day. Lots of hands on activities and a little park for kids. I loved their jellyfish exhibit, a really cool set up to it :)
The inside aquarium was intriguing, and the outdoor designed swamp was fun, but the big mammal exhibits we're far too small for their size and the food area was very dirty. Outdoor exhibits in serious need of improvement
This place is worth visiting if you are in Quebec. Please don’t compare it with Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto as both offer different experience other than exhibits. Here, you also have a splash pad, play park and open air picnic spots. I saw some rare species of jelly fish and other fish. The tickets are cheaper if you buy for a family (family tickets include 2 adults and kids of the same family until 17 years) The entry time to the park has to be reserved online while booking the tickets. Don’t forget to buy your tickets at least 4 days in advance otherwise you won’t be able to get the tickets for your desired date.
Great spot for a few hours
Amazing day. Great exhibition. My kids loved it! Specially the seahorses and touching the sting rays
Neat aquarium, took about 2 hours to see everything. It has more of a zoo-ish feel because they also have animals outside like seals, walrus, and some Arctic foxes. Don't miss the jellyfish and sting ray... everything is in separate buildings
Here at 3pm and sign says closed. Waste of time.
The animals were amazing, but honestly the procedures in place for covid are not great. The line up to get in was fine, but once inside its like no one was following the arrows in place or standing far enough apart (we kept having people standing right behind us, or not wearing masks when inside the enclosed aquarium) and none of the staff said or did anything to tell them otherwise. It was just sort of frustrating constantly having to tell people to stand back when we are trying to enjoy the aquarium. I wouldn't have gone had I known none of the procedures were really being enforced.
The place is badly designed, the tanks in the aquarium exhibition have poor lighting inside, on top of the ceiling that blind you if you wear glasses and also throw reflections everywhere inclusive on the tank glass, making looking inside the tank more of an exercise of visual acuity rather than patience. Also they are raised from the floor for little kids to watch inside the tanks, with a narrow sidewalk that has some rocks on top of it making it impossible for someone in a wheelchair to approach the tank and look from close. Also the hallways are quite narrow for the human flow that circulates there. There is nothing really interesting to see at the 1st and 2nd floor of the fresh water and salt water exhibition tanks and there is no explanation of what you get at 3rd floor. What you get at the 3rd floor is the most exciting : a snake petting zoo and in a floor to ceiling cylindrical tank, well illuminated from inside : an octopus! This animal had me mesmerized : I spent a good 15 minutes in front of that tank and I was so absorbed by it's behavior that my family told me I completely ignored them even when they tapped me on the shoulder to let me know they were moving away. The animal in itself was not huge, I approximate mantle length at like 30 cm but the arms on the cylindrical surface of the tank and the shape distortion of the round glass surface made it look larger. I was so absorbed because it behaved intelligently, I put my hand in it's visual range and moved it slowly towards it and it came to investigate : was I a good food menu option or was it trying to communicate something? Anyway a lot more intriguing behavior than the distant fish. Also downstairs they have a petting zoo for rays and sharks, a really shallow 10m diameter pond where you have some 30cm rays and some 50 cm sharks to pet. The rays have no stingers. The mammalian exhibition has a pool where some grey seals swim 8n a relatively shallow pool, next to them are the walruses, and next to them 2 polar bears. The male is the more impressive animal to look at, and at 400kg and 18 years old is quite the specimen. In the wild, the polar bear, the largest land carnivore living on planet Earth, can reach 800kg in body mass and lives around 18-20 years. In captivity it can live at up to 25 to 30 years. The female was more mellow and was swimming nonchalantly in the pool like inviting the visitor to swim together. Their swimming pool has a deep portion with a glass wall where the visitors can see them swimming and meet them face to face. The same deep portion of the swimming pool with a wall glass was present in the walruses enclosure as well. Too bad that these 2 phenomenal displays are not accessible for disabled people, a flight of stairs is done to come down to look these magnificent polar mammals in the eye!
Lack of aquatic mammals but the actuall aquatic life was top notch
I went there one month ago with frnds but that time they was just accepting who bought online tickets So I am suggesting everyone just buy tickets before go there Have a good trip ????
My daughter loved the tactile tanks. She was a huge fan of the fact that some of the rays seemed to keep returning to be touched.
Always a nice detour on our way out East. Family rate is reasonable. Only wish they had more live shows during day.
Awesome place to leave your kids in awe! Discovery, outdoor playground, diverse activities, great animations and passionate people (never have starfishs been described with such love!). And the yearly pass (daily pass is 20.50$ and yearly is 50$) is a true incentive for locals to just go there for an afternoon.
Disappointing, over priced for cost of admission. The so called "ocean tunnel" is a mere ~20 feet, L-shaped passage. All in all, if you want open space to let your monster kids run around, this is it. Otherwise, don't go. Won't miss much.
The most impressive acquarium I have visited in terms of engaging both kids and grown-ups. Exhibits are easily accessible even by those under a meter tall and most are well lit. The jellyfish exhibit is spaaaaacy. Very exciting!
Small aquarium but still fun to visit. I've been to the Toronto aquarium, Vancouver aquarium. This one is the smallest by far. But I still have a good time seeing the seals show and the polar bear. There's a nice picnic area for the family outside. Plan this visit on a nice weather, plenty of stuff needs walking and sitting outside.
Great for the whole family. Plenty to see in an hour and a half.
It was wonderful. Lots to see and do. Staff were excellent. Language not a barrier. Highly recommend it. Much better than Ripley's in Toronto.
Loved how well arranged and maintained were the grounds and all staff were absolutely amazing! Perfect!
Very good place. Will visit again.
Great place for kids with nice activities outside as well. You can easily spend the day there.
Decent aquarium, best part is the jellyfish display where the lighting colors change in the tank. The polar bear exhibit is being remodeled so didn't see that. Small aquarium compared to the Baltimore or Atlanta aquariums. But if you love to visit them, make the time while in Quebec.
I love this place! It's a shame that it was pouring rain the day that we went because 40% of the exhibit is outside. We stayed for 2 hours, but if the weather had been nicer, we would have stayed all day. The polar bears and the walruses were my favourite part of the aquarium. They also have a very nice jelly fish exhibit that will amaze you. Also, there is a pool full of sting rays and you get to touch them, which is pretty cool!
We had a wonderful experience bringing our son here. The layout is nicely planned out making it easy to see everything there is to offer. The jellyfish tanks stood out as the most exceptional sight and we ended up learning a lot about them as well. Some of the enclosures are way too small for the animals which was sad to see but if that doesn't bother you you'll enjoy coming here.
We enjoyed our visit to this Aquarium very much. There is plenty to see with lots of outdoor habitats for the larger animals. The polar bears were very active swimming around and rubbing up against the glass right next to us. We arrived …
Love this aquarium so so much! Only thing that’s bothering me is the polar bears enclosure. It definitely should have more of them and have a better/colder(if that make sense) enclosure especially during the hot summer days.
Its was nice but i hoped for activities
Fun spot for the kids. Enough interesting displays. A little sad for the seals/walrus. Was close to 40 degrees when we went in July. Polar bear display was under construction so we missed out on that.
Overall, it was a nice experince and COVID safe for all. Unfortunately due to COVID some shows and atractions were closed. I also think they took the time to renovate. In my opinion the water park does need an upgrade. Loved the medusa section. I would like to go back under different circumstances.
Just an overall great museum with plenty of nice activities for kids and cool animals. The food is not too good though but hey, what did you expect from a museum?
Unfortunately I was very underwhelmed at the aquarium. Admission was very high, over $20.00 for an adult. However the jellyfish area was incredible.
The overall experience was great- everything was opened to the general public, we got to see seal training, the polar bears, and the fantastic Jellyfish. Very informative staff!
The only bad thing is that if you have a baby that cant walk, you need to keep in your arm! No stroller in building!! And 60% of this was in building!
Nice clean place to spend time with kids. Need to book online due to covid.
Such a nice place. The staff were very helpful and kept the group and I interested. The animals were very cool and bring about to touch many of them was even better. We also found the food stands quite convenient too get a quick bite. I personally liked the hurricane simulator to kill time at the end.
I was expecting the aquarium and the tunnel to be bigger than what it is, but still you get to see many different marine lives in one place. Beside that, you get to see so many interesting fish types. The only downside is maybe the lack of any information board for each fish type. There are only boards with each fish name and picture, nothing more. You can also touch some underwater creatures in a designated area, which can be fun for some people. In the outside, the male walruses were fighting (or wrestelling) the whole time, and the female one was just ignoring them. We didn't see much more outside, plus if you checkin at 14:30, you only have 1.5 hours before they close.
Poorly maintained aquarium. We saw many sad animals in their plastic basins, and no one answering the children's questions. To avoid
I went there for the evening light show. I felt there weren't enough led lights. Some were not turned on...maybe they were burnt out? On a positive note, there were bouncy castles (excellent activity for kids to stay warm), lamp warmer, fire pits and a lil live concert.
Always a great activity for the kids, the deep sea environment with medusa is wonderful. A good balance of price/fun/learning activity. The Water Parc section could be improved a little, but that is a minor thing.
Always a good time with the little ones.
It's better to buy the tickets online,,, because of the covid-19,,, there's line up for tickets and indoor aqua. But the aquarium is clean and fun without crazy line up,,just feel a bit small,,,At the end ,i want to buy some souvenir, but the line up was crazy, feel a bit sad
What an amazing aquarium this is! The outdoor space is beautiful and the animals are even better! The seals and walruses were very active and we enjoyed watching them swim and play. …
Great experience, loved being able to touch some of the animals. Its not very big but everything is really nice.
Nice place to gang out with kids. During summer, there is a park where they can play as well. Seeing the polar bears swim under water level, through window, is very impressive for young children. The walrus show is also very funny.
I know this place is typically for kids and families, but I said what the heck always wanted to visit an aquarium. The pictures I posted was the only highlight of my trip. Why? Because the rest was very distasteful. I am talking about the animal abuse committed to the sea lions and polar bears. Yes POLAR bears in Quebec city. Already they are not surviving global warming in the north pole but suffering gravely here. Such atrocity!
Small, with a couple of nice exhibits. Not worth the drive we took after seeing the Toronto aquarium or Boston. Children were not impressed and whole family was quite bored!
It's critical that you call ahead in the summer and find out when the school kids will be there. The aquarium was overrun on the day we were there. Exhibits were fine. The outdoor exercise area was a huge hit with the kids in our group. You can bring in your own food and drinks in a cooler.
I parked my car in the free parking 2 and i walked. The aquarium is so beautiful and the staff is very informative and helpfully courteous. The acquarium is rich with many varieties of species. I was very curious, some animals are fascinating and some are very surprising. Shapes, colors and way of life you can see them all: I was very astonished by the seahorse that looks like a plant and has prismatics colors. Also, the Jelly fish that lives upside down and her tentacles are like a flamenco dancer. Another section of the aquarium i went under the dome and a huge fish was swimming above me together with a scuba diver. It was great fun. There are in the open gardens arctic wolves, polar bears and over sized Walruses. I was leaning on the glass and they came to stick themselves on the same window i was standing. I enjoyed the sea lions dancing in the water and swimming on their back. What made me feel hope is that one of the jelly fish never dies and scientists are doing research on it to help heal aging men. Another worrying fact is that when the fishermen cut the large jelly fish and throw it back in the sea, each piece becomes one jelly fish! So much to see and so little time...
Nuce experience while in Quebec city. The jellyfish exhibition is pretty cool and the sea animals are super nice and even friendly. There are some displays, mostly for seals during the day, but nothing mindblowing. The place is well organized and accessible for kids. Interactive areas where you can touch a manta ray and a starfish.
Very nice experience some kind of fish I have never seen before
We took a group of Girl Guides to the aquarium, and the staff was very helpful right from the start explaining where it would be best to go first and helping us with the map. Lots of things to see and do, the walrus show was great, and the fish tunnel was very interesting. The Children get to touch the stingrays. Very clean place, everything is well taken care of. Lots of indoor/outdoor activities. Great for all ages.
Very nice place to visit with young kids. Mostly domestic animals but some exotics to. Better to see during the summer time.
Fun and great place to visit, very interactive
Nice variety of animals but the enclosures/aquariums are depressingly small. Bought a ticket to see walruses but was left feeling quite bad for them. Only exception would be the polarbear enclosure which seema to have been recently upgraded and looks very nice.
Great place to visit in Quebec city. With a little patience you will have fun for sure. It was a little less entertaining with the absence of the BBQ and ice-cream areas, however, it has some fantastic views and animals. Seems they have shows too but every where was empty due to Covid. We had fun. PS there is a splash pad here so you can bring some water kits.
Zoos are educational but sad at the same time. It was nice to see the animals moving around though and playing with their toys. The polar bears were the highlight. You can touch the sting-rays and make a donation to feed them a little fish. Surprisingly, they had a blue macaw too. They have a cafeteria on premises. The food was 7/10 and reasonably priced.
It was a nice place with lots of cool stuff to see! From plankton to walruses and polar bears. The layout was a good mix of indoor pavilions and outdoor sections.
Fine, but shorter than expected.
This place was really cool, got to touch a stingray. The Jellyfish exhibit was also really neat. There's lots of fun stuff for the kids.
The aquarium here was fine. It was clean and easy to navigate. Unfortunately when we were there the polar bear exhibit was closed, which would have been amazing to see. It felt a bit on the smaller side compared to other aquariums I have been to as well. I enjoyed by time there, but I would not go back again. If you have about 3 hours to kill, it is worth the time to go. Just do not expect to be blown away. There are a ton of hands on exhibits for kids in the different buildings, so children would enjoy it much more than an adult.
Great aquarium! +Polar bears, walrus, seals, nordic foxes. Great for kids. Lots of attendees on site. Lots of parking. 2h30 hours of fun.
I went here this past fall with my wife and kiddo. We had a great time, the exhibits we're very interesting, andathere was plenty to do to easily fill a half day of exploring. We went on a weekday and it was not crowded at all so we were able to really enjoy everything at our own pace. I also felt that the price was reasonable. The jellyfish exhibit was super fun.
Excellent place. Lots of fun for children!
Great experience with kids of ANY age. It is the perfect size for a 2 hour experience and so reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Note, I was not aware a portion of it was outside and not dressed appropriately. So if you are going in the dead of winter like I did, dress for outdoor exhibition.
We went on a rainy day, thinking it would be all indoors, so we didn’t get to enjoy all of the outdoor areas and shops as much as we would have on a sunny day. The cashier did let us know that 40% of the exhibits were outdoors, so I will give them credit for notifying the guests beforehand. All-in-all this is a solid activity for kids and the price is quite reasonable ($55 taxes in for two adults and a three year old). My wife was also very impressed with the private room they had for infant feeding - one of the best she’s used.
Lots of fun, doesn't fill the whole day for adults (likely would with children), but a great half-day!
Insanely fun! It can be crowded, but there's lots of interactive stuff for people of all ages. Great view of the St Laurence and bridges.
Excellent for familly outings. Fun for everyone at a good price. Food is good. The jelly fish exhibit is beyond nice.
We really enjoyed the aquarium. The jelly fish section was really facinating. Our family really liked the hands on component (touching starfish and sting rays and sharks) and the demonstrations. We got stuck behind a large school group a couple of times. Not a big deal outside, but inside it was a quite awkward to move around and see things, especially with strollers in the mix. I think the aqaurium could manage this a little better. Still giving it 5 stars for content and quality. Demonstrations were all in french (as expected), but several staff were able to answer questions and converse in english as well.
A really nice aquarium that has a nice mix of animals that all seem to be treated really well. The place offers nice indoor and outdoor areas and the polar bears are worth the visit alone. The main issues I had were that the restaurant was using plastic forks, hopefully this was just temporary due to Covid-19, I find these museums should be environmentally friendly as can be as they tend to show how animals should be treated with respect and care, which would extend to the environment as well. Secondly, the gift shop did not seem to support any local production. I find a big variance with museums, some really try to offer original, local items while others offer more generic stuff you can just by anywhere. Still overall we had an excellent time, just no souvenir to bring home.
Its excellent place to live with the nature world!!!
Beautiful exhibits and lovely grounds
It was bigger than I expected. Lots to see outside. hopefully will be back in the summer.
Cool
Amazing place!!! $67.27 for a family of 4. Free parking. Allows you to bring in your own food and drinks!! Highly recommend the place.
Great aquarium, very interesting. Lots of fun for young kids! We learned a lot about stingrays, walruses, and many other kinds of fish and mammals! We laughed a lot. The polar bears were a little listless, but that's understandable in the hot Quebec sun. The highlight of the whole fantastic experience was the underwater tunnel through the tank full of many kinds of exotic, exciting, and rare fish! I saw a clownfish up close!
Really great place to enjoy your day out. There is plenty of ocean life to see here. Some views from outdoor park are great too.
It was fine. Kinda like when you ask your wife if she's ok and she tells you she's fine. Decent Covid19 prevention. Clean washrooms. Kind and congenial staff. The sea horse exhibit and and jellyfish were awesome.
I really liked the jellyfish exhibit in the aquarium. It was mesmerizing. The polar bear show was good as well although there wasn’t an English version of the show when I went there. There are a lot of aquatic animals.
A must for families visiting beautiful Qc City.
Really nice aquarium, is about 50% outside so dress for the weather.
This is a great aquarium. The layout of the place is amazing. Some of the animals are inside and some are outside. It's really family friendly. Shows are fun and informative.
Good way to spend a day
Very interesting
Great place to bring children and learn about the St Lawrence River. There were a few exhibits that were closed that detracted from the experience. There are a lot of outdoor exhibits, bring sunscreen and water on hot days as shade is limited.
Different locations on site and a nice playground and water park for the kids to wine down after the visit. Kids practically slept all the way home.
Love this place... Very cool!
Good for a relaxing day
We arrived late so there was not much activity happening. Since this is not my first time here, I am glad to see they reinvest to offer more and better exhibits. I definitely recommend a visit for the whole family to see and learn more about animals and their environments.
The park in winter sleeping. Huge plus for this time of year - small amount of people. Doesn't matter which pictures likes your eyes, all pictures here - magic and relax. Just Fantastic. I recommend.
Great place to visit ..
It is like the low budget version of Toronto Aquarium.
Very nice place
Needs some updates. The people who work here try to do their best despite the fact that the availability of animals is limited. It will be fun for small kids.
The experience of visiting here is very calming and nice, the animals are nice to watch and tend to not hide too much and are visible most of the time. It's a worthwhile visit
Love it fun for the family
Very nice experience we've had. That day it was about 10 celcius but no matter what they were outside feeding the walruses and explaining the visitor lots of different things about walruses. Very interesting and a nice variety of fish and other sea animals.
It is fine. I was a little dissapointed with the lenght of the tunel.... it is very short. The places for the seals and walruses are little... I felt bad for them.
Had a fantastic time in the snow at the aquarium. Loved the polar bears and arctic foxes in particular, but all the exhibits and animals are well done and look well cared for.
Great experience, wasn't expecting the insect festival, so that was a plus. Tried to get a season pass, but due to price changes I'll have to wait till another day.
Very fun, instructive, beautiful! The jelly fish section is mesmerizing! Must visit!
It's a nice aquarium, but it's small. It'll take 2-3 hrs if that to see the place, that's if you watch some shows. They do have some BBQ place to eat, but I didn't get a chance to eat there. The day we went, it started raining
A nice little aquarium. Jelly fish were mesmerizing. They allow you to touch some of their star fish on one of the floors. Also, they have "meet our animals" at some points in a day. Plan your trip including these hours. Particularly those arctic foxes, seals, polar bears and walruses would be enjoyable.
Overall nice experience but it was a little dirty ive seen much better aquariums and lots of the animals you could'nt even see. It's a nice family visite if you've done and seen everything else their is to see. Too expensive for what it is.
The aquarium was wonderful! So many interesting animals to see, both underwater and over. If you get the chance, donate to their ray conservation fund, because they let you feed the rays, which I call puppies of the sea! So cute! I think the sea dragons were my favourite, but the seals, walruses, and polar bears were big family favourites!
Wonderful experience.!
Was an ok experience wish there was sharks and wales also i was very excited to see polar bears but it was closed for renovation wish i knew that before hand
Took Uber from Rue Mont Carmel near Chateau Le Frontenac to get there, it took about 15-20 minutes. It was a cloudy drizzling afternoon and it was quiet and not crowded. You still need to walk outside to go from one building to another, so a rainy day isn't the best time to visit. This is a smaller aquarium compared with other places but there is still much to see. A good 2-3 hours would be fair game. We saw lots of different kinds of fishes, big and small. Sturgeons, eels, piranhas, carps, pikes, muskellunge, stingrays, horseshoe crab, poisonous Lion fish, sea horses, sea dragons, few sharks and little Nemo. We also saw lots of jellyfish. There were area for petting sea anemones, starfish, stingrays and look for blue lobster in one of those tanks. There was a live show with the walrus and seals. There were also boa constrictor. The arctic foxes were napping, so that's no fun and there was renovation work at the polar bears. It was overall a great experience for a gloomy cloudy afternoon
Small aquarium with less animals to look at. We enjoyed our chance to look at polar bears & walrus. The aquarium needs cleaning. You cant really see the fishes and other animals as the glasses are not clean. A walk inside the jelly fish aquarium is good. We felt the animals needed more space than what they are in.
As parents of 2 kids below the age of 8, and coming from Ontario, we were looking forward to this visit. It so happened that it was a gloomy, rainy day in June that we went. The best thing to see was the jelly fish exhibit which is right beside the entrance. The walrus show was nice, but the entire explanation was done in French, most likely due to the large number of school kids there that day. The main exhibit which houses the tunnel was a little underwhelming as, unfortunately we have been to bigger tunnels at Ripley's aquarium and the Dubai aquarium in Atlantis. Due to the rainy day, we were unable to explore the outdoor water park and the kids adventure place, which both of our kids were looking forward to. So it seems that if you are thinking of coming here for a rainy day indoors, you will only get 50% of your moneys worth. Overall our experience could have been improved if it was not raining.
Visited in the fall with boyfriend and his parents. We enjoyed ourselves but next time I would prefer to visit in the summer as there is a fair amount of walking outdoors between attractions.
Awesome place for kids as well as adults ! Will definitely go back, enjoy my pictures
We were there early. It was very nice but as the day went on, there was more and more people and it was the right time to leave. The place is great.
Lovely aquarium with lots of things to see and do. The jellyfish exhibit was especially interesting. Also fun to touch the stingrays!
Nice place to visit. Summer would be more fun to visit.
It was a rainy day when I took my almost 2 year old daughter but the jelly fish and sea horses tank made for it. We were allowed to touch the sea cucumber, the sting rays and the anemones. Really friendly happy staff. I have never seen such a happy polar bear in another zoo or aquarium but its QC and there was snow everywhere. It would have been 5 stars if it was not so muddy rainy and more tropical & colourful tanks inside
Well worth a visit on a nice sunny day ! Lot to see and do !
The jelly fish room and the tunnel alone are worth the drive!
Awesome place, a must go if you are visiting Quebec City
Very nice aquarium. Well maintained and educational. Be forewarned that the exhibitions are narrated primarily in French so if you are not fluent you will miss a lot of what is being said. That said it is still very worthwhile.
The staff were very helpful. The animals looked incredible and well-cared for. I definitely recommend anyone visit when they are in the area.
Honestly surprised on how much we enjoyed our visit here. Only 3 minutes drive from our hotel. Plenty of free parking. Be sure to wear snow pants during the winter season or dress accordingly for cold weather as there are outdoor trails leading you to the seals, walruses, polar bear, artic foxes, owls etc. There were quite a few displays under construction in the indoor displays but that will allow us to see more on our next visit. Awesome place to visit and learn with the family. We'd like to return in the summer and see what they have to offer.
A very exciting place to spend a few hours. It was enjoyable, with lots of fun animals to see and interact with. My personal favorite was Borris the walrus, but all were amazing. At the time of my visit, the polar bear exhibit was under reconstruction, so I was unable to see that portion.
Well laid out and good exhibits. The polar bear habitat was being updated and I would have liked the whole place to be bigger but still good value
Excellent family destination. You can bring your own food, visit the premises, attend shows with walruses, polar bears and seals. Great playground for the kids... a must when visiting Quebec City !
Since it is a large and one of the most visited place in Quebec, i suggest to go there in the morning, as in the afternoon, the lineup gets long. They have a wonderful display of different species, a beautiful landscape and different shows to offer including the animals. My special favorite was touching the little stingray!
Little bit small. This aquarium is amazing the touch tanks were excellent and the exhibits were well kept.
what a great day it was. been waiting to visit. the place is well maintayand the staff is friendly and helpful. easy to access, easy to park close to the entrance. many restrictions because of covid, but still well managed and easy to navigate. most of all, kids had most fun and want to go back!
Amazing place to learn and enjoy! All the exhibits are beautiful. We love the octopus and the amazing anemones!
Visited during the pandemic and despite a few long queues, once inside, it felt like a VIP experience since every family social distanced. You could see the fish in peace. Très cool.
Lovely animals and atmosphere
Can be overcrowded sometimes, especially with young families, but that's what happens when you have such a fun place to visit. Great facilities!
It was ok if you were already in the city for other purposes and needed an activity, it's very small to attract tourist to the city for the aquarium itself. The aquarium is smaller than I expected after reading it's website.
Not super large but very satisfying. They have dual carts to take the smaller kids much faster than using your own stroller. Walruses, polar bears, sea lions, jellyfishes and even a blue macaw. If you are into touching animals, hit the stingrays' pond!
Nice place to go. It was very interesting animals and i loved to touch them. I Saw the instalations un good conditions to be sure that all of them could live happy. I just missed the polar bear which was actually my reason To go there.
Good aquarium but was surprised to see real live polar bears living outside. This is not their climate :/ they looked bored in their small enclosure. Where is the SPCA?
Maybe it’s because I went in winter, so it’s really really boring, but anyway, I hope the animals can be more happy.
Very small aquarium... Little bit disappointed...Best part they have polar bears...It will be fun for kids... It's in entrance of quebec city
"Entry fee for two adults 43$". Try to go and book your time between 10-12 if you want the best chance to see the performances with the outdoor animal . If you take take your time it can last from about 1-3. Thé staff were incredible the way they treated and performed with the seals and walruses, it was really fun to see that everything was respected there by the staff. Great adventure for the whole family in my book. Check my photos for what to expect!
I'm very disappointed because their politique of refund is absolutely out the context. I bought the tickets for my kids (under 5yo), my wife and me; but one of my kids had symptoms of Covid (fever, coughing, etc) 3 days before to go. So we prefered to cancel, stay at home between we received the results of the test and my boy was getting better. For that reason I contacted customer service explaining all this. They gave me the opportunity to change the date, however the lapse between we received the results, organize the travel (we live in Montreal)and taking care of my kids was to close. When we was ready because my son was getting well, we contact the customer service again trying to change the day; but they refused and we lost the money! Just to let you know we bought the tickets for monday 12 july and we were asking to change for 16 july. No more than 1 week.
Very average zoo with some above average exhibits (string ray petting, huge walruses) but worth the family (of 6) admission rate of $60!
Small place but great to keep kids busy. Bring swimwear for kids and/or adult you can cool off under sprinkles.
This is a nice aquarium. It has several buildings with a nice park experience to walk around. The exhibits are good and if you go slow and read everything and spend some time at each tank you can make a day of it. Having been to other city's aquariums this one does the over all experience well (great play ground, pretty our door walk ways, clean, and easy to navigate even with a stroller, really nice touch pools) but some of the exhibits are not as impressive as other locations (the tube where you walk through the tank is small other places have more fish and larger variety including more sharks/Ray's). I'm glad we went we had a nice day but I don't ever need to go back.
Beautiful aquarium, a lot more fun than expected!! You’re able to pet some of the sea mammals, my kids adores that. It’s a fairly big area, many aquariums that are just beautiful. Totally awesome family outing!
Fun place to enjoy and learn about life underwater. Interact with sea creatures like starfish and stingray. See polar bears and arctic foxes outside. Enjoy the glowing jelly fish. Good place for a family outing
Excellent get away for an experience like no other. I've been to quite a few aquariums, but this one out ranks all of them. I wish the polar bear exhibit was open when we were there, but now next summer during the Justin Bieber concert, we have somewhere to visit again.
Fantastic aquarium and a very decent price. A perfect place to spend a couple hours.
Assistant there are very knowledgeable on theirs subjects and species diverse enough to spent 3hrs inside. Visitors can also remain outside all day long
Great place to spend the day.
Has a wide variety of fish, including many salt water fish and fresh water fish. Though it gets pretty busy, I think it's worth going once or twice!
I can imagine this would be a really nice place to visit in the summer months, but given the -7 Fahrenheit and half of the experience being outdoors it was a little rough. The polar bears, walrus and sea lions were fully entertained, but I felt more like a popsicle.
Not huge, but plenty to take up the whole day for a visitor with an actual attention span. I'm giving this place 5 stars mainly cuz of the employees -- the college kids who work here clearly love their jobs -- friendly, engaged, and enthusiastic. Management is doing something right!
I actually would prefer to the Aquarium de Quebec 3.5 stars but since that option isn't available bump it up to 4 for friendly staff. Important to note is that it's an indoor and outdoor place, more like a Marine World type place than just an Aquarium. So dress warm in the winter! It's nicely laid out and has some cool stuff to see. We never like to see big animals in small enclosures so that was definitely not a plus. The building with the jellyfish and such was quite amazing and definitely our favourite. We didn't get to visit the children's play park because there was too much snow and it was too cold. Overall if you've never been to an aquarium it's worth a visit, but if you have you're not missing anything by missing this one.
a nice place to visit during summer as there is a lot of outdoor activities. during winter the outdoor activities are limited but still a good place to be. my 2 years old daughter loved it.
Loved the experience and the staff was all very knowledgeable
The aquarium is overpriced. Half of the exhibits were shut down for renovations, and the ticket desk didn't share that information when selling tickets. The tank water was so murky, you could barely see the fish. Also, the walk under tank from the Google photos for this aquarium does not exist.
Oh boy... pretty bad... it literally took my family and I one hour & a half to do the whole park. That’s including play time at the park. There were no shows going on, no life, just regular jelly fish & regular fish. It actually looks like the place is going to shut down. The only highlight was the polar bear.
Worth every minute. Reserve online, show up at your time, show your vaccine passport and enjoy the visit. Great overall setup with one direction through the exhibits. Lots to see and learn for all ages. Our Daughter and us thoroughly enjoyed the visit and everything there is to learn.
Nice place, a lot of activities are outside so be prepared to bring a coat and gloves and umbrella in case of rain. The fish tanks were nice and it is a nice stop on your way out or in to Quebec city. It was nice to be able to interact with some of the marine life such as touch starfish and rays. It however is smaller than expected.
good, not too big not too small. good price for family
U must visit this place .. ????????????????????????
Staff was very friendly, the place is interactive and very educational. We found it to be cleaned and well kept. Loved our visit, great place to show to kids.
For the price it wasn't bad, but it was very crowded and since there wasn't much too see we left after two hours. They needed to have more show times to handle the summer crowds or have more to see.
This is a really nice place to go if you're an animal lover. You can see they take really good care of them. Bring your kids they'll be amazed. There's a lot to see. Everytime I go there I'm glad and I will never get bored to go there. Tips: You have to try the brunch (every Sunday) it's an all you can eat and it is delightful. I think it's the best breakfast brunch in Quebec. On top of that, it's just 10$ more to eat.
Loved every bit of it. It even made up for the polar bear exhibit being under renovations. The weather (cloudy and slushy) and wave of kids from school put a hamper on our visit, but that's out of the establishment's control. We'll be making a point of visiting again in the summer!
The jellyfish Pavilion was so beautiful and polar bear was interesting. It was a good place for kids.
Very cool aquarium!
Very inspiring place but requires maintenance - some educational displays not working or incomplete, some fish seemed to be in rather poor conditions (eyes missing, fins damaged - maybe it's natural but it looks sad). And as a foreigner who speaks no French I felt a bit neglected - the presentations were given only in French. A visit recommended for kids and adults alike. I paid a full adult ticket but feel like I got only 60% of the potential value also because there were no outdoor shows despite there is nice big arena near the seal pool (because of the low season?) but nobody told us when we arrived.
There were hardly anyone here when we came (in the winter), but I imagine there to be more people in the summer? The aquarium is fairly large, and kind of strike me as a small zoo more. First time seeing foxes in an aquarium, but definitely the highlight.
So much fun to bring children.
Hands down, the best aquarium I've ever visited. Spent all morning checking out the exhibits, and then realized we could have spent a few more hours at the playground.
My daughter had a lot of fun feeding the Ray but we didn't like to see the Polar Bears, the Sea Lions or the White foxes on very small space! Too bad because the employees were super friendly and helpful.
While the staff seems to try and maintain a relationship with the animals, the aquarium doesn't seem to have a big budget to work with. The animal enclosures are WAY too small, there's plastic plants in the fish tanks which are way too overcrowded, and the whole place is old and dirty and falls apart. The owls are kept in tiny cubes big enough for maybe sparrows, but not birds that have a huge flight range. The Walrusses, huge animals, have the tiniest little pool to swim back and forth in and do little tricks in exchange for fish (not their natural food source). All in all this place needs a big money injection and new management.
The inside aquarium and the gellyfish was great. BUT I found the outside installations depressing. Especially the polar bear and the walrus concrete pool. Quite sad. In need of a major makeover.
Very nice aquarium with beautiful expositions and landscape. The aquarium itself isn't very big compared to others and there isn't a huge number of animals. Also the polar bear area had been under repair for a very long time without opening. Nevertheless it's a very fun experience, especially for kids. There's a variety of food options, nice picnic areas and playground.
Awesome place to be. It's a must that you should visit this place.. Dont forget to get your kids and girlfriend. As you will have an amazing experience in this Aquarium. Jelly fishes, Polar Bears, seals and lot more fun. Additionally it is beside the Quebec Bridge. So you can take beautiful pictures of the Bridge from the Aquarium.
Nice place to visite lots to see. Staff is friendly.
Loved our visit. It reminded me a lot of the aquarium in salt lake. They have arranged the marine life by continent. I especially loved seeing the larger fish. Sturgeon and piranha. The kids zone was a big hot as our kids could touch the anemones crabs and Ray's. That was fantastic. They also have a great outdoor playground with a splash pad.
It was bigger than I expected. Lots to see outside. hopefully will be back in the summer.
Really a must see if you visiting Quebec city. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the animals seem well cared for.
*Make sure to book your tickets prior to going there as they will not let you in* Went there two adults, it was raining outside so it was good activity to do for that type of weather. Aquarium was nice to see, nothing mind-blowing but its excellent for families and just generally to walk around. Enjoyed seeing the face that some animals acquired like the foxes and owls were rescues. Would recommend as an activity for families and for a rainy day.
Really nice place. Really good species collection and really well presented. The underwater tunel is amazing. Its both outside and inside and right by the river so if you go during the winter dress warm especially if you bring kids. Its also a sanctuary so you know the admission fee is for a good cause.
There are two polar bears. They are mischievous and naughty guys.
This aquarium is fabulous. A great way to spend a couple of hours checking out sea life. They also have some outdoor play activities for children and some good eats.
Separate indoor and outdoor exhibits, the larger more interesting ones being outdoors, dress accordingly or you can miss out. Free parking
We went there with our daughter, but we went on a weekday with no schools in the low season, so we loved it. We were able to see all the fish without having to wait / wiggle our way through other kids. When a staff member was at a "touching" station like the star fish / rays, it felt like we had a personal trainer, they showed us neat stuff and explained things they sometimes don't have the time to do. We went to the seal show as well, which was entertaining, my daughter laughed a few times. We managed to see everything except the polar bear who's housing is being renovated. Took us about 1 hour and 15 mins. We were a little bit disappointed about the water tunnel, it's about 12 feet long, not that impressive, especially after seeing the one in Vegas that's much bigger. However, all the windows were clear and we could see the fish without an issue. Overall, nice experience, would definitely recommend to families, especially if you can go at a low season like us. I can't say how the experience must be when it's high season.
My family enjoyed our visit at the Aquarium of Quebec. They've got a quite large variety of large fishes. There's even a tunnel where you will see yourself surrounded by them. Surprisingly, they also had other animals (walrus, dolphins, wolf and owles). The best part was the jelly fish exhibit. It was breathtaking. The only shortfall is that the visit in the acquarium itself felt kind of short.
Our kids loved the experience. The outdoor gardens, climbing ropes and playground in combination with the touching stations for the fish and stingrays were amazing.
Pretty cool. Actually it was a little bit too cool outside to spend much time with the seals, walrus, and polar bears. Listen to the person about the anemones, sea stars, and urchins they are very knowledgeable
Would give 5 stars if we were a normal family but my youngest is autistic and it was sensory overload for him, so we cut our visit shorter than we had planned. Our oldest enjoyed it, especially the tunnel.
Very interested place.
When my friend told me we were going to an aquarium I thought it would only be fish like other ones. However seeing an actual polar bear, seals and walruses for the first time was amazing.
I loved the experience
I loved the experience
Amazing place to learn and enjoy! All the exhibits are beautiful. We love the octopus and the amazing anemones!
Very nice aquarium. There are seahorses, river and ocean fishes. My favourite were the jelly fishes. There is also an external area to see seals and owls. You can also touch some stingrays and starfishes, however this is not possible with the COVID measures. Fees are a little expensive ($21 per adult)
Pretty good aquarium experience. The jellyfish and seahorse exhibits were amazing and absolutely worth visiting. I didn't expect that some of the exhibits would be outside though (the weather was freezing during the winter). Their polar bear exhibit was under renovation at the time of our visit (December 2019), so we didn't get to see polar bears. Their bistro cafe food is also quite decent. You can get a sandwich with 2 salad sides or soup for 12$.
A great family time
It was fun to see the seals, sea lions and polar bear. However, watching the main marine museum made me feel a bit disappointed like something is lacking.. Probably because the aquarium I have seen is too good in South Asian countries, or the marine museum is showing so many Chinese fish that I can always eat in my diet.???????????????????? The stingray and jellyfish museum is impressive and worth to explore, there’s also an interesting parrot which will get envy and angry if you play with the stingrays...????????
The facilities and enclosures are old and need some improvements, but they have a great collection from freshwater and saltwater environments.
Love it, place very clean and lots of fishes and animals to see.
All the exhibits were so cool! I don't know what else you want... I went by myself at the end of the day, and it was still a blast. Highly reccomend. p.s. It did look like it would be a lot more fun in the summer with more people.
This aquarium was reviewed to be a nice place to go with a family. When I visited I was extremely unpleased. They have animals that are being treated very poorly in almost every exhibit I saw.The area for the polar bears is on the side of a building with chipped paint and weeds covering the Area. The walrus enclosure was not acceptable. This very large animal had a very small pool with nothing other than a pool noodle for cognitive stimulation. If they stepped up the way they took care of the animals this may be more of a fun experience for the guests and the animals at large.
It was freezing but an amazing experience.
Alot of cretures to see.
Not a very well run attraction. Many of the animals looked sick, or about to die. Very little staff around, so not a lot of information, other than the sparse signage. Also, it's pretty small, we did the entire property in about 1.5 hrs.
Our 2 year-old twins loved their first experience! Remember that they have a small water park (several sprays), so remember to pack swimming suits and towels!
Good place to go with family. Lots of fish, including aquarium tunnel. Great place for pictures, and we really enjoyed the playgrounds with activities.
Pretty nice overall. I went with my sister and her two kids. The kids had a lot more fun than I did, but it was fun to watch them run around, learn and explore.
Incredible animals, good spot for families.
One of the best aquariums Ive been too. Clean, nice staff, awesome exhibits. Interactive stuff is fun (touch annemonies and some very freindly stingrays) Walruses are awesome and the arctic foxes are adroable. Jellyfish under color changing LEDs is really mesmorizing. Worth it just for that. 10/10. Will be back again.
Have gone here each summer for the last 13 years as a family.
Super nice outing for the family with a large outdoor section that is particularly enjoyable during the hot summer days with a picnic area and water games.
Amazing structure. Worth the visit for 2.5hours approx. Besides the fish and water creatures they have Polar Bears, Walrus, Seals , Foxes and Owls.
It was super fun! There were some very pretty and cool sea creatures. Unfortunately the polar bears were out when I was there so I didnt see them, but there are different pavilions with different kinds of animals and I really liked the deep sea one which had jellyfish. I also loved the stingrays. There was a nice gift shop (which was rather expensive) and I bought 2 stingray plushies.
Most fun aquarium ever been at!????
I really enjoyed going here, it is definitely one of those tourist points you have to visit at least once. They give you a different experience for every area of the aquarium, but definitely some of the best are the starfish and rays petting areas, and the staff is always helpful, answering your questions and giving info on the animals. Totally recommend a try
Fun indoor place to be especially when it is raining. Love the outdoor exhibits especially the white arctic foxes
If you're visiting Quebec City, this is a great place to see for the whole family. The aquarium is seperated in multiple sections and circulating through them is a breeze. My personal favourite was the deep sea section. They have a specific section dedicated to jellyfish and the colors are AMAZING. Something straight out of a Disney movey.
super awesome place, lots of fun for the kids and the animals are amazing
A zoo-aquarium. Animals are NOT happy here nt enough habitat, staff seemed nice but I cried on my way home. However, that's what I do every time I see wild animals that are in captivity.
At first, I doubt it would be a good idea to visit the Aquarium in winter, but it is good to. Only the exterior may be a little more challenging because of the cold weather, but everybody could get much fun. The activities are as usual educative and nice to do.
There's a lot to see.. good place for all specially for kids... only downside price i'd said is a bit to much.. anyway that's my personal opinion
This place is fantastic. My son couldn't get enough of the jelly fish and petting the manta rays. A great place for any visitor in town. We were only disappointed we weren't able to see the polar bears as the enclosure was being renovated, nothing on the website mentioned it.
I enjoyed this little Aquarium/Zoo! Great way to spend a few hours visiting with the polar bears to the jelly fish! They even have a little sea dragon!
If u have kids or love fish uts amazing. Make sure u talk to employees. They re passionate nd u ll learn a lot if u re curious
Fun for the whole family!!
Great place to watch at any age
I didn't like the conditions of the polar bear and others animals on the exterior (too hot for the poor guys... and the space is too small). In general the fishes and others water animals are better treated. And the aquarium isn't accessible by public transport! If you take a local bus (25) you'll have to walk a lot and (worst of all) on the highway. There's no sidewalk!
Lots of fun! Lots to see inside and out! Great setup with a nice surprise of a small splash pad and park for kids. Was hoping to see a whale or shark or a bigger fish!
Two new baby Walrus born in summer of 2016.
Even with less than comforting cold, it was very nice! These little shows with seals are awesome!!! Just make sure to check the schedule beforehand!
Nice place
One of the best places to visit and have fun time with family in Quebec!
This place is Super Wow! We visited in late November and shared the whole place with maybe 10 - 15 other families. Fewer show times than in summer but there were no line ups and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted with each exhibit. This is an indoor and outdoor facility so dress accordingly if visiting while it's cold outside. There are many coat hangers in the pavilion Staff were all friendly, welcoming and interested to talk about, and show us the animals. The children were very engaged. We made an effort to parle en francais and the interactions and experience where hugely rewarding. All signs are in French and English but I recommend that you take an opportunity to try speaking in French, even if it's not good and you're embarrassed, it is very much appreciated. Got to see many of the animals being fed. Had a serious chat with the owls. Beautiful toys in the gift shop. The children LOVED riding around in a cart, didn't have to pay to rent it, was useful to carry around all the children's winter gear. Would recommend, especially to families.
Great space for kids. Has playground, obstacle course like structures, splash area for youngsters along with indoor and outdoor and touch/explore areas.
A little bite sad, I guess this summer will be better, I also notice that the area are way to small for the animal :/ hope there some upgrade soon
It is really a beautiful place, but all the animals live in habitats that do not belong. let's not support zoos!
During Covid, they accept too many people, creating a 1h30 lineup in full sunlight with no shade for the main building tanks. Going through said building takes roughly 20 minutes. Flow was slow but steady and acceptable throughout up to that part.
Just a great experience with lots for the entire family.
Great spot. Not too big, but great price for a couple of hours of fun.
Must see if you're in quebec! The pictures say it all
We had a pleasant moment there, lots to see and very entertaining for kids. The sea horses, the jelly fish tanks, the ray and anemones pools where you can pet them, and Boris the walrus and the tunnel were the highlights of the visit. There …
I would never have believed there was such a thing as a blue lobster, until I saw it with my owneyes. Impressive array of jellyfish also, amongst all the usual things one finds in aquaria.
Very interesting see and learn life in the water. Well worth a visit.
It is a generally loud environment when filled to the maximum. It's a nice family outing. It could be improved by being extended with more exhibit.
I liked this aquarium, beautiful fish, and tons of more animals.Though it would be five star if the place was less crowded. But really nice place to visit with your family if you want to go to a aquarium.
Great staff. Facilities under various renovations. Still had more to offer than many fully open facilities. Definately returning again.
Incredible Displays, Friendly Staff.. Inexpensive...I was there in the winter and was impressed, can't wait to visit in the summer for even more displays...
An amazing place to spend half a day watching gorgeous aquatic animals. I loved the polar bears, seals, walruses, arctic foxes, jellyfish fish, etc. I think I loved them all ???? There’s two buildings with sea creatures along with outside pools where you can see other animals which live in or by the water. Wonderful adventure.
Had the best experience, saw some rare and cute fish! Had an amazing time and would recommend for date idea ;) it really got my wife happy and she had a blast! Earned some brownie points
Highly recommend) very nice place. We will be back for sure.
The seal show was the showstopper. Amazing jellyfishes.
Was a little disappointed; it's pretty small but well-maintained. Food and drinks are at a premium, as is the theme for most tourist sites, but not overly so. Overall a good trip, but not particularly one I'll remember.
Didn't have the best experience ever as the place isn't meant to accommodate lots of visitors at the same time. They let you in in batches of 40-50 people and we all end up clogging the things to see inside..It's definitely a family oriented attraction but the price you pay isn't worth the experience: dirty glasses, sad personnel, small spots where the fish can swim, no shows...I don't know, it wasn't thrilling and it lacked the 'wow' effect...I'm not an expert in aquariums but I'm sure they can do better than that..there are also two polar bears in the outdoor cage which I don't really know how they fit with the theme of an acquarium..in a nutshell: 25$ down the drain. Won't go back.
Really nice place to spend a few hours.
Everything they said were going to be there was there. Went during winter festival and got to see all the winter animals. Was a great experience for kids of all ages and even adults.
Not much to see,few things to do for kids.only junk food on site.
Friendly staff. clean safe paths. Great handouts and signage. Great views of the animals that seemed content. Worth it for the walrus. Even better with the Arctic foxes. Went with a 3 year old and a 10 month old in January. Room for strollers and space for the tot to run around. Would highly recommend.
Staff is very nice and eager to teach you about every creature. The activities are interesting and often interactive. Petting the rays was my highlight!
This is not just a old and dirty small aquarium it is also a zoo with its feature attraction a polar bear and sea lion both obviously suffering from mental illness. It is sad to see these zoo still exist. Not a fan.
Even though we got there late it was fun for my daughter which we got to see some of the animals but that also give us an opportunity to go back and enjoy it more especially with the views at the look out points.????
Travelled for 3h for nothing special..claimed to be the biggest aquarium in Québec..not impressed sadly..
Went their by chance.. a good time to spend out with family.. especially the gelly aquarium is awesome.. really want to see the lighted gelly fishes ones more..????
We loved this place, you can go underneath the aquarium as well as touch the starfishes by you hands...
Simply amazing place! Check the schedule for the presentations times. You don't want to miss that. Allow at least 3 hours to see everything.
DURING COVID19 - STAY AWAY even if we must do reservation, the site is full of people, waiting lines of 45mn to more than an hour to enter building, etc. AVOID! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY FOR ME AND MY FAMILY (YOUNG CHILDRENS)
A bit disappointing since there wasn’t that much to see. The jellyfish section was the best thing, because it was really beautiful. There is no information about the fish anywhere most of the time (a few exceptions here and there) and the app they make you download is not that great either and doesn’t add much. On top of it all, it was so jam packed with kids that you barely have space to move around. It doesn’t hold a candle to most decent aquariums. Even the aquariums in hotels in Vegas have more to explore.
The measures to protect visitors at the Aquarium du Quebec during the pandemic don’t go far enough and make the visit very unpleasant and uncomfortable for anyone trying to respect the social distancing guidelines. They are letting too many people book the same time slot and enter at the same time, creating long lineups outside in the hot sun at each pavilion. Once inside, even more lines with many families not keeping their distance from each other. Their verbal instructions are only in French which is fine for Francophone or bilingual families but some families were not following the rules claiming ignorance. I don’t recommend going this year, especially with the current uptick in cases.
The aquarium included mammals as well, which was something unique about this place in my opinion. The jellyfish were my favorite! Very fun activity to do in Quebec!
They have owls too. Would be great if they had an entire reptile section. Kids had a blast.
I liked the outdoor part more than the indoor aquarium. don't miss the feeding shows happening. Indoor aquarium is a small compared to other aquariums. The kids can interact with some animals. I like it in general.
A wonderful experience, friendly staff. It was awesome!!! I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone
Wonderful place to entertain the kids on your Québec trip. My personal favorites: the foxes and the underwater tunnel. Don't miss the coffee shop at the entrance of the acuatic part.
A must-see in Québec. Kids will love it
Amazing place for a family activity day.
Nice aquarium. I've seen much better, but the exhibits here are the best they can be. Beautiful outdoor areas with nice views and well maintained landscaping. Well done exhibits for local fish. The Polar Bear display is getting expanded, so they aren't there at the moment. The kids enjoyed the Ray touching tank and the jelly fish exhibit.
If you enjoy the obvious suffering of creatures in poorly conceived and maintained enclosures then this place is for you. Free parking. Everything else is a disgrace.
I went to the aquarium twice in 2 months. It was a magical experience the first time; the second time was, understandably, less impressive. On my first visit, I was lucky enough to arrive when the walrus show was scheduled to begin. However, on my second visit, I would have had to wait for a while in order to see the next show. I'm not sure if the times for the various shows are posted online, but it would have been helpful. My favourite parts are the jellyfish collection and the overhead aquarium.
My wife and I took our six year old daughter for her birthday while we were on vacation in QC. It was okay, with friendly staff who seemed to know what they were talking about and some of the exhibits were better than others. Rather on the small side, and not much of a crowd on the day we went, which was fine by us. Saw the whole thing in about two hours, including a performing seal show.
Their management of the distanciation rules are a jokes. They let in too many peoples and get to wait 45min to enter their building. Could really be better handled
Awesome place. Will have more practical idea about cold blooded animals, single cell organisms, fishes and variety of water lives. Helpful for kids to learn.
The aquarium itself was nice, but somewhat small. The animals seemed content enough, though the seal and walrus exhibits looked a bit cramped and shallow, a bit like recreational pools, and some of the larger freshwater fish seemed to be rather crowded. The staff seemed nice enough, very knowledgeable and bilingual for the most part, which is great, with the exception of the food service staff we met (seemingly part-timers) who ignored us while we were trying to order and gave us a rather cold sandwich we asked for it to be toasted. A fun experience overall, but at the low end of aquariums I've visited before.
The seal show was the showstopper. Amazing jellyfishes.
I love vision zoos and aquaria with the family - almost as good as going i to the wild itself. So some experiences on my side… admittedly the aquarium in Quebec City is worth the fee, which is reasonable. …
Decent with lots of animals to watch. Kids love it. Not as big as Ripley's in Toronto but still fun none the less.
So much fun with little kids. More than just fishes ???? … ????????????????????????????. Free parking is always awesome. Plenty of bathrooms and a playground and splash pad ???? for kids. Can occupy a good half day of your time if your not racing through. They have space to eat your picnic close by. ???? and snacks available ????.
nice place to visit. we had good time
Fantastic place! It's a shame the polar bears weren't there when I went, but it was still amazing. The artic foxes, the walrus and giant octopus take your breath away.
It's a pretty cool aquarium. I like that it's not just indoors but, you get to see the bigger animals like polar bears and seals outside. It was very crowded when I went so, going through the main tunnel of fish was a little annoying. Other than that, it was pretty cool!
Great little aquarium - perfect for some family fun. Staff are very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Well laid out with both indoor & outdoor exhibits. Lots of interactive experiences as well. The summer sand sculptures were a nice addition too. Excellent value for the cost.
Awesome place for a afternoon with the family or animal lovers.
The place is great and the staffs are very friendly. One of my favourite spot is the jellyfish and seahorse. All of the animal are taken good care. Ticket is easy to book through website but, it is expensive comparing to the size of the aquarium. The variety of animals is small. If you have chance to go to Toronto, i recommend the aquarium at Toronto rather than this.
Friendly attentive staff make this little gem even better. Plan 3 to 4 hours to see everything including the shows, which include seals, walruses and polar bears. Great jellyfish exhibition too. The grounds are very well kept and we're the icing on the cake.
We went one afternoon. Great layout. Easy to access. Fun. Kids liked. We Ubered out and cabbed back. Great for kids.
This place is a must visit when in Quebec. I have my own guide (my nephew Rafael loves the aquarium). From Polar bears to feeding the rays. Awesome learning place.
Great place for kids, surprisingly big aquarium. It's been recently renovated and very enjoyable place to spend a day. No good food options and pretty busy during summer time. If weather is nice - it can serve as park, kids of all ages going to like it and I would go more than once, well done.
Great variety of fish. Wonderful educational animal feedings. Loved the birds of prey. Outside needs a bit of upkeep but we’re then in winter.
Smaller then expected. Easy to walk around. The mammals were pacing around their cages made me think that keeping them in an enclosure was a inhumane situation.
The aquarium is well designed and informative about its exhibits. Great place for families and individuals with reasonably priced tickets & passes, a cafe, washrooms, and wi-fi. There is also a space where you can touch the manta rays!
This is a relatively basic aquarium but there are a few pretty interesting exhibits - I enjoyed the jellyfish and seahorse exhibits and info. Unfortunately the animal enclosures for the larger animals - polar bears and walruses - were on the small side.
Very happy we had a chance to stop by, nice aquarium. Easy to get to with a mix of indoor and outdoor sections.
Really had fun!!! There's alot of different species there to see !! If passing through must make it a stop to visit this wonderful park ! !!
Ok
Great place for a quick tour and the price is about right for what we can experience and see.
Being able to touch the rays was great experience. Overall great place to observe and learn about various sea animals.
Loved the jellyfish exhibits and how they have all sorts of interactive activities. The grounds themselves look great. My only complaint were some of the habitats for the animals seemed too small to me.
Good place for a family outing, well structured for kids of all ages, convenient for picnics. A few land lubbers as well as marine animals. The jellyfish exhibit is really nifty.
Good for family visits
I really liked seeing the fish and other animals. The place is very well kept and had many different spots to visit. There were also presentations of the animal they had in the aquarium like seals, polar bears. It was nice to see them playing around and following orders i only didn't like the fact that they weren't in their natural habitat. The polar bears seemed very tired and sad.
Nice aquarium and marine park. There are a ton of things to do. We went on a rainy day and even though there are outdoor areas, we spent the bulk of our time indoors and undercover. Parking is free. There are family passes (2adult, 2kids) that do save money. ALSO -- if you have been to other area museums or attractions, if you have your receipt you may qualify for a discount.
Place is good, but don't really think it's worth the pay.
It’s must to visit once though most of glasses are old and not well maintain they need to upgrade New side is far better with tunnel very small though If you happen to reach at time of any tourist bus no Place there We love Jelly Fish it’s amazing experience Bear and seal is treat to watch Parking is free so no worries Kids love it
Small with a limited collection of marine animals and fish, at least by international standards, it's nonetheless very enjoyable to visit and shouldn't be skipped if you are already in the Quebec City area.
A bit pricy for the amount of animals. But the place is really nice, the animals look well taken care of. Overall good experience.
It is interesting but short because of the restrictions. Well organized and they take care of security keeping everyone safe.
What an experience! The fish are so beautiful! I didn't have enough time to see all that I would have liked to see, however I am going back once the polar bears are back. The little manta rays were my absolute favourite popping out of the water smiling so you can pet them... so adorable. You can also pet starfish and anemones there. The starfish were hard on the top and soft underneath. I was not expecting that. Try touching the anemones they will give you a little surprise too ????. The underwater tunnel was shorter than I expected but still a wonderful site. The little guys that poke out of the sand were really cute too. Even the food was delicious. I thought I would step out of my comfort zone food wise and was pleasantly surprised. I would highly recommend a visit. Oh...I almost forgot!...We found Dory!!!! ????
The kids loved it and so did we. Lots of different things to do and see and touch.
Good venue for small kids. Sea horses and petting the rays were our highlights. As others have noted, you will spend a good deal of time outside, so be ready for that if you go in the winter. Signage could be better on the grounds.
Very nice place. We had a lovely experience. The staff is friendly.
Very nice aquarium, well designed and build on large area. Amazing for your kids to play while learning the sea animals. Highly recommended
I have been in many aquariums around the world and this one was really good but I expected more polar animals such as polar bear and others but there was not many . The garden outside was amazing with a lot of sand sculptures and colorful flowers, and nice pools for the seals. Some of the animals inside need more space and better way of displaying. Something was amazing and I really like is the teaching and the scientific purpose of every thing inside, a lot of helpful information and fun facts all around which they deserve appreciation for.
Nice place lots to see... thats the problem.. don't get a ticket for 15h30 because you will run out of time to see outside and both inside buildings like we did. Other than than very nice place well maintained and cleaned frequently same thing for bathrooms. Defenetly recommend will take you atleast 2 hours to take a look without including shows outside where they fees the animals. Cheers!
So much fun!
We were there in the fall, great place for families, very nice staff, even though we don't speak French, try to help us with our questions
Took our two year old son. We all had a great time. He loved the show with the seals.
Affordable price for a family of 4 and you can barrow strollers and wagons for no charge. Lots of species of fish. It has different buildings so ideal for all weather's.
Beautiful experience.
This is a nice aquarium. It has indoor and outdoor things to see and do. Alot of walking so a stroller or wagon for small children is a good idea. We enjoyed our visit very much and would come back. It can get crowded on the weekends, but it's well organised and the flow of people moves well through the inside exhibits.
Awesome place to bring kidss
Lots of things to do! Kids loved being able to touch a sting ray, starfish, and coral. Tanks were in decent condition. Didnt feel there was as many animals as advertised. The underwater tunnel is very short. Overall good experience
We were cold and couldn't think of anything else to do so decided to go it's pretty cool nothing extraordinary but the kids will enjoy it. I did get to see a polar bear which was awesome. Follow me on Instagram for more travel tips faraliciousb
Beautiful place to go with children, the visit is very interactive.
Sea animals natural sight. Amazing specially for kids. You might miss couple of shows if you visit in winter. But it was still ok.
Great experience! I liked the most Mors, seals and polar bears. We saw tricks done by seals and Mors. Kids enjoyed it a lot.
Jellyfish exhibit was amazing. Being able to see walruses and arctic foxes up close was great but walruses seemed confined. Very crowded on a Sunday.
I had a blast, and it went way beyond my expectations! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff members throughout it!
Fun place to visit. Lots of fish, jellyfish and other aquatic life to see. Also has an outdoor play area for kids.
Desastrous visit. Waited more than 2hrs in line outside in the pouring rain just to get the main building. Customers do not respect the 2m directive and many do not wear masks appropriately. We only say one security guard inforcing state directives. It's a shame for a publicly founded installation. Normally I would have asked for a refound but we were too eager to leave. The Quebec aquarium is overpriced and mismanaged in these Covid times. They must reduce the amount of tickets they sell per day. Avoid and your day will be much better.
We showed up a at 2:45 which gave us enough time to pay for tickets and enjoy an hour of the aquarium. They closed at 4:00 but their website stated in their access and operating process that they didn't allow entries after 3:00. NOTHING mentioned we had to pre register. If they would have asked us to leave 10 minutes prior to 4:00, no problem. They turned us away and two children who were looking forward to the aquarium. We were driving from NB and wanted to break up our 15 hour drive home and explore the area. They wouldn't even work with us and told me I was wrong even though I showed them their website was was clearly wrong. If I could give them no stars I would.
Very nice with many aquatic spieces. A perfect place to spend some time with your kids. There is also some playgrounds outside for kids.
Fun place to go with your family and kids We were unfortunate that t was down pouring We didn’t get to enjoy the seals, walruses and polar bears as much The deep sea exposition is nice The tanks for the fish were sometimes really dirty and the water was so murky you could see the fish inside They take CAA, so if you have it, it will give you a 10% discount
It's not that big, but still has enough to spend a day there
Very nice place to visit at Quebec City with family
Honestly disappointed. I absolutely understand COVID measures but it seems like everything was rushed and staff is unprepared. Additionally, the impossibility to use a stroller, without any prior mention, makes the experience painful and social distancing even more challenging. Furthermore, rather than having someone receive and store strollers for parents, we are left to simply dump our stroller in a general area with a massive sign mentioning that they're not responsible for theft... Could easily be improved by having someone store them for parents instead... Disappointing. Wouldn't recommend until they get their act together...
Would not let us in. Needed a reservation. Did not see any indication on their web site. Very disappointing
We drove from Niagara Falls to visit this aquarium, and the experience was less than satisfactory. First we had to argue that my son was under the age of two as they did not believe us. I had a grandparent email a copy of a birth certificate as proof which took 20 minutes. When we got inside we found most of the vendors where closed. The polar bear exhibit along with the other outside exhibits had not been clean. The. Glass partitions where not cleaned and we had a hard time seeing anything. The arctic fox exhibit looked full of dead animals as it was mid may and the temperature outside was 20 degrees Celsius so the animals where hiding and not active. On top of it all the staff seemed a bit rude to people who did not speak French, I found this to be common as other English speaking guests where treated the same. I do not recommend this venue.
Small aquarium. Some exhibits were empty. Not as clean as other aquariums I've visited. Nice day with the kids.
There wasn't much things to see and there was no shade we're u can sit and still be able to see the show also the aquarium is way too small
Everything one could ask for in an Aquarium. Well laid out, and a lot to see. The kids were happy with all there was to offer.
We went for the Festilumieres, the aquarium website showed something very different than what we encountered. The only way I can explain it is, when you drive around at Christmas time looking at houses decorated. Except that's for free and you're warm in your car. If you have young children, they will more than likely be more suited for this, but bring a sled to pull them around.
Very nice
Loved the variety of animals on display and thought there was a good amount of information posted to learn! Very educational and a fun way to spend a couple hours.
The touch areas are really awesome. Lots of English information for out of town travellers
Great aquarium. nice fish and animals
General aquarium. A little bit on the small side compared to other aquariums I've visited, but each building is separate and made to be like a public park, which was nice to walk around. The admission prices were also quite fair and inexpensive. Good place to take kids for a couple hours.
Great place to visit with the kids but adults can enjoy it a well. The aquarium is split in three pavilions and the outside training areas. Also the staff is bilingual. The jellyfish display was beautiful. There's a 3 story fish tank, which was really cool. They have a seal show, and a walrus show. They also have 2 polar bears, super cool. The also have a ray petting pool. My daughter really enjoyed herself and i got to see polar bears up close.
Old and run down. Kids were sad to see the animals kept in what appears to be dirty conditions. The Jelly fish display was neat and brought it up a star
We visited during the Ontario March break and spent almost 5 hours enjoying all the exhibits. We spent over 1 hour with the stingrays and were amazed over and over again by all the amazing sights to see. Because it was Ontario March break there were no crowds or lines.
This is a very nice aquarium with mammals present as well (Seals, walrus, the polar bears were on leave at time of visit because their habitat is being expanded but they will be back). Pricing is pretty much par for this kind of place.
Usually enjoy going there. But under the new covid guidelines it is really not that enjoyable with two toddlers. The circuit you have to follow with the arrows on the ground (that you will be warned to respect) do not make sense. I guess the waiting lines will be our new reality from now on and I can live with that. Will be waiting for our normal lives to resume before going back there with the kids.
Very nice experience we've had. That day it was about 10 celcius but no matter what they were outside feeding the walruses and explaining the visitor lots of different things about walruses. Very interesting and a nice variety of fish and other sea animals.
Very cool place! Well cared for, lots to see. Show your caa card to save some cash. Very clean for animals, but polar bear den needs an update. I don't think he like 30 deg C?
Size is perfect for a few hours of fun. Sea horses and jelly fish were main attractions for our kids. The jungle trail was a big hit with small kids, better than their park.
Fun! Mix of exterior and interior exhibits. Fun on a nice day. The seals are amazing to watch. Try and find the zookeepers and follow them as they feed the animals. Entertainment for 3-4 hours.
After 30 years I returned tot he Aquarium. I was lucky, not too many people and a very nice day. A good place to bring kids 5 and up. Bring your lunch, food is expensive, I bought chip and drink, 8.50$ I went with the city bus, it would be nice if the Aquarium had a shuttle (golf cart) between the bus stop and aquarium. It's not far but with kids etc, I wouldn't want to do it.
I really liked visiting the Aquarium! Free parking and fairly quick ticket sale/ entrance (vs Toronto one). I found that going through inside exbihition was a bit uncomfortable- it was pretty tight on space, so I felt very rushed and missed some tanks because it was impossible to get to them (maybe it was a busy day, but I still found it a bit stressful and it definitely took away from my enjoyment). Maybe because it was crowded it got pretty hot in some places (or AC wasn't working). Overall good exhibitions, lots of space to walk through and lovely play parks! Probably my favorite for their seahorse exhibition.
You can be a keeper for a day. The most amazing experience, Daila does this cute dance. But all the mammals have their personalities. Do this once in a lifetime experience.
Great place to visit, the kids were amazed, and we too, you can bring your lunch or eat there, it was fun and educational, I highly recommend it.
Meah, looks more like an open air zoo or picknik place than an aquarium. I guess we expected something similar to the one in Toronto, this one doesn't come anywhere close.
Pretty disappointed with this aquarium. 1) they only let you in at the time of your tickets, which in theory makes sense, however, it created a huge line up and then once you were inside, it was crowded and no one kept 2 meter distance. They didn’t think it through to stager people. 2) it didn’t seem very clean, we saw multiple dead fish. 3) I’ve swam in pools bigger than what they keep the walruses in. It was so sad to see, they had no room to swim. 4) there was a polar bear which I have numerous issues with but seriously, why is a polar bear at an AQUARIUM? He was in such distress. I would give this place a 0 if I could, I left feeling sad for the way they treated these animals.
Lovely aquarium. The jellyfish room was amazing. It was cold so we didn't do much of the outdoor activities. We loved the Arctic Fox!!!
Although jellyfish house was very good the tunnel was bit short and disappointing but mostly my issues us with keeping polar bears in pens. It's an okay size but wouldn't say a good size. Just be cold in winter for them but been high 30s this summer. It's an alright aquarium but been to better
Honestly I felt it a tad over priced but the exhibits were great, the polar bears and aquatic mammals were fantastic to watch and the fish was amazing.
Good to see a wide range of animals like seal, fox, owl, various kinds of fishes etc. Hard to find parking in busy hours.
Fun place. Kids had a lot of fun!
Travelled for 3h for nothing special..claimed to be the biggest aquarium in Québec..not impressed sadly..
The Aquarium is very nice. It's very kid-friendly, but not boring for adults! The Tunnel, under the "Ocean" is just long enough, to be amazed, but not get claustrophobic. There are 2 areas, where one can touch, fish, seastars, crabs and small sharks. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I think it was well worth it!
Something for everyone, great space for kids to visit and play. Aside from the shows and aquarium, there is a playground and splash pad. Lots of running space and we'll thought for toddlers. Bring your own lunch, food there is pricey and lack of choice.
Wonderful aquarium with a great variety of wildlife, big and small. Not too big, so the whole family can cover it in an afternoon no problem. Good, if simple, meal options present, both indoor and out. One opportunity for improvement is to post a "Quiet, please" sign by the jellyfish.
This place is amazing. A must visit. Thank you for a lovely day!
Loved it and so did the kids !
The staff are super knowledgeable in both English and in French. The layout of the exhibits should be a little more correlated with one another. The maps were placed with same signs. Would suggest using directional signs with the colour of each exhibit. But overall had an amazing time. Very informative.
nice medium sized aquarium entrance fee is fare they have a nice picnic/play area for children
Amazing. A must!
My boyfriend went and visited Quebec for my birthday the aquarium was amazing we had alot of fun and even thought it was cold it was nice to see the animals outside also
Awesome place!!! Much bigger than what I expected, lots of different activities for the family. You can spend 4 to 5 hours here without even noticing it. Interactive displays make for even more fun. Bonus: cheap activity for the family
Affordable family fun. Just big enough to fill your day. There is also a splash pad and picnic area. Gift shop has reasonable prices.
Try to book your visit as early as possible. We came at 9 and already line up for admission. Park is not big but enough for a family to spend a day. Staff did great job to control the traffic. (They count people in and out) Mask up and enjoy:)
Great outdoor exhibits! Especially the walrus, seals, and arctic fox! Signs are in both French and English, and their seahorse and jellyfish exhibits are not to be missed!
Very nice place. We had a lovely experience. The staff is friendly.
Fist time in Quebec city with my family and we enjoyed visiting this aquatic facility. The scenery over looking the bridge while having lunch is so relaxing.
Like the polar bear
The jellyfish exhibit was huge & beautiful, never knew there were so many different kinds! The staff are super friendly and eager to explain everything.
It was worth the price of admission. Note that you also did not have to pay for parking like some other events. The aquarium group ds were clean and the bonus was to see the sand carvings. There was of course the fish and there was a open pond where you could tou h the Ray's. Not the 12 foot kind. That was cool.
Not much to see, compared to other aquariums I've been to in the U.S.
We had an amazing experience at this aquarium! My daughter loved the animals especially the polar bears, walrus', and getting to touch the sting rays. The whole family had fun!! We be going back if we decide to visit Quebec City again!!
Very nice, a visit in winter. Visited both inside pavillions and the outside animals, plus had lunch, took about 5h30... Nice displays. But make certain that you check ahead to see what will be openned, the polar bear enclosure will be closed soon for a while. Food is allright and not tooooooo expensive. The night visit, with the "half a million lights" was nice but nothing extraordinary. The outdoors animals are still out and might move around but there aren't any presentations. The light set up is nice, a little romantic more than spectacular (romantic if you don't mind hundreds of 6 year okds running around). Worth the price if you take a family ticket with the aquarium during the day... Maybe stand alone at night. Keep i. Mind about 40% of the animals are outside, so you need to dress accordingly.
Went in the winter. Yes, the aquarium is a bit on the small side, but everyone there is wonderfull and the fish are put beautifully on display. Every habitat was expertly put together and all the animals were healty and active. Special mention to the deep sea habitat and there incredible collection of jellyfish, and all those amazing Sturgeon... definitly coming back!!
Such sn amazing place!
Although not as big as expected, it is a nice aquarium should take about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to go through all the exhibits.
Fun place to visit with a wide variety of things to see. The kids really enjoyed the tunnel! Things to improve: 1. The information panels don't always include the native range of certain species. 2. The coffee is AWFUL! My son wanted to be sure that I mentioned the awesome octopuses! My other son loves the arctic foxes and my wife loves the nautilus(es?).
Great aquarium! We went late October and if we had a amazing time! However, please be aware that there's no outdoors show at this time of year.
Was able to see all the aquarium and had a good time. Lots of great displays and information. Entrainment for a wide array of ages.
Respect for the species, very educational, clean and interesting.
Informative signs about everything. Really enjoyed the two see-and-touch pools, where employees were there to answer questions. Definitely worth the price. I would definitely recommend going.
Had a fun time here. About 40% is outside so dress warm
This was a five star experience. Great shows throughout the day. Lots of different displays and interactive areas. The jellyfish display was particularly awesome. We had no kids and spent 4 hours here. With kids this could easily be an entire day.
This place is great! I especially love the jellyfish room. It was very well set up. There was a place where you could pet the rays and another way you could touch the starfish. Along with outdoor programs.
The outdoor animal exhibits were amazing. Seals. Walrus, and polar bears. Be sure to attend the polar bear show. It was great. Inside was abit tired and the walk through tunnel was so short, I'm not sure tunnel accurately describes it. However the touch area was super ending with very active stingrays touch pool.
Intersting place. Make sure you go when staff feeding animals and telling stories about them. You can touch stingrays there, they like to be touched.
This Aquarium came with a high rating, but in my opinion this place is very, very overpriced. Most of the indoor exhibits of the marine life are what you would find in other aquariums. The only things which were good were the outdoor ones, which included a polar bear, arctic fox, walruses, few seals and one owl. And we never saw any sharks or whales or dolphins which was disappointing. For the amount of marine life displays and exhibits, this place is too expensive.
Quite good aquarium, with interesting location next to the bridge (good view and view point, nice place to take a photo). Good collection of jellyfishes, but aquarium is quite little I wouldn't say there are too much to see. And I was a bit disappointed how they keep polar bears..
Really nice! A heads up that several very cool exhibits are outside, so be sure to dress appropriately
We liked it- especially Boris the Walrus the Jellyfish and all the fish in the large aquarium, as well. They are making a wonderful new Polar Bear habitat- twice the size as it was; however, I think Boris and his mate need a larger tank, too.
Lovely staff and the animals are adorable, I come for down under and it was a really nice change of pace. The tickets are well priced costing me and my friend (15 years old) about $11 each
It was raining in Quebec City so we decided to do something indoors and went to the aquarium. It was a big mistake as it turns out the aquarium has different buildings that scattered around and you need to walk outdoors from one building to another ! Despite the heavy rainfall we managed to visit a couple of exhibitions and were generally impressed. Although the variaty is not great, what they have they managed very well. Its a good place to spend a few hours, but try to do that on a sunny day.
The kids decided they wanted to visit the Quebec Aquarium, which was absolutely delightful. It’s easy to spend hours here wandering through all the exhibits, and we didn’t even arrive in time to watch the shows. Still, there was plenty to do including multiple touch tanks and an outdoor playground.
A smaller aquarium but interesting. Some of the main exhibits were closed when we went so that was disappointing. The staff at the petting stations were super friendly and knowledgeable.
It is a great place for family and friends
Small aquarium with just a few animal attractions. Large tank with both fresh and salt water fishes show casing the fish from around the area. What I can add is that if you are looking to see the seals, walrus, and polar bear shows, plan to spend half a day there and come when it opens. Only one show a day. Also the shows seam to demonstrate the animals behaviour in the wild.
Awesome place for any age. Outdoor and indoor areas to visit
This place has a lot of variety to offer from aquatic to even polar bears.2 lovely big polar bears. A lot of different fish, sea horses, dolphins and the huge walrus. It's well spaced out and there are different areas you can visit. They have icecream and light snacks on-site. Parking at this location is free and is tucked away in one corner of the city. We paid 75 dollars for a family of 4 which is reasonable I thought.
Overall good experience. The jellyfish exhibition was amazing and there is an area where you can touch the stingrays which is definitely the highlight of the aquarium. Easy access via bus25 from old Quebec. The polar bear enclosure is currently under construction and not available for public viewing. However, it is a pretty small aquarium and does not show case alot of animals.
Great spot to enjoy with the family, especially if you have little kids.
The polar bears aren't there. Other than that it was smaller than expected only took 1h15 to see it all.
Wow! This place is soo cool. There is an outdoor trails with seals and walrus etc..and 2 indoor pavilions housing fish, rays, jellyfish etc.. There us even a glass tunnel through an aquarium. Amazing! Kids loved it. They got to touch the Rays. There is food onsite so you won't go hungry. Totally recommended!
Nice place to see difference kind of fish
My kids had a wonderful time here. It was walking distance from our hotel and the prices were reasonable. The outdoor playcentre is a highlight, especially the ropes course that extends through an area with lots of shade. The views and the playground were worth the price of admission but we also enjoyed the aquariums and touching sting rays and the outdoor exhibits.
Fun attraction, a little spread out, but the loaner wagons for kids was great! The splash pad is a great thing to cool down on hot days, wish we would have had more time to see and do more.
Very helpful staff. Great for a kids day out. About 40% was outdoors.
Even though we booked our time online and paid in advance, there were very long lines to see the attractions. There was a lack of parking spaces and there was no bear exhibit. We had to wait in the hot sun in line to see the exhibits. My kids got hot and restless after waiting 40 mins to see the main event, which was the indoor aquarium.
The light show in the evening over Christmas was good fun, as was the outside wildlife ! We fell in love with the pola bear playing with his snow shovel. The inside aquarium we found below average, but all in all wouldn't have missed it. Better experience than Toronto ( Ripley aquarium) as its not so crowded, has a nice indoor eating /picnic area, nice washrooms, and outdoor walking /exhibits. The ray touching and jellyfish tanks were favs with the 3 and 7 year olds. Sunday morning was a good time to visit.
Couldn't have the whole experience since we visited there during Covid-19 (August 2020)
Not worth $20/person. We arrived at the aquarium at 9:30, thinking they were open at 9 since it says so online. Turns out the aquarium opens only at 10. We went through every single exhibit in 30 minutes, and showed up at the seal exhibit for the 10:30 show. We stayed there for about 15 minutes as nothing was happening. We were then told that the show was close to the kids plauground area, which was not the case. We then go back to the seal exhibit to find that the show had just started at around 10:55.. it ended 5 minutes later... The only positive is the free parking and the aquariums...
Never disappointed when we go. The interactive ray pen is great as well. Lots to see.
The fish are so peaceful and calming to look at. Very nice walk, indoors and out.
You have to walk outside so if weather isn't great you should dress accordingly, also the layout left us missing out on a lot. It was much smaller than we expected, especially for the price.
What the amazing place
Great experience. Friendly staff. Outdoor and indoor exhibit. My kids age 12-17 really enjoyed it. Staff were able to speak English to help us with our questions
My child and wife enjoyed it, small but nice aquarium where you can even have a pint of beer :)
It was incredibly disappointing. The polar bear habitat has been under renovation for months and is no where near complete The walrus habitat is way too small. I came the afternoon after Labor day and all the restaurants were closed and they were clearly in maintenance mode. I don't know why they were even open.
Relaxed family outing with a learning curve
Too expensive and too sad. It was depressing to be there as an adult because as an adult I can see the mistreatment. So many fish that looked like they were dying. Hardly any room for the seals, the walrus, and the polar bear. I do not recommend this place.
Excellent place !! Kids had fun looking at the beautiful and colorful jelly fish. Great place for family. A must visit in Quebec!
Great place to bring the family if you're visiting Quebec! Several outdoor exhibits to see seals, walruses, polar bears, and arctic foxes. They also have a fabulous jellyfish exhibit and a touch pool for the rays
Truest a unique experience. Wish we would have had more time. Plan for at least 5-6 full hours to really take your time. See the exhibits and shows and have a great family experience.
Excellent for families. Good variety of fish and animals to see. Great outdoor playground for kids, with nice views of the bridges and St Lawrence.
A bit crowded but kids did enjoy it.
The best third world country aquarium........ However it is located in Quebec City. The first thing I noticed was cobwebs at the entrance of the primary exhibit. Three steps later I notice a cafeteria salad, with dressing, in a habitat intended for a turtle. Two habitats later a fish is stuck in a tube. Within 10 minutes of being there I blurted out, "This place is horrible", and it only got worse. The tanks are very dirty and the cleaning pumps are covered in algae. Was not sure if one of the polar bears was even alive, if it was, I am certain that it wishes it was dead instead of there. Many more negatives and no redeeming qualities. My girlfriend left in tears.
Lots of fish species. Tunnel is pretty cool. Lots of mammals as well. Polar bears are amazing. Food restaurants and picnic areas. Water games for the kids. Free parking.
Had an amazing time with my family❤️
Great times with a family crowd as there is lots to be learned. Those that appreciate sea life will love their extensive displays of jellyfish species and an amazing treat was they have nautilus and leafy sea dragons. Loved petting the rays and was pleasantly surprised they’re extremely friendly! The underwater tunnel was smaller than I expected, though.
We came in July and found it to be a very, very busy place. Many people with kids and strollers. It was hard to get around on the inside and was quite small. The outdoor exhibits are good and it's a great place to take kids! We got through the whole thing in roughly 2 hours.
I went here for the day on a whim with a friend and it did not disappoint. We had so much fun and spent so much time looking at all the jellyfish!! I took so many nice pictures. We loved our day!!
You have to stop here. Everyone will enjoy their visit. Come with everyone and visit often. A hidden gem. The walrus was an amazing experience.
Worth visiting only once. A bit expensive. The only unique species we found that we could not find in any other Zoo/aquarium were Polar Bear, Sea Dragon, Arctic fox and Walrus. May be worth visiting only for Polar Bear.
Very nice place! YOU CAN TOUCH THINGS! full of surprises 10/10 will go back. Be sure to go when it's nice outside, though.
Nice little family outing for the morning, good for 2-3 hours (depending on your food requirements). More of a zoo and less of an aquarium than I had anticipated, but very cool little outdoor adventures scattered throughout for the kids. Made for a good morning of hiking around! Wouldn't plan to make a full day of it, but worthwhile if you have the time.
Must see if you go to Quebec city Beautiful
