REVIEWS OF Toronto Zoo IN Argentia

Time well spent. Lots of walking so wear some comfortable shoes. Better off bringing food from home. Prices are pretty high for some basic stuff...and I bet that you already have the food they're serving, at home. A simple popsicle was $5. Outrageous! They sell for $0.50 at the corner store. The animals are very relaxed, & slow paced. Some animals were at the far end of their grounds that you couldn't see them too well (bison, ostrich) most of the animals were still...sometimes hard to spot. Def something to do a couple times a year.

Yuleidy Gonzalez

Great place to go for stroll with the kids. Be aware lots of walking.

Dikachi Ebe

So big! Totally enjoyed my experience

Ron McCaillancourt

Not alot going on but tigers, penguins, and lions were active. Good spacing lines for viewing and space protocols

Lesley Riedstra

The Toronto Zoo is a great place for families, you get in a good hike as well. The animals are well kept and with the weather being so good they were out to say hi to us the whole afternoon. Even with the pandemic restrictions there was lots to see. If you think you might go more than once a year, definitely consider the annual or 2 year passes!

Mariana J

The zoo is quite large. Plan a whole day and take your time. We were not even able to visit all areas in a whole day. Loved the feeding of the polar bear and the fish tank areas. There are nice picking spots so you can bring your own food or enjoy some of the restaurants. The view from some of them is great too. Remember never feed the animals as there was a statue of a monkeys that died after visitor feed it some human food.... All the exibits were interesting for every age. Had a great time and will be back.

Kipachie

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the zoo because many animals were not there to see. ***Zoomobile’s tickets can be purchased from the entrance only for $9*** Zip lining is closed but other activities are available. You also have to pay the parking fees at admission. Canadian Domain is simply not worth going for as it’s a long walk and there are many animals that can not be seen.

laila tube

U need whole day to see all animals and the good thing there is food service inside

Emily

Always a good time at the zoo. Just a shame that the pavilions are still closed. Otherwise I actually love that there are timeslots as it makes the zoo less crowded and a much more enjoyable experience!

Shyamal Mahmood

My son loves going there - again and again

Alex Keerma

Great exhibits and well kept grounds, very reasonably priced for the amount of entertainment. Animals seem happy and while the food options were limited there were plenty of shady rest spots, sanitizing stations, misting fans, and water refill stations available for use. Overall a great way to spend a day.

Reinardo Castoire Jr

Love the Toronto zoo! So much to see! Bring your walking shoes and something to drink.

GEN Dong

I love the zoo! I've been a member 2010-14, 2020 to forever ????. It definitely pays to be a member especially if you have young kids, stroller friendly, unlimited zoo mobile ride (when operating). I would suggest mornings, many of the animals are gathered for feeding and sometimes you can watch zoo keepers amongst the animals in the exhibits (and quite amazing to see how close they can get to these animals).

A. Z. (HappyX3)

Great public place to visit outdoors. Season memberships are an amazing value if you get one now it is good for up to this time next year! Same price for families weather you have 1 or 4 children. Next time I would bring my own wipes as I didn't notice staff cleaning anything (other then bathrooms) means all the benches, outdoor eating areas. Be cautious wipe before you sit down and considerate to wipe when you leave. Lots of garbage pails.

jamie akp

It was a refreshing experience. The sheer size of the place meant we couldn't cover the whole grounds!! It has adventure, thrill, education and exercise all rolled into one! The kids talked about it lit eyes for days!! Totally recommended for everyone with any kind of need!! Bravo management!!

Murray L.

Has to be one of the best deals in Toronto.

Vineela Ummidisetty

Very well maintained zoo. Couldn't get a glimpse of few animals. Started by 9 am and stayed till 8pm ????.Except for Canadian area, we could cover rest all areas. Good number of picnic spots, benches, sanitizer stations, washrooms along the trail. Can't expect everyone to wear masks. It's long walk,so come prepared. Kids enjoyed the timed splash pad.

Brian Wallace

I was surprised at how few people there were on a sunny Labour Day Monday. The family had a good 4 hour walk around and had some special moments with a number of animals. As with most amusement venues the fees are fairly steep, nearly $100 for a family of 3 and then plenty of opportunity to spend more in the park. As others have mentioned, bring comfortable shoes as there is plenty of walking if you don't pay for the optional shuttle. Don't expect to see everything in one visit, either due to time or animals resting depending on the time of day.

Nathan Baron

Fun place to visit with the kids. You will definitely need the whole day if you are there for the first time. Go left when you get through the entrance. The pandas are cute, but the gorillas and African animals are way more pleasing for the kids.

Don Slaunwhite

The Toronto Zoo is a great zoo. It's very large so there is lots of walking, but the collection is great. During Covid Times you need to book your tickets in advance on the website for a particular time. This means you have to plan ahead, but it also means less crowds. Which works well for viewing many of the animals. The downside, or at least it was when I went, was that many of the restaurants, food vendors, etc were all closed. Understandable, but with a day of walking around you get hungry. Bring a snack.

Arnel Agustin

Nice place???? my son love it.

Winston Blenman

So much to see and do. Under priced.

Δημητριος Ιωανν. Αγαγιώργης

I have one of the best memories of my life from this place. Beautiful place with a lot to do and see, and overall a great experience.

Tariq Al

We went at 330pm, and stood in the line for about 10min. Place is clean but the zoo store is just outdated dark and not many options to buy. I hope they update the food area as it's not the best food there. We didn't see many animals it was hot and most of them in hiding. The zoo train was always full and all over the place had a sold out sign and only for members!!! Please add this info online so we know before coming in.

Tariq Al

You must to see this Zoo, if you never been before. Big area, you can spend whole day there with your family.

Kelyson Nunes

Amazing place! It is interesting how animals are organized by home regions.

Robert Carvalho

Was hot, very hot! However, I don't mind walking. They should have been more animals, I guess they were hiding from the heat lol.

Ricardo

Great trip for the whole family, wear comfortable shoes as there is lots to see. They allow you to bring your own food, so pack a cooler with drinks and food. Throughout the park there are several picnic areas with ample seating. They do also have restaurants on site but the price point is higher than it would be outside. Bring a change of clothes for the kids as there is a huge splash pad for them to enjoy, after walking around all day.

James McGarry (JM)

Ill-designed for an urban zoo, too far away from downtown and a lot of walking once you're there. And very poor signage. Much of the time you have no idea what you're looking at. But the staff is friendly and mostly knowledgable and the animals seem well-cared-for.

Niranjan Goswami

Lots of walking ,even though you take zoom bile. But shows at 11:30 was supergood

Janice Law

Highly recommended for everyone with kids! Lots of animals - and alot of walking (get your steps in)! Also recommend the zoomobile - a great way to see some animals that aren’t walkable to get to. Pavilions are finally open so it’s nice to see more species. Bring water and you can bring your own lunch and snacks. Food is a bit more expensive than outside prices.

Rosetta Zorkpo

I really admired seeing different kind of live animals for the first time. I will always make my way here when I have the time. Our visit was awesome???????????????? Many thanks to the management of the Toronto Zoo????

Anthony Cook

A really superb zoo. Wear the right footwear as this is a big one. The enclosure for the bears is basically like living in the wild, truly incredible and really pleasing to see the animals are at the heart of this zoo. Coming from England, we have some good zoo's but this is on a different level. I really wish other zoo's had the space to be able to provide the best habitats for the animals and the work put in to keep this Zoo looking clean and tidy is quite the feat. Keep up the great work!

Camiel Coppelmans

Great place to visit with kids

Gong Shao

Admission is little pricey and parking is not free.

jane Li

The place is quite spacious. There are lots to see. The zoo also has a kid's zoo area too, however, currently it is under construction. Moreover, the animals shown in the kid's section are too common, animals like turtles, groundhogs, spiders, etc. It would be nice to have more innovative ideas. In the rest of the zoo, there are many kinds of animals. The penguins are very nice and cute. The water park inside is very fun. But there are limited seats at the water area. It could be very crowded during weekends. It would be nice to have priority parking for parents with young babies and tot.

Geevarghese john

Be ready to walk a lot..and spend a whole day

Kate Smith

We had an absolute blast here and the water park was awesome

JULIETH TATIANA ORTEGA NAVAS

Excellent zoo, clean and well cared for animals. I loved it ????

Mohammad Omar

It was alright, the walk was lot as the Zoomobile was not working due to covid restrictions and most of the animal sections were empty.

Mudasser Zakaria

Nice experience....my daughter enjoyed alot!!!

Shannynk

We have been members of the Toronto Zoo for years. Their dedication and work to preserving both flora and fauna is astounding and to be admired. I've traveled around the world and always visit zoos, and the TZ is in my opinion, the best in the world.

Ian Chenner

Went during off season for $23, not as exciting as the peak season obviously. However, its a good place to walk around and see some cool animals during the winter. Signs can be more clear or create a route for everyone to follow. A good experience overall

Kateryna Konovalova

Great place, animals all around the world. Huge territory and good infrastructure

Chris Vagg

Fun place to good and lots to see for the whole family.

Mohammed Obied

Great family outing. Kid had a blast

Tony Lee

3 stars during Covid stage 3, but can be 4 stars if more things were open. Although you wouldn't have much choice in Toronto, overall a decent zoo. Depending on your luck, you may see many animals. If going many times per year, best get an annual membership both for entrance and for parking. First time membership experience isn't that great as they apparently ran out of cards and this isn't actually communicated to those at the entrance gates which made for an awkward explaining of why we don't have a membership card, but have the parking card. The zoo parking lot fills up fast. Clean. Lots of paved slopes to make it feel like a good hike between continents. Missing a lot of placards for animals in addition for being old and hard to read fonts and colours. A few pavilions were closed during my visit, which is a bummer since those buildings are where the animal density and variety is greatest and also the only places to see smaller animals, reptiles, marine life, and certain birds. Quite a few outdoor exhibits were closed or missing animals. Enclosure layout makes it hard to see certain animals. Advise to bring lots of water or water bottles and make use of the water filling stations which, thankfully, are abundant enough. Food is expensive but that is typical of any attraction. Not much variety in food. Good number of resting spots with benches. Can rent a children's stroller/cart.

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

Love this place. Kids will probably know more than me after a couple more visits lol. Better off getting a seasons pass and go all year for a little more than 1 visit...

Zoltan Wagner

Even with COVID restrictions it’s very enjoyable - just be a little flexible as not everything is open. The staff we spoke with were all helpful and most importantly the animals seemed well cared for. Remember that zoos are not pure amusement but also about conservation and wildlife advocacy and the Toronto Zoo is involved with many programs which was good to see.

Olga Haletskaia DD

Always a wonderful day at the zoo with the family or friends. The zoo volunteers are very friendly and helpful.

Jane Suchomski

My family has had a membership at the Toronto zoo since my kids were babies. Every time we go we see something new, and I always learn something new. Their focus on conservation is inspiring and all of the animals are respected and cared for. Facilities are always in excellent shape, and kept clean.

Tyger Greenleaf

Always a good time!! Wasn’t too busy, even during COVID times. The food places were fast and the bathrooms were decently clean. All the animals looked happy and content! And the new tiger Mila is absolutely adorable!

Reece Forster

Amazing place to enjoy a great day or weekend with your family, with your kids or with your friends. The place is really big, so be prepare for a long walk. The variety of animals is perfect. Variety of animals that all looks healthy and happy. You will find all kinds of exotic well taken-care species. This is the only zoo where I saw you can lend wheelchairs and trolleys to carry your belongings around or even your kids. Many things still closed because of Covid, but anyway the place is amazing! - Its a great place to spend the day with the kids - A lot of picnics areas. - A lot of thing from kids. - Is allowed bring your own food and drink. Best Day Spent in TORONTO ZOO

Antony Bellerive-Cossette

Its a good/fun place to visit Prepare yourself for a long walk if you want to see everything The only downside is that often the animals are hidden or hard to see

Alan Zhang

The panda exhibit was amazing. The keepers were friendly and knowledgeable.

Claire Murray

Lots of parking available but very busy. Fun for kids and adults.

Jason Davies

Loved the animals. Only had a 10 minute wait for the Pandas. Prices on food and concessions were lower then I expected. Left with money in my pocket. Will be back!

Rajib Mazhar Hasan

A wonderful and educational experience for the family.. Put on a pair of comfy shoes and spend the entire day with the animals. The water park is very popular with the little ones and a good way to cool off on a summer day. Don't forget to see the Polar bear exhibit. Lots to do.

Flaire Palangya

If you’re looking for an outdoor place to take your kids to run and have fun, this is the place to be. It’s good for kids of all ages (we have 3 boys, 13, 3 and 1). With CoVid, this is the best place for kids since it’s outdoors and you don’t have to worry about them playing in indoor places with other people. It’s wide enough to maintain social distancing. A map will be given in the entrance. Looking at the map, there’s a lot of attractions. An advice I would give for parents is to bring strollers for their kids since it’s a lot of walking. From one attraction to the other, it will take 5-15 minutes walk. Upon entering, there’s a merry-go-round carousel and our kids loved it. We bought the 4 rides for $10 and it’s all worth it. With CoVid, some areas were closed but it’s a very wide place so there’s still a lot to explore. Also, they don’t have the elephant anymore so we weren’t able to see that. Overall, I’d say it’s one of the best places to spend your entire day if you wanted to check all the attractions.

Sandeep Pandita

It was a good full day experience during some relaxed restriction times when COVID-19 seems to be over. It was good fun for my daughter. She got to see, giraffes, lions, tiger, gorillas, zebras and many other animals. If you drive, there is also an option for drive thru safari.

Phani Kiran Kara

Old zoo with a character. Needs upgrades at lot of places. Few animals are closed in a tight space. No name of the animal on many many exhibits keeps you wondering... Lot of stores and events are closed. Nice place for privacy and picnic. Nice vibes. Must visit but suggest to wait post COVID especially as the ticket prices are not discounted at all. The parking $15 in a remote area is an absolute unnecessary ripoff.

Bruno Freire Melo

Had a fun weekend there with friends. It's always fun.

Carol Gaia

Wonderful

A K

The Toronto zoo is a great place to spend a day. Gotta love the monkeys. The camels looked sick and tired, but what do I know. Ticket prices keep getting more expense, to the point it will deter people from visiting.

LakeShore Technical Solutions Drone

Tons to see. Probably the best zoo I've been too

Victoria Galbraith

Wonderful and clean Zoo. But found that the amount of walking involved was stressful, washrooms seemed far between as well as food without VERY long line ups. Enjoyed the knowledgeable signs and tours available. Happy to see so many endangered species being taken care of so well.

Muhammad umair

Excellent visit, a lot of fun activities to do for kids, beautiful animals.

Joshua Anderson

There is definitely a lot to see. Get there early because crowds get large quick. Animals aren't too active and so they can be hard to see due to certain ones having large habitats. While we were there, it appeared that some exhibits weren't really open. A single European reindeer was out. His habitat was huge. Also, information signs were everywhere, except near the animals they talked about.

Greg brown

Have been here many times, and it never disappoints. Kids love it and it's relatively inexpensive for a day long trip with the kids. Lots of things for the kids to see and do, Nd on the hot days the splash pad is great! Will likely get a membership for the amount of times we bring the kids here in a year, it's worth it!

Muhdin Jahir

Good place for having quality family time

Anatoli Sen

So I went to the zoo with my Camp group and I was watching the kids and I just love the experience of the zoo animals are being funny the monkeys are being amazing just making everybody laugh and kind of scaring me and that he knows were smashing the mirrors and the lion in the meatballs was just crazy and everything and just the ostrich was really funny to make fun of it and just play around with it and the wild deer and everything and elephants and the tiger zoo is amazing that I like every animal you could think about and the food and pet store are just great and bus trip was fine nothing happened it might rain but it was really sunny food court is Top Notch not as good as in Center or the Food Lion jeneane's on her but it's great and I'll make your belly full and I was just fun

Bethany Houghton

Overall, always a fun visit. Disappointed that they chose to ask for personal medical history to enter. We support personal choice and will not be back until the Zoo does as well. A shame since so much is outdoors and would be very safe.

amina sab

I love it ????

Anchie Ingal

The area is too wide, good for the animals. They have panda, polar bears, very nice zoo.

Gabriela Barella

Very nice place to go as a family. Very clean and lots of shade in the summer. Fun for all ages, kids, adults and elderly. I recommend to go as early as possible because it takes the entire day to see everything. Very informative!

Betty Chang

Fantastic for all ages. Nice to walk around and kids really enjoyed the splash pad and animals. The zoomobile was a fun ride, and we got to see some behind the scene areas not accessible by walking. The only downside was that the food selection is quite limited.

Benjamin Dan

Used to come here a lot as a kid, and definitely one of my favourite times was the winter. While a lot of the large animals weren't as active, it was never too busy so you always got to take your time at each exhibit and not feel like you're holding up a line. Having recently visited on New Year's Eve day, I can definitely say it's just as good, if not better than I remember it. The cold weather also allows you to appreciate the beauty of the indoor pavilions much more. One thing to keep in mind is that it involves a lot of walking. Yes, the animals are sparse for such a large area, however this allows for more space for each animal and attempts to re-create their natural habitat as best as possible. While it can be frustrating, it always helps to remember that these are animals we're talking about, and not inanimate objects. If it means more space for a pack of wolves or cheetahs to run around, I'm all for more walking.

Steve Mostafa Dafer

The debate on whether zoos are ethical or not aside, the zoo is pretty big with some nice animal variety. Offers multiple entertainment locations, and the yearly membership caters to huge savings if you plan to vist a lot (or just more than twice). It also offers an air-conditioned multi faith room!

Ankur Govil

For anybody who has recently not visited any zoo any place in the world, this is the place to visit for a whole day. It involves a lot of walking but the map provided at the entrance is so good that it tells everything. The zoomobile is so helpful and saves time and energy. There is drinking water facility at few places. The animals are well kept it seems and a set-up of their natural habitat is tried to be created artificially for their survival here. It's wonderful to see few of the most dangerous animals from so close.

Marion Morassutti

Excellent place for relaxation. recommended!

Michele Vieira Cordeiro

Wonderful family outing! we have to go back, we can't see all the animals.

Dr. Debarun Dutta, PhD, PMP, FIE

Very highly detailed information on the animals and a wide variety of different animals from various countries. Excellent collection of animals which aren't available to see in other parts of the world, like Polar Bear, Arctic Fox, Komodo Dragon and others. Great customer service as well. Toronto zoo is the most unique zoo I have ever visited around the world.

Nelia G

I felt really bad for some animals, who were in really small enclosures such as the large cougars and the polar bears. I did see some repetitive movements from the cougars and the polar bears which is said to be a bad sign, I did however think the zoo is beautiful and well maintained. I do have a suggestion for the smoking area though, I saw poison Ivy in the smokers area.

Đəmøñhųņťĕř

I dont want to walk for 4 hours looking at small animals either hiding or sleeping. I think only the yalks were awake but were a half km away.????????

Illy's World

The Zoo never disappoints and today was no exception. Only reason for the 4 star rating is due to many of the attractions not being open due to Covid. So more of a warning to goers to check what's open and what's not to make sure you bring what you need for the day i.e. strollers if you don't want to rent one as the zoomobile train thingy is closed. We got extremely lucky with the weather and very small crowds. The timed entry is working out so well and should continue to be used in the future regardless of Covid as it makes for such a much better experience! Five of us ranging in ages from 50 to 7 each found something to love.

Harmony Clauer Salyers

We absolutely love the Toronto Zoo, and so does our toddler. I love how affordable membership and parking are. We haven't gotten to try out the splash zone yet, but it looks amazing. Our son really loves the kid zone. Can't wait to try out one of the wild encounters.

Nayab Qureshi

Beautiful snowy day at Toronto Zoo. There is a lot of walking but the indoor exhibitions were worth it.

Clifford Budgell

Enjoyed our visit to the Zoo. Wasn't over crowded and there were volunteers around to make sure people were wearing their mask, especially around the animals that may catch Covid. Lots of information and a great place to bring kids, but also enjoyable for adults too.

Daniel Stine

Large zoo with lots to see, including white lions and sumatran tigers!

U E

Amazing place to visit. You can see the animals very close. The kids really loved the too. Highly recommend the Africa part of the zoo. You are allowed to bring food and drink there, so I highly recommend packing a nice picnic basket as there are plenty of picnic spots.

Jaspal Singh

Visited Toronto Zoo on weekend for the first time.. I must confess that one needs at least 2-3 visit to cover everything. It is very big and so many animals to see. It is good learning experience for kids to learn about nature and animals. Good to see the animals are kept in safe and clean environment. Key attraction is tiger den where you can see tiger cub. The only sad part is that you feel that freedom is not choice for these animals. You heart will break if you see sad and old Orangutan. May be Zoo should keep old animals which need shelter and support.

M. M.

A great day trip with amazing animals to see. Staff was friendly and helpful. Washrooms were clean.

Rina Lubach

Animals make people happy

Matt Fuller

The zoo had so many great animals obviously from all over the world. The park seems maintained and the animals relatively happy. Only the chimps and monkeys seemed really unhappy. The sad orangutan made me stop buying products with palm oil in it. My only gripe is that the park is so spread out, there's lots of walking between enclosures with nothing to see between animals. Lots of wide open empty space so between animals it was painstakingly boring and exhausting. See the Zoo once and never go back. Not worth a 2nd visit.

Jennifer Yocom

They have a lot of animals. It's a big place with a lot of walking.

I.Gibran Tennessee

Nice fun day with the family. Zoo map could be a little bit better with more details. Some exhibits are still not fully open.

Sabrina

Was a great day. Can't wait to go again.

Patricia Kirinkov

Beautiful huge zoo. Well Maintained. Great gift shops. Even in the rain it was super fun. The train is an additional cost but definitely worth it. Everyone was a pleasure except the young guy cashier in the Tim Hortons by the entrance. My debit card did not work in that one machine so he kept running it as credit because of my accent although I told him it was Canadian. No problems elsewhere. I’m not that into zoos but this one is not disappointing. No sad animals there! My 8 year was very happy.

Dharini A

A lot of the pavilions are closed still, zoo mobile is only for Toronto zoo members so you have to walk everywhere. If you’re only planning to come once this summer, definitely wait it out until they open more things. I hope they realize having zoo-mobile available only for Members means they’re turning away sales from a lot of people who are just visiting for the day and willing to pay $8 to use it. I was extremely annoyed with this, families with little kids are going and you’re making it very inconvenient for them to have a good experience. Sad to see a tourist attraction using covid as an excuse to gain members.

Peter Oswald (PeteRobOs)

Not sure if it's because of covid or just bad timing but, there was not a lot of habitat population on July 16th. Got a lot of walking in though over 12,000 steps! Just wish there was more animals to see.

Colin Dickie

Absolutely enjoyed the zoo with the family. Lots of walking. Good social distancing. Slash pad was fun and limited people. My favorite area was the penguins. I recommend and will be back because I bought a membership which was well worth the money.

Jorge Richard

It has some amazing live displays of animals and they are divided by continents and environments. Nice experience!

Krisztina Kiraly

Loved the zoo. Wonderful staff and volunteers. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Loved the zoo overall

nadDesigns

Its very good place to visit specially for kids and animal lovers. Parking is quite expensive. Ticket is arround $35 or more. Food inside is okay.

Shailja Thakur

Overall it was a nice experience. Just because of covid, most of the things were closed and we did not get to see a lot of animals so i would suggest visiting the zoo when they are completely open as it will be worth it and FYI, THERE IS GOING TO BE A LOT OF WALKING!

Darlene Edwards

Not over crowded. Friendly volunteers.

Jean-Philippe Fradet

Very big zoo, a little too big for all the animals that they have. Since the covid the access to the washrooms is complicated. But it was fun, you just nees to go when its not too hot, and bring good shoes for walking

jonathan pimentel

I try to come at least once a year because it is a great way to spend the entire day. Weather was perfect and it was busy but people were I great moods. We had a family group with 2 strollers and everything was accessible. Indoor pavilions are sometimes tricky with the stroller and got to busy but again a great day so everyone wanted to go. We had alot of animal put on a show for us and it was very clean for a big place with so much traffic. You will certainly see us again!

Marlen Dillinger

It's one of the best zoos if not the best. Big space for the animals, they look happy clean and friendly. Go with comfortable shoes! It's an all day walk if you want to see all the zoo.

Danny Elisha

As always, a great place to spend the day with the kids. Bring your own water! It can get hot during the day there.

Jennifer Munro

The zoo is always a blast. The animals are great and the staff so friendly. The Polar Bears and the North American River Otters are my favourite.

Lo-Anne Chan

We arrived for our time slot around 3pm. We were able to cover most of the sections of the zoo (except Canadiana) in about 4 hours. There were several exhibits closed or animals removed from their enclosures due to COVID. You are allowed to bring your own food and drink, which is awesome because the concessions are pricey and they close at 5pm.

Jude Green

Great staff, fun times, so much to see and do. It's far, but a membership is worth it if you plan to go 3 times in a year.

Adam Poznanski

Great and fun place for the family

Brian Scott

I really enjoyed Toronto Zoo because it was quite massive and would take you hours to complete. It was well worth the money especially if you do the city pass (about $78 US) which will save you about $80 . The guides were helpful and knew quite a bit about the animals. They have different times of the day where they have the guides talking about the animals. The parking is the only thing that is expensive at about $12 bucks but that's just me. The gift shop process are as expensive as you would expect.

Jean-Pierre Ung

A decent zoo. More colours in the park itself would make it more fun and welcoming. More interactive games for the kids. The train ride could take a better route so you see more animals. Less "dead" walking area. The staff, though, is great and very helpful.

Marcie Frewin

I had a decent time while visiting the Toronto zoo. SOOO many animal exhibits, restaurants and snack locations, gift shops, washrooms etc were all closed throughout the park. Although I understand the reasoning behind this (pandemic and low capacity inside the park), it sure made for a creepy feel at times when nobody else was around for awhile! Also made finding lunch a bit of a challenge depending on where you were in the park. Would have to plan out timing for restaurants open. The park was exceptionally clean and well kept though, including washrooms.

cherie mckeon

Worst zoo that I have ever visited. I was sorry for the Tigers and other animals.

Mariia Ryzhenko

It was an amazing experience. Even though we had to wear masks, it didn’t spoil a day. There was a perfect and warm weather in spite of the fact that it was a mid November. Although all the animals are treated good, it was a pity that they were not in the wild.

Will Bub

The zoo is great and huge but some pavilions could use upgrades and adding more rides would be good. The new Tundra Air ride is fun.

Matías Guillermo del Solar Gunn

Perfect for a Family vacation visit!!!

Jordan Smith

Excellent experience, great job promoting social distancing, many hand sanitizing stations and many measures in place to keep us safe. I have been both before and after COVID and I can say that the experience is still excellent. Keep up the good work!

Akinola Tolulope

Much bigger than I thought to be fair. I reckon it'd be a lot more fun in the summer cuz a lot of the exhibits were closed. Even some stalls and kiosks were closed. Still had fun with the ones that were open in winter (Dec. 29). Tickets and parking can all be done online prior to arrival. Good covid adherence by the staff. The wait lines for the food sections were not so nice tho.. Only reason I'm not giving all 5 stars.

Vincent Legault

This zoo is great! Kids had a lot of fun and most of the exhibit are fun to visit. I did prefer Granby Zoo but not by far.

Robert Burns

Great fun at the zoo. Better than expected!!

Kashley Coon

We planned our Zoo trip to be on a sunny August weekend, and sunny it was! The day was very hot and as a result many of the animals were either sleeping in the shade or in a non-public enclosure due to the heat. While I understand the zoo staff do not control the weather, and that the animals health needs to be a number one priority -- being unable to see a lot of the animals (otters, chameleons, etc) was underwhelming. That said, we still saw many animals. The zoo is very large and difficult to complete in one day coming from outside of Toronto. The air conditioned buildings were very welcoming in that summer heat, and the animals we did see looked very healthy and content in their enclosures. Walking around I don't, personally, get that heavy sense of "they shouldn't be caged" in this particular zoo as the animals seem very well cared for. The 3 month old tiger was very cute as well. Bathrooms were easy to find and access, COVID protocols were certainly in place and my kids enjoyed finding the many sanitizing stations that were spread out all over the zoo. A few of them were empty, so bring some sanitizer of your own as well. We did have some difficulty locating a place to refill our water bottles and as a result had to purchase some drinks from a vending machine. Prices in the machine started around $4, and you could use your debit or credit card. Overall, fairly satisfied with our trip out. We will have to make a point to come out during the cooler months so we may see more of the animals moving about their enclosures.

Marion Morassutti

Wonderful as always. Covid fully vaccinated with proof and ID. Good time had by 3 generations. Highly recommend

Franklin Saplamaeff

The zoo is a great place

Tara Signorelli

Some displays are still the same as 30 plus years ago, and showing their age. But overall it's a nice zoo that is well laid out and interesting. Currently the Arctic trek area is really only polar bears.

Kendal Jhass

I always love the zoo. The one way walking path is great at the moment and it's SO NICE that there are fewer people so you can take your time and see everything without feeling too close or overcrowded.

Alex Nielsen

I used to come here every year as a kid. They have interactive activities and events every now and then with lots of opportunities for your kids to enjoy! The indo-malaya area is beautiful during the evening.

Bernie Taylor (Fr B)

you can spend the whole day or even days learning about different kinds of animals giant pandas are a great attraction only the lines are long

Michael Metcalfe

Despite COVID restrictions there was still a lot to see. Wear some good shoes, there is lots of walking.

Ron Kielstra Jr.

Great family outing, but buy your admission through the City Pass instead of the zoo to get more bang for your buck.

Sas Nalliah

Kids love it. Went to see Panda. Bring your own water bottles. Lots of walks. If you have any small children, you better to bring a wagon. This way you don't need carry everything. If you don't go early, you cannot see all the animals due to heat/humidity. Overall i will go again.

ALAATHSH AL ABBAS AL HUSSAIN

My grandson had the best time at your place thank you for the special memories you guys allowed me to have with my grandson and daughter....bless u...♥️

Nicholas Wong

I visited the zoo numerous times and it always been amazing experiences. Some days they are busy and I always try to go in very early to beat the crowd and less hot from the sun. The animals look well kept in my opinion and the zoo itself is clean. Lots of food options as well as rest areas. If you go with kids, there are "treetop" trekking and a large splash pad. Just don't forget to buy your car ticket before you leave. I don't know why not make us pay when coming in or at the exit gate instead. Dont forget your telephoto lens for fellow photographers!

A R

Went with thr family on a Saturday evening. Great time to go. I have a membership, as It's been only place to go. I would recommend the Toronto Zoo to families and couples.

Michelle S

They are doing a great job of social distancing and keeping number of guests low. Helpful staff. Excellent day of walking!

X z

Still a great place for kids after this pandemic!

Terry Dipple

Lions, tigers and bears oh my! Great way to spend a day.

Huzaifa Mohamed

Went to the Lumia night show was a great disappointment as not worth the money…. Would not probably go even if it was free????????????

Matthew Weiler

We planned to go to the zoo with some friends and family for our daughters birthday. But she was sick on her birthday so we had to go another day. The Toronto Zoo was great that they let us swap our tickets to another day. The day that we went started nice but then the rain came, but we can't blame the zoo for that. The reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 star review was that almost all of the restaurants and food-carts were closed. Not to mention some of the animals that we really wanted to see we're not available. But we still had a great day.

Gama Seva

It's a clean zoo and lots of spaces for expansion. Be prepared to walk long distance if you want to visit the entire zoo.

geri d

Great experience however some of the animals looked depressed ????

Kerry Trezise

I'm From England And I Work In A Animal Sanctuary As A Animal Carer So I Always Like To Visit Other Animal Places. We Were Staying In Downtown Toronto And We Got A Cab To The Zoo Which Was Much Further Away Then We Expected. We Had Tickets For Opening Time And We Spent The Whole Day There. It Was Also Very Quiet And Was Really Enjoyable. The Place Is Much Bigger Then I Expected And I Wanted To See The Bears The Most. The Canada Section Of The Zoo Is Rather A Long Walk And Has A Rather Big Hill .. So Good Shoes Reccomended. Also We Didn't Take Any Snacks But I Highly Reccomend You Do As We Only Found 1 Food Outlet Open Near The Polar Bears. I Always Like To Look At Enclosures Ect And I Did Think A Couple Were A Little Small But Then There Were Also Ones That Were Fantastic. Also A Lot Of The Animals Hsd Enrichment Devices. We Spoke To A Lovely Volunteer Lady At The Lions .. She Was Very Informative. We Didnt See Any Other Animal Staff All Day Or Any Other Talks Happening. I Wanted To Buy Lots Of Gifts In The Gift Shop To Bring Home But I Did Struggle To Find Things. I Ended Up Getting A Lot Of Fridge Magnets For People As There Wasnt Many Small Items With The Zoo Logo On. Overall I Had The Best Day Looking At Beautiful Animals And If I Ever Visit Toronto Again I Would Go Back To The Zoo.

Red Queen

Really fun just wish there were more places to get shade or cool off in heat waves and wish that there was a connecting trail from Canada to Africa. Trust me unless you are obsessed with Canadian animals it's not worth the huge hills. All the animals can barely be seen in the Canada wing for such exhaustion coming back. Other than that it was fun just definitely recommend not going to the Canada part unless using the zoo bus thing so you don't have to die in a heat wave with the mountains haha. Love the enrichment they provide the animals. And definitely go see Mila the baby tiger this year ????????

David Chan

The Toronto zoo has always been a great place to see animals. The splash pad is also a decent size. The pavilions are all starting to open up and the new addition of the America's pavilion is a treat. If possible try to come in the morning as the animals tend to be more active before it gets too hot.

Abhishek Rao

Welcomed by a zoo employee, she directed us the best way to start the tour and also showed us where we were beginning. It was good to see all animals however some animals had very small enclosures. Gorilla may be, the tamarin monkey, cougar, eagle, falcon. Only felt eagle and falcon could be released. May be they are endangered. Having said that it's a beautiful well maintained park. Look forward to visit this place again.

Denis Bisson

Great site with not only animals but with trees, water, etc. Nature is complete there! Good walk while seeing "sometimes" animals that don't hide themselves.

Hannah Dylan

I love the zoo. We always have fun when we go.

Jennifer Fischer

Beautiful day enjoying the walk & watching the many special animals, retiles and birds. Lots of washrooms:) Clean grounds

Saloni Bhatia

1. Book early monring slot TIP: Purchase parking ticket online along with the zoo entry tickets ! FYI- Tickets are non refundable 2. Pack lots of food and drinks if you wish to, outside food is allowed. Lot of picnic benches around to sit and enjoy with family n friends! TIP: carry a cart with wheels so its easy to drag! 3. Wear your most comfortable outfit and shoes. We walked 11 km in total!! TIP: don’t forget your sunglasses, cap/ hat if it’s a sunny day. Rain or shine its open so dress accordingly!! 4. Start the zoo visit from Indo - Malaya instead of other way round! You will thank me later!! TIP: Keep your map handy! 5. Don’t worry about splash pad early morning, u can always come back for the later slot as they allow 225 people to go in ever other hour n they have to leave after one hour. May be if you have younger kids who you believe won’t walk much but would enjoy just the splash pad then of course you can go in morning. TIP: For 3:45 pm slot we were in line at 3 pm… you should be there 20-30 mins prior to the slot u want…to get ur entry!! 6. Lot of eating options inside , water fountains available too and lot of washrooms after every few meters of walk. They are well maintained and equipped. FOOD INSIDE IS COSTLY. There is a zip line as well for $12 per person, just maybe 30 seconds ride. I did that just for fun!! 7. If weather permits u will see all the animals and it’s indeed amazing to see such wildlife from so close!! I personally loved watching polar bear swim right in front of my eyes!! Overall worth the money spent! Enjoy and like my review if it helped you to plan your visit in a better way!

Adam Koots

Nice place to go have a walk and see some animals. Can be busy so going during the week can help. Recommend the membership and parking pass as they are the best bang for the buck.

Jude Green

When we went they had wheelchairs so accessible for anybody in wheelchairs or needing wheelchairs electric ones as well Restroom wheelchair accessible very clean and sanitized due to Covid and places to eat and drink where very good .no problems getting there Staff very helpful as-well as animals were well taken care of the staff teaches everyone about the animals on Facebook live too I recommend taking your whole family there even grandma will enjoy seeing and learning about different animals from Blackbeard to Snakes

Giulio Carena

It's big, I mean it's really big ! Plan a full day in there and bring picnic !

Alan Jones

Although the price for everything was a little high I found the trip enjoyable

Waan Rasita

The best place to bring your little one. They have splash pad and kids zoo good for any age. Stroller and wheelchair for rent. Food and cafe inside are closed before 3pm if its not during the school break so bring your snack and water. Lots of clean washroom around the zoo.

Qudsia Zia

Nice pl

N Bali

Enjoyed the time here. The zoo is cleaned and well maintained. The signs to go around the zoo are well organized and visible.

Ben Harrison

With kids, you can cover 80% of the zoo walking in about 4 hours. Decide how important pandas are to you ahead of time!

Pete Kloppenburg

Awesome place for kids. In summer the water park is excellent, the Zoo Mobile is a great way to see everything without getting completely exhausted, the zip line and the gorilla walk look very fun for older kids. Not cheap, but you can make a very full day of it.

nicholas legassie

We went at then end of the season and it was all dead and barely Anyhing to do be aware or your timing.

Nano Suzuki

Would I come here again? YES!!

Umair Qadeer

An amazing place to spend an afternoon with the young ones in your family.

Matheus Mendes

I'm definitely going to bring my family here! Today I did visit the Toronto Zoo, and I had a great time. Also, I could see how the staff are so committed to giving to the animals good care.

Jennifer Irving

Our son's favourite is Kevin the Peacock. The Canadian domain should be a lot more accessible and maybe have some sort of restaurant at the bottom, since it's such a big trek.

Tuite Ha

Rhinos, hippos, polar bears, pandas and even a water fountain park for kids.

Isabeau Landry

the best visit at the Zoo Ever, the covid restriction have made it that there are less people on site, less frantic energy translated into the animal feeling more relaxed and as a result the animal where so much more active than my first visit.

Desperado II

The zoo is dated, many animals 'temporarily off display', might as well say 'dead', the zoo is dirty and they spend too much money on installation pieces, which are tired and provide nothing to the experience. Animals are difficult to see, many off in the distance, coupled with strollers and noisy children the long walks between displays become tiresome. Directions are poor and paths need to be marked better, speakers lack enthusiasm, and are busy pushy a liberal agenda, while you look at depressed animals. I was there this Sunday and have never felt so sorry for the animals, snakes with filthy water and partial sheds, depressed looking primates, many displays empty and filthy glass that made viewing the animals poor. I suspect that this facility suffers from paying their administration and not putting the funds towards animal welfare and displays.

T White

Honestly, I always have (and pretty sure always will) loved the zoo. I love seeing the animals, and now they have added (since my last visit years ago) "wild encounters" to get up close and personal with the animals. Plan accordingly though. Currently you need to buy tickets in advance and they are non-refundable as the zoo operates rain or shine.

Cecilia “Ceci” De-Hanna

Best place to support animal conservation in Toronto; plus it never gets tiring to smile when seeing or spotting a resident species! Hopefully the place will be buzzing again . . . not with bees but with vendors and the sound of the zoomobile to hop on and off! September 2021 felt a bit like a ghost town and getting a snack is a matter of packing food with you!

Alex Haack

Lots and lots of animals to see at the great Toronto Zoo. Place is big but easy to navigate through with lots of signs and maps posted along the zoo. Great value for the price.

Justin Platnar

I love zoos. I love this zoo. Lions are cool.

Manuel R Avila

Spectacular! It's totally worth it

Cody Hutchinson (ru37dog)

I've been to the zoo every year and always enjoy just wish it was a bit bigger

Estefano Ampuero

Amazing interactions amongst animals! All day attraction, lots of walking. Fun splashpad for kids

Katelyn Di Giulio-Helmer

Great staff, fun times, so much to see and do. It's far, but a membership is worth it if you plan to go 3 times in a year.

N S

It's too big to be covered in a day, especially if you are with kid(s) I think it's costly, but being only zoo in Toronto we don't have choice. bring your stroller for kids as zoo is big with many sections, they will get tired, Toronto zoo also rents trolley/wagon for kids, for some $8 or $10 there is a kids section on right side after entry, where you should begin if you have kids, right next to it is Panda section which is the section you must not miss apart from them, discover yourself! if possible bring your own food as there will be long queues at restaurants and you don't want to spend your time waiting while there is so much to see

Afsana Kabir

We went for the hype it carried but the walking was way more than actual animals. The directions were SOOOO confusing. Everyone was talking about how confusing the place was. The pavilions were AMAZING. so much stuff inside make sure to go in each one. Some of the places are still closed like walkthrough in kangaroo was closed. Otherwise there were washrooms food stands in every section which was very convenient. There is a splash pad too for kids. Nice and big.

ibi ali

Not a fan of it during covid, the lion safari is waayyyy better then wat they came up with

J C

Due to covid, several of the indoor exhibits were closed. Parts of the zoo is also going through renovations. Otherwise, good place to walk around & see the animals. Gift shop closes right at 4:30pm.

Suzanne de Waard

I was surprised on how big the park is! A lot of variety of animals and eventhough there are covid regulations and some parts are still closed off, most was able to visit and very clear lining on the grounds in reference to where to go! Really spend a full day (11.30am- 7pm) to see all. Only the icecream I would be careful as it gave me .. uhh well you guess.... Was not comfortable to constantly need to run to the toilet the last couple hours. haha

The Murphunzios

3.5 Drove up from Windsor, through downtown Toronto , during rush hour, with certain major roads shut down, to a hotel that really could have done just a little bit better, inorder to go to this Zoo and I won't do it again. Pros. It has a nice variety of animals to look at. Cons. The variety of animals doesn't matter much, because good luck seeing them. Park doesn't flow. Maybe it's just the covid restrictions, but I personally like to walk with a flow through a park. You have to back track everywhere, to get anywhere. Grab a slushy, oh wait there all " I'm sorry they are not ready yet" at 2 pm, on a 90 degree day "30c" I really could go on but i have to do the review of the hotel next and they need a little bit of this.

Viking Fury

My family and I treat ourselves to a membership every year for Christmas. My wife and I love coming here and my kids adore the animals. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the park is clean and a pleasure to walk around.

Leon Mohorovic

Very nice walk around the zoo. Got to see many of the animals and they were active which was nice. Went on a rainy day so it was not as crowded. Also, they did a good job with social distancing and mask requirements.

Rachel Labbe

Had a wonderful time! Enjoyed that there was multiple indoor and outdoor exhibits. Saw so many different animals. The price of the day is reasonably priced compared to other zoo's that I have been to. It's very spacious so you're not being pushed out of the way for others to see the animals.

Lucy Amber

it's such a cute place to visit

Marcena Lau

Great place to visit for people of all ages. Lots of walking, includes transport system for low price within zoo. Great selection of animals to see, fare is reasonable. Love how the animals are sorted by continent. Polar bears and Pandas ????. Miss the elephants however. Clean area, plenty of parking space (parking is $11), and TTC accessible. Campground also close by. Open for most of the year.

Christopher Beacock

Great place to spend a day. Giving you the ability to see wild animals from around the world.

Marc Reinson

One of the best Zoo's in North America. Excellent for a long walk. Great for kids. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Animals look to be well taken care of with properly sized living space.

Archie Wright

World class zoo! I have been a family season pass Holder for 10+ years Worth every penny

Loélia

Really great place! Not all animals are available at this season but the zoo is great still! Even more if you come here during the week, a very few people come during the weekdays, it's really pleasant to explore the Zoo this way!

Jade Gould

Super cool to see the animals! Be prepared to walk ... Alot. Over 15000 steps to see the whole park. Super super cool and worth the money. Can go all day and never be bored

Arash Ahmadi

Nice place for day of family fun!

David Orban

Overall a descent zoo. The layout is broken down into regions/continents, and there are quite a few animals. Most of the exhibits are pretty dated, and as such, the layouts for many of them are not the greatest, compared to some of the zoo's in other countries. Still, overall, it is a "world class" zoo, and if you're a captive audience of the Toronto area, a good place to spend an afternoon with kids.

Alexa Lam

This is honestly one of the best zoos in the world. I have been to zoos around the world and Metro Toronto Zoo still has one of the best diversity of animals of all the zoos I have been to and I been around the world to multiple countries in multiple continents. This is still my favorite. Staff are great and the grounds are really well maintained.

Mathew D'sa

Amazing. The zoo is well maintained and there are a lot of beautiful animals that you may not have seen before. Totally worth the trip to the zoo. Yearly pass recommended as the zoo is huge so you do need to visit it multiple times to see the whole thing. On one of our trips one of our family was very ill and the zoo's security and medical staff were first class. Definitely a place to visit.

Victoria McRae

I love going to the Toronto Zoo. Lots of interesting animals and friendly staff. If you don't mind carrying it I recommend bringing your own food and enjoying your meal from one of the many picnic benches set up throught the park

Douglas Loaiza

very beautiful park but people need to walk a lot if they want to see all the animals

Erica Della

Always enjoyed visiting this Zoo. Very well kept. Look forward to seeing it again.

Chin Chinchilly

Went for my birthday... Loved the animals. Some staff were great, some staff weren't so great. It's a good 4 hour walk if you're going at a slower pace like we did. Food was expensive, so bring your own if you would prefer not to spend. Lots of drink machines. Plenty of restrooms. I saw some water taps on the trails. Good family day out.

Maggie

Great way to spend the summer with the kids. Getting a membership is definitely worth it.

Brody Kirbyson

Plenty of knowledgeable staff around enclosures with animal information. Would definitely go again! Great place to bring them family to we wildlife and enjoy an amazing walk!

Patrick Liu

Initial experience when the Zoo reopened was very well planned and organized. I would like to see more visitors properly mask to keep it a safe place for kids to go. This year is my first year joining as a member while I used to visit every year. I like to keep supporting Toronto Zoo for their effort.

Sophia Bhatti

Some animals were not there, but it is definitely a very clean highly maintained zoo. Ya’ll better put some good shoes before visiting as it is quite a walking trip.

Magali Nieto

very nice place to spend a day with the family

Denise Nazar

Really great time with the kids. There were plenty of active animals to see, the weather was great, and the zoo staff did a great job maintaining cleanliness and distancing rules. The only down point was the food - it was very expensive and not very flavourful or high in quality. The soaring eagle zipline ride was very fun.

Devo JWA

I love to go here when I can altough they don't have anything that fun to do as the fun stuff is closed due to Covid-19 percautions. I do like the variety of animals though.

Witney Archibald

Great place, got to see different animals from all over the world. Lots of walking but when you're walking to see something as awesome as a rhino or a polar bear, the distance doesn't matter.

Shirley McIsaac

Such an amazing and fun experience. I cannot wait to visit again ????

Wally Mark

Beautiful park, full of animals. My family and I had such a good live experience. Will definitely come back again.

Aliza Hotchkin

Toronto zoo November 2021. Was a rainy day but being late in the season nothing was open I would say 30% + of things were closed or animals weren’t out which was unfortunate because we went later in the year to hopefully see the animals move a little bit more as it wasn’t so hot. We had fun and we did interact with a few animals which was nice. ❤️

Jill Delen

Visited the TZoo for TerraLumina. It was very interesting and enjoyable.

nitin khandelwal

Great place for kids and family outing. Been there multiple times in summers and once over on winter.

Mariia Ryzhenko

I love the zoo! I've been a member 2010-14, 2020 to forever ????. It definitely pays to be a member especially if you have young kids, stroller friendly, unlimited zoo mobile ride (when operating). I would suggest mornings, many of the animals are gathered for feeding and sometimes you can watch zoo keepers amongst the animals in the exhibits (and quite amazing to see how close they can get to these animals).

Awatt Ahmad

It was awesome . We wanted to go to Ripley aquarium at first I'm glad we went to Toronto zoo . Way more stuff .very beautiful animals and some birds even were free. The only downside was big line up to get food so I recommend if you going take your food

Sanjai Joseph

You will definitely love this place if you love wild life.

The Khalifa

Too expensive for the price. Space is unlimited but zoo itself is empty of animals. Just walk till you see one or two animals mostly sleeping. I got advised to come in September to see animals more awake since it's hot in July!!! "So close the zoo till September". Restaurants and vending machines are thirsty for your money. Way over priced. The zoo is placed inside the city it is not in the middle of nowhere. Prices must make sense. Only good to go once in your life time I guess. Not worth it and outdated place.

Shila Khayambashi

It is an amazing organization! I trully enjoyed my time there

Prischelle Nugara Loder

Our family loves the Toronto Zoo! The kids are always excited and fascinated to visit their favourite animals. Well kept and they have fun activities for kids sometimes. Lots of walking and a great way to spend the day!

Christopher Minns

One of the best zoos in the world.

Karen Vega

It was great but go with your running shoes. You'll have to walk a lot.

Shirin Montebare

Never been in any zoo before until now. I had to go here to support our Toronto zoo and it was a fun experience. the price was fare, thankfully the weather was also good. Will recommend.

Sarah Uy

Walking tour was great. Driving Safari was also good.

Arjun Raj Thottan

The first attraction I visited after reaching Canada. Well maintained. An amazing spot for family and friend's get together! Lots to walk, but worth. Take your time and don't rush. ❤️

Susie Tate

Fun and great for fun exercise

Ashley

The zoo is always fun for the kids and I, love seeing all the animals we don't get to see everyday. My only complaint was this year is the caterpillars, wish the zoo would maintain them, it was kinda gross waiting in line at the gift shop and having them crawling over your feet.

Riley Power

Good animals, expensive food though

Courtney Janssen-Grieve

Especially love winter visits to the zoo. Was surprised to see the Canadian Domain closed this winter - perhaps they're doing renovations. Lions were especially sweet on this visit.

Abu Majed

We spent wonderful time with my family, definitely will come here again

angela addante

Amazing place for all ages. If you are coming more than once get a yearly pass so you can take the train for free and get on at any stop

Sandra A

So many animals to see! Lots of walking. Buy the train pass if you can't do 10 to 15km!

Nitin Anand

It was a fun experience. Takes a lot of time to go through the whole Zoo. Also, have food courts at several stations to help keep up with lots of walking.

Philip Kim

The Toronto Zoo has always been our go to throughout the year. Great for families of all ages. Get a membership. It is so worth it so you don't feel committed to stay all day. Great staff and a huge variety of animals and activities.

guiders14

Great place for kids and adults equally! African side of the entire Toronto Zoo is the biggest. It took us 3.5 hours in entire African area out of our 5 hour tour. 5hours include 30mins of our snack break + rest. Spent 1 hour at Indo-Malaya area. Kids (5 & 2 years old) were tired in 5 hours. Entire zoo is quite big to cover all in one trip (I think). Possibly non-African areas can be covered in one trip. This shows how much Africa is blessed with - in terms of animals/mammals/birds, in addition to all other natural resources. Africa is too underrated - God bless you Africa - hopefully I will visit that region - One day! Thank you Toronto Zoo for showing such wonderful creations that God created!

Nick Walker

One of the most fantastic zoos I have ever been to. It's HUGE! There's plenty to do, plenty to see and then there's plenty of events and staff teaching you about the animals. Keep in mind that it's a bit of a trek if you don't have a car (TTC & bus) but it's well worth it. You'll easily spend the entire day here and have a fantastic time.

Sara Alam

The zoo is always good but you can't finish it in one day! We went twice and still wasnt able to finish the zoo. For covid most things are open. All the penguins were in an indoor AC room due to the heat I'm assuming. We saw the tigers roaming and one actually roared. The lions were sleeping as usual. Parking was plenty and the splash pad is a kids favorite. You have to sign up for the splash pad as soon as you get in to reserve your spot in the discovery area.

Dale Boan

Canada's best zoo

Rob Wilson

Wonderful facilities. So many animals, might have been too much for a one year old, but he seemed to be very interested in the tiger. Can't wait to bring him back when he's older.

Robin Urie

Great place to spend with the family. Will take you two visits to see everything.

Alejandra L

Driving through the Toronto Zoo seemed a bit weird at first. But it turned out to be such a neat experience. The amount of animals that were outside (in the rain) was incredible. To make our experience even more incredible the zoo staff members asked us to be part of a closed beta test to see if this new route through the zoo works. It was such an amazing experience!!! We were sooo closed to the animals. An unforgettable experience for sure!!!

Rob Russo

Amazing place to take your children. An educational experience along with a whole lot of fun. You need two visits to see most of the zoo but there is enough to keep you interested for a month. Definitely a right of passage for every child. I'll be back.

S P

Wonderful place to visit with kids ????????

Tally Pun

We enjoyed it a lot. Animals seems happy. Because of the hot day, animals kinda hide under the shield, it's normal that can't see anything. My toddler loves animals. It's a very big zoo. They have water station to fill up the water.

Alexander Milosevic

They're doing their best!

Cathy Tea Leaf Reader

Lots to see and do but wear comfortable shoes. There is alot of walking.

Asim Ali

Always fun, no matter what. It was good to be back.

Loveen Gill

It's always our go-to family picnic place. They always have something new on the go. Great place to get your kids close to nature and discover other creatures who share this planet with us.

Nisha G

A lot to see - if you live close by, get a membership. zoomobile is the best !!! Some exhibits are closed due to covid but a lot to see!!!

Charlington Cavalcante

Amazing

Douglas Anthony

Loved spending the day here. The layout was divided into regions which was informative and good to learn. The staff was friendly and helpful. Neat and clean place with restaurants, restrooms all over. Be ready to spend minimum 4 hrs once u enter inside. Lots of walking but worth it.

Nicolás Torres Brauer

It's a great place, if you have the chance don't hesitate. Two very important thing to know: prepare for a long day of walking, we arrived at 9:30 and leave at 4:00 and didn't finish the whole thing. Second, if you are coming with kids, even if they are first graders, get carts for then; you can rent a stroller for something like 10 bucks at the zoo boutique, trust me it's worth it!

Anna Kania

It was a very hot day so a lot of the animals were asleep or hiding. The place is huge and lots of walking is involved. I do feel that with so much space they could give the animals more room. A lot of the enclosures were, in my opinion, too small for the amount or size of animals that were in there. I have been to better zoos so this was quite a disappointment. It all depends on what you've seen before. I personally would not go back because the tickets are too pricy: two general admission for adults (2 x $29.00) + ticket for children (it depends on how many you have and what ahe they are) + parking fee ($12.00) (+ optional: something to eat/drink). However, I was totally surprised by so many picnic areas. You can bring your food and enjoy it in the middle of the zoo. The areas are big enough with a lot of trees so we were able to take some rest from walking in the sun.

Jord Cornelius

Zoo is alright the st.Louis zoo is the USA is much better

John Silva

Kids loved it. The Tundra cold look a bit better.

Lord Lynn

I've been going for most of my life. Even though it's the same animals (almost always) its still worth going back (I go once a year). If you can (or cant) see past the blatant sadness in the animals eyes it's a great experience to share with friends or family.

Teena Dogra

We had such a lovely time at the zoo!!! I will be buying membership now because you can save with membership and also visit few other zoos within Canada with the membership.

Bond

A nice place for kids and family to spend an entire day.

Falik Mohammad Khwaja

Be prepared to walk a lot as the different areas are spread out. A lot of enclosures are indoor which makes it suitable even if the weather is cold. All animals had boards mentioning their names, pictures and details.

Matt Walker

The Toronto Zoo has many great exhibits, both indoors and outdoors. There is almost every kind of animal you could want to see. COVID regulations are also enforced in a way that is not too intrusive yet keeps guests and animals alike safe.

Antony Catrdral

An amazing experience with my family, lots of different animals that my 19 month old son really enjoyed. Very huge place and a great time if you like to do some hiking because the trails are long throughout the zoo. Highly recommend for children as there is a water park with a very nice splash pad. Lots of souviners at the gift shops and overrall an amazing exerperience that we will remember for years to come. NOTE: If you go after 12 park in the first parking lot when you get to the zoo because the one they direct you to will be full and you will have to turn around.

Angela Jaskot

I have not been to the Toronto Zoo since I myself was a child. Returning as an adult (without a child) is still just as fun as the Zoo brings out the child in all of us. Many of the exhibits indoors were unfortunately closed due to covid restrictions which the Zoo staff are managing very well. Exhibits with some indoor access but are still "open" to outdoors are open and protocol such as masks and social distancing are required. Having said all that, my partner and myself spent a good 2 hours on a Sunday evening and barely saw half of what there is to see. We will definitely return soon. Also, I should mention while on Zoo grounds there is no smoking allowed which is wonderful and as per covid regulations masks are to be worn while on Zoo property. Also, don't forget to grab an iconic Beaver Tail to snack on while you're there.

Alexander Rykhlinski

Fun and educational for kids, but way too pricey

Luana Silva

Awsome place to go with or without kids.

Elizabeth Ross

Had a lovely day here, the pandas are lovely but I've always adored the Polar bears ❤️❤️

srikant chakravorty

We had a very high hopes from this visit to the Toronto zoo because this was the first outdoor visit to such establishment after the year 2020. We have visited quite a few of zoos while in USA and I'm sorry to say that this Toronto zoo is far less enjoyable and entertaining then any of the zoos in USA that we visited. Majority of the animals were not available because their habitats were under construction or due to other activities they were not available there. Mask policy was not very well acknowledged by the visitors as even in indoor pavilions you are sitting kids as well as adults wearing masks on their chin or not wearing one at all.

Mark Christy

The zoo is worth it. I highly recommend ye yearly pass for people with children. It's highly unlikely that you'll be able to see all of the zoo in one visit especially with a child under 3. So purchasing the yearly pass not only gives you an entertaining option that tires out your child but you also don't feel like you're wasting money if your kid throws up on themselves and you have to leave after only seeing one goat.

Don Whittemore

We went on the Zoo Safari, a way to see some of the animals without leaving your car. It was well managed with lots of smiling zoo-folk making sure that traffic kept moving. The animals looked sort of confused.

Julie Geitner

Fantastic learning experience. Fun day for all ages

Lex Robspierre

A good drive out into the country. The zoo is beautiful and has a fine array of animals on display. Fun for kids but the restaurants, though plentiful, were mediocre and the park was poorly signposted.

Lynden Jensen

Wow, what a huge zoo. We spend the entire day there (from open till close). We missed a few sections under construction, but saw most everything else (sometimes just speeding through buildings). There are more exhibits than you could see in a day, which is great for revisiting value. This is a great AZA zoo that has good encloses and enrichment activities for their animals. My wife and I were very impressed. My personal favorites include the Tigers, were very vocal and interesting, and the primates. If you are walking, be warned the park is huge (particularly getting to the Canada section) and the food options are limited in spring. We will be back again.

Charon Baray

Great big zoo

Carolyn Smith

Always a hit for a Boxing Day visit! Diaper changing area in the Africa area is quite nice. Wished we recieved verbal notice of when zoo was closing to have the stroller rental back in time. Zoo staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Sambit Dash

Don't miss this Zoo if you are planning to visit Toronto. Take a city pass and visit this place.

Shahriyar Kouhzad

This is not fair..all of animals have depression. The polar bear was at a temperature above 30 degrees Celsius???? Lettuce was given instead of meat for hyenas.???? Lions, cheetahs, tigers, none were in good condition. Eagles should fly in the sky, not in a small cage. I hope that one day human beings will give up selfishness.

Aniket Bindu

Best time to visit - Summer Entry ticket - around $18. can be booked online Parking - $10

Kayla Riegert

It's always a great time visiting the zoo, the work and care put into the animals and grounds is always impressive. We did our first wild encounter with Nick, Lindsay and the Polar bears and learned so much would highly recommend checking it out

kiran wasif

It's a good.hang put for families with kids

Mitra A

The larger animals seem caged/drugged (as they usually do in most zoos I've been to). However it is still still a great learning experience for children and a good place to interact with incredible animals. Great educational and citizen science collaboration programs with the public and Parks Canada (Frog Watch 2017)

Jaspreet Singh

Lots of fun, lots of walking and you definitely need a full day if you want to see it all. Definitely worth a visit.

Mahmoud Bakkar

A great place to visit in Toronto

Max P

A very simple pleasure to visit the zoo on a sunny day. Things are very clean, staff is helpful and it's a nice thing to see health precautions being used in all enclosed areas. Pricey but a great whole day activity.

Luiza FS

Excellent place to spend with the kids and family.

nooruddin -___-

It's okayish.. Tips if u really wanna join it 1. Start early - almost all animals sleep post 12.30 2. The zoo is huge.. takes time to complete the tour. 3. Carry ur own food.. makes sense.. if they r allowing to carry it in there - why pay hiked prices inside 4. One time watch... Purchasing multiple passes for entire season gives no value for money

Jay Poel (Flux101)

Great place to visit for the whole family but it is a little pricey. You can easily make a whole day of it.

Oguz Sarkut

It took around 3 hours. Kids had a great time. You won't be able to see elephants in November.

Sara Almaraz

I visited zoo in autumn, place wasn’t crowd at all, so any lines to see pandas, bears, penguins or any kind of animal. Get ready to walk and take lunch with you (or you can buy food there but only a few things). Toronto Zoo is amazing, you will need at least 4 hours to see most of it (if you have one day, you can use it here).

Joseph Valenti

Fun! Clean! We'll run! We had a great visit...

Pranav Mohite

one of the best place I have ever visited. If you want to explore zoo you need 2 days. Very big place I personally think I had to rush to see all parts of zoo.

Em

Mixture of animal curiosity and empathy for beasts in cages. There is something about seeing animals in person, some exhibits are much better than others.

Matheus Ferreira

Really big zoo, organized by areas. Great Variety of animals and rides.

Lynn Lazenby-Faulkner

Beautiful location. It would be nice to have healthier food and drink options

Jeff Johnson

Great place for a visit. When school is in there is next to no one in here but that also means not all food stalls and experiences are available. Because it was not the off peak season yet, however, almost all animals were out to be viewed. Great value for the price. We got tickets online in advance but there is zero need to do so.

Natasha R

Always a fun adventure

Air-Wreck-Ah App-eel

Lots to take in it's worth a trip, you will spend the day at the park!

L L

Most animals were sleeping… during COVID-19 some indoor activities is paused.

Przemysław Bojar

One of the best in the world! I love this place, it is well organized, cages and enclosures are beautiful and animals have a lot of space there. It was great experience to visit this place. Only one problem is that it is quite far from Toronto. We had to take a bus and ride almost one hour (with changing lines) from our hotel.

Bhargav Patel

Located in the east end of Scarborough is an all in one PICNIC spot , Zoo , fun filled thrilling Adventures HOT SPOT for kids and all ages! It has wide range of animals and enough spot to Cover your whole day ! They have all amenities such as lockers to wheelchair Accessibility. In the grave times of Covid-19 some of the attractions are closed but keep in mind they are doing all efforts necessary for people visiting toronto zoo a safe visit! Train service inside is cheap and highly recommended!

Jasmine St-Amour

It's nice but unfortunately a lot of the attractions are closed off and inaccessible due to covid. I like that they have fans with water misting out of them to cool yourself off at for those really hot days since the entire zoo is now only outdoors. Don't forget to bring your own water bottles because the vending machines charge $4 for a single bottle of water.

Jasmine St-Amour

We absolutely love the Toronto Zoo, and so does our toddler. I love how affordable membership and parking are. We haven't gotten to try out the splash zone yet, but it looks amazing. Our son really loves the kid zone. Can't wait to try out one of the wild encounters.

Rihanna

The zoo area is way larger than what I expected. We were at the zoo for 4 hours and we only managed to visit the African and Canadian part!! The shuttles were closed and we had to visit all the zoo on foot (you can imagine 4 hours of walking). All the cafes, restaurant, and gift shop were closed due to covid and it was not a convenience!

Brian Reynolds

Great time. The Toronto Zoo is a great experience. We spent 4 hours exploring the facilities. Had to cut short our planned route to see everything because we ran out of time. You can bring outside food & drink. They have picnic tables, bathrooms and water refill stations spread out. The red pandas were my favourite.

Stefan Kobetich

I love it... So many memories there

Olya Makeieva

Be ready to spend here half of day. I highly recommended to bring something (stroller or the same) for kids under 6. By the way you can rent stroller here in zoo. And would be better to take your own eat with you because only low quality fast food here but a lot of picnic spots. We bought fries but it was absolutely unsalted, but fast fluid guys sad that can propose pepper only because they have no salt ????????‍♀️ as result- hungry kid and angry parent. For now better way is but tickets online in advance as well as parking ($14 per day unlimited). No one check our proof of vaccination ????????‍♀️ We exported less than half zoo. Will be back but more ready for these type of activity.

Vipin Pharkya

Great outing for all ages, some amazing animals. You get to walk and spend some time in the nature. Polar Bears are amazing and you can see them up close. Mila the new tiger cub keeps her parents on toes and it is quite a spectacle.

Sefali G

Beautiful zoo. Great walk. Had a lots of fun.

Madan K Suwal

Very large area. A train "zoo mobile" is a good idea to visit the zoo. The train has 4 stops. You can get on and off as many times as you want throughout the day. Frequency is once in every 12 min, not bad. This way you can spend more time looking at interesting point and keep on passing other area. Definitely walking can be a fun.

Ken Mariciak

Hey it's the zoo! Haven't been here in probably 20 years but found it to be an awesome place to take kids for the afternoon.

Rosy Kumar

Went for the Terra Luminia show which was very mediocore and too overpriced for the experience of random lights and flashes everywhere, drums and music, and short narratives about saving the planet and being the seeds of change (which was the best part). Parking is $14 which is a bit much in top of entry. Zoo's I don't personally condone but aside from that it's very large with tons of things to aee. Usually very clean and signs everywhere and is a great walk (1.8km) I believe.

A T

Pretty good to be honest, it could have more marine animals though, quiet a nice place to spend a whole day in

Nancy Dubé Shim

Had a lovely visit! Saw the rhino and the Komodo dragon being fed. The red panda were so playful since they like the cooler temps. I really enjoyed our visit and would like to go back for another one soon.

meetul patel

Great place to be with family ! Animals are more active in winter ! Love this place

Glen E. Grant

It's been a very long time since I last visited this facility and it was great to see the improvement over time. A hot muggy day with most beautiful skies to back up the adventure that awaited. It's a long hike thru the various areas designated for viewing and with pavement markers and social distancing guidelines it was an easy trek. So much to see along with outdoor activities we're those indoor viewing areas which offered cooling points for the day as well. Obviously with the heat, some animals were seeking cover or napping and one can't blame them. Kids camps were great to see and amenities such as washrooms and food areas were easy to find. $28 for adult was fair pricing. Great place to visit.

Tejesh Gowda

Awesome place but hurts to see beasts caged .????

Raj Mohan Ganapathy

Went on a sunny day. Less crowd and able to see most animals. Kids will enjoy.

Kat Jovey

Terra lumina was such a special experience! A lovely comment on earth and humans relationship with it and such beautiful light installations. So creative! It feels like you are transported to another world. My favourite part though has to be the music. I wish you could buy it at the end for mediation or yoga or something. So beautiful!!

Daphne Liu

The zoo has been improving and always making changes.

Dorota Milewska

My kids' favorite trip destination, penguins and flamingos are always fun to watch. On weekends expect 30min+ waiting times for food. Weekdays are not bad although after getting a "kids burger" that was just a bun and a patty, I'm bringing my own food. Splash pad is great and they limit the number of people so that it's not crowded. There is a time limit of 1hr. Adults bring flip flops, save your shoes :-)

Kaavish Hussain (Kaav)

Amazing experience to view all the animals and their exhibitions. Recommended to come earlier to complete the entire park

Amit Soni

Lots of animals in the zoo. They take good care of them and it's big, I mean really BIG. Be prepared to walk at least 15-20 kam in one day if you want to cover everything. But all the animals were very sad.. probably because they are not meant to be in zoo .. nothing to do with managment though.

Sofia J

Visit for scenic drive

Rubaid Khan

This is the 2nd time that we went here. The first being over 10 years ago. I must say that not much has changed! Missing the fact that there are no elephants any more. Many of the pavilions are still the same. Although they take pride in their 10km trails, it is very difficult to cover with young children, who are really the main reason that families go to the zoo. The kids get very tired due to the huge area to travel. We have been to other zoos which are cheaper and have more animals in a very efficiently designed space with less walking. Also, the entrance fee does not cover anything inside the zoo, such as rides or the 'train'. There should really be more shows, for the price of admission. I say this while comparing once again to similar animal reserves around the GTHA. There is a splash pad and kids area which we didn't even get to go to because it took us all day from 11am-6pm to see the rest of the place (even after we skipped over the American exhibit!). Wish I could say we enjoyed it more, but due to inefficient itinerary planning on behalf of the zoo architects, it is very hard to give it more than 3/5.

mohamed matadar

Great experience after 30 yrs

Puch & Derbi Lover

Very nice zoo. Animals seemed very happy and not stressed as they were not scared and very social. Nobody was hiding and all animals were active with plenty of food. A lot of young animals also which shows successful breeding and happy animals. The park is very large. Arrive early to see everything. The lectures the caregivers give are very informative and they can also answer any question from the crowd immediately. A true conservationist zoo. You can tell the caregivers & animals are very affectionate to each other.

Rada O

Wonderful experience this year! Compared to the previous years there were obviously fewer visitors which made all the difference! Animals were all visible and very playful with the young kids behind the glass! This is a yearly tradition for us and it has been one of the best years yet!

Raghad Manaei

A place for summer only. Totally enjoyed watching the flamingos. A place for family and kids especially.

Jefrry Jose

Good place to hangout and experience the true nature and animals.

Barbara B

Fun day at the zoo. Give yourself at least 5 hours before closing when ordering your timed ticket. We did it in 3.5 but we really had to rush.

Mary Spade

I definitely recommend going to this zoo. The staff is friendly and there is a bunch of animals to look at

Ethan Daley

Well run and very clean for a zoo of its size

AmishA Brar

Minimum of 4 hours of walk. Book in advance. Food inside quite expensive so bring your own. Decent number of animals/birds. Peaceful and refreshing.

Liza Epishina

Who doesn't like the ZOO?!?! Such a cool place for a first date or family day! Loved it!

Youssef Habib

Did the zoo run 5k and got the chance to hang out afterwards. Great time and never noticed this amazing attraction that we have right in our own city. Just wish the parking and food situation was better

Dini Wickneswaran

It was a rainy day We manage to enjoy the day Will definitely go back again as we upgraded our tickets to membership

Olga Sav

Great place to spend a day! Zoo is really really big so unless you take a ride be prepared to walk a lot. Some animals were not there (elephants and kangaroos) but I guess it's seasonal. Also it's better to come earlier otherwise main parking lot gets packed and they send cars to another one which is a bit far. Food options are not great, suggest to take your own meal.

Benjamin Shaw

I am so glad that the zoo is open again. Our kids love it and we have been twice now. They are opening up different pavilions and letting guests see different animals while still doing their best to maintain public health measures. The rest is up to the guests, and my visits so far have been great!

Victor Benavides

The Toronto Zoo has always been a fantastic spot to visit if you want to watch animals. My family and I had a fantastic time live. There were a lot of animals and the animals I came across seemed happy and everyone there seemed to be having a good time. A lot of walking so keep water bottle with you and There is also water bottle station's and stores there that you can buy many sorts of drinks . It features a diverse assortment of animals and enough space to keep you occupied for the entire day! The zoo is usually fun, but it's impossible to see everything in one day! They do offer many things to do just besides seeing animals which you can see on there website at "thing's to do". Overall, the money invested was well spent! Enjoy my review and like it if it helped you plan your trip better!

Haintso Rakouth

Recommend looking online if any event is happening so you'll able to see all of the zoo and you're not rushing to see a certain area before they close it for an event. Also, if there is a certain animal you want to see, they have different times where a staff gives a background story about the animal. Overall, beautiful zoo.

VoudouLounge

Great place to spend some time outdoors, taking a walk and enjoying some great scenery and the animals of course.

chris sellers-mccaw

Love the zoo saw the baby giraffe it was pretty cool.

big mike fishguru

Nicest zoo ive been to. Excellent customer service . great price with lots of parking. Animals all look healthy and well taken care of. Habitats look all clean and well kept. My family and i always look forward to coming and always have a good time. Recommend for the whole family

Cameron Lyons

The one orangutans went up to the glass the gift shop was cool

Yonatan Maimon

Great place for families. The zoo is very big with a lot of different routes. We did only one and will come back to do the rest. It's an open place so make sure the weather is not rainy. There is an option to rent carts for the kids (I think the biggest one is for two small kids). The panda bears look very comfy and happy so that was great seeing.

Sal DiBlasi

Lots ti see, you will spend hours here.

Michelle Worwood

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the zoo because many animals were not there to see. ***Zoomobile’s tickets can be purchased from the entrance only for $9*** Zip lining is closed but other activities are available. You also have to pay the parking fees at admission. Canadian Domain is simply not worth going for as it’s a long walk and there are many animals that can not be seen.

Cam Locke

Unique experience. A lot of walking and somewhat confusing to get around. Main feature was unavailable for the day and you were not ad without asking.

Mike Jones

The animals were super active. Wish there was a bit more control for spacing of groups as some places became congested with people. But we had fun regardless.

Tushar Khare

Awesome place to spend the day with the family

Dubz C

We participated in the drive-through zoo experience. It was okay. A lot of the animals were out of sight. The bathrooms were clean at the entrance. To be honest, it felt like sitting on the 401 in rush hour. Luckily it was not hot. I understand this is a way of supporting the zoo and the care of their animals, so there is some overall good.

Faizan Farooqi

Awesome place for kids and adults. Really huge and a lot of walking so wear comfy shoes. Need more carts though

Christel Barton

Loved it sun or rain enjoyed the kids freedom

Brandon Gale

My family and I had a lot of fun! All of the volunteers were very helpful and courteous.

Jihad El Hajj

A wonderful location for everybody to enjoy a nice walk and/or to look at animals.

khushbu singh

I visited zoo with CityPass ticket on 26th September 2020 and I loved this place. The animal, the surroundings, the people and everything about it was absolute bliss. Mask and social distancing are mandatory. Kids will have a gala time here, with lots of learning and fun. I enjoyed 'Tundra Air' adventure ride the most. Quoting the Zoo pdf -- 'The Toronto Zoo’s TundraAir Ride offers an exhilarating and memorable experience like no other! Visitors will get the chance to soar over the Zoo’s award winning Tundra Trek at a maximum speed of 48 kilometres per hour. The unique design accommodates one or two people in a seat and is the only zip line where you can ride forwards and backwards in tandem. This ride is one you'll want to ride over and over as it gives you a different view of the Tundra animals including Arctic wolves and polar bears. Fun for all ages! $12 per rider or four tickets for $40.00. All riders must be a minimum of 42 inches tall. Single rider maximum weight limit is 300 lbs. Two person ride maximum weight limit is 450 lbs.' Animals have been kept with utmost care. I so wish to be a part of this amazing zoo and its staff.

Kevin Sheppard

Nice plaece to go for the day.

Rianna

My grandparents purchased a family pass and were very passionate about bringing my siblings and I throughout the years and seasons. The Toronto Zoo will always have a special significance having spent so much time seeing animals and their families grow while we toured the grounds on foot and (our favourite) the Zoo-mobile. Thank you to all the staff who work make this facility great while allowing me to make so many amazing memories here. ????????

Arleen MacArthur

Went to Terra Lumina last night. Very kewl! Night walk thru the zoo while presented with lighted imagery to give you conscious awareness of how your actions today can impact the future. 'We are the change'!

Charlotte T Brathwaite

Fun for everyone in the family!!

Jessie Elizabeth

What a sweet zoo! Tons of animals with huge enclosures! The staff look like they enjoy their jobs and take care of the animals really well! I enjoyed my time here!

Nitrata P

Great experience especially with family

Dmitry Eske

Animals in this zoo looks unhealthy. I was in couples zoo before in Berlin and Moscow and they looks much better where. Yes Zoo it's some kind of prison but I feel something wrong with exactly this one. One extra star for helpful personnel.

Manpreet Brar

Awesome place for kids and adults both

Alex Moysa

Great place to spend the day, lots of walking though

Carmelina Karas

Came for a workplace Family Day, saw the cutest pandas and the new Veterinarian Center.

Mike Bl

A beautiful visit, and a great way to spend a day. Ensure the weather is nice, as rain can cause some animals to hide out of sight.

Claudia V Hernandez

Great experience, the TTC brings you right there! Lots to see so be prepared to walk! :)

Kirk Hickling

To get your fifth star, bring back the ELEPHANTS !! Kids loved it otherwise. Bring your walking shoes and bathing suites for kids as the splash pad was a hit as temp reach high 30's.

Johnny Verhallen

Impossible for wheelchair to see things. Too steep of hills. Would not refund me.

Wallace Lee

I have never had a bad experience here, I have been coming here since I was a kid and I will continue till I can't anymore. There is tons to do and tons to see. I really enjoy seeing the looks on kids faces when they get to see all these exotic animals for the first time. I really like that all of the animals have good sized enclosures and all look happy. They have tons of different animals and it will easily take you all day to see and admire each one of them. I can't wait till my next trip back, thanks Toronto Zoo!

Matthew Shutt

Even with covid restrictions, going to the zoo is still a lot of fun! There is so much to see we’ll need to make another visit! You can tell they’re working hard to update some exhibits, sad to see them closed, but looking forward to them opening up!

Joshua Sincek

Fun place to bring the family and walk around for the day and see all the animals

Chris Orr-Van Abbema

Amazing experience all year round. Expect loads of walking, but it is well laid out and the pavilions have a terrific mix of exotic creatures. This year has been especially good because of all the baby animals and the new science and animal health building is very cool see, especially if the staff are working with an animal at the time. Food can be expensive but the different areas organized by world region never disappoint.

Johan Knelsen

Fun place for the kids to enjoy

Shiva Shyam

Lots of animals to see. Quite a different experience especially with kids. They enjoy it a lot and tell you the stories for days

Zeinab Azadbakht

An amazing place to take little kids! Wish there were more options for restaurants

Shannon Frederick

Always love the Toronto Zoo. The enclosures and enrichment seem well thought out and animals appear healthy and alert. Always an enjoyable time!

H. Foster

My family loves the Toronto Zoo and we go quite often. The timed entry for the Splash Park is a great idea as it helps to reduce big crowds in one area. In my opinion the pavilions also need to be monitored for numbers, like the other indoor spaces at the zoo (bathrooms, restaurants, stores). When we were there on July 23rd, there were no staff or volunteers at the doors of the pavillions and they were very crowded, making social distancing impossible. When we went to the Zoo back in June there were staff wiping down tables at restaurants after every use and that was not the case this time. Hand sanitizer stations are still plentiful around the Zoo and there are a few water bottle filling stations around the park. Overall the Toronto Zoo is great value for your money. You make the trip cost effective by packing a lunch. If you plan on going to the zoo more than once a year then it is definitely worth buying a membership (unlimited zoo mobile rides, parking pass and unlimited zoo visits).

Stuart Sackler

The medical centre tours here are fantastic. It's a great place to get a view into the efforts in species preservation. They handle everything from animal surgery to DNA sampling here. It is a fantastic place!

Yishay Weill

Huge zoo. The kids loved it. The staff were really nice

Steven Konieczek

This is a huge zoo and an amazing place to spend the day. They have all different types of animals and you can usually get a close view of them. Be prepared to walk a lot, as the park is expansive.

Deal Gomes

Nice place for outing with kids.

RANDO LANE

The zoo is amazing but ware good shoes lots of walking zoomobile not worth it

Sylvain Boucher

Great for children 10 and under. Simple and not perfectly maintained. No logic in the pathways.

Rob Veldpaus

Good zoo, a lot of walking. Un less you really want to see one of the animals in the Canadian domain I ecommend skipping it. Its off to the side and down a steep hill that you then have to climb back up.

Sheena Yap Chan

This was my first time ever going to the zoo. I only went to take my nephew. Not everything is open because of covid but it can still take the whole day to go around. Honestly I would only go back again if my nephew wanted to go again .

Ahmad Faraz

Do you have the whole day? Go with kids here. But take strollers. It's a long path. Lots of walking. Different continents' pavilions. In summer they run ZooMobile so you can view without long walks. The best parts are the covered areas like Gorilla safaris, aqua etc. Canadian domain is the farthest where you find grizzly bears, eagle, bisons etc. Summers are the best time to visit when everything is open and accessible. We went just before winters and water areas and most of the restaurants were closed. The only negative is the fact that you have to walk exactly the same path back to reach parking once you are done. I mean e.g. Canadian domain is the farthest, steepest and is a dead end. You can't just finish your visit there and exit to the parking. You have to walk back through all other domains like Africa, Eurasian, etc . Adds another 30 minutes. Good place for a day spend.

Amir R.

Visiting the Toronto zoo was a good experience. I really liked Zoo's efforts about raising awareness on sustainablity issues. I am giving 4 stars just because there are a few improvement opportunities: the map/signs could be improved as the navigation wasn't always straight forward. Also, it would be grate if there was an audio guide, or at least some written information about animals.

Blayne Winter

Was amazing on a Nov Friday to go to zoo. Not too busy. Wish more food places were open or more staff as waits are extremely long for food. Animals were out. No penguins as I think they are doing work on the area.

Thi Nguyen

As a person who have visited zoos in "developing countries" like Vietnam and Thailand, Toronto Zoo is not even half as good. Most of the animals are lethargic and depressed and are too far to bee seen from the viewing section. The zoo has good organization that shows visitors where to go to see different animals from different continents but not many animals to see. We saw mostly turtles of different kinds but that's about it. People want to see animals at the zoo but they see nothing but disappointment here. Many of the exhibits were closed due to COVID, construction, etc but the price remains the same. And the $14 parking in Scarborough is a total ripoff. The price for the Tundra Air is prohibitive and this ride is false-advertising. They said on the website that you can see the entire zoo and it's supposed to be fun. But no, the ride was 2 minutes and cost $12 per person. All in all, if you want to pay a high price to see very few animals, closed exhibits, screaming toddlers and walk around all day for nothing, come here. We walked 15km and barely saw animal fascinating animals. Do not recommend.

Matrix

Pretty amazing place to visit with family, the zoo is very unique and vast. It houses many cafeterias and picnic spots throughout the whole place, cleanliness and hygiene is superb. The zoo houses a very wide varieties of Animals/fishes in a natural habitat settings. And the zoo is divided in "continents" so the animals are classified accordingly. Visited during Nov 2021 when the weather was overcast and there was light drizzle. I liked it personally as the weather setting is not ideal for tourists but it makes the places less crowded. Expect the place to be a bit crowded during summer breaks.

Jaselyn Beckman

A lot of walking for mostly empty pens and cages. Animals like the gorilla and orangutan were all by themselves and seemed very lethargic/depressed. 1/3 of all main exhibits were empty or closed. Not worth it at all.

Christian Ardito

The Toronto Zoo is my favorite zoo anywhere. It is huge. Lots of animals. Lots of green space. Awesome!

Ben Kobayashi

Biggest zoo in Canada. 16,000 animals. Staff are awesome and really love and care for the animals. Great place to spend the day on a date or with the family.

Ahisha M

Was excited to get to see ???? and other animals. Was really Worth the time

Allison Brown

It's a very impressive facility, and going in the winter was a great idea and I was able to see animals that are normally not active in warmer weather. My only complaint is that during the winter they offer no train down to the moose exhibit which is a very long, uphill walk. Please consider offering some kind of transportation to that side of the zoo.

Chris Holland

The Toronto Zoo makes for a great day trip. The park is very large and spread out so be prepared to walk a lot, especially in the Canadian zone where you will walk up and down steep hills. It never feels to crowded so it is easy to see the animals at each exhibit. There is also plenty of activities for children, and plenty of food and bathrooms spread out in each area.

Boom Douglas

It should be noted that we went after the Sept long weekend and were in the off season. The website did mention that some animals would not be on display. Fair enough but honestly there were a LOT of animals not on display. Ironically the Canadian area was a pretty big disappointment featuring a crazy long walk to get to see some bears, raccoons, and a swamp. Having said that most of the other areas were still very enjoyable and at a brisk walking pace it was nearly 5 hours of walking to see everything the zoo is huge and really well kept for the most part. We will return next summer and hope for a more complete experience.

Princin Paulose

Loved this place. You definitely need almost an entire day to visit the whole park. 5 hrs didn't cut it for us.

Cecilia Ego Aguirre

It was nice but again animals were hiding. Inside the park should be more advertising of the different animals you are heading to and more entertaining staff while you walk to see animals.

Sepideh Fallahi

Prepare yourself with a long long walk. And if you are visiting the park with little kids and stroller it would be nice to have the pass for the wagon which comes really handy after couple hours of walk with the stroller(uphill) while you only have seen North America section for instance.

Kevin Shin

Ummmm the hot weather! So hot and humid!

Hugo A.

Excellent place to visit with the family, good family atmosphere. The place is very clean except for the food area, It is understandable because many people visit it and there is not enough staff to attend to everyone, the spaces where the animals live are clean and very well equipped for all types of animals. I recommend visiting the zoo very early if you want to see the animals. In the afternoon they will hardly be able to see the animals because I think it is nap time LOL

Ashley M.

This zoo is beautiful and there's so much to see!!! We love coming for all of the animals but especially the awesome splash pad/water park. Tons of fun to have here!!! And great food selections too.

Charles Edwards

The zoo was great. If you plan ahead, get there early you will have a much better time getting in fast and finding parking. The areas are well marked out. Make sure you were a good pair of walking shoes, you will be walking 5 to 10 km on average. Food is over priced so pack a lunch. If you want to enjoy the zoo, prepare the day before for a long walking g day and bring your own food.

Gordon Quintyne

Toronto Zoo is doing great work to conserve fragile wildlife and educate the public

Carmelo Cianciotta

Food is not good at all. The burgers are gross

Sir-M barnaba

Shame so rundown and so expensive animals look sick and tired .

Rob Stirling

One of the most fantastic zoos you can visit. People from all over the world visit Toronto's zoo and there's a reason. The varsity of animals and the sheer size and amount of things to see is outstanding (take a full day for this one). The park is always very well kept and the break down of the park into geographic areas, along with all the information on the animals makes it both entertaining and educational for everyone. The park will have something for everyone, including the kids! The entrance fee and onsite food can be pricy (you can bring your own), but it's well worth the price to see it at least once. Go when the weather is nice!

Bob Steiss

Awesome day trip destination. My family loved it. If you have young kids I recommend splitting it up over a couple days and take advantage of the picnic areas. Lots of great tasting food on site but we took our own snacks to eat between bigger meal stops. If you plan to visit more than once as it is a lot of ground to cover, you may want to look into the membership option. I definitely would but I am an hour and a half drive away.

Mohammed

Awesome Place to Visit

JO'N Leprechaun

Love the zoo each time we visit

Niko Estrada

Very enjoyable experience. Its huge so you'll have to walk a lot. Bring water and you should be fine

Ada Kirkwood

Super fun! They have such a variety of animals with big cages! Great family's, friends, field trips and more! They have food in a lot of places, pretty pricey but still good. They teach you a lot here and keep you happy! Great experience and just so fun! Great for all ages! Loved the polar bear????

Jason Goveas

Toronto Zoo is insanely big and diverse and we loved all the exhibits. A little bit of a disappointment was that the directions are ambiguous which meant a lot of additional walking which was avoidable. Another bit of a letdown was because of the heat a lot of animals were hiding in their enclosures and hence we couldn't really get to see many of the stars. Be ready for a lot of walking and ensure you have enough water and juices to stay hydrated.

Agnes Chaitas

Love this place. The animals are well taken care of. I try and visit 1 -2 times a year. Great walking/exercise. No more smoking areas any more. It's too big of an area for a smoker to visit without smoking. You need to have a few smoking areas. People can't run to the parking lot for a cigarette.

man _ oeuvre

Everything was so great the staff are very nice and very friendly. The animals was so rude ???? they hide them self inside their cages????? We paid money to see you guys ????

Derek White

We took our kids for the first time last Summer and they loved it. It's a beautiful zoo and the animals seem to have enough room to move about.

Trieu Nguyen

Great place when you have young kids! My kids loves animals. We got a membership there and food options are great too.

Bhavin Mehta

Mediocre experience. Only attracts to kids. Nothing special and little too much of a walk for little to see.

Aurora Lumina

Must see

Rich D

Great place to visit for the day. Be prepared to walk. Some of the regions (I'm looking at you Canada) are quite long and have steep hills so be prepared if travelling with elderly or less physically inclined. There is a zoo mobile you can access if you have a membership (totally worth it) that will travel to the entrance of each region. I believe you can purchase tickets for use if you do not wish to purchase a membership. There is a splash pad area for children which can be worth admission in and of itself on the muggier days of the summer. Overall a fun experience and the Zoo is open 364 days a year. Can't imagine those walks in winter but worth considering an annual membership as it's difficult, if not impossible, to see everything the zoo has to offer in one day.

Kimberly Simmons

We did the drive through- we got to see a few of the animals- might want to go early morning to see more. Also bring a distraction for the kids if the line up is a little slow at first. Try to pace the car so everyone can enjoy.

Karina Halcro

This zoo is my favourite, it's the only one I'll go to around here. You can tell the animals are quite happy and well cared for, by staff who clearly feel passion for their work and know how to best tend to their needs. Awesome, beautiful place to spend a day in the city. Just recently the zoo went the extra mile and accommodated a request from me that they totally didn't have to per their policy (Thank you so much Sapphire and Matthew!!). My family is looking forward to our next visit!

Jeremiah Frick

9 hours. It seriously took nine hours for us to cover this place (with three kids), and there were a few exhibits we probably would have spent some serious time on that were closed (kangaroos and red pandas weren't out, unfortunately). The place is very well laid out, with sections devoted to certain regional wildlife (Africa, the Americas, Eurasia, etc.). Most of these naturally lead you to the next pretty seamlessly, which makes for a relatively simple flow. We arrived 20 minutes before the gates opened and there were about two dozen people waiting, but I'd definitely recommend arriving early to get a good parking spot. Do not miss the orangutan and gorilla exhibits, which are really tremendous.

Prajit Dasani

Very well laid out, well maintained zoo. Albeit some attractions have been closed post pandemic.

Dia D

My drive through experience was no good. My family was very disappointed with the display of animals. We didn't even see most of the animals.

Andrew Hunt

Great zoo! Amazing for the whole familly!

Rahul k

Worst zoo I've been to.. they didn't have anything worth seeing

Alvin Ching Wai Leung

Great place to walk around with my kid. Membership is a good deal.

Andrew MP

We did the safari drive through the zoo. Sadly, it was a warm day and most of the animals were hiding indoors.

Michael Farinas

Spacious but not much animals compared to calgary zoo and assiniboin zoo(WPG)

Michael Edwards

Lots of animals. You will need your walking shoe for this one.

Patricia Altman

We had a wonderful day. My grandchildren were in from Vancouver for a visit We decided to visit the zoo. Bought our tickets It is an expensive visit. Be prepared Wear comfortable shoes suitable for extensive walking BUT BEWARE: they do not have water refill stations. We had our eco friendly water bottles and due to it being a extremely hot day. Ranging around 28* we had to buy more and more water The prices were in the $4-5$$$$ range. With a party of 7 this added up Plus all the wasted plastic SHAME SHAME SHAME. Especially with all the signage about being Eco Friendly I don’t mind supporting our zoo. I wasn’t bothered that some exhibits/pavilions were closed. Even for staff cleaning But I was extremely annoyed that water was in plastic and charging so much Due to this, I did put in a complaint, was told it would be looked at. BUT I would not receive a response as to the zoo admin actually proceeding it How do I know it wasn’t just a waste of time We left after only 4 hrs as it was just becoming too expensive

Georgia

Really really sad place. Very expensive place to take the kids. The animals are kept in habitats that are shockingly small. The zoo layout doesn't make any sense and is very confusing.

Meegs T

Love this zoo. Would recommend getting the zoomobile pass, because there is so much to see. Got book marks made from Moose poop!!

Anthony Bernstein

A great place to visit and a safe place to walk and enjoy nature

Henrique Lima

I went during weekday, so all the stores were closed - except for Tim Hortons. Its a huge park so be prepared for long walking or pay more to use internal transportation. You will meet pandas, african penguins, polar bears, giraffes, grizzly bears, etc. If you are lucky, some animals may approach you. Others you will only see from a distance sight.

Stefan Hoskin

Best zoo in town.

Alisa Robinson

Very large zoo with many animals. We really enjoyed the Wild Animal Health and Rehabilitation Center. If you visit in the morning, you may watch the veterinarian perform procedures on animals. Definitely get a Zoomobile band and bring bathing suits so the kids can enjoy Splash Island!

Just Baked

Though it is located at the end of city, but the exquisite beauty of nature will give u all the energy u need to explore the place. Just awesome, a must visit place for the ones who love wildlife.

sherry marciszewski

It's absolutely amazing!

Ragi Mano

Had a great time here with family. Be prepared to do plenty of walking, uphill and downhill! It is really not possible to explore the entire zoo in one day.. exhausting! Pick your favorite places or animals to see and go there. Don't miss the gorillas... very fun and amazing to watch them for hours! Bring food and drinks as there are many picnic areas to relax and enjoy.

Christoph Gansler

We love the Toronto zoo. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. The animals have great enclosures and you have lots of space to view the animals and take breaks.

Melissa D

1 of my favorite places to go !!!!

Koustav Dasgupta

Fantastic experience! The zoo has done a great job to encourage social distancing during COVID, while providing a great experience for the while family. Highly recommend it!

Sam Y.

Could not see much animal on Aug 6th either due to hear or not available for people to see.

Diane Brookings

Large area for animals...very clean...I did find some spaces were small for the larger animals..food was expensive

D M

Zoo was great. Lots to see and do and super clean. Lots of walking so I think the zoo mobile or trolley or whatever they call it is worth it if it's super hot and if you have small children. Also not all resturants are open, different ones open on different days so if you don't bring food plan accordingly. Food choices are limited but was very tasty. Kids really enjoyed the gorilla climb apparatus. The price was good! Canadian pavilion is far and up a steep hill so be prepared if you plan to visit it.

Matt Banks

An absolutely wonderful organization doing amazing work to preserve some of the world's most incredible creatures.

Gabriel Fung

I like it. I have been here a couple times with my family and every time has been a fun and good experience. It is very big and there is a large variety of animals to see. You will probably have to come more than once to see everything.

Miqsh Ak

BRING BACK THE PANDAS T_T .. This is always a fun spot to spend the day!

Angela Lam

It's lovely there is so much open space and greenery between exhibits, but it does mean a LOT more steps than necessary. And I don't know if it was a Wed problem or because it was raining, but almost all of the restaurants and shops were closed, so I couldn't get back to a lunch stop until 3 without adding serious steps to my day. But I passed a bunch of school kids on tours and the docents were AWESOME

Jason Noonan

I have never had a bad experience here, I have been coming here since I was a kid and I will continue till I can't anymore. There is tons to do and tons to see. I really enjoy seeing the looks on kids faces when they get to see all these exotic animals for the first time. I really like that all of the animals have good sized enclosures and all look happy. They have tons of different animals and it will easily take you all day to see and admire each one of them. I can't wait till my next trip back, thanks Toronto Zoo!

Mike P.

Great day activity for all ages. Can be busy on weekends in summer

Ahmad Rashad

This place is so big, it requires a couple of days to see most of it

avatar darth maul

Enjoyed the day, animals were all out. Weather was cool , lots of walking

Phil Jones

This is still the best zoo I have been too but if you can't keep elephants you shouldn't have giraffes, etc, etc. Points taken off only for keeping animals which should not be caged... these are well treated and respected animals all the same.

Brad Brown

Need a full day, or more to see everything. Lots of walking can be difficult for small children. Whole we miss the elephants, it is still a tonne of fun. Definitely remember to bring a bathing suit on hot days for the splash pad.

Abdul Rehman

Went again, loved the hike, visited new pavilions, took the train tour. Train was very bumpy and rocky…10/10 recommend going with your girlfriend if you know what I mean????

Hamza Aslam

Bit to big to walk around otherwise great.

Shane Slattery

Had a wonderful time at the zoo. Family went for the day and got to see most of the park. Part of it was sectioned off because of an event but still well worth the trip. The staggered entry times makes the lines very sort and everyone was trying their best to maintain physical distance. Staff were polite and friendly. Animals seemed well taken care of. Park was very clean.

Dana Wright

Had a great experience here! Did the overnight camping in the zoo trip. The guides were great and knowledgeable, the food was good and the sleeping arrangements were more than I expected. If you like the zoo, I really recommend it!

Ashley-Marie Krios

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The exhibits and seating area were well kept and maintained. Had a wonderful time.

Gamer Friend

Zoo is always such an amazing place to go! I will recommend coming here more then once because there's always something different that happens with the animals! They do offer many things to do just besides seeing animals which you can see on there website at "thing's to do". There is a lot of walking so i recommend bringing comfortable shoes and water bottles to keep you hydrated. There is water bottle station's and there is stores there that you can buy many sorts of drinks and food even popsicles. You can do the zoo all in one day but i recommend going more then just once so you can enjoy yourself! If you go, i hope you have a wonderful visit and amazing day!!!

Omar T

Love the trek through the different continents. Because of covid, some pavilions were closed. But we were still able to see a large portion of the zoo.

Brian Dorion

The zoo is always an interesting place to visit. Remember to wear good walking shoes. It was the fall when we visited so all of the kiosks were closed. Only the main resteraunt was open. Even the store was closed. The Toronto Zoo is the only one I've been to so I can't compare it to others. The cool weather did mean that more animals were outside than during our summer visit.

Marni

Such a lovely place for taking a walk and having a picnic (the park encourages families to bring food and had many picnic spots within). A beautiful peacock joined us when we sat down for lunch! The food sold is overpriced as it is at any theme park. I recommend going through the Africa section to see the most animals. It has so much to offer! The kids section on the right side of the map isn't really worth the time though but there are some cool birds. There's also lots of Pokéstops for Pokémon Go players, and lots of Pokémon to catch. Overall, my family had a lovely time!

Sarath Chandrasekheran

Highly recommended day trip. Be prepared to walk a lot (10km) and spend a lot of time (5hrs) if you want to see the zoo in entirety. Also pack a lot of snacks, drinks and lunches to save a buck. If you are going alone, take the bus else take the car. It's 14$ for parking, no time limit.

Fatemeh Samaei Tehrani

Had so much fun and enjoyed seeing all animals

Zsolt Sabou

I had a lot of fun, great zoo with lots of beautiful animals. I saw so many great animals and trust me when I say that pictures are nothing compared to actually going out and seeing these amazing creatures with your own eyes.

Jey Narayanan

Wow wow wow wow and wonderful Zoo. Must visit. If you have kids, plan to walk around with stroller. I shall recommend to rent the stroller at the zoo. Sunscreen, cap, sunglasses are all recommended. There is a train service too. Kids loved it. Don't forget to start early and spend all day there. One full day is much needed.

Ana Almeida

So happy to come back after a long lockdown. It was very organized. Our family had a great time. We had the opportunity to meet Mila, the baby tiger. Adorable!

Ahmad Pirzada

The zoo is well kept and the animals look happy. Facilities are up to the mark. However, there isn't much variety in the species that you can see probably because of the harsh weather conditions of Canada. The viewing points are far away from each other (which is good if you like walking around). The ticket prices are high. These type of places are usually funded by the governments not by charging high ticket prices from visitors.

Paola Buenfil Espadas

I really love it here. All animals seems to be happy and healthy. My husband and I really enjoyed out time there. I recommend it 100% even more for families with kids.

Hana Imany

Very cute and family friendly place. Not that great of a tourist attraction. Lots of adorable animals and a large variety of exhibits.

Jude Green

It is a must of you have kids, help the city to care more about wildlife and teach our children, they are very professional and friendly staff, nice and clean environment.

Kim De Castris-Garcia

Clean, well maintained, fun, and educational. Masks upheld, but not social distancing, so we had to speed through some exhibits, as they were somewhat crowded at times. All the staff we met we're helpful, friendly, and trying their best to maintain order. Overall, an incredibly fun time, though ????

anthony farouse

Visited on

kenneth rivera

some zoo attraction are not open yet..but overall going there is fun

Shalin R

Great walk across a large zoo area. Sad to see the Pandas go after this summer.

Neil Forbes

It was great experience. My kid had fun looking at all the animals. But some of the exibits are closed due to covid. Will definitely go back when all the exibits reopen.

Brenda Lizett

It should have better directions...the map sucks

Stef Dami

Large zoo, they had amazing exhibits and we learned so much. The Zoo is very very well maintained and animals are noticeably well taken care of.

Ken Kosowan

Who doesn't love the zoo? The membership has paid for itself and then some.

Green Dragon CVR

Incredible experience; one can also drink beer (sold all over the zoo) while walking around looking at bears, rhinos & monkeys.

Jamie Lee Corey

Was lit af I we saw the baby pandas <3

Yoni Levy

Just a fantastic place for the kids to explore and learn!

Nadejda Golovenkina

Loved there. Very nice place for spending all day long

Rishi Sundar Das

Toronto Zoo used to be greatly managed before but my recent visit in Aug 2021 disappointed me, Not many animals were there, the one were there was looked tired or unhappy.

J H

Great place to spend the day with family or friends

Astaroth

Maybe because I never ever been a zoo before? This one gave me great first impression. I saw a lot of different animals, all of them were awesome. The environment was clean, and it was also easy to got my lunch.

Tarek Belghith

Amazing experience at the Toronto zoo, split in different continents and including outdoor and indoor animal places, from the largest to the tiniest, with a kids zoo and an amazing splash pad for the visiting children. Hey ready to walk walk walk alot! Enjoy the visit! ????

Genevieve Labrosse

Fun for the whole family. Be ready to walk a lot. Dress for the weather.

Manish Shukla

I was for tera Lumia and it is awesome. Must try once

Jeswinder “DieselOctane666” Freudeep

Friendly and professional staff. The splash pad was fun, and clean as it gets sanitized of all the high touch areas every hour.

David Bryanton

Great zoo - a full day event.

K M Zakiur Rahman

The polar bears and pandas are the star attraction of the zoo. They are not to be missed.

Roman Golden

Very good place to spend time with family and you don't need to fly in countries where they usually live to see animals !!!

Karen Insley

Large zoo, good numbers of different animals. Lots of convenience stops, walkways are stroller friendly and facilities are family oriented. Noted animals pacing or going in circles.

Christopher Ross (rossgiftscom)

Overpriced, with dirty washrooms but the animals are quite impressive and often quite close

Uma Maheswari

Kids love to visit

Jenny Cavnaar

Probably the best zoo I have ever been to. It's huge! So many different types of animals and it was a great learning experience for my kids. We went with a few other couples and had a great time. The kids were amazed and it was wonderful experiencing it through their eyes. The excitement in their faces as we went from one animal to the next was priceless. If you have kids, this is a must do. I have compiled a bunch of pictures from all of us that went that day so you can see some of what we experienced. But photos can't do justice for this place.

Vanessa Anton

The animals dont look happy. They all just lay there its very depressing to look at. Waited over 2 hrs to see the pandas and basically wasted our whole day bc they just laid in a,pile and didnt move. I feel so bad for the animals i wont go back there.

Gabriel Lamborghini

Awesome experience if you have little kids.

Melissa Ann P

Always a great experience.

Adam Koots

Nice place to go have a walk and see some animals. Can be busy so going during the week can help. Recommend the membership and parking pass as they are the best bang for the buck.

Jason Arneaud

Great fun. Well laid out and family friendly with lots to see.

Danielle Musso

Always such a great experience at the zoo. We bought a membership and plan on exploring all the areas slowly as we have young kids who cant last a full day. Cant wait to use the waterpark next visit!

Nan Li

It took around 3 hours. Kids had a great time. You won't be able to see elephants in November.

Nan Li

Even with covid restrictions, going to the zoo is still a lot of fun! There is so much to see we’ll need to make another visit! You can tell they’re working hard to update some exhibits, sad to see them closed, but looking forward to them opening up!

Kristen Schanche

Wonderful zoo, big beautiful spaces for the animals, with lots of information about conservation and how we can ensure these precious creatures are with us for a long long time to come.

Abdullatif Manjothi

Lovely place to while away ones time with family and friends and lots to learn too . Helpful staff with smiles

Amgad Mekhael

Overall everything was very nice, regardless most of animals were sleeping or giving their back to you or they are far away, the zoo is so big, and has a lot of animals from all over the world, we got in 9 am and got out 8 pm, we visited the splash island for one hour, organize your trip well inside the zoo, otherwise will waste some time, my kids were so happy there and they didn't get tired of walking a lot, we didn't see elephants, not sure if they have one, highly recommended to everyone.

Diana Roxburgh

Had a great time, and the staff was really knowledgeable

Christian Khuong

Great place to spend the day with the family. Huge park loop setup with cool animal exhibits in each loop. Lots of walking outside, as well as inside buildings to see certain species. Helpful volunteers and staff to answer questions. Pack a backpack with drinks, snacks, or even a food for a picnic...areas available. Food and drinks are of course expensive in places like these. Highly recommended.

Kim P

Great place to walk around and see all the animals!

Marcin Tandecki

It's great place to see a wide array of animals. Much of the zoo is outdoors, but there are also animals which are kept indoors, so rain or shine, there's lots to see here. They could use a little more organization. It's easy to get lost despite having a map.

Rajinder Sharma

Fine experience. Courteous staff on site.

Binoy Mathew

Great place for all family members, you can walk on one way road through all zoo. All animals look healthy and active. Safe place for all family: social distancing, hand sanitisers everywhere, time slot based reservations for visiting the zoo. All washrooms are open. There are a lot of tables for picnics, you can bring your own snacks. No train ride option right now, only walking. The splash pad is a bonus for families with small kids.

Don McCallen

Do the Zoo Drive Thru!!

Alan Yang

Very nice zoo with picnic areas if you wish to bring your own food. Entry queue took a very long time due to the point of sale system used. Children under 2 are free.

Tom Wasson

Lots of different animals to see. If you plan to visit more than once in a 12 month period, it is cheaper to buy a membership. With the membership you get discounts on purchases at the zoo (you have to provide your membership card, they don't always ask) and you can ride the Zoo Mobile for free (the Zoo Mobile is a train like vehicle on wheels that takes you to the different areas of the zoo). You need a full day to see all the areas, and it is a lot of walking. Strollers and wagons can be rented on site if you don't bring your own.

Brian Sigmund

Loved the pandas!!!

Amy Kelley

Nice Zoo. Crowded but you could move around comfortably. Only trouble I had were the Ravens. They shouldn't be captive. The other Ravens not captive will call for them and the captive will want to go but can't (aka jail). All the captive Ravens cried the whole time and were over heated. I wasn't sad that I didn't see the baby pandas with a 90 minute wait. I think that was a smart marketing plan on the Zoo's part. Many saw the sign and said no way because they had young kids and wouldn't want to wait in line.

Mark A Miner

It was a great day despite the heat and humidity. We were in the first time slot which I highly recommend during hot weather. A few empty exhibits and some pavilions were not open, but overall it was still a great experience.

kankhita _k

Not a lot of animals but great place for kids and a day of walking around.

Kailash Dhumal

Many animals are off exhibit during the colder months. Best time to visit will be in summer. Nonetheless a wonderful place to visit. Almost every part of the planet covered including many rare and exotic species. The closed pavilion with actual forest feeling is out of the world. Plenty of benches to enjoy home cooked food. Few tips with respect to travel: If visiting the zoo from Rouge hill Go station, there is a direct bus to zoo (85A) which runs only on weekends. However the same service is not available while returning. One needs to catch 85 and get down at board 85A again.

Family Fun

Not sure why ppl comes here, lots of walking but very little to see. Animals are placed in very far from each cage to other. Takes a lots of walking and affort, and they have some kids rides , but all are very highly price. Will not go there again to visit and dont recommend wasting money.

Hao Lyu

Super-dupe crowded!!! But very fun place!

Craig DeWaele

Over all great experience but the staff only seemed to be around the entrance and washroom we terrible.

Paco Archi

Huge I mean huge zoo. Plan a day trip. Large variety of animals and species. They are famous for being the only zoo in the world that have white African lions in captivity . They are stunning. The zoo is well kept the animal have large spaces to roam very family oriented Tex they all kind of activities going on and they have a large parking and dedicated bus stops by every 30 min to bring you to the nearest subway station worth visiting

MissFabulous Clara Blossom

We didn't get to see some of the animals and if they longer exist, visitors should be on the know as to the reason why!!! The lions, giraffes, elephants, slots, and many more wasn't on site ????

Hayley Gauvin

Beautiful animals!

Maggie Thornton

Having visited other cities the TO Zoo is way better

Vitalii Dmytruk

Great zoo! With great infrastructure! Parking isn't free, you will know it when you leave the parking, but only 12$, so didn't waste impressions after the visit

Kay Kay

Staff were amazing. If you are visiting toronto make sure you visit the toronto zoo

Mitchell Melanson

Recently took the family. We booked using the City Pass which made the check in super easy. There was no line and parking was quite affordable at $14. The Zoo has many signs up to help with social distancing especially within enclosed areas and tons of hand sanitizer stations which was great. Of course some people don’t follow that but it was great to see the Zoo putting the measures in place. Great first visit for my son. Lots of places to sit and take breaks and places to buy food or drinks. Directional signs are everywhere and the map is very clear to understand. Any areas were there were no animals in enclosures the zoo put up signs to let you know if they are in different habitats. Great visit!

Michael Davidson

This is definitely one of the biggest zoos I've been to so be prepared to walk (or get the Zoo Mobile). Lots of animals here and lots of nice scenery. Come early in the day to make sure you get a chance to see everything you want to see. Definitely recommended (especially on the City Pass!)

Eldho Paul

Best 11k ive ever had. The new tiger cub Mila was very charming.

Angela Jaskot

I have not been to the Toronto Zoo since I myself was a child. Returning as an adult (without a child) is still just as fun as the Zoo brings out the child in all of us. Many of the exhibits indoors were unfortunately closed due to covid …

Srikkie Srikkie

Extremely large and well planned and spread out zoo. Amazing variety of animals and birds. Children friendly environment. Lot of joints for food and beverages within the campus. Be ready to spend 6-7 hours of your time. There are multiple parking lots around the zoo area. Summers are best time to visit.

Kyle Gredt

My family and I loved it. We went on a fairly hot day so I was expecting most of the animals to be hiding in the shade but to my surprise they were almost all out and looked very happy and playful. We saw every single major animal with the exception of the cheetah and the hyena. Despite a dopey employee at the Gorilla Climb attraction my kids really enjoyed climbing around high above the zoo right after watching the gorillas doing the same only a few meters away. If you are visiting Toronto and are planning on visiting the major attractions buy the Toronto City Pass and you will save around 30%.

Very good

Billy Jr. Goco

We got a membership this year and I can say it's definitely worth it! There's a lot of places to explore and animals to see. My son absolutely loves it everytime we go. With the membership, there's no rush to go around the whole Zoo in one day. The Zoomobile is also "free" for members to ride anytime. We live less than 15 minutes away so we can go often and maximize the membership.

Khalil Ullah

Always a great time. Bought a pass last year before lockdown and it was great. Sometimes only saw two or three other people in a day-it was fantastic. This year, all that had changed and it's super busy again, but still a great time.

Roshan Perera

Toronto Zoo! Great place to see the rest of the world! Beautiful Creatures creatures!

Wandering Wookie

Truly had an amazing experience with my loved ones! Came down during Labor Day weekend and the weather was perfect. Managed to catch the feedings of the polar bears and hippos - both were truly a delight. My favourites were probably the polar bears and the raccoons. The otters were adorable too. They loved to show off and do tricks in the water. I really appreciate the volunteers this zoo has. Very friendly and informative and you can certainly tell the staff are passionate and care about their jobs. The only thing semi-critical I have to say is that the Canadian Domain is QUITE steep. Definitely be prepared for a hilly area compared to the rest of the park. That hill is something else! Also, the whole entire Africa area was truly something - we especially enjoyed watching the hyenas get excited, especially near the small children. Another thing - Smoke’s Poutinerie ran out of cheese curds? All good though. All in all this zoo is spectacular. Looking forward to coming back with the exact same people, year after year.

Ana Carolina Zambrano

My family and me went to the Zoo during the summer it was great experience, it's big place so you must need a full day or more to see it all, very nice trip with family and friends!

Kevin Verberk

Make sure you have a lot of energy if you want to cover the whole thing in one day! There is variety of animals, and the bird show was both informative but very exciting and entertaining as well! The giraffes were my favorite! Pros: huge variety, CAA deal, good souvineer shops, adequate washrooms, focus on environmentalism with their waste policy and decor, decently accessible. Good parking too ???? Cons: decent food variety (incl. Beyond meat burger!) but it's kind of overpriced.

Chad Daley

It's a zoo. Lots of variety of animals. Animals have adequate areas to stay, which is good for them but bad for visitors because they're sometimes hard to find; that's a good thing!

Alan Czajkowski

Went to go see the evening immersive experience Terra Lumina. Would recommend.

Umang Vyas

Not impressive, as some of the attractions and animals are closed due to covid or season. I paid full $28/each for party of 6 plus 2 kids and we all are disappointed. Calgary/Edmonton has better Zoo compared to this even rides are free there but not here. Also parking cost you $14 per vehicle. Money grabbing.

Megan Fraser

Amazing place to take kids of any age. Just be ready to walk! A day trip to see just about any animal you could want :)

Patrick Yau

Great place to take kids for the summer. Be sure to get the season pass with the parking pass. Going >4 times will make your money worth it. They also have a splash pad. Lots of fun. Lots of learning opportunities here.

Stephen Horne

We have been there many times but there is always something new to see. We took our three grand kids and were there for nine hours (and we didn't see everything).

Rebecca Edwards

Lots of great places and animals to see. You need 2 days to see it all

Mahejabeen Kousar

Huge zoo with variety of excellent animals. White lion couple, Panda, gorilla, cheetah, spider monkeys, polar bear, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, birds, panther, Train, splashpad, etc. You need at least 5 - 6 hours to see it complete.

Kwon

Not impressed with this zoo. We were there in October and a lot of the attractions were closed with some animals nowhere to be seen. The ones we did see seemed miserable. The poor polar bear was in a tiny concrete enclosure and looked very unhappy. The same for the giraffes. Such a shame. The whole zoo seemed very untidy as well.

Dar lene

Loved going here...animals are well taken care of

E B

Had a great time at the zoo. Some areas were closed, but we covered most of the zoo and got to see lots of animals! Those complaining about why the zoo is requiring vaccinations - it is because there are indoor areas where you are in a confined space very close to other people. Otherwise, it was clean and there were not a lot of people when we went.

Just Somrndmguy

Great place wish there was a way to interact with the animals though

Tony Tonytheg78 G

One of the most beautiful and humble Zoo I have ever seen. Go there and support the Toronto Zoo Now!!! Great birthday present ever..

Guy Bridgmohan

Such a fantastic place. Attended the Zoo in the Winter and despite it being cold and not many animals being outside, the Zoo atmosphere itself was still a beautiful welcome. The walks between attractions in the Winter could feel longer than that of Summer due to the quietness of both people and animals outdoor, but the walks were very much enjoyable. That cold icey fresh air is the best. We were able see to lots of animals more so in the indoors. The staff is very friendly and the Keepers have scheduled times to talk more on the animals they watch over. Nothing is free. Parking is $12 which should have been included in the price of the ticket. The food can be expensive! A slice of pizza, two orders of fries and two bags of chips hit us at $30. Altogether, it's the Zoo! I would highly recommend visiting anytime of the year, though Summer is obviously the best time. Sometimes I wish I could spend more time around the animals than of the humans in the city!

Taylor McCready

So happy we bought a membership this year! We have been twice this past summer and enjoyed our time immensely. Can’t wait to go back for some winter fun.

Hans Montoya

Animals looked happy and well. Great to visit anytime throughout the 4 seasons. Be aware that mommy gorilla is pregnant and is due on June 2018 so you can visit the baby. The polar bears and the otters were very playful.

Sylvia Rhodes

Expensive, but a nice place to take the family.

Sofia Martimianakis

The best attraction in Toronto. Great way to get 20,000 steps while having a blast and seeing hundreds of animals. The Kids Zoo is fantastic. Don't miss the Keeper Talks, they're very informative!

Sandra

Lots of fun for entire family

Kiran Bhatia

Loved it, but some animals were missing due to covid. There is splash park too to enjoy

Luna Liu (Lunaismoon)

Great experience and amazing staff. They helped us to open the door every time. And I suggest visitors follow the COVID-19 rule please, I saw so many visitors not wearing a mask. Anyways, the zoo is fantastic and definitely come back!

Daniel

Full day adventure, lots of animals and a action packed day for sure..

Joanne Lyon

It is a ridiculously steep hill to climb up after seeing the grizzly bears..they have to put some sort of escalator in for such a climb. Other than that it is an awesome place

Geoffrey Hosein

Toronto Zoo is such a magical place esp for the kids..can not say how wonderful this place is..come for yourself and be immersed in great work they do for all animals here and those that aren't. Best place to spend quality time with your family or even by yourself. Buy a zoo pass and become a frequent visitor and supporter of this place..great staff and volunteers help make this place even more special. Save an animal shoot a poacher????

Lindsay Collie

Love this place and prices are very reasonable.

Paula Pequegnat

I've been to the zoo every year and always enjoy just wish it was a bit bigger

Paula Pequegnat

Went to the zoo during COVID, we love to go in the fall as the animals are very active and its generally less busy. This year was even better. Great safety measures taken by the zoo. Quiet, we had the opportunity to see most of the animals up close because there were no crowds. Amazing volunteers, knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to answer my daughters 1000 questions.

Mr L wiseman

Its an okay place forfamily. The price can add up quick if you have alot of ppl

darkestangel1973

Had a great time but was unable to book the zoomobile due to covid restrictions.

JUMI KIM

Great time to get some fresh air during quarantine but most of animals were hiding in the facilities so I could see tiny head of giraffe and horses butt can't even see lions and monkeys But 100%you would see flamingoes in great view

Paul Pannozzo

Waited 25 minutes in line which was slow moving. Many of the exhibits were closed. Hard to see animals. 2 hour wait for Pandas - should be reserved by time slots. It was at least 4 years since I last visited and probably will be another 20 the next time I go back.

Michelle Rae

An annual trip I've been taking with my children since they were born. The Toronto Zoo never disappoints. This year, our 17 month old had the "first-time" experience and had a blast. She was mesmerized with the different species of animals. Her favorites were the goats, flamingos and giraffes. I believe if we lived closer to the Toronto area, this trip would be a more frequent one. Since we've last attended, there are new rides, more food options and a few different animals. We also took advantage of the Splash Island as it was a warm day. This was a great way to end the trip after a long walk through the park. As usual our trip ends by a stop at the souvenir shop. This year, the girls picked a sling sloth, and a rino. I always love my trip, and always get excited to go to the Toronto Zoo. Always a wonderful, family experience.

Francisca Hormazábal

It is a great zoo, very large, the animals have space at least to walk quietly. You find different types of animals even I found a Lynx, which is in extinction. You need all day to tour it. If you go with children you must take a car, maybe you can rent at the entrance.

Hay Upadhyaya

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the zoo because many animals were not there to see. ***Zoomobile’s tickets can be purchased from the entrance only for $9*** Zip lining is closed but other activities are available. You also have to pay the parking fees at admission. Canadian Domain is simply not worth going for as it’s a long walk and there are many animals that can not be seen.

Danika Lebeau

Awesome zoo ! Took us 3h30 and we didn't saw all the animals.

Sumit Kumar

Toronto zoo is very well designed. They have divided it among regions like Africa, America, Australia and so many other. They have 2-3 types of tigers which I liked. They have polar bears and wolves which I was expecting. Overall they have a nice collection. Lot of food trucks and other restaurants.

Samantha Hatt

I always love going to this zoo and my son had fun. He learned as much as a 6-yr-old can, he loved using the map and signs to find his way, and guessing what animals tracks he was seeing. I know those old painted tracks on the path aren't needed anymore, but if you ever get a chance to touch them up, kids love them. The staff are so friendly and helpful in every area we visited. The gift shop was a great place to get some souvenirs and we can't wait until our next visit!

Radamir

My friend classified this as a cool zoo, or should I say, rad zoo. Never gonna do that again.

Shawn Todd

It's an incredible and interesting place. It's magical to see so many animals and species in such a great location. A great job by staff, and the animals are all well cared for. I'm not giving it five stars only as I feel that some of the facilities are in need of an upgrade and some more modernization. Aside from that, a beautiful place we love visiting

A M

Always a good time at the zoo. Just a shame that the pavilions are still closed. Otherwise I actually love that there are timeslots as it makes the zoo less crowded and a much more enjoyable experience!

Jaspal Singh

Had an amazing time at the Toronto Zoo. The animals were beautiful and each of them have their own history and personality. They feed animals in front of you and give you a lot of facts about the species. There’s a restaurant and a food truck. The staff is friendly and the prices are competitive as well. I recommend !

Jaspal Singh

Up to 10 min

Da Ria

Great place for all family members, you can walk on one way road through all zoo. All animals look healthy and active. Safe place for all family: social distancing, hand sanitisers everywhere, time slot based reservations for visiting the zoo. All washrooms are open. There are a lot of tables for picnics, you can bring your own snacks. No train ride option right now, only walking. The splash pad is a bonus for families with small kids.

Beau Bomberry

Even with small restrictions during reopening it is still a world class zoo and a great time every visit

Ken Ling

Animals gets lazy during hot days. Still a great place to visit with family.

Peter J. Harris

Always a great time visiting the Zoo. We have family pass plus parking. Great value and allows for a quick visit anytime...

Anon Reviews

Awesome place to spend the day with the family

Vi Ferreira

Happy to see this place open again. Mask are still recommended and the zoo does a good job keeping things safe. The water park will come in handy for the little ones this summer for sure. Great experience for all ????

Amar nath

Amazing place to visit. You will find different wild cultures and animals. Loved it.

Yanina Kanevsky

I love the Toronto Zoo. But I always think it's way too big for young children. Do plan your visit well or you will end up with grumpy overtired kids.

Stephanie Strom

All of the animals are great If you are traveling with kids there are amazing volunteers, knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to answer 1000 questions of your kids. People were respecting physical distancing and masks. And was a very relaxing visit seeing lots of animals.

Nickolas

Maybe I wasn't there the exact time. But some remarkable animals were far from our sight and we didn't have the chance to see them or to see them properly. such as Rhino, Grizzly bear and moose. But it's a nice place all in all.

Wanderlust

Great place to visit. They take precautions and it's clean and well organized.

Gurbinder Singh (Harry)

Great place for family fun. You need a whole day to see the complete zoo. Food is little expensive. Overall my kids had lot of fun.

Nicolas Maria

Very nice. Fair prices. Nice staff.

Manu Jeevan Prakash

Good maintenance. The only thing is that you have to walk a lot to see the animals.

Thia Rasiah

Been going to the zoo for the past two years, almost every weekend. It's become a place where I go to take my mind off things. All animals are well taken care of. Our zoo is truly amazing, and I hope to be supporting it, supporting the animals, supporting the workers, for a very long time.

Angela Alburei

The Toronto zoo was so much fun! I went to the late night day, and there were plenty of animals to see. You could easily spend the whole day here, and everything is clean and easy to find using the map. There are food places available as well if you get hungry. The parking isn’t very expensive and we found a spot easily. All of the attractions have signs explaining facts about the animals which I found very nice.

Ismail Hariff

Love it. Absolutely beautiful animals. I recommend all families to visit as much as they can.

Mehdi Najafi

It was great. Not crowded

Peter Phu

Toronto Zoo is great for family outings. Your also allowed to bring in lunches in the park. This is also a great place for exercise as it has alot of grounds to trek with different elevations and steep hills. The Canadian domain has one of the steepest hill, so be wary if you are pushing strollers. Also bring lots of water & comfortable shoes. Went when there was limited capacity. Still had a good amount of people but it wasn't shoulder to shoulder bumping into people. The splash pad is a limit of 200 ppl capacity per time slot per hour . An hour of time was plenty to cool off. We enjoyed the time at the zoo. Also the animals may be sleeping or hiding in the back.

Andrew Brown

Many exhibits and cages were empty an 12 for parking...

Gemma Jones

This is a lovely big zoo and it takes a lot of time to walk around it. However, despite all the space some of the animal and bird enclosures are pitifully small. As a result some of the animals show signs of stress such as pacing up and down and the birds do not have sufficient space to fly. It seems the enclosures are designed more to allow people to see the animals rather than to give the animals a good quality of life. Also, the zoo is not laid out in a logical, easy to follow order so you need to double back on yourself a lot to avoid missing things.

Gloria Chan

I visited a week ago on a cold and rainy day, so it wasn't crowded. Most people were there for the pandas and they are very cute. Lots of information about them and volunteers at info booths before you get to the enclosure. Signage: keep the paper map handy because some areas aren't marked very well. Education: newer exhibits have a lot of info, older exhibits have very little. As a zoo, I think education is more important than entertainment value. Yes, it's interesting to see rhinos, penguins, and giraffes, but it's important to learn about them too. Otherwise, might as well go to a natural history museum. Time: I spent the whole day here and saw almost everything (except the Canadian area). You can probably visit 1-2 areas in half a day. Facilities: many washrooms and rest spots nearby every exhibit. Food: I went on the weekend and there weren't many choices. I'm glad I packed lunch. Overall: fascinating but needs an upgrade.

Mike White

Animals have too many places to hide which make the long distances between irritating.

Audrey

Nice zoo. Animals seem happy and well treated.

Gabriel Velásquez

This place is amazing, it is extremely large, so you must go early if you want to see all the animals. You can touch the camels, see the pandas, and much more. There is food and coffee on the premises. I recommend you grab a map at the entrance so you do not get lost.

Victoria Young

Felt very safe and fun! The weather held up nicely for us, and there were tons of sanatization stations around. Some of the water bottle refill stations weren't working but other than that everything was great. Can't wait to go back when more of the zoo is accessible, i.e. the pavilions and zoomobile!!

Patty Cooper

Great experience with my granddaughter but very expensive

Zoe Leonard

The zoo is one of my absolute favourite places to visit! Whether you're there for a great walk, to see a bunch of different animals or to learn about conservation and fun facts, it's a great place to go with friends, family, or just yourself. They really care about every single animal and are very strong in their goal of raising awareness and supporting important conservation efforts.

Cheryl Brownell

Such a wonderful zoo! Animal are healthy and we'll cared for. The place is clean and staff is friendly and informed.

Mark Orsini

TO zoo is awesome as always but need more exhibits and some of the bigger animals seem depressed and alone in their cages.. like the cougar polar bear, the tiger near the entrance of the zoo. And seemed to be a lot of empty exhibits..but still enjoyed myself..

Suneta Chatterjee

It's nice to know that Zoo authorities are doing a fabulous job maintaining the upkeep of the Zoo and the animals as well maintaining the landscape so superbly.

Lost Traveler

One of the best zoos we have visited. Offers wide varieties of species and is a feast to eyes watching these exotic animals. Grizzly, polar bears, reptiles, birds, aqua species and many more will have the kids occupied throughout the Zoo. Well maintained by staff and we would definitely visit again when we get a chance.

Lost Traveler

30–60 min

Reem Taghleb

Very bad. They dont have animals anymore. So expensive for what? No animals. You just go there to walk walk walk.

Arnab Banerjee

A very nice place for a day-out with children. Pretty well managed and nicely categorized. Though it’s not free, parking is very easy. Rental for pull-carts etc. are very convenient. Cafe and seating areas are nice to have snacks with additional discounts for food for members. However, a small suggestion for management, we visited in mid July 2021 and found the zoo was very very crowded. Crowd management and social distancing measures should be better till we reach a less risky time.

Andrew A

Best place to support animal conservation in Toronto; plus it never gets tiring to smile when seeing or spotting a resident species! Hopefully the place will be buzzing again . . . not with bees but with vendors and the sound of the zoomobile to hop on and off! September 2021 felt a bit like a ghost town and getting a snack is a matter of packing food with you!

Tabitha M

Great place to take family and friends especially in the summer time. I recommend going earlier. It’s less busy, cooler, and you can get some great pics without the crowds that collect later in the day. I usually visit all the pavilions and it takes me about 6 hours. It’s also a great workout! If I could, I’d go every weekend.

Walid Sabri

Great place to take family and children

Daniel St. Pierre

Loved the animals..very large spaces to roam

Pushkar Verma

I must admit it’s a huge park to cover all the exhibits even if you take ZooMobile and a lovely day out for family, kids, adults alike. I have been visiting the Zoo once every year for the past three years now. If you are at a good fitness level I recommend to walk and explore the Zoo. The staff is jovial and demonstrate an animal in such a sophisticated manner that visitor intently listen to the facts and they also encourage questions from kids. The best part is they refer mammal by names and explain their day’s life in conjunction with them. The feeding time is published well in advance to plan your visit. The Zoo has few sections consisting of the indigenous animals from various parts of the world. At the Zoo you will witness hunters such as Cheetah, Jaguar, White tiger; extreme terrain animals such as Snow leopard, Polar bear, Double hump Camel; climbers like mountain goat, Orangutan; beasts such as gorillas and grizzly bear; numerous birds, aquatic mammals and reptiles as well as the endangered species such as bengal tigers and single-horn rhinos. Near the entrance the Zoo has a big splash park near the entrance to keep the kids engaged and Toronto souvenir shop. There are snacks centre all around the park so no need to worry about food and equally numbered sitting spaces with shades to relax during hot summer days. I got free admission to Toronto Zoo through pass being offered to the Toronto library members We miss the giant panda exhibit which used to be the main attraction until the gentle animal was shifted to Calgary in the year 2017. The passers-by used to get transfixed watching the playful panda, eating bamboo shoots. Added photos from my recent visit in 2021, it is always an amazing place to visit.

Tyms 28

It is an amazing place to spend your day with animal-loving family members or friends. The zoo staff really do a wonderful job taking care of the animals and plants with their conservation efforts. My family and I always leave happier than …

Fozzie Bear

Great experience! Get a behind the scenes look at some of the animal life.

lorne mulrooneyLast

Best zoo in canada by far

Paul Young

Season pass holder at a reasonable price. Never a bad day at the zoo.

Rob Deneau

Amazing experience today with the park. Exhibits were super active for my nephews. Short wait time for the Gorilla Climb Ropes course. Only disappointment was quality of food service provided by Compass Group. Poor quality food; slow service; overpriced without justification of the price and disappointing and disconnecting attitudes from staff. Will be back for the zoo again; definitely not for the food.

Alexis W

Great exhibits, friendly staff, fully accessable!!! Couldnt ask for more!

david Sultawy

Beautiful and big zoo! Worth the money. It's not at all expensive and takes a minimum of 4hrs, so half day to Enjoy the experience

brian keeping

Some things were closed. Lots of the food trucks were closed. Wasn't the best time.

Madison Blanchard

we'll taken care of and a great family place

Darrell Eldridge

I didn't get to see all of the exhibits. Very nice Zoo though.

Col Maz

It was nice but it would have been nicer if the zoo mobile was not sold out couldn't see everything we wanted to. We wanted to use the zoo Mobility to get around since we both have a hard time getting around with our walker. We only could do a little less then half. I don't know how it was sold out so easily in the morning . The sign said sold out in some place and in other it said the ticket machine was out of order.

Sarah Bechard

Walking, walking and more walking. It was cold and windy during our visit, and many of the animals were not on display, or their exhibits were being renovated. However, we managed to catch a few of the zoo keeper talks, which were super informative. We happened to visit during Gorilla week, and it was excellent to hear how the zoo supports worldwide organizations in efforts to conserve wildlife and habitats. Many of the food vendors were still closed for the season. Expect to pay a little extra for food. I always expect items to be overpriced. But the food was hot, fresh and tasty. If you're feeding a large group, pack a lunch! There are lots of areas for picnics. Make sure you bring a wagon (or you can rent one there). We didn't get to see everything on our visit (this was our first time there) but a return trip is definitely on our wish list.

Tony Liao

Good place to take the kids in summer. Kids can learn a lot from the zoo. They even have a splash park for the kids. They have the panda for 5 years but now it's in Calgary zoo. All staffs I encounter in zoo provided great services with smiles. Entrance fee is not expensive but the $9/person for the train go around the zoo is bit too much. Same price for all ages.

Joe Poitras

It was a very hot day but they do have lots of places to cool down if needed

Michael Busse

Great Zoo. Been many times. Lots to see. The grounds are clean and safe during these times. I enjoyed seeing the Rhinos. Will be donating to the zoos new exhibits being built. Enjoy the day!

kaza koko

What a waste of money. Useless place. These poor animals needs to be set free. I can't believe I wasted $29 on this crappy place. Ugh

Justin Massia

The animals are fantastic and pretty cool when you can see them up close. Great for small children especially when you do a little bit of background on the animals. They're going to see. There's lots of food and drinks almost anywhere you …

Rive Rousseau

Had an amazing time at the Toronto Zoo. The animals were beautiful and each of them have their own history and personality. They feed animals in front of you and give you a lot of facts about the species. There’s a restaurant and a food truck. The staff is friendly and the prices are competitive as well. I recommend !

Kristina

Did the Terra Lumina. Great experience. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Clean park and plenty hand sanitizing stations.

Alvaro Montenegro

Fun for the family splash pad is great for the little ones

Robert Grant

Ordered tickets in the parking lot. Got right in,barely any lineup. It was hot and all the animals were pretty tired.

Robert Van Tassel

Excellent place to visit. There is so much to do and see. Plus they have an amazing splash pad. We live in Ottawa and we bought season passes because it is such a great place to visit.

Kelly Burke

Amazing place to enjoy a great day or weekend with your family, with your kids or with your friends. The place is really big, My advise is to get early and be prepared to walk a lot. This is the only zoo where I saw you can lend wheelchairs …

wyatt wustrau

Loved it. Wish there were more exhibits open during the off season, but was so happy to see everything that I did see. It was a lot of fun walking around and just viewing the critters and there habitats I so want to go again during peak season :))

Sumaiya Murshed

Toronto zoo is always crowded. Good for kids specially, you will find many activities too like Zipline, zoomobile, different restaurants, picnic spot, water splash for kids, kids zoo etc. We went with our baby. You need to walk a lot so keep up your energy before going. Take lots of water and food if you dont want to buy. I think the entry ticket price is a bit costly, it took $64 for two adults and an infant.

Sumaiya Murshed

Nice place to go have a walk and see some animals. Can be busy so going during the week can help. Recommend the membership and parking pass as they are the best bang for the buck.

George Edelstein

I found it overpriced and not like it was when it first opened with open spaces for the animals. Many were confined and subjected to people yelling at them and pounding on glass, etc. I left feeling sad for the animals. I have a better idea of why Bob Barker lobbied successfully to move elephants to a better and more humane environment in California.

ALICE Z

All time favorite. Spent great time with my little girl.

Kevin Difran

Great place to bring kids, we always have fun here and it's easy to see everything even with all the parking lots are full.

Emil Pironkov

First off, I'd like to suggest that you prepay and get your pass online if you're going during peak season as the line up on weekends can be an hour. It isn't cheap but you will easily spend about 4 hours there. Its alot of ground to cover and its also great exercise for the family but come prepared. Washrooms are conveniently located through (although not necessarily very clean). The animals can be a bit of hit or miss, assuming many like to hide in the shade or some have big areas to wonder.

Jamie Zabarte

It was a great day, good visit. All the animals we wanted to see were sleeping so that was disappointing. It was a hot day when we went and we definitely noticed there was not enough shaded areas to sit or rest for a bit. The bus took too long to board where some instances people were staying on so we couldn't get on. Long waits and again the waiting areas didn't have enough shade to sit under. There were water filling stations but the water wasn't good and tasted like pipes. When we tried to purchase vitamin water it was wayyyyyy expensive from the vending machines was $4 - $4.50 each which was ridiculous. It was a good experience. Might do it again just to see if we plan our visit better if we would have a different experience.

mujeeb shams

They don't really treat the animals fairly. Some of the animals looked so skinny, and in such tiny cages. Mky first and last time ever. Oh and the panda line up alone was about 2 hours wait.

Julie Webb

A fantastic zoo. We love going there. Beautiful animals and a very large variety.

Julie Webb

Went to the zoo during COVID, we love to go in the fall as the animals are very active and its generally less busy. This year was even better. Great safety measures taken by the zoo. Quiet, we had the opportunity to see most of the animals up close because there were no crowds. Amazing volunteers, knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to answer my daughters 1000 questions.

JP

We had an amazing time at the Toronto zoo. We saw two live peacocks at the peacock cafe which was a nice surprise. Animals seemed like they were treated well, and appeared comfortable and happy. The timed tickets were also great for social distancing. We paid $20 for the Tundra air lift ride and that was shorter than we expected so we wouldn’t recommend that but everything else was great.

scott mackie

Winter is the best time to go as there are fewer people and the animals tend to roam more in the colder temperatures so the pictures are easier to get.

shweta wagware

Need full day to cover the zoo. Good place to enjoy with family !

Simone Black

Great place to take the kids! the wild encounter was so much fun for my little girls. They loved the penguins, such an unforgettable experience. I didn't like how the arctic animals looked so uncomfortable in the heat...poor things.

P

This is the only attraction in Toronto that could possibly get a 5 star review from me. Prices are creeping up, but still great value for your money. Lovely park full of tons to see and do, and fantastic staff and volunteers.

Hartley Blumenfeld

Love visiting the zoo. It’s such a nice place to walk around. You really feel like you are escaping the city. Just a warning, If you plan to go to the Canadian exhibit make sure you are in good shape.

Wenfang He

We went zoo many times this year . Let toddler enjoy outside . He love the zoo mobile

melanie crafter

Had a great day at the zoo. Weather was not good so alot of animals were in their dens. Its nice with less people

Victoria

Beautiful place to visit with family, if you like picnics you can bring your own food. There are some animals free like peacock. The only thing that didn't like me is that I walk a lot to see some animals and when I was finally there they were sleeping in a hidden place so I can't see them well. I understand that they need to sleep but it was a little sad for me. As an advise wear sneakers and some comfortable clothes because you are going to walk a lot is a big place.

Christopher Haase

Did the tour twice in one week, had a blast.

Roshan Mohamed

One of the best attractions for children in Toronto. City passes are currently not available. Parking has to be paid separately and it's $14 per vehicle. Better to go in the morning so that the whole day can be spent and all areas can be covered. The city of Toronto library has started issuing free passes again. Try to go early morning so that you will have enough time to relax and enjoy the place. Some of the exhibits are closed due to COVID restrictions

Leslie Louie

A lot of pavilions wee still closed and most exhibits are under renovation so some animals weren't out. Those that were out, they were far away and hard to see. So its just okay. My daughter and I went on a nice day so atleast we got to go out and enjoyed the weather.

Mitch M

1/4 of animals were not available to see. 1/4 of the pavilions as well as food and drink stations were not open. Some areas had garbage laying around. The worst thing I seen was when an employee tossed a watermelon into the polar bear enclosure. The Melon had a massive sticker on it that was the size of my hand.. the bear ate it. I asked an employee why they allowed that and she said "well there is nothing we can do now". Other than that, the zoo was a fun filled day with many things to do and see.

Ivan MO

Great place for kids, lot of things to see and watch. Splash pad is open but due to COVID reservation and wristband is required.

Soroosh R

Extremely scenic. Beautiful nature. Meticulously designed which made pavilions similar to the habitat of those species. The reason I did not give that one star is CANADA habitat was so far from others and there is no transportation to that area. They should provide so e sort of transportation for long walks especially for seniors.

R C

Really enjoyed the zoo, however the Canadian animal section needs a ton of work. The Cougar, Lynx and Raccoon enclosures are completely insufficient (I've worked with these species for over 25 years) and the Lynx enclosure in particular smells very bad, which shows that the animal living there is under distress. A Lynx in the wild would never live in such an environment.

Mike Dickey

Fun time

Denis Castellanos

Is being l a while, last time I was here was when I was a kid , this time I brought my kid with me and we had an amazing time, it is a really big place so make sure you bring comfortable shoes and lots of water. Food can be pricey here you are allowed to bring in outside food, you need a couple days to view the whole thing but with one day you can get to see a lot of animals. Lots of indoor exhibitions which is nice to see. There are a few rights that you can go on but they're not included you have to purchase tickets for it which are expensive, I'm of the opinion that it should be included on your admission. Parking have to pay separate $12. For those who want to look for a discount go to Ontario attractions and search for Toronto Zoo you can get a 10% coupon there.

Anju Gowda

I loved the zoo but they should have better navigation boards. It’s hard to understand where the animals are and which way to go. We got lost following the map and signs, later just started following the crowd. It is a very good exercise because zoo is in a very big field. If you cannot walk much and don’t like to go for a ride to see the animals then it is not for you. Kids will love it for sure. Some places stink a lot, those places must be cleaned as kids more than adults visit the zoo. I have given 4 stars just because I could not locate all the animals because of bad navigation signs or no signs. Quite a few spots have pungent smell.

Alexis Daiter

Love the zoo. We went in March. It was a little cold. Didn't bother us really it was kinda nice the zoo wasn't so busy. A lot of the animals were indoor which we could still see. But we really wanted to see the grizzly bear and moose and apparently the bear was in hibernation and the moose was not visible. Which was totally fine. But it would have been nice to have a sign saying that before we walked all the way down there and back which took about 45 minutes out of our trip.

Ryan Sim

I had amazing find memories. I went midweek in September and was shocked to find out all the restaurants were closed. Listen if you reduce the amenities how about a reduction in admission too? Or at least free parking as you're in the middle of nowhere. I did see a monkey throw poo so it wasn't a waste of a day.

Barkus Tyler

The pandas leave sometime next year... see them well you can!

Travis Stirrat

Zoo is open again and still crowded even if tickets are booked online. But every one was trying to follow rules by keeping distance. Cold drink dispenser was disaster and even with 2/3 attempts given some odd drinks. Simba lodge restaurant was out of burgers and had hotdogs, chicken tenders and fries only. I did not try other eateries so not sure about them. But its better to carry some fruits or food by yourself as it has plenty of open sitting area to eat.

Kelly Kelly

The zoo was lovely and it had a large selection of animals from around the world. This was my first time at the Toronto zoo and I really enjoyed it, it was much larger than I expected and I got to see many animals, our favorite was the hyena. The only downside was that I wished there were more info graphics available to learn more about the animals. But overall, we had a very pleasant experience.

Kirthiga C

A very good zoo but too crowded.

Mark DLR

Great time with the family. Wear comfy shoes. Reserve your slot online. Some exhibits and most food places closed because of pandemic - see my screenshots below. Have fun and tell Charles the Silverback I say what’s up.

S Hanson

Nice place to explore. Bring your walking shoes!

Dan Larocque

Lots of walking without seeing very many animals as they're all hidden

RRG Local

Don’t waste your time if you just want to visit the Christmas Market especially if your not a member. Good to support the businesses there but can’t believe those vendors picked the worst place to market themselves. All truck meals are $25. Famous Tiny Tom’s donut is a premium (Timbiebs way better) Zoo even charges members after 3:30pm for market access. Also stay away from Terra Lumina unless you like to overpay for a light show.

Sandra Seymour

Fun place to go for the family and friends to have a good time and happy they are open

TrickyDog

The Zoo was awesome the kids loved the animals and the splash park. The staff are friendly and the come out with some of the animals to teach people alittle about them. Loved those pandas recommend going and seeing them before the get shipped back to China. The zoo is so big you need the whole day to do everything..

Ash Campbell

In the 90s, my children were young, so as a family we went to the Toronto Zoo frequently. Santa brought them a zoo animal each to be a parent to for a whole year. There were soooo many animals at the zoo, it was incredible. Sadly that has changed. My daughter and I visited the Toronto Zoo in September this year - the first time in 15 years. Now the zoo is more like Noah's Ark - 2 of this animal, 2 of that one. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and won't be going back again.

Chris Eggers

The zoo has really gone downhill in the last year. The food staff are rude and there are always long lines. It is not worth the drive.

Sarah Aziz

Nature is always beautiful and it’s a must visit place. I m giving it 3.7 only because I felt some animals r sad , they are lonely. Animals r playful and it’s good to see them like this. ????Tiger was sad because of tigress.????….anyway Must have water bottle during walk. It’s a long walk. Directions : 85B from Don Mills station.last stop is Toronto zoo. ???? Return: 86 ll drop at shepherd and meadowvale. ????Then from meadowvale loop take 85 to Don Mills.(ohhhhhh google please update ur map)????. Good number of food shop. All r not yet open.

I personally enjoy visiting the Toronto Zoo, as it provides a lot of educational material and many initiatives to explain conservation efforts for wildlife. The location is very big, and so expect to do quite a bit of walking. If you are on a road to your fitness journey and need a big park to walk/run through, this is your place. You can get a membership for the year or the day pass. I got the year membership so i plan on being here quite a few times. On a hot summer day, it may be too hot to see the animals as they would be hiding in the shade to cool down. The food is too expensive so have your own bottles of juice or water

Yvonne Adamo

Stellar world class zoo! Lots to do! Would need more than a day to do it all!

Sarabjot Johal

It was okay not too good not too bad. Not many animals to see.

Jason Stares

Pricing a bit high. Reason I'm saying this is because over half the indoor exhibits were closed. The gift stop had very little adult things. But all in all a great visit.

Cris Needham

Outdoors and not busy! Come and enjoy some exercise for you and your family while seeing some beautiful animals!

Ken Ku

A great place for a family outing. They have staff and volunteers around to answer questions and offer info about the animals that you wouldn't know. Too bad the Zoo Mobile is done for the season. Make sure you are ready for lots of walking and wear comfortable shoes.

Pallavi Joshi

Best place to go and explore the new world. It is very bif and beautiful. You sill provided with proper guide and proper food stations. Loved it. Looking forward to go again for sure .

Avinash Venkataraman

Terra lumina show (night times) is a good get away from the bustling city. It showcases the importance of climate change and how it impacts all of us. The lighting set up will definitely entertain people who have an eye for it.

Vidisha Pandya

Perfect place for weekend????????

xiaomeng ren

I went during covid-19 (2020 Sep 13). Their public health measures were good. All indoor facilities has a staff outside to ensure people are wearing masks. And they always open the exhibit door for you as well. There are arrows guiding people to ensure distancing. Although it's a bit depressing to see animals locked in enclosures, I'm happy to support the zoo, as they play a part in conservation, and educating the youth.

Fathima Hasana

Last week I visited the zoo. It was fun and we had a good time with family members and kids. But one thing I would encourage is to have more animals. The place is huge while there are lack of animals. Hope they could make some arrangement to keep the place more entertaining which will give them a chance to increase the number of audience.

J

It is the one of the largest zoos in the world and has a lot of pavilions to check out on top of the normal viewing system. There are rides and many activities. A must visit place for locals and visitors. Look for the peacocks they have on the loose!

Nida Azeem

Good but few animals were missing

Mario Sherif

Nice day out...safe environment..ample social distancing awareness...no long line ups ...must see

Stephen Savoy

Great place to go and at not a bad price. Lots of walking to do so pace yourself. Food places are open and they only allow so many people in. Also masks must be worn

Olga Kulik

Always enjoyable! Staff is very experienced and passionate!

Sachin Sharma

I love a good zoo and this was certainly a memorable experience. I'll keep adding pictures here. Very large place. I had set aside an entire day and that certainly was not enough. They seemed very clean. The animals I came across seemed happy and everyone there seemed to be having a good time. To help people getting about there is also a transport facility available.

Gowsh Sri

Great experience for the family. The ticketing system online was pretty seamless as was the parking to exit (bought online). The zoo itself is always a fun time, the staff are very helpful, and food, refreshments and washrooms every short distance so no need to worry. Also appreciated the family centre set up for those with babies and toddlers to change, feed, breast feed etc. Ofc the main attraction are the animals and they're all beautiful and seemingly taken care of with love by the zoo staff. A must visit for everyone.

Gaurav Bhatia

Well maintained zoo and animals at their best. Amazing place not just for kids but for adults too. Lot of facilities like trolleys on rent and one can buy tickets for a small train to help take tour of zoo from outer; a guided tour of some animals from outer road of zoo. You can get down and come back on same. Lot of places to sit and eat in between incase one feeling tired and hungry.

Rubi Shroff

I absolute love this place

City Hick

Get a membership and go 3 times it pays for itself. The trolly/train is closed for the season. I seen they have a new electric covered trolly to be used in the future. I posted a sneak peak pic. Glad they moved to electric power. Hope it is goes down to the Canadian domain. That hill is hard for seniors and expecting parents.

JOHN Stevenson

The price for the zoo is alright. But too much land is wasted. Not alot of animals and walking distance from one point to other is painful. It's pretty outdated place for sure. Restaurants and vending machines are very expensive. For a bottle of water you pay $4.50 not premium water of course only Dasani. Overall, it's worth to visit 1 time for life time. Reason is above. Water park is good for kids. Plenty of space. Not happy with my experience.

Anita Wong

We loved the Scenic Safari Drive Thru. It was nice for our family to get out of the house and it was the first time we went anywhere in the car as a family since March break. The kids enjoyed spotting the animals. The podcast was interesting although more information could be added to fill in time.

Dr. Adam J. Lenarcic (AJL)

Lots of fun for everyone. The Africa, and Asia pavilions are very exotic and interesting. But think carefully about doing the long Canada walk. The hill is exhausting. Consider the weather when you go, because if it is too hot or cold, the animals will be less active or hiding indoors.

Mariam B

You'll be excited to see some rare animals such as the snow leopard and red pandas. On the other hand, you'll walk for 3-4 hours in there and it can get tiring. There is zoomobile to transfer you from one section to another but you have to pay for it (not sure how much but it didn't encourage us to use it). BUY TICKETS ONLINE to skip the queues (best thing we did). The zoo is enormous with plenty of animals and living creatures. It was a bit disappointing that the animals I was excited to see were either super far sitting alone OR they were sleeping somewhere that was not very visible. So if you were lucky you'll get the chance to see them. Too bad pandas are no longer there anymore. FOOD: there aren't many options to choose from. We had "Booster Juice" first and it was great and then for lunch we went to "Subway" but it was a terrible experience. First, we waited around 15-20 min even though there were 8 people only in front of us. The staff was super slow and it was obvious people were getting impatient. When our turn came they told us the toaster wasn't working so we couldn't choose what we wanted and had to go with cold cuts. Other than that it is worth visiting once at least but do get your own snacks and drinks. And if you needed to use the bathroom, it will be a long wait. Furthermore, there were many things suitable for kids (kids zoo, tree climbing adventure, splash pool...etc). There are picnic areas as well! Make sure to check the weather before going and take hats with you because most of it is under the sun.

Darlene Spencley

We enjoyed our time at the zoo

Vincent Ashkan

It is a must of you have kids, help the city to care more about wildlife and teach our children, they are very professional and friendly staff, nice and clean environment.

World Famous Marketing

I love going to Toronto zoo as it’s always fun with the kids. There are well kept animals and it’s always a pleasure to see the polar bear show. Summer time is ideal but I heard their holiday market is pretty well done as well so will have to check that out. The rhino exhibit from india really caught my attention, as well as the bird sanctuary they had. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here always (with or without the kids haha) it’s a great place to be

Gerald Smith

Peter Breeden

never been more disturbed. The first stop on my visit was @ the gift store with my kids and for some reason the manager was just walking around like she had a pickle in her backside, both literally and metaphorically. Super rude and unprofessional. More importantly, the animals were emaciated, unstimulated, and a few (grizzly and polar bear especially) would not stop swaying and head bobbing (stereotypical displays of psychosis). Ruined my kids christmas wish the lockdown lasts forever for this place… bad bad bad. Shame.

Caroline Laviolette

We did the terra lumina night walk experience. It was absolutely stunning. Went as a family for outdoor, socially distanced event and everyone from 10yr old to 70yr old were impressed with the light shows and evening walk. Strongly recommend.

Stephen Rose

Always love coming to the Toronto Zoo. Our family always has a great time, lots to do, lots to see, friendly staff, and most of the time ppl obey the new rules.

Amira H

Great fun for the kids! However there were lots of exhibits missing.

Josephine Chung

It is always nice bringing grandchildren to spend one day at the zoo. They usually enjoy walking and watching zoo staff feeding different animals. I always buy yearly entrance tickets.

Dave “Blueshound92” Blueshound

Drive through was spectacular and grandkids loved it

Cheyanna Sammy

I’ve been going to The Toronto Zoo for my entire life and it is my favourite place in the world. For over two decades I’ve seen this amazing facility contribute to conservation efforts and give their animals the best possible care. They are …

Doug Withenshaw

Great family fun

Mohamed Sabaneh

It's a great big zoo, but my advice never visit during the summer or when it's hot, as all animals will be tucked away in their dens. Also, bring with you a backpack with some water ans snacks, it will be very useful when you travel between pavilions.

Jason

We arrived at the zoo around 1pm, since the capacity is limited it was really easy to find a parking spot. Some of the exhibits were closed but we still saw plenty of animals even though it was hot outside. It took us about 4 hours to walk through all the “continents”. Food inside the zoo is a bit overpriced but you can bring your own. We’d recommend bringing your own stroller or renting one if you have little ones, it’s quite a long walk

Geno Jannette

A great zoo to visit with or without kids. Friendly and clean.

S P

The baby pandas are adorable, get there early to avoid a long queue. Reasonable entry prices as well.

Marie-Hélène Potvin

Very disapointed by the Panda attraction. Texts are only in english my family couldnt read and enjoy. Map given by the zoo is not clear and there is an important lack of indications on the site. We got lost couple of time.

Moktadir Kabir

Nice place to bring your family and kids. You have to buy tickets online in advance during this COVID. They have Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza, DQ and some other food shops inside.

Riaz Jiwa

We had the 9 am entry. It was awesome. No lineups, can walk freely when in the indoor exhibits. More time withbthe animals you love without groups of people. Highly recommend early slots

Mike Arnold

So great, wonderful day wandering the zoo

A A

Great place to spend a whole day. There are lots of variety but some of the animals was kept indoors when we went during fall due to the cold

A A

Wonderful zoo, big beautiful spaces for the animals, with lots of information about conservation and how we can ensure these precious creatures are with us for a long long time to come.

Chris Renzella

This place is slipping. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't awesome either. Also TOTALLY not worth the walk to the back of the park for the "Canadian" section

Seth Harris

Had a lot of fun with my family

Yonika Wiputri

Excellent way to spend the day. Had a great time here.

Patrick Dodd

We had a great day at the Zoo. It wasn't too crowded, and volunteers were on hand to ensure that everyone was wearing their mask, especially around the animals that might catch Covid. It's a massive zoo. They have a water station where you may fill up your water bottle. All of the animals appeared to be in good spirits! Mila, the new tiger, is so gorgeous! If at all possible, come early in the morning when the animals are more active before it becomes too hot. Prepare to do a lot of walking and drink plenty of water and juices to stay hydrated. Will definitely ✔ come back again.

Heather Hines

Our day at the Toronto zoo was wonderful. Excellent exhibits, well organized, and so much fun for the kids!

Youry

A nice place but can be better. After having visited the Zoo of Moscow, i didn't feel amazed by the one of Toronto. I was expecting a bit more mainly when paying more. There's a lot of potential; adding the number of animals and species would be great. However, well maintained and you can definitely enjoy your long walk there. Worth visiting.

Mike Kim

Went there with my sister, my mom and my newborn niece. Took about 2 hours to lineup for pandas, and saw the panda for about 30 seconds and left after. If the pandas are sleeping or not visible, etc. from hot weather, wish the workers would tell us what is happening ahead of time, so that we dont waste hours of lineup in hot weather. Havent seen any other animals that day (got tired off waiting for pandas), so i cant really say much more about the place.

Nathalie Spirkoski

No wait

Crystal O

We love the zoo! However, it took forever to get into the park, even with buying advanced passes. It felt slightly crowded given the pandemic. A lot of the food areas are closed which made spotting for breaks a little tricky. Overall the kids had a lot of fun!

Shannon Ritter

Lots of up hill walking. But great place for a day trip.

Sheetal Mali

Zoo is open again and still crowded even if tickets are booked online. But every one was trying to follow rules by keeping distance. Cold drink dispenser was disaster and even with 2/3 attempts given some odd drinks. Simba lodge restaurant was out of burgers and had hotdogs, chicken tenders and fries only. I did not try other eateries so not sure about them. But its better to carry some fruits or food by yourself as it has plenty of open sitting area to eat.

Tristan Rhooms

Great experience for the family! Most of the animals seemed tired but it was great to see so many types of animals from different parts of the world here in Toronto!

Karim El-Sherif

I love going to zoos, and was hoping to give it 5 stars but it doesn't deserve it. Many animals were missing from their shelters (especially in the Africa section). Most of the animals there were asleep, or not visible due to the layout of their shelters. The zoo was taken over by Canada geese. Pandas are cool but you have to wait in line for like 45 minutes and only get to see them for 2-3 minutes. No animal interactions; zoos in other countries let you feed and pet animals. There are more food shops than animals. The bathrooms smell horrible. Free wheelchairs ($5 deposit). 12$ parking. Strollers 8$, double strollers $10.

Morgan Davis-Smith

Exibits are nice and noo has great facilities. Canada exibit is a bit far away soexpect lots of walking. Also most of the animals were sleeping the day we went but it veries from day to day. Fun for the family.

Tanya Rossi

Great zoo. Friendly staff, a great variety of animals. The enclosures are well built and maintained compared to most zoos I've visited. The public areas are clean and well laid out; most areas are also wheelchair accessible. The emphasis on education and conservation is refreshing. We'll be returning.

javieha ash5643

Excellent place for relaxation. recommended!

Alex U

The zoo territory is too big, other than that amazing experience.

Roann A

Always a pleasure to visit Toronto zoo. Animals look like they're being well taken care of, somewhat clean washrooms, okay restaurants, ice cream stands everywhere, very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Lisa Nguyen

It was OK. Only saw white wolves by chance, got to see penguins being fed but they did so indoors in a corner, allowing only 3 small windows for viewing and customers crowding. Had no idea where the cheetahs were in their enclosure and there was no sign to say they're unavailable. Overall it was nice to spend the day walking and seeing everything. Hopefully they add more things to entertain the animals.

Jane Jones

Great place to go and at not a bad price. Lots of walking to do so pace yourself. Food places are open and they only allow so many people in. Also masks must be worn

Noortaz Chowdhury

Such a huge place to explore and very well maintained! A great place to enjoy with your kids. Kids absolutely love the monkeys, gorillas, tiger, giraffe, penguins. Their were wolves and polar bear as well. We walked for 3 hours straight and didn't finish looking into the whole area. People are maintaining social distancing as best as possible.

Wajay Awan

good place to take your kids, go early or get stuck in the line up for at least an hour. washrooms were not very clean.

Brandon Drinkill

Went to see terralumina absolutely beautiful worth the money

Sanmeet Kaur

One of the best things to do during the lockdown especially of the kids like animals. Staff is friendly and careful. You're driving at 5kms/hr. Do it only if you can handle kids in the car for 45 mins without a washroom ...and that does not include travel time to and from the zoo.

anthony farouse

More like 3.5 if I could. I had a pretty good time here with my daughter (age 9). There were still quite a few animals out. This is more than a full day event so plan accordingly. Feeding times are worth it, because then you can see the animal come out and be active. Food is a little pricey and lineups are long. There are some pretty neat things for little kids. Would definitely check it out again seasonally (new animals, changing attractions). It's about 20$/person, so uts up to you if it's worth it or not.

Anna Guess

Zoo closes at 4:30 this time of year. Beavertails are awesome!

Cierra Frank

Lots of walking, but lots too sse! Food stops and places to picnic as well! Loved the hippos! Heheh

Reena Sheres

Lovely, fun experience

David Brisson

It is an amazing zoo...we were there for 2.5 hours and still couldn't finish it. We will be back again for sure

Kevin Leite

Great variety of animals big and small. Zoo is clean and well kept. Distance between certain areas can sometimes be huge. The Canadian Domain in particular is very out of the way and strenuous. I would suggest perhaps adding suggested walking routes to have more efficient visits to the park.

Supa Time

Tried the Zoo Tour and it was okay. Unfortunately, I did not see as many animals as I hoped but it was a hot day. I would have liked to see more refreshments or items being sold ... there were not enough food trucks available. Would like to ensure the ride through was spaced out better.

Kristen Sweeney

This is a great place for a family outing. The animals seemed happy to be there and well cared for. There is a lot of walking and not a lot of benches to stop and sit so comfortable shoes are recommended and if you have small children, you probably want a stroller or wagon for them. The food is overpriced so if you don't bring lunch, be prepared to spend money.

Cassandra Phillips

Really great place to go, I went on Saturday October 2nd, I’m from London and had to drive but it was a good visit. The food was affordable and they had SO many animals I was so excited to see them with our son. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because when I went to go see the gorillas which are my favourite animals the volunteer there was pretty rude to my husband and I. I didn’t see that you had to wear a mask by the gorillas and she snapped at me about it without even explaining why we had to wear our masks outside. Im all for masks and I respect having to wear them however I’m not okay with being talked to rudely when I didn’t see a sign or an explanation when the exhibit is outside. I was so upset I couldn’t even enjoy seeing the gorillas and my spouse and I just left the zoo.

Trish Gale

It's HUGE! What am excellent zoo if not too big to see in a day. Very friendly staff. We took 3 hours and still missed a bit. Would love to see again!

minjoo kang

I brought my son on Tuesday. There were a lot of kids and family due to summer vacation from school. I give three stars because I saw the animals very close which is nice, but polar bear and penguins are very hard to survive in this weather. I wish they can improve facility to keep and better temperature. The day I went was over 30 degrees Celsius and it was over heated on concrete floors. I felt bad for the animals. I won't go back.

joshua lopez

Toronto Zoo was a lovely experience. Definitely the biggest Zoo I've been to. Worth the trip with all the different animals they have.

Terri Hughes

My family and I had a great time at the zoo.my kids enjoyed looking at the animals and walking around:)

Jenna Elward

It was fun. The kids enjoyed the zoo. Lots of walking. If you have younger kids I suggest bringing a stroller or wagon. Also the indoor viewings are warm so we were often taking off our jackets and then putting them back on. Something to store those in helps. The staff were very friendly and at most exhibits. They answered all questions and were great with the kids, even when they were supposed to be taking care of the animals they took the time to stop and answer all the kids questions.

Stephanie M

Always a great time with the kids. My young ones really enjoy the large splash pad and kids area. You definitely need to bring a stroller or wagon because there is a lot of walking between animals. It’s almost impossible to see everything in one day so it’s best to plan before hand the animals you want to see There is also a carousel which my kids love!

cindy gross

The Zoo is OK. I think is over price, it was super crowded. The staff is terrible, we booked 2 wheelchair and they didn't have them, even though we saw the chairs at the rental place, they did not wanted to give us the chairs.

Uchechi Egbuhuzor (Cathy)

The place is really big with different animals.Though the walking is really exhausting,I still enjoyed my visit

Very organic flow, quite inviting and easy to enjoy the animals. Safari tours, One can spend a camping night in the zoo with their children, get an opportunity to feed some animals have prepared meals, too much to mention. Just go and spend the day and take your time. It's also quite educational and eco conscious

All of the animals are great If you are traveling with kids there are amazing volunteers, knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to answer 1000 questions of your kids. People were respecting physical distancing and masks. And was a very relaxing visit seeing lots of animals.

Saqlain Shah

Nice place to spend a holiday there

greg Scherer

Liked very much

Ioana

I had the pleasure to go to the drive through safari. I'm so happy they came up with a great idea on how to keep money coming in to take care of the animals. I had an amazing time, saw a few animals and it was a very wonderful way to get out of the house while staying safe.

Amit Sharma

Great place to take your young kids to. Very educational and tons of fun for them. The splash pad to the right of the entrance is a great place to start if you have young children; especially if you're getting to the Zoo around the noon hour. Good amount of walking gives you the exercise you need for the day. Good Fun!

Boris Skocajic

Great kids zoo and splash pad for kids!

Charity Little

Lots to see and do! Fun day for everyone!

Long Long

Very good zoo. We go every year.

Jake Taylor

Good day all round. Not too packed. Was able to see a majority of the zones. We arrived at 4pm. However transit getting back was a little confusing so prep in advance, not the zoos fault. But could do with some sinage

Sandra Olim

Great place to take your kids

EK 1307

Always so fun for kids!! Well organized and labeled zoo with nice forrest trails. Some pavilions and restaurants were closed...but its a big place so we still got to see lots of different animals... definitely worth it, especially if your kids get excited about animals!!!

Cheyeann M.

Really glad the zoo has opened this weekend. While it sucks the indoor pavilions haven’t opened up yet, I switched my ticket for a reasonably priced student membership so I could go again when they open. Highly recommend getting a student membership (only $20 more than an adult ticket) !!

In the earlier years, my parents took my brother and I to see the animals and species. We spend the whole day and managed to see everything. My father paid the general admission for the 4 of us. They have a fair size parking lot. They did have public washrooms with Wheelchair Accessibles. They also have Wheelchair Accessibles Entrances and parking lots. They had places, that we stopped for a bite to eat and a drink. They had benches, that we can sit down for a break from walking. We were smart to wear comfortable shoes, because there is alot of walking. Later, I did go back to visit with my parent and a friend. We had a good time. There were some changes. Both visits, it was very busy and it was a beautiful warm and sunny day. Also we stopped at the Souvienier shop at the end of the day.

Love this place. Some of the animals areas were a little to small for that type of animal which I didn't like. They have a lot of land they could do more with it. Thought they could reduce their price a bit sense a lot was not open. Their gift shop very expensive but they have a lot of animals to take care of. Well maintained animals look comfortable.

Lemonia Maria

We went for the car visit. It was nice some animals you weren't able to see them either because they were sleeping or weren't on a visibly area at the time of our visit

Skerdi Frashari

The safari drive through is a total rip off. All we saw was a rhino and a few horses. Save yourself the time and money.

Susanne Wong

I've been meaning to check out their night installation of Terra Lumina for some time now and I'm glad I finally made it out! The event begins after sunset and is an interactive outdoor exhibit in a small section of the zoo. Unfortunately parking is not covered under the admission so be prepared to pay an extra $14 for that, I less you arrived by other means. When you first arrive you'll be waiting in the front for a short intro of the walk and what to expect, this also allows the previous group to move through the installations so it's not too crowded. As you walk through the zoo, there's lots of lights and audio that quite stimulating and magical. Some parts felt like a mini rave! It takes about an hour to walk through, maybe less if you're just zipping through it. Near the earlier installations you'll see a good and beverage cart where they'll serve some local brews and even a special drink that was made in collaboration with the zoo! Be sure to wear gloves or bring a beer coozie so your hands don't freeze. I'd definitely recommend this for who those who are contemplating about going! The drive getting there can be a little eerie since there's not many street lights and can get a little foggy in some parts.

Toronto zoo is one fantastic place in Toronto, ON. The staff is so nice and friendly. Best place to lean about the habit & behavior of animals. Its quite huge and great collection of all of the animals. Best place if you wanna spend time your family and great place for children's.

Judith Ardaya

Very clean and organize Zoo.

Sandra Lynsdale

Wonderful zoo! There are multiple different areas and pavilions divided based on geographic location of the animals. They had giraffes, red pandas, lions, tigers, zebras, hippos, polar bears and wolves. Great educational experience and lots to do for young children.

Emily Pearson

I found the zoo pretty fun! Some people said it takes a lot of time but we went through it quite quickly. Our son (3) ran from animal to animal and we were able to see the Africa section, indo-Malaya, tundra and Americas and it only took us …

E AJ

Love it. We were visiting Toronto for 3 days and decided to stop by the zoo . It's huge and so many things to see. You definitely need a day to explore everything. We had fun at the carousel and the kids got Tiger puppets at the gift …

Mauricio Zani

Cool Animals. Lots of walking!

David Clemen

There’s hardly any animals now and the animals that are there look depressed. Tigers for instance need more space. We were watching them get fed and honestly the amount of food they were giving them wasn’t enough. The place is so boring now. It’s not how it used to be like 10 years ago.

Ken C

Love visiting the zoo. Covid protocols cause delays when trying to enter, so give yourself some extra time. Lots of facilities and restaurants weren't open during our visit. But it's great fun for animal lovers and the kids. They each get a little map and pull it out constantly. Overall it's a great experience and definitely worth visiting once in a while. My biggest issue is the Canadian portion. That hill is killer to travel and I would suggest anyone with mobility issues to avoid it or rent the electric scooter for $35. The Canadian portion does not link to other areas, so you have to backtrack up that long steep hill and you'll get a really good leg workout. So if you've been skipping leg day.... Parking is $14 per car. There are also annual passes available, so if you want to support them and go often, it's definitely worth it.

Sushil Ghanekar

It is worth seeing place and huge zoo I ever saw. Panda and polar bear are attractions. We spent almost a day here.

Dan Brammer

Alot of walking but so much to see. Still miss the monorail but the zoo is a great place to see animals you would never otherwise see. They need to reduce or eliminate the cost of the shuttle train. It is quite expensive for something that is free everywhere else, like The Ex, Canada's Wonderland. Watch out for the photo red light cameras that surround the place.

Felix Tam

Haven’t been here in 30 years and must say it’s definitely an experience. A must place to visit in Toronto and highly recommended!

K D

Great for kids. Went over the summer and for Halloween. Lots of animals to see. The splash park is so much fun during the summer. Would be so worth getting a season pass if it weren't for covid. The zoo is huge and there is so much to see and do that it would be good to split it up with a few days. If you try to do everything in a day, you will be exhausted! Be prepared for a lot of walking. Wear comfy shoes. Bring you kids strollers but if you forget then they also offer some for rent. During covid, we tried the drive-thru and we barely saw any animals. Mostly just saw trees. Would not recommend it. Terre Lumina is the most amazing light show I have ever seen and highly recommend it! It is so beautiful and mesmerizing. Overall this is a great place to visit if you have younger kids!

Adam King

We love going to the Toronto Zoo, we go every year to see the animals.

Sarah Vincze

I always love the Zoo! Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Animals are very well taken care of.

Cherie Wilkinson

Was a bit disappointed. A number of exhibits were closed. Seemed like fewer animals, ie., only one of certain animals, when they thrive in groups. The grizzly bear seemed stressed out. Love animals but rethinking zoos.

Mister Anderson

The Toronto zoo was good. It was a very nice day to walk around and we walked the entire zoo in about 2 hours. We got there early and beat most of the crowds which was nice. We saw the cheeta up close which was pretty cool.

Gino Belvedere

I go every year and always enjoy it unfortunately didn't see panda bears long lines

Nates Kustomz

Nice family time place to go

Sheila Ehmke

We had so much fun at the zoo! It was a family outing in a safe outdoor environment. They had several covid protocols in place. The animals are well cared for and healthy. Recommended for sure!

Wait time

Raymond

Love the zoo. The place is super clean, staff are constantly cleaning. Overall its a good place to bring the family and the kids. Keep in mind at this time of the year not all of the animals are out and not all of the food places are open yet.

MyMy LoVe

Nothing to pet or feed. No exotic animal. Hospitality was horrible.

Manjot Singh

Full fun good place the zoo preserve various species of birds animals. The infrastructure is great must go palace but parking is costly. They also provide membership for unlimited visits thats good. The staff feeding animals is great i really appreciate them.

Leanne Chew

Entertaining, lots of animals to see, worth the drive from Toronto

Marco Lisi

Great place to take the kids

Sumit Bodara

First time visit to the zoo... it was amazing experience but all indoor pavilions are closed still due to the pandemic. Visited in the afternoon and found most of the animals are either resting or inside their shelters.. lots of walk for sure!

Laura Okazaki

I am really disappointed with how little there was to do here. When paying for a full priced admission I figured everything would be open. If they had a bunch of the stuff not operating and sections of the zoo closed then perhaps maybe they should amend their admission price to reflect that. Most of the animals were in hiding because its been so hot and humid, there was really not a lot to see or do. Gift shops were outrageously expensive as most tourist shops are. A tiny little stuffed octopus was $70!!! Wild. The bingsu was good though (Korean shaved ice)

Nita Chan

Pretty disappointed with the facility. For 50ft long line at the admission it took us 1hr to get in there. Plus 2 hrs wait to see the panda? Ohhh and its freaking dirty too, there is sunglasses at the bottom of penguin pool, which God knows how long it has been there for. The Sumatran Tiger also look distressed as it keep pacing back and forth. However i manage to took a pretty decent photo of the giraffe.

Nicole Levy

Such a great place to go with kids! So many areas to explore. Zoo membership definitely worth the price, after going 4 times already paid for, and with younger kids coming for smaller amounts of time is better to avoid meltdowns. Also zoo members do not need to book a time slot with current covid restrictions. With lots to see and learn about animals, wonderful splash pad, carousel, and zoo mobile to tour the park for free foe members. Would definitely get a membership next year!

Shaq Simko

A few pavilions were closed. A few attractions were closed as well, like the Zoo Mobile and the Zipline, otherwise, had a great time.

Jenn Cheng

So much to see, such an amazing zoo.

Deep Thakker

I you have kids ... this is going to be an absolutely fun experience....

Amelia Rose

We had a phenomenal experience at the Toronto Zoo today! All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially David K. who gave us so much cool information about giraffes and gorillas. I hadn't been to the zoo in years and I will definitely be returning soon! It was so much bigger than I remember. Very stroller friendly, many excellent COVID measures in place. We got tired before we ran out of exhibits to see! Thank you to the zoo team - and David, especially!

Wendy Wu

Great variety of animals. As much as I like what's on display it's their work behind the scenes that I like more.

Lincoln Convenience & A1 Paving

So big.

Gayatri Godinho

Everything is really neat. If you want to check out the zoo really well, then you need at least 2 days to explore and see everything.

Julia Reesor

A zoo visit with my granddaughter. Love the zoo!

Steven Macwhirter

No to busy and always love seeing the animals so well cared for

Keith Champagne

Long walk.... go on cooler days when animals are active

Lee

Enjoyed it

Bradley CM

I love that they allow you to visit a part of the animal welfare center. If I had known about this I would have gone early, and paid for the tour of the whole building. It is my opinion that some local attractions that keep animals (ML, ALS) give all zoos a bad name. It is so important to showcase the work real zoos do to protect endagered species through breeding etc. The work and education they do here is so important.

Jerry Bokser

Some newborns worth seeing - baby rhinos, gorilla and arctic wolf pups. Wear comfortable shoes, lots of walking to see the sights

Andrea Ng

The polar bears seem incredibly distressed:((

Paul Mann

Always a good visit!

Yash Verma

Really cool place, lots of animals. To see and adore!

Snowman D

Very Dope eagle entertaining by eating rats in front everyone lions are cool Check out the pandas and polar bears must see

Eric Chan

Is a full day fun for kids

sandra murphy

Terra Lumina at the Toronto Zoo was amazing. Dress for the weather and the walk!

Sammy Balsam

Fun time, cool animals. There is even a lot to see in the winter.

Stephanie M

Always a hit for a Boxing Day visit! Diaper changing area in the Africa area is quite nice. Wished we recieved verbal notice of when zoo was closing to have the stroller rental back in time. Zoo staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

jessica d

Had a great trip with the kids to the zoo. Lots to see. Enclosures were big. Animals look well cared for. Wish there were more cool off spots though as it was extremely hot. Definately would return.

John Aardvark

Pick a cool day if possible. Lots of walking. Great zoo with lots of animals to see including indoor and outdoor exhibits. Bring bathing suits for the kids for the splash park.

Dimitri Dimitris

You must to see this Zoo, if you never been before. Big area, you can spend whole day there with your family.

Aaron Mora

Always a treat. Even when it's crowded, it's delivers. Animals are always around. Do consider going outside of summer though. It is open every day of the year, except for Christmas, and everything is just as exciting in January as it is in July. A lot of the pavilions are inside, so just make sure your bundled up between buildings.

Nkoldnj

Visited during pandemic and the zoo was so organized even with one way routes. We were able to see all the animals we liked to see. Hope to visit again soon!

Guiseppe Noteborn

Great zoo

Yìchén Li

I went to the zoo at the beginning of October with my wife to take some time off and it was a great place to unwind! Honestly a great place to go if you want to go for a long walk and spend the day in the outdoors.

L Moss

Zoo is great, but charging for parking isn't especially $12.00.

Brigitte Schultz

Great place to take the little ones. Put on your walking shoes because there is a lot of ground to cover! Food options are very limited though right now, so either check beforehand or bring your own snacks :)

Felix Romero

Excellent zoo however maps and signs around the park were very confusing. Also the gorilla exhibit is still too way too small and dont know why they have not made it larger considering all the space available around it.

D. L.

I have given the Toronto 3/5 stars for the following reasons - clean park. Lots of washrooms. One employee/volunteer said the washroom would be cleaned after every customer but that wasn’t the case- it wasn’t really needed tho, so she shouldn’t of said that to us as we walked In (please note this visit was end of summer of covid-19 pandemic) - food is overpriced. Yes- you can bring coolers and drinks into the zoo I didn’t know that. I bought chicken nuggets (4 small nuggets) Coke Zero and onion rings cost $20.08 - the zoo is not walkable friendly. Like half a day you walk over 5km. And we only did one section- we never made it to the America’s or Australia.... With a stroller and packed full of sh!t, pardon me- I was done by 11:30am and we arrive at 10. -half of attractions closed due to covid but I’m still charged the full price... ?!?!?!? Overall great experience

Daniel Bukcyznski

never been more disturbed. Shame.

Mike Lefebvre

Been awhile. After going wondered why I waited so long to go back. Canadian is still a long walk to look at a racoon.

Ali Akbar

Day well spent even in snowy weather. Not only the white bear, wolves and tigers but there are so many indoor animal and birds viewing options from the different places of the world you can find plethora of species. Worth going here for a 1 day picnic..!

Deborah Potts

We were greeted at the front gate by very friendly, helpful employees who directed is to the best route. The animals were very cooperative as they were near the viewing glass or at the front of the enclosures. I also noticed that the gardens are particularly beautiful now. People were respectful of the social distancing. I'm so happy my daughter bought us a seasons pass as we can now go often to this terrific Zoo.

Monique Porter

Had a great visit. Did 2 Wild Encounters, Goats & Giraffes. Both were excellent, our guide Danielle was wonderful. Definitely recommend doing a Wild Encounter. Looking forward to my next visit.

Nauman Danish

loved the visit. we went in November so just prepare according to the weather other than that experience was amazing. some of the aninals weren't on exhibits but over all great experience

Roman

I am not a huge fan of zoos for ethical reasons. However, it’s obviously a lot of fun for kids. Toronto Zoo is a big one; we spent here 4 hours and couldn't cover all the animals, even though we moved at a fast pace. For this reason, it also will be wise to take a stroller/wagon for your little ones. You could also rent it from the zoo itself (from 8$). The Zoo has a lot of cafes, but out of season, only a few of them are open, and there were huge lineups. If you bring your food with you - there is plenty of picnic areas.

Ata Syed

Its huge and its well maintained. I got family pass and its worth it after 2 visits. If you buy individual tickets, it costs close to $28. So for family of 3 that is roughly $90 per visit. But 1 year family membership is $185. Therefore its worth getting family membership as after 2 visits you it pays off. Also pass holders do not need to book time slots for visit. Zoo has a free train ride for family pass holders which my family enjoys every time we go there. Its great as we can get off at different locations in zoo and explore on feet. So its saves lot of walking. There are many washrooms and food stations all over the zoo for easy accessibility. It seems they are keep expanding the zoo which is great. Its huge as is and can never finish the whole zoo in 1 trip with kids. Lots of free area for kids to run around and play. They even have some play areas like sand play area. Overall I find this zoo to be really good. They are even open in winter and I am looking forward to it as I have never been to the zoo in winter. Looking forward to seeing Pandas and Polar Bears in winter setting.

Ahmed Gharam

Very cool place. Was hard to see the animals they were hiding or sleeping because of the weather. Probably better to go when it's cooler outside. Lots of walking bring water and snaks for the kids.

Tynesha Mull

Very enjoyable... catered more for families with younger kids in terms of the attractions but there is a lot of walking. They have a really large and very fun and well designed splash park for kids to cool off and play on a hot day because as much as they want to see the animals it is a lot of work for the kiddos to walk around all day.

Kevin Alexand

This Zoo is Great and very big in size. We can't visit all the locations.

Victoria Mccullough

One of the most beautiful and humble Zoo I have ever seen. Go there and support the Toronto Zoo Now!!! Great birthday present ever..
