Big Cats Yay! Animals appear healthy and well treated. No crowds.

Great Zoo to go to with kids or a partner. Being able to pet the Giraffes and feed them Bananas was the highlight of my trip !

Tyler Mckenzie-sheridan

Awesome little zoo for an easy little family day trip. A chance to get a closer look at the animals compared to larger zoos.

Michelle Ratz-McGuire

We enjoy the zoo every year when we come up to the cottage. It is perfect for younger kids and very interactive.

Justice Elizabeth

I had an amazing day at the Elmvale zoo today! The staff at the zoo is very friendly and amazing. You can tell that they love each and every animal that they have! You can get up close and even feed a variety of their animals! I highly recommend a visit to this zoo!

Emily

I liked that this zoo was more up close and personal. You have to prebook due to Covid which was great because it wasnt packed and you felt comfortable walking around.

Jess

loved being able to feed some of the animals and be right with the mini goats. the layout is great and there are lots of animals to see!

K Bayers

The zoo has gone done hill over the last 5 years or so. The areas around the cages are grown in. There is not enough enrichment for the animals. Definitely not worth $19.95/person.

Disclaimer: This visit took place August of 2020. The COVID precautions were appreciated and admired; everyone that came here was by appointment only, and while in line they confirmed names and party sizes. Upon arriving to the front, it was contactless payment with an understanding it was a one-way zoo path, that is, do not backtrack. This was intended to help prevent cross over or other patrons from coming in contact with you/us. The only reason I didnt give this 5/5 is because multiple times people ignored this rule, and the limited staff present didnt stop them from going backwards. The treatment of the animals and the living conditions made it apparent they were in great care and fed well. When we arrived we opted for a bucket of food each, which had among vegetables and fruit, an ice cream cone. We didn't know which animal would eat this, but were pleasently surprised when we stuck it near the giraffes and one of them went over the cage to swallow it whole. The displays have clear signs of which animals can and cannot be fed which made the experience safer overall, and some of animals like the cockatoo even do tricks and sing! A great experience for anyone in the Wasaga Beach area!

Best Zoo!❤????we absolutely love coming here! It's a yearly tradition:)

Robert N

Awesome experience!!! The kids loved it and had some very special animal experiences you can't find anywhere

Robert Schwarz

I don't like the concept of zoos. But they are necessary sometimes. Elmvale zoo is a nice small local zoo great for kids.

Katelyn Johnson

A great experience for kids - you can get up close to the animals and feed them. My kids especially loved the miniature goat enclosure and the baby lemurs are a must see. The little animal show is fantastic. The zoo is well shaded for hot days, and you can walk the whole thing in less than an hour. There is a snack bar which is reasonably priced. Make sure you bring change for animal feed ($4 at the gate and then $0.25 cent machines throughout)

Megan Rigby

Great atmosphere and staff

Heather Finn

We loved the Elmvale Jungle Zoo! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the facility was clean and the animals seemed genuinely happy and well cared for.

D W Thompson

Nice place to visit with the family. Lovely stroll along the trail. The animals are right in view. Relatively small zoo with a wide selection of animals such as Zebras, Geraffes, Lemurs and much more.

Melanie Hopkins

It was sad to see the animals in this zoo. There was a large variety, but it just didnt look like they were happy there.

Keith Willett

Great place for family visit. Had good time and staff were helpful. Animals were very healthy and clean. Go in morning as animals hide from midday sun or become very docile in heat.

Robert Ceschiutti

Always love coming here. It's just the right size to see everything with the kids without them getting too tired. Lots of shade on the paths through the park and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Maryna Pilkiw

This is a place to go to if you want to see unique animals up close, feed monkeys and giraffes, talk with parrots, pet baby goats. It truly is a special place, loved by kids and adults.

Tim Thompson

use to go there years ago

Clayton Boucher

While small, it was a nice visit with a good variety of animals. They have a small slide and swing set in the picnic area.

Simon Gibson

Great spot for the kids to learn and see lots of interesting things. Clean and fair prices. Will defiantly be back.

Brittany Trommelen (Btromm)

Fun place to spend an afternoon. You can buy a bucket of food to feed the animals. They have tigers, lions, zebras, goats, a variety of birds & more.

Meaghan MacKenzie

I don't generally support zoos but we were very bored and decided to check it out. Its surprisingly charming and the animals did seem happy. We went during the eclipse and some of them were acting extra wild. Great place to take the kids or have a date night. Price was reasonable and parking was free. There are zebras, goats, giraffes, tigers, monkeys, birds and more.

RYANOvision

Staff was friendly, and a very affordable outing for the kids. I am however feeling guilty for going. Seeing the animals in such small areas made me slightly uncomfortable..I think thats my last visit to any zoo.

Dave McMurray

Great place for little kids and adults who want to be close to the animals. It's just the right size for a full morning or afternoon. Lots of shade.

Michael McLeish

Great place not to large and has lots of animals. Great for kids 4+ especially because they can feed most animals. Parking is also free!

James “Dexter” Dextr

When I saw four ponies strapped to a piece of metal, knowing all they do all day every day is spin in circles for $5 a ride, I gave up on this zoo. They profiteer on animal suffering and that's not ok. The cages are messy and full of weeds, not the edible kind, but the nasty farm kind, the animals seem bored and disengaged from life (makes sense given the lions who are typically roamed have a cage the size of my garage. Yes, kids absolutely love it, but this is not a place for education. It appeared to be low staffed and which staff was around was sitting on benches chatting away. Honestly, go to the Toronto zoo or African safari where animals are treated better.

Dave Oliver

Great Little zoo to see animals at.

Dominika Brozek

Very well organized and fun zoo. You won’t spend an entire day here but well worth it , for a quick trip to the zoo. The ability to feed a variety of animals is something that many zoo’s don’t offer. The animals are seen up close and easy visible unlike some other zoo’s. Highly recommend.

Daniel Bolingbroke

The staff were great, the goats were great fun - feeding them with all the kids. But some of the enclosures for the big cats made us very sad. We feel they should have been bigger. But overall we had fun - just felt sad for the cats.

Melissa Vessio

such a great little zoo! they are doing an awesome job with their reservation check ins & social distancing protocols. The animals all are well cared for & so much fun to feed.

Ken

My wife grew up coming to the jungle zoo so I had high expectations. We all had a great time even with covid restrictions in place. The zoo is one way now where apparently you could go wherever before. Animals seemed to be living their best life and well fed. Most animals were in view and available to be fed and everything was clean and well taken care of. The kids had a great time so we definitely be back again.

Elisa Stacy

Love coming here with my family. They have done a great job during COVID limiting people and staggering entry. Staff is friendly and happy to talk about the animals. My kids love that they can fees the animals. Would love a reminder at the animals you can feed and what they like best!

Brian Kurth

I really didn't expect what I saw. Its not African Lion Safari. Iys not the Toronto zoo. Its a great little place to introduce kids and families to animals. Its clean the staff are friendly. Good walkimg trails. We got to feed the animals. The only thing i would ask. And maybe it was there. Is have a sign that tells us the food the animals like. The bucket had different things. Knowing what they eat would be great. But as i said. Great place. Will be back with my little one.

Sharon Jack

Visited this zoo today, friendly staff and amazing experience, definitely recommend this zoo.

Emma B

Lots of different animals, although the layout is a bit back and forth. You can buy snacks for the animals and hand feed them, with handwashing stations nearby. Cute stuff in the gift shop. Also there's a miniature goat pen you can go in to feed them! Bring a picnic, there's lots of spots to sit and relax!

Zion King

Enjoyed the place! The walk place is designed so you can easily see all the animals within 2-3 hrs without rushing. Bring Apples and Bananas since lots of animals enjoy them. Only downside is that it pales in comparison to the Toronto Zoo, but the prices are a lot better. Oh, if you want to enjoy a dance, see the cockatoo near the food stand, trust me you'll know what I mean when you see it. Lol.

Deanna G

Awesome little zoo! You can even feed some of the animals which makes the experience even better. Definitely recommend!

d d

Not a 5 star zoo by any means (lacks the funding and space of major zoos with no "special" exhibits) but it gets a solid 4 stars. The layout is easy and just enough walking for kids that you get to see the whole zoo without cranky kids. There's a great little show of animals for kids every so often where they bring out a turtle, snake and lion cub which is cute. Fantastic petting zoo area with gorgeous peacocks right beside. Nice little parkette for the kids to play if they become bored. Customer service is also very friendly and all the employees seemed to be smiling even when not engaged which was refreshing. Decent and affordable meal options. Also a very respectable price of $20 to enter; will definitely be a repeat visit several times a year.

Reynard Rose

We went on weekends to the zoo. You can get close to the animals, the cages are cleaned, the animals are well-kept and have all the amenities. The entrance ticket is inexpensive.

Sean V

First time here, was a great experience very kid friendly. Every path was well marked. You get close to alot of the animals and they are all easily seen. Very much worth it. Will go again. Prices were reasonable. Attached are some photos from today.

Claire Luke

Amazing afternoon for the kids!

Van Leskinen

Had a great time with my son there. Hopefully they get the white tiger soon, will be going back once they have.

The S Family

We have been going here for 4 years!!! The staff are incredibly nice and the animals look well taken care off! This is one of the best days out that you could have with your family!!

Danish Khan

Best zoo ever. Don’t go Toronto zoo. Super expensive plus super expensive parking. Elmvale zoo is perfecto for kids and almost all the walkways are covered with trees so you always have shade. Great place and not expensive at all. You will see tiger and lion with such a close distance that you can even see flies around cats body.

Jason Rodgers

Great day to learn about animals

Louis Rossi

Great experience! Their Covid protocols are great and the zoo is well managed. Zookeepers and staff tend to the animals well, you can tell because the animals all were happy and playful when staff were around. 10/10 experience

Andre von Nickisch (VNR Photography)

It was a great place to take the kids and see lots of animals.... the zoo is a great size for younger kids and everything is realivtivy close together.... my kids enjoyed it a lot and we all had a good time..... worth the trip if you are close by....

Victor Chen

Great for 2-3 years old kids, animal are active and much closer to see

chris chan

Impressive zoo out of nowhere. Try to catch the live animal showcase. We saw a 4 week old Bengali Tiger and baby lion cub, amongst other great animals. Kids love it. Feeding the giraffes is a fan favorite. Bring wet wipes.

Chris Blackstock

It's a smaller zoo , 20 bucks an adult , there is plenty to see some of then enclosures are small for the bigger animals. However it was very clean place, animals seem in good health, only negative is for 20 bucks you can walk through the entire zoo in about 15 mins

Jenny Labrosse

Always such a nice time while visiting!! The animals are happy and well taken care of, the grounds are clean and there's always staff around tending to something!! Covid measures were great although I'm sad they couldn't figure out some way to do the gift shop safely. Other than that, it was our 5th time and we will be back every year!!

Brian Nevill

Kids love to visit they have a nice variety of animals

Warren M

Great little County zoo, easy walk for all ages. Nice Variety of animals, from a petting zoo to Lions. Looking forward to our next visit.

Tamara Collison

It was a great day my kids had a blast seeing all the different animals. I loved being able to feed a baby lemur a banana it was great

Sherry Johnson

We love this zoo. It's close to home... it has a nice number of animals and a walking trail that won't take too long. The kids are happy when we go ????

Reed Haw

Pretty cool place. I've never seen giraffes up so close, you were actually able to feed them. It's also really cool that you could go in and pet the goats, and there's lots of animals there for people to see. Really awesome place.

Claire Darvell

Had a wonderful time here yesterday with my partner. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Although I haven't been to a zoo in years, I'm happy I went here for my first visit in a very long time. ** Absolutely adore the lemurs and birds here!

Robot Plays

The animals were amazing the staff was great at the social distancing. Watch out for the goats though they bite!

Andrew Geddes

This is a fantastic place to visit for everyone on the family. Prices are low, the animals are close up for kids of any age to see. There is reasonably priced food and drink - including food for the animals. You can feed many animals there, main ones being goats and giraffes. It's worth the price of admission, and best to go on a cool day for active animals.

M. Werden

This is a great place for kids or on a date. It's much smaller than the Toronto zoo but is also much more fun. It has lots of shade and trees. The staff are very friendly. I always have fun. I used to take my then girlfriend on dates here sometimes and now we're married and take our daughter.

Amanda M melissa

Amazing staff ???? kids absolutely loved this zoo. The giraffes were the highlight but the baboons were so much fun. Feeding could be a little perfected differently but other than that great experience. ????

Vernice Smith

A great place for kids and the kid at heart. Enjoyed a beautiful summer day at the zoo with my 2 grandchildren and their new friend - they enjoyed seeing the animals up close. We ate lunch in the park. There are plenty of hand washing stations throughout the park so don't be afraid to interact with the animals designated as such.

Cat dawson

I’ve been going here since I was a little kid & I can’t wait to take my grandson soon . The animals are incredible & the zoo is great for the whole family !! It’s worth the time to check it out

Kenneth R. Bandeira

A nice small-scale zoo. A large variety of animals with an “up close” animal experience. Feeding some of the animals, including a giraffe and monkeys, was a fun and unique experience. Would definitely recommend this zoo over the larger zoos. Will be back again!

denisse berdusco lópez

Precious¡ Loved every single part of it. I had a wonderful experience ghere, the service was good, always answering wich ever cuestion we had. Since we entered till we exited there was always sometjing to look at, jiraffe, tiger, lions, white lions, parrots, gucamayos, especies of birds, monkeys, goats. My favorite part was the goats, you can enter and play with them and you are allowd to feed them, it is very fun. I recomended to any type of public, children, couples, familys, absolutly for everybody.

Michael Van Harten

Smaller zoo, but really cool. Several of the primates are small enough to sneak outside the cages when they're like. The zoo is totally ok with it, so you get monkeys eating out of your hand

J. Cat

Great zoo to visit, they had programs for the kids and the employees were helpful. Highly recommended

X z

My son absolutely loved it! Price is fair and the bucket of fruit/veggies for the animals are so worthy!

Marcos Borges

Nice zoo, great size for small kids. Went with my 2 y/o and she had lots of fun.

D Ward

Absolutely wonderful experience, so close to the animals, affordable and the zoo is so clean. Most important, the staff are friendly and you can tell the animals are so well taken care of. Thank you

Jenn Hessels-Medd

Great experience! My son loved feeding the animals.

Amber Cascanette

We had a good time at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo. I went with my 1 year old and husband. It's great for parents of toddlers because it is a very small zoo and they can likely walk the whole thing on their own. It's also well shaded where the walking paths to view the animals are. The only thing I'd recommend is that you wear some bug spray because of the mosquitoes in those shaded areas. I really enjoyed our visit. I will likely return again this summer with my 4 year old.

John Green

Good time had by our big family, 6 adults 9 kids. Prices have gone up big time, cost $20 per adult to get in plus $13 per child. No gift shop available to offset the cost of admission. Some new enclosures around the zoo show that they are doing something to freshen up the old zoo.

Jamie Maing

Amazing experience. I prefer going here than to Toronto Zoo. You get to be closer to the animals feel more engaged with them. Feeding the giraffes was a thrill and the goat petting area for the kids was a blast. Highly recommend for any family passing through the area or looking for a nice day trip activity.

Mike (clandestine8)

Great small zoo! very. easy to interact with animals and get closer than normal. Lots of babies! easy to view everything in a few hours. very entertaining, recommend a visit if you're in the area

Jennifer Moore

Our young family enjoys experiencing this zoo. There is a good amount and variety of animals. And the walk around the zoo is pleasurable, with many places to sit, have a picnic or have the kids play on the playground. You can get a good close up to many animals as well as feed goats inside their pen. The animals seem happy and healthy.

Chris Henry

Pretty cool place. Clean, neat, well kept. Good amount of animals for the price. Very close to many of the exhibits like the lions, lemurs, giraffes, etc

Michael van Schalkwyk

It's still a Zoo but the animals look well looked after, the walkthrough because of COVID-19 was well organized. Friendly staff, really fun that you can feed some of the animals, especially the giraffes. Worth a visit

Belinda Long

The eagle and large cat enclosures were WAY TOO SMALL. And the snake enclosures were DISGUSTINGLY FILTHY. More feces and shedded scales, then bedding. And had mixed species. They also had an animal presentation, now I know some about snakes...and the presenter was very misinforming. I'd never go back again. And would not recommend it.

Aaron Allison

This a a great small zoo. The definite highlight for my kids was being able to feed the giraffes. It was a great messy experience. The staff are friendly and the animal show/presentation is great and informative. They also have food for sale and a little playground for kids. It is great that there is not a long walk to see animals.

Burrito Queen

Honestly we had a great time here, reasonably priced...and lots of lemurs. My only concern/complaint is the state of the ostrich enclosure, it was a freaking mud pit and the poor thing could hardly get around...there was pretty much NO dry area for her to sit...she just stood in the corner up to her ankles and soaking wet. Surely something could be done to help this bird.

Michael McLeish

Great place not to large and has lots of animals. Great for kids 4+ especially because they can feed most animals. Parking is also free!

Sammie

This zoo isn't bad if they change a few things. First off please don't use the animals for rides. It's very sad. No animals wants to go in a circle all day for us humans to ride. The animal like the tiger need way more space. They need to be able to run around and go into the water when ever they wish or go in the shade at their own will. Too bad that they treat the animals like this. If they take better care of the animals I would return other wise that was my first n last time with my family. I love animals and I can't support things when they are treated this way. PS one of your monkey looked so depressed...like suicidal. Please help him. He needs a friend please.

Stu

Great place. Feeding the giraffes is an absolute blast and they have a decent selection of animals. Good sized enclosures too. As a photographer this is a great setting to get good clear shots of the animals due to the larger spacing in the cages. Though of course the enclosures for the big predators are more secure.

Amanda Potts

Lots of animals to see and they don't force you to wear a mask which is nice. My 2 year old son loved it. We will definitely be back.

Ryan Smith

An absolutely amazing experience at the Zoo today. Had a chance to meet this little white tiger and see the many amazing exhibits they had! Definitely a great value for the whole family to get up close and personal with a wide range of animals. The staff made the experience positive and their passion for animals is very evident! Would highly recommend a visit to this zoo!

cody crosgrove

Only zoo you can touch animals awesome place for kids

Michelle Atkinson

Great little outing with the kids. They have set up a one way system and take timed reservations so social distancing is easy.

Jason D

The easiest place to bring your kids. Easy to walk trails. Everything is enclosed so you don't have to worry about runaway rascals. Plenty to see and a spot to eat halfway. Just got back. Season pass holders for the last 3 years.

James Mccabe

Great place to visit lots of animals. Kids will enjoy got to feed the giraffe's was fun

Patrick Wagner

The Elmvale Zoo is a landmark and must visit location. There are alot of great animals to see, including tigers, lions and goat petting area. If you have kids this is a great place to spend the day, bring your food and picnic at the zoo. They also see fast food and gifts. Amazing animals.

Laura Fournier

Small and up close to the animals. The little ones can easily walk this Zoo and interact with the animals. You can hand feed the Giraffe and go into the Goat enclosure for some hands on interaction.

Jessica M

A great place to take your kids! We managed to walk the park with a 7 month old in a few hours (taking our time). Lots of shaded areas as a lot of the animals are under the tree canopy. You can feed some of the animals as well. Food canisters are at the animals you can feed for 25cents and there's water stations to wash your hands. Bathrooms and food available, but you can also bring your own and have a picnic as lots of areas throughout the park to eat with picnic tables and benches. And the gift shop items were great prices. Parking lot was packed but very spacious inside, never felt crowded. An awesome spot to spend the day.

dana pooley

Great fun for the whole family ... Very interactive, recommend buying food for the animals when you get there as you can feed almost all the animals including the monkeys! If you are going to eat, don't eat in the open picnic area as the seagulls will harrass you the whole time.

David Spencer

We were able to get in despite not making a reservation, which we didn't realize was needed until we were already in line. The animals were awesome, especially the giraffes which we enjoyed hand feeding!

James Foisy

Liked the zoo. Its small, but priced well. For our little girl (15months old) it was great that the animals are that close. Easier for her to see and pay attention to. Feeding the Giraffes was pretty interesting and fun. She loved it. (not gonna lie, i did too). Lots of different type of monkeys as well. Fun place to spend an hour or two.

IRENE WILKINSON

Love this zoo...

Megs

We love this Zoo So much! the place was well taken care of, the staff were so nice. We loved the little learning areas amd animal shows. The Best feature about this Zoo, which makes it better than the Toronto Zoo, is the fact that there is LOTS of shade when your walking all that way around. The view is so scenic and gorgeous. I love that this zoo is located in a forest type area because on the really hot days, especially with little kids and babies, theres so much shade to cool down out of the sun. Elmvale Zoo has to be one of the most scenic, gorgeous zoos I have ever been to. The kids really enjoyed themselves. The prices for Food were reasonable and not over priced. They have a great variety of different animals. Such a great time!

John Williams

Perfect zoo for my 5year old. Able to feed and pet some of the animals. I did feel sorry for the big cats their cages seemed to small, but they did look healthy

Vince D'Arpino

Kids loved it

Jody Perdue

Perfect little zoo for the kids.

Daniel Chénier

Love bringing my kids to this place. Wish they had their animal info signs in English and French. Really like how you book an appointment to visit and that it's all in one direction. Their $10 bucket of animal food is overpriced. Fun, but overpriced.

Deanna G

Awesome little zoo! You can even feed some of the animals which makes the experience even better. Definitely recommend!

Jamie Lebel

More animals than I thought! Well layed out. Wide trails! Friendly staff. I had a lot of fun here with my 3 year old son. He enjoyed it immensely!

SaraLi Forouzanfar

Not as many animals as the Toronto Zoo, but amazing because of the experiences! Adorable baby lion cubs, a macaw, and a tortoise were at the demonstration, feeding of all the lemurs is allowed, an adult giraffe was on the other side of a thin wired fence so we could pet him, and so much more! We even got to pet the baby lemurs that fit through the fence to come up to us!!! The tiger and leopard were really cool since they were awake ~

Wendy M

I like the zoo and certainly the children also enjoyed the zoo as well. The only thing I would recommend is packing some snacks and lunch for the children and bring water. Currently because of covid you are supposed to walk in one direction. (No back tracking and no re-entry because you forgot something in the car. It was super fun got a chance to feed the animals and the kids did as well.

Alex Coassin

Good place to take the kids at a fraction of the cost of the Toronto zoo. Animals and enclosures are often difficult to see though, and variety isn't the greatest. But good value for the cost.

Cynthia Yeo

It's beautiful. Much larger than I expected. Tricky to get out of parking lot as it's on s busy road. No food available really so pack a lunch. Gift shop closed because of COVID.

Bryce Smith

Great zoo, will be back

Matt Dorscht

Very polite staff cool animals. Not commercialized which is nice.

Katherine D

Love this little zoo. It is nestled in a forested area with lots of shade for hot days. Great day trip for the whole family.

Jeff Meades

What a wonderful time we had at the Elmvale Zoo. So much fun feeding the animals and petting them, having baby goats jump on my back playfully was probably the highlight. Highly recommend, great experience for all.

R & A Hunter

Very well kept place. Lots of shade! Spacious paths. Steady pace of traffic. Good upkeep of health and safety. The animals do not seem miserable. Feeding buckets for the animals with fresh variety and good information boards of the animals as well what they eat. Staff are friendly. Highly recommend to visit with or without the kids.

Joe Fraser

Great price for a day visit, the kids love feeding the goats.

Britton Dusome

Easy to maintain social distancing with staggered entrance times, lots of hand sanitizer available and the one way path to follow.

Sebastien Roy

The kids had fun but it was sad to see some of the animals pacing back and forth in their cages Also their cages are way too small.

Kesha Livingston

Very nice, serene location for the Jungle inspired zoo. You enter and exit through a small hut/gift shop and pay the entrance fee in gift shop. If you are looking for a zoo like Metropolitan Toronto Zoo, this is not it. Alot of lush green and trees for the animals to enjoy and large fields and a simple dirt path to follow.

Ian Hodgson

Great little zoo.Cool and shady trails. Can feed the critters. By far nicer and more interactive than Toronto Zoo. Good prices for admission. Would recommend.

Samantha Reed

Cute little zoo. Would definitely go again. My daughter loved feeding the giraffes. The little shows with the baby animals were cute too. The kids loved watching, listening and learning about the animals.

mochi chimchim

A nice family zoo. Not as big as I thought it would be, but has a decent selection of animals. Cost about $20 for adults which to me is a good price. This is a place that kids would enjoy....and doesnt seen like the kind of zoo to get overly packed and busy so you xan actually relax and enjoy your time.

Marina Bulat

Awesome place, had fun with all our family.

Michael Casey

It's definitely a zoo. Feels like maybe they could have more staff patrolling to make sure people aren't being goofs. The group ahead of us had one of the lions chase his kid which ended with him getting zapped by the fence, kind of set the tone for the rest of the park.

Andria Diane

Went in at 4:22pm ish when they were open until 530pm today, and that hour gave me just enough to see everything I wanted and it was super dead so you actually got to see the animals. Some of the habitats look like they need a good clean but don't know if thats intentional. One of the birds, looks like its digging to get out of its cage and was chewing at the top, didn't look very happy. Otherwise they all looked healthy. Neat you can feed the giraffes????

Lisa Lisa Brown

My absolute favorite zoo...up close to my favorite animals ❤

Laura Watt-Dennis

I've been coming here for years!! Absolutely love it

William Markle

Took our Grandchild and had a wonderful time. Loved the show and interaction with the animals. Grounds clean and animals well cared for.

Robert Mooney

Great experience. Takes a few hours to go through.

Douglas Olivares

Great size zoo, lots of animals, clean and you can even feed some aninals by hand. You can spend a solid couple hours here. Friendly staff, and place looks clean, would recommend Elmvale zoo

Mathew Mccluskey

Amazing place to visit. We brought the whole family. Very good procedures in place to help everyone social distance. The animals were amazing and there was lots of different things to see. Definitely go and che k it out.

D Stacks

Animals seemed healthy and happy! They all had nice clean groomed fur. Took about 90 minutes to walk through at a regular pace. Needs another washroom halfway through but maybe its not there because of covid. Great zoo! Also very clean during these times!

Soren Vaerum

Great spot for younger kids and adults alike.

Doug Maitland

This is a great Zoo. Not huge so you can see it all and there is lots of interaction with the animals

Abram Martens

Nice jungle setting. Animals looked happy

Valerie Weir

Great spot for a great afternoon with family. All the animals look clean and very well cared for. Staff was super! Helpful and happy to be there.

Ragini Sivaraman

Love love love this place. My kid has super fun when we go there. The giraffes are my favorite;) will be visiting quiet often.

Bree Palmer

I would highly recommend spending a day here, It’s a better more intimate zoo type of experience. Can get feeding items and interact with the animals. Well spread out so you don’t feel crowded or overwhelmed & baby lions are just the icing on the cake! We had a great time and my boys are 18, 15 & 12! Was a great day.

Sidney Ruddock

It wasnt enjoyable at all. No petting for the children like they allowed last year. No place to get food or drinks. Felt like just a cash grab. Quite expensive truth be told. The animals seemed lethargic and comatose.

Cody Schiltroth

Amazing Zoo! My 3.5 year old had a blast feeding the animals, and seeing all of the different animals.

Fredoo

If you want a cheap but fun experience at a zoo and you live nearby, this is really a place that I would recommend! Also, it's free for childrens from 0 to 2 years old, wich is nice

Crystal Monaco

Great place for children and adults and school trips. Very Clean! Large selection of animals. Outdoor covered eating area. Food and gift shops. Great coffee!

Mark McIntyre

Staff is great lots of room to view Animals

The Inner Flame

Awesome experience. They have a good collection of animals, especially lions. They have African n white lions and they are well taken care of. Other than that, tigers, lemons, giraffe, birds n many more- very well maintained place. Bring your own food and be there around 11 or 12. Overall, a great place for a family visit. Would recommend.

Moose

Young children friendly zoo. Their walk ways are shaded. You can also feed their animals with the banana purchase from their store.

Sara Saunders

Amazing as always! It was my husband and my second date, 11 years later we still enjoy it every year and now with our 3 year old son.

Jane

We had so much fun celebrating Canada Day with the animals! This is a fantastic zoo for small children! Thank you for the wonderful day!

Scott Murphy

Great value for a family visit. It took us about 90 minutes to see all the animals.

Ashley Alexander

It honestly broke my heart coming here all the animals looked very distressed. The monkeys were pacing back and forth without stopping which is not a good sign. I asked an employee if the money's are ever let out of the cage and she said no that they spend their entire lives in those little cages. The Parrot looked very depressed and was plucking out his own feathers. My favourite part was seeing the goats and pigs because you got to pet them and love them but all the exotic animals who don't belong in Canada were very depressed and poorly taken care of

Denmar Logistics Inc

Took our 19 month Grandson. Had the best day in a very long time. Lots of animals to see. The staff were fantastic. Spent 4 hours if enjoyment. Recommend this little Gem.

LUCY MONG'INA

Lots of animals. Great place to learn and experience. It's beautiful. The only thing is if they would increase the contents of the feed bag.its too little

Ryan R

They have a bunch of monkeys and big cats. I also got to see 2 Jaguars having intimacies! The male, much like myself likes to bite while he is doing the deed. He didnt last very long though, but I guess it beats beating it yourself. Any port in a storm they say.

Orchard Winslow

It was nice. Some parts were relatively boring or not in amazingly fancy shape, but the animals are beautiful and the workers are really nice and knowledgeable.

Tarik M

Super friendly staff. Had an amazing time with family. Highly recommend.

Christine Routledge

Had an awesome time I loved it I come every year it’s so awesome!

Jonathon Smith

Great for kids and adults alike. You can feed and touch many of the animals. Lots of interesting animals. Sunny areas and lots of shaded paths.

Fahim Abdul Careem

Good place for kids...

Brian Peel

This Zoo always strives to help you, you feel closer to the animals than other zoo's and it is fun.

Justin A

Great little zoo. Had no idea this was out here. Easy walk for kids, and lots of animal feeding opportunities.

Stefan Bohm

Great trip as always family comes once a year since our son was born 5th year now and first visit for our daughter who is almost 1. Great for a day out look forward to next year.

sybmorris

Nice little local zoo. Great for younger kids. Not a lot of walking and everything is mostly shaded by the trees.

Tangari

Great place to bring kids. Giraffes reach over there fence, has a petting zoo with goats and a very informative a cute animal show. Lots to see, bigger than it seems at first. Bring water as it can get pretty hot walking the paths. Found the variety of equine and cattle animals particularly impressive.

Dan Lensen

This is a nice place to bring your kids when you don’t want to walk 20km to have a zoo experience like you have to in Toronto. It has lots to see, is nice and clean, and lots of opportunity to be interactive with the animals. Other than the girl at the food stand being really snotty, everyone else was very nice.

Ben Reader

Kid friendly zoo. Buy a bucket feed the animals.

RednecK Sararas

Awesome place. Can get super close to most animals and lots you can hand feed...like giraffes, Lama's, deer and even Lemurs.

Kyla S

Cute place, perfect size for small kids. Enough shady spots, a small playground, and a lot of seating. The animals look happy and well cared for from what I could tell. Went on a school trip and really enjoyed it!

Micky Allison

I am so excited with the easy location and amazing prices I am definitely making a family trip this summer… Now the only important question is, will I be able to keep it a surprise? Or will I get too excited and tell everybody… Note I’m posting it LOL

Colten

Had a good time!

Ron McCallum

It's a great place. I went as a single older father to take pictures if the animals. Watching the kids have so much fun brought back a ton of memories

Anastasia Buffett

Disgusted with the way the staff spoke to me. They do not follow and or up to date with the Ontario Disability Accessibility laws either. When asking staff about family bathrooms and state g that I found it odd they did not ha e them, tellonh them that the grab bar in Their bathroom was put on backwards the statement basically told me to mind my.own business and was rude and walked away from me. I use to love this place will not be return after this horrible experience thank you staff at Elmvale you have tainted my experience and will be seeking further action.

Terri Gortnar

Such a cute little place, very clean, and managed responsibly. Everyone was socially distant, but you could still see all the animals and interact with them. My kids loved it, we will be back.

Cadig Marcano

Great place for the family, kids loved feeding the animals, the tour take about 2 hours , no facilities to buy anything

Olena Ukraine

That was incredible experience! Kids loved it! So many animals! You can feed them!

Hannah Fry

You get up close and personal with the animals. Staff is always around and happy and willing to answer any questions! There's interactive activities like petting mini goats! :) An awesome place to bring the family!

Melissa Rutledge

Amazing zoo. My 2 year old daughter loved it and it wasn't too big for us to do in a morning. Lots of seating for lunch.

Jessica Holmes

Best zoo experience! You can feed the animals ????

Kebrit Films

Wow, perfect zoo, I saw so many animals that I have never seen before. And there you feel that all animals are in a good condition and happy. Also they have a beautiful tiger that you can see its picture that I took.

Marchelle Cina

Great zoo experience for kids. Not too big, easy walking trails. Able to see all the animals up close and even feed them!

Jeanette Muhr

We had a wonderful visit on July 2nd. our second year visiting during COVID. They have done a phenomenal job keeping visitors safe with the protocols in place. Last year, making the zoo one way so we could enjoy some physically distanced visit was a lot of work and they did it so we could enjoy the zoo and stay safe. Kudos to everyone at Elmvale Jungle Zoo. I am so happy to be able to continue my visits with my kids as my parents used to bring me when I was just a kid!

Spark

Extremely disappointed in the state of the animals. The big cats all looked sick and have no room to roam, cages are way to small, no water to cool off in, and very little shade, no enrichment and one tiger looked as if it could not stand. None of the animals in the whole zoo had an adequate water supply except for the flamingos. Even the peacocks were in a tiny cage, way to small for that many birds. The giraffes looked pale and dehydrated. The camels looked sickly their humps were flopped over, indicating they are not being fed enough. The parrots had nothing but branches to sit on, no toys and some were alone, all parrots need space, enrichment and company to have a long happy life. The birds of prey had no flying space or enrichment. No enrichment for the goats, just an empty lot with a little bit of shade and hay, just a little water bowl. The capybara was alone with some birds, and again no enrichment. Most of the cages are over crowed. These animals are locked up in small cages and they all look unhappy, hungry, thirsty, and bored. Visited July 4, 2020

Ildar T

Great family attraction lots of animals to see. Just remeber if you want to use $2.00 coupon from attractions Ontario it must be printed. they do not accept digital copy on your phone.

Giovanni Serebro (Gio)

I was pleasantly surprised with this zoo. It was an awesome experience to have some of the zoo animals so close, which I find unusual from most zoo experiences. Being able to go up close and feed the giraffes was a fun experience! ???? Areas of improvement: more clear instructions for when/where shows are and access to a park map with which animals are where and of course if possible add more animals. With those comments though it’s important to note the zoo is relatively small so some of the improvements I mentioned may be nice but not 100% necessary, still an overall great experience!

Amanda Lorberg

Always a great day!

Randy Charles Morin

We loved this zoo. Not the biggest, but I hate walking around 12 miles anyway. You get what you get and kids love it.

Patrick “PC” Hebert

Very enjoyable and quaint little park. Small enough to not wear out the little ones and big enough to be interesting for an hour or two. Not on the same level as the Metro Toronto Zoo but it is reflected in the price with free parking and no crowds.

Angelita Banton

I brought my kids to Elmvale Jungle Zoo and they had a great time seeing the animals and being up close to the giraffes, antelopes and alpacas. My little one thoroughly enjoyed the animals as he got to feel and fed the giraffe and antelopes and he was so excited. I love the fact that it’s not too big or too small and you can take you time to explore the animals. It’s a great way to get your kids learn about animals and nature and also to get outside to play.

Syed Ajlal Haider Naqvi

Amazing zoo, great animal collection. The cleanliness was the best I've ever seen. Will definitely go back and recommend.

G Singh

Wonderful experience with family or friends, the animals are more upclose and the walk is very pleasant to each section. Really enjoyed the petting area with the goats, highly recommend paying a visit. Would go again especially on a nice sunny day!

Becca Couling

Petting zoo, able to feed animals baby animals

Aziz Rahman

Nice place to visit with kids.

Hubert Trexler

Coming from South Africa , I was amazed to see all the African species, Blue Wildebeest , Eland , Zebras , Ostriches and a Gemsbok , Lions ???? look lazy and well fed ????????, Kids loved to hand feed the Giraffe ????

Khiet Ly

Nice day out with the family

Samantha Harris

The best zoo I’ve ever gone to. Beats the Toronto Zoo, hands down. I got to feed the giraffes the last time I went there and they are my FAVOURITE animal. It was awesome

Joel Roy

Great experience the social distancing was well practised when we were there

Jim Tempest

A surprising discovery. Although there are a limited number of displays, they are extremely good and it's obvious the animals are happy, healthy and well cared for. Enclosures are large and separated, which makes the visitor feel they are viewing the animals in a natural setting instead of penned up in cages.

Ashley Kilby

My family and I visited the zoo today. To be clear I normally do not support any zoo however this time it was not an option for me. I saw atleast 7 different species of wildlife animals exibiting signs of heat exhaustion. Two goats had literally collapsed infront of our eyes while we were viewing that area. There was a cougar who was panting so bad and dyeing to get out of its small 20 ft cage with no water source. 95% of animals had one small drinking dish the size for a small dog but none of them had ANY water in them. Most animals were dying for food as there was not much to eat other then burnt grass and mud. I didn’t see one park ranger in forcing social distancing or checking on the animals during the heat wave we had today it was (39 degrees) plus humidity. There was only one washroom throughout the whole facility that was at the beginning of the tour and you weren’t able to go back due to the one way lane for social distancing. The staff weren’t helpful in any way possible, they didn’t even answer the phone when I called to tell them these animals were in obvious distress. For $20.00 a person the animals should at least each have a troff full of water especially on days as hot as today. If you happened to have heat exhaustion they didn’t have any stations near by to offer drinking water or medical assistance or anything. It was a very poorly cared for zoo. The animals are basically dyeing I’m sure a lot have died while living at that zoo. Myself and my family will never return to that zoo and I don’t suggest any one else support them. I will be making a report to animal welfare tomorrow.

Chris Gerow

Great fun for my 15mos old son. I enjoyed it as well. Good selection of animals and more intimate then Toronto zoo. This place is a must go.

Charles Langdon

Nice little local zoo. Was a great place to take my sister for a couple hours. Plus charlie the parrot was our highlight

Catherine Paolucci

We went in the spring. It was great, the animals walked around. Some walk over to visitors.

David Gauley

Not a bad little zoo. Wasn't as expensive as others I've been to. There are lots of shaded areas to walk through while moving through the exhibits.

October Cousineau

My family and I had a great time ???? wasn't to big and wasn't to small it was perfect ????

X Tho

Awesome. Never has disappointed. Handled COVID protocols well, staff were friendly and a wide array of animals! A family owned type feel... loved it! Great for kids

Gal About Town

Love, love, LOVE this amazing zoo. Love the tree covered walking paths, the picnic area, the tranquility, and of course the up close and personal animal experience!! We go at least once every year and it's definitely a trip we look forward to! This year, due to Covid-19, you need to book your zoo time, so go to elmvalejunglezoo.com and set it up!!!! ????

Tamara Collison

It was a great day my kids had a blast seeing all the different animals. I loved being able to feed a baby lemur a banana it was great

Hailey

all the animals were so cute!!! my only complaint is about the animal food bags. my family and I bought 4 bags total, 1 bag per family member. we fed the giraffes a bit and then saved the rest of the food for the other animals. we were confused on what we should feed the animals since there was no sign telling us what they ate/preferred!! we were unaware that there were only 2 areas where we could feed the aniamls so we walked near the end with a ton of food left in our bags :( we walked all the way back to the alpacas to give them the rest of the food!! It would have been nice if there were signs or separate smaller bags which tells us what to feed what

Jamie-Lee Lessard

Great place to take the whole family! They're doing a great job with all the new regulations.

Dan White

Lots of animals in near natural settings. Fences are tough to get food through at times.

Darien Taylor

For a smaller zoo, it's very good. Lots of animals. A heads up if you go: They do have a plastics ban in effect and you're not allowed plastic bags in. This is a great initiative so bring reusable containers or biodegradable ones.

Yuri Parij

If you are looking for a great zoo outside of the gta, this is the place. Being able to feed the giraffes is something you cant do anywhere else. Short drive from Barrie.

Tim F

We had an incredible family adventure at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo as we explored and learned together. The journey at the zoo began with an amazing staff member who allowed us to enter even though we didn't make reservations. Don't make our mistake, be sure to reserve your group size before coming! We had a 5 minute wait to enter. Ticket price was reasonable for a walking tour experience. No maps were handed out so take a picture of the map by the cash register. Food for the animals is available upon entry, but is quite expensive at $10 for a banana, carrot, lettuce leaf, and some pellets. We purchased one for each of the kids, but it is a stretch for value. The trek through the zoo took us about 2.5 hours with 2 kids which seemed to be average. Staff were omnipresent: we observed one family removed from the zoo because a boy climbed an enclosure fence and another family warned to follow one way directional arrows for covid protocols. We observed 3 staff members cleaning cages while we were there. I saw some comments about animal treatment and enclosure size, my thoughts are that while I do agree some enclosures appear small (as nearly anything would be compared to living in the wild), but without zoos, it will be harder to communicate the need to protect animals and habitat and harder to learn about these species so we can protect them. Check out the photos and videos for a sneak peek of what to expect and visit this zoo if you have the opportunity!

Jessi Dejong

Very small but nice zoo. Great size for little ones. The show was great but best part of all was feeding the giraffes! Wish they had a bigger play area or even a little splash pad. Over all enjoyed our day there.

David Wager

Great experience for babies first visit!

Dave Swinkels

Been here a few times. Great spot because you can interact with the animals more than at a bigger zoo. Great spot for kids

Elle Macciocchi

Animal lovers shouldn’t ever go to this zoo. I left there almost in tears. Tiny, dirty habitats; sad looking animals. This should be illegal.

Francesca

My toddler loves this place and so do I. Very nice walk through (as per covid) that allows you to see everything. It's not like the Toronto Zoo by any means, but it's great for a little half day trip to feed giraffe, bison, goats, alpacas etc.

Ryan Hanley

This zoo is phenomenal! Would recommend over the Toronto zoo any day! Get close to the animals, in their more humane habitats, feed them and watch live shows.

Kris Kennedy

Visited the zoo this summer. Was impressed with the attraction. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't a huge facility, yet there was a great selection of animals. There is lots of shade making for a comfortable environment on hot days.

extreme gamer

Lots of shade. Friendly animals. Lots to see. Easy to get around. Recomend for all

Katie Milne

Great place to bring the little ones. Not as big as the Toronto Zoo so I feel more comfortable with my kid. Love how the giraffes come right up to you and you get to feed them. Great experience and lots of fun! Highly recommended

Kristie Snoddon

Wonderful. Nicely done set up for physical distancing, Team Elmvale Zoo.???????? The animals are great and the kids REALLY enjoyed getting out for a day of fun and seeing their favourites.

Misty Schonauer

Family had a blast. Just wish there was a food/drink spot.

Mike Pegg

My 8 year old loved it, that's all that matters to me so I'll give it a 5 star rating. But $50 for 3 people to see a zoo which seemed to be overrun with Lemurs and birds, a quarter of the park was the same animals over and over again. No elephants or hippos, don't know how you can have a zoo without these animals. The zoo is comprised mostly of lemurs, birds and rodents. Good for one visit I guess, won't be returning..

S K

Great place to visit. You need at least 3 hours to see all the animals. some animals are really funny and friendly. feel like you are in pet zoo. surely recommend this place if you have kids.

Peter V

Was nice but very crowded.

Stefanie Moo Sang

This little cozy zoo is sure to impress. Located only minutes from Barrie, You’ll see most animals a Jungle Zoo should have; giraffe, lion, tiger, macaw, lemurs, zebra, flamingos.... and so many more!!! This Zoo is much better than the bigger highly advertised zoos because it’s away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. You can feed the animals with the feed they provide which I’ve rarely seen down anywhere else. Perfect for little and older kids, couples and adults. Before COVID they had staff present the macaws and snakes to groups, and there was a playground in the lunch area. The only down side is that everything is outdoors. There’s no indoor common area for inclement weather and There’s only 1 washroom located at the entrance.

Ashley Levesque

So many interesting and exotic animals - lions, tigers, giraffes, leopards, flamingos and a ton more. It only took about an hour and a half to get through so it's especially great for smaller kids

Mrs Lowry

Was a great experience. ???? ???? you need to prebook your visit. ????Everyone followed covid rules. ????Theres no snack place so make sure you bring water. ???? You can buy a bucket of food to feed the animals if you like. ???? ????Highly recommend bringing your family.

Kristen Horner

Great little zoo, good for the family!

megaplex2323

Mask regulations are relaxed and only used in line ups and bathrooms. Lots of different animals including 3 giraffe's a few different lions. A very special Cockatoo that dances and laughed for us. Can't forget about the many species of monkey and kangaroos. Great time had by all. Would go again and again.

Rich Carter

Fun throwback in the middle of beautiful near North ON!

Scott Race

This was an excellent family day trip! There wS lots of animals to see from anaconda to zebra! Well marked easily accessible trails! Feed pails available for the kids to interact with all creatures great and small! Will definitely be back for another adventure!

H Cimone

I went to this zoo on July 2, 2021 along with family members. I can see why this zoo appeals to children and families as the cages are very small and it is easy to see the animals. However, seing lions and tigers in such small enclosures made me sad. Seing the bald eagle in it's cage made me want to free it. I have been to zoos where the animals were housed in much better conditions. I will not return here. It was upsetting.

Terry P. G.

Great place to bring young children especially for their first visit to a zoo. You can get up close to animals and their animal presentations are helpful and informative. Staff seem to enjoy working here.

Shannon Larkin

Great price! Like that we got food and a reusable bucket to feed the animals.

Lilian Caravel

Love the zoo would have gave a five out of five except for the tiger's enclosure. How could any animal lover think that this is suitable. You have the space, make larger cages and play distractions from boredom.

Family Room

Love this zoo! It’s just the right size ???????? Big enough to have a variety of animals ???????? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? - and small enough to to finish in just two ✌???? hours. The latter is an extra bonus for families with small families ???? you’re welcome and have fun!

Victor Zong

Children friendly place

Thati Furtado

Very nice place to go with little kids.

Kal Alali

Nice and good for children. Petting part is fun. Staff are helpful. but don't wear your good shoes when you go, it is not paved and is dusty everywhere you walk during summer

Tissingtons Family

Love this Zoo. Great family experience. Up close with the animals. Lots of shades trails which is great in the heat of summer.

Robert MacDonald

We have visited the Elmvale Zoo annually for over a decade. We enjoy every visit as if it were the first. Reasonably priced and an awesome selection of animals at arms reach. The staff is always friendly, caring towards all animals and willing to share information regarding the Elmvale Zoo. We highly recommend the Elmvale Jungle Zoo!

Phos Chhan

Excellent family zoo. Perfect perfect size. Washrooms clean, large variety of animals, you can purchase food there, kids playground, stroller approved paths. We had an excellent time.

Renae Glennon

This is a wonderful up close family friendly Zoo. Surrounded by Nature the animals are quiet and calm and eager to play in front of your family. There is a large lovely picnic area with a PlayPlace as well clean washrooms and very friendly staff all at an excellent value.

Melissa Buchanan

Such a wonderful experience for my family. My young boys really loved feeding the animals and such a great variety of animals for a local zoo. Love love love

AJ Ouellet

Lots of different animals. Great place to bring the kids

Regency Flowers

We loved the Zoo get experience.we will be going again for sure.

Manal Michael

Its really nice to see different animals and you can feed the goat and the graff witch is more fun .

Alex Levinshtein

A relatively small zoo in terms of area compared to Toronto zoo but with a large variety of animals. Can feed animals with zoo-bought food or bring bananas from home to feed giraffes and monkeys. All the animals are much closer to you than in Toronto zoo. It is also considerably cheaper. Especially if you have small kids, I would highly recommend it.

Sara Ciccolini

Usually this zoo has been an incredible experience for our family. Today was the exception. There were zero amenities although these would be possible even given COVID Restrictions. We cleared the park within 45 mins at a cost not much less than the Toronto Zoo. We had a four year old and a nine year old and even with taking our time we were unable to spend the time together that equates to the cost we paid. The worst part though was the customer service. A tall brunette woman was vicious when we asked if our group could pay separately and even had the audacity to let us know she could refuse entry if we made any further comment on paying for our own families.

kris burns

We were really sad to see the state of the animal dwellings. Far too small for such large animals. Baby tigers on leashes. Allowing the public to feed giraffes whatever they want. This is not ok. Please read things like this before you support this type of environment.

Philip Kennedy

Great little zoo, lots of trees to provide good shade from the sun.

Elton Hodges

This little Zoo outside of Toronto has got to be one of central Ontario's hidden gems. It has a number of interesting residents that you can get up close and personal with. Never fear, there are also some exotic species here that will easily catch a families eyes and ensure your kids attention is held for the entire visit. The rates are very reasonable and there is a seating area for both meals that one can get from the onsite food vendor or those you have packed yourself.

Jesse Campbell

Great zoo. 6th time going now

Lauren T

I don't really like reviewing places that I didn't enjoy. This wasn't a terrible place due to staff or anything- the people are doing their best. Elmvale zoo is just ethically and morally a place I'm against. They have wild cats that have poor enclosures, understimulated animals, social birds locked up alone, and have been presenting an orphan lion cub to a daily show or presentation to spectators. I am just personally against this kind of place. I personally find it reprehensible; I'm sure many people feel the opposite however.

Jessica P.Jarvis

Shaded pathways that make the walking through more enjoyable. Being able to interact and feed the animals makes it a very pleasant experience.

Kris Kolo

Incredible hands on zoo with friendly staff. Enclosures for certain animals should be larger and contain more activities for the animals.

Y B

Honestly loved this zoo more than the Toronto zoo. It's a simple walk. There's always exhibits. The animals are generally in view. You can feed the giraffes, goats... My only suggestions would be. 1. Provide a note on which animals to feed what in the feed bucket. 2. The big cats didn't look the best. Maybe have less of them, but have larger enclosures. 3. Why so many different kinds of lemurs. Again, sometimes less is more :)

Lisa M

So fun to feed the animals, especially the giraffe. You can buy a bucket of food when you enter to feed them. With covid it’s spaced so that you aren’t around many other people and it’s one direction only so no wandering back

Nicole Wilson

What a wonderful zoo! Easy to get around, not too large and exhibits are fairly close to one another. Lots of shade to walk in. Great educational sessions multiple times a day.

Andrea Harmathy

Lots of interesting animals many of which you can feed including giraffes ????

Anitha Thomas

Great place to be with kids! Was fun feeding animals and petting them !

Chris E

Great variety of animals! Well kept facilities including clean bathrooms. Great length for younger children. Friendly and informative staff.

Sharon Mesdag

One hot day to be there the animals were pretty lethargic and you couldn't blame them. You have to book ahead for an time and day. Try to stay with your group going through because everyone was removing their masks. It would be nice if some people could patiently wait their turn before plowing through. The staff was great and everything looked clean.

Rev. Jessie Brandon

It was great, we had a lot of fun!

Josh Horowitz

Amazing zoo. Up close to every animal. No lines.

Katia's Korner

Went with my sister and a few friends to run ball. Such a chill spot. The graffiti makes for a great backdrop for photos

Mr. B R E

Great zoo to take the kids, not too big not too small. Some very interesting animals here. I suggest a lunch time walk, try to find the zoo keeper feeding the animals and follow them around. You will have a great time either way.

Angela Bottineau

Requires a playarea upgrade with relocations. Front end crowded. Nice to see animal upkeep in a better way than previous years. Many new baby animals. Clean on the day of visit.

Sarah M.

Always love the friendly service.

Дмитрий

Amaizing place for family time.

Karen Higgs

Awesome experience for all kids. We had a blast!

Ki X1911 (KIX1911)

First time coming here and I think it was amazing zoo! Bigger and more animals then I thought they would have I would definitely come back.

Rosemarie Gilby

Such a great Zoo! So enjoy being close to the animals and you can tell the staff REALLY care.

Kim Lyon

Excellant place to take the kids

Rachel Lahn

We had a great time with our daughter. It's the perfect size for kids while having all the main animals you'd want to see at a zoo. We especially loved getting to feed the giraffes and playing in with the goats. Overall a fun-filled day! I'd highly recommend it to other families.

Jason DeValadares

Perfect little zoo for kids! Has animal shows and a goat petting area.

Tony Tao

Lots of animals to see and it’s better than other zoos. You’ll need to book a time slot for your visit. Hence, it’s not as crowded and you’ll get more chance to see animals up close.

Giovani Pereira

Small zoo but with a different experience than other zoos, here you can buy a banana for $5 and feed some animals, and they have a animal show where you can see some animails very close by such as little lion, turtle and snakes

chelsea m

Great little zoo! The little ones had a great time, and they loved feeding the animals. $10 for a bucket, 3 and under are free to enter. Was stroller accessible and easy to walk. Gift shop is closed due to covid.

Jessica Coates

Have been visiting since I was a child. Many animals to see and a lot of them you can feed. Very nice, small, zoo.

Darrick Li

A great, COVID-safe outdoor walkthrough zoo. They maintain capacity so you're not walking by people within the zoo area paths. A good variety of animals with some that look to be well-kept and are critically endangered. Great time for kids to enjoy big cats and tall giraffes!

Jeremy Ings

Loved this place. Had a great time with the kids their, and feeding some of the animals was an added bonus for sure!

Slawek Bielawa

Incredible zoo, wonderful experience for the whole family. Well maintained, knowledgable staff, live animal show for the kids including a baby lion cub and a baby tiger. You can get up close to feed so many animals including giraffes. Awesome close enclosures allow you to see tigers, lions, panthers, and lots of exotic animals up close.

Naghmeh Gooch

It's the perfect size to take everything in. Great for families with young kids. There are shaded areas along the paths which is good for hot sunny summer months

Nobarun Dey

So far I have visited many zoos here in Canada and other countries but I have never enjoyed like here. It is very cheap, well kept and maintained, washroom is very clean, so many animals and most importantly animals are active and healthy. You can have a very close view. You can feed most of them if you want. Kids will like it so much. Higley recommend. Far better than Toronto zoo for sure.

Mina Latif

It was a decent walk , a lot of the animals were asleep and feeding them was fun but it's ok for a fun day with the kids

Jerry Branham

This zoo is small but well-kept. The animals look healthy, the staff is friendly, and I love the interactions you're able to get by feeding the animals. The only thing I would recommend is to have vending machines with drinks, positioned throughout the zoo. Overall, a great place to spend time with yourself, a few friends, or a family.

Amber Danielle

I loved this place! All of the animals look very happy and healthy!

Hope M. Pelufo

Was pleasantly surprised by the variety of animals!! Went at the beginning of the summer and they had cub leopards, baby giraffes, and an incredible variety of animals for such a small zoo!! They had an introduction with baby animals at 3.30 which was amazing.

Tom Wilson

Been coming here since I was a kid myself. One of the best zoos you can go to in Ontario. Clean. The animals are well kept. If you take your time, you can easily spend 2-3 hours. Longer if you stop for lunch. There is a snack bar and gift shop. There are educational sessions on some of the animals in the park by the front. Family tradition to come here now with my kids.

Shannon Trew

Love this zoo! Just the right size. Love being able to interact with many of the animals and see them up close. Always a great time!!

Duane Harris

Amazing little zoo! Great to get so close to the animals!

Nick porter

Awesome place and they are dealing great with the restrictions

stephanie s

My favourite zoo of all time. Love interacting with so many animals! A giraffe eats food right from your hand. Amazing!!

Erica

My daughter really enjoyed it here! There were a variety of animals and we were even able to feed them. The only issue I have is the cages that the animals are in... they are tiny certainly not enough room for the larger animals such as the lion, jaguar, and tigers they looked very unhappy and almost sedated.

Loolded

almost 5 stars - needs more benches - maybe a place to refill water bottles it can take over an hour to walk around easily - phew it's a long walk for small kids Lol

Alannah Schaus

Wonderful Zoo! Much larger than we expected with a great variety of animals. My 1&3 year olds had a fantastic time... especially feeding the goats!

JANE MCCARRON

During covid19 the zoo was very safe. Social distancing was adhered to, there were several hand sanitizer stations and you had to book a time to arrive so there was no line up. The kids (9+8) had a great time. It took about an hour to see. I was surprised by the number and variety of the animals. The very friendly talkative parrot was a favorite.

Kyle T

Very well organized and the animals can be seen fairly close. You can also buy the souvenir bucket and Fred many of them. Definitely great for young kids.

J

The animals appear to be well cared for. It's clean and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely great for the whole family. Try not to step on too many snails, they're everywhere.

Jody

Its kinda weird seeing animals in elmvale.. feels wrong.. nice you can get closer and they seem to be happy animals.. price is okay. Petting zoo is fun for kids

The Boutins

Pretty expensive daily rate, and expensive to feed the animals; $4 for regular size ice cream cone and banana. Kids enjoyed themselves and really the interaction with the animals.

Melissa Montgomery

Great place to bring the family. Perfect for all ages. Lots of shade and great space!

Candice Brydges

Small zoo, but intimate. The animals interact more with you, you can get a bit closer than you would at the Toronto zoo, and the animals seem more active as well. Good place to take younger kids as it is a lot smaller (less walking). There are fewer animals but it is reasonably priced and a nice place to visit.

Michele Goulding

Such a great place to take the family. We'll worth the money and time

Chris daCosta

Great zoom where you can can up close and interact with many animals.

Trevor Gerard

Great Zoo, lots of shade, plenty of animals for a smaller zoo, a little information show for the little ones. A great Zoo for families and kids.

Naomi

Love this Zoo! ???????????? Went with Family, was so amazing and fun seeing all the Exotic animals from around the world so close to home! Hope to visit again in the future! ????????‍♀️

Adam Wade

The staff here is great! My 3yr old daughter had to double back for a potty break and this staff member named Jenna walked us there, back, then to find my wife, who had moved to another location. Very nice person to take so much time to walk with us and open the gate. First time we went and had a blast!

Laura Flores-Sarnat

Beautiful and educational place, beautiful, numerous species with ethical treatment and a healthy interaction with families, especially children. Most animals have ample space; unfortunately other are in small cages, like the black panther.

Jen Kuzmowich

love going to this zoo! Intake my kids every year. You see everything.in a couple hours because it's all close together. Great for little ones. Well maintained and lots if animals including an animal show

Aizal N

Small place, lot of animals, easy to cover and enjoy with kids, can feed animals and touch animals, full of trees and shady. My kids loved it.

Gary Miller

I love this place and always enjoyed my time there with my family. You don’t have to walk that far to see the animals and the staff is wonderful. My only complaint is my kids grew up and left the nest and now I’d feel weird going without them? Still I’d go again just to see all the wonderful animals and enjoy the day outside. Thank you Elmvale Zoo for providing such an amazing place for the animals and humans to share.

Penguin King jay

amazing time. covid prodicals are good just wish the animals were more active

Rudy Barell

Great animals to see. Wide open spaces for them. The zoo's foot print is small enough for young children to enjoy.

Naomi B

Love this Zoo! ???????????? Went with Family, was so amazing and fun seeing all the Exotic animals from around the world so close to home! Hope to visit again in the future! ????????‍♀️

Emma Rose Dillane

Extremely happy with my experience at the Elmvale Zoo! The new path is beautiful, the people are so kind and the animals are happy! The COVID protocols they have allowed me to feel safe while having fun! Thank you!

Faz I

went here with a group of friends. great place for kids. took me about 3 or 4 hours to look around but its not really big like the toronto zoo. you can cover the place in just 2hrs. free parking. picknik area. playground for kids. we got to feed the giraffs dears monkeys..but not the rest of the animals specially the tigers the lion was asleep. kangaroo flamingoes snakes parets and few more animals were there. we enjoyed the animal show and petting the goats. you can bring your own food for piknik but not to feed the animals. we were able to buy some food and few bananas to feed the animals. overall this place was good.

Ravine Pinter

Great place for the family or even just adults! Our daughter had a blast seeing all the animals and being able to feed some as well. There was such a huge variety of animals I was honestly pleasantly surprised! We will 100% be going again this summer!!

TCT Clan

Great place for the kids!

Carrie Rafters

Clean animals are well taken care of. staff are friendly ..food is great also

Aseel Al Dallal

Fun. Enjoyable. But heart breaking. Why are eagles in a small cage? Why is the tiger in a small enclosure? Deer, camels, onyx had decent sized areas to roam. But with other animals it was heartbreaking.

Jenny Needham

The animals are in tiny little enclosures and look bored to tears. This is absolutely animal cruelty. Please do not bring your children, friends or family to support this. Owning exotic animals is one thing, but to then not have a proper or stimulating environment for them is another. Very sad this is called "educational" and should not be legal in Ontario!

Kayla McCarville

Great spot for a short family outing. You can walk the entire zoo within an hour. There are picnic areas to bring your own food, a playground and concession stand.

Kerry Gibbins

Beautiful Animals, well maintained, friendly, safe paths. Great for families.

Illfury

Wonderful zoo. There is quite a bit of walking to do (logged around 7000 steps) with plenty shade cast down upon the paths. Only downside was the food stand didn't accept debit, yet... 10 feet to the right, the admissions office does. Nice adventure overall.

maureen mccullough

Didn’t think we did this anymore, these animals are suffering in captivity, My daughter asked me to go with her to take my grandson! Definitely should have listened to my instincts and not went... I’m traumatized by the pain and sadness of these poor wild animals in cages.. Why do we need the big cats, kangaroos, caribou, eagles, Giraffe, zebras ?? Most of these animals just either slept in the far back away from the front of the cages where the people were...and the people were just walking by an leaving.. They need to be in their own habitat to lead any healthy type of life... All for a profit !! There are many other ways to teach children about these beautiful creatures.. I will never go to another zoo, unless its the kind that help injured animals and do not generate PROFIT at the expense and torcher of innocent wild, free exotic beautiful animals..

Nikola P

Great little zoo park where you can get close to the animals and let your kids run free without worrying about much.

Natasha Skanes

We always have a fantastic time visiting the Elmvale Zoo. We’ve gotten the membership two years in a row now and will continue to do so in the coming years. Perfect for the younger kiddos - you can walk the full zoo in an hour and a half.

Robyn S

We visited on Monday and had an amazing time. Due to covid protocols, the zoo was quiet and you were able to enjoy the entire experience and actually get to spend some time at each animal enclosure. The only downfall I would say is the washrooms. They are located as soon as you enter the zoo and due to the one way path, you are unable to back track to use the restrooms. There should be a portapotty or access to washrooms at the exit of the zoo. 6 months pregnant and no access to a washroom was not enjoyable.

Rhonda Emmel

Checked 2 things off my bucket list. Fed a griaff and pet a snake My son love feeding the animals and petting some

Kricket Nicol

Beautiful trails and friendly animals.

Darryl

The zoo was great and an easy way to spend a couple hours. The only negative feedback would be at the entrance. We tried to use some coupons for admission during the sick kids donation day and the attendant said, "You realize this takes away from your donation to the sick kids." A bit too early in the morning for a guilt trip and sullied the mood for a bit. I heard the line being used on the couple behind us as well so this was clearly the agenda for the day. It was just a bit abrupt and meant to intimidate people into not using their coupons which was the primary reason for my family's attendance. Otherwise, we had a great time.

Ashley Moore

Love this zoo! It is way more interactive than going to a bigger zoo. You get to feed the animals, and they do little shows throughout the day for the kids!

Faith Smits

My family and I loved feeding the giraffes!

Danielle Hebert

Great selection of animals and they look happy.

Darlene COTTER

We had a great time. What a wonderful place for young and old to learn and enjoy the animals. Thank you to all the people working at the zoo today keeping everyone reminded about safety measures in our new world.

Rochelle C

I love this little zoo the staff is friendly, it's a comfortable atmosphere and they have a wide variety of animals I cant say enough good things I love coming here

George G

Clean , organized and social distancing measures are taken.

Abhay Naik

It's good entertainment for kids. Just about size good for kids between 2.5-4 years . They can walk the entire time. Takes about 1.5-2 hours to enjoy at it's best. Safe to take during this C-19 times. Management is good.

Rebecca Pearce

Wonderful experience, animals are lovely and were very active as it was a rainy day! And my son and niece had fun! Staff is very friendly! ????

Krysta Palmer

Love this zoo. Daughter loves feeding the animals

Jaime Drury

Great way to get up close to the animals. My son loves going.

Barb M

Very natural environment for the animals. They all seem very healthy and well taken care of. The lions and tigers were especially beautiful.

Rick Laljie

The Zoo has a more intimate setting and your actually able to feed animals! Love it!

Kim Brown

This is an awesome zoo. Many animals to see and very clean and well kept. The admission is not crazy money like other places. And the food is also affordable. Thanks for the awesome day. Beautiful day at a beautiful zoo.

Carla Giblin

Absolutely wonderful zoo. The animals are so social and we love that we can feed them from the bucket purchased at entry. Helpful staff and a great way to spend a couple hours with the family. Paths are easy to walk, love the 1 way direction and other COVID protocols. We are local and go multiple times a year, will definitely return this summer!

Deanna Debiasi

LOOOOOVEEE this zoo!!!!! Staff are all super friendly and helpful...you get to feed the giraffes w bananas nd the monkeys nd birds and get reallllyyyy close to all of them which is amazing example today I was at the tiger exhibit with 2 tigers and the orange nd vlack one was running back and forth with a child running up and down as if they were playing and it was the cutest thing ever!!!!! Love watching some animals come out when its feeding time and not seeing them when it wasnt lol just a great educational up close and interactive place!!! Got my first seasons pass for it ever too!!! Havent been since I was very young and I'm now 26 and I love it!!

Haipeng Wang

Not worth the ticket. Bad service.

Nicole Vaillancourt

It's a nice small town zoo in Elmvale. Great for kids and adults too. There's a play ground for the kids.

Tom Kirkpatrick

I'm torn by this place. On one hand I love the zoo, and I love animals, and this location allows you to get very close to them and interact with some of the animals like no other zoo. You can buy little handfuls of food pellets and a banana from the front desk that you are allowed to feed the animals. Which is really cute. But lack of supervision, and general ignorance of some guests means that food or other products are given to the animals. In my time there I watched a family give ice cream, and sugar candies to monkeys, and a baby threw their pacifier into one of the lemur enclosures. This really upset me because these animals should be treated better. And there were not enough staff to prevent it. Speaking of Lemurs they have 4 different exhibits of them. So if they are a personal favorite of yours this is a place for you. They host a showing where they bring out baby animals for guests to meet. This was cute. All animals appear to be healthy and energetic. If they had better supervision of enclosures (which is hard given the size of the zoo) it would be a 5 star from me.

Jessica McMann

Great spot for the kids. Very reasonable prices. Feeding the animals is always fun.

Karen Sims

My granddaughter and I had a fantastic day! Being able to get so close to the animals was awesome! Feeding the giraffes and the zebras was a highlight. Can't wait for our next visit.

Matt Coultes

Really good zoo! You can feed lots of the animals and there's lots of shade on a hot day.

Mary O Fox

Had a great time with my gradsons

B Pel

Great zoo, free parking, lots of amazing animals. It's really nice that you get to feed the animals and the goat enclosure is so sweet. The presentations throughout the day are awesome, interesting, and very informative.

Vanessa Gradon

Love, love, love this Zoo. Other then the concession stand and gift shop being closed it is better then it has ever been. Make sure you bring everything you need because there is no re-entry. ????% buy the food bucket. We LOVED feeding the animals. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.

Rahul Mody

Small zoo which will take around 2hrs with toddler. It has most of the animals there. They provide $10 food bag to feed the animals. We went in the afternoon so many of the big (lion, tiger)animals were sleeping or taking rest. We bought the tickets online. Visitors cannot consume any food inside the zoo or take the food.

Barbara Bradley

Got rained out with thunderstorms, plans to attend have been delayed to a later date.

June Campbell

Beautiful animals ❤ safe environment

Crazygump !

Kids had a blast they loved feeding the giraffes. Only one bathroom available and no gift shop do to covid also no food to buy

Craig Charnley

Old fashioned zoo, which some might consider unethical. Great for short day trips with young children. Inexpensive and opportunities to see animals up close.

Melanie Gillespie

Very Accommodating, had to cancel my booking and was able to re book for the next day! Very friendly and the zoo was very clean. I will definitely be visiting this zoo in the future.

Lindsay Philpott

The big cat enclosures are despicable. Small and inhumane. It’s sick that people are making money off these poor animals. I will never go back.

Jihiean Emma Oh

fun day out. Its more like a farm instead of a zoo but with tigers and lions. saw alot of people throwing bananas at the monkeys when there were signs indicating do not feed animals.. food was not too bad except there was a group of family taking up maybe 3 or 4 benches for lunch. mayb a birthday party? regardless it wouldve been nice if they were freed up during lunch times

Aneki Nissan

Enjoyed our time even with the COVID restrictions.

Lisa Ensor

Good variety of animals to see. Wouldn't mind another washroom facility. Long way to run when a toddler has to go!

Michael Webster

The animals look amazing and well taken care of. Also, the live animal demonstrations are interactive and the kids will love it.

Carla Hounsome

As always, clean and organized. Social distancing was in practice. Animals well cared for. We will be back

Brenda Nadon

Great place for the children to walk through and see a good variety of animals.ĺ

Adam Campisano

Overall good experience. Some of the enclosures seemed a bit small, but the animals seemed to be in good health (I'm no vet). Our 4 yr old really enjoyed himself. We didn't feel rushed to get through and everyone we dealt with was pleasant. Could probably include a bit more food in the $10 bucket for feeding the animals.

Jeff Benson

Very awesome, great for young families. Easy to walk with a stroller. Highly recommended to come out and support the animals

Jessica Dufresne

Always so much fun no matter how many times you go! My kids could go daily and still love every minute.

Da Bucc

Loved it and so did my son. Lots of animal to see without walking for miles. Would easily go back....

Shawna Plummer

We love the Elmvale Zoo. Very well taken cared of animals. Lots of different animals to see. Owners and their staff are great. Reasonably priced.

Melissa

Nice little zoo. Love the shade.

Colin Pow

Great little zoo, good selection of animals but no beavers! Not many places you can feed a giraffe!

Khole Hinrichs

Definitely not a bad zoo at all. Weird that there is absolutely no air conditioned place at the park whatsoever. Especially on a day like today, where it is the hottest day of the year so far feeling like 35° with the humidity lol..

Gord Mattison

Great little place. Staff doing what they can to keep everyone safe. Great Job guys!

Haytham Alkhalidi

A nice farm shaped zoo. Kids will like it. They have little shows for the kids where they get to see the small animals and touch them if they can.

Mark McKaig

Good for the kids.

Andrew Reid

Such a great place to check out! So many amazing animals to see and for sure need to get the bucket of food. Such a great idea for the bucket of food and so much fun to feed the animals.

Ian Walker

They did a very good job during Covid. It's really clean friendly staff. Bathrooms were really clean as well. Only complain I have is some of the cages seem very small for certain animals. Animals need to run and Rome not just sit in a 30 by 30 cage.

andrina depalma

A much smaller zoo than the Toronto one, but still lots of fun. Had a great day there today.

Lindsay Rice

Loved it! My three year old son had a blast! Cant wait to go back.

Casper zack

Great place to take your kids ,great variety of animals and you can see them.up close . I would definitely go back again!!

R S

Its a shame that this zoo will be closing soon. I've heard this year or next but what a shame. Great place for the kiddos to experience animals and zoo experience. Please if you can save the zoo

Amir m

Always a fun time for the entire family! We learn something new every time we come here.

Amir m

Always a fun time for the entire family! We learn something new every time we come here.

Katie Cooper

What a lovely zoo!

Kairi West

Amazing experience! Definitely come for opening. The animals and hungry and you can feed the giraffes bananas! Also the goats are very friendly and my 2 toddlers loved the whole experience! Definitely recommend this zoo.

Kyle Langen

It's perfect for toddlers not too big not too small staff were friendly

Matt Wilson

Fantastic little zoo. At least you can actually see the animals and feed/pet some of them as well. Have been getting a season pass since my son was born. Convenient location so I can just drop in for a quick 30 minute walk to see the animals. The young lemurs will come right out of their enclosure and eat banana right out of your hands. My son thought was the greatest thing ever.

Jonathan Garratt

Lots complain about this and that too small this to sad this.. you know if it wasn't for this awesome place you wouldn't be able to see or experience the animals..very well done we thoroughly enjoyed it... Just like I did when I was a kid.

Kyle Smyth

They take awesome care of the creatures. And super nice staff.

Andrea C

LOVE this zoo. Enjoyed feeding the giraffe

Laura K

Pretty good little Zoo. Takes a couple of hours to walk through and see all the animals. Food selection is limited but decent. I suggest packing snacks especially if you're bringing small children.

Anis Peer

Love this place. Baby lemurs come out of the cages and come close to you to get food. Last couple of years we've been bringing our own food to feed to the animals and it's been great. This year they are charging you $10 for $2 with of food to feed the animals.

Gail Parker

In my opinion this zoo should be closed down, was there last week as my daughter wanted to take her daughter, I was disgusted in the enclosures that these poor animals are in, they are bored to tears. There is nothing in the cages to stimulate them at all, cages are run down overgrown in weeds etc. The large cats have nothing in their enclosures other than dirt, cement,no water baths to play or lay in or tires or large balls just a couple of platforms for them to climb up on. In the tiger enclosure it was so sad one was actually playing with a leaf .this is a very sad place to go to...... do not recommend it at all

Tan

Kids had a absolute blast. Really enjoyed feeding the animals.

Er LeBlanc

Great place to take family, Lot's of shade. Animal's are very well taken care of. The ground's is very well kept & clean. Staff are friendly too. Keep up the Great Work !!!

Laughter is the best Medicine

It was nice still a little depressing. Some cages were overly sized meanwhile the lion cage was severely small, the saddest was the eagle cage. If you can get past the cages and being eaten alive then you'll be ok.

Angie Doyle

Great zoo to walk around with the kids, a ton of shade and the animals are super friendly (giraffes) it’s always a great laugh with the monkeys and Lemurs too!

Sharley Jansen

The enclosures were just horrible when you consider how much money they bring in daily you would think they could afford to do more for the animals that are bringing in that money.

Steph Purkis

Nice that it wasn't super busy compared to Toronto zoo but I feel like they have too many birds and monkeys. No bears, gorillas or hippos. Would take my son here again though for the price and how close it is to my house

M Rodgers

It was pretty sad walking through. The jaguar, Lions and tigers are in small cages, no place to run, the giraffes and zebras are out in the fields, no watering holes or shade. No trees for the giraffes to graze on. The only water access these animals have is a small bowl attached to the fence, which was broken in the Lions den so the cats had no water. Animals were walking through their own feces, it looked as if it hasn't been cleaned in days. Grounds keep staff all loomed around and not very friendly. Only one bathroom throughout the whole park (not very convenien) it also smelled and was dirty. Half the lights weren't working. For a fee of $37 for 2 adults, do yourself a favor and save your money. - a heartbroken and disappointed citizen

Ricki Amsing

It was a great place to see beautiful animals. Some you could feed and others not. Would recommend for a family adventure.

C Alex

Book your tix ahead of time to avoid the line ups.

Khody Bogdan

Awesome place! Super friendly staff and the animals/birds are so cool! Lots to see.

Daria Montague

Loved it! Very intimate atmosphere; small, well planed space. You can interact with the animals and feed them. Friendly stuff, reasonable admission. Must visit and just enjoy, take your time and get to know the animals.

Jess R

Good little zoo, enough animals to occupy the family for a few hours no doubt. Plan your bathroom break, it's at the beginning of the park, dont get caught on the far side and have to go, it's a long way back! Other wise a fun place!

Destiny Fersch

Getting to pet some of the animals like giraffes and alpacas. Getting to feed most of the animals from a bucket that is purchased at the gate. Love the fact that your not in the sun the whole time most of the trails are tree covered

Philip Badour

Great if you like lemurs. Lions, tigers giraffes swans, covid restrictions in effect.

Jessica Dinaro

I went to the zoo on Monday with my 2 little boys, we arrived at 3:59 and where about to get in but a lady to the front door told us "sorry we are close, last admission is at 4" so I told here that it is 4 o clock so they had to let us in! She said the doors was already close so we had to go back all the way to Barrie and my kids cried all the way back! I will never go back to that zoo again! I had to explain to my kids they couldn't see the animals just because somebody wanted to go home early! Really really sad

Sally Fuentes

Great little zoo. Everyone was also very nice. We were able to feed the animals by purchasing the feed bucket.

reina kavanagh

Easy to find. Free parking. Super fun wish we could have stayed longer. Sad pony rides are no longer available, lots of super cute animals though.

Ron Gold

Wonderful zoo. You can get so close to the animals. The giraffe exhibit was our kids' favorite because you can see them up close. The zoo has beautiful lions and many big cats. Excellent family experience.

Jeff AT

We had a wonderful time at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo. Plenty to see and the zoo was very clean. It was only an hour drive for us and easy to find. My kids loved the goats and how you could feed and pet them. Overall a great experience.

Kevin Robbins

This zoo is amazing! The staff takes immaculate care of their animals, the cages are clean, the animals are happy and the walkways are shaded. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. Keep up the good work Elmvale Jungle Zoo!!

Tracy Wait

Beautiful little place, very personal and the price is reasonable.

Jay

Good size zoo for young kids. Covid protocols are easy to follow and make you feel safe while you are visiting.

Peggy Carrier

Very enjoyable.

Brittany Clements

100 a place to go to. It's the perfect ok of you have little ones. You can bring in your own food and they have snacks you can feed the animals.

Natasha MacDuffie

Elmvale Jungle Zoo has adapted well to the pandemic situation. They have made a new trail so it is all one way, no need to back track. You currently can't feed or touch any of the animals. The only issue we faced was the bathrooms are at the beginning and you aren't allowed to backtrack on the one way trail, so just be aware of that. There is also no re-entry allowed at this time. Still love our little zoo and will be returning soon!

Philip D'Andreamatteo

Great family zoo, able to get close to all animals.

Wayne Middleton

Our grandkids really loved the animals, especially the monkeys and lions.

Colleen Hill

Our favourite local zoo! We love going every year! Feeding the animals is so fun and my kids enjoy it.

andrew shantz

Always a great time at Elmvale zoo. Organized and clean.

Just Me7

Wonderful zoo. Though not as big as Toronto zoo, you could see many of the animals up close. It's now my favorite zoo.

Stacey Salvati

My family prefers this zoo to other larger ones. You can get through the whole zoo in a couple hours if you need or you can leisurely stroll through. Admission doesn’t break the bank.

Cathy

Grandkids loved it, tins of animals, great set-up.

Dominic Boland

Really nice zoo, lots of different animals. Had a great time there, you can get up close with all the different animals.

miss V

Always enjoy our annual visit!

Nancy Monk

Love this place but in need of some serious landscaping and larger pens for some of the animals. The Giraffe enclosure is a family favorite. Hard to see some of the parrots as their enclosures are overgrown. Food is good, staff is friendly and helpful. We go every year to support this wonderful walk through nature!

fawaz khoshaba

Very friendly staff, half the price of Toronto zoo. Paid $70 for 2 kids and 2 adults. Plenty of animals to see. Not too long of a walk to see the animals.

shan shang

Absolutely best zoo. My daughter loves it.

Joe Cargnello

Great family friendly zoo!

Max L

Great place to spend time with family. You are able to feed the animals and they aren’t afraid to come close to you. Great pandemic measures too.

Janis Wheatley

Love it!!! This is our second time going and my kids are obsessed with feeding the animals. Cannot wait to go again.

Reinhold Vieth

A really nice surprise. A great place to visit!

Denmar Logistics Inc

Took our 19 month Grandson. Had the best day in a very long time. Lots of animals to see. The staff were fantastic. Spent 4 hours if enjoyment. Recommend this little Gem.

Alex

Best Zoo in the area. Lots of animals, which are very easy to see. You can feed and pet a giraffe and many other animals. Trails are nice. And its amazing for kids.

Joan Kirby

Very clean . Lovely trail to walk. Animals appear healthy..would not hesitate to recommend to families and children of all.ages.

Tian Li

A hidden gem located an hour away from Toronto. Found it en route to Awenda Provincial Park. Not a huge zoo, it takes about two hours to walk through the entire place, but it's time well spent.

Clayton Thorkelson

Great place for the kids. About 3 hours (give or take) was enough for us to see the exhibits and have our toddlers run around (where acceptable).

Mario

My family and I had a great time. Trees provided a lot of shade and added to the “jungle” feel. We will definitely be going back!

Shelia Shouldice

It was so much fun the animals are wonderful went with my 2 little granddaughters and their mom will definitely go again

Hung G

Great family outting. Plenty of shade through walking through the zoo.

Phil Steward

Great place for the family, amazing variety of animals. In addition, there is affordable food, affordable gifts, and a nice animal show!

Terri Turner

We came to the zoo Friday at 2pm only to find it was closed. There was nothing posted on the website or when we called. After driving for a couple of hours to see it, it was VERY disappointing. This place needs better communication with the public paying to see it.

Lisa Anthony

So much fun. Friendly staff.

Curtis Porath

Took my 1 year old here and she had a blast. Being able to feed some animals by hand was a great experience for her.

Ange Dufour

We had a great day here!

Bob Montgomery

Lots of fun. Get up close to the animals. You can feed them too. Cool experience feeding a giraffe

Josee Leblanc

This was a very sad experience for us. Usually after a family activity we all discuss which parts were our favorites. Leaving here the ride home was silent with 4 kids. The animal pens and cages are quite small and dirty. No watering holes for most of the animals just very small and dirty bowls attached to the fences. I felt very bad for these animals aND couldnt wait to leave. Worst zoo I've ever seen. Quite heartbreaking actually!!

Kate Anne Barber

Great place to take the little ones for the day. Prices are reasonable for entry and for lunch. Kids can go back to school saying they fed a giraffe!

Susan Fulton

Great zoo to take the kids to. Not hard to get around and a great variety of animals.

Idrees Ahmed

This was a wonderful place for my children. its definitely worth it. They had lots of animals to see which kept the kids happy. There tigers were very interesting.

C H

I love this place! Feeding all the animals makes it so interactive. Its probably my favorite zoo. All the animals look well taken care of and happy.

Liisa Epstein

Clean and well-run. Friendly staff and a huge variety of animals. An interactive and enjoyable experience! Bring a wagon or stroller for tired kids!

Amanda Swinburne

had an amazing time at this zoo. so much to see and do very enjoyable for younger children! less walking as it's a smaller zoo then say Toronto which was nice no cranky tired out kids. we did a round caught one of the shows had a picnic then went around again (kids in a wagon the second time) it was a lot of fun!

Donny Woods

Best Zoo EVER. You can get up close and personal with the animals, the staff is also very nice and accommodating, and everything is kept very clean. It has all the animals that the Toronto Zoo has (except the aquarium), and you don't need to walk 70 kms to see them all. I highly recommend that you experience what it has to offer, guaranteed you'll be back - many times. ????????????????????????????

Michael Sirois

We had a good time here. It was nice to able to feed the animals. We were to get pretty close to a lot of them.

Roman Gondarchyn

Great place to bring your offspring.

Jim Manley

A wonderful family run zoo - really helpful friendly staff, lovely set up, great location with a wide range of animals - they even help breed animals near extinction!!! Great place to take the family - children love it too!!! Lots to do for everyone!!! We will be going back very soon!!!

Tammy Callewaert

On our 15 hour trip to Hamilton from North Western Ontario, we took the detour to Elmvale Zoo. It was our daughter's dream to feed and pet a giraffe! It was pouring rain and we got soaked but had an amazing time. Thank you for making this possible. ????????❤

Sujay Sasalatti

Not worth the money, was not really excited... African lion safari is far better than this. I would go to Toronto zoo They do not accept group discounts, it has to be booked weeks prior to redeem the discount ! Very disappointed

Scott Baldry

This zoo is small but has lots of things for kids to do. It is not too big and yet too small. It only takes a couple of hours but is still good value for the money. You always see animals and the majority of the time they are up close. Small petting zoo area that the kids liked. Small playground that some of our grandkids enjoyed.

Karen Piazza

Amazing time. My 5 year old daighter loved it!

Summer Freeman

Enjoyed the zoo, I could have stayed longer had my 4 yr old not been impatient. We will see you next year. Loved all the animals.

ruby sedore

Super experience, staff were friendly and helpful. The animals were well taken care of. You could get up close and feed some of the animals. Around every corner was another animal, you didn't have to walk all day to see it all. It took about an hour and a half to enjoy the zoo. As soon as you enter you are greeted by a cockatoo and when you leave he bids you "bye bye." Price was affordable. Loved it, I highly reccomend going and I will be going again as well. Thank you to the staff for caring for the animals. Great work!!!

Na Per

Great place to take the kids. You get a close up view of the animals and can interact with them. I would rate the experience as better than the Toronto Zoo. There are lots of animals and it's larger than i thought. Also the walk was great with lots of shaded areas.

Sarah Johnstone

Awesome zoo! So many different animals. They've got a petting zoo where kids and even adults can pet and feed the miniature goats. They have food and drinks and picnic areas. Great place to take the family.

Heather Hooper

Great little zoo! The kids enjoyed and so did the adults :) Prices were reasonable.

Erni M

The Elmvale Zoo is first rate when treating guests during the Covid 19 challenge. A friendly greeting, attention to the reserved time and keeping everything ordered was great. Of course the animals where in top form knowing that every time is show time. They lose one star because they don’t reuse the animal feed bucket which could easily be sanitized for re-use and no access to washrooms as you are about to leave. They know if these short comings and are working to solve the. All in all The Elmvale Jungle Zoo morning a a great operation.

Claudia Tran

Great little zoo. Especially families with small children. My husband and I went with our little ones and we liked that it was big enough for the babies to enjoy it. We liked it too.

Claudia L Mendez

Excellent for young kids

Rob Eby

Luv ed ❤???? it grandchildren did too!!!!

Hilary Keller

My family LOVES this place. It's fun for toddlers to adults. Great variety of animals and plenty of opportunity for interaction. We really enjoy the giraffes and miniature goats. Helpful staff, free parking, playground equipment for children to enjoy, picnic tables to enjoy a picnic (you can bring a lunch or buy snacks at the on-site canteen). An awesome way to spend a summer afternoon.

Charlotte Lloyd

Have been here many times. Great place for kids and adults. Lots of animals and live animals shows.

Brent B

A little pricey and only having one place to get food or drink on the compound makes for a long wait. With that said my 3 year old and 10 year old had fun and that is the main thing. Feeding the Giraffe was the high point for my 3 year old.

Irene Green

A wonderful time with the grandkids. Very entertaining!

Jake Love

Definitely better then the Toronto zoo. Some animals come out and greet you out of the cage

Megu M

Great zoo especially for smaller kids (not too big). But super interactive. Feeding the animals was my favorite part.

Chris Tanner

My wife and I like taking our kids once a year. The kids love feeding the animals. They also have cool zoo shows a few times a day.

Krista Rutledge

Love this place! Very clean and well maintained. Visit a few times each season. Will continue to return!!!

Kristin Baker

Enjoyed the zoo today with my 3 daughters, had an awesome time. Nice relaxed environment, fun interactive animals.

Sarah Trudeau

My 2 year old loves it, I bought a season pass as it pays for itself in three visits! The food is decently priced for a nice lunch.

Deborah B

This is a great zoo for the little ones. It is walkable and has lots of animals the kids know. They sell food to feed the animals. Kids love that the giraffe and other animals come and eat from your hands. Well worth the money.

W Hipel

We love this place, we take the kids every year. The new set up for covid is really nice. Not too crowded and a smooth path to follow through the park. Clean and the animals all seem happy.

Jennifer Bechan

Honestly we walked in with lots excitement as we could see a couple monkeys swinging infront of our parked truck. 1 adult three children 3 buckets of food $94 for 1.5 hours stretched. We were told use the bathroom by the flimagos as there is no others, not once we're we told that you can't go around twice. So basically what they do is accept so many families at a specific time that were walking in groups on top of eachother. So when I told my children we will come back to the giraffe and saved food for them because there was to many people at one place (4/5 families) we were unable too. Staff follow and watched us like we were thiefs, sat on the fence watching us. Lions pacing back and forth, other animals only had one little patch of shade they had to squeeze in, small cages, board animals if I had to guess, bald eagles space was overtaken with trees how does he stretch his wings, smells awful in some places. Did not check our bags or ask us to complete covid screening. Definitely not worth $100 for 1.5 hours disappointed, seems like a cash grab to get as many people in and out as quick as possible. We drove an hour and then minutes definitely never again.

Martin Whyte

Good view of animals clean park healthy animals

Michael Bruce

Always a great visit. Variety of animals, friendly staff and a wonderful scenic path through the property. Great for kids and parents alike. Been going there for over 30 years and always go back. One of the treasures of Simcoe County.

A Mulder

Always love this new. Very hands on with the animals, and they all look pretty happy. Only complaint is the cages look like they should be fixed up and all the foiledge trimmed and lots of trees cut .

Catherine Morin

Great little zoo, 1st time we went and wont be the last one ????

Rose Lee

Amazing staff and even more amazing animals! Always wanted to come here and finally did and was not disappointed! You can get up and close with the animals but safety protocols are well in place. Would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

cindy kirkpatrick

We have loved visiting this zoo for many years! A wide variety of healthy, happy animals and you can get up close to them! The walking path is shaded in spots to keep everyone comfortable. Always staff available and they are very knowledgeable. Family friendly, clean and inviting establishment! A must on your summer fun list!

Nicole Ashford

It's a great place to go

Will Donaldson

Great place to visit. Big variety of animals. My little one loved hand feeding the animals. This place is exceptional for young children. They get the perfect amount of tired while visiting the entire zoo.

Anthony Jones

Great experience, good amount of animals. You can actually see the animals. Staff was friendly. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout the zoo... I would definitely go back

Matthew Sturino

Great place for the whole family

Hillary Handy

Love the Elmvale Zoo. Perfect for all ages. Great variety of animals. Animal Show presentations are awesome and intimate. This is a family-run zoo. It opens May 24 Long weekend and runs until Thanksgiving. Worth it to purchase a seasons pass if you live close. It has small play structure for kids and great picnic area. You can also purchase food on site.

Gilad Lazarovich

Small and out of the way but enjoyable. Our visit was very short due to closure when lightning strikes started, no refund policy, we ran through most of the zoo

Katelyn Hill

Went there in June and honestly was so happy with my experience. I had 3 kids with me (5, 4 and 2 years of age) and it was such a great experience. Everything organized and kept clean. Still got to walk around and enjoy looking at the animals. It felt like the most normal thing we’ve done since all this COVID-19 has started. They turned it into a one way, and the washroom is cleaned after every use! Call ahead to book a time so not everyone is going on at the same time and still so much room for walking on the paths to see the animals. Can’t wait to come back !!

J J

Has all the animals you want to see at a zoo except for elephants.

Lila Horsman

It's a great place to take kids to learn about different birds and animals.

Stephanie V

Great little zoo close to cottage area. Best part of the zoo is that you can feed a bunch of the animals, including the giraffes. $10 for a bucket of food for the animals is well worth it. Can do the zoo in as quick as 1 hour or up to 3 hours depending on your pace. Eat before or bring a lunch with you, snack bar is very limited.

Judy Graham

We had an awesome time. The white lions are wonderful but the highlight was the pregnant zebra. We saw the baby moving in her belly. Thank you for a terrific day.

James Maglietta

It's a decent little zoo with a moderate amount of animals. It's generally not too busy and it certainly will not take you a full day to see everything. You can feed most of the animals by purchasing pre-approved food items from the facility. The only downside is that most of the animals look depressed. Caged bald eagels just doesn't seem right. The jaguars kept pacing back and forth, as if they were going stir crazy.

Casey Tanaka

Look at those tiny cages you have your animals in… this is COMPLETELY unethical and should be illegal.

Brendan O'Connell

Beautiful setting. Walking on paths surrounded by nature from one animal to another. Price is reasonable and feeding the giraffes was priceless.

Gord Weatherup

Perfect for taking a 2 year old to. Lots to see but can be done in a couple hours

Richard

A place everyone should go, to see animals, especially with kids. Not the biggest zoo, but is has a really nice set of animals, 2 to 3 of each kind, a nice trail setup in the forrest with plenty of shadows and cool air (1/5 is more open areas, at the begining). It was okay to be there during this hot weather of 35 C. Animals are active i often pose to peoples pics, same are not, but an eagle is the king in this matter! One can buy a food to feed animals ($10 per bucket if I remember!), get it while paying for tickets. Bathrooms are clean. Make a reservation in advance, if you want to get in now, or they will not let you in (covid resons)! Less busy now, because of that!. Plenty of parking spots with few entrances/exits. Reserve yourself at least 2 -3 hrs for a visit. Yes, I would recommend this place! It was our 1st visit there, and not the last one! People (visitors) were nice, keeping the distance, not blocking the view. The zoo has a rule, that everyone is moving one way, so not going back, this was not a problem for us. Enjoy this place, while you can.

D. L.

I give this attraction 4/5 stars. We requested tickets two weeks in advance, which I suggest you take into account after the crazy covid pandemic, there is Limited admission into the zoo. We came first thing in the morning and there was no line up in. When we left around noon there was a big line up to get in. You can only walk in one direction. There’s only one toilet trailer open at the entrance and no others along the way. There was also no gift shop set up which I would of liked to purchase a little trinket. But I understand that during these troubling times it would be hard to disinfect and ensure everyone’s safety. Other than that, it’s reasonably priced, and fun for the entire family.

Natalia Daskalov

Big enough to house all the cool animals like Jaguars, giraffes, and bisons… and by the end of it the family is not exhausted from walking. There are buckets of food available for purchase to feed the animals :)

Sachin G

it's a very good visit . Kids really enjoy the place. Only problem is some of the animals including the Monkeys and Leopards are kept in very small cages and you can feel the discomfort on their faces.

Chris Kostyc

Decently priced. Fun for the whole family, especially young children; makes a great "get out of the house for a bit" trip for parents. Make sure you buy some food for the animals, give the animals a snack and support your local zoo.

James Rosin

Was a good place for kids to go and felt like a kid again myself going. Would go again

Robin Jagodics

Nice shaded trails to walk along. Can easily see everything in under 2 hours. Kids love being able to feed the animals along the way.

Kyle Shoemaker

Very interesting ????

Mike Pierce

I went during covid-19 2020 JUNE 14. Their public health measures were good. Although it's a bit depressing to see animals locked in enclosures, I'm happy to support the zoo, as they play a part in conservation, and educating the youth.

CJ Rutledge

Great staff and a friendly place. They have put forth an amazing effort to keep people safe during COVID. Our visit yesterday was an amazing experience for my 3 year old daughter. Please be nice to the staff they are incredible. I had to witness some jerk yelling at staff at the end of our visit because he didnt agree with social distancing and rules that were set by the health unit in our area. The poor lady was verbally absued but remained professional thoughout the encounter. Thank you Elmvale Zoo for an amazing experience and don't let Covidiots get you down.

EFRAIM GOLDFISCHER

Great place to visit the zoo in the summer lots of animals

Courtney Star

I love this Zoo???? it's got a lot of shaded areas as you walk through to see the animals ????it's a perfect place to bring your children for a family outing.????????

Meagan MacInnis

Very small family owned zoo, lots of up close encounters. Feed a giraffe, fun animal show.

Jim Maltby

It's a family summer tradition. My mom took us every year, when we were kids. Now I take my own kids.

Khuram Malik

Great place to roam around and look at the interesting animals. The owners are very friendly and we in laws come here every year for so many years, their like family to them. They have lots of different exotic animals and birds.

Michelle Stanislaus

We were very disappointed with our visit to the Elmvale Zoo on July 13, 2021, 3:20 pm timeslot. There were four people in our party and we only made it to the first 3 cages, 5 minutes in, before we encountered torrential rain and the zoo had to close. We knew we weren't going to get a refund but asked if we could get a raincheck for the following day as we were on vacation visiting Orillia and were told straight out no, this was not an option. We also found the person we spoke with, who seemed to be operating the zoo that day, had an abrasive response to our request. We were told there was nothing they can do for us as they got yelled at in the past by the owner when refunds were given. We were not asking for a refund but was hoping to get an opportunity to explore the zoo the following day, weather permitting. I know Covid-19 has altered our lives but didn't realize it also affected our humanity. Elmvale Zoo needs to revisit their definition of good customer service. That said, we really enjoyed our visit to Orillia as we did not let the visit to the zoo ruin our vacation.

Alison Moffat

My first time visiting this Zoo and it was awesome. Great place for kids we loved it. It is a walk around Zoo but it's not too bad and there is lots of shade. Plenty of animals to see just bring drinks, there is only one small shaded place to have your snacks. We had food before we entered so it was perfect. The Zoo does not allow picnics so check with them before you enter. :) You have to book online and pick a time slot.

Sonic Boom

Not a very big zoo, but had a pretty large variety of animals for it's size, take your time when visiting this zoo, at a fast pace one can get through it in about an hour.

Thomas Syndikus

Great place for a nice relaxing time with animals. Kids loved it! They've done a lot of work to keep visitors safe during this pandemic. Great time!
