You will be able to see all the information of real people who buy the products of Ecomuseum Zoo (Zoo) in the area of Argentia (Canada).
As of day the firm gets a score of 4.4 stars over 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is really positive, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is very reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their opinion when they are happy, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is included in the category of Zoo.
Loved the layout and design of this place. Great place for a family to visit with kids. Very clean and friendly staff. I would recommend it.
Reasonably priced entry. Staff was courteous and all of the animals seemed happy. Coming from the US it was refreshing to see animals in their (semi) natural environment. There was not a fake rock or tree to be seen.
Must visit at least once with family.
Awesome place to go with family… super clean and quiet! Will visit again !
Love the whole concept. The enclosures impressed me. I highly recommend going at least once to make up your own mind.
Fun place, knowledgeable staff and amazing animals
This is the zoo of zoos! The animals which live here are native to Canada instead of transplanted from other countries. Additionally most of the animals have an accompanying story on a plaque in front of the exhibit to explain where they were rescued from. It's not the largest of places, but definitely worth the trip for an outdoor date during Covid!
I love that they are helping animals in an open area (animals aren't cramped). They've recently renovated and the whole place looks great! I also love the activities for kids for Easter. I've gone every year since I was little and I bring my baby sisters now!
New, WIFI for whole zoo. Still only one washroom for whole place. Still bummed about the natural bones, skeletons, skulls, whale gills, teeth, horns and skins they removed. Only to put up a useless monstrosity of nitch with factoids of animals. New this year they closed off a large section of trail boardwalk. The whole section of hawks and owls. Which is now a dead end at the eagles. Was not fun to find out while sprinting to reach washrooms at entrance. We had a great day. Other times day camps were also there on family day, which was extremely tight. Both for parking, and cafeteria/lunch hall.
Samll but kids love to be here
Still a great place to visit in November, lots of animals to see. The staff was great and supportive for the young boy 's birthday party
Nice zoo. There were many offsprings when we went which was very pleasant to watch. The animals appear to be well treated. Not very expensive; a relaxing and affordable place to spend time with your family if you have young children. Highly recommended.
Nice place, well kept, wildlife conservation and museum. Had a good time.
It is the coolest place for kiddo. Most of animals weren't there..
The safari was useless. But I really felt bad when I saw birds were tied so they can't move or fly within the cage. They are stuck at the same place for all day. I liked the tigers and lions.
far too many visitors allowed in the park at the same time made it impossible to keep a safe distance from others throughout.
Nice little zoo with various local, native species. Great for kids. Set aside about two hours for a full visit.
A nice place but we were disappointed by the fact that we couldn't see most of the animals. The setup makes it really easy for them to hide in a corner where you won't be able to see them clearly or at all.
First time there has a great time but its still cold so animals were hiding Need to come back another day in summer to enjoy the zoo
Beautiful and important refuge to those animals.
Educational place. And lots of animals. Staff seems to be all fully bilingual and ready to stop to explain what you're seeing
I’ve always loved the Ecomuseum, my mum would take my sister and I there fairly regularly as kids and when I went back after a few years I loved it just as much as I did when I was a kid, great way to spend an afternoon
It was the worse zoo I have ever visited Not much animals available. Route is not organized to follow and is not baby strollers friendly. The site is not equipped to have such zoo in a very condensed forest where animals can hide for ever .
They only take in local animals that need help and couldn't survive in the wild. That being said, the installations are spacious and stimulating place for the animals. It's a great place for a family members. It is also affordable.
We loved. Not too far, not too crowded (monday) so perfect for us!
Check feeding schedule before as animals may be asleep right after and you will not see anything. Good fun for kids. Unpaved trails. A bigger wheel stroller is recommended.
Very nice, they have good goals and seem to take good care of the animals, but the walk is a little confusing and they seem to have cut down many trees for some unknown reason
Perfect for young kids
We had so much fun at this outdoor zoo. Sometimes it's difficult to find the animals but it's still lots of fun. The kids will love it.

In theory the place is great. Unfortunately, it was over packed, some people didn't have a mask on although it was asked at the entrance but not continuously check throughout the park. It was uncomfortable and extremely busy for a pendemic time. Also you have a time slot for you when the buy the tickets but people seem to linger and made the experience strange. Bumping into people was not something I expected.
What can I say about the Ecomuseum that hasn't already been said? The Ecomuseum is an absolutely wonderful place. From the wonderfully charming staff to the way the animals are evidently living the best lives they possibly could be given, every inch of this place is incredible. I've been coming here with my family since I first moved here from the UK in 2000 and I fully intend on bringing my own children here one day when I have them.
Zoo located in West Island. They keep wildlife animals linked to Quebec area and can’t be returned to the wild. Pleasant to walk with kids on a family day.
They closed their indoor exhibits 'because of covid' lol. Literally every indoor amenity (restaurants, gyms, theaters) have reopened but not ecomuseum. Yet their prices are the same so you're paying full price for fewer exhibits, funny how that works. Covid is just an excuse for them to make and save more money.
Good place for a walk and to see some wildlife. Unfortunately the animals do not have sufficient shelter on hot days and not enough room.
Interesting in overall. Some animals were not visible from their enclosures. Many slept or were very few assets. The whole site is in a natural environment, and enclosures are adapted for each species found on site. I must admit that the admission price is high for what they have to offer. However, for families, they offer the opportunity to purchase annual subscriptions and even lifetime subscriptions! In general, I enjoyed visiting the zoo for two reasons. The first is because of its location, that is to say, the only zoo on the island of Montreal. The second is for its environment that allows us to change from the ''regular'' style of a zoo, like the Safari Park or the Granby Zoo. I might go back to the Ecomuseum next year to see the new residents of the zoo.
Nice place but the woman I push in a wheelchair fell on the ground soooo many times it results in severe injuries and traumatismes but the wolf were really cute. Kids were really annoying too and in the way, but staffs told us that we couldn't throw them in the bear enclosure and they rescued all of them.
Love going here! Staff is really nice and animals are treated very well here.
Beautiful place to go and observe Quebec's wildlife. It has lots of trees that keeps it nice and cool on hot days.
Excellent family spot, kids loved seeing the different animals and they are renovating to add more.
Pretty boring. Not much to see, lots of people and very expensive for the experience. The guys working there did nothing but tell us to stand 2 meters apart non stop. Nothing about the animals. People giving good reviews are only doing so because either they are sheltered from the planet and have never seen real attractions or they're talking about the good treatment of animals which doesnt improve the experience as a paying customer. This place should simply be a sanctuary, not a "zoo".
Nice place, but small...there are not enough animals...some were hybernating.. our last visit.was a bit deceiving
Better time to visit, when they feed the animal
Love the effort to help local animals in need while allowing us to see them and get to know how they live and their needs
Maybe this review will be a little biased, since I love it so much I have a yearly membership but yes, always a relaxing outing. The advantage of a membership is that you may not get a chance to see all the animals on one visit but it always makes for a nice walk.
Have visited several times. Bought annual memberships husband and wife.
As always a great day with my grandson. This is one of the best places to spend time with kids outside in the Montreal area.
Great place to go with the family and have a nature walk and see animals that are local to Quebec. The staff are always friendly and will always talk and answer any questions you have. They have made a lot of updates to the zoo in the last few years, don't miss the duck enclosure and of course the otters.
Excellent place. Great service. Small and quiet sanctuary.
Felt sad for animals because they're basically trapped but when you learn than they're saved from terrible situations and would otherwise not survive, you suddenly get newfound appreciation and respect. Too bad I can't add videos to my post. Thanks for doing what you guys do.
Great family fun!
It was a very nice place to visit,,, granted it was really hot and alot of the animals were sleeping,,, I did however get so e great shots of the cutest otter ever. Peace out and pay it forward everyone.
Biggest perk is that it is it right here in Montreal, otherwise small zoo, takes about 2 hours to visit. Always a hit with kids

Lovely. Not overly crowded. Reconstruction of natural habitat of North American animals. Kids love it.
Our son loves it. None of the guilt that comes with bigger zoos. It can get crazy busy at times. Best to go on a cold gray day.
Honestly, this place is super fun and perfect for families. What's great about it as well is that the animals are always active, so if you were to go once a week it would always be different.
Located in the West Island of Montreal, a walk in to the nature with variety of animals closely to their habitat (caged). Great outing for family or anyone who has 2-3 hours to spare for ecological knowledge.
It's always been a place I enjoy going too, it's very nice and peaceful. Although I do find often many animals are sleeping and you don't get to see them. It's also not a huge place so you get through it pretty quickly which makes the admission cost seem pretty high for me
Didnt find moose, beaver etc... but my daughter (4yo) had lots of fun especially when the river otter came very close to her. Will go there again...
Bring your own lunch. Price for admission was great, very friendly staff and was a completely wonderful adventure!
Not many animals during winter, most will be inside hibernating.
Great locale, friendly knowledgeabke staff.
Nice small zoo with a lot of Quebec's wildlife. Good winter as summer, good for families
Avoid visiting in Summer. They let the vegetation grows as to recreate a "natural environment ", the result is that most animals are invisible.
Lovely time. Animals are beautiful!
A beautiful and peaceful destination for kids and adults alike. Lots of animals in a lovely wooded setting, including wolves, caribou, porcupines, turtles and snakes. All native to Canada. The walking path is generally stroller and wheelchair friendly. But bring water and make sure kids use the bathrooms at the entrance because there are no facilities for either past the entrance, at least none that I could find.
The team is extremely knowledgeable and the animals are visibly well taken care of. You are not guaranteed to see all of the animals during your visit as some are socially shy or are napping (which I hope every visitor can understand), but the overall experience is wonderful. That being said, we were lucky enough to see the otters in a playful mood!
Amazing place to take kids especially in the summer when all the animals are out of hibernation. All the animals are rescues and are being cared for very well by the staff.
I have the same animals in my backyard.
Great and amazing
A hidden gem! It's hard to believe this place is actually in Montréal, you feel like you are in the wild! Wonderful variety of animals, and even a reptile exhibit, totally worth it if you have kids!
Definitely not as large a place as I thought. Hoped for more. Can walk the whole place in less than 2 hours. And that's taking our time.
Nice for kids
It's a nice place for children and adults. It would be nice if they had more animals.
Super nice Zoo with a lot of things to see and to do especially for kids. We really enjoyed the day. We will come back for sure!
Excellent collection of well taken care of birds, reptiles, small and large mammals. Great place to see the harvang des neiges (snow owl), Arctic short-legged fox, reindeer, wolves, bobcats, bald eagle, otters, (rascally!) racoons, and many more... Though the zoo has a lot of plant and animal species, it is quite walkable and I enjoy the relatively manageable size.
The zoo is lovely. We went during the animals lunch time at about 1pm and saw some animals eating. Our favorites are the American porcupine, and the reptile/amphibian room.
You won’t see some of the animals (like the red fox) but you will see the artic foxes, lynx, ducks, the wolf and coyote, etc. It got a bit boring after an hour and a half but overall they take good care of the animals. Some of the enclosures are a bit small, like the wolf and coyote’s area. It’d be better if they had a bigger space to run but overall I feel good about supporting a sanctuary like this. Much better than going to a real zoo and seeing depressed lions and giraffes imported from Africa. Wild animals belong in the wild. Thank you to the staff for taking care of these rescues! ????
Lots of parking available, short walking distance from parking lot. Admission price is fair seeming it goes back to the animals. Saw the 1:30 otter show/feeding and it was great. The girl hosting the show kept it fun and educational for kids
It is a good place to visit, but there is not much animals to see. Although, it is an awesome nature view and has a picnic area.
This is a great choice for a peaceful place.
Little neat zoo on the island of Montreal. On average visits last about two hours; one and a half hours outdoors and another thirty minutes indoors. The length of your stay will depend how long you stay to look at the animals. This Zoo is open every day all year long it only closes on December 25th.
An absolutely lovely zoo displaying a variety of local fauna, many of which are rescues. I simply can't give them enough praise for the fantastic work they do. The zoo has remodeled and expanded beautifully since my last visit. Well worth a visit every time.
Very nice one.
It s not recommended in the summer time, we went at the end of July in the afternoon time and it was disappointing, my brothers kids got sad and tired. We couldn't see any animal and it was only walking in hot weather. All animals disappeared...I don't know why they are open at this time of the year. It doesn't deserve the tickets price...maybe in winter or spring season it would be bette to visit it....
Great activity, and especially on a free Sunday. Personally we found the animal enclosures a fair bit small.
Nice zoo. I have been there in November and I think it must be much more better in a summer. Although the cold weather there were nice animals.
I really enjoyed this place..
Nice but winter visit not so exciting
We went there with our kids for easter egg hunting. Each of our kids received a small card with animal signs on it, which they were supposed to colour based on the signs they saw along the route. No chocolate eggs to collect, only one medium size chocolate bunny at the end of the visit. There were very few animals and there was face painting with a long wait. Find tickets very pricey considering what we saw inside and would definitely not recommend this to anyone.
Nice place to go where your kid can see, learn and discover a little more about Québec’s wildlife.
Went for Easter their was some kind of game for kids and they got a watermelon candy cane and a chocolate bunny. We saw a lot of different animals without using googles ;) It’s not a large zoo which makes it possible without a stroller for 2-3 years old kids.
This is truly a great alternative for a good Zoo experience on the island of Montreal. They have a nice variety of north american animals, and fact sheets that educate the visitors very well. Not expensive and close by ! So what are you waiting for ?
Fun easter hunt for kids and nice walk to see animals! Stories about how these animals were saved are interesting too!
It's a nice place. The animals are beautiful. There are some animals that are in smaller spaces than you'd like to see them in. But they seem well cared for
The facilities are very nice. I wish there was more staff present because I saw children climbing fences and bothering the animals.
A great place to go with your kids or just by yourself to experience and see what kind of animals the St. Lawrence Lowlands can hold. Whether it is reptiles, fish, birds or mammals, this rehabilitation zoo has something to offer for almost everybody! As a plus the prices are quite cheap for the vast variety of vertebrate species they have!
Really fun place to go with the family.
No wait
Not the most impressive zoo; no lions, tigers, etc.
A great place to visit on a warm winter afternoon with the family. The kids had a wonderful time. This place has been upgraded significantly since I went last time as a child, so it was a real surprise how far it has come. Highly recommended.
Amazing zoo. The wolves were beautiful and all animals look like they're having a good time. Most exhibits are made for them to not feel like they are in a cage. Mostly local species but worth the time.
A nice place to visit for a couple of hours with the kids. I would have liked more of a personal touch with details of all the individual animals living there (names, DOBs, origin story). The wolves and coyote howling was so neat to witness. My kids fell in love with the 3 otters who were hamming it up for the visitors and who had by far the best and innovative habitat. Worth a visit but pricey ($51 for 1 adult, 1 senior, 2 kids).
Their mission is heart warming. It is fun to see all these amazing rescued animals. I make it a mission to visit at least once a year just to encourage them. A humble little zoo with a lot of heart.
Fun for the whole family. Entry fee is low and the animals are well taken care of. They get really close and aren't afraid of visitors. The enclosures are spacious and replicate well the natural habitats.
From Bald eagles to black bears they have a lot of North American animals. Fish, snakes, turtles, coyoties, wolves, birds, and much more.
Nice place for kids. Much more humane than a regular Zoo
Great place to take kids who love animals - great way to see animals in natural habitats. The animals are rehabilitated so its nice to see them enjoying themselves - not like a zoo where the animals are in cages - here they have plenty of things to make them feel at home.
A hidden gem in the West Island! Very cool spot to check out a great selection of animals, all year round!
The otters were the best part of the day, I’m a super big animal activist and I’ve never been here, so I wanted to check out the animal sanctuaries but all I could do was feel bad. The birds don’t have much room to fly, the animals are all guarded by an electric fence and a lot of the animals look sick and malnourished. The otters were super friendly and amazing, much more sociable than I thought, I understand how this place could be a good learning ground for kids to observe and read about animals and their habitat but I still feel pretty guilty. 3/5 ????
Small but great! There weren’t many animals to look at but it’s a fun activity to do with the family especially for younger children. The zoo is filled with native animals to go back and provides a rescue and refuge for these animals.
Lovely place to take a nature walk with the family. We didn't get to see a lot of animals (possibly because we went late afternoon during the pandemic) but we saw foxes, wolves, ravens, carribou and some smaller animals. Definitely a must see if you have kids or love animals!
A very nice place to start children biology first lessons ;) Nice landscaping and good services and facilities, overall, for a place like that on the island of Montreal, a good place to spend a half day when the weather is nice.
We had an otter slide down the falls, it was cute. Big ravens, too. We heard loud frogs in the ponds, beautiful black and orange birds.
Loved the ducks they were so fun to watch
One a our favorite places to visit as a family.
Good enclosures for the animals. Great walking trails that are clearly marked.
A lovely sanctuary for indigenous creatures.
I didn't personally visit. But my son was happy about the birthday party he was invited to. The place is a bit messy due to the ongoing construction/expansion.
A really fun adventure to have but costs a little too much for what they offer when I was there!
Very well organized, even when there is a lot of people, it's still nice to go there. Better by your ticket online to bypass the line.
I would love to give them better review, unfortunately I cannot.
It was fun for the kids - I would recommend going in the warmer months for two reasons: animals are not hibernating and pathways are not covered in ice. If you are bringing a stroller, you need one with big wheels or a wagon to get over the ice, snow and slush. Staff was friendly, it was clean and a well visited place for schools. A little expensive, even with the winter discounted prices, for the experience. The interior exhibit for reptiles and amphibians is downstairs, there is no visible elevator, so you will need to leave strollers upstairs. Parking is free - a plus in my books.
Cool place! Worth the visit!
Enclosures were lush and large. Animals all appeared healthy and well kept. Would go again.
there are otters. do i need to say anything more to convince you that this place is great? no i dont. because otters.
Educational place. And lots of animals. Staff seems to be all fully bilingual and ready to stop to explain what you're seeing
Totally got ripped off on this one. Zoo is not well maintained which make animals harder to see. After talking to staff we were told that animal are hiding due to hot weather. So if that is the case then why is zoo open? People don't pay to see grass and empty pools of water! Save your money and go to Gramby Zoo.
Even though everything was covered by a foot (30cm) of snow... it was great seeing animals like Caribou, Lynx, Arctic Fox, Grey Wolves....
Used to be more affordable. In fairness they made a lot of improvements in recent years so the value is there or at least in the ballpark.
It was awesome and not to expensive
Waste of money i went with my daughter I have more animals and bird's on my backyard There's nothing there except empty cages Nice zoo with no animals and the staff not friendly for
I am surprised to see good reviews about this zoo. Not really sure what the one star is for. My biggest problem was accessibility. The doors are not automatic which is a hassle when you go with a stroller - interesting that most people there are with strollers. Second, no food, just vending machines which was disappointing. Third the greens are not well kept and quite dirty which makes it hard to spot the animals.
Great place for kids!
Outdoors, clean air, open spaces, animals in their habitats or close, walking paths, all sorts of vegetations. Family with kids place or just a quite far from city hectic kinda place.
Not worth it. Only see 3 birds and one bear.
What can you say about a zoo where the animals are rescues who wouldn't make it in the wild and are well cared for. Several activities for the kids (feeding, cleaning). Staff are always eager to talk about the animals in their habitat as well as the reason for their being there.
I attended a magical night at the zoo with a local group and it was fantastic. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The kids will have memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Such a great experience, the zoo was well kept and a fun time for everyone, even in the winter.
Always a nice place to go with the family
Great experience for a first time visit. Very nice site and awesome choice of wildlife Will be going back.
Nice place and not very crowded in winter time. Visited twice in the summer and it was my first time last week. Great variety of animals, like bears wolves, and many prey birds. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that some animals could not been seen because they were hiding and some are always asleep (bears). So Maybe plan ahead to visit around feeding time to make sure they are all awake and visible.
Had a great time seeing some of the animals and getting to snap some great shots!
Very nice! The kids were in awe with all the Canadian animals.
A Montrealer must make it a point to visit our Ecomuseum at least one time. We are very fortunate to have a zoo featuring animals from Qc within the city. Pack a lunch or some snacks and enjoy !
Samll but kids love to be here
Very clean park and a very friendly staff. We went here on a whim and I am really glad we did. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. The park is the perfect size for an afternoon activity.
Kids had fun. Small zoo but decent for the price. Good customer service.
Tickets are expensive, poor inside, few animals and old equipment.
A great way to see animals native to this area, and get a beautiful nature walk at the same time
Great place for family fun
Great fun. Lots of animals. Fun shows. Courteous staff.
Well managed during COVID in my opinion. Clean facilities, easy to follow circuit, and nice animal enclosures. My one complaint would be that the it closes too soon.
Live this place. Always fun exploring with the kids. Always something new to discover
We're are the animals?
You will not see the amazing animals that grace the cages in Toronto's zoo. What you will see are rescued animals, and read about their amazing stories (French and English). Further, you feel like you're in nature. They have a marsh area, a few "trails", and the organization has gone to great lengths to replicate the animals' natural habitats. This is a unique zoo with character. It's easy to navigate, and a descent size - you'll take a couple hours at least. They put on shows at specific times (however, I did not attend one). Honestly, I had only gone because I bought the 'MTL Passeport'. I thought the zoo was a bit of a distance from Montreal, but I figured why not. I'm glad I went.
Well laid out. Great for younger kids but anyone who likes animals will enjoy the zoo.
Beautiful place but currently under renovation so limited number of animals and less to see. Nice exhibition indoors as well.
Awesome ecologically friendly zoo experience. The park was well laid out and even in the winter there were tons of animals to see.
A beautiful place that gathers either injured and orphaned animals, or ones born in captivity. I spent a beautiful day there and learning about animals I had no clue lived in Quebec!
Lovely rescue/zoo with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Bring your lunch!
The Ecomusum is a nice place to visit to get outside for a walk and see a few animals while your at it. Just NOT during a pandemic! Our experience was more frustrating than enjoyable. Too many people lack common sense or what a 2 meter distance is. Though the park has to take some responsibility for this too. You are given morning or afternoon slots so they can limit the number of people but there is no way to keep people away from each other once you're in, unless you have an employee at every viewing site telling people to move along. Which I know is not realistic but in my opinion nesessary as having to keep a distance, people would stand there way too long not even looking at the animal as if no one else is waiting behind them. Then you have individuals with no class getting frustrated and walking in front of you to get a look, so again you have to wait. And just so you know several exhibits are closed so there is less to see then usual.
The whole zoo is very small, with limited space for the animals (excepting some deers). I visited the zoo on 10th of November 2018. Some of the animals were in hibernation and a big part of the zoo was in construction, but the price was the same as in the summer time. I was very lucky to see some wolves barking at the moon.
Lots of animals. Fun time!
Great place to learn about native species, lovely natural grounds. Well run, friendly informative staff.
The Ecomuseum Zoo in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is an ethical zoo that takes in local wild animals who were injured, does rehabilitation and releases them back into the wild. The variety of animals may not be great like your typical zoo, but …
We had a great experience. There are about 20 various animals/ birds to explore. They are precious. My toddler was interested in them.
The animals were mostly asleep when we arrived at 3pm on a warm day, so we didnt see much. Difficult to get photos of the wolves, foxes, bear, lynx as you cant get too close to the enclosures. Some enclosures seem not proportional to the animal. A bald eagle can fly up to 350 sq miles to find food but his enclosure seemed to not be bigger than 40sq metre. On the contrary , I only saw 4 turtles in their enclosure which seemed to be just as big . The interactive enclosure for the geese, ducks was great as you could be amongst them as they were swimming ,flying around. Missed the otters this time as they were all sleeping. But got to see the artic foxes being fed. I found that 2 hours was not enough time to include a visit of the museum as well.
Excellent place to visit with kids. Ideal for birthday parties. The animals are well taken care of and seem happy and healthy. Will definitely go back in the spring.
Great little zoo for the kids. Love that these are all indigenous animals to the province of Quebec. Love even more that the majority of these animals are rescues too.
Very popular for John Abbott Students :), they have a lot of animals and very beautiful birds! Great little world to visit whenever bored Very good to come here with your significant other ;)
A must-visit for families with young children. The people at the Ecomuseum do a fantastic job of educating people about the beautiful and diverse animals in Canada. My daughter loves visiting this zoo, so it's really an annual trip for us (and sometimes more).
Very good considering the COVID-19 restrictions. Friendly staff.
Love this place. You can get quite close to the animals, and there's alot to see and learn. All the animals here are native to Quebec. A great experience, for adults and children. Not too expensive to get in, and the money goes towards a great cause. Don't forget to check out the aquarium in the basement.
They've upgraded a lot and it's worth checking out when it's not too hot out.
1/4 of the animals we're hibernating, except that. Would definitely go again
1/4 of the animals we're hibernating, except that. Would definitely go again
Friendly staff, wonderful mandate, a good size for families since you can see everything in a few hours.
Great place for kids to learn and explore all the local fauna and flora
Bad experiences at 2 visits. Can be very crowded in July and can't see most of the animals. Waste of money and time.
Easy to photograph captive animals. Backgrounds could be a lot better.
Limited collections, nice to be on the island of Montreal. Maybe because I have always been to big zoo like new York and Toronto this seems to be really small. There are some local animals so good for kids to run around. Would be nice to have a petting section with little goats
Animals were ecstatic and well taken care of. The zoo is filled with rescued animals and because of this, I will definitely be going back to support them.
Love this little gem in the west island. A must-see for anyone who enjoys nature
Nice place with local animals.
I have purchased a membership. My girls and I love going here. Great place to see animals from Quebec
Fun little zoo. I liked the focus on species of Canada as opposed to from all over the world -- fun to see how much variety there is right around us. In the winter, some favorite animals were hibernating, but you can't blame the zoo for that. The arctic foxes and wolves are fun to watch.
Zoo Ecomuseum is found on the outskirts of Montreal near the western tip of the island (St-Anne De Bellevue). It's a small zoo but not as you'd normally expect one to be. Basically the animals found here were rescued elsewhere due to a variety of reasons but most cannot be released due to injuries or inability to live in the wild. This is why one must temper their expectations to what they expect to see here.... this zoo's mission is centered on conservation and the size it pretty small.... you can be in and out in 45 minutes.... or longer if you have kids willing to check out exhibitions over and over again. This isn't Parc Safari! I paid $12.50 for my ticket and it's free for 2 year olds or younger. Prices are fair. There's several exhibitions inside the building you pay in before you head into the zoo. There's a number of aquariums with a variety of animals you can view but it's not something that you wouldn't see elsewhere however. Snapping turtle is HUGE though. You'll have to also realize that most of these animals are usually sleeping and may not present/active when you get there. Also, in the winter months they hibernate, so you know they're there but they're in lala land until they seem fit. :) The zoo had the most beautiful snow owl (harfang des neiges). He was looking at people barely feet from the gate, it was really impressive. I equally enjoyed the wolves, they were playing and were very active. The zoo has a lot of open space and a lot of exhibits in transition. Overall, my friends were very impressed on the new changes there were since the last time they came here 2 years ago. I wouldn't know but it's nice to know the zoo isn't stagnant and caters to the animals they receive. Overall, a nice experience. I'd be back in the summer as I'm sure the experience would be somewhat different from the winter one... my daughter loved it but she's 2, she's impressed by ants. :) Just make sure to temper your expectations and you'll have a nice time.
Nice place just for families especially children... I think it's boring for adults... However, the place is beautiful ... They try to make it more natural for the animals... Some people don't like that because it was hard to find animals …
At summer noon most of the animals hide in the shadow and sleep, so it's difficult to watch and find them there.
Unfortunately this zoo is a waist of money ! I took my daughter there today , there’s cages where animals are supposed to be but there are no animals ! You see nothing and you finish the entire place in 40 min or less . We were lucky that we saw a turtle and an owl other than than they’re noooooooo animals .
Great zoo on the west island featuring local animals
A family favourite. We really enjoy every visit. Clean, organized, friendly and with a meaningful mission.
Very nice park to discover the Canadian wildlife, which additionally operates as a shelter for abused or orphaned animals. Just a note for the animal caretakers: parents should be forced to keep their children on a 'leash' since their uncontrolled running around and screaming scares the animals and annoys other visitors.
Visited on June 2021, doesn't seem like a zoo, some birds and ducks, squirrels(which are all over the city no need to go to the zoo for that), one addicted sleepy bear, didn't worth the money at all....
Very good place to visit with small kids
We paid money to see empty cages we only saw a bear and few ducks unfortunately it was waste of money and time
Is a good family outing experience but I think is better in spring/summer rather than in winter
Very fun and interesting place to take the kids, animals are well-kept museum is well-maintained may not be as action-packed and flashy as some of the bigger ones in major cities but it's nice stuff off for a local kids looking for something interesting to do. I hear you could even do birthday parties there which is pretty neat and interesting.
Nice small place in the outskirts of Montreal. Not as big as say Park safari or Omega but tickets are not as expensive. Some animals are very difficult to spot because of overgrown shrubs and grass inside the cages but I love the birds of prey area. And I love the fact that some animals in the zoo are rescued from abuse or are orphaned. There's a picnic area but was under renovation when I visited (July 2021).
A few animals were hibernating and it was very slippery to walk but everything was beautiful and the animals were well taken care off. Will definitely try to come again in the spring or summer
It was fun with the kids not too far from home
It's so far! But it's worth it! You can go by bus or car, there is free parking if I remember well, but we went by bus for some adventure. Very nice animals there, we aren't from canada,so it was nice to see the Canadian animals there.
Always love going here, as a kid and adult, great to see all the animals in their natural habitats, especially since they're well taken care of and generally are unable to make it back in the wild for a multitude of reasons. Staff is always super friendly, everyone is very knowledgeable, and it's always good for people young and old to learn something new about all the animals we have in our gorgeous province.
They are making improvements. But still bird path not done. And still no toilets at far end of park nor in the front parking. Also no indoor waiting area to register or pay.
Truly enjoyable place in the West Island to spend about a half day. Clean premises with plenty of parking and friendly staff. I'm not a supporter of exploiting animals in captivity for the purpose of human entertainment however give this zoo all respect due to fact that most are rescues or simply unable to live in their natural habitat due to some form of injury or trauma. Good signage with pertinent information in both English and French.
What a fun way to learn about local wildlife! Something for the whole family. I love how all the animals are rescues. Just loved the Ecomuseum! We definitely want to go back.
We didn't get to see many animals as it was cold will try going again in Summer
This zoo is a good place for kids to visit with family. Worth your whole to spend around 2 hours ( 30 mins drive from Montreal downtown )
Fun as always though it was hot and alot of animals were hiding.
Great for families, kids and grown ups alike. You can see animals which are native to Quebec and Canada in very natural habitats. They are constantly spending money to improve the facilities for their animals.
not sure why you would have to pay to visit and see animals you normally see from a park....And you dont see them all....
Fantastic experience for kids and adults alike, even in winter!
Fun experience with friends or family, the diversity of animals is slightly limited which is understandable, would have liked to see a bigger enclosure for the bear, all the animals appear happy and healthy, bilingual info plaques for each enclosure is nice to learn something new about the animals, the staff was very friendly and I will return again hopefully when the underground/nocturnal animals and lizard section is open (closed due to covid 19). Overall a fun experience.
Great place for the kids!
I like the place,so I bought a year pass so I can go more often and see every season
Had a great visit here, all local animals, but still cool. Animals looked happy staff was friendly
Such a biiig waste of time and money to go to this place during the cold season! Half of the animals are hibernating... Some birds are said to have flown south for the winter... So, honestly, why on earth should one waste their money on seeing a couple of caged motionless & depressed eagles, lynxes, and foxes... :( :( On the other hand, staff members are NOT very kind or friendly, either. Sure, I won't ever get back to this place.... Such a big waste of time and money to go to this place during ANY season!!
An outdoor zoo on the island! Small enough to see everything in one trip (we spent about 2.5 hours), but big enough to be worth coming from downtown. Otters were a highlight!
It was good, kids liked it. It was hard to follow the map they had and we couldn't find a way to get in the eagles enclosure
Nice outing for family with young kids in any weather!
It doesn't deserve one star even, just spent $60 to have a walk that's it, seeing turkey and one sleeping wolf for sure deserve $60. Don't recommend
We have a year pass and love visiting the Ecomuseum. Best visit was in late December during some light snow. All the animals were out and frolicking ( except for the bears in hibernation). It was so much fun to watch the lynx' play, the wolves games, even the Fisher was out and about keeping busy. My kids love going every chance we get.
Awesome place for the kids who will have a great time with their family.
Nicely build, being my 1st time. I enjoyed it but not as many animals as i would have liked but a lot of them were beautiful !
Super awesome project that rescues local fauna and creates an inviting learning environment. Staff were helpful and friendly. The wolf was huge but my video was too long for google maps so go visit it to see it :)
Really well designed small zoo. There is a need for this kind of place. Let's you be in tune with nature. Trees and animals. The Morgan Arboretum is right beside the zoo so you that you can have a real nice day fresh air, and all. Highly recommendable !
Inexpensive and pretty. We couldn't see much because the enclosures are so big (which is good for the animals). I would have given the place 5 stars but there is no food for sale and only one drink machine that is cash only. Come prepared with your own food and drinks!
Great zoo, spacious enclosures and animals that look well taken care of. I especially enjoyed when we could learn more about the animals and their situation, and wish there had been more instances where their name and story was shared.
Came here with the girlfriend and her kids, it was educational, fun, a great experience to be so close to wild animals we rarely get a chance to see from so close. The price is in line with other museums, you do see where the money is going, every enclosure seams to be well built, the animals seam rather well fed and not stressed in the least bit. There's park areas for the kids to spend some extra energy to boot :)
Beautiful animals with very few people.
My daughter loved it. Very nice atmosphere, saw almost all the animals and the enclosures looked good I liked the stories of how the animals were saved.
Almost no animals right now, which I found super weird as when I went a few years ago there was a bunch. The price is cheap so it's worth it, but it's quick, not many animals so ????????♀️
Beautiful place. The children loved seeing local wildlife from Quebec. Many of the animals are rescues.
Great little place to visit the Canadian local wildlife. Don’t forget to visit the aquariums downstairs! I love that it’s a home for animal rehabilitation. Great job.
So many great renovations. Always a nice outing with the kids.
Helpful staff, interesting animals and birds to see, habitat is reasonable
Great place. They help animals of all types and its super cheap to go! Great for kids.
Lovely way to spend an afternoon. Outdoor nature experience where you can see the animals of Quebec. The otters and bears were our favourite.
Lovely idea and courteous staff.
It's ok for the kids, there are a few hurt animals that were rescued from the wildlife. I totally support this place for that reason. Now it's a small zoo with not too many species. But I guarantee you that you will learn something new about them with their informative descriptive signs. However If you are out of town or are here for a visit I'm not that sure that the detour, time and money invested will be worth it. But if you are a local and have nothing to do on a Sunday with your kids, this place is a fit. Also you can organize birthday parties so that's definitely a plus.
Suprising to find this place in Montreal!
Nice little zoo, even in the winter. Worth the visit if you have a car.
We liked how there was a guide informing kids about the wild life and they showed a turtle and explained it's life cycle.
Don't go expecting the Toronto Zoo. This is much smaller and features mostly animals that you can find in Canada. Where this zoo shines is the beautiful grounds. We went in the fall and it was absolutely gorgeous. The animals had large enclosures as well and we're very active. Since this is a smaller zoo it is also far less crowded than a larger zoo. I would highly recommend. Just dont go looking for elephants, lions, or panda bears.
Great place for a walk and an amazing place for the kids. Memberships are very cheap for the year.
Almost no animal to see. Lot of grass in animals cages. Don't waste your money.
Came here a little over a month ago with my friends and I loved it! The coolest part is all of the animals are rescues and are local to the area! There are daily events including animal feedings, which are in both English and French. It was really cool to be able to see the animals up close and learn more about them.
It's a fun, short activity. If you go with young kids who you know won't last hours standing and/or walking around. This is perfect.
Love the place ever since I was a kid. We use to go every month. I recently when back and I love the renovation.
Great place to go with kids. We loved the different animals, the signs are very helpful and instructive (please check the one in the raccoons' habitat, is great!). The kids loved the reptile section, there is a white turtle there that my daughter will never forget.
I've been going to this beautiful place for years and it never dissapoints. Lovely staff and very well maintained area make for a great visit every time. I can't wait to go back
A very nice place to bring family all year round .
Fantastic zoo, clean and well-adapted to covid. The enclosures are fantastic and massive, and the animals are taken in in injured states, so ethics isn't a question at all. The one way signs are also a nice touch.
Very good prices, good variety, I seldom go there. You can find stuff that you cannot find in Europe. Good quality stuff! I would go there every time in the future for all their products as they are very good. Every time I go there I take the special of the day which is good all time, winter and summer, especially in the eveningk when the parking is available.
All and all a good place for an hour. Was too short and the animals don't have much room to move around.
Extra!!!
The best mini zoo I ever visited, very cute, eco-friendly and wonderfully guided. Perfect place to contemplate, especially when not crowded (during week days). Totally recommend it.
Fantastic activity to do with young kids. Lots of room to run around and check everything out.
Spend a good time there. But get some frustration about the pandemic management (as everywhere) since some places are not accessible and the overall experience is a bit spoiled by the need to keep distance. (A one bear distanciation, as explained by the signs ????)
Definitely worth a visit. Easily spend over 1.5h here, nice walk and signs with information. Staff is friendly too. Support the animals!
I like this place. They have rescue or orphans animals. In winter some of them are hibernating
Great positive alternative to a zoo and a lovely place to go with family.
Love the idea of preserving n natural habitants, but if I'm paying to see animals, let me see at least one! Not just bush.....
A great zoo, a wide variety of animals that you can easily see without any obstructions.
Not the most impressive zoo; no lions, tigers, etc.
Very good place to visit with small kids
A wonderful place to spend a few hours! The park is clean and the animals are all native to Canada and mostly rescues, making this a fun and ethical animal experience. I will do back in different seasons and weather conditions to see the animals that were sleeping when we went!
Lots of fun, great way to show your kids some of the local wildlife.
Very nice zoo depicting and presenting the animals of Quebec. Small so easy to visit without being exhausted. Very kid friendly. No restaurant on site but you can bring your own food and drinks. They also have excellent day camps for kids and you can organize a birthday party for good price.
Kids alway have fun here.
Staff is great, know and love and care for the animals. All the animals are rescue or orphans unable to fend for themselves in the wild. Very informative.
The otters' new enclosure is great! I love that they're always improving the enclosures.
Small zoo, but it's not too far from Montreal. If you buy a one day ticket it's expensive, but the membership is worth the price
Absolutely loved this place. Came there during the winter and it was as fun as if it was in the summer. All animals are rescues, under rehabilitation or cannot live in the wild by themselves for one reason or another. There should be more places like these! Would definitely recommend to everyone.
Super awesome project that rescues local fauna and creates an inviting learning environment. Staff were helpful and friendly. The wolf was huge but my video was too long for google maps so go visit it to see it :)
Great zoo not overly large but has an adequate overview of Canadian fauna. Nice and clean. Staff was friendly and answered questions.
Great place on the island to see Quebec wildlife in natural environments. Staff is super nice and informative.
Great place to spend a couple of hours walking through to see the various animals.
Great concept, needs a little work but I wished other cities would adopt this approached to zoo's. Definitely worth your time. I wish they had more animal with their background stories available. From all the animals we only saw 3 with the reason why they were on the ecomuseum.
Better time to visit, when they feed the animal
Waste of time and money! Barely saw any animals!
Love going to the ecomuseum for a walk in the winter or a picnic in the summer. The zoologist for a day activity was great fun for my daughter.
I've been going there almost every year, at least once a year and sometimes twice a year. The zoo itself is very small, takes about 45 mins to 1h and you have seen it all, but kids really enjoy it. You get to see the animals up close, except the elusive Fox... I haven't seen that one - ever. Can't wait to hear what the fox says whenever I get to see him. What's also interesting is that a lot of the animals are actual rescue animals. The zoo has also been in renovations for at least two years now (some parts). There was a section in the basement you could visit to see more animals, but it's been closed off - could also be due to COVID. They will check for vaccination passport, however, seeing as the zoo is outside, you can remove your mask as you walk around. There are two small Parcs for kids to do something else than walk, one has two slides only and the other has some parcours éléments. Again, small. Perfect Zoo for a day off to bring your kids, it's rarely packed. There are some vending machines for some food, but no restaurants. Bring your own food if you plan to stay for lunch, they do have exterior picnic tables (off site) for you to use to eat there if you wish. I will definitely be returning again next year with my kids.
Brought my 2 year old, just the right length and amount of animals to capture his attention and not be too long for him to lose focus. Definitely recommend. We were also able to see almost all of the animals, only one or two weren't visible, which is great
A cute zoo close to the city. Nice place to take kids there for a day trip without the headache of driving too long. The cafeteria is very convenient with fridge and microwave for a quick lunch.
Amazing it was very fun I do recommend going with family or friends
Got a new young wolf as of September 2021 and he's a great addition to the center!
We love visiting here! It's such a nice day out with the family. The kids always have a blast, and there's just enough to see without the kids getting tired and cranky by the end. Wonderful place.
Kids had a lovely time
we go to the zoo about 6 times a year. it's a great place for my kids to run around and see the animals. as well not to loud sensory friendly. ( they accept the access 2 card) I have a child on the spectrum and he loves it. I suggest the weekdays . weekends are alittle busier. you can bring your lunch there are picnic tables outside the zoo. great afternoon usually spent.. we go around the zoo about 3 times.. before leaving.
Friendly staff, great outdoor experience. The kids loved it!
Brilliant sanctuary, lovely enclosures.
Very very educational. Great place for kids of all ages and really opens your eyes to how amazing this place we live in really is.
Beautiful. I lovevto take my kids and learning all about our native animals
I think that “zoo” might be a bit of a generous term, if you’re thinking of like, a zoo zoo. This is more of a conservation area style place. They’ve got really great exhibits and animals seem well taken care of. A lot of effort went into recreating their habitats and they’re all animals that would actually be found in Quebec, which was cool. Tickets were really affordable and it’s a pretty great way to spend a couple of hours.
Lots of fun!
Makes for an excellent stroll through the park and there are great views of the wildlife. The Ravens in particular were decently interactive and would respond to calls. Very pretty wolf and coyote as well ! The park is not huge and doesn't take long to visit.

Nice place to visit with kids. They have indoor reptile and fish museum. Outdoor they have fox, wolf, caribu, big raven, snow cat, porcupine, bear, vulture, owl, oyster, etc. However in winter some animals will be sleeping so we could not see them.
Very nice place, definitely a cool spot to visit with your children.
Nice zoo. Small but can see animals up close.
I came here with my family on a weekday afternoon in the summer and it made for a great day. There are lots of things to do and see. Signage and explanations of the various exhibits are very good. The animals were hard to find when we were …
I only went here once when they were located on Nassr at Pine St, this would have been in '89. I remember the 2 porcupines that were in a cage, they were very friendly and would push their head against the cage so you could pet them, they also had vultures that loved to be petted as well. How I'd love to see the new location.
The truth is I am disappointed, there are almost no animals and those that are there seem to be not there! The zoo itself is small and does not have much to look at, the truth is that the price they charge when entering is surprising because it is not worth it. entrance prices are $15 per adult and $9 per child (3-15 years old). they are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the ticket counter closes at 4 p.m. they have complete washrooms available. If you wish to bring your own lunch, they have a picnic area and an indoor lunch.
Animals are rescued and treated very well. Was very educational, would visit again.
It's just ok. Most of the animals were hiding. But what do you expect when you have several kids screaming, howling and banging to get the animal's attention. One perfect example is a group of about 15 to 20 kids age ranging from 9 to 15 stood in front of the wolf's penn howling at the poor thing non stop making the wolf stressed out which was painfully obvious. The parents did nothing even though it's posted not to howl because it stresses the wolves out. The gift shop is small and some items look like dollar store quality. The one saving grace would be that it's good for a quick last minute family outing.
Great for children. Love the souvenir shop!
What a wonderful, caring zoo that takes care of injured, abused and orphaned Canadian animals/wildlife. They give them habitats that match their natural one and they live peacefully there. Please visit them the tickets go to helping the animals!
Good place for a family outing near the city.
Relaxing and very educational regarding animals found in Quebec, including the region around Montreal. They have taken time to prepare for visitors despite the Covid19 pandemic, and it is an enjoyable experience. Very glad I could take my children to see these beautiful animals. The otters, the raccoons, and the Arctic fox were thrilling for them to see. I really enjoyed the calm of standing just a few feet from the deer, watching them groom themselves, eat some leaves, or just look around. They were beautiful. This is something to come back to see at different times of the year, to experience the seasons and see the animals outdoors. I highly recommend visiting this place!
Cute outdoors zoo went in the winter so some of the animals were hibernations so we weren’t able to see them, we went on a colder day so many of the smaller animals were taking shelter so we didn’t see all that much. They do out on little presentations but we didn’t watch them and there is a small reptile and insect museum downstairs which is pretty cool. They have a little cafeteria where you can bring your own food and eat but it was full. We went on a Saturday, around 11ish and there wasn’t a line and not an overwhelming amount of people there but when we were leaving at about 1ish there was a huge line up at the door All in all fun time! Will for sure go back in summer and see what they have to offer!
Smaller than I thought. Only one of each animal mostly, but entertaining none the less. I love the sondage during covid that keeps everyone going on one direction to avoid crowds.
Good place to see Canadian animals.
Nice place to visit
I had no idea how do visit in -10 degree weather, but we enjoyed quite a lot. Dress warmly!!!
A lovely sanctuary for indigenous creatures.
With all the closed paths and limitations given the current health safety measures, it's not worth the ticket price at all.
- Should be good during the summer. Not in Christmas holiday. It was too empty during the winter as most animals are hibernated or gone. + The staff were so friendly, indeed. Also they have a free charging station ;)
The entire team are amazing . Great knowledge of paint
Inexpensive and nice to see some of Canada's local wildlife. Also great to support an organization that helps protect and rehabilitate wild animals
We truly loved the place! We went early in the morning during the summer to make sure we will be able to see animals. We spent a good 30 mins asking questions to one of the head being outside that day and this guy really knew what he was talking about. All people were pleased to share with us their knowledge and are very kids friendly.
Educative and fun for kids
This is the best place ever! Rain or shine, I love going! The walk ways are tidy and the animals seem happy and well cared for. The enclosures for the animals are fairly sized plus they're always adding improvements to ensure the comfort of …
Wonderful little conservation park! This is a great place to visit with children or without. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, watching the animals and taking pictures. The animals have natural settings and it's not all touristy like major zoos. I didn't see any stressed out animals pacing back and forth or losing all their hair. They seemed very content and comfortable. There is a nice area inside as well on the lower level to visit. They have information and a little gift shop. Lots of parking and easy to get to from wherever you're coming from. Extremely reasonable prices! Well worth the visit and I plan on going again! Wonderful polite staff!!
Very nice little zoo. Located inside the Grand Montreal area. Activities for children.
Nice zoo overall, good staff, and social distancing wasn't difficult to do, with most of the zoo outside, but the sanitizer on the grounds were not alcohol-based. I could be wrong, but I remember that sanitizer needs a minimum amount of alcohol content for it to eliminate coronavirus on the body. Please ensure that soap is available and paper towels in the bathrooms, as well as alcohol based sanitizers ( minimum 70% content). I enjoyed learning about the animals.
Really sounds like they are giving these animals a second chance at life. Very nice place with very big areas for the animals to live.. not my first choice as I would want them to be free but these little guys were hurt or orphaned so happy we have this place.
Great day, well organized. Clean environment and as always the animals did not disappoint!
The park is a bit lacklustered. Alot of animals are hidden also it's not the friendliest to strollers.
Not a good choice for hot summer day or specific time of day (10-12h in my case) when predators are hidden/sleeping. Btw, introductions to each animal are well written and quite interesting.
As a family we really enjoyed the outing. The staff were fluent in English and French and were happy to share knowledge and information. It was very good to see that they were taking appropriate safety precautions for the health and safety of the workers and visitors.
A wonderful place to bring your kids in the West Island. The workers are clearly passionate about conservation and the shady walk is perfect for a sunny day.
.Ecomuseum sustains animal life for creatures who are unable to live on their own in the wild! A fun inexpensive activity to do with the family and an opportunity to learn about Wildlife
A bit too small for a Zoo (more like a research centre). It is very clean and well maintained. The staff are SUPER friendly and are always around to answer questions. An audio guide addition could have been value adding.
Great place to take the children. It is a local animal zoo meaning animals found mostly in Quebec and or Canada.
Really enjoyed the 3 hours I spent walking around the zoo and getting to see all the animals. Would definitely come visit again.
Such a perfect place to spend a few hours with the family!
I Never recommend to visit there, Just wasting time and Money. There is no Animal there to see just only some tired bird. All cages have sign with the name of animal but really can not see animal there. I told them this is not fair
Pretty cool place even in winter. Kids will love it. Bring your own food, there's a large seating area but no restaurant. Keep in mind there are only local animals here. The wolf are pretty impressive. You may want to get a full year membership. Pretty cheap and the money is going to a good cause.
We absolutely adored this place! Quite far from the city but still accessible. Animals seem really happy in here and their enclosures feels like part of nature, this is nothing like a casual Zoo. As Europians we saw some animals for the …
I wish I could live there and be a beautiful Disney princess with all those small animals...
Visited the zoo for the first time with a friend and had a great time.
there are otters. do i need to say anything more to convince you that this place is great? no i dont. because otters.
A nice little zoo with great looking animals. Our family had a wonderful time wandering through and exploring. It has a lot of really great, creative, and well thought out habitats and lookout points. Looking forward to going back again.
Nice. Unfortunately there was a section that was closed because of the virus
Loved it! Spotting the animals through the foliage is falways fun, no matter how old you are. I wish some of the animals had larger habitats, but otherwise they seem well taken care of. The little map handout wasn't entirely accurate, but it helped.
Had a magnificent chat with a zookeeper - such a privilege to have heard his terrific stories! Stuff like when to visit the otters, how old the bald eagle is, and what helped determine the sex of the golden eagle... You owe your kids a visit if you live on the island of Montreal.
Within island of Montreal, reasonable price. Handful of local animals. Dont visit during hot days early afternoon as most animals will hide in the shade.
Super cute place
Fun for family with kids. Animals treated well, the guides are great and explain the way they care for them. Good spot for a picnic!
We had reserved our spot after 14:00. The place supposed to limit amount of visitors. In fact it was way overcrowded once you got in. A lot of people around, no one respects the distancing rules. While you are waiting to crowd to leave others just overtake you and go to the crowd. Climbing on the fences which is forbidden. Obviously no one of the staff around to see and prevent all this and enforce minimal covid measures. On top of this the animals are slipping as usual (we thought it just the hot summer is the reason but nope) and their places are quite hidden so you barely can even see them sleeping and in many cases you just walking around empty places except the ducks as usual.

Great little zoo. Nice to walk around and all the animals inside were
Child oriented zoo. River otters are cute and entertaining. Highly recommended. Easy walking and navigating.
Seems cool but would have been appreciated if they told us beforehand 40% of their animals were in hibernation. At least a sign at the door, any warning really. Staff was friendly enough.
I went here hundreds of times when I was a kid! It's such a wonderful, happy place and it's lovely to see the natural wildlife of Canada. It's the perfect day out for all the family. I would love to go there again in the future.
Love the whole concept. The enclosures impressed me. I highly recommend going at least once to make up your own mind.
Nice place to go with kids
Great zoo... love that the environment for the animal are so natural. Well maintained, dedicated staff.
Always a great experience! They take good care of the animals!
Happy people have to wear the mask all the time.
One of my favorite place in Montreal, this place is so peaceful and it's a really good way to learn about native species of Quebec while enjoying those wonderful animals in really great habitats.
Great quite place. Kids loved it.
Staffs are friendly, but the area is pretty small and animas are lazy and not energetic.
It's a nice tour for young children to see and learn about animals in Quebec. Very up front and personal opportunities to see animals. I would recommend it only for children. Not exciting for adults.
Amazing sanctuary for rescued animals
Amazing place the kids loved this outing!
Nice place to learn about wildlife. Dress warm, it's an outdoor zoo.
A rather quiet place but the trip down is worth it. You'll be able to see quite a few native animals in their natural habitats enjoying themselves!
Get early to see all the animals.
Interesting exhibits of native animals. Very friendly, informative staff took time to tell us about the animals in the zoo.
Very good place for kids and adults Like a mini zoo We took nice photos
Its a nice zoo considering how close it is to the center of the city. Although, how much they charge for an adult is excessive. Half of the animals are either hiding or hibernation. We maybe saw 5-7 animals close enough to see and that's about it. You will spend alot of time looking. 17 dollars is an overkill for that. The inside facilities need a face lift and are a complete mess with everyone walking in their boots through. You need at least carpets in the most walked areas to absorb all this and prevent slippage. Which brings me to a other point. Considering how high traffic the trails are, you need to do a better job at maintaining them with some salt. Some spots are an ice skating rink, even downhill. Someone can get really hurt which could have been prevented with salt and sand.
I usually don't like zoos, but here all the animals are local, well treated and here because they were rescued, so it's cool. Plus it's well organised and the staff is very friendly.
So fun and not too far away to drive. Nice and small, so it's easy to see the whole zoo in a short time. Not too much walking for little ones. Membership is well worth the $$. We attended the Frogs in Concert event and absolutely loved it!
Nice afternoon spent with my family at the zoo. We particularly liked the bear, the wolf, the turtles and the ducks.
I haven't been in a few years. I was impressed with the improvements. Definitely worth a visit.
Super fun place to learn about Canadian wild life animals. Staff is super friendly and talk to you on the trails! Had a great time learning about the Lynx.
Okay little zoo. Really hot day so most of the animals were sleeping. Highly recommend bringing your food and drink as the selection is limited at best (vending machines). Also be warned lots of long grass so you maybe searching for animals alot. Also not the cleanest of spaces. Highlight was black bears.
Excellent place to see Canadian wildlife. Kids loved it. Big lunch room for your picknic.
Brought my niece and nephew and they loved it!
Great day with the family, we had the chance that most animals were out and about. A bit expensive but you can easily spend the day there.
Great way to spend half the day. Lots of animals that you get very close to. We saw almost all the animals, only a few were hiding. My 2.5 year old had a blast. We'll definitely be going back soon.
Lots of beautiful animals we rarely ever have a chance see. Going in the winter is great
We were able to see only only 3 or 4 animals and they looked very tired and sleepy . the place is full of flies s don’t forget you insects repellents they should decrease the price to 3$ for a kid and 5$ for an adult.
Love going here. Lots to see and the kids love it too. The Ecomuseum has a great set up to keep people as physically distanced as possible. I actually love the new set up as it gives a direction to see all the animals.
Amazing visit in a natural setting. The animals were fantastic and so at ease in their habitats.
We only saw two animals out of the c. 20 animals at the zoo - grass/bushes and hills inside the animals’ confinement were too high to have a view.
Everything was amazing. We were just very disappointed that we could barley see the wolves becausenit was barricaded.
Great little zoo, the animals have a big space which is nice to see.

About 30km outside the City of Montreal, this open air, small Zoo takes guests through multiple habitats of indigenous Canadian animals. From Caribou, to Black Bears, Lynx’s, River Otters and Racoons this zoos is a nice treat for families with small kids. Free parking and moderate admission prices (~$20 CAN adult admission, 2018), there are just a few downsides. Since this is a natural habitat zoo, in warmer temperatures, some animals may be hiding in order to stay cool. Also, familiars venturing outside of Montreal will probably want to bring a picnic lunch as the zoo offers zero food amenities and restaurants (e.g. Tim Hortons) is a 10-15 min drive from the zoo.
Nice zoo, many different animals, unfortunately it started to rain strong and I had to leave, but the place is beautuful. I hope the bird of prey area is inaugurated soon!
Super cute little zoo. Don't waste your money at the biodome, come here instead. One of my favorite little day retreats.
Amazing place for families and couples, wonderful amount of animals
As a family we don’t normally go to zoo as the idea of putting animal in a cage for the sake of human entertainment it is apparently wrong for us. However we visit a sanctuary where we go as a family due to supporting a kind of organizations. We have been to many sanctuaries around world and I suggest these people to visit Australia specially Tasmania and learn the real idea of sanctuary, as they advertise here ecomusem so called “sanctuary” and this is nothing to do with that. It is a normal zoo!! I felt really sorry for the animals here, they seems like under drug as they are all sleeping and there in a small cages. This experience has hurt me a lot.
My family and I had a wonderful time looking at the animals. They have a kitchen and a picnic area as well.
Great place to spend some time near the city... But don't expect to see many animals, a third of the cages are empty, the other third the animals are hiding. Still worth going since it's only 20 min from the city.
Very nice activity for the whole family. Lots of. Animals to see all from canada
The idea behind the Ecomuseum is the education of local kids about the local wild life. If my memory didn’t fail me, the Ecomuseum is home to 115 different species of animal native to the Saint Lawrence Valley in southwestern Quebec. The presentation is very kid-friendly and the staff is nice as well. I had the great pleasure to stay overnight with the daycare of our little daughter. This allows to see animals also at night - similar to some humans many other species prefer being active at night as well :-) The zoo is deeply entrenched in the social fabric of Montreal - many people volunteer here.
Full of fascinating exhibits, and far less of a circus/theme park than a traditional zoo. If there is a downside, it's amateur and "pro" photographers hauling 3 foot lenses around and acting as though they own the place. Well directed walkways make this a great place to bring kids. Suggest avoiding any extreme weather as the animals roam quite far within their enclosures and the winter hibernating animals are nowhere to be seen during 4 months of the year. For animal lovers, an annual pass is better value than a single entry.
Great little zoo, the animals have a big space which is nice to see.
Not too big, not too small, perfect for families with young kids. Also, very good approach for rescuing animals whom are wounded and/or cannot survive in the nature.
I've been visiting Ecomuseum for years and every experience has been great. Be sure to try visiting in different seasons, winter is awesome!
I thought there would be more animals or at least that I could see them better. All the outdoor animals but the ducks were sleeping or hibernating.
What a fun visit. My family and I spent about 4 hours slowly making our way around the park and had an absolute blast. The full variety of animals that Quebec has to offer are all on display and it's worth noting that they're all rescues or rehabs in the park. It was a rainy fall day so many of the animals were a little more docile than usual (lynxes, fisher and bear were all sleeping and the otters sadly were huddling under a rock). Highlights for sure were the arctic foxes, ravens, albino snapping turtle!, wolves and racoons. I'll be sure to stop back in here again sometime and help support them because it is one of the most clean, accessible and interesting 'zoo/nature preserve' type places I've visited.
While not a big fan of zoos in general, this one houses animals that were injured in the wild or born in captivity. The enclosures, while not immense, are quite spacious and efforts are made to closely emulate the wild animals' respective habitats. Expect to only see animals indigenous to Canada. Aside from the outdoor area, there is a small interior aquarium with displays of live frogs, turtles, snakes and some fish. Grounds are well-kept and the staff is very friendly. Recommended for kids and adults alike.
A lot of improvements over the years, very good place to bring kids, but it's fun for the whole family. Summer is obviously better time to enjoy this place - a lot of animals. It is also good starting point to explore parks near by, recommended!
Great for young kids.
To bad we didn't really get to see many of the animals . I guess they were all hiding for the day. Better luck next time
Cute tour of animals. Worth going with kids
Great, fun place with large enclosures and many, well kept animals.
Interesting and lovely animals
We drove all the way from Ottawa to visit the zoo in late February, I couldn’t imagine it being so sad. It is unclear how they can even think of charging full price for seeing a couple of common ravens and a handful of deers. Worst experience ever
Wonderful place to bring your kids (you can also rent a room for birthday parties). They are always changing and updating, so it's worth it to keep going back (let alone supporting them!)
Lovely Zoo. Very nicely landscaped. Perfect for a family visit for young and old :)
Good cause, great staff, fun times!
It's like the most adorable and cozy place to go ???? I freaking love it.
Great place for the kids to see canadian animals. Great staff. 4stars because the map is weird and it was under construction. But the animals have a good life there, not miserable
Fantastic place. I feared the strictly Canadian fauna would be somewhat tame but not at all. My two year old loved it as well as all the animals. Turtles, porcupine and raccoons were all fascinating to him. Also the big ticket animals all made appearances after the worst of the daytime heat had dissipated. Nice park inside as well but not much in the way of healthy snacks. Bring your own.
Nice and relaxing outing with small children.
I visited this zoo in the winter. Probably the worst zoo I have ever visited. The admission fee shouldn’t be more than $5 considering what animals they have in the zoo. Lots of Animals missing from their inclosure. Just visit some parks where you can see the deer, birds and some rodent and you will thank me then.
Great place on the island!
Love the ecomuseum. It's the only 'zoo like' place I can tolerate because they actually save and help animals in need or keep those who can't be released back into the wild. (Due to injury or low chances of survival.)
Have visited several times. Bought annual memberships husband and wife.
The animals were a real treat and a bunch of them had funny personalities as you'll see from the pictures. Definitely going back
My daughters ask to go here every year. Very nice preservation to rehabilitate local wildlife.
As Always I love it here :) so do the 18 nieces and nephews I bring every year
This is far more natural than a zoo. Love seeing Quebec animals in a refuge setting. The animators are particularly well-informed and the programming top-notch.
Very very educational. Great place for kids of all ages and really opens your eyes to how amazing this place we live in really is.
The staff is super friendly! Great place to bring your kids!
We love the ecomuseum. It is a beautiful sanctuary in the west island for animals to go through rehab in an environment made for them. They are so well cared for. The park when you visit is lovely - big trails, variety of animals, learning plaques teaching you about our local Quebec fauna. Please go, support the museum, and be respectful of the animals! It's an amazing visit every time
Nice little zoo with various local, native species. Great for kids. Set aside about two hours for a full visit.
Not the best zoo I have ever been to .. I'm pretty disappointed. There werent many animals here. The highlight would be the otter but even that wasn't the best. The glass wasn't very clean, so I wasn't able to see the animal very well. I was just expecting more. But at least they have a small park where my children could play. That's about it . Staff was friendly but I think that there's a ton of room for improvement.
Beautiful and interesting outdoor activity for fauna lovers in the city. Only thing that's missing in my opinion is some on-site specific information on the animals (eg. Were they found orphaned, special history, etc.), but there is still plenty to learn. Will go back for sure!
While small it was a beautiful zoo with some gorgeous animals! It had larger cages than many zoos I've been to which was really good to see. I wish more places were like that!
Great time! Picnic areas and washrooms are clean. So many animals to see and enjoy. Hope the restricted areas will open up soon.
The attention from the entrance was really good, but if you hope to see all the animals... This is not the time, since many areas are under construction or closed.
A wonderful location for everybody to enjoy a nice walk and/or to look at some animals.
It's a very nice walk on shaded paths through a mixed forest. Lots of birds.
They did a great job with COVID. The park is entirely outdoors, with arrows to keep people going in one direction. You have to order your ticket online before going to reduce time indoors buying tickets and to ensure headcount. The staff was very informative and friendly and they were all wearing masks. Not all guests (smell children) kept their distance but that's on the guests not the zoo. They sell masks, and my friends and I had masks on when crossing indoors, so be kind and wear a mask inside!
It was very beautiful. You can see the animals from very good vantage points. It’s very peaceful and much more inviting than a commercial zoo. Great experience. I totally recommend it.
Good mix of animals, nice walking paths, the kids really enjoy it
Utterly disgusted. Although animals are well taken care of, buses and buses of screaming children coming in and out all day, guides screaming louder than then trying to control their behavior and it is sad to see the animals having to put up with these unatural noises all day long without being able to get away from the chaos due to lack of space. Left with blasting headache and the impression that this is nothing more than a money pit. I certainly do not recommend this so called zoo to anyone to visit.
Little one loved it!
I have purchased a membership. My girls and I love going here. Great place to see animals from Quebec
The most fun I've have with my family in a long time!! Beautiful to walk all day and look at the animals who r treated well. Great fun kid friendly place and great staff!
Not so big but a very cute zoomuseum. You can see there many animals.
Really nice zoo lots of different animals.
Beautiful location and nice outing with the family, but definitely not cheap. Was over $50 for 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 4). Didn't see much wildlife and the fish/reptile section was closed due to Covid. Kids still had a good time.
Long wait to get in on Canada Day. But worth it. Well organized with a clear one way path that allowed us to see all the animals. Indoor exhibits closed but that was to be expected. We still enjoyed our visit and got to see plenty of animals. The free roaming female turkey in the aviary is a sight to behold. Overall good experience and fun times for the kids.
Loved the layout and design of this place. Great place for a family to visit with kids. Very clean and friendly staff. I would recommend it.
Not worth it. Only see 3 birds and one bear.
Great place to bring your family to especially young kids. If you want to see some animals without leaving the island this is a great location for that.
Nicely build, being my 1st time. I enjoyed it but not as many animals as i would have liked but a lot of them were beautiful !
Ridiculous set of reviews here from people who felt defrauded bc they *paid to see* animals that they didn't get to see. Strange notion that if one pays upon entry, one ought to see something, including nocturnal animals that would naturally hide from human sight and certainly also from the screams of children. This is all the more logical in a natural enclosure setting. FYI, this is neither a circus nor a "red light" animal district, I'm afraid. My only point of complaint is the exact opposite form this: some animals, most particularly birds (of prey) had far too limited enclosures for what their natural range is. Particularly sad bc there was space and means of enlargement, no doubt. That said, it is a very nice and valuable initiative. Wish they had more recourses to improve and enlarge the spaces but this is as good as it gets, frankly, in the province. Nice receptionist I should add!
Very nice to go with children. Animals were very active!
Fun for the family. Just wish they made the path a bit more clear. I understand the snow melting but maybe pave the walkway? Kids enjoyed jumping in the muddy puddles though!
Had a great time. Cheap tickets. Lots of variety.
I'm absolutely in love with this place and their staff
Like most people are saying, it's a bit pricey for admission. But at the same time, you're paying for the wellbeing of animals in need of care which makes it totally worth it. The staff seem very passionate about what they do and the animals seem to have great habitats. Great place for kids to learn about animals of Quebec.
Just amazing. Covid safe, make reservations 1st. Very well organized and safe! Thanks to the staff!!
Amazing place. Visitors must bring their own food, because there are no place nearby to eat.
Very fun place to go with the family. Make sure to bring mosquito repellent, there are quite a few of them!
cool place to be with the family. the kids love going there
This place was great! Too beautiful to even believe it exists! I 100% recommend you visit this ZOO if you have the chance, especially if you have children. It's a bit expensive but if you are able to spot all the animals hidden in their great big cages, it's worth it!
Amazing place
Fun for the kids. Bring some good mud boots in spring or fall. Only takes about 2 hours to go through everything
Awesome zoo! Had my kids birthday party here
Good place for kids see Quebec wildlife on close quarters
It was very fun. I really enjoyed it! Me and my daughter had lots of fun looking at the black bear in the water! My daughter was very annoying but all kids are annoying. Overall we had a great experience and it wasn't too hot.????
Happy people have to wear the mask all the time.
Amazing place the kids loved this outing!
Very nice place to visit but didn't see a lot of the animals because they were napping ( can't blame them ) the staff were nice and free parking. No restaurants, only vending machine but you have access to a cafeteria. A bit pricey for adults ( just to see animals sleeping ) but overlap 4/5 on experience.
Best kept secret in the west island. Our own zoo filled with indigenous species found in Canada. Great for the whole family bring good walking shoes you can even have a picnic. Good for kids of all ages 5 to 90 years.
Nothing to see 2 wolves 2birds????
Amazing place to visit with your Lil ones.
I used to go all the time as a kid, and today I visited for the first time in about 10 years. It did not disappoint!! The entrance fee might seem a bit stiff, but once you get outside you'll be blown away. It is just such an amazing adventure for kids and adults. It is so natural and so well maintained. There is a massive aviary for ducks, herons, and other beautiful birds that you can walk through and watch them fly around. There is a huge other enclosure with a glass wall where you can watch them swim. There are all kinds of animals and birds, amphibians, fish, and reptiles that are native to Canada. Information posts at each enclosure that are easy to read and really informative. You can just take a peaceful walk through beautiful woods and across ponds and streams, or you can go downstairs to watch the turtles and frogs. I love the Ecomuseum.
Great for kids. Mostly outdoors so dress appropriately (snow, heat, mosquitoes)
Amazing visit in a natural setting. The animals were fantastic and so at ease in their habitats.
Despite covid-19 restrictions, we had a great visit at the ecomuseum! Most of the exhibits are outdoors (indoor ones are closed for now), and they limit the number of visitors. Plus there is a one way path to follow. We felt very safe and enjoyed the picnic grassy area after our visit.
Very nicely laid out. I am impressed.
It's 18$ plus tax for to see a duck. Honestly, the price is to high.
Brought my niece and nephew and they loved it!
wonderful place for learning a lot about animals. Very nice staff
Love seeing all these rehabilitated animals
Very nice, even during the winter season. Can not wait until spring. I will give more stars indeed.
Love the effort to help local animals in need while allowing us to see them and get to know how they live and their needs
Staff was very nice and friendly.... enjoyed a lot????
Superb little zoo. It feels like the animals arw actualy in their natural setting. This place is great
Great place! I loved it
Great place. Highly recommended!
Great day outing, arrived early so we saw most animals. Presentations every 1/2 hour on wildlife,
Great day. Wolves were awesome!
Very nice place to visit! I was pleasantly surprised. Will go back sometime.
I hadn’t been here in years so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I wasn’t let down. They have really made this a great place to spend an afternoon.
I am not from the area, so when I was visiting a friend here, I was invited to visit The Ecomuseum. My friend told me it would be an hour or so, but we ended up spending the entire afternoon there. I was a bit disappointed at first as I didn't see many animals, but then I realized that since it was a hot day, most animals were sleeping or in the shade. So we made a circle and, when the clouds came out, so did the animals. While we walked we also stumbled upon a caribou and porcupine presentation, which was very cool and fun. Saw wolves playfully fight, bear take a dip in the water fountain, and otters go down water slide. I also managed to take a couple of good photos. We then spend the last couple of minutes looking at birds and didn't get a chance to check out the museum's basement and its nocturnal animals. There is still so much to see and I will definitely be back.
Nice little Zoo if you have a couple of hours to spare on a beautiful day
wonderful place for learning a lot about animals. Very nice staff
Love it...fun for families!
While its a bit more "ethic" than most zoo it's still a zoo, which in itself is an unethical thing. Anyway most of the animals had great space, good variety. There is still a few birds in awfully small cages. Its a very clean park. Just wish there was a bit more employees all around so people would follow the park rules, because lot of people don't.
Didn't enjoyed it, few animals, small cages, bad experience.
Very few animals in this zoo, and the living condition there for animal is horrible. You can see tall weeds everywhere in animal area, and river is quite polluted as well. Condition is even worse than most public parks, and they actually charge for almost 20$ for each visitor. Looks like a lot of corruption going on here. No one is really maintaining this place. Not recommended.
Beautiful place with knowledgeable staff and the animals have nice size exhibits.
Great place for thd kids. Lots of space.
Ok to visit, but since you handle native wildlife, why can you not take in wild animals in distress? Aren't you supposed to do rehabilitation?
Great experience with the family and then Granddaughter signed up as zookeeper for a day. You can bring your own lunch. Animals are rescues or bred in captivity. Very informative and interactive.
Getting better and better every year. Nice place to go even just for a walk. Membership is reasonable too.
I haven't been in a few years. I was impressed with the improvements. Definitely worth a visit.
Love coming here with young kids. Very easy to get around and see everything. Local and rescued animals only so don't expect to see giraffes and lions. They have presentations every hour or so do you can visit the animals in action. I love how they encourage that you bring your own food too! They have both covered and outdoor lunch areas equipped with microwaves, sinks and vending machines for snacks. My kids are 4 and 1.5 and they had a great time. You can see everything in abt 2 hours.
Great experience, inexpensive, I will definitely go back.
Great little zoo for the kids to run around for a bit. No food here and cash only for ice cream. Great enclosure for the animals. Well done.
Great place to visit with children. We arrived just after lunch so a lot of the mammals were having a nap. The birds and reptiles were awesome and the otters did not disappoint. An awesome way to spend a few hours on a nice day.
Great place for kids.
Very clean and organized. Easy path to follow. Guidelines respected. We got to see the otter!!! :)
My toddler loved it, a large park, good for a walk and many animals, all of them live in QC. Social distancing is well respected, not too crowded. Recommend!
Was a great time!
Poor variety of animals. Most of them are not visible. There are no large animals such as elephants, lions, tigers, etc.
Perfect time of the year to go in at winter start since we can see all animals! It was great for young kids. Approx 2hr to visit the site.
The place was well maintained but we didn’t see much animals the kids were kinda disappointed
This zoo puts its animal residents' comfort above anything else, so the visiting humans need quite a bit of patience and pathfinding skills to see all of them. It's an exciting and unforgettable experience, for kids (even teenagers) and parents alike. Make sure to bring your lunch and take advantage of the new picnic area outside of the zoo grounds. Oh, and the zoo boutique has some nice stuff!
Very nice facilities, animals are well treated and not too expensive. A great place for the family.
My guide answered all quesiton and was super nice. Believer her name was Justine. Very good visit.
Some animals are not available in spring, summer must be the best period. It was fun to see the wolves howling. There is a picnic area with tables next to the parking
Great place for kids to see animals in their habitats. Constantly improving the habitats to make it better for the animals and visitors. Majority are rescued animals.
We held a birthday party there for our granddaughter, and everyone loved it. Helpful, welcoming staff, great facilities and a large party room made setting up a breeze. The party goers played inside, went outside and walked all around the animal enclosures. They all returned to the party room, where a naturalist enthralled them with a hands-on presentation on reptiles. Birthday cake and treats followed. It made for a perfect day.
My kids are always excited when we bring them there! Always fun, interesting and educational! Great activity
A zoo and no animals to see how come !? bhahaha lol
One of Montréal hidden gem. Great outdoor activity, fair price ( better if you take a season pass). Great proximity with the animals, much closer than the average zoo
Very small place. You are done in 1 to 2 hours. Almost missed the cool aquarium section downstairs.
Beautiful animals with very few people.
All and all a good place for an hour. Was too short and the animals don't have much room to move around.
Great place for a couple hours with the family exploring nature and seeing animals in their habitat.
Excellent and high entertaining experience. Talk to the staff, they have great background on the animals. Otters and foxes and bears, oh my!
Great place to take the children. It is a local animal zoo meaning animals found mostly in Quebec and or Canada.
It is a nice place and the birthday packages is good for young kids to know the animals.
Was here the other day with my partner and even tho we have both been multiple times, it's always a really fun experience. Seeing the animals, walking threw the trails, nothing but good times. And if you go to the raccoon enclosure and don't see them, don't be concerned, they are probably all up the tree in the middle 40+ feet in the air! Haha
Nice collection of animals and very laid back compared to Granby of Parc Safari. It’s also nice to know that some of the animals there are rescues and/rehabilitated. Staff are friendly, informative and bilingual.
I love that the animals they have are being well cared for as they would not survive in the wild. Staff very friendly. A great time for the whole family, in any season!
This is a great place for a birthday party. We had a large enclosed room with a fridge, microwave, tables and benches. Use of the room is from 09:00-12:00, and you can then stay on the grounds until 5 p.m. The grounds very large and being enlarged again. There is a large variety of birds and other animals. I really thought that the otters are very energetic and fun to watch. A great day trip for people of all ages. Remember to ask for a map, it is needed.
A wonderful place to bring your kids in the West Island. The workers are clearly passionate about conservation and the shady walk is perfect for a sunny day.
Nicely designed small zoo, well laid out. On a busy day it seems almost too small to accommodate large crowds. Other than that it was a pleasant surprise.
A great place to take children for a walk and fresh air! Stroller friendly. Not too long and tiring for little ones and so much to see! The playful fishers, the dancing barn owl, the lynx which are so like our housecat in the way they move but way bigger, the adorable otters, the turkeys that gobble at you at the fence... Open every day except Christmas.
Came here to see the animals but the location is very odd, and not enough space for people to walk through. You can barely see the animals in their habitats since they are hiding, and the space to view the animals is so small and very cramped.
Friendly staff, great place to be in contact with mother nature!
Nothing to see. Only saw 2 animals . Not worth 17 dollars
Linxes and raccoons and bears oh my! Great for a family outing and a bit of education for the kids!
A lot of construction going on... Not able to see all the animals. Not worth the cost, spent less than an hour there.
It's a good walk in wooded lot with few animals, something close to the city. It's a good walk with kids
Nice place to walk & play with kids, but animal variety is limited. It takes 1.5h to see everything and take a snack. A bit pricey comparing to Omega & Granby where a whole can be spended.
The animals were mostly asleep when we arrived at 2 p.m on a hot day. So we didn't see much. You should check feeding schedule before go.
What a wonderful spot for the family! A taste of the Canadian Wild steps from the city.
Animals are treated properly. The paths are stroller friendly and there are indoor and outdoor places to eat.
A small Zoo, not much to see, especially in the winter.
My 2 year old was happy . Very clean and kept very well .
I've been going to this beautiful place for years and it never dissapoints. Lovely staff and very well maintained area make for a great visit every time. I can't wait to go back
Part of the park was closed, but other than that, it was great !
Horrible zoo. Don't go there you will waste your time. Boring...noting to watch and nothing to do...drove 1 houre to get there and could stay there for only 1 hour. After 1 hour I visted all around the zoo and there was nothing to do. Boring and ordinary animals.
Great place to take photographs and happy to see the animals with a safe place to live.
Very amusing place for the family. It is small, but has a lot of animals, that seem well treated and with enough space. Cheap too.
Nice place to visit. Would recommand going when it's not too hot outside so you can see more animals.
Perfect size and diversity, very interesting. Clean, well organized, the price is correct. Was there with a 3.5 years old and 1 year old. Took one star off because there is no food.
Good place for kids
We love going to the Ecomuseum Zoo. The kids (ages 2, 6 and 8) always have a great time seeing the animals when we go. The bears and wolves are their favorite. Make sure to bring a picnic as they don't sell food on site (except for vending machines and ice cream).
Great place. They have free visits each month on the 1st Sunday!
Great park whit great animals and view!!
I love this place. They try very hard to give the animals an interesting and lively environment. Great place to take the kids. Check the feeding schedule for best results. Enjoy
Great locale, friendly knowledgeabke staff.
Absolutely a waste of money and time!! We were expecting something great with the animals but there are nothing but regular animals that are running wild in my back yard, so stupid!
Great place to bring the kids. Lots to see and not too big to get around. Not all the animals are out in the winter like the bear but still worth it. Some trails are dirt and gravel so can be a little more challenging with a stroller. Affordable admission and seasonal or yearly passes available as well.
Great place to go with toddlers very close to montreal
Good place to see Québec animals
We have bought the annual pass two years in a row. This is our favourite place to go when we need out of the house. The animals are well cared for, creating a guilt free zoo experience
All the animals that don't hibernate were out and about. We all had a great time. We even got to see the 2 Lynx and they are so awesome! Definitely a place to take the kids on spring break.
We haven't been here since 5 years ago and they've really stepped it up. The facilities are great, clean and well kept. We went early and saw everything but the red fox and the interior reptiles were closed. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here.
Waste of time and money! Barely saw any animals!
Beautiful. I lovevto take my kids and learning all about our native animals
Great place to bring the little ones for a fun afternoon. There are a variety of animals and even a playground towards the ends. A bistro or restaurant on site would be perfect
Nonprofit small zoo with an educational mission. Most of the animals are rescues that would not survive if released back into the wildness. A favourite spot to take our kids or overseas visitors.
Love this place. A Zoo in Montreal. Nice for at whole morning if not a full day. Decent facilities and just nice to walk around.
We are from out of town. Didn't really see anything we don't already see in our back yards. Eagle, otter and bears were cool. Picnic area available but you need to bring in your own food, which is difficult when staying in a hotel. We rode out on the bus and didnt realize they don't stop at the bus stops unless you tell them so we had to ride thru the next stops and circle back around.
Great place for the family to spend a nice day outside. Pretty easy to see all the animals available and they're pretty close by. I would recommend to have a food stand and lower the entry fee as well.
Animals were adorable. Very affordable.
Kids had a lovely time
Takes around 1-2 hours to go through the park. i enjoyed my experience and was within my expectations for a winter zoo experience.
Great condition of all. My kids like visit this place. Again again and again
Loved it. The enclosures are getting so nice and spacious. Leaps and bounds above where it was 20 years ago. I love coming here.
Went during covid restrictions, they were very organized and had all proper restrictions in place even with this our time was amazing and the kids had a lot of fun!
I always heard about this place but I only went there today with family. I thought it was nice and easy. It's a lot smaller than the zoo in Granby, but it's also cheaper and a lot closer. They don't have many large animals, but the place is clean and enjoyable. I wish they had more water fountains for drinking, I only found one close to the toilet in the entrance.
Beautiful place. The zoo is full of rescued animals from North America.
Loved the experience! Very clean and the animals looked happy and very healthy! My fiancee and I loved seeing the wolves playing with each other!
I love this place. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. I love knowing that there are people out there looking out for animals all shapes and sizes and it's a bonus that we can walk around their lovely grounds and see them! You can easily spend an hour or two walking around and seeing everything and kids love running around. They can get a little disruptive, but the area is big enough that you can walk away from them and find quieter enclosures.
Really good people, You can tell they care!
A small Zoo, not much to see, especially in the winter.
Beautiful nature paths in the forest ,friendly, informative staff...animals are wonderful to watch in their natural habitats..my favs are the gray wolves, raccoons, artic foxes, and eagles... Although most indoor exhibits are closed due to covid-19,and some other outdoor exhibits...walking trails are well marked out for what is available....wheel chair accessible as well...
Nice zoo. Small but can see animals up close.
The way on how the ecomuseum operates by saving animals which have been abused by people, or rescued them, makes it a very different place, I just wish they has some bigger area to provide for the animals
A well located Zoo in Montreal. The kids had fun and enjoyed their time
I thought it was a bit pricy at first but it's well worth it. Wonderful place to take your kids.
Way too crowded, no physical distancing.
AWESOME place! I love animals and seeing them there and reading their stories is a great way to get closer to them in a safe environment (for them and us) Cant wait to go back :) Thank you for the amazing work you do with the animals!
Great activity for all ages. I would plan a morning visit since most animals are more active at the beginning of the day.
Great look into Canadian nature all set in beautiful surroundings.
A zoo you can feel good going to. These rescue animals are given plentiful room and are all native to this area of the world.
Not much animals to see....Good for taking small kids as they get ample space to play
What an amazing place! Great variety of local fauna. Everyone who likes animals must visit the Ecomuseum. Staff is extremely dedicated which makes for a unique educational experience!
Came in thé afternoon and all the animals were either sleeping or hiding. Can't say it's very toddler friendly if they can't see the animals very well.
Never back again! I don’t recommend this place. you can’t even see the animals! Waste of time and money. I spend there 2 hours saw only eagle and deer!!!!!
We couldnt see the animals ,I was waiting to see the black bear without success,u spend a lot of time looking and all what u see is the small tiny frogs
Alright, a bit disappointing was hoping for more animals. Considering how far away it is I wouldn't recommend to tourists
Just grateful to visit and contribute to help saving and keeping well great wild animals in need. Few dollars a year are enough to help the Museum and contribute to a great cause. And if you have time to visit even better. Children adore it!
Cheap prices, great cause and cute animals! Definitely something you should visit if you like animals. They also have really nice things in the souvenir shop. I will be going back again for sure.
Very good place for kids and adults Like a mini zoo We took nice photos
Great place to bring a family.. Local animals, picnic area, presentations.
Excellent place to go to admire wild creatures outdoors. My favourite were the eagles, owls, ravens, lynx, wolves, and arctic foxes. Kids and adults will love it.
Not many local places doing something for local wildlife and education thereof. A must visit place if you have any interest in anything wild. Also a great day trip for families of all ages, all year round.
Fabulous experience especially for children. Lots of animals, birds and reptiles too. Has indoor picnic area for families too
A zoo and no animals to see how come !? bhahaha lol
The otters ????
This is one of my favorite places on the island and one of the best zoos I've been to. The work they do is great and the animals look happy and healthy.
Great condition of all. My kids like visit this place. Again again and again
Very nice place. They provide a safe environment for animals that were either born in human care or that are unable to survive in the wild on their own. The workers are very polite and welcoming. The kids had an amazing time and even got to touch a little harmless garden snake.
