Great local zoo! The experience was better than larger zoos such as the San Diego Wild Animal park. Not as many animals, but the layout was great with good info. Kids loved it.
Very nice zoo. The trails can be a little bumpy or sandy also very long walks. Most of the park has pavement or wood boardwalks. Overall very nice, if tram is running it will definitely save some energy. We visited and the kids really wanted the train but the sign said out for maintenance. Otherwise everything appeared to be open. Visited on 8/17/18.
Best zoo day ever! The animals were active and several put on quite a show! Our three granddaughters were super entertained and loved the cheetahs, wolves and lions. I love the peacocks! So loud, and they were very show offie! May not be a word but that is what they were!! We have a grandparents pass and it will definitely get lots of use!
Animals. Less people than usual. Social distancing was pretty easy. Employees were as always pleasant.
Went here on a family trip (ages 10-60) everyone enjoyed themselves and the park. One of the best zoos that we have ever visited.
Right now with the weather being a little unpredictable it can be a little hit or miss for some of the animals (like the giraffes) but if you plan it on the right day its just as wonderful as always. They removed the swamp walk a while back but excitingly theyre going to be turning it into a dinosaur themed encounter which sounds wonderful for the kids as well as dino lovers! Im always excited to see these beautiful creatures, and help keep this wonderful rehabilitation/conservation focused zoo on the map.
Very nice zoo. Enclosures are spacious and you can tell the animals are comfortable. They have an amazing giraffe deck in the Africa section. It has awesome trails to walk to each exhibit as well. Very enjoyable, will definitely visit again.
Delightful. Easy access, small zoo that can be walked in 3 hours. Fun feeding the giraffes. Very reasonable price.
I was very disappointing not kept up the bathrooms were gross and no animals to see their only a had full the gift was eveb disappointing
Fun for the kids but you can tell by the empty habitats and lack of maintenance in some locations that this zoo is in a sad state
Even tho it was cold and rainy we enjoyed it as we always do at binder park. ♡

I love this zoo. It might not be as big as some others, but that almost makes it better. It's less overwhelming. And you actually get to pet the giraffes.
Had a great time.. All hand sanitizer station were empty.. 1 was even growing a mold.. Would've given 5 star if not out of hand sanitizer and a sign about save the herd every 6 ft.. But Most of the animals were out.. I did enjoy the day!
I love the Binder Park Zoo, but am disappointed in the selection of food that is offered. There is not a lot to choose from and it is expensive. Bring back the items that were simple and quick.
A lot of the exhibits were closed, but they have one where you are able to feed the giraffe, that was cool.
Paid $55 dollars for two adults and two little kids to go see some animals and done more walking then there were animals. I would suggest going to an animal shelter you will see more animals. Joke !
The girls love it but I've been to better zoos, not bad for a small zoo

I had a great experience at the Binder Park Zoo! I can’t wait to come back soon to visit the dinosaur section of the zoo (opening soon).
So many animals to see. Great walk! The Africa area is amazing! Feeding the giraffes is an experience you and your kids will never forget! There is also a kid zone where they can feed and pet goats and other animals. Bring quarters so you can buy the animal snacks. There is a change maker in the petting zoo area as well.
I do not really like zoos but I was impressed with this one the animals were well taken care of there was a lot of room for them to actually enjoy zoo life and this zoo has programs for helping endangered wildlife.
Great experience to go by yourself or with others
Went today, it was enjoyable seeing all of the different animals, kindve irritated as well with my visit, as I'm walking from each animal I start to notice barely any of them have water in their enclosures, as it's almost 90° The bears are panting, hogs trying to find the littlest amount of wet mud, Lion and his lady panting without any water, even the tortoise didn't have any, seems to be the place is not getting the proper care and requirements for their animals. Started to pay attention to each animal, and most of every animal we encountered there was not any water to be found in their enclosure. Great zoo to see many different animals just also a neglectful zoo, Not sure who's running the place but it's absurd to not have their water filled. Especially on a hot summer day here in Michigan.
One of the best zoo's I've been to. You can tell a lot of work went into this place. The animals are well cared for and have excellent habitats to live in. Much better than I expected. They really go out of their way to make it feel like you are in some other part of the world. We'll be back!
The zoo was nice. Decently priced. Like always, you never know if and when animals will be out and active, but even the sleeping lions could be seen. It was a nice zoo to walk, the walk to Africa is not bad but the tram is recommended if you have a heavier stroller/wagon or are not up for walking because it is a bit of a hike. We enjoyed our visit!
It's a cute zoo. The only downfall this time was that quite a few exhibits were closed due to remodeling. I love taking the tram to Africa. I remember making my 3 year believe we were actually going to Africa. ????????
It's great to feel like you can donate to the animals. And you know they live there... Not that you'll see much of them when you visit. Considering covid and you can't use drinking fountains it's expensive to stay hydrated with there prices for liquids period. there gonna get themselves in trouble when someone passes out standing in their unshaded lines.
Very underwhelming as far as zoosk go. Many exhibits have no educational signs explaining what the animal is. It would be nice to have that. Also, near the cheeta's are signs with animals with . Thank you.fence cutout viewing areas. When you look through these, the cheeta's are seen. What is the relationship of these animals to the cheeta's? Ate they prey or animals that live in symbiosis with the cheeta's? There also needs to be more smoother trails in Africa for wheelchair, stroller accesibility
I have been going to binder park zoo since I was 2 years old. I am 31 now, and I still enjoy going. Lots of walking so bring comfy shoes and powder the thighs lol. Feeding the giraffes has been my favorite part ever since they added the wild Africa side of the park. Admission isn't terrible, food prices are kind of what you'd expect. I will say I respect the step they took to help reduce reuse and recycle by adding water bottle fill up water fountains. I checked the numbers on the 3 that I used to fill up my water bottle, they have saved the planet over 25,000 water bottles.
If you can, go on a weekday, midday. Its so quiet and peaceful!
Overall good little zoo. Great for going for a long walk and seeing animals. Overall they all seemed happy and healthy, they really put a lot of thought into into most the habitats.
This zoo was amazing. You can feed the giraffes which was a lot of fun. It was a but of a hike between animals and the enclosures were huge. Definately go check out the Africa area and take the free ride because it's a bit of a walk

I had a great time with my family, really enjoyed the animals but grip the place could have had better upkeep.
Love this zoo! Lots of animals and you get to feed the giraffes. Plus they have a few dinosaur statues and my son is obsessed with dinosaurs
MORE NINJAS ATTACKED MY FAMILY AND ME AT THE ZOO TODAY!! LUCKILY MASTER SHIFU HELPED US OUT IN THE BEGINNING!!! RED PANDAS ROCK
This is a really underrated zoo. My family loves to go to different zoos and for the mid-sizes zoos we have been to, this was one of the better ones in my opinion. The views in the lower savannah area with the zebra, giraffes, ostrich is one of the coolest views I have seen. The zoo is very spacious, so if you are up for some exercise, make the walk, I did but the rest of my family took the trolley. The walk is definitely not easy. Also the Zebra feeding area is too high so the kids had to feed the giraffe through the fence. Definitely would consider making the trip up to this zoo again in the future.
Oh wow where do I start. First make sure you wear your walking shoes!! This is a great place to visit. If I lived down there, i would get a season pass and go everyday just for the walking to stay in shape. The animals were wonderful. A wide variety of animals and it was easy to get pictures of them. They do offer scooters and baby strollers to those that need the for a small charge. They have 2 restaurants and 2 gift shops. The prices are on the high side but if you've got the extra money, why not get a good meal and a sourivor to take home with you. They also have a tram to take you from one section to another unless you want to walk half a mile to the other section. We loved this zoo, it's so big and fun as well as educational .
Love it. Was disappointed that the wolf exhibit was under construction. But I'm sure it will be very nice.
Decided to make a day trip to see the zoo. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The zoo had several nice features, reminiscent of the Wild Animal Park in San Diego (on a smaller scale). The exhibits were spacious and provided more opportunity to see animals roam. The giraffe feeding was great fun for both of my kids, they loved the chance the zoo afforded them. The walking path was well laid-out, with plenty of informative props and stylistic choices. It was a lot of fun to walk around, it took us about 3 hours to see everything, but it could be hard if you struggle with slopes and dirt paths, much of the "Africa" section was gravel paths.
Couldn't see animals for the trees. Rode the train nice sooth RIDE & the through out the Zoo were very pleasant.

Do you like to walk? Do you like to sometimes see a sad animal in an overgrown enclosure? Binder Park is for you! I’m pretty sure we saw more random chipmunks along the trails over actual wild animals and a huge variety of native bugs living in the restrooms.
It was great, always love seeing animals in enclosures that are more similar to their natural habitats. Feeding the giraffes is always fun and a unique experience.
Overall good zoo. Giraffe feeding is cool. Carousel was fun for the kids.
Could only do half the park because to get to the half way point, it was an up hill treck for about 1 mile. It was too much for us seniors.
Not to many animals. Food prices are outrageous. Why doesn't this place have any I mean ANY baby changing stations on their lavatories. Had to change my grandchild outside where predators could be lurking. Not good.
Zoo was great ..lots of exhibits and areas were closed but the wandering peacocks made up for that.. Long lines though so plan ahead...
It is a great family place. Fun full day outing. Our favorite part was getting to feed the giraffes but there was so much more and it's such a wide open zoo and so cost effective. I love it!
All the animals are out and about.
Great small zoo but lots to do!
The best part was being able to feed the giraffes. You get so close to them, even my 4 year old was able to feed the shorter giraffes which still allowed her to be behind the fence. There are plenty of others animals there too, which made the whole experience great. I definitely recommend coming here if your in town.
I love the zoo bit was a little disappointed in how many displays were not open. The nursery wasn't open either. Some of the birds looked under the weather.
This zoo said they had over 500 animals. Dont even com close. Maybe 100 if you count every frog and snake. Big disapoinment traveled 3 hrs to go. Won't do that again!

One of the BEST zoos in the MidWest! We went 7/13/2020. Free parking and the price to get in is not crazy. The tram to the African section is also free, but there is also an option to walk half a mile there if you wanted. We arrived when they opened to try and avoid crowds and lines. It did get busy towards the end of our trip, but people were maintaining distance. Probably their best exhibit is the over 17acre enclosure for their giraffes, zebras, ostriches and a few type of deer. THAT is what every zoo should have for giraffes (not a small, less then half an acre of dirt to walk on and live in). The opportunity to feed the giraffes is amazing. Some complain that the prices for the lettuce to feed is "high", but I feel that is to be expected. I wish some of the other exhibits were a bit larger, they seem to have the space to expand them. They all were informative about the animals, and had multiple view points to best see the animals. The huts, decorations and signs in the Zuri (African part) were a great touch. It made us feel more immersed The wandering peacocks were nice to see. One peahen even had three young babies with her. Took about two hours to go through the zoo, and we took our time with many of the animals. I did not visit the children's part of the zoo, but from what I saw, it seemed nice. There were swings and a jungle set for kids to play on. COVID-19 procedures: Most people were respectful and waited their turns, no crowding. The new safety measures did make the wait for the Tram slower, as they could not fill the seats. The wait for feeding the Giraffes also was beginning to get long, as they were maintaining distance there as well. ONE NEGATIVE: the prices of drinks/food are high. And much of their gift shop as well. There are a FEW items for under $15 so maybe you can get something for your child or yourself without breaking the bank. BUT you can always bring food and exit the zoo to eat. Save your receipt to get back in. *Also, parents, please do NOT let your children chase the peacocks. Was very disappointed when I saw a young boy chasing a peacock and the parents did nothing about it.
Great exhibits, red panda, lemurs, lions, snow leopard, kangaroos. Lots of walking, and hilly, need to be in shape to push stroller
Not a small Zoo, which many expect, but just the right size. Ample areas to walk around, and the added bonus of having friendly Giraffes and peacocks, made my girlfriend quite happy to be there!
We had a great time at the zoo yesterday. We got there right at 9 on a Saturday and took the first tram to the African section of the zoo. It was fantastic and not crowded at all! We got back to the lower section around 11:30 and the crowds were quite a bit bigger, but still manageable. The only animals we didn't really get a good look at were the dingos and the snow leopard. They were snoozing in the sun. The male lion was up and about, and the cheetahs we're very playful, pouncing around and chasing each other. Really, all the animals seemed content and well cared for. It was well worth the trip for us and we'll definitely be back!

Its a nice little zoo to kill a couple hours. Africa is the best part no doubt. They do charge half price if u have membership to other zoos on their affiliation list
I just visited this zoo for the first time yesterday and i was completely blown away. I love how the zoo is set in the woods so not only are you getting to see all of these amazing animals but you are also getting to walk around nature versus a bunch of concrete. A great deal for the price of the tickets and getting to feed the giraffes was an experience I will never forget. We didn’t buy any food or drinks while there because the prices for everything were really high, but that is to be expected at a zoo. I will always recommend this zoo to people and will be coming back myself!
There were so many animals not on exhibit when we went. Then one of the food places was closed and we waited 45 minutes for one of our orders, while watching orders go out that were placed AFTER our order at the food place in the africa park. Had a good time, but would have liked to have seen more of the animals.
Wonderful zoo. Loved feeding the giraffes.
Poor excuse for a zoo. Free parking was good. Adult price was fair. Child’s price was too high. 5 yrs. and under should be free. To charge extra for a boring, boring train ride, that you can’t tell a kid NO....!!! Is disgusting. The biggest attraction is the giraffes, they price gouge you $ 8.00 for a few PCs. Of romaine lettuce, to feed them. Lots of walking, but there is a lot of shaded walkways. That was nice. Oh yah, you probably wouldn’t want to buy lunch there. Very easy going day, except for extra, extra unnecessary expenses. Hope this was helpful.
Great zoo for kids, adults and families! Lots of unique and exotic animals. Zoo staff is friendly, would go there again ????????
We had a wonderful time and appreciate that social distancing is strongly encouraged by employees.
Was not impressed with this zoo. This zoo boasts 433 acres with large areas of no animals to view. Lots of walking, plenty of greenery, but very few animals for so large an area. Mosquitos ate us alive. I've been to many other zoos; John Ball, Detroit, Boulder Ridge, and the St. Louis Zoo. They all have more animals to view in a shorter distance from one another than Binder. The cost to get in is outrageous, you get charged for parking, and you see very few animals. The best part of this zoo was the train ride, but unfortunately it goes through a swamp and you see no animals. The train ride would be better if it went around the perimeter of the park for instance with stops to get off and look around at different exhibits. The St. Louis Zoo does this and it was awesome. I will not be coming back. Boulder Ridge in Alto, MI, is much better and its only 80 acres.

Wasn't overly crowded, friendly staff, we all had fun seeing the different animals.
I love this place. Animals are so cute. You should also visit.
We have been going to the zoo for many years and it never gets old or disappoints! They kept visitors safe and our experience was just as great.
Nice Zoo. DO REMEBER TO BRING BUGSPRAY!!!! The mosquitos are horrible on the trails through the zoo. Otherwise it was great. The gift shops are nice and have a large variety of items. They do close everything right at 5pm so get there early. We did not get to see about half of the zoo because we did not know how long it was going to take to hike the trail through Africa.
Nice local zoo offering attendee's the opportunity to feed the giraffes! Loved it!
Had a great overnight camping with the scouts. Zoo facilities were so so, but the zoo staff that hosted us was incredible. They did so many activities for the kids, it was great.
Amazing zoo. Lots of shade and very active animals
We had an awesome time at this place. We brought the old (in their 80s needing a wheelchair) and the young (needing a stroller). There was some our wheels couldn't make but for the most part I got the wheel chair everywhere it needed to go. Wonderful park like setting. TONS OF SHADE. We have a membership and can't wait to use it this summer! Our out of town family was amazed by this place!
No joke - the best zoo I've been to. I've been to the zoos in Grand Rapids, Omaha, Detroit, and this one takes the cake. Everything is within a great walking distance, and if it isn't, there's a free shuttle to the next place. Great selection of animals with great signage throughout the entire zoo.
Good price and the animals were out we got to see a good selection of animald
Nice zoo with lots of shade on a hot day. The African walkabout had some great views of giraffes, zebras, and ostrich.
Overgrown weeds so kids can't see over them. An hour wait for $20 chicken tenders and fries at the restaurant in the Safari. Will NOT be back. Glad I didn't sign up for the membership. Not a single employee walking around to be able to ask questions. The place is going down hill
One of our families favorite places to spend the day! Best zoo ever????????
Such a great zoo to visit! Clean and well kept, great place to get outside for some fresh air and see some animals!
This place is VERY expensive for food, snacks, drinks, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. This isn't the 1st time I have been but this time the animal enclosures looked dirty and sad. I hope this improves quickly as this isn't the normal standard.
For a conservation its a GREAT place, for a zoo.....not so much. Too many privacy fences, too many obstacles for actually viewing the animals in their habitats. This place is all about the animals, which is great! But its not a zoo. Zoos …
I really enjoy this zoo, it's big, spacious, and pretty well kept. Theres alot of walking to do so be prepared. But also be prepared for some beautiful views and an amazing opportunity to feed some giraffes!

Wonderful time. Many animals, great photos
First time there and loved it. Not from Michigan was visiting with family and we went here, my daughter enjoyed feeding the giraffes, will definitely come again.
$11–15
No wait
Such a beautiful zoo. I come from Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, which is one of the best in the country, and Binder Zoo definitely compares. There is so much to see and do. The animals seem active and the staff is nice. LOTS of walking, make sure to wear your best shoes.
Main attraction is feeding the giraffes. Some exhibits were closed or you just couldn't see the animal. Small zoo. Handicapped accessible. Restrooms. You don't have to pay for parking. They have a gift shop and restraunt. No shade for eating at most tables

Half of the attractions seemed to be shut down. Animals were so far away, would have been closer had I stayed home and just watched national geographic. Cost too much for the bare minimal we were able to do and see. Pretty disappointed.
Great Zoo. Lots of fun.
It was crowded, but you could avoid the bigger groups of people pretty easily. Lots of hand sanitizer spread out around the zoo. We had a nice time being outside and seeing the animals.
We've brought my children to Binder Park Zoo 3-4x over the years because we all love animals, feeding the giraffes and the fabulous face paintings we always get! But, we were very disappointed with our visit yesterday! I had called ahead the day prior to make sure they were open now after the Covid, and to see if there were any regulations. I was told they were completely open and the only regulation was that visitors must wear masks while feeding the giraffes. At our visit yesterday we paid the expensive admission rates ready for a day of fun, but soon were disappointed! Many enclosures were empty, blocked off or closed! The entire petting zoo and feeding of animals there was closed, the train rides around the zoo were closed, all the cafes but 1 were closed, only 1 gift shop was open, trails around the pond were blocked off, carousel was closed, the fabulous face painting was closed etc and on top of that we were eaten alive by mosquitoes! Even the machines where you put in 2 quarters and a penny and it gives you the penny smashed w the zoo name and an animal imprinted on it either wouldn't work or ate your money and nothing came out! We were so looking forward to this because we can't afford to do things like this often (once every couple of years) and left severely bummed out! It felt like we spent so much money and only received a small portion of what we paid for! I know some things may be closed still bc of the Covid scare, but feel like that should have been communicated to us when we called ahead to check on things the day before....it felt misleading to get our money!!! If they had told us we would have understood and just chosen to come later in the summer once things opened more! Feeding the giraffes was still amazing, but just that alone wasn't worth the cost of buying every little piece of lettuce from them and the expensive admission. We chose to drive the 1.5hr trip over going to John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids bc of all the extra things to do that made it unique and worth the money, next time we will probably choose differently! And the saddest part about it being so disappointing is that now we don't have the money to do something different as a family!
Caught a glimpse of one of the Clouded Leopards. I was great to be able to get away from everyday life.
The one bad thing about the trip was, that they put some animals away for the winter ????. My 5yr old daughter, just loves the animals. It's so beautiful now as the leaves are turning and falling. We had a great time there today!
$11–15
Went on the second to last day of the season, loved it, the animals look like they're well taken care of, loved the zebra tram, the African section of the zoo, there were some peacocks walking around the zoo. Loved that you can see the …
We were searching for a place to go for a family vacation, we chose this zoo to go on our first family road trip and are so happy with our choice. All the bad reviews lately made us nervous as we were on our way but they were all so wrong. All the animals had great exhibits, the prices were low, and most of the employees were very friendly and helpful. We will be going back next year to hopefully see a lion exhibit that we helped donate too! The giraffe feeding ,nature trail, and carousal was our favorite part :)
This zoo is amazing I like it better than the Detroit zoo some exhibits were not open but still had a good time.
Not enough exhibits, waste alot of time walking around and there is nothing new or renovation since the last time I been there which was over 10+ years ago
We love Binder Park Zoo. The African plain is so cool, a great idea that has been delivered to near perfection. The new lion exhibit is nice too. It's worth the trip.
An enjoyable experience. A place where one can see such amazing animals, some I would never see if it weren't for places like Binder Park. Most of the animals were very active and interacted with us. The staff was very kind, incredibly …
Very fun zoo! Get there when they first open to avoid long lines and to take your time seeing the animals instead of having to navigate crowds. My family and I arrived 1 hr after opening and stayed for almost 5 hrs. We were able to take the …
Feeding the giraffes was a highlight, our kids had a great time. Expect a lot of walking - the park is very spread out for the number of animals you see. The naturalistic habitats were fun to see, the African exhibit actually felt like it could be part of the grasslands.
It was ok but needs to bed refurbished easier walking trails
Amazing! We booked our daughters 5th birthday here during off season and we were highly impressed! We had the entire carousel building to ourselves and the person from the zoo was so helpful! She asked us what we wanted to do so we were always on our schedule. She also brought out two animals for us to see and she educated us on them along with some facts about the zoo itself. We were able to ride the carousel, and use the photo booth they had there. It was all around just an awesome experience for a reasonable price! I highly recommend the off-season carousel party package based off of our experience ????
The open paddock with giraffes, addax, and zebra is super cool. You can feed the giraffes as well.
I didn't like that it is so very hard for anybody handicapped to go through North Africa if they would have it paved or continue with the plank Bridges it would be fine but when it goes from wood to Stone and then to sand it gets impossible for anybody in a wheelchair or even an electric one to go any further and I was under the understanding that the trolley was going to take us all up and down
Great family fun! We like to go once a year and it's always a great value for money and good time with family. There are usually guides out with smaller animals so you can have up close encounters. Peacocks everywhere which the kids love. I like the swamp trail myself, just to enjoy nature. Drinks/snacks are same price as any other outing.. a little overpriced. The dining hall food is not so great. I would recommend packing a picnic and eating at one of the benches. Something for everyone
Visited on
Main dining area was closed. Children's area closed for reconstruction and no face painting. Short help.
Great experience and staff was super friendly. The mosquitoes weren't horrible but definitely were out. Plan at least 4 hours we did the African portion in about 2 hours. Masks are not required and there's no distancing on the team. Gift shop and food rather pricey but that not unusual for the venue. There are picnic tables in the grassy areas of the parking lot and lots of benches around the zoo. There are sensory bags available and stroller rentals. Wear nonslip soled shoes the boardwalks are a bit slippery from tree yuck. There was a line to feed the giraffes but it moved pretty quickly.
Not sure
We had a great time. I wasn't expecting it to be a hike, so keep that in mind. They do have a big wagon- type vehicle that totes people up the hill side, but the wait adds to your time there. If I remember correctly, there's a sign that …

First time being there. Absolutely love it there. The giraffe feeding experience is so cool. My boys loved it.
This zoo is amazing I like it better than the Detroit zoo some exhibits were not open but still had a good time.
Wonderful place to bring the family. Lots of walking and the Africa exhibit was a so fun to experience! Less animals then John Ball zoo, but still a great place and friendly workers! There were a few areas that made it hard to see with all of the people crammed into one small area, but never the less a great place to take kids and family!
I have always enjoyed coming to Binder Park Zoo, however, this time was a big surprise And not for the better. Lacking many exhibits, roped off areas with no true explanation, no nature path any longer and a large lack of animals. I totally understand covid has a LOT to do with this. For the safety of the animals and lack of staff too it is somewhat understandable. However, can’t we reduce the rate a bit then? What used to take us 6-7 hours to enjoy the whole place we now were done in 2 hours. The Carousel also was disappointing, 3 times around for $3? Come on! Such a disappointment to the kids! And when did you start charging for parking??? I look forward to a much improved visit someday in the future, but it may be many years.
What a wonderful zoo! Great animal exhibits and knowledgeable staff. Feeding the giraffes was amazing. It is $8 for 5 pieces of lettuce, but the pieces are big so they can be ripped into a couple pieces. Wonderful food in the cafe not overpriced for the quality and quantity. A great day!
Beautiful place, the animal area are like there natural habitat.
Great place to visit with the family. Be ready to walk alot
Love this zoo! I went here often as a kid into my teens. Now I get to bring my kids here as well! I love the constant new attractions they are adding! It still has the same nostalgic feel from when I was a kid while adding on new attractions to keep me coming back!
Great place to go with families to see the animals..
It was decent, most of the animals were sleeping, not a massive amount of animal exhibits
Feeding the giraffes was so much fun!!
Okay okay now this is coming from a 28 year old that went with other friends, no children. The plan was to spend was to spend the day there. We finished the zoo in maybe 2 hours. We drove an hour from Holland. Not worth it. Many animals were not in their exhibits. The wolves are not there, the bald eagles and many others were absent. You can see they are building newer exhibits but still. No aviary or reptile house. Its clean and nice if you want to walk around for burning energy. None of the vending machines are working, only place to buy a bottled pop or water is the restuarant at the entrance or the gift shop in wild Africa. Honestly it was a let down on how much we planned to go to the Zoo. We should have gone else where or stuck to old john ball in GR.
I enjoyed our time today at your zoo! Some animals were off exhibit but the interactive, zoo-wide mosquito exhibit was painful, highly recommend bug spray when we tour again.
Pretty much everything was closed up! And as expensive as it is, I was very unhappy!
This is my favorite zoo! The animals have lots of space. I just wish the swamp nature walk was fixed that would be really nice. But its still fun to go there. And my boyfriend (Fiance) proposed to me yesterday by the Lions exhibit! So sweet!
Great hidden gem. It's a smaller zoo but very nice with lots of exhibits for kids to climb on and play in between visiting the animals. Plus being smaller we didn't have to fight the crowds to see everything like at other bigger locations. Just make sure to bring bug spray as it is located in a forest.
The zoo is great. But the short staff hurts them. The main restaurant is closed (no staff) and your wait time to order and get food at the Kalahari in Wild Africa is an hour. Still a great place for families.
This is an amazing place to take kids of all ages. We were there at the same time as some school, the zoo was packed with lots and lots of kids we could not make it to all the sites, but we enjoyed every minute, even though we were there for only an hour! It was worth it.
Ok so this Zoo used to be amazing too me, I understand COVID has changed a few things but still this zoo has gotten boring not much to see little attractions and not worth the $14/person
Drove two hours just to be forced to walk half a mile uphill and then another 0.8 miles just to wait in line 20 mins to see giraffes. If you want to pay rediculous money just to hike long trails that feature no animals on the way and get bitten up by mosquitoes then this is the place for you. There are barely any animals at this zoo, what the heck is with that? Half of things were closed off. I seen no zoo employees except those handing out the tickets. It seemed so barren. Miserable enclosure for the owls. Dingos looked depressed and understimulated.

Great experience, lots to interact with. Met a 90 yo tortoise named Al. Reasonably priced. Great day!
Great nature walk but barely any animals and all most of the exhibits closed or under construction. And come on. Middle of giraffe feeding on a Saturday with kids lined up everywhere and you have a dead zebra laying in the sun with other animals walking around it. I'm no PETA person but just not cool
Fun for the kids but you can tell by the empty habitats and lack of maintenance in some locations that this zoo is in a sad state
We had a great time! Lots of fun and fed the giraffes. Spent 4 hours and it did not disappoint.
Alot more walking than there are animals. Which is nice for the animals who actually have space. However the Lynx exhibit needs some heavy cleaning. With covid and it looks like some remodeling there's even less to see rn. I think it was poorly planned to only have a few people feeding giraffes at a time bc of covid bc when I went labor day weekend there instead was a ridiculously long line of about 80-100 people waiting bunched together like sardines.
Very fun zoo. Lots to look at but the animal spaces are so small.
Very fun place to go! Reasonably priced and a ton to do!
It was a good zoo. There is plenty that you can see but there was alot of animals not at there exhibits (wish I would've known ahead of time my family and I would have waited). The giraffe feeding was very affordable (masks required for feeding).
Love the natural wood walkways. The Africa exhibit is AMAZING! And the food was delicious. I was kind of surprised by how great the food was! Highly recommend.
Weekday
Great time with the kids. Great selection of animals. Loved the tram to Africa. The train. The carousel. Ice cream.
Not too busy. Was hot but animals were out just not moving much .
Weekday
First time there and loved it. Not from Michigan was visiting with family and we went here, my daughter enjoyed feeding the giraffes, will definitely come again.
Great membership to have. Always a good time spending the day with the family and animals.
Our family loves this zoo. The season passes as well as regular admission is very affordable. The Giraffe feeding is an amazing experience and one of our favorite activities.
Everything came together today to make a great zoo experience. The weather was really warm, the animals were out and visible and all the new exhibits were open. We really had a great time and plan on going back soon.
Me and my family had a wonderful time all the animals were out in the nice weather they also have zooarasic a new area great time thank you
Excellent zoo, just so long as you don't mind walking!
I cant say enough of my love for this place! I love how it keeps expanding! Food is rather pricey and not that great. The animals are great. Seen the new lion addition and he was super lazy but it was warm today. Best part if it all was the new baby giraffe!!!! Feeding the giraffes is such a great experience. I recommend that if you travel here you must feed the giraffes! It took us about 5 hrs altogether but that was upon myself as i kind of had a not lookin and gawking moment and sprained my ankle. Petting zoo is fun for the little ones to get right involved with the some animals. Very friendly staff all over the place and a very clean zoo as well. Creates wonderful memories!!!
Absolutely wonderful! My granddaughter LOVED the giraffes. A great day to remember.
Lots of closed exhibits, prices raised this year and new exhibits not open when season opened. This use to be the zoo to go to in Michigan but it has lost its glamour for some reason. Buildings falling into disrepair also.
The zoo was amazing! All the exhibits were so planned out for the animals. It was lovely to see. Amazing Zoo!!
The park continues to get better every year. (Bring bug spray, the misquote exhibit must not be complete because those guys were wandering everywhere!????)
Pop machines weren't supplied properly so it was hard to get a beverage like Gatorade or water or you hit one button and got something else. Didn't get to see too many animals except in Africa.
The train ride to the other side of the park is nice, but the line is usually quite long. If you enjoy walking, you can hike it to the other side of the park to enjoy a relaxing stroll through the wilderness. Also you can feed the giraffes!
We had a good time. Sadly some of the animals did not make an appearance. Which happens no biggie. We saw the Lions which was a big hit with the kids.
Feeding Giraffes is the highlight. It has a lot of cool areas set up to look like an Arican safari. The food is pricey of course. The experience is great. There's a transport or a long walk and there is a train for fun. You can feed llamas and goats (and pet and brush them). No touchy the llama though. There's a cool area when you walk through, there's flags above. I was very surprised at how nice it is compared to other zoos in Michigan. I highly recommend especially for little ones. Our 2 year old enjoyed everything. They even have a playground area and several statues for kids to sit on and take pictures.
Keeping in mind things are not what we consider normal and with the precautions being taken for Covid 19, it was great to be back at Binder park zoo. It was a hot day but with so much shade at the zoo it wasn't that bad for us. Great outing.
Been going to this zoo for 25 years. Nice to see most animals have more space to roam than other zoos. Needs some updates but overall it’s still a great zoo to visit with kids or (now) grandkids!
Over priced for the fact there’s more trees than actual exhibits. And then the exhibits they did have half were closed and blocked off. The other half have like one animal in there. It’s quite depressing in fact. Two real places to eat and one one had hot food but no where does it say that so once you leave that area to go to the next you’re stuck with cold food that’s 10 times the price they’re actually worth. Luckily I don’t live here I would absolutely hate for this to be my local zoo
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ! Nothing but a nature walk . VERY DISAPPOINTED and so were my grandchildren . You walk and walk to see nothing . It is not a ZOO . A ZOO has more then 30 animals ! The Animals had no water such a hot day ! It needs to be reported !
I'm spoiled with two large zoos in Chicago, but this is a great zoo! There are several interactive exhibits, and you can easily do the whole zoo in a day. The tram to Africa isn't the most efficient - we waited in line for close to 30 minutes - but it's worth it. Definitely worth the visit!

So much fun! More like a wildlife sanctuary than a typical zoo. Love the Africa exhibit and feeding the giraffes!!!
Nice animals with large habitat which makes them hard to sometimes see - and large fences are issues for small kids. Animals are spread out so a LOT of walking with nothing but trees to look at. Does not allow for picnicking inside zoo and activities are expensive. Great to visit once a year but not a 'go often' place in my opinion.
$16–20
Super fun albeit crowded. Don't miss feeding the giraffes since they get up close and personal with you and it makes for some great photos ???????? The shade from the trees everywhere is awesome in the heat but just watch for mosquitos ????
It was adventurous. A lot to see and a lot of walking (good exercise) Some things were closed due to COVID. But it was understandable. Always pack a picnic lunch and take advantage of eating at their picnic location. A great family day of fun and outdoor adventure.
Nicely maintained and wood trails to feels the beauti of nature, trees. Lot of space given to animals to feel like in jungle. Lot of greenery all over the zoo. Ample parking space available. If visiting over long weekend then plan to reach …
Loved this is Zoo! It is a wonderful place to take family. It feels like you're on a nature walk through a beautiful Park. Lovely setting for animals. Neat things to see like the giant dinosaur. A nice petting area for Animals. Some of the hikes are long but the train is a wonderful option and much fun to ride. They had fantastic staff they're doing face paintings, a bit pricey but worth the money as you wouldn't do it very often. We took great pictures of the kids faces painted up. The only downside is you cannot take food into the park. However they do have a lovely picnic area on the premises outside of the zoo.
This zoo is a very fun zoo and my family and I had a very nice experience there... There were many peacocks wondering the park, a couple on the outside too, we got a nice welcome with the peacocks that we saw... All in all it was a very nice experience. 10/10 would recommend
It's always a great time at Binder, with the cooler weather the animals were all out and enjoying the nice breeze as we did.
Its not like it was when I was a kid. Not as many animal like when I was a kid. Everything is to over grow not neat like it was when I was a kid. But my kids still loved it so Thats what matters

There were so many animals not on exhibit when we went. Then one of the food places was closed and we waited 45 minutes for one of our orders, while watching orders go out that were placed AFTER our order at the food place in the africa park. Had a good time, but would have liked to have seen more of the animals.
First time visiting with family and honestly it was a huge disappointment. You do more walking than seeing the actual animals. We finished in about 2 hours. I hope that in the future they will add more exhibits, but we shall see.
Very good variety of animals and plenty of space. The animals didn't looked trapped, the enclosures are large and they take advantage of them roaming all over. We went on a colder day and the animals were all very active which was fun.
Love the way it's laid, sort of winding like a surprise around each corner. Loved feeding the giraffes, mama and baby. It was really cool. The place was clean, staff seemed happy to be there, and the exhibits were clean and seeing giraffes with so much space running around in the sunshine was really cool. I highly recommend.
Not much to see at this time and the concessions are mostly closed. Worth going there to help the animals.
Ya no The place looked really run down and there was not a lot of animals no pleased very expensive too
Great zoo. Very clean. Good variety of animals. My families favorite exhibits were the bears, lions and giraffes.
Binder Park Zoo is great. When my kids were younger we would take frequent trips to the zoo and the kids always had fun. We especially like riding the train and the Africa area. They have done a lot to make that area seem like you're really in Africa in a way that Disney does.
Very clean and I liked the way the animals have big enclosures ????
Great Zoo with tons of shade and fun Giraffe feeding zone. Good food in the Africa region. The Chinese red panda is a must see!!!
We love it at binder park zoo, year after yar it never gets old, always exciting and we love how the animals have plenty of room,to roam they're not cramped in like other zoos we have visited as in Toledo and Lansing.

My daughter had fun. She did point out that some of the animals looked sad ☹️. I myself am hopeful that the enclosures for the animals will some day be bigger. I feel that the zoo's priority should enlarging the "habitats" of the all animals that currently call Binder Park home. Staff was very friendly.
They might not have as many of the big ticket animals like other zoos, but they have a really unique experience with their African part of the park that you shouldn't miss.
The animals seemed sad like a little more then usual. Other then that ok ig
The animals are very active and the staff is so friendly with great energy!
I was pretty disappointed at the price of the zoo. I spent 65 dollars to walk, see maybe 5 animals and then go home. Several exhibits were empty, lines were long so we couldn't even feed the giraffe. I haven't been here in years but mostly likely I won't be back for many more years.
Great place to spend a day the animals were active my kids loved it and is mostly handicap accessible we have someone with a wheelchair and we went through the entire zoo we had a little trouble in the Africa part but were warned well. …
Love Binder Zoo. The atmosphere is unlike any zoo I have ever been to. Also love feeding the Giraffe.
Love Binder Park Zoo! Took our granddaughters for the afternoon. Lots of animals, enjoyed the clean park, they fed the giraffes and really enjoyed themselves. This is our favorite zoo and will be back again this summer!
I love the Binder park zoo great family get together
Got to have cake where the lions exhibit is. Loved the experience of seeing all the animals there. The staff was very helpful and they keep the zoo very clean.
We made a 4th generational trip from Bay City. My mother and grandmother use to take us there. I took my son as a child and now my son took his kids. Alot has changed over the years but one thing has remained the same . It is still a fun place to take your family for a day of fun.

My daughter loves it here. Sad the petting zoo is gone but the Dino exhibit was pretty cool.
One of our favorite zoo's to visit every year! Always seem to be working on something to make the zoo better! Love when they bring the animals out to show and teach kids about them!
It's always amazing to visit this zoo. Wild peacocks roam in and around the zoo and there are plenty of guest services. The staff are so friendly and easy to approach. Also they offer scooters for those who are in need.
Great place, awesome trails for walking with family. Lots of great up close animals Lots of space, not crowded
A lot bigger than expected. Not a zoo person but im glad most of the animals have a larger space to run versus clevelands metroparks zoo.
Binder Park Zoo was an awesome place and it was so much fun for the whole family. They took the correct COVID-19 precautions. The animals were incredible.
Love the Zoo. With little ones it always makes it interesting. The goats and play area for little ones is being redesigned right now. It is sectioned off. There is still plenty to do elsewhere. Like the metal butterfly ???? benches added through out the park. With nice days here, it is a popular choice.
I was very disappointed in my visit yesterday. The animals that needed space to roam didn’t have the room they needed. The animals looked sad and looked like they were trying to find a way out. The most irritating thing I saw at the zoo yesterday, was the animals barely had any water and it was 80° out. I will definitely not be back to Binder Park zoo. I don’t care how many workers you have or don’t have, the number one priority should be the animals! Making sure they have enough food and water, especially on a hot day!
There was one person doing tickets and they were very slow. Took over 10 mins and there was only one family in front of us. The zoo itself wasn't very busy. But there isn't that many animals to see or the ones you can are hiding. Not worth the 14.25 to get in per person.. giving a 3 because my kids liked the zoo
Not worth the rising costs to attend. We have been going here almost once a year for the past few years, we noticed this year that we consistently leave the Zoo feeling like we wasted our money & time. Compared to the many other Zoo’s around the country, this one places as one of the poorest of values for quality family time in our opinion. We probably wont be going back unless we are obligated to for a group event.
I didn't see as many animals as I thought I would possibly due to the heat.
Had a great time feeding the giraffes with my little ones. It was extremely humid but all the animals were out. Only complaint was the monkey exhibit was closed.
Best zoo experience my kids and I have ever had. From the drive in to the parking lot to the exhibits, everything was awesome. Never pet a Giraffe before..
I love this zoo. They are making a lot of upgrades so should be even better in a year. Not sure why all the zoos are doing dinosaur exhibits. Must bring in revenue. The best part of this zoo. Feeding the giraffes. They are awesome. I love the whole African area. And the prairie dogs of course. They are always awesome.
Good time even though alot was close down due to covid still got to feed the giraffes which was our ultimate goal for the day
Not to impressed! We actually saw alot of nothing, giraffes were cool, as long as you pay to feed them, not very scenic as far as flowers ect. The bears were not very happy, about 4" of water, and waterfall was broke! Over $30 admission to spend more money to feed giraffes!!
I was very disappointed in my trip to the zoo today as so many exhibits were still closed. I cant understand the concept in waiting next to someone in line for 20 minutes to feed the giraffes and then being required to put a mask on you were forced to buy 1 if you didn't have one once you got to the front of the line to feed them. I mean I just stood next to this person for 20 minutes lol. I thought the food prices were outrages and yes you could bring a cooler with food but you can't bring it in so you would have to walk all the way back to the parking lot to get it. Maybe this zoo will be better once all the restrictions are lifted but I kinda thought it was a waste of money.
Fine but got lost several times n face to face with Lion. behind glass ha. 400+ acres! Largest in la mitton Mich.
We had a good time at the zoo. Some of the animals weren't out but they gave a discount at the entrance because of this. We got to feed the giraffes which is cool. On a Monday in September we had the zoo mostly to ourselves so that was kinda cool.
We planned a trip to go to binder zoo from Muskegon and it was a serious disappointment. I felt like we paid 70$ to walk a marathon in the woods…. Most of the animals were not visible or there was no animal in the cage at that time. I the whole petting zoo was shut down. There is no way we should have been charged full priced for things to be half open or working. We won’t be going back. Both times I have planned trips there it was a let down.
This is the first time I have visited a zoo as an adult, and it was fun. A lot of the animals were napping, but the zoo was clean and the staff was friendly. I got to feed a giraffe! That was a cool experience. Will definitely come back when I have child!
Terribly mismanaged. They let in way more people than they can accommodate. 45min line for EVERYTHING! Don't waste your time.
Awesome Zoo. It was so worth the hour and a half drive. Things are a little expensive inside, but I mean they kind of have to make money. Let's just say that I ate outside. LOL don't be cheap use the tram, unless you're in to walking long distances. They take really good care of the animals there. It really makes you want to be there. At the Wild Africa part I saw a Cheetah eyeing those animals on the other side. It kind of made me sad a little. I really grateful that I don't have to go all the way to Africa to see a Giraffe or a Cheetah, etc. I really enjoyed my time there.
Such a natural environment, the habitats usually are large enclosures rather than cages, with lots of natural spaces in between. It's like taking a lovely walk in the woods, with animal exhibits along the way. Feeding the giraffes is always a delight, for all ages!
LOVE this zoo. So many animals and is the biggest zoo in Michigan. You can tell the animals are well taken care of and are happy there. There is so much you can do in the zoo and see and simply not enough time in a day.
Not what it used to be. They are currently charging 2.00 for parking- i was part of a carpool and still had to pay that fee. The children's park is closed, not much for little ones to do. Alot of exhibitions were closed, they dont inform …
Feeding the giraffes hands down made the zoo the best trip ever.
It was a great day at the zoo. There were many animals off exhibit though. Children's area is closed for renovations. I missed seeing the bunnies and farm animals.
Do you like to walk? Do you like to sometimes see a sad animal in an overgrown enclosure? Binder Park is for you! I’m pretty sure we saw more random chipmunks along the trails over actual wild animals and a huge variety of native bugs living in the restrooms.
Overall good zoo. Giraffe feeding is cool. Carousel was fun for the kids.
Price for adult entry
Great zoo, very nice staff. Make sure you have at least 4 hours to get all the way through. Walk to the giraffes is a nice/steep uphill work out, just take the tram and walk back.
Visited on
Great place for all ages! Tons of animals...even a petting zoo with goats, pony's,donkeys, and llamas. Train ride for $3...and a concession stand that is not too over priced.
Don't waist your time or energy!!! We drove an hour and a half to specifically see what all the hype about this park is.... First half to walk through we maybe seen 2 animals(11am and shady) Second half of the park were the bigger animals. $8 for 1 pieces of lettuce to feed the giraffes.. that's if you want to wait(with little kids)a half hour or more in line. And with covid still around. No.body had spaces between groups of people. 2 adults and a4yr old- meals were$9a pieces. So all together we spent almost$80 to see maybe 8 animals total.
One of the best zoos we've been too.
Feeding the giraffes was so much fun!! Pretty cheap and a lot of interesting animals to see.
A lot of fun for the kids. Best part is feeding the giraffes.
Binder Park is a great local zoo for anyone in the South West Michigan area. they have a good mix of local and a far animals from black bears to lions and giraffes. Yes, you can feed the giraffes too! Zoo boo is also a great fall activity coming up.
$11–15
A wonderful experience because most of the zoo has plenty of trees that make it feels like a jungle experience. There are plenty of animals .The most important thing is this zoo depends on ticket sales and your generous purchase helps these animals and the workers safe.
I was used to OLD Binder Park. We’d have picnics there, walk the trails, play by the small dam. After I graduated from high school, the NEW park arrived as the Binder Park Zoo made its debut. What an amazing change! It is a remarkable institution, and could justifiably be considered Battle Creek’s pride and joy. It is one of the largest zoos in the state, and they have used the space well. There is an elevated trail with a giraffe-feeding platform, and a train for children. My own kids loved the train, and the petting zoo generally. Binder Park has continued to develop exhibits and programs that are interesting and enjoyable. It’s always fun.
Great day yesterday at Binder Park Zoo. This is the second time I have gone there. It wasn't too busy and tons of natural shade. I like how close we can get to the animals. You can pet many of them like the giraffes, llamas and barnyard animals. My fov is feeding the giraffes. The animals are very well cared for and look in great condition. (I am a farmer. Some were a little overfed.) The signs for the animals were very educational. Everything was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Food at the restaurant was good. The only minor suggestion I would give is that I wish the tables in the food area were wiped down more often. Our family had a great time walking through the natural areas from animals to animals. If I lived closer, I would volunteer to help with the gardens and talk to people about conservation and local efforts.
We attended the Tour De Zoo at the Binder Park Zoo. I had never been to this zoo before but was really impressed! It was after hours so a lot of the animals weren't out anymore, but the big ones were! We saw beautiful giraffes, zebras, and a giant turtle! The zoo terrain was a bit rocky on a bike, but so much fun! Can't wait to go again next year!
Great little zoo... nice walk thru with a good walk/hike to the African Plains exhibits.
Wait time
Really love this zoo. Great layout. A beautiful walk through nature.
Best zoo in michigan. Staff is amazing and the exhibits are getting better. The park itself is slightly small but very well placed. We go here more than any other zoo.
Walking a lot , as expected. Beautiful fall weather. Saw most of the animals, some were sleeping, I guess. Two days before the season ended, so about a 1/4 of animals already moved. Lovely zoo, in spite of missing animals.
Not my favorite zoo and not sure it's worth the money to go. There isn't a ton to see and the layout was just kind of weird to me and tough with young children.
Had a great overnight camping with the scouts. Zoo facilities were so so, but the zoo staff that hosted us was incredible. They did so many activities for the kids, it was great.
I love this zoo, it may not have more animals than this one, or a cooler this, or that than this other one. But it has the coolest events and the most natural land of any zoo I have been to. It's not uncommon that you walk by and some zoo resident is out of the cage and on display by a handler. I miss a lot of events not having kids of my own, but there are plenty of 'adult only' events that are always a blast. Several events here are on my permanent calender. I am considering getting a membership just to allow them to keep the fun going. Staff is the greatest and even led my wife and I through a 'secret passage' at the end of an event to get us to the gate faster. Do yourself a favor and follow this zoo.
This is a great local zoo. They have a nice selection of animals and things for young kids to do. They have a train which takes you on a nature path through the woods. They have a small petting zoo, you can feed and brush goats. The zoo includes a Wild Africa portion, you get to see close up Giraffes and feed them as well. In the summer of 2017 they recently added a Lion exhabit. Its a great place for families and any animal lover.
Not sure
One of the best zoos we've been too.
Got there 20 minutes before they opened. Still took us an hour to get into zoo. 1 person taking money. 2 for members though. Decent zoo, feeding giraffes is cool.
Nice zoo to stroll in, limited animals; zebras, ostrich and giraffes are fun to see in their pasture area.
Very crowded, wish more of the staff would be available to tell about the animals. Other than that it was great!
No wait
Had a great time. Not much for food this time because a couple places were closed. What was open was pricey but good.
Great small trip day. I suggest looking into the membership for families. Great value for our family of 5. Don't miss the albino kangaroo.
They need more signs on trails, to tell you where you are at. A lot of things closed, animals are gorgeous ❤️.
Africa is great! Lots of exotics on that leg of the walk. Zoo is on the smaller side which makes it great for smaller children. If you have teens, opt for a larger zoo. The new Zoorasic Park attraction looks fun, although it wasn't open yet most of the visible displays looked great.
They might not have as many of the big ticket animals like other zoos, but they have a really unique experience with their African part of the park that you shouldn't miss.
Always a fun time with the giraffes. Wish more than one food place was open though.
It was a great experience, but the swamp walk was not open unfortunately. You can spend several hours here with the whole family easily! Parking is free. There was only the one cafeteria at the entrance and gift shop at the exit that were open when we visited.
Loved it!
One of our favorite zoo's to visit every year! Always seem to be working on something to make the zoo better! Love when they bring the animals out to show and teach kids about them!
Very Nice Small/Medium size zoo. Exhibits are nice. The African Jungle trail is really nice atmosphere. Giraffe feeding is top notch. They also have good food options. Would recommend as one of best in Michigan.
This is the first time I have visited a zoo as an adult, and it was fun. A lot of the animals were napping, but the zoo was clean and the staff was friendly. I got to feed a giraffe! That was a cool experience. Will definitely come back when I have child!
Great walking views. About half the animals were no shows, but it was a lovely day and my grandson had fun
Very nice place. Lots of animals and the park is very nice to walk through
We had an absolute blast! We went during the reptiles weekend and the hands on reptile exibits were a lots of fun. It helped a lot to dispell the kids fears of what they didn't understand about the reptiles. The other exibits were a lot of fun too. Some of the animals were hard to see at times, but this also means the exibits were spacious enough to aid in animal comfort. The zoo was was clean the goat petting exibits were kept up on when it came to "not having to watch too closely where you step" prices of admission were good and condescension prices were compatible to other theme parks. All in all it was a great experience!
Not my favorite zoo and not sure it's worth the money to go. There isn't a ton to see and the layout was just kind of weird to me and tough with young children.
Giraffe feeding ends at 4pm or earlier if they run out of lettuce so go early.
A very different zoo setup from what I'm used to seeing. Was really sweet how they integrated the wooded area into the exhibits. The African exhibit is worth the price of admission all its own!! Wil definitely be visiting again!!
It was a great day at the zoo. There were many animals off exhibit though. Children's area is closed for renovations. I missed seeing the bunnies and farm animals.
Our family recently visited this zoo for the first time and it was awesome! A huge majority of the zoo is shaded which is WONDERFUL on hot summer days. They have a train and a special trolley type ride to take you to one side of the park or the other. The one side is called "Africa" and it is set up to mimic the Savannah. Animals roam freely for you to see. It was so nice to see them more naturally. They have a super fun carosel ride and all the other usual zoo goodies. It is definitely worth a visit!
For being Michigan's biggest zoo there isn't that many animals. They are all spaced out. For a family of 5 it was $67 just for entry! When a whole years pass is only $97. …
This is a terrible zoo! Very run down . And a whole lot of nothing for animals . And of the few animals there were they looked sad and depressed . I would not reccomend this .
Wonderful zoo experience. Was better than I anticipated it's a pretty big zoo. Woodsy, tons of animals and wildlife. Part of a national park and zoo/aquarium consortium, was half off, pretty cool. There's a train and petting zoo even, I loved the goats. Food is pricey but whatever, it was pretty good though. Definitely enjoyed it, we're coming back.
This place is big but small they keep the zoo so clean it is amazing. You can definitely spend the whole day here. Bring cash if you want to feed the giraffes. So much to see a do. Bring thoes walking shoes.
Great zoo for family and kids. Be prepared for long walk. Can find African animals like giraffe and zebra. This zoo is better tha Detroit zoo. Look for event calendar.
Kids love this zoo highly recommend you take kids friendly staff lots of animals
Quite a few exhibites closed without advance notice. Charged for parking and didn't even drive there. Other people took us in their van.
Beautoful especially africa walk through. I got stranded due to uber and a lady took me and my daughter home really care about their animals.
Great zoo . But could not see a few animals. Friendly workers fair prices
Great zoo! Clean! Large animal spaces. Love the are multiple areas to view the same animal. Will definitely be back!!
Awesome zoo with many different animals to see. The wild Africa side is real neat where you also get to feed giraffes. This was definitely my kids highlight of the day. Give yourself plenty of time to explore every inch of this zoo. You won't be disappointed
Staff is very friendly. I could stay there all day feeding the giraffes
Not what it used to be. They are currently charging 2.00 for parking- i was part of a carpool and still had to pay that fee. The children's park is closed, not much for little ones to do. Alot of exhibitions were closed, they dont inform you of that and you still pay full price for admission. Very disappointed. Staff was not very friendly, although I believe his name was Rick was good
A great smaller zoo. Always reccomended
Was very accessible. Staff was helpful and attentive. Food prices were a little high but over all was an amazing experience.
We really enjoyed this zoo overall, and will definitely come back in the future! The animals have nice enclosures with trees and grass, rather than the typical cement boxes I'm used to seeing. And the entire place seems well maintained, without the usual litter and debris. Our favorite part was, of course, feeding the giraffes. My only gripe is the price of food and drink, but being a privately funded zoo that uses those profits for the animals, I don't mind paying a little more for a few things.
Animals. Less people than usual. Social distancing was pretty easy. Employees were as always pleasant.
Fun place to bring the kids. The Africa exhibit is my favorite part. Parts of the zoo are starting to feel a little tired, but it's still a worthwhile trip and very easy to spend the whole day!
This place is great if you have time on your hands and love to walk. Very pretty and open. Make sure to bring bug spray as most of the park is in wooded areas
We love this zoo! Animals seem to have a lot of room. The giraffe feeding area is the best in any zoo we have been to and we've been to over a dozen!
The zoo is set up in a simple format and easy to navigate; there are plenty of signs around the park. It is a bit of a walk to get to the Africa section of the zoo, but there is a tram that leaves periodically. The viewing area for the African savanna is really great because the animals can come up close, and you can even pet and feed the giraffes!
Up to 10 min
Such a great zoo! I love all the peacocks walking around everywhere, the opportunity to feed the giraffes, and the realistic-appearing enclosures. The amount of shade was great too, considering how hot it got when we were there!
Good price and the animals were out we got to see a good selection of animald
Great place to visit.Enjoyed the fact the animals weren't so compact and close together, lots of walking, and optional trails if you like more of a naturalistic walk. Information : Admission was 13.50$ per person, Drinks were 5$, with 1$ Refills, Lettuce to feed the giraffe 5$ for a container of about 10~ Lettuce leafs, or 1$ per leaf.I'd say it was around 2-3 miles of walking, with 4-5 optional if you wanted to go along certain trails. The Tram was also a good 15-20 minute wait depending on how busy, has a handicap section if you need for a wheelchair. The Zoo has about 5~ Mist stations, great for hot days cooling yourself off, 3~ free drinking fountains. Also, it would seem no smoking allowed throughout entire park. Overall it was well worth it :)
Had a great day, but seems more líke nature trails, wíth different añimals. My grandbabies loved it but I think it's móre for kidß like 5/6, not so much a 3 añd 4
Nice change from our local zoo. Entry was free with our reciprocal zoo membership. They were doing their Lego statue event, and the kids loved it. Nice up be so close to the penguins.
Wasn't absolutely thrilled to be honest. We made it a day trip and got there at opening. Perfect for those that enjoy more of a nature walk type of zoo. Often times there was more greenery than actual animals. $70+ for a family of 5 which is quite outrageous for what they have to offer in my opinion. Luckily our local zoo membership made it half the cost, still wouldn't go back. The train is cute but the ride offered absolutely no viewing of any animals. BRING BUG SPRAY we were eaten alive just waiting to purchase tickets and while waiting for train. We have toddlers that couldn't ride carousel alone and were charged to get one with them (standing) where our zoo we only pay for child. They had two gift shops, ice cream, dip and dots and a couple souvenirs shops. Again not terrible, staff was friendly, zoo was clean just not a fan.
Beautifully set zoo it is very conveniently located and the experience was excellent ????????????????
Took the family for opening day 2021. Nice that places are opening back up. With covid still ongoing not all areas are open but their website does a great job posting that info. Would of gave 5 stars but both ice cream stations weren't open(they should be open in the future)
This place is a diamond in the ruff. It may not be a well known zoo but it is well worth the money. It has a few animals that you can pet and feed. The walking trails are very easy to manage with a stroller. It is also very kid-friendly lots of stuff for young kids to do and see. Prices for food are on the higher side but you have to think they are using the money to build a bigger and better experience. Thank you Binder Park Zoo.
Good experience. Couldn't see the snow leopard and lions were staying in the shade. Fed giraffes which was really cool!

The staff is friendly and the animals are soooooo cute! ???? I would ideally go early morning Sunday if you want some peace and quiet to see the animals.
Different, covid has changed everything. Alot of areas closed or ropped off. Feeding animals no longer allowed.

Had a great time here. Friendly atmosphere and it's clear that the animals are well kept and happy in their habitats. Alot of them are friendly and a few even showed off for us. We had one funny ostrich do a little dance and smile at us for a minute.
Been exploring binder since I was a child. It's a great little getaway. The white kangaroo was a surprise! I week later my 3 year old is still talking about how much fun he had.
The zoo was alright for being just opened after the corona pandemic. Be sure to bring in ur own drinks cuz none of the machines worked inside the zoo but the ones right before u go into the zoo did work. I'm not going to say anything bad about the zoo it's a good zoo. We will go back in August after we get use to this new norm.
Very nice family zoo, we had a blast looking at the animals and walking the trails. Recommended for a nice weekend day get a way.
We always enjoy going to Binder Park Zoo. The animals are always interactive and fun. Lots of things for kids to do.
I absolutely have always loved binder park zoo. Its clean and everything is labeled great so you know where you're going. The petting zoo part is so cute! The goats are just adorable and I love that you can feed them. We didn't get to see many exhibits because we had to leave early, not because of anything to do with the zoo though. What we did get to see was nice. I just wish we would've made it to wild Africa. But we will go back and see everything. I tried to get pictures and I know some are blurry and the sloth is not easy to see lol overall I give it 5 stars!
Granddaughter loved zoorassic exhibit ♥

It's an ok zoo. Feeding the giraffes is cool, but I just don't think we will go to this zoo again.
Really nicely maintained zoo. Lots of shade so you aren't always in the sun
Great zoo. Visited for the first time with 3 1/2 and 11 year old grandsons. Lots of walking but it had nice shade and lots of places to sit and rest. The giraffe feeding area was awesome. You could reach out and touch them. A few of the animals were hiding and my grandson was disappointed not to see cheetahs and a couple of other animals. The food was fairly reasonable and pretty tasty. The gift shop was very nice. We spent over 4 hours there. It was worth the 2 hour drive to visit.
Beautiful zoo with shaded walking and natural exhibits. Just bought a season pass this year (worth the price!) and we love the petting area, free tram rides to the Africa exhibits, and feeding the giraffes. Love how we get discounts at other zoos from our zoo pass too!
I love.... Love..... Love animals, I tolerate people so I applied for a position they needed to fill. I was emailed a request for an interview but we had already moved back to Kalamazoo. So I had to regretfully bow out. I did make it known that if the opportunity arises again I would be very interested. I have visited the zoo on numerous occasions and I have never been disappointed. I love visiting and I would love working there. Please don't miss the opportunity to take ur family.
I shouldn't really review it I never made it inside the line was so long it would have been hours. I will say that they get people through the entrance very slowly. I have been in the past I enjoyed it.
This zoo is awesome especially for being in such a small town. The park is beautiful. Great zoo for the family.
You can tell the animals really enjoy it here. Not all of them were active but it was hot for us humans so I can't imagine how warm it was for the ones with thick fur. Animals came right up to the front of enclosures, some even posed for pictures. There was a tram available to both parts of the park which was nice, though a short walk is also possible. Nice clean facilities, though a few more restrooms along the way would have been nice. Pays for itself quickly.

Weekend
My daughter loved this place can't wait to see the changes.
Stopped here on a road trip because I wanted to do the giraffe feeding. It was so fun!!! Great for all ages. The giraffes are so friendly. Each piece of lettuce is $2, or you can buy 5 pieces for $8. They take credit cards at the giraffe station. Yes, it seems expensive for lettuce, but really you're helping provide care for the giraffes and other animals.
I've been to this zoo multiple times. The only exhibits worthwhile are the bear exhibit and the giraffe exhibit. All the other animals just lay around looking depressed. I always go first thing in the morning to ensure this doesn't happen because animals are more active in the morning. The bear exhibit could be better if they replaced the glass or cleaned it. It's always super cloudy. The giraffe exhibit is super cool but lettuce costs a lot. $2 for a piece and $8 for 5. Save your money and take a day trip to the Detroit Zoo. It blows this one away!
Weekend
This place is great if you have time on your hands and love to walk. Very pretty and open. Make sure to bring bug spray as most of the park is in wooded areas
Great zoo for small kids, manageable in size
This is a nice simple zoo that I've been to a handful of times, most recently in July 2021. Parking is easy and it's not very expensive. The walkways are wide open and clearly marked. The addition of the African area a number of years ago …
One of my favorite places!...Great exhibits, and a perfect place to wander around and see amazing animals!!
Paid $55 dollars for two adults and two little kids to go see some animals and done more walking then there were animals. I would suggest going to an animal shelter you will see more animals. Joke !
Great Zoo! Lots of wilderness walking. We loved it!
Great Zoo! There are opportunities for much walking and really taking in the beauty of nature! There is also a bus ride if you aren't into the long walks. They have an exhibit of Africa and even have the huts and information about Africa!! It is very educational and fun. I love this zoo so much that I bought a year pass for the family. A great place to spend the day with children, children learn about the animals, pet and feed animals, and children are getting exercise.
Very nice zoo. Enclosures are spacious and you can tell the animals are comfortable. They have an amazing giraffe deck in the Africa section. It has awesome trails to walk to each exhibit as well. Very enjoyable, will definitely visit again.
This is a great zoo, the African safari is one of my favorites. I do gotta say that some of the exhibits are a bit smelly. Service is great, animals are healthy, what else can we ask for.

Wonderful zoo especially the Africa exhibit. Wear good shoes as there is a lot of walking even if you take the tram. The open area with many animals zebras, giraffes and birds is reminiscent of a savannah in the wild. Don't forget cash to feed the giraffes, it's a great experience. They are very gentle in eating even for younger kids.
Price for adult entry
I love the zoo bit was a little disappointed in how many displays were not open. The nursery wasn't open either. Some of the birds looked under the weather.
The park is centered around the giraffes and you're allowed to feed them for a hefty price which I understand. The rest of the park is that of a typical zoo with the exception of how big it is. Get ready to walk long distances as the exhibits are spread out further than most.
We had a pleasant time at the zoo. There are not as many animals as a bigger zoo, but there is a fair amount of diversity. The children's portion of the zoo was well attended and the kids seemed to be having a good time. We took the tram to the Africa portion of the zoo. The animals had a large area to roam, but they came close to be fed. All in all we had a fun time.
Excellent zoo for such a smaller town like Battle Creek! Beautiful park with lots of shade so your family doesn't roast on a sunny day. The variety in animals is impressive and the zoo is very clean and easy to get around. We love the zebra tram that takes you back to the Africa exhibit. The carousel is also a favorite.
We love this local zoo because it is extremely convenient and very well kept. Although it doesn't have the variety of a larger big-city zoo, it has enough to keep us coming back year after year!
Not a fan of this zoo at all. Could barely see any animals. Perfect place if all you wanna do is walk trails.
We love trying new zoos, but this one wasn’t as good as we had anticipated! We arrived about 1:20 in the afternoon. The line to get into the zoo was very long. Fortunately, we are members and got to go to the shorter line, but we still …
I had a special request for the staff to send some pressed pennies, and they came through with flying colors. Super friendly and responsive. THANKS GUYS!!!
Weekday
Great zoo with lots of space for animals, especially the larger African type. Well worth the effort of visiting and keeping all age groups entertained and educated. Newly updated Dinosaur area is a great display guaranteed to excite all those children fascinated by Jurassic stories.
Nice place with several different types of animals. Reasonably priced and not crowed. Quick easy viewing areas for all exhibits.
A lot of people don't ware masks.
$16–20
Decent amount of animals however they are hard to view as the enclosures are decently distanced from standing areas and/or viewed through a forested area….. food options are pitiful with the “restaurant” serving room temp burgers with cold cheese and a hard bun.
Was here today. Capheteria with birds is really dirty, especially outside part. I cleaned a table with few wet napkins. My shoes after hiking usually more cleaned that their tables! Men's restroom was not so clean also.
Great zoo with large living spaces for the animals. Everything is nice and spread out too. It will easily take a 1/2 to full day to go through with kids. Also many nice picnic areas outside of the zoo for a lunch break.
Beautiful Zoo and one of my favorites. It's always really great to walk down the path and take the carts down to the back area and the animals are very close and personal unlike most other zoos. I've been to plenty of zoos before and this is truly my favorite one out there.
I used to take my son here when he was little and it was a wonderful zoo. I made the trip with my grandson and was extremely disappointed. There was almost NOTHING to see. So disappointed. Will not go back.
As a Cornell PhD student focused on African wildlife conservation, I was pumped going here. The last time was when I was 7 and feeding giraffes - that's still an exhibit today! My disappointment was not the animals. They were great, and the green, woodsy atmosphere was serene and enjoyable. My disappointment was instead more practical. The educational signs and written materials were poor, especially in the Africa section. At least half had not been updated for anywhere between 10 and 20 years. I mention this timespan because many signs had actual dates on them. The lack of up-to-date educational signage is significant because the population and rural livelihood dynamics in Africa, the role of poaching, trophy hunting, and wildlife trade, and even the implications of climate change and habitat encroachment have adapted and evolved. We now know a lot more than we used to, and the public deserves to learn this. Binder Park Zoo, please update your signs. I'm half tempted to go there myself and do it myself! Inspiring the next generation of conservationists is admirable and zoos are great for that, but please reflect the changing dynamics of the field!
This was the first time I visited the zoo and I loved it so much.
Pop machines are sketchy, lucky if they don't steal your $4 for the water you won't get. Africa dining area not cleaned between people. A lot of closed areas
Great place for all ages! Tons of animals...even a petting zoo with goats, pony's,donkeys, and llamas. Train ride for $3...and a concession stand that is not too over priced.
Really fun place got a nice photo of the great horned owl. Who showed me how he eats mice.

fun zoo but more accurately a park. went up their for mothers day and unfortunately they had most of the park closed off but still had fun!
Such a fun zoo to walk through! First time with the little one and although he can't see the animals (they are too far away for his eyesight right now), I enjoyed pushing him around. The zebra tram was super helpful to get us up to Africa and the driver was really friendly and took care of loading and unloading our stroller. The food/drink kiosks were all closed since its not really their busy season any longer, plus it was a Tuesday afternoon when we went so it wasn't busy anyway. I can't wait to go back when my 3 month old is a little bigger. The giraffes were his favorite (you can even feed them lettuce so they come right up to you)!
Hardly any animals there. They didn't adhere to the 6ft.spacing on the safari trolley. The entrance fee should have been discounted.
This zoo it's showing it's age, and admission seems expensive for what you get. In "Africa", there are long walks between animals, many animals are really far away and hard to see, and really the only highlight is feeding the giraffes, with the most expensive lettuce you've ever bought... It can be a long wait for the tram, as there is only one and it only has two cars... In the other more traditional part of the zoo the animals are closer and easier to see... Again seems like not a lot for the price of admission...

Very cool zoo, takes several hours to see everything which is great. Staff was friendly, price was decent. My family did feel like the grounds could have been upkept better. There were areas of walking path that were shut down for repair and others where wood planks were missing, wood was bowed and dangerous to walk on, bathrooms were a mess, felt dingy like a 2 star campground. Restaurant had rather disappointing food, menu was small, and it was lacking in flavor. Still a cool place to take the kids, they loved the Giraffes but needs some upkeeping.
Kids love this zoo highly recommend you take kids friendly staff lots of animals
For a small zoo they do it right. As a family we have enjoyed Binder Park Zoo for many years, and now are teaching our grandchildren to love it as well.
Very nice zoo. It was nicely wooded which provided shade on a sunny day.
Everyone was friendly, we all kept our distance due to covid, but the employees remained upbeat and positive. We were able to feed the giraffes after a thorough sanitation session and it was amazing! Also was pleased with the ride back to the safari area, well needed with a 6 and 3 year old!! Lunch was great at the Kalahari Kitchen Restaurant!
Visited this park on 3rd July. It was our toddler’s first zoo visit. She enjoyed it thoroughly. Even though it was sweltering hot, we still had a great time. The African safari was brilliant. The hike was long but there was plenty to see. A great place to mingle with wildlife & have fun! Overall it was a great experience.
Me and the fam had loads of fun at Michigan's largest zoo! The main part of the zoo is cool - platforming a diverse array of wildlife, but Wild Africa is what really sets this zoo apart from all others. Going on a safari, feeding the giraffes, and getting up close and personal with Africa's carnivores - lions, cheetahs, and painted wolves - oh yeah! - made every twist and every turn in this zoo truly spectacular! Both parts of the zoo have their own restaurant and gift shop and are truly unique. However, I would recommend making your trip here on all day event, because it takes 5+ hours to see everything.
We enjoyed the African part of the zoo, but the weekend shuttle line was too long to stand in with our young kids - couldn't keep them in one place! The rest of the zoo was just ok, but I give it a decent rating because it's flat walking, there is a fun train, and some different animals than we usually see at our zoo in Grand Rapids.
Fabulous! We go to Binder Park Zoo every year on our way to the UP - it's just beautiful with a wide variety of animals. But the main reason is to HAND FEED THE GIRAFFES!! And pet them and hug on them - they are terrific and our main focus at this zoo. Though we've come to love Al the Aldabra Tortoise and Eliza the Southern Ground Hornbill and the gorgeous lion and painted dogs and zebras and peacocks and peahens with their babies and kangaroos and...I could go on and on. We just love this zoo! GO! You will not be disappointed!!
Even though the zoo was busy, they did their best to make the experience amazing for each guest.
I must say, I was a little disappointed. I had taken my kids to the zoo probably 15 years ago, and we loved it. I just assumed it had been updated and improved like our "home" zoo (John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids), but that's not the case at all. The one up side is that the zoo was pretty empty as far as guests, so we didn't have to wait to see any of the exhibits. However, the main reason we went was to feed the giraffes. Alas, that opportunity was closed (because the giraffes were in the shade...and who could blame them in this heat). We also wanted to ride the train, but they closed that down while we were in the wild Africa section of the zoo. So it was a longer drive there and back than the actual time we spent in the zoo. I know some stuff is closed due to COVID and lack of staff, but I wish the web site had been a little better about informing us about what we would find when we got there.

Binder Park Zoo is always an amazing visit. A lovely zoo with lots of long walks and some really great animals. This zoo is always growing and improving, adding new animals and better habitats. It's like you're never visiting the same zoo twice. The giraffe outlook and feeding experience is always amazing, with more freedom and less time restrictions than the larger zoos in the area.
Quiet, shady relaxing walk through the woods with animal exhibits thrown in for good measure!
First ever visit. Very nice zoo, will be back. I do love elephants, rhinos, hippos, chimps, & gorillas. Would love if they were able to add these in the future. I also love reptile/amphibians, & penguin buildings.
A great zoo with a wide variety of animals. The zoo itself covers a large area leaving plenty of space. We were there on a very busy day, but with the layout of the zoo we never felt crowded out of an attraction, nor did we feel like we had to avoid certain areas. The staff were friendly and informative and we're very proactive when the line to enter the zoo was longer than normal. The giraffes were awesome and easy to get to by foot ( .5 mile walk) or by tram. Definitely a place worth visiting multiple times!
Giraffes you can feed! Wild Africa was the best. Plenty to see.
I will not support an organization that steals from their employees. When I was in high school, I worked for Binder Park Zoo. I was informed that if I was caught taking my own tips, I would be fired. The same went for all of my co-workers. It is only now that I realize how reprehensible this is. When I tip someone, the tip is meant for them specifically as a thanks for excellent service. If any person or company (even a non-profit organization) other than the person I am tipping takes this tip, it should be considered theft. I will never give another dollar to Binder Park Zoo. There are many other zoos. There are many other ways to support nature and wildlife preservation without supporting an organization that steals from their employees.

My 15 month old loved his first trip to the zoo
They don't have as many animals as I expected. And the animals they do have some look very ill- the birds do for sure. And it's way to expensive to get food there. $10 for a burger. Probably not gonna go again.
$11–15
It's a nice little zoo. I think we went too late in the season as many of the animals weren't out. We did take the train ride, out granddaughter enjoyed that.

I really loved visiting this zoo! They had safety signs and hand sanitizer everywhere which was nice! Some things were closed and you do pay full price but just think of it as helping the cute animals. The only thing that didn’t sit too well with me was AFTER we paid they told us they closed an hour earlier than what’s advertised on their website and what’s advertised at the entrance of the zoo. We came from out of town so we didn’t want to disappoint the kiddos so we RUSHED on through. Not sure if I missed something...so that’s why I rated 4 stars instead of 5. But other than that we truly enjoyed ourselves. It’s a very nice zoo!

I would call it more of a nature walk with animals than a zoo, would recommend going on warmer days the zoo is in the middle of a forest so it's well shaded and hopefully they will expand one day they seem to have plenty of land.

Just a few animals were not available to see. Everything else was great to see.
It was 90*+ today, but the shade on the whole walkway made it bearable to walk the zoo. Can't wait to go back!
Binder Park Zoo is one of Battle Creek's most precious gems! The animals are up close and in sight for all to see! The Lions and Painted Face Dogs were the most fascinating! There exhibit is engineered and designed for customers to get up close and personal with exotic animals. Only glass separates you as they walk towards you????
Great place to bring the family.
I wouldn't recommend this Zoo to anyone didn't like my visit whatsoever rates where to high for what you got to see and food and drinks were ridiculous
I enjoyed the zoo so much. Between all of the fun things your kids and you can enjoy is endless.. there is riding a train, riding the safari truck (has a lot of room on it for many families and wheel chair associable). Lots of animals to enjoy and see. Feeding the giraffe. Watching a lot of the animals in the large part by the food place was really neat. Zebras and ostrich giraffe was there and the list goes on. There are buggies for you to rent if needed for small ones. Lots of different food place options. Some of the vending machines for drinks were not working correct but that was fine.
It was ok but needs to bed refurbished easier walking trails
To many exhibits were closed and the classic train ride was closed. The wolf exhibit and eagle exhibits were not completed yet. Reptile exhibit closed. We still had a good day. Loved the black bears exhibit and the Lions.
Great zoo! Took the family there last weekend and had a blast. Employees were knowledgeable and helpful and the variety of animals was nice. Enjoyed the newer trails. There is a lot of walking between attractions but it looks like future expansions will fill in most of the areas without much to see. Local affordable and fun.
This zoo has a lot going for it. They have a large array of animals, along with a carousel and other fun things for young children. The African Safari area is a little far from the main zoo area, but they offer a tram ride for people who can't or don't want to walk the 10 minute uphill path. Feeding the giraffes is a memorable experience, but it is a little pricey. My biggest complaint with this zoo is that the enclosures for some of the bigger animals (lions, namely) are quite small. All in all, the zoo is fun for the kids and adults, but no so fun for the animals.
Lots of walking...wish the motorized carts were more affordable
We always have fun at Binder Park Zoo! We love feeding the giraffes ????
This was a great place to take the kids. The park was clean, the animals looks well cared and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere.

I was very disappointing not kept up the bathrooms were gross and no animals to see their only a had full the gift was eveb disappointing
We drove over 2hrs basically for exercise didn't see 1 single person check on any of the animals, the bears had zero water. The only employees we seen was people trying to make money.

Definitely a great time for kids with lots to see. They just recently upgraded the wolves exhibit and it will be even better once the Zoo-rassic Park gets finished.
We always love coming to the zoo!
Awesome time with my daughter for Father's day. Thank you Binder park zoo honestly.
I love this zoo!!! It’s small yet very nicely done. Africa exhibit is simply amazing... we watched a giraffe full out chase a zebra.. I have never seen anything like that. This zoo is a hidden gem.
The grounds are very nice. Lots of walking for not very many animals, but they have lots of space and room to roam. The animals are well taken care of and look very healthy.
Good experience. Couldn't see the snow leopard and lions were staying in the shade. Fed giraffes which was really cool!
Great zoo for kids, adults and families! Lots of unique and exotic animals. Zoo staff is friendly, would go there again ????????
What a line-con. 45m to get in on Sunday an hour after they opened. At least 15m wait for the tram to Africa. Another 30+m for food I am currently waiting on. I've been here two hours and have barely seen any animals! This place needs online ticketing and added food trucks! Not worth the admission and 1+hour drive.

The main reason for the 3 star rating is because they don't have someone maintaining the vending machines when the various concession areas are closed. We put $3.50 into one for a bottle of water, ( yes, 3.50!) And it didn't work, and the machine didn't refund the money. Also, the train ride, ( then one that you pay for, not the tram) is certainly NOT designed for adults! The benchesvthst you sit on are barely off of the deck..maybe 5 inches, which makes it almost impossible for an adult to sit comfortably. I am 6' 2" and had to get off because trying to sit cut all the circulation to my legs off. No way could I ride it. Otherwise, the displays are good, lots of variety and feeding the giraffes is pretty cool!
Very large exhibits and enclosures for the animals, which is awesome. They really know what they are doing. The zoo keepers and employees seemed to be very nice too! Oh and the bird sanctuary was very unique and had super colorful strange birdies. The map was a tad bit hard to understand but we had fun.

The people running this zoo need to get their priorities in order. I've come here since I was a child and some things have not been updated since then. The bathrooms are atrocious. Missing doors, stained toilet seats, chipped paint, and weak air hand dryers. The new wolf enclosure needs some work because there's so much shrubbery you can't see the wolves at all. Most of the other enclosures need non-reflective plexiglass because you cant see through the glare. Update the signage. Why isn't that the first thing you do when you move animals around? It was almost 90 degrees out and several animals had no water. The bears were all breathing heavily and looked distressed. And charging for parking now? C'mon.
Used to be one of my favorite small zoos. Now, it is barely staffed and poorly kept up. Would love to see this place restored to it's former glory.
My son and I absolutely ADORE coming to the zoo! He's adjusted to going on the tram to and from Africa, and he loves the giraffes, turtles, and monkeys, but especially loves Eliza, the Southern Ground Hornbill. We always feel welcomed when we go, and we bought a 2 year family membership after our first visit with him.
A very laid back, chill zoo. Great for younger kids if you don't want the hustle of a huge zoo like Toledo etc. A large part of the zoo is shaded. So even on hot summer days it's very tolerable. The food is very reasonably priced. Lots to see and enjoy. The train and trolly are fun and make for a good break after lunch. The staff are friendly and willing to explain any questions you may have. The gift shops are even decent priced, as far as gift shops go ;)
This zoo has a nice savannah area and giraffe feeding was cool. It has a variety of animals and lots of natural beauty. It needs some updating and the animals are very spread out. The area animals have seem small for the amount of land between exhibits. They charge for parking.
Tons of animals, good place to bring the family for the whole day but it's kind of expensive. Wish the tram and the train were both longer

Great experience, lots to interact with. Met a 90 yo tortoise named Al. Reasonably priced. Great day!
Binder Park is our go to Zoo. It's close to us so we like to visit when we can. It's large and clean. They've recently put in a large lion exhibit and a bear exhibit. My kids like to feed the giraffes. It's a large platform that you stand on and the giraffes come up to you to eat lettuce out of your hand. They sell the lettuce there. Check out their website for a better list of what they have. They have food there. Look at all the restaurants before you choose where to eat. I think it's more expensive in the Wild Africa side. They have a place to ride a carousel and get your face painted too. The face painting is reasonably priced. Don't bother going to the Zoo Boo!!! When I was a kid it was the coolest place to go. Now it's pathetic. The last year I took my children it was expensive and a huge disappointment. Instead of the whole zoo being a trick or treat Haven, they sectioned it off into one tiny area near a stage. You got to visit 6-8 vendors (roofing places, gutter repair, boring businesses) that didn't even dress up and they gave your kids up to 2 pieces of candy each. They were also given 1 token to ride the train. They all wanted your business but didn't seem to care at all that it was Halloween time. Binder Park, please stop doing the Zoo Boo if you're not going to put any effort into it.
Worth a visit. My first time was great. Good date idea. Or adventure with kids.
Last time my Mom went to this zoo she said it was so bad she only see the giraffe and a Zebra and Meerkats... Nothing was out at all so I would never recommend this zoo ever. We were very disappointed
Loved this zoo. Geared towards younger kids, I think. Ride over to Safari side to feed the giraffe! No elephants but that was ok. We enjoyed it.
We were incredibly impressed with this Zoo. We are members of the Detroit Zoo and they beat that hands down. We are over a two hour drive away and it was worth every minute.
Love this zoo! Lots of animals and you get to feed the giraffes. Plus they have a few dinosaur statues and my son is obsessed with dinosaurs
This zoo was bigger than we thought! There were plenty of animals on exhibit. The grounds and exhibits were well maintained, animals looked healthy and happy and the food was good. Took awhile to get through, plenty to look at to waste a day away with the family. We'll be back!
$11–15
Weekend
Love the zoo it needs more visitors to help take care of the cost of fixing the animal's housing
We went there today and hardly saw any animals because the area was empty or they had it shut so you couldnt get through. The bears had no water and one was panting like was going to die it was sad no water in 90 degree heat. The glass on the cages were so dirty we couldnt take pictures, same with the snake n reptile enclosures. I was there 4 yrs ago and it was great now I cant say much about it that's good. Sad!
$11–15
Not many animals but a beautiful location to spend a few hours of family time. Still rated 5 stars because I feel we are spoiled by the Toledo Zoo.
This is a really underrated zoo. My family loves to go to different zoos and for the mid-sizes zoos we have been to, this was one of the better ones in my opinion. The views in the lower savannah area with the zebra, giraffes, ostrich is …
Wish more stuff was open and the mosquitoes were almost unbearable. Wish the sold off spray. Other then that had a great time as always.
The zoo is amazing the restaurant they have way over 30 mins for 2 burgers and a hot dog. Sure it was busy yet, I wasn't the only one waiting way too long for our food.

Small town Zoo but price isn't bad. There's a ton of walking involved to see the African part.
No wait
This is a fantastic Zoo but plan to walk a whole bunch. It's pretty big but if you can get there before midday heat, the animals are active and the staff is super friendly. It's also not very busy if you go pretty close to open so you can get right up to the edges of the cages and Exhibits and see the animals. I probably been here four times that I've never seen the cheetah, so the jury is still out on whether or not he actually exists, but we loved feeding the giraffes so take a little bit extra cash with you so you can feed those. I think if I remember correctly it was 5 romaine lettuce leaves for 8 bucks. Totally worth it and the giraffes just love it.
I really liked this zoo. I visited with my family this summer and had a really great experience. The variety of animals was awesome and I loved the african portion of the zoo. My favorite was the girrafes and feeding them was so much fun. I would strongly recommend the Binder Park Zoo.
Very nice zoo. If you enjoy walking on well groomed walking paths in nature and fortunate enough to see some of the animals, it's a good day. The Africa section is the zoo is exceptional. The hilled landscape, huge, open area is perfect for the animals. The giraffes were the stars yesterday. Some, if not many areas of the zoo were closed.
Weekend
There are a lot of things being remodeled and upgraded right now so I know ot will be a great place to go in the near future but it was disappointing to go right now with so many things off exhibit due to renovation. This was august 2021 so maybe the 2022 season will be better.
Absolutely love this zoo! We have one every summer since moving to Kalamazoo.
Had a wonderful time with the kids we seen so many awesome animals.

Fun zoo with lots of animals. Great walking trails. Not worth $13 for a 2-year-old though.
We took our daughters to the zoo and they have made a bunch of improvements and added new attractions. Some exhibits were not open yet, but it was still nice to be able to spend time with family and check out some exotic animals. Masks were only required inside buildings.
Our first visit to Binder Park won't be our last. This Zoo felt more like an adventure than your typical zoo. We are very accustomed to John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, but this was a very different experience. John Ball gives you more animals in a shorter time period, but if you're looking for an adventure try Binder Park. Feeding the giraffes will be an experience you won't soon forget.
It was just so. Much. Fun. I can't wait till I come again
Always a fabulous experience! My boyfriend and I love coming here all the time. We just got a glimpse of the new wolf exhibit too. Different food options and plenty of drink vending machines around. Also feeding the giraffes is fantastic!
I loved how this zoo had a lot of trails and animals spread about. It made you feel like you were in the wild instead of a public place.
Alot of Exhibits were empty. Cost to feed giraffes was way to high
Amazing zoo, so natural, felt like the jungle! I have been too many zoos across the country and this zoo Rivials them all!!????????
Maybe it was a bad day to visit but I wasn't impressed. I also feel the feeding of the giraffes should've been included in the admissions. I also feel the admission to the zoo was a like pricey especially when all the exhibits weren't open. Not sure if I will make that drive again.
Up to 10 min
Great hidden zoo without the normal crowds. Bring bug spray it's located in the middle of the woods.
Great place to take the family to see animals and to spend the day having fun I loved it plan to go back many times
It's a solid zoo. It is not too expensive, and with the animals they have, I'd say it's more than fair. The strongest part of the zoo is definitely the Africa portion. It is a half mile from the main portion, but they provide a ride if you would prefer. It's nice for families as well. It is a fairly linear layout, so you will do plenty of walking. There are a few downsides. It can get crowded when the weather's nice, so try to plan your visits well. There are plenty of interactive exhibits for kids, but adults don't have many options without shelling out some extra cash. All in all, I would recommend this zoo. It's a pleasent experience worth the money. While I'm sure some of the fondness I have for the zoo stems from nostalgia, I do believe it is a good visit.
Yes
This was my first time at this zoo. I was impressed. The staff was friendly and eager to share their knowledge. I am excited to visit again.
Binder Park has always been a "must do" on our summer bucket list. We love the large habitats for the animals and the variety of animals on display, but it seems like prices have been steadily creeping up over the past few years to the point that it's no longer just a fun day trip and now something that has to be saved for. The admission price is okay, but it's the extras like the train and the carousel, that our kids love, that add an additional almost $25 to the price that make it tough to swallow. No one wants to tell their kid they can't ride the zoo train or that we need to skip the carousel when they are at the zoo to make it affordable. I'm all for supporting the animals and we love the zoo, but I feel like the prices may be deterring to some families.
great place, lots of things to see. The signs were a bit confusing though..Maybe its because the train trams aren't working.
Wait time
Over grown, very few animals able to see. Way over priced for what was there.
Weekend
If you want a very nice, small zoo come here. Covid-19 and recent storms have made less of the zoo accessible. True, but, it's less than $15 per person to visit. You're going to see lions, giraffes, and bears for less than a sad meal at the local B-Dubs. I honestly don't know what the complaints are about (for the price). If you travel hours to get here, expect a world class city zoo (think: San Diego Zoo or Bronx Zoo), and are leaving a 1-star review after paying lunch money to see it, you're writing a review about yourself, not the zoo.
Loved everything about the zoo. My grandkids loved feeding the giraffes. ❤
I used to take my son here when he was little and it was a wonderful zoo. I made the trip with my grandson and was extremely disappointed. There was almost NOTHING to see. So disappointed. Will not go back.
very nice zoo. offers a free tram ride to there African adventure
I would love to give this place 5 stars but honestly, I fear the effects of the pandemic have reached here. It is apparent the zoo is understaffed as the maintenance to do list looked long. It didn't look like they had mowed yet this season. The weeds, and grass, were very tall and a number of animals were hard to see even though they weren't from a view point. Many areas are still closed to the public, including the train, and exhibits. I did notice a few changes to the facility including the new wolf enclosure and road maintenance. My wife and I bought a membership, so hopefully this really nice attraction can get back up to speed soon.
AIM Asphalt supports our local zoo! We are lucky to have such a great zoo in Battle Creek!
Be prepared to walk 10k step in a fee hours! Waiting for the tram was ridiculously long. We loved seeing all the animals. Especially the giraffes.
Love the zoo it needs more visitors to help take care of the cost of fixing the animal's housing
I like the set up here. The extra details in the decorations along the way are a nice touch.

Very very disappointing... 3/4 of the exhibits were closed.. not mowed so you couldn't see the animals anyway... they don't tell you literally everything is closed yet still charge you full price.... I will never return to this zoo... toledo, ft Wayne, Detroit are all better options.. the tiny zoo in elkart is 100000x better then binder park
First time. Thumbs up! A few hours is not long enough to experience the whole zoo. We went straight to the giraffes as that was the whole reason we went. We live right by Potter park zoo in Lansing mi but there's no giraffe or zebra so that was awesome to be able to feed the giraffe by hand! Cheetahs were also awesome to see. Nice and friendly staff. Family had a great time!
Love animals; love zoos. Binder zoo is great with some beautiful animals.

We drove one hour and forty minutes only to find out the part of the zoo we came to see was closed. We still had to pay full price to see two sleeping bears. The train ride was a joke. It was like taking a ride through a bug filled swamp- no animals - nothing to see. The zoo was a great disappointment. We will not be back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
$6–10
Amazing zoo! Our first time, drove 1.5hrs from South Bend, IN. Arrived at 9:30am, no one was here yet, it was great. Animals were all great and look well taken care of. Tram ride to African Wild was very nice, the layout of the African Wild was really amazing. The animals have a large open field and truly look happy. It was a little too cold for the giraffes so they weren't interested in being fed. Next time we hope to do this. Carousel was $3/kid, our kids enjoyed it. The train ride was also $3/person, only one person was taking money and driving the train so it was a longer wait. Train ride takes you through the forest, not super exciting for our kids. This zoo was really cool and we will be back soon!

Binder Park Zoo is a bit out of the way to get to but you'll realize it's more than worth it once you get in the gate. It has almost doubled in size since I was a kid. The Wild Africa section of the park is worth the price of admission alone. My 2-year-old still talks about when he "feed a jurap (giraffe)." There's a new dinosaur exhibit coming soon which will add even more to the experience. Can't wait to visit again for that. Add in the huge picnic areas and this is a perfect stop for an all-day adventure. But make sure to get there right when it opens for the best parking and the most time to be able to see and do everything the park has to offer.
A pleasant surprise! Came here because my daughter won tickets and we loved it. Not crowded so we were able to take our time. The Savannah is sprawling. The giraffes were lined up waiting for their treat. Looking forward to telling our other daughter to bring the grandkids for a lot of up close and hands on things for them to do.
An enjoyable experience. A place where one can see such amazing animals, some I would never see if it weren't for places like Binder Park. Most of the animals were very active and interacted with us. The staff was very kind, incredibly helpful and very informative. The tram and the train were both so much fun. The gift shops were so cool to check out and the food was so good.
I really liked it here. It was a nice trip. I liked that you could drive to the African animals. The giraffes were the best part of our trip (2 dollars a leaf to feed them) but they were all close anyways. It was a lot of downhill walking and I could see this being a problem for wheel chairs. We had a double stroller, however, and it did just fine. I love all of the statues and the food was good. It took us about 5 hours to walk it (with small children) .
Beautiful Zoo and one of my favorites. It's always really great to walk down the path and take the carts down to the back area and the animals are very close and personal unlike most other zoos. I've been to plenty of zoos before and this is truly my favorite one out there.
The zoo is the perfect size, you can see all of the animals and take your time, the animals are beautiful and the staff is very informative and friendly.
We enjoyed this outdoor zoo experience. Waited in line as it opened and took the first train ride of the day with only 4 of us on the train. Nicely paved or packed surfaces to walk on with many photo op Butterfly benches. We took the tram to the African exhibit which is where we saw the lions and large tortoise, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, etc. Liked the carousel with many unique animals. Overall a fun family experience. Only neg...2 Pepsi's and 2 waters cost 14.50 so take in a bottle of water.
It was a cute zoo. Got through the whole thing in 2 1/2 hours
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THOSE IN A WHEELCHAIR/TRANSPORT CHAIR! This Zoo is fun, but the boardwalks and the bricked paths are VERY UNEVEN! Many rotting boards. New boards stick up where they are replaced and the bricks are VERY UNEVEN. The transition between the brick and the boards is VERY UNEVEN, forming a high ledge. For someone in a wheelchair these things are of GREAT CONCERN! I was almost thrown out of my chair a couple of times when the front wheels got stuck. My husband was able to push me to the place where you can feed the Giraffes, but it is down a fairly steep grade of boardwalk with several places where it was a challenge to get wheels over it. This was where there was a transition from the boardwalk to gravel then back to the boardwalk. Once there, it was fun to feed the Giraffes, and watch kids feeding them also. Anyone in a wheelchair will NOT be able to get past the Giraffe feeding station - for there is a very large portion of the path that is gravel and uneven. My husband walked the whole path alone the first time, so he could determine which part of the "Wild Africas Walking Path" I could access in my chair. Too bad this Zoo isn't taking better care of the pathways, so that us in wheelchairs can easily use it! They charge us full price, but we aren't able to see all of the zoo!

Very disappointed in the disrepair of the zoo. The buildings and exhibits were in sad shape. They havent had any repairs in what looked like years. There were rotten boards and moss growing on the buildings and the walkways. The bathrooms were disgusting. We noticed that it looked like there was no landscaping done when we first parked our car. But that was an understatement as we were inside the zoo as well. The weeds were so tall the children couldnt see the animals in some cases. There was trash in one of the exhibits. So many exhibits were empty and it was obvious the animals were not there for a long while. The animals that we did see were pacing and seemingly distressed. The glass around the zoo in the various exhibits was filthy. When my children were young it seemed like a happy place and now that i have grandchildren i was hoping to create new memories. I don't see that happening at the Binder Park Zoo.
Went to the Binder Park Zoo with a group of grandchildren in age from 8 to 15. There is a lot of walking as you would expect. The animals are arranged by continent with "Africa" being the most developed. There is a tram ride that travels to one of the sites or you can choose the 1/2 mile walk. Everything here is wheel chair accessible. We all enjoyed the zoo.
This Zoo is one of the best in the country, it takes about 4 to 6 hours to go through the whole zoo. It has an amazing African exhibit that recreates some really cool African wilderness experience. They have giraffe that you can feed. They just added a lion exhibit that is awesome. Also, if you eat their the food is reasonable and very tasty. If you love zoos and have not been put Binder Park on the top of your list.
Very friendly staff! My grandkids loved it!
I've always loved this zoo! They keep improving their habitats for the better of the animals and keep everything so clean. The giraffes are always a blast to feed and the majority of animals are usually active and in view.

Being my first time visiting here since i was a child, i got to experience this with my children, they added new additions to the park and they also make the experience great as well, if your looking for something to do with your kid's, significant other or just want to get out and see some animals this is a highly recommend place to visit.
We've always enjoyed this zoo, but it was a little disappointing with some closed exhibits due to COVID limitations. The best thing about this zoo is the natural setting, literally in the woods. And feeding the giraffes, of course!
Definitely my favorite zoo by far, way better than John ball or the one in Lansing. Would highly recommend, worth the drive!

I ALWAYS have a great time at Binder Zoo. My family and I have visited every summer for the past 3 years. I'm so excited for the Zoorasic park to open for the kids!
I've gone to this zoo since I was a little girl and each time it's wonderful and enjoyable! It feels more like a nature walk with animals especially the Safari area. It's well maintained after all these years and now I take my daughter to this zoo and love it just as much!
Yes
Such a great zoo to visit! Clean and well kept, great place to get outside for some fresh air and see some animals!
I understand the virus and everything. But you should update you're website with what's open in you're zoo! Because half of the exhibits are closed, and yet you are making people pay full price. What for just to walk around! This was a joke! I would like half my money back! Would not recommend going to this zoo until more of their exhibits are open! Also for two drinks spent over 30$ seriously
I went there and enjoyed it very much. But, I was very frustrated by how difficult it was to locate and walk to the free tram, which takes you to the main part of the zoo to see many animals. There was little signage. The map did not help that much. And it was a long walk, at least a half mile. Most people had young children with them, who seemed to enjoy it very much. Difficult for people who can not walk far.
Weekend
Zoo was great ..lots of exhibits and areas were closed but the wandering peacocks made up for that.. Long lines though so plan ahead...
Not to many animals. Food prices are outrageous. Why doesn't this place have any I mean ANY baby changing stations on their lavatories. Had to change my grandchild outside where predators could be lurking. Not good.
I want so badly to give this review 5 stars - perhaps once things start opening up and I return I can update then. We arrived around 1pm and it was a relatively quick entry. What I loved most about the park is the walking and coverage you have from trees with the sun and exhibits so make sure you wear comfortable shoes! The animals were pretty active and it rained on and off during our visit but it made it so much more enjoyable with the heat and seeing some animals become very active in the rain. We also got a chance to talk with lots of people while we were taking cover and our kids playing in the rain. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because there was very little food vendors open and the train was down and not being allowed to bring in coolers it got a little rough at the end with my toddlers from their long adventurous day! I know some of the exhibits and stores/food shops were closed due to restrictions but its an important part of the zoo experience with all the walking and sun for customers but especially the children! Again, had a great time and look forward to bringing my children back. Thank you Binder Park Zoo!
The Old part is quaint and Wild Africa is an excellent presentation. A walk through the exhibits like a safari.
We visited this so for the first time. Overall it was nice. Layout is a little confusing your first time around. I loved feeding the giraffes!

I spent the day with my nephew and his Cub Scouts at Binder Park on Saturday and the entire experience was wonderful. They were invited to attend a special behind the scenes presentation about conservation as well as predators and prey. The kids were very excited to be allowed to have a hands on experience with a Magascar hissing cockroach, a snake native to Michigan and a armadillo. Amy was absolutely great with the room full of 4th graders and infinitely patient. We explored the zoo for nearly 6 hours and my nephew could have stayed looking at the red panda for hours if we let him. For me the snow leopard was the best. It prowled right up to the glass and let us get a nice long look at them. There were some exhibits closed but they were clearly marked so you knew before hand. The concessions areas were clean and orderly and we thankfully didn't have to wait long for much. Overall I would love to visit again.
Haven't been here since i was a little kid. Went here today and wow! All the memorys. Still an amazing place. A must go place for animal and nature lovers. Wish i could add a million stars for this awesome place

Friendly and accommodating staff. We went late, so we didn't get to see everything but we'll be back.
Great place. Enjoyed the experience of seeing many animals. We LOVED seeing the Giraffes mostly but really liked seeing everything. The most sadly part of the whole experience is the cost of something to DRINK. I mean really 3.50 for a pop and 3.00 for WATER. I believe that if the drinks were between 1 to 2.50 then they would sell much more. The food was a little high as well. If they keep the prices down, more people would be able to buy and not bring their own. The question is: Would we go back ? Yes, But would bring a cooler with food and drinks.

I'm easy. I love zoos. But Wild Africa continues to be a world-class experience, even if the rest of the zoo isn't quite on that level.
Wonderful zoo. Loved feeding the giraffes.
Love how much room they give the animals here! Recommend and we will be back!
Binder Park is great because it's mostly outdoors and there's an immersive African exhibit. The African exhibit is a bit of walking and pathways are partially loose sediment. My toddler is too little to walk solo and the fencing was tall enough he couldn't see without me taking him in and out of his stroller
Worth the drive ! Such amazing exhibits- great for the animals and visitors too! The Africa exhibit is out of this world amazing
Binder Park Zoo is one of Battle Creek's greatest assets and an asset to all of Southwest Michigan. It is a very natural setting and a great place for the animals to live. The walk and experience you have with nature there is amazing. I love the snow leopard, wolves, bears, zebras, giraffes, llamas, lemurs, and much more. It is a great experience to go back again and again.
It was a new place for us. My grandbabies loved seeing the animals. My grandson cant wait for the dinosaur park to open
