Here you will be able to see the opinions of people who are purchasing the services and products of Discovery Wildlife Park & Campground (Zoo) near Alberta (Canada).
At the moment this business has a rating of 4.4 over 5 and this score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is very high, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the score is very reliable. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Zoo is included in the category of Zoo.
Very cool, great visit. The staff is fantastic, the trainers seem to truly care about the animals. I've actually never seen animals running and playing in a zoo before we.
Really fun! My husband and two sisters and I had a truly enjoyable time. Only stayed 2 hours late afternoon and took in our favourite wild cats and bears a few times. My husband had injured his foot earlier in the weekend and we rented a golf cart to reduce walking amount. Cheers!
Was a great experience!! The animals appear to be well taken care of and happy - would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves animals!!!
A must place to visit . Try their golf vehicle .
Absolutely amazing.
Quick weekend getaway. Loved it. All the staffs are great. Well taken care of, lots of space for animals to move around.
Im ashamed of myself for even walking in here, they have 2 bears trapped in a 15x15ft encloser with no trees for shade, no water and the sun beating directly on them. The lions have it the same way as i sure so do the other animals. I will say i didnt go past the bears as i was disgusted by the environment they were kept in. My opinion save ur money and go to a park where the animals are free to roam
Good family fun. Bear shows are worth the price of admission alone.
Real neat place. The kids loved it. We did go on a really hot day, so a few of the big cats were hiding from the sun. We rented the golf cart, huge plus with our kids. They had a blast.
Great place for kids and adults
Camped over a weekend at the campground on the property. Nice little campground, however, the campground is very close to a set of VERY active train tracks. The trains ran non-stop day and night and it was very disruptive. The animal park is a nice way to occupy a few hours.
Loved this place, it's super interactive
I loved, is not a zoo is a place where they accommodate animals that does not have where to go.
Such an Amazing place! All the animals that are at this park are animals that been treated after getting injured! You can be sure that you money going for a good cause (and the fees are pretty cheap). Also for only 10$ you can get a picture …
Great family day out and pretty decent burgers.
Very friendly staff and lots to do
Price is a little high for kids but I really enjoyed myself
Beautiful grounds. Great showings throughout the day. Reasonable pricing. Friendly staff. Closer/personal encounters with the animals. Unlike any other Zoo you have been to. Note: Ticket stub is good for the entire day - so you can leave the grounds to dine at other venues and still return later for other shows.
Really sad to see big cats that need a lot of space cooped up in small enclosures.
Awesome place to take my 1 year old without having to drive far from Red Deer. My son had a great time being able to see the animals up close. Easy for young kids.
Nice place to hang out especially for the kids, super clean wash rooms, super friendly staffs, good foods, everything is affordable.
Well maintained, not very many animals. Our food from concession was cold...cold hotdogs. Friendly staff. Expensive..for 3 adults and a toddler it was almost 70 for admission.
It was a good visit. Was great having the golf cart to use due to my disability. The staff were polite. The other customers not so much. Only recommendation i would make is to have info about the animal and how it came there and age at each enclosure as many people like us dont want to follow the big groups to do the tours and i know these are all rescues but would have liked to know more.rather than just the signs explaining the species. Other than that just very busy which was hard even using the golf cart as we were not allowed it on the grass yet people would never move even though we were driving slow. But would recommend going.
Many well cared for animals
Interesting and informative for the boys
The bear safety seminar was awesome! Love that you can rent golf carts to drive distance of park with disabled people! Whish some of the enclosures were a bit bigger for some of the animals (ie. The Serval cat)
Beautiful scenery and well kept. Staff are friendly. Great time for family
Great place
All around excellent family fun, the people are great, friendly and always available for questions
Excellent park with play structure and animals. Excellent program especially the bear one.
Even on the hot day I went, the walk to visit the animals was enjoyable. I was kinda happy the carts where all in use. The animals are well loved.
It was a typical zoo
One of the best day trips with kids around Calgary.
What a blast! Lions tigers and bears.. oh my! Lots of great info, very nice and clean facility. Animals are well taken care of and staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Great selection of items in the gift shop and lots of parking. Not a ton of food options on site but prices are reasonable and everything is clean and modern. Great place to take the kids, be sure to visit Kumar the camel.. super friendly and gentle!
Good family fun, however the paths at the back were quite a bit muddy, so we couldn't get to the last few enclosures.
Visiting Alberta and googled day trips from Edmonton. Was 100% worth the drive and was a great way to spend the day. Everyone who works here was friendly and you could tell just how much they loved their jobs. The animals are beautiful and you are able to get up close!
Amazing place to go see lots of animals and walk with wolves was great
Went there on Wednesday and they had a wolf presentation that day. They were very knowledgeable and answered questions. It's a pretty nice park and very clean with benches to sit down and have a picnic there. Only thing I dislike is that they have golf carts available for rent and most of the families that were there had them. It feels kind of disruptive to the atmosphere there, and the park isn't really large enough to warrant the carts. Still nice park though if you're on a budget.
Amazing. Good place for kids
The place was amazing. The variety of animals was incredible. This is a must-see destination. The park is stunning, the flowers and lawns are well-manicured. The only thing I did not like was two kids I saw were stung by the wasps. One on the back of the neck and the other one on the face. Hopefully next year the wasps are not as aggressive. Very good variety of gifts. There is a food venue with a small variety of food to choose from but you are more than welcome to bring a picnic basket to enjoy one of many areas in the park to eat. Camping is available, but don't be afraid of a lion's roar as an alarm clock. This is definitely a bucket list.
Cute place, my kids and I had great fun. Bring a wagon, a stroller or rent one of the golf carts there if you're bringing small children, as it's very spread out.
We visit every year
Wonderful care of the animals. Beautifully display of animals and their care. Very educational for children.
Not as big as I thought it would be but its worth every penny. Animals were all in close view and looked very well taken care of. Will be coming back year after year.
Absolutely awesome weekend, camping and a zoo, what more could you ask for!!
Good choice of animals in roomy natural living spaces.
Upbeat and knowledgeable staff. Amazing animals you can get quite close to. Well kept conditions. Open space on a beautiful landscape. One could easily spend the entire day there.
Amazing time camping and walking around the nature park.
Came here for the first time with my family, and I was really impressed. I've never felt so close to the animals... the way things are setup, it feels so intimate, and it didn't feel like we were fighting for a spot to view the animals, and the enclosures allowed for great views. The park was open and clean and well taken care of. And I've never seen animals at a regular zoo seem as happy and playful and animated as I did at Discovery. The big cats were playful and move around and seemed happy, as did the rest of the animals. Had a good time! Would definitely recommend.
Was a really nice day here today. The animals look very healthy and well cared for. The animals looked very relaxed and stress free. My husband was in a wheelchair and staff approached us to take us into the bear area prior to the many others lined up so we wouldn't be stampeded by other guest. We thought this was very nice of staff to do this as it was not expected. They had us follow them to the next viewing area before others moved along. Thanks to the nice young man who did this. I think it was his last day working here. Keep up the great work of taking care of these well looked after animals!!! The grounds were very well kept and very clean. Lots of picnic tables to have your own picnic in the park.
They have so many amazing animals that you can get close to. They do presentations with the animals throughout the day. You can rent a golf cart if needed. They also have a camp ground. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.
We went there with 2 Yong kids..staff offered golf carts to all people but not us..if you do have other ethnic background, staff will not speak to u
Good place to be with ur family
By far the best zoo I have ever been to. This place is entirely non profit. Anything you purchase within the park goes back to the animals. The zoo keepers are very knowledgeable and kind hearted. The animals are treated amazing and most of them are human friendly. There are many opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals. You can have your picture with a bear, Wolf, Beaver and much more. Many animals there are.movie stars and their bear trainer is great. During my visit I was able you get great up close. Photos and even selfie with many animals, the enclosures were large and we'll maintained, and they even sell artwork there that the animals.make using their paw prints. I've been to many zoos but as an animal lover and animal activist, this place by far takes the cake!
Great local fun. Wide selection of fun animals, camping, great way to kill a afternoon or whole day!!
Family fun..a must stop and see ...bring lunch for a picnic or support the animals and use cantine here...
Loved it!!!
Each year this park looks a little cleaner and new enclosures pop up. This year, however, i am beyond thrilled at the BIG TRUCK play structure. It is great to have a place for the littles to burn their energy! Great staff, great admission price and great selection in the gift shop.
Great place to walk around and see a few animals for a decent price. We go rained out halfway though, and in the way out they offered free passes, really impressed !
A good place to teach kids about wild animals.
We were charged 65.00 for 2 adults and 2 children. It was terrible as they made you walk the trails and everything is covered in mud!!!!! We are filthy! We tried to walk on the grass and were walking in swamps! I realize it’s been raining but at least offer a discount.
As always, a wonderful time, with beautiful, happy animals!! We love you toodles!!!
A good environmental education and family program. We loved the bears.
Lions and tigers and bears.....oh my!
A nice place to take the kids to see some animals you don't see everyday. Love that you can rent a golf cart to get around the premises, makes it easier with kids. Love the lion show.
Great experience. Can see an the animals from so close!! The bear show and lion show were great! Wall with the wolf is highlight... If course you need to be acove 12 yrs.

What a wonderful find! Loved every minute!
Awesome place to go for a day trip from Edmonton. The bears are so adorable they come right up to the fence to say hi to you. The camels and the ostriches loved attention too.
Great experience and very informative!!!
Great family experience, different than any kind of zoo. Behind the scenes cat tour is hit and miss for the price, mostly you see all of it during the shows, however in case of lazy animals and when you think it wasn't worth 10 mins of the tour, staff is friendly and fair so they accepted refund without any problems. Great place to spend a day :)
Good thing we have given this place a try. Most bears you will see in Alberta in one location.
I was very disappointed, the park cost a lot for my daughter and her 5 children. They got there at 4, they had almost got to the monkey cage, the only thing her 2 & 4 year olds wanted to see, someone had just told us we had 15 minutes left, then another man drove up and made us turn around! Not one of the animals had any kind of natural habitat enclosure, NOT ONE!
Great day with family
Super

This place is amazing for a day of family fun. The animals are well taken care of!!!! And it's cheap 20 an adult 12 a kid
Beautiful
The Zoo staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Zoo is well kept with lots of spaces for the animals to wander around. Campground is new and clean but could use a few improvements.
Great wildlife park. Various programs that you can participate in and enjoy the visit to the park.
Beautiful grounds, animals seemed happy and well cared for. Staff were informative and fun. From the moment we arrived until we left it felt like we were meant to be there and apart of the entire experience.
A wonderful opportunity to learn about wildlife close up. Photo opportunities. The trained bears act was entertaining and informational. Who knew about these things till you're exposed to them? Well worth the entrance fee.
An amazing place for the animals to live & interact with the trainers. The girls we met were so knowledgeable & you could see the animals were well kept & enjoyed the games the trainers did with them. To top it all you could have your picture taken with the bears & also walk with the wolves. Brilliant day out.
Loved this park!! Lots of animals, great shows, rented a golf cart and the prices are good. A must if your in the area
A brilliant place to visit, and the bears were fantastic. Camping was comfortable, albeit very loud with the traffic and train.
It was great, beyond expectations. Well groomed and cared for property. Got to see all the animals except the wolves and racoons. The bear cubs were adorable! Kids liked the differnt things to play on too.
I think $19 an adult is a bit much for what's there. $10 would be more fair
I really liked it. Learned a lot about bears and bear safety while I was there. The prices where a bit high to get in but it was worth it. Great job guys.
The golf cart that was given to us had very small amounts of battery charge, we had a small child that had to walk back 15 mins because the golf cart wasn't moving much under the hot sun. The staff did apologize and offered a another cart but it was almost closing time so we didn't bother. Overall it was ok.
Meh, just okay...$60 for a family of four is a little steep + the drive from Calgary. Not a bad stop if you're headed north with the kids. Weird rules around "training" required to view certain animals...from behind a fence? Couldn't go into that area with my kids where the animals were kind of close and actually visible.

You guys are expecting Teddy on Monday @ 2pm ish. Western Terrestrial garter snake ????. She's a darling!!!! I'm wondering... If you can keep her name please?
I know that the small bear Berkley live here. I saw her in Facebook and watch many of hers videos. She is a videoblog star, really. At 1/17/2018 it will be hers first birthday! Cheers, Berkley, be happy with a lot of luck!
Pricey but fun day
We came to visit friends who were camping here and were very disappointed with the treatment we received from the owners. They charged us 3$ to visit, and then made us park a couple of kilometres from the campground. We moved our vehicles, and then we were accused by one staff member of driving over their 10km/hr speed limit, even though we hadn’t. The same staff member kept stopping at the camp site and scowling at our family for no reason. The campsite are tiny and crammed together with no privacy or separation, but clean and well kept. The groundskeeper was friendly and kind.
We camped here for the first time and were moderately impressed. The campground is very neat and clean with plenty of space. Theres a nice lake and some green space for the kids to run around and the road is safe enough for bike riding. There are a few improvements the park could make though with only one lit toilet block at the entrance, If you're camping at the other end it's quite a walk in the dark with small children. The lake is great for fishing with the kids but be warned its $5 a day to fish them $5 for each fish you catch! There is no dish washing station so make sure you bring plenty of water or be prepared to pay $1 for a small bucket worth. The showers are $2 each for a short wash too. The camping was quite noisy as it's really close to the main road and the goods train tracks which go most of the night, including horns! No open fires allowed so also expect to pay for your propane fire and tank! The park itself is nice and spacious with some amazing rescue animals housed here. Bears, camels, llamas, deer, lions, tiger, Cougars etc. There is an evening encounter which was fabulous to book as a close up look at some of the cats. I dont think we will be back camping but we will visit the park again.
Omg... It was fantastic...it is fantastic... The staff n all the fur babies ... The bears are comedians n the lions too... We were able.to walk with a wolf... Priceless... She was jst like a puppy... Love kisses n huggles n her tummy rubbed... She was to good to be true... We wud like to thank the gentlemen who took us on the walk... Ok...I am so bad with names...but it was this afternoon...July 21/20 Also we would like to thank everyone there who are caring an training for all these fur babies... You all are amazing... Thank you again for a fantastic time... Have a great summer Hope to see yous all again soon... ????????????
Fun and educational place for both kids and adults.
It's a cute little wildlife park that we visited for the first time today.
Not a zoo, it's a prison. Cages are not appropriate size. The bear I saw was literally walking around in circles like it had gone crazy, & the poor monkey was all alone in a small cage. Broke my heart.
A nice experience for kids. Busy on the hot summer day we attended. Lack of shade makes it hot to walk around for long. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water.
Very rude staff, not worth the visit.
This wild life park is beautiful and a great way to spend summer days with children. And their gift shop is actually pretty inexpensive!
This was our second visit and we came back with more friends! We love this Park and the shows. You can feel that the trainers really love their jobs and the animals. Great place for practicing photography.
They were extremely nice and gave us a nice view of the animals.
ticket is expensive
Great place. Lots of love for the animals and friendly staff. For sure a place to take the family.
Awesome
It was first day of opening for walking in the park. For the bear show no one was social distancing and I was super concerned. The staff took over and did an excellent job at making sure we were all 8 feet apart. At the lion show, no one was listening for social distancing so the staff didn’t continue with the show. Shout out to the amazing staff here who did their best to make it safe for everyone. people were disrespectful and not listening and giving lots of attitude and arguments to the staff. That would be such a difficult position but I just want to say thank you to the staff for doing an amazing job!
Rates are fair. Park is clean and well maintained, lots of on-site activities for the whole family. Campground was also very well maintained and we very much enjoyed being able to see the animals from our front door! Waking up to watch the Llamas and Yak while we had our morning coffees was excellent. Thank you for the amazing experience!!
Was a decent park. Lots of bears and big wild cats.
Such a happy place for the animals and a wonderful experience!
Learned a lot... amazing experience!
Wow where do I start: the animals in there look underfed and depressed or/and on lorazepam. Really not much to offer. Some staff was nice but one asked me if I was disabled or a senior which I’m clearly none of the above. How rude! We bought a slushy and it was all syrup no crushed iced so when I went back to ask for another one, they refused saying it was just fine my slushy. I rent a cart, super expensive but the only thing worth it, you are told not to go on grass? Why? It’s golf cart. Do yourself a favour, if you are driving from north, just don’t stop here, keep driving to Calgary Zoo.
Nice place to see. Excited to see Camel
The zoo part of this park is amazing and we loved the little guinea pig display! The campground however, is terrible. Sure, it’s cheap, but there is a train that goes by at least twice every night, waking up every dog that’s staying there. The lack of trees and privacy isn’t the parks fault, so this is just a little heads up for that, not a complaint. Lastly, the service was horrible. There were 2 older gentlemen and an older woman that helped us, but they were unbelievably rude! Especially when we decided to stay at a different camp ground (so we could actually sleep) They were so rude when we checked out and were grumpy every time we saw them! Once again, the zoo is great, but there are better places to camp in Innisfail.
Super fun and great customer service.
Everyone should visit them. Both kids and parents will enjoy.
Wonderful small tidy rescue zoo. We had a great outing and met many animals. The staff were all super. We added some extra donations for the monkey exhibit.
An awesome place to spend with animals. It's different from the zoo. More close encounter with the animals, great shows, and lots of educational activities. This place is very good with kids and picnic activities. Don't miss them during summer and fall!
Unfortunately very disappointing
1st time coming here brought 3 grandkids 1st time for them Rented the cabin so we could spend tonight having a wonderful time
Beautiful setting. Informative presentations. Lions, bears and more wild life. Play climbers for kids. Lots of walking-rent a golf cart! Concession is very limited, but can bring your own snacks. Friendly service.
Nice place family time was so good
Animals are all lacking water and basic necessities.
Some beautiful creatures here. The bear show is worth waiting for. You will be surprised to find out how many places you have already seen those bears in movies and on television. Who knew such a famous bear was in central Alberta.
Place is awesome, place is big clean and have lots of animal, don't forgetvto take picture with the awesome bears.
The place is awesome... animals look healthy, courteous staff, definitely good for one time visit
Cool ????
Excellent
You can see the animals close and the bear presentation is awesome.
A nice place to visit with Kids. but on a very hot day the animals are mostly inside the shade and you cant see them
Highly recommend. The drive isn't too far, lots of parking available and the staff are great. The grounds are well kept, animals are lively and come close to the fence for close up views:)
Its good hence 4 stars.. Employees are very friendly.. Park has less animals here and the animals look tired and spiritless specially the cats.. Hope they bring some new attractions..
Nice little animal park. I'm glad they had golf carts because I'm not getting any younger ????
Rude staff
Great place, amazing animals.
Enjoyed the drive thru today. Enjoyed seeing the animals. Will definitely be back when we can roam around more and get a better view.
We love it there
This is a fantastic family experience and one that you will all want to repeat time and again. The prices are actually very reasonable and the food is great here. Moat of the meal combos are named the animals ????
Great place to visit! What they do as a rescue for wildlife is amazing! Well worth the entrance fee and knowing your money is helping the animals makes it all the better!
Nice place. Keep in mind this is not a zoo, though. Lots of animals and you can get really close by, including bears. Make sure you don't visit when it's chilly or you might not be able to view all the animals
Family, friends & I had a great time. Feel kind of bad for some of the animals being in small areas (ex. Monkeys, Serval cats) but I believe a majority of these animals would not be alive right now if it wasn't for the Wildlife Park taking them in. The pens are not exceptionally large, but are clean.. Bear and Cat show were awesome! Food was good too and everything was reasonably priced. Thank you.
Really love it!
Better than any zoo, cheaper than almost every other attraction out there and totally informative at the same time, I couldn't rate this place any lower than top marks for the work of the staff and the enjoyment on people's faces when they visit, I try to get down there as often as I can. Deserves more than 5 *
it was awesome????????
I had fun I would go here if I was you
looking through the website and just wondering why there is a $5 cost for fishing , a $5 cost for every fish you catch and a limit of 2. sounds again like to much greed. first ive ever heard of this. must every little thing have a price tag. soon camping will be for the wealthy.
It's one of the best places at least on Alberta that I've had the pleasure to visit. I'm telling my friends about it & showing pictures even though I don't take good pictures.
Fun day for kids and adults.
The golf cart that was given to us had very small amounts of battery charge, we had a small child that had to walk back 15 mins because the golf cart wasn't moving much under the hot sun. The staff did apologize and offered a another cart but it was almost closing time so we didn't bother. Overall it was ok.
Spur if the moment trip from Edmonton area. We had a blast! Loved how happy all the animals were. The golf cart rental made life much easier especially with my health slowing us down. My 4yr old LOVED every minute. The little cafeteria even had gluten free nachos and salsa. The gift shop had plenty of great knick knacks. Loved the photos. Not only did we get to pet a beaver but we learned lots about bears and bear safety. I'm only sad we missed the racoons. Next time though ;)
Tons of fun. The have golf cart rentals available to get around the grounds and lots of animals to see and feed.
Such a wonderful place to visit!
What a great place to learn about the wildlife and see some animals. There were a lot of things they no longer did or had though so that was a bit disappointing. A few animals were also missing. It is a lot of walking but there are golf carts for $10 to rent. There is a small food court and a area to but souvenirs.
Such an interesting and well kept park...a great place to take the entire family...staff knowledgeable and very receptive to questions...only problem for me ... travelled great distance to see Bos and Piper and no luck( must have been afternoon siesta ,????)
Lots of green space, room to run and have fun while seeing the animals. Great for a fun day trip.
Lots of green space, room to run and have fun while seeing the animals. Great for a fun day trip.
My kids love going and learning about the animals. We have a yearly pass and take the boys as often as we can.
Loved it
Epic
Best place in the world. Everybody so so kind. Thank your helping. We love so much Bos and Piper.
Very clean and very well maintained. Very knowledgeable and caring staff.
This was an amazing experience on our travels to the mountains. Lots of different animals to see, great for children and adults. You are free to roam at your own pace. If you have loonies, you can pay to dispense pellets to some of the …
I love it here so much!!! And I got to go behind the scenes with the big cats!! Amazing!!!
A nice day out to visit some animals, without the crowds at Calgary Zoo. A very informative bear presentation and a chance to see camels up close and feed made for a fun day for the kids! We rented a golf cart, quite expensive but if you have trouble walking it is handy to have. It was also nice to have a staff member get out some of the smaller animals to let us pet them, a tortoise and a ball python.
Had a great time
Nice place for kids
Awsome place to visit! Wonderful animals, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
$19 per adult is a reasonable rate for this place. We enjoyed ourselves although the show times seemed a little too spread out for us. We saw the Cat Presentation around 1:30pm and the Bear Presentation didn't happen until 3:30pm but we left long before that since we were able to see everything. I would say that the Cat Presentation did make it worth the visit. Like most places, the rest is a hit or miss depending if the animals are awake or not. For the most part, a nice place to stop between cities.
Very nice experience. Perfect to do with children or grandparents
Fell asleep in the car and woke up here, bears are sick! (And by sick I mean awesome not sickly like caillou)
Beautiful rural area. Many animals were able to be seen up close. Fun family experience.
So there is wheelchair parking, a ramp that doesn’t look up to code and a huge concrete step Before you can get to the ramp. The girl said maybe we can use a golf cart and I said how do you suggest we get him into said golf cart as he is paralyzed from the neck down. What a laugh.
Amazing place
No crowds.. and close up look at all the animals
This place has compassionate, fun employees who really care about the animals in their care. Their commitment to the animals is unmistakable. I'd imagine, they too, would rather the animals live in the wild. However, this is not always possible, unfortunately due to human interference, most of the time. The animals seemed happy and contented. I enjoyed unique experiences and plan to go back and experience more. Thanks DWP team!
Too Bad experience. I went for the weekend with friends to the campground. I couldn’t sleep as the train was passing beside at least 4 times during the night too loudly. We need to pay extra $19 to see the animals being there already. We couldn’t take pictures of the bears because we didn’t pay extra for it after the bears show. So, you have to pay for everything separate and it’s not a nice zoo. It’s waste of money. I don’t recommend this place at all.
First time here and had a blast! Fun way to spend a few hours of the day
It was a very good experience
You can get much closer to the animals than a normal zoo. There is a ton of space and you can do other encounters with some of the animals as well that is really cool... Pictures with bears, walks with wolves etc.
Absolutely awesome weekend, camping and a zoo, what more could you ask for!!
Amazing place for the family. Staff was knowledgable and patient with all the kids
Very well kept camp grounds, we enjoyed hearing the animals at night and being to now walk around again and take your time watching the animals is fun and entertaining.
Interesting for the kids, especially the bear show, but I felt it wasn't an ideal setup for the animals as many of them were in smaller pens than ideal. Most of the pens looked essentially like they were just grass with a few rocks, hideouts or branches. All of it was clean and well- kept, just not very stimulating.
Lots of hiking, gentle slopes, and golf carts are available. They have bears, ostriches, camels, llamas, leopards, panthers, lions and a Bengali tiger. They also do shows with the felines and with the bears.
Animals were well cared for. Golf carts were great for my daughter who has muscular issues-she was not fatigued and we recieved a great discount. We loved it.
Wonderful sanctuary for orphaned animals and "surplus" from breeding programs. Nothing flashy but the animals are all well cared for and the staff is knowledgeable and dedicated. Educational shows and once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities. Highly recommended for all animal-lovers!
Camped overnight. Excellent tours. You can get up close with a lot animals after the park closes. Very memorable experiences for sure. Go visit Berkley and all her bear friends.
Very well kept grounds and nice clean enclosures. I also admit I liked the bear show. I would have liked to see some stories on why the animals are there as they say on the Web that most are rescued. As some others mentioned for the price some more elaborate enclosures might be expected. Overall a good experience. Will likely be back again when the kids are older.
What a great visit. The bear show was great. The staff were entertaining and it allowed you to be a bit close to the animals. Great experience.
Nice place. Grounds are well kept and animals seems relaxed and well cared for. Good place to waste a few hours.
Great place
It was a good visit. Was great having the golf cart to use due to my disability. The staff were polite. The other customers not so much. Only recommendation i would make is to have info about the animal and how it came there and age at each enclosure as many people like us dont want to follow the big groups to do the tours and i know these are all rescues but would have liked to know more.rather than just the signs explaining the species. Other than that just very busy which was hard even using the golf cart as we were not allowed it on the grass yet people would never move even though we were driving slow. But would recommend going.
No handicap washroom facilities in main hall area. Only one handicap outhouse on site. Staff not sensitive to disabled patrons. Able body patrons held to a higher level of care. Rules for animal photos not laid out at entrance. If you are wheelchair bound you will not be allowed to take photo with bears. Which is ok but they need to make you aware instead of having you hang around for 3.5 hours.
Such an amazing place.
Great place to bring the family. Lots of space for kids to run around. There is also an option to rent a golf cart if the walking will be too much. Love that all of the animals at this facility are rescues from the wild or from people who tried to keep them as exotic pets and they can't be rehabilitated. Beautiful animals and great educational programs. You can book different tours and/or experiences. We did the bear one and it was amazing. They debunk a lot of myths about bears and teach you what to do if you come across one in the wild.
Very good place to visit. Greater good for poor animals that suffer from people's deeds. I enjoyed everything. Especially stroll with she-wolf Nisa - she's lovable, gentle, delicate beauty. She kissed me n allowed me to rub her belly n pet her a lot) I'd recommend everyone to visit this place. N I hope that somebody will donate full grown trees to this beautiful place - animals will love it)
A great experience with fun facts about animals we all love. Great for families.
A great wildlife park with rescued animals which is nice to support their conservation and education programs. Would've like to have seen more shade not only for the visiting humans but also for the animals.
Great family day out
When we went many of the animals were not there. There IS NO POTTABLE WATER and they sell it at an obscene price. They rent old golf carts to anyone. Almost got hit many times. Not a good time.
It was beautiful there.
What a great experience to have so close to home (Red Deer). Also loved that the animals were so close up! Will definitely go again :)
Staff are awesome
A lot to see and it's A great walk
Five Stars........ Don't mind dumping money here as its goes towards the park
This place was disappointing. Most of the animals were too far away to even see. If you’re wanting to enjoy being outside; in my opinion, going to a regular park …
This place was disappointing. Most of the animals were too far away to even see. If you’re wanting to enjoy being outside; in my opinion, going to a regular park that charge 20.00 would be better. Keep in mind that, the pictures posted were taken by putting my phone through the fence and zooming in.
Pens are very large with places for hiding so can't always see the animals.
Amazing way to spend the day!! They do so much amazing work with animals. They focus on conservation and animal rescue so it's not a flashy place, but an awesome place to learn about bear safety.
We enjoyed this place as we also camped here on our travels. Onsite there is a small fishing lake which you can fish off the dock. I would highly suggest the wolf walk, or other small group tours they offer.
Doug and his team have put together a spectacular arrangement of animals, and given you an opportunity to camp in a zoo! All of the animals here have either been rescued from the wild where they would not have survived without human intervention, or they were confiscated from people as illegal pets. All are being trained for work in movies and TV shows. The campground is brand new and very nice, the spots are large and power is available. But remember to bring enough water for your stay, as they do not have access to fresh water at your site. If you are camping, remember that you can do behind the scene tours of the zoo, with very close access to all of the animals. You can walk with the wolves, feed raccoons, and pet a tiger! My family will be back this summer, and for years to come!
Amazing! The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, everything is very conversation-oriented. The animals are obviously very well cared for. And if you buy the right package you can meet a wolf and get your photo taken with bears and a beaver!!
TODAY ITS MY FIRST TOUR TO WENT TO DISCOVERY WILDLIFE PARK AND I LIKE IT ALOT ... I SEE ALOT ANIMALS... HMMM I LIKE IT VERY MUCH I WANA GO AGAIN IN THIS PARK .. PLEASE BUT IM IN CANADA CALGARY ALBERTA NOW NOT IN INNISFAILS....
Lovely experience. Able to get close to the animals, and they all seem so happy. Wonderful staff!
Great experience. Drive thru zoo idea is fantastic.
Great zoo. You can take a picture with the bear. We lost a few cousins that way. But dang it we had fun!
Their campground is nice. The cleanest campground washroom that I've seen so far. Campground staff/host is nice and accomodating.????????????
The discovery wildlife park is a great place for children and adults to see and learn about bears, lions and many other animals. They offer individual animal experiences that should be booked in advance but are also on the pricier side. Overall good experience with very knowledgeable staff. Pictures with the animals are a must! If you want a great experience take the adventure package with the cats and walk with the wolves...worth every penny!
The best zoo ever. They are friendly and the zoo keepers are always around to answer any question no matter what it is
Great place. Love the big cages they had for the animals. Definitely coming back
Well maintained, right size (not too big).
Great place to wildlife. Also very gentil staff
My wife and I have been here before and we loved it so much that once we had kids we knew we had to take them there too. Kids loved it. We will be back again when they are older. We had a family picture with the bears. So cool.
Don't waste your time here is you require an accessibility. There are no handicapped parking spaces. They do not reserve any golf carts for the purpose of accessibility. The grass and dirt are not friendly to a push wheelchair nor to a person with diminished ambulatory ability. We had to wait while priority for a golf cart was given to fully capable adults despite their website stated policy. After addressing the issue directly with them I have received zero response to boot further enforcing to me their lack of knowledge on what accessibility is. Otherwise I was saddened to see deer, bears, jaguars and wolves in identical enclosures with no shade and little to be seen for enrichment. A few enclosures were labeled wrong with most information just being about the species not the individual animal.
I would like to see better enclosures for the animals. More information on the animals.
Great place to see some animals in central Alberta. Go early so you can see all the shows and for the real adventurer check out their packages you can get up close with the animals.
A huge place, but the actual animal enclosures were tiny, and generally completely devoid of trees, shade, and enrichment. If I were an animal here, I'd probably lose my mind. If you love animals, don't come here!
We love coming here every year to see the animals, great getaway for an afternoon with the kids. All the animals are well cared for and there is a lot of information about the preservation of each species.
We absolutly Loved that place!???? Will be returning every year! A Week-End Camping maybe this Year?? Thank You All!
BRING LOONIES to feed the animals. Good viewing area’s. Lots of playground equipment. Cannot go in the snake area’s atm. But a great time over all.
Bird was a crow ! Can see them in our yard many animals not out or not there not worth the. Money drive to Calgary zoo
Not alot of exotic animals but a cool way to kill some time if driving through
Great place to get up close and learn
This place is a joke lol, camp ground is even worse. I came only bc I have family that booked it and I tried to warn them how bad it was.
My family and I have come every year to visit for the past 3 years. Well laid out, spacious, not crowded at all. Although the selection of animals is not 'zoo level' in its variety, it's important to keep in mind that every animal displayed has been rescued in some form or other. There is an incredible bond between all of the keepers and the animals, and the bear/lion/tiger shows are well worth the wait. Highly recommended, and it supports a local business!! 5 enthusiastic stars, well deserved! My only complaint for this last visit was the now limited selection of food at the cafeteria. I was looking forward to a deep fried corn dog all the way from Edmonton, just to be sadly disappointed in the extremely limited menu due to staffing issues in the kitchen (thanks covid). Choices are now a hot dog or smokie, no more fries or onion rings. In fact, there is nothing deep fried offered anymore at all because the zoo keepers are filling in the vacancies for the cooks. It won't stop us from visting next year. We'll just pack some extra snacks, problem solved. But be warned about the limited food selection, and don't make the mistake I did and come on an empty stomach. Also, the wolf walk is highly reccomended if you like wolves. My daughter and I had an absolute blast on the tour, and I want to personally extend my gratitude to the keepers who accompanied us on the walk. They were amazing, well informed, and made us feel secure during the entire tour. It was super fantastic!!!!
Exceptionally large pens for the well looked after animals. Great access to them with no crowds (compared to the city). Very reasonably priced gift shop. Thoroughly enjoyable day !
Amazing! With the different animal shows you can get really close to the animals and you learn so much about animals that you thought you already knew about. I recommend this place to everyone who is coming to this area.
Really great family park. Kids loved it. Will be a frequent stop.
Whould not reccomend if going to see many animals. Good if just want a picture with bear
A beautiful sanctuary. If you have the time. Its worth stopping in for sure
Pleasant surprise! This is not a zoo. It is a home and rehab facility for orphaned and abandoned animals. The handlers / zookeepers are passionate about conservation and education and the animals are treated with great care and respect. A wonderful educational experience for myself and my daughter's. 100% will return.
As always, a wonderful time, with beautiful, happy animals!! We love you toodles!!!
Good zoo if you don't want to trek to Calgary. Very spread out. Lots of bears to see and some exotic animals. Good process are reasonable.
It’s good here they keep their animals well fed and guests happy it’s one of my best days going here!
Small place ,but good numbers of animal
Great place to see some animals in central Alberta. Go early so you can see all the shows and for the real adventurer check out their packages you can get up close with the animals.
Great place for family bonding, fishing and interact with a few wild animals, everything has monetary value either for rent or you buy, but that's the only way we can help them maintain the zoo. We had a wonderful time all in all, the staff and people who work there are friendly and accommodating.
Nice staff....we had a awsome time my kids loved the bear...only thing he was sleeping....
Cool park to check out. The bear and lion presentations were pretty entertaining.
Always fun to visit this zoo
Really a 2.5. 1/3 of the enclosures are empty and had bad luck seeing animals for the morning but the bear presentation was excellent and saw a few more animals in the afternoon. Not for the animal activist in the crowd as enclosures are just fenced cages without much interesting in them. That said we spent 4 hours there.
Amazing experience, the staff were all very helpful and informative, the animals all were very aware of our presence and all looked content and safe in their environment, I look forward to visiting again very soon!
Beautiful well taken care of and accommodated animals and close range for amazing photos. Not a long walk. Option to drive a golf cart available. Outdoor attraction with different shows through the day.
Liked it ... Fun to just walk around :)
Nice place , great for the family, Berkley is a must see ( young koiak bear ) cool tortoise to, very friendly staff
Perfect place to enjoy a family day.
Have yet to see the whole zoo but had a table at Zoo days and it seemed like a pretty great place to spend a day. Ill be returning with my kids in the future as visitors for sure
Had alot of fun with the bears. Cool place. A must go.
An amazing little gem off the highway in Innisfail. A bear conservatory, they also have many other animals that have all been rehabilitated and it's a very well put together park. My daughter loves going to see the animals and the shows they put on. They also have camping for those that want to make a weekend out of it. I recommend it for anything that wants a more low-key zoo experience.
While the park and it's enclosures may at first look sad for the animals, getting to know the staff and understanding the challenges their animals faced helps us to understand why parks like this exist in the first place. Discovery takes in orphaned animals and animals that would otherwise have not lived very long and gives them a life as "ambassador" animals to work towards educating people about their negative impacts on wildlife habitat and understand the dangers we pose to these animals. Go and see it for yourself, take part in the presentations, learn that those animals are there due to human activity in the wilderness. I wanted to only give a 3-star rating because I don't like these wild animals being kept in captivity and I wish their enclosures were larger. Ultimately they provide a good foundation of education and safety for the animals and I was impressed with their efforts.
The service is rude. Inside there is a bear "show", which is not a show but a tourists trap to make you pay an extra $25. Don't fall for it, you will waste a valuable time in an extremely painful zoology lesson, and your kids will be very sad because they will try to get closer to the bears, but the rude staff will not let them to force you pay the extra $25 at the end of the "show"
Very interesting rescue center. Really nice to know the proceeds go to help abandoned/injured animals. It is a large unshaded area so make sure you’re ready for some walking and bring your sunscreen.
Awesome place, the bears are amazing ????
Had a great time :)) Beautiful park like setting, quite a mix of animals. The fact that they are rescue animals gave me great pleasure to support this facility. We had our picture taken with two of the bears. Yes you have to pay for these things but that is how they keep it going. We also purchased some carved antler horn pendants which will help build their monkey exhibit. If you are looking for a large zoo experience this is not a place for you. That being said, the bear and lion show were fun and informative. There is also a wolf walk which we arrived to late for :(. Some animals like camel, ostrich and deer came right up to fence and you could pat them. Bring change as they have feeding bin stations for the animals. If you want to support a truly wonderful cause and have some fun!!! I believe everyone should go their. I know they can count on donations from my family.
Excellent place, very friendly staff, well looked after animals, clean camp grounds. Will definitely come back soon. The trainers are just too good!!
It's a smaller venue with interesting exhibits. Fantastic staff who really care about the animals that live there.
Amazing staff, animals and clealiness
Wonderful time.
Had a great time checking out the park and various animals.
Always an enjoyable visit for the whole family. Wish they could expand and have more animals. Staff are friendly as are the animals. We always have to see the lions and bears!
Very good place to camp with kids and watch and visit animals.
We couldn't have asked for a better day! I can't wait to go back. The whole experience was amazing - see the animals, all of the shows, the education, the pictures with the bears and beaver, and to end it all of the walk with the lion. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, which made it even better. You can tell the animals are well taken care of - the bond between them and their trainers is just amazing. Thank you Discovery Wildlife Park!
Prior to heading out to the park...I read some reviews. To all those who have a negative review. Are you sure you went to the right place? My experience yesterday was an absolute awesome one. The staff were friendly funny and inviting... Specially Jacob. The animals are loved and now have a safe place to be. All these animals would probably not be alive if not for the Discovery Wildlife Park. So... For those quick to criticize... Please understand why and how this place functions. If some of the animals are unavailable....there is reason. I truly enjoyed my experience....highly recommend it...and I do plan on going back... Many times. Thanks to all of you out there that put your hard work and passion into it so we can enjoy it.
It's an amazing place for the whole family. It's very clean. The animals are well cared for. And you learn something new every time you go. I've had my picture taken with many of the bears. I've gone on their bear experience, which was incredible. Most recently my son enjoyed a walk with a wolf. ????????
My friend paid ticket to take photos with black bears and I stood outside the fence to take some photos for them. Surprisingly the staffs shouted at me saying you are so rude. It’s bloody ridiculous you shouting at me without any signs saying don’t take photos outside the fence or remind me kindly first. Instead, just shouting at me. Staff here is so kind. Did you pay bears salary?
My little girl loves this park.
Awesome place to visit.
Our family visits Discovery Wildlife Park about once a year. There is a good variety of animals native to Canada as well as what you could consider exotic (jaguars, tortoise for example). The shows that are put on by the staff are definitely meant to be wholly educational about the animals themselves and focus on the importance of conservation. There is a fair amount of explanation on why training the animals is actually important for their quality of life, along with some great stories about the animals themselves. We were able to see multiple animals up close, including a very tame baby skunk as well as their tortoise. We also watched the jaguar show and the bear show. The bear show is an absolute must, as it showcases skills as well as being entertaining. Many people have commented that the lack of the "movie" bears eliminates the draw, but I disagree. It's still highly entertaining, especially with Honey Pot's yoga routine. My only complaints honestly are the price of admission and the parking. For our family of 4 it was just under $50 for us to visit the park. We are members of the Calgary Zoo and the cost of one visit to DWP is about equivalent to one of our passes for that zoo (for as many visits we want in a year). One saving grace is that you are able to bring in your own food. The parking just simply needs to be better arranged - the large grassed lot doesn't have stalls and given that most visitors are families it's a bit disorganized. Recommend better marking of stalls to make more efficient use of the space.

Loved it....the night encounters are amazing! Will be going back!
I love it they are so cute and the staff is really nice
Visited with 3 yr child and it was a great time. Almost all animals were not camera shy, active and engaging (approached to spectators). Area is Not too big, walking through the entire place took about an hour+. Priced fairly. Friendly staffs with optional tours (but not ready to walk the cub/wolf yet). Its is worth 15 min drive from the Reddeer. Will return next year for sure.
Will definitely return. Great place to take the family.
Amazing set up, neat variety of animals. I was impressed
Rented golf cart. Had great time with friends
Loved our visit, but most animals were sleeping. Captured my favorite photo of all holidays. ???? Kellywhiddenphotography.mypixieset.com
Informative and fun!! We stayed in the campground and had a lovely time!
Amazing staff, animals and clealiness
Some animals clearly needed more space. Never have I seen such depressed monkeys. Shows were informative and we got to get closer up to animals that we probably never would have in any zoo. Reasonably priced unless you have a big family but they really do try to up sell you for every little thing
A wonderful Wildlife Sanctuary animals are very well taken care of. The education I came home with was awesome especially when a few days later I came across a bear. Thank you for sharing your wonderful park with us
You should go here if you like animals. There is a good variety of well treated animals here. Some are rescues. Supporting this establishment will help the animals and help the staff to tend to the animals. **Don't go on a hot sunny day, go on a day where the sun is hiding otherwise you will miss seeing many animals as they will be hiding from the sun**
Campground facilities were mediocre. No firepits. Gates are locked at night with no emergency numbers posted. A young lady had a medical emergency and was seriously delayed waiting for owner to open the gate. Unlikely to be successful unless changes are made. We won't be returning.
Orphaned animals find loving place/home. I recommend the bear and also the lion show. The only draw back during my visit was the line up for the women's washroom (one stall) and the line up for the admission/photo/ golf cart (long weekend crowd and poor floor layout).
Excellent place very neat ,clean and awesome staff
Amazing, stunning, clean and affordable. Staff was great at answering any questions my 9 year old had. Very friendly and accommodating when the skies opened up with a thunderstorm for 45 minutes. The experience packages are well worth adding on to your visit as well.
Amazing experience with spectacular animals! Loved every minute ????❤
Very nice and informative. Lots of walking. Fun variety of animals. Bring cash and change.
Limited animals but the place was clean. The staff were also friendly. Good for a 1 time visit. Perfect for kids too.
Great spot!
Nice place to visit. Not much animals but lots bears...
The price is a bit high, but I am sure it costs a lot for upkeep.
Great place! Friendly and informative staff. Will go back again!
This place is great. The staff are wonderful and their set up with golf carts for those who can't walk far.
Very unprofessional, Can't handle situations, I wouldn't suggest going here, Complete waste of time and money.
The only thing I would like to see in this park is more areas to find shade.
At times, this place can be better than the Calgary Zoo.
We went on Monday, It was a wonderful experience to walk around and see the animals. The staff s very friendly and helpful. Also they have golf carts. As it is well spaced out. The lady went out her way to let my 3 year old granddaughter pet the small snake as she likes snakes. Also the baby guinea pig. Worth a visit and a drive. Check it out folks.????
Lots of fun for kids. Our kids liked the bear show, and we appreciate that they incorporated bear aware education to the show.
Great to engage with staff that are as invested in Wildlife preservation and education!
Barely any visible wild life, really over priced to walk around a field and look at a caged bear and lion
The playground is AMAZING! the usage of old lawn mowers is smart and fun. The zookeepers and campground personnel are fantastic and helpful. One of the best campgrounds for families in Alberta. The enclosures are large and the animals are obviously happy to be here and how close you can get to the animals (like toodles the tortoise) is beyond belief. I highly recommend getting kisses from Nissa
Good for tourists. I wish the animals were a little more active, but it was fun to rent a golf cart with the family.
This place is not really big as you would expect. The place is well kept and lots of space for animals habitat. We just visited yesterday and my 3 1/2 years old son loves every animals he saw. Fair pricing specially when we book for overnight camping. We paid $35 for a night with Free Zoo drive through. The only unpleasant experienced we had is the lack of sleep due to the sound of the train. I will not recommend this place for any campers who are sensitive to noise. The train keep passing by during the night. Having said that, the washroom is clean and well maintained. Friendly staff.
Super cool definitely recamend
It was an amazing place, animals all looked healthy and happy, one bear was even playing in a pond enjoying the sun, they had food and drinks for customers and also an amazing looking campground, way cheaper than the Calgary Zoo actually everything was better than the Calgary Zoo , I highly recommend this place for everyone!
Love it
We loved it. It's nice to be able to observe the animals so closely and they all seem content and very well taken care of. Baby Kodiak bear was the highlight and my son loved the lions and reptile room. I much prefer the open free range style vs the concrete jungle setting of most zoos. Staff was friendly and a great value for the cost of tickets :) we'll be back!
Fantastic place to visit. Great camping facilities available.
Must see, awesome staff, love the animals. Top notch
Very nice and informative. Lots of walking. Fun variety of animals. Bring cash and change.
Amazing place to enjoy with the family
Lots of interesting and exotic animals. Wide open spaces and lots to see. The bear show was awesome and extremely informative.
Great place for the family. Highly recommend the after hours tours. Pricy for the tours but worth it.
Great facility!
Wide variety of animals, all well fed and looked after. Safe environment with electric fence. Golf carts available for transportation. Daily shows with animals. Excellent friendly staff.
Nice place to take the family. great food and gift shop. Golf cart rentals are an added bonus.
Great place for family. I love this place.
This place is not a zoo but a safe haven for rescue animals, that being said. The place is amazing. The bear, wolf, and lion shows were good. They have many play structures for kids and many places around for you to sit and enjoy or have a picnic. I would recommend their log cabin. The 4 to 6 people cabin had a queen bed at the bottom and the loft had about 4 single beds put together to make it comfortable for kids to sleep on. I do recommend getting a sheet to put on the bed and blanket and pillows for you to sleep on, and there is a heater and fridge provided and I would recommend getting their fire pit and some chairs to stay warm around the ????at night. There is a picnic table in front of your cabin and ample space for you to tent if you want to. The washrooms in this facility are clean and well looked after. Best part about the camping ground is that you get to see and hear some of the wild animals up close. The owners are absolutely sweet and very hard working and humble people and the couple Shirley and her husband that takes care of the camp ground are very helpful and have a great sense of humor.
We had our family reunion July 6 & 7 2018. Up to 75 people attended on the Sat. The Discovery gang treated us very well. We took up 13 camping sites and they made sure we were all together. They catered us our Sat. Night meal of beef on a bun and coleslaw. There was plenty of food and our group loved it. The price was very reasonanle. The bathroom and shower facility is spotless. The park overall is very tidy and we'll manicured. The animals are well taken care of as well. There is power hook ups but not water. They will supply the water for a $10.00 fee. We would definitely use this location again. Marie
Good for money
I really love this wildlife park and all the educational activities and play structures. There's actually quite a bit to do and see and they also are very accessible for those with limited mobility (they do charge extra for the use of their golf carts though, even if you do have mobility problems)

Our family had a great time going to Discovery Wildlife Park. Thank you to the staff for making it so memorable. My son loved the Bear show and I must say it was worth the trip. We were able to enjoy and learn about bears. It is truly amazing how this people work so hard to put together everything so that we can have fun. I liked that the animals were looked after so nicely and are loved by their trainers. My day spent with the family was wonderful and I will come back here gain.
A hidden gem of Innisfail; just of highway 2 near Red Deer. Convenient location complete with a campground. We were able to get upclose and personal with many animals. The presentations were informative and entertaining. Also all of thr animals featured are rescues. My families favorite part had to be the behind the scenes cat tour, worth every penny! My family and I will be back for sure!
Way more than we expected ! Very positive experience. Teaching us, and care for the animals, and entertaining. Well done.
The animals seemed much happier in their large enclosures then what you see at the edmonton zoo. Informative people everywhere. Really enjoyed the day and will definately be back!!
Cats and dogs and bears, as wonderful as they are to see, sometimes are a little tired and not much fun when they are sleeping. Allow yourself a lot of time so you can catch them when they are lively
Excellent place for the kids. Lots of open space for picnics
Pretty neat little park the show with the bears is educational
Wish there was a 0 star to be able to express how my family was treated here !
Yesterday was a great day out with the family. My 4 year old schooled me in the bouncy castle obstacle course. My son got a weighted sloth teddy bear that's a surprisingly good hugger, going to be borrowing it a lot. My daughter got a rainbow tiger face paint for free and we got to go around checking out the animals. Spent a lot of hours there and tired out the kids for a no fuss bedtime. After which I burrowed the sloth.
Spending great time close to very beautiful wildlife!!!
Spending great time close to very beautiful wildlife!!!
Great ppl and a must visit if in area.
Honestly way better than I expected. I didn't have super high expectations but I was glad to see them surpassed! People weren't very good at social distancing which kind of drove me crazy but I can't fault the park for that as they told everyone numerous times to follow health regulations. The animals have large enclosures (arguably larger than the Calgary Zoo in a lot of cases) and you're able to get rather close to the animals which is super cool! Would definitely go back!
Come for the whole day with young kids for all day fun. Staffs are friendly.
Incredible place. Very well maintained. Will certainly go back there.
You can see animals there that I don't see on our continent
This is the best zoo I ever been.
3rd visit hear over the years and doesn't disappoint. Bear show is awesome.
Always a good place to visit. My visitor from Florida was very happy with her bear encounter.
Fantastic place. We will go again it's good it u have younger and older kids. You can rent a golf course to drive around it for $15 /hr. My little ones enjoyed the animals my oldest liked the cart. Theres a gift shop snacks great presentations from fantastic trainers. Lots of open space to walk and socially distance. Nice pla e would definitely again .
It was very interesting to hear the trainer talk about the bears, their habits, and what the park does with them. Fun and educational at the same time.
Wonderful experience for us and our grandchildren. The Zoo keepers did a great job and the animals are very well cared for.
Came up from Calgary a few weeks back, and really enjoyed it! We plan on coming back again.
One of the only places to get up close and personal with big predators like bears.
Wow must visit place.
Very nice park, easy to walk, with a great selection of animals that you can actually get very close to!! A+
Great place to spend the day and see animals
Camp ground and park was fun, but if we had known the train tracks were 20 feet away and the trains run allll night we would have stayed elsewhere.
My 5 year old really enjoyed learning about the tigers and lions on our tour. The campground was clean, well maintained and some lovely people manage it. Beware that it is right beside the railroad tracks and can get a little “exciting” in the middle of the night.
Love the animals
I take my kids there at least 3 times a year.
Great relaxing environment. Get to see animals such a bears, wolfs, lions up close. Very clean washrooms
My family and I loved the Park.
Very cool place, once in a lifetime experience!
This was nothing but a guilt ridden experience. They have various types of animals yet they all have the same type of enclosure, no shade and limited shelter. They have pack animals separated and isolated which causes them to pace, bears trying to dig their way out (for good reason). The wolf enclosure is no bigger than your average backyard you would provide your family dog. It's over priced and you leave their with nothing but a empty pit feeling in your stomach. This is not a gem on the side of a highway providing animals a good life. There is no personal information about how they got there and if they were rescued. You only hope they weren't just picked out of the wild and shoved in an electric fenced small enclosure. Please don't contribute to their profits, don't go and eventually someone will come around and close this hell for good.
Really lovely day out
Excellent presentation of the animals! Staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back again
Do not visit. Just another roadside zoo which in most people's opinion should never be allowed, by law, in Canada or anywhere for that matter
This place is a lot of fun. Its' very sprawling with lots of animals to see, and renting a golf cart to get around was pretty fun too. We caught the bear show and the tiger show, and both were pretty good; the bear show in particular was interesting and the bears were so cute! You can get photos taken with some of the animals, which is awesome. They sell pawprint paintings by the animals at the park in the gift shop, too.
Was disappointed with the Park. To me, enclosures are small. Seems to be more of a zoo than a wildlife park. Kids will love it. This guy didn't.
Good food
Waste of time and money. You get to see few bears cats and deers in 19$ bucks.
Honestly, we were very disappointed with our experience at Discovery Wildlife Park. Their website gives you the idea that you will actually get to have physical contact with the animals. Well this is not true. You can't touch or even hand-feed ANY of the animals, except maybe the camels and they weren't near the fence. The only opportunity you are given to interact with an animal is if you take a photo with a bear and they charge you $25 for ONE 4x6 photo.... The prices at the gift shop are outrageous and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. One other thing that REALLY bothered me is that some of the enclosures for the animals are extremely small with very little shade. I couldn't believe my eyes. Some of the animals have hardly any space to roam... it broke my heart! It was nice to see some of the animals but we definitely won't return.
Lots to see, the shows are pretty great!
They got most of the wild animals. Love the lion show and the golfcart. There's an option for camping as well.
Awesome place to visit...good variety if animals to see. clean and well kept Owners are very nice and friendly looking forward to are next visit
The kids love it!
Staff and owner are friendly. Campsites are in the middle of a zoo with wolves and bears around. VERY CLEAN bathrooms. 1 loonie for 2 minutes shower. Only downside is there are very little mature trees but hey, its in the middle of the prairies !! Special prices if you camp and visit the zoo.. All animals are rescued and abandonned wildlife .. I would recommend it!!
Enjoyed our visit! Great day trip. A little pricy for a family of 7.
It wa nice. Would love to go bavk to do the walk with yhe wolves.
It's like an extremely relaxed zoo, you don't feel overwhelmed by crowds because it's wide open.
Amazing place to enjoy with the family
Bear show fantastic....
Took the family here today and i can say it was alot of fun for the kids and adults alike.
Really enjoyed the wolf presentation. Great place to take the kids for a few hours.
This is such a nice environment to get to know some amazing animals, you can tell the animals come first here and they all seem very happy! 100% will be back and would recommend!
My family and I have been going to discovery wildlife at least once a year for the last maybe 7 years and we absolutely love it there. It's decently priced to get in and your up close and personal with the animals, the kids can run around as they have a ton of space and it's not do crowded like the zoo's. And I really live taking pictures with the bears soooooo cool lol . If it's hot enough outside you can walk with Toodles the desert tortoise ????
Excellent
Awesome to visit!
This place is amazing. It is really a place to bring the family. You get to camp right beside the wildlife. Grounds are immaculate, the staff is extremely informative and pleasant. Prices are fantastic definitely a place to bring your family and friends to make some memories!!!
Friendly staff
Grandkids loved it, we were backed onto ostrich and llamas in closures
Fantastic day trip from Edmonton or Calgary. You get to see Lion, Tigers, Jaguars, camels, bears and more extremely up close! We’ve done so many big zoos and this felt like the most intimate encounter.
We had a great visit. Really enjoyed the wolf lion and bear presentations. The staff are friendly knowledgeable and engaging. The campground is clean and the play areas are fun for the kids .
Great place but needs more space for the cats
I love the bear presentation.
Amazing! There is so much to see and the staff are very approachable and knowledgeable! I reccomend seeing the Bear show @ 1pm and bringing a picnic :)

Great lectures and animal interaction available. Also love you can get great photos with the animals without the chain link fence in the way but still be safe
My family attended Zoofest this morning & we all couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. All the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly, zoo grounds were super clean & enclosures were well maintained. All the Animals seemed more than comfortable & well taken care of. Free pancake breakfast, bouncy houses, skydivers & face painters were simply fantastic! Thank you for such a wonderful community event! It’s very much appreciated!
Very cool place! The people are genuinely welcoming, the animals are very well cared for.
Very peaceful
Best park in Alberta
great place to spend a day.
Wonderful family days
I don't get easily impressed, but the level of rudeness of the stuff exceeded all the expectations. I don't know if these people hate their job this much or just naturally this unhappy, but either way, you can't pay me enough to ever deal with them again.
Wonderful family outing.
It was a lot of fun
Who drives a bear to get Ice cream and thinks it's okay
Spacious enclosures for animals, staff are awesome, golf carts to get around for the older couples. Animal shows I can go on and on
Loved this place! Stopped here on the drive from edmonton to calgary and we were so glad we did We get right up close to the animals and learn loads about them. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable
Very well managed place, so clean.
This is a nice place. The presentations are worth it. Would love to see an adults day/night with presentations.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough. They really look after the animals, it's great to see!
awsome lots of bears
it's great park to see wildlife but one i thing i notice one of the bear seems depressed!!
One of the most beautiful experiences! The compound is large and it is clear that the animals here are very well taken care of. Very informative and friendly staff and the bear talk is a sight to see!
No respect
Hot day, animals all seemed to be looking for shade. Very few trees or shade available for animals or people. There weren't any signs to indicate where the animals had come from and how they were rescued, which was the main attraction for us going. The bear enclosure stated that they lived in forests, yet there wasn't even one tree in their pen. Sad. Would not recommend. I felt guilty being there. The only nice thing was seeing the young zookeeper taking the large tortoise out for a daily strole to stretch it's legs.
Great place to spend with the kids
Love this place. Neat zoo great staff
awesome place zoo and campground! good for the whole family, quiet and relaxing campground, friendly and knowledgeble staff...will definitely come back!
It's okay. Expensive for what you get to see there. Lions and tigers and bears oh my.
Drove 2 hours with my homeschooled child for the bear presentation and they cancelled it, citing the Covid restrictions and that people weren’t social distancing “enough.” Staff didn’t make any effort to direct anyone to move or space out and the majority had 10 + feet spacing between groups. Staff stayed behind the gate and just decided it wasn’t enough and cancelled the show with zero effort to help the crowd meet their requirements. (They didn’t bother to walk through the crowd to check spacing, just decided from a distance that it wasn’t good enough.) My 6 year old, who had been extremely excited to see the bears left very disappointed and we learned nothing. Many of the animals looked extremely distressed as well in small enclosures. The grounds were very well maintained and beautiful, it’s too bad that they decided to take advantage of the multiple homeschool families (there were at least three homeschool groups from across the province in attendance) and not provide the advertised education and entertainment. I will not go back.
Very clean, very nice staff!!! Kids loved it! What more can you say.
Excellent
Very nice Park to visit. The Bear show and walking with the Wolf was great.
Amazing place and amazing staff
Wonderful little zoo. They take in animals that need to be rehabilitated and can't be reintigrated back into the wild. You can tell they really care about the animals here. They have little educational tours about the animals as well as close encounters you can pay for.
Great value very enjoyable well spaced out
I was very disappointed and not Discovery Park for what when you fold them and do what their website says it is nothing like they say I would never go again and I definitely would not recommend it to my friends
Update 2021: We went back after not visiting for 4 years to see if things are better. Some of the animals looked a bit healthier but still the park seems to be doing just bare minimum. Three skinny wolves pacing in a rather limited enclosure, for example, rather than a pack of them running carefree as they used to. The number of bears seem fewer than before, and most animals there didn't seem too happy. A lot of the charm that was once there is still missing. Even encountered a rude employee yelling at the customers. The employees in general didn't look too happy but rather tired. I got the impression they are there mainly to collect checks rather than because they had a mission to preserve and care for animals. The presentations were fewer, shorter and some rather dull. Review 4 years ago: We have been coming almost every year but a lot of the animals are not there anymore and the bears that did interesting tricks, starred in movies, etc also have left (apparently to Ontario with the trainer Ruth).... Most of the few animals that are still there just laid there doing nothing. Maybe it's the heat of the day but i don't remember feeling disappointed before. The tiger "show" consisted of a tiger eating. The bear presentation was still interesting it was still not like it used to be. I asked a staff what happened to all the animals that used to be there and I was told "you know, animals can't live forever". I don't think that many animals would have died of old ages in a year, and I wonder if they culled them. I liked the fact the place was started to give rescue animals a large space to have a good life, but for some reason the management (perhaps new owners) seem to have a different philosophy now. There are only bare bone number of animals left. It used to be so beautiful to see a pack of wolves running around, a herd of ostriches, countless deer, etc, as if seeing them in the nature, but this time, we only saw one skinny tired sad looking lone wolf, one monkey not even interested in picking up nuts we threw in, two ostriches, two squirrels, one deer, etc. There used to be so many.... I understand you can't save all the animals and it costs money to feed them but it lost a lot of its magic. It was embarrassing to bring out-of-town guests as I had highly spoken of this place.
Love Discovery Wildlife Park so much. Our family bought season passes this year and we've already been 3 times. The baby bears are adorable! The staff is so great. Always happy to answer questions and they are great with the animals. They've been handling all the covid restrictions well, as difficult as its been! Can't wait to go many more times!!
Fantastic. The zookeepers were great, very informative, and informative. Kids loved it. Camping was good as well. Could watch the deer, along with other animals.
Great place to take the family. The animals seem happy and well taken care of. Clean facility and welcoming staff. The presentations are awesome, and we really loved that they were geared towards safety and conservation.
We had an absolutely amazing time. Celebrated father in laws 85th birthday, and learned a to about the animals they care for. Love how well the animals are treated. Oh and for any haters out there these animals are all rescued because of human interaction....... without these guys, they would likely not be alive
Love it
Awesome place.
This place is much bigger and better than I expected. Very large and wide open with grounds that are well cared for. The animals seems very happy, with the keepers spending lots of time entertaining them as well as guests. I would like to see a playground for the kids, maybe I missed that, but it would definitely add to the place. Will visit again.
We love the Lion show and enjoy the Golf carts. There's an option for campers as well. The washrooms are well maintained.
Beautiful animals.. Loved it. . you can rent a gocart and drive around.. So much fun
Nice place to go with toddler's. Not so big as to lose their attention
This place was great. Very well taken care of. Animals look cared for. The people doing the presentation was very funny and knowledgeable.
Always an amazing place to visit
Great information with very knowledgeable and helpful staff
Amazing place, the animals are treated so well...the trainers have fun with them. Beautiful adventure.
Pretty cool
Great place to visit.
This place is so amazing! The staff are wonderful. I had such a great time here. I recommend everyone to visit here! I absolutely loved everything here!
Always a fantastic place to go. They are trying real hard to keep with Covid policy..it would be better if the guests could help them out and comply as well.
It was a great learning experience. Must for children/ adults to learn bear safety. Great job done by the animal trainers and keepers.
Great experience
What a great opportunity to interact with and learn about animals and conservation. The team that works here are super knowledgeable and available to answer questions. 10/10 will go back
The campground is clean, well managed and a great spot for families.
Great place!
Our grandkids 2 + 4 loved it, great to have the rental golf carts because the facility is quite large.
I will not recommend this place staff are rude they always mad and shouted at us ????they can say there concern and a nice way. My son saw when he shouted at me and got scared. Im talking about the lady in the registration in the campground and the man who wear eye glasses. We will not coming back to this place and we will not recommend it.
Awesome!
I hvebt been since 2019 and I was pleasantly suprised at how much it had changed. Loved it more than ever, if you haven't been here it is an affordable day out for the whole family!
Great place to visit staff friendly and enjoyable to listen to..
Great place to visit staff friendly and enjoyable to listen to..
They have a great picnic area but could use a park or a petting zoo or something else . (I understand they probably have restrictions).
Expensive. Not much to see. The wolf show was cool but we wont go back.
Great place!!!
Beautiful park
Love this place. We used to go nearly every Sunday after the kids nap. But have only been once so far this year. We get the golf cart to drive around in because my hips aren't great so this is awesome for me to still take the kids. Make sure to take a few loonies to feed the animals treats.
Lots of trains all night long very frustrating but the rest of the park was fantastic just bring earplugs
Such a great experience. The animals are lovely and well cared for, and the staff are helpful and wonderful to deal with .
Saw lots of animals. Big park. Have shows with some of the animals.
Cool animals and a clean environment.
Cool animals and a clean environment.
Great place
Definitely worth the trip. A big thanks to these people who work so hard to care for the animals other people didn't. Clean areas for the animals , they look well cared for and it was great being able to see them up close. Prices for entry , food and souvenirs are very reasonable. Hope to come back someday and support this amazing place. Thank you!!
These people pretend to be nice and then .... bam! What happened! We came in late, not knowing where to go to camp. We told them that now that we knew where we would spend the night, we needed to go and fill the trailer with water. We were told that when we were set up and ready, they would fill us up off the truck (there was a large tank on the back). We got set up and I went to find the man (It was almost 9:30pm by this time and our grandson needed to get ready for bed) I was told he would be there as soon as he had finished his supper. He came and complained about us disturbing him and then insulted us and while filling our trailer, told us that he was going to "teach you a lesson" for not traveling with a trailer full of water and he charged us $10! Wasn't impressed with the 'zoo' either. Just a hole built into the ground for shelters and one or two animals with nothing else in a cage. I was under the impression that they were old movie/television stars and pets that people discarded that they rescued. Huh! Some rescue if that is true. And if that is the case, why do so many people have white tailed deer and mule deer and elk. (Never heard of that before) Needless to say, we will never go back. CUSTOMER SERVICE means SO Much. They have a lot to learn (I shake my head)
Very cool
I don't usually like to see wildlife caged, but this place is awesome. Huge area's for them to roam. Being able to rent a golf cart is a bonus, it is a long walk. Very happy I visited . Staff is very helpful. Thank you for a great visit.

Nice place for kids to see couple of animals. The drive-through initiative is remarkable and commendable especially in this strange time in the world.friendly staff.good job guys!
Loved the bear show, man they are sweet!
We love going here. It's such a worthwhile cause and feels much friendlier than a zoo experience. Highly recomend the walk with the wolves.
Discovery Wildlife Zoo is expensive for what you get to see and do.I would expect more to the enclosures for the prices. Not to mention that anything extra costs more money. They do however let kids pet the adult large cats through the fence (for a price)Or feed baby animals from bottles (for a price)Get your picture taken with a bear (For a price)Get 10 minutes with a baby grizzly bear (for a price). So many extras yet such bare enclosures. I did see that they switch out animals with the Calgary zoo for the summer. There is an Owl and a Eagle from the Calgary zoo there right now and Calgary Zoo has two of Discovery's bears. It was a hot day when we were at Discovery and there was not any shade for people or animals really.Makes me wonder where the animals go in winter and to escape bad weather. On a plus it is not as crowded as Calgary Zoo and you can meander and not worry about missing anything. Service was alright I would have expected a more down to earth friendly small town feel but it seems like Discovery is trying to have that impersonal large city feel.Unless you pay more.
My family and i went today to the park and were very disappointed with the size of the enclosures and there was no water for the bears or lions. Very much like a cheap zoo. The animals looked very sad. We did not stay as it was not what we thought it was. Animal lovers should avoid this place. Very disheartening.
Really nice place. The Bear presentation was interesting for kids and adults! Not sure I would go there on purpose (it's quite far from our place), but it is a good place to stop by when on the way on HWY2. We will be coming back!
Our kids enjoy this place and we've been there 3 times. It's not nearly as large as most zoos and you can see everything in 2-3 hours. There are also several play areas and if you time it right you can watch them feed some of the animals.
Great.
Staff were very polite and knowledgeable. Definitely worth exploring again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first ever experience at this wildlife park. The bear show & the wolves were probably the high light for me. Very likely we will revisit someday.
Really cool up close exhibits
Great Keepers... Very Friendly
Yes
A hidden gem and must see in Alberta
This is my favourite place! I go every summer for my birthday to see the bears. Zoos are depressing seeing the animals imprisoned. This is a place where the animals are happy and well loved! It's am amazing place for the whole family to go.
Very friendly staff and great presentations.
It was AWESOME
A lot of bees
Very cool experience. Lions and Tigers and Bears oh my !!! Lots of other cool animals too. Highly recommend booking the animal experiences . Well worth it . The staff are very knowledgeable and so good with the animals.
It's good for 2 hrs of entertainment.
Nice place to walk around with the kids. Exhibits are good. Lots of animals and informative.
we Rented a rv so stayed over night and did the big cat adventure, absolutely brilliant time already planning next trip
Great place to spend with your children
Ok what a place. I loved the tours we were able to experience since we utilized the campground. The Walk the Wolf was something I’ll remember for a very long time. I would like to bounce a couple ideas off you though. 1) a separate entrance for campers, perhaps an entrance by the campground 2) how about if you camp there you also could get in an hour earlier 3) a later check out time for the campers, that way you are not tying up parking space with campers if they choose to go back in. Thank you so much everyone was amazing, the animals were being cared for so much we will be back
Love it! The rentable golf carts are great!
Had the Grandkids so we stayed at the Campground for a couple of days. Fun place and the little ones were even kept busy with things to do, fishing and playground stuff. Plus on special nights the wolfs would sing to us. Visited the Wildlife Park and it was a hit with them as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to spend some money but all is worth it when you think of the cost of operations and the experience the little ones have seeing a real tiger or wolf. If you want to camp and have a special visit with the Grandkids give this place a try.
Love the animals especially the wolves.
Pretty cool. Lions and tigers and bears oh my.
Had fun with the kiddoa
Make sure to come here early as to their activities and shows happens early or in the afternoon. We went there at about past 4pm and almost all the animals were sleeping or hiding in their shed so we didn't see most of it.
A lot of the enclosures didn't have signs describing what the animal was. Very hard to learn if you don't know what you are looking at!!
Good but day was rainy.. but we enjoy
We went to the park and was enjoying it greatly. Unfortuneately I walked farther than I could handle with my health issues. Was given a ride back to the main building and was able to rent a golf cart. It was wonderful. I was able to really enjoy the park after that. I never got the name of the helpful employee who gave me the ride back but it was wonderful customer experiance.
Awesome place to visit loving seeing the animals. Love that they have a home for life.
Fantastic. Grandkids loved the experience
Great way to spend the afternoon with 2 young kids. The Bears were more than happy to entertain and the lions and tigers even came out to make an appearance. There's a huge bull elk here as well as reindeer and many many other animals!
Great place foe kids. I would recommend taking the golf cart.
Nice zoo, especially worth a detour if you are heading to Edmonton. Wide variety of animals to see.
Lots of open space, large enclosures for animals and the staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful.
Nice place for family, kids play. Professional staff. Adult $19.
We love it
It was a great time! The shows they had were very well informated! They explained the back ground of the animals per show and things they did or could do! They were helpful with question and the bear show was great learning tool to kids or even adults on things to do and not to do! Even the food was great too! It's a great little day trip and learning trip! Also is amazing place for anyone into photography! Thank ladies and gentleman for the lovely experience and trip out there! Hope to see more and new animals there one day :)
One of the best zoos I've ever been to. We get season passes every year and our kids love it! Lots of space, good prices, great staff.
Always a wonderful time. Friendly and knowledgable staff
Price is too high for what is availible. Pathways don't allow a smooth transition from space to space, some just end. A nice small selection of animals, enclosures don't have much entertainment for the animals. The kids enjoyed it but I …
Staff where selfish and rude
This place is truly amazing definitely a go to spot even for 1 hour the baby bears are adorable❤️
Back after 4 years and lots of improvements. Totally worth the visit.
Great place to take the family.
Nice show, a bit pricey. Was too hot, not enough shady rest spots.
Great place to take a young family. The bear show is worth the trip! Right now, they have an amazing baby bear.
We had a grand time in this place and it's quite a unique experience. It was worth the drive from Calgary to Innisfail. The staff were informative and insightful as they talked about the animals in their well-kept conservatory. You can sense a vibrant ambiance which would explain why the animals they take care look happy. The washrooms are immaculately clean. Everything is reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place and I commend all the staff for their excellent customer service except the receptionist who was receptive to everybody else except me, she must not have been in the mood. Hence, the need to be indifferent. I can't wait to return there with my family. Thank you to those wonderful people.
Went here on our holidays and it was amazing
Very well taken care of, the staff were amazing, they have shows often to educate you about the animals. Quite a Fabulous Family Adventure
Great place to bring the kids for a day
Was really awesome. Would definitely go back.
(Translated) It is a place to spend a day with the family, admiring the excellent work of the staff and their dedication to the improvement and health of the animals. The animals are very well cared for and cared for. (Original) Es un lugar para pasar un dia en familia, admirando el excelente trabajo del personal y su entrega al mejoramiento y salud de los animales. Los animales estan muy bien cuidados y atendidos.
Smaller zoo, nothing compared to Calgary's zoo
We tried camping here last week (Aug.17-20) and left on the 19th. Major concern is the train traffic and the train whistles. On Aug.17th between 11pm and 5am on Aug.18th there were four trains. Whistles blow at EVERY crossing in town, its unavoidable and should be considered if you have small kids or enjoy a restful sleep. First Complaint - This is a "cost plus" camp ground. The fee for camping is one thing, however everything else is what I consider "cost plus". Bring a pet = $5/night, fishing = $5/person/day, catch a fish = $5 per fish, have a visitor stop by = $3 per car, fill up your water jug = $1, have a shower = $2/2 minutes... Second Complaint - Gates close at 10pm and don't open again until 10am. If you are off grounds past 10pm, call the phone# provided and the manager will open the gate. If you have guests coming before 10am (i.e. fishing, coffee, breakfast, etc.) call the phone# provided and the manager will open the gate. NOTE - You will get grief from the campground manager if you wake them up. Third Complaint - The campground manager is not very nice. She is rude, sarcastic and unfriendly.
Great place to take your family. We were there for most of the day and also had something different to see. Loved the bear talk and the chance to have a picture with them especially as it's part of there therapy. Would definitely recommend taking the trip down
Loved the presentations; the staff are knowledgeable about the animals and are super friendly. The bears were adorable and the big cats were awesome.. unfortunately I went on quite a hot day so a few of the animals were hiding :( but a fun day spent here nonetheless, keep up the great work!
We camped here and were very pleasantly surprised. Everything was spotless. Friendly staff. Great animal shows. Needs more shade but a great time.
Lots of empty cages at the time I went.
Great lion demonstration
This place is unbelievable hands down the best zoo I've ever been to. They actually go in with the animals and do awesome demonstrations
Great place to visit, and they are doing great work with the animals!
Used the camping facility Very clean and quiet this time of year. The zoo was also nice to visit.
Saw tons of bears, my kid loved it. Awesome place to enjoy and relax.
This park was amazing. We camped onsite. The shower house was well kept. The staff at this park were very helpful. I would recommend that you take in the different programs. They are very informative. My daughter is in love with bears and the afterhours Bear encounter was worth every penny. Serena and Berkley made the experience unforgettable. This is a must see site.
