Private Tour by Pam was excellent !!! We loved it. Miles and staff were so courteous and professional. Loved the Merlot and Sauvignon blanc tasting!!
I came here for a wine /food tasting on a weekday in July. The estate was full of people. …
Went here with some friends to enjoy the wine and scenery. We started with a selection of Rosé wine flight and nosh boards with various meats, pickles and cheeses. I would suggest the Manchego selection. Everything was an absolute delight. The staff was amazing. Everything presented to us came with detailed knowledge on the process/locations of our wines. I'll be sure to visit again soon.
You have to make a reservation. We were on the covered patio in case it rained, but in the garden looked lovely in between the vines. Those tables had an umbrella too. We tried the chardonnay, riesling berry, sparkling rose, summer in a bottle rose, and the sauvignon blanc. All were extremely smooth with a nice mouth feel. Taste was great also.
Two stars for the overall experience, four stars for the wine, food and service staff. We arrived for a reservation on the lawn to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary. The day of our visit, it had stopped raining about two hours before we arrived. We heard nothing from them about any plans affecting our reservation, so we expected no changes. Upon arrival and checking in with the host, we were told that the lawn was “closed” due to ground conditions and that they were going to try to accommodate us at an indoor table in about 20 minutes. My husband and I told the host that we were uncomfortable being seated indoors given COVID, especially since one of us is immunocompromised. We asked if we could be seated at the covered open-air terrace, but were told no since there were “several large groups expected later”. He then proceeded to offer us a shared high-top table, also indoors. At this point we saw that parties were sitting outside on the lawn, indicating that it wasn’t closed. When we asked about this, he said he wouldn’t be able to help us if the weather turned since they would be at capacity, and turned to us and asked “which one of us was going to make the decision”. Finally, we were seated outside on the lawn where conditions were fine. Within 10 minutes, 3 other parties were seated out on the lawn seemingly without issue. Over the course of the next 90 minutes, we watched as the terrace area emptied out and noted how empty some tables were, again contradicting what the host had said. Truly such an awful experience from the host staff, who had such an air of arrogance. They succeeded in making guests feel completely uncomfortable and declining to honor a reservation for reasons which turned out to be invalid and untrue. We will not be returning.
One of, if not *the*, nicest and most enjoyable places in the Hamptons. The vineyard and Villa are gorgeous, their cheese tasty, and their white/rosé wines delicious. Get the flights (not available during COVID) and enjoy a stellar hang.
I loved the ambiance and although I’m not the biggest wine lover it was a really nice time. The hostess explained all the different wines and grapes.
Absolutely stunning vineyard and tasting environment. Even though we didn’t have reservations we were able to find seats at the self serve picnic tables on the lawn. Had an even better time closer to the vines and in the sunshine. 100% will be back next time we are in town!
Fantastic wine at a beautiful location and great service.
The place is beautiful, the wines are great, the service very attentive.
It's known for one of the best Vineyard in the east coast. Staff are pretty caring and guided us very well in picking the right wines and sides. One word it's a delicious experience. It is $$$ but super worth it.
Beautiful vineyard, trendy and loud crowd, attentive service. Be prepared to drop a few hundo on a tasting, bottle of wine and $25 flatbread the size of your hand.
Great atmosphere to enjoy some wine.
The manager Sue Ellen is a racist. I went there with my family and was refused service. After calling her a racist thats when she decieded to service us. But the damage was done and dis not want to be there. Our money os as good as anyone there and she did not want to accommodate us. Please dont go to this place.
Such a beautiful place! Delicious wine, food! Amazing service! Try estate flatbread!!!!
Beautiful ambiance along with the wine. Go for the wine samples first before taking the tour. They also have a cheese sampler, which I recommend having along with the wine. Best goat cheese and chorizo I've had. Great staff and people!
We had a great time here at the estate. We did the two flights which at the time were the rose and then then standard flight two whites and two reds (we then added on the $100+ taster to the flight as that was the one not included we wanted to try) Did the 35$ board with mix of cheese and meats (server was nice to let us sub the cheeses we wanted which makes that pick the easiest on the menu economically speaking) It was freezing and windy but we still sat outside to catch the views and the charm on the vineyard. Given the temperature we opted not to do the tour which we will do upon our return. I hate to say a must do as it was already very crowded, but it is a must do. Great spot. Only reason not a 5 is that the service could have been slightly better, only marginally, the flow or the layout was not the best for just lounging, and the prices were simply too high. The wine is good mind you, but to try and command 1.5-3x on the market for good wine is a lot. Overall for experience though, it was a blast.
Nice place, poor selection in the menù and the prosciutto looks like someone else was chewing it before. But the location it's great.
Always wonderful. I love going to Wolffer in the winters. Wonderful wines, ciders and food.
This is a great vineyard to check out that’s right no the way to Hampton beach I like the classic red it’s a nice place to take pictures and just chill and have fun the staff is super friendly!
The tour and tasting was amazing. We were a group of ten and Wolffer was very accomodating. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing the process from vine to barrel and tasting some amazing wines. Next time is love to stick around and try a meal paired with the delicious wine.
I've been going to this place for years and it is absolutely awesome. I have always made friends with the staff and I never felt pressured to spend a lot of money so don't think that is the case. This is the best vineyard in the Hamptons and the wine is top notch. The sparkling blanc de blanc and rose are as flavorful and aromatic as almost anything from Champagne or Napa Valley. The seasonal Rose is also special, with a perfect blend of smoothness and power. I've never had any unfriendly staff so I don't know what others are talking about. Like I said, I've been here countless times.
Fun, picturesque tasting room overlooking the vineyard. The wines are tasty, with the flights being a great value. We got a Mediterranean board as well which was delicious. Wine in the shop is super reasonable to buy to go as well.
Perfect for autumn outdoor snacking for lunch. Definitely go with the autumn tasting for the reds. The 2012 Cassango Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite and pairs excellently with the charcuterie appetizer cheese board. I’d recommend this vineyard for everyone and it’s definitely a must if you’re in South Fork area.
If you're looking for a relaxing vino escape while in the Hamptons, head to Wölffer Estate Vineyards, located in Bridgehampton in the South Fork of Suffolk County, New York. Described by its staff as "an American Winery in the Classic European Tradition," the 175-acre estate features an inviting tasting room that opens up onto a beautiful terrace overlooking 55 acres of vineyards. As late founder Christian Wölffer was an equestrian, the estate is also home to a 100-acre world-class equestrian center, complete with the largest indoor riding ring on the East Coast. While visiting the vineyard, I recommend sitting on the terrace and enjoying a flight of the Club Tasting, which includes the following wines this summer: - 2010 Sauvignon Blanc: Fruity and refreshing, this citrusy treat is perfect for a sunny day on the terrace. It is composed of 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes purchased from Palmer Vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island. - 2010 Grandioso Rosé: Light salmon in color, this rosé features baked apple, caramel and pear aromas and is composed of 66% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc and 8% Chardonnay. - 2008 Caya Cabernet Franc: Long Island is known for the Cabernet Franc varietal - this one features subtle spicy black pepper, blackberry, cherry and chocolate notes and an elegant minerality, yet is light enough for summer sipping. It is composed of 86% Cabernet Franc and 14% Merlot. - 2009 "Laica" Late Harvest (Ice Wine) Vignoles and Riesling: This elegant and not-too-syrupy harvest wine is sweet with caramel and peach. Winemaker Roman Roth recommends pairing this ice wine with fresh fruit, fruit tart or fruit sorbet, or simply enjoying it on its own. This wine is composed of 62% Vignoles, grown at Wolffer Estate Vineyard and 38% Riesling, grown at Jamesport Vineyard.
Really great place. Went off season early spring. Not too crowded. Very nice atmosphere. We got two flights and a nosh board with meats, cheeses, pickles, peppers, crackers etc. Beautiful views of the vineyard. Nice setup, exterior looks very European. Staff inside was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Cant wait to visit again
I asked to order some caviar stuffed lobster to accompany my Pinot Grigio but they would not serve it. Barbarians.
The best experience. Beautiful vineyard, perfect atmosphere and great wines. Special thanks to the manager Myles!
Absolutely beautiful place. Only issue was we made reservations and they still made us sit inside to wait for 30 minutes before we could have a seat outside... if you make a reservation days in advanced you should be able to sit where you want. The wine and small plates were great and the gift shop was even better. Genny who was running the cashier in the gift shop made our trip there so great, she was extremely friendly and treated us with superb customer service! Overall great place!
We recently purchased a house out in Sag Harbor and having spent some time living out in SF and Napa we were excited to get to know the local wineries. Our first experience at Wolffer was fine, we arrived before closing and tasted some good wines with friends, server was nice but rushed as it was closing soon, expected in new york. We rent our house out frequently so we even decided to recommend some guests visit. As most loyal wine drinkers do we decided to join the wine club, we signed up like we did out in Napa and were excited for our pickup. This is when the winery really let us down, we received an email to go pickup our first shipment, we drove over to pick up and do some drinking. When we arrived we spoke to a lady who seemed to be a waitress about picking up our shipment and opening a bottle, she looked at us with disgust and said NO you cannot do that and walked away, I have never met someone so rude in my life. So we have just purchased wine and we can't open a bottle and purchase food and enjoy it? We then went into the room to pickup our shipment, we were treated like cattle, no personal touch or thanks so much for being a member, we again inquired about opening a bottle and enjoying it, rudeness continued, well the shipments are cheaper so you have to buy more wine to drink it here, ok well at least now we understood why instead of someone just saying NO and walking away. I understand you are catering to a different crowd then Napa but being polite to guest and members is standard anywhere. We will not return and cancel our membership, please hire some actual professionals to run your wine program.
Can't go wrong this is a must stop. Very amazing wine and very great service.
We went on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. We really like the terrace seating and it was bright and decorated very nicely. The Terrance seating is sealed off from the cold and it was cozy with the heat lamp next to us. We order the Estate Flatbread (fig jam, manchego, sliced apple, prosciutto, and balsamic on top), it was small for $25 but delicious. We enjoyed the cider and wine tasting, and mulled wine afterwards.
Southern style winery encountered on the eastern end of the Long Island. Good tasting and winery tour.
Love this place! We came on a Tuesday at noon and already there were about 8 cars in the lot. The inside is very large yet has a hip, cozy lodge feel. We took a seat in the big soft cushy chairs that surrounded a little table, and ordered wine tasting and cheese and meat platter. There were only a few other couples and small group of 4 there, but the place is spacious enough that it felt like we had it to ourselves. Our server was so nice, and very knowledgeable. Would def come again. I hear weekends are a nightmare, but can't really comment on that!
Nice vineyard with really good wine. You can bring your own chairs and blankets in case you want to have picnic day. Little bit expensive if you ask me, and you’re also not allowed to walk around the vineyard or touch the grapes, thing that in other vineyards you are allowed to.
My wife and I have now made 4 attempts to visit your winery. Each time the winery was closed to the public. I'm assuming for some sort of private event. Normally this would be okay if I lived close to the winery, but we dont. With traffic, there's always traffic, it takes almost 90 minutes to get there. Needless to say, we have no further desire to make yet another futile trek unless we are guranteed to get in. Did you ever think of sending emails notices to your list giving them a heads up on when you are closed? How about a notice on your site?
Top tier vineyard. The facilities were immaculate, the wine was delicious and everyone was extremely friendly. We did a tasting tour, our guide Savanah was fantastic, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun! She made the experience that much better. We loved it, would definitely recommend!
Had a great time at this vineyard. The staff was excellent and very attentive. The food was delicious and the wine sampling was quite tasteful. A bit pricey but the overall experience was good and you get what you pay for. Will probably be back eventually.
Beautiful setting and amazing wine! Can't ask for more. We had their summer in a bottle in white and rose and they did not disappoint! But FYI, they're $50 each vs. $25 at their store inside.
Had the spring wine tasting which was 4 types of rose - amazing selection with the grapes of Roth and summer in a bottle being a standout. A good selection of cheeses perfectly complemented the wine.
We spent a wonderful day there this past weekend celebrating. Tim was absolutely magnificent! He went above and beyond and until Tim found us, we were a bit lost and were ready to walk out after 30 minutes of just waiting and being passed over. FYI...You can no longer sit down in the tasting room without a reservation and all of the reservations are sold out on line. You may sit outside if you can get a table which is still lovely but no one told us you have to get your own drinks and you cannot do tastings out there. We felt like just another number and felt neither like a customer nor valued. Lines at the bar were long and everything seemed very unorganized. Finally we placed our drink order and ordered a flatbread. The wine was fabulous but the appetizer never made it to us. It sat behind the bar only to get cold and inedible. We were fortunate enough to have connected with Tim and he helped us navigate through things. He guided us to the wines we liked, got us charcuterie boards and we even purchased 2 cases of wine because of him. Had it not been for Tim, it would have been an otherwise disappointing experience. He made us feel special, valued and took excellent care of us. A few years ago we cancelled our Grand Prix membership because of terrible service coupled with a ruined birthday and we never returned . We decided to give them another chance a few years later and although it was touch and go with us almost leaving, Tim saved the day. I hope Wölffer realizes how very lucky they are to have someone like Tim as an ambassador for them and their wines. The Wölffer experience has the potential to be outstanding however, much more structure, organization and service training is needed. Tim...thank you for making our celebration so wonderful...you are a class act and elevate the experience to another level!
Came here for a tasting of what must be Long Island's very best wine. We were greeted by host Stacy who is both pleasant and knowledgble. She sat us among the grapes with a wonderful view. …
Good wine and service, enjoyed the live music.
This place is stunning. The little tray of meat and cheese was really good. I also almost found a wine I really liked and that really says something seeing is how I'm a beer guy.
Excellent! Superb service and a wonderful setting!
love the Pinot Grigio and good times with my friends after fishing all day. This place is why my third home is located in Bridgehampton. Only 4 stars because my auto was bumped last time i visited, and the manager was indifferent. Still, the quality of past experiences leave me with only one star off of five.
Always a great experience!
The best winery on Long Island, hands down. Amazing time today here. What a great staff and ownership. Had a wonderful conversation with Pamela about the history of the Hamptons. Will be back for sure!
Very pretty. However do not attempt to go here on wknds like we did. Traffic is horrible which ruined it for me. Not spending balance of my day off in bumper to bumper this summer. And I only live 30 miles away but takes forever.???? Wine is good. Will stick with north fork wineries from now on so we can get the most out of our day ????????????
Lovely place to spend a few hours. Great wine, cheese and charcuterie selections!
I had a wonderful experience here. We did the tour and wine tasting. Kristen, our server, was knowledgeable and personable. Vanessa was dedicated to making sure we had a positive experience. I would definitely come back here!
Absolutely fantastic service the wine is to die for and the food is delicious, would 500% come again!
We came on a Thursday morning and had personal service with explanations of how each wine is different and how it was produced. The inside is newly renovated with a casual rustic ambiance. The charcuterie/cheese plate was amazing with the stone ground mustard and quince (delicious fruit spread) on crackers. Definitely worth a visit!
Great views from the fields of the vines. The wine though was just decent. The whites were probably better than the reds, probably because of the climate. The reds just lacked a bit of a full flavor. The prices were a bit high for a glass but it is a winery on the Hamptons. The clientelle though is a bit annoying. Think bachelorette parties and over privaledged youth yelling over your party. Still, can't beat the view.
One of my favorite wineries, the bottles are beautiful, the location picturesque, and of course their food and wine delicious. They also started making gin that's light pink and taste amazing with the summer in the bottle rose, they make a …
Really fun experience! Staff is very attentive without impacting the viewing experience one bit. Cocktails and food are themed to match the movie, which adds to the appeal.
We had amazing time this weekend at the wolffer vineyard. The staffs are all so warm and welcoming. ???????? thanks everyone!!
Great place. Friendly people. Very accommodating.
Wölffer Estate might be a beautiful Vineyard but I would unfortunately not recommend it for a nice lunch or dinner. I made a 6pm reservation online and when we arrived the hostess RUDELY told us that the kitchen closes at 6 so we had to order quickly if we wanted to eat anything. This made 0 sense as I made the reservation weeks in advanced in hopes of having dinner! To add salt to the wound I decided to make my reservation a couple weeks in advance so I could get a table on the lawn (the website lets you pick either lawn of terrace and the lawn tables are hard to come by). When we got there they put us on the terrace. I asked the waiter if we could move to the lawn since that was where are reservation was for and he told us no because they were cleaning the lawn before closing. While Wölffer may be a beautiful Vineyard I would give it two BIG thumbs down for their dining service. As Julia Roberts says in Pretty Woman, big mistake- HUGE!!!
Extremely busy on the weekend. Hard to grab a server’s attention but worth a trip for a small group tasting. Right now it’s too early to see any greens on vines.
The space is gorgeous and some of the wines are decent, but it was not a wine tasting experience at all. You just order a flight from the menu and a server brings it out. No one spoke with us about any of the wines, the vineyard, the wine making process or any special characteristics...it just felt like we were ordering some wines to try from a restaurant that happened to have a lovely view. Would have loved to learn more about the wines and the vineyard, which is standard while wine tasting. The food is insanely overpriced - $25 for a small flatbread. But maybe that is normal pricing for this area?
very nice but a little pricey. Its a long drive from but worth it!!!! Just beautiful ????????????????
I love this place. The staff is wonderful. The tasting room is a beautiful Tuscan atmosphere that overlooks the vineyard. Airtime the holidays the light the confess with holiday lights. The wine is one of the best in Long island. I definitely would recommend this for an afternoon to do.
Beautiful place with the beautiful wines!
Beautiful estate and vineyards. We took the tour around the property and sampled the wines. The tour was informative, you learn about the different way grapes are grown and visit the cellar. The Rosè is delicious and you get 10% off the store if you do the tour. Go early on a weekday to avoid the crowds, we had the place to ourselves.
You could feel the racial ignorance and frustration of seeing a color person, therefore we didn't stay..we bought some wine, and tipped well to put some light towards the ignorance, we 1st went to the road side stand the guy was very polite and he suggested us that if we like to dine inn, to visit this place, as we walked in... the attending girl seems nice and polite as we were getting reserved a guy showed up 1st I could literally feel the hostility, then a girl addressed as a manager showed up she was just like him, I felt like we were judged by our appearance, as we requested to taste wine , it took for ever, so we left with some bottles and paid tips nicely so that they can think about their actions..
Highly recommend the tour & tasting. What a perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon. We had the best Saturday wandering the property, then tasting the different wines in their gorgeous tasting room. Food wasn't bad either. Highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.
Fantastic service different than most winery tasting rooms. You have table service like a restaurant and they take your drink and food orders. Open much later than most wineries. Beautiful views of the grounds and the front steps are a great place to watch the sunset
Fantastic wine and a beautifully built out winery to visit. You can book a lunch or dinner on their large back patio, overlooking the vines. This would be a dreamy location for a private event!
It was a great place, with an amazing view and great wine. We spent our new years here and was all the fun we needed. If you're in Hamptons this if the spot you want to be at. This was the cider and vines available there.
This place was amazing! Our waitress Tyler was so sweet and helpful and made us feel right at home. The veranda views were beautiful and the Rose flights were delicious and well worth it. The gift shop is amazing!!
Loved it! Beautiful setting, good wine selection, delish cheese/meat/cracker boards, and open later than other vineyards. Of course somewhat pricey and gets quite crowded on weekends, but definitively worth a visit.
Well we got there a very polite hostess led us to a table right by the wine tasting bar because they give you a choice of the bar or a table we watched and waited for about 10 to 15 minutes. no one came to the table to ask if we were OK or did we need anything. so we got up quietly and left. on the way out someone did tell us to have a good day. So with that being said not a good experience at wolffer estate Vinyard.
Loved the wine flight and the lavender spritzer!!! Felt really nice being able to enjoying an indoor/outdoor patio like that. Great service as well.
Great vineyard experience, really nice indoor and outdoor seating options. Tasty wine, nice selection of cheese plates. Two different flight option were really great, they even have cider options. Definitely would go again. Use the website for easy reservations.
Lovely experience. Waitstaff was kind, thoughtful, patient, and knowledgeable. Venue is gorgeous and very comfortable.
What a horrible experience. This was suppose to be our first experience in wine tasting & it was horrible. We was greeted & then seated but after that, the service was horrible. We stood there for 15 mins waiting for someone to even acknowledge us. People that came after us was being served. Beautiful place but bad service. The only thing I took with me, were pictures. I guess our time & money wasn't good enough for this winery.
Nice winery and super scenic vineyard! Was directed to the "winestand" around the corner from the main winery area due to a wedding. The winestand had a live band and lots of outdoor seating. Chartreuserie board was worth it.
Great Saturday sunset plan! Bring your blanket and get ready for local wine or cider. Perfect for solo or group plans. Live music and warm weather are the cherry on top! Taking a bottle on the way out is the way to go but beware of the grumpy lady who just want people to leave because “the store is closing” ????
I have been coming here for almost 20 years. At first I did not like all of the changes, but I am liking them more and more each time I come. Absolutely a slice of heaven in the Hamptons. A must for any trip to the Hamptons no matter what time of year.
I visited for my friends bachelorette party. We had zack as our expertise for the wine. We had a great time. The weather was a little chilly but there is an enclosed section that has heaters (that’s where we were). We chose a package to taste the different types of wine and have something to eat that would compliment each wine. . The food was fantastic I wish we had lots of it but it was sooo good. Zach as really smart and knew his wine well and taught us a bunch of stuff that we didn’t know. He was so nice to us and cracked some jokes, we felt very comfortable. Next time I come here, I will definitely be requesting Zach as my expertise
This winery was great for tasting. My wife loved the wines and I loved the meat and cheese plate. The tasting room was large, yet cozy and the outdoor views were great. Tastings were more than most wineries at $25, but there were no loud obnoxious bachelorette parties (as they are not allowed). The ambiance was great.
Truly spectacular, a must do if you visit!
Had a reservation for two on the lawn and it was perfect. Our table was just in between the rows of vineyards and all tables were well distanced from each other. We had the summer in a bottle rosé and a cheese board.. both were pretty good. The place overall was beautiful and I would definitely come back.
Beautiful space. Kuku service, slower ever ever ever..... Expensive food menu $25 for a tiny flat bread ! But we'll when you have nothing else to eat this is what they can do. Love their Chardonnay and don't forget the Pink Gin it was absolutely delicious!
We loved the views of the vineyard from The Wine Stand. It was a beautiful setting with live music. They had tables or you can bring your own blanket to setup in the grass. We really enjoyed the Summer in a Bottle Rosé and Summer in a Bottle White.
Love this place. The cider flight is delicious. The brie is out of this world and the heaters on the patio are strong enough to make it cozy on a chilly day.
Beautiful! They do a great job especially at this crazy time
I had always seen Wölffer's wines and more recently ciders in stores, but had never tried them before. Beautiful location that looks like an Italian building from the outside. Tried their wines, ciders, and gin, with the gin being my favorite albeit the gin & tonic I got wasn't very strong. The cider was light and dry, and a nice 6.9% ABV which is higher than average. The flatbread was good but remember this place is a vineyard first, kitchen second. I have yet to try their ice wine but they do make it.
Get the red blend table table wine! It compares to some I've had in Europe; it is ridiculously good! The "Sweet Plate" is everything you think it is! (amazing.) Good food, good service, just bring a friend or a date or a few friends and let the good times roll!
Very beautiful vineyard. Please dress a little formal to not feel out of place. The staff is so friendly and I love their rose.
Drinks are great and freshly made. We sat and had food by the bar. Our bartenders Jamie and Corena were awesome.
Wow I absolutely love coming to the wölffer estate! A great experience every time. Huge shout out to Michelle and David, these two were extremely knowledgeable and attentive at our last visit for our tasting experience.
The space is huge and besides the great selection of wines, it is a beautiful location. I'm not a wine expert, but I just loved the place. Could spend my entire day just having wine and walking around. Also, staff is very friendly and they explain a lot about the wines
Very nice place, felt as if I was in Tuscany. Close to Montauk Hwy, yet the views are incredible. They have tours as well, which seemed like they are very informative and take you throughtout the vineyard, though we did not take one this time.
Customer service is EXCELLENT. Wine and the accompanying food menu of course also GREAT. Highly recommend for persons on weekend vacation in the Hamptons.
Such a great experience and wonderful atmosphere. By far our favorite on the flight was estate rosè and the off flight was the 2019 Cabernet Franc. Food was great and quick service. Will definitely visit again!!
Beautiful estate, very clean and everyone is super polite
Beautiful winery in East Hampton. Their food and wines are great. Our tour guide Julia was very friendly and witty. I also like their pretty branding package.
I’ve been here twice now with friends since it is a “trendy” place. FYI there are no grapes on the vine in November. Overall, great food and service! We sat indoors and tables were spaced far apart. You come here for the experience, and …
Super disappointed. Went for a tasting and were closed due to private event so they had us visit the wine stand. I asked for a tasting, they said they don’t do tastings. And that was that. Someone else asked and the lady at the bar said they could try any bottles they’d liked, but why not phrase it better and not just write someone off? Definitely need better customer service up front. I probably won’t visit again. Staff seemed a little preoccupied and pretentious.
Overall lovely evening of wine tasting. The atmosphere is beautiful both inside and outside you really can’t get a bad seat. It was a little slow service wise but the wine and atmosphere was great
Amazing place, exceptional and friendly service by all members of staff. The wine pairings menu is excuisite! Highly recommend!!
If you're looking for a place to kick back and enjoy beautiful scenery, great wine and incredible service, Wolffer Estate Winery is the place to visit. We had a wonderful time all thanks to the great service and atmosphere.
What a terrible experience. Avoid at all costs. Customer service is so terrible. Miles is the rudest host I’ve ever encounter. The staff there is super racist and rude. Brie is a liar and so rude. Avoid this place unless you want to have a terrible time. Never will I waste my time again here.
Had an amazing experience celebrating my anniversary at Wolffer Estate. Gorgeous scenery and delicuous wine Hostess Paris and our waitress Lexi made our day. The sweetest! Will def make another 2 hour treck back!
During the quarantine I was able to order and receive wine in under two days for great prices. Shipping was easy to track, packaging was perfectly done. Most importantly though the Cabernet franc and red blends I received were delicious! Cheers!
Beautiful views with great wines!
Great! Beautiful vineyard! Nice non alcoholic Rose!
Loved the wine, the snack boards, and the staff!
Rude rude and rude!!!! Spent over $599 here and was told by the hostess that my party was talking too loud!!! We were all laughing and having a good time. This was on a Saturday when the place was packed. I'm hearing impaired and I need for …
African american hostess was extremely rude. She turned my group away when there were many open tables. Right after we sat by the bar she started seating all the walk-ins. When I asked her why she said she was just a little backed up when I wanted to be seated. Horrible service and I will not be returning.
My wife and I came here for a bite to eat and shared a wine flight. The cheese and charcuterie plate was incredible and we really enjoyed the wines. We sat outside on a colder day but they had heaters out which made it really comfortable so you could still sit outside and enjoy the scenery. It made for a great day out east. Looking forward to going back again soon.
Came for the annual harvest party for first of hopefully many with family food festivities were first class ONLY thing that would have been nice would be to have some beer next year especially since many of my friends were German great day
Love the place. Been to many vineyards both on the West Coast and East, but really like the vibe here. If you like wine, consider getting the membership—they ships 4-6 bottles of wine every 3 months for $100-180 depending on the membership you choose. You get 15% off every bill including take outs of wine bottles. There’s a waitlist for 2 out of 4 membership levels. If you have a baby and don’t want to climb up the stairs by the entrance, you can drive up to the outdoor area and park there (not many people know of this).
Great atmosphere! Make sure your not a minute late, we were 2 mins late for our reservation of 14 and they “already gave our table away” outside but accommodated us inside.
Wine are good across the board. Friday and Saturday nights during the summer they have live music which is a lot of fun. Kids love the music and can run around. All this awesomeness comes a price. They are probably the most expensive winery to visit.
First, before I forget, our waitress' name was Casey. Our experience started with the super nice man who greeted us in the parking lot, when they were obviously packed... We didn't have reservations, but he advised if went in there was a "chance". Well, 4 of us went in, dude at the host station figured it out and we had an absolute blast. Amazing wine, great cheese and fruit platters, and I love how they encourage you to go out and explore the vineyard. Just a really cool experience. Definitely recommend!!!
Beautiful sprawling vineyard with a gorgeous manor playing host to guests. Not to mention amazing wine selection!
Wonderful service and ambience! The servers are so friendly and drinks are reasonable prices. We recommend going in the off-season around fall time. We accidentally broke our bottle on our way out and we were replaced gratuitously!
This is a beautiful vineyard. It was decorated so nicely for the holidays too. We made reservations for a table online but i accidentally made it for a Sunday instead of a saturday. The staff was very accommodating and were able to seat us right away anyways. The wine was great and i liked that we were able to pick our own stuff to build a cheese plate
The cheese and charcuterie selections and presentations were incredible. Not a huge fan of the wine flight, but that is personal preference. Service was decent, location and atmosphere beautiful!
What a disappointing experience. The location is stunning and the wine is great, however it doesn't make up for the moments this establishment drops the ball. I'll get to the service in a moment, but something my friend and I felt was the biggest issue currently was the lack of mask wearing. Staff were wearing them under the nose or taking them off at times to 'breathe'. Plus, not enforcing guests to wear them when moving around the space. I've eaten out at a few other places with outdoor dining and there have been zero issues on this front. The service was terrible, we waited over 30 mins for our first glass of wine, with a 1.5 hour time limit on the seating, we wanted to have a few of glasses of wine but only fit in two after the waitress forgot out second order. Everyone working there just seemed like they were incredibly unhappy. It all felt very amateur. Such a shame, it just doesn't make me want to go back.
The place itself is beautiful; the surroundings of the winery are picturesque, but the food is incredibly overpriced and they only seem to want to cater to people who are regulars.
Came in the winter. It was amazing. Sat outside under the heaters. Didn’t need a jacket. Wine and boards were excellent. Rosé was my favorite.
We went for a graduation celebration. We tried the estate flights and the rose. The red cider was really good. Only giving it 3 stars because the waitress wasn't too helpful. there were items we ordered that were never brought to us. And the location is not that big. We also got a weird vibe from the security guards. This all made for a very weird environment. We've been to other wineries but none have been this uncomfortable. If you are in the area, I guess its ok to check out.
We had a beautiful afternoon. The staff were great. The only issue was there were only a few umbrellas and we had to sit in the sun on a hot day.
Very pretty... but horrible service. My husband and I walked in the tasting room asked the bartender if its okay if we sat outside and she said yes, I will send someone right over... 20 minutes later nothing! So we decided to walk inside and sit down 10 minutes later... nothing! My husband had to ask a passing waitress if we could be helped. She seemed annoyed and asked what we wanted. Brought us our wine and we never saw her again. We had to get up for napkins and our check. We will not be returning.
I came here for my sisters 30th birthday and our waiter Paris made it the best one yet! Thank you so much Paris, and thank you Wolffer for the delicious wine. The cheese and charcuterie board is very worth it. I’m smiling writing this review - such great memories were made
Cabernet is recommended.
Absolutely no regard for industry professionals who purchase their wine for retail. Came in for tasting with colleague to sample wines to possibly purchase for shop and was subsequently billed for the tasting despite doing business with them for years. This is not industry practice ANYWHERE! I’ve tasted wines all over Long Island, NYC and many Wine Regions in the world and I have NEVER had that experience. Totally classless trying to make a dime off of people they’ve done business with. They are a pure waitstaff sit down and bill customers like a restaurant type of vineyard. I’ve been to the vineyard as a wine lover for eighteen years, knew Christian Wolffer and after his passing the attitude has been deplorable. Despite this I continued to promote their attempt in creating quality wine and once I began working in the industry promoted them in the shop. NO MORE! This absence of courtesy, lack of respect to loyalty and poor business practice is atrocious. I will say Roman Roth the wine maker is a class act. He has a stake in the vineyard and it’s a shame he has to bear witness to egocentric profiteers who’d sacrifice relationships for a buck. To anyone who reads this use it as a word of caution and know what you’re getting into. I will be sharing this experience with many professionals in the industry.
Nice wait staff ((kudos to Kaylee) but beware if you decide to purchase a bottle of wine. Bought a $36 bottle of 2010 Umbra Merlot that, when opened and poured splattered sediment throughout the glass. Called the winery and told by an arrogant representative that’s how they bottle the wine - that I should have known better, prepared to see sediment and appropriately poured the wine through a strainer. When asked why I didn’t receive the courtesy of this information at purchase, the question was ignored and I got another lecture on how they process and bottle their wine. (Of course it was ignored - who would buy a bottle knowing they had some work to do after the cork came out.) Having never opened a wine that poured sediment, my complaint was valid though ignored by their representative. Buyer beware! Next time I decide to buy a bottle at a winery, I’ll ask the question. But it will certainly be at another winery, never again Woffler.
Great atmosphere for a wine tasting. Beautiful outdoor seating area faces vineyards. Not a big fan of their wine selections.
Outstanding wines ... Wonderful setting and can't wait to go back every time we leave! This is an amazing experience!
Nice views. However we made a reservation a week in advance for 6 people on the lawn and the hostess basically told us to go screw. Upon arrival we were told to wait in line to check in for our reservation which took 12 mins. After checking in we were told they had no tables available on the lawn or outside all-together. They had to seat us inside right up against the bar and promised to move us to our reserved table after 20-25 mins. At the 30 minute mark we asked the hostess if we could move to our outside table that she said she would move us to. However she said it wasn’t possible as they had nothing available. We spent the whole time up against the bar inside instead. This place does not care about their customers and you should avoid at all costs. Oh also you can get their wine for 50% less in the area than at their vineyard.
Sold out. There was a time when it would get 5 stars my wife and I have been visiting the Vinyard since the mid nineties every summer on the weekend, sometimes weekdays. This year it became almost impossible to get in without a reservation and the not so friendly girl in the parking lot made it clear we could only stand at the bar. The first three visits we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who seated us on the interior which was perfect. But, this weekend, upon driving up, a man greeted us and said "the boss just told staff no walk-ins today." The odd thing was previously it was so busy we had to park around by the Vinyard, today, there were plenty of spaces in the lot. He apologized and said the wine stand was open. After an hour and half drive, wasn't much of a choice and we gave it a try. The stand was overly crowded, ok, we were here and waited. Ordered our usual bottle of cabernet franc, interesting that the bottle was still priced at $44 without table service. Along with that, our favorite charcuterie plate, which wasn't even close to what you get at the estate, although $35 same price.
I live in Queens, NY and drove to this location and it was worth the 2 hour drive!! On the way to the vineyard you get to fri e past these huge houses which is just a stunning view. Upon arrival, you enter the parking lot and see the front door. Looks like you’re about to experience something amazing. There are parking attendants in the lot directing you to empty spots so you actually don’t have to look for yourself. We got outdoor seating in the tasting room. 1 flight was enough for us to have a good time. We had the summer flight along with a meat and cheese board. There was no rush during our time there and the service was good. There is no real food so don’t arrive hungry. Afterwards, we saved our last drink and stepped down to the entrance of the vineyard and took photos. You aren’t allowed to walk through the vineyard on your own. That wasn’t an issue at all. It was a great place to sit and sip and take photos. I will be going back for a visit. They are open all year round and the staff recommends visiting around Christmas time.
The Pinot & rosé were my favorite. Staff was friendly & the winery was covid friendly. The only reason for 4 stars is because when we first were seated we were served dirty/used plates. Luckily we had a lovely waiter who removed & replaced them right away
To be clear, the venue, serving staff and wine was all excellent. The one star is due to the situation we encountered with the female manager that works there. I am the owner of a service dog. Again, to be clear, not an ESA but a fully trained service animal. We were originally sat at a table in the corner by the entrance only to then be approached by said manager who rudely requested I produce all documentation to prove service dog status. When I explained this was legally not something she could request she asked me to confirm the service the animal provides which I did. She then explained this is a private property and as such they can do as they like and they don’t permit dogs. I was horrified. I tried kindly to explain while I understood she may have encountered individuals claiming ESA status this dog was a service animal. I further explained that 1) asking for paper documents demonstrated she had no idea what a service animal was and 2) Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), privately owned businesses that serve the public, such as restaurants, hotels, retail stores, taxicabs, theaters, concert halls, and sports facilities, are prohibited from discriminating against individuals with disabilities. The ADA requires these businesses to allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals onto business premises in whatever areas customers are generally allowed. She told us to enjoy our tasting but note that they don’t accept dogs. We placed our order only to find her back again. This time to notify us that we would have to sit outside but it was very busy and they didn’t have a table so could we go sit in our car?! Again horrified!! I asked her quietly to please stop making a scene. The dog was sat perfectly under the table, it was vital I ate something and none of this fuss was necessary. She then threatened me with security. At this stage I felt it necessary to challenge her behavior and incredibly rude tone. As I did she slowly backed down but not without one final jab - ‘enjoy your tasting but again, next time we won’t accept your dog’. I am sympathetic to business owners and the abuse of ESAs, it puts everyone in a bad situation but speaking to clients like they are dirt on your shoe, not observing the behavior of the animal to see clearly it is aerobics and generally just being nasty is totally unnecessary. This manager needs training in both the rules of Service Animals but also just humanity.
Best vineyard out east, including the ones in riverhead Beautiful decor Great ambience Good apps Beautiful scenery Great service
My husband an I have been to this winery several times & love their wines & have always had a great experience, but the past 2 times we visited have been miserable. They set it up where you get seated at a table & receive table service for your tasting. Both times we were seated at a table & ready to order a tasting with no one coming over to help us. All the workers just kept walking by our table without even a "hello". We sat for about 20-30 minutes before we got up & walked out. This is an absolutely gorgeous winery, but the service has really been lacking. Best to go during the slow season or to their smaller tasting stand.
Beautiful spot and tasty wines but this is not a great place for a "wine tasting". We had 2 servers, one was very nice and knowledge and the other was not to be desired, he was rude and didn't care to talk about anything on the menu. We had to pry out answers on the wines and best ideas for pairing food options. If you want a beautiful scenery and decent glass of wine this place is great, however if you want to learn about the wines and truly experience a wine tasting go to Channing Daughters Winery.
This place was amazing! Sam made us have The best time he hooked it the f up! We enjoyed many glasses of wine and charcuterie that was so freaking good. They didn’t have vegan charcuterie but I was able to drown myself in fig spread. I approve of the wines here too
The wine flights and cheese board are worth it but a little expensive.
Great place and experience! My family and I went here while on family vacation. We were outdoors in the vineyard for our wine tasting experience! It was beautiful! We had exceptional customer service from the beginning to the end! The wines and food were a huge hit too!! Top notch!! Loved this place!!
Terrible parking service. Stuff is not professional. After spending 15 minutes looking for a parking space, they told me to leave and find a parking space outside the winery...! Using unprofessional language to talk, like he called me a"bro"...? So anyway, hopefully the manager will reach out to the employees and do something about that. Not gonna come anymore to this place.
This venue is beautiful. I have no complaints about the scenery, wine or food. I’m giving this vineyard 2 stars for it’s unprofessionalism. We had reservations made for the terrace area. They have a sign on each table saying that masks must be worn at all times when walking around, but there were large groups of people taking pictures near the field without masks. The waiters were passing by them without saying anything. Some people were told not to go further than 2 feet into the field, but others got away with it. Their rules aren’t reinforced. The one thing that really upset me was the fact that my friends and I left our purses and summer hat on the table to take pictures of the venue. When we returned to our table, there was another party sitting there. There were more than enough vacant, large tables available right next to ours. They touched our personal belongings and placed them on top of the front entrance desk. The waitress or any other staff member could have easily told us to remove our belongings for the next party. No one had ever mentioned that there was a 90 min or 2 hour stay. I would’ve preferred for them to warn us about the time limit than to touch my things. We didn’t even get to finish our bottle of wine. I cannot believe that during covid they touched our purses and my hat and placed it on a table near the entrance where people are just walking in and out without a mask. I don’t even know whether or not they had gloves on when they touched our belongings. After over a $300 bill, I would have expected them to be more professional and sanitary.
Great service and amazing views of the vineyard while sipping and eating. A great way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommend the Rose flight.
This is a great place to visit as a couple or with kids. they have two different sides--one where they do tastings and you enjoy an exquisite view of the vineyard, and another where they welcome families and have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The wine is not cheap and the weekend family event is popular, so arrive early to get a good table or nice spot on the lawn. We come every year on our vacation to Sagaponack.
Beautiful winery but some rude staff. I feel that after everything people have endured this year, if you choose to go to a place of business with service, the service should be exceptional. We were greeted by a rude hostess who was annoyed with us when we arrived. We had reserved a curated experience. We were sat at tables and were a group of ten so we knew and expected we were sitting at two different tables. She didn’t want “overwhelm” the servers by putting us next to each other which was interesting since 30 minutes after we arrived every table was full. We realized we were not being sat where the curated experience and once WE brought that to their attention the hostess was annoyed again. She asked my sister in law to take her Bride sash off which was ridiculous as we were just looking for a beautiful day to celebrate, not looking for a rowdy time. She then said she’d bring over champagne to make the bride feel special and that did not happen. At the end of the experience (which was awesome) she came running to me to collect the bill. Then once I paid she sent someone else to hand me the receipt and didn’t come out to say thank you or even goodbye. The wine experience was lovely and food was delicious and our table host was so knowledgeable but a bit overshadowed by this rude attitude I walked into. We may not be or look like Hamptons elite but every customer and patron should be treated like they are.
Planned a few trips here this summer, but had to cancel bc of the weather. Finally made it yesterday 11/11. Rushed to get their on time. Booked the taste of fall experience. I greeted the host, it then took 20 mins for someone to take us to our table. No apologies, no please have a seat, no nothing. Awful from the start. Our “host” comes to start the tour, she was rude. Rushed us. Told us they’re busy, Told is not to take pictures until we exit. We tried to be super friendly but she was borderline weird. I love Wölffer, I’ve wanted to visit this vineyard since last year. But this experience lacked everything that I got on the north fork. I would not recommend.
Drove 1.5 hours to find out vineyard was closed on a Saturday. I saw in another post it is listed on the website but one would not think to check events before coming to a vineyard. It should be more clearly marked.
Do not use Wolffer for a wedding or rehearsal dinner!!! I booked Wolffer for my son's rehearsal dinner. My son broke his engagement and …
We had a group of 14 and there was mix up with our reservation, however Kareena did an awesome job to accomodate us and gave us very nice table. There wines are simply superb. Cabernet Franc is light yet delicious for summer. We were …
Upon arrival the hostess didn't know what's going on even though we made reservation a week in advance. Also, the table which we were seated to was completely wet and dirty and the hostess had to clean it before we could even sit down. The second thing I would like to point out is that one of the wine glasses had lipstick on it and I do not think it meets the standards with COVID-19. We as a group spent more than $500 on 6 bottle of wine for 2 hours. I think the service should have been a lot more professional, especially when with the amount of money being spent. I hope the management will pay more attention on training the staff.
My review is for the Wolffer estate stand at the local Montauk farmers market. I bought a bottle of Cabernet for $27. I later walked into a liquor store, they were selling the same bottle for $19! They totally cheated me. Will never buy again.
Sam was a fantastic waiter. Wine was great as was the white cider. Wish they served coffee
Tried the wine and cider flights with the baked brie appetizers. Beautiful location and quite busy on a Friday afternoon. The gift store was quite appealing too!
I went with a group of 9 for a taste and tour. We THOUGHT we were going to get a tour of the facility and then get a wine tasting with food included in our $500 package purchase. What we got was a simultaneous 90 minute tour/tasting that felt very rushed. However, our guide, Michelle, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We were disappointed that the food portion of our tour took place in the area where deliveries arrived and that we didn’t get sit-down service. When we asked the host if we could get a table to drink a glass he told us that we only had 35 minutes to drink. We had to flag down a server to get a drink 15 minutes after sitting down. Other than our fantastic guide, the whole situation felt rushed, customers were very rude, and and the staff looked overwhelmed. I would not pay for this package again but I would stop by the wine stand for a glass.
Gorgeous estate with a great menu! Diamond, Ed, and Eric are amazing! They took great care of us for my friends birthday! Looking forward to future visits!
