Decided to take the 2 hour drive up to my favorite winery. I was so impressed by the friendly staff. I got to taste some wine and found several new favorites. The tasting room was beautiful and the staff really knew about all the wine they had to try. Johnson Estate has some of the best wines you can find. So glad I decided to go check the place out in person.

We had exemplary service here at Johnston Estate Winery. The staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. We learned a lot about New York & the connection with this winery. They have a wide-ranging vineyard with lots of different grapes. They have a lot of really good sweet wines, if that’s your thing. They have some nice dry & semi sweet wines as well. Affordable, $6 for 6 tasting glasses. The bottles were fairly priced. Discounts for buying multiple bottles. We will be ordering some from the website in the future! Thank you.

This place is such a cool experience, plus you get to try 6 different wines for just $2. My wife and bought a bottle of Sweet Riesling, a bottle of Liebestropfchen aka “little love drops” and a bottle of Sparkling Ice wine. We are both so happy with our purchase. We had so much fun. Make sure you have a designated driver cause trust me you will have fun.

I stopped at the winery at 10:01am on a Sunday...and they were open! I sampled 6 different sweet wines, and my boyfriend sampled 6 different dry wines. We enjoyed each wine that we sampled, and bought 4 bottles. The prices were good for the wine as well! The woman who helped is was very friendly, and gave us great information on the wines that we sampled and the history of the winery itself. If you only get to go to a few wineries in the area, make sure you visit here! This one was by far both my boyfriend and I's favorite. ($2 for 6 tastings.)

This is our favorite winery in the Chatuaqua area. When ever we vacation in the area, we always stock up on their wines. We find the staff friendly and helpful. And you can taste up to 5 wines free. We love how you can see the fermenting tanks right in front of you as you shop.

We really loved our time visiting Johnson Estate Winery. The staff is very knowledgeable without being pushy. They try to help you find a wine you will like and enjoy based on your preferences. Safety seems to be at the foremost of all they do - a large sign on the front door informs you that their entire staff has been vaccinated, and they spaced us out around the bar for us to enjoy our wine sampling without encroaching on other guests.

Friendly, warm staff. Educational without being sales-y. They welcomed questions and told stories of the background of the winery. They are the oldest estate in the state, which means they do the soup to nuts process on site : growing cultivating bottling shipping etc. Must stop!

They advertise as New York's oldest estate winery, but are so much more. We have been for tastings, banquets, walks with the owner, brunch, and picking grapes. It's a unique and special place with seventeen different wine grapes grown on property and many other homemade products to offer like jams and soups. The website alone is worth the visit.

We were traveling back from Holiday Valley and decided to stop for some wine tastings on the way back to Ohio. Johnson Estate has excellent wine and service. Mary was excellent, she was extremely knowledgeable on the wine with a great sense of humor. She was eager to connect with each of us and made sure our tasting was memorable. We bought more than a couple bottles on the on the way out to enjoy. The dry Riesling was one of best I’ve had. I will be coming back in the Fall for the Great Grape Walk!

Not the experience I was hoping for. Came to the area for wine tastings and was particularly excited for this winery. The attendant was rather rude and I didn’t participate in the tasting after that since I couldn’t look past the comments she made to me. Disappointed in this woman’s professionalism.

I've visited 3 times with a small group (2-4 people) and we were treated as an inconvenience each time. Very disappointing! The wines are good, which is why I attempted the 2nd and 3rd visit. I overheard staff complaining about other customers and the woman serving us on the last visit asked what time the event ended because she had enough... I found it very unprofessional! Expect some good wines but don't expect good service.

Terrible customer service the second we walked in the door. First time visiting and definitely won’t go back. Had 2 other people joining us but the lady doing testing was not happy to want to sit as together and put us at tastings far apart from each other. Don’t plan to come here with family or friends with a party larger than 2. Also they do not discuss or describe the wines they make. Skip this one on the trail.

Amazing winery and amazing management team. We went for the Fall Foliage walk which was a self guided walk of their vineyards and ending with wine tasting session. Fred and Jennifer were extremely warm and ever smiling - right from introduction to sharing snippets of information on grapes , soil, his background and Johnson family roots. He is very passionate about what he does and loves explaining and talking about it. I cherish that experience. Our walk was well guided by a map showing different grape varieties and also ably referenced by names on the small pipes. Ability to be able taste wine grapes and appreciate the difference was something I enjoyed thoroughly. Another heartfelt gesture, I had forgot my camera bag at one of the vineyards, he offered to take us on his little buggy and helped us locate it. Thanks Fred for everything. Tasting session was amazing, sets of 6 glasses, each with a tasting quantity. Love the wines, I immediately bought some of the ones tasted. All the best to you and your team. keep up the great work.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! We were treated so wonderful the last visit even though we walked in about 20 minutes before closing. AND...3 more groups of 2 walked in after us. The guy behind the counter really really kept his cool even though he was getting requests from all around him. (Wish I could remember his name to say kudos) This is a 2 hour ride for us but we make the trip a few times a year because they have some superb wines. I buy theor PORT three bottles at a time. Don't know how someone could possibly give them a bad review.

We have stopped before and always been treated respectfully and customer service was always great. Until today, no offer to show or taste until my husband in looking around wandered where a woman thought he should not be. Then she was quick to tell him he shouldn't be there. He is hearing challenged so she had to say it several times and louder every time. We won't be back. If you have to make a mistake to get someone's attention you don't need to spend your money there.

Johnson Estate Winery = WOW! If you’re looking for an experience of a lifetime, this one is a must! For our anniversary, we emailed them ahead of time. Gave them a budget and a date/time and they coordinated a walk through the vineyard with the owner, a charcuterie board lunch by the estate pond, grape picking, and included 2 bottles of wine for us based on our favorite type. I felt like I was on the bachelorette having a secluded charcuterie board in the middle of a beautiful winery lol! If you’re looking for a romantic day trip or an engagement idea, this is your place. Outside of this special occasion, we love coming here. We don’t get here often (from the Pittsburgh region). They’ve added some lovely outdoor seating areas where you can relax and have a flight. Inside is beautiful with a rustic feel and there, you can have a full bottle of you choose. Beautiful winery! Workers are great! Owners are engaged and all about making this your time to enjoy their wine. This is a must if you’re looking for a great wine + the experience.
