The food was decent and the drinks were good but I reserved a table for the heated patio at 5pm. All descriptions listed the patio with standalone heaters and the fireplace lit up, we sit down and our heater was waiting for propane refill (which should have been filled morning of, after half hour of being sat they refilled the propane and all was good. We enjoyed the heater for about 45 minutes until another table with a “newborn” needed the heater since apparently there was no more propane, we told the waiter it was ok to take the heater bc whose going to deny a newborn heat (why would anyone bring their Newborn to outdoor dining in October anyways) when let’s keep in mind the heater was taken away from an elderly woman ... it was the most uncomfortable meal since the temperature was roughly 50 degrees. If your going to promote a heated patio make sure your tanks are filled to accommodate your entire patio. Good luck with your tourists but your locals will not be returning.

The decor is beautiful, the food was very good and our waitress was very nice. That’s what the 3 stars are for. That being said, the service was on the slow side and the other wait staff and workers seemed very inexperienced and we kept having to deal with tray holders, utensils and even a bottle crashing to the floor about 5 times throughout our dining experience which was loud and disruptive. The line to get in and get a health check was not in a good location where people leaving had to weave through and there was no order to how things were being done. Again, lots of inexperienced young people there with no direction. The weirdest and most noticeable thing though was the choice in music throughout the evening. It completely messed up the industrial red brick modern warehouse feel of the space. Usher’s entire “My Way” album, Brittney Spears/Justin Timberlake songs mixed in, some Sean Paul and Flo Rida’s song “Low” made us feel like we had stepped into a club back in the early part of the prior decade and just didn’t set the right ambience for the expensive plates. I couldn’t tell what kind of vibe they were going for but I definitely know this isn’t the right one. Need to rethink the playlist.

We had such a lovely experience here!! It was my family and I’s first time coming to City Winery on Thursday night. We were greeted by friendly hostesses and brought to our table outside on the patio. The indoor decor and outdoor ambience was lovely. Our server, Michael, was wonderful and funny. The food was also fantastic! We had the ancho salmon, crispy chicken sandwich, and impossible burger. It was nice that there are vegan and gluten free options because my dad is on a very limited diet. The food came out fast and we were in no way rushed to leave the table. On our way out, we met a manager, Tom, who couldn’t have been nicer. He made it a point to pull us aside and really give us his full attention which was awesome. Today we decided to come for brunch.. Once again a great experience. I had made a reservation for 4, but the rest of my party was late so it was only 2 of us at first. Our waitress, I believe her name was Jarissa (sorry if that is wrong), was also great. We had the risotto balls, eggs benedict, and almond french toast! Everything was to die for. Right away, the manager Tom greeted us and welcomed us back. Michael made it a point to come over to our table and say hi. We really felt so welcomed there. The rest of my party came at 3:15 when we had a reservation at 1:15, and was still served and we were never rushed. We had such a nice time here once again, and we cannot wait to come back. It’s so nice to have a place like this in a Montgomery!

Wow! Nice place, large and great outdoor lawn concert venue :)

Place was beautiful amd peaceful. I wish I could have stayed an extra day. Super fast in responding to questions about location and very informative in helping me on a last minute stay. I believe the room is called the "winemaker's room"? Definitely a neat little spot!

Chauvelle Latty

Very nice ambiance, friendly, kind and courteous staff. Was disappointed at first about what I ordered but ut turned out to be pretty good. Will definitely visit again. P.S. The rosemary fries is just reg. Fries sprinkled with rosemary.

Sarah Parker

Requiring vaccinations for outdoor concerts?! Well, my family will never be going here again.

What a beautiful Winery ! We weren’t able to spend much time here because we were on a time crunch but it was lovely! They’re very accommodating for large groups & also packed everything we ordered so we could walk and talk out on a Picnic table in the field. Very friendly, accommodating & attentive staff. Lovely grounds ! Delicious wine & very beautiful decor. Highly recommend ! Will certainly be back !

Service was very slow, price is high, food was okay. Cool atmosphere, but not worth the price.

More like a 3.5. Please shell out the $15/month for no ads on Spotify or whatever streaming service you are using so we don't have to hear ads during dinner. Kind of killed the vibe.

Absolutely beautiful place! Our hostess, Zoey was so kind and sweet! The atmosphere was wonderful and the food/wine was amazing. We also had a great server (Nick)! Highly recommend visiting!

Amaury Martinez

Great venue in our current home town. The service was excellent and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. Food was very tasty and adequately priced. It's not just a winery, which the Rose' was excellent, they have a full bar with top shelf liqour. Ask for Kyleigh as your server.

First of all, let me say this place is gorgeous. It is massive, with plenty of indoor rooms and multiple outdoor patios to allow for social distancing. We Extraordinary high ceilings and and just a very cool vibe. I really, really wanted to like this place. I wanted to like it so much we tried it twice. The first time, the service was slow and by the time our food arrived, 3 out of the 4 dishes were COLD. Not warm, cold. They had definitely been sitting out for quite some time. I figures, maybe it was a fluke, so we tried it again. I even politely told them that this was our second time here and that the first time wasn't the best experience. Our reservation was fro 8:45. We didn't even get our DRINKS until 9:45. We ordered an appetizer, it came WITH our meals at 10:20. The food was warmer than last time - but still not hot. I think the place is just disastrously mismanaged. I think they have too much room for seating and not enough people in the kitchen. There is no "flow" to the staff at all - however I will say that our waiter was very nice - I just don't think management taught them how to do their job. If you want to go to this place for a glass of wine and maybe an appetizer, that might be ok, but I would stay away for dinner until there is a big "Under New Management" sign on the website. So disappointing. :-(

First experience at City Winery Hudson Valley was great! It was already dark when we got there but lived the place and the decor. We tried wine by the glass but were not so impressed. I would like to go back to have food which looked delicious.

Been to this gem twice now and I can’t even begin to explain how floored I have been both times. Not only by how gorgeous this place is but by the hospitality, most importantly. The last time I was there I was celebrating my boyfriends parents birthdays. It was top notch service from beginning to end. Kayla, the Beverage Director is so insanely knowledgeable about every single wine and beverage on that menu. She recommended drinks based on our preferences and she was SPOT ON. Michael our server was super attentive and helpful the entire time. Food was amazing and has been both times we went. You can tell the Chef knows his stuff! I’ve tried almost everything on the menu at this point and it’s all DELICIOUS. The attention to detail is outstanding and to be recognized. It’s not often you go to a restaurant and see everymanager walking around checking to make sure everything is up to high standard. I even saw the Chef come out and look around to make sure everyone was enjoying his food. What a breathe of fresh air. This is a high recommend for me to anyone who is seeking to try a new spot, with amazing food, staff and scenery. I will be coming back here frequently.

I would like to give a higher rating but based on our first and recent visit in November there were a couple of issues that I feel should be addressed - service and food/beverages were great - the parking lot and stairs leading to the entryway were very dark, not enough lighting, especially with the time change. The staff had started a fire in the fireplace, the dining room and adjacent room were visibly filled with smoke, maybe due to inexperience in using the fireplace, the female employee did say to us that she was not use to burning fires inside. Needless to say it was very unpleasant to the point that our eyes were burning and we had to ask if we could move to a table outside. Our request was not a problem and the outdoor dining facility was pleasant until it started raining, I kid you not, we then had to be moved back inside where ceiling fans were turned on and windows opened. I can't imagine having all the clothing apparel that was for purchase in the gift shop still appealing now that it was exposed to and smelled of smoke as well as our own clothing. With the rain and limited outdoor lighting, exiting and returning to our vehicles, smelling of smoke, was a bit of a challenge and unpleasant. I would like to return perhaps in the Spring when most of these issues we encountered shouldn't be a problem and I can upgrade my rating.

City Winery HV is absolutely gorgeous. The Wine, Food and Staff were amazing. I highly recommend going here. You will not be disappointed!!

Tourist trap! $21.00 for a tiny cup of wine plus tax but they don't give change and round up the tax, basically they're collecting 10% tax. $20.00 to rent 2 chairs plus tax which they say is $1.60 yet they charge $2.00 tax, again 10%..this is wrong and the bbb as well as the Orange County chamber of commerce will be contacted Monday morning. It's wrong to take advantage of people and because of this I definitely don't recommend this place. There are plenty of other wineries in the Hudson Valley that don't screw their patrons, this isn't NYC

George Eisenberger

My wife and I stopped by this venue and thought we’d check out this branch of the restaurant. Beautiful building and site. It was around 5pm and there were very few customers inside and plenty of tables vacant outdoors. My wife did not feel comfortable dining indoors due to Covid so we asked to be seated outdoors. The staff refused to seat for some unexplainable reason. I guess they are flush and don’t need customers. Hard to fathom.

Phil Conigliaro

I went in with no expectations, but I found the food tasty and the atmosphere pleasant, distancing is not a problem here are the place is enormous.

Brittney Goldstein

We have been to City Winery several times and always have a great experience. Their entire staff, from hostesses to food runners to servers to bartenders have been extremely friendly and attentive. Also, A+ for both food & bevs!

Javier Castellote

I really enjoyed this place they turned an old factory into a modern beautiful space. It is filled with light and good wines. Looking forward to coming back.

Julie Tremblay

Setting, service and food were five stars. Wines however (husband and I shared 2 different flights) were horrendous. We will be back for food and cocktails and beers.

Danny Boyer

Nice space and concept, but poor execution. As a wine professional myself, I was very excited when I saw the photos of the location, but ultimately, I was let down by the wines and quality of service.

Dennis Brown

My wife and I ate here with our son and his wife and their one month old baby. The ambiance was great, the food delicious and the staff was great. Looking forward to our next visit.

Cameron Conrad

Incredible service and extraordinary wine, the building is teeming with history and they preserved so much of what used to be Crabtree Mills. History aside, the event spaces and hospitality they provide are unparalleled in the region and are truly a gem, a harbinger of Montgomery and all of Orange County NY’s renaissance. I cannot express enough how much of a leisurely and enjoyable time you will have here! The concerts are surprisingly fun and inexpensive for an outdoor setting and they are always accommodating on hot days. This is your sign!!! Go now!!

Bob Cairns

Finally made it to City Winery! We went for the Fall cocktail class and had a great time. We then sat at the bar and ate. For was pretty good! Staff was awesome. The building is amazing. Def going back.

Janine Martinez

We waited weeks to visit this establishment and it was a HUGE disappointment! Upon arriving we were told that that kitchen was closing soon and that we needed to quickly order, mind you it was 2pm and there was no mention of this on the website. We ordered flights and were told to “follow the menu for a description of the wines. Lastly, we specifically made in indoors reservation because, well it’s summer and we quickly found out that there is no AC in this restaurant. Not to mention that all the doors to the patio are wide open so we were over run with flies! I literally had to swat them away every 5 seconds of our time there. I finally asked if I could pack up my food to take home because the bugs were such a nuisance. This was worst dining experience I’ve had in a very long time and I’m truly bummed because we were really looking forward to this experience. I would NOT recommend this restaurant/winery to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere!

Could have been a decent lunch, but the service left much to desire. It took them 20 minutes to bring our drinks, only to be told that they were not sure if they were diet or regular sodas. We had to wait around 40 minutes for a couple of burgers and chicken sandwiches. We asked for mayonnaise and it was brought towards the end of our meal. Server was friendly, but completely lost. Quality of food is ok. Place is cute, just come prepared knowing that you will not be getting good service.

Great wine, we would love to have an actual dinner but our cheese and meat plate was delicious

Dave Lewis

Bob Fyke

Disappointing. The dining room was loud, as voices echoed off the many hard surfaces. Music was hard to hear. Temperature was warm and it was sticky, in the dining room. The service was polite and friendy, but mostly oblivious to the needs of the table, until it was bought to their attention. Our wine glasses were empty for quite a while, when we were eating, before we could get their attention. I expected more from a restaurant with so much history in Manhattan. Food was good and wines were interesting, but the venue and service overshadowed everything.

Roman

This place was good when it first opened but now service is always missing the mark and food just isn’t worth the city prices they charge. I also enrolled in the monthly membership during summer but covid made it difficult to go out. When I last went there I asked them to cancel membership in March since I never get chance to stop by anymore, they told me they’d take care of it. I’m still being charged and don’t even use the service. Disappointed but not surprised them trying to rip off locals while bringing in people from city and overcharging them too.

Wine was good but pricey. Food was barely a meal. No taste, limited menu.

A newer addition to our area, City Winery has quickly become a favorite spot for all ages. With the buildings history, industrial vibe, outdoor spaces to die for, cuisine, and of course the wine, it ticks off all the boxes. With the promise of live music when times allow, this is a must stop for visitors and locals alike.

Richard Jackson

Rich Herman

Nice venue ...good music and wine great surroundings food was average but my first visit...will go back worth a trip

Kevin Delmonico

Overall the food was ok. The service was slow and inattentive. They sat us on a gorgeous deck with a great view, but no lights so when the sun went down it was dark. The wine list is mostly not their wine which is disappointing when you go to a winery and want to spend money locally. The price was expensive for the bad service and poor selection. There are plenty of other local restaurants and and real wineries that serve their own wine and delicious food at a reasonable price, so we will not be going back.

Shelby Conklin

Nice ambience. The food and wine were good; however, not many options.

The atmosphere of the restored factory is light and very well done. The food was good and the wine fantastic. Our server, Michael, could not have been better.

Sure, opening night jitters are a thing, but the complete lack of preparation is unmistakable. We came to enjoy a pizza and a couple of glasses of wine on a nice night in a nice new setting; a great night out after months of quarantine. Right off the bat, our waiter had no idea about any of the menu items, other than starting our interaction by saying “no pizza” before I had a chance to order. Okay, no problem, I deflected to the cheese and charcuterie board, a $30 menu item; at a nice place like this, surely it would be worth it! The waiter had to copy it off of the menu as though it was the first time he was hearing those words spoken. While placing our wine on our table, our waiter accidentally put his watch strap into one of our water glasses, said “oops,” yet did not even offer to replace it; as if it should be negotiable in the first place, never mind during a pandemic! Our order arrived in the form of a paper plate topped with canned vegetables, low-quality lunch meat, and a decent slice of cheese amongst two shop-rite brand cheeses. This is a $30 order. Once we had picked out the the edible bits and received the check, we payed using the super useful contactless payment feature on the receipt. Our waiter said he knew nothing about it and didn’t believe that we had paid. He then attempted to take my phone to show the manager (again, touching during a pandemic isn’t ideal), which we would not allow. He returned without the manager shortly after, confirming we had paid and that was that. I will say that while the waiter did not do a lot right, it is not at all his fault and I hope that he receives better training moving forward. He seemed like a good person.

Great service.. our bartender let us taste different wines.. the cabernet was very good.. I got the Hangover Burger unfortunately the burger was dry and Texas toast was burnt. Not sure I would eat there again, but will go back for a tour and tastings. Overall a nice place to spend the afternoon.

Just had the most incredible brunch at City Winery Hudson Valley. The "Create-Your-Own" table-side mimosas were fabulous, as was the French Toast. Our server, Amy, was so kind and attentive to our every whim. I plan on making brunch here a regular occurrence. Great food, great drinks, great service, great location. If you haven't visited this place yet, do yourself a favor and GO!

Love this place! It is such a beautiful venue and was the perfect setting for a bridal shower brunch. We had a party of 7 and were seated outside on the patio on a beautiful day (the weather had been horrible for a week until this day) and the heavens opened up for us and we were able to provide her with a beautiful brunch. The only downside was our table had one umbrella over it and only covered like 2 people at our table and I happened to be the one sitting directly in the sun catching a mean tan. Thankfully our server Brandon and his trainee were gracious enough to move an umbrella over form one of the other tables and saved me from cooking out there too long. Since we were at a winery, of course we sampled some wine. We chose a flight that had 4 different wines, rose of syrah, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, and cabernet sauvignon. The rose and sauvignon blanc were my favorites since I prefer white wines over reds. My food was an impossible burger, it was good but surprisingly came dry as a bone, no sauce or any ketchup on it or next to it so we had to ask for that. Once it had it, then it was great. The side salad that came with it was fresh but had very little dressing on it. The charcutier board of cheese looked great, Im not sure what type of cheese was on it but the cauliflower was delicious, and tasted like it was pickled. I will definitely go back there for another event soon.

A beautiful restaurant that had once been a yarn factory. Some very nice wine on tap and excellent food. I had the salmon which was very very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Make sure you have a reservation. Some very large rooms are available for catering once this pandemic passes.

Reminded me of having dinner at the “winery” at Disneyland. Definitely worth going for the vibe. Food was good but not remarkable. Wine was good but pours felt quite small. (Probably poured from a machine they all felt so exact)

Service was great! Gave us a shaded seating when asked and server Megan was great!! Food was not bad. Enjoyed a wonderful summer day with a breeze in my face and with a good chilled wine!! Excellent way to spend the Father's Day!!

Eric MacKrell

Beautiful venue but very expensive. Hudson Valley is wine country where there are many beautiful wineries and bottles cost between $10 and $20. Bottles of wine at City Winery are $40 and up. Wood fired pizzas for one are $16. If you don't mind spending the cash, it is a nice place to spend some time.

Nikole U (MaKeupByNiKole)

Loved this place BUT... service and food wasn’t great. My order came out wrong , the waitress was some what nice about it. When I went to pay, she charged me a extra plate because I complained about my order being wrong?? As if it was my fault . She also charged me double on my appetizer, I normally don’t write negative reviews , but this place upset me. Maybe she felt we were drinking and wouldn’t notice a extra $35 dollars?!? I was complaining to my friend I was with, the waitress most likely over heard, came over and explained exactly what she forgot to take off the bill. Go here but be aware they might screw you.

Nancy Green

I have been to City Winery a few times and always had a wonderful time so I decided to make a reservation for my husband and I in Valentine's Day. What a mistake!! It started off good until we sat down. First of all we waited a while for our waitress to come . Ok, we said , it's Valentine's Day. We got our drinks and unfortunately I accidentally spilled mine. We had to call over someone to clean up the wet table. When the bus boy came over, I was embarrassed and said in a joking way that I would clean it up. Well... He said ok and left the dirty rag on the table and walked away.! Are you kidding me???? I ended up cleaning up the table . When the waitress came over ,and I told her she said the manager is taking bets who the bus boy was. I ordered another drink , never got it because the waitress forgot about it. I can give anyone who goes there a suggestion- be prepared to be ignored and bring a clean rag.

Our waitress and the staff was very accommodating for our party of 11. The food was great and SUPER FRESH! Melissa was a great waitress and the manager was great as well. Asked for extra pickles d got them ASAP! Deff recommend!

This place is a winery in the same way that a gas station is a winery, it sells wine. Much like the gas station, you’ll be given the wine by an 18 year old who has no idea what they are talking about. The place is nice and the food is fairly decent, but there’s no air conditioning and the staff has no idea what they are serving. We were covered in flies the whole time we were there and the only thing the server and the GM could think to do is make jokes about the situation. Another day late, dollar short overpriced city concept that makes no sense in the Hudson Valley at all.

Joseph Smith

Not worth the price. Very strict requirements and pricey. Not friendly.

Jillian Decker

Came here for dinner with a few of my girlfriends. We were greeted by a super friendly hosts who took our temperature and asked a few questions which made me feel very comfortable about how serious they’re taking Covid. I had the short rib and a glass of Petite Sirah for dinner, it was a great recommendation from our awesome server! Price was on point for the area and quality. Can’t wait to come back here again, will definitely recommend City Winery!

This is a beautiful place. Tastefully done in every respect. The drinks were strong as they should be. The charcuterie was fantastic. The beer selection was delicious. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience here. We'd been waiting for the opening and without a delay we were able to get a table on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for lunch. Our server was very friendly and attentive, food was delicious and portions were generous and reflective of the prices. We shared 2 items and enjoyed their house made wine and fresh craft cocktails in this gorgeously restored historic establishment. We will definitely be visiting again and look forward to seeing City Winery when it can be open at its full potential!

Being a vendor in this industry I get to see what goes on behind the scenes at these venues you pay a fortune for. I highly DO NOT recommend City Winery. Will be the biggest regret of your wedding.

We went last Sunday for brunch. Atmosphere was gorgeous but everything else missed the mark. Made reservation for 20, we were told bc of covid it would be 2 tables of 10. Ok, that’s fine. We had 3 tables of six, which didn’t really work. Next, no one seemed to know what was going on, bringing drinks to wrong people and wrong table. We asked for more water— we were told “we’re out of water pitchers”. After waiting 2 hours for food with little kids I asked if it would be coming soon, the waitress replied “yeah well, we have over 200 people coming today, so....” and walked away. When food finally arrived, asked for syrup for my sons French toast, and she rolled her eyes. Wouldn’t have any desire to return. One star.

tom bars

Ate and drank twice and had 2 great experiences. Not sure about the negative comments. We were greeted by a wonderful young teenaged boy who brought us to our table. Received our menus and ordered drinks. We were never rushed at all. We sat and sipped our drinks and after some time ordered. Please folks, If you're going out to eat, please don't expect fast food and be ready to eat & leave in 45 minutes! Restaurants will never satisfy that type of customer or mindset! Food was great and never rushed and place was jumping. We were even given complimentary drinks. Needs a good rock band for the upbeat atmosphere! Pm me.

Laura Stark

I brought my husband here on Father's day. We really enjoyed it! The staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was really nice....full of history. The Marguerita pizza we ordered was delicious and the wine and beer super refreshing on such a hot day. We will definitely be back!

Food and venue were very good but, staff disorganized. Long wait to be seated even with reservation and then long wait to have order taken.... and drinks arrived long after our brunch meals.

Tourist trap. I never write reviews but this needs to be said. The venue is fantastic. Perfect country rustic setting. Then stop right there because that is it. Food is terrible. Beef short ribs were dry. Bartender could care less about us and we were two of 3 groups. We moved our reservation outside after kid Louie at the front told me outside dining was booked up for the evening. Even after showing him online there were tables he said "duh"....so we sat inside for an appetizer while I booked my online reservation for outside dining because when you call you cannot get a person. Job done, visited Louie who had egg on his face but no attempt to wipe it off with an apology. We sat outside and had a terrible meal. This place is a chain and they need to do way better with this beautiful location!

I made a reservation in June for next Saturday, August 28th for 7 for a bachelorette party. I just received a phone call (on August 8th, 1 week and 1 day before the reservation) stating that my reservation has been canceled. The girl didn't give an explanation (until I asked, to which she replied "we have a private event, we're not open to the public") or offer any kind of apology. It's very disappointing that I now have to figure out new plans for an important event the week before, when I could've been informed of this with more notice. Very rude and unprofessional.

The space is gorgeous, staff courteous and professional, and the food and wine was delicious. I attended a private work function and was very impressive

Very authentic. You can see the details.

Very good food. Menu is slightly limited but overall great friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere

Business owner is terrible, trying to alienate his fellow townspeople. Not a way to run a business and not a business that should be welcomed into the community.

Lisa M

Food is excellent ...ambiance is lovely and well appointed ....this is my third visit ...tried the Sunday brunch ...all good ...service could have been better ...3 staffers standing by entrance leaning on glass doing little...waitresses seemed to be working, but not hustling ..also limited wait staff....(busboys were hustling) no one was asked for a second cocktail.....3x asked for water and ice... but, overall staff very very pleasant.....needs a manager to walk around to see what is needed. Definitely will go back ...first and second visit outstanding ...

Beautiful grounds a bit of a scene but doesn’t look like there is much around to compete. Our party of 10 was seated so far from everything we felt like we were on time out - the menu is basic at best but the food is not worth trying: the ceviche has no flavor, all the cuts of meats were overdone and the « flat bread » was both soggy and hard (I guess that is hard to achieve) the wine we had was good but overpriced - the service is slow, the staff is trying but definitely not professionally trained. We were seated late because our table wasn’t ready but were told we had only 90mins to eat as they booked the space at 4pm. It should have been plenty of time but the service was so bad and slow we barely made it, our food didn’t come all together, we had to get up twice to get plates and any attention. We all left disappointed and hungry for a good meal.

AMAZING AMAZING ! The Hudson valley needed an establishment like this. Over the weekend I had the most memorable experience. I especially want to commend the manager KAYLA for her expertise in pairing me with a signature wine . She is a great asset to City Winery. I can’t wait to go back! ~Dez

Absolutely loved our great server Nicole! She was accommodating, kind, and attentive. I went for restaurant week and the food was delicious; the ambiance was relaxing. It was my first time going and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely beautiful venue, live music in the background, great food. I just want to say our server at the restaurant, Josh, was one of the best servers I’ve ever had. He was remarkably kind and efficient, and he should definitely be recognized for his exemplary customer service.

Great staff, food, and wine. The atmosphere was great. My only disappointment was that I felt that my party was rushed to leave after we finished our meal. We were asked twice if we were ready to leave because they wanted to use the table for another reservation which was fine, however they could have asked if we wanted to take our group to another area, ( group of 5 ladies) like to the tasting/bar area or maybe outside where we could have purchased another bottle of wine and enjoyed the evening more.

Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. The chicken sandwich was the best my son has ever had and the ketchup is amazing!!! Would love to give this place more than 5 stars!

City Wine HV is really beautiful and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Our server was very sweet. They were a little slow and a few things were missing from our dinner, but given that they had only been open for a week, we were not bothered by this at all. We went last Saturday for our first outing since COVID. It was comforting that they took our temperature and asked questions about our contact with COVID. However, when we got up to our table it was still dirty. So the hostess apologized and went to get something to clean it with. The problem was that it was a dry rag and she just cleaned off the crumbs. The table was not sanitized. Next to us was a table of four people. When they left, staff cleared the table and put a candle on it, but no one ever wiped the table down. They then sat for more people at that dirty table. The table to the other side of us had two ladies sitting at it and when I left, that table was cleared and never wiped down either. They put a candle on it for the next people to be seated. Thankfully, nobody else sat there while we were there. Overall we enjoyed our date night and our first outing since everything has been reopening. Given this COVID pandemic that the whole world has been dealing with, it was very unsettling how many tables had not been sanitized. After this experience, we decided that maybe it’s too soon to be going out to eat yet. Not sure if we will return to dine there again.

We had dinner here in July for our anniversary and it was fabulous. My husband had the short ribs and I had the scallops. The scallops were seared to perfection. I enjoyed a margarita while my husband had a flight of whites. We had to take our peach cobbler with us because we were stuffed. We came again for Brunch and the food was beyond amazing. I had a Bloody Mary with charcuterie which was delicious. My husband ordered the CW breakfast and I had the short rib hash. We shared the mushroom and goat cheese risotto balls.. Once again the food was perfect and we left stuffed! The coffee is great and piping hot. We cannot recommend City Winery strongly enough! Totally in love with this eatery. And the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. A hundred stars ????

Lori Messina

Fantastic!! Great atmosphere, great food, great service and superior wine list... Plus, beer, music and cocktails! I can only imagine how great it must be when there is live music!

Phil DeGennaro

Wish they had a bigger menu.

Stephen Henke

Had a wonderful experience here over the summer. The owner was kind, and the restaurant did a great job of catering to my worries about COVID (this was the only place I dined out to all last summer). The food was fantastic, the staff was nice and we really enjoyed our dinner on the patio. Would highly recommend.

Will Taylor

Bad service, bad atmosphere, bad management, overpriced drinks and worst of all bad food. ????????‍♂️ Go somewhere else.

Kathrene Barker

What a great addition to the Hudson Valley! Beautiful converted factory with the perfect ambience for a cozy evening and Covid guidelines are strictly adhered to. Great variety of food for all dietary needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free). Portions are appropriately sized and dishes are packed with flavor. They have a wide variety of wines in addition to other spirits and beers if you are not a wine drinker. Their hot chocolate tray is a perfect ending to share. Though they are a bit pricier than others they are definitely worth the money.

I am very disappointed. We made reservation for saturday night for our 40 wedding anniversary. We got seated at bar table height seating in front of building. With "amazing" views of parkinglot and arriving guest's. It was supposed to be a romantic dinner. But it was everything but that. We skipped dinner and just ordered 2 flights and appetizers. I was looking forward to the steak and shortribs. It was so uncomfortable and unromatic looking at other guests arriving and cars parked and pick up diners. Never again!!! I am not sure why we had to sit in front of building since all other guests after our arrival went inside and no other guest got seated in "parkinglot" view greeting area. Soo disappointed.

Sierra Holik

I can't say enough great things about City Winery and Emily!! We had a 30 person lunch reception here after our wedding. Emily was SO friendly from the first inquiry about the event, to visiting the location, to planning every little detail of the event! She was EXTREMELY accommodating to make any request we had possible - from menu items, to event layout, to playlist - everything! On the day of the event, Emily had decorated the space EXACTLY how I had envisioned it. The staff was EXTREMELY polite and professional - you never had to ask for more wine (someone was refilling your glass as soon as it was less than half full), they never rushed you throughout each course, and Alexis was never too far away to help with absolutely anything!! Every single one of our guests were extremely impressed by how beautiful the space was and how helpful the staff were! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS and the presentation was gorgeous! The wine is really great, and the venue is beautiful. I can't recommend City Winery enough - for any event, gathering, or even just a lunch/dinner.

Poor service. Limited menu.

Went to visit City Winery last week and was absolutely blown away from the minute I pulled into the parking lot. We were greeted with friendly service from the beginning. The Pizza and drinks were amazing and it’s great to see them supporting locally sourced food. The wine is made right in the building and is as fresh and tasty as you can get. Special shoutout to the Beverage Director Kayla for taking the time out to thoroughly discuss each wine and beer to help me pick which one I liked best???????? Highly recommend, will be back for sure

Great atmosphere gorgeous place.... The service was absolutely horrific, waited 20 minutes after being skipped 3 times while waiting. Got sat in a table in the corner of a large room, was told we would be moved outside in a couple minutes. 2 groups got brought outside we had one square table for 3 people never moved us. After being seated at 754 we weren’t asked if we even wanted a drink until 828 and I had to get up and get someone to do that. Other tables that were in this large room were waited on and served food and drinks before we got waited on. The group that got sat in our seats 10 minutes after we got there outside were waited on and served drinks before we even got a waiter. After we were got a waiter and ordered it was another 20 minutes of waiting for the drinks to come out. I was told “the bar was busy” as I watched other tables get served that ordered drinks after us. -we waited 25 minutes to be sat after being skipped by multiple groups -48 minutes between being sat and getting our drinks. I’m not sure if it was because my group of 3 had two black people in it or if the service is always this bad for just one single group but either way I won’t be going back here.

Very nicely renovated defunct woolen mill with artifacts from the mill tastefully displayed, a golden glow of the refinished hardwood floors exuding warmth throughout. Kudos to City Winery and Michael Dorf for paying homage to the building’s, and also, to New England’s industrial past by creating this warm place for wining, dining, and music.

L C

I like the decor and look of the restaurant. Staff was friendly and attentive, food and drinks were ok.

Decided to take the drive to City Winery based on the Best of the Hudson Valley article we read. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what we had hoped for. We didn’t have reservations, so couldn’t sit outside, but that was our own fault. We were there on a Sunday at lunch, so their brunch menu was a bit more limited. They had only a few gluten free choices, but after asking about whether the fryer was used for more than just fries, the server seemed put out at having to find out and informed us that it was a shared fryer, so the fries only for people who weren’t sensitive (maybe don’t put gluten free on the menu then?). That left us with two gf choices. We ended up ordering the breakfast without toast (we weren’t offered any sub for the toast). The food took a while, we didn’t see much of our server again, and the food came out cold. Since we didn’t see our server again, the bartender was nice enough to take our wine flight orders. The wines were really disappointing. Normally, I like most reds, but none of the three of us liked anything except the Sauvignon Blanc. The location is quite lovely, but the food, service and wine were all a massive disappointment.

Absolutely the worst experience ever! It’s Sunday Brunch and we were the 1st seating and you are already out of an item on your menu? Seriously? So I ordered my 2nd choice Eggs Benedict and specifically asked the waitress to make sure that the yolk was solid and not runny. Yeah that didn’t happen! Had to send it back and then 20 minutes later still no food!!! And my bf has already finished his breakfast...so I said just give us the check...should have been comped for the entire check as now I’m starving and have to go to Dunkin Donuts for a bagel!!!

Way Overpriced Wines weren’t that good - meaning quality and taste & I’m 50 years old & have visited over 100 wineries in this country This is the first & only place that didn’t give free wine glasses with a tasting ?!

Had a fabulous time! Tried the flights and several plates to share. Can't wait to go back.

What a fabulous job they did incorporating the old knitting Mill and a lot if it's machinery with new use. Truly the industrial look but very clean and beautifully done. We got seated in a lovely outside dining area but then moved inside because it started to rain. The staff couldn't be any nicer and the food was really good. They had a few choices of nice mixer drinks...at NYC prices, like $13 & $14 each. 3 of us shared 3 appetizers and it was plenty. The Barrata flat bread & Kung Pow Cauliflower were my favorites. The mushroom rice balls were just o.k. Our waiter was Michael. He was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the building. He was also very personable and definitely added to the fun experience. I can't wait to go back to see live music there!! 5 star rating from me!

I have to say I have been to City Winery in Montgomery a few times. Honestly the 1st time was enough for me. The wine is horrible - I don’t know anyone that likes it. I had to stick with vodka. The service, - while the wait staff is very nice, I could have ordered at least 2 more drinks if they ever came back to the table before showing up with the check. Been there, moving on.

Beautiful place, great service, great food choices

Despite some mixed reviews, I was very pleased. The service was excellent.... attentive and fast. All of the dishes I ordered were great.... tasty, large portions amd served hot. The wines were all surprisingly wonderful. NY does not usually produce great wine, but everything here was delicious. I bought 2 bottles of a certain red wine. I look forward to going back. Beautiful building and outdoor patio too.

City Winery did a real good job saving and restoring a factory in Montgomery NY. Then they staffed it well and serve great wines and a good selection of food. It was our first time there and we intend to return.

Elizabeth Gregorek

Food was good. We had reservations for two. We were seated very near to other guests. Would have been nice to be away by ourselves. And away from the sun too. There was plenty of room inside. ..

Brian Wych

Nice atmosphere, had a delay in service (we were seated in an out of the way inside table), but were offered some wine as compensation. Overall good time
