I like Barnstormer, but don't love. There are some really excellent wines, but not all of them quite meet that quality standard. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's not in my top 10 for the area, but still good.

They have a good selection of dry wines, especially reds. We ended up with a bottle of the merlot, which has an interesting spicy aroma. We came in about 15 minutes before they closed, and they didn't try to rush us or anything. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and there was a cat roaming the store.The tasting room is nicely appointed. A little on the pricier side.

My group absolutely enjoyed our visit here! The wine was delicious and the service was great. We had a group of seven so we had to reserve our tasting. When we got there they were already set up and ready for us. They had these neat wine lists printed for our group with my name on them. I loved the personal touch! I am personally not a fan of New York reds but I think they had some of the best reds we tried that day. I did buy a bottle of chardonnay that I found quite pleasant. They also had a few unique cheese board and cutting boards that you could buy.

Wonderful experience! The wines were fantastic, excellent selection of dry whites. Get a tasting with Art, who does a great job describing the wines, providing recommendations, and making you feel welcome. They did an excellent job with COVID practices. I love the vintage airplane theme and tie in with the ownership family history. Artwork is also a great touch. Highly recommend! Favorites were the semi-dry Riesling and Port.

It was our first time trying wine tasting. It was surprisingly pleasant. We had the sweet flight. The first wine on the list was nice. If you like sweet wine, all of them would be worth trying. Reservation is recommended.

we found the winery to be a very cool looking place. The atmosphere was great and the service was very good. The issue we had was with the owner Scott. We, and another couple, tried to ask him a couple of questions. He made us feel like we were bothering him and he didn't have the time for us. My wife called him an arrogant pr**ck. That pretty much describes him too. This would have been 4-5 stars otherwise.

This place was great. The staff was clearly passionate about the wines they serve. We even got an extra tasting added to out flight. Not the most scenic place on our wine tour. But definitly kind and helpful. We loved the un-okaed Chardonnay and the semi-dry Reisling. A great stop on this side of the lake.

Barnstormer Winery tasting room is built into an old barn, and they did an amazing job on the tasting room. Their deck faces the road, which is fine because they don't have a great view of the valley and lake. They let you choose the five wines you want to taste which is excellent because I got to taste all four dry reds and the port-style wine. We were treated to some excellent wines with great information from the tasting room staff. We also got a few bonus tastings to compare different years of the same varietals which was awesome!

Summary: Nice cozy tasting room with some of our favorite wines of our trip! Definitely should stop by here. Wine: Very tasty wines! We didn’t try one that we didn’t like. The only place we visited that was careful not to mix a fresh tasting pour with the dregs of the last taste, which was nice. Ambiance/View: Very quaint and comfy tasting room! Not much of a view from the inside, but the tasting room itself is beautiful and worth the visit. I will say that the tasting room was a bit small and would get very crowded very quickly. Education: The tasting staff member who helped us, Tara, was super friendly and knowledgeable! Knew plenty about the winery and the wines served and definitely improved our experience.

Well I spent a week here one day ..... At least that is what it felt like ... the wine is not bad but the server went on for at least 5 minutes between every tasting :( This was not what I am used to and seemed Very Slow and frustrating :( otherwise cool place and airplane theme.

This is a relatively newcomer to the Finger Lakes Wine Country scene -- but it produces a very solid red (along with some nice dry whites). Great boutique operation, in a rustic and welcoming barn space.

My fiancé and I absolutely loved this winery. We stopped in on a whim on our motorcycle trip and had the best charcuterie board. We still talk about it regularly… we definitely hope to make it back to Barnstormer again when we get back up to the area. Wine was also great and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

The wine was good, service not so much (4 stars for wine, 1 star for service, balances out at 2 stars). We were on a wine tour and were chastised for not 'being on time.' There weren't many people in the place when we came by. Server didn't give us much time, and seemed more concerned with her other priorities. Despite the good reds, I wouldn't go back. There are too many other good wineries with great service to spend your time and money and wind up feeling like a nuisance.

Kind, friendly service. Reservation highly recommended, although you can get lucky on a walk-in. They have a friendly orange barn cat that greets you as you come in. They have a wide variety of wines grown locally.

This was our first group trip to the finger lakes and we started off with the Barnstormer, let me tell you it ruined every other winery experience we had. No other winery compared to the friendliness, expertise, good vibes, and great company that we had with Art and the team at Barnstormer. Every other place we went to, we immediately compared it to Barnstormer. I would happily come back to the team at Barnstormer, even if it means driving the 4 hours each way!

I was extremely disappointed in the service we received for our tasting. The lady pouring our wine only explained the first wine to us and tried to rush us out the door. I tend to never write reviews, but I was so disappointed I would never go back. Their semi-dry Riesling is okay, but I highly recommend other wineries in the area.

Recently visited for a bachelorette - party of 10. It was a beautiful day and we sat in the new outdoor cabanas. Scott and his team couldn’t have been more accommodating and genuine. We had a lot of questions about the wine, the charcuterie, and the history of the venue. It was clear that there is a lot of passion behind the creation of this winery, and we were so pleased to be part of it. The tomato oil can be purchased inside and is a MUST for humans of all ages who enjoy grilled cheese. Thank you for spoiling our bride!

Terrible service. My wife and I came in to see if we could do a tasting. The individual responsible for helping us (didnt catch her name but had tattoos all over her arms and body) brought us to the other room, grabbed some crakers and couple menus, and made it look as though we were going to be standing at a barrel. However she was grabbing them for someone else and as my wife asked if we could take the masks off she told us no and turned to help other customers. She was then very rude in how she addressed us. We decided it was best we just leave and head to a different winery. My wife and I are avid wine drinkers and our friends and family come down to Seneca Lake 5 to 6 times a year with coworkers, friends and family and never have we been treated so poorly. We will definitely not be back and will definitely be spreading the word on how we were treated so terribly. I would not recommend Barnstormers.

Decent wine but poor service. We were a group of 8 friends arriving at 3pm on a Thursday afternoon. There was just one other couple in the place wine tasting, not at all busy. Our server berated us for not calling ahead to make a reservation, saying we lacked "common courtesy." Why we didn't leave then, I am not sure. But the server continued with an attitude toward us while tasting despite tastings costing $5 per person. The other server rolled her eyes at us. There are so many great wineries with welcoming attitudes, I don't think Barnstormer is worth the time.

I attended a tour & tasting hosted by winemaker Marc and it was amazing! The tour was very informative about the history of Barnstormer and the process of producing wine. Our group was able to see the grapes up close in Barnstormer's Riesling block. The tasting included many delicious wines as well as a charcuterie board. Marc and Hannah were very helpful and they kept the group very engaged throughout the whole tour. I highly recommend Barnstormer!

Wow, just wow! This very unassuming winery delivers on all fronts! Great wines (our favorites were the dry rose, bubbly Riesling and departure red blend), great music (Mumford, Lumineers, etc.), friendly staff that was very knowledgeable and even offered our kids popsicles!, and great ambiance with a welcoming bar and cozy spots to sip. Their merchandise was also top notch and super practical unlike many other wineries. It was November so we didn’t get to experience outside but the grounds look gorgeous and great for kids and pups to roam in the summer. This might be our favorite winery. Highly recommend!

We made a reservation here on a whim for a bachelorette party and had the absolute best time! We sat outside in the beautiful cabanas and enjoyed mimosas, wine flights and the best charcuterie board EVER (but seriously get the charcuterie board)! Highly recommend. Scott the owner was so accommodating and friendly. He even brought us two reserve bottles to taste on the house. Super cute place inside and out. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Finger Lakes!

I really loved the fact that he rinsed the glasses with next wine for the tastings. WENT TO 7 PLACES THIS TRIP AND HE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO DO THIS. Kudos

I always find it ridiculous to see people give a business a one star review and no comment to accompany it. I manage a small business myself. Reviews can make or break future business. This is a five star establishment. My husband and I have visited barnstormer a few times and love their wines! Every time we’ve visited the staff has been polite and courteous. We’ve also ordered a few cases of wine over the phone through the years. Shipping is fast and we’ve never encountered an error. As a consumer, I find this establishment checks all the boxes - great products, happy staff, and a great customer experience. A well deserved 5 stars! Currently indulging in their 2018 Semi-dry Riesling. Cheers!

This is our third visit to Barnstormer Winery. The wines were decent but I don't feel a dog belongs on the tasting room. The barking was annoying and the dog kept running around the tasting room.

This has become one of my favorite winery's to visit in the finger lakes! Tasting are always informative and the staff is very friendly. Hannah gave us a great tasting and recommended some great restaurants and wineries to visit. The Gruner Veltliner and port might be my favorites.

We held a private event at the Barnstormer. The staff was amazing in setting it up. Helped us find ways to keep expenses down, and they were awesome with our guests. They went out of their way to decorate the place, and even offered to pick up the catering for us since we were based out of town. An amazing experience that leaves us recommending them from hundreds of miles away!

We have toured nearly all the wineries in the area and we LOVE the Barnstormer! It’s comfortable, cozy and inviting. The staff sees hundreds of people everyday, but they make you feel welcome and valued. This is a big difference from the “Mega-Wineries” around the lake. Also, try the mulled Jenny Red! It’s awesome!
