(Translated) A new experience, but mixed emotions with the puppies (Original) Una experiencia nueva, pero emociones encontradas con los perritos

130 dogs, some pupies and a very friendly host. We were too late for a tour or any other activities, but could just walk around to pet the dogs. Then the owner happened to walk by and he took some time to show us the pups. Nice little outing

Colleen Mayo-Pankhurst

The absolute highlight of my Yukon trip has been the dog "sledding". Muktuk Kennels had 120 dogs that almost turn inside out for their chance to pull the ATV. On winter they pull sleds. Jeff and Manuela so obviously take excellent care of each one.

PEDRO ARRATIA

(Translated) Splendidly beautiful experience and above all they treat you 100 (Original) Explendidamente hermosa experiencia y sobre todo te tratan al 100

Absolutely amazing. Manuela cooks awesome dinner, the guides are fun and the dogs are super friendly :) They really do love dogs: they take good care of them after they retire from working. Some of them stay inside and play with the guests.

Manuela (And Crew), went above and beyond. The group is very grateful for the amazing time we had there. We loved everything at Muktuk. Very special & personal care made it even more memorable. Hope to come back soon, until then, please hug Gandalf, the Boss and all the all the other ones for us. Your favorite guests. ???? (Photo from Manuela Larsen) PS: Ana still poses from time to time.

One of the best experiences we could have hoped for! We went for a full-day tour; the dogs were happy, the guide was awesome, and the food delicious! DonJek (one of our lead dogs) was a real character -- we still tell stories about him!

Just got back from a 3 hr dog sled tour and I had to post as soon as I could. The crew here are fantastic! You can literally show up in shorts and sandals, and they will outfit you for a couple hours in the snow. The dog teams are fun, and listening to the 100+ dogs barking and howling is a cacophony I will never forget. The puppies are the cutest things you've ever seen, but if you value your shoelaces, wait until you are in the snow boots to visit them! The sled tour was challenging for this overweight out of shape nearly senior guy, but my experience skiing and motorcycling really helped with the balance. Do not be afraid to fall, but if you do, try to get back on quickly, or you could face a bit of a walk to catch up to your team. Overall, have fun and enjoy it, tip well, and get some puppy kisses!

This place was highly recommended by friends from Whitehorse. It was my first dog-sledding experience and loved it! My friend and I had our own sleds. We had awesome guides, nice trail and best dogs ever! I'd do it again :)

Amazing place...MUST LOVE DOGS.... terrific hosts, great food and great rooms, clean with a nice rustic feel to them. Went dog sledding, Ice fishing, snowmobiling and we had lots of time to play with the dogs, inside and out. Our guides on all our outdoor activities were terrific and made sure we had a great time. We would highly recommend Muktuk Adventures. Thank you guys

We had an AMAZING experience, end-to-end. The drive upto this place was like a fairytale, and when you arrive, you're greeted by a large field of dogs (tied up). You then go to the check-in space, where many pet dogs welcome you! The property is gorgeous, and so are the people running it. We were treated with utmost care. My husband and I cut our sledding short because we had a couple of falls, but our sister-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours experience and was very enthusiastic afterwards to recommend it to others! Highly recommend these guys.

(Translated) I've been experiencing dog zori. The dogs are very friendly, very cute and very energetic.只 Instead of riding on a sled, I will steer from the beginning to the end, but after I operated on my foot, I was asked to put it on the sled, but I fell down with the sled and injured my finger. It was November, but the snow was running on ice, and the road was running into an ice burn. But there was power and it was a lot of fun if there was no injury. If you are not confident in handling, you should ask and get on a sled. There seems to be a lot of injuries.

Wild and rustic spot just beyond Whitehorse city limits.... the dogs are amazing.... the rooms in the main house are comfortable and food is good . Don't expect to go to sleep without the wailing songs of the huskies as background music.... and take advantage of the surroundings by spending time outside!!

Leeta White

Terrible customer service, EXTREMELY LOUD (tour group, cleaning dishes, dogs howling, people banging around downstairs first thing in the morning. ZERO amenities. UPDATE: THREE months later: Even his reply to my review was rude. That guy needs some serious people skills training. It's a shame.

Nima Molavi

Professional and friendly guides, complete additional warm equipments (you won't feel cold at all). Great meals and drinks. We had a great experience in a full-day dog sledding tour. Highly recommended as one one the best highlights of Whitehorse.

What a great experience! If you are a dog lover then Muktuk is a must visit as a bucket list in life stop! The hosts and the lodge are so great!

Juliana Caicedo

This place is magical! I stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and it was one of the best trips of my life. The dogs are amazing!!! And also, it was such a good opportunity to learn a bit more about them. Regarding activities, everything was pretty well organized! I loved each one of them, but I truly recommend Ice Fishing and Dog Sledding. The accomodation, was super comfortable and cozy, in fact, my last night I saw some northern lights from my window. But my favorite part.... Manuela's cooking, OMG!!! It was delicious! I totally recommend this place! And I would love to come back soon.

gaétan guéry

Wonderful slice of heaven by the Takhini river which offers great excursions for dog sledding and canoeing. Could spend hours with those lovely dogs who have each their own personality but all extra friendly. Especially the old ones who get to wander around for some extra cuddles. Definitely worth to spend your multi day stay in Whitehorse in this unique location.

Nolan Zurek

Awesome! Fully recommended, everyone was very nice. Very cozy.

Dogs are not perfectly educated to pull the sled. But, it does NOT mean something negative, it makes you feel that they are so cute and lovely friends. If you love dogs, you should go there!

Paul Bilger

What's to say about this place? Gorgeous place, great cabins, fun and helpful and interesting staff and the dogs... great great dogs. Loved our stay and would recommend it time and time again, in fact, getting me to stop talking about my visit is an impossibility.

So much fun! And beautiful setting! Great instructions and care on the trails. Appropriate level of difficulty. (We are two fit adults and it was a breeze). Dogs are friendly and excited to run!

good place but really made for mass tourism, they do well, but charm isn't there, there is much better offers around Whitehorse

Had to try it while we were here and the staff made our day. The dogs and staff were amazing. If you have come all this way don't miss this.

Wonderful place for dog lover but also for everybody who like wilderness. Friendly staff and dogs :). Doesn't matter when you come there is always something to do.

Jess Pizzol

Fantastic guides and staff, full of knowledge and always making sure everybody is enjoying their time and getting the most out of the experience. The dog sledding was an amazing activity with beautiful scenery and plenty of support to get started and throughout the afternoon.

Mairette Newman

I have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Muktuk. It’s the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and learning. Added to that, you have beautiful surroundings, tasty home cooking and owners who will go above and beyond to ensure their guests are happy. Thank you Manuela and Jeff

fantastic place to visit.. great people.. loving dogs to interact with. great viewing areas 10/10 will definitely come back when i return to whitehorse.

Loni Feldmann

This year I was there it was so cool????????????????????❤️❤️????

Beau Grant

For a dog lover, I was amazed at these dogs. There must be 150 of them, all with their personalities and attitudes, they are approachable for working dogs, and many are actually affectionate. The location is 4km off the highway in a park like setting, a huge log pole lodge, all off grid solar etc, and beautiful setting. I hope to stay here when I return from Inuvik.

Excellent adventure for the dog lover. We stayed a week at the B&B with dog sledding daily, ice fishing and touring the area. If you are into a true Yukon experience, great staff and dogs of course..

Nahuel Lucero

My wife and I went dogsledding with them and we absolutely loved it! The staff is super friendly and they'll teach all you need to know about handling your sled. The dogs are amazing, really energetic and they are all loved and taken care of by the staff. Would love to come back!

100% a must-do while visiting Whitehorse, no matter the time of year. The dogs are friendly, energetic, and eager to pull the sleds. The staff are welcoming, knowledgable, and clearly care greatly about the animals in their care. Dogs are constantly present both inside and out. You won't get better food out on the trail whether on a sled in the winter or on a canoe in the summer. In the evenings, return to the lodge for good, home-style cooking, surrounded by retired and adopted dogs.

Kenn K (ge0freak)

Came by to check out the sled dogs. The staff was very helpful and let us walked around and play with the friendly dogs. We will come back next time to join one of the tours when we have more time!

James Schulz

A really fun place for kids. We stayed in the large log cabin on the hill. Great dinners and breakfast. Cabin was very comfortable and warm. And the dogs are really cool. They have presentations and short tours which we did not attend.

Nicholas Guindon

It's hard to describe in brief what an incredible time I had at Muktuk. The owners and the staff (who come from all over the world for short or long times) were an absolute delight. The food is delicious and the dogs - some working sled dogs, some retired, some house dogs, etc. - are impossible not to love. You can even bring a dog to your cabin if you want! They will help organize all aspects of your trip and there are many many activities you can partake in. I simply cannot wait to return.

Bjorn Troch

awesome dog sled adventures with Frank a Yukon Quest legend!

Ryan Sakata

Super nice cabin. Staff was great. Dogs were super fun to see.

What an experience! Hanging out with a heap of lovely dogs for the day was fantastic. Driving the ATV while being pulled by the dogs was incredible.

(Translated) The best experience of the day. A place where they take care of their workers (obviously the dogs), adequate and very attentive staff and equipment, if you want something close to Whitehorse, it is your option. You may find cheaper options, but MUKTUK is worth every dollar. I would repeat with muktuk without hesitation.

LOVED the ranch and the dog sled experience-- Was a fantastic time and one of my favorite parts of my 3 weeks across Canada.

We had such a wonderful time here a week ago that we came back for a couple of days on our way back to Las Vegas. The service and food were excellent as was the cleanliness of the bed and breakfast. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. The highlight of this B&B are the sled dogs, 120 of them. There is not a single dog that you cannot walk up to and pet or play with. The dog area is kept clean; there is no odor; and the dogs are all well fed and groomed. This is a sled dog working facility. In the summer months they offer tours. We took a dog sled team down to the river on the property to let them swim. That was followed by a presentation about the dogs and sled dog races that was well done and quite informative. During the day it was common for all the dogs to start howling at one time and then stopping as though directed by an orchestra conductor. I have been around dog trainers and show dogs most of my life and I have never seen a group of animals so well cared for and happy. This facility also is off the grid powered by solar panels and a back up generator. However, they do have wifi. My wife and I heartily recommend this place if you are a dog lover. If there was anything negative about our stay it was that it was too short. Jeff, Manuela and Pasqual do a wonderful job.

Nadia Carmona

(Translated) A super adventure, but if it's scary, dog sledding for me is something that I won't repeat but that should be done once in a lifetime (Original) Una súper aventura, pero que si da miedo , el trineo de perros para mi es algo que no repetiré pero que si se debe hacer 1 vez en la vida

A must-do if you're in or around Whitehorse. The owner, Manuela, is so kind. Her staff are also great and you can tell the dogs are well taken care of. The dog-sledding experience was super fun and surprisingly more athletic (in a good way) than anticipated. It was the highlight of our trip to the Yukon.

Dog sledding with Muktuk Adventures was AMAZING. I felt so welcomed by both the dogs (the real heard workers) and the staff! They answered all my questions and were very knowledgable. The dogs were so happy and friendly. After the ride the owner took me around to see the puppies! Highly recommend!

This was the highlight of our trip in the Yukon! We did the day trip and got to spend the whole day dog sledding on the frozen Takhini River. The views were incredible and the only sound was the dogs panting as they pulled our sled. Our guide, Lianne, lead the way on a snowmobile and the dogs were quick to give chase. Our job was to hold on to the sled, apply the brake when necessary and enjoy the views. We stopped for lunch on the river bank and enjoyed some grilled hotdogs (there were veggie options too), then we helped feed the huskies! Everyone at Muktuk was really friendly and they had a lot of stories to tell. They provided us with all the clothing we needed to stay warm on the ice. Lianne was really cool, she even let us take turns riding on the back of the snowmobile so we could get photos of the dogs pulling the sleds. After the tour we got to hang out at the ranch and play with some of the newborn huskie puppies. The tour also included transportation to and from Whitehorse, so we didn’t have to worry about how to get there. If you go to Whitehorse, you should go dog sledding with Muktuk!

My girlfriend and I went just got back from, our great winter vacation. We went dog sledding, snow mobiling, and ice fishing, all of our experiences exceeded our expectations. Then you meet the hosts, and enjoy the incredible home made meals mmmm . Our entire stay was amazing, and we are already planning our next visit. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone, that's interested in enjoying a real canadain experience ????

Such an incredible experience! The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable. Highly recommend visiting!

Muktuk is often recognized as the dog sled tour in the town of Whitehorse. The cost for a tour here is slightly higher than it's competition. I have never been to other dog sled tours, so there's no comparison. Try to arrive earlier than your scheduled and play with the dogs outside. The dogs are all quite energetic. Stuff are helpful and are also willing to answer questions. Ask them why some of the dogs are behind gate and you will get a basic understanding of their life.

Oleksandr Kolomiiets

Amazing experience, great hosts and friendly dogs.

We went in June and the tour of the sled dogs was heart warming and exciting. Held newborn puppies and they were so strong! Dinner was excellent and our host couldn't be nicer!

Christopher Johnson

Great adventure. Went in thinking I wouldn't like it, but ended up having a great time

This place gives you a great Canadian experience. In addition to the 130 friendly dogs we enjoyed seeing daily playing the log cabin we stayed at had a great view with the river in the distance. The breakfast was perfect with homemade granola, fruit, eggs, yogurt, cheese, ham and a good variety of breads. In addition to being a great host Manuela has a heart of gold. Many of her dogs are rescue dogs and the older ones no longer suitable for sledding continue to stay on the ranch in their retirement. I highly recommend the experience.

Fantastic! I don't know who was better taken care of, the guests or the dogs. We enjoyed snowy adventures, a relaxing lodge full of dogs, and to top it off some tasty home cooking. Thanks Manuela and Jeff for your tireless work and love of dogs!

Rob Sturgess

I just want to say THANK YOU to you and Jeff on behalf of everyone in the family. We had an incredible time for those few days (Cheechako Winter adventure), with so much fun and excitement packed into 3 days. Your lodge is beautiful, clean, and roomy with such a down-home warm vibe. You made us truly feel at home. Your cooking ....WOW 5 star and the fact you prepared a gluten-free menu daily for Sophie on top of what you prepared for us, was over the top. None of us knew gluten-free food could be so tasty. On top of all that, hanging out with 10 dogs in the lodge, proved so peaceful and relaxing (I must add a special Thank-you for allowing me to play some of Jeff's blues albums while snuggling with the dogs while enjoying a glass of wine,). It was chill! You looked after EVERY detail making this holiday so enjoyable and even though the temps were a bit chilly for us, we stayed toasty warm inside and out. You bet we will be recommending MukTuk to everyone.

If I could give them 6 out of 5 I would! We went for my 60th birthday to hang out with dogs and we sure did. Ice fishing, snow mobiling and dog sledding which was one of my most favourite lifetime experiences. Jeff was an excellent guide and showed us everything we needed to know. The dogs were so excited and happy to run. There were several dogs that hung out in the house and loved to cuddle on the couch. Absolute dog heaven for me! Manuela was such a great host, her food was amazing and we were treated like royalty. The rooms were excellent and the bathroom had a nice large tub excellent after a day outside in the cold. I would recommend this place to anyone who is a dog lover. You MUST love dogs and we do so absolute bliss for us.

Aoife de Faoite

Best thing I did in the Yukon. We did the 5 day Takhini River canoe package. Amazing from start to finish. The dogs are amazing and so well looked after. Food was out of this world, Manuela is a fantastic cook. Out on the river Jeff was the best guide and cook. It's a must do and suitable for all age groups. I can't wait to go back an experience the magic during the winter months.

Jill Post

Great canoeing adventure! Loved the dogs! A must do while you're in the Yukon. Highly recommend
