Was really disappointed. We knew more about wines and Kendall Jackson than the new older guy who served us. After the first sampling, he took a break. We had to tell another hostess that no one was hoping us. We were there over 2 hours for 6 samplings. It ruined our experience and we could not enjoy the wines.

We did the wine & food pairing, and it was incredible. My girlfriend is a dairy-free foodie, and they accommodated us by making dishes with dairy for me and dairy-free for her. The pairings were delicious, especially the pork belly slider with syrah. And I'd say the pairing was a steal at $40 / person.

We have been to multiple Food & Wine pairings at different wineries & events over the years (including KJ) & this compares favorably to any of them. Visiting Sonoma this is a must do! In the past, my boyfriend and I had visited with our parents and service was fantastic! We even signed up for the wine club because "Uncle Frank" took his time to talk up the benefits and individualize our experience. However, our most recent visit we left our parents at home and apparently, younger non-white visitors do not get the same service. It was 10 minutes before we were acknowledged while they served a string of people who entered after we did. Half way through our tasting, a new employee asked to see our ID. Long story short, they accussed my 24 year old boyfriend with valid identification of being under aged and sent us out the door. Hope they don't actually send minors out the door with car keys in hand after they have served them alcohol....

Don't let the size and the fact that a large company mislead you into thinking boring "boring corporate" wines. Jackson Family Wines is incorporated, it is a good size well run business, yet it strives to maintain the flavor of each of the individual wineries that the parent company owns and does. This facility is wonderful, well staffed with fine customer service and lovely ground that are worth a visit alone. The food is top notch and much of it is grown and raised right there on the Estate/Farm/Garden. The Farm to Table dinners are truly that and a wonderful experience.

OK so it's Kendall Jackson, the supermarket wine that you bring to a party where it's friends but not really good friends. And that's definitely part of their business model. But here st the winery it's all about the higher end wines they don't sell in the market. And you know what? Those wines are surprisingly good. So good that without any sales pitch we joined the wine club (and we just don't do that every where). And reasonably priced. I hope you get Frank as your wine guide because he was terrific. OK I'm going home and have a nap now.

This is a visually splendid wine estate. The estate house, the farm-to-garden plots, of course the vast vineyards, the lawn bowling/bocci areas and all of the gardens! Gorgeous! The staff is exceptionally friendly, informative and fun. No stuffiness here (except for, perhaps, some of the guests). The hosts are exceptional and have a vast choice of family picnic areas ... bring your own bread and cheese to munch with their wine or order from their gourmet menu. We loved their "Kelsey Hills Vineyard" sauvignon blanc but I'm sure all the varieties are equally good. As much education, relaxation, quiet time and wandering as you want. It's all up to you!

Try their estate exclusive tasting that you can't find in the supermarket. We liked the Chardonnay, the Meritage Blend, and the Syrah. Taking a couple bottles home. A terrific winery to visit. The red tastings were delicious and informative. Walking through the vines in the front that displayed the major grape varietals was very interesting. It’s been a year since I was up in that area, but recently I called and spoke to Bryan to see if they could do anything special for my niece who was celebrating her 40th birthday with her husband, son and 4 friends who went up to No. Cal from LA for a mini vacation. He said he’d take care of them, and he sure did! He educated them on wines, provided a wonderful wine-tasting experience, and took them on a tour of the herb gardens! My niece and gang took my suggestion to stop at Kendall Jackson (KJ) and afterward she thanked me profusely and said it was the best part of their 4 day trip and they had all fallen in love with KJ wines AND Bryan! Thank you to all of you at KJ! I’ll be back myself, hopefully sooner than later!

Kendall Jackson is a high-quality winery that has been in Sonoma County for over 20 years. They have a great tasting room on the north edge of Santa Rosa along Hwy 101. The wines are well made, and there is a nice variety. Prices are very affordable. The staff was educated and helpful, the grounds beautiful. If you are from out of the area, this is a great place to visit. There is such a variety of wines, that you will be sure to find something you like. Personally, I live locally and I am turned off by the volume Kendall Jackson produces. There are so many small boutique wineries that I prefer to spend my time where a winemaker specializes in 2 or 3 varietals such as just Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, or just Bourdeau blends. Kendall Jackson produces 9 types of Chardonnay and 8 Cabs not to mention all the other popular varietals and blends. I'm leaving this review because I gave Kendall Jackson a visit yesterday 11/3/18 for a Wine Road event. We had a white wine paired with homemade White Bean and Ham Hock soup. Both the soup and wine were great and made a great pairing. If you want to sample a wide range of quality wines that are priced right, Kendall Jackson is the perfect place for a one-stop tasting.

We did the food and wine pairing. It's worth every penny! The wines are delicious, and these are not the store bought wines. These wines can only be purchased at the winery. We meet one of the chefs. You can also still through their gardens, where all ingredients are grown. They even have chickens! Beautiful facility, plan on 2 hours of you do both the pairing and choose to walk the gardens.

The rebate promise you get at purchase is a joke. I was told I would get $2 back for each bottle of wine. I bought a case., filled out the form and got a $2 check instead of a $24 check. this is the second time they have done this to me. I bet they do it to a lot of you and you don't bother to chase down the extra $. I did not bother the first time either but now they owe me $44.

I went there with my daughters around May I think for Mother's Day, and I thought went to have some wine and appetizers, but we had a great dinner, and the four wines we had tasted were excellent, I like sweet wine so I like one in particular called Reserve 2019. This is just such a fun place to visit. For those of us that live in west Santa Rosa it's just so convenient to stop by. For a big time producer they make very good wines. I have never had a bad wine here. Kendall Jackson has a beautiful tasting room and a very gorgeous property too. I like to get a little buzz on and wonder around just admiring the beauty. Please be careful when ordering from them. I went with friends as a first timer. It was a lovely day, I enjoyed the experience. I ordered 6 bottles of wine, joined the wine club. I made a mistake on the order and asked for a new sheet. I should have ripped it up. I redid the order and assumed everything was taken care of. After I returned to New York, I got a notice that my order was on the way to be delivered 6/7 and charge card had a 404.00 debt on it from KJ. I called and spoke to a lovely woman who looked into it and stated she would cancel my order, that this should not have happened and would refund my money. I got another notice that an order was being delivered now in the 9th but no refund. I called and spoke to a man this time who kept insisting that I ordered a case even though I kept explaining what happened and the person who did our wine tasting knew that. I asked to have the shipment canceled but I was told it was too late. I told him I did not want a case of wine (6 bottles of 2 different types. 1 I don't remember tasting which was probably the mistake). I feel like I was taken advantage of as a novice. My guide for the wine tastings knew I made a mistake but put 12 bottles thru instead of 6. Beware of what you are ordering. This is not honest. He didn't even try to work with me or try to help me in any way just kept saying they really want me to try the wine. This really turned a beautiful into something not so nice.

We felt totally safe and thought is was a better experience than the time we came before COVID when you stand at a bar inside. The tasting bar is staffed with friendly people who are knowledgeable about the wine and happy to give you a few extra pours. I highly recommend the Estate Tasting ($20) over the Reserve ($10) as it exposes you to K-J's single vineyard, higher end offerings. Check out their website for a BOGO tasting coupon and a bottle purchase waives a tasting fee as well. Don't forget to squander an hour perusing their beautiful culinary gardens!

TLDR: Enjoyed the experience! Beautiful vineyards and main building. Great tasting opportunity; glad we visited and will return again. Considered part of the Russian River area, Kendall-Jackson may seem too ubiquitous and "commercial" but I assure you that is not the experience at their winery. An appointment (see website) is recommended, but during the week it may be possible to "walk-in" if space is available. Weekends not so much. Tastings are $20.00 per person and you get a good flight for that (see my photo of the tasting menu). If you purchase two Reserve bottles, they will wave a tasting fee. Reserve bottles start at $35 and go up from there, so don't purchase unless you want. Our sommelier was Paul (aka Squire Paul). If you can get him to serve you, you will be regaled with detailed stories of local history, Scottish history, winemaking, and more. He's very entertaining, and knowledgeable. Please be sure to tip him well.

We arrived an hour before closing and even though we agreed to a fast tasting due to the time we arrived the service provided was horrible, other customers arrived after and were given the full service. We were even asked if we paid for it at the end of the tasting, when the receptionist clerk had previously check everything prior.

Went to Kendall-Jackson on a ladies wine getaway this month. I made reservations for a wine and food expereience and we were all blown away. After a very fun black glass mystery taste, we were seated in the upstairs private room. It was a pampering experience with 4 presentations in about 2 hours. The wine and food selections were well thought-out and the chef gave a wonderful description of each plate. I ended up joining the club because it includes 4 complementary experiences per year. It is currently priced $70/person. Looking forward to going back.

As of feb 2021: 5 stars The only other place to do a real wine and food tasting. No I’m not talk about finger foods/ appetizers. These are real courses/entrees with 2-3 ounces of wine to taste with the food. The menu constantly changes. The courses were the salad, artichoke soup, lamb sausage and loin and dessert cake, then a topper donut thingy. Oh man, the lamb sausage was amazing!! It was so flavorful and not fatty. I could eat this with a bun and some mustard. Soooo good. And the lamb loin was the best I’ve ever tasted lamb. The chef def knows his meats. The wines paired with the food were exquisite too. We ended up buying the Hawkeye Cab. Then finish off with these fried soft donut like pasties. Excellent finish. Second best tasting menu (next to St Francis). 2 years ago: 4 stars The estate is beautiful. The grounds are very big and nice. Instead is cozy. Came for a tasting and did the red wine tasting. We enjoyed most of their reds and even bought 2 bottles. Our pourer was a little awkward but we still enjoyed our tasting. They have food that you can purchase while you wine taste as well!

A beautiful building in country surroundings. From start to finish however, I felt like I was being processed and marketed. The new Covid/Post Covid business model that seemingly all the Sonoma wineries have adopted has successfully monetized every visitor but not necessarily for the enjoyment of the latter. My lovely wife and I went here a few times. Once for this wine-pairing thingie. It's been great every time we've gone there. The chef is good with his trade, and, the wine is horrible. I had to drink as much of it as I could so that no one else would have to suffer thru it. It's a sacrifice I would make again, just to save ALL OF YOU from having to taste it. Really. I would do that. It's a great venue. Great wine, too, I guess. But .. leave me some!

Kendall Jackson was an amazing experience. Our group consisted of 1st time wine country travellers as well as wine connoisseurs. We had an incredible time. Terry was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. He went above and beyond our tasting and lead us on a tour of the gardens. The wine was impressive and the staff exceptional.

Our group of 6, which did not include any serious wine aficionados, were very fortunate to have chosen the Kendall-Jackson winery for a wine tasting. Throughout our stay, we received helpful coaching and advice from Kevin, Makena, and MacKenzie. Their easy-going manner along with a great sense of humor made this a very relaxing and fun experience as we explored various wines and tastes. The building itself looked like a French chateaux and the gardens around the house were very nice. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended if you are in the Santa Rosa area.

I have a close friend that drinks nothing but Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay. I purchased a bottle of the 2013 Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay specifically for her. I served it to her last evening and she asked is this the Grand Reserve. I said yes. We went to the kitchen to double check. She stated something is different in the taste.???? I felt badly and she then covered by saying it is okay. I was wondering has anyone else experienced this?

I was visiting KJ winery today and my spouse ordered a tasting with a server named Bill, but instead of preparing the wine that was ordered, and checking whether the winery was able to do any pairings as we had inquired about, he turned his back to us and proceeded to clean wine glasses and pour himself a glass of wine before staring out into the horizon. Bill had one job to do today, and he failed in the most extraordinary fashion.
