My partner and I did a wine tour on our own; just driving to each winery. This one by far have the best wine. It was really really good. The views were awesome and nice small/ personal atmosphere on the inside. Can’t recommend their wine enough, we really enjoyed it

Small winery but very very good Malbec if you’re lucky get it but it is most likely sold out! Very close tasting to the Argentine ones. My fave Malbec from Canada!

We had a wonderful experience visiting Deep Roots Winery. The same family has been operating from this location for over 100 years, and you get to meet some of them during the tasting. They are nice people who will greet you with a smile and offer a wonderful selection of wines. While my friend felt their red wines are exceptionally crafted, I preferred theirs whites. The winery itself is also gorgeous, and you can have a tasting on a upper floor where there is a great view!

LOVE Deep Roots! Accidentally came in as we were driving by years ago, and now this is my favourite winery in the world! I'm part of there wine club and drop by (I live out of town) as often as I can!

I make a point of coming here each year. Exceptional wine each time I come. One downfall is that they have an amazing logo, but don't sell wine glasses! Very friendly staff year after year!

You know you're at a family winery when you get here. I was greeted by a lovely dog and went through my tasting with Deb and Brian. They really care about you and your tastes and have great insight into the wine world. PLUS the wine is lovely...something for everyone.

Rude owners, rude driver.

Purchased a bottle of the Merlot on last years wine trip to the Okanagan, oh how I wish I had bought more. Delicious wine which we can't find in any of our local Victoria wine shops. This wine has great flavour, body, lovely with food and well priced....in my opinion it ranked equally with many of the better known wines ( maybe I should say more frequently reviewed) we purchased. thank you to the wine makers.

Hands down my favorite winery in all of Okanagan valley. Their red wines are perfectly crafted and as someone who doesn’t even drink white wine I actually have a several whites from Deep Roots that I love. You will be greeted and served with smiles by the family members who own and operate this amazing winery. They have been on the property for over 100 years - hence Deep Roots. Great experience all around.

Hands down our favourite winery of the day! The Deep Roots wines are amongst our top picks of our winery tastings. We were greeted by the staff who are family members who own and operate this amazing winery with a stunning location and view. They have been on the property for over a century - hence Deep Roots name.

Like both expensive and cheap wines, I’ll try to squeeze all the goodness I can out of this review. The difficulty comes not from the location being inferior in any way, only that it’s so unfortunately average. Deep Roots is the equivalent of Proxima Centauri. Yes, I’m talking about the red dwarf 4.24 light years away that recently came under focus after the discovery of potentially habitable planets and I forgot this is a wine review, and none of you care. The point is that Proxima is a small member of a star system (like that drummer with no beard in ZZ Top ironically actually named Frank Beard) that also containing two brighter stars like our own (the Alphas, or if you prefer, Billy and Dusty). Given their luminosity, it is impossible to perceive Proxima unless you have a good telescope and squint really, really hard. Brighter neighbors similarly overwhelm Deep Roots, and brighter not because of size, but more from originality and overall appeal. On its own, Deep Roots has a great name with a matching impressive logo. It’s easy to reach with ample parking, and has a deceivingly simple exterior leading into a cozy if not (more appropriately) intimate tasting room. Read between the lines, it’s small. My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited sixty wineries. That’s sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. Alas, none were from Deep Roots. We tried, taking in their offered samples, but despite the amazing view of the lake (which you can find at nearly all the wineries), we found little noteworthy with Deep Roots. I mean seriously, I took video and photos, and had to reference them to pull whatever I could into this review. It’s shocking considering the winery’s history—supposedly, Deep Roots is called that because it’s one of the oldest in the region, tracking back several generations of the same family. And there are claims they sell a great Syrah, and everyone should please give them a chance because no two palettes are the same. I adore Silver Sage so don’t take my taste buds as gospel. We only tried them because my girlfriend and I practically had to avoid them while finding the entrance to the more interesting Elephant Island around the corner. And yes, I just said the fruit winery that resembles a hippie commune is more interesting than the classic winery with a corkscrew symbol. But did we regret our visit? Absolutely not…the whole point of visiting regions like Naramata is to be spontaneous, to go where you weren’t expecting. I can find Hillside and Therapy wines anywhere in the province. Deep Roots was not on the agenda—we rolled down the hill, forgot to brake and stumbled into a winery. Only in Naramata can that happen, and Deep Roots is worth a try for no other reason. However, if you are one of those insisting on planning every moment of a journey (Mom), than Deep Roots may not be high on your list.

Great service, beautiful view , amazing wine

We went here because another winery recommended them to us as they do great "Big Reds". The small family winery charm and delicious wine will bring us back!

Came out here on a whim. Naramata has so many wineries to pick and choose from and with limit time and capacity taste, one has to be discerning and strategic in one's choices. Deep Roots is an excellent choice, especially as one of the first wineries you are visiting that day. Their whites have a tartness and floral notes that are very refreshing in the summer heat and they have a fantastic view of their orchards and the lake as you sit back in their patio and sample their wines. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed deep roots and will definitely come here again.

Very friendly staff and delicious wines. Fairly priced wine tasting of $5. Patio to enjoy wine and beautiful view above the wine tasting room. I would highly recommend stopping here! Don’t forget to ask about the family history of what Deep Roots means.

Great location, tasty reds especially Syrah! Tasting fee waved on purchase, and will seat you without reservations if they can.

Always an amazing selection of wines, we really enjoy the Parentage and Syrah in particular. The tastings by appointment are a treat as things feel less hurried and their patio has such a beautiful view. The proprietors and staff are always so gracious we really like this place.

Haven Elliott

Compared to some of the wineries that we visited this would be considered tiny, but don't let that stop you from stopping here. They have a fantastic view, some really good wines, and some super friendly staff to make the wine experience excellent.
