The rural atmosphere coupled with great wine (a large selection), beautiful venue, and extremely friendly and welcoming staff will surely make your experience an enjoyable one. Another added benefit is if you do a wine tasting and then buy a bottle afterwards - your tasting is free! Highly recommended in every way!

Myself and six friends went for a winery tour on Sunday, we had been to Valenzano Winery before and thought it would be a fun day date to try some wines and get out of the house. We were completely blown away by how EXCEPTIONAL this tour was! Our guide, Danny was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, inviting and engaging. He was so passionate about the grapes, the processes, and the wine- you can tell he LOVES his job! I highly recommend this tour - It was a BLAST and we are already purchasing another Groupon to take this tour again in the fall, (although I think we would all pay full price)! The wine was delicious and they did an excellent job of pairing the wines with food, our favorite being the fried chicken with cucumber wasabi cream and the chocolate ganache cake! After the tour and tasting, which lasted 2 hours, we were invited to order food and stay a while longer in the barrel room. Danny, Jonathan & Rachel were a fabulous team, I would love to see larger food parings and offers! Such an awesome day!

This is such a great place. They had crafts, tastings, and live entertainment when we went. The food and the service was perfect. Ok so if you get Danny as one of your tour guides, GET READY TO HAVE THE BEST WINE TASTSING EXPERIENCE EVER! I’m sure the other guides are amazing but for my first time tasting there, it was like no other winery I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been around). He’s so knowledgeable about wine & food pairings and his personality really shines through....but what really hooked me was when he brought out chicken for one of the tastings. My girlfriend and I don’t eat meat so we just expected to skip this one. No big deal. He asked “do you eat seafood?” We nodded and then he said “give me 2 minutes.” This man went straight into he kitchen and actually brought us out a delicious little shrimp appetizer that we’ve never tried before and I was completely stunned by his accommodation towards us. Thank you so much Danny!! We will definitely be back this summer to experience it all over again :)

My husband and I visited the winery and Danny was our tour guide. He was amazing. His way of explaining how the wine was made and the words he used made our experience all the better. I really enjoyed the foods that they prepared as well! We were given a gift bag with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses to take home. Danny introduced us to some delicious wines. For the past few years we have made a family tradition of going to valenzanos the weekend after thanksgiving. We usually do some wine tasting and then enjoy a bottle at a table and order some food. This year we just wanted to buy some wine and leave, did not care about the band or want to taste any wine. We where told in order to even walk in the door we had to pay 5 bucks each person. Really? We didn't even bring cash we only had plans on buying cases of wine. I have to pay you to allow me to buy cases of wine from you? No thank you, we will take out business elsewhere and we did. We purchased 4 cases an the next winery. They didn't demand money to walk in their doors. We will start a new tradition.

Valenzano Family Winery is the best winery in New Jersey! Such a relaxing, wonderful atmosphere. Rain or shine, you will have an excellent time! They have great tasting wines of all kinds, and they have delicious appetizers & entree meals. I personally loved the cheese plate and pretzel. They have live music that occurs which really sets the mood perfectly. They also give outstanding tours, along with creating custom wine labels that come out beautifully. I recently just proposed there (since me & my fiance love it there so much), and I could not have been any happier with the outcome of how well the whole day went! They have the best staff and are so caring. They give 100% to make sure you leave there with the best experience possible. Thank you to the Valenzano Family & staff...I HIGHLY recommend spending the day there!

A few of my best friends toke me for a pre bday wine tasting, which was really good! You get to taste 8 different types of wine from a list you get and a plate of cheese/crackers. Well let's say 6 bottles purchased later???????? and we ended up staying for dinner for appetizers. Service was great on both ends. We will definitely be back!

we went to the dinner on thursday evening expecting an excellent evening because of the valenzano name and everything was more than expected. we sat near the fireplace which created its own ambience but the service was excellent.with help from the wine expert we were treated with excellent choices which was very pleasing to the pallet. we started off with the appetizer of clams which was very tender and the remaining broth was just as enjoyable for soaking up the bread. we had 2 types of chicken entrees and each was excellent. the service was very pleasant and we felt like we knew the servers for years. fortunately we had plenty of left overs so we can enjoy the next day. we did not have room for deserts and we are looking to go back and try in the wine tasting room. i would recommend very highly and the prices were were not extravegent but on the very reasonable sign. thank you for such a great evening.

Where do I start? The atmosphere was so welcoming, the staff especially our waiter Nick S was very accommodating and pleasant! He suggested different wines to taste and recommended their new Chicken sandwich that Taste like it was made from God himself. We raved so loudly that the head chef Matt came out so that we could tell him how much we enjoyed all the food. Absolutely fantastic service! Went back after an amazing tour 3 years ago just to get that wonderful Shamong Labrusca. We did the 8 wine tasting for $10 but got our tasting fee waived because we bought a bottle. The guy who did our tasting was very knowledgeable and suggested good wines for our preference. Will definitely be back when we finish all the bottles we bought. Probably even before that!

I’ve always known I wanted to get married at Valenzano Winery. It’s such a beautiful place, the staff are awesome, and the wine is delicious. Our guests loved the barrel room, which was such a unique space for cocktail hour. The bridal suite was great too – although there needs to be a hook somewhere in the room to hang the dress! The only comment I have is that you have to pay to get there early, which was a little frustrating. The only way to work out my limo timing was to have the girls dropped off at 3:45 instead of 4, and we ended up having to stand outside because we weren’t allowed in yet (come on!). They book up fast though, so be prepared for that. We got engaged in February, 2015 and had to get married on a Friday in May, 2017 because all the Saturdays were booked! Overall my wedding was everything I could’ve hoped for and I can’t wait to see the beautiful pictures in the vineyard!

UPDATE: The below long-winded response is equally disappointing to the concerns I shared. It does not address the customer service complaint, only redirects to a procedure we were never told to follow. The emails went unanswered for several weeks (including one using the online customer service contact form referenced in the below reply), and if there was a policy in place to handle these situations there were ample opportunities to share that with us. My email was always available as it was used to confirm the original bookings. In fact one of my Groupons was redeemed even though the service was never rendered and so this response confirms that the business did receive money from that reservation. Everyone experienced setbacks and challenges due to the pandemic. If there was a policy in place, that should have been communicated three weeks ago. It's sad this Google review was the only way I received a response. This review is not in regards to the quality of the product, however it does speak to recent customer service - or lack thereof. Prior to the pandemic, my rating would be 5 stars. My family and friends loved taking advantage of the Wine Tour and Tasting with Danny, especially when it was available through Groupon. We always had a fabulous time, and Danny always made guests feel like family. We got to try many different wines and would always purchase a few bottles afterwards. We would recommend it to anyone as a fantastic afternoon out. Unfortunately, the Wine Tour and Tasting was suspended due to Covid and Valenzano no longer offers it. Danny has also left the business. My sister and I had several outstanding Groupons for this offer from March 2020 that we were hoping to have credited towards another service, or refunded. We actually had reservations booked when the state when into lockdown, and naturally they were canceled. Recently when we contacted Valenzano, my sister did not receive any response to her emails and ended up calling directly. She was told "that was so long ago" by a self-identified manager in regards to her unused Groupons. She was offered no solution other than it would be "looked into." She never received a follow-up. I never received a response to my email either. We ended up taking the request directly to Groupon who were able to address our concerns. I'm sad that the customer service is lacking. It felt as though since they already got the money, they just didn't want to be bothered. While it is disappointing the service is no longer offered, we were hoping to put the credit towards something else at Valenzano but were not given the option. I know the pandemic threw everybody into disarray, but the flippant way our concerns were handled and ignored implies that the business is not concerned with customer service. I cannot say I will be back anytime soon, and am thankful at least that Groupon was receptive to assisting.

That was fantastic!! My wife and I just got home from the wine tour and this was by far the best wine tour we have ever been on by far. Apparently after reading the reviews Danny has quite a following and now we are adding ourselves to the list. He is very knowledgeable about the wines and his pairing of wines and food were a great education and gave us ideas for entertaining this season. For only being open for dinner for 4 hours once a week, they bring the thunder. My apps tonight were calamari and the flat bread du jour. My dinner was the salmon special. All entrees, except for pasta dishes, come with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Can't lose.

Very disappointed, did a tasting and then waited in a short line which for some reason took over 30 minutes to try to buy 1 bottle of wine. The line was getting longer and longer and we realized why it was so long because the one individual ringing up was pouring the wine for 4 clueless girls all getting 4 glasses at once, all while they were still trying to figure out what wine to get. We eventually walked out, as well as many other people. Never seen such a poorly run place, if they were trying to make sales you would think they would have a better logistical process, maybe not making the individual ringing up having to pour 16 glasses for one small group of people. I will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone. Keep loosing business there are many other places in the area that run much smoother! I know if I was the owner I would be disappointed my staff was loosing this much money in a small amount of time. I’m sure this isn’t the first time and won’t be the last!

Best wine tasting I’ve ever been on. My girlfriend dragged me and I’m not much of a wine guy but this tour and tasting changed my mind. Dan was awesome and was hands down the best tour guide ever. I loved the food pairings with the wine and his suggestions for wine (like putting pineapple juice & rum in the Plums Up) are spot on. I can’t wait to go back with my girlfriend in the fall for another tasting and eventually get a spot at the table for one of the Thursday night dinners!!!

Bring your wallet...$25 + tax to get in, $10 to park and everything else costs extra. Do you want to be in the shade? You have to pay for a tent (in advance). Want to sit? You’ll need to bring you own chair. You will get a glass and about a teaspoon of wine to taste. If you are cost conscious you’ll want to avoid this $$$ event.

What a wonderful experience! We did wine tasting first, Sarah was our host and she was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and was super sweet. After the tasting we sat down for dinner and Shawn was our server. Another amazing employee who was so fun and nice. The food for me was ok, I got the Valenzano Chicken Sandwich, which was just too much breading and not enough chicken. My friend got the spinach and asiago pasta, I tasted a piece and wish I had gotten that, it was so good. Lastly, the wine, so delicious, we ended up buying 8 bottles. Definitely recommend this place for the great wine and amazing staff.

So I took my girlfriend here for her birthday but she didnt know we had to be there ON TIME. We were late for the tour and the rule is if your late for even a minute, you miss the tour completely. I was extremely mad. I was gonna email the marketing team but decided to not get too mad. We decided to try the wine tasting and get food cause we were hungry. Probably the best idea we had. We made a bad situation into a great memory. Al served us the wines and taught us which ones to try first and what each one was. He was very intellegent with everything to do with wine. While we were there, Danny kept coming out and bringing us food from the tour since we missed it which everything was absolutely delicious. All I have to say is if you miss the tour, dont let that get you down. Sit down and have some wine, crackers, and cheese and just chat with the people working there. Also the cheese steak dumplings and fries were amazing. The atmosphere there is great and the entire staff is absolutely phenomenal. Will definitely return again.

Had a 2pm tasting one Saturday. Show up at 2pm, checked in with the host and told to find a seat at the bar. We were ignored for roughly 15 minutes before someone explained how the tasting worked, handed us a listing and told someone would be right with us. Someone else told us how the tasting worked and said someone would be right with us. After another 15 minutes a third person told us how the tasting worked and asked if we had any questions to which we responded "No questions, would like to just get started" as it was well past 2:30 pm and we had been waiting over 30 minutes at this point. Her response was "Yeah well so does everyone else" which is interesting considering two other couples that came in after us had already begun their tasting. After the tasting was over, we ordered a case of wine to go for a friend that moved far out of state, and liked a specific wine from Valenzano. We didn't open it until we gave it to them, come to find it was the wrong wine. We contacted the winery to state that they gave us the wrong wine and they basically told us there was nothing they could do. Two stars because the person that did our tasting was actually pretty good, even though the rest of the experience was terrible.

This place is absolutely amazing I would highly recommend it they are at local family owned winery I especially like the blueberry wine but they have so many good choices they also have Thursday night dinners but stay tuned for that because of the covet again this was a very very nice winery and the wine is great. We recently had a girls day out and decided to attend Valenzano for wine because what girl doesn't love wine???? For the most part we LOVED the variety of wines to choose from however the amount that was poured into the glass was barely enough to swish around in the mouth. Also our reservation time was for 2pm however we did not begin until almost 220pm and because they had another party coming in at 3....our wine tasting experience was cut short. Again I absolutely love Valenzano Wine...Blush is my favorite! However our group was not pleased with the service. Oh and the cheese and crackers very good!

Went today for a wine tasting and tour. OMG it was wonderful!!! My mom and I had such a great time! First, everyone working there was great. Soo personable and friendly. We live over an hour away and everyone that we encountered there made us feel soo comfortable. Also Danny was our tour guide and he was AWESOME! He was soo funny and knew how to entertain everyone. All in all, this was a great experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Attended a wine tasting on 3/19/21 and it was truly exceptional. Me and my boyfriend made a reservation originally at 5PM but we were running a bit late so we called to reschedule at 6PM which was no problem. Upon arrival, we were seated at the bar and were shortly greeted after by our waitress named Emily. For the wine tasting, you are able to choose 8 wines from the 29 selections provided. The tasting is also accompanied by a small assorted cheese plate with crackers. It's a large ballroom/dinning room space so if you are looking to order appetizers or stay for dinner, those options are available as well. On their website, wine tastings are advised as 45 minute time slots but never at any time did we feel rushed. As dinner service began, more customers arrived but never did the space feel overcrowded. Lastly, our waitress Emily was amazing! Her service was great, she was personable, knowledgable, and never for a moment did we feel forgotten. She provided great recommendations and detailed descriptions for us to make sound selections. Even as other parties arrived and she waited on other tables, we never had to go looking for her at any point. She alone deserved 5 stars for service! The price point and quality of this place is really unbeatable. We purchased 4 bottles that are not available at our local liquor stores and enjoyed the experience so much, that we will definitely be back!

Visited yesterday for a tasting and had a wonderful time. Our host, Emily, was very friendly and explained all of the wines to us. The wine itself is delicious - most of them are very fruity and sweet, although they do have a selection of drier wines. Definitely something for everyone. I tried a few things I wouldn’t normally thanks to Emily and really enjoyed almost everything. A great time, will definitely return for a tasting in the future!

This winery is awesome. My wife and I love the Shamong Red and the Shamong White. Even my mom loves the White Cabernet. It's a truly beautiful venue. My wife and I got married at the indoor site. There is also an outdoor site. Great tasting room. You can have cocktail hour in the distillery. The vineyard and the long rustic bar are awesome.

Valenzano Winery was the first stop on our 4 stop trolly wine tour. They were definitely unprepared for a group of 32 people! However, due to the hard working staff they made it work. They had a great selection of wines to taste and the cheese/cracker tray was very good too. If it wasnt for the hardworking staff this stop could have been a complete failure!

Our first time at Valenzano Family winery was made even more special by our server Emily. Our party of four was seated at the bar for some wine tasting and Emily was taking care of us. We appreciated Emily's knowledge of all the wines we tasted but more than that, she was personable, funny and charming. And while we all enjoyed the variety of wines we tasted, it was Emily who really made our visit to Valenzano so very memorable. So, if you plan a visit to Valenzano's, ask for Emily. Y'all, we got played. So the wine is great here, and the cheese curds are some of the best we have ever had. BUT, we came here for lunch on a Sunday, and they had a special: steak fajitas. We ordered 2 entrees and the chef suggested we combine our two entrees onto one plate, which we were completely fine with. Our meal comes out and it's fairly big, presumably skirt steak covered in a salsa verde in the middle, but two large sides: sauteed onions and peppers, and what appeared to be a frozen vegetable mix (green beans, lima beans, carrots, corn) that they added black beans too, also with a fair amount of salsa verde mixed in. At first we though it was a weird combo, but we tried it and we're satisfied, we're not super picky, and anything mixed up in a tortilla is great. We finish that off, get dessert, and get our check. THESE "FAJITAS" WERE $35 an order. The most expensive steak item on their menu was $29. We didn't complain because the waitress was really sweet, but these were the most expensive frozen vegetable fajitas I have ever seen. $35 an order. $70 for fajitas for 2. Let that sink in. I'll be coming back for cheese curds, but I'll think twice when thinking about lunch options...

I assisted with a wedding for at this venue. To give you some insight, I worked for a vendor for the wedding. Little did I know the company has two buildings. I had gotten my supplies to the other building, unloaded it, set it up, when I realized I was in the wrong area. When I got to the right building the owner (Dan) took it upon himself to remove his suit jacket and assist me in getting everything in place. The staff was amazing. With Dan at the head and Nicole who was the Matre D that night, the bride and the groom had an amazing time, the vendors (including myself) were well taken care of, and most importantly WE even had a great time. The food they fed us was delicious (a lot of venues don't even feed their vendors, let alone make sure they have a hot, good tasting meal) and Dan was full of smiles and laughs as was the rest of his staff the entire night. Truly good energy and a place I would love to work at again.

While trying wine they serve you a delicious plate of cheese and crackers. Best wine tour I have ever taken in NJ. Definitely worth the 2.5-hour ride to get there. Our tour guide, Daniel, made this a personal experience and very memorable. He was extremely entertaining, knowledgeable, personable and well-versed on the history of the winery, as well as the wine process. The wine tour included a 12-wine tasting along with food pairings and the ambience was relaxing and intimate. Well worth the money and cannot wait to go back! Make sure you ask for Daniel to be your tour guide. He is fantastic!

This was my first time at the winery...Danny was the best from the moment he entered the waiting area, informative about the hard work and process that goes into the wine making process in the vineyard...the wine tasting session was sooo educational from learning what food pairings goes with what wine and the difference between dry, semisweet and sweet. So my boyfriend tried to surprise me for my birthday. I’ve never done a winery tour or tasting & we came from so far that we were 3 mins late. The first guy we spoke to was Danny, at first i didnt like his responses probably because human nature we dont like to hear no on anything - i was unaware of the policy because again, my bf tried to surprise me i had no idea where we were goin or what to expect - so we could not participate in the tour. It was a long drive and i was hungry so we stuck around and still got to try out the (delicious) wine. Honestly a man named Al turned our bad situation around. He was very insightful on helping and in the end both he and Danny were very nice & accommodating. The food was phenomenal - we ordered the cheesesteak dumplings & cheese platter. & Danny kept bringing out amazing treats from the tour even though we didnt get to participate. Definitely recommend

My fiancé and I booked our wedding at valenzano winery (even picked our wedding date around their availability), and then 7 months later (5 months before our wedding), we received a phone call from our caterer letting us know that the winery made a mistake and double booked so we were kicked out. The winery made no attempt to reach out and apologize. When I called them, the owner acted as if I were crazy and that this wasn’t a big deal... we also live 2100 miles away and could not physically look at other venues. While I have no proof, my gut tells me we were kicked out for a friend or family member or someone willing to pay over the already high price tag. The pavilion that they have is beautiful, but if you want to feel confident that your wedding will go as you planned, and if you only want to plan a wedding once, do yourself a favor and move on. I will never drink their mediocre wine again.

My sister took a day trip today to relax and Valenzo Winery was a perfect choice! We had a great tour by the consummate tour guide Danny who really make you feel you are part of his extended family by the end of the tasting. I have been on several winery tours and today was the best I have ever experienced! It was great to learn different ways to enjoy wine and food together. I had a lunch time reservation. I love this venue. It's peaceful because of the pretty views and it's quiet. I had the option of dining outside or in. The food was delicious (as was the wine. I recommend trying the new Riesling!). The staff was curtious and helpful. The place is clean and well maintained. Be advised reservations for a table are different from reservations for wine tastings. Tasting reservations are made over the phone only. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. By far the best and now my favorite winery hands down. My husband and I are not wine connoisseurs so we're not fancy. What got me looking into this winery was their "Santa's little helper" bottle that I picked up at a NJ Wegmans during the holidays. I was hooked. I had to find out more about this winery because that wine was just so good. For their wine tour, it's more than just a paper Dixie cup with a here you go attitude. You get a wine experience. You get the history, the process, the wine and food tasting in an intimate setting. My husband and I both agreed that we'll be back and this time we're inviting our friends. I heard there was some dinner events here so we'll try that out. If the wines and presentation was any indication of Valenzano winery then we'll make it a regular experience.

I visited Valenzano Winery earlier today with my mom and we had an absolutely fabulous time. Danny was our tour guide and made the experience incredible. His knowledge of the wines and the way he explains it is like no other wine tasting we have ever been to. You can tell he loves his job. The language he uses to explain the wine making process, the grapes, the wines, and the food pairings draws you in. The food pairings were amazing, I cannot wait to try to make some of the food at home to pair with the bottles of wine we bought. We will definitely by back in the fall and winter to experience a different tasting. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

The staff always treat you as if you are family which makes for a great experience whether your stopping in for a tasting or a glass of your favorite wine, you can even make a nice day there enjoy your favorite bottle of wine. Dry to Sweet they have an amazing selection for everyone's taste.

Really an amazing place to come and spend a few hours. Sample through their extensive wine list for a 45 minute wine tasting, walk about the grounds and take in the beauty of the area, and finish the afternoon/evening off with a meal at their Bari restaurant. Delicious and amazing hand crafted offerings will really be well worth the time here. The price is surprisingly low as well! Their wine is great but their burger is amazing. So many flavors all combined harmoniously, accompanied by a glass of Shanong Red wine will really make the time awesome. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and I were at another winery talking with another couple who suggested trying out Valenzanos winery. We tried it out and let me tell you I'm happy we did. Our server was phenomenal and the chef who made a cheese plate for us even though the kitchen was closed. All around one of the best winery experiences we have had. Would go back again and we plan on it for lunch one day soon. I would recommend there Secret apple wine called Batch 3. The bottle is hand dipped in wax making a fantastic presentation. Also I would recommend shamong blush as it's the perfect in the middle rose wine and sweet yet a touch dry in taste.
