RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! Breathtaking views, BUT THAT IS IT! Not a very welcoming atmosphere! Our older waitress wasn’t that pleasant with her huffing and puffing every time we asked a question about different types of wines this vineyard offered. Maybe it was an inconvenience asking to taste wine.

Excellent wines, food and service in a tranquil setting!

Dorothy McCoy

The place was amazing. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and relaxing. And you know the food is amazing when you forget there is a really good glass of wine in front of you. Thank you for a great evening.

I love how far out this place is! Such a great little hidden winery in the mountain!! Both the reds and the whites were great. I really liked the petite verdot and the clio. I also recommend doing the 1.8 mile hike around the vinyard..and don't miss the shakey bridge ;)

A new vineyard with the tasting room added in November 2016. The tasting room is surrounded by the vineyard providing a great view from several windows. The vineyard has been producing wines for several years, we tasted their 2011 Clio which is a Bourdeaux blend. This is noteworthy because most wineries will not taste wines with this much aging! The Clio was a great blend with too much french oak for my palate, but Danielle loved it. Wine glasses were included in our tasting fee. This Vineyard is worth a visit, and I expect that over the next few years when their new vineyard plantings mature that they will be producing a great variety of good wines.

Highly recommend the Muse as a stop while in the Shenandoah Valley! Awesome wine collection and wine flight with best of their 5 wines to taste. Also a nice selection of appetizers to eat along with the wines. We ended up buying 2 of their Erato and Piquet wines. However, despite the fine wine experience, Muse offers a great experience where you can walk the vineyards through a marked trail which takes to you past the winery, the upper and lower vineyards, a swinging bridge and back to the tasting room. Highly recommend doing the swinging bridge after a few glasses down ???? We will certainly be back again (they have lower seating by the vineyards but also an upper deck for better views and were in process of expanding the upper deck so more great views coming!) Doggo friendly!

Getting to the vineyard is hard. Going to a one way road down a hill is not a way you want to go to a vineyard. Furthermore no signs for entrances and you may end up next to their neighbors private entrance. Wine is limited but the views are spectacular and the building is very modern. Service was good overall.

Melissa Hahn Zoutendam

If I could give Muse a 3.5, I would. Happy we were able to bring our dog. We did 2 wine tastings. The wine was fine, I did not purchase any bottles, and I don’t think I would order a glass of any of them. The best thing about our experience was the live music followed by the beautiful views. A great venue for larger groups, but if it’s just you and a date, check out Wolf Gap Winery (smaller more quaint venue about 15 min away).

We had a great time. Very family oriented. Friendly and courteous staff. The charcuterie is great with wine pairings. Awesome spot with great views. We will definitely come back any season!

The wines, location, and staff are all top notch. We’ll be back.

Worth the visit! The wine is delicious, got the wine tasting. The drive up was very fun and the tasting room is very comfortable and classy. Love this place!

Good wine, very rude staff.. I visited this winery on Memorial Day with three other guests. The wine is very good however the friendliness of the staff leaves something to be desired. We arrived early and purchased appx &70 worth of wine. We were seated outside enjoying the day when we were approached by a server who politely informed us that the live free music event was about to begin and that we would have to vacate our seats without having tickets at a specific time. We informed him that we would be leavng shortly. Apx 5 minutes later a female employee approached us rudely stating that we would have to leave at 2pm due to the live music. I then informed her that we had 15 minutes and that we would be leaving shortly. The woman then proceeded to angrily glare at me. My wife and I are Shenandoah Co residents and she recently paid for a membership at this vineyard. I am all about supporting local businesses during these hard times however I will not be supporting this place anymore. Needless to say we were also overcharged for our purchase. My wife returned to the front door of the business to have the order corrected and the same woman greeted Herat the door asking what she needed. There are so many great vineyards in Shenandoah Co, I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

Very nice vineyard. Enjoyed the grounds and very friendly staff. Tastings were fun and we really got a nice selection of their wines.

Awful experience. Stopped at the door for not having a mask, something I can't wear due to missing part of a lung. So here is the deal....tasting room is empty, everyone outside but you must wear a mask to walk 12 feet maximum to the counter where you take it off to order/taste???? Can we say ridiculous? So we asked if we could just be served outside?? Answer was an abrupt NO! So....we left. End if story. No plans to ever return.

Kelly Sherwood

Great little winery. One of the owners greeted us as we came in. The girl who did our tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful setting- if it were warmer and sunny, we would have enjoyed some wine outdoors. All the wines are blends, but they’re all great. Be careful getting here over the one lane bridge!

Merry Fredrick

Great vineyard- definitely recommend the trip from DC. The tasting room offers some food options and the happy hour from 4-8pm was great with the sunset views of the Shenandoah Valley. My family and I also enjoyed the self guided walking tour of the property. Will recommend this place to all my friends!

Updated to 4; came back, and no short staff, no long waits! Wine is very good as is the food. Really 3.5...come for the wine, and be prepared to stand in line for 15 to 20 mins during busy hours. Wine is a 4, service is a 2. Employees are short staffed when it comes to ordering, and the rest of the staff are short to the point of being rude. The food selection is good but it takes a while to get it. Hopefully they will reevaluate their tasting room operations to make it more efficient.

Dan Becker

Nice atmosphere and the wines are good. We were referred here from the lady at Shenandoah Winery. Clio was very, very good and Petit Verdot was also quite nice. Worth your time and recommended, but some of the other area wineries feel a bit more personal in the experience.

Tim McBroom

Loved it! We spend a spectacular automn afternoon there today!! Went to the bridge and had a flight of wines with a beatiful sunset!

Meghan Holt

Lori Groundwater

Very relaxing place. Nice outdoor with tables and lounge chairs. Children are welcome. Customer service could be better. Specially for greetings customer. Very cold. No hello or welcome. No explanation or small talk about the wine. We got a paper from the bar that gives us some details about the wine. The tasting was good and great Charcuterie board.

Beautiful grounds however had bad service when we were there. Came for a tasting which website says “tastings now open” and then replied that they were only selling by the bottle. When inquired the response from a staff member was “well I guess they need to change it.” Very rude service overall.

Loved this winery! They have amazing wines. Some of my favorites were the Pichet and Clio, but really, most of them were great. I recommend getting the wine flight to taste several. The food items were good too. The hummus made with boiled peanuts was different and delicious.

The wine is amazing! And it's totally local! The tasting has pretty generous samples and they give you a list so you don't have to try and figure out what you're tasting. I also really enjoyed the food, if you can get a brownie, do it! It's reasonably priced and the atmosphere is very laid back. Dog and kid friendly (although the menu is a bit fancy for small kids, pack snacks). The view is beautiful and you're allowed to explore, respectfully of course. The staff was super busy but still manged to be friendly and engaging with each customer.

Faye Henry

What an awesome vineyard!! Great wines! Great service!! Very clean and modern facility. The walk around the vineyard was beautiful and the "Hanging Bridge" was one of a kind experience. Well worth the trip! Highly recommend!!

Kai Zeyher

We came here for my bachelorette. We had a reservation and were treated as though we didn’t. While we were ordering, we overheard them telling another reservation that they were going to move people to accommodate them. The customer service was severely lacking. The only saving grace was the views were nice and the wine was decent.

Glenn Waite

Very nice location with outdoor seating and some limited food options. I enjoyed a nice afternoon for my birthday with my husband tasting the wine and both of sampling the Chicken Caesar salad offered that day.

Beautiful vineyard and building! The drive in is unique and the land is very well-maintained. Great wine and customer service. There is also a trail with different areas of the vineyard to explore.

Great service. Wines were good but not great... that said, they do have great wines but they were not available when we viaite6

Carolyn Moomaw Chilton

Great service, atmosphere and quality. Very knowledgeable pourer, Andrew!!

My girlfriends and I came to Muse randomly as we wanted to just do some wine tasting . Unfortunately they weren’t offering tastings by the time we got there , but we still stayed and enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine . The night we went , there was actually a jazz trio playing there as well . The environment was wonderful and I would love to visit there again .

Bryan Schauer

Great wine and food, beautiful views, covid precautions strong. Last mile of the road is not paved and only about a car and a half wide.

Very drinkable wines at great prices. Gorgeous tasting room. Dog friendly to the max. Will be returning.

Gorgeous scenery and wonderful selection of wine. The flight of wine is 100% worth it . Food is made in house and delicious!

Andres Mendoza

Wonderful experience.

Great spot in the country. Reasonable priced wines at a modern tasting room. Met Sally the owner and she was very welcoming and appreciative of the business

Sarah Eyler

Beautiful scenery, nice wine , dog friendly.

Bob Hoagland

Great winery! Make the trip from DC more often than I'd like to admit. I recommend getting a bottle of the Clio with the charcuterie board. Right now, they're offering indoor and outdoor seating (with fire)! Beautiful river with rope bridge down the hill. Mountain views. When it's warm, you can take a dip in the water. Can't recommend Muse enough!

Equestrian Wanderlust

Extremely rude associate in the tasting room. Told us we MUST wear a mask to walk 6 steps to the counter and remove it. Would not accommodate us by at least serving us outside. We had planned to join the wine club. But no way. We will never go back.

Mark Lundquist

Some of the finest VA wines. Super location along the river.

Andrew Cook

Our first time visiting this winery and bringing our out of town guest. Bad/no signage at street/bridge entrance. Couldn’t figure out where entrance was located. At the tasting counter we greeted staff and said “... it’s our first time here..”. Got no welcome, history, just the auto pilot pitch about the wine tasting. It was full of customers ... but not overly crowded. We ordered food and the tattooed waiter didn’t bring enough plates. We asked him for more only to be waved at as he walked away ...Very disappointing service. It was lovely setting, food/pizza was great! We enjoyed the hiking and novelty of the suspension walking bridge.

We stopped at several wineries and this one is excellent! Awesome views, good wine, and good snacks. The patio downstairs offers comfy couches and heat lamps and lots of space.

Lauren Funkhouser

Great location, and a wide variety of wines-- I think the ones we had during our (free*!) wine flight were all good offerings ranging from mild and simple, to robust and complex. Planning on stopping by again on our 2-week getaway!

When visiting the Shenandoah valley on our honeymoon we stopped by Muse. We each had a flight and shared the cheese ball, pork bbq cornbread and lentil soup. It’s not often you can sit on the deck in February but it was a beautiful day and Muse is so perfectly situated between the mountains. Highly recommend!

Michael Walton

Was not property welcomed. Simply asked if I had a reservation; website does not state it is necessary. No small talk, said they could squeeze us in at a table for two hours and asked for a credit card. We said it was our first time and the lady said we have flights or bottles with no explanation of the wines. Disappointed.

We love this place. Day time lunch from the top deck, fall fire pits, date nights, bringing the kids and snacking at the picnic tables whatever it’s always fun. There is something for everyone! The food sets this place a part! It’s amazing!!!!! Very reasonable price wise and always changing! A little fancy but I like that. Besides the amazing food the views are breathtaking especially in the winter! The indoor fire is charming when you can’t enjoy the outside. Again love this place! It’s became very popular so make a reservation!

Matthew Sheaffer

Very good wine, great setting, nice facility and excellent service. We enjoy it every time we're there.

Jerry Moore

We visited Muse 5 years ago shortly after they opened. We were impressed with growth and maturity of the wine selections. We also found the food selection delicious.

Peter Phillips

Have been wanting to come and visit Muse for sometime now and finally had the opportunity and I’m so glad that I did! Teresa was our server and she was very patient, thorough and knowledgeable. All of the wines in our tasting were amazing and then we settled on a glass of the new 2019 Erato and 2016 Clio with our warm Brie with chutney. The whole experience was amazing and we’ll be planning a return trip.

Mil Wallen

Chill place with nice vineyard views.

While probably one of the better Mid-Atlantic vinyards we've visited, as with most, wines not a good value. They do a commendable job with their Petite Verdon and Clio blend.

Eric

Once you complete the rugged drive up the mountain and over the one car bridge, you emerge on a modern vineyard. Nice selection of wines. Lots of seating areas.

Hector “Tito” Otero

If you’re planning to come here.. make sure it’s not when they’re hosting an event.. there was 20 minutes before their private event started and they refused to allow my wedding party to buy any wine (to take home). I (as well as my 12 bridesmaids) will never return here ever again. Every other winery in the area was so welcoming and so supportive of every other vineyard in the area.. I’d prefer to go to Wolf Gap, Kindred Point and Cave Ridge EVERY day of the week.

Phil Selleck

A real surprise to find a place like this down an old country road. We will be back.

Crystal Luna

Great hospitality and delicious wine. Excellent backdrop of fall foliage on the hike around the vineyard.

Jesse K

It was a great experience! Our server was gracious, patient and super sweet. The wines are top notch and taste like there was a lot of effort put into them. The meat and cheese plate was delicious! May I recommend the Cabernet Franc with the manchego cheese. They have a huge property with a wine trail and beautiful scenery. Best part? You can bring your dog! But please keep your pet on a leash (rule should apply anywhere). Stop in if you’re traveling or just around the corner. The only con (if there is one) is that during the summer hours there can be a lot of kids depending on the day but if parents are responsible this shouldn’t impact your visit.

Yesterday was my 4th visit to Muse Vineyards. While I absolutely love the setting, the wine, the food and the ambiance, yesterday I was disappointed. My son and I arrived for a Mother’s Day celebration at 1:00 pm. They weren’t bustling yet. The server made us feel hurried. She appeared impatient with us. I felt like I was in a checkout line at Walmart. The charcuterie plate was heavily laden with nuts and dried cranberries, it was quite unattractive. I thought well 3 is a charm but 4, maybe the magic wore off. Then while we were leaving and crossing the bridge, we did not notice a car on the other side. It was hidden by the new leaves on the trees. The driver on the opposite side came forward aggressively towards our car in his car. We had to get in reverse as fast as we could and nearly drove off of the bridge backwards. It was quite frightening. Needless to say, words were exchanged. A Mother’s Day not to be forgotten.

Ron Hamrick

My boyfriend and I LOVED this vineyard. The facilities are very modern, and the entire property is dog loving should you decide to bring your pup. Your dog can come inside with you, hang outside on the upper or lower decks, or picnic on the front lawn. Amazing views of the mountains and vineyard, delicious wine, and tasty fresh made food. They allow you to walk around the property which is nice especially since there is fun and very instagrammable swinging bridge crossing a small river. The young woman working at the bar was very welcoming and was doing a fantastic job! They provide pretty generous pours for the tasting flights too. Some places literally just provide a splash of their wines. MUSE had more red wines than white wines, but that was okay for us considering they were all delicious. Hopefully we can visit again soon!

Michael X

We like the atmosphere and the staff. Good wines, but all very dry. The menu eas abbreviated with little to choose from. The Salmon Brushetta was excelent.

Hands down my favorite collection of VA wines. Staff were knowledgeable and polite. The setting is beautiful. The owners are personable and humble. I would describe my visit as relaxing and pleasant. We loved it so much that we became Club Members (our first).

If you like good wine from the state of Virginia, you have to visit Muse. The spectacular views are a huge bonus!

We negotiated a one-lane bridge and hair pin turns and it was worth it. If you're driving anything more than 21 ft in terms of an RV park it and walk

Stopped in during a February hiking trip in the area. Was impressed with the new tasting room. Every wine we tasted was excellent. Bought my favorite bottle. When I went to open the bottle, I wasn't pleased with the taste and contacted the staff. I got an immediate and friendly response from Muse who quickly sent a replacement bottle that arrived in 48 hours. Definitely will be stopping through again the next time we are in the area and highly recommend to anyone traveling through.

Jamie Tran

Diana Anglero

Not a lot of single-varietal wines. They only had one white wine the day we visited. And it was June. It was a so-so blend. Their prize red blend, Clio, is nice. But at $10 a glass/$36 a bottle, you can get better reds at a cheaper price in the area. It's an impressive venue that's difficult to get to. Worth seeing at any rate.

Brian Johnson

Great wine and great atmosphere! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Visiting MUSE Vineyards brought back memories of Healdsburg in Sonoma, Chateau Serene in the Willamette Valley and GIVRY in France. Each with their special ambience and beauty and each with excellent red wines. The MUSE Petite Verdot offered a special surprise with its deep purple color and surprising smoothness usually not found in this variety. The view of the Shenandoah Valley and its the North Fork offered a therapeutic dividend that was well worth the visit by itself. Regards, Stephen M.

Went to visit Muse Vinyards for the first time yesterday and it was such a great experience! Awesome wine, food, and service with a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy it all. Also had the pleasure of meeting Tori, one of their wine tasting attendants. She was so sweet and down to earth! Definitely recommend Muse to anyone checking out wineries in the area.

Very relaxing and a big flight!!

Great wine- Great people- Great property

Joleen Borden

Good white wines on a beautiful summers day.

Tracy Roth

So this winery is mainstream af - best thing about it is the drive to it across the creek and food. The charcuterie board was great (substituting salami for cheese - yeah it’s me, yo). Lady pouring seemed a little condescending that we don’t eat meat, but she sweetened up when she saw our dog. Good people, good service - great food! The wines are good, but not stellar and have that mainstream quantity over quality taste. Worth a stop for lunch and sharing a flight - perhaps a bottle or two.

Beautiful scenic views near sunset, lots of indoor and outdoor seating for spring summer and fall and their wines are wonderful and unique. The Clio is a balanced and vibrant red that pairs well with many menu items

A lovely place to enjoy great friends and great wine... The staff was very welcoming and helpful.. Looking forward to our next visit

Linda Swanson

Went to this winery, just to get ran out by the customer service. The customer service was terrible and far from what I expected after reading so many reviews. I highly recommend that if you plan to go to this winery, do not just stop in because you will not be recognized unless you are a regular/member or have a reservation. Our group was about 10 people, and because we didn't have reservations we were kicked out of inside, "encouraged" to close our tabs early, and waited on completely last. Our group had food and at least 3-4 bottles of wine. I will not be coming back and will not be recommending this winery to any of the guests that come to the hotel I work for.

Paul H

Spectacular wine and service. I've never been to a wine tasting where I enjoyed every single wine! Beautiful, breathtaking views. Sally (owner), Teresa, and ms. Jazz were so friendly. If you're new to the area, visit this place first. Absolutely loved it

BEAUTIFUL PLACE. Full of gorgeous art, vineyard views, a swing foot bridge over the river, hand crafted tables made wood from the property and very kind owner. Wines are pretty good too! A bit drier than I like... white wine drinkers will love this place (my husband). Sometimes you wonder if you should vineyard hop, or stay at one place and enjoy a few glasses. In hindsight, we should have stayed here and enjoyed a few glasses :) Brides-to-be should also check out this property!

This is our second time visiting Muse and it won't be our last. The staff is so nice and chill. The food and wine is delicious and the atmosphere is visually pleasing. A perfect quick get-away.

Let's start by saying that on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, Muse Vineyards rates a 10! The setting for the Winery is stunning situated in the Shenandoah Valley. To work up an appetite, we first took their nearly 2 mile hike through the vineyards and surrounding area. Back in the tasting room we sampled all 7 wines on offer and we had several food selections including charcuterie board, soup, pulled pork, smoked salmon and cheese ball. The food was delicious and presented with a flair. All wines were wonderful especially the Petit Verdot and the Cleo Bordeaux Blend. The prices are the best around. Between us we bought a case (20% discount = member prices). The average price was under $24 per bottle!!! And, those were all reds!! In summary, a wonderful gem of a winery in the beautiful Shenandoah. You will not be disappointed!

Another first visit - enjoyed a reasonably priced, 5-wine flight tasting varietals new to me. We enjoyed a wonderful charcuterie board which enhanced our tasting. A must visit for any wine lover or even those new to wine that want nice ambiance and excellent customer service. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable about the wines & the property and had a great charismatic personality. We liked every wine on the tasting menu .... Quite a rarity. Can't wait to visit again. We also indulged in one each of the meat and cheese offerings while enjoying a bottle inside the tasting room. Excellent all around. I'd also recommend exploring the property for a few fun surprises.

Nice place for light food and wine. Need to cross a one lane bridge over a river and winding narrow road.

Christian Taylor

We had another delightful time at Muse. The food is delicious, and Josh, the chef, is very creative with both taste sensations and presentation. Muse wine is excellent, having a varied selection in which to choose, or have a flight for your palate. The staff and co- owner, Sally, are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend.
