Great place. Spacious environment. Close to other wineries. My wife and I ubered up and walked around on a pleasant day. I can't remember our hosts name but she was really friendly
The whole experience was very odd. We arrived and sat outside which was fine even though it was about 100 degrees. We were greeted and brought a welcome glass of wine. We put in our order for our first tasting and in the meantime a table opened inside so we went in the air conditioner. The Sommelier came back over and said “what’s next” (he explained that he was new which was fine.) When we told him we didn’t get any tastings yet he insisted that we did. He kept saying we tried the Chardonnay and in fact we had not. So we explained the whole situation that we moved inside and then insisted again that we were on our second or third tasting even though we hadn’t even started. He proceeded to say that he believed me and that maybe my mom had started and she was two drinks in. So she started and I sat there? Then he stated she had a white when in fact she ordered all reds. He finally went to go check and realized he had poured our tastings but left them at the bar and never brought them over. He did give my mom an extra tasting for the inconvenience but then included that in the 4 she was supposed to get, but not me. Not that I was expecting anything. Maybe you should have tasting cards or punch cards Bc no one seems to know what drink you’re on. Or they are just very confused in general.
Our wine expert Michelle really made our experience. The wine flavors were complex, bold, and delicious. Michelle was very knowledgeable, personable and professional. Would recommend to friends.
We had a wonderful time at Markham Vineyards! The staff was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We felt like we were guests at their fancy home! If you visit, make sure to say hello to Rina and Sophia! Top Notch Staff! Now, let's talk wine, the wine was phenomenal. So much so that I joined the wine delivery service and have been enjoying their delicious Rose and Chardonnay in the comforts of my home. I look forward to my next shipment. Don't hesitate, visit Markham Vineyards when you're in Napa!!!
Met up with a friend who had just moved to California and a perfect place to introduce him to California wines. It was quiet for a Saturday morning, which was great! Beautiful setting in and out of this easy to get to winery. Mr. T was our Master of knowledge. It was my friend's first time experiencing a winery. A wind guide was super friendly and even gave us a tour of the place, with a little history lesson! I ended up getting membership, which doesn't happen often. Great reds for a reasonable price and the staff was amazing!
Markham is one of my favorite wineries in Napa.
This ended up being one of our favorite wineries to visit in Napa. We made a reservation knowing little about the winery and because it was close to another winery we were visiting. Scott was our tasting host and he was WONDERFUL. He's a wealth of knowledge about both the wine and the local history. He personal touch and stories added what many of the wineries were missing, an engaging and interesting experience. Because of him we will absolutely be back, probably multiple times. And we bought some lovely wine.
Booked a semi-private tour out of San Francisco and just stopped here for an AMAZING tour!!! Great wine! So much fun!

Great wine, great atmosphere. Sophia walked us through our tasting. She was a fantastic host. What struck a cord with us was how passionate she was about the process involved in the production of their wine. We learned about some of the history behind the company, their process, and their goals for the future. Its apparent they take care of their employees and keep them involved. Thanks for a great evening Sophia!
awesome place, great wine and very nice tour guide
Good place, and was dog friendly
FAR Exceeded our expectations! We have been visiting Napa Valley for nearly 30 years and my wife and I typically try to visit smaller and more boutique wineries where we have found the best wines and opportunities to learn about wines in a more intimate setting. We tend to spend a lot of time in St. Helena/ Spring Mountain and Stags Leap, but we are always searching for new discoveries having visited well over 40+ vineyards over the years here. This last Saturday we added Markham as the last stop of the day around 3:15PM (yes we had made an appointment, which they require in advance) and were warmly greeted by tasting room manager Jake and Lauren behind the bar. We sat safely outside and we selected from 4 different wines on the extensive list. Let me cut to the chase by saying unequivocally that EVERY SINGLE wine we all tasted was a 90+ in terms of taste and INCREDIBLE VALUE. There wasn't a single disappointment in the bunch. We all LOVED their Rose as a launch point, and their reds without exception had superb structure, color, and nice fruit without being a typical Napa fruit (too high alcohol) bomb. Wow - we did not expect this level of quality - and we were all won over by the delicious flavor profiles. Manager Jake was extremely helpful - he knew about each wine, and made recommendations based on our preferences (not his). What was also unique was the opportunity to select which wines you wanted in your assortment of 4 pours within the flight - and holy cow, such an excellent value. Jake answered our questions - this man knew his stuff, with many years in the business yet he was never pretentious. At too many Napa wineries these days you sometimes get the feeling that the folks serving you are just going through the motions - reciting their scripts, or not really engaging with what YOU the customer like to drink. This is where we all felt that Jake and his Markham crew really excelled - in making you feel welcomed warmly, and serving you wines that match your tastes. Bottom line is Markham wines won us over big time - because they were ALL damn yummy!!! DID NOT EXPECT THE WINES TO BE THIS FABULOUS! We simply did not expect this high a quality of juice from a medium production vineyard (that apparently goes way back to 1879!) that would typically not be on our boutique radar screens! But yes (as I keep repeating) - we were all impressed as hell with what is happening at Markham. We took home an assortment of 6 bottles including their Rose, a wonderful Petite Syrah, a cabernet and a very unique & floral dessert Muscat. I suggest adding Markham to your Napa day as I expect you will also find that it is a dynamite & delicious stop! Without a doubt, we will be returning the next time were are in town as this is a serious destination if you love your vino and seek value for the $.
Stopped in while driving by, definitely worth a visit! Very good wine and a knowledgeable staff.
Great wine
Great experience! Excellent Wine!
Always a great place to stop by (appointments required). Our server was great. Interacted with us and made it a wonderful experience. Thanks to Markham and staff!
Great history, incredible tasting experience, so excited to go back!
Helpful and friendly staff. Multiple options for tasting.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Two for one deal was great. They even threw in an extra wine, just because it was open. Worth a visit.

If you're looking for great reds, merlots, above all, and a friendly atmosphere in the heart of Napa, this is your place
Great staff
A Serious Vinter!!! Our last stop on the Napa Valley Trolley tour was 'Markham Vineyards'. This stop was perfect for me as I'm from Markham Ontario in Canada. What a treat, eh? From the moment you drive in and take in the meticulously laid out landscaping and the classic architecture of the stone buildings, you know this place is serious. Markham Vineyards is one of the oldest Napa Valley Wineries which encompasses four separate vineyards with over 350 acres of grapes. This Winemaker means business!! We arrived at the large courtyard made from stone and entered one of the tasting areas. Our hosts that afternoon were very pleasant and knowledgeable about wines and the history of Markham Vineyards. We were very fortunate to try a selection of very well made reds and whites. Note to tasters!! I stood at the front of my tour group and as our hosts spoke about the various wines we were tasting, they kept handing me glasses of wine which I was more than happy to accept. The room in which we had the tasting is massive. There literally thousands of barrels of wine stacked, which truly captures the magnitude of the wine this winery produces. It really is a spectacle to behold. Our hosts lead us through the rest of the tour answering questions and pointing out some of the vintages and some of the newer wines. We finished our tour with a trip to the wine/gift shop where I was very fortunate to get my hands on one of the rarer wines that were about to be discontinued for sale. Luckily since it couldn't be found on the newer price sheets they guesstimated the price, so I got a really nice bottle of wine for an excellent price, and I got a couple more bottles of red to take back home with me. This is an amazing winery and I highly recommend it as part of your next visit to Napa.
The lady that served us was very kind! Definitely would go back.
Amazing setting, beautiful art gallery and I really enjoyed the wine tasting. Will for sure be back for the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Always a great visit. They are always are so nice and knowledgeable. Great wine and atmosphere. We will continue to go back.
This place is fantastic. Try their Cab Franc & their 'Frenchie'. Ask for Nick - he is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and a terrific host. Note - don't forget to reserve ahead, due to COVID they have extremely limited tasting times. You will not be disappointed.
Very nice. Wines good. Sommelier was helpful but very young.
Cool artwork here. Great place for private events and dinners.
Great wines. Merlot is the best. Cabernet Sauvignon is softer and less dry then the most.
Just the best atmosphere in Sonoma/Napa
Wonderful people and wine.
Our last stop on our vacation. Sofia was our hostess for our taste testing. Such a lovely lady and very knowledgeable about the wines she was serving. Thank you for ending our vacation on a high note. Also the wines were yummy
This was a lovely winery. Added touch: it's also an art gallery! Interesting albeit brief tour, highlighting the vast differences among the soil types in the region. Loved the Petit Syrah!!
Great wine! Great ppl!
Excellent service and wine, definitely deserves 5 stars!
Great location and nice sommeliers. Jack was super friendly and recommended great places and wines to us. Selection is also quite nice.
Very good!!!
Worst customer service. The lady that seems to be the manager was nasty with her employee.
I'm a driver for a tour company and they always take care of my customers.
We had an incredible experience at Markham and even signed up for the wine club. Nigel Cartwright (an easy name to remember, lol) was helpful with our tasting, generous and fun. This wine was excellent! And it wasn't crazy overpriced like so many places (I noticed some other wineries had higher prices than a store for buying their wines onsite, which I found kinda annoying). Looking forward to drinking our purchases. Thanks again, Nigel!
Friendly staff, okay wines. Not as expensive as others in the area.
Excellent wines at reasonable prices
Scott was our Sommelier. The absolute best wine tasting experience I have had in 30 years! Joined the club and will continue to return! His wealth of knowledge about history, soil and of course wine was so interesting and enjoyable!
Wine is always good. Staff knows their stuff and cannot be more friendly.
We go to there this Sunday, the environment is awesome, then a female host is knowledgeable and provides excellent service, and wines we taste are quality with reasonable prices. We would recommend Markham Vineyard to friends!
I love this place. Friendly people and great wine that you can afford to buy!
Relaxing and quiet place to get some glass of wine. We had a wonderful experience with Laura! Describe what wine you like and she will get you exactly what you will love! I recommend to get some Can Franc ,Zinfandel 2016,Cab (Yountville) .We also enjoyed other reds! Thank you Laura for a wonderful experience ! We will get back soon!
Wine really depends on individual tastes, but didn't really enjoy any of the wine here. Staff is friendly.
Avoid like the plague. We were wine club members, sight unseen, as we loved the wine, and made an appointment to come in on Mother's Day at 2pm. At 11am I called to push back our reservation to 3pm, as our lunch/travel was going to take longer than normal. Sophia, whom I spoke with, told me that they don't normally push back reservations, but would make the exception for us. At 2:30, as we were about ten minutes out, I received a call and was told that they were cancelling our reservation. I explained the situation and what I was told by Sophia, and was given a half-hearted response that they were understaffed and that their hands were tied. So due to the mismanagement of personnel and being understaffed, Markham was singlehandedly responsible for spoiling what was an otherwise great Mother's Day. I can't recommend this place to anyone,
Delicious muscato (not too sweet) and rose of Pinot. Cab Franc was amazing as well. Nice staff took good care of us! Thank you!
Staff is perfectly amazing and the wine is outstanding!
Even though Sophia seemed skeptical of my South Florida winery knowledge, we really enjoyed our wine tasting with her (lol). For my first time in Napa Valley, I’m so happy that we chose this winery and that Sophia was our senior wine educator. Markham Vineyards definitely needs to be a place you visit!
Harvest Dinner was EXCELLENT! Food was delicious, ambiance qas extravagant and company was hilarious. Will be back next year for sure.
Great service and even better wines!!!
On a hot summer day in August, our car broke down. Less than a full block away from the vineyard. I had to push my vehicle off to the side of the road. I had my child with me. I was overheated overwhelmed and frustrated. I had a stressed out child with me. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Markham. They offered us cold water and a place to sit. On top of all else my phone was dead. They allowed me to use their phone to make arrangements to have my car taken care of. They couldn't have been more kind and calming to us both. Smelled pretty great in there too ???? Thank you so much to the staff on site that day.
Really nice wines, including a petit verdot. We had a dinner here worth a conference, and the food was great. Very nice staff.
Lovely winery. The dual fountains and mini koi ponds welcome you as you walk towards the tasting room. The tall wood doors and spacious modern minimalist tasting room interiors are inviting. It's a nice airy place to enjoy some good wine. My favorites were the Petit Syrah and Philanthropist cabs. The chard was pretty good too - oaky and buttery unlike other Napa chards. I definitely recommend this as a stop if you're in the St. Helena area.
So nice!
Wonderful wine and great atmosphere. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was fairly quiet due to COVID. Making reservations was easy and staff was great. The prices are pretty reasonable to. Laura helped us out and was great to talk to! She told us about the history of Markham and all about St. Helena. She was absolutely wonderful!!! We really enjoyed our time with her and learning all about the wines. The merlot is fantastic!
Great History and Host is knowledgeable about different wines. Would recommend to others to visit
