Here you have the opinions of people who have information of the products and services of Mari Vineyards (Winery) in Wabana area (Canada).
Right now this business has a score of 4.5 out of 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is practically the highest, and it is founded on a high number of reviews, so we can think that the assessment is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to give their score when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to place tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Winery.
Mari Vineyards is one of my favourite wineries to visit when vacationing in Traverse City, but this visit was a bit of disappointment. The wine was as amazing as usual, but the service was not great. Had a better experience during Covid.
The staff is great but the quality and diversity of their wines is absolutely phenomenal!
Loved the wine tasting experience! Thanks for the fun time and delicious wine (:
We went here on Labor day there were probably 8 people total in the place. We came in to get a glass of wine and we're completely ignored for about 20 minutes. We just left without even being acknowledged. The sad part is that we live on Old Mission and will not go here again or bring our guests here. Go to Bowers Harbor!! No matter how busy, they are always friendly and accommodating!!
My new favorite vintners on the old mission peninsula!!!!
Terrible service, the wait staff was very rude. Also, the wine wasn’t as good as other wineries in the area. As someone who visits Traverse City multiple times a year, I will not be returning.
Great views !! Very friendly staff !!
Great atmosphere, wonderful wine. Top service!
Call first. Had some confusion with hours of operation on the recorded phone line versus actual hours. Posted hours were open until 7pm, we arrived at 6:30. Door locked. Employees inside told us they were closed. We went to Bonobo, which was awesome. Multiple fireplaces, grand piano playing, friendly staff, great food.
A very impressive space with a lot of outdoor seating area. Their wines tend toward the drier side, but can accommodate almost all palettes. It’s a bit higher-end but you don’t need to be overly dressed in order to visit. All the servers and staff were very knowledgeable about the wines and can be very helpful with decision making, so don’t be afraid to ask!
Beautiful winery. The staff was excellent, very accommodating.
Certainly improving in reds and red blends from my visit 4 years ago. My wife found a new favorite white as well! Practiced safety well. Had a flight and left with a couple bottles. Will be back!
Had an excellent experience at Mari's vineyard this weekend. Met Renee, a very knowledgeable wine representative. She made our tasting interesting and personalized. I also love the atmosphere there. I will definitely go back and thinking about doing their vineyard your.
Legit wines and service
Callie is awesome!
Amazing experience. Do the full tour. Worth it!
My wife and I did the private tour with Sue, who has worked for Mari since the winery opened for tours. She was informative and we never felt rushed. The tasting was good, and very nice wines.
My favorite red wines in Northern Michigan! Great views as well.
Knowledgeable staff and fun place to try wine. Did not know we had to book tours of the caves in advance, but look forward to exploring more when we return. Side note: the truffle crackers they sell here are super addictive!
Wow that view.
This will be our annual vineyard of choice for sure! Especially to say hi to our new friend Rene! Mari is a great place to experience that rustic modern Itilian atomosphere with top notch wine and great views overlooking the big lake! Make sure to add Mari to your list if you have not already done so!
Beautiful surroundings, great view, incredible building and the best wines on our tour of Michigan shores and the peninsula regions. The meat and cheese platter was perfect with our wine. The staff was knowledgeable and the gift shop offered us nice shirts and more. The only thing missing was Marty we are huge Curse of Oak Island fans.
Friendly staff and great views.
Great wine service very good .great atmosphere & view t
Excellent atmosphere with very friendly, personable staff. They were also handling the covid restrictions extremely well.
Good vinery, friendly stuff, great view, we sat at the fireplace, grounds are beautiful. I definitely recommend to stop by
very cool !
My friends and I randomly visited this winery on a busy labor day weekend! If you want a table, please make a reservation in advance. ???? We didn't have one, fortunately there was a no show group and we ended up having a 1hr table and enjoyed spectacular views of the lake, the vineyards and a beautiful vibrant crowd. I really liked the Praefectus/Bordeaux style. That right there was a tasty grape, dark red and smooth! I was actually surprised. I highly recommend this place. Our host was great! They were all so nice and informative. I'll be back soon Mari. This time with a reservation so I can actually try more????. Thanks for having us.
Host service was horrible. It was our first time here and had kiddos so wanted to sit at the tables outside. I asked for a picnic table and she seemed to not know what I was talking about. After walking around for a min she came back and said we could pick any picnic table, but they seem to go fast. (There were 3 open without any problem getting one.) Could have been a cooler experience for sure. The wineries north seemed like a more fun experience!
This place has a beautiful patio and a wonderful view of the water! The wine was good. My favorite was the rosato. Definitely check this place out!
Best of MI if you like dry red blends
What a wonderful vineyard. We definitely enjoyed the wine and service. Definitely will be back! Andy was our server & he was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly.
No public sampling. Need reservations. $10.00 a glass though.
Beautiful place we will be back.
Nice cozy winery in winter with knowledgeable staff and delicious munching. Would definitely recommend cherry chipotle sauce! Go by staff recommendation for wines!
Great wines. View is awesome!
Just took the tour, which was a private tour just my husband and myself. Lisa, was our guide, and she was amazing, as well as the rest of the staff. The tour was informative, and Lisa was very friendly and personable. The wines were amazing, we had to buy a couple bottles. Very impressed! Thank you Mari Vineyards!
Beautiful winery and view. Pleasant staff and very good wine.
Outstanding facility. Knowledgeable staff. Excellent wine
Fantastic wine, great music, friendly service.
Great views and that is where it ends. The atmosphere is cold by the staff it wasn't warm and friendly. I understand with the "covid" things have changed but this was a big let down for our group. We wouldn't come back
The staff was very rude. We are from southern Michigan and went out of our way to go there. For such a beautiful place your staff was very rude. We will not be back.
Just my opinion, but for anyone not from the area having to buy a glass of something before you can taste or at least order a flight is not that great. I know its due to COVID, but it felt as if no effort was made to make accommodations. At least outside, seeing as noone can be inside.
In my top 3 for best bold reds in TC/Leelanau. I'm local and make a point to bring most guests here, especially my roommate from college that shares my love for the local wines. We decided your Troglodyte was the best of both our tastes! Also, your charcuterie board is usually one of the best too!
Beautiful place with delicious wine. Our host Frank was courteous, professional and knew the product very well.
So far this is my favorite winery here. And I can't believe I did not take any photos here. It is beautiful driving up to Mari and once you arrive the view from their patio is spectacular. Once you walk in, the bar is very spacious. The tastings offered here are pretty standard but over all it was worth the trip. If you prefer white wines or blush wines this is the place to go.
Great staff.
Tested the wine ????- it was great! Loved that I could see the lake, sit outside by a fire or enjoy being inside. Love the wine sippy cups and bought a couple of bottles. Just disappointed that there weren't any adult Oak Island T-shirts except small and kids sizes. The young man working there said they weren't ordering any more for another month ????. We're huge fans and would have liked purchasing them at the winery.
Nice view, the chardonnay was decent. We went there because we had our dog but were quickly told to not allow people to approach him. Then we went through a rigorous covid training exercise. Instructions were clear, go find one of their 4 ft painted areas in the weeds and sit. Only there you could remove your mask. Most unpleasant.
Terrible experience, standing in line and was told to put a mask on when nobody is near us? Yet people can walk back up to drop their glasses off without a mask, never coming back. pS, their wine sucks
Great wines, really nice staff, and fantastic views
Very awesome. Madi our tour guide was great.
Ordered the Pinot online and had it delivered to Cleveland. Excellent service, arrived quickly and safely. The wine itself was one of the better Pinots I've tried, just the right amount of sweetness and dryness. Going to try and make it a point to visit when I'm in the area next.
Waited a little over 30 minutes after being seated and never was served or greeted by our server….. after 30 minutes of waiting we left. I don’t recommend and I was really looking forward to this stop because of the history and view. I wouldn’t recommend.
I love being a part of the Amazing team at Mari Vineyards!
Only way to purchase wine is at their location? Seriously? Ridiculous for a new company trying to create a customer base. Tried multiple times to purchase online as well as over phone to no avail. Was told I would receive phone call back on more than one occasion and never received phone call back. Very poor customer service for a new company in wine business.
Wish I could've actually been able to see the vineyard. In the description it said tastings on the roof, well since the roof was "overbooked" (made my reservations well in advance) they shoved us in the basement with cheap plastic chairs and plastic tables. It was a complete different ambiance than the upstairs, almost like they put the 'unwanted ones' there. They switched our server about half way through as well. Just wasn't the experience I wish I was going to have, really disappointed.
Beautiful!
Beautiful display setting! Staff was more than helpful today. Will definitely return.
Very cool place with an outstanding view. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting.
Madi is a great wine tasting hostest! She is so knowledgeable and she was so much fun. Greated us with a enthusiastic wave! She's super cute and helpful! The wines are also great but knid of overpriced. The view was amazing!
Fabulous place to sit and relax and taste wine, surrounded by the Vinyards
Great view of the west bay, service was good and loved the 2017 Totus Porcus.
Heard great things about the winery, but we couldn't go because it was being used by a private event. What was frustrating was this small sign telling customers it was closed to the public, so we Ubered there but had to request a new uber to get to the next one. I would suggest putting a sign up in the driveway next time. Also, the waitress was rather rude about how she said "can I help you?" I said we were there for wine samples lol. She then said in a rude way that it was closed to the public. We definitely weren't alone either and there were other confused potential patrons
Excellent wines, service, and atmosphere. Exceptional location and estate-only wines make this a must-see on the Old Mission wine trail.
Didn't like that place, staff had too many restrictions in having a glass of wine, and no wine tasting. Had to make reservations and can only stay 50 minutes at the table.
Very well designed, easy to get to. Enjoyed the wine I tasted and bought.
What was the cheese dip with bread sticks called? It was amazing.
Gorgeous building, great scenery and delicious wines. This vinery became a favorite as soon as we stepped in the place. Very helpful staff, and hospitable service too. Must visit if you are in Michigan.
Beautiful place awesome wine! As we were leaving Alex was pulling in wish we could have meet him! We're both big fans of the Curse of Oak Island! :)
One more Peninsula winery. Dont miss a cellar tour!
Lisa was amazing on our private tour. Phenomenal experience and fantastic wine!! Will never forget today. Thank you so much for your great hospitality and knowledge. We will be back soon!
Had a wonderful experience, beautiful grounds, had so much fun on our tour and tasting thanks to Jessie Mack!
Very nice and a beautiful view. Some great tasting wine.
Love Mari. Probably my new favorite. Awesome view, great wine, great music. Really really nice.
Loved this winery! Amazing reds!
Favorite winery in TC!!
Very nice, great view...
This was a great place to visit and shop. Employees were super friendly and helpful. The place was Immaculate and clean. Lighting was bright and easy on eyes. The view was breathtaking to say the least. Gift shop was excellent. Wine list and products top notch. Bathroom was the cleanest I’ve seen in public. I definitely recommend this place.
Lovely vineyard with good wines, a beautiful view & helpful staff.
Beautiful place. Staff very knowledgeable of the wine. Watch marti show oak island all the time. Seems to be a great place to visit. We enjoyed our selves. Thank you all.
Beautiful building. Short staffed for tasting. Wanted a tour but they turned it down. People next to us went a minute before but was told they were 20 minutes into it already.
Lovely place, great wine.. a little higher priced than other wineries in the area but great experience. If u like driver wines go here, they do not specialize in sweet. Dry whites is there thing.
Bomb there's only two wines that you can buy
Very lovely view and nice tasting wines
Wonderful views of the bay, beautiful building with a great selection.
Very nice staff. Bel Tramonto was excellent. Got to meet Marty !! Nice down to earth guy.
beautiful environment and kind staff!
been to wineries all over the country. You must make a reservation for a tasting?? First for me. Total chaos at this place, pretty area, but not worth the bother.
The entire complex is as stunning as the views. I highly recommend the private tour. What's below ground is interesting and mysterious.
Love Mari! The ambiance is amazing and the wine is even better. Highly recommend taking a tour!
Great wines. Hopefully the labels come in so we can buy the great wines. Beautiful view and great people.
Beautiful view. Gruner Veltliner and Late Harvest Riesling both excellent choices.
I highly recommend visiting this winery. The views are amazing and wine is pretty good also.
Nothing short of breathtaking views of the lake, gardens and rolling vineyards along with excellent wines and welcoming staff. This vineyard wasn't on our tour list, but we were very fortunate to have discovered this amazing "wine lovers" destination.
Had an amazing tour. Josh was very knowledgeable about all the history and where different things came about. The wine is delicious. Would go again and would recommend to everyone I know.
Beautiful grounds overlooking the lake. Stopped by to see Marty’s Mari Vineyards and we were told all wine tastings and tours are by reservation only. Told we could sit on picnic tables though and sent inside to look at “only by the glass” options. Once inside, staff pointed to doors at the end of the bar and said we were to go out the doors to order and sit at a picnic table. We went outside the doors as instructed and we were stopped by staff who scolded us for using the door he said was only for staff. We explained we were told to exit through the doors to order. He proceeded to rudely mumble under his breath and no one would wait on us so we could order wine, neither inside or outside. While all of this was happening the picnic tables filled up and we had no where to sit. All staff are young, and most customers, and we are in our 60’s, so maybe we were experiencing discrimination because of our age, Ageism. Very sad. We moved on down the road to some amazing vineyards with better customer service who don’t discriminate because of age.
Very beautiful place but as far as wine tastings, you get way less than other wineries for a more expensive price.
Spectacular views that make the wine great. Great little tourist area... #upnorth
Great place, great wine!!
Great wine and wow the view..
Great wines! Very pretty views of West Grand Traverse Bay. David who helped us through this UNIQUE POST COVID-19 wine tasting was so amazing! He was knowledgeable, sweet, helpful and such a awesome guy. We enjoyed our time on the patio (although the sun was very, very warm) with our "wine flights" we still had a fun time! Too bad we couldn't meet Marty ????. Music would have been a great idea....
Amazing wine here!! Probably the cleanest/smoothest I've had. Highly recommend doing a tour before the tasting just so you can appreciate the owners work and how detail oriented they really are. Not to mention how sustainable they are too!! The workers there are very personable and knowledgeable as well. The view was beautiful and would be very nice to watch the sunset toward the end of the day.
Always a good time at Mari. We were drawn to the vineyard originally due to the architecture of the building as it reminded us of European vineyards we've visited. Trinet is charming and always takes good care of us and knows what wine we prefer.
Lacking in atmosphere. Ordered a glass of wine...received less than an average glass of wine at any restaurant or wine tasting we've been to. The sommelier lacks knowledge. Will not return. One and done.
Another great visit
Beautiful views of the lake, nicely situated at the top of a hill. Really cool cork artwork. Nice ambience.
Mari Vineyards is the only winery I visit when I travel here! Love the staff!
Great views and good wine. The service was great also.
Facility is breathtaking. They are new, but I approve!
Definitely would recommend. It’s fairly new but they know how to treat their guests and provide a fun, relaxed environment. Love the Italian theme.
Very good red wine. Definitely worth having a glass of wine and looking at the view. I liked the Praefectus 2016.
Loved it! Amazing views and atmosphere. Wine was outstanding. Have wanted to go here for a long time since seeing it on our favorite show The Curse of Oak Island. Made it for our 30th wedding anniversary and a blessing to meet Marty and talked about the show. So excited!!! Will be back in the fall!
The winery has beautiful views but unfortunately once I arrived home the next day I noticed I was triple charged. I have had the issue sorted out with my bank but coupled with less than stellar service I would not recommend this winery. There are plenty of others to choose from with just as breathtaking views, that don’t have the added stress of having to watch my account be charged correctly for a single glass of wine.
Such a classy and beautiful place
Beautiful views! Excellent wine!!
For me, it wasn't dry enough and was barely noticeable that it was even a chardonnay. I was excited waiting for it, but was disappointed in the end.
Lovely winery, with great wines
Alex Lagina is a super nice young man. It was a pleasure to meet him and have a conversation. We will come back, the swwet Riesling was great and I want to try some Row 7.
Great wines and great service.
The location is beyond beautiful, the staff is awesome, charcuterie board and wine were great. It’s such a great place. We will be back.
Nice spot. Some wines are decent.
Absolutely gorgeous! The wine is great and the service is even better. Shout out to our host today, Alex, as he was so accommodating and kind. We will always come back here!
Wonderful experience, definitely will go again. Lori was our server and she was such a delight and very informative!

It was vary clean, well kept up, and practiced vary good social distancing rules. Everyone there was exceptionally nice. I would LOVE to go again, hopefully see Marti too????
What a view!
Stunning views and great wine!
My big mac was cold.
Beautiful environment. Awesome real wood burning two sides fireplace. Adds a Smokey rustic feel to the place. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help you have a special experience. Wine is above average and the pour on the tasting is generous. They want to help you find something you like. This is a departure from some other wineries seemingly attempting to monetize the sample process versus helping you navigate the sea of wine options. Will make this a must stop in the future.
Great experience and amazing wine. The story of the grapes and caves make this a must see place. Great staff.
This winery has great potential: beautiful location and the quality of wine is definitely competitive with others in the area! However, we felt it was overpriced (again, relatively speaking to other wines in the area--minimum price was about $45/bottle). The service was a bit odd too. Not 'bad', she was very kind. Just seemed very frazzled and kept apologizing for being 'so scattered' (we didn't notice until she kept apologizing). At the tail end of the tasting, she had someone finish up for her, as she was so in need of not being on the floor anymore. Granted, there were maybe 5 tastings going on with about 4 people pouring. Not super busy in my mind. But, alas! Great potential, I hope they work out some kinks in the future!
Nice location, good wine and food
This winery is by far the best one on the peninsula, the flavors of the wine are so rich and tasteful it makes you come back for more! Definitely recommend this place I love it!
The scenery alone makes it so worth it
All staff was courteous and very helpful. The winery looks like a huge castle. So amazing !
Beautiful building. Wine selection is tiny 3 reds 2 dry whites. Servers were quick to pour and send you on your way. I would advise to skip, unless you want photo of the building.
Enjoyed my visit.
If you like old wood and more of an Italian theme. Here it is. Great variety of wines to sample. Cheese plate was amazing!
(Translated) Love Mari! (Original) Love Mari!
Beautiful vineyard overlooking Grand Traverse Bay East Arm. Wines are good. Marty wasn't there ????
We visited Mari Vineyard for the first time this weekend on the recommendation of a server from another one of our favorite old mission wineries. We were so glad we did! The tasting room is amazing, the servers were friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine was extremely good. We had the best Sauvignon Blanc we’ve ever had from Michigan, and some red wines made up of European grapes That are unique to this Vineyard. We bought several bottles and will definitely be returning again.
Very pricey but very beautiful place
Great place, great wine, enjoy!! ????
Beautiful place very helpful staff and wonderful vineyard
Renee was very helpful. Knew the wine inside and out. Very informative. Wine was good. Winery was awesome place to visit.
I only came for an oak island t shirt...they only had 3...I cant attest to the delicious looking wine..
One of our favorites wineries in the northern Michigan area. The Italian inspired building is a site on its own and sits on top a hill that produces some of the best views. Italian style wines that are all pretty good. Our favorite was the Bel Tramonto which is a red blend of merlot, sangiovese, cab franc, and refosco. Their tasting room was really cool and had a long bar so a bunch of people could all gather and taste at the same time. Their outside patio was the perfect spot to order a glass and relax while taking in great views of the vineyards and the lake in the background.
Best wine we had on the Old Mission peninsula! If you don’t have a reservation, just bring a blanket or chairs and you can grab some wine at their outdoor bar, sit on the hill, and enjoy the view.
Awesome recommend
Great wine
My wife and I stopped here to enjoy a glass of wine while sitting on a patio with an incredible view. Mari's delivered. Wonderful staff and wine. We can't wait to go back.
Amazing views! Worth checking out. Grab a bottle or two on the way out too.
What an amazing place , Brian gave us our wine tour ???? he had so much knowledge about the grapes and the procedures of how they create their wines! He also did our wine tasting with a charcuterie board which was absolutely amazing, he was super personable and absolutely made the experience! We can't wait to come back in the summer and experienced more!!!
Very good wine and great views.
Incredibly impressive location and building. Very nice.
Always a great time. Beautiful views.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and the site across the peninsula was nice to view while enjoying a glass of wine.
Good but not as good as anticipated
great wines and beautiful views thank you
Such an awesome experience. My favorite winery in Traverse City by far! The wine is amazing and the staff is fantastic! Madi was superb!!!! She knows her wine, the winery, & definitely knows how to individualize an intimate experience. Very lucky to have her on staff!!
Beautiful winery and great wines. Thanks Frank!
Best Red wine on the peninsula, from what we tasted. The Cab Franc was our favorite, though the Thule was good, light, dry and subtly flavorful. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Great wine beautiful place with great views
This place was beautiful! Wine was ok as well. Good views, comfortable place to relax. Worth checking out.
Beautiful views and venue
Beautiful attention to detail
Gabe did awesome on his first day.
This is a uppity place
We went here on Labor day there were probably 8 people total in the place. We came in to get a glass of wine and we're completely ignored for about 20 minutes. We just left without even being acknowledged. The sad part is that we live on …
Beautiful building on the Bay. It’s a lovely place, average wines, with tastings being offered by young, friendly but inexperienced staff. We were invited to sample some wines, asked if we wanted to buy & that was it. We had hoped to have the experience mentioned by others, as we were here to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary; but we were in & out in 20 minutes. We had a tasting & came home with 2 bottles of wine.
Lovely wine!
Beautiful people, wonderful wine, amazing views! A must stop.
You have to visit
Beautiful, delicious wine, friendly and smart staff. We loved our visit!
People watching = top notch???? Riesling is delicious???????????? Shout out to Mo????
The service was great and the wine was fantastic. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful view, but need reservations to sit on the patio, despite some tables being unoccupied. I know they are trying to stick with Social Distancing measures so if you don't have a reservation, you have to stand by a flag out on the lawn, but there are no lawn chairs like most of the vineyards on the peninsula. Highly recommend bringing a thick lawn blanket if that is your intention, because the landscaping is pretty weedy. Also, I tried to order wines for friends, which I thought was pretty simple but lady taking order had one wine wrong and took awhile to process payment.
The wines are perfect. Staff is very friendly and super helpful and knowledgeable My absolute favorite place
Great wine, great service, and great atmosphere!
Gorgeous setting. Outstanding wine. And a warm welcome. ????
Good wine and a great view! Comfy winter fire pits and dog friendly.

We had a bottle at Trattoria Stella and liked it enough to go check them out in person. Tried a flight and took home a few bottles! Had a good time even on a rainy day.
Mari Vineyards well cleaned, great staff, and the Wine was spot on!
A beautiful place. As expected. Very knowledgeable staff....warm,cozy,tasteful atmosphere. Wines=superb! Thanks Ann for being a good sport and enjoying our humor.
Very nice and elegant. A beautiful staff.
Great view for photo ops BUT sub par customer service. When we arrived and spoke to the "greeter" we were told to just find a spot in the tables that were serving wine and that's how we should get the wine tasting started. As soon as I found a spot when people moved, I was told by the person serving the wine that I needed to get in line. She looked like she didnt want to serve me any wine. Will not recommend nor go back
Nice, new vineyard.
The view here is great and the building is amazing too! The wines were not my favorite! Too dry and not sweet for my tasting!
Don't miss this place. Great service ,Great pulled pork or Brisket sandwich.Be adventurous and have the spicey sauce. Draught beer adds to the experience.Try the corn bread, you will not be disappointed.
Awesome red wines & an amazing view. Great villa architecture, but was a little crowded for the tasting so we just grabbed a glass. I’d give it two bottles up...
Amazing view and wines. We also had the charcuterie board and so far it has been the best one of our trip. We had a great time.
As part of our family trip around Lake Michigan, we had to make this a stop. Why? Well as a fan of Oak island, Cilvil War Gold and working in TV myself. It was only right we stopped and support this site. The winery itself was beautiful all around, great views and friendly staff. We would have love to stay and drink more but to to travels that day we only tried a 4 flight. The wines in the area are more on the dryer side as the region mimicked the old area, soil type and temperatures of old world Italy and their wine making techniques. Our favorite of the day was the late harvest white. Fruity, crisp, slightly sweet and very fruity! I do wish they had the kitchen open to enjoy some charcuterie but due to covid they are doing the best they can for the times. All covid stands we’re upheld and patrons were very mindful of distance and grouping. Spot on!
I would 100% go back to Mari Vineyards! I painstakingly researched wineries (and there are so many to choose from!) as we only had time to stop at 1 on our road trip. I definitely picked the right one. Beautiful building and view, very friendly staff AND delicious wine!! $10 for a tasting of 5 wines plus the glass. Our server was very happy to answer all our questions and gave us plenty of interesting tidbits about the wines which we loved! Make sure you make reservations on their website! We got lucky and made a reservation for 2 the day in advance and while we were there (Tuesday) they said they were booked the rest of the week.
Loved it! Great wine food and biew. Wonderful cozy fire!!
Great views, good wine, friendly staff, and a fantastic wine cork mural!
Excellent place to visit! Beverages were tasty, grounds well kept!
Usually love Mari, beautiful views fantastic wine, and later hours. We spend so much time here and ALWAYS commit to having a glass of wine here when we can... until today. We stopped in to have a glass of wine and to buy a few bottles of wine before we headed back home and they were closed for a private event during normal open hours. I’m cool with private events, but during normal open hours on a Saturday is frustrating. Then we asked if we could buy a couple bottles to go, but we’re sent away. Bad business, really makes us reconsider coming back. The worst part is there was nothing on their website indicating that they would be closed earlier, so the drive completely out of the way was the only way to find out. Very frustrating.
Great wine and views
Some serious cranky pants reviews almost put us off, but it was friendly service and nice wines. We had to forgive our server for her Ohio State jacket. The location is beautiful.
Debbie was amazing! She came over to us, pegged us as Oak Island fans. Talked to us about their items in the gift shop then offered us wine and food. We sampled some wines while telling us about the grounds, history, wine production, vineyard and so much more. Was a completely delightful experience. We will be back again.
Beautiful vineyards the wines are delicious should suit any palate.
Good wine. Bottles are like 30$, the tastings are 8$ for 5 and u dont even get to keep a glass. boo! The building is cool, the outside looks like a castle. Nice scenery! The lady was super knowledgeable, however the wine lists doesn't say what the wine is. They classify them by dry/sweet/semi dry and the names of the wine but doesnt explain what it consists of as to taste and what not. I didnt really like that I had to pick a wine based off of just a name. It was a shot in the dark but...they were good regardless!
Really liked the atmosphere. The owner is Marty from the History Channel show Curse of Oak Island, so we were hoping to see some of their finds. Regardless, the wine was awesome! The wood counters and table tops all came from one tree whose stump was made into an outdoor table. The Row 7 was a surprising blend that we truly enjoyed. One of the better wineries to visit!
Very knowledgeable staff. I am not so much in to wine, but we did a 5 sample tasting and it was a great experience. I have been to, maybe, 5 vineyards and this was the best experience by far. The building and property are stellar. If you're in northern Michigan go to the Old Mission Peninsula and check out Mari.
Not a huge selection of wines. The Riesling and the sparkling Riesling were excellent though! Plus they had spectacular view, it may be the best on the penninsula.
Nice atmosphere
Beautiful place. I suggest stopping for a quick glass of wine just to take in the views. Lots of different places to sit.
Beautiful view of the water! Spectacular wines!
Cool winery, very cool buildings and history!
Never go again been twice never getting a dime again
Mari Vineyards well cleaned, great staff, and the Wine was spot on!
Some serious cranky pants reviews almost put us off, but it was friendly service and nice wines. We had to forgive our server for her Ohio State jacket. The location is beautiful.
Great wines, really good reds. Beautiful building, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
A good future stop on my #DiscoveryMichigan #WineTours - a one day group excursion from #GrandRapids to #TraverseCity and back. The staff is helpful and friendly. The view is astonishing, like you're on top of the world. The building gorgeous! #EduTours
My wife and Mother in law are huge fans of Oak Island and could not wait to visit Mari. Thankfully we reserved a spot for wine tasting but could only get tickets on the production level. We were disappointed to not be able to get wine tour tickets but figured we could at least explore the property and views from the upper deck. We were told from the start to not go up or down any stairs and to stay only in a specific area. We drove all the way from Kansas City, Missouri. We have been on tons of wine tours and tastings, both before and during Covid. None of our experiences were less fulfilling than Mari. Yes the property is beautiful but so are most of the vineyards we have visited. We really wanted this to be the cream of the crop experience but it was actually the opposite.
Great service and really neat place.
We enjoyed wine tasting and the beautiful building. I purchased two bottles of wine and ordered a shirt from your company.
Great wine, even better view!!
This was an amazing experience! Booked a tour the day before. Our tour guide was very informative about the layout of the vineyard, what types of grapes, history of the building, as well as the decor, and every little detail in between. After the tour we had a flight of wine and a delicious meat and cheese board while taking in the amazing view! This is a must when in the T.C. area. Not posting all the great pictures so as not to spoil the experience.
Great views and great wine. You will likely need a reservation for any tasting but there are tables to sit at if you're enjoying wine by the glass.
Prettiest winery view overlooking the lake. You need advanced reservations for an outside table otherwise you can order by the glass and sit on the lawn.
Great place to go for Wine testing. Very nice staff to assist you.
Beautiful building. Short staffed for tasting. Wanted a tour but they turned it down. People next to us went a minute before but was told they were 20 minutes into it already.
April 2021 What is there to say? WINE? 5 stars LOCATION? 5 stars STAFF? 5 stars Would I go there again? In a heartbeat if it wasnt so far away! But it was a most enjoyable and relaxing visit and the wine was amazing! And it was even more awesome to grab a couple Oak Island T-shirts as well!!
The wine itself is good, not great but good. The service however much in line with the other subpar reviews is really bad. Of all the vineyards we went to this one stuck out as having the most unpleasant experience with the staff. They either ignore you, or rush you through a tasting, or don’t give you the time a day. So many of the other vineyards employees really care about the experience and want to tell you about the wine they want you to have a good time and want you to enjoy it so that you’ll buy bottles before you leave and comeback. The atmosphere is fantastic with the building itself they’re missing a huge opportunity with the service here and it desperately needs to be improved.
Mari Vineyards is one of the wineries I visit ever year. The building is beautiful and the wine selection is large. Every year I find a new wine that I enjoy at Mari Vineyards. Highly recommended!
No public sampling. Need reservations. $10.00 a glass though.
It is a great place. The ambiance is wonderful. The location is very good location and it has great views. A great variety of vines to try out. The servers are extremely friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a visit.
Great sweet white wine, it was just the right thing! A beautiful setting!
This is one of the best places on the peninsula to enjoy the view with great wine.
Beautiful vineyard on the outside and inside! Employees were super friendly. Really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend!
Love the wine and amazing views!
Outdoor area is amazing! Get a glass of wine and relax!
Good wine, great view.
Very good wine!
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Heidi, Bonnie, Callie, Josh, Alex and Andy all took great care of my needs during my visit. Jenna, the events person was especially accommodating during my visit. The wine was amazing. The wine here is high end drier style stuff that does not cater to the lowest common denominator of customer which I appreciate. They are true to excellence and it’s refreshing with how unapologetically great they are and strive to be. Do the tour if possible, the building is impressive and they spared no expense making the place sustainable. Best winery IMO on old mission.
Beautiful place. Absolutely stunning views and the building is gorgeous. The wine: not very tasteful or as smooth for the price. Ordered 2 flights amongst 3 people which covered most of the wines they offer plus some by glass. Also FYI can't bring outside food or buy a bottle of wine to drink at the site. This was a bummer for us as we have experienced this at other wineries and vineyards. But do understand and respect the township decision and what the license permits. Recommendation: if you want to visit the vineyard visit as a last thing or the first.
Great location, service is average. One of the more pricy vineyards in the area. More dry wines.
Service was bad at best. Not personable nor did our server explain the wine. When asked, she brought the bottle out for me to read which only spoke about the vineyard, not the wine. And when I spoke to the manager about it, he shrugged it off. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Can't say enough about the hostess Callie! She works incredibly hard making sure to accommodate everyone in a efficient and timely manner and she does it with a great attitude and I believe she is always smiling under her mask. Thanks again Callie, Carol H from The Magic Shuttle Bus
It was really a really good time
Absolutely delicious wines! Try a glass of the Row 7! Pricey but so good!
Amazing customer service!! David was awesome with providing wine recommendations, making us feel comfortable and being extremely professional! Andy was absolutely incredible! He followed up promptly via email regarding reservation availability and though they were booked, he was proactive with following through to let us know we could reserve a table because of a cancellation! Thank you for the experience!! This is what customer service should look like!
My husband and I just left Mari vineyards. By far the worse experience at a winery atmosphere from the time we were “greeted” to the time we left. View is beautiful and wine is good but service and management requires correction. Adult management is needed. We were told to go sit on a hill within chalk squares ina very negative tone. We understand social distancing and had our mask. Nature and tone used was unprofessional and unwelcoming. We had been to other wineries in the area and they were much more relaxing while practicing social distancing. 3 groups of people clearly had been over served. One group was sitting on a van at edge of parking lot and yelling. A bridal group was on a hill and one girl could hardly walk but was served. A large group of young men and women were again screaming at each other but were served at last call. We were told we had less than 10 mins to get a glass of wine even though the closing time was in 45 mins . Young hostess told us not to sit under shade tree because that was not on her property. We asked to use bathroom at end and they said they were closed. We did order wine. Okay but not enjoyable given atmosphere mentioned above and too close to road noise. Will mark this off the list of wineries to visit or refer to any of our friends.
Beautiful view
Love it I will be back!!!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
Wonderful service but called our next winery to say we were over-served. This was our second winery, even IF we were over-served it was from this winery. They claim someone also fell. The only time anyone “fell” was when we were taking a picture and someone could stand back up. She was sober and pregnant. This winery put a complete damper on our wonderful bachelorette weekend. We will not be back. We are also returning the $600 of wine we purchased.
Beautiful location, knowledgeable staff and delicious wine. What's not to like?!?
We had a wonderful time with our tasting. Joe was fun to talk to and very knowledgeable. The Gamay Noir is fantastic.
We're sold! This place, its atmosphere, the product and the professionals serving it - all A+. Our new favorite by a long shot.
If you're a fan of curse of oak island then know about this place...my wife loves wine and I love the show
Great architect, beautiful views and tasty wine. We bought the red!
Very Beautiful Place to Visit! Highly Recommended
Great place I love in Florida now and am watching Oak Island and Marty has a shirt on from the vineyard cool.
Beautiful views and architecture, unprofessional staff and poor service. We arrived 42 minutes before closing. MULTIPLE tables were open and we were told we had to sit on the lawn. We kindly asked if we could order our own wines so a server wouldn’t have to worry about us and use the table. The hostess gave us a hard time but eventually said to go sit. We were then taking photos in front of the vineyard, and one of the staff yelled at us in front of everyone who was visiting to stay out (about 40-50 people). We were at least four feet from where the vineyard starts and could read the sign. The wine was subpar. We would’ve returned for the atmosphere, but the staff were the biggest disappointment, and we are always very understanding customers, especially with the current environment.
Thank you so much to Mari Vineyards! The tour was so much fun and our tour guide Beryl was very informative and friendly. The wine is out of this world. Will definitely be going back.
Loved it. One of our favorite places to go for our anniversary!!
Very interesting! Good ambience. Great experience this morning for the Summer Soltice.
Everything about this place is awesome. Their location, their wines, their staff, just awesome.. I highly recommend this place.
Wonderful wine tasting, small plate appertizers
How's my oak island crew doing!?
We had an amazing experience at Mari! Debbie did our tasting and was so informative and kind. We had our two small children with us and had just had a horrible experience at another vineyard and she turned our day around. The wine was great as well but Debbie really made the experience!
Great venue, friendly and helpful staff and some good wines in a picturesque location.
You feel like you’re getting a glimpse of Italy when you go to Mari Vineyards. Beautiful buildings with well thought out design. The wine was amazing and the grounds were spectacular. The staff was very personable and clearly enjoyed their jobs. I highly recommend a stop at this vineyard!
Tasting was nice, disappointed with no tour available.
Mari was a fantastic vineyard to visit! Jody was ✨FANTASTIC✨. She was knowledgeable about the wines, personable, and even made sure I got into my car safely! 10/10 would recommend
Great view and nice staff. Party i was with loved the wine. I was the desginated driver, water was cold and good
I was very disappointed with my visit at Mari vineyard. It was a very cold atmosphere from the staff.
The style of the Vineyard is gorgeous as is the drive up. It looks like an Italian Villa. Great views (though it was raining when we were there so we were inside). Another fun stop along the old mission
Cathi was great server!!!! Wine was awesome.
Hostess was extremely rude. You have to stand in the grass under hot sun, so bring an umbrella. They should have some kind of canopy to stand under. You can call to make a reservation to do tasting. The scriptorium reisling was lovely and the building is impressively old world style.
Great date place. Great wine, and very cool atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Oak Island TV owners winery
Check this place out! I highly recommend Mari Vineyards, for the delicious wine, beautiful setting and the amazing atmosphere. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We arrived close to closing time and Casey still gave us phenomenal service. Thank you all for the wonderful experience and looking forward to returning soon!
You feel like you are in Tuscany, Italy when visiting Mari Vineyards. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and good wine. A tour of their wine cellar is a must. Well worth the visit.
Ah, soo nice awaiting more out door chairs ????????
Amazing!!!
View is spectacular.
The wines have degraded immensely. Their service is terrible. I would just find a new place. Soo many vineyards here, I would skip this one.
I had a hard time enjoying the view with how nice the building looks. The stone work and attention to detail are just as good as the wine. I'm very impressed. The wine was amazing!
Undoubtedly the best winery experience I have visited. My wife and I had such an amazing visit. The establishment is an absolute work of art. The layout, the patio, the floorplan, the decor just beautifully done. The wine is excellent as well. We really enjoyed the late harvest riesling and the pinot grigio. Had to purchase a couple of both. I even passed the test from "Sir Casey the one and only Knight" on some Oak Island trivia and surprised him that I knew where the sword came from he was so graciously Knighted with by Alex. Great experience and will definitely stop every time we are in TC Thank you for your hospitality.
Great wine choices and the staff is tremendous and helpful. Comfortable outdoor seating with great views.
We have been here a few times with local friends and always had a great experience.
Mari Vineyards, Awesome, Place !!! It's One of the Best thing's in The World to See Two Brother's Love for Life, Family & The Pursuit For The Unknown Answers And The Questions Of Life. Marty & Rick hope to see you Soon. Sincerely, Just a humble Templar Jason Grant Blackman
Mari vineyards is absolutely beautiful! The view along with the wine is a must go on the list of vineyards that Traverse City has to offer! The wine in my opinion is the best of all the vineyards we visited. After we finished our tours of vineyards (a total of 6) we returned to Mari and bought several bottles. Before visiting Mari I would only drink very sweet white wines, Rene, our wine educator taught me so much about whites and reds and talked me into trying their dry red. I was so reluctant as I have always hated the taste. After trying Mari dry red wines I have fully converted to drinking dry reds and rarely drink sweet whites now. Rene was so informative and spent time with us educating us on all aspects of wine (and so much more... Thank you Rene)! Mari will be a yearly tradition to visit in the fall from here on out!
Lady was very rude
Sweet white wine is good. I recommend to do a reservation before arrival to avoid waiting list. They have tables in the yard that are free to use. Really nice place.
This is one of the only wineries in the area that grows all of their own grapes. The tasting experience is really nice and 5 tastes are only $10. Alex was our host and he did a fabulous job--very knowledgeable and friendly.
Beautiful vineyard. Great prices!!
Great wine & very friendly staff! Strange layout of tables (mostly seating for large parties) and not the best views/grounds on the peninsula. Some mildly tacky European inspired architecture/decorations that aren’t as chic as other wineries. Overall, still a great experience at Mari!
Beautiful view, great wine, knowledgeable, and friendly staff.
I was very excited to visit all the wineries in such a beautiful amazing area and this was by far the worst one. The manager Anthony and employees have absolutely zero social skills and are so rude. We were a group of professional 30 year olds that were starting a classy fun easy going evening when they profiled one of the ladies in our group and refused to serve her. When asked why, he said “it was a gut feeling not to serve her.” Might I remind you this was the first winery we went to So when we start with being judged and profiled for no given reason, It put some sadness into the rest of the evening.
Great wine, beautiful views and outstanding patio area.
Very nice elegant place. Not many sweet wines to choose from.
Great vine, great view, hospitality was nice, and they have a dog friendly patio!
Amazing. HUGE FANS of Oak Island crew. Definitely will travel back up north Tony visit again!!! Hopefully go tour the island one day too! #bucketlist
Just beautiful ????????
We took a tour with Sue she was very good explaining everything. Great afternoon.
Lovely stuff and a great your. Highly recommend
First off... the scenery is INCREDIBLE. One of our favorite views on the peninsula. We popped in on a whim, and absolutely fell in LOVE with the place. Even with COVID, and the social distancing... the staff was wonderfully friendly. They found a nice little table for us outside, attended to us quickly, and we never felt rushed, or ignored. Bought a couple bottles we enjoyed from what we sampled, and even a TShirt for the Fiancee. We will definitely be returning. VERY well done!!!
Great staff and great wines at a very reasonable price!
Great experience not only because of the amazing wine they have, but the people are amazing. Sue and Jody were kind and made our wine tasting complete.
Beautiful Winery in a gorgeous location. Wines were delicious and complex, all but one were very dry. We really enjoyed the Late Harvest Riesling, we prefer reds, but this white with 2% residual sugar was delightful. Our only disappointment was that we could not take our tasting glasses with us as advertised, due to a glass shortage. This is the reason for four stars.
Love the old world architecture and the great wines at Mari Vineyards. This was my last stop on a day of touring wineries on the peninsula and most of the day had been less than great. But this was a gem in the bunch. There were many great wine options. Even on a slow day with less than delightful weather, this place was still full and we heard that reservations Griday through Sunday were already filled. Be sure to plan well in advance to see this place.
Great views! We showed up and all systems were down; we didn't find this out until waiting for 10 minutes in line. We asked for a glass to take out on the lawn and they said "no". I was surprised they couldn't do a manual bill without a system using math
We arrived on rain on Tuesday...not a busy day. Greets and then offered tasting and or tour. Madi gave us a great tour. She was so friendly and helpful. After we consumed her Hot bria tray and suggested wine, we joined the wine club. She also recommend a hotel and dinner places. All were wonderful. Dont miss this winery and its great staff. Love it.
This was THE BEST reds I'd ever had!!!!!!
Very disappointed. We had visited Leelanau peninsula the day before. Were not planning on visiting any wineries on Old Mission. I often choose Old Mission, all my favorite wineries are here. Mari was high on my list. We had been there earlier in the summer and I was willing to try again. We had been camping the night before. I had been telling my brother and his wife about how much I loved Mari Vineyards. The location the wine etc. He. And his wife are returning to Michigan after retiring from the Navy. We took a drive and stopped in . In expressing our dissatisfaction, the staff just smiled judgemental ly and didn't care. No explanation, no options etc. After the poor client care, it reminded me of our visit earlier in the summer. 2 strikes do not make a third . I have not ever written a poor review. So this hopefully speaks to how we felt ....so move clock forward, One Year later! decided to try again. We decided to take a chance and try again. Completely changed our mind excellent service. No rudeness at all. Thank you Mari for stepping up and focusing on quality customer service
Beautiful atmosphere. Tasty wine
Such a beautiful location, but quite honestly, the worst service I've recieved at any establishment. My friend, who had yet to start drinking that evening, was told by the waiter that he was not going to serve her without further explanation. Upon asking the extremely rude waiter why he made this decision, he discourteously told me that he heard her slurring. He proceeds to tell our Brew Bus driver that one girl wasnt allowed to be served, and because of this, our whole group wasn't able to continue our tour. Our night was substantially dampened because one waiter discriminated and had poor judgement about our friend and then treated our entire group like the scum of the world. On top of that, the next day we discovered that half our group was double charged! This winery desperately needs a management and staff makeover stat! Avoid at all cost.
Amazing atmosphere, great staff and killer wine! My favorite winery on Old Mission Peninsula.
Beautiful place and fantastic service! We visited during the week around noon and all staff were properly using their masks and doing a fantastic job following COVID protocols. The view is phenomenal and the wine is exquisite. I definitively recommend this place!
After wine tasting all over the city, this was absolutely our favorite
Great place, friendly service,
This place took me back to Italy and there wine is very good. Outdoor seating with an awesome view. Must do while in Traverse City MI
Terrible service. Asked to wait in a line for a wine tasting. No thanks. Wine is awful on top of the wait. Expensive for the low quality. Reeks of new money.
Loved the reds! Amazing tasting room. Felt like Napa
Beautiful vineyard, very warm and cozy inside during early fall. Loved the Italian style wines and the Rose and sparkling are great. Staff was friendly and we felt very comfortable here. The food was also yummy.
Beautiful place and lovely views but it was sadly overshadowed by terrible service. We booked a Mezzanine wine tasting however, they sat us at the bar instead without even asking. We then waited 10-15 minutes before someone came over. The site says "a server will guide guests through the tasting experience" and no one guided us. We didn't have anyone who we could ask questions to about the wine, let alone ask for some water. Then, when someone finally did come over (I believe the manager), she rushed us along. If you are interested in learning about wines and understanding more about the vineyard, this is not the place to go. It was overall very unpleasant.
Best local glass of wine EVER! Bring a blanket and sit on the hill and watch the water. :)
Nasty bathrooms during Covid Wine ok Staff not friendly Nice views
Great place for wine, also to Engage your Future Wife!
Beautiful scenery....excellent wine and service.
Great wine tasting experience, wonderful view and awesome wines. A must see stop on Old Mission Penisula.
Never disappoints!
Great wine and beautiful views of East and West Bays!
Great tasting wine and beautiful place, will be coming back. Just a sight!
Mari Vineyards is the best vineyard on the peninsula! The view was stunning, service impeccable and the wine was delicious. Our server, Noah was professional, informative and personable. He made the visit perfect!
Fine wine. Great music ! Excellent company.
We visited Mari Vineyards on the Sunday before Memorial Day. It was very busy, with dozens of patrons on the patio, lawn and upper deck area. We walked in to the tasting room and up to the counter, where we were greeted by a very rude woman who immediately said "How did you get in here??! We're CLOSED!!" Her tone was belligerent. We were stunned. We explained that the door was open so we walked in. We left and drove over to Hawthorne Vineyards. Not only were the staff pleasant and friendly, they were giving free pours to veterans, in honor of the holiday. My husband, a Marine, was very appreciative. We enjoyed the experience at Hawthorne better. The people at Mari need to work on their attitude and customer service.
Beautiful wine, beautiful location!
Beautiful location. The wine was average for the area, which is to say, they have a good selection. Most wineries in this area are not bad, but Mari had a beautiful view, and nice location.
Great place to relax, listen to live music and have some great wine.
Loved the wine and patio. Love the views!
We ENJOYED this and had so much FUN...tasting, nibbling, sharing, comparing, laughing. The staff was so pleasant & full of knowledge. I felt like I was visiting a castle. ndhelpful
Nice atmosphere, beautiful individuals who work there, very friendly, wine was wonderful.
Great tasting room, Friendly staff very knowledgeable and the reds are Great!!
Very impressive architectural design!! Best Grape Juice in Michigan????
Lovely spot to sit and watch the bay, enjoy a tasty glass of wine (or three), and enjoy the beautiful building and patio.
Thoughtfully designed building and a nice selection of wines made for a wonderful experience.
Unprofessional and rude staff killed the mood and the beautiful scenery and pretty decent wine could not make up for it. We are not planning on coming back here, felt quite unwelcome
Great wine and views!
Traditional wine tasting in an Italian atmosphere.
Not very happy with the service. When I called about the place I wasn't told about putting a 24 hr reservation for the tour. Drove 4 hrs to see this place and couldn't see much
Was a great time only disappointed that Marty lagina was not there i watch his show big fan an disappointed that he was not there but a beautiful place definitely recommend it for every one to try again very beautiful
All of the wines are dry but even though I am not a wino, they were pretty good for a guy that would much rather drink beer. The building is b-e-a-utiful!
This was the first winery/vineyard I’ve ever visited and it definitely did not disappoint. The view was beautiful and the wine tasted amazing. I had a glass of the merlot to start and then did a flight of mainly reds. Outside we ordered our first glass until our table was ready and Cathi was our cashier upon checking out and she was very friendly and provided amazing service. After we were seated, Brian was our server and he was super cool and nice and provided us great information about the area when we asked him (Bubba’s Burgers was amazing, thank you!!). Both of these employees provided great service and made our day and it was a great experience! I would highly recommend to anyone. :)
Exquisite! Beautiful building, great wine. It was the highlight of my trip to the Travers City area. A great place to enjoy the beauty of Old Mission Peninsula with a glass of high quality local wine. There was plenty of attentive staff that were very helpful and pleasant. If I lived nearby I would probably visit often. I hope they keep making the Gamay Noir.
Wonderful experience with Lori!!
Did a wine tour @ Mari Vineyards in Traverse City, MI on June 22, 2021. It was $30 per person and lasted about 20-25 minutes. In summary, go there for the wine tasting but don’t waste your time or money on the tour. It was a very disappointing experience and—for lack of a better term—a ripoff.
Incredible winery with the best views on the peninsula! The building is super cool and has that old italian feel to it. Sitting on the chairs in the grass overlooking the vineyard and lake were in my opinion, far better than the patio. Very relaxing place!
Another must see winery. In fact, one of their reds was so good, I finally started to store wines, and it's still stored to this day for the right time.
Just ok customer service.
Beautiful place
Wine not so developed. Winery pretty location.
Great location, but the wine was underwhelming. Staff (Lisa) was pretty rude We were expected to use specific pronouns, which is not something I want to deal with on vacation.
great wine and magnificent scenery!
Beautiful views
Great place. Wonderfully friendly staff. Beautiful view and patio garden!
Mari Vineyards was a suggestion by a friend and its fantastic!! We tried 2016 Bel Tramonto, a mixture of a variety of grapes, smooth and tasty. Everyone os welcoming, tours available of the grounds and caves where wine is stored. And fantastic view of the penisula!!
Very nice very beautiful place will go again.
Lovely setting, beautiful views, good wine. Highly recommend the tour!
Disappointed in the poor service at this really nice winery. We took our bachelorette party here as part of a winery tour. We had paid for a private terrace reservation. We all got up to the top terrace and the waiter, I think Kyle?, stared taking orders. All of our girls ordered glasses of wine and he got to our last friend and she started asking questions about the menu and the types of wines offered. He lets her look at a menu and tells her about some specials. He the comes back to take her order. She orders and then he says "sorry I cannot serve you". She asks why and he says "I just have a gut feeling I shouldn't be serving you after I saw your walk up the stairs". She was completely coherent, not causing a scene and walking up the stairs in heels and trying to help a friend out with putting on her required mask. She does not cause a scene but simply asks why and he says instinct? We weren't even driving as we were part of a Brew Bus. We asked to speak to the manager and he didn't have a good answer either as to why they could not serve her. There were plenty more drunk people in our party and at the winery, so I'm not sure if he was basing it off the way she looked, talked, there was no good explanation. I understand when servers cannot serve patrons, but this one was uncalled for and unjustified. Needless to say, the entire party has decided to never return to give them business.
This is a new winery in the area. After reading some of the other reviews, I didn't have high hopes. They charge the most for a tasting out of all of the wineries in the area. However, they had a larger selection then I expected. They had 5-6 whites and 4 reds (1 was exclusive to wine club members). We tried a gruner veltliner that was awful, a semisweet reisling that was ok, and the three reds. The last red (a cab France and cab save blend) was really good, but it was also $48 a bottle. Our pourer was knowledgeable about the wines. There are several great wineries in the area that have better wines, larger selections, and better prices. Many have lower priced tastings (or free). Mari does have a beautiful view, and I am assuming this is why it is more expensive.
Great view, great ???? and wonderful service! Cannot say enough great things about David. Knowledgeable, friendly, and played along when we asked if he would sing for us as he is studying music. Whitney was our request, thanks David, you were the best and loved the to-go messages!
Thanks Sue for a great tour and beautiful memories.
Had great service and views of the lake
One of my favorite wineries in all of TC!
We opted for the private tour for our first-time winery experience. Our guide, Madi, was awesome. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about all things wine. The caverns are a must see. So many aspects of the property and building are interesting and truly beautiful. The wines were equally amazing. There are many fine wineries on the Mission Peninsula, and we visited several - Mari is hands-down number one!
Beautiful view, cozy tasting room, and very nice wines.
Only one sweet wine, but it was very good. Beautiful view!
Beautiful setting and generous flight pours.
A wonderfully picturesque winery. Very pleasant and relaxed. A wide selection of wines by the bottle or glass. A definite must hit on old mission
Best wine we tasted on the peninsula. The Troglodyte Blanco and the Troglodyte Rosso were our favorites. The finish on the Rosso was spectacular.
Nice people and a beautiful building and view. The wine was also good.
Amazing architecture and phenomenal views
Staff was knowledgeable. The view was spectacular.
One of the first wineries head up old mission peninsula. Never have been inside but the patio and picnic tables on the grass hill have amazing views of the bay.
Too cold. Bad service.
Even with all the changes due to COVID this place is amazing.
I had an incredible experience. Driving in, the property and architecture reminded me of my time in Italy visiting the vineyards. Inside was beautiful and spacious, and my tasting went incredibly! Renee took incredible care of me, and I left with some wines I loved. I can't wait to get home and enjoy some dinners with friends over the wines I found here!
I live out of state and haven't visited in person yet (crossing my fingers for that vaccination!) and they can't deliver to my state, but I had some Troglodyte Rosato shipped to my Dad's house in Texas and now that it has found it's way to me, I have nothing but good things to say! I'm no wine expert, but this particular one is right up my alley. I'm looking forward to getting to try others in person. I also called several months ago to see if I could have an empty bottle shipped to me for a project I was working on. Andy was SO incredibly helpful and took very special care to ship me exactly what I needed. I'm very grateful! Keep up the good work and please continue to be safe!
We were on a family vacation and stopped in, the kids in tow were given complimentary juice and oyster crackers. Which was good to help them feel like it wasn't an adult only experience. Enjoyed the wines we sampled and made some purchases to enjoy at home.
This past weekend I was at this winery with my friends from college celebrating a bachelorette party. From the time we got there to the time we left, the experience was anything was pleasant. We had the top Terrance rented out, and when we all arrived we gave our orders. One of the girls in the group was denied service because the server just had a “gut feeling” that she shouldn’t be served. When we were all very confused and upset about this, we were then told it was last call. We had been there for all of 10 minutes, and it definitely wasn’t last call. When we confronted management we were not given any good answers and they were talking in circles. We were extremely disappointed in the experience.
Beautiful spot, beautiful view
Great views outside and inside was beautifully decorated.
The Vineyard closed at 4pm on a Saturday for a private event but didn’t post this on their website or Google hours. It would be helpful if they updated their hours when closed for private events so people don’t waste their time.
Beautiful
Amazing. Great old world Italian wines.
Excellent
Had a great visit here and was very impressed with the wine, the building, and the staff.
Great service ! Knowledgeable beautiful grounds, and Row 7! Holy moly! Definitely a must stop.
Good service
Professional and accommodating staff. Consistently following Covid policies to keep their staff and guests safe. Beautiful grounds. The 2018 Cabernet Franc is delightful.
