A seven star place stuck in a five star rating system. The view, the wine, the appetizers, the service, the entree, the weather...Well ok, the weather was great though and it all made for a very nice dinner with friends. The view was atop a hill overlooking the valley below with a backstop of the hills that make the valley a valley. The flowers were in bloom and the grape vines were green with the air full of birds riding the updrafts in the background, just a calming and beautiful view. The vino is primo, and matches up with the menu for any strategic approach to fine dinning. It is what they do after all. The best appetizer I have had in a long, long time. wordered the 5 selection platter and it was just plain amazing!!! So robust with flavours and sauces, spreads and breads to match the selections. The servers were very helpful and attentive while they helped us develop this strategy for dinner. They answered every question with good information and just seemed like nice hard working professionals. The fillet mignon was cooked to perfection for each person and about a foot thick (well maybe a bit of exaggeration). It cut with a butter knife (no exaggeration) and it was a generous portion. Accompanied by rich and flavourful mushroom and potato sides to complete the presentation. Just amazing!!!
Went here to use it as a venue for a styled shoot and there was a miscommunication and we were told we wouldn't be able to set up without scheduling this first and paying a fee. They ended up allowing us to do what we came to do because of the miscommunication but I didn't feel welcome. Although this place is insanely gorgeous it may be a bit too high society snotty for me to drive all the way out again.
The drive up was gorgeous albeit windy. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the amazing view. The wind was a bit chilly but the waitress offered some blankets which made it much more pleasant. The food was breathtakingly amazing. Our party enjoyed the filet mignon, roasted chicken, and rack of lamb entreés. The filet was tender and the bone marrow demi was absolutely divine. The roast chicken was juicy and served with a delicious jus. The rack of lamb was cooked very well and had bacon served with it! Our experience was fantastic and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a fantastic gourmet fine dining dinner. It is a bit pricey but it is absolutely worth every single penny. Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable trip. Beautiful estate with great staff. Would recommend the wine tasting and their burger for lunch. Ended up buying a few bottles thinking it would be a better deal(from the source) and saw that they are much cheaper in the grocery store.
Beautiful vineyards and estate. Be sure to enjoy a cheese board or other food pairing with your Pinot noir!
Not the cheapest fare around but for a nice date or special occasion night, this is the place to go. Fantastic food, beautiful view, and good wine to pair. They worked well with my Celiac and dairy issues. My partner had crab cake appetizers and crab ravioli. He especially loved the crab cakes. I enjoyed the beet salad to start but it was their lamb that stole my heart. Get the flights of wine. Best price and taste values.
The grounds are stunning, the products and venue are well worth the drive. I have been visiting since 2002? (It was years ago and they were just starting.) The staff has evolved into a group that is not what I look for when I head out to spend my money. I have skipped my annual visit for the past couple years. As Miha Angelo said: you may forget what a person says or does, but you never forget how they make you feel. Make people FEEL welcomed and valued. They will prioritize occordingly.
Beautiful view, friendly staff, and delicious food. Only bad thing is it's not dog friendly :( would be nice to bring my dog to enjoy on a sunny day like most wineries allow.
Beautiful estate winery. Feels like a world away, but the drive is gorgeous. The wine was very good, especially the merlot and cab. No dessert wine, unfortunately.
I've been out to KE at least a dozen things over the least few years. They've always shown attentiveness and professionalism amongst their staff, along with friendly and helpful demeanor. I've seen a few reviews claiming "snobbery" or "condescension" during visits but our repeat positive experiences make me skeptical and I wonder what *isn't* being told in those recounts. There are always children brought along, from wee babes to older teens. They are received just as easily and a children's menu is available. Usually, a visit out there, involves a larger group; with all of us ordering plenty of wine, starters, entreés and desserts. We've seen and tasted multiple menu revisions, representing multiple [local] food sources. Local butchers, local harvests, etc... The menu consists of delicious starters and entrees, offering a choice for most tastes (steak, seafood, vegetarian, etc..), and comes to your table beautifully plated. Every single thing I've ordered has been delicious and left me wanting to return again! Indoor dining is comfortable and charming, with very attractive timber architecture to surround you; fireplaces will warm you in cooler weather, while outdoor dining in warmer weather holds fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and countryside. It's a wonderful place to visit for a special occasion. We'll be back again, soon.
Delicious food with a gorgeous view! It was snowing when we went but the entire environment was warm and welcoming. I was expecting small portions at a high price but everything was so reasonably priced and the portions were huge!! Love it and we'll definitely be back!
The online reservation process was straightforward so we ventured out to enjoy a wine tasting experience for the first time, in a long time. The wines were good, the snacks were delicious and the views were outstanding. We did not order a meal in the restaurant but we will be back. Definitely a place to check out!!
Delicious wines + fantastic sweeping views of the valley. I only wish I would have dined here!
Did a tasting there today and enjoyed the wines. Very cool location. They have food as well by we didn’t eat there.
Great food! Beautiful atmosphere, a place to relax and have a good time.
So nothing lets u know before you drive up that they are not taking walk in...then it takes 30 minutes to get a togo order...amd they open your bottle without asking.. last time i go...very sad...a couple came in after us and was enjoying a bottle of wine on the bench next to us with no reservations...i dont know where customer service has gone but it's failing...
Visited King winery yesterday with family.. Wasn't sure about going in for a tasting as it seemed to be extremely busy..but we were greeting right away and set up for our tasting! The young lady that poured for us was very gracious and friendly!! We enjoyed our tastings and took some home to sip later!!
Spencer was our server. He was very well spoken and informant on the area and the selections. We were very impressed with his recommendations and expertise
Love this place, beautiful and the food was delicious. The staff took good care of us.
Great views and a very knowledgeable group of people serving. Wine is very good. Make sure to order one of their charcuterie plates. Make to make a reservation to get an outside table.
The brunch was as remarkable as the view. Wine tasting was rich and educational. Def would go back.
When sunny, one of the most beautiful views in Oregon! Very sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere. Gourmet foods, polite and welcoming staff. Worth the drive just for the views alone. I'm not one for wine and hoitey-toitey food, but with family this was a great time. Great place to take the parents, or girlfriend for a day out.
What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Delightful. Delicious wines and fabulous lunch. Ceasar Salad with Chicken and a flight if NxNW was perfect. Thank you Kings Estate for the wonderful experience.
Beautiful surroundings and a castle like experience. Great food and service. A great date spot not that far from Roseburg
Delicious food. The wine is ok.
The view was fantastic, and the wine was wonderful!
My wife and I live in New England, but have traveled to Oregon several times, and each time we go, we stop in at the King Estate Winery for lunch and a glass (or two) of wine. The scenery is breathtaking, the food and wine are top notch, and they have a wonderful staff who are professional and knowledgeable about all things pertaining to King Estate. Go there, take a tour, sit on the patio, have some wine, and enjoy the gorgeous view.
A spectacular view of the vineyards and valley, as well as exceptional food, especially for the area. The prices are on par with the quality of the food and the service was wonderful.
Everything was wonderful with our wine and our educator. Our wine was excellent, but our server Spencer ruined our experience and was very rude. He should not be in the customer service business, if he can't get it right. He was rude, unprofessional, and yelled at our group when he got our bills wrong, put his hands up in the air and walked away. I have been a bar manager for 20 years, and I have never seen such disrespect. I had to write down what our bill was, until our uncle made it easy for him and paid for the whole bill. If I ever come back, or bring a group that spends a bunch of money, I will make sure he is not my server.
Second visit here and can’t wait to come back. Had the Roasted Chicken and it was the best chicken I’ve ever tried. Paired it with a 2015 Domaine Pinot Gris and enjoyed the last glass in the oatio enjoying the incredible ciew. Highly recommend this place
Nice atmosphere, wines are not my flavor as I prefer more cabs and tempranillo
We showed up without a reservation and sat at the patio in our grungies because we just left Dorena Lake. In a crowd of dressed up weekenders we were served without bias and treated well. The wine was a bit iffy, but the cheeses were sensational. Even the three-year-old had fun. Great view. Great service. Will certainly be back again. Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful place, great service and tasty wine♥ Restaurant is still closed due to covid19 , but you can buy a bottle of great wine and enjoy the view while there. Looking forward to their reopening????
It was like a chef gave them the most pretentious, kitschy, trendy menu but never tasted any recipe to see if it was actually edible. Only good thing was the wine, the server and the view. Super cliche. Late. Forgetful. Cheetos on a lukewarm, runny white mac and cheese? $15 cheese plate with four soda crackers and dinner rolls at $1 a piece. Cheapos! Hard dense waffles. Brick pork tacos. How do you fumble a taco so badly? How about some trout on your salad? To drive 20 miles in the country for your birthday dinner and be served this embarrassing mess almost made me cry. And then to be comped almost everything you ordered, really didn't make either us feel any better. It's not about the money! Make your customers a simple, fresh, farm to table meal and be generous . It's not that difficult. We came to spend money not be comped. It's insulting and awkward. How about a simple delicious steak, potatoes and veggies. It's just not that hard. So pretentious! I left nauseous.
What a beautiful surrounding! Gorgeous! Had a wonderful flight of wine and a yummiest plate of snacks! Would be nice to have a gift shop!!
Amazing wine and spectacular views!
Beautiful place, great food and wine :)
A great location with some amazing views. The food and wine we're delicious, but the service was terrible. It's not often I feel ignored while I'm at a restaurant. Hopefully we just got a waiter on their off night.
We have been going here since they opened in 1992. We love their garlic pizza bread that they bring when you sit down. It's so good, we buy it to go and have it with a meal prepared at home.
King Estate Winery is my favorite in the United States. My husband and I have been fans of King Estate wine for more than ten years so when we had the chance to go for brunch and wine tasting, we were so excited to go. Boy, the vineyard, food, and wines were amazing! Go early Wednesday - Sunday, if possible, so that you can be there when there aren't so many people. However, check their website for opening times before you go. I'll be back next year!
Brunch and lunch fantastic but dinner is just so so. I expect a lot more the prices that they charge.
Great service, tour, kind, and helpful.
???? Magic.
Beautiful, great wine. Zero plant based options. Everyone knows the vegan picks the restaurant. I'll be back when they get kitchen staff from the modern era!
Beautiful view, friendly staff, and delicious food. Only bad thing is it's not dog friendly :( would be nice to bring my dog to enjoy on a sunny day like most wineries allow.
Nice place, beautiful
We have spent many special occasions out at this winery, to include our engagement. The staff are wonderful and many of the servers have been around for years! It’s a gorgeous property, great wine, and delicious food.
Top quality food, and a unique variety of gourmet dishes for an incredibly fun date with my wife. We had steaks, with a 5 cheese plate and roasted Brussel sprouts that were to die for! A must-do for Eugene foodies!
Summertime lunch outdoors, under a shade umbrella, with wonderful views, excellent food, 5 start wines & my sweetheart. A memory to cherish; an amazing experience.
Consistently excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
Excellent Smokey Reuben sandwich
Excellent food
Very good service very good food.
Absolutely one of the most beautiful wineries I've ever seen. Highly Recommend. I go several times a year. Between June and Sept. Is the best.
Very nice place, food is great but a little pricey. Great for a special dinner.
A beautiful atmosphere, if you like wine tasting this is the place you should go that's awesome and the food and the wine is great
nice winery w/ gorgeous view!
Excellent food and service.
this is my 2nd favorite winery in the eugene area. mostly because the building is so expansive and amazing, the view is just amazing and relaxing. i was lucky enough to finish a cycling race here on the grounds, and ended up picking up a bottle of wine and getting a pre-made wrapped fish sandwich since i just cycled 40 or 60 miles! good and friendly service since i probably appeared to be a sweaty smelly cyclist. also seeing a fast ferrari like car drive up to the other building just added to the atmosphere. if i get back to eugene i'd search this place out to try the restaurant and the pinot noir / gris.
Ate at the restaurant last night and it was absolutely outstanding!!! All 4 of us enjoyed the fillet mignon and it was the best I’ve ever had anywhere at any price. The bone marrow sauce was full of flavor and deliciousness. Our outstanding waiter said it takes 3 days to make. The roasted root vegetables and mashed potatoes were perfection. We had the German chocolate cake for desser. It was decadent and yummy and created perfectly. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!
What a beautiful place to enjoy your lunch with the glass of wine! The food is great and the view is scenic! The only minus is the waiting time, we spent about 15-20 minutes waiting for the table, but they brought us free wine so that is totally made it feel shorter
This is a fine Winery excellent views just go out for the drive alone as well worth it they serve excellent food I've eaten there many times including Christmas dinner and Thanksgiving excellent staff classy place they even allow you to bring your own food and eat out on the deck well you enjoy your bottle of wine I said it once but I'm going to say it again great views do not miss it go for the tour it's very intriguing to see just how they make their products and the history behind the winery
Great wine , food and atmosphere
Farm to table. Breads, gardens, charcuterie , wine all from property. Can't think of too many places better than this! Was lucky enough to have lunch and dinner here - both were top notch. Wine is what draws us here , but the food will keep you wishing we could eat here Always! The Pinot noir is the best!
Premium Wines and a Fantastic Dining Experience!
Great food, great wine, awesome views. Full disclosure: I also work there.
What a beautiful location and setting! Wonderful wines and tasting room. Had fun walking the grounds sipping wine. Decided to stay for lunch! 5 star on the food and service. Dined outside with awesome views of vineyard and valley! Vacant wait to go back with my husband!
Never been there didn't know they had a restaurant, but because of one persons bad review and the response by the owner, i'm gonna go try the rack of lamb..
My mother set up a reservation with King Estate one month ago for my college graduation lunch. When we called to confirm, we were told that no such reservation had been made. The people we spoke with, specifically Brittany and Amanda, furthermore spoke to us as if we had been lying about having a reservation in a very condescending manner. Ultimately, we were hung up on. Tried calling again and were sent to voicemail, called back AGAIN and were sent to voicemail another time. Unfortunately for King Estate, my parents are members at 3+ wineries and had been planning on purchasing a considerable amount of wine at King Estate. Terrible customer service! We not only plan on never coming back, but we will be mentioning this terrible experience to all of our friends who enjoy wine as much as we do.
Dinner with friends last evening. Beautiful setting at sunset. Fireplace lit. Wait staff helpful and knowledgeable. Menu not complicated. Charcuterie choices very tempting. Started with wild boar terrine, goat cheese & roasted beets and scallops. All unique, plated nicely and flavors/textures were amazing. Salmon, filet mignon, crab ravioli and lamb shank followed, except for saying ummmmm, quiet as we ate. A flight of the pinot noir led us to choose the Goodrich, though all were unique and tasty. A most enjoyable evening. Thank you☺
(Translated) Very interesting visit by a wine enthusiast. The wines tasted were very good and allowed me to make a comparison with the pinot produced in France. Perhaps too bad the cost per person is somewhat high. (Original) Visite très intéressante par un passionné du vin. Les vins dégustés étaient très bons et m'ont permis de faire un comparatif avec le pinot élaboré en France. Dommage peut-être que le coût par personne soit quelque peu élevé.
Food was only marginal, but the view was excellent. I liked the wine, but I don't know enough to accurately rate it. I'd go back for the view and atmosphere alone.
Beautiful location, amazing food and best wine. Worth the drive.
????????????
Great tasting room ! Specialties are Pinot Gris
This looks like a beautiful place but they’re medically discriminating against their employees. ????????
Long, but beautiful drive(25 min from Eugene). Beautiful hilltop setting and a chateau stlye lodge. Great service, great food, on the pricey side, but worth it. Perfect for intimate dinner, or groups.
Kudos to you, King Estate Winery, for doing the right thing by requiring your employees to be fully vaccinated. We greatly appreciate that you are trying to do everything possible to keep your staff and patrons healthy and safe. We are visiting in the area, and will most definitely stop by to taste and purchase some of your wines!
We had a party of four. Saturday night during the winter when it wasn't very busy. We'd all been to King Estates before. However this evening was not our best experience. First we ordered 3-4 cheese and meat appetizers. The boar and venison were bland with mild flavor. The cheese was great! We ordered a white and red wine taster. Every wine but one tasted flat as if the bottles had been opened for a couple days. I ordered their boldest red which was a Walla Walla (don't remember the grape), it was flat again. We ordered a burger, filet mignon and two plates of the mushroom ravioli. One ravioli having salmon on top. The filet mignonette was great. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. The vegetables were overly sweet and didn't go well with the rest of the plate. The burger was very good. The mushroom ravioli plates were small for the price and the ravioli were very lightly stuffed. The plate was mild and overall bland. The salmon was very good. For desert we ordered pecan pie, creme brûlée and the bread pudding. The pecan pie was delicious. Bread pudding was good and the creme brûlée was good as well. Overall the night from King Estates was not a very good one. We felt like the chef was holding back and not bringing his/her A game. The food was very expensive for the quality was received. We've all been to King estates before and really liked it but it's just not the same. I don't know what happened. When you spend a good amount of money on dinner you hope you end up with a good experience. I hope King Estates picks it back up again.
Best winery restaurant in the area, it showcases the wines perfectly. Get the seared Albacore, some of the best fish I've had since visiting Hawaii. It was perfectly tender and uber fresh. The roasted beets, charcuterie plate and truffle fries are not to be missed. Take a walk around the grounds, they are beautiful, it looks very much like Burgundy France's Cote-d'Or. And the drive from Eugene is superbly beautiful.
Hit the sweet spot we were looking for...comfortable but still a sense of occasion; food was quite nicely done, mostly familiar dishes but each done with a touch of originality; per another review has a few greek items but really a composite mediterranean menu, some greek, some italian, some turkish...good wine list.
We had hoped to dine at the restaurant, but covid-19 spoiled these plans. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie board and the fish board. Both were amazing. The wine flight was reasonably priced with generous pours. Beautiful vineyards and hills surround the tasting patio. Ample parking with charging stations too.
We had a 2 hour wait for our lunch. After the two hours the waiter comped us a round of wine. A cold grilled salmon arrived 30 minutes later. Crazy. There were customers who arrived after us who got their entrées before we did, lucky them. Luckily I very much I wanted to have time to visit with the people I was dining with. Because of this places beauty and setting I would say go ahead and visit. But be prepared for anything, and maybe you'll be a lucky customer who receives service. About the food, the salmon tasted like it would have been excellent an hour earlier when it was grilled, warm.
Excellent food worth the price!
Enjoyed a lovely wine tasting flight. We had the cheese platter with sausages followed by crab cakes. Filet minot with veggies, salmon with gnochis. Finished up with creme Brule and peach sorbet. Our waiter Riley was outstanding! I highly recommend going out in the evening for a relaxing dinner. Gorgeous view, great atmosphere, excellent wait staff and tasty food!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Wine Tasting: Two free tastes. $5 for 4 more wines, extra charge for others. the 4/$5 is a bit pricier than other places I've seen. Wines are very good, staff are nice. Lunch: Cheese plate = amazing! A bit pricey but pretty good food. Small menu.
Their food match the quality of their wine.
The most wonderful winery in Oregon
Like driving up to a French Chateau. You will be greeted by gorgeous grounds and sprawling fields of wine grapes. Upon entering the winery, you are met by courteous staff who will take you on a wine adventure like I've never had. Some truly amazing vintages that will have you opening your wallet without remorse. Stay for the food because it is simply amazing. And simply don't forget to sample the bacon ice cream. Shockingly delicious...

Wow. We picked this spot because it was open a little later than the rest and we were driving through Eugene…SUCH a gorgeous place - literally like a castle in Spain. This spot is a pretty sustainable operation as well; composting grape skins, using sheep to mow the grass… Their wines were phenomenal. Lots of care and thought into the process. We had a tasting with the pro’s and they were so knowledgable and friendly. We had a charcuterie board which was amazing as well. You can’t beat the view from the patio and service. When we told some friends we stopped there they mentioned how fancy they thought this place was. It definitely is, but the wait staff are also so down to earth, so you absolutely have to make the trip.
Very welcoming and knowledgeable. A beautiful environment to experience awaited.
One of my favorite wineries to visit in the Willamette Valley! Great views and amazing food.
Just up and closed for a week today, cancelling all reservations ...due to the 'virus'...flew in from Chicago for a special event. Disappointed, particularly when no conditions exist in Oregon to warrant that action. Additionally, they moved to a new rez system and didn't bother to cancel the Open Table reservations that existed, so all of those were left open.
Great wine and service. Food...eh. Over priced.
Food was delicious, and our waitress was awesome. The tasting was terrible. Rude, and slow ambassadors. Didn't represent the wine or the winery. Left disappointed.
The only thing I can say good about this place now is the scenery. We've been there many times over the past 5+ years and it's gone down hill. Let's start with the wine...so so wine, not the same hasn't been for a while. We watched while the last time we were there the employees take a glass of champagne and a glass of wine off the same table and pour it back in the bottle. Might not seem like a big deal but what if a gulp was takin out of each glass. When we asked about it they told us "anything to save a buck".Gross!!! Accommodation for eating outdoors was minimal help, and they couldn't get two salads made the right way for the life of them, It was two of the same salads!!! It seems like all employees were kids, very nice customer service just seemed winery was lacking experience that day. This place used be wonderful now maybe think about somewhere else.
Good wine good staff
Complimentary tours are available at the top of every hour. It is lovely to tour the winery and learn more not only about the winery but also about wine in general. I love their restuarant and have never been disappointed. Today my husband had the eggs benedict and I had the chicken. Both delicious. I could nitpick and say that there was too much tarragon on the eggs benedict but I think that that is just my personal preference. I had the rosé and my husband had the pinot gris. A delicious meal with a gorgeous view. Couldn't ask for much more to make a perfect brunch!
Very classy, good dinner, yet not too pretentious; the salmon was amazing. They produce local vinyard's grapes; amazing pinot niors available here in the Willamette valley!
(Translated) It's neatly trimmed and looks great, but it's a bit cost-effective? (Original) 깔끔하게 다듬어져 멋지긴 한데 가성비가 살짝?
Every time I am in Eugene, this place is a must-go! All parts of the dining experience is wonderful. I wish I lived closer.
Wonderful will definitely go there again
Disappointed to have to write a negative review. We arrived for dinner and were told it would be a 45 minute wait for an outdoor table. No problem, happy to enjoy some wine while we waited. Two hours later, we were still waiting. We watched as tables of 4 and 5 were seated ahead of our two top. We watched as a party of 4 arrived and was seated, yes outside, about 10 minutes after they arrived. We checked in up front to inquire. Were told there was some confusion and we absolutely would be seated next. Then they came and took another 4 top and seated them outside and not us. We then decided to leave and saw numerous empty tables outside as we drove away. I am sure they don't fill all tables so as to not overwhelm the kitchen but then they shouldn't seat people indoors ahead of outdoors if it delays so significantly. We felt the staff was subpar and inattentive, and extremely off in the wait estimate. Can't recommend anyone else make the drive. We returned to town and enjoyed a lovely meal at one of the high end restaurants right down the street.
We just stopped in for some coffee and had cappuccinos and a pretty dessert. It was morning before 11:00. The staff was great and explains thing to us. They didn't that we just wanted coffee. What a find. Its a great place for lunch or dinner too.
Probably my favorite Winery in Oregon. Beautiful view, great wine selection, delicious food, friendly staff, and very clean. I highly recommend! Their North by Northwest Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon is delightful!
A beautiful atmosphere, if you like wine tasting this is the place you should go that's awesome and the food and the wine is great
Beautiful drive out there from Eugene. Excellent venue overlooking the valley. Friendly staff and the cheese platters are quite good. Highly recommend visiting.
Excellent wine and food top notch
Wine was very good! My husband tried a red flight and I did a Rose flight. All wines we tried were phenomenol! The outdoor seating area was lovely, and the grounds immaculate. We ordered lunch, the crab benedict and the halibut, and both were lacking in flavor and were way overpriced. Would highly recommend the wine, but not the food. Also, it is definitely more "uppity" feeling than some of the other nearby wineries.
Gorgeous. Wonderful wines and great service.
Great winery on top of hill with spectacular view of the valley. Four of us had afternoon tastings of top whites and pinot noirs. Bought a couple bottles of their Domaine pinot gris and pinot noir. Highly recommend the cheese plate to go with.
Eric and Mary provided genuine hospitality and exceptional service!
Best food, excellent service
Great wines, foods and venue; including a beautiful view! They have lots of vines on their own property but also contract with other NW vinyards in order to produce more types of wines. The winery and restaurant sit atop a hill. It's a gorgeous setting. They also use locally raised meats & estate grown greens. Of course you can go just for wine tasting &/or to tour their winery.
One of our favorite wines out of the Willamette Valley we had to stop and we were glad we did! Beautiful property beautiful operation clean rustic and friendly. Timmy one of the properties somalia's (I assume) and guide hosted us for our tasting and then we put our coats on for a chilly tour of the operation and the property he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel right at home!... We were so impressed we made a reservation for dinner later on that evening and after visiting some nearby wineries came back and had a fantastic Fireside Dinner that was absolutely wonderful.
We had a dinner reservation for 5pm. We arrived early, checked in with the hostess and went to taste wine. At 5:15 we still hadn't been seated. Finally at 5:30 we were showed to our table. We ordered fairly quickly because we were starving. It took 50 minutes from ordering to receiving out food. When a restaurant is busy, I'm understanding. Had our server been attentive, I would have been understanding. Instead we were ignored. The wine is delicious. The food was tasty. But after out service, I will not be back and would discourage others from coming here for food.
A must see on any Eugene area winery tour. Napa has nothing on these guys!
~I've been here twice, once with a group I was taking on a tour of Eugene, and once with my family. It was really nice for the group. They treated us very well and everyone had an excellent time. The area is very nice and the drive out there isn't bad at all. ~When I went with my family the food was delicious. We had the cream waffle and a burger. Our food took 40+ minutes to come, which was a bit annoying but it was quite delicious. I ordered my burger well done but part of it was pink (made me gag, lol) Since it was sooo good before I noticed the pink, I didn't complain. We don't drink wine so I can't comment on that. ~The tour is short and interesting, even if you're like me and not really into wine. ~This would be a great place to have a wedding (as many do) and to bring the family for lunch. There were quite a few other families there with children, and they have good outdoor seating which I think works good for kids.
Nice compound, great wine and food.
Beautiful area and food to die for. I enjoy ever stay I have there
Beautiful estate. We were blown away with the gorgeous scenery and how serene the atmosphere was. Dinner was delicious and service was excellent. Wine flights are a fun way to sample their amazing selection. We were celebrating our anniversary and the setting was so romantic. We were visiting from out of state and we look forward to visiting this place again when we come back.
Creative menu, wonderful food. A very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere is also lovely. Really feels like treating yourself when you dine here.
Very nice place, food is great but a little pricey. Great for a special dinner.
Great food awesome ambiance
Very nice restaurant. Incredible views.☺
Beautiful location!! Excellent wine!! Truly, a fun experience!!
Good food. Nice staff. Great wine. Spectacular surroundings
Beautiful vineyard and winery. There's a gorgeous view and the winery, tasting room and restaurant are built in an Italian style Villa building with a tiles roof. There are some very impressive wine varieties to try particularly their Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir Domaine wines. Definitely worth a trip whether youre a full on connoisseur or even if youre just casual wine drinker.
I've been to this Vineyard a few times and was looking forward to going again once Oregon mandates were lifted. I saw King Estates is requiring their employees to get vaccinations before they're able to come back to work. I would never patron a business that requires us of their staff or employees! They will still have to wear masks and social distance so what's the point? There's too many other vineyards to choose from and considering this I will never return.
Great dining experience. The food was exquisite. My favorite wine tasting flight was the dark red. Highly recommended.
I had a vacation in the Eugene Oregon area for week and when I heard King's Estate, one of my favorite wineries, was it within driving distance I couldn't wait to go. It delivered on all accounts! The view, the grounds and the scenery were absolutely stunning. The wine tasting was a fantastic experience. Our wine educator Eric was very approachable an knowledgable about the wine, the winery and Willamette Valley. There is so much to know and learn and he helped us navigate it all without making it boring or overwhelming. We are seated immediately and tended to by the staff throughout our entire meal. Johnathan (pronounced Yon-ah-thin) kept our water glasses full, brought and kept our breadbasket full of delicious estate made bread and was just very pleasant to be around. He really seemed to enjoy his job and be happy about life. The food was world class. I've eaten in all kinds of restaurants from hole in the wall mom and pops to 2 star Michelin. The food was incredible! From taste to presentation, it was amazing. We had Dungeness crab cakes that looked and tasted fresh, full of crab meat and crisp on the outside but delicate on the inside. We also had a dozen oysters that kitchen split for my husband and I to share. They were a juce size for Pacific oysters and delicious. I love Caesar salad and the one served at Kings Estate is my absolute favorite. Our entrees were amazing. Eric suggested the halibut and scallops and we are so glad we tried them. The scallops and halibut were cooked perfectly. Not too dry or underdone. The accompaniments really highlighted the protein making the dishes balanced. The icing on the cake was our view from our outside table. I highly recommend you sit outside and arrive early as the tables filled up quickly. We had a 5:15 reservation but spent so much time with Eric that we werent ready to be seated until 5:30 which wasnt a problem or poo pooed by the stFf at all. We got a table outside right by the railing so had an obstructed view of the rolling hills showcasing the vines below and surrounding farms. It was stunning!
I will be honest I love King Estate wine. I frequent their winery and purchase their wine from the grocery store often... but after hearing about your new requirement for your employee’s, that they must get the covid vaccine or not work there, I REFUSE to purchase your product and visit your winery. I will not support a company that pushes their political agendas on to anyone. Employers have NO right to dictate medical decisions, discriminate, or haze employees to conform.
My favorite winery hands down! From the delicious food and wine, to the service, everyone is outstanding. The view from the terrace is amazing.
Fantastic and awesome winery to go with the family!! The great views all around it is breathtaking. A good choice to be out of town on any day. You won't regret.
I haven't been to the actual restaurant but they have a amazing mothers day brunch! The wine of course is fantastic and is selling everywhere!
The food and atmosphere were amazing getting to dine while looking over the vineyards at sunset. The dining experience was exceptional having tried the roast duck and the estate burger with foie gras. The roasted hazelnuts, pickled assortments, and carpaccio were delicious and the indulgence was worth every penny.
Excellent experience with my group. The best staff we had of all of the wine tours. Beautiful views and facility too! I hope to return soon.
Wonderful setting for a great experience. Wine, food and ambiance.
Disappointed with the sharp decline in food quality. Ever since Michael Landsberg took the helm, I've been taking VIPs and guests from out of town, and dined for our special occasion birthdays and anniversary meals. This was a ship without a captain, held afloat by untrained line cooks. The lackluster menu raised a red flag but it's not a place where you can leave and find another restaurant next door (30 mins drive from town). We weren't even served the charcuterie menu. Buckwheat crepes were an underwhelming execution - simply sheets of crepe and jam, no fruits, or an attempt to a nice presentation. Steak & Eggs - little better than diner food. Any brunch eateries in town (Brail's, Agate Alley, Studio One) can match the quality. Two overcooked poached eggs plated on the edge of the plate. Roasted chicken - simply overcooked and dry. Used to be a consistently juicy, and succulent dish. King salmon - served with bitter, black, rotten potatoes. Why bother prepping, cooking, and plating black potatoes? Black side faced down and unbeknownst until you bite into it? Very malicious.
All solid wines
Good wine. Great food. Great experience!
e awoke to pouring rain on one of our last days of our Oregon vacation. Having to forego enjoying one of the hot springs due to the weather, the hosts at our Vida, OR B&B recommended a few wineries to visit. Since we are both red wine drinkers we thought we would sample some of the local Oregon wines. Although...
Great wines, great restaurant and fantastic visit of the winery. Looking forward to going back.
Amazing food. Delicious wines. Impecable service. Great view.
Food was great, atmosphere was amazing. We tried both the Pinot noir and the Pinot Gris flights. Both were phenomenal. Well worth the drive from Eugene.

Fantastic wine, beautiful setting, great charcuterie platters...just beware of the bees lurking outside
So disappointed in our Sunday brunch service, even with a reservation. We waited ten minutes to get water and had to finally flag a server down. I later asked for salt which never came. Got up and tackled a server so I could put some on my cold meal. The place was honestly not busy, so I was surprised. We drove down from Corvallis for a "special" afternoon... bummer. The place is gorgeous, we love their wine, so I had a higher expectation for the amount of money we spent.

Best bread pudding I've ever eaten. Do climb up the tower on the tour--great views. Recommend patio dining for weather & views. Backbone Pinot Noir is excellent.
Excellent food, wonderful views, and informative staff, whether they were talking about food choices or the type of wines they're making.
