If you are visiting and only have time to for one winery in Napa Valley, Del Dotto is the one. I have been coming back for years, brought family and friends and it was a great experience every time. IMO the best wines in California and a fun and laid back atmosphere. Very different from some of the stuffy wineries you may find in Napa. Btw, I have tried Del Dotto wines against several much pricier Super Tuscans and Bordeaux grand cru classe A wines. IMO DD beat every one of them. So whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply looking for a fun spot to do some quality day time drinking, you're going to have a great time. If you have time to plan ahead, do the barrel tasting experience at the estate winery. If the weather is nice and you want to also enjoy a snack outside, you will like the tastings with food pairing at Piazza Del Dotto. Enjoy!!

We just visited Napa for my 30th birthday and knew we wanted to do a wine cave with barrel tasting. We had looked into another local wine cave but decided on giving Del Dotto instead and I’m so glad we did! Doug, our tour host was very knowledgeable and really gave us the experience we were looking for, great wine with a side of wine making education. The pizza at the end was a nice and unexpected touch too.

The winery is not big but has a nice unique building. My wife and I visited there in last November and paid $172.4 for barrel wine tasting. The wines were pretty good. But the guide rushed out and we had to empty our glass quickly since they only provided one wine glass for the tasting. I expected it would take one and half hour but our wine tasting was finished just in 20 minutes. We had to throw away unfinished wine to try a different wine. The pizza was provided at the end but they didn't offer different wines at that point unless we purchase wines there. Their wines are pretty pricy. I wouldn't revisit.

You have got to be kidding me. This is the kind of place people who think Las Vegas is nice recommend. They served a bunch of 2015 cabernets. If you don't see that as a problem then feel free to buy one of their juvenile bottles for $200.

Definitely a must visit for any wine lover or any visitor with a desire to taste some good wine. My favorites here are the Cave Blend and ALL of their French Oak Cabs. It’s too bad that their wines are really hard to get at retail outlets, they just make me visit them all the more. Plan to spend at least 1.5 hours on this pit stop. There are three properties of Del Dotto, I think this one’s the best for wine but I may be biased. :)

This was my favorite winery on our trip to Napa. The wine was good, but the staff was so friendly and really gave so much more personal attention than anywhere else we went. The woman behind the counter was pretty snooty and not friendly despite them not being busy, which is unusual as so many folks at other wineries are so lovely. They only use the first squeeze of the grapes to make the finest wine possible. No expense was spared in building this palace of a winery with art and marble imported from Italy. The tours are intimate with just 2 couples and led by an extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide (ours was Patrick). Poured wine with a heavy hand. 8 glasses each. Served us hot food at the end. Luxurious couches upstairs to relax when it’s over. The highlight of our trip. The tour is exceptional, the wines are exceptional, and the ambiance is exceptional. Highly recommend!

Hands down my favorite winery in Napa. Not only is it beautiful inside and unique in that you are not in gardens like many other wineries, but the amount of wine you get to try, is significantly more than any other vineyard. We always visit Del Dotto when we come to Napa and always follow it up with a trip to Gotts :) Excited to try their 2 other locations next time we are in town.

Wonderful experience! At first my friends and I were a little skeptical about the $75pp charge; however, it was well worth the price. We started with barrel tasting in their cave for about an hour. The guide explained their different wines and the differences between the oak barrels. After the caves, we had pizza, meats and cheese paired with several additional wines. In the end, we had port paired with dark chocolate. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time.

Del Dotto is the best. My husband and I recently took a couples trip to Napa and visited the Del Dotto caves for a second time around, and it was just as great as we remembered. The staff here is so passionate about the wines, and both of their properties are amazing. Because there are multiple locations you may assume this is a corporate-style winery- IT'S NOT! The experience is as personalized and top notch as it gets. The cave tour is a great time and the pizza and cheese plate at the end was a great touch. All of their wines are fantastic! This has become our Napa Valley tradition. My only disappointment is that I can't become a member of the Del Dotto family! Cheers!

A fantastic upscale winery. We had a group of eleven, including young kids, and the staff successfully got everyone’s attention. It was our first time to taste wine made in clay barrels. Del Dotto Wineray Estate is done in an Italian ornate style that replicates Tuscany. The caves have terra cottages tiles and chandeliers imported from Italy. Thier Zinfandel is exquiste.

Del Dotto overall was my favorite tasting and tour in Napa Valley, and I visited 9 different wineries during my stay. The cave and barrel experience was so unique, and the wine made it even more incredible. I'm a Cabernet Sauvignon lover, and Del Dotto had a large, delicious selection as well as a few Pinot Noirs that I actually liked. Del Dotto, specifically the cave experience, is a must on any trip to Napa Valley!

Felt like my glass was always empty, very expensive tour and tasting at 120 dollars per person. The pours were tiny and for the price it felt cheap. It felt like the winey only cared about making money and not the experience. The winey was beautiful and the wine was very good, it was just hard to truly enjoy the experience because I always felt like I was on the last sip. My wine came in yesterday - my husband and I Ordered a half case, however, it arrived extremely dirty! Is this normal for them? The only way I can respond from Del dotto response... we spent 1 week in Napa purchased 7 cases of wines from other vineyards. None came in the way you are suggesting. Each one of the vineyards used the same bottle stability that you used. When I cleaned them off the napkin was black.

Visiting Del Dotto was the highlight of our Napa trip. Tasting the wines directly from the barrel in the caves was a truly special experience. The wines themselves are pricey, but definitely worth it as they are exceptional. Would highly recommend a visit to Del Dotto for anyone visiting Napa.

Del Dotto wines are the best or among the best in the world. The tour experience is the best in California for many reasons. First, the wines are spectacular. Second, the locations are superior. Third, the staff is knowledgeable and highly trained. Fourth, the wine tasting experience is educational and exhilarating. Fifth, there often are tasty food delights. Sixth, you can then buy wines which are not available any other place. Enough said?

Thanks cave experience and tasting is incredible! The building itself is beautiful and the guide is able to tell you all about it. You get to try 8 wines and they bring out a fair amount of snacks at the end too. Meats, cheeses, small pizzas. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this!

Fun experience and good wines, be prepared to have at least six glasses, most likely more. The pizza,cheese and meats at the end of the tour are really good. Just a reminder, they have two locations with caves, make sure you are going to the correct one.

DO NOT GO TO PIAZZA -Was not treated very nicely at the end of our tour were told we told too loud and out of control by Simon. Ultimately that is not just just true paid a good amount per couple over $1K per couple between the tasting and wine tour which not great and in the end were embarrassed. We have been to the historic tavern and Estate tours which many friends which has never been an issue until today. I am sadden as yes after many glasses of wine we may have been a bit loud at the end but this have never been an issue at any winery until we visited until today. So unless you plan on being on your best behavior - quiet, eloquent and not verbose DO NO GO to this winery

Absolutely awesome experience! The tasting room is absolutely beautiful. The cave tour and barrel tastings were among my favorite in Napa! The wine was delicious and we could not resist bringing home several bottles. The pizza was fantastic at the end of the tour. I would encourage reservations as each tour is highly customized and space is limited.

First of all, if you come here try your hardest to get Simon. This man is an amazing tour guide and wine connoisseur. He was friendly, engaging, descriptive, FUNNY, and genuine. It's hard to find a tour guide in Napa that isnt pretentious or condescending. He is exactly none of those things. He made an enjoyable experience into an outstanding experience. Del Dotto, on a whole, is great. Beautiful winery with a unique experience. It's one of the better wineries in Napa especially if you are a fan of Cabs. The food is incredible and the gardens (especially those turkeys are a nice touch!) But the shining star is Simon.

Excellent experience! Our guide Jeff really went the extra mile to make sure my lady and I had a great time, and fully answered all of our questions. From the road it's definitely easy to miss, but if you get the chance, strongly recommended. Wines are mostly Cabernet Sauvignon reds, which makes sense based on where they're located in the valley.

Went to Del Dotto very excited and left feeling used. The experience they offer is very overpriced for what you get, and our host was quite low on his level of fun and very high on his level of snootiness. They have good wine, but there is a lot of good wine in the area for much more down to earth price points. The experience seems like it is a wine tasting in caves and meat and cheese pairing after the tour. Although that is true, both are on the slim side. The tastings were small and you were not given an opportunity to taste a second time. The meat and cheese plate they put out is more sized for two and they served it to eight. This left everyone feeling uncomfortable that they might be taking away the chance for someone to try something on the plate as there wasn't even a taste of each element for each person. This part of the tour is also very rushed at the end after you do the cave tour and while they are hoping you buy their overpriced wine - $85 - $195 a bottle which is not even bottled yet. The cave itself seems gimmicky too. In terms of our host, he started out fine with a nice greeting, but became more and more snooty as the tour went on. Someone needs to tell these folks how to have fun and welcome guests; especially those who may be shelling out that kind of cash.

I have to say... This and their other winery (Piazza del Dotto) are real ARTWORKS compared to the other wineries in the area. These are real jewels in construction, design and details. Because details make the big difference. The wine is amazingly great (the Beast is indeed a beast of wine!), as well as the service and the staff. I truly recommend the experience to all enthusiasts of wine, design, architecture and artwork.
