I ordered Vegetable chow mein from Citylight buffet, and was surprised and disappointed to see a dish of just vegetables when I was expecting noodles. I went back to complain and the hostess immediately understood my problem, and got the kitchen to make Lo Mein (which is the noodle dish I thought I was going to get). The host and the lady at the counter diffused the situations with Grace and information, so I walked away with good food, a lesson on a culture I didn't know enough about, and a new preferred restaurant. Wonderful staff.

Ordered two coconut chicken ... it was the worst! toughest meat and so stringy ... it tasted great but was impossibleto chew... took it home for the dog... I dont understand shoestring chicken.. even the batter was chewy.. The service was sub par... not friendly.. not interesting Wont go back

DO NOT GO HERE WITH A SERVICE DOG!!! They were VERY rude and moved us to the back of the restaurant in the 'party room' so we would not be seen. They treated my whole family bad. Terrible customer service, okay food. I do not recommend.

Came here on Sunday, 7th of April 2019 in a group of about 25+ people after hearing mass but had to leave as receptionist was very rude to us especially my wife and little kids. It was a very disappointing experience. Management should teach their staff how to treat customers better. Good luck to this place but we will never set foot in this establishment again.

Worst Chinese I’ve had in years. I asked for egg rolls which I always use to judge a Chinese restaurant And got spring rolls. . However I was told they WERE egg rolls. They were small and wrapped with philo type dough ( spring rolls). Ordered soo guy got what looked and tasted like breaded store bought chicken. It was 630 pm on a Tuesday and my car was only one on parking lot .i should have guessed but I haven’t visited town for awhile so it didn’t dawn on me that it could have gone down hill so much.i will Never be going back!

The food tastes quite good, and the staff were very friendly. The highlights for me were the wonton soup and hot and sour soup, allowing me to have "hot and sour wonton soup ". So good. The second bonus was the delicious pork dumplings, with small bowls nearby so you can bring some of the sauce (goya-ish) back to your table for dipping. Other unique fare included sticky buns, dim sum and white rice. The chicken and broccoli was a nice variation. Recommended.

Great location, perfect for lunch. Food is a little bland, I won't lie, but it's usually fresh and enjoyable, especially if you show up at buffet open. Supper buffet is more expensive, but offers a wider variety of food options than the lunch buffet. Ordering off the menu is usually hit or miss, some food is amazing, other not so much. Staff are extremely courteous and service is awesome, every time I go to the buffet, my table is usually clean by the time I get back. Resturant is clean and appealing. Stop by for your next lunch. You'll have a good time.

I go here often and the food is always amazing. It's true that the servers could be a little more attentive but what they lack in quick refills and conversation they more than make up for in being kind to their customers. My girlfriend and I showed up in the last hour of the buffet one night when business was slow, there wasn't much food left and what was there had grown cold but instead of shrugging at us they asked us what we'd like and cooked up fresh batches. They were more than generous and it has endeared me to the place ever since.

Large selection of food with lots of variety. Some items, like honey garlic ribs tasted off but others such as calamari were delicious. Staff were friendly but not attentive - asked for a refill of water and waitress came with a jug and filled every tables glasses but missed us!! Overall we did enjoy and will return.

I find it hard to rate restaurants in this current soon-to-be post Covid-19 Era as they are working under extraordinary circumstances HOWEVER that in mind, the food here is great, service was equally as good. Like the ambiance and will definitely be back once they are back up to full speed to check out their buffet.

Pros: Order was prepared fast and it was still hot when I picked it up; chicken "balls" were were not round, but were delicious; fried rice was really good; you do get a fair amount of food for the money. Cons: They neglected to include the fortune cookies in all the orders; the egg rolls were a little bland; it really needs salt. This was the first Chinese takeout that I've ever had to salt. Was it the best Chinese food I've ever had? No. Would I eat it again? Yes, but I will be checking for missing items from my takeout order in the future.

The food is absolutely fantastic, even more flavourful than the buffets, but even the buffets were fantastic too. The service was quick, food was hot and delicious, the server was friendly and efficient. I ordered a $12.99 platter and was pleased with portion sizes and quantity. I've had City Light both at the buffet and delivered. Both options present different advantages and disadvantages and may appeal to different people. Personally I prefer to have CL delivered because I find the quality of the food is significantly higher. Prices are not unreasonable and it's some of the better Chinese take out I've had, an easy 4 stars for me. The variety is also pretty strong though certain staples for NL Chinese food are on offer. The real strengths of the dine-in experience are the variety of food and the décor. Whoever designed the interior and decoration of the place did, by my limited understanding of style, great. The place looks unique and more upscale than any Chinese place I've been before. Every time I go to CL theres a different menu item on the buffet. Tonight there were different mini sushi rolls than I'd seen before as well as full sized BBQ ribs. It never hurts to keep me guessing with a buffet so I love that about it. However the quality of the food can definitely suffer and are rarely the level of taste that I would like. 3/5 for the buffet but subjective to your tastes.

This used to be a good place for lunch but the quality has slipped. When you have only 5 out of 30+ tables occupied at 12:30, obviously others have noticed. No 7-up, really? Won ton soup was so so and not hot. Beef & peppers, tough chewing. Chicken & broccoli, tough chewing. I like crisp vegetables but not raw. Honey garlic ribs, undercooked. Wings, undercooked. Overall food was bland, tasteless. And no wifi, come on. Suggest owners visit Restaurant 99 to see how Chinese food is done properly.

Since they had the renovations on the outside of the building (which looks worse than what they had there before I might add), the prices have risen quite a bit, last time I went there i ended up paying five dollars more than the previous time i went there, also last time we had just arrived when buffet was starting and the food was already cold, not even warm. Another time I went there and a woman who I assumed was the manager or supervisor, was feeling kinda bold and scolded me for having a few pieces of sushi left on my plate, i lied and said i found a hair in them just to get her to leave me alone, then she asked me to show her the hair, lololol, i said i threw it somewhere.

City Light has become the restaurant of choice for when my parents come to town. The food has always been great, and they have a large selection compared to most other Chinese restaurants here. The roast pork is my favorite thing on the buffet (only disappointment is that they do not always have it). It is very juicy and flavorful. Followed by the General Tso Chicken. Every Chinese restaurant seems to have General Tso Chicken, however non is quite as good as City Light's. Service has always been quick and friendly, even during very busy days. I once took my girlfriend there on Valentine's day without a reservation, our wait to be seated was only about 10 minutes.

So goes to order take out for the husbands and it was 3$ cheaper for the take out, and couldn’t give me a reason why take out was cheaper then eating in. What is the extra 3$ for the dish washer, the cooks etc there has to be a reason besides just sitting in to eat.

Polite and attended servers and staff. The best buffet in town for lunch and dinner. Lunch has all your wanted Chinese and Chinese Canadian mains, a sushi spread, all the favourites. Dinner takes a step up and puts out even more dishes that will have you going back for plate after plate. Plan your plates because it's easy to gorge. Delicious food! They also have a menu option which I have yet to order off of, but I hear good things! The atmosphere itself is lovely, very trendy and can be romantic. Casual and classy.

Arrived just before the lunch buffet time ended so was planning to order á la carte but we were left waiting almost 15min. We even started wondering how the system worked, did we have to get an menu ourselves from somewhere?
