Now this firm receives a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and this rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is nearly the top, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can be pretty sure that the rating is very credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
Wonderful winery with lovely wines. Tasted 5 different red ones and all of them were heavenly, also got a glass of rosé (it was like 100F outside so that was so sweet) and that as well was so nice. Emily did a nice job assisting us, can highly recommend this place!
Beautiful place and good wines but absurdly light pour for the price.
The tour of the winery was great and we had a wonderful time. This review is about the wine club. DO NOT JOIN. I joined after a nice tour to the winery, and initially had a good experience. Always got a call before a shipment and after to see if I wanted to reorder, etc. Had at least 4-5 calls with the lady assigned as my “rep” or whatever they would call it. Months in, and after a couple wine shipments, I tried to order wine on a rush order for a party I was having. IE: instead of going to my local store and buying wine I decided to continue supporting benziger above the twice yearly shipments. Had a good call in which I agreed to buy even more wine than I originally intended to get reduced shipping (because again it was an order I wanted to receive within about a week’s time). Agreed to the quote/terms on the phone and then the invoice sent to me email was totally different. I tried to call my “rep’s” number 3+ times over the next 1-2 weeks to resolve and left at least 2 voicemails. No calls were ever returned and I have not heard from them one time since then. No check in calls, pre/post shipment calls, and of course no calls concerning the multiple voicemails I left. This was at least 6 months ago. Very surprising and disappointing based on my initial positive experience. Waited for another scheduled wine club shipment to see if this would change but it’s been silence. Will not continue to support, as there are plenty of other good places to buy wine from.
The winery is next to Jack London State Historic Park. The patio with about 5 tables. $20 per person for 5 wines tasting (you don't get much, so won't be drunk...) A small lily pool with photos about the winery history, good for selfies. I ended up buying 3 bottles of wine.
Joshua our tour guide was wonderful. Our group took the Tribute Estate Tour. The Benziger Family Winery is extremely beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour.
Loved the tour and grounds. The $25 tour includes a tasting.
absolutely gorgeous grounds, the nicest Winery I've ever been to. A good place to come on a date - hopefully with somebody who deserves it! Wonderfully friendly staff, reasonable prices for some of the best wine I have ever had out of California. Five out of five, will definitely be back here.
Fantastic tour and wine tasting experience. The tour guide, John, was very informative and knowledgable about the winery process. If you want a tour of a vineyard in Sonoma, this is the place to go.
We did a tour here pre C19. Beautiful setting, near Jack London State Park (also a great visit). Gorgeous estate. Highly maintained vineyards with at least one being biodynamic. Perfectly executed tour with the right of information for a neophyte but succinctly presented so as to not bore an oenophile. This was a family operation sold to The Wine Group which is a significant corporate player. But, tour wise, it still has a local family feel. We've done a number of tours in Cali and France. Compared to other Cali tours, we'd put this in the upper 25% of tours. Very impressive. My stars are awarded for the tour and the visit. Wine wise, they sell an entry level Cab selling for sub $15 that, frankly, is a solid new world wine that is comparable to a lot of other decent Cali wines in the same price range. They offer several Pinot Noirs of which I've had two. For my palate these wines are too concentrated and are classic Cali Pinots. Many argue that its too hot and dry for Pinot in CA and, full disclosure, I'm in that camp. But if you like that style, these are quality, well made wines. For me, their best foot forward is shown through their Biodynamic Cabernets. I've had 3 all of which were full bodied with black cherry and blackberry notes and hints of green and black pepper. These are high ABV wines that are bold but are still well rounded and present depth and length. There's a lot of competition at a $70 price point but these wines are towards the front of the pack. They also produce a very solid Chardonnay. I could be wrong but I think that they source the grapes from around the county. Regardless, what I tasted was a whole-cluster pressed wine fermented in oak barrels producing a classic Cali Chard layered with peach, lemon curd, pear, and flowers. Some vanilla but not overpowering. Very well executed. The bottom line is that the tour is a great time, you'll taste some wonderful wine, and you should probably budget for buying some to take back because they are worth it.
DO THE PARTNERS TOUR. It was amazing. Patrick our tour guide was amazing and Paul who did our private tasting was incredible. If youre in Sonoma you have to check this place out. great people, great presentation/story and great wine. A+
Beautiful location and interesting wines. Hard working and forward thinking family.
The staff was wonderful. Very attentive and nice. The biodynamic tour was great. It was super informative and fun. Definitely worth the cost. Loved the wine!
Awesome tour! Must do premium tour! Wonderful wine! Beautiful! Smart!
We took the tour. The experience was amazing and had purchased the upgraded tasting room. Amazing place to start in Sonoma and they sent us to their sister winery "Imagery" for another free tasting right after.
Really good tour. Got to see the whole estate.
Awesome
We had the Sonoma/Napa experience last week! This is a great place to visit. The Benziger Family Winery was definately in our top 3 out of the 9 vineyards we visted. We did the Tram Tour which I highly recommend because it was a great experience and seeing that this was our last winery of the day, we were tired of walking : ) Beautiful grounds. I love the fact that they are a biodynamic certified winery. It was a great learning experience, and you gain great information in that short of time. The tour was of the grounds, vineyards, crush pad, wine caves, and the end was a semi-private tasting.
Such amazing wines and kind friendly people
Tonya was our wine guide. Loved the Tribute tour...especially the wine cave. Worth every penny for experience. Very good wines. Beautiful property. Friendly staff.
One of my favorites! I've been back a few years in a row, and always have a fantastic experience. Solid wines, great service, and a must-see tour.
Great wines, informative tour
Front desk was very welcoming and perfectly charming but it all'stopped post that. Admittedly, we had not made a reservation for tasting but the lack of customer service is appalling here. Won't be returning in a hurry! There were quite a few available tables but they pointed us to a bench me under the hot sun. Very underwhelmed. Left the wine and walked away.Verunderwhelmed by The r wines too.
Wonderful experience. If you are into the organic/vege/healthy/environmentally conscious/biodynamic stuff you have to go there. The employee will drive you through the winery, describe the history of the winery, their process of making wine and some other details. It’s 30$ per person but worth it. They have now 25th anniversary.
Beautiful vineyard. Tour is also good for understanding wine making.
Party of 5 took the Partners tour and tasting. Don was our host. I would recommend highly. He did a great job explaining the history, winemaking and wines during the 1 1/2 hour tour. Listened to our questions, responded directly, very knowledgeable. Wines were great. Excellent experience. Tasted wine while on tour and then back at the starting point. Had fun.
Great winery.
Great location and winery. I believe you get a bit more at this winery by taking of their tractor rides where they talk about the winery and caves that they have. It includes a tasting and is well worth the trip/experience if you like wine(this winery is a bit different than most, which they explain on the tour) or if you don't(Nice scenery on the tractor ride).
Went here on a private group tour. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and the grounds were very well-maintained.
Beautiful large vineyard that you could spend a good amount of time just walking around.
Great tour but pricey. Come during the week when more is happening at the winery.
The best tour ever
Nice wine. Great location. Seems Sonoma is becoming a commercial place and same is Benziger. Need to keep the same family type set up.
Our family of 4 (including 2 teens) enjoyed the tour very much. We learned about what it takes to farm biodynamically and how the winery produces its product. We were even lucky enough to pet one of the farm's many days-old lambs. Our tour guide, David, was excellent and we took home 3 bottles of nice reds. Highly recommend, especially if you're traveling with kids.
Mike was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and informative. Very kid friendly winery and tour. Beautiful winery, clean, with public restrooms. End of tour wine tasting was enjoyable.
The Tram Tour was incredibly informative (our guide Patrick was knowledgeable, personable, fun and funny) and the biodynamic method of growing is quite fascinating, the vineyard itself is beautiful. Well worth the price (and it includes a wine tasting).
Excellent wine after a visit to Jack London park
Benziger is one of my favorite Northern California vineyards because it creates superb wines in a sustainable fashion, using biodynamic gardening practices. I highly recommend touring their vineyard and beautiful gardens.
Absolutely beautiful property. A must see.
Amazing wines, amazing environment they have and lovely staff, unique organic and biodynamic wine, love it!!! Definitely is my best winery ???? .
Lovely views, great location, a bit away from crowds, nice area but wines are so so. I think the reasons wines are not that great is why I have given them 4 stars. I like matured Red Cab, Pinot or even Merlots but the selection here is not something I would jump and buy.
We had the Sonoma/Napa experience last week! This is a great place to visit. The Benziger Family Winery was definately in our top 3 out of the 9 vineyards we visted. We did the Tram Tour which I highly recommend because it was a great …
Good but not amazing wines. A little pricey for what they are from an European perspective. We’re there for an event. The food was really good. Overall a very good experience an a very friendly athmosphere like being guest at big family.
Beautiful property, with great little places to picnic. All biodynamic wines, not my favorite in Sonoma but still good
This is one of the high-end wineries that don't cost an arm and a leg. They are family owned. And how the lovely property, you should go on the tour. One of the best in Sonoma or Napa.
My husband and I only spent one day in Sonoma, since he doesn't particularly like wine. Benziger was our second stop, and by far our favorite winery. We took the farm tour & had a great guide - both personable and informative. We really enjoyed learning about the biodynamic & organic farming efforts, the grape varieties and growing environments, the wine processing & cave storage, all with a glass or two of their chardonnay along the way. The land is breathtaking - picturesque with hills of vineyards, olive trees, flowers, and even a small redwood grove! From the farm workers, to the tour operators, to the tasting room personnel, all the employees we met were friendly, informative, and approachable. And the wine was delicious - my husband even found 2 bottles he liked. They had a few "grades", with tasting options for most. The only thing we found annoying were the 2 couples who brought along their 2-3 year old kids (we have 5 kiddos, so we aren't nontolerant, anti-kid personalities). While the kids enjoyed riding around the vineyards, they were too young to be still or quiet when the tour guide was talking. To his credit, the tour guide remained professional, trying to minimize the distractions and ensure the rest of us still had a great experience. All in all, I would highly recommend this winery. The tasting room, photography opportunities, and learning experiences were top notch without being "over the top" or "snooty". I would not recommend this location, and especially the tours, for children under the age of 8 or 9. Older children would likely enjoy the educational aspects of the tour & of course the views!
I support the Benziger Family Winery because I believe in their biodynamic farming philosophy. Their vineyard is beautiful and dotted with insectaries and other biodynamic ecosystems. Oh, and the wine is good too!
Excellent tour and tasting service, ask for Emilio
We stopped into Benzinger with a coupon for a free tasting. They were very accommodating and let us share a 5 sample tasting. The winery itself is one of the most scenic we have been to. It's surrounded by a dormant volcano and rolling hills. We also ended up with a free tasting of the tribute blend. Great visit.
Beautiful Winery!!! Definitely recommend the Partners Tour!! Gregg did a great job! If you are in Sonoma, this winery is a must see!! You won't regret it!!
Walked in for a tasting and had a great time. The staff behind the counter were great, and the wines were wonderful. At the top of the list for wineries that we visited on our trip.
Horrible service. All personnel are stuck up, rude, and snobbish. Only one exception, Emilio was amazing and very nice and took his time and was very professional and accommodating. Yay for Emilio. All else were pathetic. I would not recommend. This place is a waste of your time and money. You are not valued or appreciated here. Beware.
Beautiful property
Amazing!! Diane the sommelier was fantastic!! A magical fun Sunday with my family. Thank you so much!!!
The staff was not the most friendly and polite. The serving size for tastings were the smallest I have ever seen. I would not recommend this place.
Fun tour and very nice wines. Missed out on the caves (covid, meh!), but well worth it.

Great hospitality! Great wines!
Stopped at Benziger Winery for a quick wine tasting. We were initially supposed to be in a private tasting room but since the wine tour was delayed they moved us to the main tasting area, which was fine except that the person doing the tasting was snappy with us and did not make the experience super great. The wines we had were ok. With all the great options in the area, I wouldn’t recommend this one.
This is a very nice small winery, at least for trucks making deliveries. They have tram services available, the grounds are quite scenic and hilly.
If you only do one tour. This is the one to do.
San Francisco and wines are synonyms and Benziger wine yard is different from others in the context of quality and consumer care.. true every bottle according to the producer is biodynamic..an advanced version of organic product...well organised...professional and guest caring... meet Patrick H. Scheiblich the narrator...Grace Sviten the bar woman who feed wine after wine to train your palate... freat experince..
Simply fantastic experience. We took the upgraded tour option and loved it. Really amazing ecologically friendly operation. Their Tribute wine is seriously wonderful!
I was a part of a group of 5 also with a 5 month old came in right as they were opening for tastings. Tommy was our pourer for our tasting and was passionate and knowledgeable on the wines and the company. He was patient with us when the baby distracted us and still was able to hit the sales points necessary to sell us on becoming club members. I signed up because the product is excellent and reasonably priced.
Great little family owned winery
Who you get is important. Our wine expert was young and green, but very friendly. Having gone to one that was more experienced, it was a glaring difference. We came to this winery as suggested by our hotel who told us there was a buy 1 get another complimentary tasting. It was only offered on the cheaper of the 2 tastings. We are unsure if that affected our tasting. Maybe I have expensive tastes, but I was not impressed by the wines on that as tried. We left without purchasing. The tasting itself was pretty standard.
Nice wines and tastings. Great selections.
Excellent wines made biodynamically.
Great winery! This was our first time to “wine country “ and this was our first stop. They did a wonderful job at explaining how wine is made and developed. The best part is that they take you out on a tractor ride to sip a glass of wine in the vineyard. ❤️
Excellent experience. Beautiful place ???? Jennifer was awesome, good wine tasting and interesting orientation. Loved it
Amazing. A great example of great wine made ethically & through the use of biodynamics.
Great wines. This winery is known for his red but have an excellent Chardonnay. All organic or bio dynamic. Staff always very friendly. EV car charger on the parking lot (for free).
This was our first winery visit on our first visit to Sonoma and we were very pleased with the friendliness and knowledgeability of the staff here. They took the time to explain the wines and since we joined the wine club the tasting a and tours were complimentary. Highly recommend you stop here!
Picturesque, family-owned winery with great tasting wines and a good tour of the winery. I liked their Cabernet Sauvignon and Port.
Loved my visit to Benziger! As a passionate environmentalist, I loved learning about biodynamics. Hopping on the tram for a tour was a wonderful way to learn about the land and their farming practices. And their wines were wonderful. Such a hospitable and knowledgeable bunch of people running this vineyard. It was the highlight of my holiday and a must visit.
Excellent, very informative tour about their biodynamic farming. Gorgeous territory! The tasting after the tour was a bit rushed.
Beautiful property, great wine, wonderful service
Lovely location, excellent wines, nice staff..
Best winery in Sonoma County! Cabernet Saviougn, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, & Saviougn Blanc are their specialties but their big reds are my favorite! Be sure to go on the tractor tour to learn about the wine-making process, it's well worth it! Every time I go here I usually see one of the Benziger family members, which is awesome to see such passion & loyalty for the business. Benziger is way more relaxed & a much more phenomenal experience than most wineries in both Sonoma & Napa!
Yikes. Uber driver said to avoid the non-reserve wines at all costs. Uber driver was wise.
Tram tour was very informative and interesting - it helped having a passionate tour guide! Highly recommend for anyone new to the wine-making and grape-growing process. The only downside of the tour was the saddening size of the sips offered for each of the wines included (5 total). Save the skimpy portions, definitely a recommended stop while visiting California! ????????
Love Benziger! We have been members for 8 years! Their Biodynamic Organic wines are absolutely delicious. We celebrated our 27th anniversary May 2021 by reserving a private spot near the Vineyards all organized by the wonderful Kira????????. She really made the private experience a 10 out of 10. She had everything set up for us nicely and kept checking on us. I could not have asked for better! We really appreciated her professionalism and kindness. We definitely recommend this winery %100.
Great wine tour. Very educational
Wine tour was not crowded. Pretty good going placed in a small cart pulled by tractor.
Jennifer and Brad were not very friendly. We did not have a great tasting experience. The wine was good in spite of the welcome we received.
The lady pouring the wine for the tasting, I believe her name was Kat, was rude and had a terrible attitude. Maybe she was having a bad day but if not maybe she should think about doing something else for a living.
My family loved the tour. It was very interesting to learn about their methods. The wines were great too! Beautiful views.
Great place to stop. Did the tour and worth every penny! The wine is FABULOUS and beautiful location.
Beautiful winery, great tour guide!
Mediocre experience. I arrived at opening time only to be turned away for a glass in the seated tasting area. I was directed to check in at a booth because I didn't have a reservation. A very nice lady informed me that I don't need a reservation and that I was welcome to enjoy a glass or a full tasting. I decided on a glass from the tasting room. Patrick was friendly and patient. I took my glass back up to the inviting outdoor area with sunshine. I have been enjoying my glass of pinot noir for about 30 minutes. The young man in shorts and baseball cap hasn't come over once. Not even to offer me an umbrella. The music is not exiting and none of the umbrellas are up even though it's 82 degrees. The pinot is good. For a 16$ glass, I would have hoped for a nicer experience.
Beautiful estate, when a bit massive. Very friendly and knowledgable people. Good wines, but certainly not living up to their prices. But may be I should not compare with France, Switzerland or Austria?
I am underage so I cannot drink. However the tour was very interesting and the location was very nice. The staff was kind and even let me bring my dog into the store. It was only a chihuahua but still, very kind.
Amazing wine, and the tour of the biodynamic property is worth the time and money twice over.
Really Great wines and gorgeous site
Great grounds. Great wine.
Excellent tour and wine! I highly recommend the Partners Tour, it's double the price but so worth it. You get a much longer behind the scenes view of the winery and included are a lot more tastings of their fabulous, high end estate wines. Joanne was our tour guide and she was fabulous! Learning about the biodynamic way they farm was a great experience.
What can I say about this place. It is fantastic. It is family friendly. We took the tram tour which does include a tasting. Benziger is one of the few biodynamic winerys in the US. Biodynamic wines are sustainable and use the earth to grow as opposed to fertilizer and pesticides. They use plants to attract good insects instead of pesticides. All water waste is recycled back into the ecosystem. Theybise caves to keep the wine cool instead of refrigeration.
BEST winery tour in Sonoma. Our tour guide was so funny and informative. I highly suggest the full tour and tasting. Worth every penny.
Very friendly staff and informative tour
My husband and I popped in unannounced in looks to just purchase a couple bottles before leaving the Sonoma area. We realized it was closed to the public, but ran into Jill who kindly asked if we needed anything and who then graciously brought us inside to taste a few wines before purchasing bottles. Thank you Jill for your kindness and welcoming us to come in even though you were closed. We’ll be back on the next trip!!! Maybe will plan to make a reservation ahead of time though. LOL.
Great guide and very funny. Like a lot the wines and the "domaine". The only thing I did not like was the price of the wine. Too expensive in comparison with Spanish, Portuguese, French or even Italian wines. I did not buy any...a pity!
Friendly people and good quick tour. Mike was great. Excellent boutique winery.
Lovely, family run winery set in pleasant grounds. We dropped in for a tasting without a reservation. The lady serving us was super nice and we enjoyed the wines so much we ended up buying a few bottles. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Excellent experience with the Tribute tour led by Lijiah. Highly recommend.
An amazing tour of the vineyard, Mike (our guide) was awesome. A beautiful winery to visit and finish with a tasting. Very cool story about the Benzinger family and operation as well.
Such amazing wines and kind friendly people
Great tram tour of the vineyard and enjoyed the wine tasting. Staff was very friendly
Highly recommended! Beautiful grounds where the staff is carrying for the bus, sheep and grapes! Fully biodynamic winery and vineyard. The tour of the grounds and facility were very informative. The wine and servers in the tasting room were wonderful!
Megan made our last wine tasting experience in Sonoma memorable and absolutely amazing! She's very knowledgeable about the wines, was able to answer all of our questions, and most importantly was super friendly and engaging throughout our tasting experience. The quality of the wines we tasted was just the cherry on top! We couldn't have picked a better place to end my wine country birthday vacation! Thanks again, Megan! Hope to see you again soon! -Carolina and Kelvin
I was at this winery a month ago and had a wonderful experience. Not only is the winery really beautiful, but the staff was very caring and helpful. We were three little old ladies and the staff took such great care as one of us was handicapped. I cannot say enough accolades for the staff that helped us here and we had such a wonderful day. Carolyn Granados
Great biodynamic winery. A true must-visit in Sonoma valley.
After complaining about their wine club and the poor customer service, I received another email that apologized for the mix up with my wine club order. She refunded my money and apologized for the error. I appreciated the fact that she got back to me and tried to "right a wrong". Love the Benziger red wine (all of them) and am glad that I can now enjoy them again.
Very beautiful Winery
One of the best wineries I have ever been to. Was given a great tour by Gregg where we drove around the vineyard and tasted at multiple stops on the way. Wine was incredible and tour was well worth the money. Highly recommend making a stop here when touring around Sonoma.
Great experience in a beautiful setting. Dog friendly!
Amazing biodynamic wines and amazing service!
Very nice winery with great friendly staff and $20 tastings.
Great place to visit and take tour
Learned a lot about biodynamic wineries! Great staff and great wine...would definitely visit again!
Fantastic biodynamic winery in Sonoma. We did the tram tour and learned all about their process to let nature and the land help them grow wine.
David does an extraordinary tour of the vineyard. Very nice property and people.
This place is the big time. Truly professional facility, and grounds with exquisite wine bar. Our sommelier was fun and knowledgable.
The hosts treated us really well and accomodated us with a complementary cheese tasting along with our wine tasting. They were also flexible and allowed us to do the wine tasting and then take the tour. The wine was exquisite, both the white, red, and desert. The hosts were also very straight-forward about pricing. They weren't pushy either. One minor complaint is that they require you to fill out a form with your contact information.
Great wines, friendly people. ????
Lots of things to see and hear if you take the tour. Gets pretty pricey fast if not carefull. The wine is way too expensive to me!! Easy parking. If you don't pay for tour there is not really much to do - you will be over in 30 min max. 3 stars too little, 4 too much!
Just love it!
Tour guide was well informed. Wines were very good. The staff and atmosphere were very pleasant.
I received notice of a UPS delivery for which I never authorized nor did I authorize your company charge my credit card. I asked that this membership be cancelled months ago when I called in you now want to charge me shipping because the item(s) need to go back. No that's unacceptable. I didn't order this nor authorize you to charge my card. I shouldn't be charged anything and offered an apology. I will take this up with my credit card company.
What an amazing winery! We go here every time we are in San Fran. Spend the extra money for the tour on the golf cart...it's well worth it.
Our tour of the winery was great and we had bottles shipped to us that came quickly and in excellent condition!
Would not Recommend. Horrible experience. Visiting friend who recently moved to Sonoma community -she had tastings scheduled at both Benzinger and sister winery Imagery. Benzinger first - arrived on Friday. 3 parties only and about 5 folks working. Sat at dirty table - no water - descriptions scribbled over. Server pleasant. Had to get up 3xs to ask for anything. They just sat under big tree bar talking to each other. Wasn’t even busy.... just didn’t care. Next was Imagery. Sat in hot sun - server was very nice and attentive - but had to wait what seemed like an excessive amount of time between servings.... had to get up and go inside or sit under a tree waiting for the next pour. At the end... and this is the best part... my friend did sign up for a wine club membership. Her card was on file for both wineries. I asked our server - to please let me pay for the cheese sampler box. Got home and realized they had charged my card for everything. Called next day - they said they would reverse. Monday they charged my card again another $160. I called again Monday & Tuesday - was told a manager would get back to me. It is now Wednesday and returning home from my vacation. Never bothered to return my call. My host is embarrassed and I’m out $400. Just bad customer service all around.
Excellent in every respect. Even the sales pitch at the end of the first class tour wasn’t too bad. We will go back. They are to be commended for their environmental conscientiousness.
Great biodynamic winery. A true must-visit in Sonoma valley.
The location ambiance are magnificent. Take a tour and you will get a glimpse of what it takes to make great tasting wines.
It's a bit of a trek to get there but worth the effort. We started our visit with a tour of the estate and an overview of how they do what they do. Thanks to David for his humour and information. After that we had a tasting of some of the delicious wines and a rest in one of the several spots available to just sit and take in the quiet. So nice.
Beautiful and good place. The tour is nice. The wine is excelent!
Beautiful grounds, but light pours compared to others and a little awkwardness with our server. The friend that took me seemed a bit embarrassed upon leaving. Not sure we'll be returning
Great tours! Good wine.
Excellent wine combined with outstanding service and scenery
Great experience. Like it wasn’t ever sold.
I came here for Earth Day and it was one of the most memorable winery experiences I have ever had. The day began with meeting the people who make the winery happen, learning about the winery, hands-on lab to learn about the soils, and an abbreviated wine tasting. I highly recommend these special events if you can get invited to them!
Very nice, casual outdoor tasting at family winery. Don't wear anything that might snag on rustic picnic benches and outdoor seating. Interesting historical markers about the winery and the area.
This was on my list because it's a biodynamic winery. Luckily, we checked into our hotel (Olea) and they gave us a winery passport and this winery was in it offering free tastings for 2. We walked in after 4pm and he place was mostly empty, maybe 1-2 other couples in there. The tasting room was large and very nice looking. A man greeted us from the bar so we walked over to him for out tastings. It was kind of an awkward tasting with him hovering around us while we commented to each other. He was very informative about the wine and processes. There were 7 wines on the menu and we tried them all. Pours were smaller than other wineries, maybe 3-4 sips but that's fine for me since I only take 2-3 and didn't really like any of them. My bf enjoyed one of their reds and the desert wine of their sister winery (Imagery). A bit disappointed in the wine but liked learning about their winery.
Absolutely a unique experience. Gorgeous vineyard, with well appointed facilities for groups or individuals.
The tour is wonderful!
Very pretty property and interesting tours. Wines are ok but there are much better in the area.
Benziger was our 1st stop on a day out in Wine Country yesterday and definitely the best stop for the day. We reached just in time for the 11:30 tram tour. The tram tour lasted about 50 mins and the experience of drinking Cab under the trees was awesome. I liked the tour , it was good and interesting information without making it overwhelming. We checked out the stomping area as well as the cave which was super cool (literally as well). In the tasting room , we had the pinot which I loved, and also their tribute and another wine with O. We also tried the truffle hot sauce in the store area which was delicious. Great place to have a picnic (I am not sure if they let you bring outside food) but you can def buy some cheese and crackers here. The wine prices were at par with the taste ranging between $25-$80 . Tram was $30 pp which includes tasting. Tasting only was $20.
Very good wine, tram tour, servers and prices.
Great new winery find for us. They had perfect out door seating in the courtyard of their main building. Candace was wonderful with her descriptions of the qualities of the wine, the regions the grapes came from and possible food pairing. It's a new "must do" for us.
This place is so scenic with exceptional staff, family friendly and don't get me started about the wine!!!! If you get a tour by David and a tasting by "Mitchell" (the enjoyable gentleman from South America), you are in the best hands. It was such an enchanting experience. Not to mention, it's a little ecosystem within their 80 acres, a dream. We are definitely coming back every time.
Great wine tour! Really surprised by their natural techniques to produce wine, certainly pays off! We specially loved the Sauvignon Blanc.
Best winery in Sonoma County! Cabernet Saviougn, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, & Saviougn Blanc are their specialties but their big reds are my favorite! Be sure to go on the tractor tour to learn about the wine-making process, it's well worth …
Beautiful, educatonal, good wine .will come again
Beautiful location.. Love the fact that they are biodynamic AND the wine tastes amazing. Great service!
Join the wine club! Then you also get member's priviledges at Imagery Winery. And biodynamic wines - yum
Great tram tour of the vineyard and enjoyed the wine tasting. Staff was very friendly
Very interesting and fun tour
Absolutely wonderful. Our tour guide a John was so personable, and knowledgeable. He made the tour not only fun but informative. The tour was super wonderful and the grounds at benziger are gorgeous. I highly recommend the tribute private tour in the golf cart and also the sunny slope Cabernet. Delightful estate
Good tour
Went on a tour with Dave, best wine tour I've ever been to. The place was beautiful and Dave's explanations were very interesting!
We went to this vineyard in 201 or so and brought this home. Today it is excellent. Yay
Your wines are lovely, and most of all... your wines are married to the organic integrity, leaving one to embrace the recompense of that integrity. Respectfully, Maria Wesenberg, of Sarasota, florida.
Big dry red wines. A must visit!
One of the coolest tours I've ever had the pleasure of listening and seeing. Awesome view, and very friendly service.
Beautiful vineyard, excellent tour and amazing wines. We were there during Harvest Season or Crush when they're harvesting and preparing the grapes for the juicing process. Fun, Educational and Very Tasty!
Great biodynamic wine and a super accommodating staff. Make sure to tour the garden!
Beautiful winery with fantastic wines! We arrived pretty late (3:30 pm) so we just tasted and browsed the fun gift shop. When I go back I hope to do a tour of the vineyard on one of their tractors, but for our visit we soaked up the sun outside and took pictures amongst the hills in between tastings and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. I really love this family of wineries, they make you feel welcome and at ease.
Thank you David P . Great tour of beautiful property
Great place for a tour of a Sonoma winery and good wine too.
Good but not amazing wines. A little pricey for what they are from an European perspective. We’re there for an event. The food was really good. Overall a very good experience an a very friendly athmosphere like being guest at big family.
We did the 45-minute long "biodynamic tram tour" and had a great time learning about the vineyards and winery. They clearly have put a lot of effort into their patch of land and have done a good job marketing it, too. Everything is immaculately clean and orderly. The tour guide was humorous and helpful. I'm not a wine drinker so I can't judge the quality but we definitely felt it was worth our time and money to visit.
Beautiful, educatonal, good wine .will come again
The tour and description of biodynamics is worth it.
I am have been charged wine I didn’t order, had delivery receipts left on my door while I was out of town, and received no response to multiple emails and calls. What was a decent enough wine and experience is tarnished by this inept service.
We took the Tribute Tour and it was wonderful!
Love the experience
