Artesa is one of our favorite wineries! The Spanish style wines are different and delicious and there's no better view in the area. Our guide, Maria, is a laong-time staff member who clearly knows the wines. You can find different varietals than other places in Sonoma or Napa, so it's a unique experience.
Amazing view, great people.
Always an amazing experience! Great wine, great views, great service!
Great winery, great staff, we had a blast! Freddy was terrific!
Vinery is OK. It’s Super commercial - nobody cares about you - nobody tells anything of the wines or even changes the glasses between tasting. They have beautiful views on the valley, nice selection of vines. The basic tasting of 5 wines is 35$, more luxury is 55$ and up. We were feeling like we are in macdonalds, they just need your 35$ for few drips of wine
Wonderful winery! Beautifully vineyards same excellent service. They're unable to ship to Indian though as a note.
First winery I ever visited. Beautiful views and delicious wines to match.
Freddie was fantastic and the wine was as good as it gets!
Amazing view, terrific wine in the reserve menu, worth the extra $5. Saw some folks bring their own stacks which is smart.
Beautiful place!
Amazing view and great wine. Go Vikes!!!!
Beautiful location and nice tasting room. The whites are fabulous. Friendly staff.
Good selection of whines and great views.. This place it's lively, rich and pleasant on a sunny day..
Beautiful wines and attentive and educated staff.
Go early before the crowds show and enjoy the vines!
Absolutely spectacular.
Extraordinary in every sense of the word.
Meritage was my favorite!
Nice outdoor wine tasting
EDIT: I went here last Saturday and this was a total joke. Insanely crowded and noisy with a populace that does not even know what is wine testing. We picked up our wine and will cancel our subscription as the experience is so bad now. BTW asking $80 for a 2013 basic wine is mind blowing. The owners of that vineyard should go back to reality. Really. Dropping one star and now giving just one. === Very noisy place. How can you do wine tasting in that big room which is sooooo noisy. This is unbelievable. The entrance is quite nice on the outside with an interesting view but the noise inside ruined everything. It is time for the owner to understand the art of wine tasting... You can pass.
This place was fantastic! The view from the vineyard is breathtaking, the wines were delightful and best of all, the staff. Charming, friendly and really professional. I would recommend Artesa to anyone looking for a great overall experience. Greetings from Montreal xx
Great views, great wine and great staff! Must go visit!
According to the staff works here, visitors are not welcome Friday and Saturday. So don't even bother coming to this winery during weekend and wasting your precious time.
Horrible customer service and subpar wines. Had a very negative experience with a rude and nasty hostess
Absolutely amazing view and very knowledgeable soqmonier
No very friendly employees
This location is absolutely stunning and the grounds are very nicely kept. It reminds you of a beautiful museum style setting! Breathtaking! However, the quality we expected for classic wines was disappointing! The wines were very rough around the edges ... reminded us of Spanish table wines! The front desk person was not focused and very welcoming! We were made to taste the wine in the gift shop and were not allowed in the bar/tasting area since it is by reservation only. We felt a bit rushed too. The place was not even busy. I hope the owners change this in the future! To recap: beautiful setting with middle of the road wines!
I joined some wine club members to a tasting at Artesa and was impressed with the entire experience. I've always loved the architecture of the building which is "of a hill, not on a hill" and blends with the landscape. Best views in Napa. The tasting room has a sleek international look with a Spanish flare and bright spacious interior. A very diverse selection of wines and we were able to select from a broad list. Quality was consistent across the portfolio and prices were not bad by Napa standards. Stylistically the wines go for a broad audience and almost anyone can find one they like. I found the wines with less oak to be honest and intriguing but there are plenty of rich reds for the wealthy drinker.
They were reluctant to attend our party arguing that we were too many people, we were 8 persons and there was plenty of space so no reason for the bad service, we insisted and said we were willing to split our group in 2 groups of 4 and they said that this would come with a 20% charge which is completely nonsense and rude. Don’t come here, there are better places to spend your time at.
Sarah was absolutely amazing. Members for 7 years and this was a top experience!
Amazing great place for wine testing the service was amazing and theirs wine were super delicious and very tasty we also buy some bottles for us definitely go back there
(Translated) I recommend it, you have an excellent time and the wines are divine. (Original) Lo recomiendo, se pasa un rato excelente y los vinos son divinos.
Amazing location, views, and wine speaks for itself… unfortunately their service is ruinous. …
Beautiful grounds, $35 tastings, no deals
Go here if you want the best view from a winery in Napa.
(Translated) Bad experience. They treated us very badly and showed no interest in providing good service. (Original) Mala experiencia. Nos atendieron muy mal y no mostraron el mínimo interés por dar un buen servicio.
Love the views and the wine delicious
Staff was very unwelcoming and unprofessional. Did not experience this at any other winery in the valley.
The views were great especially on the terrace. The architecture is very bunker on the outside but in a good way. Very nice and bright on the inside. Unfortunately the service was non attentive, the server was not new at this but was overwhelmed. Management: give her some help. Wine was not our preference but others seem to enjoy.
If you're looking for a fancy modern artsy winery experience with a breath taking view including water fountains and statues Artesa is a great choice. We had the ???? + ???? pairing. Freddy was super friendly and knowledgeable and took great care of us. Definitely will come back!
So great. Super service and helpful.
an architect's delight while savoring the fine selection of vino
Very nice and contemporary ambient, wines are perfectly value for money. I like most is the very friendly and knowledgeable associates. Good lecture on California wines
(Translated) Very nice location, nice service. Good wines, recommend trying wine tasting with tapas on the terrace. (Original) Meget fin plassering, hyggelig betjening. Gode viner, anbefaler å prøve vinsmaking med tapasfat på terrassen.
Their employee Andrew, very intelligent & very knowledgeable about the wines! Such a great host, made the experience 10× better! Definitely a must go to, their wine tasting and cheese platter are on point & the views are great!
What a winery! Our second choice as we passed through. Great grounds, incredibly beautiful with fantastic views as you get to the tasting room! Great tasting choices also, Tempranillo and meritage were my favorites, good service and great grounds.
Spectacular architecture, very serene and charming.... the winery has such pleasant vibes the moment you put your foot there . Parking was ample , loved the elevated architecture with mature landscaping, vineyards were stunning , fountains and monuments were eye catching.... they have a very welcoming staff which attended us immediately and asked us our preference of sitting outside overlooking their vineyard or in their courtyard. We chose to sit outside and those 2 hours just flew by with those breathtaking views . Our server , Andrew was very smart , knowledgeable and funny , we loved him. Their gift shop is awesome, we ended up buying decanters and carafe ,Reasonably priced. Washrooms were very clean . They cheese board was good too . Wines were okay but our overall experience right from writing the email for the reservation , Karla had replied back , very promptly. We would certainly go back there to enjoy their hillside breathtaking views ????
Outstanding views and service! Alvaro provided us great insight and knowledge of Artesa's history and techniques. Beautiful grounds make for a picture perfect day of wine drinking!
First time at Artesa and was in awe of the views and wine. Ryan was wonderfully knowledgeable and really made our tasting experience. We lived the wine so much, especially the rosé, we walked out the door with a few bottles. Would certainly visit again!
Great experience!!
If your preference for sparkling and pinots is on the dry side this is your spot that you must try. View was very nice overlooking the carneros hills. It was not a hit for us, our taste is more so on the rich and bold met side than these wines are. Service seemed to be inconsistent, we have now become accustomed to see what other tables get when they arrive and are offered. We were not offered a couple of things or even told if the tapas were available, would we have been informed we probably would have ordered since we were starving when we left there. Over all this property was just a photo op for us, which is too bad since we had been looking forward to coming here for a while.
Love, love, love the wine and the views!!!
Wish service was a little.more personable.
We were passing by and looking forward to a brief stop for a glass of wine on their terrace with an amazing view. Unfortunately just to walk out there each of you have to purchase one of their full tastings... I definitely recommend it you're looking to spend some time and do a tasting, but for a quick stop $120 to stand on a balcony was a little much!
Excellent
Amazing!!! Maria is the best! ????
Five stars because this was the most beautiful vineyard we visited in Napa. On the way up the long, windy hill to reach Artesa's entrance, our driver informed us that they spent something like $11m on landscaping. I can totally believe this because it the entire property was breath taking. I could have spent all day laying on a blanket of their lawn just taking in the fresh air and admiring the surroundings. We opted to do the wine tasting and were pleasantly surprised when our wine-tender (I might be making up words here) informed us that we could buy bottles of wine instead of paying for the tasting. What a deal! I brought home a nice bottle of wine that lasted probably a week until we gave in and drank it. The service was top notch, the wine was good and the views were outstanding. While there are hundreds of vineyards I would like to visit in my life time, this is probably the only one I'd come back to repetitively each time I visit Napa.
Very cool winery built into the side of a hill. The view from the top is exceptional. The tasting room wasn't very intimate and although the staff were friendly it wasn't nearly as comfortable as other wineries. I liked that they had some interesting Grenache and Tempranillo varietals but none of the wines suited my palate. I'm glad I went for the view but I didn't leave with any of their wine.
Come to Artesa for the views and the architecture, those are unsurpassed...but the wine, there is better on offer elsewhere in the valley. We very much enjoyed our afternoon on the terrace, but that was more due to our interest in the totally unique design of the property. I should note that my view is colored because our host was a little overtasked; he was looking after more tasting tables than time allowed, so he was rushed when introducing our next wine, but then took forever to appear with the next one.
Cool spot that almost looked like an airport lounge with a fantastic view, in between the hills separated but a infinity pool. On a beautiful today, I'm sure the reelection of the sky in the water would be really pretty. Wide selection to try starting with sparkling down to reds. We needed to rush the end because they didn't have enough staff and we needed to go. The server had to run around to cover the whole table, honestly felt so bad for him. Then we ended up having to chug the last red . This was the most comfortable seating out of all of them with really pretty architecture and decor. If you wanted to buy some art, they have a little gallery as well Just don't expect to learn a lot about the wines

Beautiful winery! The wine was also incredibly delicious! The best part of our experience was Diego! He was so knowledgeable, hospitable, and friendly! We love Diego!!
Wine is pretty good, horrible services and we're members.
Sat atop a hill, the Artesa grounds are a sight to behold. Though, the wines weren't particularly standout. If you're in the area, the picture spots and scenery at Artesa is worth the trip. It's located a the top of a hill with amazing 360 views of the Carneros. The north end in particular is a great for a group shot and panorama. Fountains and art pieces are sprinkled throughout that add even more to the outside. Though the audio of singing monks in the cellar was interesting, the tour wasn't standout. It was slightly slow with a quiet tour guide. Come on guys, make it exciting! Finally, at its conclusion we were dying for wine, but the tasting portions were pretty meager. Having tried the traditional flight, the whites were stronger. Even so, with so many excellent options to compare it to in Napa, these were closer to middle tier.
We made wine tasting reservations at this winery for our anniversary October 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we opted for their outdoor seating on the front lawn with a magnificent view of the rolling hills and vineyards. The weather was nice, sunny with a light breeze, there were 3, wine menus with 5 wines. We enjoyed our experience here and would visit again in the future.
Great atmosphere. Great view. Great staff.
Absolutely gorgeous! We almost always stop in when we visit Napa. One of the most scenic spots around it is a place that you need to visit. The wines are tasty and help to complete the experience. We also got a cheese plate (they altered a charcuterie plate since we don’t eat meat) which was a bit pricy at $30. We ended up taking home two bottles of wine. Overall an amazing experience on a gorgeous day!
This is the place you bring your out of town friends who want to be dazzled by Napa. The view is gorgeous, the blue water fountains in the entrance photograph really well, and the inside is very mod. Make sure you look for Juan, he ensured our experience was memorable and was also super funny. To be honest with the elaborate entrance of Artesa, I kind of expected to be more wowed from what I saw inside, but really you go for the entrance and the view. The inside is not that special, and you kind of feel like you are in a hotel lobby where you can buy wine totes while you taste your wine. So make sure you sit outside, instagram yourself tons, and say hi to Juan.
Great location but having visited other wineries in Napa Valley, would strongly recommend against Artesa if you really want to understand the wine growing and production process. They do a poor job of the tour and tasting experience itself.
Highly recommend this winery. Amazing architecture & views, heavy pours of wine, and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. From the moment we walked in, to when we left, we had the biggest smiles on our face. Very impressive experience. I do recommend making an appointment in advance, to avoid any wait times.
The worst service (Drake). Great wine & views.
Awesome place for wine tour and tasting. Beautifully designed and the tour guide is really knowledgeable. Must do in Napa.
We had an amazing tasting here, the Single vineyard tasting. The server, was so much fun and pretty generous with the pours :) and the space is incredibly beautiful. The views over the valley, the artwork, the pools and fountains... Amazing!
View from up here is gorgeous, Napa at its best
Beautiful facility sitting on top of a hill. Wasn't a huge fan of the wines but def worth going once.
It is the worst service that I ever had received in my life.
The view is gorgeous, but the wine….
Fantastic estate with good wines, breathtaking views and good service
Great view. Beautiful inside. A more commercial vibe. Worth a visit for the view.
VERY disappointed with this winery / tasting experience. We scheduled one day of our Napa Valley vacation around this tasting experience and were completely disregarded/disrespected upon arriving on time for our appointment. The hostess left us waiting for 20 minutes past our appointment time. When we approached her to inquire about the delay, she rudely suggested we “perhaps reschedule for another day”. Absolutely unbelievable in an area where we have received impeccable customer service and extraordinary attention at multiple wineries. The tasting experience in addition to the quality of the wine always determines the wineries we support, so this was a definite “No” for us. I highly recommend avoiding this winery at all cost to save yourself undue frustration. They have zero appreciation for your time. Artesa was the only disappointment on our most recent Napa Valley vacation - but disappointing enough to warrant a 1 star review. Beware.
Beautiful view. I recommend the tasting with cheese. We bought a bottle of Malbec which was fantastic. It wasn't a part of the tasting. Maria did a great job as the server/hostess.
One of the best places to taste in the valley. The view is amazing. The wines are wonderful. It does occasionally experience large crowds. But chillax grab your wine and walk around and enjoy the view!
Looks like a hidden bunker, but has gorgeous views, friendly staff, great wines. Highly recommend one of the wine tasting tours.
Must see Napa location. Beautiful back roads lead to this artistic winery with amazing views.
Lovely property and awesome outdoor wine tasting on top of the hill. Great view!
Exceptional property. Exceptional wines. Legendary Carneros.
Incredible scenery
Unfortunately my best friend and I didn’t have a great experience as many of the other visitors have. (7/13/19 at 3pm) After driving about 45 minutes to this winery with no reservation we were placed on a waiting list for a wine tasting (which was fine). While waiting to be called via cell phone, we waited outside near the poolside where the receptionist told us we could wait. 15-20 minutes later I received a phone call in which I didn’t answer but walked straight to the reception desk just to be told that she had given away our spots. What?! With much disappointment I then ask to purchase a meat and cheese platter so that my best friend and I could eat by the pool(by the way my friend is 5 months pregnant and showing), the receptionist then tells us VIP members are only allowed to eat at the poolside. What?! This is the same poolside that she allowed us to wait at. With much frustration from driving 45 minutes to be told within one minute of a phone call that our spot had been given away to not being allowed to eat near the poolside my friend and I left and will never return or refer anyone here.
Beautiful views but terrible service. We checked in and were told a 40 min wait. We ended up waiting twice as long and were never called back. We had asked if we could just make reservations for the following day because we were staying local for the weekend. Instead she told us we couldn't make reservations online less that 24 hours ahead of time so we decided to wait. She lied and later found out we could have made reservations on the phone. It was very obvious we were being treated differently. The lady stuttered the more questions we asked. Would never reccomend this place based on the service I was given to just check in.
Beautiful landscape and delicious wine. The service was really slow though. We enjoyed a cheese plate which was great.
Just business, nothing more. Pricy, no atmosphere, no one even explains us what we are drinking. Not worth even hall of the price. Don’t go.
We love this wine. A modern building and experience with a history lesson about champagne........enjoy the view
The grounds are beautiful, but it can be hard to get a good wine tasting experience with all of the wine tour crowds.
Wonderful experience! Keegan & Maria we're fantastic and helped us enjoy exactly the experience we were after. Their tempranillo is outstanding!
The fine arts are beautiful and the vineyard good scinery
Great place in Napa where you don't need reservations! Delicious wines. Would have rated it 5 stars but there were a lot of kids running around the last time I was there, perhaps due to the holiday weekend.
Amazing!!!
Beautiful winery! Sits right on top overlooking Napa, its incredible! Great wine tasting, we tried the signature and the guy was very detailed about each one and they were great to taste! Would definitely go again!
The wines you get in the standard tasting are nothing special, but our host gave us a pour of a cab sav that was one of the best wines we had on our trip. This place is one of the first you come to in the Napa Valley and it's worth the stop just for the views. We also had a delicious cheese board. Overall, a great experience.
Wonderful, beautiful and well planned out winery.
Beautiful winery with breath taking views of the Napa Valley. Their location is unique and the design off be building gives it a sense of privacy and seclusion. You can’t even tell it’s a building until you go up the grand stairs, so cool! There are beautiful fountains and several places to take stunning photos. Their wine options are diverse and the cheese platter we got to go alone with the wines was delicious. The staff is very attentive and take the time to explain every wine and the type of cheese it should be paired with. Some parts of the building are being remodeled, so I’m looking forward to returning later this year to see the finish product.
From the moment we stepped out of the car, the views were amazing. The architecture was exquisite. The wine was bold and full of flavor. Definitely a must see.
Everything here is great.
Nice place. Good wine.
Great location away from everyone, but worth the drive
Artesa is a beautifully designed winery, perched on a hill in Napa. The views from the entrance are worthy of a thousand photos. I'm not able to comment on the wine itself (not a wine drinker), however this place was full with people who looked rather happy.
Picturesque
Customer service was disappointing, I went in with a 8 party and the staff told us that we were a lot, we were even looking to buy wine bottles but we didn’t like the service at all.
A friend and I were at Artesa a couple weeks ago. It was a GREAT experience, from start to finish. Everyone was kind. Alvaro was our host, and he was wonderful. He went into great detail about each wine, telling us what foods it should be paired with, and he was quite entertaining. The facility is beautiful inside and out, from the architecture to the views. I don't know how someone could negatively review this place. Research the options online before going, make a reservation, and plan. You pay for what you get, and Artesa surpassed my expectations for the money paid. We even became club members and got a discount on our bill! Artesa made our Saturday one of the best EVER. Thank you!
Jesse was Awesome. Great visit today
Annoying front desk lady, cool views, large line ups.
Love Artesa. Been a club member there for 18 years. Right now the Carneros Chard is tasting amazing. It's a 2015 and its just got great characteristics and flavor. Yum, and the views can't be beat on a clear day. The staff is outstanding the building is unique- built into the side of a mountain. It's an E ticket ride in Napa.
Never heard of this wine. Very pretentious. Said on the phone you don’t need a reservation - in reality you do, but not worth it. Next.
Gorgeous view, nice atmosphere, staff was knowledgeable and enhanced the experience. Wines were smooth, especially the sparkling. The wine tour was interesting if you don't know anything about the wine making process, we enjoyed it but it was high level and probably wouldn't be as interesting for those who are already familiar.
Wines are good, but the views and scenery are spectacular. Go sit out on the terrace and relax!
Nice views and quite a few wines to try
Come to Artesa for the views and the architecture, those are unsurpassed...but the wine, there is better on offer elsewhere in the valley. We very much enjoyed our afternoon on the terrace, but that was more due to our interest in the …
So I'm a Napa local. I used to take groups of friends here all the time because of the amazing view from the balcony. Recently I went, and I was told that in order to enjoy the view, I and every one of my friends would have to pay $45 for a wine tasting. By being greedy, you have lost my business, and that of the many groups I used to take here.
This place is where you take guests if they want the best Napa experience. Artesa is a quick hour drive from San Francisco, but because of the quick drive and the beautiful scenery, this place can get crowded. Get there right at 10am when they open, and you could have the whole place to yourselves.
Awesome location on a clear day.
Artesa is a beautiful winery on a hill , with gorgeous views all around. The winery is very nice inside as well, we had a tasting at the bar. Andrew took excellent care of us even though very busy. He gets a 5 for sure. The wines were all good, and at least for our palates ranged from good to very good. We really enjoyed the diverse wines they had, we tried several Chardonnays (Old Wente was our favorite) as well as a few Pinots, Merlot and Cabs. This was a very enjoyable tasting and would recommend them if you are in the south end of the valley
Awesome experience. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. Highly recommended to make this one of your winery choices to visit.
A Local suggested we attend....best advice ever!! We came in the ADA entrance by accident and felt lost, as it was away from front main entrance. We were immediately greeted by Scott and asked if we were familiar with the winery. He proceeded to tell us of the history of the winery, showed us around and treated us very well. Informed us of the various tasting options and suggested his favorite tasting. We chose it. The reserves tasting with 5 different wines from their vineyard or others close by they work with. Scott was incredible, sharing the history of each wine and the area the grapes were grown for each. We have been to many vineyards and done tours and tastings, but the care and time he took to show a couple of Texans on our 22nd anniversary was top notch. The wine was incredible and the scenery....oh my, it was awesome! Thank you Artesa and especially Scott! We WILL be back and suggest anyone considering a winery tour to put this at the top of your to visit list!! Weekday tours are best to avoid the crowd, or get a reservation if planning a weekend visit.
Very beautiful winery, we freauent napa/sonoma/russian river areas pretty often as we don't live very far away. Definitely one of the more acerbic and modern locations, tucked back so you have to be looming for it to find it, unless you're incredibly lost. It lost a star only because of the price of a wine tasting (and the overall prices) and the lack of air conditioning. It felt to be at least 80º + inside yesterday, it was cooler outside with a breeze at least. The sommeliers, or at least staff (unsure) were super helpful, friendly, and you could tell really enjoy coming to work, or are at least convincing if they don't! I didn't get his name, but he lived a year in Indiana and had braces, he was awesome, very knowledgeable and was pleasant to talk to vs. a few other wineries i won't name.
This was our first stop on our June 2012 Napa visit, and it set the bar really high for the remainder of the trip! Beautiful winery, indescribable view from the deck, and FANTASTIC red wines. Daniel was our host, and he was superb in every way. Great personality, very knowledgeable about the wines, and he made us feel like he was interested in what WE like, and he tailored the pourings to our individual taste. I wish we could have purchased a case and shipped it home, which I think he may have thought we would, given how much we loved the wines. Alas, that isn't in our budget yet, but as soon as it is, we will be back. And we will buy more than the 3 bottles we took back this time. A must-see on the Napa Valley wine trail.
Teal helped us and she was wonderful. So friendly and very knowledgeable. Truly enhanced our tasting experience.
03/02/20: 4.75 out of 5 - I'll write more...
the estate is beautiful, but the service completely turned us off. It was my first year wedding anniversary and the way they treated us, two different people and also the way they talked to us, I would never go back. I was told wine trip the movie was filmed there which is why they are getting more attention, that great and all for them, doesn't mean you loose your customer service
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff pouring some great wines. Beautiful estate - highly recommend the tour.
Excellent wines. Spanish focus. Astonishing situation and architecture.
Beautiful view
Sylvia was our pourer for the day and she helped the experience become phenomenal. The winery itself held a modern feel with the winery itself built into the side of the hill, while the inner part of the winery held a Spanish culture that flourished. The decor, open concept and amazing bar with spaced tables gave the tasters the opportunity to be secluded with themselves while experiencing what the wines have to offer. I loved the experience and the winery overall and would recommend anyone to go to this winery and have a phenomenal time.
Ehh wine had little body. Place was pretty
Speechless view from the patio and well the wine only enhances the experience.
They scheduled our tasting for 430pm and Closed at 5pm. That was a fail. No time spent sharing the stories of the place or wine... they served us the last 3 glasses all at once with no explanation and mentioned they close at 5pm. Horrible experience.... gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the views are beautiful!
Great wine and fantastic views
Meh. Overpriced wines and a ripoff tasting. $45/person and it's only waived with purchase of 3 BOTTLES! Generally sterile vibe.
Average wines, average wine presentation, beautiful property and views
This place is absulutely beautiful! Especially on a warm spring day on the padio, I could stay here all day. The servers are very nice too.
Where bet wine
Take your wine out onto the deck for beautiful views all around.
It’s an awful experience. So we had a reservation for 11am tour. And due to traffic jam, we arrived at 11:40. I know it’s our fault. But the reception lady even did not allow us to sit at the tasting room or offer us a small drink, saying the tour has already started. We paid $90 for two and got nothing in the end.
This place is not kid-friendly absolutely. The host is very rude. Adjacent to the tasting room is a little slope that I would say most kids are tempted to climb. I am not saying my son should climb on it nor he should not regardless that fact that there is no sign. Anyway, the host knocked on the glass and asked him to get down from inside. My son got it and came right back down and we scolded him. I think this is the end to such negligence… Right after we entered the tasting room, the host rushed into me not to greet us but to deliver another “friendly” reminder in front of all the guests. ”Please just make sure he is not climbing on something.” Immediately we left. My son was scared and at shock that it sound like he had committed serious wrongdoing. It hurt him. I was upset about him causing all of this. After all, he clam me down softly and said, “Mom, but I am just a little kid.” We will never go back to this place again. Please show some respect to the kids, men!
Beautiful place for gatherings and wine.
The views were spectacular and the wines were great.
Incredible views, average wine, unsatisfactory service. Worth going to the grounds and walking up to the front door to see the view and take pictures and then leaving.
NOTE: please read the recent reviews because they've changed their rules and now it sucks. Really nice location, but boy do they waste it. Worth the drive up here but I wouldn't do a wine tasting here again. There's no where to sit, it's a terrible layout. You're not allowed to see the view unless you pay an exorbitant amount. We did the regular tasting that's $38. The first red they poured came from the end of the bottle and was way too little but the bartender couldn't be bothered to top it up to a regular tasting amount. It was barely three sips and the wine is mediocre at best. Their outdoor seating area is freezing cold with no sun, they need outdoor heaters. The only nice place to sit is in the "executive" lounge where you apparently need a reservation or something. Overall very disappointing experience. You should head over to Domaine Carneros instead, it's way better.
One of my favorite wineries. Great location with spectacular views, delicious wine with many choices for your palate, friendly helpful staff, and very well done member events. Highly recommended.
Wonderful ! Yummy wines !
Great scenic winery. But service is not good.
Came by on a Sunday. The view was lovely. There were people there but it was not overly crowded or touristy like some places. The people doing the wine tasting were nice and helpful (Freddie was great). Wine was wonderful. One of my new favorites.
Freddie Lambert made my day. We're members and have been to the winery many times, but his tour and tasting with him 12/09/14 was superb. So fun and so informative.....thank you
Just had a tasting at Artesa with my sister, mother, and grandmother. Our host was Sativa, she was so professional and knowledgeable. Next time we go, we will definitely be asking for her. What a beautiful location! The host really made the experience worth it.
Beautiful winery. Really great wines but service was subpar for Napa. We had been super excited to come and try as we heard great things. We brought our friends from out of town. The lady who checked us in was obviously not happy to be there. Cut off my husband several times. The woman who waited on us was very nonchalant and didn’t really check on us. Overall super disappointed in the service for such a well known winery. This alone will be the reason we personally choose not to come back.
Sit outside on a beautiful day... it's like you're on top of the world!
Great architecture with a wonderful friendly staff. The scenery is beautiful. Very busy on the weekends and holidays. Love the pinot noir here
This place is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The wine is always great and they have a nice variety. Make sure you make a reservation in advance, especially if you’re going on the weekend. It’s nice to sit outside on the patio area if you can. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. It’s a ways away from downtown Napa so it’s helpful to pair this with the wineries nearby.
Outstanding atmosphere set high on a hill. Contemporary architecture with beautiful views. We loved 7/7 wines we tasted and the service was exceptional!
Refined without being pretentious, Artesa is a standout among its peers. Enjoy its modern, understated grounds and breathtaking views. ...with a glass of wine in hand, of course!
If you asked last year, would have had a lot of good things tosay about this place.however we visited this year from out of town on labor day weekend and were shocked by how backward things have gotten.walking in we kept being accosted by the hostess telling us we can only sit at the bar area , no outside and no member only lounge.after much back and forth on were we can't sit, we finally managed to get 2 glasses of champagne and sit at a decent spot. To out horror my husband and I noticed that our 20$ per glass champagne smelled rancid.so my husband took it to the waiter who agreed.after all that the waiter tried to replace our glasses with half a portion (since we already took a couple sips)!!!how cheap! Our inlaws have come to this place for over 7 years and we came upon thier recommendation.we felt every body was so materialistic. Never again!
Great wine, beautiful ambiance
Fantastic view. Enjoyed a solid, beefy wine with great service and a non-pretentious feel.
Pricey. Nice service but you can find more special wineries in the area that are truly magical
Very good costumer service. A great winery for big groups. They give you a tour and after some tasting. It’s a 2 hours activity. They don’t show you the grape vineyards only the factory and then tasting.
Great place to explore with a view of the valley
Very modern setup, located in a somewhat secluded area. Parking was a hassle, unfortunately. We also found the ultra modern architecture to be a cold and uninviting - but the wine we sampled was very good, and the service at the tasting bars was prompt and genuinely friendly despite being quite busy. Outside patio area had nice views of the bay in the distance.
Worst hospitality with snobbish wait staff! I have visited many wineries in Napa. This place has been the worst experience by far. I have been to Artesa on many occasions. The wait stuff was so rude last night, this time was even worse. My family and i have been told we can't even walk into the wasting room despite we have put out names on the wait list. Some people think they are so fancy and snobby, so can treat guests with no respect. Will never come back to this palace again.
Beautiful venue! Great service! Very professionally run!
One of my favorite places. A lovely tasting out on the terrace. Hard to top that. A must do thing
We have to wait for 40 min even though that we have reservations The wine were acid…. Between glasses the waitress take about 25 min, seems that was nos service at all When we ask for food the said that they run out and….After 30 min later ….surprise !!! …the served cheese and charcuterie in the table beside ours !!!????????????????
What disappointing experience. I researched the best wineries in Napa and was excited to visit artesa for the view, food and wine. The experience started with us phoning artesa to book a reservation. They were rude. We went anyway. We ordered the signature wine pairing and charcuterie. The waiter simply dropped off the sub par charcuterie (a very cheap charcuterie looking plate, some pieces were frozen) and dropped off 5 wines with a quick description of each. It was grossly overpriced and with terrible service. Do not visit artesa, overrated.
Good for sight seeing
One of the most beautiful Winery in Napa, enjoyed wine tasting here!
RSVP required, lame! They had plenty of empty tables and bar seating lol
Loved our experience at this winery. The wine tasting was $45 for 6 different wines. The first couple of wines were not out of this world, but the reds were pretty good. Keegan was our server and he was amazing! Gave us great info about each wine.
It was more than what i expected...too bad i couldnt drink...but for my father who's birthday was last week (this was my gift for him)he had the best time drinking so many wines...and the view with the beautiful weather i couldn't have asked for more.
We've come to this place for 20 years. The setting and scenery are beautiful. It is always a must see when family and friends visit. This visit my Oregon daughter did the wine tasting and loved them. Service was great.
Emily was a great server, really catered to our individual likes....
The wine was good, but OMG - Carl Djerassi was our server?! One of the most famous scientists of all time is serving us wine....whoa.
Good wine!
Beautiful location and excellent service.
Wine was meh
We were absolutely blown away by this place! The location was stunning and the views were gorgeous. Allie took amazing care of us and we had such a great time! Highly recommend!
Great place, can't buy wine by the glass or bottle to drink there
Great place for an afternoon wine while enjoying the wine country views. If we lived in CA, we would be wine members.
Good times.
Great views. Wine isn't that good.
Have been here twice and have never had a bad glass of wine. The reds are the high point. Have always been treated great by the staff as they go out of their way to make your visit great. Unreal views from the balcony and an absolutely beautiful facility. A must visit winery in Carneros/Napa in my opinion.
The view is very nice. For the Rest they are owned by codorniu a Spanish winery só bot fully region authentic.
Great wines in a unique building. Try the Albariño!
Good vine. Good atmosphere.
Their new setup is BEAUTIFUL-and completely IDIOTIC. IF YOU DONT BELONG TO THEIR CLUB, OR DONT BUY A TOUR, YOUR NOT ALLOWED OUTSIDE TO EVEN LOOK AT THE VIEW-WITHOUT AQUIRING A "HOST". I bought $65 worth of wine, glasses for friends and their daughters 21st-had to stand in their lobby. Nope-never again. You guys better fix this, your wine isn't that great to begin with!
Beautiful view, an awesome photoshoot spot.
This was our second visit to Artesa. The view is second to none. Shelby is amazing. She is so knowledge and so fun. She made our experience outstanding. The wines, from sparkling, to rose, chardonnay and every red you can imagine... Something for every taste. It's so worth the trip!!
What a setting, beautiful tasting room and helpful staff. Our Aromatic flight tasting was delicious and Brady was very helpful. A must do. The Rose Brut is delicious!
Great view.
Great wine and informative tour and tasting experience to go along with it. Sylvia definitely taught us a lot. Made everything fun and easy to understand.
Andrew and Vincent we're our hosts/waiters and they were great. Knowledgeable and personable. Food pairings were wonderful. Highly recommend.
The views here are spectacular and the wine is fantastic. This was our last stop on a Saturday spent wine tasting and I wish we got here sooner to enjoy the tasting room for longer. I will definitely be back!
Great views of surrounding vinyard hills. However the facility and staff were pretentious and snobby, and not very welcoming; which is drastically different from a lot of the other vinyards in the area. They are a bit exclusionary when it comes to certain spaces that seem to be members only. This may be a positive for some, but a negative for me.
Artesa Vineyards and Winery was a wonderful experience! My good friend has been a member for many years so she invited my two buddies and I to Artesa winery.I must say, the wine tasting, service and view and the winery itself were truly spectacular!!! I have been too many wineries????in Napa, but Artesia is now among my top five! I purchased a delicious bottle???? of a 2017 Pinot Noir, Sangiacomo vineyard, and a bottle???? of the 2017 Chardonnay Old Western Clone. Perfection! Happiness...A great Sunday outing! Yes, we will be back!
Venue & Architecture: 5/5 The view is amazing from up top!! Our Napa tour led us here (group of 7) for our first winery stop. The venue and its property in front is beautiful—very picture worthy! Inside, it has a classy feel—also quite spacious and clean. Wine & food: 3/5 The wines were just okay. They give you complimentary wine sparkling wine to start off with! Some of us ordered a few different glasses of wine to try, while others tried the Single Vineyard Tasting ($55). The sparkling rosé was good! I was a bit disappointed with the charcuterie board—small pieces of cheese (brie was the only good one) and only one type of meat, some olives and nuts, and basic crackers—a bit overpriced as well and the overall presentation was unappealing. The portion was small so we had to order a second board. Service: 3/5 Our server seemed to be running around assisting multiple tables so we felt the lack of attention on our table. It took a while in-between each tasting for her to bring out the next wine, and learning about their wines was minimal.
Beautiful view, Abby was fantastic and really made us glad we made the trip!!
Amazing wine and views!
It’s definitely worth upgrading to the terrace if possible, charcuterie board included with the terrace tables. The indoor area is modern and very nice, but the terrace offers sweeping views of hillside vineyards in a quieter setting that’s well worth the extra cost. No reservation necessary, but it’s worth making one to make sure you can get a terrace view. Service was timely, and our server, Katie, was professional and an excellent conversationalist - perfect for the hospitality industry. A must visit spot if you’re ever in Napa. It’s defiantly worth repeat visits, too.
This is a very nice winery to enjoy Rose champagne, wine atmosphere and more.
Great wine and amazing views!
Located a short drive off the main roads, this winery is definitely one of the best places to stop while on a wine tour. The outside patio has both a server section as well as a first-come first-serve area that is amazing to drink wine on a sunny day with amazing views of the valley and even the bay in the distance. They have a good variety of wines for any taste bud, with my favorite being the tempranillo.
The best winery in Napa Valley so far
Great wine tasting experience! Along with the great wine you will be amazed by the views of the valley and San Francisco in the distance!
It’s a nice property with quality wines and our server was very nice and attentive. The only negative was a manager-type older lady who seemed a bit rude in letting us know we needed to hurry due to their closing. I get it, but there’s just a nice way to say it.
Great wines and an amazing winery building and grounds.
Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism from the event coordinator up to the director. When a higher priced client came in the venue dropped me last minute for more money despite an initial agreement. User beware.
The Marriott team just prepared an amazing catered dinner for the certified Angus group...love Artesia winery....
Probably the only time in history to visit and have the place to yourself. So just go. It was epic. Thanks, Artesa
While passing through the area we wanted to stop and buy some wine to take to friends. We were given the recommendation to stop here by an amazing vineyard in the local area from one of the nicest ladies we had met on our journey (she was an employee of the competing location.) She must have been mistaken or has not been in a long time. We have been all over Europe and South America visiting vineyards and this visit was the rudest and least hospitable we've ever experienced. We left immediately. Such a shame as we had great expectations based on the recomendation. The place looked amazing, (we never had a chance to purchase or taste wine). If only the staff was as nice as the view.... How we treat people during life says so much and we hope this review will encourage them to reconsider how they choose to run their business.
Exceptional winery. Gorgeous grounds. Freddie was one of the most friendly and accommodating sommeliers we have come across during out Napa visit. We loved the wines so much we joined their wine club.
Love the architecture of this winery.
We had a very disappointing experience, while the property is beautiful unfortunately the service is weak. We did a signature wine service at $45 a person in which Genevieve skipped the second wine on the menu. When we asked about it they just brought the missing wine. giving no lie to the idea that in their signature wine experience they've now dropped the ball and skipped one of their wines and interrupted our entire tasting once we complained to the manager he sent the same person to our table to deal with the mistake rather than dealing with it themselves. While being handed a litany of excuses of why I reiterated the fact that a signature wine experience missing one of the wines isn't a signature wine experience. Surprising that in Napa Valley of all places a premier winery can't deliver on their signature wine experience. I think they're far dependent on their environment and have no idea of service. When we asked about the charcuterie we had ordered in what was actually being served . It's Napa for God's sake Why don't you at least tell us what you're serving us that's supposed to accompany your precious wine. A complete fail which in their recovery process when they offered to take care of our tastings and then give us two bottles of wine for free, Genevieve neglected to ask which of the wines that we had tasted were our favorites and just gave us two random bottles. A severe lack in service which in the competitive market of Napa Valley is absolutely unacceptable and unbecoming.
(Translated) Amazing cellar! (Original) Increíble bodega!
Like the wine, especially the Pinnacle and rive gauche. The winery is a very nice space with a very nice view. But it's always super busy, and pretty commercial, which makes it not super relaxing. A bit disorganized, and takes some time waiting for service.
Awesome
A little pretentious but the views and wine are great
Not impressed! Felt like they were annoyed we were a party of 7, $35.00 for a flight of 3 tastings, Not that good wine especially for the price, not conversation for the waiter, terrible experience. The view was great and it was a beautiful morning the was the only good thing!! I don't even want to give it one star, but that would be for the View!
We had a great tasting experience, and got to taste a lot more than just what was on the tastings list.
Well worth a two hour drive. The wine is pretty damn good.
Love the wines...
(Translated) It was the best, and the staff members were kind enough to explain. (Original) 최고에요 직원분들도 너무 친절하게 설명해주셨습니다.
Artesa is a splendid architectural experience that’ll be great for anyone into stylistic buildings. The views are amazing as well. I’m pretty far from an experienced wine connoisseur, but their spanish carbenet stood out to me in the tasting session. Charcuterie board was average at best, and they don’t have any meal options so I’ll strongly advice planning a meal before / after a tasting session
We have been going to Artesa for years. We brought some friends this time and we were told they had changed their procedures to drink their wine. We could no longer drink wine on the terrace without paying $68 per person. We could sit inside at the old tasting room for $58 per person. Or stand at high tops for free. There was also a courtyard that was usually reserved for "club members." Very tacky. It went from our most favorite winery to our least favorite and we told them that when we left. They did not appear concerned. Go elsewhere until they change. This was the only place we experienced such gouging. Try Domaine Carneros across the road some two minutes. Great view and great wine.
(Translated) Attention well, perhaps there were many people, the view is unmissable! The wine, according to the palate of each one. (Original) La atención bien, tal vez habia mucha gente, la vista es imperdible!¡ el vino, según el paladar de cada uno.
Visited on a rainy day in January. The space is beautiful and we adored the bartender who did our tastings for us. She was super knowledgeable and friendly! The view can't be beat.
Amazing location, views, and wine speaks for itself… unfortunately their service is ruinous. Very disappointing end to a fantastic afternoon in Napa Valley. Reservations not met, dismissive hostess & a very disappointed wife. What a shame.
Love atmosphere, most modern outside...looks expensive outside
(Translated) Bacchus Wine We recommend (Original) Bachus Wina Polecamy
The winery is hidden in a hill. Large property to check out. Try to get in a tour of the winery.
Loved it. Loved the location, scenery, people, wine. Our favorite vineyard so far.
I got the feeling they were not interested in a small group of black women. We were greeted at the elevator and hurried out of the building with a fake smile. They encouraged us to go to another winery near by it was smaller. I felt offended because prior to arriving we called and they welcomed us and said we did not need an appointment. We traveled thousands of miles only to get the feeling that we were not welcomed.
Bad. The grounds are beautiful. The facility itself is nice but seems out of date when compared to some of the others in the area. We had a reservation which was confirmed. Upon arriving the front staff said we had the time wrong. When we showed them the confirmation email they said they'd accommodate us as a favor. We had a tasting with food. We were made to get wines ourselves from the bar and then go to our table for every round. No idea what we drank but it was all equally tasteless. We were told the kitchen was closed at 4 but again as a favor they could give us the food we had already reserved. The charcuterie platter was woefully sad. Would not go back here. Would not suggest anyone to go here. Wines were not tasty and the place was extremely poorly run with no service. Countless better / other options in the area. The couple we went with were club members and are cancelling their membership.
1) Do not pour the wine ahead of the event 2) Do not put the wine under the sun 3) Do not make guests wait that long they have to help themselves 4) Do not sell your wine 5 times their value then you did not get our business and even if your facility is incredibly beautiful, you wasted all of this great capital by not following some very basic hospitality rules. The wine under the sun was a bummer! AND you do not care enough about the customers you do not know, hence loosing lot of leads.
They were busy but Emily was fantastic and was super nice!
It's so sad to see how downhill the reviews have gone. This place used to be one of our favorites, and now the customer service has just gotten awful. I was recently told that I was NOT welcome in their tasting room while in my wedding dress. We had a very casual wedding and afterward we simply wanted to stop in for a quick celebratory tasting. We were told no. So because I'm wearing a white dress I can't come in??? Napa has strict rules on getting married at wineries, which I understand. What I don't understand is how it's not discrimination for you to tell me I'm not welcome due to what I'm wearing?? What if I was just an eclectic person who likes to wear fancy white dresses while sipping wine? But because we were honest and told them we were celebrating our wedding from earlier in the day, we were not welcome to enter the building.
Came here on a whim off of a friends recommendation. Wow the views are worth the trip alone. Only could get the walk in bar service but my God the pours here are generous compared to other wineries. I literally got full glasses of wine which were quite refreshing too. I got the aromatic tasting and lot of dry citrus wines, not sweet at all.
Sub par customer service.
This is a large winery in Napa and has a great view from the winery. Large selection to try and good wine. Nice outdoor seating to enjoy a glass and enjoy Napa weather and scenery.
Rating the view and grounds as amazing. Can't speak for wine or tasting experience as all rooms were sold out. Book ahead of going.
Artesa Winery has a beautiful location in Napa however has a proposal to clear cut a redwood forest near Annapolis Road in Sonoma County for wine production and use a lot of water in an area that is drought prone. Artesa is also owned by a large Spanish wine conglomerte that mostly produces bulk wines so if you like locally owned, sustainably produced wines, there are other choices in the area that are better.
An amazing view at an interesting modern design!
The wines out-do the neighboring wineries. Bianca at the wine club provided an unparalleled experience
Loved it. Loved the location, scenery, people, wine. Our favorite vineyard so far.
(Translated) They received us very badly. We traveled from far away to get here and the reception person did not want to receive us. I do not recommend to anybody. (Original) Nos recibieron muy mal. Viajamos desde muy lejos para llegar aquí y la persona de recepción no nos quiso recibir. No lo recomiendo a nadie.
Beautiful atmosphere, gracious service, beautiful views and delicious wine. Specifically loved the Caneros Chardonnay 2013.
Good wine, however I was disappointed that I couldn't order a glass of wine.
They cancelled my reservation 4 days before the trip, I only got an email from the reservation website, without any explanation.
I’m obsessed with this place. Do the tour taste the wine. Will def come back nice work artesa!!!
This was a gorgeous experience! The views were unbelievably better in person and the wines were amazing! We enjoy red wines and the Tempranillo was superb! Freddy was very personable and attentive and we appreciated his suggestions. He made the experience complete! Thank you for showing these two Texans a California good time!
Everything feels like it's "in the middle of nowhere" when visiting vineyards in wine country. Getting to Artesa makes one wonder if they're going the right way. Thank goodness for accurate GPS technology. I can tell you that getting to Artesa is worth it. The place is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The wines all have that "this isn't quite what I expected" quality (all in a good way). I really like the format of the tastings offered. You spend time in the tasting area and have the freedom to take your glass out onto the balcony to enjoy the view. Sipping good wine is only enhanced by great views. Kicked back with wine in hand to watch the sun set is a great way to end a day in Napa. I'm glad I made a stop to Artesa.
Great experience. Amazing views and wonderful architecture. A must visit in Napa
Absolutely lovely winery with some of the best views of Napa and SF. Very pretty estate as well. Our hostess, Shelby, was knowledgeable and extremely pleasant from first pour to last. Pinot Noir was best red. Incredible experience and will surely be returning!
Beautiful views...BUT, we came without a reservation and they said they couldn't seat us. All we wanted to do was have a couple bottles of wine. It wouldn't have been a problem but the whole winery was dead and a bunch of empty tables.
Katherine was amazing. Views were breathtaking. Bought a Pinot that was delicious! Definitely recommend!
This place is beautiful, very great for pictures. I give it one star because the service I got this time around was awful. I’ve been going here for 2 years now never had a problem until now. Our server was very intrusive asking very personal questions. He didn’t seem to care to educate us about the wine wine. He just put it in the glass and left. He was educating and catering to the people next to our table. He later asked if we’ve ever had wine before. Black people wine taste too????????♀️. It was very upsetting that he didn’t care to be nice and tell us more about the wine like he did other tables. I hope management do a better job in customer service. Very disappointed that at this time and age we (black people) are treated like we are invisible. I will not be coming here again!
Phenomenal views and landscaping
Good place and beautiful view
Wine isn’t my favorite but the estate is majestic. So beautiful. We did a tour here and they were really nice and accommodating. We booked the bottom floor for a tasting.
Really nice atmosphere for wine tasting but the place is small and gets crowded sometimes.
(Translated) This modern winery which belongs to the Spanish giant Codorniu is one of the very first that one can visit when coming from San Francisco and going to Napa Valley. From the hill where it is located, the view is superb. On the wine side, opinion is more mixed. We do a little bit of everything, sparkling wines of course, rather rustic reds. The public comes above all to consume rather than to taste, especially since the prices are those of a little everywhere (45 $ the "flight"). Do not forget to book in advance to be sure you have space, as there are always a lot of people.
If you're wondering why the reviews of this place have gone sharply downhill, it is for a good reason. The terrace and studio is no longer open to the public without a reservation and $55 tasting fee for all people seated. This business decision to create more revenue was clearly not thought out. Tasting in the gift shop isn't enjoyable by any means.
Great location, and really good wine.
Overall was a disappointing experience. Wines were okay at best, but the server wasn’t interested in answering any questions about the wine. The worst part was leaving Artesa. We called an Uber before we even finished our tasting, but they locked the gates so our Uber driver couldn’t get in to pick us up. We had to make the long walk down the driveway in very cold weather to meet him- it was cold/uncomfortable, and we had to make our Uber driver wait. Really disappointed in the experience overall.
Not bad
Whole lot of "don't care" going on here. Saturday Dec 5: "Bartender" seemed to have no interest in his product or customers and had to be pried for info. He would answer questions but kept it short and uninteresting, then would step back to stand away from the bar where he looked annoyed. "Sideburns" stood near him and looked annoyed too - like they were unwilling hosts at a bad party. Bartender was interested in texting; he kept his phone beneath the counter so he could keep in touch with the outside world, a more vast and interesting place than Artesa. You pay for multiple samples but beware-you're only allowed to have 2 of them on the bar at a time so any side-by-side tasting is forbidden. When you ask for a 3rd, one of the 1st two will be dumped out before you're through with it. Unwelcoming, uninterested staff made this very different from the positive experiences we had elsewhere that day.
Beautiful place, but wines are overpriced and too acidic.
Pretty winery in Napa
Beautiful place and omg, their wines are one of the best wines I have had in Napa. Must visit.
Beautiful
One of the most beautiful vineyards, i have been to in Napa valley. great a selection to try! They make wine from 250 different types of grapes! the guy showed me the shade card for all 250 different kinds of grapes! Above all, its location is mesmerizing.
We were members 3 years ago and loved it. Came back with some friends and I am sad to say we were disappointed. I felt it was over commercialized and the wines have lost their quality. The property is still beautiful but sad the wine has lost its luster.
My husband and I came here for our first wine tasting in Napa, and Diego was a great guide through it. He had answers for whatever questions we asked, and the winery itself is gorgeous. The view from the patio will make you want to stay there all day! We don't know much about wine, but we felt very comfortable here and would visit again if the chance arose.
Horrible hostess and pricing make no sense I won’t recommend going here they like to steal your money for little wine tasting
What a great find! Tucked away and hidden in the hilltop. Excellent wines with friendly staff to walk you thru the collection of Spanish inspired blends.
Nicest thing about this place is the view. Staff was condescending and the tastings were overpriced and had a VERY small wine selection.
Really impressive building. Wine was impressive. Had the sparkling. Zane is the best and was very helpful and informative. Really engaged the customer and made us all engage fellow drinkers. Would come back again for sure!!
Very beautiful. Not an intimate wine-tasting experience, but definitely something to see.
Looks great but not hospitable. Don't allow dogs even outside.
Beautiful grounds and tasty vino!
My favorite winery from our short trip to Napa/Sonoma. We had a largish group and they were very accommodating (we had previously booked a private tour). The tour (~90 mins) provided an excellent overview of Artesa's wines and their history, but was lacking in technical information on the winemaking process itself. I suppose most people are just there for the wines though, which were fantastic, if not a tad expensive. The scenery was beautiful as well - we arrived late morning to blue skies and clear views of the valley.
Red varietals and sparkling wines are superb!!
Not my favorite tasting.
I traveled over to Napa to visit the winery and grounds of Artesa. Millions of dollars have been put into this development but should we buy the wine when there are hundreds if not thousands of choices for California wines. Artesa is trying to build another million dollar development by clearing forested coastal land on the Sonoma coast. Why support a wine that is basically a chainsaw wine? There are many other more responsible wineries that are not owned by a Spanish corporation or any corporation, that dry farm without taking water for fish and without using large amounts of pesticides or no pesticides. Let's vote with our dollars.
(Translated) Beautiful scenery, good wine, friendly staff (Original) 風景優美舒服,酒好喝,服務人員親切
Awesome view, nice building, great people. I visited as part of an event and cannot give a full review but for a big group it was perfect. Huge outside area, can host more than 100 people in their facility. The build looks modern. The best aspect is the view.
(Translated) You can drink good wine in the majestic nature. The view is very good and you can drink wine while relaxing. (Original) 雄大な自然の中で良質のワインが飲めます。 景色がとても良く、のんびりしながらワインが飲めます。
Beautiful scenery on top of the rolling hills.....friendly staff!
BEAUTIFUL winery situated on a hill overlooking a lake. The tasting room is large and very nice and they have great, reasonably priced wines. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that it's $15 to taste, non-refundable with a wine purchase ($15 is already pretty high, but isn't buying wine the point?? Shouldn't they refund it?) Check in on the Winery Finder app and you'll get a 2 for 1 tasting.
Great, friendly service. Shelby waited on us and she was fabulous! We found this place thanks to fellow yelp reviewers :) we had foods pairing with wine tasting which were both awesome! Definitely recommend this place.
best views secluded limited wine selection...good place overall
Great views (it's set up on a hill so the panoramic view from the patio is good). Loved the art, fountains, and courtyard. The staff was friendly.
No "picnic permit" so no outside food, but they sell food inside. Wines and views might be decent but with that attitude they can keep them.
Great atmosphere, excellent views from our table, great customer service
View is good. Wine just ok
Disappointed with the customer service. Brought my family here (group of 8) and we were told by the employee (Keegan) that our group was too large, which seemed ridiculous given the bar is quite spacious. He didn't suggest any solutions like splitting us into two groups of 4 or something like that he simply said "sorry, not possible". All other wineries in the area have much more friendly staff. It's a shame bc this place looks very nice.
Good experience and the weather in the evening right before they close it was great. The only issue really was some of the worse that come and try to eat the meat on your plate!
Friendly people, wonderful tour, and wonderful wines.
Beautiful winery with good wine. It has gotten more commercialized over the years.
Man, what a great place this could have been...we had a group come and our tasting fee was 35 a person. Not bad, but then when we all enjoyed the wine and purchased almost $1,000 worth of wine, we were told our tasting fee wouldn't be waived because we had a reservation. Be warned about this little trick that cost us $400+ in tasting fees.
Go for the views only. This is probably the most spectacular view as far as vineyards go but don't waste your money on booking a tour. We spent $120 for 2 for a 90 min tapas and wine tour which was nothing more than a small plate of chips with salsa, 2 slices of cheese and a piece of chocolate to taste with 4 sips of their different wines which were not very good. The tour was over in less than an hour and our tour guide walked us outside to see the view and then back into a glass room to taste and was not very knowledgeable. She did mention she's a yoga instructor by day and we felt like she has somewhere else to be and seemed distracted which made us feel like a burden. When we went to the bar to get another "taste" we were questioned about what tour we had joined as the wine does not flow freely here at all. We took an Uber car and wasted that money as we left totally sober. Again, go for the views and at most a $20 bar tasting but don't waste your money on the tours. If you want to see a good wine tour I suggest Frogs Leap vineyard.
What a wonderful vinery????????????????????. Our host Brady was wonderful too!!! Vinery Archetecture and wines exeptional! This place is NOT to be missed in Napa Valley. Tasting room so cozy, the view out of mind, art pieces thruout the vinery put with lot of taste. The best one so far,and I've visited many of them in Napa&Sonoma valley.
Make you pay up front, then you find out it is crowded and they take forever to wait on you.
Terrible service during the week ends. Good luck going there and being able to get decent service. Understaffed and staff extremely rude as they are under pressure. Talking to the manager only resulted in some cold useless apologies. View is beautiful but do not go there for tasting wine. It took us 30 minutes or so to be able to ask for a glass of water. Would highly recommend to management to hire more staff if they would like to accommodate clients during the weekends or simply not let people in if their staff is too busy. Wine is quite expensive for the quality so you are paying mostly for the view. Generally Napa is oversold and quite expensive. Compared to other wine countries, wine in Napa became atrociously expensive for what it is and Artesa is no exception to that trend. Parking is poorly indicated and the first space is actually for delivery so do not park there and keep going further near the stairs with the fountain.
First time, stopped by for the higher end tasting. Busy day. Website is misleading. Waited for 45 min for a tasting ticket. Not impressed by the customer service. Not friendly or welcoming. Had to keep going up and wait at the busy bar for the tasting... $55 ???? One star for the beautiful views!
My family and I had the most lovely wine tasting experience here! A very strong recommend from me. We showed up unannounced with no booking and were lucky enough to have the regular tasting. The staff were professional and insightful at the beginning. We started to discuss more of the smaller details of the vineyard and when the staff realized we were not there just to get drunk we started to experience more of the wines. The wines were lovely. Standouts for me were the limited release Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir. I really enjoyed the sparkling rose and brut as well (we walked away with a few bottles of each). A real standout is the architecture and art works. You could probably spend a couple of hours floating around soaking in all the details. A very strong recommend from me, I would happily return!!!
We had an amazing time. This vineyard is one of the most beautiful in the entire area. Simply the facility is worth the trip. Their private wine tasting/tour is worth every penny. We had Peter as our guide and he was nothing short of amazing. As a Sommelier I can confirm all of Peter's knowledge and all of the quality of this vineyard. Make sure to visit.
Artesa is probably best known for its beautiful grounds and scenery. As you head up to the tasting room, you're surrounded by elevated views of Carneros and calming water fountains. You really feel away from the rest of the world when you're up here. The tasting room itself is airy and roomy, with modern fixtures and extremely tall ceilings. Tastings are very reasonable and there are plenty of 2 for 1 offers available. Since it was our first stop of the day, my friend and I shared 1 tasting... but it turned out to be 2 full tastings because our server gave us quite a few extra flights. He was really nice and took his time to explain everything. He tried to figure out what we liked best and poured us some off-flight tastes. Artesa is a great first stop of the day if you're in the Carneros area. It's the perfect combination of relaxation and pleasure.
Very beautiful place. Bad customer service and rude staff.
Phenomenal views, excellent service and great wines!
So my experience Was mixed. My cousin, sister, and I came to visit the winery for a tasting and we received a person named Catherine who was “supposed” to be helping us. We asked her for a cheese plate or a charcuterie board and she said there was none. After, Sylvia came to help another table and they asked for the same thing and she told them that they might have them and if they did that she would bring them out one. being a black woman and in the current climate it is really hard not to see inequity being that the other table that also asked for food was white. There after, Silvia helped us while, Im assuming, catherine was in the kitchen making the charcuterie board. Catherine proceeded to come out and say that she would help us, disappeared and never came back. So Silvia continued to bring out our flights and explain to us about the wines. Once we were ready to go Catherine showed up and handed us a receipt. My experience was mixed because Silvia went above and beyond to help the customer even letting us know that if there was a charcuterie board available that she would bring us one Instead of immediately saying that there isn’t one without even going to check. Silvia was prompt, courteous, and gave a very pleasant experience. Catherine on the other hand made me wish I would’ve spent my money elsewhere.
Wonderful, beautiful place.
I cannot express how much I LOVE this place! I've been back 3 times in just the last 8 weeks. I will forever insist on stopping by here whenever I'm in wine country :) +Beautiful view, some of my best photos ever were taken here +Extremely friendly staff with great personalities +Very drinkable wines and are all priced accordingly +Low cost tasting ($10-15 for 5 flights) compared to $30-50 Napa tasting fees +Wide selection of wines +Excellent wine club that offers fab discounts on wine, lodging, dining, and more! +Many places to sit and sip whether it be out on the balcony, in the courtyard, indoors, or in the VIP lounge. Have I mentioned that I'm completely in love with this place?
First time here this past weekend. The views and facility are gorgeous! It is worth the drive to this place off the path a little ways just to look over the southern part of the valley. The wines were not my favorite but again, the scenery is worth it!
Every thing was very nice
Amazing place to visit!! We usually spent less than an hour at wine tastings but we ended up spending almost three hours here!! With each wine we were tasting we took a stroll outside to enjoy the 360 degree view of the land. Breathtaking!!! All the bar staff and front desk people were so pleasant to talk to and I can tell they love their job! Cannot wait to visit again.
Hated this place, worst host ever seen, they were so rude as I had a kid. Didn't have a single moment that I would like to remember of this place. Even wine was so-so, there are other wineries have better food and wine than this place.
Spectacular views. Beautiful courtyard for a tasting room. Brady was a gracious host. Excellent service. Their Pinot is excellent
Beutiful winery on a hill top overlooking Napa valley.
Shelby truly made our experience one to remember. The day we visited was the atmospheric river. One of the reasons people said visit was for the views so imagine our disappointment with all the rain. But Shelby was truly a ray of sunshine. She thoroughly explained so much about the wines that we tasted and no question was too basic. We enjoyed the wine and ended up ordering a bottle. The inside was lovely so we still managed to take some pictures.
Great winery, very good wines, and fabulous view.
Nice outdoor wine tasting
A bunch of pretentious a-holes ruining the place. Uptight atmosphere. Average wines.Looooooots of rules. Why bother ?
Amazing place , Tito was our sommelier. Very knowledgeable person. Took the time to explain every aspect to us
