Beautiful location and facilities, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We just returned from a long weekend here, and it's elegant enough to feel pampered, but also laid-back enough that you can relax and feel at home. Great views, constantly changing with the weather and nice trails about to enjoy nature. The restaurant menu isn't huge, but well varied and very good. Only had dessert the final night, but dessert may be where the kitchen really shines. The wine list is extensive and feature local vineyards and apparently the cocktail menu is about to get an overhaul, which is due. I suspect they were short-staffed the first night, because every other meal we had through the long weekend was delivered with incredible speed considering they were at full capacity with the Covid-reduced seating. There was a lineup (usually less than 5, at most 15 minutes) in the last hour before breakfast, but they managed to get everyone through very efficiently without ever feeling rushed. A new Austrian chalet restaurant is about to open below too, which may help. The place was very clean, Covid protocols were maintained and sanitizer is at all contact points. There's no wear on the woodwork or furnishings, but there are a few areas in the rooms where a maintenance person could address minor wear/poor fitting to make it just like new. Note this is an adult-only resort, but they do have some pet rooms for 4-legged family members.

Amazing experience thanks to James the Assistant Front office Manager. James made our trip very special and I look forward to coming back again. Highly recommend the stay. We were with a small group for business meetings at hotel and Wine tour with Sip Happens that all went amazing. Thanks Robert

It’s unfortunate it’s not better for the price. The restaurant was never great but now the buffet breakfast is a set menu. My eggs Benedict was inedible. The English muffin was petrified and the hash brows would have been fine but had been ruined with about 4 times more salt than required. Saunas are closed so we were enjoying the outside pool as were a few other groups. We were told to be quiet at 8:30pm! Children aren’t allowed so I’m curious who is going to sleep at 8:30 ???? Also there was a burned out light in the bathroom. Minor I suppose, but for the price you’d expect them to pay attention to those sorts of details. Overall very glad I got a good corporate discount, otherwise would not have been worth it. Update…. I provided my info to marketing per the request below and now it’s 5 days later, but haven’t heard from anyone. Don’t seem particularly interested in improving ????‍♀️

First, we were very happy to see the covid protocols being followed. Upon checking in, we were asked for our vaccine passports. For our entire 4 day stay, everyone had a mask on in all parts of the resort. I still find the whole 'eating in the restaurant without a mask' thing a bit strange but the tables were spaced out and people did wear masks while entering and leaving the restaurant. The room was clean and the view was beautiful. The bed was not very comfortable for us. It was like a memory foam type and it was too soft. We also didn't like that it used a flat sheet on the bottom instead of a fitted sheet. The result was the sheets always felt like they were coming off. All the staff were friendly and personable and very helpful. That was great to see because I know this has been a tough time for hotel and restaurant staff. We enjoyed the morning breakfasts, especially the yogurt dish. Our biggest disappointment was that the indoor pool was absolutely freezing. We did ask about it and were told that they had been having problems with it and that it would be looked into. Unfortunately by the end of our stay, the pool was still cold. The outside pool was lovely but it was difficult to swim lengths because of the number of people in the pool and it's awkward shape. Hopefully the pool will be working properly next time we go to Sparkling Hills.
