This Winery is included in the category of Winery.
Poor social distancing and Covid safety was minimal. Large crowds and the tasting room was full and busier than usual. We walked away and went down the road to a place that had a responsible tasting procedure. Not good I am sorry to say.
It may look like a bit of a drive to get out there but it is absolutely worth it. We were greeted with a glass of white and then went on to the tasting. The current building is amazing and the construction plans will make it more so. Definitely worth another visit.
It was good but unfortunately sold out of many options. Have to try again earlier in the season!
I didn't find all the wines we tasted that amazing. However one did stand out but it was more a bubbly wine. Glamor farming was delicious.
The location is a bit remote (in between Kelowna and Vernon) but the view definitely worth it. There is easy parking for RVs as well. I am aware that taste is something you can discuss endlessly or not at all, but the majority of the wines were not worth their very high prices in my wife's and my opinion. The "champagne" for $89 had hardly any taste at all, the Riesling was so sweet that we wondered where the residual sugar came from, because the alcohol was listed with 13,9%, which is already a very high amount and should have used up most if not all of the sugar available from the grapes in this climate. Anyhow it tasted not like a Riesling should taste. In a nutshell, except for the Chardonnay for $39, nothing we were offered convinced us. We bought one bottle in the end, because to be able to taste the pricey stuff, you have to pay $10 per person, so the bottle cost us $19 effectively. On the positive side the restaurant is definitely worth recommending. Their online reservation worked flawlessly (and I would recommend it, because it filled quickly around 1pm), the staff is friendly, they accommodated for the special wishes of our kids and the food was very tasty. To sum it up: the restaurant is worth a trip for the food and view, but the wines are neither worth the drive nor their mostly quite high prices. If you want to do a wine tasting, go to a smaller winery where the owner is personally pouring and you can have a profound chat about how to make quality wines with them.
Beautiful spot with excellent wine and they are expanding next year in a big way. Can't wait to see what they come up with!
A trendy, upscale winery. A summer evening dinner with wine will provide you with a memorable Okanogan visit. The facility is stunning and the curated menu is creative and restrained. No five page binder of offerings to slog through here. The halibut was wonderful, and the suggested wine pairing, spot on. Experience a rare, high quality level of service and a manager (John) who knows what is required to make your visit an exceptional experience.
Beautiful place ! Very modern and airy! Now the food is a different story ! Maybe the labour shortage in Okanagan has influence basic items as pizzas!!Sour pizza not well done! Well wine suggestion was not what we asked for ! Service was very good and the staff very nice and cheerful! We have been once in every winery ! Second time though maybe not!
Best restaurant in the Okanagan!!
Gorgeous venue, beautiful view and first class service. Everything about this place make it a worthwhile destination for wine tasting and/or eating at the restaurant. The mushroom toast at Bloc One exceeded expectations.
What a terrible experience... the setting was ideal, we were there before the rush and the scenery was breathtaking... but the staff??? REPREHENSIBLE. We were treated like an inconvenience. I have no more words.
I can't express how much I love this place! We have returned several times now, and we always leave with a smile on our faces. Everything is well thought, whether it be the interior design, the amazing view, the wine or the presentation and quality of the food. The staff always goes above and beyond, and treats you with respect. If there is one place that is worth experiencing in Wine Country, this is the spot!
The service was excellent. The food was wonderful, we share 5 different appetizers and enjoyed all of it. You have an awesome chef. We had a great time.
Love this winery, excited for their patio to open! I’ve been numerous times from when they opened to when they opened their restaurant and as they grow I’m always excited to go back.
Beautiful, incredible, amazing!
Great place for anniversary
My partner and I have been here numerous times and are never disappointed. The service is great. The food is oh so delicious. And the wine is simply amazing!
Fantastic restaurant & winery, staff was very welcoming & accommodating, Reselling wine was superb and the food as well , fabulous evening for my wife and I.
Awesome winery!!!! Blake was super helpful and knowledgeable. If I was living in the area I would be a regular there. Highly recommend it!
Good presentation but tasted pretty bland especially for the price tastes more like an expensive chain restaurant. If you’re looking for amazing food check out hillside estate winery they are on a totally different level
Wonderful wines...excellent food and an amazing view! Practically perfect in every way!
Wine tasting and lunch. The views, venue and wine were spectacular! Also had top tier service.
Its literally the best place go go for a casual or profession meal. The view and staff are amazing, I'm positive this will be my favorite go to spot for relaxation
The charcuterie board was fantastic, the pizza was great, and the wine (Pinot Noir) amazing!
Lovely location, beautiful views a bit dissapointed with the wine however food was delicious
Super disappointed in this vineyard. It was quite busy and a huge lack of of social distancing from people in the tasting room and it was quite pretentious for what it was. Additionally the wine prices are extremely high for the region and we have found wine that better suits our pallet for a much more reasonable price within the same region. It's not for me but some people seemed to really enjoy themselves here if that is what you are interested in.
Great wine. But terrible food... Not worth the money
Even during COVID-19 this place is great. Many beer flavours to choose from, good food, friendly staff.
Nice place very good food . Very nice staff I will be back
Visited this beautiful establishment for a wedding and it was quite the experience! Wonderful wines, well prepared dinners and fantastic customer service. Definitely recommend if your considering a wine tour in the area.
Had my first sabering experience - LOVED the food and wine is tasty too!
My family has been going to 50th Parallel a couple times every summer since it had opened. This year we have been a little disappointed with the steaks. The tenderloin is very inconsistent meaning the portion sizes vary from plate to plate. Some people from my party received 2 smaller tenderloins and another member from my party received only 1 smaller portion of steak. In terms of the ribeye, it was over cooked twice. However, the service and the rest of the food my party ordered was amazing.
Great winery. Good food.
Amazing food and service, probably the best! Bravo.
We went to Block One restauant last night and I was very impressed by everything. The view is stunning, service had no faults, and the food was outstanding in both flavour and presentation.
Nice place
Some nice wines and friendly staff. We had our kids with us and they let them do an 'ice tea tasting' which the kids got a kick out of. Enjoyed the wine and the view.
This winery was absolutely gorgeous and the staff, atmosphere, and experience was the best we have had yet on our wine ventures. The chardonnay was really good. We would recommend this one for sure!! Very classy and welcoming (thanks for all the wine info and answering all of our questions, Dustin).
BLOCK ONE exceeded my expectations on all levels ... but our server, Julian, knocked it out of the park. In my years of living in the Okanagan, this is only the third time I've experienced the level of service knowledge that is usually reserved for fine dining restaurants and he delivered it in spades! While dining on the beautiful patio we felt transported and had a great experience. The view, the food and of course the wine ... all top notch. Do not miss visiting this restaurant!
Beautiful place, great hospitality but none vegan options on the menu. Few vegetarian. sustainable places like that must be more inclusive and think on everyone.
Busy place when we were there. Food was good but pricey. Wine was excellent but again, pricey. $$$. Make a reservation on the weekend.
The food here amazing beyond words.
Nice winery! Would have had a nice view if it wasn’t for all the forest fires around causing all the smoke. Was here for a wedding for just under 90 people and I would say it fits that comfortably. They really tried to accommodate our vegan lifestyle which was really nice. Salad and entree were regular and instead of flatbreads they had some roasted cauliflower for us.
Good lunch menu paired with wines that continue to improve beyond their challenging beginnings. I had a foragers pizza with a glass of Chardonnay. Pizza was quite charred but other than that a good experience overall.
Dinner with family. Mark is an amazing server, really takes care of you, definitely number one reason to go back. Great pizza, crab cakes, wine, sunset.
What a great place for a summer dinner. Funky, but appropriate music, the beautiful view of the lake and excellent service make it. The food is excellent too, however a little pricey. But if you are looking to spoil yourself and loved ones, this is a great way to do it.
Great tasting wine. The young man than served us for our tasting really made it a great experience with his energetic and knowledgeable details. We would love to come back.
Incredible french-inspired food - beautiful view and decoration inside. The wine pairing to each of the dishes were great, and the staff were very knowledgeable and flexible regarding allergies.
Both the wine and food were absolutely delicious. Not to mention the scenery. Highly recommend.
I recommend this place to everyone visiting or locals who don't know this gem yet.
This is a must see winery and restaurant! Exceptional service, food and even better wine! This is worth the short drive from Kelowna! Be sure to try the reserve Pinot noir!
Beautiful views, amazing winery, super friendly service and the food was delicious
What an experience!!! We were staying at the Sparkling Hill Resort and kinda started to run out of gas on our drive to Block One. We shared the story with our server Alex, who gave us advice on how to get gas after the meal. She gave great recommendations on wine and food - we had a gorgoeus bottle of chardonay, the heirloum salad, tuna tataki and margharita pizza - the meal was one of the best I've ever had in my life. For real. Then as we are considering dessert (we ended up getting the banana choclate cake thing which was mind blowing), Alex walks up to our table and says "hey, do you wanna hear a funny story?"....obviously we say yes..."My dad lives really close to here and hes gonna swing by with a jerry can of gasoline for you guys"...funny story Alex? Not that funny, but more heart warmingly awesome. Her dad came by about 15 minutes later and that gem of a man put 5-6 litres into my tank. We then had enough gas to get back to the resort. The next day, we drove to Vernon to fill up the tank and go to Kalamaka, I put 54.3 litres into my 55 litre tank. Mark and Alex saved our night!!! I also got engaged that day, so running out of gas in the hills of northern okanagan, would have put quite a different spin on an amazing day. Top 5 best food experiences I've ever had and #1 best service I have ever recieved. Thank you Block One, Alex, and Mark
Amazing atmosphere, great menu. Worth the drive for a beautiful meal, great wine and picture worthy views. First Class facility.
Wonderful environment with amazing food
They just opened their tasting venue today. Lovely welcome drink and rose! Generous pours on tasting and very nice pinot noir. Wish them all the best with the new restaurant! Will definitely return.
Great wine tasting during COVID circumstances.
Wow... This place has sprung from being an idea to a place worthy of getting on a flying bus for!
Matthew's service was excellent. Very engaging, funny and knowledgeable about the various wines. Of course, the wine is excellent too! Great job and keep it up!
Beautiful open air seating with gorgeous views. Serving staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The estate wine was amazing and the food was even better! Great selection of entrees and appetizers. Thank you for the wonderful night the celebrate our anniversary!
Wasn't very welcoming, quite expensive
Had an awesome experience. We had a wine tour during the pandemic and our tour guide, Travis, did an amazing job. He Has a true passion and explained everything so well. Short and Sweet, but definitely made the experience for us! ????
Great wine, great food, excellent service!
Beautiful place! Great food. Service was mediocre
Google says they open at 10am, but the restaurant actually opens at 11am. We came here at 10 in person and asked one of the staff if I could make a reservation at 11 for the restaurant. He was just chatting with his female colleague when I asked him so he told me he is busy setting the table and dismissed me. I understand sometimes there is no rewards for being nice but staff here lacks basic human decency. This place looks very contemporary and the staff behavior showed me this winery has no heritage or culture to back them up. Probably just a new winery following the footsteps of all the other good wineries to make a few bucks. I went to 4 wineries this trip and this is by far the worst I have ever seen. Will not ever come here again.
Beautiful new winery, located a short drive from Kelowna. Super friendly staff and top notch wine (especially their Pinot noir). A must visit if you appreciate good wine.
We did wine tasting and then enjoyed a phenomenal meal at block one. This was truly an amazing experience - thanks so much Howard and Mike for making our night
Great food, great service and beautiful setting. Couldn't ask for more when having dinner at a winery. Mande was our server and was phenomenal. Highly recommend!
This place is fantastic. It’s in one of the most beautiful spots in the Okanogan and they do an incredible job showing it off. We’ve eaten here a few times and it attracts quite the eclectic mix of humans, it’s almost worth sitting down for a bottle of wine and watching the characters pass through. The wait staff is awesome and the food lives up to expectations. I recommend this place to all my friends passing through.
Witnessed my friend get married here this weekend. It was so beautifully done! Amazing wine (try the pinot noir rose!) and good food. The fish tacos were featured on the Friday for lunch, they were amazing! Will definitely be bringing family members back here to share the experience.
The food and wine were excellent. I really like that on their menu they have suggested pairings. Prefect! Great ambience and reasonable prices for the good. A good food variety as well. Service was excellent.
What a beautiful location! Nothing but love for this place. Gigantic and airy tasting room, and lots of flavor in the wines. All-around fabulous experience. Thanks!
Wow this place is not what it was! We had such a disappointing experience. Happy hour was misleading. It actually ends at 445 pm and is not served in the restaurant. The manager had the gall to suggest we should have known to reserve in the lounge. We were looking forward to that menu. Instead we ate off the dinner menu. The food was not good. The sablefish has a fishy smell and wasn’t tasty. The octopus was chewy and the portions were do ridiculously small. The scallops were dry and the sauce sucked. The tempura mushroom was oily and the duck wings were gross. When we spoke to management they were not helpful at all. Don’t bother going here as the quality isn’t what it was.
Superb food and the wine is some of the best in the Okanagan Valley. A must stop of you're visiting the area.
The team at 50th Parallel went above and beyond when to get a bottle shipped to my house after there was an error on a previous order. They really care about their customers. Will be back during the summer!
We had a wonderful time very good tasting and excellent wines thank you Colin you were great. Be sure to try the Chardonnay
Wine girl was awesome with fun and information about the wines..lovely decor
The servers at the restaurent were great. The food was good as well. It has beautiful, modern outdoor patio with waterfalls. We tried their burgers and the Shrimp ceviché. I would recommend to stop by.
Great food and great atmosphere. Overall a really great experience. The only bad thing we could say is that they would not serve us the bottle of wine that we bought in the tasting room.
Superb dining experience with wonderful wines and gorgeous views. Our server Mark was exceptional and very helpful. Scallops, Crab cakes, Beef Tartare and beet salad were exquisite. Wine pairings of Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay were perfect. We'll be back!
Great place just poor customer service! Wines not worth the price. I decided to support all local but this is NOT one of them definitely!
Our evening started off amazing- the food was excellent and our server was great until the pizza we ordered to go (at the beginning of the meal) took over an hour after we had finished eating. We specifically said “to go” when ordering and reminded the server to which even after a reminder it took another forty minutes. A man, who I assume was the manager, (he failed to introduce himself), came over to accuse us of confusing the server because we were “sitting on the grass” and “the restaurant got busy”. He tossed a bottle of wine our way, but never even asked what we liked nor did he offer to refund our money. It was so disappointing considering everything else had been so great! The pizza wait also delayed our check in at our hotel and we missed our appointments which cost us as well. So be prepared if you go and have an issue- the blame is placed on the customer and do not expect your money back. We also still tipped 18% on a $250 bill. So it’s worth the view and quality of the food, the management very much left a sour corked note on our evening.
Food was great. Portion was generous with reasonable price. Mushroom soup was a kick.
Beautiful spot, was poorly shaded and very hot, it was hard to enjoy dinner sweating, food is good kinda feels like they thought what sounds expensive and work the menu backwards from that. Of I go again I would highly recommend making your reservation right at sundown for the best experience
Great atmosphere, food and views.
Absolutely divine food! I tried a bunch of appies. The prawns, beef ribs, and crab cakes were scrumptious. I also tried the s’mores dessert and the creme brûlée! Both were so rich and delicious. The server that we got was super friendly as well, he had an awesome knowledge base and was able to give us the full low down on all the wines.
Beautiful views and fabulous food - don't miss the beef tartare.
Great winery and really nice restaurant!!! Service was amazing and food very nice. It all comes with a view. A must stop on your itinerary!!! Make sure to try the crab-cake, one of the best I had so far and pair it with their Pinot Gris. Hummmm so good.
Block One Restaurant is simply unbelievable. The food, the view, and of course the wine, are all unparalleled. Add in a free shuttle from downtown Kelowna... easily the best winery in BC. Go! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Came last night for a special anniversary celebration and we were super impressed. Beautiful architecture, wonderful service, food, and wine...how lucky we are to have this gem in our backyard! We can't wait to come back.
Extreme experience! This place is fire! Especially if you staying at sparkling hill. 10 min drive from it. Located by the water. I rate this place. Views are amazing. I been to every place in Okanagan for wine and this my top three places. Food fire too. If you in the area go to this winery.
The facility is beautifully designed. It overlooks the winery. It has a restaurant just off the tasting room. For a romantic time, or hosting an event, I would recommend. One feels very much at ease and it really is very peaceful. Please note I can't speak to their cuisine as I didn't eat there. The restaurant wasn't busy, however, call them or use Open Table to make a reservation. I noted they provide a shuttle service which I would use, since I would be trying the wine with my meal. The staff in the well laid out tasting room were knowledgeable and made guests feel welcome. An overall positive experience and I recommend visiting the establishment.
* Impeccable * is the word that comes to mind at this "must do" winery in the Okanagan. The wine, the food, the SERVICE, the atmosphere, are impeccable at the 50th Parallel. An old high school buddy and I enjoyed a gourmet lunch in stylish and sleek surroundings before being taken on a private tour and wine tasting. The server at lunch was as attentive and professional as they come. I asked him what the house ketchup was like... he came back with a small bowl of it for me to try. The tour guide was just the same. She had prepared wine to taste for us along our tour and was as pleasant and knowledgeable as they come. You will be taken care of here and you will be back.
Great place for whites, and they make an awesome Pinot Rose.
One of my favourite winery in Okanagan, loved my experience there. The staff was friendly, patient and professional. Not one of those typical big tourist wineries, but the environment was solid and the food was great. A must go if you love white wine:)
Great venue to enjoy a friend's wedding, you let me do what I want, security guard Gary was awesome, he didn't ask me to leave the property once
This is a brilliant restaurant nestled in the hills overlooking Okanagan Lake. It is possible, I hear, to hike up to this place from your boat on the lake. The S'More dessert was really fun, blending delicate sensations into something that subtly reminds you of a campfire. It is the burnt honey I've cream.
As Lake Country residents we've enjoyed their wines over the years and Block one, but after yesterday will take our business elsewhere. Drizzling rain on a mid afternoon on a Thursday not in peak season, brought our family from Alberta here for wine and photographs. We were going to take some photos before hand. Someone @ 50th came out and asked us to leave the property, said it was private property, that we couldn't take photos there, and basically didn't matter if we bought wine, paid, or anything, that we had to leave. Place wasn't busy, easy 10-12 bottles of wine would have been bought and could have been a great afternoon. Instead we were asked to leave, and we won't be back. 50th was already off the beaten lake country winery path, Arrow leaf has great views and wine.
Some amazing wine, food, views and staff! I recently was at a wedding here and it was amazing!
It has taken a little more than a year to get to Block One Restaurant... and we are now kicking ourselves for the wait! What a great experience. Between the service and the food - it was well worth it. Coming from Vancouver and now living in the Okanagan we struggle at times with the 'food' scene locally. This evening however... was a hit! We were a group of four. Our server for the evening was attentive without being overly chatty, knowledgeable and led us in the right direction. We began the evening with the Crab Cakes and the Grilled Stone Fruit and local Tanto-Latte Burrata. Both plates were beautifully presented and full of flavour. Our main courses comprised of the Garden Pappardelle with Pork Belly, Haida Gwaii Halibut and Margherita Pizza. Timing for each course was perfect - not rushed nor on-top of one another. Plates were plentiful and well presented. Flavours all well balanced and fresh! I will admit the Halibut was overdone - but when identified with the server quickly into our first bites... he quickly fixed the problem and was happy to ensure we would enjoy our meals to full satisfaction. Within 5 minutes a new Halibut cooked to perfection was presented. The issue was dealt with efficiency and the upmost professionalism reminiscent of some of the best restaurants world-wide. The wine paired with the meal was outstanding. Atmosphere was modern and minimalist - the scenery overlooking the lake was more than anyone could ask for on a perfect summer evening. A huge thanks to the kitchen and service staff for a lovely evening. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. We will definitely be back AGAIN!
Delicious food and wine with a breathtaking view
Fantastic experience, my husband took me there for our 19th anniversary. The place is beautiful, cozy and romantic. The food was amazing and the service excellent. 100% recommended.
Just popped in for some quick wine sampling but stayed to gaze around the stunning property! It would be perfect for a wedding as there are areas to lounge and mingle, and the space for dinner is stunning with huge glass windows looking over Okanagan Lake. The service was friendly and laid back, and they provided us with lots of information about the wines we were drinking. They even sell wine flavoured candles!
We enjoyed our tasting at the 50th & joined the wine club. A special shout out to both Susan & Hannah for their excellent knowledge, friendliness & service.
Jill was our waitress, didn't skip a beat. Great food amazing service!
You gotta eat here! Their wines are amazing and the food is out of this world so pair it with their amazing hospitality and you are on Cloud 9!
The lunch experience was one of the best we have ever had! We had chicken wings, salad, mushroom soup and chicken sandwich. All taste AMAZING, and the portion is very generous! The restaurant building is classy and very clean. With all the great food in the modern spot, the prices are very reasonable! Block One restaurant is a MUST TRY! I wish we could have the branch of this great place in Calgary!
Really just perfect. Cannot say anything bad about it. Great service. Great, unique, delicious quality gourmet dishes. Gorgeous setting and atmosphere. Amazing value for the price.
Have been a couple of times this year. The atmosphere is amazing, view is amazing, service is amazing and food is some of the best in the Okanagan. Highly recommend!
Only 2 stars because we asked for a Salmon dinner (from the menu) and got lake Trout. The waitress was confused why we did want the trout. After that they tried to make things better by serving us a Pino Noir as a Port! Nice view from the table!
Top Notch food, wine, staff and atmosphere make this a must stop on your wine adventures. Great views and an overall 5 Star rating!
Absurdly good. Always amazing service. Stunning views. An absolute must try experience in the Okanagan.
Fantastic meal and view. Service was great
Unbelievable winery lunch experience. The architecture and style of the winery is unique and is a showstopper. The winery offers beautiful views. The tasting experience was lovely. After the tasting we stopped by the restaurant for lunch and that is where the real magic of this place happens! First off, our server was fantastic, he made the dining experience so much better! I wish I knew his name to give him a proper shout out, but we stopped in Friday October 11 for lunch and the gentleman who was serving was incredible. He walked us through the menu, offered great recommendations, and even better wine pairing suggestions. The food was incredible. The octopus and chorizo was one of the beat starters I’ve had in awhile. We ordered the feature wood fired pizza which also did not disappoint. The dining room is beautiful and offered wonderful panoramic views through the large windows. Perfection!
Went here for lunch and although it was smokey from all the forest fires I still had a wonderful experience. The staff are courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The food is delicious and the wine is even better, I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a new wine experience!
Visited the winery & restaurant in July 2020, and had an amazing experience. It was my partners birthday and I surprised him with a stop in Lake Country for a night at a unique AirBNB that recommended Block One for dinner. It couldn't have been more perfect - not only was the view amazing, the food and wine delicious, but our lovely server, Olivia, was a highlight of the experience, sharing her knowledge, humour and kindness the whole evening. We're already looking forward to returning the next time we're in the area!
Wagyu burger was awesome, one of the best burgers I've ever had. Service was a bit slow though, 5 stars for food 4 for service
Lovely wines in a beautiful setting
Had a great dining experience tonight. We were 30 min late for our reservation, and rather than cancelling our reso, the staff went way out of their way to accommodate us. (We want to make sure that their accommodations didn’t go unnoticed.) The meal was amazing, Jenny our server was over the top amazing, fun and overall we a great experience. This is my third time to the restaurant and my friends are always impressed with the meal here.
Beautiful location with stunning views. An impressive new building and restaurant. Happy hour deals are worth it, but food and per glass wine is quite pricey normally.
Great staff and wonderful food will be back for sure
Wonderful experience ☺️
Always great
Nice wine! We ordered rose and loved it. Nice view here ! The one star is for the wine and the view view. But the food was so disappointing! We ordered chicken wings and lamb. The chicken wings were red and under cooked meanwhile the lamb was burnt. The sauce was salty and plain. Not recommended for dining here.
Fantastic food with awesome quality and very interesting flavours!
New kid on the block. Big expansion plans coming up. Gives off a sophisticated vibe and upscale as well if that is what you are seeking. Great service, attentive, mature.
Beautiful winery. High quality tasting and dining experience and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Went for wedding it was a great facility for it and will talk about it for some time I'm sure
Good menu. Really enjoyed Rose (not usually my wine). High prices but food worth it. Really appreciated covid precautions taken.
Amazing food, stunning views, great wine!!
Some of the best food my husband and I have had in the Okanagan. The wine is delicious as well, we bought 3 bottles. Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone visiting the area, it is absolutely beautiful.
Incredible experience every time i visit. You can really see the vision of what they're creating. Very special. It's fast becoming my fav spot. Looking forward to bringing guests over the holidays. Well Done!
The staff was so helpful with the menu. Since we were visting from out of town we appreciated the tips and suggestions they provided us. The food was AMAZING and I would definitely recommend it.
Probably the best service I've had. Food and wine great
Excellent winery
What a beautiful setting for an above and beyond meal in wine country. The view was perfectly paired with first class dining. Will definitely recommend this new restaurant.
Chef Kai is creative and shows his mastery of the culinary arts. Well balanced seasoning with acidity in harmony with fresh quality ingredients show through as an experience you won’t forget. Don’t miss the food and wine parings are gold medal worthy….
My wife and I ate at the new Block One restaurant last night and ... Wow! The service was incredible and on top of that the wine was delicious and the food was AMAZING! If we were staying in the area longer it would have become our go to spot for the entire trip. Please do yourself a favour and visit this place for a wine tasting and lunch/dinner!
Great road trip to there,Beautiful architecture, nice staff and great food.
View is amazing, food is okay.
The food was very good. Loved the Cauliflower appetizer. Crab Cakes, Gnocchi & Halibut were excellent. Our table next to the reception desk was distracting. We were early for our reservation and although there were empty tables, we were not offered the option to be seated earlier.
50th Parallel Estate Winery is a place you don't want to miss! Susan took my fiance and I through a beautiful tasting of their offerings, sampling nearly their entire wine list and having a few good laughs. Their Pinot Noir is exceptional, the best we have ever had, needless to say we went all in and bought too many bottles and joined the wine club... I am now working a second shift to cover our expenses, thanks, Susan...
Great spot near the lake for a romantic dinner. We went at sunset and it was spectacular. Oh, and the food and wine are pretty good too! Definitely a must visit if you're in the area.
Stunning views and great wine. Renos happening. New outdoor restaurant opening May 17, 2018.
We arrived in a rather large group to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. We were delayed about a half hour from our original reservation but that have us a chance to take some photos in front of their beautiful architectural looker of a building. Since our large group did not arrive on time anyways, we didn't mind the wait. But the hostess was kind enough to serve us some complimentary wine for our troubles. Mark was an amazing server for us even during the covid 19 restrictions, accommodating our many requests with enthusiasm and making our evening so special for us. Our entire group truly enjoyed his presence. All the dishes we ordered were great, but the standout was the lamb, served as a rack and like a pork belly. I don't normally prefer lamb but even I had to admit that was the best dish of our selection. If you have room at the end of the night, the panna cotta is worth trying out. 10/10, would highly recommend a visit. Compared to our dinner at Quail's Gate a few nights before, this was so much better.
Every moment of my visit exceeded expectations. The service is exceptional and the food is better than I could have imagined. The estate is very welcoming and does not have that pretentious vibe whatsoever. I'll be back
Enjoyed the tastings and will further enjoy our purchases done the road.
Wonderful place to go, they treat you like royalty. Dinner was amazing, wine was very good and cold with chilled glasses!
So the food was pretty good! Better than your typical restaurant. Enjoyable experience. I'm not a drinker, but some of the feedback from our group was that they needed palette cleansers between the tastings and they needed new glasses for each new wine. However, where this place totally shined for me was that, because I'm not a drinker, they made custom mock tails to pair with each dish. I've never experienced anything like this at a Winery or restaurant before. This made the place stand out! I would recommend.
Beautiful venue for a wedding. Great lighting and atmosphere. The wine is good too.
This was a beautiful spot for a wedding that easily portrayed an upscale demeanour. The views of the vineyard & lake while we ate & danced added to that effect. Perfect for when you want to dress up & have somewhere to go. I appreciated the little details of serving appetizer samples during cocktail hour & the cliché of children playing & laughing, completed the scene. Its simple. The beef was decent, nothing more nothing less - a bit fatty. I liked these wines. & even more I liked being waited on. As for wine touring in the Okanagan, I would be sure to include @50thparallelwine on the list.
A lovely location with a beautiful aesthetic, soaring lines and high ceilings, glass and modern architecture, all nestled into the vineyard on the hillside overlooking Okanagan Lake. Worth a drive from Vernon or Lake Country for a visit. Staff are well informed and professional, and the kitchen is clean and classy. I hear the wine is good too ;)
Awesome evening starting with a quick wine tasting. Block One for dinner was exceptional. Mackenzie was simply awesome! Great atmosphere and the property is gorgeous.
Amazing. The location, food and the view. Love it.
Absolutely fantastic. Amazing food and service. Thx to Erica and Mark.
Simply the best winery in the Okanagan. We had the pleasure of having our private wine club tasting with Travis. His knowledge of not only the 50th parallel wines but wine in generally is amazing. Thanks for the amazing experience.
50th Parallel Winery is located in Lake Country in the Okanagan Valley, just outside of Kelowna. Stunning view of the Vineyard and Okanagan Lake. Large & modern Tasting Room and Wine Shop. Tasting room staff are friendly and engaging. Block One Restaurant is just outside the Tasting Room. I didn’t eat there but it was busy. The winery has a opulent outdoor patio with a water feature and upper deck for events.
Always such a great dining experience. Fabulous food, good service and amazing wine!
Amazing Pinot Noir! Chardonnay and Pinot Gris are also superb. Gorgeous architecture. One of the best vineyards to visit!
Beautiful estate, great food, wonderful service, fantastic wine!
An absolutely beautiful vineyard, restaurant, and event space! My favorite wine ever is the Chardonnay, but the rose and exciting Pino Noirs are also amazing. If you're on a wine tour, definitely stop here for the great wine and the best views. You can snap a few pictures while you have a sip of their welcome wine. Then, for the tasting, you can choose between a $5 one or a $10. The tasting fee is waived with the purchase of a bottle. Bottles range from $17 to $85ish. We almost booked our wedding here as well - they have an amazing infinity pad above the restaurant where you can have your ceremony. And there are lots of choices for the reception!
Deliciously well prepared fresh ingredients; flavourful and visually stunning! I ordered the beef tartare for the appetizer and the halibut with morel mushrooms entree. Amazing!
This up and coming winery doesn't get enough credit! Gotta check this out, especially near sunset with a glass of wine and a few appies.
Love this place
Excellent meal!
Amazing place, the atmosphere is incredible and the wine was amazing!
Delicious brunch. Great cinnamon pancakes!
The building and location are stunning. Modern, comfortable, flexible even in the searing heat. Service was solid. However, the prices are high for portions that were not substantial enough to fill us up for lunch. Very little tuna in the poke bowls. Tacos were meagre. Coffee was cold. I was truly hoping that the dining experience would be on par with the service and surroundings. Food looked and tasted good, but our party of four should not have left hungry.
Very nice buildings, local owners and a full service restaurant, that is a best kept secret. The new Block One Restaurant is a full service restaurant and travelling from Sparkling Hill, we could have planned better if we had known, this restaurant existed, by searching, restaurants near me, but didn't show-up. Also Visa Infinite, was a nice touch, and we'll be back because of that. Thanks ....
Restaurant ambiance was phenomenal. The food was amazing . The manager was expectational. However we were told that we could 45 mins prior to our dinner reservations. Our reservations were for 7.45, we were told to come for 6.30 wine tasting . However ok arrival we were told that wine tasting ends at 6pm..this needs to be communicated
Such a cool layout and super trendy. The view is amazing and food /drinks were fabulous !
Came here for my birthday on this weekend and had an absolutely amazing experience. Food - Everything was delicious, we had the duck wings, wagyu and salmon. There’s some asian flavors, I would say its fusion food. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. Atmosphere - Beautiful outdoor patio. It is fully covered so don’t need to worry about rain. There is cold mist blowing - thank god for this as it was super dry and hot throughout the week especially with the wildfires in the area. Their patio is super fancy - the sun was beating down on us halfway and there are shades they can lower to whatever height we want!!! Service - The restaurant was very kind, knowing it was my birthday they brought me a birthday to start. It was a very busy night and I could see our waitress flying between tables. The restaurant is very lucky to have her because she was super fast and smart. The weather was exceptionally hot and I felt a bit dehydrated halfway through the meal, so I shared this with our waitress when ordering dessert. I really wanted something cold and refreshing, but unfortunately the dessert menu items could not be modified for my allergies, but she was very quick and smart and said she could bring me a sorbet separately. Excellent service. Thanks for making my birthday very special.
Amazing place! And the view is to die for!
(Translated) Very good tasting of white wines. The place is very beautiful with a beautiful view. Delicious meal. Nice visit. (Original) Très bonne dégustation de vins blancs. Le lieu est très beau avec une très belle vue. Repas délicieux. Belle visite.
Great views !!!
I booked for a tasting with two friends. It seemed very mechanical of an experience from the onset but we were happy to be there and try it. We were offered the option of two tastingd at different pricings. As there were no parameters provided or an explanation, we thought we would try both. Before the last wine was poured our server changed to who I suspect was the manager. He took over and we asked if we could try the second tasting. Instead of stating a rule such as it was a choice of one or the other, not both, I was lectured on the amount of alcohol that would be and that "others" might offer it but he wouldn't and he's not comfortable. The lecture seemed to continue but I wasn't clear on what I was being told and didn't understand. He did offer to let me try one more we had discussed earlier but I was a bit stunned and just wanted to leave, quickly. I've now tried 50th parallel, I can offer that there are better wineries in the area with friendlier staff and you'll have a much better experience, like I had, at any one of them.
Breathtaking building, great people, amazing food and delicious wine ! 10 outa 10 recommend
Excellent food and service. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience and the food was equally special.
Great location but pricey for what you get.
Very nice winery. Out of the way, but worth the drive
Saw this winery on a tour last summer and vowed to be back to check out the restaurant. Well worth the trip from Kelowna out to 50th Parallel. If you're heading from Kelowna, take Highway 97 (as least if it's still summer 2019). The construction in Winfield at the end of Glenmore Road almost doubled our travel time. When we arrived they were hosting a wedding but you would have not known based on our wait time. Service was great, wait time was reasonable and the atmosphere is beautiful. A super spot to take visiting guests or check out if you're a local. Our son and his girlfriend tried the wood fired oven pizza and I thought next time I'll skip the lamb and grab a pizza! Incredible.
Excellent.
Beautiful location, stunning building design and fantastic wine!!! Recently I’ve tried the restaurant, it was amazing and I will definitely be returning!
Not bad. Half of the items on the menu wasn't available so they were substituted with something equivalent. Got the scallops to start with Arctic char and duck breast. Good good, but wasn't overly creative in the way they were prepared. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal.
Beyond impressed by this winery from it's beautiful aesthetic to its unique and delicious restaurant. the service was great. I highly recommend this winery for anyone looking to taste higher end wine. the Restaurant is really good I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and was truly really impressed.
What a beautiful modern space. Newly built and their patio for the restaurant is insanely modern and spacious. I wish we had lunch their because it reminded me so much of LA and just full of class. The wines were decent, I enjoyed our server's expertise and friendliness.
Amazing venue. The view is spectacular, the staff is amazing. Great winery.
Delicious food and rosé. Will be back!
What a great experience! Started off with the glamour farming salad and scallops, had the lamb sirloin and duck breast for mains, and shared a banana+chocolate for dessert. Along with the wine pairings it made for a perfectly portioned and absolutely delicious meal. We will be back!
Unfortunately zero stars are not optional. We booked through Open Table a pet friendly table for Friday afternoon 5 days ago. 60 minutes before arrival a voicemail was left, that there was no dog friendly table without any explanation. Because we were driving we spotted the voicemail just before arrival. When we arrived and asked for our table we were told it was not available due to having issues with staff and that they even called hours ago. The manager was lying about this and she offered that we could leave our dog outside on the grass in the middle of the sun (24 degrees without clouds). The staffing issue is apparently an issue for more than a month, but they still offer the pet friendly table on Open Table knowing that they can't deliver. That an issue can arise is something that can obviously happen, but that you don't offer a proper solution when working in the service industry and even lie in my face about it, is extremely disappointing. She was arrogant and rude. A restaurant that promises to deliver a great dining experience, does not offer a great customer service experience. Clearly this duty manager needs to go back to school and follow some classes in hospitality and customer service.
Excellent service, great food.. .at last culture and style in the Okanagan!
Wine tasting was excellent. Location and view, also excellent. Honestly was fairly disappointed by the restaurant though. Service was very slow.. all of our food arrived luke warm, almost cold. We were given “fresh” items which were literally just re heated again. Giving 3 stars instead of two because the management was friendly and accommodating.
Had a mini tour of the vineyard, production facility, and tasting room last week. It was very easy to book online. The winery followed social distancing policies. Travis was passionate and energetic and made the tour an absolute delight!
Very nice
Jessica and I were married last night at 50th Parralel Estate Winery. As we sit today and reminisce about our day and evening, it’s hard to put into words how impressed we were with the venue, service and overall value. We would not change a thing. The venue is unparalleled. We were married at their “infinity pad” which overlooks vineyards and has breathtaking lake and valley views. We elected not to use a microphone and the acoustics carried really well allowing all of our guests to easily listen along. We overheard a lot of our guests raving about the infinity pad, and we hadn’t even gone down to 50th’s crush pad (cocktails and canapés, post ceremony), event center (speeches and dinner) or tank hall (dance) yet! The event centre is exceptional. The grandeur and architexture of the room really set the tone of the evening. We loved it. 50th’s in house event-planner, Dore Blaise recommended using their tank hall for the band and the dance floor. We originally didn’t think we needed the tank hall, but followed Dore’s advise. It turned out to be our favorite room of the night. We were allowed to enter the dinner through the tank hall’s oversized double door’s and into the event center. Apparently it was quite the site! After dinner we shut the main bar down and they set up a secondary bar in the tank hall that entice people to get out and dance. It worked out seamlessly. We encourage people to rent the tank hall and have them string up the Edison lights. Big thanks to the owners, Sheri-Lee and Curtis, who personally took Jess and I around the venue and provided an outstanding day. Their attention to detail is unmatched. Also, thank you to Dore, who was both patient and an invaluable source of information for us. Thanks to Kai and his kitchen and serving staff, who served an incredible meal and kept our timing right on track. Lastly, thanks to James, their hospitality manager who was invaluable in making our evening come together and catered to our every need. Hands down: 5+stars.
Yummy wine...great location...love the view
Beautiful setting and incredible architecture. Fiancé and I were hoping to talk to someone about weddings were told there was no one on sight to talk to. I guess we should have called a head. The wines I tried didn’t blow me away aside from the Chardonnay which was fantastic!
Did the 1-hour tour of the winery with Travis. Super knowledgeable and interesting - knowing quite a bit about distilling I wasn't expecting to learn much from the tour, but was blown away by his tour! Delicious wine and beautiful winery as well. All in all: experience worth way over 35$.
Great wine. Need I say more?
Had lunch on a sunny day recently. The view (of course!) was beautiful and the space is modern -- made me imagine what this space would be like transplanted in a city for dinner. The service was slow, even though the place was almost empty. Our food and wine were lovely (definitely recommend the beet salad), although the seafood risotto was disappointing. Not very much seafood, and the portion was appetizer-sized; definitely not a main. For the price and listing as a main, an extra wooden spoonful would have been great.
Oh it was wonderful! My husband and i went there for lunch today, it was our wedding anniversary, the food and service was marvelous!
Hands down the best winery in the area! We visited a few wineries that day on a tour, and 50th Parallel was our best experience by a long shot. When we showed up, someone greeted us promptly and directed us to our tasting. This may seem like a small detail but the other wineries that day felt a bit chaotic, making our experience less enjoyable. Our tasting was at the bar and the lady who poured for us was beyond professional. She was knowledgeable with all the wines and didn't sound like she was reading off a script. She made the experience fun and entertaining, I would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Also I thought I should note they are being extra careful with Covid protocols, we felt extremely safe in our small group with space to move around without getting too close to others. We had dinner at the restaurant here, which was beyond amazing. If you're going to go all out and order the good stuff this is your place! The chef does an impeccable job with the food, I wanted to order everything off the menu. Our server was great too, he seemed to know exactly when we needed him to be around but wasn't around too much, a magical art if you ask me. I could write a novel about how amazing this place is, if you're in the area you MUST go here! If you don't you're silly and missing out. We will be back soon, thank you to the staff at 50th Parallel for the exceptional experience!
Between the ambiance, the staff, the wine and the food I was blown away by our evening here! We will for sure go back. The chef accommodated to all of my dietary needs, it was PERFECT!
Wonderful facility - great location - fantastic food and even better service. Justin was amazing and so knowledgeable! Hope to be back soon!
Well worth the drive. Super friendly staff, they showed a passion for their wines and have knowledge about not just the wines but the history of the grapes! Very interesting experience as you also are able to see all the wine processing gear. I'm excited for the restaurant to be finished. As the possibility with their wines will be delightful.
Cool place. Great wine and great vibe
This past summer, I had gone wine tasting and went to many vineyards - their Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir Rosé really stood out! Incredibly smooth and well made. Amazing price for such high quality wines. I then ordered these wines online and their customer service team is excellent. I had two separate reps reach out to than me/follow up. An added bonus - the actual vineyard and tasting room is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen - its sleek and modern but still feels comfortable. Really an amazing space.
Great experience, wonderful lunch, a must try when in the area.
Always a pleasure to be at 50th. Great place, great vibe, good people, fab wines.
The friendly staff in the beautiful new tasting room started well the experience. The wines were elegant and balanced. IMO one of the best chardonnay of the valley. We had big expectations with the opening of Block One and we did enjoy every minute there. Amazing food and wines at a fare price. Friendly and fast service. Superb view and architecture. Recommended!
I don’t understand how this place has so many positive reviews. The wagyu steak came out cold and I am skeptical it was even wagyu beef (it was not marbled and very chewy). The scallops were tiny and overcooked. Not a good experience, I would never go back
We just happen to drive by and drop in, but we were amazed by the service. We don't know anything about wine, but our awesome server Mandy explained the different types of wine and even stuck around after we paid to break things down for us. Very appreciative for her help!
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting tour with Travis! He is extremely personable and knowledgeable about the art of wine making, in addition to the history of 50th Parallel. We would highly recommend for a lovely time and great wine!
I came here for my bachelorette dinner with my friends. Our first impression of the restaurant was "WOW" the restaurant was very modern with the most beautiful view. Initially, we thought that the view would be the highlight of the restaurant but we were wrong. The staff were definitely the highlight of the entire experience. Everyone was extremely kind, welcoming and just amazing especially our server, Rose. She went above and beyond providing an experience that we'll remember forever. We loved her so much that we had to sing her praises to the owner, Curtis who was nothing short of nice, genuine and very cool. We could tell that the staff really love their job and that the owners treat the staff like family. That's rare to see in such a beautiful, upscale. You can tell they only hire the best of the best. What a bunch of gems! Forgot to mention but the food was spectacular especially the lamb. That BBQ is amazing. I can honestly drink a whole bottle of that. They need to package that sauce! Their wine was also wonderful and this is coming from a girl who doesn't drink. I really enjoyed the riesling. Big thanks to the amazing team at 50th Parallel Estate and Block One <3
The staff were rude and we were rushed through, group of 6 , server poured the wine said like two words and then ran off to other groups. 5 wines using the same glass, not even rinsing between pours. Absolutely the worst wine tasting I’ve ever had. Zero stars would be more appropriate
Awesome winery and restaurant. Food is excellent and the service is better...a must on your bucket list
A New Years experience to remember. Mark our server was delightful and knowledgeable, we felt comfortable and left full. The food was perfection and the wine pairings delicious
We went here for our anniversary. Stated with scallops and crabcakes, had wagyu and chicken for main, and semi fredo and a smore dessert. the appetizers were both absolutely delicious, you should definitely bring back the full portion of crispy pork belly (it's so hard to find!). The chicken and gnocci was easily the best meal I have had in a very long time, I'll remember it for years to come. The wagyu was good but slightly chewy. The smore desert was delicious, semi fredo was also yummy (they were all out of the cheesecake to try). As for wines, also delicious. Service was amazing. We will definitely come back with the next menu change.
You need to eat here!
Amazing place with friendly and attentive staff. Loved all their wines.
Recently stopped here on a wine tour with our daughter and her fiancé to celebrate their upcoming wedding. We had the tasting in their newly opened tasting room. What a building, what a view and what great wines. We had the pleasure of having Shae-lynn as our host. She was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant this time but we will be back soon to complete the experience. Well worth the stop when in the Kelowna area.
Service and ambiance was great, but every entree on the menu was bland and flavorless. "Roasted" chicken breast was not roasted as the menu said, but sous vide instead (boiled)
Beautiful place . Very good wine and wine tasting!
a must. a gorgeous spot and so yummy
Sunday brunch was awesome, the wine was delicious, I even bought myself a bottle of the 2016 Pinot Noir. The guy from belfast was our server he was a gentle man, so pleasant and personable. And it was lovely to have the Chef from Co.Kerry. in Ireland to come and have a chat with us. It was almost like we were back home in Ireland again. Thanks for the exceptional experience. The Okanagan is our favourite place and we will for sure be back to the 50th Parallel Estate.
Delicious food - great atmosphere and classy staff.
Great meal. Great atmosphere. Our waitress Olivia was fantastic. I highly recommend the Sterling Chicken and a table in her section of the restaurant!
Great wine, but the service left something to be desired. Very impersonable and rude, more concerned about accommodating the numbers VS satisfying the actual customers. I wouldn’t recommend going without a reso. Or just go for the wine and get outta there!
Good wine and good food. Loved it
Excellent building great service at the wine tasting bar everyone seemed to be having a fun time there.
Went a week ago Friday for a tasting and then for dinner at BLOCK ONE Restaurant - it was our first time there and we were treated like royalty. Travis gave us a premium tasting and every wine was delicious. He is a wine encyclopedia - he kindly answered all our questions and did not exhibit any snobbery. We were so impressed we bought a membership in the wine club. Then off to the restaurant for a fabulous dinner. The service we received from Conor was exceptional. He is so personable and knowledgable and gave us excellent wine and food recommendations. Compliments to the chef - we were bowled over by sablefish. What a fabulous time we had. And what a view. Doesn't get better than this.
I couldn't rate the restaurant for its food as we went for happy hour and it ends at 5pm. That is the silliest thing I've ever heard! Hopefully they change it to 6pm so all the working class people ca give it a try.
Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary there...the meal and service was outstanding a shout out to Jen..who acknowledged the fact and made the evening that much more special
Staff was friendly. All the wine were behind the counter. "Complimentary" wine tasting if you also buy the wine from them.
This has to be the best overall experience in the Okanagan! The food is incredible, the setting is stunning and the service is second to none. My wife and I recently dined here on our honeymoon and Heather and Mandy went above and beyond to make it a night to remember. The hype is real with this spot.
too far from other wineries
We came searching for their Pinot Gris and discovered a gem. An unexpectedly gorgeous location and the restaurant experience was incredible. Service was genuinely outstanding, the food was amazing and represented the best of the region. Super experience.
Absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous view of Lake Okanagan and an incredible ambiance. The hostess and servers are exceptional the menu features local farm to table produce and the food is phenomenal. This is a definite go to and a must if you're touring the wine region in Kelowna.
Best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had. The crab cakes were delicious and so was the fish, muscles and shrimp appetizer. Worth the drive!
We were here for a wedding and it was amazing! The few from the ceremony was to die for. The wine was fantastic and the owners were there to make sure everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue as well just stopping by for lunch or dinner as the food was amazing.
Ate on their patio recently and it was excellent. The tables were properly spaced apart, hand sanitizer at the door, single room bathrooms and the service was excellent. We heard this place was really tasty etc. It exceeded our expectations. Our waitress was always on it, professional and friendly. Highly recommend. You can tell the chefs are 5 star, professional chefs and excellent presentation. Thanks guys!
Another wonderful evening at Block One restaurant at 50th Parallel. They have a large dining room with wide spacing between the tables so we feel safe dining here during the pandemic. The food, service, and wine were excellent. Our favourite restaurant in the Okanagan. And a top tier winery.
Best winery in all of Lake Country! Food and service were amazing! Heather was such a great hostess! 5 stars! Thank you for the great experience!
Great location. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Good selection of good tasting wines, especially the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The restaurant is worth a visit but you will to reserve at least a day ahead to get your preferred time.
Good restaurant and views
First of all they sat us at a very uncomfortable table . Next they just changed the menu and there was nothing on it that was looked appetizing .no pizza which was disappointing! Ordered crab cakes and they were burnt .
The tasting room is very busy but worth it to samplevtede wonderful cool climate wines, in a wonderful setting......then travel next door fir the foid at the Block One restaurant....Cheers!
I did not enjoy this winery at all. The wines themselves were not great. And the feel is quite pretentious. We left quickly.
Great food and service in beautiful setting. Wine pairings were wonderful.
(Translated) Pleasant wine tasting. The general atmosphere is good and the place is beautiful. On the other hand, the reception is completely void without explanation of the prices and what it is offered. The staff do not give the impression that they like their jobs. What ruins the experience. We are 2 young students so the impression we have left is that they were wasting their time with us. Disappointing.
Wow
We had our beautiful wedding here on July 13, 3019. Sherri-Lee and Curtis (the owners) were dedicated to making sure we were beyond happy and cared for. They were there the day of to greet us and ensure everything went perfectly. They are truly passionate about their winery and those who celebrate within it. The food at our wedding was Michelin star worthy!! Our guests to this day still comment on how amazing it was. Chef Kai is beyond talented and we were blessed to have him for our biggest day. Everything was perfect, which is hard to do with a large wedding. I highly recommend this winery for a date night at the Block one restaurant and to any couples looking for their dream wedding venue. We cannot thank the entire 50th Parallel Estate Winery team enough for making our day absolutely perfect. -xo Steph & Jason Short
We had a very nice tour of the property getting the history behind the winery and the proprietors passion for wine. The site is exceptional with stunning views of the lake from multiple locations along the rolling hills. The building offers a modern chic architecture with various area to host venues. Excellent wine including a nicely executed Chardonnay with a hint of oak and nice buttery finish and a well rounded Pinot Noir with a nice overall body. Great food from the kitchen which offers a perfectly done halibut with quinoa corn side and a great stuff who are definately looking to pleased the customer.
excellent whites wonderful food. My only complaint might be that the service was slow. But too be honest the care in their food is likely the reason.
The food was excellent and the service was attentive, however my wife objected to being referred to as “love,” “hon” and “dear” by our waiter. No terms of endearment were applied to the younger lady at our table.
Amazing atmosphere, fantastic food, wonderful service! Loved our evening!
Great spot to have a burger and a bottle of wine. Staff ate exceptional
Amazing food, great service, patio on point. Would 100% recommend. We stayed at a very popular resort and the food was terrible so we decided to venture out found 50th parallel and we were more then happy. Thank you for helping salvage our trip!
Just left you winery. Had a reservation for a tasting at 3pm. It would have been our first time there, and it is my birthday. We checked in 5 minutes early and waited 15 minutes outside before going in. We then waited an additional 10 minutes without even a hello from anyone. There were 4 servers and 6 small partes of 3 or less. We decided to leave. We love our wine and try to purchase at least a few bottles wherever we go (usually more) I have never left a winery with a worse taste in my mouth.
Great service and recommendations from the staff. Special thanks to our server Mark, for the amazing hospitality!
Excellent food and service. Beautiful setting overlooking the lake.
An amazing experience, our server Alex was very helpful and knowledgable. We had great views, food was perfect and the pairings were on point. Quickly became the perfect night out.
Great wine, horrible service. Showed up with a group of 13, ordered 5 bottles of wine while waiting on food. Was immediately cut-off while given no reason. Had to pull the manager aside just to get a “text-book” response. Extremely uncomfortable atmoshphere and non-welcoming. Dont “treat” yo self here.
An amazing tasting experience, both of their locally produced wines, and Block One restaurant. Put it on your itinerary!
Beautiful winery
Came for happy hour a week ago and the service was amazing. The hostess, I think her name was alisha, was super friendly. Leah was our server at the bar and made great recommendations for food and drinks. Not being a wine drinker, she recommended a cocktail that I loved. The food was brought very quickly and it was delicious. Definitely will be back in the future and will be recommending to friends and family!
Amazing staff! The food and wine are excellent! A must stop if you are in the Okanagan.
Amazing food great service and you must try the crab cakes the best I've ever had - the soup and charcuterie was delicious too
Awesome food and wine!
The ambience, the staff, the management are so courteous and attentive. One of the best experiences at a Vineyard in the Okanagan. Now on to the food....of all the vineyards in the Okanagan this is our favourite. The food is local, fresh and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend the banana and chocolate dessert. We promise, you will not be disappointed in this as your dining experience
Spectacular views and amazing service.. food is phenomenal and the wine is even better.. absolutely put on your wine tour list and be sure to stay for lunch or dinner!
Awful food, decent service. The duck legs tasted like fast food and the fish was over cooked and tasteless. The waitress was great but otherwise absolutely nothing positive about my experience there. Avoid.
Pretty disappointed with this place! Was looking forward to have the tour and tasting only to find out we booked the wrong one...which is fine but the customer service was horrible! Staff serving us cant even fully explain what she was trying to explain, pour the wine then off she goes but the guy across us stayed with his customer! I ask for a bottle of water for my husband as he doesnt drink alcohol but had a warm tap water...yet I paid for 4 guest to have tasting and only 2 people had the tasting...I mean a little tweak on the customer service would have been great. Wine are definitely not worth the price.
The atmosphere and the view outside was amazing. However, the food was nothing spectacular. The server suggested the Wagyu beef on the menu, it's done medium rare. When the dish arrived, it was cooked well medium. Again, nothing extraordinary. The small plate of scallop was disappointing as well. The Pinot noir 2019 was wonderful though.
Beautiful setting, great tastings, top notch spot.
We went here for a family dinner on our last night in Kelowna and talk about ending a trip on a sour note. The food was vile. The fish and scallops were over cooked and tasteless while the ducks legs tasted like they were marinated in cheap sweet and sour sauce. Compared to every other restaurant we went to during our trip, this was by far the worst experience we had. I would never come back
Absolutely delioous everything we had at Block One for dinner! Tomato soup was rich and thick, Dungeness Crab cakes had more crab than potato...indulgent! Tenderloin steak was done to perfection. Best part was the carrot cake taken up a notch. Loved everything and staff were just so personable. Memorable evening...thank you!
Food was phenomenal, service with Shannon was absolutely fantastic. We had let them know we would have our dog with us, so they reserved their pet friendly table for us that was nice and shaded. We were celebrating an anniversary and they surprised us with complimentary glasses of Pinot Grigio. Beautiful views and location, incredible food and top tier service. 10/10
Fantastic food, great service, what's not to like
very good pinot here. Pinot gris has always been solid as well. Restore has great reviews although I have not been.
Had dinner and wine on the holiday weekend. Server was great. Food was so good! I will be buying a case of the Syrah, it was awesome. Can't wait to go back. Did I mention the view?
Fantastic. I struggle to find a fault with their wines, staff, or space. Colin was an absolute treat. He took us through their wines as if talking with old friends and, as he promised, they did not disappoint. We loves the Chardonnay, Unparalleled Pinot Noir, and of course the Pinot Noir Rosé. Their wine club looks great too!
Food, service and environment was excellent. Worth the short drive from Vernon to experience something a little different.
(Translated) Mediocre wine. The staff are as young as this vineyard and really know nothing about it. (Original) Vin mediocre. Le staff est aussi jeune que ce vignoble et n y connaît vraiment rien .
My bros wedding place
Dress nicely, this establishment is classy and friendly. The staff know their wines. After sampling, we had to buy a few bottles.
We had reservations but place was mostly empty. We were placed in back corner (probably should have said something at that point). Heard dogs barking outside...and wouldn't you know it they seated the folks with the dogs right next to us. The waitress should have been proactive and seated the dogs anywhere else in the restaurant. Or perhaps not allow dogs at all in what is aspiring to be an upscale restaurant. We asked to be moved however the experience had already ruined a rather costly outing for us. Note this is a small restaurant located in a tent with little or no lake view.. Also seemed pricey for what you got.
Came for a friends wedding . Very nice place , great veiws .Would recommend for any fuction
Amazing place! Greatest staff ever so Friendly & nice. Food is just unbelievable.
Great food salad was excellent
I had my wedding here in August and it was AMAZING! The food was unbelievable and the venue it stunning! Dore and Chef Kai were awesome to work with. I highly recommend this as a venue. All of our guests loved the views, the food and the wine!
BLOCK ONE was an excellent restaurant in pretty much all regards. The food was excellent from the appetizers all the way through to the deserts. The wine of course is great being from the winery that you can see out of the window. The atmosphere of the restaurant is stunning, overlooking the vineyard that drops down to the lake. The interior of the restaurant is also very modern. f
Great experience!! Conner was amazing. Will be back soon!
Our experience here deserves more than 5 stars. Our server, Rose, was exceptional in her service with her genuine desire to provide an exceptional experience. She made sure to explain and tell us everything on the dish and the backstory of how the establishment came to be. The dishes created by Executive Chef Kai and his team were so delicious and mouth watering. The lamb in particular was phenomenal. My only complaint would be why aren't they selling that sauce by the bottle?! My friends and I would have loaded up on that BBQ sauce. This place is a must see when in Kelowna, not only the view but the menu and service are all top notch! We will be back for sure the next time we are here.
Great atmosphere, food was the best we’ve had amongst all of the wineries we visited. Oh and the wine was very good too!
Service and atmosphere where exceptional. Highly reccomend a visit.
Had a great experience here for our wedding anniversary. The server was very friendly and knowlegable. Far better service than any of the 5 star resort restaurants in the area. The food and the wine was top notch as well. I cant forget the hot sauce, They have the best hot sauce Ive had in a while and its made in house. You MUST try the hot sauce!
Staff was super nice and understanding. We were a little late for our appointment on a busy day. They were still able to accomodate us and we managed to fit another type of tasting in. They also gave us complimentary cheese at checkout after buying a "couple" of bottles. Loved the service and wine!
Great wine, great atmosphere, awesome people. One of my local favorites, worth the drive.
Food was excellent, ambience very good. Despite the cool evening, they have the best installation of temporary heaters and canopies I've seen. Very interesting menu, nice presentation. Gewurztraminer wine was very nice, limited beer menu for suds lovers. Worth the drive and I'd gladly return.
Awesome view food and drinks are delicious.
Beautiful place very friendly staff a great place
We visited the restaurant last night and had a lovely evening. We have not been out to many restaurants during covid and it was a special evening. Service, atmosphere and wine Were great. However, I have two complaints. I ordered the tenderloin dinner for $45 a plate And was given a very small cut of meat hidden in a few green vegetables and 2 small potato Croquettes. I came home hungry. Please put a little more food on the plate for that price! Also when leaving the restaurant we had to Maneuver through a large group of people Waiting to get in. No social distancing!
Meal was delicious, could have had 1 more server.
Wine was great but the staff were all very rude to our group. Definitely does not make me want to come back.
This is review is for Block one!! Not the winery, just want to make that clear. Venue is beautiful, staff is friendly, but the food was sub par. Especially for that price point. I was expecting a little more wow. Based on comparrison to similiar venues close by the food needs to be elevated a bit more.
We went to this place for our wedding anniversary and were severely disappointed the entire time. I’m not some negative Nancy who ever gives restraints reviews but this experience was by far the worst I’ve ever had. We were on a private wine tour and they didn’t have our reservation. We were told we were lucky that they had one spot available for us by the dishwasher... The restraint service was horrible. We were ultimately served the wrong dishes and they “made up” by giving us a free drink: we felt so ripped off spending any money here and would highly recommend going anywhere else. The Mt.boucherie winery in Kelowna was well worth the hour drive for service and food. Go anywhere else but here.
We had an amazing time with our wine tour! We had never experienced a wine tour before and Travis our tour guide made it an incredibly fun day, the wine was great and the atmosphere is amazing, definitely recommend checking this winery out!
Said was dog friendly in the brochure but dogs are not allowed in so couldnt bring the dogs.
Lovely location. Food was fine but very small portions. We came in with a reservation for 12 made a month prior and service was very slow. They did not look too busy. Our bus driver had to come and get us after it took 2hours 20 min. They did not leave us anytime to do a wine tasting, there loss. No time to purchase wine.
I wish I had done the full wine tasting experience here! Instead we just came for dinner but everything was fantastic. We had Mark as our server and he gave us lots of recommendations and wine pairings which ended up being delicious and perfect for the dishes we ordered. He's also very social and made us feel like old friends; it was very clear to me that he's passionate about what he does and excited to be there. Beyond the awesome service, the food and wine was excellent. We ordered the duck wings (amazing), beef tartar (also amazing), sabelfish, and ragu. All was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a great night, we will definitely be back!
Beautiful winery
Lovely experience ! Went too three other winery before this one and 50th parallel took the cake overall.
Amazing
Wonderful winery with a really nice location with a spectacular view and new restaurant, very good selection of wine with nice flavor.
Wine was okay, but some selections were sold out. Scenery is fantastic. Did not have a chance to try the restaurant. I will have to book another visit to get the full experience.
One of the best meals I have had in long time. My wife had the Halibut and I had the Salmon both simple delicious. Although not a desert kind of guy I have never had better. The wine of course was outstanding. Nick was our server and is excellent. So yes I would go back in a heartbeat
Love it spectacular
Four of us stopped by for a wine tasting today. Tara was our tasting guide. She was personable, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, entertaining and a fabulous ambassador for the brand. She went over and above to educate us about the wines at 50th Parallel. Thanks also to Travis, a wine master in his own right.
Awesome wine, amazing food and good service.
Went on a wine tour with haut monde, had such an amazing experience. Blake was our sommelier and was fantastic!!! He was so helpful! And made our birthday celebration
Our experience here was unreal! Service was amazing and the food was on point. Every dish my party ordered was fantastic and honestly what ever you order will be amazing. Shout out to my man Mark who kinda looked like David Lynch, by far the best service I've received in a long. This was my first time doing the winery thing and I loved it!
This place is beyond paradise in Lake Country. It is a easy drive from either Vernon or Kelowna and it will be the best place you will have ate in a while. The building itself is a art piece, the food is amazing, and the wine is truly unique.
My wife and I were visiting from Tucson Az and loved the wine, location, and the food. Cant wait to return ASAP.
This one was just such a well rounded experience. We are value conscious so cost is always compared to what we get in exchange. To start things off , the grounds are just beautiful with a breathtaking views of the Lake Okanagan. Our tasting room facilitator was Spiro. Very knowledgeable, friendly and just a pleasure to learn from. Pleasant surprise was at the checkout as we were advised that our wine tasting was complimentary thanks to our visa infinite privilege card. Then we were off to the restaurant for a culinary delight. We selected wagyu burgers which were just delicious and paired them with their reserve Pino Noir / it was fantastic . The staff are attentive, really conscious of health and it was so reassuring to see well trained crew that was looking after us. I highly recommend a visit.
Absolutely stunning winery, great service, food was outstanding.
What a beautiful place to come and savour the stunning scenery and delicious fare. The fine wine pairings are the cherry on top! The service was excellent, too. We are exciting to have Block One on the block!
Wonderful experience! Great food, great atmosphere, great service! Will definitely come back!
Great food, great service
Amazing staff. We had called in advance to book a lunch and they said it was quiet so we didn’t need a reso. We showed up and they were full. But the staff went above and beyond to squeeze us in. They were way over capacity but felt bad for us. This to me was so kind. We had the crab cakes and they were amazing. Would highly recommend this place for the views and the food and especially the staff (our server was hilarious crystal was her name) We are from Osoyoos and know good wineries and this is one. Highly recommended.
Amazing wine, awesome food !
(Translated) Unfortunately the wines are just ok and the service leaves a lot to be desired…. The tasting room is also way too loud…. (Original) Leider sind die Weine nur so Ok und der Service lässt zu wünschen übrig…. Der Tasting Room ist auch viel zu laut….
Ambience was very good. Two people in our party had your burger and both had stomach cramps thru the night. Not good. Ladies had a combination plate that was excellent n big enough for two to share.
The wine, the food, the view, the people. It was an experience. Loved every minute.
Was on a wine tasting tour recently, led by Travis. Excellent tour with an amazing guide, and very tasty wine
I actually like this place. 3rd visit on this short trip. Reason for the 2 stars: we did a wine tasting which was ok, and then we wanted to go to the restaurant for some drinks and dessert - we were told they had no tables for 5 due to covid and they would not split us into two tables .... the place was less than 50% capacity and we would be done within the hour. Just felt like our business was not wanted for some reason. Coming all the way from England, not a place I would suggest to people based on this visit. Loads of other great wineries in the area so no big deal
Did a wine tasting tour with Travis. Was not interested in wines previously but he made me hyped about the subject. Very interesting presentation, loved it. Super nice and fun.
It was our 41st anniversary. Everything was perfect: the Wine, the starters, the Mains, the Deserts, the View, Even the Weather. Perfect.
