I love to visit places I can't experience when home in the US. This is such a place. On a tip from our hotel staff we came for the Wednesday chicken wings. What a blast we had. Big and boisterous, a good visit for us.

WAS REFERRED HERE BY COMPETITOR HOTEL STAFF FOR TIMELY WING NITE SPECIAL AT THIS LONG-TIME LOCAL LOUNGE...WAS INITIALLY DISAPPOINTED AT HAVING TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES TO PLACE ORDER FOR ONLY ROUND OF WINGS/DRINKS--STAFF APPEARED TO BE TIRED & RUNNING BEHIND. ONE OF 2 BASKETS OF WINGS ORDERED ARRIVED QUITE COOL (CAN WE SPELL S-A-L-M-O-N-E-L-L-A PLEASE...?). WHILE THE REPLACEMENT BASKET ARRIVED SEEMINGLY IN NO TIME AT ALL, THIS LATEST BATCH TASTED EVEN MORE BLAND THAN THE PREVIOUS COLD ONE...WILL HAVE TO TRY POPEYE'S OR PATRONIZE THE NORTHERN INN & STEAKHOUSE AGAIN NEXT TIME...

It's my go to place in Thompson when I want a beer. Cheapest brew in town during happy hour. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is calm. Although it can use a bit of a face-lift on the exterior and interior; it still is the place that many frequent on Friday and Saturday nights.

Head to trappers after work on Wednesday for $5 wings. Cash only though, and the wings could take either 5 mins or an hour once you order so plan accordingly.
