We've got the reviews of people who consume the products of Viewpointe Estate Winery (Winery) around Temiskaming Shores territory (Canada).
Nowadays this firm has a rating of 4.2 over 5 and that score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is quite positive, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the assessment is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they are pleased, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Winery is classified in the category of Winery.
Had a glass of very nice wine while overlooking the ice on Lake Erie on a sunny day in January.
Truly a gem in an otherwise mediocre wine area. In about 10 years, this area will be as good as Niagara is now but it needs some time to mature. Viewpointe on the other hand is one that stands out (So does Pelee, Colio, and Sanson as well as a few others). Their wines are excellent and their food is also quite good from what I've had on their nice patio. My only comment is that they should do something with back area and put some landscaping in as it is very bare. Definitely give this place a try.
Awful Band July 7th 2018 This is a review of the band heard only. Every year the winery has some kind of chuckwagon weekend, but they keep bringing back the same awful band! I live a few streets over and it makes me cringe hearing them play so loud, and often off key. They keep bringing them back year after year.....I hope they bring someone better next year :-/
Excellent locally produced wines
Great view. Awesome Cabernet Franc.
Wonderful service for sure . And of course I bought a bottle of lovely wine .
Great crackers, donation based tastings is a great idea
Wow what an amazing view!
Great pizza! Gorgeous views. Friendly staff. Alas the wine wasn’t anything special.
Great food and friendly awesome staff :)
Great food, great wine.
Service is amazing. Heidi was great when I arrived with my 8 other friends. They were very knowledgeable about all the wines we tried and we will definitely be back. Thanks for everything Heidi!
My friends and I visited Viewpointe July 17. There was a wedding just ending by the time we got there around 3pm. Flights of wine were served in plastic glasses that sat in a flipped paper plate with cut out holes. The servers at the cocktail bar outside had condescending attitudes and allowed customers to wait without acknowledgement. I ordered a large charcuterie board that did not come. I went to the bar after 45 minutes asking for it and I was told they didn't have large charcuterie boards, even though I paid for it already. Instead they offered "two small boards" 4 minutes later two boards were served to our table in plastic take-out containers with frozen cucumbers, frozen grapes and grocery store clearance cheese. I will not be returning and I will be letting people know about my experience here. Very unprofessional.
Great view
Take my review with a grain of salt as the low score might be a one off experience, but my group didnt find any of the wines to be good at all. Perhaps all of our samples were off, but my group of 4 all chose different wines and didnt enjoy any of them. Beyond the wine, however, the service was good and the views definitely made up for it
Beautiful building and awsome view of the lake to sit and sip on a bottle or two. The wine was good and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding wineries and talked positive of all of them. This winery has a large selection of reds and whites but no sweet wines
Wonderful food and great service. Thanks to Heidi for making us feel extra special! I found the food and wine menu very reasonably priced. If you are going with a group I would suggest ordering a few appetizers to share along with your main entree. Our table of five found every dish delicious.
Amazing view and wines
Stopped for lunch and a wine tasting. Fantastic food and drink. 5 star service. 5 star food. 5 star wine. 5 star view. 5 star value.
great food, you could see the islands very clear and calm great way to enjoy a Friday afternoon
GREAT view of Lake Erie! Beautiful venue. Good wine and customer service was awesome! Outside washrooms due to COVID19, but they are always clean.
Great wine, good food, niew view of Lake Erie!! Loved their rosées!!
Very beatiful settings by the Lake Erie shores! Very good fish tacos with their dry Riesling! A very pleasant afternoon by the magnificient Lake Erie!
Outstanding day at the Viewpointe Winery views are great good is awesome!!
We were turned down service because "we don't normally take reservations but we did today and we're all booked up". We tried to make reservations weeks before and we were told we couldn't. It just left a bad taste in my mouth (the wine doesn't though). Beautiful place nonetheless.

Beautiful view, yummy food, good service, good wine.
Can't beat the views on the shores of Lake Erie. A wedding was taking place when we pulled up but we were still able to visit. Tastings are free but donations are recommended.
Best views of all wineries in Essex County.
My first time being here was not the greatest. Our server, Melissa, was very unprofessional with attitude and didn’t sell the experience for us. The other staff were friendly and very inviting however our server could care less and unfortunately ruined the experience all together.
Badly signed off the road. Food, reasonable in price and quality, but served in takeaway boxes! Ordinary Country music piped. Not ideal.
Loved the wine pairings
This place not only offers great wine but excellent views of the lake! It’s the only one located right on the water. The perfect place for an afternoon fun in the sun with good wine, great service and beautiful waterfront views! For anyone sampling wine, there’s a wonderful selection to try and as they don’t charge for samples, I would strongly encourage to donate money to their selected charity and/or to the amazing service the servers provide.
Lovely views of the lake with charming staff. Worth a visit.
December 23, 2012 Viewpointe Estate Winery 2007 Cabernet Franc and BBQ Teriyaki Marinated Steak It's the end of the world as we know it? Chalk this December Solstice 2012 with another doomsday myth in history that have come and gone. While some were in survival mode and implementing bucket lists we were sipping Viewpointe Cabernet Franc 2007 and devouring a juicy steak! A glass of the red and dining with friends...Not a bad way to go at all! Phew...the Mayan apocalypse passed and we happily predict another trip to Viewpoint Winery in the near future! 2007 CABERNET FRANC VQA Aroma: Refined, elegant mocha. Palate: Follows the nose, intense dark cherry fruit & a long lasting finish
Nice winery, on the shore, but too not much to see. "Wine tastings" are actually a purchase of a half-litre carafe, not much opportunity to try a variety.
Stopped by for the view and wine tasting and we are looking forward to next time!! The view is great! Overlooking Lake Erie from a beautiful venue. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable! The wine was the best!!! I think I've found my favorite wine in Essex County! Every tasting was delicious, smooth and just the right sweetness for the kind.
Very disappointed. Do not recommend. Stopped for lunch. Ordered a salad and pizza. Both came in cheap take boxes. And really cheap plastic cultery with one tiny napkin. Salad was ok. Pizza way over done. Only thing that was great was the view. Will not return.
Would love to go on a sunny day. Nice place to spend a few hours.
What a great place to stop and have a glass of wine and enjoy lunch on the patio with an amazing view of Lake Erie. They have a wide selection of reds and whites with one to surely please you taste buds.
Probably the nicest winery in the area, great location pretty good white wines. Had lunch there once was excellent. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars it becomes very chaotic and disorganized in the summer during peak times. Updated to three stars since lunch was pretty bad last time. Fried chicken sandwich was dry and tough. Salad barely had any dressing, the sausage was extremely dry and overcooked. No one in our party of 7 was happy with there meal at all.
Awesome wine. Like the different blends of Cider they have going on. Fun staff, enjoyed the tasting.
Stopped in for lunch. This place has a spectacular view. Last time we were there lunch was fantastic. Forward to now. They are under construction right now so I'm not sure if this is why they have changed how they do things for lunch. THERE IS NO TABLE SERVICE OUTSIDE. Except for delivering water to the table and clean up. My girlfriend and I were quite surprised when we learned we had to stand at the cash register and stare at the limited menu and order and pay for our glass of wine and lunch selection inside. Then we were then told to carry our glass of wine outside and find a table. We both ordered perch and fries. To our surprise it arrived in take out containers. At a winery? We had to wait to get some type of service to ask for ketchup which came in individual packets. There was no asking how the meal was. Not even to ask if we wanted another glass of wine. ( you lost sales there as we would have had more) the perch was good. The fries only so-so. Would we be back..... probably not.
Good service, however, the grounds are barren. There is no atmosphere or landscaping here. Literally no trees, flowers or shrubs and a mishmash of plastic and wood picnic tables (with porta-potties). We tried 4 wines each and none were to our taste. We found the dry rosé and Pinot Grigio to be particularly unpalatable. Clientele seemed on the young side, kind of a party type atmosphere in the weekend - which you may or may not be looking for. They have a great location and lots of opportunity for improvement.
Good wine. Good view. Very full. Limited capacity with entitled people who ignore covid spacing.
Arrived too late for food, but the wine tasting was excellent!
We enjoyed the wine and the excellent service.
We absolutely loved this winery. The food and the customer service was amazing! We visited 2 days in a row and both days were great! The fish tacos are to die for!! Delish!! They welcomed our 4 month old puppy with a water bowl and made us feel so comfortable. The live music was super fun and the scenery made it even more enjoyable! Highly recommend you visit this winery!!
Beautiful property. Great food options and drink options for a nice large spacious patio area with great views of the lake.
The slushie wine was amazing... The view was amazing.. the peach was a bit more tart then the cherry slushie but the peach tasted like a real peach. The flies were a bit annoying but outside was sanatizer and clean.. my only downfall was the port a potty.. it was not nice! Lol go for the boys port a potty ladies! .

One thing that Viewpointe has over all the other wineries is their view - you can't get closer to Lake Erie! I enjoy a sweet wine and although they have a lot of options, none are to my taste. They have a couple varieties of Reisling though which I was happy to see. As many have mentioned before me, I found them to be underserviced and unorganized during my visit. I'll come back for the fries (reasonably priced, large portion, and so good) and maybe a frose!
Great wine, great food. Really like how they let you pick your wines for the wine tasting.
Being on Lake Erie needed to try the local fish tacos, they were delicious. Looks like I'll go back today for another batch of tacos ???? ????
Excellent service, good wine, scenic location, great pizza.
It is so nice to be able attend a local winery again. We sat inside the restaurant with a view of the lake to die for...my husband ordered a beer. we also ordered a sample horderves and I ordered a glass of wine...the waitress brought me a sample to taste first...it was not what I expected so she brought me a sample of my next choice..I ended up preferring the first sample and ordered a glass...the atmosphere was great after being locked down due to Covid...the waitresses were being extremely cautious ensuring no more then 10 people were inside at a time..we watched people order buy their wine and exit...we stayed for two drinks finished our order of food and left...It was special food and service was excellent...I have just decided to retire...this will be a regular stop on our itinerary...looking forward to many more visits...next Oxley winery
Left the line up again today. Empty tables and people have been in line for half an hour already. We were told it would be another 30 min. At least have a place out of the sun for people to be able to sit. Elderly couple in front of us who had already waited a long time left when they heard it was another half hour. There were at least 6 empty tables that people could have sat and waited.
Great View great atmosphere but not enough staff so sad they're working too hard for all the people that wanted enjoy The View.
Wonderful wine, food, view, facilities and people.
Great food and a fastastuc view. Definitely going again!
Awesome food; staff; wine and view Great place to chill with a bestie
Very polite and prompt service Big portion of food Love the lake Erie view
Great service despite the business and fair prices. Love the donate-only for policy charity for the samples
We had our wedding here recently and it did not meet our expectations. I would look elsewhere before booking your wedding with Viewpointe.
Wine and service was absolutely amazing!!!
Such a pleasant visit on a busy Sunday afternoon. The staff is very friendly and the view is wonderful. We will definitely visit again
Beautiful space and views, food is great but wine is like vinegar. Recommended mixed drinks or beer.
Beautiful scenery, fantastic facilities!
Very helpful and friendly. Good value.
Excellent wine, good food made to order on one of Essex Counties largest patios with an 800 ft. view of Lake Erie. You can even order drinks and food by cell phone if you want while driving there or while seated on patio. Now booking wedding events for 2022 and beyond as well as other types of events.
Picnic tables plastic, plastic cups of wine, take out container and plastic utensils. Not an enjoyable atmosphere. Very disappointed. Use to be a very nice place to visit. Only 2 thing that remains the same was the view and the wine. Such a shame. The wine deserves a better atmosphere.
My wife highly recommended viewpointe, having part of her bachelorette there she has always wanted to go back. We went Sunday for our one year anniversary and first family dinner out with our new baby. Great food, wine and their beer was quite tasty!
I have never been so insulted in my life. The service was extremely unprofessional. I was told if my group did not want to listen to the tour then we could leave. Nobody greeted us and told us where to go when we got off our tour bus, we were wandering around without direction. I will never go back. Being a health care professional I will not recommend this winery to my colleagues, customers, patients or friends.
Wine is very good. Food is very good. What happened to a wine glass a plate for your food and wait staff?drinking from a plastic cup eating from a styrofoam container with plastic utensils make it a very dissapointing experience
We bought 2 bottles of wine after enjoying a tasting at this winery. We were sold a different vintage and were told it was even better. Both 2008 Cabernet Merlot bottles couldn’t be enjoyed due to a massive amount of dregs and sediment. A total waste of $40! Not impressed with their “up-sell” tactics.
As the winery name states...an awesome "Viewpoint" of Lake Erie
The view at this winery was OK. I expected far more by reading these reviews. The wine however was absolute garbage and that’s exactly where it ended up! I would not recommend this winery to anyone who has I love for wine and appreciates a good flavor. Check out Cooper’s Hawk winery or Paglione winery absolutely amazing both of them! If you appreciate good wine check them out!
It was busy but didn't experience much service just a quick pour of the wine for a tasting. There were 8 of us , we didn't buy any wine not my favourite , came from Oxley winery where we were given a description of the wine we were tasting.
Ordered a case of wine from them recently and they were incredibly courteous over the phone. The delivery was also incredibly quick too!
Fantastic spot for a quick lunch The pork flatbread was excellent.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at this winery a couple of weeks ago. We did a tasting with Megan, who was very friendly and knowledgeable! The wine was amazing, the view was gorgeous and the charcuterie tray we ordered was perfect!! We will be visiting Viewpoint again next time we are in the area.
Good is amazing
Beautiful, friendly, great wine. Will visit again.
We had a great time at Viewpointe Estate Winery. The frozen sangria was excellent as was the view.
Visited with a group last weekend. Excellent service. Staff and venue adhered to all COVID protocols. Great wine. Great location.
Good wine with a nice view.
Wonderfully relaxing atmosphere coupled with great food and wine. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The one thing that stands out for this winery is that they do not charge for their wine tasting, instead, they request a donation that is 100% donated to a local charity. Bring cash for the wine tasting when you come here as they do not do cash back from Interac purchases.
Good food and wine. Beautiful property, we really enjoyed a leisurely lunch here.
Beautiful view, but : 1. Drinking wine with plastic cups; 2. Paper plates and chip little forks/knifes; 3. No waiters, 4. When we asked the server why plastic caps for wine, she answered: "protecting the environment !!! Pity, Winery in a beautiful place, but disappointed by the service and quality of wine.
The butternut squash is amazing!
Great wine
Carly was delightful. We had so much fun here. Beautiful location. The service and accomodation during covid was beyond. Thank you Paglione.
