Great Coffee. Lovely Venue. Friendly people around the grounds. Thanks Guys

Roger Tomlins

the grounds were lovely- this experience was a xmas gift for some friends.. they will never return there. the food was just awlful over cooked and no taste- the entree was returned as too tough and couldnt even bite into the pork. but honestly what has happened to this place??? i will never recommend this place to a friend or anyone for that matter....... so many beautiful places in the swan valley oakover you need to seriously take a look at what your dishing up..........

nikki sanderson

Great spot will defiantly be back. Our waiter Mitch and Sid in wines made it day along with the food. Paddleboats for the kids plenty of room to run and play

Brad Whitelock

Beautiful food and great wine, highly recommended this place. Staff are so lovely.

Giorgio Rosa

2nd time back here. Beautiful place. Only bad critique is we were not able to get any drinks or even cold water before the wedding ceremony and it was 40° caterering was delish

Be yourself TPWK

Beautiful grounds. Speedy service and good food. Overpriced for the size of the meal. Could do with some healthy options

Shannon Clemente

Lovely food and a great setting. Very relaxed. Paddle boat hire on the lake

Martin Mckay

28Dec2019 : The foods we ordered are really delicious, and the service is excellent.

Debra Horton

Really good place to visit with things for the kids to do while eating.

Marya Mutch

A great place to go with the whole family. Food is great although a little overpriced. Nice lake and beach for kids to run off their energy. I'm deducting one star for the dog we saw running without leash there despite the signs NO DOGS everywhere on the property. We have allergy to dogs in the family so we only go to places where dogs are not allowed.

Angus Norbury

Prompt service, children's meals served first, good value and quality. Ideal for family groups. Recommended

Caryn Ebstein

Excellent venue. Only gripe is it was understaffed so waiting for service took a while. Will go again

Michael Daley

Great meal and chilled wine. Would highly recommend

Worst customer service ever. Made an online reservation on Thursday for Sunday afternoon. On Sunday morning, got an email saying there there is no more availability. Called them up, the only explanation is that they don’t check online reservation until Sunday morning. Thank you a lot Oakover Grounds! If you don’t regularly check your online reservation, don’t enable that function!

WILL P

Nowhere says this venue is not pet friendly and we were rudely told to leave the grounds by management. This was after seeing another couple that was sat down with dogs.

Frank Britton

Sold a $18 bottle of rose for $50. Taste like $5

Darren Excell

Service was great, food fantastic and value for money! Definitely be going back.

carl grigg

I was extremely disappointed with the service at this venue. We came to celebrate a 70th birthday with a large group and had to take our own orders, get our own cutlery and entree plates and bring all of our drinks to the table ourselves making it very difficult to enjoy our lunch. As we made a large booking for a big celebration we expected a little more service from the staff. Additionally we were charged a cake fee for the birthday cake but the staff refused to cut and serve it so we had to do that ourselves too. Very little assistance from staff with everything and average food too.

rodribro

Had been here for the second time now. First time we were turned away because we had our dog, fair enough, no dogs but the lady's attitude towards us unbeknownst of the fact was quite rude. Today we came to look at the market, the very same lady approached us, acted like basil faulty because we haven't booked. She then with the bland expression began to tell us we need to do her a favour and order quick. It wasn't what she said but how it was said and the upmost unwelcome feeling. Shocking customer service skills

Kinsey Hall

Great setting, coffee, wine, lunch.... activities for kids etc

Bmac Avanza

Good food reasonable prices and portion, great service with a rustic atmosphere and kid friendly.

Anna Massey

Family wedding. Beautiful venue and scenery. Tasty food and great service.

Great place, must be honest over rated. I think not enough is done for food an beverages. You have the space outside, but not allowed to order food and eat outside at the tables under the trees. Can only eat inside. This place can do so much better and could have so more customers. Had to drive elsewere where I could enjoy a beer with food and not just beer only.

blake chitty

Walked in to the cellar door to taste and buy some wine but only was no other customers at the counter stood there for over 5 minutes waiting to be served but no one came staff seemed to busy cleaning glasses behind counter so i walked out probably will not be back poor customer service not happy. To your response i should not have to go to to the restaurant to get someone to serve me if i was there for wine tasting how about taking responsibility for the poor service and just apologising not saying i should of done something about it .

Troy Sage

Such a lovely setting and the idea of having two eating venues is great, but I have only given 2 stars for various reasons. We didn't eat inside as we have a toddler and needed to be near the playground. The Smokehouse menu is very limited and while the pizza was ok, the brisket roll and stacked chips were tasteless and cold. The trikes on the lake were great fun but we had to wait ages because there is no system in place to ensure fair use. While this is not entirely the venues fault, I feel they should be stricter about ensuring parents take more responsibility. Most parents were not accompanying their kids as advised and I didn't enjoy having to parent other people's children so that things were fair and everyone got a turn. The market/deli was also underwhelming. That said, the cider was delicious and I love that you can take a picnic blanket and relax beneath the trees. So much potential!

Cathy van Baaren

Very nice grounds for a party! Great kid friendly areas. Very good food. Quick service with super friendly staff.

Jo Fenton

Great place . Although salad took ages to come out. Pizza from smokehouse fab.. toilet issues. No fishing at mo cos no fishibgbrods. But paddle bikes all go

Marco De Bona

The views are fantastic and the food is even better

Mathew Southgate

Great bags of coffee and free coffee with each purchase! Cafe is good however, would like to see more options on the menus; who doesn't offer vegan dishes these days? Outdoor area seems so wasted - it isn't even dog friendly. Overall good, decent cafe. Could be far more improved upon though.

Racheal Kimber

Fast, friendly service. Food, wines and coffee are very nice and tasty. Family friendly outdoor area with a natural playground and lake with water trikes for customers.

Rhonda Barnden

Beautiful place, the food is delicious, we had the platters and they are huge. Drinks are well priced. Definitely going there again.

Cyndy T

Was our first time here (which we are embarrassed about given we live around the corner). It was a busy day but the staff were friendly and accommodating. The lady that served our table was lovely (sorry, I can't remember your name but you had an awesome smile like Rebel Wilson). The lady (manager), was also friendly despite how busy it was! Consider how rude and demanding some people are you certainly rock your job! The food was good. Not the best I have had, but we would certainly come back, especially for those chicken wings. Price wise.. meh.. but it's not a huge menu either.. Only disappointed we had was the kids were keen to have a go on the paddle boats and there was only 1 working... didn't ruin the day.. We will be back...

allan kelman

We were able to get a table without a booking today which was awesome. The food was fantastic as is the atmosphere. The market attached was lovely and I couldn't help but buy some of the arancini to cook at home. The grounds are beautiful my only gripe which is nothing against this beautiful venue is that there was little to no adult supervision on the paddle boats, the parents need to step up and supervise there children and ensure they are safe instead of leaving it up to the other adults. Regardless of that it was a fantastic spot to spend a valentines day lunch and we will definitely be back.

Kelly Sinclair

Disappointing breakfast. Both coffees were very weak - basically warm milk - surprising given they have a dedicated coffee roaster. Pulled pork Benedict was not good, pork didn’t have a bbq flavour at all and not smoked but boiled - overpowered rest of the flavours. My wife enjoyed the paddock breakfast Venue was nice when you could sit on the outside benches, but that doesn’t happen anymore during breakfast, you have to sit inside restaurant.

Signora Ash

Ordered from the smokehouse, Where's the gravy!!! Pizza was horrible cheese tasted like plastic, chips were dry, also Ordered the beef roll, it was disgusting not seasoned and no bloody gravy was dry, like chewing on sand. The 1 star is for the cold beer and nothing more. Disgusting Disgusting.

G G

Great venue in the Swan Valley for an afternoon. Lovely wines tasted and amazing choices from the Chefs selection lunch options for our group. Make time for a paddle boat experience on the lake and a picture with the old truck. Games available for the kids - big or small and a lovely shaded grass area.

Anna

Beautiful food and location in the Swan Valley. Just off Great Northern, it’s a bit of a hidden secret. They make their own award winning wines and craft beers. There is also a huge variety of specialty foods and supplies in their indoor market area. Breakfasts and lunches are amazing and the setting just beautiful. The paddle boats on the lake are a hit with the kids.

robert barry

What a complete waste of time and food service , been before and great , WHAT, in the world would any one put tin plates on the table then serve up your meal on boards . My s almon was so overpowered by onion that I could not eat it and the onion rings the frozen variety , no sweets available at all.A long history of good meals and wines from this gem now gone We left and went to the Whistlers for coffee and cake , so what a loss for Oakovers

Ben Forbes

The atmosphere was fantastic and staff were super friendly. They were able to sit 5 of us down last minute and made special mention that there were likely to be a few food delays given how busy they are. We respected this communication as we longed on their door step. Great food, great family atmosphere, accomodating to group bookings, families with kids and even offer tastings. Would definitely go back.

brendan obrien

The food came out really quickly. Coffee came out almost instantaneously. Picturesque location. Gluten free options available. The only thing that was a bit underwhelming was that there was a separate market operating where wine could not be purchased, so I had to queue up twice. Majority of the experience is lovely though, got to expect queues when going to a touristy location on a Sunday.

Susan Jones

Great location for a very lovely European lunch. Service was great.

Mystic Fpv310

If you are too busy to serve any food to walk in customer, you should better shut your door and serve reserved customer only. The lady manager told us they would be busy till midnight so no food can be served. What a restaurant with prides!! Don’t think its food are really good just went there for its scene. And not going to go back again.

R S

Wow! Could not ask for anything more. Turn up early for breakfast and get a breafast that will blow you away!

FLF Social

Great venue will grassed area and artificial lake. Some good wines and friendly advice. Also has a popular restaurant.

Ben (RaveN)

It was a beautiful little winery, the lady that helped us wine test was not only knowledgable but very humerous too, I think her name was Tes, I would definitely recommend stopping here George

Faye McKnight

Every time we come here we think such a great setting and so good for kids. Then we wait over an hour for food and its almost impossible to order a drink from a waiter. Food quality is good but you need to expect at least 1 hour for your food to arrive. Someone who knows how to run front of house and the kitchen desperately needs to take over NOW!

JandersC

We waited (as per the sign) to be seated but to no avail. Finally asked if we needed help. Service was ridiculously slow and twice a beer was delivered to our table that we hadn't ordered, and then we were charged for it. I was not allowed to order a kids meal even when it was explained to the waitress that I needed a small meal due to illness. Having ordered a now more expensive meal, and unable to finish it, I was not allowed to have a take away even though it was not fish or meat. Won't be going back there again.

Gieselman

Food is so disappointing. I read the reviews, and the replies about the chef getting the feedback. Either this is not happening or you don't believe. Don't feel like coming back.

Kyn Cowper

Visited Oakover for the 1st time and an overall average rating for me. grounds are nice open and spacious with ample parking. We pre booked out meals so didnt wait for food as other reviewers have had to do. Food is nice, but one of the girls paid $35 for a salad with prawns, lol. Not an overly extensive menu but ok for most with some kid options. Schooner of beer is $9, not cheap, and considering so many places currently have $5 pints, on the rich side of pricing. The pale-ale is nice on the palate though. We visited mid week so didnt have the weekend crowd issues to deal with but for me, I wouldnt return. Chairs inside are useless and require replacement, they are uncomfortable. So many better options in the valley, jmho

Steve Loller

$4 for wine tasting...super fun. The sample included about 8ish wines. As someone else wrote, "nice slice of country not far from the city." - Ditto! Staff giving the sampling was very friendly. Well worth $4 !

Anne Geraghty

Disappointing. Fitted us in for breakfast and given a breakfast menu at 11am. Approached the counter to order at 11.03am and was told the kitchen was closed and would have to wait another 20 minutes for the kitchen to open for lunch. Driving out of the driveway by 11.10am. Won't be back. If someone could please contact me that would be appreciated as we we definitely waited at the door and were seated by the hostess (a middle aged lady with long dark hair tied in a pony tail) upon arrival.

Andrew Dann

They really should check out their competition. The beer tasting tray was not comparable in price, quality or quantity. Very pretty grounds. Staff were inexperienced.

Samantha Ellis

Got off to a good start initially . We were 10 people no booking at lunch time. But it was not too busy. Food and drinks all good. Wine well priced. But as it got busier there was obviously not enough floor staff. Plates not cleared. Coffee orders never came. Sadly just needs a good manager and would be great.

Karla Penna

Winery service exceptional Table for 12 on verandah with outlook over lake, very ambient location. Only the Pumpkin and pasta dish were disappointing Bottles of Grenache and Shiraz $22, both beautiful. Definitely recommend.

Teagan Moore

Great spot for a family lunch but waited an hour for food and had to leave. Plenty of excuses few apologies. Waiting an hour for burger and chips and a chicken salad is not acceptable.

Candice Shields

Wine machine was held here, grounds were absolutely amazing. Beautiful area.

Chris Laycock

Booked this place with my family (2 adults, 2 child) for lunch on 4/11/2018 (1.15pm). Experienced the following: 1) Customer service: Service was poor from the outset. There was no one to greet us on initial entry- although there were at least 3 waiters loitering in sight. The waitressing was inconsistent at best- no pleasantries were received. Some were downright rude/brusque. Others were unhelpful/clueless. 2) Food- As other reviewers have mentioned, took AN HOUR for the food to arrive. Excuse was that there were other patrons that they had to serve BEFORE us. Although the food was good- there was no facility to take excess food away. 3) Grounds- only selling point of this place. Nice surroundings that’s safe for kids. Abundance of algae in the pond. Verdict: Has potential but would need to dramatically improve their service (and serving time) for me to visit them again.

Chris Down

delicious food and location! the manager there is incredible and was doing everything all at once. they also have a shop with an extensive range of delicious foods, meats and cheeses. the truffle cheese is incredible would recommend!

Dave Lund

Absolutely brilliant. Great food, good pricing. Mellow atmosphere with the jazz band that was playing. Really a beautiful place????????????????????????????????

Chris Dodson

Very good winery. Great food with good service. Free pedalo's to use while you wait for food!

Stella Lee

I recently used oakover for a group function. They went out of their way to help cater for my requirements (which included opening early on a Sunday) And to ensure we were well looked after (brought us inside with a lovely fire due to terrible weather) They made event organising easy and the event itself enjoyable. Thank you again.

Felicia Hartmann

Today i was very disappointed with the customer service. The minute i walked in the door the lady behind the till was dancing hard out like she had been on the wines and i simply asked where the toilets were and didnt get shown clearly the way. AND to finish it off we got ushered out the carpark with finger sign goodbye by a large black hair lady which isnt making me feel like going back. ....just to add to your BAD REVIEW LIST!!!

Luke Young

Nice location, the weather was great when we were there so was nice to go sit out on the lawn, young one could see the little ducks etc. had lunch here, was okay - salt and pepper squid batter wasn’t really cooked properly, salad was nice. Cold pressed juices are delicious. If I go back again hopefully the food will be better. 4 stars for location

Jerry Cheung

The large grassed area with water bikes is fantastic for kids. Food was as expected for for the price and the service was unexpectedly fast given it was busy.

andrew shields

Good vibe at the Oakover Grounds. Service was good, staff were friendly. It is most unfortunate that the breakfast meal was disappointing. Poached eggs and mushrooms were over cooked. Baby leaf spinach came to us wilted. Hopefully this is a one off.

Deric Weber

Managers are outrageously rude they messed up our booking and called us liars no apology offered. bad food too. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Kevin O'Sullivan

Good pub type food. Great location for large gatherings - busy place but everything worked seamlessly.

W Y C

we went to oakover yesterday (sunday) for a late breakfast. it was amazing so fresh, tasty and filling... we had the big breakfast, smashed avo, pancakes, vegan mushroom bruschetta and 2 kids bacon and eggs, great value, great coffee ( roasted on site ) and really friendy staff, thanks for sitting us when you were closing to get ready for lunch. we will be back for lunch. Happy New Year guys

Isa Bella

Arrived 10:20am for breakfast but advised it was booked out and anyways a 45 min wait for food. This is despite heaps of free tables available. Seems like it was easier to turn us away rather than clear some tables.

Jodie Simmons

Very underwhelmed with the quality of food. $25 for a BLT and the bacon was either really over cooked or old/breakfast left over. Mentioned something to the waiter. No response or apology or anything. $4.50 for my glass of cold pressed juice thinking it must be fresh pressed. Was just bottled juice you buy at the supermarket. Very dissapointed

Katrina Smith

We were greeted by friendly staff who were most accommodating, as we arrived half an hour prior to the kitchen closing. My partner ordered at the bar and brought our tasting flight of wines back to our table.... Our lunch was served less than ten minutes later - impressive service! Not so much the food ... the chips were good but our burgers were quite average for the price (the vegan patties were really dry in mine) and our chocolate cake tasted nothing like chocolate (?) The Fiori coffee was divine though, and the wines offered were an enjoyable selection of their chardonnay, semillon sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc and shiraz. We purchased a bottle of both the shiraz & chardonnay. Unfortunately the shiraz was nothing like the soft, easy drinking red we enjoyed at lunch. Perhaps it was their cabernet merlot that we sampled? The chardonnay was quite nice though. Overall we enjoyed the industrial-style restaurant, the views of the lovely little lake and the 'market' where you can sample food and wine etc and purchase goods to take home. Will return for more of the terrific coffee and to try the smokehouse next time!

jessica sciullo

Everything was excellent however if you’re hungry don’t get the S&P squid cause you’ll be severely disappointed in the overpriced portion size go the parmi instead 3x more food

Josh Credaro

Great place and food for a lovely time with family and friends! Excellent for kids. We are very glad for having chosen Oakover for my husband's birthday. The service was perfect and the menu variety made a difference.

catnnat

Love this place - just perfect for families. Visit during the week for less crowds - plenty for the kids to do too and meals are always great. Fiori coffee is ground there so can always pick up some great coffee beans on the way out.

Jay Ong

Great food. Spectacular grounds for the kids

Dianne Hyder

I had lunch here. We pre-ordered food but it still took 30+ mins to come out. It came with a glass of wine. Mine was literally a tad more than tasting size. I had the Barramundi (when it eventually came). It was nice but the potatoes that it came with (and it can be with not much else), were not cooked. What a waste of money, it was poor service and overpriced. A little more care and it could've been enjoyable.

Mynhardt Claassens

Had a great experience! Went there for a breakfast date with my wife on a cold winter morning. The staff was very attentive and arranged a place near heater. We are vegetarian so the chef accommodated a request to prepare some dishes without meat. The ambience is nice too! Overall very happy!

Kimmy Sham

Really nice place...worth to try

Lisa Brescacin

OMG the atmosphere was shared by high school buddies from the 70’s however it was the most uncomfortable venue to have a meal the air conditioning had no impact from the heat - we couldn’t read the menus so we were advised by the staff to use our phones magnifying app to read it - say whaaat????

David Varcoe

Awesome place and good scenery with a pond and small island. The kids were ecstatic with the paddle boats and the swing a bat. The kiddy treasure hunt also worked up a sweat with a bit of moving about. The food were great though the kids portion left a bit wanting. Overall am very happy with the place.

Cheryle Martin

Beautiful grounds, amazing food and service. Perfect for the whole family.

Nazmul Ahsan

Great spot for lunch. Lovely environment, you can have a proper sit down meal or sit out under the trees. Recommended.

Miglena Marinkova

Great service from attentive service staff, especially from the handsome guy service staff. Food was good. Experience there was marred by the houseflies You LITERALLY have to battle with the flies unless of course u want to share your food with them which i believe will upset your tummy. Please do something to the flies, hang stickysheet to trap them?

Josh B

Absolutely amazing experience! We came to Oakover as part of a self-planned wine tour for my sisters 30th birthday and did the premium tasting. The staff were very welcoming. They checked ahead of time when we needed to leave timed the tasting accordingly. The tasting boards were absolutely delicious and so well priced. There was so much food we couldn’t finish. The perfect wine tour lunch stop. A must stop for any large group tasting.

Jesse Baker

So I went to this place to get morning tea but they had such a little selection of bakery treats and etc so I decided to get breakfast instead. In the mean time I went on the paddle boat which was terrible because 2 of them didn't work, and the one that did had bad steering so you couldn't get the boat back to land or anywhere. The food was alright but they had it in small portions for the amount you pay. If you are just having breakfast I would not recommend this to you.

Lauren Broadhurst

Such lovely grounds ! BUT it's a shame the food and service doesn't match the surroundings! The worst meal We have encountered in the valley. Ladies had chicken wings which were dry and like they were kept warm under heat lights and the aioli sauce was all dry on top! The boys had the charcuterie board ! Don't bother trying this the deli meats were like they were left out in the sun, the farmhouse terrine was so bad and tasteless I asked the waitress who made it and she replied the chef did, well if the chef made it he or she has no taste buds at all and the pickled veggies I think There were 4 small pieces hidden under a a few leaves, 3 Pieces of toast, a small amount of peanut pretzels which are available at coles scoop and go. 3 thin pretzel sticks and a piece off cheese oh a dried on top dob of mustard! The cold meat had been sitting in the heat and was hard as and dry! So I hope I have described what was served to us! So manager ! here's your chance to turn this around and serve up top class food and not this disgusting very average style food

Vanessa Hinge

Got there at 1pm, table wasn’t ready had to wait 30 mins. Then finally got a table and food took an hour and half! Ridiculous never waited so long for lunch. Didn’t eat until 3pm. My niece and nephew were starving. Staff admitted food took too long but didn’t offer us a discount or anything.

Tony TEO

We enjoyed a yum breakfast here nice spot.

Kirra Johnson

Very good place for family and friends!!

Bee Yeo

Visited for lunch mid week with only about 25% of the tables taken so not busy. Great setting and lovely tasting food . Our daughter arrived first and advised us that we were to sit at a small table suitable for 4..when we were a party of 5...no bother. Friendly but confused staff...twice forgot our wine ,missed one meal and had to ask for plates to eat our tapas from and were brought 4 plates for the 5 of us.

Ross Nunn

Oakover hosted our hens group for a wine tasting. Our host was so lovely and accommodating, and the platters (Turkish bread and dips) provided were delicious. It was such great value and a relaxed atomosphere. Thanks again!

Rhonda Harris

Nearly died on the bike things but I liked it

Tim Abrahams

Beautiful spot for lunch and functions and is family owned for many years. abundance of Space for families, especially kids and large range of local produce too. While there it's worth having the Bruschetta with barista style coffee. ????

Tanina allia

Huge venue with good drinks and food available, we were a bunch of about 20 and accommodated us well. Big lawns for footy and running about. Could do with a few more staff on while we were there

Nai Horne

Awesome place to take the kids, massive area for them to run around and play.. one issue that was on my mind that the playground is right on the edge of the lake, no safety fence up..

Debbie Miller

Great setup. Food was good. Service could sharpen a bit. Leavining one customer standing waiting for their drinks whilst moving onto another customer to answer qeustions about the colour of beer annoyed me. Serve one completely then move on. Servers also could be a bit more friendly and assertive in their comunication. Hope to go back and enjoy experience fully.

Chantelle Karemaker

The food was good but not great, but the service was slow and came out in a strange order. I had finished my breakfast before my friend had received his. The vibe was pretty chill though. Probably won't go back.

David Botten

Just had a lovely breakfast here 15, April 2019. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. I had the purgatory eggs but no chorizo (veg) and the rest of the group had the breakfast burger, smashed avo and another purgatory eggs. Great serving sizes, tasty food without being greasy. Everyone really enjoyed it. When it started raining the staff put down the blinds, forgetten extra eggs but replacement came out super quick. Will come back here again.

Darren Hunt

Great place for families and catch up with friends. Good food and coffee was delicious. Gets busy so bookings essential to avoid disappointment.

Allan Bennnett

Place is confusing. On one hand you have beautiful grounds and lake and on the other you have ugly old buildings. Additionally, they try to cater for families but the place is full of drunken youth on party buses. Our experience was not the best. No warning on a wait for food yet we waited 1.5 hours for two terrible Kranksi hotdogs, at $20 bucks each. There is a lovely lake that provides paddle boats. Only issue is there are only three, so again expect to wait an hour plus. Oakover needs to decide whether it’s a cheap venue or high end. and is it catering for hens/bucks or families. It’s confusing to charge premium rates for low end service and food and equally offer a family friendly atmosphere surrounded by party buses.

Lisa Langley

Popped in for a coffee and was a relaxing time with a well made long mac. Place is very well kept. Staff always pleasant.

E Z

The water cycling bikes are amazing. Super fun for kids and adults alike. They are free ...yay!!!! The food is yum.... their gourmet toastie are to die for. The service... sigh... particularly service for wine tasting.... the worst i have ever seen. Its just horrible... the wine itself is not bad. Had it not been for the service, could have easily been a perfect score. Its a beautiful spot.

Paul Bricky

Paddle boats were fun and the place is nice however the food was underwhelming and the aranchini balls were just plain bad. Nice bar and drinks though.

Sandy Matthews

As usual a fabulous meal at our favourite winery. Best wine ever as well.

Ron W

Very large open grassed areas good views and bar stocked with a wide range or beers and wine, good food menu too.

Charlotte B

Today was my 3rd time in 6 months I've visited these beautiful grounds. Today I had the beetroot Arancini balls and they were very yummy and my husband had the honey glazed Chorizo and said how good they were. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the meals come out very quickly. The only downside is the noise from the visitors from the party buses that arrive. The girls are rather loud and once they've had a few drinks are very over the top in their behaviours.

Benjamin Lynn

Great family restaurant ????

Brad Shaw

Good coffee, don't bother trying to book a private function here though because they'll get it wrong, double book and tell you a few weeks later that they can't take you. Won't be bothering ever again.

Monica Miller

About 10 of us came here Aug 2019 for my mother in law's 70th birthday. The staff made a mistake and only three children's orders were brought out. The table service was basically absent and it took over an hour for the adults' meals to come after the children were fed. For the inconvenience the manager offered to give mother in law's meal for free - about 20 bucks worth of bangers and mash! When we suggested this wasn't appropriate the manager told us we were making the 70th birthday even worse and pushed back. Great marketing there... Never again.

Tim R

Beautiful grounds with a little lake and plenty of tables in both inside & out. We were sat inside as there were no tables outside although still had a good view of the greenery. There is a good food menu & lots of options. We had the octopus as an entree and the barramundi as a main and neither disappointed. Definitely a lovely spot to go visit

George Tozanis

Very nice place for Coffee and Lunch

Dr Jeremy Chin

Terrible service, dont order food if they are also planning an event, as the staff can't do 2 things at once, very disappointing! We ordered coffee with our dessert and requested they all come out together. Got the dessert, she totally forgot the coffee order until we went up to ask where the coffees were. She apologised and said she got distracted??!!

Ryan C

Great place, new craft beer bar will definitely go off on weekends with the tap list they have.

Kai Gillespie

We came on a public holiday with no booking ( 2 adults n a child) service was great, our waiters was lovely ( sorry didn't catch her name, she has a bamby tatoo on forarm),made us feel welcome and interacted great with child. Food was great,n fresh. We did have to wait a while for food but I think given that we had no booking n it was a PH it was to be expected. Also outside is great! There was a slight issue with Bill but was quickly rectified.we will be back , we did enjoy it very much!

Ness Fez

Great experience. Tasty wine, quality cheese box as well outside at the Smokehouse bar. Good for kids. Live jazz every last Sunday of the month.

Rhiannon Stafford

Nice decent place......but didn't get a chance to eat because we arrived on the exact cut-off time for brekky and had to wait 30 mins for lunch. We decided to go to a different place...

Claire Bradstreet

Beautiful grounds. Cold average food. Asked to leave immediately due to having dogs which were on a website that we could bring them. We were way up the back of the grounds with the dogs and everyone kept coming over to ask to pat. Didn’t even receive a full refund for meal and drinks that weren’t finished and about 4 staff had seen us walk in and said hello.

Nice atmosphere, sml fire going to help with the cold. Friendly, professional and efficient staff. Breakfast meal beautifully presented, great tasting

Good service, fit us in last minute foe a group of 5. Let us know kit hen was busy which was appreciated. Most of our meals were decent, pork belly was a highlight. Had a nice time in a good setting and will come back. Thanks team

Waited 60 minutes for an overpriced meal for 4 outside the garden kiosk. We never should have ordered the $20 loaded hotdog (Kransky on a bun). They should call it the $20 loaded bull instead, because it’s a loaded big fat lie and there is nothing loaded about it. Please excuse my harsh description, but pathetic is the only word I can use to describe our meals and experience. Perhaps tell your patrons in future how long the wait is before happily taking our hard earned $$$ before we place our orders.

Oakover-it! Waiting for more than an hour for food . Kids are starving. Service non existent. Not coming back here for sure. What a mess this place is... Can't order inside if you are outside. We were undercover but no table number so no, you have to order outside ???? Tje Staff didn't say the wait time for food is over an hour!!! Kids are beside themselves with hunger. What kind of place does that? Just useless..

Mark Mccaw

Nice location, lovely airy restaurant with gorgeous views of the lake and vineyards from the verandah. You need to order food and drinks at the counter. Food is delivered to the table but you need to bring your own drinks and water bottle and glasses to the table so bear this in mind. Food delivery was prompt and all were happy with orders. I got the chicken salad - delish. Kids got ham toasties and chips- all fab. My husband got the BLT which was huge and fab again, just slightly on the over toasted side. We ordered the shiraz and cab merlot...beautiful wines. The water trikes which are free for customers to use were brilliant- amazing fun. The shaded lawn area was beautiful to relax (and dry off on) after the trikes. You can grab rugs from the restaurant to lie out on and there are kids activities to keep the smallies entertained. Only drawback is no shade over the kids play area.

Management a little brush with customers food so average and brushetta unfortunate use goats cheese too over powering and spoilt dish.... charging 1 dollar extra for ketchup a big mistake and a turn off for locals to return very greedy and unecessary shame... wings too salty chips very boring arinchini good ..... remember treat customer as the important ones not the other way round too common attitude in this area of the swan aggressive and spoiling the atmosphere what could be a potentially lovely experiences hope things improve soon and places in swan embrace the customer. Take 2 I sent my reciew and then realised reading other reviews last months and a pattern emerging really need to up your game if want to maintain cliental there are better places to go in the swan at the moment certainly if i were managing there i would hear and see red flags and change where and what was needed. Wish people businesses in this area would treat customers with more respect.

Had overpriced beef brisket and bbq pork rolls. Don’t bother coming here for food or beer. Both are unsatisfactory and the tap beer is warm and it’s even a hot day.

Grounds and kids play areas are great.. & the peddle boats awesome to keep kids entertained!! Service was very average , stood at the counter for about 5 minutes before I got Acknowledged even know the girl was right in front of me making a coffee. Food was good but nothing special.

Absolutely love this place. We had our wedding here and couldn’t be happier. Location is a great mix of indoor/outdoor, formal/informal - whatever you require or desire for your visit. Great food, great management. Will be back as often as I can. Thank you guys!

Carly

The outside food range is a bit limited but what is really concerning is the lake setup. Having the watercraft available was great for the kids but it was completely disorganised, fights constantly breaking out between children because there was no system as to who gets the next ride. There was no supervision from the owners. What about duty of care? We kept an eye on our kids as we were sitting next to the water, but lots of people further away did not and would not be able to see them from the inside tables.

It could be trying to be everything to everybody; but, in saying that, had a very family friendly atmosphere. But, how do they get away with a lake, children and no fence. Immersion in children is no joke.

Shane Lloyd

Amazing grounds for kids, Beautiful food!! We were very very happy.

Erwin Abel

Nice grounds with kid friendly play area and water paddle rides. Not a huge choice on the Cafe menu but good portions. Market with speciality items to peruse. Didn't dine in at the restaurant but defs function friendly.

Julie Milesi

A really lovely spot, nice open grounds for the kids to run and play while mummy gets plastered on Chardonnays....

lynchyt lynchy

Great grounds for kids and colonial beer excellent. Unfortunately outdoor food bar is way overpriced for what you get. Just a bun and meat for 20 bux is crazy. Will try the indoor eatery next time.

Hendra Yoga

Has its attractions and food is ok. Their systems of service are completely hopeless and inflexible. Just ruins a day with how pathetic and stupid a restaurant can be.

Since the refurb, this place looks spectacular. I was there for a wedding the other day and the set up looked amazing (rustic chique), food was top class and the staff (mostly) friendly. I would definitely recommend as a wedding venue.

Stephen Croxson

Fantastic place to visit with a wonderful view over the lake with plenty of ducks. A lovely slice of country not too far out of the city.

Michael Brooks

Food was lovely, but I think the post boxing day crowd took them by surprise. There was long waits for food which inevitability went to the wrong table. Definitely needed more trained front of house staff and a 'wait to be seated' system. Reserved tables were being taken by walk ins.

Sharon Mac

Always love going there. Love the surroundings and ambience of the whole complex. Their upgrades to the venue is superb. We also buy our Fiori coffee beans from them.

Frank Riso

So I ordered food from the steakhouse and it wasn’t too busy for a Sunday and I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for a brisket roll that came on soggy white bread and the brisket was very dry. The potato salad side was also not very nice. Very disappointing- I will not be back.

Karen Irwin

Stunning beautiful place. Gorgeous grounds and a wonderfully decorated restaurant. The staff were helpful and kind.

Caroline Lengyel

While the venue offers gorgeous grounds and a variety of weekend activities, the staffing and logistics are very disorganised (not rude in any way just completely unable to cope with customer volume). If you go on a busy day, it's chaos and customers are left to fight for space and counter service. Edit : Review score edited to reflect owners feedback below

The staff are lacking very basic customer service skills and to be totally honest the main service lady is quite rude and probably needs to undertake some more detailed training, she really needs to critique herself honestly and look at her situational responses a bit closer. We have had numerous unpleasenet encounters with her and so have some of our other friends to date. We only come back to Oakover because of the location, grounds and serenity but after yet another bad experience with the staff I think we will just stick with Taylor’s coffee house 1 minute down the road.

Lian

Great place for breakie with the kids. Stuffed our faces before heading out to the pond to work it off by taking the kids out on the paddle boats. Highly recommend the breakie burger. Also, be warned the kids meals are huge too????

Tonto Bb

Very nice view and food, must try RST pork belly

Elvira Wright

Decent food but it came out in stages... so we had 5 people watching 2 people eat for about 5 mins... people go out to SHARE a meal not eat separately...

Sharon Tan

Really great customer service and enjoyed the wine tasting. Like that there's also a cafe, peddle boats and a large range of other products to look at

Reto Truninger

Today we drove all the way from bicton to this big fat DISSAPOINTMENT! This place may offer a beautiful view and a lake but it is just to hard to sell hotdogs less then $10 and to hard to offer a menu to people seated outside! This place is HIGHLY over priced and I would only recommend going to this "restaurant" if you don't want to eat any food! The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because it's only nice when your not hungry! I'd rather go somewhere else where hotdogs are $2!

I was part of a wine tour that was suppose to visit Oakover Grounds. When my bus arrived we were not greeted by any staff member and were not instructed as to where to go to check in. We waited in the main entrance for a few minutes before a rude staff lady told us we had to leave straight away. She did not instruct us as to why we were forced to leave except saying that there were 2 drunk ladies in the bathroom and she assumed they were from our bus. She would not tell us who the drunk people were and could not identify them from our group. We had to wait outside to contact our bus driver to come pick us up and needed to make alternative arrangements but the staff member would not let us organise ourselves and rudely kept telling us to leave. We had pre-paid $400 for food but were left with nowhere to go and nothing to eat for the whole day. Very disappointed in the way the staff treated our group, we were shown no respect and were not given any time to make alternative plans. Would not book a wine tour here again, they will only mess you around.

I really want to like this place because it’s in such a beautiful surrounding. But I couldn’t honestly give it more than 3 stars generally because of the food. The food is very average and that’s where it ends. I’ve been there twice and have had the chicken parmigiana with chips and then the Vegan burger with chips. Parmy just wasn’t great. The sauce wasn’t great. I’ve had a lot better $10 parmigiana at pubs. The chips are terrible. They’re cheap frozen chips. I think maybe cutting their own chips would be a great idea. The Vegan toasted sandwich just average. The avo was on the bottom which made the sandwich soggy. Also too much rocket. The chick pea patties where too round which made the sandwich hard too eat. Again those chips, get rid of them. Invest in good quality larger chips or do your own.

Great place for wine, cheeses and delicious meat's etc. Wines, Coffee and service is great with large areas for groups.
