As you know, we don't usually stop to write feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery is classified in the category of Winery.
Fantastic wine, great atmosphere.
Good venue with friendly staff and really tasty wine.
Went for a group wine tasting, a beautiful venue, but staff didn't talk about the wines or history. They were very private and kept to themselves, really nice and friendly, but there wasn't a lot of interaction about the history of the place or tasting notes. Nice spot, but wouldn't recommend it for a group tour.
Staff is nice and great view
Was a very quiet Wednesday morning when we arrived. Staff were friendly and would have poured tasting glasses all day for us. Nice setting.
The glass broke in my hand and I was abused by a staff member then charged for the glass. Sorry your glasses are cheap
What a place man! Had varieties of vibrant wines and cheese without a cent! Its been a year being there! Wishing to have still more of drops from the Aussie lady!
The staff are always so friendly and the rose wine is to die for!
Lovely wine but that was as far as it went... Such a shame as the the wines were actually rather good, I especially enjoyed their Chenin Blanc..Unfortuantely, the girl who was looking after our Hen party was clearly disinterested. We were rushed through the tasting, given no information about the wines and were made to feel like the sooner we left the better. If they review their front of house staff I am sure this winery would be very popular.
Got abused by staff.
Very nice atmosphere
I don't know anything about wine and barely anything about cheese. But the pairings we had as testers were really good. Staff was friendly, patient and helpful.
Beautiful location.Tasted large no of varieties of wine ????????????????
Great wine especially that rose...
Excellent service
Nice place. Great relaxed vibes, decent wine and staff that are still energised despite the slack jawed yokels often turning up. Great job.
I'll be back for more of your sparkling wine.
Visited while on holiday best wine tour ever great wine we treated ourselves to a case of the cab sav ????
Old Vines Shiraz, just sublime.
Great wine, delicious cheese, professional staff. I was there with d’vine tour.
Great spot to taste some of the local produce amongst the vineyard. Try the SB and the sticky Shiraz. The cheese goes down well too! I'm not a big wine person, but I'll definitely be back.
Amazing rose’ and the cheese is the bomb
Lovely setting and great staff. The Sparkling wine is excellent
One star is too much credit for the awful experience a bus of 20 had on 16/4/16, rude staff, rushed, missed out on tastings $8 per head if on a bus and they do not wave the $8 fee if you purchase the wine like other wineries do.
We were welcomed by an enthusiastic young woman who was patient and knowledgeable. The Chenin and Moscato were excellent. The Rosé was sensational. There is a special deal if you buy three, which we did. Some other reviewers have left complaints about the service. Possibly that's because they came with tour groups and there are serious time constraints with these tours. I recommend visiting Lancaster on a self-drive so you can have the same quality of customer service that we had. Just take care on the driveway, it needs resurfacing.
This is an odd shack with DELICIOUS wine and THE CHEESE!! YUM YUM YUM
Rude staff! Do not want to entertain us when we were there.
Lovely place but lack of service and wine is just average.
A very cool relaxed winery
Terrible place for tourists, rude and care less
A cozy winery with a outdoor area with a superb view. The place is situated in a middle of a wine yard so it gives a real experience of a winery. Small place but the experience was great. The wines were good, good place to hangout with family or friends with a superb view
Great place to stop in for a wine tasting.
(Translated) The attention is not very good and the wines of not very good quality. Much show and little attention. (Original) La atención no muy buena y los vinos de no muy buena calidad. Mucho show y poca atencion.
Nice wine and cheeses
A hidden gem. Fantastic selection of white wines and highly recommend their sticky red.
Its a really nice location in the Valley, except that the road in is made of white dust, and going down the long lane and out again the car was covered in white dust so we had to wash the car when we got home. The place is lovely though, it is cute and simple and quite unique. I think though the $15 for wine tasting and cheese tasting is a bit hefty. If you come only with a couple or a few people it is free, but if you arrive with 10 people and book they charge you. There are other wineries that are just as beautiful and attentive that offer free tasting for a group of 10.
Great set up with awesome tasting. Lovely staff and some of the best wines in the valley.
Visited Lancaster today as it's been on our list, staff were bare minimum friendly, we bought thier products to go and also wine to drink while we were there. Would be nice if staff were friendlier, as we are locals and would visit more regularly.
(Translated) Great free wine tasting and cheese. The wine, especially the rosé, is really delicious. (Original) Tolles kostenloses Wein verkosten sowie Käse. Der Wein, besonders der Rosé, ist wirklich köstlich.
Perfect wine Tasting Experience . The Winery , Service , Cheese and off course the wine :)
Filthy toilets!
Good Wine and Great Cheese tasting- keep going back for the Cheese
Wow, great wine here, loved every one that we tried, and very reasonably priced considering the quality..
Such a lovely place, I did not LOVE any of the wines but they were still great nonetheless. It's such a chill vineyard that isn't packed like Sandalford and Mandoon - you get a free cheese tasting while drinking some wine, and you can pay $15 for a cheese selection and $5 for crackers. Take that and chill out with the beautiful view and seats they have. 100% recommend for the vibes.
Good wine, cheese and prices but service could have been a little better, and felt like we were not told of the wine promotion applicable to our purchase until we spotted and asked of it..
A perfect example of unpretentious wine from the under rated Swan Valley. Yes, it doesn't have the prestige of Margaret River, but if you make it down to this region make sure you stop here and enjoy the wine and the beautiful grounds of the winery.
Not the best place for wine tasting. All outdoor bar area with no seating and crowds of different groups. Found the staff to be a bit brisk and unfriendly. But on the plus side they had a resident chicken?
Lovely wine seriously.. and cheese tasting... Pay the 5 and try all the reserves.. worth it.. and what a picturesque drive in..
Brilliant cellar door with outstanding wines. The casual but very informative atmosphere was an absolute delight.
Just brilliant. The Rose was a stand out
Doing the Swan Valley Wine ???? tour in a small van along with 9 strangers is always going end well in terms of new friends being made. Our tour/driver, Ron from Devine Tours, I would highly recommend and I think I could safely say on behalf of the others. He kept everyone well informed from start to finish. Interacted well with everyone on both individual or group. The onboard entertainment was second to none. Lancaster Wines is set in a beautiful spot, staff supplied great service and information relating to the wines ???? tasting along with a cheese board of different samples complemented by different wines. Certainly recommend a visit to this Winery.
Great wines and cheese
Absolutely great place great tastings
Good wine, great cheese platter, but no good service. We went there, kind of expecting a little bit more of information about the wines or at least a more specific tasting notes. The staff, very unattentive, just give you the wine without explaining anything. We paid the premium tasting but the didn't have 2/8 wines, but they don't tell you that in advance. Overall, good wines but not good experience.
Never had a such a awkward and uncomfortable experience at winery even I was showing to buy the wine. Visited Sunday afternoon in October, 2019. Two ladies werr chatting very loud and having some wines to enjoy themselves instead of saying hello to me. The lady next to me helped me out for tasting. There was only one guy was actually working there on that day. I sent the owner the email for feedback twice and never heard back from him. Just simply asked if the two ladies were working or they were in their break. Never ever go back there. Hope this could help for other visitors in the future.
forget the wines...ROSEMARY HAVARTI AND CHILLI CHEESE holy ship... the place is absolutely stunning adding to the fact that WA has the most amazing weather almost all year round. there is something for everyone here and you get a free tasting to start with. thanks, lancaster, for being awesome
My family and I had a great experience at Lancaster winery today (tuesday). The service was fantastic, provided by Carl
With cellar door set within reach of the grape vines and it's heritage, this is a winery to truely unwind in. Their West Australian sparkling white rivals top champagne houses and absolutely amazing with fresh oysters! The Rosé is could be a perfume to be worn all day long.. strawberry, cream and French vanilla - a must for the sensors. Lancaster reds are a true nod to the Swan Valley region and if you want to wow your friends find something from their museum list. Food was available - cheeses, paté, oysters, dips, cured meats and the staff will even build a grazing board from your choosings. Staff were fun, knowledgeable and relaxed. The whole atmosphere set a really enjoyable vibe. Would definitely come back and bring more friends.
We reached when the place was about to close. Yet the staff was friendly enough to offer us cheese and some wine which I must say was kind, generous and delicious!
Always amazing
A quick and easy escape from the city into the Swan valley always includes a visit to 'The Shed' at Lancaster Wines for me. Recommend buying a case to get on their VIP list. You'll then receive exclusive invitations to their quarterly events which are heaps of fun.
Excellent wine and cheese, friendly staff, nice outdoor setup
Unfortunately we had a rather disinterested girl serving our 20 person tour group. No information about the wine was offered and she really didn't engage with the group. I'm not a fan of the wine either however the fortified Shiraz didn't suck. Wouldn't recommend.
Nice Shiraz!
Our time at Lancaster Wines was a great experience. Beautiful grounds and surroundings and very friendly and helpful staff who knew what they were talking about. Tasted a number of different wines and purchased a few as priced very well for the quality of the wines. Also had a dozen oysters which were incredibly fresh and again priced really well. If you're in the Swan Valley do yourself a favour and take a visit to Lancaster Wines. I'm sure you won't be disappointed
Good cheese, nice wines, great outdoor area and friendly staff. Highly recommend
The focus is not on hospitality here.
We booked in for a group of 9 girls to do a tasting on Saturday, we paid for the tastings (as is expected when in a group) however were rushed through them and made to feel unwelcome and as a hindrance to the lady serving us, who was also very rude. I would not return to this winery.
Really Disappointed $20 premium tasting cheese platter Wasn't worth the $$ Staff not helpful Not everyone was given wine
Went here for the Reds and Ribs event as part of the Entwined in the Valley 2021 festival. The wine was decent and the location was pretty in a rustic kinda way. The event itself was incredibly disappointing. $40 got you a glass of wine, ONE rib, 4 or 5 bite sized pieces of pork belly and brisket, a couple of slices of bread and a salad that was mostly iceberg and some red cabbage. All of the salad dressing was on the bread and none of it on the actual salad (not just mine. Same for my friends as well). The meager serving of meat was mostly overcooked. The entire event was being fed through one food truck window so there was a huge line to get food, easily about 30 mins standing in line. The event was picnic style and where we were sitting there wasn't enough light to even see our food. It advertised live entertainment but the only entertainment we saw was a DJ in a corner spinning tunes that only they were rocking out to.
Cute wine tasting experience - small outdoor shed for tasting the wine, nothing grand but personal. Nice wines.
I wish I lived here. I’d buy their 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon without a second thought - imho, just delicious. The sparkling is pretty good too.
Nice place but staff are so rude! I don't expect much more than basic manners
Wine and cheese was nice, however, the service was terrible. As part of a tour, we were expecting wine and cheese tastings but received one wine and a small handful of cheese cubes for 12 people. The staff member mumbled answers to our questions and reluctantly allowed us to taste another wine. Disappointing…
(Translated) Swan Valley winery. It's about 40 minutes by car from Perth, so it's a bit like getting there. Australian wines are high quality but cheap, fruity and easy to drink. Tasting in a shack-like hut-like place in the middle of a spacious vineyard. Nice location although it looks like a shack. It's a very comfortable place. You can taste about 5 recommended types. Three types of delicious cheese are also available. There is no grape juice other than wine, so people who are not good at alcohol may be spicy. It is better to go with a set of a zoo and a chocolate factory nearby. The tour can be completed in half a day.
Friendly staff and good wine. Decent outdoor setting.
Sparkling white was delightful. Cab Sav was not bad.
Great little tin shed winery. The Rose was our wine of choice after tasting - will definitely return.
Awesome little spot... Was on a wine tour. Really nice wines
(Translated) good service, with a smile! Fine wines, I would go back (if I am still around) (Original) goeie service, met een smile! Prima wijntjes, ik zou terug gaan (mocht ik nog in de buurt zijn)
Went here for a hens party for a wine tour with an age group from 20-70- staff were rude and looked like they weren't bothered at all, you can buy wine but cant drink it at the winery. Would not recommend
Decent but seriously overpriced wine. All matters of deals but very salesy.
Lovely setting, relaxed, and fantastic wines and cheese tasting.
(Translated) a small vineyard worth the detour, far from the hustle and bustle of big boxes, factory style! Very friendly staff, good wines and excellent cheeses. Do not hesitate to stop to taste. Excellent rosé (among others). (Original) un petit vignoble qui vaut le détour, loin de l'agitation des grandes boites, style usine ! Personnel très sympa, de bons vins et des excellents fromages. Ne pas hésiter à s'arrêter déguster. Excellent rosé (entre autre).
Nice Outdoor Wine and Cheese tasting among the vines. Simple and excellent service. Nice selection of wine to 23 year old Muscat.
Beaut spot. Tasty wines in a relaxed atmosphere.
One of my go to wineries in the Swan valley to take visitors. It's just across the road from the margaret River chocolate company. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Amazing & comfy wine bar in the wineries
Great
Make sure you get there before 4.45 or else don't even try your luck! Staff were not happy to serve us even though we all made purchases and we're still done by 5.05... the tasting is free apparently though but we weren't able to do it unfortunately
Some eady drinking wines served with hreat cheese. Grab a glass and chill in the garden overlooking the vinyard.
Beautiful scenery
Love Lancaster. It's my favourite winery. Decisions decisions. All of their wines are yummy. Fantastic service, tastings are free, best chilli cheese ever. Plus they now serve shucked oysters. Doesn't get any better ????
(Translated) You can buy delicious wine for 24 AUS $ per bottle (about 1,800 yen as of March 2020). Of course, tasting is free. (Original) おいしいワインが1本24AUS$(2020年3月時点で1,800円程度)で買えます。 もちろん、無料で試飲OK。
Nice
2nd stop on our Taste of the Swan Valley Tour, we arrived at Lancaster Wines. Follow their long tree-lined drive-way to their charming outdoor tasting shed for a sampling of wines from some of the Swan Valleys oldest vines. We tasted a delicious selection of premium red, white and desserts wines and sampled gourmet local cheeses???? Why not purchase a bottle of wine and make your own grazing platter, with a selection of local gourmet products (Cheese, Olives, Paté, Dips, Continental Meats, Antipasti and Crackers) and enjoy amongst their vineyard?
Relaxed and wonderful vibe. Free tastings. Delicious wines. Great chilled tunes. Friendly staff. I don't really care about weddings, but I'd get married here. Fab.
Cannot fault this place. The wines are outstanding, stunning location and very welcoming / rustic tasting and grassed area. These guys really look after you and especially so if you become part of their VIP program (free). Staff are always very helpful and generous, you feel like part of their family and friends.
Mixed experience. Lovely driveway for photos, has cheese tastings too which is unusual, yummy sticky Shiraz and muscat but priced for tourists happy to splurge. However, service is inconsistent. Ignored and not friendly or served well depending on the female you meet.
Amazing service and wonderful wine! My online order was delivered promptly. I highly recommend
Nice wine. Beautiful outdoor setting.
Than lancaster experience is best described as more rustic. I liked it, very casual and they make a nice sticky.
Last venue of Swan Valley on a whim. So glad we dropped in. Such a beautiful wine tasting area. Tin shed placed beautifully around the vines with music to suit the happy vibe of the wine tasting experience. Katie made the tasting extra special, she really knows the wine and is very passionate about the small vineyard and it tied the whole experience together to Suit a very charming cellar door. If you are after an ambient venue to enjoy the outdoors, scenery, amazing wine and and all that Swann valley has to offer in its true raw form this is where you want to be. My #1 cellar door of the day. Thanks again Katie goes to show the importance of quality staff
Peaceful wine tasting place on west swan road in Swan Valley. Bought few sparkling wines after tasting coz they were quite nice flavour.
Small but great, sticky Shiraz is amazing! And the cheese Mmmmm
love their dessert wines <3 rather pricey for small bottles, but yummy.
Wonderful wine and cheese tasting experience, lovely and friendly staff. Bought ourselves some cab savs and would definitely be returning next time when we visit the area again ????
It’s all about the money and staff and even owner less than happy to invest time talking too busy!!! I was always taught good customer service and treat everyone as your next paying customer! The owner needs to Keene this and this will show in his staff as well! Not impressed!
great wines, staff were unfriendly to us at first which was disappointing. however they have a very tasty rosé!
Always welcoming
In the winters it's a different view altogether with a new look... no greenery but different dried out trees all around, none the less i dont have knowledge about vine but quite a few people were having theirs.
Lovely place for wine tasting. Nearly outdoor. Best cheeses so far served, very tasty and generous. Lovely staff, cheerful and informative. Lovely wines.
Nice outdoor wine tasting. Staff are friendly.
What a lovely unpretentious local winery. The blonde lady at the shop was so helpful and a true blue Aussie happy Vegemite. Nothing was too much trouble! We tried 5 wines and three cheeses but were not charged a cent, despite offering to pay! I felt guilty, so I brought some delicious chilli cheese! ???? Extraudinary wines and each tasting came with WA cheeses. Amazing to taste wines next to the vines on which they grow! They have some great wines and this place is so down to earth as my photos show. Highly recommended!
Always a very good experience, great wines and good value
Great place to try.
Saw their "free wine and cheese tasting" sign and dropped by. The winery was beautiful and serene and the set-up was very rustic and comfortable. Overall lovely atmosphere ☺️
Lovely outdoor wine tasting setting overlooking the vines. Great wines and delicious cheeses.
