Quite possibly my favourite restaurant in the Sault! Their Steak Sandwich, available during lunch hours, is phenomenal. I ordered mine rare, and the steak melted in my mouth. Their mashed potatoes are so good, and are a great compliment to their sirloin during dinner. Also, their dessert selection is sinful but incredible!! I will return...and return....and return again and again :)

We booked for my mom's bday. The kids enjoyed it, but after everyone ate, the meals for my wife and I never came. We asked to get it to go as we were told it was going to be a while. After waiting about a half hour with no sign of a waitress we were about to leave when the food finally came. The smoked wings at home was pretty bland.

The food is amazing, they have a great selection of beer on tap, their steaks are to die for. Try the peppercorn butter on your steak! Def one of my fave places to dine in the Sault. And one of the few places to have Michelob Ultra on tap! The service is always good and I love the atmosphere. What they've done with this building amazes me everytime I'm in there, the architecture and vibe is beautiful.

Nice location for lunch or dinner on the patio after a walk along the river. However, expect your experience to be ruined by the terrible level of service. 30 minutes wait just to receive our menu, which had severely limited options and had only 25% of the options available for the wine bar (so much was out of stock the server didn't even bother to give us a drink menu). After another long wait for our steaks, which both turned out quite overdone. We did not have the time (or confidence) to send the food back, which feels like quite a waste when we paid a LOT of money to not get what we ordered. Overall, this place seems to suffer from a lack of pride and management.

I did not have a great experience from start to finish with this restaurant. Walking in, the atmosphere is beautiful, but I was taken aback when two of the staff walked right up to my sister and I with no mask. When seated everything took place in 10-15 min intervals. 10 mins to order and receive espresso (twice because the original person who asked didn’t pass the info along to the server), they sat a large bottle of water with no glasses down, after 10 mins we decided to steal glasses off another table and go up to ask for sugar. 15 mins past that to get the lavender lemonade I ordered, which didn’t have any alcohol in it and not the slightest taste or smell of lavender. No one checked on us for another 15 mins, and we finally got someone’s attention after asking for the bill before finishing our appetizers which were severely over cooked. This sucked. We were hungry after a long drive, wanted a nice dinner and to go enjoy the view of the water. We had to ask the server if we offended them in some manner. Every table around us was being checked in on, their orders put in promptly. It was just very disappointing. After bringing our complaints to the attention of the server, we paid full price, no attempt at all to reconcile the start and try to get us to stay for dinner. She (we believe her name was Sam, but she took the bill from us after we paid), was pleasant throughout the hour we were there, but not in tune with her guests. I would not recommend.

Went for lunch with family. Service was really nice and friendly. The place is a bit smaller than it looks from the outside. All our meals exceeded expectations. The salads and soups were amazing. The food will take longer than other restaurants so make sure you are prepared to stay a while. This is fine when there is good wine, but with small kids, make sure they have things to do while they wait.

Horrible food for the price. Yorkshire pudding apps were disgustingly salty. My husband's chicken was definitely overcooked and my food looked like it sat under a heat lamp for hours. Vegetables were mush. NOT worth the price. Waitress however was amazing and managed to deal with all our kitchen concerns promptly and courteously. Props to her! Caesar salad and cornbread was amazing though....so one star for that.

If you are in Sault St. Marie and looking for a wonderful dining experience, this is the restaurant for you. From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic! We started off with a bottle of J. Lohr and an appetizer and decided on the 16 oz New York Strips. My brother, father and I were all impressed with the presentation and flavor of our meals. We will def be back on our next trip to SSM!

This is a great new spot! The decor takes advantage of the original architecture, with just the right amount of modern touches. As expected with a steakhouse, the menu leans fairly heavily towards that end of the dining experience, but my meal was spot on. The meals are not inexpensive, but the portions and quality justify the price in my experience, as everyone left very satisfied.

Service was poor! Martinis were horrible way too salty could barely drink them. Food was not good at all. I may have had high expectations. Thought the mussels would be served better. Escargot was tasteless nice presentation tho. The house salad was a bowl of spring mix. House dressing was good. I would recommend upgrading the salad. Fruit flies were in my martini and in my wine, nevermind all over mine and my partners face. The mashed potatoes with the main was a lump of cold potatoes disguised with a flavourless cheese. Prime rib was clearly reheated when asked for as rare as possible came out grey. My ravioli was ok i would recommend the portobello ravioli if ordering. Nice atmosphere but to advertise as a wine bar and no one know what wine they actually carry nor price. No wine list nothing. Pretty disappointed

The craft beers and wine list are good. Our appetizers were not done well and the waitress sent one of them back to kitchen. The second attempt was much better. I ordered a 16 ounce steak for $46..it was very over seasoned and salty as well as far too rare. It could have just been a bad night for the cook but food was not up to what you would expect for the price. Our server was amazing and made the experience much better. I give it a 3 out of 5 but we have had much better food at Solo and Quattro for less cost. I would stay away from the premium steaks..now that we have tried it we probably will only return for drinks and appetizers next time.

The service here pales in comparison to the service we got at the delta hotel restaurant. Also why don't we get a cloth napkin? The food was good, not sure worth the price premium. The waiter should have warned us that we ordered way too much food, I wasn't expecting American sized portions. Also I found it offensive that the default tip is 18% minimum on the card machine. Gtfo here, lucky to get the 15% I gave.

Memorable lunch and dinner spot right next to the US-Canada bridge. The Mill is a very cool spot because it is a part of a whole complex called the Machine Shop that includes the Steam Fitters Lounge and the Boiler Room Pub. I got a simplified Mill Cobb salad without cheese, egg or tomatoes. The smoked chicken was delicious and with a lemon oregano vinaigrette it was an extremely healthy lunch. I also had a great coffee which was somewhat strong in taste but still flavorful. Huge fan of the stone facade and interior decor. Could be a great spot for a drink based on the intriguing look of the bar.

The Sault doesn’t offer many finer dining options but this one is definitely above the rest. The atmosphere is great as it’s in a repurposed mill. The interior and exterior are absolutely beautiful. They make great use of the reclaimed space. However, our table of 12 was very disappointed with the service and quality of food. When you are paying $40 a plate this isn't acceptable. Meals were brought out in delayed chunks and multiple meals had to be sent back because the meat wasn't cooked to order. The final meals arrived when the first meals were done. The server was very rough and clearly got overwhelmed which resulted in a meltdown. Managements apology came in the form of a 15% discount to the affected meals. It would have been preferable for a manager to actually approach and apologize for the service. The 15% discount felt flippant.

We think someone who was the owner left in the middle of the busiest time, shouldn't he be helping out? Ummm....WOW!! What an amazing atmosphere! Situated in a 200 year old building, it's a wonderful and beautiful dining experience! The food was delicious and steak cooked to perfection! Dessert was to die for... Homemade pastries and Gelato...WHAT!!!! Also, we had an amazing server, who not only provided her expertise and opinion, but also arranged for us to have a little tour of the building! Thank you Lindy, your service was truly appreciated. We will be back. Additionally, they are about to open a bar in this building called The Boiler Room, apparently offering delicious stone baked pizza and a wide selection of beer!! Some from my hometown of Sudbury. Can't wait to check it out! Check out the pics, this place is definitely a must stop if you are in the Sault area!

Delusions of grandeur. The food was expensive, and mediocre, the service was lazy, and for a wine bar, the selection was uninspiring... The meat was overcooked, and barely a finger width thick. The fries took up most of the plate, and were limp and soggy and only tasted like vegetable oil. The vegetables were cooked to death in heaps of oil, that they swam in on the plate; and anything else that touched the oil just tasted like the vegetables. Oh the yorkshire pudding.... I can't say properly how bad it was. It looked like it was cooked a week in advance. Soggy. Rubbery. Foul. It takes 12 minutes to prepare, cook and plate a yorkshire. To have them come out old and rubbery, is inexcusable. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Horrible experience. We called to book a reservation for our fiest year wedding anniversary. Booking over the phone was great, cheerful woman that paid attention to the little details such as our anniversary. She is the reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. We booked for the patio. When we arrived, we were greeted by a stern server with attitude. He asked if we had a reservation, we said yes, and then he shrugged and said we weren't on the list. We said we booked for the patio and he said it was now closed. Would've been nice to know this before getting ready and driving there. He rolled his eyes and said he guessed he could put us at a table inside. We waited 10 mins while he cleared the table. When we sat down, we waited 20 more minutes for someone to approach us and offer us water. We then ordered a drink, finished it and by the time the waitress came back we decided we'd waited long enough and the experience was pretty ruined. We were expecting a lovely night out but we're instead greeted with attitude and bad service and not to mention we weren't given a call to tell us our reservation was canceled. We ended up leaving after our drinks and decided to reset elsewhere. We went to Giovanni's and the service was impeccable and saved our anniversary night. Not impressed whatsoever with The Mill.

Great rehab of a beautiful old building. Food was good. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. We had just gotten off of the Agawa canyon tour and weren't very well dressed. Maitre d/waiter looked us over and seated us but was just on the edge of condescending the whole meal. Funny to us since we were all professional and medical people.

Love the ambiance of the place. Although it's a little loud. Our server was fantastic. The food on the other hand was not. Had chicken oscar. Chicken was burnt with char running half way thru. Potatoes were not edible and veggies , a little raw. Waitress tried to have our bill adjusted to no avail. I'm sure if a chef sat at a table and had this meal presented to him he'd be beside himself.

We love the setting and have taken visiting out of town family members here before. I hope Canada Day was an off day. Even the server warned us as to the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen (seriously). Well we had no where else to go. The worst dining out food experience we've had in the Sault. The Caesars however were excellent. The top cut of steak was wafer thin and cooked well done despite asking for rare to medium rare. It was the cut you might see laid on a piece of bread for a lunch steak. For $40+ a plate we expected something better or at least on par with what we could slap on the barbeque at home. Salads were ordinary. Potatoes dry. Veggies limp but okay. The server was apologetic and super nice in a hey I'm sorry you came here sort of way. She removed the steak from the plate but left the plate other dry parts (potatoes carrots). After everyone was done eating a new plate arrived with a tasteless but properly cooked piece of meat and new other parts. We didn't accept the graciously offered free desert as we just wanted to leave. 4 people, 45 minutes and $240 later we felt embarrassed for our decision to come. Perhaps just an off day.

Terrific food and service. Don't miss the shrimp saganaki appetizer. My fiance had the beef barley soup with crispy onions on top. Trout was crispy and delicious, with twice baked potato and large serving of fresh vegetable. Beautiful restored building. Well worth crossing the border from US. awesome

It's in part of an old converted paper mil . Check out their website and menu on line This place also does takeaway and the food is equally delicious eat in or take out. You have to try, the Prime Rib Roast. It's on the dinner menu and is absolutely delicious!

For a steakhouse the experience was terrible. This will surely bump this restaurant off my list of our next dining experience. The staff was rude and very unwelcoming and for our entrees the steak was so thin it wasn't able to be cooked medium rare. Don't waste your money here.

Great location, beautiful ambience ... a bit small inside and mediorce food. The building has great character and I was impressed when we first walked in but when we were seated at a tiny table for two that seemed to be right on top of other tables I was a bit disappointed. The service was very good - waiter was very attentive and punctual. I had a rib-eye with garlic mashed potatoes. The rib-eye was good but it was just a steak doused with a generous amount of Montreal Steak Spice - i expected at least a custom spice blend or marinade from a restaurant with prices such as this one. The potatoes were way over-salted and almost inedible. I'll wait a while before I try Mill Steakhouse again.

3 good things about this place. 1) my company, 2) the bottle of wine, 3) the server (clearly first day poor guy had zero training but tried hard). Waited 15 minutes to get seated with reservations and was neglected. Then sat at table for 10 minutes neglected without even being offered water. I literally set my timer for 5 mins to leave and the server came with 30 seconds left. Server was a great kid and tried real hard. Escargots were the worst I've ever had. Dried up pieces with toast that was harder than the table. Ceasar salad, I've had better from a buffet bar. 12oz rib eye had the entire contents from 10 containers of salt poured on it. I will never eat here again and suggest you don't either unless you have no palate. From GTA so perhaps my expectection is too high but Arturro's was fantastic.

We've been here a few times and had a really positive experience, but after our lunch today I don't think we'll be back. I ordered the prime rib melt sandwich and couldn't take more than a few bites because it was like biting into a block of salt. My mom ordered the Rueben sandwich and couldn't eat hers either because it tasted like the meat had gone bad. We thought dessert might make up for this, so I had carrot cake and she had chocolate ganache cake. Unfortunately we couldn't eat these either because they were both so dried out and not fresh. The server handled it we'll, but I don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

My wife and I ordered the prime rib signature dish and it was absolutely disgusting. Meat and potatoes were overcooked and dry. The yorkshire pudding was hard and inedible. On top of that service was slow and they got our bill wrong. All this for over $100. I will never dine there again.

This place was amazing when they first opened. They must have changed chefs as our recent visit was highly disappointing. The steaks were poorly cooked. The chicken Oscar was not appetizing at all. I'd also like to point out the lack of plating skills. Both plates were a hot mess. Very sad as we used to love it there.

Excellent food. Great portions. Great atmosphere. Service was stretched out a bit. About 3.5 hours for a group of six. We were in no rush and they were very busy. Not a problem for me. If you like ginger be sure to try the vanilla Dark and Stormy. Very tasty.

NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES. I have Autism. Went there for 1 year anniversary with my gf. We ordered an app. I had a teary meltdown and wanted to leave. The waitress took our order and I didn't order an entree because I wanted to leave. She visibly seemed annoyed and angry. She said nothing for yourself? Then a fecicious "ok". Sometimes what you don't say speaks volumes. I felt devalued and embarrassed I will never go back after feeling shamed into buying a meal. We ate our app then left.

I had lunch here and it was very good. The menu was not overly large but had a nice variety. Food came out looking very nice and it tasted great. The inside of the restaurant looks very appealing with the stone as well as the bar area with the large wine racks. The only thing I didn't really like was that we sat next to where the door was and it was a bit chilly when people came in and out or stood there with the door open.
