Great English style pub. Very good beer selection. Most of not all of the food is homemade. Maybe the best fries in Sarnia. Gravy looks homemade. Great burners. If you prefer smaller crisper wings them this is the place - and the hot wings are definitely hot. Really like the chili nachos - layered cheese x so that they are not all nacho chips.

So disappointed, haven’t been here in over 5 years, we ordered chicken quesadilla, coconut shrimp, nachos and chicken tiki masala. The shrimp was great but didn’t come with creamy coconut dip like they said .. instead came with curry sauce.... the chicken quesadilla had absolutely no flavour to it at all! The nachos were disgusting! The only thing that was good was the chicken tiki masala! Very dissatisfying

It's always a nice place to gather with friends, eat, drink and catch up. I, especially, love and appreciate the gluten- free menu, Ups and Downs has. I have never seen this variety of gluten free meals at any other restaurant. They even have a separate kitchen to prepare the gluten free meals. Amazing!

I suggest going to ups and downs Sarnia. The waited were nice the food was delicious and it came in really big portions. The bathrooms were really clean. Lots of space. Self seating. I 1000 percent suggest going here and I hope you have a really great experience like I did.

I really enjoyed meeting the owner by chance. Lovely man. My boyfriend and I trekked through a snow storm to grab some fish and chips and a couple beer. Great food, honest service and good vibes during pandemic times. Thanks guys keep on keeping on.

Great food. Great service. Friendly customers every visit. The employees make you feel welcome and happy to deal with you. Not like it's a chore to serve you. Also nice scenery. The lake is across the road and on a nice warm day the doors slide open to let fresh air inside

CLASSIC SARNIA BRITISH PUB & EATERY! A go-to when in town! A la carte menu style. Local beer on tap. Can’t go wrong ordering the Steak sandwich with a side of fries(greatly seasoned) staff are quick, friendly and efficient. Historical Sarnia pictures are the decor. Definitely recommend sitting on the far left side by the windows for less foot traffic. Keep up the good work.

Really fine team! You are welcomed like a regular! The staff are fun and friendly. The location is easy to get to. The decor is comfortably laid back ..come in and relax , have few cocktails , laughs and sing along to the great tunes.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST RESTAURANT IN SARNIA! I VISITED MY CHILDREN AND ORDERED OVER$100 IN FOOD AND ALMOST ALL OF IT WAS BURNT BEYOND ETABLE AND HAD TO BE THROWN IN THE GARBAGE

Food was good tonight.. my only complaint is that online the clubhouse said it came with turkey breast but it was more like prepackaged deli meat! My boyfriend said his Brit burger was a bit on the dry said but still said it was good! Thank you for supplying good, fast service. The fries here never disappoint!!

Ordered the fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly. The fries were soggy and oily. Had to wipe the oil from the fries before we could eat it. Recommend you work on improving the fries. Also pls provide more napkins at the table.

Wonderful restaurant. Great riverside view and full gluten-free menu. They'll even make substations of any of their burger styles for a vegetarian burger patty. Appetizers are to die for. Try the sample platter if you cant decide on just 1. Usually very busy from 5pm to 10pm.

Excellent food and service was excellent. I wish waitress would of told us pop was not unlimited. The cost was $3.95 x 3. I feel refills should be free.$12.00 for 3 pop pricey. otherwise no other complaints

Come here often for good food at decent price. Excellent service. Great selection of beers. My only wish is that they would vary their entertainment more rather than recycling the same performers every month. And ... maybe bring back more full bands like they used to years ago.

I have to say that my husband and I's experience with Up's and Down's, on October 7/2020 has been the WORST we've ever had with any establishment. Not only was the initial experience in restaurant absolutely awful. The lack of sincerity from the management when speaking after the fact. You ruined not only my first outing since Covid, but also my first wedding anniversary. Our meals were so over cooked, the burgers were like charcoal. Choosing the gluten free burgers, we were excited as my husband is celiac. The buns were soggy, and gross. The woman who removed the food from the table had the audacity to tell me that 'all' gluten free food was like that, and that I could expect that quality even from the grocery store. I'm sorry but I do purchase gluten free, and I have never had food turn out like the meal what was served to me. When I did mention I enjoyed the fries and would be willing to keep them, I was abruptly told No, and that there was nothing more that could be done for me but to bring me my bill for my appetizer. I left unhappy, and hungry. I then chose to call the following day because I was upset, that outing cost me $40 after tip and I was still unsatisfied. I was quite quickly brushed off and promised a follow up, that never happened. I had originally chosen to leave a low star rating over facebook, but that review was abruptly removed. The worst dining experience ever!

Those with Celiac Disease and who require a 100% Gluten Free diet salute you and your generous menu offerings for those who suffer from this disease and cannot eat regularly when dining out . it means the world to have a fun place for Family gatherings , birthdays and every day meals and take out . I have heard others who visit from London Ontario rave about Ups and Downs Gluten Free offerings as they wish they had something this great in their community.

I phone 3.5 hours in advance to place an order for the pick up time I requested. I was told I cannot place an order ahead of time. What a way to not get future customers. Will not return!

Popped in last night after taking a walk around the block to see other options and decided to try this place out. Immediately greeted by a friendly face who invited me to pick a spot. My barmaid got my attention and told me she would be with me in just a minute...which she was. That's a small detail but I get annoyed when no one acknowledges you after a few minutes in a bar or restaurant. I ordered the French pea soup which was tasty and good and not over salted, the Brit burger was exactly as advertised and a hearty burger at that, I ordered the coleslaw as my side and happy I did, it was fresh and yummy. Definitely going back when I'm in town.

Yesterday, my wife and I along with a friend, stopped in for lunch. Our waitress never shut up all the while she was at our table. Even talked about other patrons. She asked what we would like so we all gave our orders, one at a time. She wrote nothing down. The orders came. Mine was ok but the other two were completely screwed up. She took the two back and said it would be fixed. She brought the new ones back with again a screw up. Our friend had said NO FRIES! The waitress said there would be no charge for her fries or my wife’s due to the mix up. Got our bill. Total charge for everything. GOODBYE TO UPS N DOWN

We stopped in for dinner and boy did they not disappoint! The food was fantastic. The service was great. I had the liver and onions and he had the French onion soup and Caesar salad! The food was fantastic! The liver and onions were done to perfection and reminded me of my mom! They had a good beer selection along with a decent wine selection! It is a great little pub/restaurant. Lots of locals but they are very welcoming to all tourists. Will definitely go back if ever in Sarnia again!

Decent place for food and drinks. They have a wall of doors that open which is great in the summer time. There is also live music frequently. Usually of the Irish East coast folk genre. Friday's are popular with my coworkers as it's curry Friday's! We often get take out brought back to work for lunch. It's an Irish curry not your typical Indian or Thai curry but still popular.

This was terrible food unfortunately. I had ordered one of there "popular" appetizers. It was truly unpalatable and I had one bite. When I sent it back I was fully charged for it. I've never experienced that in a large chain or small family run restaurant anywhere. I will not be dining here again.
