Visited this winery yesterday, unprepared for the tasting surprises that lay ahead. I ordered a flight - four, four ounce glasses of two dry reds, and two dry whites. The flavor descriptions are exact: the first white was dry with a clean brightness reminiscent of a green granny apple combined with a tinge of (white?) pepper. The second white was a little more complex, seemed slightly fruity, was very round and not at all insipid (as some clean whites can be). Yes - this was delicious. The two reds were smooooooth - no after-burn, as some reds are. My friend ordered their port and - having sworn off sweet wines because I thought they were useless, this port literally opened my eyes. I couldn't be more surprised if I woke up with my head stapled to the carpet! One sip was a taste sensation, with chocolate at the forefront. All those romance books about Colonials sipping an after-dinner port now make sense!
