The server was nice.. The food not so much. The fries were still white.. I got the cheese burger poutine.. The hamburger was hard.. Little teeny hard balls. ( like it was left in the frying pan for a very long time).. It wasn't good.

If I could give this no stars, I would. My husband and I were enjoying the uptown scenery while discussing where to enjoy breakfast. I stopped of at Java moose to grab a coffee. When we exited Java, we noticed a sign for pub down under with their "steak and eggs" special. We walked in and the waitress verbally attacked me for having a coffee in my hand. I tried to apologize and explain but she wouldn't let me speak. I will never go back there again. It was so embarrassing.

Endless fish wasn't cooked and the old bartender from an older place that quit and went to a bigger place does drugs. Didn't even use his real name. But anyways . They people that own there place are great.

Ok...I can honestly say in Uptown Saint John this place has by far the best food for the price. Whoever is cooking those wings there...they are a true magican!! ????

Cool hole in the wall spot with a really cool atmosphere. Happened upon the bar by chance while staying at the Holliday inn next door and will definitely return in the future. Great live music, really cheap beer and food prices.

Great place. If you're looking for fancy this isn't the place. Decent food, cheap prices, and live music the Saturday night we were there. Staff were amazing and cut up some cucumbers for our 1 year old to snack on. Hidden gem and it is kind of hidden (access is from the parking garage).

Pub Down Under this is the correct name. It's located in the building beside Holiday Inn in the under ground parking. I asked at the Holiday Inn how to get there they were helpful, told me to take the elevator to "G" level out the door turn left. It's there I found it. When you find it your going to have the best time of your life. Great food wonderful staff. Next time I'm in Saint John I'll be going to both locations. Best chicken wings in Canada????

I haven't a car but I had someone take me in once and I found there buffalo wings good and they aren't skimpy with them, that as well as it seems to be like a family area

Had the steak and eggs. The steak was good, the eggs on the bland side, toast standard. It's too bad the home fries are not included. Service was good though.

Love the place! My brother's band plays there time to time. The Artificially Hip. I just had a salad and chicken last time. My date had fish and chips. They looked so good! But I am eating healthy as I can. The bartenders and servers are always cool. Great atmosphere lots to look at on the walls.

Not a bad little bar, sound system was OK, they had a couple DJ's... the music was chill. Got to dance for a solid hour without getting into any kind of crest puff moment. Nice little club. Wish the dance floor was bigger lol.

The food was ok. I ordered a donair poutine that tasted nothing like a donair poutine. I thought they had given me a philly cheese steak poutine. Tasted just like it. But apparently the little cubes that were in it was in fact donair... I have had donair poutines from many places around saint john and none of them use cubed donair meat and all poutines these days have curds. They offered to replace it but... I'm good.

Great service. A little dark and dingy. Food is very hit or miss lately. It's been great and prices are extremely reasonable, but the last few times the fries have been cold or undercooked. I just chalk it up to being very busy. On a Tuesday night, 2 piece fish and chips for 6 dollars! Expect a wait to get a table.

I came across this very hidden cozy pub by accident and was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I had a great time dancing to a local musician named Del. the people were friendly, atmosphere was buzzin until I started feeling unwelcomed almost bullied from one of the staff with an Australian accent. I left after that.

First time here, I loved the atmosphere...darker settings with tv on many sports, i felt i could relax while enjoying my meal. i took a farmers breakfast. Overall the food was very good but the breakfast patatoe were the best i had in a long time. would love to eat again.

The bar down under is definitely a hard place to find if you don't know where it is. To find it by car you need to drive down the ramp in the holiday Inn express car park and drive into the covered section of the car park behind the hotel. Definitely a working man's pub there's live music, a host of character full patrons and simple cheap food.

Twice now we have gone for wings and they were so dried out and burnt, terrible. Best we were told was well next time ask for them not to be cooked so much!

I gave 3 stars because the location is pretty neat, it literally is the pub down under and its in the parking garage (hard to find but I thought it was interesting). It is dark, dingy and dosent look clean. I went for breakfast and got French toast. It was good, basically what you would make at home and cheap, however, the hashbrowns where awful as they were the little tiny ones. The drink prices were less than other places on the bright side! All in all I wouldnt go back but it was worth a first experience. If dive bars, cheap breakfast and tiny hashbrowns are your thing, you will love it!

Pub food the good old way, at good old prices! Small quaint pub with friendly, eager staff. Fast service too. Wednesday wing night is a good time to visit. Lots of hockey memorabilia too!

We had the fish and chips. Beer battered fish was very greasy and breaded was too peppery. UPDATE: The owner and staff have worked very hard in improving the fish and chips. So no more greasy beer batter and the breaded is not peppery any more. Thank you Pub Down Under for listening to your customers.

We dropped in last Sunday and had their 50 cent wings...they were fantastic...also deals on 32oz Radler...also fantastic????....and even better.....the price is extremely reasonable and the service was excellent !! We will definitely back!!

SHAME ON YOU !! Pub Down Under Saturday night you made a choice to allow a group of approx thirty people that came out of the hotel to take a reservation that had been in place and that you obviously agreed too . This reservation was made for 40 guess that was for a celebration that had been planned for a couple of months by a friend to celebrate her friend's birthday. When I arrived at 6:45 and asked if she wanted all the guess inside to surprise her, she said that we could not go in because there was a large group inside that should be out by 7pm. That was bad enough, but then we see all those people going in and not coming out. She went back inside to speak to the people in charge, who by the way should have had a sign at the door letting people know there would be a private party. So this is what they say to her , they tell her that these people should be out of here in 1 hour, so they thought it was ok to make a party of 40 people stand around in a parking lot who by the way probably had not eaten since dinner time. NO THIS WAS NOT OK !! ... Remember this was a reservation that you agreed too. So we had to think quick, my sister arrived and I asked her to call Vegas. Long story short, Vegas told us as long as we have patients because they only had two people working and they may be a little slow but that yes they could accommodate all of us. Well Vegas saved the day !! Thank you so much Virginia for accommodating us on such short notice. Food was great and we all had a wonderful time. Feel free to share

Had an awesome time. The cover was $15 because there was a band playing but that was a little steep. Band was okay. Food was great and the deals were even better (free plate of wings with a pitcher ect..). Waitress was very welcoming and good as well as the bartender. Would definitely return. Would have been a 5 star review if the cover hadn't been so much. Thanks!
