Came here for a drink before dinner. Took 2 sips of my Caesar (the mango one, maybe my own mistake) before setting it aside because it tasted straight up weird. It also didn't come with the garnish that was listed on the menu. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating about the volume of the music, but it is actually CRAZY loud inside. Decent service but their mask policy is all over the place — half the staff were wearing, the other half were not.

We actually had our wedding reception at L'Gros Luxe Chicoutimi this past weekend and I am completely blown away! In the planning process they went above and beyond, so incredibly helpful. The staff took such great care of my my husband and I, making sure we always had a drink in our hands. They somehow got food for 40 people out in a very timely manner too! The staff really made it a night to remember. I highly reccomend this location for everything! Having a DELICIOUS vegetarian/vegan menu and gorgeous décor were obviously a huge bonus too. Go check them out if you haven't yet!!

I chose to make a reservation at the Gros Luxe Chicoutimi restaurant for my party since there are vegan options. I ordered the cauliflower wings clearly stating that we wanted the vegan option. The waitress brought us the wings with a sauce on the side that was not vegan. I thought maybe the wings have enough flavor that I don't have to use a dip, but I was wrong. No flavor. I had to ask for a BBQ sauce on the side ... which should have been offered from the start since we clearly asked for the vegan version. My main dish was good. But my partner ordered a poke bowl. She really isn't that hard to please ... but she started to pull some pieces out of the bowl. I learned she was looking for what he tasted like mold. Finally, it looked like it was edamame. Since most of the bowl was left and she couldn't eat it anymore, she wasn't feeling well ... I told the waitress about it. The waitress told me that the edamame is boiled, which causes a weird taste. We've eaten this ingredient in many formats for years (boiled or not), and there's never that kind of taste, (mold). When the waitress returned with the bill, she charged us the full price of the food, even though it was inedible. It all cost us over $ 100, to a really nasty end. I am really disappointed with our experience, the freshness of the ingredients, and the customer service. I worked for several years in customer service and never would have told a client that he was making up such a thing, especially if it was a comment (shared very politely), to be taken seriously and which was potentially dangerous. J’ai choisi de faire une réservation au restaurant l’Gros Luxe Chicoutimi pour ma fête puisqu’il y a des options véganes. J’ai commandé les ailes de choux-fleurs en mentionnant clairement que l’on voulait l’option végane. La serveuse nous a apporté les ailes avec une sauce à côté qui n’était pas végane. Je me suis dit que peut-être les ailes ont assez de saveur pour ne pas avoir à utiliser une trempette, mais j’avais tort. Aucune saveur. J’ai dû demander une sauce BBQ sur le côté... ce qui aurait dû être offert depuis le début puisque l’on avait clairement demandé la version végane. Mon met principal était bon. Mais ma partenaire a commandé un poke bowl. Elle n’est vraiment pas difficile à satisfaire... mais elle a commencé à enlever certains morceaux du bol. J’ai appris qu’elle cherchait ce qu’il goûtait la moisissure. Finalement, il semblait que c’était l’edamame. Puisqu’il restait la plupart du bol et qu’elle n’était plus capable d’en manger, elle ne se sentait pas bien... j’en ai parlé à la serveuse. La serveuse m’a dit que l’edamame était bouilli, ce qui cause un goût bizarre. Ça fait des années que l’on mange cet ingrédient dans plusieurs formats (bouilli ou non), et il n’y a jamais ce type de goût, (de moisissure). Lorsque la serveuse est revenue avec l’addition, elle nous a chargés le prix complet du mets, même s’il était immangeable. Le tout nous a coûté plus de $100, pour une fin vraiment désagréable. Je suis vraiment déçue de notre expérience, de la fraîcheur des ingrédients, et du service aux clients. J’ai travaillé plusieurs années dans des services clientèles et jamais j’aurais dit à un client qu’il inventait une telle chose, surtout si c’était un commentaire (partagé très poliment), à prendre au sérieux et qui était potentiellement dangereux.

Excellent representative of Gros Luxe. The food is fresh. Simplicity, good mix of tastes, classics burger/tartar/poutine you won't be disappointed by the pub food. The place is French Boudoir style. Clean. A very good place to get something to drink different than the traditional whine and beer GET CRAZY. As usual... The only difference here is the famous Regional service ... Don't be pushy and you'll feel in the family. Very good ambiance. Hard to find better in town.

We waited a very long time (approx. 1 hour) for our food, and when it did finally arrive it wasn't great. The batter around fish (fish and chips) was hard and had been in the deep fryer too long. Our food had been sitting in the window too long as well. Even though it was still warm when it was served it cooled down very fast.

Les + : le staff a été très accommodant et nous n'avons pas eu à se battre pour qu'on nous arrange notre facture dûe au service qui manquait de rigueur et à l'attente interminable des plats. À noter : après avoir discuter avec quelques clients qui vivaient la même situation, nous avons pu comprendre que c'était circonstanciel et qu'à l'habitude, les délais d'attente et le service client ne sont pas d'aussi piètre qualité. Nous sommes restées puisque nous avions énormément de choses à se dire, étant donné une retrouvaille amicale datant de quelques années et la perte récente d'une amie commune où j'étais de passage dans la ville pour les funérailles OVERALL : Le prix est entre l'abordable et le dispendieux en terme de rapport qualité prix. Le Mac N Cheese vaut inévitablement le détour. Le staff est très sympathique.

Very happy that they have vegan and vegetarian options available. This is essentially the same as the Gros Luxe in Montreal. The service was fast because the restaurant was pretty empty. Essentially, nothing crazy about the meals here but the atmosphere is cozy enough. Portions were not very large but since it’s pretty greasy, I’m not too mad about that. Does the job.

Very tasty and filling Fiesta Mexicaine Poutine! The fishburger was also good but its accompanying salad was quite small and its dressing a bit too bitter. Service was relatively fast and effective. We enjoyed our meal, prices were reasonable, so good value overall. Tons of nearby alternatives but no issues recommending this one.
